I had high hopes for the cheese burek, but unfortunately, it didn’t quite meet my expectations. On the other hand, the Bosnian Manti was a delightful surprise and truly enjoyable. I appreciated the reasonable prices and the quick service, though it would have been nice to experience a bit more warmth from the staff. Overall, it was a mixed experience.

Absolutely the best Burek I've had in Sarajevo, we came three days in a row for dinner to this place, and again when I returned to Sarajevo. The food is amazing, with vegetarian and meat options for customers. The seating is indoor and outdoor. It's the same shop next door, so you can also go to the toilet inside the other shop. Friendly staff, too.

Good burek. The meat one has too much fat and ligament. The spinach butek was better. Good staff.

The burek here was delicious, crispy, warm and full of flavor. Overall, it was a solid experience at the evening in Baščaršija. However, we were told by the waiter that the cheese burek was finished, only to see it served to nearby tables shortly after. A bit disappointing. Clearer communication about wait times would’ve made a difference. But still, worth visiting.

The restaurant takes place in a very busy street, which makes it also special because you can feel the city's soul. We tried 3 kind of burek, all of them were really good. It's worth to try!

The food is quite tasty, I got it for breakfast and it was enough to get energy for a big time. The thing is that if you go as a tourist the people working there are just running they dont explain you anything from the menu and its in bosnian language, there are few options but still. You can only pay with cash.

The Burek and other Pitas are not really pita‘s.🫓❌As a bosnian i can tell you, you will pay a lot for something that is not really good. It tastes 20% how a pita really tastes… It is really an industrial🏭 pita nothing more… The joghurt on the pita was thrown on it and lot like it must be done: elapsed on it. Location i cool. Servicestaff is very busy…

Nice authentic coffee shop. For me the best Bosnian coffee I have tried in old town. I went back there every day. The owner is really nice and speaks good English. Good value for money. Will come back!

A café with a very elegant and pleasant atmosphere. Allowing us to bring our own food was a particularly kind and thoughtful gesture. Although the Turkish tea we ordered was brewed from loose leaf tea(Kaçak çay🙂), we really enjoyed its taste with our friends. A cozy spot for nice conversations — definitely recommended!

Wonderful authentic coffee experience Definitely recommend opting for the Bosnian coffee for a lovely authentic experience. It's served in beautiful copperware. The interior is super nice, and the little terrace is located on a not so busy little street, it felt like a hidden gem. Very clean bathroom, which tells something about their standards too. Perfect service. Payment possible by cash only, but they accept euros too. Completely recommended.

Lovely caffee, friendly service. Calm place in one of the little streets with not many tourists. Tables inside and outside. Music is not too loud for being able to speak.

I had the brunch Sarajevo, which included eggs (your choice on preparation), Bosnian smoked meat, chicken, cheese, cold cuts, fresh tomatoes, adjvar, and sour cream. Everything was delicious and Dino was a great server. I enjoyed the view outside but the decor inside is super cute. Big plus - you can pay by card. The music is really good as well and everything very well priced

Great breakfast spot in the old town of Sarajevo!! Staff were super friendly and the food came out very quickly. I ordered the Eggs Royale with fresh orange juice. My wife ordered the Bosnian Breakfast with an iced coffee. Both of our orders were delicious. The view of the hills when sitting outside is amazing and the atmosphere in the Baščaršija, makes the experience all the more better. The inside of the shop is also nice - giving Mr Doodle vibes. Would definitely recommend and come back here again.

I got the Egg benedict and Café Caramelinho. The food is absolutely amazing, Egg and beef is perfect, Bread is soft. Coffee was great. Person that served us was kind. Definitely recommend coming here. 10/10.

Had a great breakfast at this place. The Eggs Benedict were perfectly cooked and tasty. They also offer coffee with vegan milk, which is a rare find in the Balkans. The view from the outdoor tables is beautiful and creates a very pleasant atmosphere.

Tasted like free hostel breakfast. Honestly, I have no idea how this place has good reviews, it is literally the worst meal I have tasted in months. I ordered a caramel iced coffee which was genuinely just caramel sauce and milk, I couldn’t taste any sort of coffee flavour. Had to order an extra espresso shot on top of an already expensive (8KM) “coffee”. We ordered the Bosnian brunch which came with rubbery/overcooked eggs, dry stale bread and pretty terrible sausages. The Kajmak (cheese) was fine but the Ajvar was gone off and tasted really funky and made me feel a bit sick. Not great for a meal costing 12KM. The smoked meats and cheese were fine but tasted cheap and bad quality. Service was fine, not great or very friendly, but the waiter asked me for a tip when I was paying which left more of a bad taste (if that’s even possible) in my mouth. 0/10 do not go here, it’s a massive tourist trap, overpriced, poor quality, and the interior is honestly super tacky 😛 can’t believe I wasted money and stomach space on this food when there’s so much delicious amazing friendly Bosnian restaurants/breakfast places around

I was recommended coming here from Instagram and had looked forward to the esthetics and the food. The place is lovely. The food was good and so was the coffee and juice. The staff that work here are another story in itself. They come off as bored, entitled, rude and slow, they also seem more interested in engaging conversation with each other than helping the consumer. They also seem to be badmouthing the customers in Bosnian when they think they aren't looking or leaving. We had to ask twice for both the coffee we wanted, extra utensils and for an extra glass of water with our coffee (we only got one) the waiter we got was apparently too lazy get us another and commented "oh only one is needed I see" (that is a very unusual way to get your coffee here and for the price you are paying for a singular espresso you would think a glass of tap water was asking for too much). When he returned the provocative behavior continued and he felt the need to repeat again "and another pair of utensils, right?" After I had asked for this twice already; both when he got to our table and when I went inside after 15 minutes of waiting. I felt this commentary could have been spared. Unfortunately due to this staff we will not be returning, their behavior ruined our impression of Brunch SA. I therefore can not recommend this place to anyone. Save your money and go somewhere else where they won't ruin your experience and take your money doing so.

Really tasty Bosnian coffee, friendly people and a cool rustic interior. Beautiful little terrace situated on the hill for ideal people watching and enjoying the street vibe, but i preferred to chill inside and enjoy the company of this sleeping kitten. Sort of makes for a makeshift cat cafe vibe. After coffee i tried one of their house specialties, the rose sherbet and it was very tasty! Great spot that’s open late and in the heart of everything on this side of town.

A very nicely decorated café. The tables are old sewing machine tables. It's still located in the old town, giving it a completely different feeling. Since it's a bit higher up, you can enjoy the view and the street atmosphere. The Bosnian coffee was delicious, and the rose sherbet was very pleasant. The staff were very nice and friendly. The evening feels even different.

I drank Bosnian coffee in 3 places, this was the most suitable for my taste. The cafe is so softy drink. I definitely recommend it. The staff is so friendly.

Such a cute coffee shop on a beautiful street. Authentic Bosnian coffee and such sweet staff. Great place to relax away from the business of the old town. But close enough to still people watch and slow down :) Amerlena was so kind to us.

I drank the best Salep in Sarajevo here. Highly recommended, especially at sunset. A great place to enjoy a good Salep.

The food is actually very good, the problem is the service which very often is rude or incompetent. Specifically the waitress with long dark hair that managed to be extremely rude and unprofessional with everyone in the restaurant while we were sitting the for 30 min. Atmosphere feels worn down and not very cozy anymore. It needs some good renovation and workforce restructure.

I've had lunch here a few times, and the main issue is the lack of consistency. Ordering the same dish on different days doesn't guarantee you'll get the same ingredients or preparation, the food varies quite a bit each time.

All I can say is if you are in Sarajevo and bored of local food this is a place to be at!! Grat food, (prices are a bit expensive) great service. Worth a checking out. Place is clean and nice. We will be back!

I opted for the tagliatelle with salmon during my visit. The dish had its highs and lows—the tagliatelle was flavorsome and satisfying. Unfortunately, the salmon was a bit of a disappointment, seemingly frozen and lacking in taste. However, the staff was incredibly pleasant and attentive, which enhanced the overall experience. The restaurant's atmosphere, especially the terrace, added to the pleasant dining ambiance. A mixed experience with moments of delight and room for improvement.

I had lunch today and made the mistake not to review the bill. The waiter charged 24 km of food we did not order. The food was fine. Nothing extraordinary. I will not return.

Walnut is a local product of Bosnia. I tried the baklava with walnuts. He was very successful. There are 2 different types of baklava made in rolls, such as almonds and walnuts. My favorite is again in favor of the walnut one. Employees are caring and friendly.

The only authentic Bosnian baklava in old town. Great taste and good selection. Highly recommend for a unique types of baklava - with almond, hazelnut, kaymak. My favorite was hazelnut and kaymak roll, something I never seen anywhere before. Brought also a box to take with me back home. If you take big tray, they vacuum seal it and it can be put in very esthetic metal box. I must say packing is really thought of and is basically a cherry on top. Also worth mentioning, that lady in the shop, as I remember, her name is Amina - really thoughtful and helpful, was very nice to customers and patient. My only regret, I didn't take more with me.

Its a small place to sit and get a baklava, the lady inside its nice and you can pay with card or cash. Good price with a good quality of the dessert, plus you can sit outside or inside looking the city center.

The experience was nice, the worker was friendly and helpful, baklava is good and it's a family business that they run through generations, as a pistachio fan I can't say I didn't like the baklava. Just that it had so much syrup.

On our final day in Sarajevo, we came to try Mrvica for breakfast. I ordered my go to - eggs royale and my wife an omelette. The eggs royale came on a croissant from their bakery, instead of the usual muffin or bread. It was very nice. I liked how the tea came with shots of concentrated lemon and orange juice. Mrvica have a large bakery with lots of great options, in terms of breads, cakes and other desserts. Staff members were very friendly and provided great service. Highly recommend!!

Such a nice bakery. Loved loved the Sebastian cheesecake along with the pista sauce, it was too extra delicious. Couldn’t get the hands off. Cafe affogato was so nice too. Overall a nice vibe and good setting

A lovely café with a great atmosphere. We enjoyed the omelette, which was nice, and there’s a fantastic selection of cakes. Unfortunately, some breakfast items like sunny-side-up eggs weren’t available, so the kids couldn’t have a simple option. The tuna sandwich was over-toasted and difficult to eat. Service was quite slow, likely due to how busy it was, but overall still a pleasant experience.

We had a wonderful time here. The atmosphere was pleasant and inviting, the food was good, and the service was really nice. They have a charming backyard too. We sincerely hope to return again.

We came to the right cafe for dessert after a great night and dinner at Sarajevo. Wide variety of cakes and desserts. We absolutely loved the Pistachio Latte and San Sebastián Cheesecake pistachio

A large, beautiful cafe. They have a very wide selection of dishes, desserts, and drinks. The cafe is spacious and has plenty of seating, including a small covered patio. The desserts were delicious. The staff were very friendly and welcoming.

Ice creams are sold at 3 different prices, gold silver and bronze. I tried the one with walnuts. It was very delicious. Pastry products also looked very good. Employees are caring and friendly.

Disappointed in the taste/quality of the ice cream today. We've visited Marshall's each time we've been in Sarajevo for the last three years. The price has always been at the higher end but the quality of the product warranted it. Previously I would have given 5 stars for the food.

What a fun place to grab coffee and a desert. They have a wide variety of cakes and gelato (ice cream) to choose from. Even on a cold winter day it was a pleasure to step inside to the heat and get a sweet treat. The server was caring and thoughtful, he brought glasses of tap water with our deserts and coffee without even being asked. What foresight and great customer service!

Visiting Sarajevo and found this wonderful cafe as we were walking around. Very family friendly and cosy. The customer service was outstanding. We had the Italian coffee (so good), gelato ice cream which was lovely. The salad was lovely and buffalo cheese fresh. We also had the pistachio tart which was perfect. Just the right amount of sweetness and bursting with flavour. Hope to revisit before we get back.

great place to snack something, have a drink, take a break... very clean... they have lots of chocolate specialty items in the menu. the service is great. But i was a little disappointed with the peperino as it turned out coffee with pepper (as described in the menu) is quite literally espresso and a black pepper shake :) I was expecting some spicy blend instead.

Hidden down an alley, you can eat at standing tables outside. Good selection! Strudla sa makom was delicious. Spinach pite and cheese kifle also good! Took it to eat in the airport going home and it still tasted good hours later.

It’s the oldest bakery in the city and it is so worth it. A bit hidden but has amazing pastries.

It was our first time here and They treated us bad !! because we were choosing what we will get and counting the cash to give them!! The lady working shouted on us saying “there are people waiting” but there were only 1 group of friends and they also were not already decided what to take ! Ps: they were two women working so one could get the money from us and the other woman could serve the group behind us (easy). And it’s just like any other bakery nothing special.

I did not really have an issue with service here, maybe I got lucky. I enjoyed their kifle first and then I loved the one with sesame so much so that I ended up buying 5 more for back home. It is possibly the best bread-like baked good I had in my entire life. Just the right amount of salt and sesame on top of an already amazing baked goodies. 0.60 KM only as of July 2025 as well. Much recommended!

As a coeliac from Bosnia, living in Sweden, it is impossible for me to find pita at home. This was paradise for me! I bought the pita zeljanica and sirnica, tapiocaball, croissant with chocolate and a baklava. It was all so fresh, tasteful and not at all dry and/or compact as gluten free products tend to be. My best recommendations!

First time trying gluten-free burek 😋☀️ (The bakery is small without any places to sit) We had high expectations because we wanted to try gluten-free burek. We arrived quite late so there wasn’t so much left. Therefore, arrive early to get fresh and to have many options 💖 Luckily, they had burek with spinach and one with cheese. The one with spinach tasted really good and the one with cheese was good. But the best of these two were the one with spinach. Unfortunately it didn’t taste as fresh anymore, but we liked it anyway. But keep in mind that the bakery doesn’t have any places to sit and enjoy the food, and this was i thing I missed…

Worth seeking out this place to try gluten free burek. Was delicious! Also the slatka strudla was one of the best pastries I’ve ever had.

I had not come here in a while. When I finally did, I was given two brownies, which was odd. One of them had mold on the bottom. I don't understand why the staff wouldn't just throw it away instead of selling a product that is not safe to eat. I'm very disappointed in the decline of quality and standards as someone who loved going here often.

This place is heaven on earth if you have celiac disease. Burek, krumpiruša, croissants, cakes and many other things that you can't buy anywhere else. Owner is such a nice guy and he completely understands what life with this disease means. He even gave us free tapioka rolls. I can't recommend this place enough. Just make sure you order in advance if you want to buy a bit larger amounts so they can prepare it.

We tried most of the bureks, they were nice. We ordered them with yogurt or clotted cream. I recommend that. Tea is different from tea in Turkey. I think you will enjoy it more with cold drinks.

Very tasty burek and pies. They are not too fatty, they are really tasty with ayran. We tried cheese and burek with meat, we don't know which is tastier. Fast service. Prices are affordable.

This is the most popular burek shop but I didn't like the minced meat burek. I think Turks have hyped this place because of a different kind of burek and a bit of popular culture. The filling was rich but the minced meat was not roasted so it was very heavy and raw. It's like “Çiğ Börek”, a Turkish delicacy, but the taste is more intense and heavy. I liked the one with cheese better, but in general, all the pastries are fat-free, which is a plus point. And the waiters are very kind.

I am Turkish from the Netherlands. This place has the best sirnica borek (cheese) I ever had and the best mantije. I tried multiple places and this one was the best of them in stari grad/old city Sarajevo

As a tourist passing through Sarajevo, I decided to try Mrvica for breakfast, but unfortunately it didn’t live up to expectations. The food felt lackluster and not particularly fresh—almost as if the kitchen just threw a few random items together on the plate. The coffee was equally underwhelming, nothing memorable or worth coming back for. To be fair, locals may see this place differently, and I respect that. But for me, breakfast at home would have been leaps and bounds better than what I had here. Overall, I walked away disappointed and wouldn’t recommend it unless you’re just looking for a very basic bite to start the day.

Best cafe in Sarajevo and great location on the way to the airport. We had breakfast there right before our flight and it was great as usual. Would recommend the eggs with salmon if you like smoked salmon, otherwise the Eggs Benedict is amazing. Of course we couldn’t leave before having coffee with their amazing San Sabastian cake.

Amazing desserts that you can never find anywhere else in Sarajevo and Ilidza. The ingredients are top quality and the sugar balance is great. The waiters are professional and friendly. Atmosphere is also very comfortable.

This is a nice place to have a meal or snack in this part of town. The place was very busy at lunchtime, therefore not very easy to find place. The food is creative and their cheese cake was really 👌 nice. Service was prompt, although one could notice that the place is understaffed. Overall, it was a good experience.

Well, what I learned about this place that is next door to my accommodation in Sarajevo, is that it is not welcoming of visitors to the area. I attempted to figure out what they sold, but there is no signage regarding products sold. There is a doorbell that one presses to summon staff. I pressed it and an older woman appeared from inside and stared blankly at me with no greeting. I greeted her in Bosnian, and then attempted to use Google translate, but she wasn’t having it. Fresh somun bread 1.50KM each. The freshness texture - soft snd hot is what makes it a better bread than those from the supermarket

We saw a big queue outside this place while visiting Sarajevo. We asked one of the locals what it was about. They showed us a flat bread in a bag and explained that the queue was due to the iftar time (breaking fast time during Ramadan). We decided to buy the bread next day. The staff was friendly and helpful. And the bread it’s just delicious! We bought 5 to share with family and friends back home!

Just average flatbread for 1.50KM each. The owner is not friendly at all and starts shouting towards customers.

The service was great and welcoming but the food was a disaster. The ribeye steak on the picture had nothing to do with what came in, I couldn’t eat it. The french fries was cold but the waitress directly recognized and came in with hot ones. The octopus was also cold, as was the barbecued vegetables so BIG SHAME on the kitchen but the service did their best to make up for it but still DON’T EAT HERE.

Edit: avoid at all costs; numerous other reviews have warned about this place - I wish I had read them ahead of time. Just had Bosanski Sahan here. What was delivered was only 70-75% of what was advertised (see pic with my plate and pic to top left of menu) in terms of proportions. The young waitresses and waiters were just doing their jobs and getting shouted at by their bosses. I was hungry and decided to eat the food as is, and it was a of normal quality, neither too high nor too low. I think most tourists were there out of desperation too. Afterwards, the waiter conveyed my complaint to the owner, a large man sitting in front of a display inside the restaurant, but the latter was dismissive and didn’t offer any discount much less an excuse, what to say of an apology. I didn’t argue and just walked out after paying the 20KM (10€) price. Way overpriced. Last time I go there.

Food was awful, I ordered the lamb with potatoes (highly recommend by the waiter). 3/4 of the lamb was just a bone and rest mostly was fat ( I didn’t eat the lamb,my portion of the meat is on the left side of the plate). I informed the waiter about it and he only shrugged his shoulders saying that is what it is and he will talk to people in the back. We had order of stuffed chicken and that meal tasteless and chicken was too tough to be eaten. Only thing during this dinner was cabbage salad. Service was awful, food was awful and the price OMG, extremely overpriced (double and more than other restaurants around plus %3 extra if you pay by credit card! Please don’t waist your money there. We did !

Loved my meal here. We sat downstairs and enjoyed the traditional art and artifacts decorating the place. The grilled meats on my “sword” were perfectly seasoned and cooked. Loved the stuffed vegetables, too. We enjoyed meeting the owner and the staff took great care of us. Will return for sure!

Absolutely Disappointing Experience I would not recommend Steak House Bosanska Kuća to anyone — especially not to tourists from Gulf countries who care about transparency, fairness, and halal standards. • Portion sizes are ridiculously small for the price. I left the restaurant feeling like I had just eaten an appetizer, despite paying a full meal price. • At the entrance, it clearly states “no alcohol served”. When I asked the staff, they confirmed they do not serve alcohol. But minutes later, I watched foreign tourists talking to staff and being served alcoholic beer at their table — without hesitation. • When I asked the staff why this double standard exists or why the sign is misleading, they had no explanation at all. Just awkward silence. • Honestly, after witnessing this dishonesty, I doubt whether the meat is even halal. If they’re willing to lie about alcohol, what else aren’t they telling us? 👎 Dear fellow travelers from the Gulf and other Muslim-majority countries: don’t let this place make fools of you. There are better, more honest restaurants out there that respect their customers — and their own rules.

We are visiting Bosnia and was our first day at Sarajevo, we went to steakhouse, ordered Rib-eye steak and fillet soya, food was amazing and the waiter was exceptionally good and very courteous. Highly recommend this place.

Good French bakery in Sarajevo? Yes! The main point in my opinion are the different sorts of bread, which we're all really tasty. Important point, this is probably the only place in the town, where you can get proper wholewheat bread, which is supper tasty and filling. We tried as well some pastries. All very good, for me the sample and measurement of good French patisserie "lemon meringue tart" was definitely one of the better ones I tasted do far.

Almond croissant is very good! Even after a couple of days🤩 Unfortunately, no places to sit though

This French inspired bakery made feel like we are in a cafe in Paris. The atmosphere is cozy and the service is great. We took an almond croissant and it was so tasty. Great value for money!

What to say about this amazing french bakery!! There is two shops - one placed in Kranjceviceva street , one in here :) Staff is very helpful, since they are selling some very original and different kinds of bread and stuff.. If you want something very tasty and healthy you should buy in Maison Coco. --------------------------------------- Maison Coco jedna je od najboljih, najprofesionalnijih pekara na podrucju BiH, obzirom da su peciva i hljeb izradjeni po francuskoj recepturi, cijene jesu malo visocije nego u drugim pekarama, ali zaista vrijedi!!! Nikada nisam probala bolji hljeb ili slatka peciva nego ovdje!! Peciva se doslovno tope u ustima, i strucno osoblje vas upozna sa sastojcima :) uvijek imaju najbolju preporuku. Ako pekara - onda definitivno Maison Coco - nece vas iznevjeriti!
