Cafe
Nestled in Daikanyama, Ivy Place is a designer cafe offering a delightful array of dishes such as buttermilk pancakes, pizza, and brunch cocktails. The serene ambiance sets it apart from the bustling city with its spacious indoors adorned with antique furniture and a warm decor, as well as an expansive outdoor terrace surrounded by Japanese zelkova trees. The menu features seasonal breakfast options including homemade granola, fruit bowls, and bamboo charcoal omelettes.
Cozy restaurant in Daikanyama! Came here for lunch with a group of 4 and a dog without reservation and we queued for 30 minutes for an outdoor seat. Food was amazing, highly recommend the fried calamari and their well known pancakes. Service was top notch and drinks were fantastic as well. Would highly recommend!
Alvin W — Google review
This place has great food and a fantastic atmosphere. The pork loin and swordfish were delicious. The soup of the day was a tomato cream with a nice zest. I also ordered a breakfast power shake to get my energy up since I hadn’t had breakfast yet. It’s a great place for a date. We didn’t have a reservation, took us less than 10 minutes for a table but was sat in the outdoor area with the see-through tent tarp.

The food is the absolute bomb! 5000yen for the deluxe lunch let, Salad, Pasta, Main and Desert with a coffee too! Each dish was excellent with, salad had loads of goodie, the pasta was great and the fish was amazingly done! By desert time I was stuffed! Be warned don’t fill up on the complementary bread and olive oil served at the beginning or You’ll be too full!
Eddie B — Google review
Great value for the set meal! Came in absolutely starving and left satisfied by an assortment of wonderful appetisers, mains and desserts. There was a ~20 minute wait to be seated but the food itself came out fairly quickly. Nice indoor and outdoor seating available and so many cute dogs around! Overall a good experience.

This is a great restaurant, especially if you’re looking for contemporary American cuisine. It’s a bit on the expensive side for Tokyo; however, highly recommended for vegetarians/vegans. They’ll do their best to accommodate dietary restrictions and food allergies. Service was top-notch.
Sonam A — Google review
I’ve been living in Japan for 8 years, and this is truly one of the best services I’ve experienced! Especially the staff member with yellow hair, he’s fantastic. Highly recommend trying their steak, perfectly smoky and cooked just right!
Roro R — Google review
This was in my list for quite some time. Place gets 5 star but only for ambience and location. Weekly lunch with tea/coffee and small bread is still better to go for than long unnecessary hype on weekend. The big plates are called big but as you see in pictures rather extremely moderate! Chicken and fish dishes for 2300-2500yen is rather too high for taste, quality and specially portion size! Ideally given everything they should have been priced around 1500-1600 yen hence you pay for sitting ambience than food quality! Very average if you are food lover.
Chandrika — Google review
Food was good especially as they tried to help my son with gluten free options. Thank you 🙏 the burger was good. I have chicken breast coated with bread crumbs which came with mashed potato and some green rocket and a few raw tomatoes. Only criticism is I would prefer steamed vegetables or grilled vegetables like carrots peppers etc. or grilled tomatoes rather then raw because raw tomatoes does not go with hot foods. This is the only criticism for the restaurant manager to improve for the future 👍

Cafe
Breakfast restaurant
Restaurant
Tsumugi is a chic and modern cafe located in the information center for Tsukiji Hongwanji Temple. The cafe offers elaborate breakfasts, simple meals, and desserts with floor-to-ceiling views of the ancient temple. The 18-set special breakfast served between 8am and 11am includes tiny dishes featuring local specialties like Japanese sour plums, matcha jelly, peppery fried eggplant, and all-you-can-eat okayu porridge.
I saw this place while leaving Tsukiji Temple. Honestly, I had planned to visit another spot, but the aesthetic view from behind caught my eye, so we decided to give it a try. the calming music, soft lighting, and peaceful atmosphere felt like a good sign. Plus, it had great reviews. We ordered the afternoon tea set along with strawberry tea and beauty tea. Everything was delightful—it was truly a lovely experience.
Polat O — Google review
Got table 18 for the 18 breakfast! We made a tourist mistake a rocked up at 10:30am with no reservation and guess what, it was sold out 🥲 But luckily they allow (at least when we were there) to make a reservation for the next day! It was amazing to see it within the temple grounds. Returned the next day and heaps of people were just waiting but with a reservation we just strolled in, sat and ordered our 18 set meal. Definitely an experience to have a range of Japanese breakfast items to taste in a cafe style but to me its a once and done as while well cooked and presented, wasn’t a fan of everyone of the 18 meals. More of a photo op experience with a focus on food variety.
Terrence C — Google review
Located on the temple grounds with the information center lies this restaurant that does an amazing 18 item breakfast that has daily queues. While each individual item is small, it's overall a filling breakfast once you get through it all. Every dish has its own flavour, though we felt some items were a bit too salty. Each set was 2000 yen which seemed fair for what we got and where it was.
Bent Z — Google review
Quaint small cafe with proper Japanese breakfast. Only 2 choices when we were there. Congee (savoury porridge) with 16 types of topping, or a piece of salmon with mixed grain rice (it looks like Korean mixed rice - purple coloured). We had the salmon and it was sublime. Be careful of the cut of the salmon as it may have a few bones.
Pandji C — Google review
If you’re looking for a place where the food is consistently delicious and on the healthier side, this spot has got you covered. They focus on offering fresh, nutritious options, with a special emphasis on a variety of teas. Their breakfast menu is especially notable—if you’re a fan of porridge, be sure to try the one that comes with 18 different side dishes. However, it’s a limited-time offering, so make sure to arrive early if you don’t want to miss out. This time, I had the Houjicha paired with a red snapper dashi soup chazuke, complete with shisai nori and shrimp. The delicate flavors of the soup were perfectly balanced with the savory nori and plump shrimp, making each bite comforting yet satisfying. The Houjicha was smooth, earthy, and complemented the dish wonderfully. Overall, this spot continues to impress with its delicious, healthy meals and carefully selected teas. Highly recommended!
Eddy T — Google review
We got a brunch menu. Food was great and reasonably priced for what they offer. Cute place with aesthetic, relaxing atmosphere. One thing to note is make a reservation beforehand or go early. Otherwise you might have to wait for a long time because even with a bunch of empty tables, they take guests with reservations first.
Subin — Google review
We came here during lunch time and had to wait for around 20 mins. They used a self-service machine to get the queue numbers. The foods were great and were beautifully plated. The ambience was nice and peaceful. This place was very close to the Tsukiji Market.
Silvia A — Google review
We came here on a Thursday morning and there was no line, we were able to get a table quickly without a reservation. The 18 course breakfast was good, it was nice sampling a variety of dishes, although I was not a fan of some of them. The standout dishes were: - yuba with salmon roe - sweet kombu tsukudani - matcha jelly - fried eggplant with seasonal ground soy meat - spicy cod roe & seaweed - roasted duck with sansho pepper - deep fried fish cake Overall, Tsumugi was a great option for breakfast and we had a good time trying the variety of dishes. I would recommend them if you're interested in trying the 18 course breakfast. follow @food.vince on instagram and tiktok for more travel eats!

Breakfast restaurant
Cafe
Nestled in the Hiroo area of Tokyo, Breakfast & Brunch Jade5 is a charming American-style cafe and diner that offers a cozy and relaxed atmosphere for enjoying breakfast. The shabby-chic decor adds to its appeal, making it a popular spot among locals. Open from 7:30 am every morning (except Mondays), this compact cafe serves up an array of breakfast and brunch plates, including fresh pancakes, eggs, bacon, omelets, fluffy Japanese pancakes, and more.
Best breakfast I had in Tokyo!! After having Japanese and Hotel breakfast’s for the first couple of days, it was good to have a “Western Style Breakfast” Small wait once we arrived, but well worth the 15 minutes. Breakfast was delicious, service was awesome. Really enjoyed
DeTric H — Google review
I went for breakfast with a few friends and very quickly got a seat. The staff were very friendly and also spoke English very well. I ordered the eggs Benedict and it was cooked perfectly. The biscuit, ham, and hollandaise sauce perfectly complemented the meal. My friends ordered the lumberjack meal and they really enjoyed it as well. I plan to go back and try other menu items when I have the time. I will definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for a good breakfast or brunch.
Damen ( — Google review
This is my third trip to Tokyo, and each time, I have to have Jade5 at least once (probably more than once) before I leave. This brunch spot puts most brunch spots in the states to shame. It's a tiny space and there is usually a wait, but it's all worth it once you sit down. Their small list of food options are executed perfectly, especially their blueberry pancakes which have been voted the best pancakes in the world (by me). Quit having mediocre fluffy pancakes around Tokyo, and stop by Jade5 for the real deal. True western style flapjacks that will bring you to tears.
Ronie V — Google review
Being a short walk from where we were staying, it was a fantastic find. Others explain the menu better but it was nicely priced for really good breakfast food. Wide variety great flavors super cool vibe. Is popular. You may very well. Wait and in good weather you just hang out outside outside. Especially for an American, having a taste of home with such a good breakfast was a treat.
John M — Google review
They had Oasis records on the wall. The food was definitely delicious. Small area for customers. We went on a Friday morning around 9 and it wasn't too much of a wait.
Kristie M — Google review
My husband and I had this at the tail end of our trip and it was pretty good! A nice western style breakfast the pancakes were crisp fluffy. I just wish that the potatoes had a little bit more seasoning. Small weight because the shop is small but the workers and the waiter was really awesome and nice.
Evann S — Google review
Absolutely amazing manners and politeness. Very accommodating and comforting feeling inside. Staff were so nice, even with our broken Japanese, they understood English very well. Food was stunning and delicious. Super clean and tidy!
Nick A — Google review
Food is good, but not worth if you need to wait over 1hour. If it doesn’t need wait so long, I definitely will come back. If you want to have the breakfast set, please arrive before 10, they are change to lunch menu at 11

Izakaya restaurant
Yaesu Hatsufuji is a casual izakaya located at a rail station, popular among commuters for its beers, set lunches, and after-work bar snacks. Unlike many breakfast spots in Tokyo that offer Western-style meals, this eatery provides hearty and reasonably priced traditional Japanese breakfast sets. The restaurant has a nostalgic ambiance and offers various options through a vending machine. It's known for its delicious food, with the natto combo being a local favorite.
We stumbled upon this place as not may places are open for breakfast around the area. We did love the food as it is very simply made and authentic Japanese dishes. It can get busy im the morning but it’s quite convenient as you order from the machines as the food comes out from the kitchen pretty fast. The staff is quite nice and helpful too as the machines are in Japanese only. Great spot if you’re looking for fried fish for breakfast!
Grenten D — Google review
There weren't many eateries opened when we arrived at Tokyo Station before 8 am. We came across Hatsufuji, a casual rail station izakaya, serving authentic Japanese sets at very reasonable prices. There were other early local commuters also in there having breakfast before a day of work. Our meals were tasty and likened to a warm home-cooked meal. I really enjoyed the ginger flavoured sauce cooked with my meat. Meals needed to be ordered at a machine at the front, and the friendly staff were more than happy to lend a hand.
Amy — Google review
Located inside Tokyo station in the lower floor was this spot that was one of the few places opened early for breakfast. Everything was delicious (home cook simple style) and well priced. There are displays to showcase item but recommend taking a photo and translating. You order via a machine at the front before you hand a ticket and sit down at any available seat. Service was very quick and smooth. Very enjoyable experience and would come back again.
CY S — Google review
This izakaya draws a line out the door at lunchtime. You can enjoy a set meal of tempura and sashimi for only 1,000 yen. Of course, you can also drink alcohol.
Yamakaz — Google review
3.7 stars It's a breakfast that is perfect for business people or travellers that do not want chain restaurant food. It's actually an Izakaya, a Japanese pub. It tastes like healthy home cooking. You can get a large rice for free. You can also reduce the amount of rice. I think the flavor is on the heavier/saltier side but it was not enough to bother me. I was on the road for business and this was perfect. It's not even crazy special but it was what I wanted. They have tons of servers but the service is very straightforward, not at all friendly but you don't really come here for the service. A review said it was not smoke-free but I double checked and the staff insisted that it was a smoke free breakfast place. From 6:50 in the morning on a weekday, there was already a line. It's popular among business people, men and women alike. This set was 690yen or so, if I recall. You buy a ticket from the vending machine upon entering the shop. Healthier than bread. Free hot barley tea with the breakfast set. Crazy fast service. Perfect place for busy people!
B B — Google review
Quick, hearty & delicious. Tonjiru seems to be what every ojisan is getting.
Manh N — Google review
I had the pork set. Rice was really nice. I added on a salmon (not in pic) It was really good. Giving 5 stars for the salmon. The pork was a 3. A stall full of locals and was really busy even on a Sunday. Friendly staff as well. A place that is value for money. The portion is quite big for an Asian male.

Tsukiji Sushi Sei, a sushi restaurant with over 130 years of history, has a branch located in Tokyo Station where they serve a breakfast menu from 7:00 to 10:00. Upon entering the restaurant, customers place their orders and make payments before being seated. While popular spots like Sushi Dai are well-known, Tsukiji Sushi Sei is also highly favored for its exceptional sushi.
Luckily there was no queue, seated on the 2nd floor. Two sushi chefs prepared the fresh sushi and sashimi. Amazing quality. Reasonable price Next time will try the omakase !
Yong ( — Google review
Gawd we loved this place. We were looking for a restaurant in the fish markets that “just jumped out at us.” This was it. My wife loves Japanese food and I’m a recent convert but the dish that was served to us was a Masterclass in fresh seafood. Great food prepared in front of us. Happy atmosphere. Friendly service. Loved it.
Brett C — Google review
Quality for price was good. I prefer to order specific sushi I want "a la carte", instead of set plates because I never like everything on the set plates. This place does both well.
Andy S — Google review
"Fresh, Lively, and Full of Skill" Located on a lively corner of the Tsukiji market, this place has a vibrant atmosphere with young and skilled sushi chefs. They offer a reasonable range of options from about 300 to 1,000 yen. The chefs not only know every detail about the fish they serve but also share their knowledge in an engaging and friendly way. I especially enjoyed learning about ingredients like ikageso and kaihimo, which they prepared with care and explained in detail. You can’t go wrong by asking for the chef’s daily recommendations or the fish/sake of the day — they’re always spot on!
Don K — Google review
Went here towards the end of their lunchtime (they close at 230pm). Ordered their Omakase and a beer. Sat at counter and watch them prepare each piece before me. Everything was as fresh as you can imagine being in the fish market. The chef was friendly and engaging with the little English he knew, and smiled whenever you attempted Japanese. On the back of the menu card on the counter is the ala carte selection… highly recommend investigating some of the items on there (uni!).
Bobby S — Google review
Excellent omakase assortment for lunch at a very reasonable price. We ate at the bar upstairs. Recommend. They also had some of the best, coldest beer on a blazing Tokyo day! Wow! I still remember that beer! Ordinary draft, but perfect with the sushi.
Kate K — Google review
We came to this sushi restaurant because there is a chef we like. Different from former restaurant he worked, it was a lively. We enjoyed raw fish, otsumami and sushi.

We lined up on a whim, waited about 30 mins around 11am and both tried the omakase. We were blown away by the quality of the sushi. Highly recommend

Bistro
Path is a charming French cafe located in the Shibuya district of Tokyo. It offers a delightful experience, serving delectable pastries and coffee in the mornings, making it an ideal spot for breakfast or brunch. The cafe's in-house pastry chefs craft mouthwatering croissants, which are made in small batches and are highly sought after by visitors. In addition to its morning offerings, Path transforms into a romantic dinner venue at night, providing a luxurious ambiance for business meetings or intimate dates.
We got here 15min before opening and we’re 4th in line through their electronic waitlist they prepared outside. There was a line up that accumulated after us shortly. Once they called us we got in and sat at the bar. We were aware that it takes about 30min for them to prepare the Dutch pancake but with everyone ordering it as expected, the wait time for us was more like 45/50min. We did watch the cook diligently work on it as quick as she can but there were definitely patrons after us that waited longer. Once we got the pancake it was pretty good, like a sweet and savoury soufflé-like pancake with prosciutto nestled inside. It was pretty sizeable also and was really good with the provided maple syrup. I can’t say it was worth the wait but it was definitely good and worth the experience. Would recommend coming early for this one.
Evan V — Google review
(BREAKFAST/BRUNCH menu): in Yoyogi Uehara is hugely popular for its weekend breakfast, especially the Dutch pancake. The café itself is cozy and the pancake was truly delicious, but be prepared: we joined the online queue at 8:30am and didn’t get seated until after noon. They do mention the pancake takes 30 minutes, but by 10am, new guests weren’t even allowed to line up. It’s a lovely and comforting meal, but with the long wait, high price, and pastries/other menu items selling out early, it might be best enjoyed once the hype dies down…or if you already have other plans in the area while the phone lets you informed about the queue.

🛎️ [Must-Try] Dutch Pancake with Parma Prosciutto & Burrata Cheese Visited many times, and this skillet pancake is always worth the 30-minute bake. Crisp on the outside and soft inside, almost like a puff pastry. The savory Parma prosciutto and creamy burrata in the center, finished with a drizzle of maple syrup, create the most perfect balance of flavors.
Clara J — Google review
Delightful little brunch spot that serves a delicious Dutch pancake with Parma and burrata; the syrup mixed with ham, melted cheese, and eggy texture of the bread is truly outstanding. And while that was impressive, I found myself LOVING the creamy salsiccia stew and radiccio, quinoa, grape salad. Both were so flavorful. In addition to the food, the ambience was so comfortably stylish—soft yellow lighting; a record player spinning out an eclectic mix of music; and modern rustic farmhouse decor.

Arrived at 12:30pm Managed to get in within 15 mins and food served at 12:50pm I came without reservation coz I saw long queue of posts on XHS if u come here 7-9am peak hours . So I decided to come by just by luck , but luckily they took us in as last table . ( that day was heavy rain) Last order is 1 pm . Order : Cream salsiccia with scone Financier Homemade ham & Camembert sandwich Fuglen black coffee The food really taste good But if you ask me to bear with the crazy queue I think I will give up Service is ok. Communication abit hard . I stood at cashier for 3 mins and the staffs didn’t even bother me 🥴 until I need to speak “ halo ???” Then only they notice my existence.

The Dutch pancake is perfect! Don't miss it. The salad is also very special. Their coffee is wonderful and the service is really good. Great experience

The Dutch pancake is amazing! The food here overall is 👍🏻 good. The only thing I think can be improved is the coffee? From little nap and fuglen, they’re a bit too light (I tried fuglen in the shop nearby). Highly recommended! But please do get up early and get a queue tag to dine in early!
Mengnibal C — Google review
It’s really good. And the ambiance is cool and chic. I didn’t wait in line luckily, as I went right around 1pm (lunch goes until 2pm). Some of the baked goods they were sold out of at that time, but they were still serving Dutch pancakes, which is what I wanted. It was delicious, and I’m writing this review with a watering mouth. The prosciutto and burrata cheese just complimented each other so well, then the sweetness of the maple syrup just took it over the top. I had a pour over coffee also, with beans from a local coffee shop, that completed the meal. For me, it’s something I’ll come back for again and again.

Takeout Restaurant
Restaurant
Bricolage Bread & Co. is a relaxed cafe and bakery located near Roppongi Hills in Tokyo, offering artisanal French bread, international snacks, and coffee. The establishment consists of a take-out bread and pastry section, a coffee counter run by Fuglen, and a cozy cafe with outdoor seating under shady sakura trees. The collaboration between a chef, baker, and coffee roaster ensures high-quality ingredients sourced directly from farmers in various regions of Japan.
An old time favorite in Roppongi. This bakery café is great for a quick carb pick-me-up or a leisurely lunch. Bricolage is quite popular so the bakery items are variable depending on demand - it's recommended to go before lunch for the best selection. This latest visit was for lunch – everything is extremely fresh and I would highly recommend the salad, fried chicken and shredded carrots. I’ve also had the Wagyu cheeseburger in the past and it was scrumptious. For my fellow travelers – if you are planning to dine-in, go to the counter to the left of the column to order food and drinks. they will hand you an electronic beeper and then you go into the next room to pick up your food when ready. You also wait for your coffee drinks in front of the coffee bar. The register to the right of the column is for to-go bakery items.

We queued for about 50 minutes, so naturally, I was expecting the food to be mind-blowingly good—something truly worth the wait. Unfortunately, it didn’t quite live up to the hype. The overall experience felt a bit average, like something you could easily get at other Western-style cafés. Their signature dishes were decent, but nothing particularly amazing or memorable. The chicken karaage, however, was a standout—crispy, juicy, and flavorful—definitely something the Japanese do exceptionally well. The cacao drink was a bit too sour for my taste, and the dark rum coffee had only a very mild coffee flavor, which was underwhelming. The pudding is also average, and the brown sugar tastes a bit bitter... In summary, it’s a nice café, but only if there’s little to no queue. Otherwise, it feels like a bit of a letdown and not really worth such a long wait.

This place is a bit confusing. It's hard to order pastries and then sit down and eat them. The ordering counter for meals (burgers, sandwiches) is at a different place than the ordering counter for pastries, but we wanted to eat pastries in the restaurant. It feels like decisions need to be made very quickly and there's little explanation of how that should happen properly. It's almost just 2 shops in the same building, where the pastry counter has no menu and you just have to take pictures of what's available if you need time to think. I think we waited about a half hour to order (which was reasonable). The pastries were pretty good/okay. I don't think there's enough butter in all of Japan to actually rival French pastries, so that should not be your bar if you're going here. We tried several different pastries and the best were the financiers and the sausage dog imo. That said, the cafe latte and the brown sugar dessert option were freaking phenomenal. I would definitely go back for those, but not really anything else. The burger was juicy, but mostly drowned in ketchup and too sweet.

May 2025: Visiting from the United States and stayed at the Grand Hyatt nearby. Workers are very friendly. Found this bakery that had amazing coffee and baked goods nearby. Coffee was fabulous with wonderful tasting notes 🎶. I normally add oat milk instead of cream. The restaurant had oat milk as an upgradeable option.👍 My favorite baked goods were the bread 🍞 and the raisin roll. Also tried the avocado 🥑 toast. Stayed at the hotel for six nights and this place was my go-to for coffee and breakfast. Probably stopped by for coffee, pastries and/or bread six different times. On the last day of my vacation, I tried a "pain perdu" which was so delicious. Reminds me of a french toast... And I looked up the name and it's literally french toast 😀. Aside from the delicious bread, this is my new favorite! Will definitely come back again when I am in Tokyo again!

One of the most popular bakery shop in the area, lots of people were queuing pf a seat. For take out, no need to wait. I waited for 20mins for a seat, then ordered. This is my third time here, every menu was delicious, especially the bakery. Coffee is ok. Salad and bread are the best
Chan T — Google review
Came on a Saturday morning around 11:00 am. There was already a line and the staff said it would be around a 20 minute wait for a party of 2. It ended up taking closer to 30. You order from the register and there’s separate ones for the bakery side and food. We ordered the jerk chicken bagel and the eggs Benedict toast. The toast was delicious, and the bagel was also solid. A little pricey but it’s a nice ambiance and good location if you’re around Roppongi hills. Also got a sourdough to go, which was delicious.

The service attitude is bad: the ordering flow was so strange, you have to walk against the flow to check the pastry section after taking the number in another entry. After waiting a while to get a table, I have to walk back to make the order AND the clerk asked me serval times if I have a seat to dine in. I showed her my number ticket and told her I already have one table, then she seemed not believing me and asked me to point out where exactly my seat was. I was traveling solo, how can I put my purse in the outside table and walk back inside to make the order?! Of course I have to carry my purse around, and that does not mean that I don’t have a seat, especially I already told her many times that I already have one seat! Back to the croissant: just average. Crispy but not airy. The dark rum latte is good.

TRUNK HOTEL is a trendy and modern hotel located in Tokyo, right by Harajuku's Cat Street and a short walk from Shibuya Crossing. The hotel offers upcycled furniture in its contemporary quarters, along with a restaurant and a stylish bar. It features its own convenience store, an expansive outdoor deck, and a lobby that doubles as a co-working space during the day and transforms into a chic cocktail bar at night.
We stayed here for the first night of our Japan trip and we loved it! The staff took note of my birthday from my passport and remembered us as we were heading out. They wished me a happy birthday and even gave me a small gift. Some reviews criticize the busy lobby, and if you’re looking for a hotel with a quiet lobby and no energy, this might not be the hotel for you. We found it vibrant and full of life, with smiling faces all around. Definitely one of the more memorable hotels of our visit and we will definitely stay again next visit!

This boutique hotel is well located, near all the shops in Cat Street and Omotesando. The friendly staff, amazing food, bar, smell and attention to details in the room, made our stay very special! I would come back again soon!

Previous guest of Claska and I have a big love for Ace Hotels. I thought this could be a similar vibe. Tbh, we paid a good amount of change for a weeks stay. The room had damp issues, I found myself paying $50 for a double serve of muesli in the morning, which was rough. The lobby was chaotic, not in a good way. My biggest issue was on departure, where we had already paid 100% of the cost for the room at the time of booking, only to be told we needed to pay the entire amount again (multiple thousands), as the initial charge was just a 'hold of funds'. This felt absurd to us, and I've not come across holds being used for entire cost of stay. It was also not indicated on our receipt of payment and felt super scammy. We were then treated in a hostile manner, as though we were trying to get out of payment. This was not an enjoyable holiday experience and there's no way I'd be staying again.

I stayed two nights at this hotel (from Friday to Sunday), for the second time. The place remains as elegant as ever — the design is refined, contemporary, and full of character. My room was cosy, impeccably clean, and the bed exceptionally comfortable, hard to leave in the morning! The staff were highly professional, friendly, and attentive. I had dinner at Trunk Kitchen, and the meal was absolutely delicious. However, I was disappointed by the breakfasts. They are served at the table, as plated dishes that are far too generous. The salmon plate, for example, also included bacon, sausages, lard, and vegetables, too much, and an odd combination. On the other hand, the fruit, yogurt and granola plate was excellent, light, balanced, and very tasty. One downside during my stay: the hotel was hosting several weddings, which made the atmosphere quite noisy. The bar was almost inaccessible, and the usual calm, intimate vibe of the place was missing. Despite this, Trunk Hotel remains a beautiful address in Tokyo, stylish, comfortable, and supported by an outstanding team.

As Americans traveling in Japan, we were so grateful to find this spot! It was exactly what we needed — an easy, delicious breakfast and a relaxed space where our kid could be comfortable. The location is beautiful and absolutely worth the walk. The service was top-notch, and when our child wasn’t feeling well, the staff went above and beyond to help and make us comfortable. Such a kind and welcoming place — a real reprieve while we were in the area!
Abbey P — Google review
When booking my stay at Trunk for 6 nights in June 2025 I really didn’t think it would end up with writing a 1 star review for my experience but I’m sharing my feedback so that anyone considering booking this hotel is aware. My main issue with this property is value for money. I paid 64,000 yen per night (680AUD) which is the most money I’ve ever spent on a hotel but from looking at the photos and the way it is marketed online, and it being my first time solo travelling, I decided it was worth it to spend a bit more money. The rooms are extremely dated, they would have been great 5-8 years ago but it is clear they are not maintained. Old, stained carpets, walls that need repainted, rusted taps and a terrible musty smell in the room and main corridor. I think it’s outrageous that a company charging this much money for a hotel room does not care enough to carry out upgrades to their room and present them in a way that matches their online presence. This could be classed as false advertising. Another thing to look into is that you are advertised as a 4-star hotel on google & 5-star on other booking platforms, this kind of inconsistency is misleading for guests. To their credit, the vast majority of the staff were so lovely, including the manager, who I voiced this feedback to. Unfortunately, I had a bad experience with a bartender when I went to cash in my free drink voucher. This experience left me feeling extremely uncomfortable and I did not feel like I could relax in the lobby area for the remainder of my stay. As I mentioned this was my first time solo travelling as a female and in general Japan has felt so safe to me during my trip but the fact I didn’t feel comfortable in my hotel was not ok. If you are considering this hotel for your Tokyo trip, I really do think you can get much better value for money elsewhere.

We absolutely loved staying the Trunk hotel. The location is definitely fantastic, especially if you intend to walk around or train most of the time you're here. We loved the staff and the vibes of the place, while the lobby could get crowded with people working or at the bar, it never felt too busy and the staff always took care of the guests. The location really is the highlight as there are tons of great shops and restaurants within a 10 min walk. Next time we're in Tokyo, will 100% be staying here again.

Ginza Choshoku Lab is an upscale restaurant located in the 4-star Hotel Musse Ginza Meitetsu, offering a luxurious breakfast experience that combines Japanese and Western dishes. The buffet-style service allows guests to enjoy a hearty meal before embarking on a day of sightseeing in Tokyo. Reservations are recommended as the restaurant tends to fill up quickly, especially during peak hours.
An excellent way to taste a wide range of tasty breakfast options. Incredibly cute aesthetic and very attentive and friendly staff. Food was all around decent, nothing disappointed, all around a highly pleasant meal and great way to start the day. 50 minutes was just enough time for us to enjoy the recommended three lap approach, 90 minute option would be needed if you wanted time to relax/digest between meals. Service was excellent. Highly recommend. Definitely reserve a slot as this is a popular place.

Unique Japanese Breakfast Experience We were craving a breakfast buffet and found this spot near Ginza. At 2500 yen for 50 minutes, the price was reasonable. The buffet focused entirely on Japanese breakfast, which was a unique experience. I won’t lie—the food was quite average, with nothing fancy or particularly outstanding in terms of taste or variety. However, the 3x3 portion setup made it feel like a charming ritual, giving a traditional Japanese vibe to the meal. It’s worth trying once for the experience, but one visit was enough for me.

Great value for money, fun casual Japanese style breakfast buffet with plenty of variety. Walked in as a group of 4 on a Momday morning at around 8.45a. No queue. They give you 50 minutes and you can eat as much as you want. Food is all decent but maybe not superlative. It’s kind of a fun experience though. FYI Choices are heavily savory for breakfast (which is probably the norm). This is my second visit over the years, would probably go again!

One of the best places to get a value-forward Japanese Breakfast experience aside from the Soft Sounds from Another Planet album. Provides a variety of small, seasonal dishes and light hot-pot fare- fresh and simple dishes with curious flavor combinations. Recommend making full use of their made-to-order options at the bar side, as well. Big fan of their soups and porridges :) Come on time, and be ready to head out- especially if you want to try a bit of everything. The staff is strict about eating within your reserved period.

The food was ok, but the selection was good and we enjoyed them for the 50 mins. If you made multiple trips, its worth the price. One grip I had was that we made a reservation but the only spot they have for breakfast was 7am. We tried but were late and didn't arrived until 9am. I really wish they have more time slots available for breakfast, cause they charge you penalty fi you were not on time.

Known for its simple yet delightful offerings such as mushroom and goat cheese omelettes, granola-topped organic yogurt, artisan breads with fresh preserves, and flaky croissants served with steaming hot coffee.

A few days ago, we ordered takeout bread and it was delicious, so today we went for brunch, but we shouldn't have gone. The woman with pigtails seemed to be in the worst mood of the day, her expression grumpy the whole time. As soon as she realized we were foreigners, she didn't answer our questions and just walked in. Even though there were empty seats, she directed us to a table with strangers. When we ordered, she spoke rudely, using informal speech instead of formal speech. The morning menu offered juice and coffee, so when I asked if I could exchange the juice for coffee, she responded, "DeKki Nai!!" I was shocked. Was I a child? She was so rude. She even spoke rudely to me, knowing I understood Japanese. Furthermore, when we ordered two breakfast sets (including drinks) and added eggs and coffee, no one gave us a fork or knife. The Japanese couple sitting next to us even asked the waiter to help the foreigner. My entire trip to Japan was wonderful, and everyone was so friendly, but this was the first time I experienced such rudeness.

The nearest station is Daimon metro station. 15 mins to JR hamamatsu cho station. 1,180JPY for their popular bread set menu. There were 4 groups waiting ahead when I arrived at around 8:30AM on Saturday. It took only 10 mins to get in. When there is a line, make sure to write your name on the waiting list. You can take as many as pastes from the bar next to the water station. The service is OK. It was very pity that there was lady who was in charge of taking away dishes blocked customers way and took away dishes wuthout permission and no greeting to incoming customers.
Sky N — Google review
It was a bad experience. I moved table, with the help a lady staff because the customers next to my table were noisy. When the male staff came with my cream puff and cappuccino, he was utterly rude. He turned a placard around and chided me. I quote his exact words, "You cannot see this? This is reserved. You cannot sit here. " I would not put it down to perhaps his poor English. His tone and expression just showed that he thought I turned the Reservation placard over. When the lady staff said I could sit there, the reservation sign could not be seen. Anyway, the male staff was in no mood to hear me out. He had made up his mind. Anyway, this place cannot even make cappuccino properly. The dough of cream puff was ok. But cream was too heavy and too sweet, obscuring the subtle vanilla. Attached a photo of the cappuccino. Too foamy. The base coffee is devoid of character in terms of body, aroma or finish.

I’ve been travelling in Japan for almost five weeks, and this has to be the worst restaurant experience. We were there at about 1.15 pm for lunch on Friday 17 October. As we wanted outdoor seating, we were directed to the front counter to place our order. We were served by a chubby male staff who couldn’t have been more unfriendly. We asked to see a menu, and he gave us one but indicated that we couldn’t take it away, which was fine. So, we stood to one side to peruse the menu while conscious of being in the way of the queue. When we were ready to place our order, the bespectacled female staff wanted to take our order but the same unfriendly chubby male staff told her not to serve us and indicated that we had to go to the back of the line. We certainly had no intention to jump the queue, and we had been there for a while (before those in the queue). I would have walked out if not for the fact that it was getting late and there weren’t many other options around. In any case, lunch was extremely average - certainly not worth the wait, nor having to put up with the terrible service. I’ve since learned of other reviews commenting on the poor services received by customers, and I wonder why the restaurant management is allowing that to continue. They responded to reviews of poor services in the past, saying they would address the issue. Obviously, not.

I am glad to find a place like this where you can have your western food in Tokyo if you want. They even have Dutch Gouda cheese 😍 I’ll definitely come back soon! The atmosphere, staff and food was very good. I had the salmon salad and a big matcha latte. Also there was no waiting line as I came there around 14:00. They have plenty of vegetarian options too.

May 2025: Stopped by for breakfast on the Golden holiday. Tried the warm breakfast quinoa bowl which was delicious. Topped with yogurt, strawberry, blueberry, banana and walnuts. Would definitely come back for that. Reminds me of a warm oatmeal breakfast cereal. Also shared the avocado toast with salmon. Topped with pickles and radish. Lovely combination. The bread 🍞 had nice taste and texture. Service was friendly. Would definitely come back again for more delicious breakfast.

Service was good. Serving sizes were quite small. Especially for price. Very cute cafe. Ambiance was nice. Food was acceptable taste, nothing stupendous. Ordered eggs Benedict which was half of usual portion. Eggs Benedict usually comes with two eggs on two toasts. The mini pancakes were a very small portion but tasty. Food tasted good. Hot chocolate was fun but very cool temperature. He asked to get it reheated.

At first, I was ready to give this place 5 stars and say that those who gave it 1 are just picky tourists. But then I realized what the real issue is. The restaurant itself is cozy and cool inside, which is great during the Japanese summer. My order was taken quickly, and in about 5 minutes I got my coffee ☕ and jamon sandwich 🥪. The sandwich was excellent — perfectly seasoned, with aged jamon (380 days or more). The coffee was also really good, served in a teapot with a small bowl, which was a nice touch. But that’s where the positives end. My wife’s order didn’t arrive. We waited 10, 15, then 20 minutes. Finally, we managed to ask a staff member, and she ran off without saying much. After another 10 minutes, they brought her kakigori 🍧, which was just average for the price. And the iced tea 🧊🍵 she ordered? Never came. It wasn’t even on the bill — the staff simply forgot it. There weren’t many customers, yet the service was this bad. If I’m spending 5,000 yen for a sandwich, a dessert, and drink, I expect the staff to at least remember the order. Just sad. And in case anyone thinks the problem was communication — it wasn’t. I speak fluent Japanese, and my wife is Japanese. The issue is entirely with how the staff handles things here.

le pain quotidien is a place I've visited for the first time in mexico and i fell in love with it. let's say that the branches in japan are quite a bit different. No matter where you go the service in Japan is always good, I've never had a bad experience related to the service in Japan. the food tho was a lot of ups and downs. the hot chocolate was let's say different than what i am used to. the trio of hummus was let's say okay but different also. the granola with yoghurt was okay. the chicken pesto and cheese on a toast was okay bu nothing exceptional. the roasted potatoes with herbs were yummy. the cakes were a deception especially the pistacchio cake. in brief they can do better than this.

I visited this restaurant with my friends and unfortunately had a very disappointing experience. The staff member, a woman with black hair in a ponytail, was extremely cold and dismissive. There was no greeting at the entrance, ordering took unusually long, and when I asked to move to a smaller table and order again, my request was rudely rejected without explanation. Instead of communicating, the staff simply turned away. As a foreign guest who has always enjoyed respectful service in Japan, I felt unwelcome here. This experience was unpleasant and very disappointing.

Nestled inside Tokyo Station, the hotel provides straightforward access from both of Tokyo's airports as well as to the Shinkansen, JR lines, and subway.
The Tokyo Station Hotel was an incredible stay. It’s surprisingly quiet for a boutique hotel located right inside the station they’ve done an excellent job at keeping the outside noise completely out. The rooms are impressively spacious, especially by Japan’s standards, and every detail feels thoughtfully designed. The breakfast buffet was a real highlight, offering a wide variety of delicious options there’s truly something for everyone. The staff were exceptional: warm, attentive, and always ready to help. It’s definitely worth the stay, and I wouldn’t hesitate to come back again.

This was the final stop on our two-week trip around Japan, and it couldn’t have been a better ending. The hotel's location is unbeatable—directly connected to the train station and conveniently accessible from both inside and outside the complex. The hotel itself is stunning, both inside and out. Upon arrival, the front desk staff were friendly, helpful, and spoke excellent English. While they weren’t able to accommodate an early check-in, they gladly held our bags so we could explore the area while we waited. Our room was very spacious, and whether you’re facing the interior dome of the station or the city skyline, the views are a treat—perfect for people-watching and soaking in the atmosphere. The room had everything we needed: a reasonably priced minibar, a wide range of toiletries, even thoughtful extras like luggage stickers and a thermometer (which came in handy when someone in our group was feeling unwell). We tried both room service and the breakfast buffet. Room service was prompt and much better than what we’re used to in the U.S. But the real highlight was the breakfast buffet—absolutely phenomenal! The bathroom was exceptional, with a large soaking tub, a separate toilet room, and a high-tech, heated toilet seat. The Japanese truly excel when it comes to clean, functional, and luxurious restrooms. The bed was large and incredibly comfortable. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for an upscale experience in a prime location.

After seeing the bathroom and the low quality bathroom amenities, I was shocked that a 5 star hotel would offer products like that. Every JR hotel has bath salts, and there were none provided. The soap and shampoo etc looked like products in 3 or 4 star hotels in America. I avoid those products at all cost. The slippers???? Thin and crappy. Now maybe the more expensive rooms have higher quality products, but what I saw left a bad taste in my mouth. I expected better from a 5 star rated hotel. Honestly, even though I love the idea of staying at Tokyo Station, in reality, it was difficult to get to the hotel after getting off the Shinkansen. Plus the convenience of being in a Station is lowered when you realize that you can't shop and bring things back to your room because the hotel entrance is on the south side and you must have a ticket to get in or out. I cut my reservation short after 2 nights and went to a different JR hotel. It might not have been a 5 star, but it's pretty nice and they had bath salts.

A Truly Immersive Historical Experience with Minor Quirks My stay at The Tokyo Station Hotel was largely magnificent. It is more than just a hotel; it's a living museum and a stunning piece of history. The architecture and interior design are the undisputed stars. Staying here feels like a privilege. The perfect blend of the original "Tatsuno-style" red brick facade and the modern, elegant interior—like the beautiful yet minimalist glass partitions in the ground-floor restaurant that echo the Taisho-era romance—is masterful. The commitment to the theme is everywhere: from the classical European-style soft furnishings in the room and the fresh flowers adorning the long hallways to the historical photographs on the walls. Waking up to the complimentary newspaper and enjoying the exquisite breakfast buffet (which was delicious and beautifully presented) further enriched the classic, refined experience. The service is impeccable, with staff being exceptionally attentive and professional. However, a few practical points prevent a full 5-star rating. Most notably, our room's bathroom had a slight, persistent musty smell from the pipes, which is at odds with the otherwise luxurious atmosphere. Furthermore, the hotel's restaurants close quite early, meaning we were unable to have dinner in the hotel on a night we arrived late—a significant inconvenience for a luxury property. Lastly, the hotel's unique, long, linear corridor layout, while beautiful, can be a bit disorienting and easy to get lost in. Despite these quirks, the hotel's unparalleled charm and historical significance make it a highly recommended stay. I would gladly return, hoping for a room with updated plumbing and with better planning for dinner.

I was completely satisfied with your hotel from Check-In to Check-Out. Aside from that, I had a smile with the kind smiles and service of the hotel staff, as well as everything else. Specifically, the gift and photo for my birthday will be an unforgettable memory. I sincerely appreciate your hotel's service and everything that lives up to its reputation. I hope to stay at your hotel again ASAP. cf> However, the staff at "TANBAYA" seemed discriminatory. They didn't greet or serve me or my family from the moment we entered until we left. But a few seconds after, they greeted the Japanese women who came after me with a smile and kind service. My family went in to buy a gift, but was disappointed and left. My wife and son were distraught and angry. They told me that the nice image they had of the hotel from their stay for several days was far gone.

Truly a luxurious hotel. Beautiful rooms and staff that go the extra mile. Quiet rooms, good AC, smart TVs, lavish bathrooms. Great location. Whiskey bar and lobby lounge were great too.

Everyone was exceptional. Everyone was extremely helpful and friendly. The breakfast buffet was vast and delicious. I especially want to mention how helpful Ann Nakamoto was. We needed to change our train ticket and the JR staff was unable to help. She offered to translate for us and the JR Staff still was unable to help. Ann did not give up and she eventually found a way for us to change our ticket. We want to recognize how over and above her service was because she is a very valuable asset to the hotel.

Rokurinsha is a renowned ramen restaurant located in Tokyo Station's Ramen Street. Since its establishment in 2009, it has gained fame for its specialty dish known as tsukemen, or dipping noodles. The eatery is easily identifiable by the long line of eager customers waiting to savor their rich and flavorful soup that has set the standard for this type of ramen.
A must visit if you love rich, flavorful tsukemen! Even at 8:30 PM, the line at the Tokyo Station Ramen Street branch was about 30 minutes long, totally worth it. Their signature seafood & pork bone dipping broth is salty, thick, and aromatic. On its own it’s heavy, but paired with their ultra thick, springy noodles, it’s just perfect. The broth clings beautifully to the noodles, and the thick cut chashu, soft boiled egg, nori, and green onions make it a hearty and satisfying bowl. Don’t miss the wari soup at the end, diluting the leftover broth into a lighter clear soup is the traditional (and very satisfying) way to finish. I also tried the ramen, which is lighter but still tasty. That said, if you love bold, heavy flavors, the tsukemen is definitely the highlight. Rokurinsha’s tsukemen is truly next level. Worth the wait!

I pass this restaurant at least four times a week since I work nearby. It always has a long queue, so I thought, why not check it out? I waited around 35 minutes before reaching the ticket machine and around 8-10 minutes before getting my food. I had the large special dip noodles, which cost me 1300 Yen. The noodles were great, and the chasu was very delicious. However, I didn’t taste anything special in the soup. Was it tasty? Yes! But would I queue again to eat it? Probably not.

When you visit Tokyo Station, you definitely have to try this popular ramen shop! We waited about 15 mins in line and it’s a self-order system. This place is famous for its dipping noodles, so we decided to try two different types. One was spicy, and while it was just okay, the noodles were fantastic - super chewy and delicious! ! Overall, it’s a ramen spot worth checking out!

Nestled in the basement of Tokyo Station, along the bustling and iconic Ramen Street, lies one of the city’s most unforgettable tsukemen spots. Though the space is compact, the experience is anything but small. This shop specializes in tsukemen, or dipping ramen, and it’s a masterclass in flavor and texture. The dipping sauce is a rich, umami-laden broth—deeply savory with subtle hints of sweetness and smokiness. It coats the noodles beautifully, elevating each bite into something crave-worthy. The noodles themselves are thick, springy, and perfectly chewy, crafted to hold their own against the bold broth. Despite its limited seating, the restaurant operates with remarkable efficiency. The flow of diners is smooth and systematic, making it easy to get in and out without feeling rushed. It’s a testament to Japanese precision and hospitality. Every time I’m in Tokyo, this ramen shop is a must. It’s not just a meal—it’s a pilgrimage.

We visited this ramen spot late in the evening and were pleasantly surprised to find no queue. The ramen was excellent—rich in flavor and very satisfying. Portions are very generous, so keep that in mind if you’re not too hungry. We tried both the dipping ramen and the regular one; I’d definitely recommend the dipping ramen for its depth of flavor. The extra meat is worth adding too—just skip the minced version. Great experience overall!

Come at around 7 pm friday, wait for around 30 mins The tsukemen is worth the hype ! I ordered Tsukemen special with fresh shichimi - It was very delicious. All the topping goes well with the soup. I really liked the fresh shichimi - it added a unique flavor and refreshing taste to the soup. Overall I really enjoyed this ! Would revisit if possible ** Tokyo station is super complex, make sure you exit the right exit or else you need to walk 10 mins more like me lol

I ordered the Tsukemen, and it was delicious. The noodles were perfectly chewy, and the dipping broth was rich and flavorful. The noodles absorbed the broth nicely when eaten together. The boiled egg was well-seasoned with just the right amount of salt — very tasty overall.

Located in Odaiba, Tokyo, 'bills Odaiba' is the third Japanese branch of the renowned all-day dining restaurant chain founded by Bill Granger. The restaurant offers an expansive breakfast menu featuring juicy wagyu burgers and the famous fluffy Ricotta pancake. Situated on the ground floor of Aqua City, it boasts spacious indoor and outdoor seating, although there is often a line. Despite this, the wait time is usually manageable.
Bills delivers a top-tier dining experience. The food was absolutely delicious, with fresh, flavorful dishes that live up to the Australian brunch reputation. From fluffy pancakes to perfectly cooked mains, every bite was a treat. The atmosphere was relaxed and welcoming, making it the perfect spot to unwind. The decor is tranquil, tasteful, and totally on point—modern yet cozy, with a natural, airy feel that elevates the whole experience. If you're looking for a Western style breakfast, Bills in Odaiba is a solid choice. Highly recommend!

Really liked this place! Me and my family went here for breakfast and the sandwiches + the pancakes were divine! They have a vanilla milkshake that is natural vanilla made with authentic Japanese milk. And the food itself is also very authentic itself. Overall I rate everything 5 stars 💗

Five of the six in our party had the wagyu burger (the only kind of burger on the menu). The patty was thick and juicy, and satisfying to eat. I did, however, get a pretty bad burn when some of the juice/oil came out and dripped on my hand. Not really preventable by the restaurant, but not pleasant, so be careful when eating the burger, I guess. The fries were dry and not crispy at all. The fresh dill pickles were good, but a tad too sweet for my taste. Service was fairly half-hearted. The male waiter who greeted us and to whom we told we had 6 in our party, came to our table something like 10-15 minutes after we sat down to give us 5 sets of utensils. I had to ask for another set. Also, they didn’t give us any menus for awhile and we had to ask them for it. Any halfway decent server, especially at a restaurant in this price range, should give you a menu as they are seating you. The female server who gave us the menus started walking away before someone in our party could even ask a question. Surprisingly inattentive service, especially for Japan.

First time trying Bills, a shop with Australian flare. Coming from the US, honestly my taste is limited. Glad to try Bills and its delicious take on Australian foods plus possibly with subtle Japanese influence, maybe😋. Overall very yummy and relaxing experience. Totally casual. Service team is excellent. Will revisit. FYI, we mostly had desserts and salad since we ate too much during the day tour 🤣. Thanks for being here Bills 🤗

Went on a Thursday evening and there was no wait and we were seated immediately. The atmosphere was great with low lighting and low music, and the restaurant wasn’t full. We were seated in the back as the rest of the customers were with a view of the Rainbow Bridge. Service was 5/5, very kind and attentive whenever we asked to order more or needed other stuff. We ordered their parmesean crumbed chicken, wagyu burger, hot chocolate, dark chocolate cashew mousse, and immunity shots. I had never had a hot chocolate served this way before and it was so good. Make sure to drink it while it’s warm or else the chocolate will harden and separate into small bits. My mom loved the immunity shots and the chicken, but one bit of the chicken was way too firm to cut and she had to pass. The burger tasted great as well and came with herbed fries. Would highly recommend.

The restaurant has a very nice ambiance and a charm about it. The staff was nice attentive but the place was packed and our waiter was very bust. I feel like there should have been 1 more waiter on the floor to help since it was so busy. Food was good and the only reason I did not give food and service a 5 was because we waited so long for our food and it came out room temperature so it was obviously siting for a while. Plus the consistency of the cook on the bacon was off as one piece was still very chewy and noticeably under done compared to the other two. Pancakes were very good but again room temperature and could have been better hot. I did like the pork fennel sausage but it also was slightly undercooked. Overall I would recommend.

Blue Bottle Coffee - Shinjuku Cafe is a popular spot known for its high-quality coffee and great selection of beans, making it a good choice for brewing at home. The cafe's design features a simple and clean aesthetic with light brown hues and stainless steel countertops. Located in the newly renovated Shinjuku Station/NeWoMan shopping center, the pristine white and warm wooden interior attracts both travelers and locals. The staff efficiently handles the bustling crowds, providing smooth service amidst the constant buzz of conversation.
The hot Americano here is really good, and the price is reasonable at about ¥500. This branch tends to be quite busy, but the staff are friendly and attentive. They also offer a selection of baked goods and mugs for sale. There’s ample seating, making it a great place to enjoy your coffee.

Very busy store with a lot of tourists in the middle of shinjuku . Would say the coffee and the matcha cake that I ordered was good but seats are hard to come by , and you definitely don’t want to sit outside on such a hot day today(37oC!!!) Almost all seats are high table quite hard to sit on, but it’s connected to the mall so it’s nice place to take a break from shopping

This is the middle of Shinjuku so of course it’s crowded and hectic, but the large excellent staff manages to give everyone great service and delicious coffee — and other things. There’s indoor and outdoor seating. If you need to use the bathroom take the escalator up one floor and follow the signs.

A Sense of Calm Amidst the Storm: Americano at the Blue Bottle Shinjuku Branch The visit to Blue Bottle Coffee's branch in Shinjuku, located within the NEWoMan shopping complex, felt like an island of serenity in the heart of one of the world's busiest transportation hubs. While the streets outside were buzzing, stepping into the café revealed a space of stark contrast: a place dedicated to calm, aesthetics, and concentration. A Refreshing Contrast in the City's Core The minimalist design of the branch, with its bright wooden surfaces and clean counter, created a perfect contrast to the urban chaos outside. The clear objective of the space is to eliminate all distractions, allowing the customer to focus on the essential: the coffee. Sitting down, I felt that the clean, quiet atmosphere, designed with inspiration from Japanese aesthetics, allowed for a brief and refreshing "time suspension." The Americano: Japanese Precision in a Cup I chose to order a hot Americano. A seemingly simple drink, but at Blue Bottle, it becomes a true test of quality. The barista, working behind the counter with full focus, prepared the espresso at a perfect temperature and with precision, mixing it with hot water in the most accurate ratio. The result was a cup of coffee that demonstrated the chain's principles: a clean, balanced, and deep flavor. The Americano was not overly strong or bitter in a way that would overwhelm the palate, but rather had a medium body—rich and polished—that highlighted the fresh roast flavors of the beans. Every sip confirmed the brand's policy: using only beans roasted within the last 48 hours. An Experience of Luxurious Simplicity No waffles, no complicated sweet flavors—just me and my perfect Americano. This was an experience that underscored the beauty of simplicity and the importance of quality ingredients. At the Shinjuku branch, Blue Bottle offers not just coffee, but a designer refuge where the only thing that truly matters is the precise moment of enjoying your cup. It was a perfectly positive and refined experience that met every expectation.

We came here for breakfast and coffee was amazing, as expected! But since the place is on the G floor of a building, it's kinda noisy, too crowded, rushy, and not really cozy. I suggest to try in other branch if you're looking for a better vibe.

A very busy location but the space is large, even with the amount of people that frequent it. The coffee is very good. I had their special lavender yuzu latte and it was delicious. The only thing was that because it was busy, the wait for coffee was long. I was there on the weekend at about 1pm and the wait for coffee was about 10-15 mins. We returned the next day at around the same time (Monday) and the wait was a bit shorter.

The French Kitchen is a spacious and sophisticated venue that offers a variety of French dishes and buffets. Located in Roppongi, it's known for its luxurious and cozy atmosphere, making it the perfect place for a long and decadent breakfast or brunch. The Grand Weekend Brunch is particularly popular, offering an extensive buffet with meats, salads, deli bites, fresh bread, desserts, and even champagne. The restaurant also features outdoor tables for those who prefer al fresco dining.
While visiting from the US, my husband & I were able to partake in the Lucky Rabbit Strawberry Afternoon Tea here. The service & staff were top-notch & the venue was very elegant. Our waiter was able to communicate in perfect English to us that the tea was "self-serve buffet-style" and gave us a good selection of drinks we could choose from (3 teas are the designated choices and others are coffee/juice). The various sandwiches, pastries, and desserts were all very high-quality & delicious...I wish that I could have eaten more. I would love to do another afternoon tea here again if we are ever in the area :)

We dined here for the Halloween themed Afternoon Tea . The front desk was very crowded and we were all eventually seated after few minutes . We had reserved a table in advance but I wasn’t happy with our table facing the hallway PC and there was a ladder that didn’t add up to the ambiance. Service was good, not excellent. Coming to the tea selection, there were good options. And afternoon tea menu was seasonal and done to perfection keeping the theme at every bite . I had requested for vegetarian savory items(burger and crepe )and they were delicious. The scones were on the heavier side. The cakes and chocolates were indulgent and the flavors were spot on. The pudding was on the sweeter side, wish it had a fruit in it. The staff should have been much more attentive and warm. Overall, a satisfying experience . But not sure if I would go back .

Couple weeks back we came here for their: The French Kitchen’s Crab and Roast Beef Semi-Buffet Dinner with Seasonal Desserts There is absolutely nothing negative that I can say about our unforgettable night gorging ourselves for 3+ hours! The king crab- so delicious. You have no idea how much 800g of crab this really is. My wife could not finish even half of hers, so I helped her out. The roast beef- I swear I must have gone up 6 times, getting 2 slices each time. Such a high quality beef- it was so tender, so tasty, and perfectly cooked (bloody rare in the middle sections). The sauces they had made it too difficult to choose from so I tried them all. And they were really great. The softshell crabs - of these were off the hook, soooo good! Can't count how many I downed, but I know it was an obscene amount. The remainder- they also served some salads and a crab gratin pasta dish which was good. But had to concentrate on the beef and crabs because there was only so much you can eat when eating at an all you can eat buffet. The desserts were very yummy and had just enough room left to do some damage in this department as well. The level of service was incredible. The quality of food was unreal. This was our first time coming here for a buffet, and it will not be our last! I can't wait to see what their next buffet will be.

We came for their king crab and roast beef buffet special. Everything except the crab was great. The crab itself was so dry and I think they cooked it all that morning then stored in a refrigerator where it dried out to almost jerky consistency and lacked depth of flavor. Very disappointing. However the roast beef was delicious as well as the side dishes like fried soft shell crab and crab gratin.

I had a wonderful experience enjoying a classic English breakfast at this lovely place I randomly ran into. Everything was cooked perfectly — from the crispy bacon and golden hash browns to the rich, flavorful mushrooms and perfectly runny eggs. The baked beans and grilled tomatoes added a comforting, traditional touch, and the toast was served warm and fresh. Turret Coffee Tsukiji is a cozy and artsy cafe that pays homage to the turret mini trucks of the past at Tsukiji fish market. The cafe's warm ambiance, complete with an actual turret setup, adds a nostalgic touch to the experience. It's known for its top-notch espresso and beautifully crafted lattes, including the signature Turret Latte featuring double shots of espresso topped with exquisite latte art.
This was the richest latte I’ve ever had. Unlike a typical latte, it leans more heavily on the espresso—both in quantity and flavor. The Kawasaki Latte was even more intriguing, with a perfect balance of coffee and whiskey. The harmony between the two lasted all the way to the final sip. Judging by the depth of the coffee flavor and the aroma of the whiskey, it likely required quite a bit in terms of ingredient cost. If I travel nearby again, I’d definitely come back. You can sense the owner’s philosophy: prioritizing character and flavor over calculating costs. He recommend the Kawasaki Soda in the summer.

Best coffee in Tokyo, Osaka & Kyoto in my opinion. I always order iced lattes and Turret house blend remains unrivalled. I love its strong bitter flavour, which I was unable to find in other cafes. I highly recommend you give it a try if you enjoy a more bitter taste. The service is fast & friendly. The cafe is on the smaller end, so you might need to opt for a to-go option.

Been coming here since I started coming to Tokyo and the coffee is just as good as always and the friendly service also remains unchanged. It’s a small space but there are benches outside to take your coffee too, weather permitting. Best to bring your own takeout mug, they have some takeaway cups but encourage ppl to bring their own. Love that! The coffee is proper jet fuel— dark, thick and will power your whole morning at Tsukiji.

These are the coffee shops you came to Japan for, small, cozy, full of vibe and atmosphere, and of course the great coffee. Turret Coffee meets all those and they even open at 7am which is much appreciated. I would recommend the turret latte, very strong coffee taste and great flavor. When I went they even had a special for carrot cake cheesecake which was superb and was served as a small size to complement the morning. Sit outside and enjoy the city.

The Lobby at The Peninsula Hotel in Tokyo is a sophisticated and inviting destination that offers a serene atmosphere, making it easy to forget you're in the bustling city. The head chef curates the seasonal ingredients for their renowned breakfast, which includes Japanese, Chinese, Western options as well as a healthier Shojin-inspired choice. This signature restaurant is celebrated for its all-day dining featuring international favorites and live entertainment during their iconic Afternoon Tea service.
Stayed at the hotel and had breakfast each morning. Service is impeccable and food options kept me coming back. Elevated and fancy feeling but food is great and surprisingly relaxing as well.

Can in for a quick drink and tea and had a lovely experience. We were a larger group and they were able to accommodate us quickly. Loved the treats that came with the tea set … all mango themed for the time we were there. Great experience!

Ok, coffee latte not tasty as required, staff seems busy preparing for lunch, was no napkins i asked for it!!!!., came mainly to ask for afternoon tea, I do not worth it to come back again. You do not feel like you are in The Peninsula.

Feb. 2024 Update - Visited the for the strawberry afternoon tea. They've added a few upgrades. They now serve unlimited tea and coffee selections, plus a specialty cocktail. This year, there were also endless strawberries served at your table. The improvements are good. The food this time was also more memorable. I wish they would offer more scones. The clotted cream was really good. Original - Nice space, beautifully decorated. It seemed rather unimposing for the lobby of The Peninsula Hotel. We had the strawberry afternoon tea. It was nice enough. The food was ok, a mix of savory and sweet. The scones were limited, and you were allowed one tea selection. I prefer the Mandarin Oriental.

The cappuccino looked like it came from a machine - it was served in a soup bowl, the ratio of espresso to milk and milk foam was too low, the foam wasn’t tight, no evidence in the foam that the hot milk was poured. The kids breakfast was two silver dollar pancakes, half a banana, some fruit compote and whipped cream and a pond of syrup on a segmented kiddie plate, which is all fine if it isn’t 2500 yen. The fruit plate wasn’t fresh - the mango was sour. The other coffee we ordered was never delivered. My expectations for the Peninsula are higher - two kids breakfasts, a fruit plate, and one cappuccino shouldn’t cost 10,000 yen AND be unacceptably poor. At least the service was pleasant.

Food and service barely passable. Tried most of their The Lobby Breakfast range except for the Naturally Peninsula Breakfast over several days. Stick to either Japanese or Peninsula Breakfast. Service was impersonal and cold as their viennoiserie. Seemed like butter was also a rare item. One staff saved the day, he is enthusiastic and warm, think his name is Takao-san.
VL K — Google review
A wonderful breakfast location at the 1st floor of The Peninsula Hotel. The food was excellent with a large variety including Japanese, Chinese, Western and a Shojin inspired option that is more healthy. Standout was the service (think Takao-san?) that made us feel very welcome due to his warm, genuine and attentive service.

We had girls light dinner. I think it is very good cost balance at peninsula Tokyo. Service and food were also good. I want to try afternoon tea next time.

Grand Kitchen, situated at the Palace Hotel Tokyo in Marunouchi, offers a delightful dining experience with its main dining room featuring a show kitchen and wood-burning oven. The outdoor terrace provides a picturesque view of the Imperial Palace moat, making it an ideal spot for breakfast, business lunches, or formal dinners. Additionally, the restaurant boasts two private dining rooms for intimate gatherings or larger functions.
The terrace area is the best place to dine in Tokyo if the weather is nice during the autumn season. We have been there few time and I would say my fave so far is always the breakfast buffet. This review is for the lunch which we ordered from a la carte menu, overall food quality is really high but there were one or two dishes we found it so so, maybe better to go with sets or ask the staff for recommendations. Not pricy for such a lovely environment and attentive service.

The food was great, the location has a great view front of the imperial palace. We sat outside and the atmosphere was great with the river on the side and birds chirping. Best breakfast we had in Tokyo.

One of my favorite restaurants in Tokyo. The terrace is a very pleasant place to spend a sunny day. The menu offers a wide range of dishes from course to a la carte. Whatever you order, it is delicious and the portions are generous. There are also sweets and afternoon tea, which are only available in the hotel restaurant, and you can also use it as a café. The service is very good, and the space is very comfortable.

Nice atmosphere, u can sit outside or inside. Don’t know what is superb service until I came here. Attentive, efficient, yet non intrusive. The spaghetti was excellent. Quantity reasonable. Price/value is considered v gd n not expensive at all.

Food and service was very good, nice view, they have 2 different places, the restaurant and the lounge where people serve you in traditional kimonos. Everything was very good and the only reason I give 4 stars is the hidden service charge

An amazing place for a romantic dinner. All the food was delicious and the staff was truly amazing and made sure our experience was memorable. I even got to propose to my girlfriend and she said yes! Would recommend to anyone going to or in Tokyo.

Gorgeous dining area and view of the palace area. There’s outdoor and indoor seating. I loved the open kitchen concept. Of course, it’s pricey, but they do have an a la carte menu. The service was impeccable and to be expected from a traditional, beautiful hotel. My colleague and I split the tuna melt and club sandwich. The food was good, but the ambiance was better.

Sakura Cafe & Restaurant Ikebukuro is a popular spot among locals and tourists, open 24 hours a day to cater to early risers and night owls. The cafe offers international cuisine, beer specialties, and an incredibly affordable breakfast buffet. It's a great place to mingle with people from around the world as it's attached to Sakura Hotel, which attracts a diverse crowd.
Food was very good and very filling! Just perfect, a tad bit too hot but very very yummy. The customer service was excellent, even got off topic but yea very nice and also spoke excellent english. The vibe is nice, only some people were loud but it was only a little bit annoying, no one else seemed to mined the people being loud so we made no fuss about it. Overall very great place for quick food or just to hang with friends or family!

Today was a hot Saturday, my husband and I wanted to go out and try something new and interesting restaurant, we saw that this place has a very big and cheesy hamburg steak, so we came here to try out. It is kind of a hidden place in Ikebukuro, a 10 minutes walk from the station. The restaurant looks big and a bit old from the outside. We went inside and got seated at the outside which we like, the atmosphere here is like a bar and restaurant, feels casual but fun. When you are ready to order, you needed to go to the counter and order it yourself, then they will bring the food to you when it’s ready. They have lots of interesting beer choices from around the world, also different food choices from different countries. We chose the hamburger gratin from Portugal and the oven-baked pork with sauerkraut from Montenegro. The food came quite quick. The hamburger gratin was big and delicious, outside is bread, and inside is juicy hamburg steak, top with cheese and tasty sauce. The oven-baked pork with sauerkraut tasted more like a German dish, the pork slices were big and juicy, there were 2 and 1/3 slices pork with lots of sauerkraut. We were very happy with the portion and quality of the food and drinks. It’s a great place to eat and drink with friends or your date, we will come back to try more interesting food on the menu!

Caramelo, located inside the Cerulean Tower, was a convenient and enjoyable dining experience during our stay in Tokyo. Since we were staying at the hotel, its late-night hours made it a perfect spot for a relaxed meal after a long day of exploring the city. The food was decent, offering a satisfying selection that hit the spot. While it may not have been the most exceptional cuisine we’ve had, it was certainly enjoyable and well-prepared
Nataly B — Google review
I don't normally leave negative reviews, but I hope this helps this place because I was blown away with the value for money of the hotel, but the restaurant was atrocious. Some areas I think this place can improve are: 1. Timing. They kept us waiting for over 30 minutes for a lunch plate. Possibly they can serve some salad, soup, or bread if the dish takes time. 2. Staff training. Our first server picked up garbage from the floor and distributed mask cases with the same hand. Another server misinformed us about our selection, which was corrected by a different staff. 3. Consideration. I ordered carbonated water, and they threw away the lid. Anything carbonated needs a lid! 4. Value for money. Quality of the food is at best okay. Given the three points above, the over 2,000 yen lunch plate is not justified at all. Having said all that, I was impressed with the bread here, which was served after our lunch plate. Please do a better job as the hotel and hotel staffs are top notch, but this restaurant needs to be improved asap.
Kohei A — Google review
Extremely disappointed by the breakfast buffet. My biggest concern is poor value for money. The fact that basic items remained perpetually unrefilled or that it took a long time to have items refilled is unacceptable

(Translated by Google) I had lunch in the dining room of the Cerulean Tower Tokyu Hotel. The fresh etouffee I chose was a steamed white fish. The flesh was light and fluffy with a refreshing finish. A slight lemon touch? The sauce was elaborate. This is definitely a hotel meal, as it's delicious♪ It was a half-buffet, with salads and desserts available for self-service. The portions were modest, but the smoked salmon and prosciutto-like dishes were delicious. They gave me a refill of coffee after the meal, so I had another serving of mango pudding♪ With a vast expanse of greenery outside the large windows, it was easy to forget I was in the heart of Shibuya. I spent a relaxing time in this soothing space, also known as the garden kitchen! Verdure offers a spacious and modern all-you-can-eat experience that showcases an impressive array of both traditional and international dishes. Guests can indulge in a delightful lunch buffet featuring Japanese, Western, and Chinese cuisines for 90 minutes at a reasonable price. While some visitors rave about the quality and variety available, others have found their appetite limited due to personal circumstances. Worth the price! Come with an empty stomach and a full appetite though.

Arrived about 8pm, very disappointed over the buffet, as food hardly replenish except soba and very limited choices of meat other than cakes and beef. Value for money if you are beef lovers but non beef, not recommend to try unless you love cakes. During my 9 days of stay in Tokyo, this dining experience is below my expectations. To be fair, quality of food is still up to my expectations. Staff are very friendly and polite unfortunately non English speaking.

If you're in Tokyo and craving a delightful buffet breakfast experience, look no further than Royal Host Ginza Inz. Nestled in the bustling Ginza district, this restaurant is perfect for those seeking traditional Japanese flavors. Be sure to make a reservation as it tends to attract both tourists and hotel guests alike. The buffet time is typically limited to 50 minutes, so plan accordingly! The atmosphere is inviting, with an English menu available via tablet for easy ordering.
Western breakfast, without the tourist gouging pricing or the line ups of the other breakfast restaurants in the area. I had a combo of omelette and drink. It's a good deal, small by western standards but a good start to the day. Highly recommend. Very large dining room, not crowded.
E — Google review
We stumbled upon Royal Host while looking for a late dinner spot, and had the unique experience of trying western-inspired family restaurant. Be advised that staff do not speak English, but don’t let that be a barrier to trying this place! The sets are large with appetizers like salad with onion dressing and French onion soup. Sets also come with a dessert parfait which you can upgrade to the limited time strawberry for just ¥300. It was very nice. If you’re expecting 100% western food you may be disappointed, but keep an open mind about the Japanese-western fusion! It might surprise you.
Allison A — Google review
This place is quite controversial. On one hand, it's probably one of the best family restaurants in Japan, but on the other, for the same price, you could dine at a regular restaurant with even better food quality. Pros: The food quality is at least three times better than other family restaurants. They even serve a decent steak 🥩 where you can choose the doneness. The drink bar is fantastic, offering a wide variety of teas 🍵 that you won’t find in any similar restaurant. There’s also a fridge with different lemonades and a proper coffee ☕ machine. Cons: Expect to wait 30 minutes to an hour just to get a table. The prices are on par with a regular, non-family restaurants. Even though you can choose steak doneness, ordering rare will likely result in medium at best. The drink bar cost. And for heaven’s sake, clean the lamps—they have a thick layer of dust and hang directly over dining tables. Conclusion: It’s a decent spot if you just want to sit and chat for a few hours—but that’s questionable given the long wait time. If your main goal is good food, you might be better off at a regular restaurant.
Niko E — Google review
Quite an affordable place to eat around the Ginza area. I enjoyed my Hamburg. It was very juicy and tender. My friends also liked their meals and had fun trying out the different drinks in the drink bar especially the chocolate and coffee options. There are a lot of food choices as well. Unfortunately, they ran out of desserts. The place is not too loud so you can have a good conversation. The staff were very friendly too.

Great juicy hamburg dish and omurice. Drinks, salad, dessert & coffees are included in the lunch set. Variety of drinks at drink station.

Place is alittle worn down feel like an 80s dinner but the service and food makes up for it. Everyone is eating the parfait but we were so full from the food its hard to take another but. If you plan on going here kindly reserve a qr early on we had to wait almost an hour to get in.

This was not a bad place. We looked around, it was still a bit early. But we stopped here and ordered food. So they have a tablet that has an English menu on it. We were able to place our order, the staff brought it out. There was also a drink bar. Passionfruit juice was really good. I ordered butter soy sauce chicken. It came with fries and an egg on top. It was pretty good. The chicken thigh was cooked well, still tender. Somehow my picture wasn't saved for my meal. Hubby ordered the french toast. He enjoyed his meal as well. Not terrible pricing. They have a drink bar and set meals.

Tsukiji Sushiko Wa Nagomi is a family-friendly restaurant that provides a kids menu and stroller storage. They offer an extensive allergen menu, making it convenient for those with dietary restrictions. The sushi is highly recommended, especially the Otoro and Chutoro, which are wild-caught tuna. The chawamushi egg custard and miso clam soup are also delicious options.
The sashimi here is superb! You see the uni is formed and tasty. The sashimi cuts are decently thick and fresh. Tempura is humongous! I've eaten long ones but they're just cut and drawn this one is really huge! Kinda pricey though get ready to shell out around 5000 yen per pax. But I guess it's worth it.

Awesome lunch deal. Quick, no-frills, tasty sushi at an affordable price. Highly recommend popping by if you're around the area and looking for something quick and easy that doesn't break the bank. Akami, hotate, and toro taku temaki were enjoyable. Shari was still slightly warm so it went well with the decent cuts of neta.

Surprisingly good for a restaurant in a train station! The menu options were impressive, with so many interesting and delicious-looking meals. Unfortunately, I have a small tummy, and it was our last day in Japan. I’m glad this was our farewell meal before leaving! I especially loved the boiled crab and crab miso appetizer! The savory taste was the perfect starter for me. My husband was amazed by his jumbo shrimp rice bowl; the actual portion was much larger than the menu picture. Typically, portions are smaller than advertised, but this restaurant exceeded our expectations. For the price we paid, we felt we were getting more than our money’s worth. The tempura was fresh, served hot, and the batter was light and fluffy. I suggest sharing a meal and ordering several small bites from the menu to sample more dishes. I wrapped up my Japan trip with unagi, which I hadn’t had the chance to eat since arriving in Japan. No regrets! The eel was soft, fresh, and cooked to perfect tenderness. I was very happy with my set. I wish I could have tried more from their menu and hope to return someday. Service was fantastic. Meals were served quickly, and the chefs were so enthusiastic, greeting every guest with welcoming energy. The floor staff were helpful, courteous, and always smiling. This restaurant has one of the largest seating capacities we’ve seen. We were lucky to be the first customers of the lunch crowd, getting seated immediately and having our orders taken promptly. Overall, we were overly joyed with our experience. Wishing the restaurant continued success, and thank you for the great meal and hospitality!

When I don't have much time but still crave delicious sushi, I always swing by this standing counter. Apparently, sushi was originally a fast food, a quick and easy meal for everyone. I think anyone, even foreigners, could easily try it, whether they go for a set menu or à la carte.

There was a very short line, but we were looking forward to eating sushi too much not to wait. We ended up waiting for 15 minutes. Then we were taken to the table. The staff was friendly and fast. We had some vegetarian hand-rolled sushi, some maki with tuna & avocado, and a fish mix bowl (I don't remember the exact name). We sunk it all with some Asahi beers. In the background the chefs were having some fun talking to one another. It was a pleasant atmosphere.

It was one of the best sushi experiences that I had in Tokyo, we ordered the combination menu for two people with 32 pcs which helped us to taste all sorts of real japanese made sushi, what I like was the addition of the Wassabi between the fish and the rice which was just the right amount when I add it myself :)) , the staff were very polite and the kitchen is super clean, a bit pricy with two miso soup and one bear and one palm wine, the total cost was around 12000 yen, I will definitely come back again!

Breakfast restaurant
No.4 is a trendy bakery cafe located in Chiyoda-ku, just a short walk from Ichigaya Station. It offers a variety of wood-fired pizzas, classic pastries, salads, and coffee in a modern setting with both indoor and outdoor seating. While the sourdough bread is highly praised, some have found it disappointing due to its soft crust after being displayed for some time. The restaurant is part of the same group that operates TY Harbor Brewery & Crista.
I’m pretty sure I put this place on my list because they sell sourdough bread, which isn’t readily available in Tokyo. I went in the evening and got right in, but most of the bread selection was gone by that time. So I’ll definitely be back. But what I did stay for was the brioche french toast and it was outstanding. It’s a repeat item for sure. The space is also cool, and feels a bit rustic. Service was fast and friendly.

No. 4 Café may look like an unassuming single level building in the bustling city of Tokyo, but it was already crowded even on a Monday morning at 9am. When I arrived, I took a queue number and noticed that there were already 6 groups ahead of me. Since I was dining alone, I selected the option to sit anywhere, including outdoors. It did not take long before a waiter guided me to an outdoor seat. Orders were placed conveniently by scanning a QR code. I ordered the French Toast Combo Set together with a cup of iced Americano. The food was served within 15 minutes and looked absolutely fantastic. The French toast came with a variety of sides, which allowed me to mix and match different ingredients to create unique flavour combinations with each bite. Overall, it was a hearty breakfast that was both delicious and beautifully presented. This is definitely a café that should not be missed if you are in Tokyo.

We got here around 8:30am and put our names on the list. It was about a 35 minute wait. When we got seated, they did have an English menu so really easy ordering process, and our server was so sweet. I ended up getting a coffee and though I do not remember the name, I remember it was delicious. For the main show I got the French toast breakfast it came with a fried egg and this whipped butter that was to die for!

The French toast is moist, and the seasoning is not overly sweet at all. Both the bread and the dipping sauce are delicious. I highly recommend the brunch here ✨
Harry C — Google review
This café offered a very pleasant experience overall. I had a warm café latte, which was creamy, rich, and perfectly balanced. The portion was generous, and it had a deep, satisfying coffee flavor that made it a great start to the meal. For food, I ordered the homemade Caesar salad, which was prepared in a slightly unique style. It was not a standard Caesar salad, but it was very well executed. The lettuce was crisp and fresh, the dressing had a rich and tangy flavor, and the parmesan tied everything together beautifully. The croutons were crunchy and added a lovely texture. It was a refreshing and flavorful salad, and I would definitely recommend trying it when visiting the café. The second dish I had was a falafel plate served with flatbread, vegetables, and sauce. The falafel was slightly dry but still flavorful, and it had a nice spice mix. The grilled vegetables, especially the mushrooms and beetroot, were excellent and added great depth to the plate. The flatbread paired well with everything, and the sauce in the middle was the highlight. It was creamy, rich, and complemented the dish perfectly. The combination of all elements worked very well together, even if the falafel could have been a bit moister. The service was outstanding. The café is very well organized with a modern system. You order online using a QR code at your table, and for seating you get a waiting ticket from an iPad. The staff works quickly, efficiently, and with great coordination. Everyone seemed focused and genuinely dedicated to their work, which gave the place a very professional but friendly atmosphere. The ambiance was charming and comfortable, with a warm and relaxed feeling. The space was nicely designed and felt welcoming. Overall, this café offers great food, excellent service, and a pleasant environment.

Worth the Wait? Stepping into the bustling heart of Tokyo, we found ourselves drawn to a highly-raved bakery cafe, a spot promising artisanal delights. The aroma of freshly baked bread wafted through the air, a tantalizing invitation that, unfortunately, came with a significant caveat: a 1.5-hour wait. Yes, you read that right – ninety minutes spent anticipating our brunch (originally breakfast). Once seated, the experience took a turn for the visually spectacular. From the delicate pastries adorned with fresh berries to the meticulously arranged savory toasts, it was clear that the chefs here possess an incredible eye for detail, turning simple ingredients into Instagram-worthy masterpieces. However, when it came to the actual taste, our expectations, perhaps inflated by the long wait and the visual feast, were met with a more moderate reality. The food was, in a word, "alright." While certainly not bad, it didn't quite reach the heights of culinary excellence that the presentation suggested. The flavors were pleasant, but lacked that distinctive "wow" factor that would justify such a lengthy queue. Adding to this, I couldn't help but feel that the prices leaned towards the higher side for what was offered. While Tokyo is known for its premium dining experiences, the slight disconnect between the "alright" taste and the "beautifully presented, slightly overpriced" tag left me pondering the overall value. The Verdict: If you're someone who prioritizes aesthetics and doesn't mind a considerable wait for a picturesque meal, this bakery cafe might just be your cup of tea (or coffee!). The ambiance is charming, and the food is undeniably photogenic. However, if your primary goal is an unforgettable culinary experience that justifies both the wait and the price tag, you might find yourself, like us, leaving with a feeling of "it was good, but..."

Maybe the best French toast in Japan 🥰 Been coming years now They got super soft and fluffy French test from their brioche bread baked on site Doesn’t even need syrup! Just solo or with the butter They do have a seasonal French toast that changes monthly. Be warned ‼️ this place went viral on social media so expect a LONG wait. Especially on weekends. Waited 2-3 hours in past. Ngl this is main reason I don’t come often 🤣 Thankfully they’ve added a ticketing system No line usually before closing. Last order is at 8:30pm Place can be pretty noisy btw 10/8 update came for 🎃 pumpkin French toast. Was great but know they’ve raised prices a bit 🫠

Nestled in Tokyo's Yoyogi Park, CAMELBACK sandwich&espresso is a cozy industrial-style café known for its creative sandwiches and exceptional coffee. The brainchild of former sushi chefs with a passion for sandwiches, this tiny take-out spot takes pride in meticulously crafting each item on their menu.
Tried camelback last year on my first trip to Japan. Had the egg omelet sandwich and the prosciutto, fresh tomato and rucola sandwich; came back again this year for the same sandwiches 😂 would really like to try the mushroom one tho. I’m from LA so vanilla lattes exist in every corner but it’s not the case for Japan where caramel lattes are the norm instead, so I was so excited that this coffee shop had vanilla lattes!! So good that I got one for the road after too lmfao Staff is super friendly, sweet, and lowkey kinda cute 😂. If you come near opening time, no wait; otherwise be prepared for a line. Would come back again next trip 😂

I needed something savory before heading out so I popped in to get a sandwich. At first I was worried because the bread looks hard but once you bit into it, the crust opened up to a warm, soft center. The egg was also nicely cooked and there was definitely some sort of sauce or other "dressing", adding an additional flavor. The matcha latte I had was okay. Nothing bad but also nothing to write home about. I did find it a little unclear that you needed to order a drink with the sandwich. It wasn't an issue though. The space is small, so expect to wait and if you can't get a seat outside, you'll be taking your order to go. Also, there's quite a bit of smoking which was unpleasant.

We loved loved loved this spot, we went back several times. I’ll be thinking about that egg sandwich when I get home! It’s something special. We also got the prosciutto sandwich which was also so good! Definitely recommend! I didn’t get a photo of the egg sandwich but it was delicious! Also the barista remembered my name when I came back which is always a nice touch!

Very small space, you have to seat in a bench right in front of the shop, but I loved the the sandwich and coffee, service was very good also. Had the Brie cheese, with apple sandwich, never had anything like this before and loved it. Definitely would visit again.

Nice bread & coffee! 👍🏻 Requested for recommendation and it was a great choice! Crispy bread with cheese and apples... nice & refreshing for morning breakfast. Their Americano was to my liking of dark roasted not light tasted compared to some. There is only some benches seating outside the cafe so you either grab a bench or stand around or take out. Strongly recommend to try!

Had one of the best macchiatos and sandwiches here. My wife got the tamago sando and I got the prosciutto and ooba sandwich here. They both were delicious and paired perfectly with our drinks. Not only was the food and coffee god but the staff were FANTASTIC! They were such lovely and cool people who took out the time to chat with us. I also ended up getting some really dope house brand socks. The atmosphere was great and well organized and the seats outside provided for a some cool vibes and photos. Would highly recommend and will be stopping by again on my next visit to Japan

Sawamura Bread & Tapas is a popular European-style bakery and cafe known for its hot and cold tapas, light lunches, breads, and sweet pastries. The bakery's weekend queues are a testament to its local popularity, with customers flocking in for classic loaves and seasonal pastries featuring Japanese ingredients. Despite being busy, the atmosphere is never crowded.
I had the beef cheek stewed in red wine sauce, and I am not joking when I say it was one of the most divine and luxurious meals I've had in Japan. ❤️❤️. It is sweet and delicious. Absolutely remarkable!! I've had many delicious Japanese and other ethnic meals in Japan, and this is definitely one of the top ^^ Food of the gods ❤️ It's made even more amazing by the fact that this is a 2nd floor restaurant above a bakery, and it's available for lunchtime ^^ The meal is served with a nice green salad, and 4 different pieces of fresh bread from the bakery downstairs. The bread is absolutely delicious when eaten plain, but I recommend saving a couple slices to eat with the remaining red wine sauce - it is absolutely delicious!! The bread served for me included a piece of chewy mochi bread, French bread, a sliced loaf bread, and a raisin bread. I particularly loved the raisin bread. I recommend an iced coffee to cut the sweetness afterward. I am definitely going to come back ^^ I want to try the other lunch options, but it will be very hard to choose them over the beef 😂 I hope the beef continues to stay on the menu!! ❤️

Bread and Tapas SAWAMURA NISHIAZABU TOKYO Dinner is also recommended It’s bakery restaurant. Tapasus dishes that go well with wine are a staple of Spanish restaurants in my part of Hong Kong. If you have ever heard that Japanese bread is delicious, you should try the bread here. Because, as far as I know, it is the best bread in Japan, and the reason is that you can eat it every day. The food goes well with wine, plus good bread, so it is very satisfying. The atmosphere is more like coming with family or friends, but since there is a counter, there are probably many customers who come alone. When I visited the restaurant, it was empty, but I recommend making a basic reservation to visit the restaurant. On this day, I came to Tokyo right after arriving from Hong Kong without having eaten anything, so I asked for a little too much. (笑)

I came here in January 2020 and had the most unexpectedly good latte I’ve ever had (the honey cinnamon latte). I came back 3 years later and it’s just as good! Pastries were also delicious—I had a butter croissant and cinnamon roll. The croissant was phenomenal and paired amazingly with an iced honey cinnamon latte. I highly recommend this cafe!

Stopped by in the afternoon to grab a coffee, and it was a moderate strength and OK. It was quite quiet and the atmosphere was nice to be able to catch up with a friend or do some reading in a quiet, clean and modern cafe. We didn't try any food, but the menu seemed to serve Italian fusion food.

Tried their Norwegian salmon and honey caramel latte for lunch. Good food and service! They also serve a complimentary bread basket and they have a wide selection of pastries as well.

I easily liked this place, its more of a european concept. Be sure to go there in the morning to get freshly baked pastries! I specifically liked the mushroom tartine, also the walnut bread with cream, plus of course their coffe.

A quaint bakery/breakfast spot, with the to go bakery goods served on the entry floor, and thr restaurant on the second floor up a long winding spiral staircase. We only went to eat at the restaurant, so this review will be about that experience. However, all the pastries and baked goods looked delicious. The breakfast sets all sounded great, and we settled for the toast set and french toast set. Both were filling, tasty, and enjoyable with the relaxing ambience. A bit pricier for breakfast, but that might be par for the course here in Tokyo.

#toast 514 — been here a few times for their French toast but this time they ran out by the time I got there (weekday, 2pm) so I ordered the avocado toast instead. The portion size is always quite generous though the wait for indoor seats can take a while. I would still recommend sitting in the inside especially during the summer months since it’s quite hot even though the terrace is shaded. Crisscross is also part of the same restaurant group as No.4, and they share similar vibes. Follow @nomkakaii on Instagram for more toast adventures!

The food was delicious and presented very nicely. We sat on the terrace and it was well heated, blankets were provided if you need them. The overall vibe of the restaurant is very nice. My only complaint is that the lemonade was not serve in a glass which didn’t match the picture on the menu.

This place is always busy on the weekend. There are no reservations so be prepared to wait 15-30 mins. You queue up via the kiosk and it will print you a ticket. The food was a typical american brunch with various options. It tasted standard 3/5, but the cherry pie we got was okay at best. I’ve had each item ordered better somewhere else, for example the pancakes at Bills. The presentation of the food was 5/5 though. The atmosphere of the restaurant reminded me of LA on the weekends, with the outdoor seating and everyone hanging out. I enjoyed it. For the price, you’re paying for the location and the atmosphere, not so much the taste of the food.
Brent — Google review
Food was great and presented nicely. Ordered a salad, pancake with eggs and Mac n Cheese. The highlight was actually the salad. The leaves were really fresh, almonds were fresh and nicely toasted, barley was added which gave a good texture and the cheese, apple and beetroot gave it a good acidic, mineral like flavours Pancake was standard as most japanese shops that does pancakes are at high quality, but the portion was a bit big, total of 3 pieces. Sausage was tasty. Mac and Cheese was good although the sauce was most likely from canned mushroom soup blended with real mushrooms. Overall sitting outside with a gas warmer with hot food and good tea (surprisingly the black tea was tasty) was very comforting, and it's positioned in a good neighbourhood. Took us 15-20mins wait with 7 seats in front of us at 11.30am on a Saturday morning. Staff spoke good English and we're very friendly. Great place and would come back and recommend it to others .

We were searching for a restaurant with an all-day breakfast menu, and Google led us to this spot in Aoyama, surrounded by other great dining options. We arrived around 11 AM for brunch, got a queue number, and waited about 30 minutes before being seated. We were placed outside—some areas felt a bit crowded, but it was still a pleasant experience. The service time was reasonable, and the food was absolutely delicious! It is on the pricier side, but worth it. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a cozy brunch spot, especially for pancake lovers!

Service was great. The club sandwich was amazing and the strawberry mocha pancakes were soo good!! 9/10 would definitely reccomend. We got pastries from the bakery next door and they were the best I’ve ever had. Get the cronut!! You should get there earlier as you’ll have to wait for a table, we waited about 40 mins at 930am.

There was the salmon and asparagus sandwich melt specials when I was there. Super cheesy and lots of stuff inside, with sides of thick tomato soup that you could dip the sandwich in, and choice of salad or fries. Also had macadamia pancakes, generous toppings of nuts. Best to go early and prepare yourself for the wait. Went on Saturday around 14:00, got a queue number, and waited for an hour. Surprisingly crowded, given that they have both terrace and indoor seatings, but overall great experience.

Good location. Nice food. Nice bread. Just a bit pricy because of wonderful location. We got kicked out in 90 minutes. There weren’t people waiting in line outside so why...? A friend of mine joined afterwards (she came in late for 30 min) and there wasn’t additional seat. We found a vacant seat at our next table and we asked the customers at the next table directly if we can use it. They were fine with it. We managed to squeeze the seat into our table but the restaurant wasn’t very pleased with it... We were uncomfortable with the rude attitude of the staff there. Not so sure if my foreign national friends would like to go there again. probably not. Food and the atmosphere of the restaurant was good so it’s a pity.

It's OK. Not sure if I can recommend this place, but not a total reject. Food was good. Menu is expensive. Atmosphere is great. Lots of reviews complaining about staff and service. Staff and service was OK, but not to the level it should be for this level of a restaurant. It was not busy during our meal. I can see service being an issue when it is busy. Take a chance on this place if none of the other restaurants appeal to you.

It is a restaurant where Awajishima and Nagano collaborated. The atmosphere is nice in open kitchen, open counter and terrace seat anywhere. Decoa has created a very calm space based on white based on the ceiling facility which was popular in the 80 's and 90' s.

Best place for the formal meetings and gatherings. But the food options can be made better. As the place is suitable for large groups, more staff are expected to respond.
Santosh S — Google review
This place is very lacking in what they offer for the money. ¥10,000 for an open bar and food buffet, but they try and charge you extra when you request a certain spirit. They actually made up the prices because there were no drink menu to go by. The bartenders knew nothing about making drinks, their attitude was awful regarding how workers should act towards customers. The manager wasn’t helpful either and the overall service was deplorable to say the least. If you’re looking for a nice place to eat and enjoy steer clear of this place because it is absolutely atrocious!! And the staff are horrible and acted like they didn’t want to be bothered having to work on a Sunday. The absolute worse restaurant/bar in all of Japan. If you don’t believe it just read the other 1 star ratings below. I wonder how this place even stays in business. I doubt the owner even cares or reads the reviews, or he pays his staff so little he just allows it without a care.

The atmosphere can get lively quickly, especially right after opening when eager customers flock to sample their renowned donuts and pastries.
The bread i like the most Krapfen!!! I came all the way from saitama to buy this bread. The cafe place to sit seems less chairs. It seems cool. I always take out the breads. Recommend you guys to try it if you like raisin. It has two kinds of type. Cinnamon and sugar. I prefer sugar more for me. Other breads seem delicious as well.

The various donuts with filling is fantastic. The long flaky buttery pastry was quite dry and very chewy.

It's a good place to spend time before taking a bullet train. As it is next to the crowded Starbucks, customers are less likely to be aware of that cafe. You can have seats at the back of the bakery. It's a less crowded and hidden good cafe thanks to the popularity of Starbucks.

They had half baguettes for sale, both sliced and unsliced. Very delicious French bread. I bought a second half-loaf for my train journey onwards. Difficult to find the store using Google Maps. The food here is amazing! Perfect location hidden in Shibuya with a great atmosphere that is cozy and congenial. The French toast was the best I’ve had in my life, it melts in your mouth. My friends and I came back twice & tried several items from the menu and each was spectacular. The saying “I’d kiss the cook” isn’t enough here, you will want to marry her! 5 star! Super “French toast”! Nice atmosphere, fluffy -almost pudding texture inside, edge was crispy - home made bacon got nice rosemary hint - have it with maple syrup - our mouth were super happy with texture and sweet savory taste 😋 oh and don’t forget to try the An butter sandwich too! It’s extremely delicious! Expect to spend around ¥2,000–¥5,000 per person. A cozy gem where simplicity meets flavor.

Neatly tucked away down a side street. It’s small, quaint and very Japanese cool. Here you will find some delicious food, coffee and ambiance that is renowned in Japan. Got there early and were greeted by a lovely lady who sat our party of 6 no issues. I’d imagine if you get there later you’ll wait as there were people waiting outside. I double meal’d it. Went the French toast and a croque madam as the avo was sold out. The chef has a special touch, French toast is a winner with the cheese and maple syrup and bacon combo, the croquet madam was balanced and the bechamel super tasty. Both were sensational. Coffee was cold drip and the rest of the boys loved their meals too. Highly recommend!

Highly recommend getting the French toast and bacon, it was SO good. If you sit at the bar you can also watch the workers prepare the food, which we enjoyed doing as well. Would be tough to have a group of more than 4 people, they can’t really accommodate large groups, so keep that in mind

Bistro Rojiura is a very cool little breakfast spot tucked away in a Shibuya back alley. The French toast is crispy on the outside, somewhat gooey on the inside, and absolutely delicious, even without syrup. The bagel with cream cheese, shredded salmon, and tomato jam is a savory treat, though there were a few too many sprouts for my liking. Both items make for a great breakfast treat, but I would argue that the options were a little too small for the price.

Pâtisserie & Chocolat Del'immo Tokyo Midtown Hibiya is renowned for its exquisite French-style cakes and chocolate treats that change with the seasons, offering a variety of tempting parfaits and sweets throughout the year. One of their specialties is the Melange Fruits parfait, highly recommended by visitors. While some find the prices relatively high compared to similar places, others appreciate the beautifully arranged seasonal parfaits despite their higher cost.
The hot chocolate is quite delicious that I ordered the same on the second visit. That parfait is delicious too, but not exceptional delicious. The ambience is good to have a good time alone or with friends. Overall a bit more pricey but it is worth a visit if one is around a area and want to enjoy the cafe vibe and drinks

Visited mid September 2024 The parfaits were beautifully arranged but the taste was quite ordinary, nothing stood out much. The muscat parfait was much more expensive (around ¥3,000) than a regular parfait (around ¥2,000). You get a ¥200 discount on a drink excluding alcohol if you order it with the parfait. The drinks we got were specialty coffee and hot chocolate chai at around ¥900 each before discount. The bill came out at almost ¥7,000 for two people. Didn’t take too long to get our orders. Probably once was enough.

OCT 2024 (Re-visit) Had the waguri seasonal parfait for late night dessert. The restaurant was busy but was able to get a table straight away and the parfait took about 10 minutes to arrive which was pretty fast. Presentation was beautiful and the chestnuts and mont blanc cream were very tasty. It was paired with blondie chocolate components which added a neutral sweetness to complement the chestnut flavor; as well as yuzu for a contrasting and refreshing citrus note. APRIL 2023 Visited after dinner hours and it was very busy but fortunately I got a table without waiting. The seasonal parfait was beautifully arranged with so many components, so the price was much higher than the standard parfaits on the menu. Taste wise it was pretty good, but nothing stood out particularly. Also had the specialty coffee which didn't have much depth of flavor. Service was attentive and the parfait took a reasonable amount of time to arrive.

Tokyo Midtown Hibiya is one of those higher-end shopping malls housed in a skyscraper. There are several of them around Ginza, and we were drawn to this one because hey, it was parfait time! We had just walked out of the Imperial Hotel where we started feeling the need for something sweet and fruity. I found this spot on Google Maps, and my husband and I didn't hesitate. There were a lot of fancy premade pastries and desserts on display, so we knew we hit the right place. It was busy though we got lucky in securing a table immediately just as we saw people starting to queue outside. We started with a couple of the ¥759 Iced Caffe Lattes which came with a yummy flat of chocolate. My husband went conservative with his dessert order, the ¥858 Gran Pistache, but it was deceptively lush upon first bite. It turned out to be a bombe made with milk chocolate and strawberry ice cream and cherry jelly layered on top of a pistachio pandienne covered with a thick pistachio mousse. I found it rather dense but he finished it off, no problem. Of course I went for a classic parfait. It was appropriately named for me, the ¥1,980 Royal Fruity. It was quite a production with strawberries, pistachios, and orange slices anchored by chocolate sauce and topped by scoops of royal milk tea and lemon ice cream and accented by premium chocolate pieces. It was what I wanted even though it probably wasn't what I needed, but hey, it was parfait time! FOOD - 4 stars...fancy desserts, quite scrumptious AMBIANCE - 4 stars...packed but well organized SERVICE - 3.5 stars...a bit harried but quite efficient TOTAL - 4 stars...when is it not parfait time?

A beautifully crafted parfait —lovely to look at, though the taste didn’t quite leave a lasting impression. Still, it’s a visual treat. The only downside was how tricky the place was to find.

Visited this place while looking for a cafe but ended up having a parfait. There was a long waiting and my friend explained this place was featured on a popular TV show that explains the hype. The prices for the drinks and parfait are quite high as compared to other similar places. We tried the raspberry parfait which had different layers of berries, jelly, sorbet, ice cream and chocolate - and was quite delicious overall. However it wasn’t extraordinary that would make me want to go back for the same.

Sawamura Hiroo Bakery and Cafe is a stylish bakery and cafe located on the second floor of Hiroo plaza. It offers a variety of Danish and French-style pastries, as well as burgers, sandwiches, and breakfast options like B&E on toast. The atmosphere is lively with big windows overlooking the street, making it a great spot for breakfast. The staff is friendly, and they have good coffee in different sizes. Additionally, they offer lunch dishes besides patisserie items.
I have discovered Sawamura while I was walking in Hiroo, it's located on the second floor of Hiroo plaza just beside the station. The bakery is offers various options and types of bread and they serve lunch and other dishes as well not only patisserie. The drinks are nice and come in different sizes. The atmosphere of the place is lively since it has big windows overlooking the street which I like because it makes it sunny in the morning and nice place to have breakfast. I ordered a Mocha and my partner ordered a cappuccino, both were tasty but the mocha was a bit sweet. I also ordered a chocolate framboise with raspberry and croissant and they were delicious! I totally recommend the place for those who are looking for a quite place and quick bite!

Nice place to have a posh breakfast (therefore quite pricey). Lots of natural light coming from the big windows and the overall atmosphere is very lively. There's a big round table with some power outlets. But no wifi is quite unreasonable these days. Will come back to try their pastries.

Good coffee and tasty pastries. Find a spot to sit before you order

Had a cheese burrito that wasn't really a burrito at all in the western sense but it was really nice. Heaps of cheese and bacon inside wrapped up in some sort of bread that was more like a crepe. Coffee is good but as usual in Japan the beans are way over roasted but their baristas know what they are doing. They also serve Bonsoy for soy lovers like myself. The crossaint wasn't very fresh and quite hard whicj was a disappointment considering they are a bakery. The panini was nice too.

Nice and friendly staff. Coffee is good. This is medium coffee. Prices are $$ but it is a little high-end. One area for recharging your phone. Which good. An area with books for you to read. Music is nice and relaxing like Jazz and blues. They do breakfast as well. B&E on toast and other options. Bread products as well. Some very cute small size rolls and very delicious looking items. It’s just a same I couldn’t find a nice little treat to eat with my cup of coffee.eg a cookie or scone.

Riverside Club offers a trendy setting with wood and leather accents, serving refined European-inspired dishes all day. It's a great spot to unwind after exploring the Meguro River, offering plenty of power outlets and free wifi. The breakfast menu is available on weekends from 8am (10am on weekdays), while the all-day menu features burgers, avocado toast, pasta, and salad bowls.
Came for lunch and the vibes in this place are 10/10. Super nice interior and stylish looking spot right by the Meguro River. Lunch entrees come with soup, salad, and a drink and portions seemed generous. We overordered by also a getting desserts lol but the parfait was great! Note: French toast is more like pancakes but still tasty.

Great presentation, lovely atmosphere, but very pricy for the quality of food and service you’re getting. Some of the dishes were very tasty, like the Hungary Foie Gras Poêlé, 3rd on their course menu. Others, like roast beef, 6th on their course menu, was very average. The texture was a bit rubbery and very difficult to chew. Not what you’d expect from wagyu, and certainly not worth the ¥12,000 per person price tag. The staff clearly varied in experience. The one who served our wine was friendly and helpful, but the one who served our food was cold and timid, and spoke so softly we could barely hear him. Speaking of the wine, I’d say it was below average as well. If you like the look of their interior, I’d recommend you to just come for their coffee, since they do run a cafe as well.

Terrible pasta of the day that my wife had. They used dried shrimp that was extremely fishy. Little other flavour. I had the hamburger pasta with tomatoe sauce that tasted like it was squeezed out of a can od chef boyardee. It did have a nice atmosphere and service was good.

All dishes are well designed in terms of flavor and texture. Ambience is perfect for this cold season in Tokyo. Definitely a gem
Tossaporn J — Google review
The atmosphere is really peaceful and there’s tables that are bug enough to set out a laptop or a notebook to get some work done. The food wasn’t bad, but considering the price, I would have liked to see more substantial portions.
Maya S — Google review
The atmosphere is perfect with some plants and good music. We can see sole custermer, not only couples and friends, you can use WIF I I think you should come here in sukura seasons! Very close to meguro river, but bit far from nakamehuro station.

Great space with an amazing Buddha Bowl (I think there’s also a steak version?). Coffee is decent enough and music is usually good too.

The quality is there and the place is spacious and relaxed. The portions and pricing of those portions feel a bit bananas though.

TiMi is a charming bakeshop with a cozy, countryside-inspired ambiance that offers a delectable selection of artisanal cakes, buns, and sandwiches. The owner's intention behind the name TiMi is to provide patrons with the perfect indulgence for unwinding and enjoying some personal time. While not considered budget-friendly, visitors rave about the delicious offerings such as the mocha muffin and seasonal cherry pie which perfectly balances sour and sweet flavors.
Lovely bakery, pastries are freshly made and not too sweet, absolutely delicious.

Nice bakery. Not cheap but tasty baked goods. Mocha muffin was delicious, tasted just like mocha. Seasonal cherry pie was very good, too. Sauer and sweet, perfect combo. The baked tiramisu was tasty but I am not sure it tasted any thing like tiramisu, more like a brownie. Their lunch deals good look, too, haven't tried them yet, though.

(Translated by Google) They accept cashless payments, including contactless payment. I visited on a weekday at lunchtime. They have several lunch sets, and also takeout items that are served quickly. The photo shows a takeout set of your choice of sandwich, today's deli, and sweets for 1,200 yen. Not only was the portion size impressive, but I was also impressed by how delicious the bread itself was. The tortilla (Spanish omelette) is also delicious, and the bread is topped with a delicious sauce? Or tartar? that made it all the way to the end. If you're in the area, I highly recommend giving it a try. Vegetarian restaurant
Locale is a charming and intimate farm-to-fork European-style eatery that offers a cozy atmosphere and delicious dishes. The bistro is adorned with rustic wooden fixtures, woven baskets, and fresh produce on display. Chef Katy Cole warmly welcomes guests and prepares organic meals sourced from small farms in Hokkaido, Ehime, and Kochi.
Absolutely adore this place. Love what chef Katy is doing with farm to table here in Tokyo and working with local farmers to bring fresh ingredients to an ever changing menu. Stepping into her restaurant and seeing the kitchen really brought me back to dining at Chez Panisse. Loved the vegetable forward flavors and focus on letting the ingredients themselves shine through. Wine selection was quite nice as well. Highly recommend!

Lovely little spot for brunch, offering delicately prepared dishes that, while rooted in staple Western flavors, feel light and refined. The shop itself is quite small and has become very popular, so I’d highly recommend making a reservation in advance to secure a spot! (Even though the reservation system is a bit annoying because it’s through tablecheck.com and you have to do a 1,000¥ deposit per person in case you cancel or don’t show up to your reservation. But showing up without a reservation can take a bit of waiting!)
L. — Google review
Finally made it out to Locale. I loved the fresh, California cuisine. Super tasty dishes with lots of yummy veggies and great seafood. Chefs table was great. Awesome to watch Katy and the team work their magic!
Miles W — Google review
There was only one small negative that I had with Locale and that was no sous chef in the kitchen. Beside chef Katy in the kitchen, there were two waitresses but they can only help chef Katy placing the foods on the plates, but i had no complaints about those two ladies. Despite the negative that I just mentioned, I think this place is worth to visit many time in a year cause the foods were that good. Every dishes were easily 10 out of 10 for me, and those cherry tomatoes in some of those dishes were just amazing, they were sweeter than normal cherry tomatoes, not in a sugary way but full of flavors. I think organic ingredients helped a lot cause chef Katy let the ingredients shine by themselves therefore she had less work to do. It was a amazing dinner and I am looking forward to come again in brunch time and for another dinner
Masanobu Y — Google review
One sunny morning in early February, my wife and I trained out to Meguro for brunch at the Locale. To put it simply, it was delicious, quite arguably one of the best brunches I’ve had in Tokyo. The avocado toast with egg was my favorite, which is surprising since I’m not a big avocado toast fan. The commodore was a fascinating twist to eggs Benedict. The banana pancake was yummy and quite substantial. The ingredients for all three dishes were of high quality. The staff was friendly, dedicated to their craft, and willing to offer suggestions and answer our innumerable questions. I look forward to trying dinner sometime in the near future!!
Matthew S — Google review
Small little brunch place that offers high quality dishes that have a unique twist in either ingredients or preparation. You can literally watch the team make your food in front of you, and you can see how carefully and with love for the food they do it. It‘s a bit of a wait since the place is popular and offers limited seating but it‘s worth the wait - once you‘re inside, the order is processed quickly. We had the wagyu burger and the sour note of the salad balanced out the fatty meat patty perfectly.
Linh M — Google review
Chef Katy and her team were such a dream. I moved to Tokyo a few months ago from NYC and many spaces are a little intimidating to me, but from the start Locale felt like a welcoming and friendly cozy space that I felt very comfortable at and that I’ll def be returning to. I had heard about the place from a few people and knew there’d be a long line / that you’d need reservations, but I got lucky the night before and found some open reservations for 1 so I took it as a sign to finally go. I got the iced coffee ☕️ and banana 🍌 pancakes - hands down the best I’ve ever had. They were the perfect texture of crispy exterior and fluffy interior. Savory from the butter which was balanced out with the sweet bananas. Portion size was just right too. For sure want to come back to try other items on the menu 💛 Everyone was so attentive and kind; I loved the atmosphere here. There was a mix of local Japanese folks and foreigners who either live here or are visiting.

Great experience. Staff are very attentive and welcoming. The concept of the restaurant is locally grown farm produce. Food is very tasty and they have a good selection of wines too. Authentic Japanese restaurant

Sotoroku is a restaurant located on the lobby level floor of Hotel Blossom Hibiya, offering stunning views of Shimbashi and Hibiya. The 18th-floor setting provides an impressive backdrop for dining, with large windows showcasing the cityscape. The restaurant specializes in soba made from buckwheat flour imported from Kyushu and serves original Japanese cuisine dishes.
Sotoroku is the hotel restaurant of the Hotel Blossom Hibiya. It is located on the lobby level floor, which has a great view of Shimbashi and Hibiya. The interior is nice, with big windows offering a great view. The staff is not very friendly and speak little English, which is unusual in a hotel in Tokyo nowadays. In addition, the service is pretty poor compared to other restaurants in this price range (expensive). The food, however, is very good. We tried lunch and dinner and were very happy with both. The sake sampler at dinner was nice, but the pour very stingy. Interestingly, the restaurant doesn’t even provide cotton napkins for dinner. We saw one table being offered cloth napkins, but all other tables had cheap paper napkins. This, in addition to the average quality of service, kind of took down the experience one notch. We recommend visiting one of the may restaurants around Shimbashi station instead. The view won’t be as good but the food will be as good. And the service very likely better.

Get the fried oysters! They are the best I've had. The rest was "good", not great. Drinks were so-so. Prices were about what you would expect in a place like this in this location.
Shawn S — Google review
Advertised time says they stop serving/taking orders at 9:30PM and that you must arrive at least 10 minutes before then. We arrived at 8:50 and they turned us away. You should consider the true closing time to be 8:30PM and not 10:30PM then, as their service does not match what was advertised online nor on site at the property. Very upsetting.
Katrina G — Google review
Horrible service! I will definitely not recommend anyone to attend this restaurant especially foreigners! Arrived 08:45pm and wait wait and wait til 21:15 pm (bear in mind there were lots of empty tables!!) and then tell us there is only salad left. What’s time point to state your last order is way later but you just don’t want to serve customers? What a stupid lie to tell you there weren’t any food left in the kitchen, apart from salad? They just don’t want us to delay them finish work!!
Manda L — Google review
The worst service I’ve experienced in Japan and I’ve been traveling in this lovely country for the past week. Such a disappointment considering how friendly the Japanese people have been. The food wasn’t terrible, but the staff, mainly the manager and waitress, both had the most sour attitude. I didn’t engage much with them, but clearly they are unhappy with their job or something else. I am staying at the hotel and would not recommend dining here for lunch or dinner.
Louisa B — Google review
They have one single restaurant for the hotel, and it’s closed for a private party :-/ Their breakfast servings end 9:30 am on a Weekend. They must have no love for the night owls 🥺
Eray B — Google review
Although this restaurant is open until 10pm you need to order your food by 9.30 and we were reminded of such a couple of times as we got to the restaurant about 9.10 . We were also served a small starter that we did order and which we think was added to our bill when we came to settle our hotel bill at the end of our holiday, but we chose not to contest this. There was only one other couple in the restaurant so not really any atmosphere. The food we ordered was served promptly and was very good, tasty and hot.
Becky H — Google review
Unfortunately I had a bad experience at Sotoroku. From beginning to end, this restaurant exhibited so many flaws that impacted my experience with them. The staff is very rude and unfriendly - from the hosts to the waiters - the energy was heavy and they all looked sad and angry. The worst part of it though was that I got ill from eating the food here. I ate nothing all day but breakfast here and the food in the buffet was subpar. Despite a wide selection of items - they’re all cheap and it shows: the pastries, the veggies and dried goods sold are all bad quality. Some hot items were lukewarm and I got ill from eggs that were not properly held. Finally, you could easily find better eats in Roppingi for what you pay here: $30 per person did not make this place worthy at all. Avoid!

After visiting some excellent cocktail bars in Tokyo, I was excited to visit Trunk Bar. It’s a casual setting with counter service. Cocktails are priced fairly high (¥2000+). Cocktails were indeed delicious and music was on point but I didn’t think there was anything particularly unique about this place, especially when compared to SG Club down the street where service and vibe are next level for comprobable pricing.

Espresso martini was great, but pricey. Place is cozy, but still cool. Great place for having a drink with a date/friend. Early Friday evening wasn’t too busy.
T-M T — Google review
My experience here was meh. I came shortly after they opened on a weekday morning and was “greeted” by a female non-Japanese staff who seemed like she wanted to be somewhere else. There were lots of do’s and don’t. You have to order from the drink menu despite the row of bottles on the shelf. They won’t take cash. My “hot” Irish coffee was lukewarm and lacked flavor. I give it a two stars overall (not less) for the chill atmosphere and actually serving drinks in the morning. With the prices at nosebleed level though, I won’t come back.

World Breakfast Allday is a cozy restaurant that has been serving breakfast from around the world all day for the past 10 years. The owner, Ken Kimura, was inspired by his experiences at a guest house and wanted to recreate the diverse breakfast scenarios he encountered. The cafe changes its menu every two months to focus on traditional breakfasts from specific countries, offering an ever-changing array of international dishes and beverages.
This is such an amazing idea for a restaurant, and it was executed perfectly. It is such a cozy atmosphere and the food was delicious. The portions are also very generous. We got the breakfast from Taiwan and Georgia. They had a handout that told you all about the meal and the cultural context. It was fantastic. We got there about 15 minutes before it opened and were first in line. I would recommend getting there early, as a line formed quick, and there are not many seats.

Such a cool restaurant concept! Bringing together different cultures through cuisine is a beautiful experience and Taste The World executes it perfectly. They rotate international dishes and always offer American, English, and Taiwanese breakfasts, as well as a huge variety of international beverages and side dishes. They were sold out of the Uzbek breakfast by late morning (11:30), so if you want to try the rotating main dish, you should arrive early. We had the English breakfast, churros, paxlava (Uzbek dessert), Cola Cao, and ginger chai tea. All delicious and incredibly fresh tasting! On a late Monday morning, we waited about 30 minutes for a table but food arrived promptly after being seated. The staff was all very friendly and helpful, answering any questions we had and even making adjustments to the meal. I highly recommend enjoying a meal here as your tastebuds will be teleported to the totally unique culinary flavors of a special country. We look forward to eating here again during our next trip to Japan!

We enjoyed a hearty breakfast at this cafe in Ginza. We were able to walk in on a weekday soon after they opened. The restaurant is small and only has 2 tables (one being large so you may be sitting next to a stranger). They have 3 permanent breakfast options (English, American and Thai) and then one rotating menu. I was lucky enough to try the Turkish breakfast which was excellent! I was a little skeptical as I haven’t had that before but it was very good. I ate every bite!
Elaine B — Google review
The price for what you get is not worth it in my opinion. The food is nothing special and the place is super tiny! We got the American breakfast. The pancakes were paper thin, the pancakes were pretty small and we barely got any breakfast potatoes. We paid around $35 dollars for two meals and two coffees. It might look like a big plate but the plates are rather small. The pancakes and coffee had good flavor. We were satisfied but not full. If you’re hungry this might not be the place to go. The staff were nice and courteous. We felt rushed because there’s very limited space and the line outside had grown. Wouldn’t come again.

Great brunch place that offer international food and it introduces new countries every few months. The place is very small so expect to wait to get a seat especially a big group. I recommend the American with scrambled very tasty and Turkish breakfast.
Ahmad A — Google review
We are a family of 4 (two adults, two kids). We came here on a Saturday morning. I waited in line at 8:59 and got in at 9:57. Practically an hour wait, because we wanted to sit together. We were offered if we’d like to sit separately, in which case we could have been sat about 5 minutes earlier. There was a sign at the table to keep your meal to within 90 minutes during busy periods. Food arrived quickly: the first plate arrived within 5 minutes of us sitting down. 🍽️ Turkish Breakfast: we were especially excited to have menemen and borek. If you’ve tried the real deal in Turkey or any Turkish breakfast place in Europe, you will probably be disappointed like us. If your tastebuds have not been spoiled by authentic Turkish food, this is a good place for “exploring new cultures” as other reviews mentioned. 🍽️ Taiwanese Breakfast: the purple rice fantwan was tasty (the youtiao inside could have been fresher). The soy milk soup (shen doujiang) was excellent. Dan bing (egg cake) had cheese which was a surprise twist. Overall, I won’t be sad to have this meal again, which is reminiscent of our month in Taipei in February. 🍨 Churros: good fresh churros, good chocolate sauce. 🥤 Turkish coffee and Limonata were the surprise hits! Both were excellent. Our empty plates were cleared promptly. We were out by 10:26 as per the receipt. We spent 30 mins in the store. While waiting outside, we saw customers who sat around chatting after their meal (their empty dishes weren’t cleared promptly) despite the queue outside extending to the end of the block. Maybe they had not reached their 90 mins. Not sure what the customs is in Japan for sitting around while other people are standing in line outside. In my country, that’s called “taking the piss”.

Owl Cafe Tokyo, located near Ikebukuro Station's West Exit, offers a serene setting for visitors to interact with and photograph various owl species. The experience includes the opportunity to pet and feed the owls, as well as engage with other animals like lucky owls, white snakes, and hedgehogs. This animal cafe is part of a growing trend in Tokyo where tourists can enjoy hands-on experiences with different creatures such as penguins and hedgehogs.
It was a remarkable experience that we could spend some quiet time with owls. The booklets about owls are informative, that also made me see owls from a very different perspective. I felt love with Charlie the one year old baby owl on my first sight. He enjoyed me talking to him softly. He kissed me on my cheek. Thanks to my son, he booked it ahead before we landed in Tokyo. We as a family enjoyed the experience a lot. The owners were very kind and we even got a family picture with the owls at the end. A Highly recommend place for those who love animals and appreciate a quality family time.

I had the pleasure of visiting an owl cafe, and it was honestly one of the most memorable experiences! You can tell that the owls are very well-cared for especially with peaceful, soothing atmosphere they are in. The caretakers were incredibly kind and knowledgeable, making the whole experience feel personal and special. If you're in Japan, this is a must-visit! It’s an unforgettable way to connect with nature and animals in a responsible, gentle environment. Highly recommend! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Amazing Experience!! We got the vip session, the staff were very kind and have a very high level of service. We got to see all of the owls and the staff helped us to handle and hold the owls. They were all so cute!! Took many pictures and also got to feed them! The owls were also able to do small tricks like flying back to their own spots. Highly recommended!!
Bryant L — Google review
The owl cafe is located on a quiet street. If you need to use the restroom go before hand or at the Lawson up the street. There are seats outside to await your reservation and books to read to learn about the owls and owls in general. Before you go in it can be good to identify if there are 1-2 owls you want to hold. They will take one photo of you with an owl and you can take as many as you like with your phone. It is a very quiet place so only whispering and slow movements. There are owls everywhere! This is not a place to pet animals. It’s more of observe, hold, and a gentle tap on their heads. You can definitely tell the staff love the animals and take great care of them. The place is clean. A few of the owls will glide back to their perches and a few will make some vocalizations. Most sit quietly.

We had such a wonderful time at Owl Cafe! We spent a lot of quality time with the owls, and they were all so nice and seemed really happy. It was clear that the owls here are well-cared for. Our group had a lovely time meeting our new owl-friends. They were all well-behaved and delightful, except Ramen, who (hoo?) was still a delight, but refused to sit anywhere else but my husband's head. Note: this did not seem to hurt my husband or Ramen as Ramen's talons are also well-kept.

My husband and I booked the private owl experience here and it was even more wonderful than we expected. We got to hold so many different owls for about an hour, and took May photos. The owners were so kind and terrific. The owls were well-cared for calm. One of the highlights, if not THE highlight, of our trip to Tokyo.

Our visit to the Owl Cafe Tokyo was nothing short of extraordinary. This was an amazing and truly unique experience that left a lasting impression on us. We booked a private session, which allowed for a calm and intimate atmosphere—enhanced by the soothing sounds of Mozart playing softly in the background. The caretakers were incredibly kind and knowledgeable, making the experience both educational and heartwarming. We had the rare opportunity to hold each of the owls and take plenty of photos. It was a peaceful, up-close encounter that felt both respectful and magical. Two owls in particular stole our hearts: Pineapple, a small and chill owl who sat contentedly on my knee, and Dragon, whose playful personality had everyone laughing. Each owl had its own charm, and it was clear they were well cared for and loved. If you're visiting Tokyo and looking for a serene, one-of-a-kind animal experience, I highly recommend the Owl Cafe.

If you find yourself wandering around Asakusa, make sure to stop by Washoku Gyuuna Yadoki Asakusa, a delightful Japanese restaurant just a short stroll from Asakusa Station. This charming eatery specializes in eel and wagyu beef, offering an authentic taste of Japan. The breakfast menu features the "Today's Onigiri Set," which includes two types of rice balls accompanied by salad, pickles, and a comforting beef soup—perfect for starting your day.
I had such a great time at this place! The food was honestly amazing, way better than I expected. I went for a half-size portion, thinking it’d be tiny, but it was surprisingly filling even though it looked small at first. The vibe in there was super cozy and just right, perfect for chilling. Plus, the staff were so friendly, made the whole experience even better. Definitely coming back for more!

so yummy! everything was so delish , especially the beef. we had to order more as my family and I are pigs and we all wanted more.Clean and nicely air conditioned (if you are visiting during summer). Highly recommend! Staff was friendly and helpful.

I was looking for a traditional Japanese-style breakfast near Senso-ji and stumbled upon this amazing restaurant! The menu is in Japanese with photos, but there’s also an English-translated version available on an iPad at the table, making it easy to browse and order. We ordered the half-size grilled eel rice and the half-size wagyu beef rice. Both included soup and a small plate of pickled vegetables. Everything was cooked to perfection—the eel was flavorful and delicious even without the heavy sauce often used in the US, and the wagyu quite literally melted in my mouth. The seating was spacious, clean, and comfortable, and the service was excellent. A wonderful find near the temple and highly recommended!

We came here for breakfast at 10 o’clock 🥣. The dining environment was very clean and bright, and the food was absolutely delicious 😋.

We had the eel and beef set, together with a skewer of beef tongue, a skewer of eel liver and a bowl of beef tendon. It was really delicious! We especially love the beef tendon!
Anson W — Google review
Good is decent. I think the unagi is delicious. Beef is a bit tough. But frankly not really worth the money as the meat is very little in comparison to the rice portion. Also, in Japan, you definitely can get much better value than this. My big issue is that many of the positive reviews here are probably because they provide incentive for good reviews. Plus point for having baby chair because that's not a given in Tokyo

Fruit parlor
Dessert restaurant
Fruit Parlor Kajitsuen Tokyo, specifically the Yaekita Shokudo branch in Meguro, is a haven for fruit enthusiasts. The restaurant takes fruit seriously, storing it in a temperature-controlled warehouse to ensure it's served at its peak. While the location within Tokyo Station may be slightly inconvenient, the menu offers an array of delectable treats such as Japanese-style strawberry parfait and mouthwatering fruit cream cake.
A nice stop for a fruit parfait or fruit with pancakes. The portions were large and tasty. The service was very slow, but the staff were polite. Food was more expensive because of the location. Overall, a nice place for dessert.
Kimberly S — Google review
It was very busy when we visited. The kids were drawn in by the colorful cake displayed in the display fridge. The tables were located close to one another and felt really cramp while I was there. We ordered some fruit cakes and the prices were out of this world, too expensive in our opinion. We tasted it and don’t really think it’s different or better than some of the other brands of fruit cakes in Japan. Thus the prices in our opinion wasn’t warranted. Everything else were also expensive.
Gator — Google review
Very expensive dessert selection. Price of a parfait is almost 2.5 bowl of ramen. Got seated but no one came to take order. Tried to call the water/waitress over for at least 10 mins. Got serve with food and left. Food was average, at least the fruits were fresh. Nothing special or I guess I am not really a dessert person so I didn’t enjoy it much.

Peach parfait was very juicy come with fresh cream and soft serve icecream. Very good in hot summer day A bit pricy but huge serve. I think it around 2 big peach per portion tho. (3000yen) *sometimes strawberries not from Japan pls ask first because for me if you want a good fruit it's better from Japan
Pensiri S — Google review
Honestly the items are quite high-priced given the food, but it is located conveniently near train station and opens until later than most places. Ingredients used were quite fresh and the service staff was quite nice as well.
Kenny C — Google review
The definition of the word “under-delivering”. For the price you’re paying for very sour fruits, with a minimum of one order per pax. The fruits are way too sour for something this expensive. I’d rather head down to a department store and buy the takeaway ones.
Xavier — Google review
I visited Fruit Parlor Kajitsuen during my last few days in Tokyo (I was also staying at the Tokyo Station Hotel). I’m always amazed at the fruit delicacies in Japan as it always expensive in the grocery stores. I ended up going for a slice of their three berry cake. At 1,880 yen it was pricey but that’s typical for the location. It was so yummy with the different kinds of fruit inside. It was also baked that day so it’s as fresh as it could be. Just take a look at the photos and tell me you’re not drooling at the mouth.

Nice to have the parfait of both white and regular strawberries. A bit on the expensive side. Portion is big. I would recommend sharing unless this is your main meal. Drinks (paid) are self-served with good choices of fruit tea.

This was one of my favorite restaurants while visiting Japan. It was delicious and cheap. You order from the kiosk on the tables and when they call your number you pick up your from from the window. They have green tea and water available for free :) My daughter and I ordered the pork fillet cutless meal which had plenty of food and was very tasty.

Sadly not really made for foreigners (meaning that don't speak or read Japanese). I had to Google translate everything to figure out. Food was good and service relatively fast. You need to scan your ticket and do the payment by yourself (thank to the other customer that gave me a hand on the screen) Overall an interesting experience if you want to feel immerged in the culture. ✅ I needed to try a family style restaurant

Such a great place to dine! There is so much variety in the set menus and it makes me love Japanese food so much more. We ended up adding fries, sausage, and an egg omelet which was worth the price. My travellers and I enjoyed this eatery for our breakfast very much and we are very suprised at how delicious it was. If you are looking for a late night snack, quick lunch, or casual dinner, give this place a try! There is divided seating available for solo travellers as well.

Great food, good value for money, quick and friendly service. Gontran Cherrier Tokyo Aoyama Shop is the first establishment opened by master baker Gontran Cherrier in Japan. Known for using Japanese ingredients like miso and yuzu in his creations, this fourth-generation boulanger offers unique breads such as curry bread with mushrooms exclusively at the Tokyo shop. The bakery has gained popularity for its fusion of French baking techniques with local Japanese flavors, evident in bestsellers like matcha green tea scones and pain au chocolat.
This place is good looking bakery in front of the Aoyama university. They have nice French bakeries looks very yum! There are some tables upstairs and outdoor. I just ordered café because the day was super cold. It is nice place to have a break with delicious bread! Enjoy!

The pastries taste really good but the staff ruins everything. Each time I've been there, the staff was so mean and unhelpful. Their attitude was almost condescending. I avoid going there just because of the lack of kindness. Also the system is very confusing. There is nothing that says if we have to sit first or buy first or if we have to follow a specific order.

Eat first worry later.. no harm is done anyway with indulgence in such delicacies, appealing to eyes, delectable and appetising bread to mouth, aromatic to nose, awakening all our sensory. Indeed, there’s a wide selection to test your brain & mouth. Just grab any of these bakes and I am confident the taste won’t disappoint you.

French pastries and bread! Big selection of croissants. I went for the matcha and red bean croissant and it was absolutely delicious!! I also picked up an earl grey bread loaf, pistachio pastry, and melon pan. I love that they are incorporating some Japanese flavors and breads in their bakery!! Can’t wait to come back.
Monica — Google review
You can eat lunch on the second floor only. If you just use the bakery on the first floor, you are able to eat outside which I recommend highly. I got the vegan burger which was just OK. The bread and sauce were excellent, but the pumpkin "meat" wasn't great. At first it was, but I think it's just too much pumpkin for my taste. Maybe you're gonna have a better time with it. The fruit/vegetables juice/smoothies are great! Get them! Especially that Apple/Basil one! Now to the best part though: The staff is really friendly (especially on the first floor) and the bread is amazing. I got a croissant and a Pain au Chocolat. The way they make and bake it is great. I would probably bake it a little bit less long, but either way, the chocolate is excellent and the folding of the butter dough superb. My only complaint is regarding the Melon Pan. It is way too sweet (and small, considering the price). I think this one needs more adjusting!
Neil E — Google review
This bakery is something special! Everything is delicious, and the prices are not cheap but also not outrageous. I highly recommend their pistachio cake and carrot cake, although these might be seasonal items. Pro tip: The drink menu on the first floor may not be as diverse as on the second floor, but the cappuccino you get on the first floor is really good. Plus, you can still sit on the second floor and enjoy it.

Charming little hidden gem of a coffee shop. The matcha was excellent, and the granola yogurt (just 250 yen) was a pleasant surprise. We were looking for coffee early in the morning and this was the only one open- so happy we went in! My wife took one spoon of the corn chowder and said ‘Wow!’. Enough said! Also had the Egg Sandwich which was delicious. Tried both the plain waffle and Earl Grey, both were great. Just lightly sweetened, not overly sweet. Egg Salad bowl was great too. Will be hard going back to my Starbucks routine in California after this. Will always be thinking of how great the breakfast is here.

I accidentally walked in when when the closed sign was up a bit after 17:00 since it that's when it's supposed to open. Still sat me down severed me. The food was good, but a bit on the pricer side. Unfortunately, they only take credit/debit cards over a certain amount, but they let me pay with card anyway. I just kind of felt like a nuisance.

!! Please, mind that the food is a bit more expensive than it is around the area. Also, they only accept card payment if you spend more than 5.000 yenes, this is not clear or i any sign in the restaurant, is something you find out on the cashier and, honestly, kinda made the experience bad for me :(

Scammers. This is definitely a tourist trap. We arrived and it was almost empty a dead give away for what was about to come but we still went in. Service was very bad only one person serving and it looked like it was her first day and only one person in the kitchen. We ordered two pizza's that didn't arrive at the same time so my partner was already finished eating by the time I got my pizza. The pizzas were small thin and very greasy. Then we asked for the check and we saw a price that didn't match the things that we ordered apparently our lemonade was 400 Yen( it isn't on the menu) each and 250 for a salad that we didn't ask for and a table reservation (we walked in 😂). So if you consider going here avoid it at all costs! I also don't trust most of the reviews here since they seem old and not recent.

(Translated by Google) When I entered the store and said I came to eat curry, the menu didn't come out, so I wonder if there are fixed types of curry? After a while, the curry was served. I came here to eat the lemon cream chicken curry and it was good. First of all, when you eat the roux, it's very rich. It's made with fresh cream and butter, so there's a sour taste from the lemon, so it doesn't taste unpleasant. The chicken is grilled so it's crispy on the outside and soft and juicy on the inside. It's a very stylish curry because it has achar so you can cleanse your palate. Thank you for the delicious curry. (Translated by Google) Previously, there was only a limited lunch menu, but recently the variety has increased and the signboard displays a variety of Japanese and Western sets (including limited-time fried oysters). In October 2025, I was at a local tonkatsu restaurant and thought, "They've started serving fried oysters soon?", but I was told they hadn't started serving them yet. Fried oysters had been on my mind all morning, so I wondered what to do and remembered the fried oysters on the signboard. For me, the best fried oysters in Kanda are at a tonkatsu restaurant nearby, but this time I had no choice. I popped in without hesitation and was able to satisfy my craving for fried oysters. The fried oyster set meal is 1,400 yen and comes with three oysters by default, but you can add more for 100 yen each when ordering this menu item, so I asked for an extra one. In terms of taste, they were just average fried oysters, and the rice was a little soft in some parts, so it wasn't my favorite, but it did help get the "fried oysters" that had been stuck in my head out of my head, so that was all that was needed. When I visited about two years ago, it was a quiet lunchtime, but this time the menu had expanded and the place was bustling with customers. There were some low ratings from foreign tourists, but I don't think you need to worry about it. They're just accumulating unnecessary stress and giving low ratings because they can only communicate in English, both in their home country and abroad. It depends on the hotel's rank, but most Japanese people generally don't have enough English proficiency to communicate on the spot, and since there's no need for it, they don't receive English conversation education. I hope foreign tourists understand this before coming to Japan. Thank you for the meal today.

Imperial Viking Sal is a renowned buffet restaurant in Japan, known for being the first of its kind in the country. The concept of all-you-can-eat buffets, referred to as 'Viking' in Japanese, was introduced by the Imperial Hotel back in 1958. The restaurant offers a sophisticated self-serve dining experience with a cosmopolitan range of roasts, stir-frys, and desserts. It is famous for its wide variety of dishes including roast beef and pastries.
We enjoyed a buffet lunch at this historic hotel where the Viking Buffet in Japan started in 1958. We found the food variety to be less than what we've experienced in other international buffet restaurants, but the quality and taste of the food were excellent. The service was exceptional, with everyone greeting us with smiles from arrival until we left. The restaurant is on the 17th floor of the Imperial Hotel Tokyo, Japan. I highly recommend visiting this restaurant and trying its Viking buffet to experience a classic dining style in an elevated setting with a view of the surroundings.
Patrick M — Google review
The variety of food is very limited, while the choices of ingredients and quality of food is also very ordinary, considering it cost 17000 yen per person. The famous main dishes, roast beef, is not as good as I would expect regarding how many people are recommending it in the reviews, it is dry, tough and tasteless, so I am very disappointed, to be honest, Sunday roast from any street pub in the UK is better than that. And about services, it’s very average service, not good enough to justify for the poor performance of the food. So in general, I feel it’s a waste of money, I have actually predicted that even before I had the meal, but still I decided to go since I thought I would regret if I don’t try it, while it’s my last night in Tokyo and so many people recommended this restaurant, eventually I am both disappointed and a dinner wasted.

As buffet goes, this is a very nice place. A ton of selections, seriously. There's Japanese, Chinese, French, and other western style dishes. I was seriously jet lagged (not slept for about 24 hrs) so didn't have much appetite, but things still tasted good. Certainly shouldn't compare to specialty places, but for folks from US, the fresh tempura can still put many trendy places at home to shame 😀 The place is spacious, and staff is very helpful (despite some language challenges), overall great experience. Not a cheap place for sure, but hey, you've got stewed abalone on the menu

Not the typical buffet, it doesn't aim to make a mountain of mediocre food, it aims to make a selection brilliantly. Many of these dishes are better than most restaurants. The savoury is delicious but save some space for dessert as the selection is magical. The restaurant is grand and beautifully furnished, and the service was impeccable.

It was very fun experiencing the first ever buffet in japan here. The food offerings are not super many but all are good. The service impeccable and the atmosphere is retro luxury. If you're a westerner this is not very exotic and may seem a bit too expensive. I liked it because of the historical and food cultural impact this had. Was like experiencing a piece of history!

We had the lunch buffet on a weekday in May 2023. Staff, service very good (like everywhere in Japan, no matter if it's a 5* or 1* place), however I think the food is for Asians/people who want to try fancy Western food. I thought they would have Japanese/Asian dishes (as well) but I guess I didn't do a proper research before booking this lunch buffet.. Anyway, the food tasted like the food in Europe, the hightlight of the lunch was the dessert table :)

Very disappointed. We’ve ordered a Cobb salad (2500 JPY) and mix sandwich. Cobb salad uses a cheap lettuce and sliced cheddar cheese. It looks like it just came out of package from seven eleven. Sandwich came with chips and again, it looked like chips came out of package. It made us miss the club sandwich at Royal Host which is a cheap family restaurant chain and their price is half of what this place charges. Staff didn’t seem so professional for a 5 star hotel. They are not bad and well meaning but based on my experience, staff at 5 star hotel usually look very sharp, on top of everything, and well dressed.

Keep having breakfast and lunch here very often. Love the service, quality, and freshness & taste of food, no matter whatever you order. Very bright and open place and love the vibe.

Breakfast review for hotel guest: Modern interior on the ground door with American dinner style interior of red walls with red circular seating with some square table seating. The food selection for breakfast is limited to a set menu for hotel guest with green breakfast vouchers. No fruits on offer for breakfast. They wanted to charge more for mushrooms in the plain omelette- ridiculous. Coffee was americano style- could have been better and the orange juice out of a carton. Food was surprisingly better than expected with the omelette being particularly good. Bacon and sausage was above average. The food at the Viking Sar on the 17th floor is much better for breakfast with a better selection.

We went in without wait during lunch. Omu rice is excellently done with tender beef. The curry rice can skip. Meat is hard and not worth to order.

The Lunch Service was professional and polite, but the space lacks any sense of atmosphere and the food portions were small, and mediocre at best. I understand I’m paying a hotel premium, but a 5 star hotel restaurant should be able to create better value for the price tag.. - ¥2,500 for a Caesar Salad which was essentially a plate of lettuce - ¥3,200 for the club sandwich which was not bad, but too small. The fries were lacking any inspiration. - ¥1,800 for a 350ml Japanese draft beer

Sakura Cafe Jimbocho, located on the first floor of Sakura Hotel Jimbocho, is a popular spot for international visitors. The cafe offers a diverse menu with options from various countries and an impressive selection of international beers. Guests can choose to dine inside or outside and enjoy the cozy atmosphere. The staff speaks English, making it convenient for non-Japanese speakers.
A small cafe in the first floor of a hotel located in a relatively obscure place in the middle of the city. If you're dining, you can get a menu from the counter and decide at your seat. All orders are made at the counter, and you have to return the dishes when you're done. The food menu had lots of choices from many countries and they have the most international beer selections I've seen. They have an all-you-can-drink softdrink menu, a few seats outside, free Wi-Fi and they accept credit cards.

The atmosphere isn’t all that bad. Since they run a hotel and the cafe at once, their customer service sometimes didn’t reach the cafe users, which was very irritating. They seem to be more welcoming towards foreigners, and seemed not to mind about the Japanese users. Plus, the tables are dirty.

DON'T GO IN HERE. Look, I don't usually leave a place without ordering anything, and especially not leave a bad review without having an honest taste of what the establishment has to offer, but the service and atmosphere was so damn bad that I have to warn you. As soon as we entered the place, it had a strong smell of curry and spices. And I get it, it is part of the menu, but I don't think a cafe should serve strong smelling dishes that could disturb other customers. The ambience was strange. Many propaganda posters in the wall. The opposite of comfy atmosphere. But the worst part definitely is the service. It's the worst I have ever experienced here in Japan. And look, I don't care about having a cheerful "Irasshaimasse!" like all the other shops here, but the least I expect is some customer service. We got in, didn't know how to order. No one came to greet us or show us a place to sit. It is damn hot outside since is summer, and I didn't want to risk ordering the wrong item so I asked about the cold drinks in the menu. The rude attendant didn't speak a word, just ignored me the first time, the second time I repeated she just looked at me and practically throwed me the menu. No thank you. With service like that I fear for my well being after eating or drinking anything at this place. I'M OUT

The food is good, not too expensive. The staff is friendly. The vibe of a hostel cafeteria, no frills. I was surprised to see many Japanese customers of various age, obviously not client of the hotel.

Not horrid but not great! The beef stew was reheated from a bag. And the service was not warm and welcoming. No one came to greet us or help order. We had to get up and place the order at the counter and pick up our food from the counter. I also found the female attendant subtly rude.

Searched for halal food! Then I came to this place where the people were very helpful and understood I wanted halal food and no alcohol! The food was great overall, and the drink was good also! The cafe is beautifully made and very comfortable. Good place to talk, work, chill & chat.

Good food, thou not best price. Convenient for those checkedin at Sakura Hotel.
Jhay G — Google review
Price for the food was very reasonable and the place was a bit cozy overall (there were only 2 other groups beside mine) it was around 8:30 PM. Two poutines, fried rice and pizza totaled 2400 Yen. Would reccommend this place for those who want a cheap eat from international cuisines.
