Absolutely amazing architecture really beautiful cathedral. Only disappointing thing is wasn’t able to view the inside but that is because I arrived in the evening although the view of the cathedral at night is also spectacular and even from the outside truly worth a visit very nice.

This cathedral is massive and must have really intimidated people back in the day. I've never seen anything like it, though someone told me there's another large one in another German city. This cathedral dominates this small city. Pictures don't capture the humongous size; you have to see it in-person to get the full effect. It communicates power. The inside is beautiful, and in one area people pray and reflect, making it a peaceful place to visit.

This church has so many architectural details from the outside and from inside as well. The construction is huge and is a landmark for the city of Erfurt. It could be worth visiting once, however I noticed that they were closing the gates going to the inside yard of the church in the evening.

Amazing cathedral, very much worth the trek up the stairs. When I visited I was also lucky enough to experience a choir sing in there as well. Was magical!

Erfurt Cathedral of St. Mary is an impressive Gothic church that towers above the Domplatz. Its history dates back to the 8th century, with the current structure mainly built in the 14th and 15th centuries. The cathedral is especially famous for the Gloriosa, the largest free-swinging medieval bell in the world. Inside, visitors are captivated by vibrant stained glass windows, ornate altars, and the magnificent Romanesque crypt.

It is huge and expensive. So to get the best for your buck take your time and spend a whole afternoon there. But the park is outstanding even on an international scale!

Wonderful experience. We enjoyed the lovely flour belt, the neatly kept gardens (rose garden, hedges and water features). The Danakil exhibition was really worth it. So educational and with beautiful, massive butterflies, chameleons, desert mammals, colourful bird species and partially massive fishes. The rainforest part is particularly enjoyable with a huge ant feature, steaming water ponds and colourful flowers. Walking around on the terrain we found a little farm section with pigs, gees, farm birds etc. which was well worth it. Also the tower with the viewing platform is worth the climb, as it rewards you with a stunning view over the “Erfurt basin” which is the massive valley, that Erfurt is built within. Only downside the price - with 17€ per adult this is really too much. Also beware that on a Sunday almost all restaurants seem to be closed inside of the Egapark, which is somewhat of a bummer, considering one needs at least a full day to explore the entire terrain.

Ega is always a beautiful excursion. Be it summer or winter. You can easily spend the whole day there with the kids, relaxing in the beautiful gardens or playing in the park, in the playground or the fountains. We also enjoy regular events like Lichterfest, Winterleuchten, music festivals or exhibitions. There are two restaurants and multiple food, coffee and ice trucks, so you won't grow hungry or thirsty either. Especially since you can find a free drinking water fountain next to the farm. Many toilettes are spread around the whole area.

Beautiful and tranquil. Ideal for relaxing and meditating. It’s also picturesque, making ideal for photo shoots. It’s clean, well maintained and costs you nothing to get it. Stop by! You won’t be disappointed.

Beautiful and large complex of thematical gardens, so far the most gorgeous I saw. Very well maintainted and clean, with several places to relax. Also includes a huge playground for children. I hope to visit this awesome place once again in the future.

The best park in erfut, all the cherry blossoms tress are now completely opened. Few parts of the park are under construction for the next big summit they have in next year. You also have a tower from there you can get a perfect view of whole erfut

History and how we acted in the past, what was done to protect what was owned in midst of a war by digging up the cellar and hiding your valuables in the ground,. It shows how modern and free we live nowadays. Profound, but reminder of past and presence. Great place to tour and visit. 1 hour or less

Interesting place to visit to learn jewish heritage. A bit pricey, but peobably because it is part of UNESCO world heritage

Amazing that they were able to restore it after hundreds of years of neglect. The building and artifacts inside are very interesting. Glad the Erfurt City government decided to commemorate the history and make it a notable place.

Was able to find the entrance to the museum fast enough. Had a student card, the entry was free in the museum. There were a lot of historical jewelry, coins and similar stuff inside the building. Also on display was a wedding ring from around 600 years ago. There was a restaurant open in the vicinity of the Synagogue. A special looking restaurant with bamboos used for decorating or its construction.

What? Jewish life in the 14th century without any connection to jewish life in Erfurt in general? The interest of the exhibitor ends with 1453? An isolated perspective ONLY without any context in a narrow minded historian ivory tower. Worst exhibitions I have ever seen in regard to Jewish life with a conservatory museum concept one would have used 1920. Added: we found out that the story of Jewish life continues in the SMALL synagoge. We didn't get any information nor leaflet nor map for the different sites and I am not sure it's available.

Interesting all the stories of the synagogue and the jewesh community. The exhibition is properly done and the upper room pretty interesting but there is not so much to see. Give between 15 and 30 minutes to visit it

Went there on Museum Night when it was too crowed, though the exhibits were amazing and the variety was refreshing. Can't want to come back here when there are less people!

I was introduced to Erfurt’s Angermuseum because I saw the wonderful production of The Hunchback of Notre Dame in its courtyard theater. I returned with a friend to see the excellent exhibition of De Ploeg - a group of Dutch authors that came together in the 1920s. This exhibition was excellent. I wandered into the museum’s main painting gallery and found the groupings by old masters and 20th/21st century artists a bit jarring. I will have to explore this museum more next time I visit Erfurt.

A small collection of paintings, porcelain and wood carving artwork which is worth visiting. In addition, their temporary exhibition from Clemens Gröszer was impressive. Unfortunately the staff are not so friendly.

My time spent there was great. There was artwork from different eras. I had an amazing time and spend almost all day there. The staff were quite helpful, and if you do visit as a student, you get a discount. Was worth every minute

Amazing how they managed to build this beautiful bridge with the shops and apartments so many years ago before there was any modern machinery! The fact that it is still standing after all these decades is a marvel! I loved the whole experience!

Really cool that one can be walking down the street without even realizing being on the Merchant's bridge. Definitely take a moment to walk outside and see the bridge then walk back through - really cool. There are a lot of little plazas around to stop and relax with a lot of little ice cream shops within a small area.

The Krämerbrücke in Erfurt is the longest bridge in Europe that is completely covered with inhabited buildings. It spans the Gera River and connects Benediktsplatz with Wenigemarkt in the heart of the old town. Small shops, galleries, and artisan workshops line the bridge, giving it a charming medieval atmosphere. It is one of Erfurt’s most famous landmarks and a popular spot for both locals and visitors.

There are plenty of restaurants close by and it was not too loud. At the one end of the bridge there is a church. We arrived too late to go up the church tower.

It's a monastery type of accommodation - everything is very simplistic. The bed was too soft for me. There was no soap in the bathroom, just some shower gel (do I need to go into the shower to wash my hands?). The breakfast was good but not spectacularly rich. It's very quiet there, which might be an advantage. Overall, I think it's too expensive for the quality.

We toured the monastery but didn't stay in the hotel. It is an important religious landmark, but I wish we could have appreciated it better. An audioguide or small pamphlet would make this much easier to understand.

A nicely reconstructed monastery with almost 800 years of history, which is definitely worth a visit. You get an audio guide with your ticket and you can see everything at your own pace. A place associated with Martin Luther.

Beautiful old monastery that was turned into a hotel, with quite small but clean rooms. Very friendly staff and good breakfast. It's a 5 minute walk to the old town from there. Some few parking spots on-site, but sufficient public ones available nearby (10 € / 24h). Very nice place, highly recommended.

This is a fantastic place, used an English audio guide which was very informative. Learned a lot about the monastery and Martin Luther. A bit of a hidden gem. If into religious history it's a must visit

Great place. The hotel is somewhat expensive, but living in one of the biggest attractions in Erfurt and enjoying the monastery courtyard is worth it. Reception closes early, but lock boxes are available

Very beautiful catholic church built right next to the main Erfurt cathedral. It is indeed gorgeous from inside and is not as crowded as the main cathedral. Definitely worth a visit!

Opposite the cathedral, Erfurt has a second church almost as magnificent. Maybe even nicer, because it's not as frequented. Absolutely worth a visit.

Great view all over Erfurt. It is huge and has some fine gardens.

The glass lift looks inviting but there are a multitude of steps before you get to it. For weary legs the sloping paved track on the left is probably the easiest way to the top and leads directly to the main entrance gate. Plenty of space and ample seating.

It's free to just look around the citadel grounds but there's a ticket for the museum. You can also get guided tours. I recommend the Torchlight Tour.

They are still renovating some of the old buildings, which, to be honest, are only of moderate interest, but the views from the top are great and the landscaping with all the wild flowers beautiful!

monumenal historic site, well restored / in good shape. the best possible view of the dom / church and the city. recommendation: take the steps up the hill after dinner for purposes of exercise, and enjoy the spectacular vista at night!

Very nice building, particularly in reconstruction. You can see whole city from the side of Dóm, in the other side you can walk, lie down and sunbathe ona deck chair. RealyGl good place to relax, there is also restaurant with the prospect.

This large complex was used as a military installation all the way up until the wall fell in Germany. Now it is but a relic and it has a couple of museums as well. The area is great for a quiet walk around the grassy hill to get a good look at the town.

The Zitadelle Petersberg is a citadel situated right next to the Domplatz in Erfurt. It is an old fortress preserved very well. The fortress belongs to the time when Erfurt was ruled by the electors of Mainz. The fortress is beautiful, and once you climb it, the view of the city centre - the Domplatz, St Mary's chruch, St Severus Church, the old town and the suburbs surrounding Erfurt is really beautiful. Along with the baroque fortress, there is an antique Postbox that can be seen there. The postbox with intricate designs dates back to 1896.

Nice place. Strong Genius loci. Full of young people. Especially during the sunset you will enjoy beeing there.

Best damn spot in Erfurt! Service totally on point, unbelievable delicious German Food, supremely high end and top quality! Beautiful building and very pretty "Innenhof" in the summertime. Will be my go to spot when visiting Thuringia for business but will be purely for pleasure!

The food was quite acceptable for a group dinner but most of the staff (sorry for the one friendly lady) was outrageous. I have never experienced such a rude behaviour so definitely don’t recommend this restaurant. I would like to be treated as a customer, not a dog. Also coming to ask for an additional drink would be nice than rather have to go and ask for it. Mind you, we were the only group in so no excuses.

Big recommendation. ✨ Food: two soups, wild garlic and asparagus soup as a starter both really good in flavour and wild garlic soup tasted very fresh, seasoning was just right not too salty or overdosed perfect amount Main dish: German wild garlic dumplings with a small salad, avocado oyster mushrooms and cream sauce really really delicious the combination was on point Main dish with meat: Tafelspitz with potatoes sauce and garlic spinach, the beef was so tender and juicy very delicious Service: super kind from making the reservation until the end always attentive and friendly Atmosphere: if you want something special I would recommend going downstairs to the historical vault

The best and biggest Klöße we've ever seen! We can't wait to come back

Very nice atmosphere of a renovated old house. However, food was standard. The dishes we had were overpriced for what we had. Bratkartoffeln were too dark. And a suggestion for the staff: do not clean tables with a cloth that has the mouldy smell. It leaves the smell on the table, which is not pleasant, specially when eating.

Erfurt finest traditional tavern for Thuringian cuisine, featuring exceptional potato dumplings and a delectable gravy. 🥔👌 Additionally, this restaurant offers a charming courtyard and a delightful beer garden. 🍺

Rostbratel was a bit thin, but the rest of the food was food. They ask you to pay contactless but only over 15€!? Just to save a few cents in fees, thats so 90s.

Food: for Vorspeise we ordered Hühnerspiesse and it’s very tasty. 🤤 We also ordered the Namul Dolsot-Bibimbap and Dakgangjeong, we have nothing to say since we didn’t left any single meal in the plate. Everything‘s tasty and the prices are extremely good. Service: We make a reservation at 17:30 and the food was served at 18:02 which is a little bit longer as the other neighbouring korean restaurant that we only waited for 10mins for the food. But it’s okay, it’s still worth the wait. Atmosphere: A like the ambiance of the interior, simple and relaxing. Not a lots of table which is nice because they can accommodate all the incoming customers without disturbing the other customers. Definitely we‘ll visit for second time.

We’ve been here two times already and it has been amazing overall. The food is authentic Korean food and the the teas are very soul warming. The only thing that I would keep in mind is to ask a few times about the meat in the dumplings if you don’t eat pork. The waiter seemed a bit clueless about that. But overall great experience!

The staff is rude and you HAVE to make a reservation. We made one on the app just to walk back in for the staff to say there is no availability. They waved us out the door like we are homeless and we have 2 kids and a baby i was appauled at the treatment. Instead of ruining our nice family day we just went around the corner to Wollkim a nice korean restaurant with a really nice view of the church!

Great food and very good service. The Korean lady took her time to explain how to eat the food which was nice. The restaurant is close to the cathedral and easy to find. I will return again sometime.

This is an incredible spot serving authentic Korean cuisine. The staff is extremely friendly and provides helpful recommendations when it comes to choosing from the menu. Having experienced authentic Korean food in Korea, I can say that there is no difference between the taste here and there. The restaurant has done an amazing job of bringing genuine Korean flavors to central Germany. I am eager to return and sample more dishes from the extensive menu.

The coffee and food is very good, but they only take cash! And nobody warns you about that when you arrive. After eating I had to find an ATM in order to pay.

Great desserts. The croissant was incredible. I've never had anything so delicious.

Crowd is on the old side. If you don’t mind this, you can expect friendly service good food and fair prices.

Great spin on the reuben. Not at all what I expected, but I was pleasantly surprised. Highlights: The meat was perfect, fresh ingredients, excellent sauce and the sauerkraut was fantastic!!! It was all assembled like art.

Omg, FINALLY a great BBQ place in Germany. As an American I take BBQ seriously and its taken 7 years to find this gem in Erfurt!! Best Pulled Pork and Pastrami I've had in Europe. It reminds me of NC, SC and GA BBQ. The BBQ sauce is soooo good. The sauce for the fries was amazing!! I loved it!!! Very reasonably priced, I'd gladly pay 2-3€ more. And the cherry on top, SUPER FRIENDLY & helpful staff(I think it might have been the owner), which is rare in German gastronomy. Your restaurant deserves an award!!!!!

Very nice restaurant right by Krämerbrücke. We ate Winterroulade. The meat was a little dry. I wouldn’t have said anything if the food would have been around 15€ but we paid 25€ per dish and than you expect everything to be top notch. Otherwise Service was great we had a young men as our server and he was top notch. He is the reason why it’s still 5 stars - so let him know he is doing an awesome job!

I visited Gasthaus Feuerkugel for dinner with colleagues and we had a good time. The restaurant is located in the old town of Erfurt and has a cozy and rustic atmosphere. The service was friendly and attentive, and the food was delicious and hearty. We ordered some local specialties, such as Thüringer RinderRoulade and Tafelspitz. The portions were generous and the prices were reasonable. We also enjoyed the beer selection, which included some local brews from Erfurt. We had a great experience at Gasthaus Feuerkugel and we would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a typical German restaurant in Erfurt.

The portions used to be bigger for the above average cost. That does not mean it eas not delicious. The service and ambience were delightful.

Cake was amazing. I had the lemon with meringue, and it was absolutely delicious. Also had some of the Apple and nut cake, which was equally delicious. Really surpassed any expectations I had about how nice a cake ought to be. On the other hand, I had some hot chocolate with cinnamon and it tasted very bitter. Also had a sip of the hot chocolate with cardamom, same story. Reminded me a little of what hot chocolate must have tasted like 300 years ago, before people actually enjoyed it and when it was just a class symbol. I mean it wasn't disgusting, just not great.
