Winchester Cathedral

Cathedral
Sights & Landmarks
Winchester Cathedral is a medieval Anglican cathedral known for its imposing Norman exterior and Gothic interior. It is one of the largest cathedrals in Europe, showcasing architectural styles from the 11th to 16th century. The cathedral features notable elements such as a 15th-century stone screen, richly carved choir stalls, and a Norman crypt with modern sculpture.
Winchester Cathedral is a must see when visiting the city. It is the longest Gothic cathedral in Europe with stunning Norman and Gothic architecture. We took the free one hour tour which was amazing, the guide covered all the key spots and shared great stories. After the tour you can explore freely and take pictures. Whether you’re into history, architecture, or just want a peaceful place to visit, the cathedral has something for everyone.
Bloomy L — Google review
A lot to see and take in, both in the large interior areas, as well as small details and specific features as well as having a exhibit about the building's history. Worth a visit. Easily spent about 1h and a half looking at burrial sites, architecture, history and art.
A R — Google review
A beautiful cathedral, worth a visit to see the architecture, carvings and stained glass windows. Jane Austen is buried in the cathedral with her memorial stone in the nave. Those interested in history will find plenty to see. Anyone in search of a peaceful place with find it here. There is an entrance fee but it allows free further visits for 12 months.
Tom K — Google review
It is such a nice spot to just have a sit down, not very loud and obviously has a incredible architecture! During my trip to Winchester I stopped by here a few times - the inside of the cathedral is beautiful and worth seeing but tickets are overpriced. Also if you enjoy books, there is a great shop round one of the sides that has something for everyone📚
Jem C — Google review
The guided tour that comes with the admission price is easily worth it. I was bowled over with our guide's (Michael) depth of knowledge and fantastic anecdotes about the cathedral. The ticket is open for a year. There's so much more to find out about this splendid building we will probably be back. Winchester's nice to walk around too. Probably best to avoid peak times.
Andy S — Google review
The staff was really friendly and the cathedral is pretty big and beautiful, definitely worth the time. We chatted for 15-20 min with the staff member in the library (yeah they have an amazing library with beautiful old books) he told us really great stories and gave us some insights on how big of a work goes into working with these. The cathedral overall is really detailed and has an interesting story, it even has a small museum inside.
Levi — Google review
The great cathedral is the primary reason why we wanted to visit Winchester and it did not disappoint. We jumped into one of the tours being offered at the ticket entrance and had such a great experience. The tour took just over an hour, and we spent another hour afterwards exploring the massive space, checking out some of the many sacred and historical items on display (including the Winchester Bible), and paying our respects at the Jane Austen memorial with the added bonus of occasional organ music in the background. A perfect way to spend a half day.
Jeff B — Google review
Highly, highly recommend visiting and taking the guided tour! The volunteers were enthusiastic, welcoming, and very friendly. There was so much history to see, including an exhibition. We had Robert Little as our tour guide, and he truly brought the history to life. He was very knowledgeable, passionate, and engaging in his storytelling! One of the many details I enjoyed was when he pointed out some of the different architectural styles, such as Norman or Gothic. Since the ticket is valid for a full year, he even recommended joining tours with other guides to get different flavours of information and perspectives. Overall, definitely a fantastic experience!

The Great Hall

Mentioned on

Historical landmark
Sights & Landmarks
The Great Hall is a captivating 13th-century structure with a rich historical legacy. It stands as one of the finest surviving examples of early English Gothic architecture and is steeped in tales of medieval lore, notably linked to King Arthur and his knights. The hall's significant role in various historical events adds to its allure, having hosted the English Parliament in 1246 and witnessed trials such as that of Sir Walter Raleigh.
This place was amazing. I loved all the stain glass windows that had all the kinds and corresponding people of the reign going down through the windows. The table itself was like looking at King Arthur's Knights round table. I know it's probably not the table, but it's super cool to see in person. A must stop is recommended here.
Debra D — Google review
Local project full of middle age history along with the Round table. Impressive. Worth the visit and definitely worth supporting. We did the three venue option when buying tickets and thought very reasonable. Reccomended.
Somewhere E — Google review
Definitely a must visit. It’s all that’s left of the old castle and dates back to the 1200s. The Round Table on the wall might not be from King Arthur’s time but it’s still really cool to see. Loved the stained glass windows showing all the kings and key figures, and the Norman medieval architecture is just stunning. It’s full of history and the whole place just feels majestic. We did the three venue ticket and thought it was great value. Definitely worth supporting.
Bloomy L — Google review
Everyone focuses on the Round Table. That's fine, but don't skip the rest. The staff are very helpful and friendly, and quite willing to spend the extra time explaining the various tickets, what is where, and what the photography rules are etc. Do take a look at the garden, the giant family tree at the other end of the hall from the table, and the long gallery. The cafe is good for a quick drink and snack, but if you're planning on a meal, plan on a restaurant. That's not meant as a criticism AT ALL Just trying to help you plan.
David B — Google review
A must-visit for history lovers! The Great Hall in Winchester absolutely blew me away. It’s one of the best-preserved medieval halls in England, dating back to the early 1200s. The architecture is stunning – huge Gothic windows, soaring stone columns, and a real sense of grandeur. The highlight has to be the legendary Round Table hanging on the wall, believed to have been built in the 13th century and painted during Henry VIII’s reign. You can really feel the weight of history here – once part of Winchester Castle and a key seat of royal power. Super informative displays, friendly staff, and a beautiful garden outside. Highly recommend!
Jason B — Google review
Had a "touristy" day. Don't believe I've ever been here before. Now I'm wondering why not. Fascinating! Great to see the Round Table in all its glory. And for the pleasure of many a woman you can get fairly close to the costume worn by Colin Firth when playing Mr Darcy in the BBC adaptation of Pride. & Prejudice. That's got to be worth the entrance fee in itself!! Tickets last for a year so I'll be back in the next few months for sure.
David N — Google review
Winchester's Great Hall is an awe-inspiring 13th-century survivor, the last remnant of William the Conqueror's Winchester Castle. Built by Henry III, its scale immediately impresses. The star attraction is the legendary King Arthur's Round Table, though dendrochronology dates it to the late 13th century – still, it powerfully evokes centuries of myth. This hall witnessed pivotal history: Sir Walter Raleigh's 1603 condemnation, the "Bloody Assizes," and once even housed the Domesday Book. Its magnificent hammer-beam roof and historical resonance make it a captivating and essential visit for anyone exploring Winchester's rich past.
Dawid S — Google review
A once great castle stood in Winchester but sadly most of it is long lost. The one remaining gateway is part of the ticket price for the hall. A large table sits on the wall called King Arthur's Round Table but it is much later than when he would have been around.

Wolvesey Castle (Old Bishop's Palace)

Castle
Heritage building
Wolvesey Castle, also known as the Old Bishop's Palace, is a historic site in Winchester, Hampshire. Built in the 12th century, it served as the residence of the bishops of Winchester. The castle has witnessed significant historical events such as sieges during civil wars and royal weddings. Despite being in ruins today, it remains an impressive landmark along the River Itchen. The name "Wolvesey" originates from a Saxon king's demand for 300 wolf heads annually.
Beautiful place, lovely walk around. To the people in the reviews saying it’s a ruin, yes it’s a medieval castle. Also to the people complaining that it’s sometimes not open, that’s because it’s volunteers who willingly use their free time to open, close and do site checks. Also the castle can’t open if it’s too badly flooded or if there’s recently been an injury at the castle. Been many times and if you’re there at closing the volunteer is always polite and happy to talk about the castle. Lovely place and lovely team
Jenna A — Google review
It was free first of all and it was also accessible as we had a push chair. We walk around town and we follow a route to the ruins of the Castle
Blanca R — Google review
A very interesting piece of history which is only a few minutes walk from the cathedral and in fact is located right next to the current estate of the Bishop. Sadly as with time, parts of the site has now been secured off due to natural deterioration. But if you love history, I would suggest paying a quick visit to the ruins, the boards arounds the site can give you a good idea of what it was once like.
Breaking B — Google review
Beautiful old castle, so impressive. And the history behind it , unbelievable. It does worth a visit so much to see and admire. Winchester is a beautiful town and has so much to offer.
Cristina S — Google review
At each step in you are more amazed by the stone works inside. It’s a lovely distraction, a quiet and peaceful place by the river shore.. and st no charge at all! Well worth the visit
Jerry S — Google review
Loved this castle, best of all it was free! Wouldnt pay for seeing it though, its a wreck! 🤣
J ( — Google review
Quite small set of ruins, free though so it's an interesting little visit in-between other sites. There are refreshments available on site from Wednesday to Sunday.
Paul N — Google review
Chill and relaxing site seeing. Good signage that explains the ruins of the palace. Nice bit of history. Clean. Signs leading to the location helped a little. There is an audio guide available. I didn’t try it so I am not sure how good is it. No tickets needed. Free entry.

Lovely place to visit if you're in Winchester. Some interesting information on the building's past, and a really lovely garden to enjoy a coffee and explore. Can be a bit tricky to cross the road to get to though, so watch out.
Chris I — Google review
Quaint place, lots of history to trundle through and fun, interactive exhibits. You might catch a glimpse of the river otters if you're lucky. Cafe has a fantastic outdoor space. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Would stop by next time we're around. Recommended! Oh, and it is free to visit even for non-members.
Razvan — Google review
Beautiful old mill set in a gorgeous setting. Small but had everything a National Trust property would normally have except parking. A car park can be found just around the corner. A huge thumbs up to the cafe. Could offer my husband gluten, dairy and meat free options.
Tanya B — Google review
National Trust members free. Small garden and lovely cafe, very lovely staff. Thank you for your kindness when my baby boy had a "meltdown".
Aga K — Google review
This is a very interesting place exciting to see the rushing waters of the mill race, and some nice displays explaining functionality. Very nice staff and a little cafe that we missed because we arrived so late.
Dominic C — Google review
Free entry, cute garden sitting area in the back (if you visit the cafe, go there!), and take the stairs to see the water flowing underneath. Cute selection of used books in the gift shop. Heard about this from TikTok when looking for things to do. Worth adding to your day trip list.
Muriah U — Google review
This is a free entry establishment but they do request a donation. After what I paid for the coffee, however, at the cafe I decided they had included a donation in the price. There are resident bats and video evidence of the visiting otters which is amazing to see. It's a pity the machinery doesn't work because that might have been nice to see but still worth a visit!

Winchester City Museum is a must-visit destination for history enthusiasts in Winchester. The museum offers fascinating exhibits that delve into the city's rich past, including its time as the capital of England under King Alfred the Great. Visitors can explore various historical periods, from the Roman era to the Victorian era, through engaging displays and artifacts. Additionally, the museum pays homage to renowned figures such as Jane Austen, with a dedicated section showcasing her legacy and contributions.
Excellent pocket sized museum tucked away at the back of the High Street. Charming, friendly staff to point you in the right direction plus a wealth of historical local artifacts covering 2,000 years. I'm not a fan of models but there is a beautiful detailed model of Winchester on the ground floor. I am a big fan of mosaics and there is a beautiful Roman one displayed on the first floor. All the floors are packed with amazing finds, including a skeleton. Loads of dressing up for the kids and give some time to listen to a superb chat about Victorian picnics. It's informative and fun.
Ron B — Google review
The Winchester City Museum provides an overview of the city's history, with some interesting displays about Roman and medieval Winchester. However, I expected a more engaging and interactive experience. The museum is small, and while it has some nice exhibits, it doesn’t leave a lasting impression. Worth visiting if you enjoy local history, but not particularly memorable.
Dmytro M — Google review
Had tickets through the three in one tickets with 878AD. We really loved the museum and it was very much child friendly. Our three year old did not want to leave and loved the dolls house and the small castle to build. It held some lovely pieces to see. Great experience.
Thibaut B — Google review
We visited here as part of a group ticket with the Westgate Museum and Great Hall. The Museum has 3 floors, each covering a different time period - roughly the Iron Age/Roman city, the anglo Saxon and Medieval city and finally the Industrial Revolution city. There was lots to see and read on each floor and plenty of activities for kids too. We spent nearly 2 hours here so there's plenty to keep you busy. The staff were lovely as well, very welcoming.
Marcus H — Google review
I used to live fairly close to Winchester when I was much younger. But I could not understand why it was so very important. Centuries ago it was one of the hearts of medieval England. But now it is a mere shadow of its former self. I decided to spend some time in the Winchester City Museum to see if I could discover some of the secrets of the once great City. It was perhaps the beginning of a long trail of discovery. Of which the antiquated fragments seemed to merge together. Like a great wooden jigsaw puzzle. With corners and edges aligning to a mystic symmetry not previously guessed or imagined. At least not perceived by my feeble young intelligence I was very impressed with the news that the Winchester City Museum were connected to some important archeological digs. I would've very much liked to have been considered for one of the local excavations. And downstairs in the museums basement one of the staff proudly showed me what looked like a small lump of mud. Apparently the lump of mud had been discovered during a 'dig'. I hope that I didn't appear to be too ignorant to participate in contemplating the origins of this mysterious little lump. I almost had another unfortunate mishap were I couldn't see the price tags on the postcards. So I wrongly assumed that they were all free. Luckily the staff explained my error and I paid for the postcards before leaving the museum. Very helpful, friendly staff.
Xavier S — Google review
Small local museum over three floors containing artifacts ranging from the Roman period through to the modern era, with nice local additions. The museum is free to enter but there are donation boxes located throughout to help support its upkeep.
Adrian M — Google review
Love to visit historical place or museum for historical stuff. Love it. U can get enough history of Winchester from here. Even I enjoyed the live music those chaps were playing out in front of the museum

DO NOT MISS if you are an ancient church aficionado or architect. Spectacular amount original Norman work both interior and exterior. The fact that it is still an operating home for men is also fascinating. Beautiful gardens, lovely shop and attendant, excellent tea room. Could not ask for more!

The Hospital of St Cross in Winchester is one of England’s oldest charities, started around 1132 to help elderly men and feed travelers. It wasn’t a monastery but had its own land to keep things running. Visiting felt like stepping back into a time capsule, with amazing medieval buildings and a unique tradition where travelers get a free horn of beer and bread. Definitely a cool bit of history to check out.
Bloomy L — Google review
An incredible place. We stopped off for a tea and cake in the lovely tearooms, and learned all about the history of the Hospital of St Cross from the knowledgeable and friendly volunteers. The buildings are so beautiful, there is a lovely air of peacefulness. Thank you for the kind volunteers for giving us the history about this incredible place, and to the lovely porter who gave us our 'dole' (a piece of bread and drink, still given out to any who ask for it, after all of these hundreds of years!). A must visit.

Visitors can also enjoy traditional Christmas pantomimes during the festive season. The venue is housed in a charming former hotel built in 1850 and is considered one of the most beautiful theatres in southern England.
Lovely cosy theatre with surprisingly good leg room in the stalls. Very modern front of house. Easy to get served. Show was really good, acoustics were great and a fun evening was had. Staff were lovely also.
John B — Google review
Great theatre, enjoyed a performance of Dracula. Good facilities and staff friendly. Only quibble is that some of the side balcony seats should be advertised as having a restricted view as we could not see anything happening at the front corner, stage left where quite a lot was happening. We were able to move.
C O — Google review
Venue was lovely, but the Gruffalo child show was hard to follow from my 3yr old grandson's point of view. The costumes didn't reflect the characters. Maybe up close, but not from the back of the audience. The miming of the snake needed to be a proper proper if it was aimed at the younger audience. There was too much adult humour for a childs show. I would recommend age 5yrs upwards.
Susan C — Google review
A lovely little theatre. We have visited a few times to see some of the kids things which tour here, and it's a great way to introduce the little ones to the theatre. The auditorium itself is small but perfectly formed, which really means there are no bad seats. In the foyer areas there is a bar and usually a couple of stands selling programmes and ice cream. This is also small so can get a bit busy before performances, so don't plan on spending too much time at the theatre before your show. All in all every visit we have made to the Theatre Royal has been an enjoyable experience.

Winchester's Military Museums

Military Museums
Winchester's Military Museums are a collection of six military museums located in the historic Victorian Peninsula Barracks. These museums cover a wide range of military history, including the Gurkhas, the Hussars, and the Green Jackets. The area also houses Copper Joe's Cafe for visitors to grab a coffee or lunch. While these museums are great for military enthusiasts and casual travelers, they are more recommended for adults than young children.
My first visit to the museums I only managed the rifles museum this time but will definitely be returning. The history of the Regiment through the ages is fascinating. Told by exhibits from the period of time and deployment in the history. From the American war of independence .the battle of Waterloo. With is marvellous battle field model. Continuing into modern times. With exhibits of uniforms and weapons through the ages. And a vast array of medals and decorations. There are toilets. And stair lifts if required. And a cafe close by. And military shop.
John S — Google review
A wonderful group of museums set in beautiful buildings and pretty grounds. A huge collection of military history to look at including an impressive number of Victoria Crosses on display and a wonderful diorama of the Battle of Waterloo. Friendly and helpful staff.
Steve H — Google review
A really absorbing museum set within the original buildings is a fascinating half day visit for all ages. An easy walk uphill from the centre of the city so leave your car in the main car parks and relax in the many parks gardens and Cathedral.
Nigel H — Google review
Beware, there are two museums! One, on the right side, is FREE, but it's less than half the size of the first left one. The one on the left is much bigger, tells you a bit more about the wars and conflicts, luckily it's not just want the regiment. I didn't have much thing to go upstairs, but I enjoyed downstairs more, it's dedicated to the 20th century. The staff was dead friendly and happy to help with questions about history.
Ondra V — Google review
I walked into this place by accident whilst touring Winchester. And boy was it a surprise the greenery at the back is an absolute gem which I didn't expect to see. In terms of the actual museum it's reasonably priced and surprisingly big even in the exhibits which seem small from the outside. (Mainly pointing at the Horsepower exhibit with that comment) Very informative experience and I would go again.
Wing — Google review
Shame they're not joined up, as paying £30+ to visit them all is too much! However, interesting location and buildings and worth a nosey.
Fiona P — Google review
Well worth a visit to all the professionally laid out museums, each one being unique in their own way. All staff were so friendly , helpful and knowledgeable a big thank you to all of them. Whilst it was horrendous that there were 95,000 lost at the Battle of Waterloo, it is put into perspective nowadays by the loss of over 254,000 Russians in Ukraine presently. A theme running through the exhibits was when a conflict or war needed our British involvement, was how unprepared and lack equipment this country was, due to the lack of political will to spend money on our military. This lack of foresight shines through today with our efforts to help Ukraine.

Marwell Zoo

Marwell Zoo, located in Winchester, is a sprawling 140-acre park that houses over 170 different species of exotic and endangered animals. Visitors can explore the African Plains and jungles of Asia and South America while observing animals like leopards, penguins, rhinos, tigers, giraffes, zebras, snow leopards and more.
Went for my birthday as I love animals! The last time I went was when I was a young child. I Was really happy to see the penguins were still there, and I got to see the monkeys, snow leopard, lemurs and some beautiful birds. Sadly wasn't able to see the sloth or the tiger. Staff were very kind, and generally the place is accessibility friendly.

Decent medium-sized Zoo, with a wide range of animals. Giraffes, snow leopard, rhinos, Lemurs, ostriches, and more. Catering prices were reasonable. Layout not very intuitive though - plan your route around. On a fairly steep hill. Staff friendly and helpful.

Brought the family here on an inset day so it was quieter and we all had a wonderful time. I thought the grounds were very clean, the staff was friendly and helpful. Only complaint is the food and drinks are quite pricey but that's expected. Next time we'll opt to bring our own lunches as they offer picnic areas.
Kevin — Google review
This was my first trip, and we visited as a large group but split up in to small groups. Tickets were pre-purchased in advance, which made entry quick and easy. There was plenty of car parking available. Staff I saw were friendly & helpful. Despite low expectations set by friends, I found this place to be fantastic. The animals appeared well cared for, and we managed to see all the ones we hoped to—and more. There are lots of picnic spots and climbing areas for children, which made it very family-friendly. Food and gift shop items were reasonably priced. The only downside was that it was a hot day and all the drinks we bought from the cafe there were warm due to broken fridges—an issue we were told has been ongoing. While this didn’t ruin our experience, it did feel like a waste of money. I’d recommend bringing your own picnic and would definitely visit again.

lovely day out with the little one. thoroughly enjoyed. lots of animals to see and lots of areas for the little one to explore. some food bars with "normal" food would be nice. chips, hotdogs, burgers etc. but bought own picnic so was ok.

Big zoo, plenty to do, been wanting to take the kids for ages and didn't disappoint at all. Easily can spend 4-5hrs there. A lot of walking due to size of zoo. Plenty for kids to do, nice little parks and a cafe area with a good view. Will be going back at some point.
Brent S — Google review
What a great Zoo as Zoos go. Animals have plenty of space in their enclosures with many of them being out to be seen. The Lego feature currently on show is great with guess the mammoth bring much entertainment. The little zoo tour on the overland train is worth doing. Be prepared to walk a few steps and enjoy.

Had a brilliant day out here. The park is really well designed so there's a chance to see the animals from different sides. Staff are all really friendly and helpful.

Restaurant
Rick Stein, Winchester is a sophisticated and diverse dining establishment in Winchester, England. Owned by Rick Stein, it offers a wide range of dining options including seafood dishes like fish curry and fish pie, as well as land-based options inspired by Rick's travels around the world. The restaurant brings a taste of Cornwall to Winchester and is popular among food enthusiasts for its fresh seafood offerings. With its modern atmosphere and varied menu, it caters to diners of all ages with an extensive selection of culinary experiences.
I had the pleasure of dining at Rick Stein Winchester and it was an outstanding experience from start to finish. The restaurant itself is beautifully presented, and the food was absolutely delicious – fresh, full of flavour, and cooked to perfection. The waiting staff were polite, attentive, and always smiling, which created such a warm and welcoming atmosphere. They went above and beyond to make my mother’s birthday a truly special occasion, which made the evening even more memorable. While the seafood and fish dishes are truly exceptional, the menu also offers a fantastic variety of meats and vegetarian options, making it a great choice for everyone. I would strongly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a high-quality dining experience in Winchester. A real gem!

My first visit at a Rick Stein in Winchester for dinner and the food was mediocre for me. The Daal I had ordered was too bland in flavour since I prefer a bit more spice to my food. The Fish and Shashimi was great. The starter portions are small but since we were sharing and ordered different dishes between us we got to try more dishes, the mains are a decent amount. That said, the service truly stood out: Micky who looked after us was extremely friendly, attentive, and warm from start to finish. The staff made the evening feel special, even if the dishes didn’t quite shine. Worth a visit for the atmosphere and hospitality.

Restaurant Review This restaurant is a solid choice. The staff are smart, friendly, and very attentive, and the service is quick. The food is clearly fresh and handmade, right down to the sauces, and while it isn't Michelin-star quality, it's tasty and fresh—perfect for a satisfying meal. However, a few minor details could be improved. The bread was served cold with rock-solid butter, which was a bit of a letdown. While the fish and chips were fresh and tasty, you can find better options in London. Overall, it's a great spot that deserves a solid 4 out of 5 stars.

This is our second time we have set lunch at a Rick Stein’s eatery. Yet our experience this time is kind of disappointing. The crust of chicken Katsu curry is crispy at all and the curry sauce is too sweet and too few. The chocolate pavé is also too salty in my humble opinion. However, I must admit that we have not tried its a la carte menu and dishes for the others tables do look far more appealing.

Some of the best food I've eaten at a Restaurant. Give this place a Michelin star already! Incredibly tasty Scallops, Seafood curry and a 'Winchester Pudding' which was a lovely local touch and paired perfectly with the accompanying clotted cream. Yes, it's expensive but it's worth every penny. Special mention goes out to Ali Ali, our excellent waiter.

😋Amazing food, service and atmosphere. It is expensive but we'll worth it for quality and flavours of the food. A must visit but make sure you book.

Visited Monday 20 October - fantastic meal here offering surprising value for money. But the star of the show was our waiter (I think his name was Ed) we were a large group just walking in with no booking and from start to finish his approach was first class. Great food wonderful service if you have not been to this lovely restaurant I would highly recommend you do. Thanks for a lovely evening.

The Chesil Rectory

English restaurant
The Chesil Rectory is a charming restaurant located in a 600-year-old Grade II listed medieval building in Winchester. It has been voted as the restaurant of the year and offers modern British cuisine in a dining room adorned with original features like oak beams and open fireplaces. The menu features creative dishes such as ballantine of duck, peppered local venison, ham hock terrine, and pan-fried hake.
It's an incredible setting (try for a window seat to get a great view of King Arthur!). The meals are of the highest quality & the wine list is perfect! But the very best thing about the Chesil Rectory is the quality of the service! Simply outstanding! We went for South African wine dinner that was, as usual, absolutely perfect!! Update - went back - chose from the a la carte menu - it was even better!! Wouldn't have thought that was possible!!

We went as a celebration of our Wedding Anniversary. This is superb restaurant. I hope to go again and thoroughly recommend it. Very good service, just the right amount of interaction and care. Very nice food . Good wines and a lovely historical building.

We came here to celebrate my husband’s birthday and had an excellent experience. Booking was very easy and confirmed straight away. The location is very convenient, right next to a multi-storey car park. Drinks were great and even the easy bites were full of flavour. I had the lamb dish – the meat was beautifully tender with no strong lamb smell, and the potato-mash with tomatoes pieces and garlic chips gave it a lovely sweet, sour and savoury balance. The cheese plate was more standard, but the Port Wine was excellent. A wonderful surprise was the birthday message on the plate, which came with complimentary sweets – such a thoughtful touch! The restaurant is set in a beautifully decorated old house, which gives a real sense of dining in a historic place. Everything is well organised and the tables are spaced comfortably. We truly enjoyed the dinner and would highly recommend this restaurant for a special occasion.

A superb restaurant serving high quality dishes with an extensive selection of wines. The autumnal tasting menu was delicious, especially the Velouté and Partridge courses. Knowledgeable and friendly front of house team and the classy cosy atmosphere was expectional. Highly recommend and be sure to reserve in advance.

Loved this gorgeous, historic, atmospheric place, with classic, yet adventurous, food. Erika was so lovely even after super long day for her, I am sure (as i had very late lunch here). Chicken terrine with microherbs and shitake mushrooms was a thing of beauty. Their upstairs area is gorgeous. So if you are 4 or more, ask to sit upstairs.
L A — Google review
I booked and went solo, since I'm travelling on my own. I was ragingly curious about the building, and wanted a meal that definitely didn't come with "fries", or bacon. Was not immediately put next to the loos, so plus marks for that. The building is from the 1450s or so, low ceilings, small doors, creaky and undulating boards taken from old ships (often used at the time: making planks with ye olde tools would have been a pain, even if you had plenty of wood). Charm, charm, charm. Tall men stooped until seated. You step down into the building from outside, so when seated in the front ground floor rooms you look through the window with your head at about the knee-level of passing pedestrians: novel! I saw a bit of upstairs, equally gorgeous. This would be a great option for a special occasion out, or just a wonderful indulgence. I was treated well, and given *excellent* advice about wine pairings. I had trout for entree, which was tasty and delicate; then the lamb, a stronger flavour, both lamb and alliums, but well-balanced, cooked well (neither raw nor overdone) and delicious. Then the brandy snaps with the recommended dessert wine, which together - and individually - were amazing. It was not cheap, but really worth it. It was too classy a place to take photos, but I could've driven my foodie friends nuts with envy, I think. Other guests were primarily couples. I wasn't made uncomfortable.
Margaret — Google review
The food was fantastic and the staff were very friendly, especially Craig who made us laugh with small spoons!! At the end a lovely tour to see the very old building quirks, with a nice splash of history! Thank you, looking forward to returning again next year!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Absolutely Unforgettable Dining Experience I honestly don’t even know where to begin — this was hands down the best food I’ve ever had in my life. Every single dish was perfection — from the first bite to the last. The flavours were so fresh and beautifully balanced, and you can tell how much care goes into every detail of the presentation. The sashimi was melt-in-your-mouth soft, the sauces were rich but never overpowering, and the dessert was the perfect ending. Every course felt like a little piece of art. The atmosphere was calm and elegant, the plating was stunning, and the staff were so kind and attentive without being overbearing. It’s rare to find somewhere that gets everything so right — food, service, and overall vibe. If you’re looking for a meal that truly wows you and leaves you speechless, this is the place. I’d give it 10 stars if I could. I’ll be dreaming about this meal for a long time.

This was an unbelievable meal. My best friend have a huge love for sushi so we chose Kyoto kitchen to try less mainstream chain sushi restaurants. The Otoro was out of this world melt in your mouth accompanied with freshly ground wasabi. The homemade soy sauce was just incredible and so flavourful. We also had scallops and aubergine which was delightful to eat. We also had the salmon tartare roll which was easily one of the best sushi rolls I’ve ever had in my life. The signature roll was tasty however the tuna in it wasn’t raw which was a surprise. Our waiter was Sul who made the entire experience. He was incredibly knowledgeable and helped us get the most out of our order. Finally we had the banana tempura with rhubarb and rosehip ice cream. We also had a little taste of the salted caramel whisky sauce which was out of this world good. I would highly recommend this restaurant if you like high quality sushi. Can’t wait to return and try the Omakase. Thank you Kyoto kitchen

Kyoto Kitchen Lunch Set Review I recently tried the Kyoto Kitchen lunch set, priced at £25 for three courses. I opted for the Zensai Mixed Starter, the Chirashi Sushi Bowl, and Coconut Ice Cream. The Zensai Mixed Starter was a pleasant beginning – four different bite-sized dishes on one plate, offering a nice variety and well-presented flavours. The main course, Chirashi Sushi Bowl, was described on the menu as “Ten pieces of Chef’s choice sashimi slices, marinated in a rich soy sauce served on sushi rice”. However, when I counted – including the spring onions, ginger, and wasabi – there were only nine items in total, two of which were tamago (sweet omelette). The sashimi slices were so thin they were almost translucent, and the portion felt noticeably stingy. While £25 for a set lunch is very good value, if portion sizes are being restricted for cost reasons, I would personally prefer to pay a little more for a standard portion. This left me quite disappointed. The Coconut Ice Cream came as a surprise in terms of quantity – two scoops instead of the one I was expecting – and it was refreshing, though for my taste it was on the sweeter side, which slightly upset the overall balance of the meal. In summary, if you simply want to enjoy the atmosphere of a fine Japanese restaurant at a lower price point and are not overly concerned with the quality or portion sizes, it’s worth a try.

Just when you thought international food in Winchester couldn't get much better, enter Kyoto Kitchen. The next in a linr of successful ventures in Winchester for the owner, this one tops it all. Exquisite sushi - melt-in-the-mouth Sashimi. Wonderfully well informed staff will tell you in detail about every dish. And home grown Wasabi.. If you have never had true wasabi, this place is worth visiting for only that! We enjoyed the Green Tea and the Dynamite Oshizushi. And the Mackrel. Oh oh the Mackral. Thank you Kyoto Kitchen.

OMAKASE EXPERIENCE We had an outstanding meal during this Omakase experience. Chef Shintaro Ito is an excellent host and this is the best food I have ever eaten. We are very lucky to have this level of experience available in Winchester. (It is very good value for money too)

Excellent food. Better than my local Japanese restaurant but more expensive. It was worth the extra money though. Perhaps the best part of the experience was how friendly and attentive the staff were. Seriously good. Amazing recommendations for pairing things like gin or sake with food. The wasabi leaves were a revelation. The Winchester rolls were a seriously great flavour combo. Thank you to the staff. A lovely evening.

My friend and I shared the following from the A La Carte menu and found the food delicious and satifying EBI TEMPURA Vanamei prawns coated and cooked with tempura batter. Lightly battered and deep fried so it is crunchy on SOFT SHELL the outside yet CRAB remarkably TEMPURA succulent. SALMONSASHIMI (4 PIECES) SCALLOPSASHIMI (4 PIECES) CHICKEN TERIYAKIAge-mono style - cooked with a crispy coating and then pan- tossed with caramelised teriyaki sauce.

The restaurant chain's venues boast stunning historical views and are ideal for social and private gatherings. This establishment truly understands how to cater to a variety of tastes, offering a thoughtfully created menu that is anything but dull. Each dish is prepared to perfection, bursting with flavours and creativity that will ignite your palate. The staff here are not only exceptionally well-trained but also genuinely friendly, providing attentive service that feels natural and welcoming. If you're in Winchester, this spot is a must-visit. Though the prices are a bit higher than your average neighbourhood eatery, the experience is well worth it for anyone wanting a stylish dinner with delicious food. You won’t regret spending a little extra for a memorable meal out. We kicked off our meal with refreshing Sassy Cider from Normandy, accompanied by a delightful Crispy Duck Salad and Oak Smoked Salmon as starters. Both were outstanding! For our mains, we savoured the Pan Roasted Salmon and Steak & Chips, finishing with an incredible Sticky Toffee Pudding and an Apple Tart Fine that was flambéed right at our table. In conclusion, The Ivy Winchester Brasserie is truly a remarkable venue. The attentive staff, exceptional food, and vibrant atmosphere create an unforgettable dining experience. It may not have been a special occasion, but it certainly became a lasting memory. Don’t miss out on this gem!

Lovely setting for lunch. We sat outside and watched the world go by. The waitress was lovely and really helpful. They had a separate vegan and vegetarian menu with plenty of choice. The food was delicious, so were the cocktails.
Rachel W — Google review
Unfortunately I cannot recommend the afternoon tea. We really wanted it to be knock out and the look and ambience was great. We scored each item on the cake stand and the savoury items and really couldn’t score anything over a 4/10. The chicken and truffle brioche was a very curious flavour, egg sandwich bland and the bread dense , the smoked salmon in the choux pastry lacked balance and over salted. Crème brule had no caramel crunch on top, it was just all liquid, scones were small and over cooked making them very dry on the outside. The centre was just about ok. That’s probably enough of the negative. There are positives. The staff were very friendly and attentive and the overall look of the items and decoration was very nice. The food looked like it was good from the look of it. I don’t think it helped that the afternoon tea seemed to of been prepared long in advance and put in the fridge.

A lovely experience. I came for breakfast with my family and we were all amazed from the get-go. The service couldn’t have been better, our waiter was attentive and kind. Our food was delicious (and I was pleasantly surprised with an extra dessert). I would definitely recommend, and I plan on coming back to experience the same place for dinner.

We had the most lovely evening! Georgia has been looking after us in the most perfect way. I can recommend everything but particularly the zucchini fritters, blackened cod and the creme brûlée - maybe the best one I have ever had!

We visited to celebrate a graduation and had pre-selected the graduation menu when booking. However, when we were seated, we were only given the à la carte menu, and I had to request the correct one. Once sorted, the food itself was very nice — though a few dishes weren’t quite to my personal taste. I ordered the chips, which unfortunately reminded me of pub-style chips, but at a much higher price. The steak was cooked well but came with no sides, which all had to be ordered separately. Service was friendly but quite slow at times; it took around 20 minutes just to pay the bill, and by then most of our group had already left. In fact, my husband had to go and find someone so we could settle up — if we hadn’t been honest, we probably could have walked out unnoticed. Overall, the food was enjoyable, but the experience could be improved with more attentive service and better value for money.
Cassandra B — Google review
The food was really good @# was the venue and it's everything you would expect of the Ivy group. However, the service was extremely slow and we had to keep asking for things as they were not brought out. Drinks, Apperatiis, starters etc. Evening though they took some money off the bill as they acknowledged the fell short, there was still mistakes with the items on the bill. In summary, not the greatest experience...

Myself and my partner had a reservation here for our four year anniversary. The staff were very friendly upon arrival and wished us a happy anniversary as I mentioned it in the booking notes. The service was quick and efficient and the food was absolutely divine. We were even treated to an anniversary dessert on the house, which was a massive surprise but much appreciated. An absolutely marvellous experience as I would definitely be coming again!

This is one of the best restaurants I have been to. Food was amazing, the staff, especially the waitress was super friendly and bubbly. It made all the difference it really did. She interacted with my children, the food was piping hot and served within a reasonable timescale. This was a birthday meal for my daughters and we are not from the area but so pleased we picked this restaurant. I will definitely be coming back next year for sure! We had a lovely cocktail too. Delicious food and outstanding service.

The restaurant had a nice atmosphere at first, but that changed when a very large party arrived, making it unbearably noisy and chaotic. It completely disrupted the dining experience. On the positive side, the food was good, and both the chicken and beef are halal. We tried a few dishes, all of which were well-prepared. However, the overall experience was disappointing due to the excessive noise, and I wouldn’t return. We would like to thank Ali, our waiter, who made an extra effort to make our experience pleasant despite the shouting guest.

Had a really great meal for my Dads birthday today. The service was really efficient and entertaining, the food was excellent and the atmosphere felt suitable. My only complaint would be theres very little indication to the spiciness of some dishes. Some are extremely hot whilst others are very mild. But all in all a great experience!

We really enjoyed our lunch here, the location is very central and the views from our table across the street make it a fun place to sit. We all had the lunch tapas set meals, which were very good sized portions and a good range of flavours. I really enjoyed the squid! Well priced for tasty food. The service was good all the way through the meal and the staff were very polite. We look forward to trying this out for dinner next time.

We enjoyed a breakfast here, the food was really good, fresh tasting ingredients and some great choices. I particularly enjoyed the smoked trout in a roll. The service was a little disjointed, food came before drinks and we had to ask for cutlery. We ate outside and the view down the high street was lovely to look at. Ordering was very easy in the hatch on the front of the restaurant. Would recommend for a meal out in Winchester.

The restaurant boasts a chic interior featuring pristine white walls, geometric carpets, and tasteful pendant lighting that create a warm yet sophisticated vibe. Vibrant red tapestries adorn the tall windows while clusters of emerald furniture add a splash of color to the space.
I have to say, this is easily one of the best Indian restaurants I’ve ever been to. The service from the staff is attentive, good. The food is tasty, and well presented. Based on the above criteria, i would come here again. Based on price point, probabaly not - read below. I am a visitor to Winchester, where i take in account of (1) past google reviews and (2) pricing at the resturant window - where pricing is similar to other southern asian cuisine resturant near by. When we went in, ordered drinks, the food menu prices were updated - items that we had was cira 10% to 30% higher (depending on item). I would advise the resturanter window menu be amended with current one priced menu.

Disappointing Experience – Not Authentic We had a chance to visit this Indian restaurant in Winchester and were quite disappointed. The food was not authentic Indian — it lacked real flavor and felt like a poor attempt at traditional cuisine. While the staff were rude, which made the whole experience uncomfortable. It felt like they were shouting across the table, and it really disrupted the dining atmosphere. On top of that, some staff members kept staring at us, making it hard to even enjoy our meal in peace. Overall, the food and experience fell well below expectations. Would not recommend if you’re looking for genuine Indian Authentic food.

We stayed for one night as we passed through Winchester. A family of 3 with a baby. We thought with this being an upmarket place it might not be the most baby friendly, but the room was set out with a very nice cot and baby change station. We stayed in one of the garden suites, which was perfect as we had a bit of quiet outdoor space to enjoy a drink while in earshot of the baby. The room was spacious and well set out. We only ate breakfast there which was good if a little pricey.

We had a great stay here at the start of our South Downs Way walk. It's perfect for exploring the city. The staff are very kind, the chef is good,& the rooms are clean & well-furnished. It's also dog-frienly.The courtyard garden is a lovely spot to dine in. An extra check in person/ computer would be wise as there was a queue.

Built in 1715, this Georgian beauty has seen centuries of stories unfold — and I’m delighted mine was one of them.. From the moment I stepped through the elegant entrance on Southgate Street, I felt like a character in a well-written novel: warmly welcomed, subtly pampered, and treated like someone of delightful importance (without needing a crown or a title). The staff were exceptional — not just professionally polished, but genuinely kind, helpful, and wonderfully human. It’s rare to feel so seen in a hotel, and rarer still to feel like you’re part of the place’s rhythm. The building itself is a character. Originally the Southgate Hotel, it was transformed in 1994 by hospitality visionaries Robin Hutson and Gerard Basset, who wanted to create something refreshingly different — a boutique hotel that offered great food, great wine, and great vibes without the fuss. They succeeded! Hotel du Vin Winchester became the birthplace of a now-iconic brand, and it still carries that pioneering spirit. My room was a cozy blend of historic charm and modern comfort, with thoughtful touches that made me smile. The wine list? As expected from a place named du Vin — curated with love and knowledge. There’s something magical about staying in a place where the walls have stories, the staff have heart, and the experience feels tailored just for you. Hotel du Vin Winchester is a hug wrapped in Georgian brickwork, served with a side of excellent wine and a wink of British wit. Would I return? Absolutely!

Perfect location in the heart of Winchester. French style decoration. On site pub! Bistro is very high quality! I love the garden and smoking spot. Must try if you are in lovely Winchester of Wessex.

We booked the HDV at short notice for my son's 21st birthday after being let down by another restaurant. More fool us, as we should have booked the HDV in the first place. There was nothing not to love, and the service from Aeina was outstanding. She was a credit to herself and the HDV

We ate here first my partners birthday. We could not fault anything, the building is beautiful, our server Tom G was wonderful and a credit to the restaurant, the service was efficient and courteous, our food was delicious and a much larger portion than our local branch. We were not rushed and had a wonderful time. Thank you.

Pizza was soooo crispy and full of flavour. Izzie suggested the best food and was so accommodating!! She really made our visit worth the trek from Fareham.

Meeting with brother, sister and partners - one with limited mobility. Tallulah was absolutely brilliant - cheerful, helpful, good sense of humour AND very patient with us! Thank you so much - we had a lovely time! And the food was so delicious! Unfortunately the coffee machine wasn’t working - but apart from that - a brilliant time.

Thanks Izzie for the amazing service! We love the new look

Good food, faultless service, nice feel to the place. I've had to mark down the overall rating as six main dishes unavailable - four of them pizzas. And this was lunchtime! Full marks to staff for explaining this immediately.

The Old Vine

Mentioned on

Hotel
Bar
The Old Vine is a charming hotel located in an 18th-century inn at the heart of Winchester. With only six rooms, it offers a peaceful retreat with views of the cathedral and the square. The rooms are elegantly decorated with a mix of Victorian, Art Deco, Arts & Crafts, and contemporary elements, showcasing original Georgian plaster panelling.
I came here with my wife around midday to try the food. I had the pie of the day (chicken and ham) & my wife mussels. As a culinary chef I find it difficult to find food that is actually worth paying the money. This place hits every single expectation of a chef. The gravy is fantastic, perfectly balanced and seasoned to perfection. The pastry was light and didn’t have a soggy bottom! If I was to pick on the smallest most single thing just to be ‘that guy’ the parsley garnish could be finer. But damn that’s me really struggling to find a fault. The mussels were prepared correctly with a beautiful sauce, light and fragrant. I absolutely will be back and would love to shadow the chef to help develop my own practices. The staff behind the bar are friendly (Mitch especially), great atmosphere, appropriate music, nice decor. Well done chef.

Overnight DBB visit after a day exploring Winchester was great. Clean, comfortable and cosy. Bar staff were friendly and accommodating as indeed the restaurant ... Food was really nice and plenty of it. I'd recommend anyone considering here to go for it. Parking wasn't really an issue as the pay and display multistorey isn't too far away. Location is wonderful. Breakfast in the room was fantastic. Quality food well done 👏

This was our second time eating here and both times we have had a wonderful meal at The Old Vine and were served by Danny and Em, who really made our evening. My partner and I are big burger fans, and the Hampshire beef and pork burger did not disappoint — perfectly cooked and served with hot, crispy, seasoned fries. Danny was so helpful with menu recommendations and accommodating our dietary needs, and both Danny and Em took the time to make sure we were happy and had everything we needed. Excellent food and genuinely lovely service — highly recommend and will definitely be returning!

I came in for lunch yesterday around 12 noon without a reservation, and i was served by a young man called Danny. He was attentive and made sure everything was clean and sorted on my table despite looking quite busy with other things. I had a ploughmans with ciabatta and the bread was lovely and soft. I felt comfortable to ask questions, i Look forward to coming back!

This was easily one of the best burgers I've ever had ... the meat was such high quality, you don't need any filler ingredients. The fish pie and pulled pork sliders were freaken amazing as well. I was hoping they had their meat pie (I drove back here for it) but they changed their menu (also they are child/dog friendly, and you have to book in advance).
Dbmz — Google review
What can we say! Emailed to enquire what meat was served for the roast this Sunday as it said to enquire due to the weekly rotation they do. Had an email back from Ashton confirming it was beef so we booked online , it does say once its fone its gone. I replied to Ashton to say thank you , we have booked and just hope some is left when we arrived as we were traveling to visit family, the response we recieved was a note would be added in the hope they might be able to keep back for us but no promises which is absolutely fair. We drove straight to the pub after a 3 hour drive to be greeting by the friendliest of staff members who also informed us they had infact kept back 2 roasts for us as they had sold out the hour before! What service and kindness. Emily, what an asset you are, friendly, welcoming and full of local knowledge and recommendations. Will definitely be back.

We booked a table for 10 people on Saturday 8th November and we're not disappointed. The food and service was absolutely excellent. We had a couple of servers and they did an excellent job and nothing was too much trouble. All the food was hot and delicious. Thank you, we will return!

Heathrow Airport

International airport
Airport
Heathrow Airport is an international hub in London, featuring a terminal designed by Richard Rogers and an express train link. It's located in the London borough, stretching from Chiswick to Feltham and bordering other southwest London boroughs. The airport has multiple terminals, including Terminal 2, known as the Queen's terminal. Visitors can explore the terminals via the efficient Heathrow Express train. The airport boasts long corridors with self-check-in kiosks and baggage drop counters.
It’s my second time flying from Heathrow. Today from terminal 5. I am blown away by the cleanliness and efficiencies of the place. So many shops with any kind of stuff, restaurants. If you forgot to take something from home don’t worry they will have your back. Amazing, huge and busy airport but run very smoothly and fast. I was able to buy some cosmetics in boots. I went to wagamama to have a lunch and coffee, also went to Itsu to have something for take away. Amazing ! I have the Heathrow app to collect the points whenever I purchase something on the airport. To get there from London is easy too, you just take one national express bus from Victoria coach station, it takes around 1h and 15 minutes. Very convenient.

This Review is for terminal, If you going for a flight to US, American Airlines usually use Terminal 3. BE AWARE that this airport is HUGE , is the TOP 5 busiest airport in the world , signs are not big or friendly to see, you get distracted with the crowds and too many stores. From security to my door took me 20 minutes at fast walking, I have to pass about 20 doors, and my door (40) was at the end of the terminal

Heathrow Airport is one of the busiest in the world, and it definitely feels that way. While it offers a wide range of shops, dining, and services, the airport can be very crowded, and immigration checks often take a long time, especially during peak hours. The facilities are modern and well-maintained, but the overall experience can be tiring due to the rush and long waiting times.
Ahmed A — Google review
London Heathrow Airport’s Terminal 2 — also known as the Queen’s Terminal — offers excellent accessibility, clean and functional facilities, and a strong sense of style. The free Wi-Fi is very helpful for getting oriented when you first arrive. One of the most economical ways to get into central London is via the Underground (Piccadilly Line) from Terminal 2. You can tap in and out with a contactless credit or debit card, and this often proves more cost-effective than a taxi, especially given London traffic. The station is clean and well maintained, and the restrooms are tidy too. Throughout the terminal, staff are friendly, professional, and very knowledgeable. Terminal 2 also features luxury brands like Louis Vuitton and Burberry in its shops. Beyond shopping, there’s a great variety of restaurants too — elegant options like Le Café Cyril Lignac (inside the Louis Vuitton store), as well as popular names such as Big Smoke Taphouse & Kitchen and Shan Shui, offering hearty pub classics and refined Asian cuisine, respectively. One small improvement: the T2 elevator floor labeling could be improved to avoid confusion (instead of from -1, to 1 to 0 and to 5) as clearer numbering would make navigation simpler. As for security screening, Heathrow is gradually rolling out advanced scanners that let you leave liquids and laptops in your bag in certain lanes, though this is still being phased in. Overall, Terminal 2 at Heathrow feels modern, efficient, and well maintained — a very positive experience that easily deserves a five-star rating.

✈️ My Visit to Heathrow Airport, London My experience at Heathrow Airport, one of the world’s busiest airports, was smooth and efficient. The airport is vast, modern, and well-organized, with five terminals serving international and domestic flights. Signage is clear, making navigation straightforward, and the staff were helpful throughout check-in and security. Heathrow offers a wide range of shops, duty-free stores, restaurants, lounges, and amenities, ensuring a comfortable experience whether you’re departing, arriving, or in transit. Free Wi-Fi and charging stations made it easy to stay connected, and the terminals are clean and well-maintained. Visitor Tips: Arrive early due to security checks and busy terminals. Use the Heathrow Express or London Underground (Piccadilly line) for quick access to central London. Pre-booking lounges can enhance your waiting experience. How to Reach: Heathrow is located about 23 km west of central London. It’s well-connected via the Heathrow Express (15–20 minutes to Paddington), London Underground Piccadilly Line, taxis, buses, and ride-sharing services. Overall, Heathrow Airport is a world-class travel hub — efficient, modern, and convenient, providing a smooth start or end to any London journey.

Smooth landing into Terminal 3. Immigration was efficient, signage intuitive, and baggage claim surprisingly swift. Staff were mostly reserved. Customs was uneventful. Tip: hydrate, wear comfy shoes, and brace for the long trek to ground transport. Would arrive again—preferably with fewer bags and more leg strength.

I have been to Heathrow Airport multiple times, but my most recent time (and the time relevant to this review) is the time when I flew to Denver International and back for my trip there. For this trip I flew from Terminal 2 (The Queen’s Terminal). Heathrow is really easy for me to get to as it is more West London, as opposed to Gatwick and Stansted which are on the other side to me. Heathrow is very accessible and is very simple to get through. Obviously many food spots too and Terminal 2 is good for food.
Samuel W — Google review
Heathrow Airport is the busiest and one of the most well-connected airports in the UK, offering a smooth and efficient travel experience for both domestic and international passengers. With five terminals, it serves hundreds of destinations worldwide and hosts nearly all major global airlines. The airport is clean, well-organized, and features excellent signage for easy navigation. Facilities include a wide range of shops, dining options, lounges, and duty-free stores. Security is generally well-managed, though queues can be long during peak hours. Transport links to central London via the Heathrow Express, Underground, and buses are convenient and reliable. Overall, Heathrow offers a high-standard, world-class airport experience.
