Landscape Arch is a natural wonder located in Arches National Park, with a span of 290 feet, making it the longest sandstone arch in the park. It can be accessed via the Devils Garden trail, which offers hikers the option to explore seven different arches along a 7.9-mile counterclockwise loop. For those seeking a shorter hike, a 1.9-mile trek leads directly to Landscape Arch.
Beautiful and Easy Hike – A Must-See Spot! This hike is relatively easy — I saw kids as young as 6 to 8 years old doing it with no problem. I highly recommend going in the morning for more shade and cooler temperatures. It took me about an hour total, including the hike up, a short rest at the top, and the hike back down. The view at the top is absolutely stunning — definitely a must-see if you’re visiting the area!
Haim E — Google review
There are several ways to see the sites in Devil's Garden. Each route leads to different and longer destinations. The highlight among those is the Landscape Arch. The shortest way to see it is an out-and-back to a fenced observation area. Be sure to explore and find the spot underneath the arch. Most of the trail is paved.
Gordon S — Google review
A beautiful hike that's doable for most! Did this hike myself and it took about 45 min at a slow, comfortable pace. There are a few decent inclines so a walking stick may be beneficial. I started this hike around 9am on a weekday in June and the parking area was nearly full. It was already quite warm too (~80°) so as with most hikes in Arches during the summer, you'll want to start EARLY! And don't forget your water bottle 😉
Brianna W — Google review
In our view, the most impressive sandstone arch in the entire park, as well as the world. Here you are standing in front of the longest arch in the world, stretching an impressive 306 feet across at the base and a mere 6 feet in diameter at its narrowest point. This natural wonder is a must-see arch for anyone visiting Arches National Park. In 1991, a large slab approximately 73 feet long fell from beneath the arch and that is why no one can hike to the base due to safety concerns. Stunning arch.
Thomas B — Google review
It is a thin but long arch. the arch area is protected by fences, so you cannot get close to the arch. The best time to see the arch may be later afternoon when the sunlights come from back of the arch. There is also another arch behind this front big arch, which may be overlooked. It seems this arch could crush any time, kind of dangerous, which is the reason it is protected by fence to avoid visitors getting too close to it.
Ken X — Google review
Easy 2mile trail, beautiful October weather, so glad we experienced it, looking to do more hikes next visit. It was cool so water wasn't an issue.
James D — Google review
Get an early timed entry. It gets hot quickly. Devil's garden hike is very nice. A little crowded but not bad. All the different arches are beautiful... Don't miss partition. Arch. Probably one of the prettiest in my humble opinion.
JC W — Google review
Phenomenal natural bridge in Arches National Park. Definitely a must see! This arch is easy accessible. If you hike further, you can see some additional arches (such as the Navajo Arch and the double O Arch), but these are more difficult to reach. However, the Pine Tree Arch on the other side of Devils Garden is also easy accessible and definitely worth your time!

Double O Arch is a stunning sandstone formation located in Arches National Park. It can be reached via a challenging hike that offers the opportunity to see several other arches along the trail, including Landscape, Partition, Navajo, Private, Pine Tree, and Tunnel Arches. The hike can range from 1.9 miles to 7.9 miles depending on which arches you choose to visit.
Located at the end of the Devil's Garden Trail this unique landmark features two stacked arches. One of the lesser crowded sites as it requires a moderately strenuous hike on top of fins with 100-foot drop offs. Well worth the hike in my humble opinion!
Luis D — Google review
Double O Arch is a 4.2-mile out-and-back hike and is considered a moderately challenging route. Double O Arch is a natural rock formation with two arches. This formation is the second biggest arch in the Devil's Garden area.
Stewart C — Google review
Great rock formations, it’s quite a hike but if you want to see bigger ones, go check double arch. The hike made it worth it tho!
Robert B — Google review
The main reward for hiking the devils garden trail. This set of arches is pretty impressive, to say the least. You get a glimpse and the best distance photo spot as you round the corner off a rock traverse section. You know you're close when you find the boulder that is barely hanging onto the trail path. You can climb in the lower arch to get pictures of the kids. The climb into the arch is like a slide, so they might need a helping hand. There are shadded areas to rest and break out snacks to recharge for the hike back or forward. The main area around the arch is a sand pit, so mind your footing.
Adam C — Google review
This is a unique double arch at the end of the Devil's Garden trail. We did an out-and-back from the Devil's Garden Trailhead, which was really nice hike. Be aware that the trail becomes much more strenuous after Landscape Arch, with steep, rocky sections that require scrambling over them, route-finding with cairns and exposure to drop-offs. It is uncrowded past Landscape Arch. It is not for the inexperienced or out-of-shape hiker. Take plenty of water. It was pretty warm when we hiked it in late Sept 2023.
David L — Google review
This was a very nice morning walk, deer's and critters along the trail, which has very very nice views from the top. A good breakfast would be a good idea before doing this trail to the Double O' Arches , enough water would be recommended for the round trip.
Joe — Google review
This is a pretty cool Arch. And the trail to get there is pretty cool as well. It really does involve some parts that would be terrifying for anyone with a fear of heights. You walk on the top of one of the rock fins you've been looking at all day, with sheer drop in either side. And you'd better learn to trust your shoes on the slick rock, or you'll never make it. But with all that, it's doable, enjoyable, and filled with beautiful views of the park. Double O is almost an anti climax after the hike to get there.
Christopher M — Google review
Difficult hike but Kids above 6 or 7 years can do this easily. A lot of rock scrambling. Make sure to stay on track. Have to follow cairns at a couple of spots.

Sand Dune Arch is a sandstone formation with a shaded, ground-level arch that can be accessed via a beach-like trail of red sand. It's part of the Devils Garden area in Arches National Park, which features several other notable arches along the trail. Visitors can choose to hike up to 7.9 miles to see all seven different arches or opt for a shorter 1.
Sand Dune Arch is a short, easy walk that leads you to a truly magical spot tucked between towering sandstone fins. The cool, shaded area feels like a secret hideaway in the desert—perfect for a mid-day break from the heat. The soft, fine sand underfoot gives it a beach-like feel, which kids (and adults) will love. The arch itself isn’t massive, but its secluded location and unique surroundings make it really special. It’s a great stop if you’re short on time or looking for something quick and memorable. The trail is flat and accessible, making it ideal for families with young kids. Go early or later in the day to avoid crowds and enjoy the peaceful atmosphere. The narrow canyon walls offer fantastic photo ops with beautiful light and shadow play. Kids will enjoy climbing around the sandy area and exploring the rock formations. Definitely worth adding to your list—it’s a small detour with a big payoff.
Nan K — Google review
This is simply an amazing location inside the park and is only a short hike from the parking lot. Here you will be walking through a sandy wonderland, surrounded by towering fins of rust-hued rock, and stumbling upon a natural marvel that'll leave you awestruck. Further in, you will find a small arch off to the right side and a perfect location for a photo. Like all the other trails in the park, dogs are not allowed.
Thomas B — Google review
We really loved it! It was so much fun walking between those tall rocks on the cool sand. The red sandstone formations were stunning the shapes were just amazing. Such a beautiful place all around.

This hike was easy and was cooler than everything else by a noticeable amount. The kids did get very sandy. We had a great time.

Amazing! My favorite place in Arches. Great, easy stroll through shaded canyon with fins on either side. Fun!

Really cool. Go during sundown. You won't need a reservation to get into the park, it's cooler, and the lighting is amazing.
Bryan H — Google review
The most kid friendly arch and hike in the entire park. Why you might ask, sand, lots and lots of red sand. This short hike has a fun slot canyon that takes you into a large area filled with sand. The arch is small and looks like two birds kissing. If you hike in here, be prepared for kids not wanting to leave. Also, be prepared to have sand everywhere, so when you get back to the car, you will need to clean out your shoes.

Courthouse Towers is a remarkable geological formation located in Arches National Park, featuring stone columns and spires that resemble skyscrapers. The area is home to several notable features such as Balanced Rock, The Windows Section, Delicate Arch, Fiery Furnace, and Devils Garden. Visitors can also explore landmarks like Three Gossips, Skyline Arch, La Sal Mountain Viewpoint, and Panorama Point on guided tours.
We stopped at the Courthouse Towers on our way into the park. These towering rock formations are yet another example of the amazing geological sandstone rock formations you will encounter when visiting arches. There is a 1.8 mile moderately difficult (Non Accessible) trail that leads from the parking area back to the Park Avenue Viewpoint. Still no arches yet but these rock formations are well worth the stop.
Ray W — Google review
The towers are part of a larger collection of tall Entrada Sandstone columns that are part of the Park Avenue section of the park. They are named after its reminiscence to the tall buildings lining Park Avenue in New York City. Some of the formations that are part of this collection include Park Avenue, The Organ, Tower of Babel, Sheep Rock and Three Gossips. The best place to view all the above formations is from the Courthouse Towers Viewpoint and Trailhead.
Thomas B — Google review

Quick stop and go spot inside the park. The courthouse monolithics make you put the size of these behemoths in perspective. Make sure to checkout the very interesting plaque here showing a potential fallen arch across the road.
Falak — Google review
Arches National Park is an astonishing natural wonder, with Courthouse Towers standing out as one of its most spectacular features. The towering red rock formations create a breathtaking landscape that's both awe-inspiring and humbling. What's particularly impressive is how clean and well-maintained the park is, despite millions of visitors. The combination of natural arches, rugged terrain, and stunning vistas makes Courthouse Towers a must-see destination within this iconic park.

The La Sal Mountains Viewpoint is a must-see spot in Arches National Park, offering stunning views of the La Sal Mountains and famous rock formations like Three Gossips and Courthouse Towers. The viewpoint provides 360-degree views with different natural features in every direction, making it an ideal location to witness breathtaking sunrises and sunsets. While the uneven slickrock surface may make it less accessible than other sites, its proximity to the park entrance makes it a convenient stop for visitors.
My fist stop coming into the park! Across the street from the parking lot you see the big rock formation that was very unique, and in the distance you see the another unique rock formation, binoculars would of helped with that one though and the mountains in background. Four very large snow capped mountains in the background. Just a nice pull off with surrounding views here. Not sure if there was any hikes, I didn’t really see any, but also didn’t stick around long because I had the whole park planned and many things to see that day. Still worth the stop though!
Josh P — Google review
Very picturesque and looks like a painting. The red and yellow sandstone contrasted perfectly against the backdrop of snow covered peaks and blue skies. Stop here to get a feel of the beauty of the desert landscape that lies ahead.
Falak — Google review
This viewpoint is located approximately 3.5 – 4.0 miles from the main entrance to the park along the Arches Scenic Drive. Look for La Sal Mountains Viewpoint sign on the east side of the road. The road will take you up to a one-way tear-drop parking area with plenty of parking spaces most of the time. This scenic spot offers a stunning panorama of the surrounding landscape, with the Las Sal Mountains rising us in the distance. On a perfectly clear day, which it was, we could see the Teton Range in Wyoming. We would recommend this place as one of the last stops when leaving the park with other great times being, sunrise and sunset if you wish to be awestruck by Mother Nature’s masterpiece. Note, there are no other Park Services at this location
Thomas B — Google review
Absolutely breathtaking! I visited La Sal Mountains Viewpoint in Arches National Park and found myself awestruck by the panorama. The vibrant red rock formations contrasted against the snow-capped La Sal Mountains created a scene of unparalleled natural beauty. The viewpoint is easily accessible from the main park road, and the short walk offers incredible rewards. As I gazed out over this immense desert landscape, I felt a deep sense of wonder and appreciation for the power of nature. If you're visiting Arches National Park, don't miss this essential stop!

God, these species. It’s something incredible, to devote only one day to this place is a crime. The spirit of eternity and without extreme spaces, or a dream come true, or I got to Mars.
Best D — Google review
Another absolutely stunning place in Southeastern Utah for you to gays right into the heart of god. Truly, not a religious person but this thing is absolutely breathtaking. The drive-thru here and the views are so beautiful you're in danger every 5 Seconds as you go over the center line. I wouldn't recommend a tour bus but ensure that you've got somebody trustworthy in the passenger seat helping you stay where you need to be. Bring plenty of water and get some sunblock on before you head out cuz it's very warm, if you're from New Mexico you'll be right in your natural habitat, minus Green Chile.
Jeremy Z — Google review
Gorgeous views!! Great place to see the sunset and to stargaze!

First look out point when you get into the Arches National Park. The views are amazing. This a good spot to start off the Arches experience. Hiking Trails
The Devil's Garden Trailhead serves as the gateway to an exhilarating hiking experience in Arches National Park. This popular loop trail, which can be somewhat strenuous, leads adventurers through a stunning array of sandstone formations and seven remarkable arches. Among these are the iconic Landscape Arch, known for its impressive span, and the breathtaking Navajo and Partition Arches that lie just beyond it—definitely worth the extra effort! While many visitors opt for a shorter 1.
I love hiking the Devil's Garden loop trail. There are so many arches, fins, and other awesome rock formations to see. I did the loop clock wise because when I started at 7am in the morning, it's not crowded on the popular spots and it's easier going this way on the primitive sector of the trail. The branch to the Private Arch was not clearly marked and I almost missed it until I saw another hiker coming back on it.
Alvin W — Google review
Favorite trial that I was able to do in Arches. Started early in the morning late November, and there was only one other car in the parking lot. Scenery is amazing, and it was super surreal and peaceful hiking alone.
Andrew T — Google review
Hiking Devil’s Garden in Arches National Park is an unforgettable adventure that showcases the raw beauty of Utah’s desert landscape. This trail, located in the northern part of the park, is one of the most popular and diverse hikes in Arches, offering a mix of stunning geological formations, challenging terrain, and breathtaking vistas. I hiked the full Devil’s Garden Loop, including the Primitive Trail, in October 2025, and here’s my take on the experience. Trail Overview
The Devil’s Garden Trail system offers options for hikers of varying skill levels. The main trail is a 7.9-mile loop (including the Primitive Trail), though shorter out-and-back segments are available for those seeking a less strenuous experience. The main attractions are the eight natural arches along the route, including the iconic Landscape Arch, Tunnel Arch, Pine Tree Arch, Double O Arch, and others. Rated as moderate to strenuous, the full loop involves some scrambling, narrow ledges, and sandy sections, with a total elevation gain of about 1,000 feet. The Experience
Starting early in the morning from the Devil’s Garden trailhead, I was immediately struck by the dramatic red rock scenery. The first mile is well-maintained and accessible, leading to Landscape Arch, one of the longest natural arches in the world at over 300 feet. Its delicate span is awe-inspiring, though signs warn of its fragility after past rockfalls. This section is great for families or casual hikers, as it’s relatively flat and wide. Continuing past Landscape Arch, the trail gets more adventurous. The path to Double O Arch involves climbing over slickrock and navigating some exposed sections, which add a thrill but require caution, especially in windy conditions. The views from Double O Arch are worth the effort—two stacked arches framed against the vast desert expanse. I also took short spurs to Navajo Arch and Partition Arch, both offering quieter spots to soak in the scenery. Navajo Arch, in particular, feels like a hidden gem with its shaded, almost cave-like setting. The Primitive Trail, which completes the loop, is where things get wild. This less-traveled section is rugged, with uneven terrain, sandy washes, and some route-finding required. Cairns mark the way, but you’ll need to pay attention. I loved the solitude and the sense of exploration, but it’s not for everyone—proper hiking boots and plenty of water (at least 2-3 liters per person) are essential. The trail loops back through a mix of desert scrub and rock fins, offering a different perspective of the park’s geology. Devil’s Garden is a must-do for hikers visiting Arches National Park. The trail’s mix of iconic arches, rugged beauty, and varied terrain makes it one of the park’s crown jewels. Whether you stick to the easier out-and-back to Landscape Arch or tackle the full loop, you’re in for a visual feast. For me, the Primitive Trail’s sense of adventure and the sheer scale of the arches made this a 5-star hike. Just come prepared, respect the desert environment, and you’ll leave with memories of one of America’s most spectacular landscapes. Rating: 5/5 stars
Jacob M — Google review
If you're an avid and serious hiker, I recommend the full loop including the primitive part of the trail. Trail is definitely less obvious in a few spots, but it was easy enough, super fun rock scrambling, some sections I thought "no way that's the path," and it was. Amazing. If you've been to the Needles in Canyonlands... This trail reminds me of that. Views for miles!
Zachary R — Google review
A big loop with multiple short spokes to viewpoints and arches. The colors and vistas of the canyons and mountains are stunning. It’s an easy walk to the first several arches. It gets more interesting deeper in and particularly on the primitive trail, where there is some scrambling. The crowds thin out dramatically past the initial arches. The whole trail with all of the add-ons is around 10 miles.
Arkady — Google review
This is a pretty rough trail. It contains stretches with steep rock surfaces to "crawl" up or down. Not recommended if one is afraid of heights. But the scenery and rock formations make it worthwhile.

Skyline Arch is a stunning natural formation located in the northern area of the park, near Devil's Garden. The arch can be easily accessed via a short and virtually flat out-and-back trail, offering great views along the way. Despite its beauty, Skyline Arch has undergone sudden dramatic change when a massive boulder fell from it in 1940, doubling its width.
While not one of the more popular arches in the park, Skyline Arch is yet another wonderful and unique arches in its own right. The arch is visible from the parking area viewpoint but is also accessible by a fairly easy .4 mile trail (out and back). If you decide to trek out to the arch there are some steep areas requiring a little scrambling. As with most of the arches in the park the area landscape around Skyline Arch is spectacular.
Ray W — Google review
This stunning arch can be viewed easily from the road or by taking a short walk from the parking lot to the arch itself. This natural wonder is approximately 70 feet tall and 33 feet wide and is an awesome introduction to the many arches you will find here in Arches National Park.
Thomas B — Google review
Quick little east walk to this one. Skyline arch. Due to time I only walked a little close to it so I had time to hike devils garden. Still worth the quick stop whether to see it from the road or to walk all the way up. I wish I did fully had time to walk up to because this one did look very amazing!

Very beautiful arch. Short 20 mins hiking makes the entire experience even more pleasurable.

The Skyline Arch is one of the many unique land formations that you will see during your visit to Arches National Park just north of Moab, Utah. This particular arch is just south of Devil's Garden Campground. You can visit Skyline Arch by way of a short and easy .3 kilometre walk. Do take note of the historical photos near the trailhead sign. They show the arch before and after a large boulder fell in 1940, doubling the size of the arch formation here. In the end, we found this to be a nice and easy arch to visit, a good short walk for those with families and those seeking lighter hikes during their visit to the NP. Note: You are just south of the campground and picnic area at Devils Garden. This is a good spot for day time visitors to grab a spot for lunch in between area hikes.
Brad — Google review
Skyline Arch was a nice surprise for us—it’s smaller than some of the other famous arches in the park, but it’s still incredibly beautiful and unique. The best part? It’s super easy to access. The hike is only about half a mile one way, mostly flat, and perfect for anyone who doesn’t want to spend hours on the trails, or someone who is older and not as agile. We didn’t expect it to be so dramatic once we got close. The arch sits up high on the rock face, and you get this cool view of it framed against the sky, which gives it a really striking presence. The fact that it’s high up makes it feel a little more special, like you’ve earned the view—even though the hike is so easy. The thing that really stood out for us was the feeling of solitude. While other spots in the park can be crowded, we didn’t see many people here, so we had some quiet moments to enjoy the arch in peace. After some time, two boys started climbing the arch, which wasn't cool. They were very reckless. People were talking to them and they didn't care. So dangerous for the rocks and the humans.
Patricia — Google review
Great spot for star photography, as it's in the back of the park away from town. The skies here are some of the darkest in the country.

Broken Arch is a striking sandstone formation located in the Devils Garden Campground Area of Arches National Park. Despite its name, the arch is not actually broken but rather features a central crack that gives it a unique fractured appearance. Visitors can reach Broken Arch via a 1-mile hike from either the Park Road or the campground, with an option to take the Sand Dune trailhead for a pleasant walk through grassland.
Pretty flat walk from the parking lot. It took my family about 30. minutes to reach it, with a 5 and 7 year old. Walk through the other side of the arch and it's BEAUTIFUL! We went in the evening and then stayed late to do some star gazing. I've never seen so many stars without a telescope! Highly recommend.

I enjoyed a beautiful sunrise at Broken Arch. It's an easy half mile walk. What a great place to start the day. The hike is easy and family friendly.
Stewart C — Google review
Broken Arch was one of the highlights of my visit to Arches National Park! The hike is relatively easy and great for families or anyone looking for a less crowded experience. The arch itself isn’t actually broken—just a unique formation that gives it a distinctive look. The trail offers beautiful views, desert vegetation, and classic red rock landscapes all around. What I really appreciated was how peaceful it felt compared to some of the more popular arches. You can take your time, enjoy the surroundings, and even explore the nearby Sand Dune Arch if you want to extend your hike a little. Highly recommend visiting early or late in the day for the best lighting and cooler temps. There’s some mild scrambling toward the end if you go through the arch, but nothing too difficult. Trail markers are clear, and the loop option adds variety to the return journey. Great photo opportunities throughout, especially with the arch framing the wide-open sky. We spotted some wildlife tracks and interesting rock patterns along the way. Overall, a perfect mix of tranquility, scenery, and a touch of adventure.

Broken arch is in a mile from the parking lot, past sand dune arch. The trail is not challenging, and like all the trails in arches national park it offers amazing views of the area. Once you get to the arch, you can hike under and throw it to either continue the trail or head back. The better pictures we felt were looking north after you walked through the arch. Hiking back from the arch, make sure to keep an eye out for tracks in the sand of the animals in the area.
Adam C — Google review
A great destination between Sand Dune Arch and Tapestry Arch. Mostly flat and incredibly scenic. Be sure to finish the loop to the campground and return to Sand Dune Arch through the slot canyon.
Scott W — Google review
I really enjoyed visiting this arch. I went in the early morning, and it was so peaceful and serene. It's about a 0.5 mile (0.8 km) hike from the parking lot and about 1 mile round-trip. Pretty easy hike, but please mind your steps over uneven terrain. I saw bird, mice, and snake tracks along the pathway as well.
Derreck M — Google review
Broken Arch is quite a nice one to visit. The trail out from Sand Dune Arch is easy and flat, if a bit sandy. It's good for a trail run. The map shows an entire loop that goes around the area, but the piece to the upper left that would lead you to the campground parking lot is a bit hard to follow and requires climbing over a fair amount of rocks and finding your own path, so I don't think most people would enjoy it.
Dean M — Google review
Cool arch that requires about a mile long hike in order to get to it. Have to walk through a lot of the grassland and then lots of sand. There is no shade in the grass land but there is some closer to the arch. Saw some lizards on the way to the arch. The arch is pretty cool for pictures.

Corona Arch, a stunning red sandstone formation located just outside Arches National Park, offers a less crowded and more intimate experience for visitors. Accessible via a moderately challenging 1.5-mile hiking trail, the arch provides a captivating backdrop for photography and elopement ceremonies. Nearby Bowtie Arch complements the grandeur of Corona Arch, making it an ideal final destination after exploring Arches National Park.
Very nice afternoon hike up to the arch. There's just enough shade under outcroppings to provide respite. The chain assisted climb was not a problem even with my tender 70 year old knees.
David S — Google review
Moderate hike with really fun features like crossing the railroad tracks, a ladder, and steep slick rock steps with a chain. Really rewarding and lots of places to take breaks. I would recommend this to anyone going to Moab. 3 arches visible on this hike.
Katherine O — Google review
An absolute must do and in the Moab area. This is a relatively short hike, just over a mile each way. The hike is relatively easy. The last section is a little tricky but if you just go slow, it’s no problem. It’s so fun to be able to walk up under the arch and see it from both sides. We’ve been here multiple times and keep coming back over and over each time we come to Moab with someone new.

This is such a beautiful hike. It’s 30 minutes from Moab and starts right next to the Colorado River. There are no fees. It’s family and dog friendly. It gets busy but it’s so large you don’t feel overwhelmed by the people. It’s spring break so lots of families, dogs and students out in hoards out today.
Stewart C — Google review
Amazing experience with my dog. The scenery is gorgeous, the trail is a little bit challenging for the big dogs, I’m talking about the real crawling period, but my Coco made it.
Am D — Google review
This is one of my favorite short hikes in Moab. Quick, beautiful, and with stunning views. You can also turn it into a trail run.
Esma G — Google review
Easy hike with beautiful views! The trail is easy to follow. It has a steep spot where hikers can get bottlenecked. Most of the tougher part of the trail is slickrock. Wear good shoes with good grip. Not the most dog friendly trails but it's doable. Go check out Pinto Arch as well, it's worth the extra trek!
Jason R — Google review
You will find the TH near the bend of Colorado River on Potash Rd located north of Moab past Arches NP. Plenty of space for parking with parking lots on both sides of the road, plus vault toilets. The hike is considered moderately difficult as it ascends through dusty desert terrain until you view the Bowtie and Corona Arches from a distance. At that point you will climb chained stairs and a ladder onto slip rock to get closer. Corona is big! 105' tall and 140' wide at its base. Twice as large as Delicate Arch. This is a must do, especially if you don't want the national parks.

Petrified Dunes Viewpoint is a must-see stop on the scenic drive in Arches National Park. Located between Courthouse Towers and the Windows Area, this unique formation was created when ancient sand dunes solidified into stone and later eroded away. While there are no designated hiking trails, visitors can wander out onto the dunes for a private moment to admire the park's beauty and escape the crowds.
We were finishing off our trip around Arches National Park when we pulled over at this location to witness an incredible thunderstorm with rainbow and sunshine. The expanse of Arches meant that you could see significant distances in all direction and witness the drama of various weather patterns. This as a superb way to finish off our visit.
Themevify — Google review
While very cool, just not that into dunes. Everyone come to see the arches, not the dunes
Robin I — Google review
Difficult to notice the features here unless you have a guide or a keen eyed expert with you to pinpoint the Petrified sand dunes against the backdrop.
Falak — Google review
This pull-off viewpoint offers a view of the petrified dunes to the east along the Arches National Park Drive. These formations are the result of ancient sand dunes hardened into sone under the overlying subsequent material, which later eroded away. There is also an interpretive display at this site explaining how fragile the desert floor is to the health of the desert. In addition, if you look off to the eastern horizon, you will be able to see the impressive La Sal Mountain Range. From this viewpoint, if you are driving south, you will find another pullout on the west side of the road. If you look to the south , you will see what we have named the “Lying Lady,” which looks like a woman laying on a chaise lounge with her head turned away from you, it is amazing (see photos). Finally, use caution since there are very few parking spaces and beware of on-coming traffic.

Nice viewpoint on Arches Scenic Drive with views of the petrified dunes feature and the La Sal Mountains in the background. Not my favorite viewpoint along the Scenic Road, but it's certainly worth stopping for a minute or two to check out the views

Arches National Park, nestled in the heart of Utah, is a breathtaking wonderland characterized by its stunning eroded sandstone landscape. Home to over 2,000 natural rock arches, this park showcases an array of extraordinary geological features including weathered rocky towers and narrow fins that resemble shark-like formations. Among its most iconic sights are the magnificent Landscape Arch—renowned as the world's longest rock arch—and the striking Delicate Arch, which stands proudly as a symbol of natural beauty.
Arches National Park is absolutely breathtaking! The stunning rock formations and natural arches are truly awe-inspiring. It's a must-visit for anyone who loves nature and adventure. The trails are well-marked and offer incredible views at every turn. Highly recommend exploring this natural wonder!

Pine Tree Arch is a unique red rock formation with an irregular, ground-level opening located along the Devils Garden trail. It can be reached by taking a short side trail from the main path. The arch is part of a series of natural wonders in the area, including Tunnel Arch and other notable formations like Navajo Arch and Partition Arch. The hike to Pine Tree Arch offers stunning views and takes about 3 hours to complete round trip.
The Pine Tree Arch trail is an easy .4 mile, out and back, spur trail off of the Devils Garden Trail. The Pine Tree Arch is a ground level arch through a stone wall and is a fun stop in the Devils Garden area. Offering spectacular views of the surrounding landscape and stunning rock formations.
Ray W — Google review
To reach the arch from the parking lot, just follow the Devil’s Garden Trail until you reach a bifurcation in the trail. Follow the sign to the right, which is the Pine Tree Arch Trail, down the hill and keep left until you reach this impressive ground-level arch embedded in a sandstone fin. The arch has a span measuring approximately 150 feet and is named after the various pine trees that can be seen under and around the base of the arch.
Thomas B — Google review
Pine tree arch, little turn off right at the beginning of the trailhead, easy little walk down the hill and back up to get back on the trail to continue the hike, there’s also another arch before this one. Worth the small turn off!
Josh P — Google review
this was my favorite arch of the arches i saw! you can walk under it and touch it. The area has good views too and the trees around it kinda look like they’re from bible time vibes 🤙
Amber C — Google review
Easy walk wonderful trail and a beautiful arch. When you walk trough the Arch to left hand side and looking up you will see the arch like elephant.
Phrawoody V — Google review
This arch has the shape you see in a lot of old posters of a car driving through it. Accept this time, there is a pine tree growing at the base. You can't go under the arch, so make sure to stay back a bit to get a full view of the arch. If looking for the best time to photograph this arch, I would say early am or late in the afternoon would give you the best light.
Adam C — Google review
The trail to the Pine Tree Arch has great views of the Pine Tree Arch. It is an easy hike to get there. Lots of great photo spots. It is an unusual arch with opening at ground level. So you can see through arch the landscape. If it is very windy, the sand can be blown up. Best to do the hike early in the day or towards the evening. You can get some great photos here.

Skyline Arch Trailhead is conveniently located in the park's parking lot, offering easy access to the northwest towards Skyline Arch and the campground. Despite being less popular, it's a pleasant trail that provides a unique perspective of the arch and its intriguing history. The small pull-off parking area is adequate for visitors, with the arch visible from the road. This short 0.
The Skyline Arch Trail is a fairly easy, .4 mile out and back, trail with a little elevation gain and is accessible from a parking area. It takes about 5 minutes to get to the Arch however the arch is visible from the parking lot viewpoint. If you venture all the way to the arch there is a little bit of scrambling. When we there the traffic was light as Skyline Arch is not one of the more popular arches, but well worth the stop as it is a wonderful rock formation in its own right and the surrounding area is beautiful.
Ray W — Google review
Most trail heads in Arches NP can be compact (15-60 minutes). Good views. Cool arch. This is a Mild / moderate hike that most older folks with solid mobility can do (ie our 80 year old pops who walks daily). I think it for the three of us l, we spent 15-20 minutes one way and 15 minutes hanging around 7pm with minimal tourists, and then back 15-20 minutes. So we spent less than an hour here. Note: April 2025: temp low 70s / high 60s on a Monday early evening. Parking was easy — so on a summer day it would be packed.
Justin L — Google review
This trail is located are off Arches National Park Road and is an easy 0.4-mile out and back trail taking approximately 10 minutes. This is another popular trail since it is very short and easy, so you are likely to encounter other hikers while exploring. This trail will bring up close and personal with this stunning arch. The trailhead begins at the road and there are no dogs allowed. There is parking along both sides of the road, but there are only pullouts, so be cautious of on-coming vehicle traffic.
Thomas B — Google review
We were hiking and had a baby with us so we couldn’t go very far but it looks like you can also get your it from the back side at Devils Garden Campground
Teresa L — Google review
You can see this one from the road, but it worth the walk up to it. I would consider this one of the easier hikes, although it is very steep in places.
Robin I — Google review
One of the easiest trail in the park to see an arch. Not very popular with little people but its a nice arch to visit after different hikes and to add to your list. There isn't a parking lot but rather pull off parking. The history between the arch is pretty cool too and how it changed!

Upon crossing the Colorado River Bridge, park your vehicle on the right side and proceed east to reach the base of rock cliffs adorned with petroglyphs. These ancient carvings were created by Archaic, Ute and Pueblo Indians. For those interested in immersing themselves in history, a visit to Courthouse Wash Rock Panel is a must. Here, one can admire pictographs believed to have been left by Archaic Indians as well as Puebloans or Utes.
Here is out of Arches National Park. No entry fee. We could park free parking. From the parking, little walking on the bike road, and little steep unpaved way soon you could see the wall painting. We could access very close.

Great place to see Petroglyphs and Pictographs. It’s an easy walk up to the info board, but from there lost the trail and went straight up towards the cliff which required a little scrambling. Found the trail on the way down - from info board it goes left around big boulder.
Rob B — Google review
Petroglyphs right by the road! Free parking! Make the stop if you’re going through Moab.
Kent 1 — Google review
Really cool place. It takes a bit of climbing to get to, but it’s totally worth it! Don’t be fooled by the fact that there is no trail up to the drawings. Just make sure not to touch, draw on, or disturb the petroglyphs. (:
Evan S — Google review
The directions were confusing to get to the petroglyphs, but once located at the top of the rocks it was a pleasant stop. We really enjoyed climbing up to them. Some petroglyphs were lower down so be careful not to accidentally touch them looking at the ones above. Once near the petroglyphs there was a nice view looking back over the road and town.
Amy O — Google review
Fabulous! Both Barrier-style pictographs and petroglyphs. There is a sign by Courthouse wash directing to the path to approach the wall. A little tricky to follow but cairns were in place to climb up the slick rock outcroppings.
Nancy R — Google review
Had a great time, short little early morning hike. Great overlook.
Shane H — Google review
The petroglyphs here are actually quite good, though there aren't many of them. Unfortunately, the trail to get to them isn't well marked. A single sign board stands before the cliffs with photos and a description, this is as close as you can get using the path. From that distance the petroglyphs are difficult to see. It's possible to climb right up to the cliff and get a very good view of the petroglyphs, but don't be fooled-- there is no path and you will have to do some rock climbing, which can be tough if you aren't used to it. The close up view is much better than from the sign board. Parking used to be available across the road, but no longer-- the closest parking area is now the Courthouse Wash Trail Parking, a bit north.

Tapestry Arch is a fascinating natural wonder located in Arches National Park. It can be reached by hiking from Devils Garden Campground to Broken Arch or from Sand Dune Arch to Devils Garden Campground. The trail offers stunning views of the desert landscape and various arches, including Sand Dune Arch, Broken Arch, and Tapestry Arch. The hike is family-friendly and provides an uncrowded experience, allowing visitors to enjoy a picnic lunch amidst the breathtaking scenery.
We stopped to see the Tapestry Arch on our way to Broken Arch. There is a short (quarter mile, out and back) side trail leading to The Tapestry Arch from the Broken Arch Trail. The trail was very quiet as there are not that many visitors to this Arch. We enjoyed the quiet and surrounding landscape. It was worth the stop.
Ray W — Google review
My favorite arch in this area! Because its a short hike, many less people make their way out here, but its absolutely worth it. It's beautiful arch at distance - and you can get up close and personal to it. Highly recommend the primitive trail through the campground which has some fun scenery on the way back to Sand Dune Arch.
Kishore H — Google review
The most direct way if you want to go to see the Tapestry Arch only is to park beside the restrooms within the Campgrounds. Follow the trail until you see the arch, it is a bit unclear and sandy so follow any shoe prints you see. If you are careful and brave, you can climb over the big rock formations along the path and proceed onto a small, short trail directly to the front of the arch.
David C — Google review
Gorgeous Arch! We hiked from the campground to Tapestry Arch. I loved the spots on the hike where we had to watch for Carins along the way. It adds such a feeling of a scavenger hunt to a hike. Going from one to the next searching for the next one. We kept going here to Broken Arch and then back to the Campground. Probably the trail from Broken to the campground was my favorite for it was just so pictureques. So beautiful.

Easy and short hike if you start from the campground. There’s not a ton of extra parking in the campground though. This one was awesome to go to at sunset.

Our family did the Full Day Colorado River rafting excursion with the BBQ lunch at Red Cliff Lodge! This trip was amazing. We got picked up and dropped off at our Resort before and after the adventure and our guides were amazing! It was a HOT day and perfect for the river. This is a very mild rafting experience and was perfect for our 12yr old and 9 year old that have never done any type of river adventure before. Kalli was our individual guide and was great. This is the perfect trip for a family with minimal to no experience.

Awesome canyoneering trip with Sam & Ben! My wife & I are fairly experienced hikers & climbers, but this was our first canyoneering experience. We were so glad Moab Adventure center allows 2-person trips, because we had a private guided experience through Bow & Arrow Canyon. It was amazing. After the mercifully short on-road approach to the trailhead, we loved the hiking across interesting & moderately challenging rocks. Our guides were a wealth of knowledge, besides being entertaining to talk with. They clearly love their work, & work well together. . Then we got to the rappels. So. Much. Fun. Sam & Ben’s instruction was clear, making our descents safe. Even though it was my wife’s first time rappelling she was able to feel comfortable after the first two. The route ended perfectly with a short jaunt to the van. We didn’t need to bring anything, since Moab Adventure Center supplied everything to include water bottles & snacks. I would definitely go on more trips with them!

I'll definitely do it again when I come back!

Overalll: We had an incredible canyoneering and rappelling experience with the Moab Adventure Center. Due to weather calling for bad rain, our adventure was rescheduled on a day that they normally have off. The guides were exceptionally professional and knowledgeable, ensuring safety while sharing fascinating insights about the terrain and general area. I highly recommend this business for its variety of adventure packages and because of the highly trained and professional staff. Business: The location is easily found off of the main road that cuts through Moab and there was plenty of parking. They have a variety of items to purchase, to include equipment and clothing for some of the various excursions that they offer. The business also has clean bathrooms to use before the trip and several changing rooms. Package: Moab Canyoneering - Bow and Arrow Canyon. Guides: Sam and Canyon Highlights: We received a hiking bag that carries all of the necessary equipment needed for rappelling and safety. They also gave us each a water bottle that we kept after the trip. We had two other couples join us for a total of six guests and two guides. You get to see petroglyphs, wildlife, and awesome views. The guides covered so many things about the history of the area, canyoneering, and other offered experiences. Recommendation: Have an alternate (or two) date/time range in mind when you are locking on your adventure. The weather predictions changed several times over the course of a day and caused our original date to need to move, but we built in that flexibility. Luckily, the company offered our adventure on a day they normally have off.

I purchased three separate excursions with Moab and they all exceeded my expectations. Day 1 was the Hummer Sunset Safari which was great fun and included stops with great views of Moab, the Colorado river and Arches National Park (pictures below). The driver Chad was gave an exciting ride and his knowledge of the area is great. Everyone had a fantastic time. Day 2 we took the Arches National Park Sunset Discovery tour, which is the best way to see the park for your first time. Afterwards, you can go back on your own and know where to go to see and hike to the places you want with an in depth knowledge. Our guide Nicole is a geologist and provided excellent insight to the arches and rock formations. A 4 hour tour well worth the money. (pictures below) Day 3 we did the Sunrise Hot Air Balloon Adventure and it did not disappoint. Great views from 3000 up in the sky. The crew are all great and our pilot was outstanding. We booked a morning bus tour of Arches national park in conjunction with our Rocky Mountaineer Red rocks to the Rockies trip. It was the highlight of our whole trip. The van picked us up right at the hotel and dropped us off at same at the end. Capacity was capped at 8 (10?), but it was us and one other couple. The tour was OUTSTANDING. The guide, and sadly I did not get his name, was unbelievably knowledgeable about the park, the history, etc. It was like having a 1:1 tour of plants, rocks, etc. Plus he was very kind and considerate. Answered questions and was very thoughtful. It was well worth the money and makes me interested in booking with them again. Loved it and highly recommend.

We had such a great time on our 4-hour Arches tour! Kim was an incredibly knowledgeable and enthusiastic guide—she shared so much fascinating history and insight about the park and answered all of our questions with ease. I felt like I learned so much during the experience. We also had a fun and friendly group in the van, which made the tour even more enjoyable. Kim was a true professional from start to finish. My wife and I both felt this tour was absolutely worth it—much better than trying to drive it ourselves. Highly recommended!

Hiking area
The Park Avenue Trailhead is the starting point for a popular two-mile hike that offers moderately difficult terrain. The trail descends steeply into a stunning canyon and continues on to the Courthouse Towers Viewpoint. Hikers can retrace their steps for a roundtrip experience or continue along the park road. The area is best visited in late winter or early spring to avoid crowds, and it provides picturesque views of giant formations with fewer people than on the main road.
I believe this is the first trailhead inside the park and is located on the north side of Arches National Park Road. There is a large, semi-circle parking lot with several handicapped parking spaces with limited oversized parking. There is also a bulletin board with helpful information about the trail and area, but there is no vault toilet at this location. The trail is very well-maintained and is the same trail you will follow out to the viewpoint. The trail is a 1.8 mile out-and-back or you can make it a one-way trip and be picked up at the Organ/Courthouse parking lot. This is considered an easy trail, especially if you are only doing it one-way, since it is mostly downhill from the parking lot. There are no dogs allowed, and the elevation gain is 308 feet (RT) and will take you approximately one hour.
Thomas B — Google review
A great view at the point. One can walk and continue the trail for a few hours well. A great spot to enjoy the rocks, its erosion, the magnitude of the mountain and the beautiful of nature as a whole.
Dhruv P — Google review
It's a magnificent place. A magnificent natural rock formation. It's a 5-minute drive. I recommend visiting in March-April or September-October. You'll see very slender rock columns. It's like a perfectly balanced rock, like a balance rock.
Dogu G — Google review
This is the first viewpoint, trailhead and trail after entering the Arches NP and is about 3.6 miles from the visitors center. The paved walkway to the viewpoint is accessible to wheelchairs. Beyond, this trail has a long flight of stairs and requires some walking on sand and uneven surfaces. The trail descends steeply into a spectacular canyon and continues to Courthouse Towers. For a roundtrip hike which is a 1.8 mile round trip with about 300 ft elevation change, retrace your steps along the trail rather than walking along the road. I will take between one to two hours of hiking. The view along the way is spectacular on both sides of the trail. Visitors named some of the rock features here "Queen Nefertiti," "Queen Victoria," and "Sausage Rock". Park Avenue Arch is visible from the parking lot, high up a rock wall on the right. To see light through the arch you need to be on the trail.

My first landing on Mars, very confused feelings. You feel like a bug in this alien world, perhaps the only thing that keeps connecting you with your planet is the availability of roads and small parking spaces)))
Best D — Google review
Absolutely stunning from start to finish! The towering red rock walls make you feel like you’re walking through a natural city skyline, hence the name. The light changes constantly painting the rocks in warm, vivid tones that feel almost unreal. The trail is short and easy to follow. Every turn is picture perfect. It’s the best mix of beauty, accessibility, and Moab. Don’t skip this one!
Amanda T — Google review
This trail can get overlooked because you’re in Arches and there’s no arches here. But what a view and nice, enjoyable hike. Easy hike overall, but all your elevation gain will be at the very end going back up the steps.
David H — Google review
The trail is relatively flat once you traverse the steps from the parking lot. There are a lot of steps from the first parking lot. It is an in and out hike that is worth doing!

Courthouse Towers Viewpoint And Trailhead is a popular spot for photographers in Arches National Park. It offers stunning views of the massive Courthouse Towers, Three Gossips, Sheep Rock, the Organ, and the Tower of Babel. The best time to capture these formations is shortly after sunrise. The viewpoint is located on Scenic Drive just past Park Avenue Viewpoint and Trail.
Very easy trail. Fabulous views of the giant formation. Fun walk that has a few fossils on the ground
H N — Google review
The road is beautiful. The arches themselves were not very impressive for us
Olya M — Google review
I arrived at the Courthouse Towers Viewpoint in the early morning and enjoyed the view by myself. The Organ, Three Gossips, and Tower of Babel are breathtaking formations in the glow of the early dawn.
Derreck M — Google review
One of the first viewpoint stops (and hike) you can make after entering Arches National Park is at the Park Avenue trailhead and Courthouse Towers. It is around 4 miles past the park entrance on Arches Scenic Drive. The trail is an easy 1-mile hike passing along a canyon floor flanked by towering rock formations on both sides. These are the Courthouse Towers, which are also quite visible from the roadside as well if you simply want to pull your vehicle over and admire them from there before proceeding to higher priority area of the park. The rock formations each have own unique name including the Tower of Babel, The Organ, Three Gossips and Sheep Rock. Roadside signage helps point out the landscape landmarks. Keep your eye out for these at the viewpoints if you don't have a hiking of guidebook for Arches NP with you.

Beautiful place. I really love this place
Subrata D — Google review
Good spot to stop after a long drive, take few amazing pictures, and make first impression of breathtaking rock formations.
A V — Google review
The Moab, just amazing. I honestly can’t wait to visit this area of the United States again. These amazingly tall rock formations are so spectacular.
Karen S — Google review
So beautiful and just interesting to think about how this whole area was formed

Bowtie Arch is a stunning natural wonder located near Corona Arch in Utah. The 2.4-mile hike to reach the arch is relatively easy and takes about 1 hour and 10 minutes to complete. While there are some climbing sections at the beginning and end of the trail, they are not overly challenging. The scenery surrounding Bowtie Arch is breathtaking, offering a less crowded alternative to other national parks in the area.
Cool arch that’s literally on the same trail on the Corona arch. The hike is marked by blue paint marks on the ground. The weather was perfect at the end of September. I would not have enjoyed it in the middle of summer though since there is basically no shade.
Heidi G — Google review
Bowtie Arch is near Corona Arch and done at the same time. It’s the standard pot-hole style of arch.
One of the best hikes and views in the area. If you are going around sunset I would suggest bringing a headlamp as it gets dark very quickly. Had to climb up a ladder and maneuver through some slightly high up areas but so worth it. Also minimal crowds compared to in the parks.
Katherine H — Google review
This is a perfect trail for you with your dog! Situated outside of the national park area but can get pretty busy in the later part of the day. There’s a place with a ladder with about 6 steps to climb up and your dog might have to go around or get a lift from you, but other than that, it’s a great trail! Do check the weather forecast as it can get pretty hot, we got lucky with an overcast sky!
Srikirti V — Google review
The hike was nice. Beautiful day. I took my pup, so we couldn't go all the way. Not very aerobically challenging.
Kent — Google review
This was a particularly unique arch, I have never seen one at that angle. What a treat. the trail has 3 arches so it is well worth the effort, despite the difficulty. We managed with toddlers, but didn't get past the rope portion. Recommended to anyone in the area
Chelsea B — Google review
Absolutely gorgeous hike up to bow tie arch. Very hot, and limited shade so bring plenty of water and snacks. Only took about an hour and a half round trip. Definitely worth it.
Madison T — Google review
I did this hike with my 6 and 8 year old kids. Wasn't difficult at all. We got there right before the sun was setting and walked back in the dark. Make sure your take a light if you go later because it gets dark! Beautiful and simple hike.

20Private Arch

Scenic spot
Private Arch is a secluded and charming natural formation located in the Devils Garden area. It offers a more peaceful and less crowded experience compared to other well-known arches in the park. The arch itself has a relatively small opening but exudes quaintness and tranquility. Accessible via a moderate hike branching off from the main trail leading to Landscape Arch, Private Arch may be slightly challenging to spot as it is tucked away off the primitive trail.
While not the best arch, it is still definitely worth a stop. It's a little ways off the trail, slightly hidden, but if you're looking for it, it's not too hard to find. I recommend stopping here and taking a rest. Most people don't make it to this point in the trail, so chances are you will be able to just relax and enjoy nature.
Travis H — Google review
Private Arch is a very apropos name, considering this was far and away the least crowded arch I saw in the entire park (full disclosure: I never made it to Tower Arch). The fact that this arch is found on the Primitive Trail rather than the Devil's Garden Route means that the only people visiting this spot are seasoned hikers trying to tackle the Devil's Garden/Primitive Trail Loop, so you'll be treated to much smaller crowds (there was no one there when I visited) and a low likelihood of selfie sticks and people taking hundreds of pictures of themselves standing inside the arch. Worth a quick stop if you're trying to tackle the loop
Gunnar C — Google review
I believe this was definitely worth the hike on the primitive trail. Also if you go up the dome to the right you get an incredible view of the canyon. Did you know a Butte is taller than it is wide. Lots of them on the primitive trail.
Jerry O — Google review
This arch is tucked away in Devils Garden. You must take the primitive trail to get to it. While the arch itself isn’t as breath taking as some of the others, the journey out to is was our favorite! Lots of climbing and rock scrambling. It was a blast!
Katie J — Google review
Nice arch, however, not as spectacular as other arches in the park but a great spot to enjoy and explore.
Walter R — Google review
You’ve come this far so drop by and take a picture. Once you get here you might be all arched out!
Spencer Q — Google review
Great place to go with the family to watch stars late at night, if your going to hike the park get there early in the morning, parking is a lost cause after 9:00am. Wear good shoes or hiker style boots/shoes, not recommended for children under 12, bring lots of water. -review written during August-
Ryan C — Google review
Though there are signs, this was a well hidden Arch. And yes this Arch is Private. The trail heads a bit of a way down some fins and end abruptly. Turn to your left and there it is. Low enough to walk through to the other side and enjoy an additional view.
