Ham House and Garden is a grand 17th-century mansion located in London, known for its extensive art and furniture collection as well as mature riverside gardens. Originally built by Sir Thomas Vavasour in 1610, the mansion was a hub for political activities during the Stuart dynasty. It served as a battleground for courtiers vying for influence and power, showcasing the material wealth of the time through its impressive collection of original furnishings and textiles.
Outstandingly beautiful. Lots of rooms to look with interesting history and the staff there to talk to you about it. Thoroughly enjoyed my time here. I received my tickets free from a newspaper promotion and whilst the price is a bit steep, this national trust in particular is probably worth. Gardens were interesting and nicely kept. Had some food and coffee at the cafe too which was just average.
Mr R — Google review
It was so relaxing and lovely to walk through the house. All the guides would offer knowledge and information. Highly recommend the garden tour. Seeing how the restoration process has gone since 1950; such an amazing effort that is literally bearing fruit!
Johanna P — Google review
Lovely few hours here. House and its history is very interesting. The room guides were great and gave us lots of information. Gardens are very nice and there were lots of outdoor games available to play (badminton, croquet etc). Take a walk along the river when you come out.
Caroline C — Google review
Fascinating House that sheds light on the life of significant Royalists of the 17th century. has thoughtfully designed gardens as well. Definitely worth a visit and a walk down the Thames Path. An extremely well-kept mansion with a fascinating past and exquisite architectural details. It would be more enjoyable if you were familiar with UK history. Excellent outdoor chairs for sunbathing.
Babji V — Google review
The gardens and walking paths are beautiful. However, quite a few rooms were closed to visitors. Given how much is currently accessible, the entrance fee feels rather steep unless you're a member. Outside the main grounds, there are pleasant walks along the River Thames, with moored boats and even horses nearby accessible without ticket.
P H — Google review
A fascinating historical building surrounded by extensive grounds. As the house didn't open until 12, we had plenty of time to walk round the grounds. The house was extremely interesting and I particularly enjoyed the below stairs rooms, including the bathroom! There is a cafe and shop on site, but we didn't use these. Parking was easy as there was free parking along the road ( disabled parking closer to the house ) and a free car park within easy walking distance. The River Thames is not far from the car park and also worth visiting for a walk or even to pop across to Marble Hill on the ferry.
Stephanie C — Google review
A substantial Stuart period pile built and lived in by a family with far more money than taste. Prepared to change sides and do whatever was necessary to stay on top as owners and adorn Ham House with overly elaborate furniture and many portraits of ancestors with dubious morals. Interesting garden with wonderful topiary parterre. Beautifully preserved by the National Trust and well worth seeing as a historical experience.
Donald H — Google review
Loved this house. One of the few where you get access to many of the areas. Outdoors is lovely with the gardens and other buildings. You need a decent amount of time to take everything in and the staff in the rooms were very knowledgeable.

Nestled within the Royal Botanic Gardens at Kew, Kew Palace is a charming red brick stately home with well-preserved 200-year-old kitchens. Despite being the smallest of the British Royal Palaces, its picturesque setting amidst the lush greenery of Kew Gardens makes for a breathtaking sight. Originally built in 1631 and later acquired by the Royal family, this quaint palace was once home to King George II and his three older daughters.
So much to see. A must visit. Variety of gardens to explore. The greenhouses and palm house are a must visit. There is a variety of eateries to choose from. Make sure you spend a whole day there you will still not see everything
Tony J — Google review
It's like stepping back in time to see how the royal family was living daily. The first 2 floors are very well preserved: the beds, the piano, the table where the meals were served. The last floor, on the other hand, has not been preserved at all. But the ambiance makes you feel the sadness of the family's decline.
Maria M — Google review
Beautiful palace with lots of interesting architecture and decoration. Self guided tour around the rooms . The guided tour of the kitchen. Building is brilliant too !!

Free entry- worth a visit! staff were friendly and helpful. No elevators (stairs only), however well preserved/presented and a very interesting walk around.
Winston C — Google review
Kew Palace is a fascinating and often overlooked royal residence that sits within the beautiful grounds of Kew Gardens. Steeped in history, this modest yet charming red-brick building was once the retreat of King George III and Queen Charlotte, offering a rare glimpse into the private lives of the British royal family in the 18th and early 19th centuries. Originally built in 1631 by a wealthy silk merchant, the palace was later acquired by the royal family. Its most significant period of use was during the reign of George III, especially during his bouts of illness. The intimate setting of the palace, with its preserved Georgian interiors, brings visitors closer to royal domestic life than the grand halls of other palaces allow. Inside, you’ll find beautifully restored rooms, personal artifacts, and detailed exhibits that tell stories of both royalty and caretakers. The Queen’s Boudoir and the top-floor servants’ quarters are particularly atmospheric. The entry is included with admission to Kew Gardens. Don’t miss the Royal Kitchens, just a short walk from the main house, preserved almost exactly as they were over 200 years ago. The palace is only open seasonally, usually from April to late September. The audio guides and information panels are available in several languages. In short, Kew Palace is a must-visit for anyone interested in royal history, Georgian architecture, or quiet moments of the British monarchy.
MUSTAFA F — Google review
Nice little palace in the middle of the beautiful Kew gardens. Definitely worth visit while in the gardens , got its own little garden as well.

You have to pay for a ticket to the Kew Botanical Gardens to gain access to this home. It's certainly worth a visit, the story that is contained inside that house is very interesting and worth the visit.

Marble Hill is a Palladian villa nestled in 66 acres of riverside parkland, standing as the last elegant villa built on the Thames in the 18th century. Constructed for Henrietta Howard, mistress of King George II, this historic site was designed by a circle of fashionable aesthetes including poet Alexander Pope. The interior boasts exquisite Georgian artworks and hand-painted Chinese wallpaper, offering visitors a glimpse into fashionable Georgian life.
This English heritage site, free to access, offered a wealth of history to explore during a Sunday stroll. The site became particularly captivating when you spoke to the volunteers, who brought the stories to life. There was ample green outdoor space for walking, running, and for dogs and children to play.
Saruul A — Google review
This free to visit English Heritage site can be viewed in 15-30 minutes. It’s not huge but starts with a few minute video, then able to see 6-8 recreated rooms. The volunteers were wonderful in sharing extra details and rooms interesting, with great views from the upper floors. Gardens in the back lovely as well, and cafe a two minute walk away in the former stables block. Toilets onsite at both the house and cafe. Car park is pricy but free on street parking or accessible via public transit.
Becky T — Google review
As the home of Henrietta Howard, Countess of Suffolk, Marble Hill House is as beautiful as it is inspiring as it was built entirely from the designs of the Countess herself. From tragic beginnings to being in the upper ranks of society, the Countess made the house her own and there's a lot to learn here as you take in the details, the people and the events that shaped the house as it became a staple of life in leafy Richmond. The volunteers on hand are extremely knowledgeable in every aspect of the house and the Countess, and it's all free to peruse at your leisure. Be sure to check out the garden surrounding the house where the Countess entertained her guests - it's beautiful just to take it all in. Definitely a place to visit if you happen to be in this neck of the woods.
Sadek M — Google review
Marble Hill House is looked after by English Heritage and is free entry. The house itself had a few rooms to wonder through, and the room guides seemed fairly knowledgeable. Outside there is grounds to wonder through, including gardens and an ice house. For the children there is a family guide where they can go looking for things etc, which seemed to keep our daughter entertained!

My Samoyed boy loves this beautiful historical mansion as he a rescue dog from South Korea and moved to the UK a year ago. For him its a very large dog friendly park and so peaceful. Paddy-Posong simply loves it.

Lovely stately home that’s well worth a visit. Has a small shop and beautiful lawn. Areas nearby to picnic or sit and a children’s playground about 10 minutes away near the river and to the right if you go with your back to the rear of the house.
Andy W — Google review
Marble Hill house is the former home of Henrietta Howard and is the last complete survivor of the elegant villas that bordered the Thames between Richmond and Hampton Court in the 18th century. Henrietta's story is an interesting one, born into the wealthy Hobart family of Blickling Hall in Norfolk she was the mistress of king George II who gifted her the funds to build Marble Hill house. Later the house was owned by Johnathan Peel, the brother of Sue Robert Peel and later again by the Cunard family of shipping fame. Inside the house are numerous portraits including Henrietta, George II and other influential people if the time. There is a mahogany staircase which would have been very expensive and it is believed that George II had a hand in this two. The poet Alexander Pope was a frequent visitor to Marble Hill and was thought to hold a candle for Henrietta but this was not reciprocated. He had a hand in the design of the gardens and was also able to invite his literary friends including Johnathan Swift. Eventually Pope withdrew no doubt due to the fact Henrietta was not romantically attracted to him. The house is managed by English Heritage but is currently free to enter for all. There is a car park which is free for members and chargeable for non members. There are public toilets on the ground floor of the house including an accessible toilet. Refreshments are available at the former stable block a few minutes walk from the house. The gardens and parklands are quite large and again free to all, a great place to picnic, walk your dog, exercise etc. and is close to the Thames path.

Strawberry Hill House & Garden, located in Twickenham, is a restored Gothic castle that was once the home of Horace Walpole. This impressive site is renowned for its Georgian Gothic Revival architecture and landscaped garden. The house, initially built in 1698, was transformed into a Gothic castle by Walpole between 1747 and 1792. It features Gothic rooms, towers, and battlements inspired by cathedrals and abbeys.
Lovely place to visit. For me the building,is delightfully eccentric pretend gothic architecture. That said some of the rooms inside are quite beautiful. It is well worth booking a tour. The staff are very friendly and welcoming and I was most impressed that the lady at the desk was able to speak fluently in French. The shop and cafe are lovely. The grounds are charming with some excellent child friendly activities.
Bernie K — Google review
A fascinating place for everybody interested in literature and history, but also for people with no previous knowledge about Walpole at all. The staff is incredibly helpful, with volunteers in almost every room who are ready to explain all about Walpole's "pretty bauble of a toy house on the Themse". Also very family friendly with fairy hunt especially for kids. Café also great with friendly staff. 5 stars all-round!
Annikke G — Google review
Absolutely lovely and one-of-a-kind historical home with a unique fairytale feeling. As someone who has spent a lot of time and observation in palaces, manor houses, etc. these is a quirkiness and charm here in all of the artistic details that is awe-inducing. Great place to dress up and take photos as well, plus the art exhibit featuring sewn faeries around the building and grounds is absolutely magical. Would recommend to art and history lovers!
Wan Q — Google review
I went for the temporary exhibition where the house is filled with a vast array of different floral arrangements. They were stunning and well worth the trek across London. The house itself is well worth a visit without the displays as the interiors are beautiful and the history fascinating.

This historic location is absolutely charming! ☕️🎂 Sipping coffee and indulging in delicious cake amidst the stunning architecture and rich history was a pure delight. The location exceeded all expectations, with every detail transporting me to another era. So thrilled to have visited and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a picturesque and memorable experience. A truly special spot to unwind and soak up the atmosphere!

Amazing house that has been restored back to its original Gothic look. Volunteer guides are super knowledgeable and enthusiastic. It's easy to get to the house by bus from Hampton Court so add it to your visit.

A couple of reasons for these 5 stars: 1/very interesting build full of history, 2/kind and knowledgable staff more than willing to share. We had a great time. Parking availability, nice small park to explore after the house visit.

Chiswick House and Gardens is a stunning mansion and garden complex in London, inspired by the Earl of Burlington's travels in Italy. The estate features restored gardens, statuary, and architectural elements that make it a popular venue for events and weddings. After a significant renovation, the 65-acre property reopened to the public with fragrant rose gardens, woodlands, and diverse flora.
We visited here on a glorious Sunday lunchtime in March. We couldn't find the car park (not sure if that was us or the signs just petered out) but were able to park on street as it was a weekend. The gardens were beautifully laid out and well used with lots of other visitors, families and dogs. The pathways are nicely laid out and the gardens well tended and we will have to return in May when the house is open. The cafe was great too with a good menu and delicious food and it was lovely to sit outside and eat.

Lord Burlington's Palladian fantasy, as good as anything in Vicenza or the Veneto. The main building is modeled on Palladio's Villa Rotonda. Lovely English garden with the obligatory grotto, obelisk, Roman bridge, Roman statuary, sphinxes, and other garden follies. Perfect place for reading a book or a picnic. Lots of interesting wildlife. Note the portal by Inigo Jones given to Lord Burlington.
Nils P — Google review
Can't believe we have never been here before, we live not that far away and never heard of that before. The park and gardens are really well maintained and there's loads to see. Remember to take a photo of the map so you can find your way around. The vegetable and Italian gardens are well worth a look, also a walk around the lake and cascade should be on your list!

Chiswick House & Gardens is a dreamy escape for pups and their humans. Dog-Friendly Strolls with plenty of space to wander, with off-lead areas for zoomies. 😉 Chill out by the water and spot birds and other critters. Walk around gorgeous gardens makes for a perfect city escape. Lovely Café & Pavilion to grab a coffee, relax, or have a picnic. A top spot for a peaceful, dog-friendly day out! 🌳🐾✨

That’s the first time I’m in Chiswick, and the stroll around the gardens was amazing. I felt like I was somewhere in the countryside, it was so peaceful, the air quality was outstanding. It’s a shame Chiswick House is open Thu-Sun only but I’ll definitely be back to explore it.

We bought tickets for the Ben and Jerry's Sundaes Event held over Saturday and Sunday. 12 till 10. Eat as much ice-cream as you possibly can or how much your belly can withstand. Along with 2 stages to provide music for the 10 hours of the event. There was lots going on in and around the grounds! Lots of variety of different cultures foods. Veggi chicken burgers to Gyro's and much more. If you get a chance to grab a ticket for 2026, I would definitely advise you to grab some for an Adult day out for you and your partner or maybe a friends day out!

Located in Teddington, West London, the Landmark Arts Centre is a former 19th-century church that has been repurposed to host a variety of events such as concerts, workshops, fairs, and exhibitions. The venue boasts stunning acoustics and beautiful stained glass windows and carvings. It also features a shop and gallery where visitors can find lovely artwork including craftwork made with recycled materials.
Absolutely amazing! I went to the art Autumn Exhibition over the weekend and it was my first time! All the staff was lovely and very helpful! My friend had a stall with her art work and I got a few of her paintings! Honestly this was so lovely to see, the different artists which had their own stalls and the cafe! It was a very special place to get married that we are grateful we can still go back to visit regularly. We would highly recommend to anyone considering this as their wedding venue!

Excellent venue for concerts and recitals. Stunning acoustics. Attended a concert here recently with friends. This 19th century church with excellent stained glass, windows, beautiful stonework and carvings is vastly underused. We visited the shop and gallery - lovely artwork on sale, check out the craftwork modelled with recycled tins. Photographs and greeting cards by local artists were lovely. The Sparkle Festive Fair is on from 18 Nov 2022 - 20 Nov 2022. Go check out this annual festive fair with gorgeous craft, seasonal gifts, homewares, accessories, and jewellery from over 65 exhibitors. There is parking in the churchyard and along the nearby streets. The venue deserves our support.

Richard was clear, focused and succinct throughout and instilled utter confidence, such that I don’t think we could have been better supported. We will not hesitate to turn to The Legal Partners again should we need an HR Solicitor.

Absolutely a great legal journey for me and my family with high standard professional service. My husband has worked with Legal Partners. I turned to them regarding a dispute with my employer. I was lucky to be in safe hands. The director Richard Mullett took over my stress and dealt with my case right through to the end with great care: - Richard took time to talk to me, gave me advice, explain the legal reasons and the procedure. He was always prompt to correspondences and to keep me updated. - Richard’s manner was calm, positive and professional with his expertise in HR law, and personal care for me as an individual with extra willingness to support. - With his and his team’s care and support, the results were great. I have highly recommended Legal Partner to my network and will continue to do so. My family and I will also continue to rely on Legal Partners.

We have worked closely with The Legal Partners team on a couple of tricky situations over the past year, and their professionalism and friendliness has been an incredible support to the Group. Richard, Abigail, Sian and Philippa have all been a pleasure to work with, not only do you have complete faith in their knowledge of the industry, but they conduct themselves in a very calm and measured manner providing us with comprehensive guidance as well as a clear pathway forward. For both Richmond Rugby Club and Richmond Athletic Association, we are delighted to have forged such close links with one of the leading legal businesses in the borough, and even more delighted to share a beer with them in the bar on a Saturday afternoon!

Historical landmark
Kilmorey Mausoleum, constructed in 1854 at Brompton Cemetery, is a striking grey and pink Egyptian-style structure commissioned by the 2nd Earl of Kilmorey. With a fascinating history, it was relocated twice before the Earl's passing in 1880. The mausoleum was even moved to Woburn Park with the Earl in 1862.
If you were fabulously wealthy and your soul mate died prematurely, what would do with the money? This character built a replica granite Egyptian tomb near the Thames in Richmond. His huge estate and wealth is long gone but the tomb, with him now reunited with his love, still stands in leafy suburbs.

Interesting place, a piece of local heritage and a great story behind it. Make sure you visit during Open House London as it usually is not open to public

Really interesting then you although understand it is only really open to the public. Great story and romance.

Pope's Grotto is a historic site located on the banks of the Thames at Twickenham. It is the only remaining part of Alexander Pope's villa, which was built in 1720. Although the estate was demolished and redeveloped over time, Pope remains one of Twickenham's most celebrated residents. Visitors can explore this unique attraction to learn about its historical significance and enjoy a pleasant atmosphere for lunch or drinks.
Absolutely stunning! The restoration of Alexander Pope's grotto is quite magnificent. The volunteers have done a marvelous job. I remember what the grotto looked like before they sympathetically restored it to its former glory. They told us all about the history, most of which, we didn't know. We'll done to Dawn, Sue and Geoff for our delightful insight.

My wife and I had our small wedding reception at the Pope’s Grotto on the 15th of October 2020 during the Covid 19 pandemic with the 15 guests allowed. Sorry this is a late review but just wanted to pass on our thanks to all of the staff who helped make our day very special. Best wishes Paul and Helen

First time out after lockdown. A glorious day for coffee with friends. Well looked after by staff. Considered getting a snack lunch so had a look at the menu but we all decided to give it a miss this time and return another time for lunch.

We had the roast dinner which was only average. The Yorkshire puddings were so burnt that they incredible. The young staff were nice

My son had his wedding reception at the Alexander Pope. As the mother of the groom I would not recommend it for a wedding reception. The staff was not friendly at all, they were very moany and not welcoming at all especially who I think was the manager. He did not make anyone feel welcome. Very disappointed
