Victoriei Square is a popular tourist spot in Timisoara featuring stunning Baroque-era mansions, art nouveau palaces, and an impressive Orthodox cathedral surrounding a bustling cobbled plaza. Currently undergoing renovations, visitors can expect to see improvements in the near future. The area also boasts several restaurants and shops for travelers to explore. Additionally, the square is home to an opera house that should not be missed.
Wide and long square where one can enjoy sitting on the bench looking at the greenery, flowers and beautiful colored facades. Like in a fairytale during all seasons! Both for kids and people of all ages. Everything seems authentic, no shining billboards like in other European cities. I’m sure to visit it again ❤️
Mirjana M — Google review
Fascinating architecture. We were very lucky, it was drizzling and our group was the only one in the square. Impressive place!
Cheresh N — Google review
It's a posh little square. It is lined with flowers and fountains. Benches between the flower beds are lovely to sit and take a small break from walking. It seems like there will be a big event here as there are a lot of vans with heavy equipments are being set on the ground. (Today is September 24 2025)
Rie T — Google review
Built in the early 20th century, Victory Square features impressive architecture from the Secession and Neo-Romanian styles. The facades of the buildings surrounding the square are richly decorated, giving it a charming, old-European atmosphere. The wide promenade through the center is filled with colorful flowers and fountains, making it a favorite place for locals and tourists to walk and relax. It is really a beautiful place.
Milica K — Google review
A really nice square really hard to miss it specially if you live somewhere in the centre. A really nice place to walk have a cup of coffee and shop. It’s it’s most too crowded around the afternoon But I wouldn’t describe it as a busy place. I visited the square in October the weather was really nice.
Theodora P — Google review
Short stay in Timisoara after a week long business trip, such a wonderful place to see. Great food, coffee, and historic places to see. And if you like shopping Euro mall / Iulius mall is just 5 minutes drive from victory square.

Union Square (Piața Unirii) is one of the most beautiful and historically rich places in Timișoara, Romania. Surrounded by colorful Baroque buildings, charming cafés, and cultural landmarks, it offers a perfect blend of relaxation and heritage. The square’s centerpiece, the Holy Trinity Monument, adds to its elegance, while the nearby St. George’s Cathedral impresses with its grandeur. Whether you're enjoying a coffee, taking photos, or simply walking around, the atmosphere is lively yet peaceful. It's a must-visit spot for tourists and locals alike, capturing the spirit of the city with its architecture, history, and vibrant public life.
Gábor M — Google review
Piața Unirii is the historic and cultural heart of Timișoara—a grand open space infused with baroque elegance and a surprisingly vibrant atmosphere. Flanked by two imposing cathedrals—the Roman Catholic Cathedral (built between 1736–1774, designed by Fischer von Erlach) and the Serbian Orthodox Cathedral (constructed between 1744–1748)—the square reflects the city’s multicultural soul. At its center stands the Plague Column (Holy Trinity Monument), a baroque sculpture created in Vienna in 1740 and transported to Timișoara via waterway. It commemorates the end of a devastating plague epidemic that struck the region from 1731 to 1738. Surrounding the square are representative buildings like the Baroque Palace (now the Museum of Art), the Brück House with its secession-style architecture, and several colorful, well-preserved facades such as the "Three Hussars House", creating a picturesque and harmonious urban ensemble. Spanning roughly 150 × 110 meters, the square once served as the city's main marketplace and was historically known as Losonczy Square, then Hauptplatz or Domplatz. It received its current name in 1919, commemorating the entry of Romanian troops into the city on August 3rd. Today, following elegant restorations (1988–1989, led by architect Șerban Sturdza), the square features warm stone paving, pastel-colored buildings, and a calm yet lively ambiance. It's a favorite spot for both locals and tourists to enjoy a coffee at one of the terraces, admire the architecture, or take part in open-air events and festivals. Recommended time to visit: in the evening, when the soft lighting highlights the baroque contours, creating a cinematic feel—ideal for stunning photographs.

Specialty Museums
The Banat Village Museum, also known as the National Village Museum 'Dimitrie Gusti,' is a captivating open-air museum located in Muntenia, Romania. Established in 1936 by folklorists and sociologist Dimitrie Gusti, this expansive museum spans 30 hectares and features over 70 traditional households from various provinces across the country. Visitors can explore authentic homes, a school, a church, and traditional tools such as water mills and oil presses.
The whole museum is surrounded by big trees that make nice shade, so you can visit even on hotter days. Everything is clean, and there are signs in English and even an audio guide in front of every house. Even though not every house is open, I still recommend visiting this place, taking a stroll around, or even making a little picnic on a bench.
Sofija L — Google review
The place is amazing and very welcoming! I definitely recommend visiting it during the warmer seasons, you will be able to see the true colors and details without being cold. You can turn up the light in most rooms and houses. The location is a huge park where you can also have a stroll and a snack on the bench. Parking available on the street, low entrance fee and usually no queue. Definitely recommend!
Luiza — Google review
Large museum in the open space with lot of trees, almost in a forest, in the outscirts of Tamisoara. There are a lot of houses brought from all around Banat. It is easy to see and imagine how people lived in 18th, 19th and 20th century. And how much the qualty of living have been improved until today.

Very interisting museum to show Banat culture. Nice walk in park, in shade, nice relax.

Muzeul Satului Banatean Nice museum that has many renovated old buildings. Entry fees Lei 24 per person. Large with large trees and paved walkable areas, it’s like you walking in a park. Most buildings can be entered and the furniture is well kept and shows how people lived. All have a description of the period and a little bit of history Worth a visit if you are in Timisoara.

Cathedral
Sights & Landmarks
The "Three Holy Hierarchs" Metropolitan Cathedral is a remarkable Neo-Moldavian Romanian Orthodox cathedral located in its own park on the south side of Piata Victoriei. It is a technical marvel, able to accommodate 5,000 worshippers under its nine towers. The cathedral's design was influenced by Medieval Byzantine churches of Moldavia and features a cavernous interior without columns, made possible through the use of reinforced concrete.
A breathtaking landmark in the heart of Timișoara! The "Three Holy Hierarchs" Metropolitan Cathedral is one of the most stunning architectural gems in Romania. I visited in the evening, and the lighting made the entire structure glow beautifully against the deep blue sky. The peaceful atmosphere and detailed design of the building make it a must-see, whether you're into history, photography, or just peaceful strolls. Highly recommended!
Misha S — Google review
We stopped by the Metropolitan Cathedral on a warm afternoon and were truly touched by its peaceful and majestic presence. The architecture is stunning, both inside and out, but what really took us by surprise was the Cathedral Museum located in the basement. It’s a must-visit – featuring an impressive collection of religious icons on wood, glass, and canvas, beautifully embroidered and sculpted sacred objects, as well as a remarkable selection of old religious books. It adds so much depth to the experience and gives visitors a real appreciation for the spiritual and artistic heritage of the area. Truly a serene and enriching place.
Consuela V — Google review
A historical cathedral that enchanted my heart and became a must stop on my short stay 🩵 The cathedral has a different charm at night, majestic and magical with its lights. It has another charm during the day with the sun moving around it. Always radiating with beauty 🙌🏻 We were lucky enough to be there also for the festival parade on 2nd July 🥰

Old city of Timisoara, Romania, first class experience. Nice interesting old buildings reconstructed, clean streets. Everything is in a walking distance, you do not need taxis. Lots of cafes and restaurants not expensive that depends, sorry. We at at traditional Romanian restaurant which Offer Romanian cuisine, very tasty and for 2 big portion it was AUS$ 47. Again Australian $ is very low about 1€=2aus $. We travelled by car and pared it in city centr. We bought SIM card just for a day.
Boris B — Google review
The cathedral is really beautiful! We didn't visit it inside but it's worth seeing even only on the outside. It has a very interesting mosaic.
Elena M — Google review
This is the simbol of Timișoara, the beautiful orthodox cathedral. A place that we all love and cherish. Anyways, we cannot, and should not forget that on December 1989 the clergy closed and locked the main doors and the people of Timisoara, were massacred on the stairs of the church!
Rasputin — Google review
The Romanian Orthodox Metropolitan Cathedral in Timișoara is one of the city’s most iconic landmarks and a true architectural masterpiece. Its imposing Neo-Romanian design, adorned with distinctive mosaics and stained-glass windows, dominates the main boulevard. The interior radiates warmth and spiritual peace, decorated with beautiful icons and frescoes. The cathedral also holds great historical significance, especially during the events of 1989, making it a place of silent tribute. A visit here leaves a lasting impression and offers a glimpse into Romania’s rich cultural and spiritual heritage.

Museums
The Timișoara Art Museum is located in an elegant Baroque palace, showcasing a diverse collection of classic and contemporary artwork. The museum features a notable collection of 20th-century works by portraitist Corneliu Baba, including self-portraits, landscapes from Spain and Venice, and portraits of cultural figures like composer George Enescu. The museum's departments also house decorative arts, European art, and historic paintings from the Banat region.
A huge and beautiful museum to visit as long as you have time to spend! We visited for around one hour and a half and we were not able to finish all the rooms and expositions in the museum (we still had one of the 6 big parts). There are lockers for you to safe keep your bags so that your visit is light. We were lucky that the museum started the summer opening hours and they close at 9pm so we had the chance to take our time as we arrived at 5pm 😊 I really appreciated the underground wine section, I will let you discover it I won’t say a word 🤭 There are beautiful paintings and artists I got to discover and they were inspiring ♥️ Happy visit!
Elia N — Google review
The museum is a beautiful building located in the main square. It was well-maintained and had air conditioning throughout. The paintings were diverse and covered a wide range of art styles. The museum often hosts exhibitions by famous Romanian artists. However, the information about the navigation and the exhibits wasn't very clear, so I got a bit lost trying to follow the themes and timelines. I visited the museum alone that day. The middle-aged man at the ticket booth behaved inappropriately. He was flirting with me and making me uncomfortable. He even offered to sell me a discounted ticket and be my personal guide, as well as having a glass later on. It was disappointing to see someone like him representing such a nice place. The staff seemed to have trouble speaking English. When I tried to ask questions about the paintings, they just pointed me back to that ticket booth.
Dang D — Google review
Very interesting regional museum with several galleries of national and international artists. Unfortunately the lights are creating reflexions on oil paintings, please reduce the lights for better pictures.
GentilDanseur G — Google review
The Timișoara Art Museum was a really pleasant surprise. The rooms are beautiful, and the exhibitions are interesting and well displayed. The museum is larger than it first seems, so it actually took us a while to go through everything — but it was absolutely worth it. A very enjoyable visit!
Anda M — Google review
One of the best Romanian Museums I have visited yet. Amazing experience, extremely well-thought exhibitions, and very friendly, helpful staff. The collections are very vast and cover many art styles and movements, while being iconic
Elena M — Google review
I went to the Timișoara Art Museum today and it was definitely better than I expected. I really liked all the paintings and sculptures on display. When I arrived there was no line and if you're a student, it's only 8 lei.
Alejandro — Google review
A very interesting museum with original scents "exhibition" and sceny testing in the basement. A genuine view on the sty conservatory work on the upper level. There was a live piano music in the modern art section when i entered it❤️ very well prepared and friendly stuff. Highly reccomend.
Marta H — Google review
The paintings and art are mostly classical and vary from impressionism to still life and realistic portraits... although, to be fair, the art contains only the titles and their painter/sculptor. They could be more elaborate on the origins or the way the painter painted his feelings and or story. Besides the art, the security is not great, they want to see your card then send you somewhere else because you are not permitted to enter a certain area and later they say that you can visit that area, it is just a lack of communication and consistency. Overall experience was okay, improvements could make this place awesome 👌

Located in Timisoara, Liberty Square is a historic public square surrounded by stunning 19th and early 20th-century buildings of various architectural styles. Originally a major marketplace, the square has witnessed significant events in Romanian and world history. It was the site of a crucial battle during the Hungarian Revolution in 1849. The area houses several buildings with military functions, including the Garrison Command and the Old Town Hall. Visitors can also admire the Monument of St. Mary and St.
Very nice place. I am just sorry that it was cold. I hope that I will be able to go when in summer.

Liberty Square is one of the most beautiful and historic spots in Timișoara. As the second-oldest square in the former fortress, it offers a glimpse into the city’s rich past. Surrounded by stunning architecture like the Garrison Command, the Old City Hall, and the impressive Military Casino — which still preserves elements of its original Baroque facade with Rococo touches — the square is a perfect place for a quiet walk or to admire classicist buildings from the 1900s. It’s also an ideal location for large-scale events and performances. However, during heatwaves, the lack of trees and shaded areas can make it uncomfortable, as there’s little refuge from the strong sun.

Fortress
Sights & Landmarks
Maria Theresia Bastion, named after the Austrian Empress Maria Theresa, is a significant piece of the defensive wall from the 18th-century Austrian-Hungarian fortress in Timisoara. This bastion was part of a larger defensive structure built over 300 years ago to counter advancements in military technology. It used to be the largest military fortification in Romania until its walls were demolished due to urban development. Today, it covers about 1.
Beautifully reconditioned and re-purposed 18 century fortifications. The place does, however, need a lot of work in terms of promoting it. Amazingly helpful and friendly staff at the Info booth.

We came across the Maria Theresia Bastion while exploring the old part of the city and ended up spending more time there than we expected! It’s a fascinating blend of history and modern culture – the ancient walls house exhibitions, shops, and cozy little cafes that bring the place to life. There’s a certain charm about walking through its passages and imagining what it must have been like centuries ago. It's also a great spot for photos and occasional events, which add to its cultural appeal. A hidden gem in the heart of the city.

Last remaining bastion of the 18th century fortification. Well preserved, but it could have been used in a much better way.

The Bastion used to be part of the old Citadel, being an arrow-shaped space in the North. These walls were all that remains from what surrounded the city in the 19th century as they were taken down under Austro-Hungarian Empire. Right now there is a museum in renovation (hope to see it in 2021) and a delicious restaurant and flowers everywhere.

Saint George’s Cathedral, also known as the Roman Catholic Dome, is a stunning 18th-century landmark in Timisoara. This Baroque architectural gem was commissioned by the Holy Roman Emperor and features ornate Rococo elements created by artists from Vienna. The cathedral hosts frequent organ concerts due to its excellent acoustics and is one of the most valuable buildings of its kind in the region. Visitors can admire its luxurious interior and attend liturgies held in Hungarian, German, and Romanian.
In renovation for the past many, many years, the cathedral is finally open to the public again. Both the interior and the exterior have been beautifully renovated. Visiting is free and the art inside is quite impressive. The organ is played on a regular basis as well and sounds fantastic.

Bega River, flowing through the heart of Timisoara, offers a picturesque setting with lush greenery and charming bridges. The riverbank provides a beautiful walking path where you can admire the cityscape and the Timisoara Orthodox Cathedral from afar. In summer, riverside cafes and restaurants create a lively atmosphere. Bega River is not only an aquatic lifeline but also a hub for events and festivals that celebrate the city's natural beauty.

Nice to have a walk on the shore, you can also take the boat bus but there are still some thinks that need improvements. Also Bega Boulevard it's a lovely event and in the summer you may enjoy a lot of restaurants on both sides.

The dirtiest and the most smelly river you can find in Serbia. To be even funnier there is no industiral waste, the main reason is that sewerage from the whole city with around 70k citizens, goes to this river, then via Tisza and Danube to Black sea where people swimming in our wastewater
Igor I — Google review
One of the nicer things about Timisoara has to be its river Bega. Recently some things have changed but here's an update : 1) the closer you get to the central part of town, the more you'll be pleased aesthetically by the river banks. 2) good place to go by bike for a ride. Nice for long strolls. A good choice for runners also. 3) you've got many options when it comes to food and drinks as far as I am concerned 4) plenty of parks near it that you can explore if you chose to do so 5) activities such as kayaking are out for now because city council has put in a new transportation system in place (small boats up to 50 people i think) that I can't be 100% objective about because some restrictions have been put in place now on water sports on the river so I'll let you make up your mind on how you feel about it. 6) fishing is possible if that's something you enjoy 7) further plans on enhancing aesthetics are in place and on going.

Nice parks and side walks. Nice for a week relaxing by the river, playground for kids. Activities in the water. It's getting better and better as time goes by.

The dishes here don’t just look and photograph great — they taste amazing too! We arrived a bit before closing time, and the staff made a real effort to welcome us and even offered vegetarian options, including some that weren’t on the regular menu. Everything we tried was absolutely delicious. The service was excellent, the place was spotless and elegantly designed, and the prices were very reasonable considering the quality of the food. Highly recommended!

Yesterday we celebrated both my parents’ 70th birthday at Merlot and it was a most wonderful location to celebrate this special occasion. The manager and the staff organised the setting beautifully with great attention to details and personalised touches, the food was delicious and the cake specially made by the in-house cook, a mouth-watering Pavlova. All in all we had a wonderful time and I can warmly recommend Merlot for special occasions!

Horrible experience, cannot rate less than one star.. food used to be good but now is only average and overpriced., I went in September in a Saturday evening, there were gyps yelling on the terrace the whole night, nobody from the waiters sad a word. The gyps are spending their lovely night there but this is not lovely for anyone else. I do not recommend the place anymore, sadly,.it used to be great.

Very beautiful and tasty restaurant close to the river and park in amazing historical building. They have excellent options for groups and events, and as well it's perfect for lunch or dinner. The food is always fresh and tasty. We made our wedding event there, and the organization, food, support, and atmosphere were excellent. Thank you, Merlot team, for making our special event such great and unforgettable! We will come back for sure!

Vinto

Restaurant
Vinto is a well-known restaurant and wine bar located in the heart of Timisoara, on a pedestrian street leading to Piata Unirii. It offers a unique culinary experience with a variety of options for vegetarians and vegans, such as beet tartare, burrata with truffles, and grilled carrot vegan burger. The place boasts an excellent selection of Romanian and international wines that perfectly complement the menu.
This is a cozy little place on the corner of two streets. It has a nice modern slightly upscale dining vibe. We were greeted nicely and sat immediately. They had an English menu as well which was nice haha. They were able to give recommendations and you could tell there was a bit of pride in the location which is always nice. After we sat we could see the servers checking every plate before taking it out and cleaning them to ensure the presentation was spot on. This little step is so small but shows the level of professionalism that a restaurant has. WINE: Vinto: This wine is made specifically for the restaurant and is wonderful. It is not dry like a Cab and almost has more of a pinot noir body. FOOD: Bruschetta with Chamembert: I am not a mushroom person but figured I would give this a try. The flavors are very good. My only note is that the whole texture is very soft with the only crunch coming from the bread which was slightly soggy in the middle. It was a little hard to navigate eating it since it comes as one piece of bread, and perhaps if the bread was cut more than once it would be easier? Overall this was absolutely amazing and as a non-mushroom lover I would order this again! Flank Steak and Fries: I ordered this Medium Rare but it was more on the rare to raw side. They did take the steak back to fire it a little more. The fries being served separately was actually an interesting idea because it helps the potatoes from getting soggy. The flank steak is seasoned beautifully and honestly I think I should have just ordered it medium. This was great but I think next time I would just get the Ribeye haha. The crust on the steak was okay as well. I believe it was finished in an oven so maybe just a harder sear on the outside would have been nice. The fries were delicious and crispy! Ceafa de Porc Confiata cu pieure cu trufe și morcovi murată: Oh my GOD! This was cooked to perfection! The pork melts in your mouth and all of the components come together beautifully in this dish! Well Done! Baveta cu cartofi pai: This was a nice balance and ending to the meal. It had a nice crunchy exterior and a soft center. It was not overly sweet and had a nice balance of flavors.

Fantastic place in the heart of Timișoara. We stopped here for dinner and are glad we did so. The food was delicious, prepared with high quality ingredients. Their burger is a gem - those roasted peppers are a fantastic touch! The pasta with beef cheeks and truffles was also delicious. Desserts are top, especially the pavlova. They also offer a great wine selection. Staff is very friendly, knowledgeable and attentive. Prices are on the higher end, but it's worth it!

I had such a wonderful experience at this restaurant! The food is absolutely delicious, full of flavor and clearly made with care. The staff are amazing—super friendly, attentive, and always making sure you have everything you need. The place itself is spotless and very well kept, which adds to the overall comfort. One of the best parts is that you can actually see how your food is being prepared, which makes the experience feel even more fresh and authentic. Highly recommend to anyone looking for great food and excellent service!

Lovely food with great wine pairings. The duck breast was tasty and smooth. The only caveat is they don't have a simple menu for kids. Not a problem per se, but would make more families with kids go there if they would be ready for that.

Everything is plated so nicely and it has also amazing taste. The atmosphere is perfect for a dinner with your special people:)
Stefania M — Google review
I would say the food was very good... perhaps a but pricy for Timisoara and some dishes are oversalted, the foie gras was sliced, not very rich and tender, not to my taste but the duck was good once I scraped the salt off. If you're into fancy half inch salt crystals, you'll love it. I went again with colleagues, had great lentil pancakes and very good rabbit, asked them to skip the salt. The wine is wonderful and you can buy bottles to take home. Recommend the Ambrosy.
Chad C — Google review
The service is good and professional. The wine list is basic and lacks in offers by the glass regarding the Romanian wines. It was disappointing to be told that one of the wines offered by the glass in the menu was unavailable because they did not have an open bottle and I had to purchase the bottle instead. At least it was a lovely wine. Expensive for what it offers.

Whether you're craving traditional Romanian dishes or international cuisine, Locanda Del Corso has something to offer. The best Napoli style pizza in Timisoara. No doubt about that. A good choice of drinks, friendly and flexible staff. The place of choice for a quiet dinner in cosy atmosphere in the old city center of Timisoara.

A charming Italian restaurant with a warm, inviting atmosphere and outstanding service. The pasta was fresh, well-cooked, they have a solid wine selection. The sauce could have been richer, but overall, a great spot for a relaxed evening with authentic flavors and a cozy ambiance.” They serve German Paulaner Weissebier, a perfect match.

Excellent food and friendly staff! We had a delicious meal at Del Corso, Piața Mărăști — everything was fresh, perfectly cooked, and beautifully presented. The pistachio and mortadella pizza with creamy burrata was absolutely amazing — thin crust, flavorful toppings, and the perfect balance of texture and taste. The carbonara pasta was rich, authentic, and comforting, just like in Italy. The atmosphere is cozy and elegant, and the staff is very kind and attentive. Highly recommend this place for anyone who loves real Italian cuisine in Timișoara! 🇮🇹🍕🍝
Healthy V — Google review
Located in the center of Timișoara, this restaurant offers a delightful dining experience with a focus on Italian cuisine. The seafood pasta and the pasta with shrimp and zucchini were both outstanding, full of flavor and cooked perfectly. The overbaked salmon was also a highlight. However, the desserts, carbonara and lamb chops did not leave a strong impression, but it was okay. One thing that I personally did not like was the tipping policy. At the end of the meal, the waiter presented three fixed tipping options: 10%, 12%, and 15% of the total bill. For a medium-to-expensive restaurant, this feels excessive and leaves little room for the customer to decide a fair tip based on service quality. For the level of service provided and depending of the amount spend, a 5% tip would have been more appropriate. It would be better if customers were allowed to choose the amount they feel is deserved. Overall, the food quality, service and location are great.

Neața Omelette Bistro is a popular breakfast spot known for its delicious omelettes, eggs Benedict, and fluffy pancakes. The restaurant's name is a combination of 'buna dimineata,' which means good morning in Romanian, and omelette. They serve their omelettes in bagels with various toppings like avocado and hummus.
Wow! I will definitely come back here if I’m ever in Timișoara again. The selection of delicious breakfasts is amazing! It’s so popular that there’s often a queue to get in, but we only waited about 15 minutes. There are plenty of tables, so you’ll likely find a spot without much trouble. The service is great, and the food is excellent!

Fantastic breakfast spot! The omelets were absolutely delicious — perfectly cooked and full of flavor. Everything we tried, both sweet and savory, was really tasty and beautifully presented. The place is clean, nicely decorated, and has a warm, inviting atmosphere that makes you want to stay and enjoy. Service was excellent as well — friendly and attentive. Highly recommended for a great start to your day!

One of my favorite places in Timisoara to get breakfast. Great range of breakfast food from pancakes to eggs all ways, and their "yummy fries" are great after a night out partying. Staff speak English and are friendly, but the place is very busy and always crowded - so try to arrive in a small group or it will take forever to get a table.
Crystal G — Google review
The place has great ratings but is a huge disappointment. We got the avocado waffles a a side of salmon, the English breakfast, the Nutella waffles, the fries and the pan sandwich. 1. The avocado waffles The waffle was tasteless and dull. It tasted like paper. There was no salt or pepper. And THE EGG WAS RAW, when I touched the egg yolk, instead of the yolk popping I was met with white water running out, very unsettling 2. The pancakes Tasted store bought and were very chewy 3. The fries Tasted good but the cheese was grainy 4. The English breakfast It was ok 5. The sandwich Very wet The drinks were very good, the hot chocolate was delicious, they had a great green tea and the orange juice was fresh. Everything was well presented and very pretty but not edible

the food there was amazing, they have so many options to choose from, even if they have the same base so i would say they have something for everybody. i went twice with my family and all that we tried was really tasty and delicious. the matcha and the coffee are really good as well. you have to keep in mind that depending on the hour or the day that you arive it might be a little busy but do not worry, their service is pretty fast and it won't be a long wait.

Ever since I came to Timisoara, it’s been difficult to find a free spot to sit down and eat — but I finally managed to! The staff were very friendly and helpful, and thankfully they speak English. The food wasn’t amazing; I was expecting something a bit tastier, especially for the price. Still, I really liked the music and the relaxed atmosphere, which made the visit enjoyable overall.

I went to this place a year ago and it was nice (the photos are from that time), but when I came back this year, the portions got smaller and the quality of the food wasn’t the same unfortunately. Overall, the service and atmosphere are nice, but you could definitely find better food in other places. Not bad though

Homemade in Timisoara, Romania is a top restaurant known for its cozy and welcoming atmosphere. The interior feels like a stylish living room with playful touches of green and turquoise against a neutral backdrop. The menu features classic Romanian dishes such as meatball soup, grilled minced pork sausages, polenta, and grilled beef rolls.
The food is quite good, and the menu is reasonably varied, offering a selection of both complex and simple dishes. Some of the more unique options can be seen in my pictures, while staple dishes like burgers, pork ribs, and crispy chicken are also available. The ambiance of the place is quite pleasant, with a sense of tranquility and elegance.

Ah-hoc decision to come here and have an early dinner while being in Timișoara for a couple of days. Lovely small backyard terrace with background calm music in low key. Very friendly staff. I had Beef Tartar with home made bread. Tender meat deliciously spiced with caperi and fresh tomatoes. I followed waiter’s recommendation and got a fresh ginger juice with honey, lemon and a slice of orange. What a delice! I definitely recommend Homemade in Timișoara . 👍

Such a great atmosphere – it really feels like being at home, but with a stylish, modern twist. The attention to detail in the decoration makes the place extra cozy and welcoming. 🫶 I tried the Teriyaki salmon, the chocolate lava cake, and a Hendrick’s G&T – everything was absolutely delicious, with generous portions and great presentation. The service was also very attentive, which made the whole experience even better. 🐟🍹 Can only recommend this place for both a casual night out or a special occasion! 🤩

I used to come here often for lunch. I've tried most of their dishes, and I highly recommend the Camembert salad and the chicken with spinach and crème fraîche. The prices are fairly high, with dishes ranging from 40 to 100 lei. The interior is unique and has a cozy, home-like feel.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ A Hidden Gem That Surprised Us in the Best Way We stopped by Homemade Restaurant while visiting Timișoara from Serbia to attend a children’s event at the local church Biserica Baptista Locala. We were simply looking for a quick burger and fries before heading to the nearby park. What we got was far beyond what we expected. Even though we ordered something simple, the food was absolutely delicious—rich flavors, fresh ingredients, and perfectly cooked. The juice we ordered was also fantastic and paired wonderfully with the meal. We didn’t dine inside, but we were honestly impressed by the elegant and upscale interior—much fancier than expected for a casual stop. Even the takeaway containers were high-quality, which showed a great attention to detail. The staff were kind and helpful, and the service was much faster than expected—perfect for families like ours on the go. We weren’t looking for a place to impress us… but we left truly impressed. Highly recommend — especially for families or anyone looking for excellent food, thoughtful service, and a convenient location. Five stars from us!

The place is really nice, the staff is nice. The food is horrendous. Looks goods, but extremely salty (and that’s the only taste). Also the menu description compared to the food that comes is a bit different… if you wanna have a good time visit but don’t eat. Also if you buy a fresh orange juice, expect 25 orange seeds in the glass (also the guacamole had a lot of lemon seeds… disgusting). PS: we were a big table and almost everyone complained about the food (example meat very dry, potatoes burnt, food either too salty or not great taste)

12 of us came for dinner. Reservation almost not needed as it was Sunday. The terrace view is cool, food was great, everyone was happy. Could use more comfortable chairs. The best thing was the service. Our waiter didn't write down anything at all and didn't miss any order, nothing. He was very polite and nice and always there when you need him. The food’s taste was on the high end of expectations. The place itself was tidy and spacious, nicely decorated and a good ambient. Miss Monica was very nice to us, paid attention to all our needs and answered, patiently all of our questions. Many thanks, miss Monica! The portions were considerate for the price and the food was freshly prepared. Would strongly recommend the Pad Thai Bo and this restaurant for anyone that wants a new treat or good quality food and customer service.
Casian T — Google review
A truly great pho bo broth should be a complex, aromatic, and deeply flavorful experience. The lack of spices, warmth, and the absence of a proper garnish plate with fresh chili, lime, and herbs like basil and cilantro is a major red flag. Having to pay extra for a basic condiment like Sriracha is also a sign of a restaurant cutting corners. Similarly, bun bo nam bo and pad thai rely on a balance of specific flavors that were clearly missing. It's the small details, like the inclusion of pickled garlic (giấm tỏi) and bamboo shoots (dưa măng), that show a restaurant's dedication to authenticity.

We were hungry after the road, and as they say, hunger is the best flavor enhancer. We chose this restaurant by its rating and didn’t regret it. The interior is done in an interesting ethno style, there were only a few people, we were served quickly, and all the dishes arrived hot and fresh. The goulash was good, and the pleskavica turned out even better than the ones we tried in Niš and Belgrade. The only downside—the side salad served with the pleskavica could have been tastier. Overall, highly recommend!

March 2023 review One of the finest restaurants that you can eat in, while in Timișoara. With its Serbian specialty it does have a large variety of food. Friendly staff and cool interior! We've had a pork kebap with baked potatoes, a delicious bean soup and cabbage salad. For shot/strong/appetizers drinks, I recommend the quince and pear spirits. The quince one is a must - an aromatic and soft taste, a lighter approach. The pear one is only if you prefer a stronger drink and the aroma is not as intense as the quince one. April 2023 review Still one of the finest restaurants in Timișoara! This time, the we went for the DINAR pastas. Absolutely delicious! Came back again for that quince appetizer drink and a Bucu beer. Perfect place to have either lunch or dinner!

We enjoyed our time here overall, but we noticed that many restaurants and coffee shops in Timișoara struggle with customer service. For example, in several places we asked if we could be seated and were simply ignored, with no “Hello, welcome.” 😅 Menus were handed over in a rushed manner, and at times we felt more like intruders than paying guests. That said, the food here was quite good. I definitely recommend the steak with truffle potato purée and green pepper sauce – it was excellent. The lamb stew, however, had a very unusual taste, almost like canned fish in tomato sauce, which was disappointing. 😞As for the green apple drink, it felt incomplete – basically just apple juice with ice and a slice of lime. Overall, it was okay! 👍

Great restaurant for a close-to-fine-dining experience. It's conveniently located in the city center, making it very accessible. The location is larger than it looks from the outside and offers both indoor and outdoor seating. The indoors are non-smoking. The menu is varied and has a great selection of dishes, from appetizers and soups to oven-baked and fried foods. The food is pricy but tasty. The desserts are delicious. The staff is very friendly, they know what's available and what isn't based on what ingredients are still available in the kitchen. The serving was quite fast as well. You can split the bill and pay by cash or card, which is very convenient for larger groups.

But the new prepared plate didn't look that good and the meat was still salty but eatable. For being a 5 star restaurant such a faultpas must not happen. Other than that preparation and quality was very good, also the service.

Good food. Fast service. Totally recommend trying the duck. :) I would only deduct a point for the drinks. Green Apple was just a bottled watered down juice, same experience with a cocktail I ordered. But nonetheless a great restaurant!

Timișoara International Airport

International airport
Airport
Timișoara Airport (Traian Vuia International Airport) is a small but efficient airport serving the city of Timișoara, Romania. It offers a straightforward experience with basic amenities, including cafes, a small duty-free shop, and car rental services. The airport handles a mix of domestic and international flights, primarily connecting to major European cities. The check-in and security processes are typically smooth, although the facilities can get crowded during peak times. Overall, it provides a convenient gateway to western Romania, with a focus on quick and easy transit for travelers.

Timișoara International Airport is a small yet very efficient airport. The facilities are clean, modern, and easy to navigate. Staff were friendly and professional, and the security check was quick and smooth. I had no trouble finding my gate, and boarding was well organized. The terminal has a calm atmosphere, which made the wait comfortable. Overall, it was a pleasant experience, and I would gladly fly through here again.

Quick and easy customs process But smells like urine all throughout the airport from the washrooms. Completely unacceptable to welcome travellers and our US military allies that passed through today with such low and unhygenic standards.

Clean and efficient airport with plenty of seating areas and some food options. Limited bus options to the city though - timings are irregular and bus driver speaks no English so you might want to consider an Uber or Bolt if you have a language barrier

horrible! at baggage drop-off there was only one processer, after "processing" the customer needed to bring the baggage in another location, as there seems to be a defect. there is a business lounge, which is small and cramped and has little offerings. there is a smokers lounge, but the air filters don't work therefore the door is open and the whole terminal smells. in the "boarding room" there is no functioning air conditioning and therefore everyone was sweating. great experience so far, wouldn't whish it upon my worst enemies.

It’s a modern, efficient airport with friendly staff.

Expect long queues even after online check-in. Self service luggage tag not working, neither luggage belt so you need to carry it to some other place. Sewage smell all around, Balkan experience at its finest. Still better than the old airport, that looks like a bus station from the 70s

We ended up in a panic attack shock after inexperienced stuff told us that we cannot proceed in flying. It was Monday 29 th September early morning at 5 am. Stuff seemed helpless with little customer care at that early time. Story: I previously booked a Lufthansa connecting flight from Timisoara to Munich to Malta to be able to travel with a small puppy on plane. As per Lufthansa policy, for the flight from Timisoara to Munich, I informed the airline in advance & customers pay at the airport. As also.per Lufthansa policy, I paid in advance KM Airlines (Malta Air), as the flight was in partnership with Lufthansa. I'm simple words, I had everything in place with all necessary documents as instructed, but there was a lady at the counter to pay for the dog from Timisoara to Munich who refused to accept our payment & was arrogant (we talk to her & she was like it was not her responsibility giving us her back). We showed her all confirmation notes & receipts that we had everything in order but she cares less. She told us to call KM Airlines at 5 am when KM offices were closed at that time. Later on upon arriving at Munich airport, I was welcomed well & they told me that everything was in order & fine, and Upon calling Malta Air, they told me that all my documents & payments were in perfect order. Simply short, at first she did not want us to at least let us pay as per requirements.to board from Timisoara to Munich. Then upon our panic shocks, she let us go through. This was an unnecessary stress on us & trauma...all that was needed was some common sense or someone who knows what was doing. Being left stranded in an airport in Romania or leaving the puppy behind to board due someone else lack of knowledge, was the least thing I wanted.
