Masons of Bendigo is an industrial-chic restaurant located in the heart of Bendigo's CBD, offering a modern Australian dining experience. The restaurant boasts sleek lines and sophisticated touches, creating a perfect setting for a special night out. Chef Nick Anthony showcases his culinary expertise by incorporating global flavors into locally sourced produce, presenting dishes that range from Asian to Mediterranean and even Middle Eastern influences. The drinks list features a strong regional focus, including Central Victoria's champion wines, beer, and cider.
Amazing food and service as always. Although it’s sad that I won’t be able to have Masons again. I will seriously miss miso infused butter and your sourdough bread! And of course many more delicious dishes that will always remain in my memory. I really admire your talent to create delicious dishes. Thank you so much for giving so many beautiful memories to many of us. Best of wishes 🤍

The food was delicious and presented beautifully. A really creative menu, excellent service and a great wine list. Our sommelier was knowledgeable and passionate, making the wine pairing an engaging experience. The chefs’ talent truly shone through. I was thrilled they called me after we were waitlisted. We’re so happy we got the chance to dine here before they close at the end of the year. Overall, a delightful dining experience!

We are a group of 8 coming Bendigo for the weekend just for dining at Masons. It was delightful. The settings classy, the service impeccable, the food presentation exquisite, the most important element, the tasting was wonderful, delicious, fantastic combination of flavours and textures with every bite. Well worth the trip from Melbourne.
Thanh H — Google review
Masons of Bendigo was absolutely outstanding! This restaurant in country Victoria is well worth planning a road trip around the experience. Simply excellence and innovation on a plate! So much local produce (done very well) to enjoy. Prepare yourself for the taste sensation of the year! Fantastic service with much attention to detail. We were served by the wonderful Simon and Elijah (Eli). Thanks so much for such a memorable night! So many superlatives - I could go on forever :-) The photos will help you see the magic that happens here. We are very particular about good food and this restaurant is amazing. Cannot recommend highly enough. We will return!

Thoroughly impressed! Honestly bang for you buck fine dining. So many elements to each dish, all prepared and cooked to absolute perfection. Thoughtful and well designed menu. Amazing use and show case of local produce. Fantastic atmosphere and dining experience. The chefs are clearly talented. Left so full. Little to no waiting between dishes. Friendly, personable, helpful and fun staff. 100% would come back, I rate this better than most of the fine dining restaurants in Melbourne. So lucky to have these guys here in Bendigo. Thank you!!!
Patti T — Google review
Worth the hype. If you're looking for a fine dining experience outside of Melbourne, Masons is a great choice. Extremely helpful staff that were happy to make recommendations (based on what you like, not what is most expensive, like some fine dining). There is a set menu which changes seasonally but there is room for dietary changes. Great wines and cocktails. Beautiful venue but can be a bit noisy due to it's small size, and parking is limited. Overall a lovely meal.
Aydin B — Google review
Absolutely blown away, this is by far the best restaurant in Victoria and is on a level with my favourite restaurant in SA. The food was beautifully presented with all flavours perfectly working together. My compliments to the chef responsible for the pastry used in the tomato tarts, it was so delicate yet held together until the fork touched it.
Snowypods — Google review
Masons is a very fine restaurant. We thoroughly enjoyed our meal here. The food was superbly presented and every dish was delicious. The matched wines were a highlight too. The service was gorgeous as well. This is a most impressive regional restaurant where they do everything well. Highly recommended.

Nestled in Bendigo's Chancery Lane, The Dispensary Bar & Diner is a trendy and cozy space that offers a wide range of Modern Australian dishes, cocktails, and an impressive selection of over 100 kinds of beer. This hidden gem boasts floor-to-ceiling liquor shelves and serves up an all-in-one experience with an extensive drink menu featuring craft beers, gins, cocktails, and wine.
Fabulous birthday lunch a short stroll from the Bendigo Art Gallery. Great wait staff, amazing food and fabulous selection of wines and cocktails. We will be back.

My husband, Patrick, and I travelled to Bendigo on Easter Sunday for the Festival and ended up finding this 💎 gem of a restaurant. We started off with cocktails 🍸, selected the 'Lucky Seven' for our lunch (a cross-section of 👨‍🍳 chef's selection of 7 dishes for the day and this delicious food was accompanied by a bottle of Rose wine. The food was sensational and, honestly, every bite felt like a party in our mouths!!! Desserts were also sensational...I am not often impressed by what's out there anymore... however, this establishment was pure joy - from beginning to end!!! Not only is the venue quirky (but elegant), and also having outdoor seating under cover in a funky lane, the whole ambience/atmosphere had a great vibe!! The energy of the whole venue was next level; the servers were all enthusiascally polite, the owner, Finn, was such an engaging personality, it became clear to me how and why he made such a success of his restaurant!!! He is THE man and his chef and staff are a reflection of his discerning taste. Everything, from the decor, glasses, dishes, etc. was impeccable 👌. Truly, the food, service, drinks and the whole experience was so thoroughly enjoyed - I am still thinking about it the next day!! We will come back and will not bother dining anywhere else when coming back to Bendigo. So.... for me to write such a long review is unusual. In a word: WOW❣️ what a great place and I cannot wait to eat here again soon!!

We thoroughly enjoyed our experience here. Service by James was excellent. All food was fantastic. Loved the Moreton bay bug toast. Chicken bao were great. Scallops were delicate and fresh . The ravioli pasta was excellent. Really enjoyed the kimchi rice. All cocktails were Yummo. Would highly recommend would def return

In contrast to the casual atmosphere, the quality of food was fine dining level and we thoroughly enjoyed it. The customer service was warm and friendly. We did find it a bit noisy but that seemed to be the trade-off for the casual, friendly vibe.

On our recent trip to Bendigo for the Frida Kahlo exhibition we kicked off the Saturday night at The Dispensary. It did not disappoint we had - killer cocktails, delish tapas (including the winning Lamb taco from the taco trail comp) and a waiter that was engaging and at times had us in stitches. Bendigo, you’re full of surprises! #FoodieFind #BendigoNights

We had a wonderful lunch here and were so impressed by both the food and the service. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming, making it a perfect spot for a relaxed meal. Every dish was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented, but a special mention must go to the kimchi fried rice – it was absolutely outstanding! The balance of flavors, the perfect level of spice, and the comforting richness made it a standout dish we’ll be coming back for. Highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for delicious food and a great dining experience.

Great vibes from the moment we arrived. Staff were all very friendly and welcoming. They all seem to genuine enjoy their jobs. Food was very well done. Cocktails were good too. The Beef Rib with sorghum is perfect. Give it a try if you visit.
Kaz B — Google review
Absolutely outstanding. We selected the 7 dish feed me option. We chose very wisely. The variety was terrific. Every course was a beauty. Lots of innovation. Lots of great flavours and textures. We had no trouble selecting some good wines to share with the meal, as well. Service from Annabel was outstanding throughout. This is high level regional dining at a reasonable price. We would return here any time. Highly recommended.

Harvest Food & Wine in Bendigo offers a unique dining experience with a touch of Elvis nostalgia. The bistro-deli-cellar door serves up hearty meals like the Elvis breakfast and roast chicken, as well as more conventional options such as the Euro breakfast and pumpkin leek tart. As a cellar door for North Run Wine Co., it provides an opportunity to taste owner Lincoln Riley's wines along with other local and international selections.
This place deserves an award it’s just that good. Okay I’ve been here a few times now and you really need to get yourself a table and give it a try because besides the amazing coffee it’s food is absolutely fantastic, staff are super nice and I guess the hardest part is getting a park within the area because it’s a busy little road. I’ll end by saying “Hands down the best Roast chicken you will have”.

I love the ambience but honestly the few times Ive come here, and maybe its the way I dress the staff are not friendly or welcoming Ive tried a few times and the food is a bit overpriced They also make you feel uncomfortable if you go the wrong area They have one area for coffee brunch etc and then another for lunch. Seems they have their favourite customers! They do have a reputation for being stand-offish but if you're cool and trendy and don't mind paying a little extra its the place for you Just have to get this off my chest
Pip — Google review
To begin with, Marsha is a certified legend. If hospitality had a hall of fame, she’d be front with a croissant in hand. Came here with friends. Next thing you know, we’re emotionally attached to a raspberry danish. The almond croissant..also dangerous. 🤤 Coffee was alright, but who cares when the pastries taste like they were hand-delivered by pastry angels? Staff are super cool and incredibly approachable. Marsha in particular goes above and beyond 10/10 would let this place ruin my diet again.
Pasha R — Google review
Coffee and food were great, so was the service. Take note though - The menu isn't a typical brunch menu you would expect to find in a cafe in Melb e.g. a big brekky, chilli eggs, eggs benedict etc, and wasn't very exciting. The only thing that appealed to us was the ham and cheese croissant which was delicious in all respect but it was $20.

Went to harvest today for lunch with my wife. We had just been across the road seeing the Frida Kahlo exhibition. The food at harvest is so good. My wife had two small salads. The carrot and the beetroot. The carrot salad has these amazing tasty nuts with it. My wife let me try 1. I had the chicken in mole sauce with black rice seared corn and condiments. This was so good. The chicken was sooooo tasty. And the mole sauce was the best I have had in a long time. Hands down to the chef and all the staff at this establishment. Highly recommend if you are in the region
Antony H — Google review
Absolutely loved this spot for lunch and a wine. Food was delicious, great wine and the staff were friendly. Highly recommend a visit for somewhere with a good vibe and food that makes you do the happy dance.
Natalie — Google review
My daughter and I came here for a special outing and were told we could not sit at an empty, unreserved table near the window simply because we were “not two adults”. When questioned on this policy, they begrudgingly caved with an eye roll. I won’t be coming here again, with or without children. Why would anyone want to be treated so rudely while paying high prices for the privilege? The food is good but the environment is sadly quite toxic – I felt very uncomfortable and unwelcome after the interaction and some of the staff seemed on edge too. Please do better.

Nestled in the heart of Bendigo's arts precinct, Ms Batterhams is a delightful culinary treasure located in the basement of the historic MacKenzie Hall. This sophisticated venue boasts an elegant atmosphere with plush booths and intricate decor that enhance your dining experience. The menu features seasonal creations inspired by southern European cuisine, showcasing local delicacies crafted by talented chefs. Guests can indulge in a carefully curated wine list, refreshing locally inspired cocktails, and an impressive selection of craft beers to complement their meals.
MS BATTERHAMS – 10 Mackenzie Street, Bendigo I am a big fan of Bendigo. It is a beautiful town with a vibrancy to it. There is also some good food to be enjoyed and Ms Batterhams is now the number one choice in the town after getting to experience it earlier this week. Located in Mackenzie Quarters the setting is beautiful and you feel good being there. A warm welcome was received as we arrived and I have to say the team looking after us were just superb. Our main server was a local lass who beamed with pride as she spoke about her hometown. It genuinely added to the experience. Let’s talk about the food, because it is very very good. The approach is share plates which is my favourite way to dine. You get to try it all. We began with Croquette de elote with chipotle mayo (order one each at least) . The creaminess of the filling was melt in your mouth good and the flavour just delicious. Saltbush cauliflower was served with a scorched eggplant, and medjool date puree with toasted pepitas. The cauliflower was tender and full of taste and the puree was a surprise treat. It was an unusual blend of flavours but they certainly work together. I love a saganaki but am fussy about it because I have had some of the very best. Ms Batterhams got their offering just right with perfectly fried cheese accompanied by a honey and muscatel dressing and, on this evening, some caramelised figs. Absolutely delicious.. The fish of the day was splendidly grilled Ling with a smoked harissa and tomato sauce that tickled your tongue in the nicest of ways. We paired the fish with roasted kipfler potatoes served with piquillo peppers and chipotle mayo. It was a wonderful way to round out the mains. Thankfully there was room for dessert and my partner enjoyed a beautiful Brulee whilst I indulged in a very naughty but nice Pavlova with poached plums and raspberries accompanied by a saffron and honey ice cream that was as smooth as silk. Ms Batterhams is definitely worth the trip to Bendigo. You can take in the sights and sounds of the town while you are there but, make sure you enjoy a fabulous meal in a gorgeous setting.

We stopped into Ms Batterhams as part of the Bendigo Taco Trail — and while we were too full to do the full dinner experience, what we did try was absolutely incredible. Their take on tacos? Packed with flavour. The oysters? Fresh and beautifully presented. And the house sourdough with cultured butter… divine. Paired it all with a couple of gorgeous wines from their list and honestly didn’t want to leave. Such a stunning, intimate space with great energy and even better food and wine. Can’t wait to come back and do it properly next time!
Katie G — Google review
Celebrated my sister’s birthday here and the food, service and ambiance were outstanding! Portion size was perfect as we could try a number of dishes without feeling too full. All of the dishes that we ordered were delicious! Some favourites pictured here, the smoked trout on sourdough crumpet, saganaki with honey and muscatel dressing, gnocchi with roasted pumpkin, sage and hazelnuts, and the duck breast with purple carrot puree and pomegranate glaze. Can’t wait to go back!
Kim ( — Google review
Celebrated my birthday here and we had the chef menu. Food is yummy but the portion could have been bigger. Or maybe I’m just really a big eater. Overall, the experience was still good.
Michelle G — Google review
We had a wonderful meal at Ms Batterhams. The staff were so attentive and looked after us very well through the night. The food was exceptional- high quality and a great use of native ingredients. The sourdough was amazing, couldn’t get enough to mop up the anchovy sauce. And the kangaroo dish was one of the best we’ve had! The larger groups did make it a bit noisy at the end of the night.
Sanduni F — Google review
A spectacular dining experience. We chose lots of tapas, and shared plates and loved everything! Very attentive staff, (without being overbearing) provided excellent advice and suggestions. I highly recommend you dine here when you're in Bendigo.

What a fantastic experience for a special girls lunch. Amazing cocktails, lovely, friendly service and the freshest seafood that I’ve even had in Bendigo. You could literally taste the sea water in the oysters! We will definitely be making this our regular for girls lunch
Krystle H — Google review
Had some business to do in Bendigo and came across Ms Batterhams restaurant. Quaint small restaurant with great atmosphere. Located in central Bendigo, in the heart of the Arts Precinct, MacKenzie Quarters has been lovingly restored to embrace its 145 year old history. LUNCH 12pm - 2.30pm (thursday-Sunday) DRINKS & bites 2.30pm - 5pm (thursday-sunday) EVENING 5pm - 11pm (Monday - sunday) We didn't have a booking, and the waitress found us a table for two. The menu is designed for sharing. Starting with tapas and then there are small plates and large plates to share. This suited us as we were not looking for a large meal. We ordered some tapas, and somehow, we were now hungry for more. The sourdough bread and whipped butter with black sea salt were to die for. The best bread I have had in a long time. Each plate we ordered was in small proportions, appealing and delicious. They say you eat with your eyes. The plates here were certainly eye appealing and delicious, they were delectable. We asked for a local chardonnay, but unfortunately, there wasn't a local chardonnay on the menu. We ordered one from Macedon, which did not disappoint. The wait staff were friendly and attentive, and nothing was too much for them. This was a great find and should we need to visit Bendigo again we will return.

The Woodhouse Bar & Grill is a beloved steakhouse in Bendigo, offering a cozy and rustic dining experience. Located on Williamson Street, this restaurant is known for its friendly atmosphere and outdoor seating with a charming fireplace. The interior features beamed ceilings, dim lighting, and brick walls that create a welcoming ambiance. As you step inside, the aroma of redgum wood burning on the grill fills the air while dry-aged loins hang in chiller cabinets.
We ate here Mother's Day weekend and it was extremely busy. It has a quiet, sleek atmosphere. Love the carpet stops noise travelling. The salad was so good. The sashimi entree was my fave. Burgers were good. Steaks cooked as requested. All of the sides and entrees were enjoyable. For us this establishment had very average service. Very stiff, zero personality. Didn't read their customers well. We had to ask several times for things. Ordered a burger without bacon it came with bacon. Highly recommend the food tho.

We had the most fabulous meal here. The menu is sensational and the food delicious. Everything was cooked to absolute perfection. The staff were attentive, friendly and fun. For the quality of the food and the cosy atmosphere, we found it very reasonably priced. Lucky you Bendigo, what a gem of a place you have!

Well I went to this bar/resto because of the mango margarita and I liked the menu I saw online. Staff were very efficient and accommodating, the waiter I had for my table was very knowledgeable. The wagyu beef tartare was so tasty and morish. Then the duck was perfectly cooked and garnished with apple, potato micro greens, witloaf and blackberries. However the dessert promised to deliver a perfect 3course meal but under performed...mousse tasted weird, fondant was over cooked, icecream was nearly melted and the nib tuile was more like a slab of sugar with nibs in it...the waiter was happy with my criticism and took the item of my bill. My only other criticism was it was abit dark and hard to see changes in flooring level in places but the staff advise when this is going to happen. Lovely night and would highly recommend.

I had the pleasure of dining at The Woodhouse Bar & Grill and was thoroughly impressed by both the cuisine and the service. The steak, ordered medium rare, was cooked to perfection—tender, flavorful, and precisely as requested. It was clear that great care had been taken in both preparation and presentation. The lobster was equally outstanding, delicately coated in a garlic batter that enhanced the natural sweetness of the meat without overwhelming it. Every bite reflected a thoughtful balance of texture and taste. Service throughout the evening was attentive, professional, and seamless, contributing to a truly enjoyable dining experience. The combination of expertly prepared dishes and warm, efficient service left me with a strong desire to return. The Woodhouse Bar & Grill more than deserves a five-star rating—highly recommended.

Absolutely fantastic experience! The steak was cooked to perfection and full of flavour. The sides complemented the meal beautifully, and the service was attentive and friendly without being intrusive. The atmosphere was warm and inviting, perfect for both casual dinners and special occasions. Highly recommend this place to any steak lover!

Our group of four sat in the bar at our favourite seating..the young lady looking after us was attentive polite and excellent at her job. Our wines being Fiano Shiraz and moscato were all delicious along with the scrumptious bread to start..we then shared steak, sides and skewers..topped off with the dessert tasting plate..all were superb.. overall our experience was exactly what we have come to expect and to be honest would find it very hard to beat..thanks Woodhouse for another memorable evening.

Wow - the best steaks and sauces. The king prawns were so tasty. We highly recommend.

Still one of the best steaks I’ve ever had! We returned to The Woodhouse after last visiting Bendigo ten years ago. The lunch menu, especially the Sher Wagyu rostbiff #7 cooked over redgum, was absolutely superb. The warm and inviting atmosphere, complete with an open fire on a chilly winter’s day, made the experience even more memorable. Service was attentive and professional.

This place was amazing and caught us by surprise during our visit to Bendigo for Easter weekend. Ned kelly pie is a must try. We also loved the German donuts and jam donuts. Coffee was amazing as well. I would love to visit this next time when i visit the region.

We stayed across the road so ventured over to see what we could pick up for an early dinner. Well. We got the pie tasting board and loved it. Favourite would have to be the chicken and leek. No, the cauliflower. No, the Ned Kelly. No the Pepper Steak. No, the… you get the drift. All good. We went back the next morning for coffee and to pick up sandwiches for the road. Great sandwiches. Providing plenty of off street parking, indoor or outdoor seating, clean toilets and great staff, you’d be barmy to miss this bakery if in Bendigo.

Another great bakery by Beechworth Bakery. Very clean and friendly staff. It’s a large open space shop. I felt like there could have been a couple more chairs and tables as it was full. Everything we ordered was delicious and was priced reasonably. I have had good experiences at the Beechworth Bakery stores and this is an example of a successful business. Highly recommended

I ordered the Beechworth steak pie, expecting it to offer unique bakery flavours, but it turned out to be just a classic pie. However, their Sri Lankan beef pie was reasonably flavourful.

We had the opportunity to dine here on Saturday night. The decor is beautiful, the view out the huge window, looking into Rosalind Park, stunning. The food and service was impeccable and well deserving of the reputation Alium has work had to gain.

Had the" Feed Me" 7 courses. Loved all the dishes. Exceptional service , professional staff. Nice heritage building. Best restaurant meal I have had for some time. One small thing is it is pricey, but the quality of the food makes the wallet hit not too bad. Good cocktails.

I absolutely love coming here. There's a terrific choice of food and price points. The wine is terrific and the meals are a carefully considered and thoughtful combination of textures and flavours. I especially love coming here as a solo diner as Nick and all of the staff are more than accommodating and so kind. Their cocktails that I've had are a tasty balance of sweet and sour. Last time I visited I had the carpaccio and risotto as a starter and the crispy duck bao as a main. Especially recommend the duck - the crispy outside is perfection! Thanks Alium!

Bluebird Patisserie is a charming bakery located in the lively Bull St precinct of Bendigo. It offers a wide array of gluten-free options, including bread and all-day breakfast choices, making it a delightful stop for travelers with dietary preferences. Despite the small size of the shop, it attracts a queue due to its delectable sweet treats like almond croissants and cronuts.
The offerings in Bendigo, for a cheap and cheerful lunch are few and far between. But I’ll definitely be revisiting this cute little patisserie. I had a delicious chicken, cheese and leek pie for lunch and it was delicious. Subtle flavours and a touch of France. Next time I might break the diet for a pastry or two! They were very tempting !
Susan S — Google review
So many delicious sweet options at this patisserie which sits in the heart of Bendigo. Service was a little slow and I don’t know if their system is the most efficient. Totally worth the wait though. The cream filling in my cronut was so tasty and one of the best custard kisses I’ve had in a while. Highly recommend, nothing else like this in Bendigo.

Fantastic dog friendly place with high end cakes and strong coffee. Easy to order from the doorway - with a nervous dog who is getting used to traffic noise. Great place with friendly and helpful staff. Yep, visited twice in a week it was that good.

A touch of France in Bendigo 🇫🇷 Food tastes as good as it looks. Coffee is good too. Very elegant patisserie with friendly staff. Only drawback is that there is currently no indoor seating
Michelle H — Google review
I love Bluebird Patisserie and I have been here a few times. Love everything that I’ve eaten here but I do wish that they can label all the pastries and desserts so that it would be easier for me and other customers to choose. The labels would also make it easier for the staff as they don’t have to waste time answering what is this and that.
Syezzy — Google review
Walked past the amazing display of sweet treats on offer. I joined the queue. Yes, there was a queue even with 5 staff in this tiny shop. I had my eye on an almond croissant. Then it happened! The customer in front of me bought both of the remaining croissants! When I was asked what I wanted, I ordered my double shot flat white and expressed my disappointment in missing out on an almond croissant. The owner overheard me and said I could have one out of the oven that were finishing off if I was prepared to wait. I waited. I drank most of my coffee and ate a portugese tart. My croissant arrived, with a warning that it was piping hot. It was everything I expected including the omission of very unnecessary dusting of icing sugar. Yep!! I’ll be back. BTW this place set the benchmark on how fast a coffee can come out to your table and be the right temperature and flavour. 10/10

Nestled atop a nondescript office building, Nimbus Rooftop is Bendigo's premier rooftop bar, offering an enchanting escape with breathtaking views of the city skyline. This vibrant venue invites both locals and visitors to unwind while sipping on a delightful array of cocktails, from classic favorites like piña coladas and margaritas to unique creations such as the signature Flamingo—a tantalizing blend of pink gin and strawberry liqueur.
I hosted my law firms Christmas Party on the rooftop and it was wonderful. A great space to make your own, the drinks were great and food just what was needed for the style of function. Thanks to Nat for her hospitality!

We recently had the pleasure of visiting Nimba rooftop bar in Bendigo, and it was a delightful experience. The food was incredibly tasty, plated beautifully and with rich flavors. But the cocktails? Wow. Crafted by a true artist, they were superbly made, balancing creativity and flavor perfectly. The highlight for me was the charcuterie board —jampacked with an array of delicious, high-quality ingredients that made every bite memorable. The atmosphere was equally wonderful, vibrant yet relaxing, with stunning views overlooking the beautiful landscapes of Bendigo. A must-visit for anyone seeking great food, drinks, and ambiance!

Lovely spot for a drink in the sunshine. Staff were friendly, drinks came out and a decent pace and the cocktails were yum. Others have commented on cost, maybe compared to other local places but we found them about average or slightly less than usual.

Food and cocktails were delicious! Our meals were delivered quicky and with a smile!! One of the best Gluten free pizzas I've had!! (Big call but I'm making it) The staff did an incredible job, friendly, thoughtful and super skilled! And although they were short staffed they still took the time to point out some of Bendigo's most beautiful buildings! Can't beat the views, even in winter! We highly recommend Nimbus!!

What a wasted walk from GPO. Had a nice meal and then went to nimbus for cocktails and desserts as per a booking. Told kitchen is shut as soon as we walked in, and then one cocktail in they say they're closing. Honestly pathetic. Umm booking was made by phone for 9pm! And also the woman on the phone said yes desserts are available. so whoever replied is lying. And online says closing time is 11pm. We arrived at 9.03 pm. Because i have a snapchat to prove this. Also how do you know what booking I made? I didn't give you my details, it was under a friend's name. Maybe check before replying such lies.

Honestly…. Not very happy at all. We came here for a good night out and heard good things through word and mouth, but left extremely disappointed. Staff were friendly. Drinks were good but over priced. I don’t even know where to start with the food. It was horrendous. I wish we got the charcuterie boards! We ordered a few serves of chips and four pizzas. As you can see in the picture the chips were soggy and sad. If you can’t use the correct potato’s to make good hand cut chips you are better just buying them in… we sent one bowl back as they were still raw and floppy. They sent them back cooked more but still not crispy in the slightest. The pizzas on the other hand were dry and stingy. Flavours were nice but for $20 a pizza you would expect more. Extremely blond crust. All in all the food has absolutely no thought behind it nor any love. Come here for drinks before dinner. Don’t recommend eating here.

The Mill Castlemaine, originally established in 1875 as the Castlemaine Woollen Mill and later transformed into Victoria Carpets, has now become a vibrant hub for artisan manufacturing and food. The on-site food precinct features a variety of culinary delights such as a Viennese coffee house, winemakers, sourdough baker, craft brewery, smallgoods maker, cheese and dairy producer, chocolatier and ice cream maker.
Fabulously huge undercover area showcasing antiques and curios, artwork works and craft works, crockery and cutlery and almost anything else you couldn’t think of. Air conditioned but not icy cold. Well maintained Public toilets. Even a section at the front with a stack of arcade games for the kids (& big kids) for when they enviably get bored. Like a big supermarket, you just pay at the end when you exit, not with individual stall owners. Outside are eateries, sweeteries (?! Chocolates and ice cream), coffee, local artists, and a beautiful living green shady arch. Well worth a stop to fill your day.

The Good Loaf Sourdough Bakery & Cafe is a delightful combination of an award-winning bakery and a cozy cafe. Visitors can also enjoy outdoor seating and friendly staff at this cylindrical-shaped bakery. It's the perfect place to grab a healthy lunch or take home some delicious bread that freezes well.
I had a good memory here, nice coffee and bakery. And big breakfast never goes wrong, I love the fried beans and onion in it.

Cute place for a coffee and morning tea- as we did before driving back to Melbourne! Plenty of outdoor spaces to enjoy the sunshine and air. Coffee order took a lot longer to come out than expected and both coffees didn't come out at the same time. And scones also came out later (not sure if my partner who ordered may have been told there's a wait for a Monday morning). Still a good place to stop by!
Eating C — Google review
No doubt a great place for a Great Loaf of Sourdough! Love the salad of the day too! However the coffee need a little fix...my flat white was rather flat 😅 plus there was no pepper & salt on table.
Ping H — Google review
Great brunch location with good offerings on the menu. We ordered the poached eggs on toast (of the 3 orders, 2 were overdone ... so kids naturally complained to us that it was not runny enough). I ordered the avocado smash - which was delicious with the goats feta. The thickness of the toasted sourdough for all our meals could be better - a bit odd having sandwich slice thickness for a Cafe instead of toast thickness at the very least. Didn't really get to appreciate the sourdough when the slice is so thin ... the main reason we wanted to try the place. As a result did not buy a loaf as pre cut was sandwich thickness, with no other thickness available, and as we were travelling buying the uncut loaf did not suit. Small indoor dining area with seating for about 8ppl at 3 diff tables, but there is a large outdoor dining space under a marquee ... which I'm sure would be nice on a warm day. Nice family atmosphere, just shame about the sourdough thickness ... could really benefit from offering thicker slices with breakfast meals.
Joanna G — Google review
Fresh breads. There are options for gluten- free cakes and bread. My son likes the gluten-free chocolate cake. We ordered their big breakfast - my husband didn’t like the taste of the beans but overall it was good. Coffee isn’t their strength - it wasn’t good. So, if you want a good dose of caffeine, this isn’t your place. Options for outdoor dinning and takeaway. Pet friendly. It’s easy to find parking. Quick service. COVID restrictions protocol been upheld. Recommended for fresh breads and gluten-free cakes.

We stopped by Bendigo en route to Melb and were looking for a cafe that we could sit in for coffee as well as a toilet break. It was just after 3pm and we didn’t have much luck looking for a cafe that was still open (also most shops that are usually open were closed due to covid) but thankfully the owner of The Green Olive recommended this bakery so we ended up here. Nice cosy bakery, I love how it’s cylindrical in shape; smelt great as you entered, friendly staff, and has nice outdoor seating too. My friend ordered a long black which he quite liked. This place seems to have an extensive lunch menu too but sadly I was still full from brunch this morning and couldn’t fit anymore food in my tummy. Will have to return to sample some food and bread in the future!

Wow! We finally made it to the good loaf bakery, knowing that it was sadly closing. What an absolute shame! We really hope these guys find another venue to reopen because that bread is some of the best we’ve eaten and the beef pie was amazing…and we own our own bakery in Melbourne and make and sell our own signature sourdough too… but couldn’t not leave a review for these guys. Can’t wait to see them reopen somewhere because this is what our industry really needs🤞🤞

Favourite Flavours is a popular spot in Bendigo, Victoria, known for its handmade gelato available all year round. The extensive range of flavors includes local produce and can be found in some of the city's best restaurants and cafes as part of their dessert offerings. Visitors praise the friendly staff and old-fashioned country hospitality, with a good selection of homemade hot food alongside an abundance of deliciously flavored ice cream.
Wow! The in-store made ice cream here is a flavor explosion! They also offer a great selection of smoothies, sandwiches, and other goodies. I was blown away by the aromatic Musk and the sweet, tangy White Chocolate Raspberry on my first visit. The texture of the ice cream was so smooth and creamy. My second trip was equally impressive with the decadent Gaytime, the crunchy Biscoff, and the rich Rocky Road. The staff were patient and kind, letting us sample multiple flavors until we found our perfect match. The freshness and quality of the ingredients were evident in every bite.

Old fashioned country hospitality in a big city. Friendly staff, a good selection of home-made hot food and of course an abundance of amazing flavoured ice-cream. I had the home-made sausage roll for lunch (minus the salad and chips as they are quite large and filling). When offered home-made relish on the side at no extra charge how could I refuse. Afterwards I came back for a double-serving of ice-cream. As the weather was lovely, I enjoyed eating everything by the lake across the road, however, dining in is also an option.

Very beautiful and tasty place. I visited this place in the afternoon and was pretty busy. Nice customer service by the lady who was serving us. Ice-cream 🍦 was nice, we had chocolate and biscoff gelato and was really tasty. Pretty decent quantity. Do have a sit outside the shop you will enjoy the little view of the lake in front of it.

Their ice cream is fantastic I think my favourite flavour would have to be either cherry or bubblegum. We often stop by for an ice cream when walking the dog. There is plenty of seating outside and they have a variety of other food options if you are still hungry.

Nestled by the peaceful Lake Weerona, Favourite Flavours is a true hidden gem in Bendigo. We visited the café with our parents who were visiting us from Nepal, and we were all instantly impressed—not just by the delicious food, but by the warm and welcoming atmosphere. The staff were incredibly friendly and made our parents feel right at home, which meant a lot to us. Their milkshakes are absolutely amazing—thick, creamy, and bursting with flavour. The house-made ice cream is a standout too, with each scoop tasting fresh and full of personality. It’s a dessert lover’s paradise. The café also offers fantastic breakfast and lunch options, with generous portions and top-quality ingredients. Whether you're after a comforting brunch or a quick lunch after a walk by the lake, there's something for everyone. One of the unexpected highlights was their in-house gherkin pickle—crunchy, tangy, and perfectly seasoned. It added the perfect zing to our meals and is honestly addictive on its own. With great food, warm hospitality, and a lovely lakeside setting, Favourite Flavours truly lives up to its name. Highly recommended for locals and visitors alike!

Great Experience at Out of Order Café! I had the pleasure of visiting Out of Order, and it was such a great experience! The staff are absolutely lovely and clearly very passionate about their craft. Their attention to detail really stands out, from the way they prepare your coffee to the overall service. It creates a warm and welcoming atmosphere that makes you want to stay longer. I ordered the Breakky Bagel, and it was incredibly delicious and filling. If you’re a bagel lover, this is a must-try! I paired it with a hot cappuccino, which was perfectly brewed. The café also has ample seating, making it a comfortable spot to relax or get some work done. One convenient feature is that you can preorder via their website, making it even easier if you’re in a hurry. The only small drawback was that the door handle was a bit oily, but it’s a minor issue compared to all the positives this place offers. Overall, Out of Order is a wonderful café with great food, excellent coffee, and passionate staff. I’ll definitely be back!

My review is based on my order - I had the strawberry match and chicken pesto bagel. The strawberry matcha was underwhelming as the matcha was quite weak and could not balance the sweetness of the strawberry jam/puree. The chicken pesto bagel was just okay and a tad of the dry side - both bagel and chicken. I was really excited to try out due to the excellent reviews, so I will give it another go when I'm next in Bendigo to try other items in their menu. Looking forward to updating my review then.

Cappuccino was excellent but the much exalted bagel, under "Loaded" tag - The Roast with juicy lamb was anything but. Dry, chewy & rather flavourless. Perhaps other choices are better. Welcoming & awesome service 👌🏽. Had lunch Tues 23/9 recently. Easy walk from train station. Few mins walk to busy intersection - iconic Alexandra Fountain, Pall Mall & Rosalind Park.

Had just a basic ham and cheese Bagel seeded tasted great, coffee was nice also and the 2 ladies were nice and friendly, service was quick, definitely worth dropping into. I should have got salt and pepper on mine would have brought the flavour out more but couldn’t fault the food or the coffee.

Awesome bagel! Loaded and flavourful, made fresh. Coffee was good too. Busy in the morning.
Regina S — Google review
Quality of ingredients is obvious. Nice chick bacon and a double serving of American cheese on the breaky bagel. Good show, Out of Order. And thanks so much for having a Gluten Free bagel. It was decent too. Well done.
Shannon R — Google review
Love this little place and it’s pumping. The coffee is to die for and the bagels are delicious. There’s a reason they’re going strong and pumping out the coffee on a Sunday morning. Go in snd get the best coffee of your life. Admire the set up too, the owners have invested a lot to give them the best possible work station to produce consistent, delicious coffee. Oh and the turtle is pretty cute too.

If you're on the hunt for a delightful treat that combines nostalgia with a contemporary flair, look no further than Bendigo Brittle. This artisanal snack is crafted in Bendigo using top-notch ingredients, including locally sourced Australian nuts. The original peanut brittle has garnered quite the following and makes for an excellent gift or personal indulgence. Its compact size means it's perfect for travel, allowing you to enjoy this scrumptious delight wherever you go.
I just love these guys -the best brittle ever!! I use this as gifts a lot, the peanut is always a hit, while personally I struggle to choose a favourite between the almond and macadamia. Speedy service, great price and unbeatable brittle -- all while supporting a small business in a rural area - ticks all of my boxes. I only gave a 4 for atmosphere only because I've never had to be in touch directly as the website is actually user friendly and the service spot on - so may be a 7 out of 5 atmosphere, but I've not had cause to experience it .... maybe if I visit Bendigo! Thank you!!

This brittle is the best brittle I’ve had in years. I got to try a piece at Agfest today. And it instantly made me purchase. It was the perfect combination of crunch without feeling like it would break your teeth and didn’t stick to my teeth all over and get stuck everywhere. I never purchase brittle anymore due to it always being too hard and feeling like it would break your teeth. The peanut was creamy and not too sweet and just perfect. I also snapped up the pistachio one and my god it’s incredible I’d never even thought of brittle being made with nuts other than peanuts and it’s a brilliant idea! not as creamy but light and delightful. I definitely hope to repurchase!

Greta was amazing to deal with, she went above and beyond to ensure we had our Bendigo Brittle for our event! We purchased 10 bags of Peanut Brittle for dessert for our VIP tables, and it was a hit! So delicious 😋 we will be sticking with Bendigo Brittle from now on!! Thank you Greta

$150/kg pistachio brittle came with pistachio shells! It ruined my banana split.

Excellent customer service. Discovered Christmas brittle the day before I was due to fly back to Sydney from Bendigo and it was delicious. Sent a message to Greta who said if I used click and collect she would let her staff know I needed it packed within an hour or so to pick up. Greta wasn’t even in Bendigo but my order was ready to collect when I arrived. Thank you.

I live in Brisbane and I was really craving some peanut brittle. I had a Google search and came across Bendigo Brittle, and I decided to order some peanut brittle, macadamia brittle, and pistachio brittle… my word, this stuff is addictive! I have polished off each bag and have just made an order for 1kg of peanut brittle and 1kg of macadamia brittle! This stuff is sensational! My family didn’t get the opportunity to even taste the macadamia brittle as I found it too good to share! If you are considering trying any products from Bendigo Brittle, please don’t hesitate. So glad I came across this marvelous business.

We bought a bag of pistachio brittle at the Canberra handmade market and it was so good! Wish we had gotten more
