Park
Located on the outskirts of Bath, England, Prior Park Landscape Garden is a picturesque National Trust site created in the 18th century by Ralph Allen. The garden offers stunning views of the city and features a Palladian bridge, three large lakes, and diverse plant specimens. It's a popular spot for romantic outings and even weddings. Accessible via the city's bus network or through the Skyline route, it's an ideal destination to explore while visiting Bath.
Loved this place. Another rational trust site so annual membership recommended. Dogs welcome. The views over Bath are spectacular at the high points. It can be quite steep going and the high view points need good footwear as terrain is uneven. If you have walking difficulties, a wheelchair etc you may find this difficult. Having said that, there are some reasonable paths but you will miss out on some of the high points. Parking is non existent so you need to either find a side street (not easy), catch a bus or walk there. Cafe wasn't open when we went but there is a really nice garden centre just down the main road. Palladium in the lake is fantastic and worth walking down to. Expect to spend at least 1 to 1.5 hours strolling around.
Nick K — Google review
More of a scenic walk than anything. No parking on site or anything very close so bear that in mind. It’s a walk down a hill then up the other side at a gradient of 25% so wear something sensible. Nice little cafe hut at the bottom serving tea/coffee/drinks/cakes with a few tables. Good way to work out taking in the views of Bath.
Donnismonk — Google review
A beautiful spot to tour and relax in Bath. The entrance is an easy bus ride or an uphill walk. Staff and volunteers are friendly and informative. I went at opening time and had the place mostly to myself for a bit and it never became crowded. The walk around the park is nice and worth doing, but not a must-do. My favorite part was sitting in on the reclining chairs reading and enjoying the view and the birds.
Scott — Google review
We walked up the hill to get to the entrance, and it is quite a slog to get up there. However, you can also catch a bus that drops you by the entrance. Staff were friendly and it was quick to buy tickets which were £11 a person. It is a fantastic landscaped garden with stunning views down to the Palladium Bridge and Bath. Well maintained paths and gardens. The paths can be steep in places 25% incline and also a little rough under foot in places. Easy to navigate around, and although there were a few people around, it was calm and relaxed and had a lovely, peaceful atmosphere. Fortunately, having entered at the top of the hill, you come out at the bottom, which was nice. The only disappointment was that by the time we got to the exit, the cafe was closed, so get to the end before 4 pm if you want the cafe 😉 There are clean toilets available at the entrance and exit of the Park
Stuart J — Google review
A must visit for those with a passion for scenic landscapes, steep breathtaking walks and rich historical sites. I enjoyed every second whilst spending the afternoon at Prior Park. The site was well restored a couple of decades ago and has been incredibly well maintained ever since. Palladian Bridge is like something out of an old time movie and makes for an incredible photo opportunity. There is a nice cafe at the end of the park which is well stocked and has outdoor seating to enjoy a little treat after your walks.
Grant S — Google review
Beautiful place went to see the caves, you have to go off track to get to them. And climb up rocks but it was worth it. Toilets in the car park 20p to use them A coffee van for hot and cold drinks Some of it is pushchair friendly depending on how far you want to walk. Apart from if you go off track,( to the caves, turn left after the stepping stones and walk along the river) there is some hills and steps
Carly H — Google review
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Stunning Views and Timeless Beauty. We absolutely loved our visit to Prior Park Landscape Garden! The entrance fee (£12.90) was well worth it for the incredible views, peaceful atmosphere, and beautifully preserved history. The highlight was definitely the Palladian Bridge — picture-perfect from every angle and one of only a few like it in the world. It felt like walking through a period film set, and we can see why it’s a favourite location for photo shoots and filming. The entire garden is a blend of romantic landscapes, gentle walking paths, and sweeping vistas over Bath.
Abdul K — Google review
This park was like stepping into a period film. If you’re arriving by bus make sure to get off at the station right by the entrance at the top of the hill, otherwise it’s a steep walk up. Palladian bridge was just as picturesque as you’d think. We were a bit surprised by the 11 pound price tag for a park but do think it was worth it.

Royal Victoria Park Bath is a vast 57-acre Victorian park located just a short walk from the city center. It offers various attractions such as a duck pond, bandstand, cafes, and refreshment kiosks. The park also features amenities like crazy golf, tennis courts, and an extensive adventure playground with a skatepark. Visitors can enjoy hot air balloon tours from the meadows to the north of the park and participate in annual events like Bath on the Beach and Bath on Ice.
These gardens are beautiful! Flower and plant lovers and everyone else will love walking through the beautiful gardens. Grab some food and have a picnic. It is not overly crowded.
Rachael M — Google review
Big wide open green space good for picnics, sunbathing etc. Great views of the Royal Cresent, but the best and most beautiful part of this park is the separate botanical gardens which are well manicured and full of trees, shrubs and plants.
Miles M — Google review
Superb park with plenty of open green space, views of the famous Royal Crescent, and the beautiful Botanical Garden. A lovely place for a walk, not far from the city centre. Plenty of benches to sit and enjoy the calming influence of nature. The Botanical Gardens boast an impressive collection of trees, with wonderful colours in October. Facilities include a café, play area and plenty of paid parking. There's also a distinctive historic bandstand. One criticism - toilet facilities were poor when I visited, with several cubicles out of use due to damage, despite a 20p charge.

Its beautiful. kid friendly and a good spot for picnic! Also close to pulteney bridge. Lots of Cafes and shops around.

Lovely place to visit, a lot going on, we visited a pace called Bath on the Beach which was great, it's only there a couple more months and set in the grounds of the tennis courts.

Bath City Parade Gardens is a picturesque park featuring lush lawns, vibrant flower beds, and a charming cafe. The gardens also boast a bandstand that hosts summer concerts from April to September. Designed by the renowned Georgian architect John Wood the Elder, this scenic spot offers visitors the perfect setting for picnics or leisurely breaks.
I had an amazing time at Parade Gardens in Bath! The entry was completely free, and the views were absolutely stunning. The park is filled with an array of cool sculptures and statues that make the whole place even more interesting. The scenery around the gardens, coupled with the beautiful architecture of Bath, really takes your breath away. Plus, it’s incredibly clean with no litter in sight – perfect for a peaceful and relaxing visit. Highly recommend checking it out if you’re in the area!
Ayyub C — Google review
Free entry, set down away from the traffic, and carefully maintained, it’s a hot-spot in the summer heat, but otherwise a delight to spend a little time walking around. The river nearby adds a Danubian quality. There were horse and cart rides nearby, near the Abbey, if you want to get moving without moving.
Gordon D — Google review
A small but incredibly cosy garden that exudes warmth and tranquillity. Despite its compact size, it is well thought out and beautifully maintained. Colourful flowers bloom in neat, bright bunches, filling the air with subtle, pleasant scents. There are various unique sculptures scattered throughout the garden, each adding its own charm and artistic touch to the space. It is the perfect place to relax, unwind and enjoy a moment of peace away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. It is obvious that a lot of effort and love has been put into creating this serene, inviting corner of nature - a true hidden gem for those who appreciate beauty and tranquility.

Parade Gardens is a lovely green space right in the heart of Bath, perfect for relaxing on a sunny day. It’s a great spot to have a little picnic or just grab a drink and chill on the grass. Located near the river, the views are beautiful, and the atmosphere is peaceful. If the weather’s good, it’s one of the best places in the city to unwind and enjoy the outdoors.

Sydney Gardens, a 12-acre park established in 1795, offers picturesque landscapes and recreational opportunities. The area is adorned with over 140 historic terraces and buildings, including notable structures like Queen Square, the Circus, the Royal Crescent, and Lansdown Crescent. Additionally, visitors can explore the pavilion housing the art collection of the Holburne Museum.
Located behind the holburne museum, the garden has SWATHS of green and trees and gorgeous canals populated by ducks and swans. There are also a million dandelions scattered everywhere and a certain Jane Austen-esque vibe to the whole place.
Ariel J — Google review
Beautiful gardens in Bath. With the Holborn museum at one end, and the Avon canal at the other. There are some interesting art sculptures and buildings. Although not huge, still a nice place to walk round or sit and enjoy the quiet.. There is a toilet block and kids play area at one side too.
B M — Google review
Went for a winter walk here with the family. Even in January, the flower beds were well cared for, with plenty of clumps of snowdrops and hellebores. Some flowering shrubs, too. We played table tennis. Then we walked alongside the canal which runs alongside the park.
Diana S — Google review
Lovely gardens behind the Holbourne museum. A play area for children and walks along with benches for you to sit and read or relax and pass the time on a sunny afternoon. Gardens are well maintained and beautifully presented.
Andrew D — Google review
Lovely little place, out of the main hustle and bustle but still close to bus and train stations. Quite loud with trucks and people playing music, but otherwise a pleasant place to sit for a while with playground for kids
Emerald L — Google review
Lovely quiet space practically in the middle of Bath. Importantly "The Holburne" is contained within the park. It's a great museum and Arts space with a super cafe attached.
Andrew P — Google review
This is a beautiful garden with many different historical pieces. I highly recommend you take advantage of the Mayor's corps of honorary guides to take a free tour through this garden. This garden was originally built in 1970 something and were funded by the public through a shares program. If you are not interested n the history, just take a nice walk. These are pleasure gardens after all.

Jane austen loved to wander through thse gardens. How romantic. I had to go there to see if I could feel what she felt or if any inspiration came to me. It was a lovely garden to while away some time. Wish I had longer to spend there but I discovered it at end of my day. Will def go back.

Alexandra Park, located in Bath, North-East Somerset, England, is a picturesque green space offering stunning panoramic views of the city and surrounding countryside. Situated at the top of Beechen Cliff, this elevated parkland features mature trees, pathways, seating areas, and a playground for children. Accessible by climbing a number of steps or via Holloway and Shakespeare Avenue, it's popular for picnics and leisurely strolls.
Great park to visit there is a view point which gives you a great view of Bath there is parking if you want to drive there. We walked from Bath taking a rather long set of steps not far behind the railway station quite a climb but well worth it for the view.
Adrian D — Google review
After visiting the important historical places in Bath, we went up the Alexendra Park, atop a hillock overlooking the city of Bath. It offered stunningly beautiful views of the city, with identifiable landmarks. Spending some time in this lovely park with plenty of green space, was really relaxing. One can either take cab, or, if you have time and energy, one can walk up and down from the city.
Arun G — Google review
If I were to recommend a park to visit in Bath, Alexandra Park would be at the top of my list. Not only is it in a fantastic location with plenty of scenic walking trails leading to interesting spots, but it also boasts arguably the most stunning panoramic view of the city. On top of that, you can enjoy delicious coffee and pastries from Choux Box, and there’s plenty of space for dogs to run around. A must-visit!
Kasia — Google review
This park is quiet, green, and offers a nice view over Bath. The climb up is steep, but the reward is worth it.
Anuj N — Google review
It is one of the greatest attractions in the bath. It's on top of a mountain and it gives a 180° view of the Roman bath which is a goosebumps moment. People who visit Roman Bath in their own car/hired can easily reach the view point with in the car. And the people who use public transport, they can get the bus from the bus stand and there after 9 min walk is required to reach the destination. This will help to reduce steep hills. If you love to hike then can use the stairs to reach the destination. While coming back to town using the stairs are the easiest method🤪

Beautiful view of the city of Bath, lovely area for a picnic or to play games in the sun

This is probably one of the best and most calming places you can see and feel in Somerset. Aesthetically pleasing and keeps your heart pumping while walking uphill. It’s worth the tough walk. Incredible.

Alexandra Park in Bath is a truly enchanting spot, where you find yourself surrounded by the warm colours of autumn, beautifully blending with the view over the town centre and the impressive architecture of medieval Romanesque walls. It’s the only place where you can enjoy a panoramic vista of Bath and its surroundings – a little slice of heaven perched above the town, perfect for moments of peace and admiration.

Bath Skyline offers stunning hilltop views of the city rooftops and is a World Heritage site that can be accessed via a 6-mile trail through meadows and woodlands. The route takes you through various landscapes, including meadows, woodlands, 18th-century follies, secluded valleys, ancient Roman settlements, and an Iron Age fort. Starting from Bathwick Hill, the 6-mile circular trail provides breathtaking views over Bath with various viewpoints along the way.
Gorgeous views. This is not to be missed. Our favorite part of the walk was stumbling upon the gorgeous canal with the locks on the way up. This walk was most definitely our favorite part of the day. We went in the evening after all of the crowds had left for the day and it was lovely and not crowded in the least. Views for days.
Megan M — Google review
The Bath skyline walk is fantastic 👌 It not only takes you out into Beautiful countryside but also gives you fantastic views over the city of Bath. The route is about 6 miles and took us about 3 5 hours although we weren't speedy. Keep an eye out for the yellow direction arrows and you will be fine, although there are a couple of areas where there are no markers for a bit. Spectacular views and we kind of wished we had taken a picnic but sadly we didn't. The route can be steep up and down hill in places and there are a few sets of steps. Also the path especially through wooded areas can be uneven and rough under foot and there are a couple of obstacles to navigate, but then this is a country walk. The paths around Claverton down are very flat and easy under foot. Was nice seeing they were restoring dry stone walls. Definitely wear sensible shoes and take water 👌It's a good route and has stunning views, if you take small children expect to end up carrying them. Probably not suitable for people unsteady on their feet. Definitely worth the experience and we walked back to the city centre along the canal.
Stuart J — Google review
Great free experience. Walkable just bring sneakers. Slightly uphill. Park on side of the street if you one by car. Very peaceful and you get a vast grassy expanse view with the city skyline to the far distance.
PHOEBE C — Google review
The Bath Skyline walk offers absolutely stunning views of the city. You can see the entire skyline of Bath, and it’s truly beautiful. The walk is peaceful and offers a lovely escape into nature. Definitely worth the visit!
Priyantha L — Google review
Great viewpoint overlooking the elegant city of Bath, forming part of a 6 mile walking trail taking in city streets and rural surroundings. The full walk takes over 3 hours to complete, and is rewarded with great aerial views of the city's most recognisable landmarks. For a shorter walk, one of the best viewpoints can be accessed from the gate to the east of Prior Park Landscape Garden. This spot, on a steep hillside in an area of limestone grassland, offers one of the finest views of the Bath skyline and surrounding wooded hills. It's also a good place to see wildflowers in spring. There's no official parking for the Bath Skyline walk, but it can be accessed on foot from Bath Spa railway station in around 25 minutes.
Andrew T — Google review
I've been visiting bath skyline walk day for some years and still not managed to do all of it (a combination of old legs and British weather may be involved). This is a stunning place to visit and it's free to participate. There's extras which are payable should be curious.
Paul — Google review
Great activity for the day. A bit of a climb , stairs, road or hills depends on the route you take. On the way you will most likely pass by the canal system, worth a look. The canal has its own walk as well, which I found even more scenic.
Doug B — Google review
We did a 13km bath skyline hike loop from Town. It’s a lovely varied hike of 310m elevation gain that you can find on Komoot. Shade and sun with great views! Hiking early July on a weekday was lovely and quiet. Lots of wildlife - a muntjac deer, swallows and butterflies.

Lovely Park, pretty and well maintained with a lot of seating and plenty of shady areas on a sunny day. Beautiful Remembrance Garden with a small pond and seating. The park is in a slightly secluded area so does not get as busy as some other parks which can he nice. Is lovely to have a little rest on a summers day. If you are visiting the Holborn Museum, this park is close, so it's worth a visit 😊

One of my favourite places in Bath, especially when the weather is good. The park is wonderful, spacious and a perfect place for a picnic. There is also the remembrance garden within the park which is just stunning in the spring and summer, with beautiful flowers and benches around a pond.

This is a glorious, compact park full of mature trees that is maintained with the help of a band of dedicated volunteers. Perfect for anyone seeking to be inspired and consoled by nature. In the autumn, walk along the path beneath the canopy of century old horse chestnut trees. In the winter, enjoy the light filtering through the trees. In the spring, admire the beauty of the many cherry blossom trees. In the summer, sit in the cool shade of the rose covered arbor. Every season gives its own joy.

There is also public toilets (20p) the park is step free and easily accessible. The downside is I would liked to have had a look around the garden area with the pond but there was a group of kids hanging about in there messing about wich put me off as I wouldn't have been comfortable going in with all them about so will try again another time and get to enjoy it fully.

Alice Park is an 8-acre memorial park located in Bath, North-East Somerset, England. It features expansive lawns, a children's playground with a large sandpit, swings, climbing frame and spiral slide. The park also offers six tennis courts and a summer cafe open on weekends during the summer months. Visitors can enjoy picnic tables, a wildlife pond and many large trees for shade on sunny days.
Lovely car show was on when i went. A great surprise and a lovely community event.
Chester P — Google review
Nice little spot here. The play area is a bit basic but the kids had fun regardless, especially in the big sandpit surrounding the climbing frame for toddlers. The cafe was reasonably priced and we loved sitting in the covered outside area. I think it's great how the park caters for different hobbies with the skatepark, tennis courts and community garden. The highlight for us though, is the wildlife ponds that were absolutely swarming with toads and fish. The car park as stated is small, I was expecting to have trouble parking, but managed to park on the street like other cars with no problems. The only downside about the park is the location and the background noise from the main road, apart from that, we spent an enjoyable few hours here and would visit again!
Crispy — Google review
Would have decent facilities but sadly a lot of litter and a few things in the play area rather worse for wear (the wooden play area rotting, paint chipped everywhere, swings missing). Lots of trip hazards in surfacing!! Bins full... Does have toilets (20p), car parking, picnic spaces and benches, amenity grass, and the cafe. Trees are lovely in spring. But it's all in need of substantial investment!
Cate H — Google review
Pleasant green space. Plenty of benches and a cafe with take out. Toilets charge 20p per usage but take contactless payment. Space for 10 to 15 cars inc 2 disabled spaces. Free to park.
Mike G — Google review
Shame to see what has happened to the playground equipment. They must have spent a fortune but have created some really hazardous play features which is really disappointing as the old equipment was tired but safe for toddlers to learn to climb and slide. They must have current equivalent is very dangerous for toddlers as they can easily climb and find themselves stuck with no safe way of getting to the slide

Fabulous park, a real community feel, especially great for children. Cafe, toilets, some parking, and in street too. Can get very busy though.

Park
The Botanical Gardens in Bath, established in 1887, are a picturesque green space spanning 9 acres. Located in Victoria Park north of the River Avon, this free-entry park is an ideal spot for families to enjoy a sunny day. Visitors can explore a diverse collection of plants and towering trees within the enchanting gardens. The site features a scented walkway, Roman temple, stream, pond, and unique sculptures.
What a beautiful place to come and relax on a sunny day. The gardens occupy a discreet fenced area of the larger park with nice little winding paths and plenty of shaded benches where you can sit and listen to the birds singing. The gardens are well manicured with a nice variety of trees, shrubs and flowers. Free to visit and around 25 min walk from the town centre.
Miles M — Google review
Such a peaceful and beautiful area to walk around and enjoy the scenery. Got lots of nice pictures here of the wildlife and flowers.
Cameron — Google review
Beautiful Victorian gardens with magnificent trees, water features and ornamental bridges; an oasis of calm not far from the city centre. The gardens are very well kept, with good paths and benches to sit and enjoy the surroundings. Wonderful on my first visit in October when the autumn colours were at their finest, and just as lovely in May with plenty of spring flowers and roses blooming. The Great Dell, a repurposed former quarry with a wooded trail, is worth a quick look while visiting. A café and toilet facilities are located outside the gardens in Royal Victoria Park.
Andrew T — Google review
Definitely worth a visit. Beautiful walkways with unusual exotic plants. Free to enter but donations by contactless card machine.

I visited Bath for the day and didn't really feel at ease until I stepped into the garden. Quiet, peaceful, and only steps away from the city.

Victoria park is huge and free, a great place to walk away from the busy city. Beautiful trees. There is a tea hut with seats . Toilets are in the lower section by a huge children's playground. Walk there beside the river from Green park station.
Carol C — Google review
Lovely calm and relaxing space, which is well maintained and looked after. It is lovely to wander around, and there are plenty of shady spots even on a sunny day. The Gardens have plenty of benches, and there is a small kiosk with a seating area selling refreshments, which was nice.

Gastropub

Family restaurant
The Marlborough Tavern in Bath is a gastropub that prides itself on using seasonal local produce and offering a cozy atmosphere with reclaimed furniture, leather sofas, and an open fire. It strikes the perfect balance between a traditional pub and an upscale modern bistro, appealing to both regulars and newcomers. The private walled garden provides an indoor/outdoor experience throughout the year, making it a popular choice for locals and visitors alike.
Very friendly and efficient service followed by very well priced wine, which quenched our thirst! We shared a starter, which had us ravenous for our main course as it was so scrumptious! The mains were generous portions of hearty food, which had us fulfilled on a cold winter day. Our only regret is not coming here sooner!
Janine N — Google review
The charcuterie starter was tasty. The Sunday Roast was decent, potatoes were less exceptional, but the Yorkshire pudding was really good. Sticky toffee pudding was delicious. Service was outstanding.
Ryan S — Google review
Had the Sunday beef roast here and really enjoyed it. The atmosphere was excellent—cozy, quiet, and surprisingly spacious. Everything felt clean and well looked after, which made for a really comfortable dining experience. A great spot if you're looking for a relaxed place to enjoy a traditional roast without the usual crowd or noise.
Evgeny N — Google review
Tap beers and a couple of real ales available. Nicely decorated place with nice seating and wooden floors throughout. Food served here that looked very nice. Clean and tidy. Staff were friendly and polite. Beer was good. Enjoyed my visit.
Paul P — Google review
Went for Sunday Roast (beef). I requested more rare beef, but the first roast I received was more medium to well. When they came to check on me, I was honest that it was I overcooked for me. They did reach it with perfect medium rare slices, as initially requested. I commend them for the corrected.
DisneyGirlTinkerbell — Google review
Heard great things but on arrival realised it was another St Austell pub. Food is SO disappointing, awful really if you compare to a real gastro pub, (go to Grittleton) Service and staff (although no check back) are great, pub is lovely, but the food, is it from Aldi? Or is that a slur on Aldi. Forgot to take pics, bar pudding.
Nici S — Google review
I’ve always enjoyed visiting this the Marlborough Tavern and have never had a bad meal here, so it’s disappointing to say that today’s experience didn’t quite meet expectations. The staff were, as always, friendly and welcoming, and the service was excellent. I ordered the hanger steak with pepper sauce, which sounded delicious. Having previously worked as a butcher many years ago, I was curious about how this particular cut would be prepared. Unfortunately, the steak was rather tough — even difficult to cut, despite the serrated knife. I understand hanger steak can be a tricky cut, but I had hoped for something a little more tender. That said, the atmosphere and the staff remain a real credit to the restaurant, and I’ll certainly be back to try something different next time.
Robert H — Google review
We visited The Marlborough Tavern on a busy Thursday evening for dinner with friends. The pub was very busy, recommend booking a table, and had a great atmosphere. The service from all the staff on duty was first class. Both of the ladies choose the sole and the men the burgers. All four plates of food looked and smelt delicious. All the ingredients were perfectly cooked and tasted great. The French fries that came with my burger were exceptional. I would highly recommend this venue in Bath.

The Georgian Garden is a small, meticulously designed garden located in the heart of Bath, England. It features a geometric layout typical of the late 1700s, complete with box hedges and topiaries. The garden successfully recreates an authentic 18th-century back garden and is filled with traditional plants and flowers. Visitors can enjoy a leisurely stroll through this formal garden, taking in its simple yet elegant design.
Nice Garden free to visit, just off the Gravel walk. It is a calm, quiet space. Only a short walk from The Royal Crescent and Victoria Park
Stuart J — Google review
Free to enter not very big but pleasant enough
Rory W — Google review
An unexpected treat. firstly this is free which is excellent. Secondly this is a chance to see into the Circus properties and this helps really understand what is going on in this development. You get to see the rear of the Circus properties up close which is fascinating because of the way they are constructed which means only the fronts are uniform, the back of the structure varies wildly. And you get to see a contemporary garden, as in the garden that existed when the property was initially built. It is rather fascinating to see the variety of plants, design and forms of maintenance used. It is also interesting to see how the original garden plan was uncovered. really an excellent insight in Georgian Bath that I don't think you can see in many places. Well worth a visit when it is open.
Rik — Google review
It’s a nice little garden in the city. Don’t expect a very big area. But it is well kept and the plants there are named. They have some history written on a couple of panels too. Wouldn’t hurt to just visit it on your way!
Milan S — Google review
It's a garden. Free and quick. No reason not to walk in the door.
Mike W — Google review
Nice little find whilst walking around Bath. Free to enter and worth a quick visit if near the Royal Crescent. We went end of Feb so not much in bloom, but we could see that a lot of care and attention had been put in to recreating this Georgian Garden. I bet it looks and smells wonderful when in full bloom!
Charlotte W — Google review
Somewhat underwhelming, but it’s probably better when the weather isn’t so dry as it has been. They made an effort to reproduce the type of garden that would’ve been here in the Georgian era, and that’s interesting to read about.

Located near the iconic Pulteney Bridge in Bath, the Beazer Garden Maze offers a peaceful and enjoyable experience for visitors of all ages. Designed by Randoll Coate in 1984, this labyrinth draws inspiration from various historical eras that have influenced the city's heritage. While some may find it underwhelming compared to their expectations, others appreciate its unique design and historical influences.

It is simple but fun for children to run around. A maze beside a lovely flowing river and ancient bridge. It's time out for parents. A good distraction from the Bath buzz.
Robert B — Google review
Maze is mid. There's no actual dead ends so you can easily low diff it if you're just quicker than the other people you're racing. Of course you could just be built different like your boy and solve it while being quicker.

Nice little Maze to amuse within sight of the river and Pultney Bridge. A great way to amuse the kids in the sunshine if you need a break from the busy streets
Stuart J — Google review
We did the maze, completed in longer than I thought at the start. It was an interesting activity to do with the kids

A small but nice maze. The maze is not walled, and has a nice mosaic in the middle, which is a replica of one they found in the Roman town.

Bar
Tucked away in a small passageway off North Parade, The Hideout exudes an upscale and secretive vibe with its stone-walled nook and quirky decor. This walk-in-only bar offers over 200 types of whiskey from around the world, as well as themed cocktail menus that have previously been inspired by 90s hip hop albums and currently draw from old-time gangsters and criminals.
What a memorable experience! Jake was extremely welcoming and a great first impression. Dan is hands down the most talented bartender I have ever had the fortune of meeting. Not only were his cocktails well balanced and delicious, but he was also extremely knowledgeable about whiskey and gin, and took the time to educate myself and my partner on interesting spirits we would not have tried otherwise. A truly memorable evening, and I shall treasure the hideout glasses I bought! Cheers again gents.

Absolutely loved this cosy little bar. Perfect for a romantic evening. Music was great, the selection was unique and the cocktails were absolutely delicious. We only intended to pop in, but stayed until closing. Staff were super friendly, attentive and knowledgeable too. Will definitely be returning next time I’m in Bath.

A lovely little, quirky bar. The staff were super friendly and knowledgeable about the drinks they were serving. You cannot book but we got to the bar around 5.30 on a Sunday and were seated straight away. It is small and I would guess it gets quite busy on drier nights, and especially Friday/Saturday nights. We will be back again at some point in the future to keep trying out the menu!

Couldn’t have loved this place more, and it’s no wonder why they’ve won some pretty impressive awards. The guys on duty went above and beyond to make us feel welcome, in a genuine and friendly way. The perfect place to stop off for a very, very good marg. 10/10.

Really glad we did a bit of googling to see the good spots to visit. This did not disappoint. The set up is relaxed with a fun twist, an excellent spot for couples, first dates or with one of the lads. Cocktails cost a lot, but they’re strong, really tasty and it’s right in the heart of town in a great setting. Id give the old fashioned a go, even if you’re not a whiskey drinker. Would definitely visit here again.

Next is a well-known department store with a good-sized location in Bath, featuring three floors of clothing and household items. The store has friendly and helpful staff, offering a peaceful shopping experience even when busy. Customers appreciate the lovely interior design and the availability of larger sizes. The customer service is described as speedy and charming, with employees who are praised for their kindness and helpfulness. Despite some occasional issues with online orders, the overall experience at Next seems to be positive for many shoppers.
Excellent service from a wonderful gentleman upstairs in the baby section today, he helped me order the baby sleep suit I wanted to my local store in Bristol. He was so polite and kind and honestly made my day. Service with a smile is rare these days and credit where it’s due, you smashed it! Thank you so much!

Good sized Next store over 3 floors, even if the place was busy downstairs there was peace to be had in the top floor home section. There is a large lift so no claustrophobia, and friendly staff in the store too.

My Partner ordered a pair of gloves online to be delivered to the Southgate Shop for collection. We live in Northants. The next afternoon after arriving in Bath we called into the shop to enquire about the gloves. Several assistants checked for us but could not locate the item and called for Jess. Jess took our details and said that she had two more Bags to sort to finish checking the deliveries but she hadn't seen our order. Jess went to finish checking the last two bags and as fortune would have found our order and promptly gave us our order. Was very impressed by Jess, her demeanour and attitude in getting our order efficiently and quickly. Impressed by Jess and her manner in getting customer satisfaction without fuss or drama. The other members of staff were pleasant and helpful too. A very Satisfied Customer.

Lovely, friendly, helpful staff. The shop is a great example of 19th interior commercial design. I would recommend this department store for all types of clothes & household items.
Hayley W — Google review
Doesn't seem to sell children's clothes any more - used to sell a good range but now just seems to do baby and toddler. The home section is so small it's not worth bothering with. ... And I'm not saying the sale is a con.. But it seems like they suddenly have a lot of low quality menswear items on display that they don't normally sell - especially to flog during Christmas/New Year week. But 3 stars because generally they offer good quality men's clothing and the staff are normally helpful. This seems a small sized store for a city the size of Bath though

While some visitors found the signage confusing and were disappointed by the presence of a golf course impacting nature and economics, others appreciated the beauty of the forested areas. However, there were mixed reviews about expectations versus reality. Some found it difficult to locate the starting point while others simply enjoyed this beautiful place.
