Tohono Chul is a compact desert habitat featuring various cacti, a demonstration garden, and art displays. It offers engaging walks and activities for school trips, family outings, or friend gatherings. Visitors can join one of four school tours focusing on ethnobotany, desert digs, clever plants, or diverse pollinators. Alternatively, they can explore the gardens through mobile scavenger hunts or interact with docents to learn about nature and culture connections.
My friend invited me to the Tohono Chul plant sale last weekend. We went on Sunday, so they were sold out of some of the most desired cactus and other plants. They still had a nice selection, and the volunteers were very friendly and knowledgeable. The prices were also reasonable. The whole experience was a day I won't forget anytime soon! Thank you, Tohono Chul and volunteers, for making me feel so welcome!

An amazing local park filled with desert flora, and occasional desert fauna as well!! From the towering saguaros to the tiny flowers, there is so much to see at Tohono Chul Park. The metal animal figures throughout the park are eye catching, the winding paths are intriguing and the atmosphere is welcoming. The staff is amazing as well! 10/10 recommend visiting this park if you are in the area.
Jonah Q — Google review
Chillin' at Chul was great! There was free admission, good food and drinks and live music. It was much cooler in the gardens than down in the city and we had a great time exploring and just chatting on the porch swings. Bring bug spray or wear long sleeves. The mosquitoes bit us a lot.
Lucy B — Google review
This is one of the first places I take someone who comes in from out of town to visit. “Chillin at Chul” is a beautiful way to spend a Friday or Saturday evening. The music, people, and environment are always great. Lots of little trails and a whole back garden for kids to explore and play around in. “Guitars Under the Stars” is another great event that’s held in the garden bistro and definitely worth checking out. Great food and service. Indoor and outdoor seating for big and small groups. We’ve also attended the seasonal movie showings that Tohono Chul hosts around the holidays. Very fun. Worth checking out, especially if you have children.
Danny T — Google review
Beautiful gardens with all sorts of tranquil and lovely nooks and places to sit. I visited in late October, and it is wonderful now, but I would love to come back in spring when the cacti are blooming- although I saw my first ever October-blooming cactus here, and there are quite a few other flowers blooming. There are some beautiful sculptures throughout the gardens, and wonderful artwork in the museum.
Gretchen M — Google review
Bistro: A visit to the Bistro, before or after the gardens is up to you but you don’t want to pass it up. A fine menu with a variety options, we tried the Vegan Blue Corn Tamales and Prickly Pear Chicken Salad Croissant; both were very fresh and tasty. Gardens: Well played out and accessible.
Douglas L — Google review
First time visiting & didn't get to explore the entirety of the property. Entrance grants access to the children's museum as well. Stroller friendly-ish... paths can get a little rough but are wide enough to navigate. Early morning or late afternoon/evening is highly recommended, unless you love the heat. Lots of wildlife: birds, bugs, lizards on the main paths. Plants for sale, art for sale, water & vending machines available as well as on site restaurant. Plenty of seating areas with pretty views and art exhibitions. We were gifted this entrance fee but need to go again and finish exploring everything we didnt get to see!
TIFFANY N — Google review
A beautiful spot for a walk or wedding! Amazing gardens with plenty to explore. I photographed a wedding here in 2025 and it was so nice to have a private area to have the ceremony, cake cutting, and dances.

Zoo
Zoos & Aquariums
Reid Park Zoo, located in Tucson, Arizona, was established in 1965 by Gene Reid. The zoo spans 24 acres and is home to over 30 different species of animals from South America, Asia, and Africa. It is a city-owned non-profit organization funded by state tax dollars and conservation societies. Visitors can see a wide variety of animals such as lemurs, flamingos, otters, bears, tortoises, and anteaters.
We went to the zoo for the first time yesterday, during the cooler 6-8 pm hours. I was very impressed with the habitats, they were spacious and provide lots of shade and places to get away from us when the animals wish to. Being from the East Coast originally we enjoyed seeing animals we had not seen in person at other zoos. The layout provided lots of walking space and provided a pleasant experience. There was lots for kids to do and a good musician performing. We will definitely be back to see the new Asian exhibit.
Jennifer H — Google review
This little zoo was big on heart! We loved how close you get to the animals and their beautiful enclosures. We are members of the Pheonix Zoo and got 50% off too. We spent a day here enjoying the place. Plus they have 6 elephants and an adorable baby!!
CKMixx21 K — Google review
Great park to enjoy a day with kids. Cost effective, walk friendly with shade. Well maintained Zoo with limited number of animals and feeding giraffes was one of the moments where kids enjoyed a lot. Birds camp is really special and indoor museum is good to enjoy with kids.
Madheswaran P — Google review
Reid Park Zoo is a wonderful gem of a zoo. The variety of animals, the layout of the park, and the staff all make this a wonderful place to visit. There are the staple animals like lions, zebras, and hippos, as well as capybaras, gibbons, and snakes. The giraffes get really close to visitors, which makes for a fun selfie opportunity. There are lots of shady areas and places to sit that help make your visit enjoyable and refreshing. The food stands are spread apart and offer a nice selection of goodies to keep your energy up. The gift shop is clean, organized, and the staff is pleasant. Reid Park Zoo makes for an excellent trip. There are so many amazing animals to watch, tons of learning opportunities, and a magnificent way to spend some family fun time.
Mappening R — Google review
We had an absolute blast at the Reid Park Zoo! Recently came here for the first time and was honestly blown away. The zoo is awesome, and we already can't wait to go back again! Once you're inside, there is so much to do and see. The zoo itself is a really great size. The walking paths give you great views of all the animals. The exhibits are really nice, well kept, and pretty spacious. We really enjoyed all the different animals that are here. Most of them were very active when we were there, which made the experience even better! There are multiple walk-in exhibits, a huge playground area for kids, zoo keeper interactive experiences, and more. Keep an eye out for a peacock, or a bunch, roaming around, too! There is a gift shop, restaurant, and plenty of snack stands throughout the zoo as well. The whole zoo is easily accessible and very clean as well. We can't wait to come back and spend another great day at Reid Park Zoo!
T S — Google review
this zoo was so amazing! very cleanly and the animals look so happy and at peace which you don’t always see at zoos in arizona. we loved the elephants, rhino, anteater, and giraffes especially. i will definitely be back the next time i'm in tucson!
Dani X — Google review
Coming on a weekday right around noon. When the kids were headed out was perfect timing. You were able to enjoy the exhibits, still see lots of animals, without crazy crowds. I was super impressed with the bird exhibits and being able to sit among the exotic birds. The well, habitats are well done and you really feel pretty darn close to the animals. We come from a big city with a much bigger zoo, but this zoo is pretty awesome. Will be back for the night time program!
Michelle M — Google review
I took my grandson a few weeks ago to see the baby zebra. Lovely habitat. Mommy zebra was very protective of her baby. Only one other female in her habitat. Also it was fun seeing the juvenile elephant siblings. They are such a sweet family. We also went to the bird sanctuary. My grandson loved taking photos from my phone. He caught a great pic of the male & female lions. ♥️

Mountain peak
Sentinel Peak, also known as "A" Mountain, is a picturesque spot in Tucson with a rich history and stunning views. The giant white "A" painted by University of Arizona students in 1915 is an iconic landmark visible from various points in the city. Visitors can drive or hike up the mountain to enjoy panoramic vistas of Tucson, making it a popular location for capturing stylish photos, especially during sunrise and sunset.
We were literally driving around Tucson like a bunch of tourists when we saw Sentinel Peak ahead of us. A quick look on the map showed a relatively short drive to reach the summit. Up we went! As the passenger, I was mesmerized by the ever-changing views offered by the circular road leading to the top. Seems like a place where you could spend a few minutes or a few hours.
Dianne M — Google review
Awesome, easy, and short little hike that leads to an amazing summit with 360 degree views of Tucson, Saguaro National Park, and the surrounding landscape. A killer spot to catch a sunset and/or sunrise.
Josiah R — Google review
I love coming up here to the top of A Mountain! It’s one of my favourite spots in Tucson. The views are great and I like having a coffee or breakfast burrito while sitting on the A and enjoying the city views. 👍😎
Yodaman S — Google review
Beautiful. Recommend going at sun set. ❤️
Mandy B — Google review
I like to hike up the hill on the side of the A Mountain, which has always had plenty of interesting graffiti artists decorating the lower and mid levels of the concrete walls. I love art, so that's good for me. Also, some saint hiked a whole metal bench to the very top of the small mountain I like to climb. It had to have been a feat of great strength; I see no vehicle access! The bench appears to have been carried up piecewise, then welded together at the tippy top! Thank you, kind stranger. I like the graffiti on the bench, too. Last Saturday, the Desert Museum had everything set up for people to help paint murals over the old graffiti, so I signed up, which was free! I went up to the summit of the hill, took some pictures, walked around a bit, stretched, finished my breakfast, and then hiked back to the lower level to help paint a person on the wall. It was fun! Lots of nice people and a few kids helping out with the paints. I did my part, like half a person that a kid would not have been able to reach, then said goodbyes, walked down, and hopped a bus back into town.
Mackenzie J — Google review
Awesome place of peace and quiet and views. We came up here after having a great breakfast nearby. The hike up and around was intermediate. Make sure you take water and pace yourself. We wanted to see the A but we got up there to not the best views but a great hike still. Weather was in the 70s with a great breeze so it was awesome. Even stopped at the lookout at the top.
Kawana W — Google review
Just one more reason I fell in love with this town and cant wait to move there. Its not a very high or steep mountain, but it sure is a nice view from the top. Very kid, biker and family friendly hike.
Bronson A — Google review
Always a nice place to visit for a birds-eye view of the City. But they posted "NO PARKING" signs at the very spot everyone used to park for photos and now expect people to hike up the mountainside where cars drive on a narrow one-way road. Kind of unsafe. And dumb. And when you do reach the peak (and best) observation lookout point of the City, people still park there anyways. So what's the point? Suggest to skip this tourist trap and drive through nearby and scenic Gates Pass instead. For a more majestic mountain view experience, spend half the day driving up Mount Lemmon. Sentinal Peak is a bust. With trashy, dilpidated roads, no parking authorized at the top, forced hiking approximately 1/2 mile up a one-way narrow road with cars deiving right passed you, I would not recommend anyone to waste their time traveling to "A" Mountain.

Very cool place to visit. A huge park with tons of hiking trails. The trails are mostly easy but you have to watch your step and avoid the cacti. Lots of loose gravel & rocks you have to watch out for. There are so many varieties of cacti. Be careful of the Jumping Cholla that are on the sides of the trails and on the trails, they can stick on your shoes or clothes.

Nature & Parks
Agua Caliente Regional Park, located in Tucson, is a 101-acre desert oasis featuring a natural hot spring and pond that provide a habitat for diverse wildlife and fish. The park offers paved and gravel trails with signs explaining its geology and history, making it perfect for nature walks. Visitors can also enjoy picnicking under the shade of palm and mesquite trees or explore the renovated 1870s Ranch House Visitor Center and Art Gallery.
A natural hot spring flows through faults beneath the park. There were originally two springs, a “Hot Spring” and a “Cold Spring”. The two springs once produced a water flow of more than 500 gallons per minute. Throughout the years, the area has had many different purposes, from fruit orchards to cattle ranching to a health spa. Today, it serves as a family park for large BBQ gatherings. Fantastic location for Birdwatching. There are plenty of picnic tables, shade, flora, and wildlife. Gigantic eucalyptus trees, palm trees, and big Mesquite trees, all offering large shaded areas. Bathrooms are available. No overnight camping, no fishing, no bicycling, and many other restrictions apply.
Kdub — Google review
There has been a lot work done on this park to recover from the fire and do other upgrades. Lovely place to visit, with shade and grass. Quiet. Good birding depending on the season. Nice trails. The water was green but that will eventually repair itself. The old ranch house is interesting and educational, and at the moment has the Philabaum art exhibit. Great volunteer staff!

Absolutely amazing! We went inthe middle of the week and there were maybe 5 or 6 other cars there. Picnic tables and grills are generously scattered throughout the park for picnics or cook outs, but make sure you bring plenty of water or sport drinks!

This park is an oasis in the desert. It's wild life, water attractions, and shade providing palm trees are a welcome sight to any visitor. The park is well maintained, and there are informational placards on the origin of the site and wild life that frequent the area. There are tables for a picnic, benches to sit and take in the varying views, and an asphalt loop that encompasses the parks features. The nature and bird walk allows an adventurous stroll through cacti and local flora.

Lookouts
Gates Pass is a 3,172-ft. mountain pass in Tucson, offering a popular scenic drive with overlooks for stunning vistas and sunset-watching. It's a perfect spot for couples seeking to capture the beauty of the desert at dusk, as the sun sets behind the Tucson Mountains, painting the sky in warm tones. The area is adorned with saguaro cacti, adding an authentic Arizona charm to any photographs taken there.
Amazing views. Give yourself time to find parking, and walk up the side of the mountain to watch the sun set. The views are beautiful even after the sun has set.
Amy C — Google review
Gates Pass in Tucson is one of the most stunning spots to watch the sunset in the area. The views over the desert and mountains are absolutely breathtaking, especially as the sun dips below the horizon and bathes the landscape in golden and pink hues. It’s a popular place for a reason—expect to see plenty of other people, including several doing photo shoots or setting up tripods to capture the moment. That said, parking can be a challenge, particularly around sunset. The small lot fills up quickly, so arriving early is key if you want a good spot without stress. Bathrooms are available, but honestly, they’re pretty gross—bring hand sanitizer or plan to avoid them if you can. Despite the crowds and the lackluster facilities, Gates Pass is still an incredible place to watch the sunset, take in the desert scenery, and even enjoy a simple picnic. Just come prepared and patient—it’s worth it for the view.
Melanie J — Google review
Beautiful little mountain pass with a nice parking lot to get out and enjoy the view. There's also a hiking trail that starts here.

Stop here. Get out. Look around. There's a washroom nearby, which is helpful for this drive. We stopped here on our way to the Desert Museum and were so happy we did; the views here are incredible! If you're coming into Arizona to enjoy the landscape and saguaro scenery, it's here that you want to stop. Just look at the pictures! It's a beautiful place to stop, just be sure the timing of the sun is on your side.

The Garden of Gethsemane is a serene public sculpture garden located near the Santa Cruz River in Tucson. It showcases the religious sculptures of artist Felix Lucero, who made a commitment to create religious works after surviving World War I. The garden features statues depicting various biblical scenes, including the last supper, birth of Christ, and crucifixion. One notable feature is the largest eucalyptus tree in Tucson.
Though it’s unavoidable and normal with spots like this you run into homeless people setting up shop. Otherwise this is a nice peaceful serene place to come and reflect and gather your thoughts and look at the very cool sculptures as well. 👍☺️
Yodaman S — Google review
This place has been here for a while. Nice sculptures, but through the years, they have been vandalized. Fingers and feet are missing from the Apostles and Baby Jesus. Probably taken for keepsakes. The Hawks that are nesting at the entrance are also pretty cool.

Very peaceful and serene! Amazing sculptures. Quite a few homeless people in this area though which is unfortunate. Not somewhere i would go alone at night time haha. But in the day time? Yes! Definitely check it out very beautiful 👍
Derek S — Google review
This delightful little sculpture garden is situated in a fairly peaceful section of the riverbank. With well maintained paths and a wheelchair accessible entrance and ramps. The information sign about the sculptor is very informative and altogether the garden has a wonderful atmosphere. Parking is good and plentiful and the sculptures themselves are beautiful and have a great history. They are more than worth seeing. Expect to spend about 10-15 minutes here on average.

I suggest you stop by if you're ever in Tucson. It's a small art exhibit that's free to the public and has a back story. It was very beautiful and once I read the back story I loved it even more.

Beautiful!!! I love the meaning. We have to be careful we dont worship statues but the One True Living God of the Bible only. Jesus taught us how to pray like this "OUR FATHER" We have to make sure we're praying to God the Father ONLY. Salvation is no joke. Its a serious matter. The most important decision you'll ever make in your life is where your soul will go for eturnity. Read and study and do what the bible says for yourself. We are to work out our own salvation with fear and trembeling. Philipians 2:12. God bless you. Jesus is the ONLY way to Heaven. There's no other way.

Felix Lucero - 1895 - 1951 The artist sculptor was born in Trinidad, Colorado in world war. In World War 1 he like critically injured on a forgotten battlefield he vowed to God and to himself that if he survived, he would dedicate the remainder of his life to the sculpting of religious statues for which he had natural talent. After 20 years of this pious work in various parts of the country, he arrived in Tucson in 1938 heartbreak and pain walked with the artist during his sacred efforts.

This garden has a beautiful story. The sculptor was badly wounded in World War I and promised God that if he survived, he would devote the rest of his life to creating religious statues. He made such statues in many cities. The Garden of Gethsemane in Tucson is a small, pretty park, and the statues are lovely. There is a children's playground next to it.

Nestled in the charming St. Philip's Plaza, Ren Coffeehouse stands out as a delightful gem in Tucson, Arizona. This modern coffee shop features both an inviting bakery and a dedicated espresso bar, catering to all your caffeine cravings. With its picturesque indoor and outdoor seating options, it’s perfect for couples seeking a romantic atmosphere or anyone looking to enjoy their drink amidst beautiful surroundings. Ren Coffeehouse prides itself on offering clean and healthy menu choices made from organic ingredients.
Charming coffeehouse, small with limited seating inside but a huge shared exterior patio. The pastries all look so yummy! We ordered an iced mocha and a hot chai tea. The coffee had a burnt bean taste which is something I expect for an espresso style coffee. I love having several milk alternatives which this cafe has.
Shannon S — Google review
The drip coffee is typical of independent shops in that it has a ‘grassy’ taste I don’t care for ( but is apparently enjoyable for others.). I get around this by ordering an Americano. Nice selection of pastries, salads, and sandwiches. There is chilled A/C inside for hot summer days, and garden-like outdoor seating for the nice Tucson Winters. Parking is adequate, but entering and exiting the retail center can be dicy. Prices sre high, but not off the chart.
PappaJohn F — Google review
Came here for the first time and the cafe was cute - not a ton of seating inside and a couple of tables on their patio. Place was pretty busy on a Saturday morning, but we didn't have to wait long for our order. We ordered 2x 20 oz mochas, a breakfast burrito and a breakfast sandwich and our total came to $53. The mochas were nice tasting and the food tasted clean and fresh, but was also bland. For the portion size and taste of the sandwich and burrito, the price of $12-13 is a bit much on top of the overpriced Mochas/coffee. Aside from the prices, the service was decent.
Mori — Google review
Cozy charming small food place, in a beautiful plaza, and a relaxing jovial ambiance. No reservations, inside seating limited but larger pet friendly outdoor seating area available. Food was plenty, flavorful, and felt “natural” and healthy. Plaza is close on River /Campbell crossroads and Rillito bike path goes right by. Farmers market occur here also certain dates. Plan a trip! Wont regret.

This is a hidden gem in Tucson! My first time visiting and it will not be my last. The staff was quite friendly and offered great menu suggestions! Other staff were baking their scrumptious goodies! The seating options were my favorite! Inside, the bar near a door and the patio!!! The patio!!! 😁😁 Beautiful coffee, beautiful location! Lovely!!!

Quaint but busy little coffeeshop hidden away serving up some tasty treats and even tastier coffee. Get the Mexican Mocha! Sweet and spicy is a combo made in heaven.

The service was excellent and very friendly even though it was extremely busy. They did not have caramel frappes on the menu, but the person up front assured me they could make me one. It's a little on the pricey side but very tasty nonetheless. I also ordered a banana strawberry smoothie. It was also very tasty and highly recommended this establishment.

Visited for the first time over five years ago and had the BEST beans (Brazilian Collectivo) that pushed me to get into coffee. I messaged them on Instagram a couple weeks ago trying to find the bag, not only did they respond but they were incredibly helpful and I was able to try the (incredible) beans again! Thank you SO MUCH to whoever helped for your time and effort!!Couldn't recommend more for quality, customer service and kind humans! Wishing all the best for this coffee shop☺️

This is my favorite north Tucson park. It's a little secluded and kind of hidden. The grass area is perfect for grounding, there is a wonderful little playground for the littles, and a lot of nature trails. If you go on the right mornings, you can meet lots of friendly pups!

This place is beautiful natural and well loved community park for everyone to do something. Nice green grass, place for little ones to ride their trikes, and walking trails for people and pets.

Great park with open grassy areas surrounded by a paved sidewalk loop. Perfect for young kids riding bikes and scooters. Beautiful Mountain Views. The Rillito River bike loop runs close to the park, so we enjoyed the bike ride on the way here. The larger natural desert area has trails that lead to hidden gardens and a cool rock maze, “the labyrinth“.
James M — Google review
great place to take a short walk, check out the mountain, and it even has a really neat little labyrinth. Definitely not something you will find in any other park in Tucson.
Bronson A — Google review
Great for Grandparents and a safe place for their grandchildren. It’s located far enough away from locations that allow inappropriate camping. Safety first. As a grandparent we shouldn’t have to worry about the bad guys. Isn’t that why we worked our whole lives and paid taxes? So in our retirement our parks would be safe?
PAUL D — Google review
Clean, relaxing park, although the Labyrinth was not the easiest to locate within the grounds... From the parking lot, follow the cleared dirt path to the right of the playground area; once you spot a large solitary dead tree up ahead, the Labyrinth is just past it on the right.

Best kept secret at the north end of Tucson. Beautiful on south shore of the Rialito with a stunningly close panorama of the Catalina Mountains. I love my sunsets there and enjoying watching the informal gathering of dogs and their hoomans who gather around 5 pm. Great circle around walkways, tables, nature all around. Alvernon Park is a lovely neighborhood park in Tucson, serving as a memorial to fallen police officer Jeffrey H. Ross. The park features a well-maintained playground, basketball court, and open spaces for baseball and soccer. Despite some issues with homelessness and downed trees after a recent hailstorm, the park offers shady areas, water fountains for both people and dogs, and facilities for picnicking and grilling.
I love the walking trail they added! It got rid of some parking though... Either way, a park that is pretty great for the local community.

It's a very pretty little park that my son and I just discovered because we were looking for someplace quiet on Labor Day to walk our dog. The downside was the two used needles my son found on top of the children's playhouse and the unhoused gentleman who, we think, was trying to sell us alcohol and was then joined by a woman who also mumbled something to us. We politely declined, but our "quiet" place turned out to not be.

A really nice park that could really use restrooms but it has a homeless/addict problem that the city and neighborhood are always working hard to deal with. The grass and huge trees make it nice for enjoying the park. great playground they usually keep very clean and a basket ball court. Gates Pass Scenic Lookout is a stunning destination nestled within the Tucson Mountains Park, renowned for its breathtaking views and serene atmosphere. Established in the early 1880s by Thomas Gates, who personally funded its construction, this scenic route offers an unforgettable experience for visitors. As you navigate through the enchanting desert landscape, you'll be treated to sweeping vistas that are particularly mesmerizing at sunset—making it a prime spot for both sunset watching and stargazing.
Great lookout and start to some trails. Loved the old ruins of buildings but hate the graffiti. There is a bathroom if needed. Good parking!

My family has been coming here since 1972. Great place to watch the Sunset, look over the Coyote Mountain range, the singing Rocks area, see Kitt peak, sneak a kiss, take breathtaking pictures, propose to a loved one. Get there early, parking is limited. A little hiking to see the best Sunset depending on the time of year.

WOW! Gates Pass in Saguaro National Park is absolutely gorgeous! We enjoyed a stunning sunset motorcycle ride through the mountains, surrounded by breathtaking landscapes. I’ve never seen so many Saguaro cacti all in one place—it's truly a sight to behold! This spot is perfect for capturing incredible photos. The trails in the area offer great opportunities for walking and soaking in the beauty around you. Just a tip: make sure to wear the right shoes for the terrain and bring plenty of water to stay hydrated. There are numerous places to pull off and park, allowing you to walk around and fully enjoy the scenery. I recommend getting there early, especially for sunset viewing, as it tends to get busy. Also, there's a restroom available, which is a nice convenience. Overall, Gates Pass is a must-visit destination for anyone who loves nature and stunning views!

This is a nice area for druggies to hangout while planning their next side quest to get money to score some crack. Do not bring kids here, if you do examine the play ground closely for sharps before letting them play on it. The homeless mostly keep to themselves but if you are not used to them they can seem pretty sketchy.

Congratulations to the City of Tucson Department of Parks and Recreation for building us a new 🐕 park. It's got grass, water fountain for the pups and several benches under large shade throwing trees. There a promise of a light in one corner of the park for people who want to wait until the sun goes down before exposing their pups 🐾 to extreme heat and sidewalk. It is a nice little park. The dogs were released from the people who live there, they want to attack the people and the dogs who are on the chain with their owners. the horror is great, and I feel nervous. that park should be closed or renovated with a person who will keep it clean. also, junkie people are there doing things that shouldn't be done in that zombie horror park, I can't believe that Shepard Dog BLACK BIG SHEPARD is still out on the street attacking people. For such a horrible part of town... Crackheads, homeless theives and drug dealers literally everywhere...but my landlord Jason does his best to make sure that this property stays nice as possible considering the run down area. He is a very good person and a very hard worker. He does not miss a beat and makes sure that he does his job proficiently and promptly, all with no computer, everything is manually managed. He's his own maintenance man, pool man, accountant, handyman, furniture outlet, helps the elderly and watches out for all of his tenants . . He is amazing and a man of many faces. He makes sure that everything is meticulously clean and all public facilities are always clean locked working properly. By far the best landlord I have ever had, not to mention the month to month leasing options and the quality of people here at Amphi. You can tell he takes his time on who he lets in our community l,I cannot complain. Just wish we had cameras.. some of us would feel more safe and more safe for everyone. 2020 That park is full of vagrants and Junkies now if I was you I would not let my child play there unless you want them to get stuck by a syringe or get introduced to heroin and meth at an early age if that's you can go ahead and take them there all day everyday and they will come home load it and know how to find a vein to tap into real quick -update 2024 now there is no benches or porta potty almost everything was ripped out as far as slides and anything children can play on there is literally nothing just maybe a Ramada and a bench there used to be a basketball court I don't think that is there anymore I don't recall but it is a shell of what it used to be and now since heroin is not what's people's Mane Choice it's now the blues m 30s so at least you won't run into syringes all over the ground it's mainly foils and cut up straws so I guess it's a little better in the sense you won't get some random Disease by accidentally stabbing yourself with somebody's old uncapped syringe lying around or your children won't get in contact with it and come home with hep c and some type of other transmitted disease. So went from bad to worse in a matter of 8 years from when I first seen it it actually was a real park with a porta potty in it back in 2016 as I recall now it is just empty with trash and some nodding homies that's all if you're into it then that's the spot have fun

A nice little park that at first seems a little out of place for the location but it certainly grows on you. An oasis like this is much needed in the neighborhood, and from the sheer numbers of visitors that come in the course of a day's time, one can only assume that everyone living nearby feels the same way! A bright, colorful playground that's very well kept tells us immediately that things are all about family here. Barbecue grills, Ramadas, picnic tables, and lotsa running room for the dogs here! It's usually spotless here as well, so let's try to keep it that way! Way to go, Tucson!

My dog loves this park, nice grass. Early morning sometimes has homeless people like any park, but they wake up from their nap and leave by 7 or 8 and never pan handle or bother me, so it is not a problem to me. They are human and need some place they are allowed to be. Not the best park in town but I like it when I am in the area

The bike park is a great experience for young riders. There is lots of different tracks to choose from. There is a few homeless people living out there. They keep to themselves. They do try to stay out of the way. The bike park has huge potential to be a profit business.

My son and I biked around for about 30 minutes wondering where the skills areas were, but all we found were a couple of basic trails winding through homeless camps. The trails may have been marked at some point, but there’s no longer any indication of where to go, and there are several trails that branch off at various spots, so it’s easy to go down the wrong path. By the time we figured out where the trails that led to the skills areas were, my son was too frustrated to check it out. We saw 0 skills areas, 4 shopping carts, 1 broken baby stroller, 1 old mattress, 1 passed out bum, and 2 more bums that looked like they hadn’t slept in a week. Not sure if I’ll waste any more time coming back to figure it out, when I can just hit a regular trail and know it’s going to be fun.
Brad L — Google review
This is a mountain bike park but it is still under development. A local mountain bike group is responsible for getting the ball rolling on this project. However it is open and what they have done you can ride on. The desert vegetation is largely preserved and the pre-existing paved bike route for bike commuters or recreational bicyclists goes thru and is unaffected. One caution, the desert scrub forest is frequented by homeless people and encampments. Not to be politically incorrect I've had a few nervous encounters. I carry pepper spray (haven't had to use it) and recommend having a companion. If I encounter the same individuals several times I've been known to hang a grocery bag of food and snack items on my handlebars and give it to them. Most homeless individuals don't stay long. The city police every once in a while move the homeless to better facilities but new residents move in and policing is sporadic as our men and women in blue are stretched thin a lot of the time. So just be aware.
