I wish I could do more while I'm in this town — there’s so much to explore! The streets are filled with the delicious scent of local food, and every corner seems to have a charming little shop full of souvenirs and handmade treasures. I want to taste every dish, wander into every store, and take a piece of this place home with me. I just wish time would slow down so I could soak it all in.

We visited Tarpon Springs and the Sponge Docks on a weekday after a business appointment. It is a beautiful, Greek atmosphere, town, which offers a great selection of shopping and food options. The restaurants are all in walking distance from several parking areas. Parking is priced fairly, most of the offers are for all day parking. We paid $8 for the day, which I consider very reasonable. We stopped by several of the stores and looked into sponge and soap stores. We also ate dinner at one of the restaurants. If you are in the area, Tarpon Springs needs to be on your schedule. My personal score is a 4.7.
This was the cutest and the most interesting place. Greek town. I could have spent all day looking at the boats in the harbor and all of the shops had the most creative things in the them. Homemade soap with sponges in them. It was such a creative and welcoming town. Great place to walk around. All of the Greek food was an adventure for sure, but delicious.
I loved walking around and looking through each of the stores. Such a beautiful town by the docks. Bought candy of course and these wonderful spices to try when I get back home. The Greek restaurants are abundant and I didn't have room to try any, we had breakfast before going here... darn it! Because I love authentic Greek food, yum!
Such a pleasant place! It has a nice variety of local shops and plenty of options to enjoy a meal or a drink. Since it was a rainy day, there weren’t many people around, which actually made it even better — we got to enjoy everything more comfortably and didn’t have to wait to get into any spot!
One of the best places in Tampa to visit. Lots of local shops, great deals and restaurants. Most of shops are selling famous sponges, sea shells, clothing, potteries, local food, teas, herbs, flowers and so much more. It gets pretty crowded on the weekends, so make sure you’re bringing your wallet and credit cards with you to buy souvenirs from the stores. Come early so you can see all the local shops and booths.
I loved my experience here. Most of the shops have the same stuff in it but it the feel of the area that I believe is why people visit here. The 2 hour dolphin tour is great!
I was unaware that Tarpon Springs is a Greek town. It features a plethora of local Greek shops, restaurants, bakeries, and cafes. I really enjoyed my visit, taking a pleasant stroll through the town and hopping from shop to shop to find some sponges and handmade Greek olive oil bar soaps.

Fred Howard Park, situated along the Gulf of Mexico, is a bustling and popular destination that spans over 150 acres. This was our first time going. The beach was clean and easily accessible from the parking lot. It was quiet and very family friendly. The water was calm and gradually got deeper making it perfect for my two young boys to play. The beach at the busiest time was not crowded with plenty of space around each family. It's located close to the sponge docks and restaurants if you wanted to make a day out of it. We will definitely be taking our kids back this summer!

Went to Fred Howard to kayak. Easily found the launch, which was not busy. You start the day in a mangrove tunnel, which was a lot of fun. However you do need to get in the water briefly to get your boat deep enough in the water and it's muddy. Recommend to have bug spray applied as you go through the tunnel. Be prepared to break your paddle down and use it like a canoe paddle as the tunnel is very narrow. Between marker 1 and 3 it goes well. At 3, the path narrows nad you have no choice to turn towards open water. Once on open water, it's calm and relaxing.
Nice spot to stay in Family, we love being so close to nature, this particular park has trail's bikes roads and kayaking zones to bring visitors safety and comfort. Visit and enjoy

A park ranger came around immediately at sunset and kicked everyone out. He was nice about it. Just seemed a little early. People were still trying to take photos. BEAUTIFUL place. Highly recommend!
Beautiful location. Kids friendly beach. When we were there, too many sea grass on the beach. Even though we live in east coast of Florida, my daughter still enjoyed it.

I love this beach. It’s not usually as crowded as other beaches in the area, sometimes I see dolphins, there’s a little bit of shade here and there, and the sunsets here are gorgeous!

Visitors can enjoy interactive moments during narrated feedings where they might even touch some of these incredible creatures.
I'd give more stars if I could! My 2 teenage sons and I visited today and had a great time here. This place is just fantastic! . There is so much to see here, the shows are fantastic and very informative. We were lucky enough to hold a small alligator and feed sharks, turtles and goats.The staff are all super friendly and it has a great atmosphere too. There are so many different animals to see and touch. We all had a very enjoyable time and will be back again soon.
I would highly recommend a visit here, and the other 5 star reviews are well deserved.

Such an amazing experience. All the staff was super nice. My 3 young kids got to not only interact with nearly every animal but they got a chance to hold a snake, an alligator, feed sharks, feed stingrays, turtles, and so much more. Prices were extremely reasonable compared to major places. I will definitely be coming back. Well worth it even if you have to drive 2 hours. Just go and you won't regret it.
We didn't even know this existed, but enjoyed it tremendously. It is a small, hands-on aquarium with lots of other animals too. It is smaller than most aquariums, but it was great for the price and not over crowded.
They have 2 large aquariums with various fish and sharks. They do shows at different times with a diver in the tank and highlight the various animals.
They have touch tanks. Our favorite was the stingrays.
They also have a bunch of farm animals as well.
You can purchase food to feed the various animals.
Decided to check it out due to the awesome reviews and it was definitely worth it! We've been to several bigger Aquariums and this one is a more unique, less crowded and personal experience. A family run operation with lots of volunteers all the animals looked extremely well taken care of.
Some of the high points:
⭐ Touch tanks with no wait. We came at 11am and if you bought the feeding tickets the sting rays took it right out of your hand!
⭐ We saw two live shows and got to touch several other animals, even got to hold a baby alligator 🐊 We've been to Alligator Farm in St Augustine and they charge like $40 to hold and have your picture with a baby alligator.
⭐ Got to pet the farm animals and walk among the chickens/rooster/duck/turkeys you can go in and pet even without feeding them for this part.
⭐ A big tortoise chilling and walking around the park also was allowed to be "pet".
⭐ Got to see the reptiles get fed around 11:30am in their shaded corridor.
⭐ It looks like they will let you bring in a lunch box and sit at picnic tables to eat, there's also a snack shack right there.
⭐ Not one rude or unhappy staff person even though it was 95 degrees and there were some screaming little ones. Impressive!
We tag teamed it with the free splash pad around the corner and there's several drive thru's on 19 thereafter.
A fun day trip and supporting a family run aquarium and animal sanctuary. Buy tickets at the desk for -20% FL residents discount.
I quite enjoyed my time, it was very enjoyable. There is a few blow fans set up around the site which was good to stand around and get some cool air as it was hot. My favourite part was feeding the stingrays, and farm animals, petting the tortoises was fun too. you can pay to feed some animals around the site but I think it’s a bit over-priced for what it was. It was a fun experience. The place itself is a bit overpriced but it was an enjoyable 1-2hours to spend
Had a great time today. From the fun of feeding the alligators, holding 1, seeing the baby gators, the crocodiles, feeding sharks.... all the creatures were so very lively and active.
The staff has such amazing energy and really include the audience in their presentations.
If you can only make it to 1 aquarium in the area I highly suggest giving this your time and attention.

Parking lot is dirt and full of holes so deep you have to drive around them. Staff is vary friendly and helpful. Not a vary big place but what they have is vary cool I got to hold a baby alligator and the shows are good to. Little pricey I thought for what they have and the time you actually spend there.

A. L. Anderson Park, located in Tarpon Springs, is a 129-acre Pinellas County Park featuring hilly terrain, wooded areas, and stunning views of Salmon Bay and Lake Tarpon. The park offers a variety of outdoor activities such as walking trails, picnic spots, playgrounds, and fishing access. Visitors can also enjoy the dog park and boat ramp for paddling or motorized boating on Lake Tarpon.
What a beautiful park! It’s massive, so at first we parked on the side where the playground was on our first visit, the kids loved it, small but mighty and impeccable views even from the playground area. There’s tons of interactive things for the kids to do on the playground and interesting climbing structures. There was some invent going on when we went the first time but that didn’t stop us from having fun as the park really is so vast. There’s a lot of rest areas, bathrooms, water fountains, fields, and walkways. We were a little under the weather and said we’d come back to explore the other side of the park, which is literally on the other side when you turn in and boy do we no regret it! There’s a small trail leading to a giant view of Lake Tarpon, it’s part pathway and then leads to a boardwalk, the kids always love running these trails just as much as we do, and it helps get our steps in and it tires them out haha! When you’re on the boardwalk you see so much wildlife, especially near dusk, we saw four or five baby alligators, we saw tons of butterflies, birds, squirrels and even a hawk. The trail is kinda short but definitely worth it! On this side of the park there’s also restrooms and water fountains and swinging benches that you can sit on facing the lake/salmons bay leading into lake tarpon. There’s also a boat ramp for boat people. Overall it’s definitely one of my favorite parks we’ve been too, all the ones on lake tarpon are super nice! Great for dog walkers too! Definitely recommend!

It was a beautiful sunrise today here at Anderson Park. It's always gorgeous after we've had a lot of rain and everything starts to bloom. The boat ramp is open early, but the park is actually open till later. Great hiking trails in the shade. There's swings, a dog park. Very nice pavilions in the shade along the lake. They are also building a new boardwalk. Very well-maintained County Park.

Very beautiful and well kept county park in Tarpon Springs. Nice playground, plenty of pavilions (some on Tarpon Lake), picnic tables with grills and bathrooms. Beautiful nature all around and even a dog park! A beautiful tree for photos as well!
Beautiful park, very well maintained. We frequent this park to admire the Spanish moss on the mature trees and explore looking for alligators. On the walking trails, the trees are so tall and foliage all around, you feel as though you’ve stepped into the jungle even though it’s right off of highway 19. Each picnic table has a semi private lake view which is perfect for a picnic. Also appreciate that the playground is a good distance from the lake for keeping the kiddos safe.
As a new boater, I really enjoyed this place. Huge lake to practice maneuvering and getting a feel for your boat while not being in others way or a boat channel like salt water.
Multiple ramps and easy as can be as they are basically zero incline. Multiple other boaters out today (Saturday) but due to the other ramp lanes and the overall very chill vibe of this place we never felt rushed. Great spot to learn boating.
There are alligators like any freshwater we saw a few. But as long as you don’t bother or try to feed them they tend to keep their distance. Awesome place great for newbies
Wonderful park, very nice and clean. Huge open spaces to walk or run in, and a nice little playground for children at least in the area we went to. This place is surprisingly big!! The park ranger we met was also so nice. She talked to us a lot about the gators that live there! Highly recommend coming!
5/21 took the dogs here on a walk, did about 1.5 through out the park. Shaded, saw an alligator, birds, hawks, and grasshoppers. I grew up 25 plus years ago coming here as a kid!

The Leepa-Rattner Museum of Art, located on the St. Petersburg College campus in Tarpon Springs, Florida, is a contemporary and modern art museum that boasts an extensive collection of 20th-century art. The museum features works by Abraham Rattner and other modern masters in eight permanent galleries, along with special exhibits and educational programs throughout the year.
This was so cool and a great surprise. Was looking for things to do on a Saturday morning and glad we stopped in here. Lots of fun art, free but donations encouraged. It had a lot of cool mediums and the lady at the desk was so nice. Stop by here if you want something to do for an hour in some AC!

Lovely stroll through the museum! Always worth seeing the permanent collection at Leroy-Rattner! There was some construction going on so parts of building was closed. Still a delight.
Really enjoyed my visit to this small art museum! Even though it’s not huge, the exhibits were creative, engaging, and well put together. The space is peaceful and easy to walk through, and the staff were welcoming. A hidden gem that’s definitely worth checking out if you’re nearby!
Highly recommend this exhibit to anyone interested in art or artists 🎨 featuring miniature paintings, artwork by alot of local artists currently. We went on a Sunday around 2pm and were surprised by how many people were there. It is absolutely FREE to the public.!! 😊 Local artists were there answering questions about their work for the kids that shared their interest in art. Definitely a worthwhile visit 🎨 🖼 🎭 . Closed on Mondays!

Wonderful small museum with a beautifully displayed collection, principally featuring the art of modern expressionist Abraham Rattner. It was well worth the visit. We particularly loved the interactive "April Showers" installation. Enjoyed shopping in the gift shop, too!
I visited on a Saturday afternoon to see the visiting exhibit, Made in Florida. Our visit took about an hour. I have seen some of these artist's booths at Gasparilla Art Show.

The Safford House Museum, built in 1883, is a beautifully restored Victorian mansion located in Tarpon Springs, Florida. It was the former home of one of the original developers of the city and now offers guided tours and events for visitors to experience a glimpse into the area's rich history. The museum showcases period furnishings and meticulously reflects its original Victorian grandeur, providing an opportunity to step back in time and learn about life in Florida over a century ago.
We visited the Safford House for the Christmas Holiday Season. It was a very pleasant place to visit with a great docent named Bob. He was very knowledgeable of the history of the house and family who lived there. He made sure that you knew the importance of the family to Tarpon Springs history. The building itself was remarkable and its rooms looked as they would have in the 19th century. The wood covered walls and ceilings are exactly as they would have been.
The only problem is parking. There is limited parking at the museum but I wouldn't let the parking stop you from going there is street parking nearby.
We will be back for next season.

Majestic building with interesting architectural details and a lot of interesting history. The rooms are beautifully curated with decor and artifacts. Combine a visit here on your way to the sponge docks. We didn't buy tickets in advance but it might be a good idea during the holidays.

I have a penchant for exploring old homes and I enjoyed our tour of the historic Safford House which once belonged to Governor Safford. Debbie was an excellent docent as she patiently detailed the story of this prominent family - both the governor and his sister who was a trailblazer for women. Many antiques and period furnishings but the story of the family was most interesting.
What a hidden gem! Found this on a Google search looking for interesting places to go. It didn’t disappoint. Beautiful house. Interesting family. The docent, Caroline, made the tour very enjoyable. We’ll be back during the holidays.

The Replay Pinball Museum is a great place for the family. This place was filled with many different games such as pinballs and classic arcade games. You only pay one fee of 16 dollars per person and you have access to unlimited games for the whole day. I highly recommend this place if you’re looking for some entertainment while visiting Tarpon Springs.
Fantastic collection of video game consoles and pinball machines all set to free play. One ticket and you can play all day. Was a great trip down memory lane!

For anyone who likes retro pinball or pi ball at all this is a must $16 and then all day pass with a wrist band in and out access. Super fun for all the family.
Excellent games and staff! They have some great deals, too. $14 all day, come and go as you wish. Or $5 from noon to 2 pm only. (Spring break special) we played dozens of pinball machines from 1968, 1976 up to modern day. Played Galaga, Astroids, Defender, etc.. they have everything!! Highly recommend 👌 👍 👏

Craig Park, located in Tarpon Springs, is a picturesque waterfront park offering various amenities for visitors. Great area for a walk with lots of paved paths. Viewing manatees in Spring Bayou. Lots of wall seating. City history museum. Surrounded by architecturally interesting historic homes. Site of annual Epiphany Cross Retrieval Dive tradition. Some Christmas lights to enjoy in December. One sidewalk rings Spring Bayou. If you have impulsive/inattentive little ones, you might want to know there is no protective railing on the sidewalk ringing the bayou. I didn’t really see any steps or ladders for how you’d get out if you fell in. So just take care! Great place for manatee watching in cold weather. Saw some mullet jumping too. Wonderful park with beautiful Victorian homes surrounding the bayou where if you’re lucky you may see some manatees playing or relaxing in the spring and possibly some dolphins hunting the sea wall. It has a public boat ramp and a cultural center, bathrooms, tennis courts, playgrounds and more. Great place for dogs and families. Great place for kayaking or paddle boarding whether you go on a guided tour or on your own. Just please remember to follow all the laws regarding the manatees! Don’t miss out on this gem of a park!
Craig Park in Tarpon Springs is an absolute gem! Whether you’re there to fish along the peaceful bayou, let the kids enjoy the playground, or hit the tennis courts, there’s something for everyone. The park is beautifully maintained with plenty of shaded areas, walking paths, and benches to relax and take in the view. One of the highlights is spotting manatees in the water—especially during the cooler months! It’s a relaxing, scenic place that truly captures the charm of Tarpon Springs. Highly recommend for a peaceful day outdoors or a family outing!

Very nice park. Handicap accessible sidewalk goes around park at waters edge. Picnic table and benches and a well manicured landscape and to the peaceful feeling you get being here. Wonderful to sit and relax, dangle your feet in the water, read a book, do your studies, or have a picnic. Boat launch, kayaking, fishing, playground, tennis courts. Nice indoor bathrooms. This is also home to a Heritage Museum.

Took a nice walk here this morning 🌄 😊 Such a beautiful, quiet and peaceful place. Ran into a volunteer crew that was picking up a small amount of garbage. This park is very clean, most likely due to these wonderful young people volunteering their time on an early Saturday morning. Great job everyone and thank you!

Fantastic small museum showcasing history about Tarpon Springs through art, displays, and historical history of the area. The volunteers are very friendly and very helpful with any questions. This is a must visit if you live in the area.
This was a lovely museum to visit. The paintings by artist, Christopher Still, are breathtaking and beautiful. I think the short documentary video they show at the museum about the artist and Tarpon Springs with its rich Greek culture is nicely done.
The museum's historical photos and write ups about The Epiphany Celebration in Tarpon Springs by the Greek Orthodox Community are interesting. Also, seeing the artifacts, Manatee skeleton, and learning how Tarpon Springs fishing for sponges began, the diving and fishing equipment used during the 1900s, and how the sponges are processed is all very interesting. I definitely recommend visiting the museum.
This is well worth the visit and the entry fee, which is only $5 - with military discount only $3 - in either case it's worth it, the folks who put this project together have done an excellent job. Children will enjoy it!😀
Attended a Tarpon Arts Lunch and Learn program at the Heritage Museum. Their meeting room has horrid accoustics!
I do NOT recommend this space for any type of special events until they implement sound mitigation.
The program information was helpful. The speaker was very knowledgeable. Alas, he discussed art but showed crowded small photos of the art. The projector wasn't even aimed at the top of the screen so most people had to crane their necks around other people's heads trying to see.
The lunch was fine. Alas, it was served in big single-use plastic boxes with prepackaged plastic tools, napkin etc.
So much trash!
This place was surprisingly larger than you would think walking in. The building itself is very cool and there are so many different things in the museum from different eras. The staff is very knowledgeable and helpful as well.
This is a treasure in a beautiful park. The city has various large gatherings at the Museum and we had our Sister Cities International Annual Meeting recently. What a night.

Anclote Key Preserve State Park is a must-visit destination for nature enthusiasts and beach lovers. This 4-mile barrier island, located off the coast of Tarpon Springs, offers pristine white-sand beaches perfect for activities like swimming, snorkeling, and shelling. The park features nature trails that wind through mangroves and beach dunes, providing opportunities to observe diverse wildlife such as ospreys, bald eagles, pelicans, dolphins, herons, and manatees.
Camping here for the night was such a treat! The sites are far apart and great for a little privacy while you enjoy time with family or friends. The nature and wildlife is beautiful eith wonderful trails and even a suspension bridge to explore. We saw alligators and all kinds of amazing plants. They do have canoes and kayaks for rent as well!
Clean showers and a washer and dryer if you need it. Great stay, very fun for my whole family and very affordable for a primitive campground.

Beautiful beach! It was part of a tour out of Tarpon Springs. Spent 30 minutes on the beach and combed for shells. The water is beautiful and warm (72°F). Highly recommend the tour (Spongeorama) it is a boat ride from the spongedocks to the island. You see wildlife and the captain and crew guy are funny and very knowledgeable about the local history. I will def. Be returning to do this again!

Anclote is a beautiful island to take your family for a picnic, or just a walk on the beach. There is easy access to pull a boat rite up to the beach. all along the Gulf side and on the north and south ends. There is also a ferry boat that brings people to the south end. I hear it is very affordable. It's definitely a must if you live around the area. There is also great fishing around the island.
Beautiful north cost with plenty of room to anchor boats without being more than 30 feet from sandy Beach. Typically a calm area without too much of the rowdy boat crowd.
I must have come to this place at least a dozen times with family and friends. Having a boat definitely makes it much easier to frequent this place and enjoy the multiple things there is to do in this place. Our first trip we had a nice picnic right on one of the sandy beaches and then went walking the trails. Another time we went around the island on our sailboat until we found a nice spot to stop for a nice lunch and siesta on a hammock. We loved this place so much that we wanted to try the primitive camping. Camping turn in to a true adventure as we picked the wrong time (just before a cold front rolled in) however it remains one very memorable occasions we have gone through as a family. Definitely one of my favorite spots in this area.

I luckily was following the River and the Trail and came across this hidden gem. Nice park with two dog areas one for small dogs and one for large dogs. I really liked the two gate entrance areas so no dogs can sneak out.
The Splash play area was clean, I was there early in the day and there was no one getting wet yet.
There is also a play area with swings and other equipment for the kids to play on.
The canoe and kayak launch is picture perfect
Overall a very nice place to bring your dogs out to play... And if you want to bring the kids it's a great place to wear them out for the day.

This splash pad was so fun!! My toddler loved it. It stopped working twice while we were there and I am unsure if that is a common problem. They were also hosting a free family festival with bounce house water slides so I’m not sure if that impacted anything. They have restrooms, water fountain, big free parking lot (a little dusty), a playground, and more! With a stroller we could have walked to the sponge docks.
My grandchildren loved visiting the TS Splash Park. It's best for toddlers and preschool kids. The park is clean and its not super big. You can see your kids within the fence from every angle. There is a lightning detector so the water shuts down for your safety until it's safe. It's a fun day for everyone. It's partially shaded with bathrooms and plenty of parking. Next door they have benches, grills, a covered playground and a "New" kayak launch. There's an exercise area across the street with equipment for seniors. The dog park next door is also popular with 2 large areas for big and small dogs. Its fun for the whole family. Tarpon Springs is a great place to call home.

Plenty of parking spaces, with several handicap spaces. There is also a playground next to the splash pad. I would recommend it very highly. It is free of charge.

Been going here for years now. Sometimes we go in the summer just because it’s close by but we mostly go for sunsets in the winter months. It’s more like a bay experience than a true beach like Clearwater but it’s free to enter and park and it’s a decent alternative if you’re in northern Pinellas county because it’s easy to access and most times easy to park. Bathrooms, a few shelters and a boat launch available for free

It is very small but beautiful. There is a small playground that I feel would be good for smaller children. There is plenty of seating for a sunset destination. A even better idea is to bring your own chair a cuddle up with your spouse for a romantic evening. I do have to the bathroom. Yes, they have bathrooms, which is the only reason they didn't get a 5. I think they are not attended. So very smelly. Overly smelly. But hey, they do have them, so not a 3 star.
This isn't a major beach. Its small but nice. There is plenty of available parking. This is probably a good beach for families but don't expect it to be amazing. Honestly I wouldn't go out of my way to get to this beach. But if your in the area amd want to be near water. Here you go.
Sunset Beach is so beautiful. It's the perfect place to stop the hustle of life and just BE. Watch as the sun settles into the horizon as all of the Beautifu colors reflect off of the clouds. It's breathtaking!
This quaint beach is a refreshing little escape from the other barrier islands further south. It has just enough to stay the whole day. Sunsets from here are next level stunning. Recommended for all ages; but a nice spot for a couples retreat.

Located in downtown Tarpon Springs, the Tarpon Springs Historical Train Depot Museum is housed in a former train depot dating back to the early 1900s. The museum offers exhibits on local and railroad history, providing insight into the vital role of the railroad in shaping the area's growth. Visitors can explore a late-nineteenth-century railway station replica and learn about locomotives and their history. Admission is free, making it an ideal stop for those interested in trains and their historical significance.
Love history? A must stop! The attendant was very informative which enhanced the visit. Museum isn't just about the trains, but includes the entire area with supporting displays.

What a gem this little museum is, tucked in downtown Tarpon Springs by the Pinellas Trail…of course, because that was a former railroad and this museum is housed in an old rail depot.
There is a volunteer interpreter when you come in who will get you acquainted with the first room, the former ticket and registration area.
And then you are free to wander through the other back rooms as well, that capture the rich history of this area.
From the agriculture to the sponge diving trade, Tarpon Springs had a lot going for it over the years.
And some wealthy patrons to help it along the way, as well as a hard working citizenship who also sent their young men off to the World Wars.
Admission is free but do the right thing and drop a few dollars in the donation box, and make a purchase or two in the gift shop.
I will be back because there is so much to see!

The woman who greeted me at the door (who I sadly/rudely never got the name of), enthusiastically led me through thw museum giving me an extremely informative, and interesting, tour. I mentioned I had a short amount of time, and she did a fantastic job, pointing at the highlights, and going into greater details when I showed additional interest.
My favorite information that I learned about was the progression of how the sponge industry in Tarpon Springs came to be, how the initial Greek immigrants were brought over through a friendship between businessmen, and all the ties this place has with pop culture in America as a whole (greek potato salad was invented here!).
I was floored to learn that the woman who helped me was a volunteer. She was born and raised in Tarpon Springs, and clearly had a love for her town. I could not believe that this was a free museum, and wish I had several hours to go through every detail. A bonus - they have a cute little gift shop corner, I bought a couple of cool photos of the town for only $8!
Please make sure to stop by here before you make your way down to the sponge docks. You won’t regret it!

A must see in Tarpon Springs. So much history about tarpon springs. So many historical pictures and antiques in the old train station. We were very surprised to find this hidden gem in downtown Tarpon Springs. Make sure you find all the stars in the museum. I will certainly visit again and spend more time on my next visit.

The views were absolutely breathtaking, especially as the sun set over the water. We were lucky enough to spot several dolphins, which was such a magical moment. Plus, we found some beautiful seashells along the beach, which made for the perfect souvenir.

I booked this cruise for my man's birthday. We've never been to Tarpon, it was a great afternoon! The captain and bar tender/ ticket taker/comedian/photographer were the BEST. The sunset was breathtaking, the island was secluded and a great little escape. We'll book the longer cruise next time!
I can’t speak highly enough of this cruise company. The boat is super clean and huge, plenty of space for your whole family. The drive to Anclote Key is beautiful and the island is just stunning. White sand, clear water, perfect for looking for shells 🐚.

The best part was by far Spring and Captain Jared, super nice with a huge knowledge about the islands, wildlife and everything you will see. Spring gave us a lesson in all the marine wildlife and showed us different shells, any shell we brought her she knew the name instantly.

Our group had kids ranging from ages 2 to 5, and every single one had a great time. Booking the Odyssey Cruise was a breeze with their easy-to-use online system. Parking was convenient and reasonably priced at just $8. The cruise itself was on a comfortable 49-passenger boat, which made for a pleasant and not overly crowded experience.
Our on-board guide was friendly and informative, sharing interesting facts and history throughout the trip. We had about 30 minutes to explore the island, which was just enough to enjoy the scenery and take photos.

My daughter and I went on this trip, which lasted a total of two hours and was spectacular. The captain and his crew are very professional and courteous. Before leaving the island, we had the wonderful experience of watching a dolphins family fishing on the shore of the island. Was super!!!!
What a great Dolphin 🐬 Cruise! We had such a fun time! Adam was very accommodating to my son with autism. Our Captain, Dallas and Tour guide, Chuck were so knowledgeable and helpful. We got some really cool shells 🐚 and saw lots of dolphins on our back to the docks. Definitely recommend!

You need to see this enormous painting which tells the story of the development of Tarpon Springs. During the summer, it is only open Tuesdays and Saturdays from 1pm to 3pm, but in the season (October thru April) it is open more often.

Anclote River Park, nestled along the scenic Anclote River in Tarpon Springs, offers a delightful riverside escape for nature enthusiasts and outdoor lovers. This 31-acre park boasts stunning river views, designated fishing spots, and an array of recreational facilities. Visitors can enjoy leisurely strolls along walking trails, relax at picnic areas with pavilions, or launch their boats into the calm waters.
This is one of my favorite parks in this area. The beach is nice and quiet. It has a boat ramp as well. There is shade and benches. There are restrooms, changing rooms and plants of parking. Just outside the park along the bike path to the north is an eagles' nest. You can get quite close and observe the eagles and their babies. There are usually some photographers and bird enthusiasts there.

Perfect spot for a relaxing ladies’ day! The water was crystal clear with beautiful turquoise hues—so refreshing 🌊☀️. We loved playing cards and catching some shade under the pavilion 🃏⛱️. The boat ramp was busy but well-kept 🚤, and it was great to see the playground 🛝 and historic Indian mound nearby 🏞️. Restrooms were super clean and even had changing rooms—huge plus! 🧼🚻 Peaceful, pretty, and perfect for a beach day 🌴
We have visited many of the beaches and dog parks in the Tampa area. This is by far our favorite place to start or end the day with a dog walk.

I visit this park every time I visit my sister in Holiday florida. I love this place! It's beautiful and it's quiet. For me it's just the right amount of beach. 2 years ago I saw two dolphins in this swim area!
We enjoy Anclote River Park from time to time.
No user fees, lots of parking, nice drive to get there, at least the latter part of the drive once you leave US19, and decent beach and swimming.
So, obviously it’s not Clearwater or Belaire, but sandy beach all the same.
If you keep your eyes on the water, and are there for the day, you are likely to see a pod of dolphins go by.
It is nice even watching the pelicans glide along the water.
So if you are looking for a low key, peaceful outing this might be your spot.
This charming park is free to visit and sits right along the water, with birds and squirrels adding to the lively atmosphere. It features a fenced-off swimming area and a well-maintained public bathroom. A paid boat ramp is also available.
The county has done an excellent job keeping this park clean, safe, and beautifully maintained.
Fantastic place to spend the day with your family and friends plenty of grills to go around.
8/25 They have done a great job cleaning up! Kudos to the staff! We cruised around for a shady table with close parking. No problems watching the boats go by for a little while.

Discovery Playground, located at 150 N. Jasmine Ave, Tarpon Springs, FL, is a large wooden composite lumber playground with a castle theme. It offers various attractions such as tunnels, handlebars, a tire swing, and slides. The playground has separate sections for toddlers and older children with swings suitable for infants as well.
So much to do, tire swing, 4 or 5 slides. I think this might be my son's new fav park!!! It's tucked away off the main roads, surrounded by a cemetery and ball fields , There was nobody there, which was nice not hearing a bunch of kids screaming, but got spooky after the sun started to set lol.

RIP to one of the best playgrounds in the area. I hope the new one will still be nice for the kids, but the plans look soulless and boring compared to the charm of the old wooden one everyone loved. My kids were very sad to see it all torn down, and I doubt they will want to come back once the new one is open.
This playground is really cool! The main area is geared for children that are agile and/or older than 5. There is an area as well for the kiddos under 5. There are swings for infants and a tire swing as well. There's a double swing that has an infant swing attached. There are several open field around the playground. I like that there's a lot of trees near by before all of the shades they provide. Really cool playground!
Big shaded park with lots of activities to do on the play structures. Restroom facilities are clean; just bring extra tp and hand sanitizer. We've visited this park several times and there were several families there but didn't feel crowded and was a good chill vibe from everyone. Pretty clean and well maintained park. Nice park with plenty of parking and shade. Although it doesn't have direct access to the Pinellas trail it's close enough that you can park there and start a ride. There are also restrooms, picnic tables, and a filtered water filling station here.
Great playground. Someome threw dirty diapers and empty chip bags on the ground in the middle of the play ground. So that was gross. Hopefully that doesn't happen often. Overall, it's a huge, fun playground. Reminds me of the old jungle gyms from the 90s.
Awesome playground next to some soccer fields. Restrooms where BERY clean, a small book station to grab trade or just read a book while your child is hard at play right near you. We will have a video review in a few weeks once we get more footage.

North Anclote River Nature Park is a picturesque riverside park with shaded trails, a playground, and picnic spots. Unlike other Tarpon Springs beaches, the park's small beach faces the Anclote River rather than the Gulf of Mexico. This unique orientation provides two advantages: calmer waters on windy days and warmer river water for easier access. It is an ideal place for leisurely walks with dogs, offering opportunities to spot various wildlife such as rabbits, tortoises, and red birds.
A Diamond of a park tucked away from the town, don’t let the entrance deceive you, or the pictures, the playground and park is actually huge! There’s two playgrounds to play on for the little ones and my twins really loved it! Not very busy at all when it comes to the playgrounds, so that was a plus. I recommend bringing bug spray though because those noseeums are ruthless! There is a public restroom, swings, and a trail with docks and observation towers which we didn’t explore this time but definitely will next time! Dog friendly too, definitely recommend this park for families. So much beauty in the nature here. Another hidden gem forsure away from all the hustle and bustle that other parks have! Apparently there is a little library to donate books, we carry around books and brand new journals to donate but I didn’t see it at the front but maybe it’s deeper down the trail. Either way, we had a blast here. There’s plenty of parking too, forsure check it out if you’re in the area and want a nice but quick relaxing stroll! EDIT: we explored the trails today and they were so beautiful and fun! The kiddos loved it and I was surprised by how much they ran the trail, I almost couldn’t keep up with them haha! There’s multiple trails and some loop back around to the entrance but other ones lead to the boat ramp/kayak launch, some have fishing piers, beautiful views of the rivers. Some of the terrain was rough like seashells on the ground but most of it was smooth, saw some snakes but harmless and cute! Definitely will come back here again for the trails.

This is my #1 go-to park for hiking. It has rough, natural trails to hike along with water views. The park trails lead to other paved hiking trails. The Fred Marquis Pinellas Trail and the newer Elfer’s Spur trail that connects to Coastal Anclote Trail in Pasco county effectively connecting it to 3 other parks and lots more nature!
For my purposes, this trail was enjoyable. I was looking for a dog-friendly nature preserve. I was impressed by how much the sound of Highway 19 and Alt 19 was softened. You could hear it if you sought it out, but mostly this was a great escape within town. I saw a few folks on the trail, but it was secluded for the most part.
Things to consider:
• The majority of the trail is made of crushed sea shells. They are mostly eroded down but there are sharp pieces throughout. I still found the walk to be easy and my dog was not affected by it.
• There is a major power-line running through the preserve. It’s pushing big power and you can hear it before you see it (why I dropped a star)
Other Pros:

First and foremost: if you visit, bug spray is a must. Lived here all my life and I have never had this many mosquitoes on me at once. These ones were determined.
Nice walkable trails. The on-trail restrooms appeared to be closed/not maintained given that the steps to them were completely covered with vines. We saw a lot of animal footprints (raccoons and something we couldn’t identify). Spotted some rabbits and a few tortoises on the path. No one else was in the park other than someone walking their dog, so it’s a comparatively remote trail experience. There are a few lookouts for fishing. The designated kayak launch post is like a mile into the trail, and not nearby any parking. The one picnic table was partially submerged in water. There weren’t many signs to give directions, which wasn’t super helpful as many of the trails either led towards private property or dead ends.
But all in all, lovely trails but awful mosquitoes. I would love for the county to commit to maintaining the park more.
There are limited spaces for an RV 32’ or less! Nature!! Nice people at the phone today May2/2025.
Beautiful little park with a loop trail. Great for dogs. Not so much for strollers. But there is a playground for kids and a picnic area with restroom!

Catapult Adventure Park in Tarpon Springs is a fantastic choice for those seeking an enjoyable outing with their friends or family. This amusement park offers various thrilling activities, such as the catapult launch area and the opportunity to bounce endlessly. Additionally, visitors can brave the tornado twirl and experience the leaping leopard giant airbag, which are specifically designed to challenge one's nerves while providing endless entertainment. It's a wonderful destination for celebrating special occasions like birthdays or simply indulging in some quality fun time.
Booked a party here for two reasons: they open in the morning and the parties are not overly structured. We brought five kids ranging 3-11 years old and everyone, including the adults, had a fantastic time. The aerial course was the hands-down favorite and the huge slide that ends in the ball pit a close second. The jousting area was overrun with smaller kids who wanted a shorter jump down (understandable) but we enjoyed some jousting in between and it all worked out great. Our party host, Raven, did a wonderful job - she was attentive to the standard party items and took time to help encourage the kids along the aerial course. I honestly can't find words for the great time we had, both adults and kids. The adults FELT like kids again! Kudos also to the staff member who was supervising the aerial course, this young man was on the ball.

It is the best place Because It’s so much fun. It is the best because it is a nice place to be A kid. My favorites are The rope course, the free fall, the ball pits & the tube slide. You should go!

The kids love this place. Talk about a workout. Take all your future stuntmen and daredevils to check this great place out. The staff is super friendly and helpful. The prices aren't that bad, 20 dollars a month if you get a membership and since my kids love this kind of stuff we like to try them all out and then decide which one we like the most. There are no trampolines it's all bounce houses, ball pits, high jumps and slides. They even have a sky track or more like an obstacle course up in the rafters. They put a rope seat on you and a harness to keep you anchored in to a track for your harness to follow as you move through the course. Nothing but smiles and laughter the entire time and what kind of price can you put on that. My daughter's best friend had a birthday party there and we are so glad we went and found this place. Always down for a good workout and a chance to wear them out. Don't happen often. I can't wait to take them again. I may have had more fun than they did honestly. Everyone was tired when we got home too. That's always a win in our house.Thank you guys and keep up the good work. We will definitely be to see you all again.
Cool Idea but clearly not enough staff. Beware if you bring small children cuz the staff will not enforce the size restrictions. Allow the older kids in small kids ball pit. The staff also doesnt care about them throwing the rigid balls at each other. So bring eye protection for your little ones.

Great little spot for the kids to do some jumping and climbing. Takes a minute to get harnessed up for the obstacle course, which can lead to lines, but it's pretty quick. Shorter kids may have some trouble getting the lead to follow portions of the tracks.
Booked Catapult for a birthday party this past weekend and all the kids (ages 1 to 16) and even parents had a blast! Loved being able to book around opening time and was even able to call a few days before to change our jump time (added extra hour) with no issues. We were not limited to just pizza and were allowed to bring our own party trays of food! The staff was very accommodating and our host Maggie was exceptional. She made sure our three hours ran smoothly from arrival, to serving lunch and bringing out the cake. Hoping to book another party here in the future :)

Shrine
Saint Michael Shrine, located at 113 Hope St., has been a site of reported miracles since its establishment in 1940. It was constructed as a fulfillment of a promise made to Archangel Michael and is visited by many who come to pray and light candles. The shrine is beautifully decorated and well-maintained, offering a serene space for meditation and prayer. Visitors can make small donations and light candles, while also enjoying the inspiring images of Jesus, Archangel Michael, and other revered figures.
I have thought about going here over the years and finally got a chance to visit. There is a terrific little shrine outside dedicated to Saint Michael. There is also a small chapel on the site that is so beautiful on the inside. A very nice Greek lady inside showed us the beautiful alter inside the sanctuary, behind the iconostasion. The chapel is filled with beautiful icons and stained glass windows. I am so glad we finally got to visit.

Such perfect peace, and a feeling of love. Quiet reflective shrine to the Archangel Michael. We were greeted by a lady who welcomed us in Greek, and a hug. There are candles available for a donation, and burning. Never fail prayer available, holy water for consumption, and cotton balls soaked in holy oil. This is in a residential area, and the parking is in the back, if you use Google maps.

The Saint Michael Shrine definitely honors saints especially Michael the Archangel. It's definitely a whole lot more than a great place of worship and prayer. Besides masses, there are special events there. It also reaches out to the community especially those who are in need of care. The one and only way to connect with Angels and Saints and to take in the Holy Spirit is through Jesus Christ. Always worship, glorify, and praise God Almighty at all times through Christ. Amen 🙏
A Peaceful, Powerful Place of Faith and Miracles
I’ve been coming to St. Michael’s Shrine in Tarpon Springs for more than a few years now, and I can honestly say—it’s a truly special and sacred place.
The shrine is known for its miraculous blessings, and I can personally testify to that. I believe this holy place truly has the power to bring peace, healing, and miracles into your life. Every visit leaves me feeling spiritually uplifted.
The services are heartfelt and meaningful, and the people who attend are warm and welcoming. What really stands out is the family that owns and maintains the shrine—they are incredibly kind and treat everyone who walks in like part of their own family.
If you happen to visit on a Wednesday evening, you're in for an extra treat. After the chanting service, they generously offer a little kindness and fellowship—including blessed bread (Artoklasia) along with cakes, sweets, and goodies. It’s a beautiful tradition that really adds to the sense of community and love this place is known for.
If you're anywhere near Tarpon Springs and need a quiet space for prayer, healing, or just a moment of peace, St. Michael’s Shrine is a place where faith feels real and alive.
A beautiful and holy place of prayer. The shrine may be small, but it carries a deep sense of peace and reverence. Many people have experienced miraculous healings here through the intercession of St. Michael. Lighting a candle and spending a quiet moment in prayer makes this a truly moving visit.
Miracles do happen. My sister Jane introduced me to Archangel Michael's Shrine during her battles with breastfeeding cancer. A place of praying 🙏 and hope for life's trials. God bless.
I went here on the recommendation of a friend after she shared a news article about it being a place of miracles. I didn't have a lot of time to stay and pray, but the time I spent there was well worth the effort. It's a small cozy chapel with lots of iconic religious art. Very peaceful.

Plan to pay to park in order to spend your money on old worn out "souvenirs" and old sponges. There are lots of places to eat Greek Food and that's about all to see and do unless you're gonna take a Dolphin cruise. I'm a born Floridian and haven't been to the docks in years....I can wait many more years before I go back. There are better places along our beautiful Gulf Coast line to stop and enjoy. 👎
Disappointed – Not What We Expected
I was really looking forward to the Tarpon Springs Craft Festival, but unfortunately, it fell short of expectations. There were hardly any actual craft vendors—most booths had mass-produced or unrelated items. We were hoping to see more handmade goods and local artistry, but that just wasn’t the case.
On top of that, we were constantly approached on the street by people trying to get us to sign petitions. It felt more like a political rally than a relaxing day at a craft fair. Overall, not the experience we were hoping for.
Great place to walk with family and visit all the shops in the area. I enjoyed it very much. Only downfall is the parking fees.
I love this place. Go to Loris Soaps and use her lotion! Seriously helpful and healing. Also the sponges absorb odor so much more than poufs. Teenagers who play sports would really benefit from these.
It was unique place to visit, busy on certain days...tons of Greek places to eat in...clean town!
