Phra Chedi Klang Nam (Samut Chedi)

Mentioned on
7 lists
Pagoda
Religious destination
Phra Chedi Klang Nam, also known as Samut Chedi, is a striking white stupa located in Rayong Province, just 2 kilometers outside of Rayong City. Situated in the middle of the mouth of the Rayong River, this magnificent temple offers insights into Thailand's Buddhist culture.
A very quiet spot to enjoy nature — so peaceful, with fewer people around. There are small local shops selling drinks and snacks. Some people come here to exercise, while others enjoy sightseeing. You can take long walks and stop at pavilions to rest along the way. It’s a nice place to relax and listen to the birds singing. Restrooms and parking are available, and the entrance is free. 27/08/2025

I walk down the river to view regularly then walk around the Mangrove forest looking for the Blue birds. Lucky if you see they are very shy of Farang
Teacher W — Google review
It is a small shrine by a river. The day we went there was a boat race so made it interesting. Bathrooms very clean. Did not have much time to walk the mangrove boardwalk.
Koko C — Google review
Phra Chedi Klang Nam, also known as the Floating Pagoda, is a prominent landmark in Rayong, Thailand. It is a unique structure built on a small island in the middle of the Mae Nam (river) Rayong. The pagoda appears to "float" when the river's water level rises during the rainy season. It's a popular attraction for both locals and tourists due to its picturesque setting and cultural significance. It was a good visit to the pagoda , especially the nearby bridge walk where you will see a lot of mangrove trees surrounded by the Pagoda. If you reach there early morning or evening , you will really enjoy the walk , else at day time it was really hot. Don't forget to take water and a hat at day time.
Pamela W — Google review
You can walk on the long wooden bridge and also can do a boat tour with 500B for half an hour until to the end of the river. Along the river, enjoy mangrove forest and beautiful birds.
Khin H — Google review
Nice place to relax. You can now also walk over footbridges along the river and the mangroves. With a bit of luck, you can also spot a few monitor lizards. It is a very beautiful place and exciting at the same time to experience the exotic animal world.
Michael ( — Google review
Nice long path way to stroll around. When I visited here, the water level was low and could see the bottom of the soil. There are may trees that give visitors some shade while walking. Nothing much beside walking along the trail. Wear sneakers than sandals as the gap between wooden pave making me trip so often🤣
Salilla N — Google review
Fatatastic place. Good place for walking trail, running, see nature. fresh breeze. Hot during the day. Recommended in the moring or in the evening

Yomjinda Rd is a picturesque old town street in Rayong, Thailand, featuring traditional wooden houses, street food stalls, and charming cafes. The road runs parallel to the river and has been restored to showcase teak buildings with significant Chinese influence. Visitors can start their exploration at the King Taksin Shrine and continue on to see the City Pillar and Wat Pa Pradu. This historic area was once the main commercial community of Rayong, housing banks, cinemas, and markets.
Experience how world changed and grew. Visible reminiscent of the past …
Pawan ( — Google review
Cute old town area with murals, street art. Lots of lovely cafés and lunch spots. Homemade crafts to buy.
Faith — Google review
You don't have to go there specifically, as most stores are closed and there are few people.
Yun F — Google review
The old community with a history, as it was the former Rayong main road, where there are several old wooden houses, almost 100 years old. This place used to be the main cimmercial community and the location of banks, cinemas, markets, until the country changed. Currently, this tourist attraction in cultural conservation It is an old street in Rayong. reawakened for tourists to experience the aura of the old atmosphere of Yomjinda Road
Dr W — Google review
Yomjinda Road in the old city of Rayong was simply a dissappointment. It was Monday midday when we visited there and many or even most of the shops were closed. Okay, it is not anymore the high season of tourism but, then, the historic notability of the road should be reflected at least some way - with or without tourists. The shrine, a Chinese temple, on the road was in my opinion the most interesting place on Yomjinda Road.
Hannu T — Google review
Because of covid not much to do, still interesting place

Wat Pa Pradu Phra Aram Luang

Mentioned on
6 lists
Buddhist temple
Sights & Landmarks
Wat Pa Pradu is an ancient temple in Rayong, dating back to the Ayutthaya period. The main attraction is a large reclining Buddha image, measuring 11.95 meters long and 3.6 meters high, which lies on its left-hand side - a rare feature. The temple grounds also feature smaller statues for worship or photography, guard dragons, and a central entry pillar with Buddha imagery.
We came here on 2 May 2025. A nice peaceful temple area. Clean surroundings. Lots of parking 🅿️ spaces. We were fortunate to come here 🙏🏻
Christopher L — Google review
Perhaps this Temple's most notable feature is the small reclining buddha. There are several very large assembly halls here, and I was able to enter two of the buildings to see shrines. Several people received council and blessings from one of the monks.
Miles M — Google review
Wat Pa Pradu is probably the most famous of Rayong's Buddhist temples, one of those must visit places in Rayong, locating in the centre of the city. The reclining Buddha of the temple is not very big but it is made very different style as more famous recliner buddhas. Wat Pa Pradu is of course worth of visit.
Hannu T — Google review
nice, compact temple grounds with 3 or 4 other statues for worship or photos. the main attraction is the 12 meter reclining Buddha. mostly noted for age and being a rare left side reclining figure. the main statue building has several other smaller statues. guard dragons, and buddha at the center entry pillar, an area at the feet of the reclining Buddha with 3 worship stones, small feet replica and several smaller statues grouped together. of photo note a good view of the length from the head can be take from the outside thru a window. there is a gift shop area outside along with some other worship options such as floating flower candles.
Jaek W — Google review
Old temple in the center of Rayong, which has several interesting buildings. Temple itself has been changed for tourism and people who come to pray, practicing and get blessed.
Anuchit B — Google review
The only Wat in Thailand, where Buddha lay on the left side. Very nice Temple of a King Class A. went here about 5 or 6 Times already
Michael K — Google review
Every time I come to Rayong, I always come to pay respects to the reclining Buddha at this temple for good fortune and good luck. I always have good things waiting for me every time I come to pay respects to the Buddha here.
PHITA K — Google review
Wat Pa Pradu was a lovely, respectful religious area of building complexes In the central part of Rayong proper. The temple was named after the Pradu trees that grow there. The main attraction that most tourist go to see is the reclining Buddha who reclines un-typically on his left arm instead of his right. (There are many other things to be done and learnt for those wishing to learn more including an informative tour.) The Buddha is covered in gold leaf which many locals rub with something and then make a donation. It seems a bit like making a donation and lighting a candle. The area is awash with religious respect. Shoes are always removed. There is a main road entrance into the temple (which we missed) but you can also approach it from the rear, like us, because we missed the main road which bisects the complex. Well worth the experience.

Ko Kloi Floating Market

Floating market
Shopping
The Ko Kloi Floating Market is a tranquil lakeside shopping complex in Rayong that offers dining options and souvenir shops. Visitors can enjoy feeding fish and birds without any entrance fee. However, due to Covid-19 restrictions, some of the businesses have closed down leading to fewer visitors. The market provides a good selection of food and souvenirs, but many shops have shut down because of the pandemic.
Cute old series of buildings on water. One great snack shack. Lots of koi to feed. A great place to relax, take a picnic.
Faith — Google review
It was almost sad to visit Ko Kloi Floating Market, only two shops open, almost no people in. Even though the market would be in its busiest, compared to Pattaya Floating Market, Ko Kloi is not very interesting. As such, these floating markets are rather historic pastiche.
Hannu T — Google review
Most of the shops were closed when I visited on a weekend
Akshay H — Google review
You will get the feeling of an old style market similar to the floating market in Ayutthaya. Lots of people are visiting during the weekends where many food stalls of many varieties including street foods, fruits, whole meal and even mookata (eat all u can) for all ages.. It's easy to find parking space since it's located inside PTT Gas station with adjacent free space across right wing and the Central Mall across the left side. Fresh air along nearby wooden walkways built over a manmade lake with some pedal boats to rent for strolling the water..
WiN E — Google review
No shops open any more.
Graham P — Google review
Ko Kloi Market offers a tranquil escape with its serene atmosphere, making it an ideal spot for relaxation, particularly in the afternoon. The market's choices are limited due to a sparse number of vendors and vacant stalls, resulting in lack of bustling activity. The fish swimming towards the visitors is an engaging experience. While not heavily visited, the market holds an appeal for those interested in its historical significance.
Romeo M — Google review
Certainly a place to visit if you're in Rayong ... not too much hustle and bustle, probably due to covid, but a pleasant outing. One can feed the fish and the birds, no entrance fee, and though limited, a good selection of food and souvenirs.
Heidi B — Google review
Not so crowded during weekday, but evening and weekend are full of people around. Many activities and things locally you may impress. ^ ^ Look forward to going back there again

Flea & Street Markets
The Star Night Bazaar Market in Rayong is a must-visit for food enthusiasts. This bustling market offers a wide array of delectable street food, from traditional favorites like Pad Kra Pao and Som Tam to unique treats like thin, crunchy crepes drizzled with condensed milk. The market is quite large and busy, with both open-air food stalls and covered sections with shops and restaurants.
Super cozy place with loot's of food and clothing. A must visit if you are in Rayong. Open around 4 pm and close 9-10 pm.
Anders J — Google review
Nice place to go and enjoy the local food. Somewhat overrated as there are similar markets all over Thailand.

I recommend a visit to this market. For a small city this market has a lot to offer.
Wendi G — Google review
This night market is totally different from the one i went in Bangkok! The food has much more variety and interesting stalls to try. The price are 20-50% cheaper than Bangkok too. Must go in Rayong!!
Byean — Google review
Amazing variety of food at such great prices. It’s somewhere where anyone can enjoy whether it’s fried chicken or fried crickets. Definitely worth a visit.
Oliver K — Google review
The market is located in central of province, if you come by car will difficult to find parking area. However, the food and items are variety with reasonable price. The only cons is when rain it will look a little bit not appreciated.
P. M — Google review
A good break (for me) from the confines of the hotel. An explosion of sounds and colours and smells greets you as you enter the night market, just after the guy at the entrance has your temp checked. There are dedicated rows of well laid-out stalls offering clothings, accessories, trinkets, footwear and, of course, food, drinks and fruits! Not so much of a unique experience, but being here will certainly immerse you into the Thai-ness of the environment.

Mangrove Forest Learning Center, Phra Chedi Klang Nam

Mentioned on

Nature preserve
Mangrove Forest Learning Center, Phra Chedi Klang Nam in Rayong offers a unique experience for visitors. The sky view tower provides a panoramic view of the Rayong river and the surrounding mangrove forest. The natural atmosphere and opportunity to explore mangrove ecology make it an exceptional destination. Visitors can also enjoy a lovely nature trail with abundant mangroves, although pollution in the waters is a concern.
Mangrove conservation area with an extensive series of boardwalks and a tall viewing platform providing views over Rayong and the river.
Tony G — Google review
Walking trail is fairly maintained. The view is good. The premises are kept clean. They have few places to park the car. There are no entrance fees.
Akshay H — Google review
I appreciate the fact that there are descriptions on which kind of animals roam around the habitat. Very underrated.. It was cool that we were alone but at the same time, I wish people would get to discover and enjoy such nature.
Anj A — Google review
The mangrove boat tour was amazing. You could see the centuries-old mangrove trees in the area. It's amazing how the country is able to profit a lot from its mangrove forests while ensuring their protection. The staff was also very hospitable. I just wish they know more English to interact more with foreign tourists.
Jofer A — Google review
Beyond expectation! Very convenient... It's in Rayong city center! Many big trees and the pathway is very good, easy to walk even for the elders, well maintained. Lots of crabs to see (no fish though.) The watch tower is very good. You get a good view along the Rayong river and the ocean.
Ronrapee L — Google review
Lovely spot to experience the mangroves. Mangrove trees in all stages of development. Make sure to climb the viewing tower, it gives a great impression of the forest from above
Frans P — Google review
Wonderful start point to the 30-minute circular boardwalk stroll through the mangroves!

Laem Charoen Beach

Mentioned on
3 lists
Laem Charoen Beach, located near Rayong city, is a popular sandy beach with artificial swimming bays and a nearby fishing harbor. The 2.5-mile stretch of wide sands is lined with seafood eateries and beach bars, making it a great spot to chill and enjoy local food. While the water quality is better than in Pattaya, there are no sewage processing facilities along the coast, so swimming comes with its own risks.
It is definitely a "come as you are" kind of place. It's not the postcard-perfect beach you might envision, but it offers a genuine, local experience. Think of it as a place where Thai families gather for picnics and seafood feasts, rather than a secluded, pristine getaway. The beach itself has okay sand and water that's suitable for a dip, though don't expect crystal-clear depths. The real draw here is the atmosphere and the food. You'll find a string of seafood restaurants serving up fresh, reasonably priced dishes, making it a great spot for a casual meal by the sea. While it might not be the cleanest beach around, especially after a busy day, it holds a certain charm. And if you catch it at the right time, the sunsets can be quite lovely.
Gemini W — Google review
[Laem Charoen Beach] Follow Saeng Chan Beach to the end,
and you’ll arrive at the green grove of Laem Charoen Beach🌴. Under the shade of tall trees, cute little coffee trucks line up☕️🚚 .
Sitting on a camping chair beneath a beach parasol—
some days with a strong drip coffee,
other days with a sweet latte and toast. Soft sand,
a breeze that gently sways,
and an endless horizon🌅. Just sitting still,
I could feel the peace and quiet nature offers.
Ram Ja Rong Beach—one of the reasons I’ve come to love Rayong✨.
Jaei M — Google review
Never knew about this beach (have been living in Thailand for quite a while). We stopped off to have a look and get a coffee while on the way back from Chanthaburi, but liked it so much that we ended up staying a night. A good option for a couple of nights away if you live in Bkk.
Alastair F — Google review
It's one of the most beautiful areas near Bangkok. Not too many tourists, affordable hotels, and a very well-maintained beach.
Norbert H — Google review
It’s a beach on no tickets. It’s one hour from Pattya city and it’s water looks bit clear. There was not much crowed and it’s peaceful, relax environment while one can enjoy swim down but day was not for surfing but it could be best place to add some volleyball net sports activity.
Jit C — Google review
It a beautiful and quite place with not much foreigners.A dream place to enjoy and relax. You could also sit at the beach if you buy coffee or drink with no additional charges.
Zay Z — Google review
I love this beach. It is always clean and wide so everyone can fine place for themselves. Nice photos, catching up the sunset. I would not recommend swimming , currents here are dangerous and strong. Arround you can also find some nice places with snacks
Adam K — Google review
I loved this place. Street food carts and funky food vans. Plenty of seating and tables to enjoy your food on the beach and lots of trees for shade. On the other side you can see the colourful fishing boats on the river.

Central Rayong

Shopping mall
Shopping
Central Rayong is home to the vibrant Central Plaza Rayong, a popular destination for avid shoppers and casual browsers alike. The mall boasts a diverse array of stores featuring well-known brands, making it a haven for fashion, lifestyle, and technology enthusiasts. Visitors can explore modern corridors lined with boutiques showcasing the latest trends in clothing and accessories. With ample parking options and an intuitive layout spanning three spacious floors, this chic shopping center offers a range of dining choices and is frequented by locals.
One of the biggest mall in Rayong - which is not that big (if you compare with malls in Bangkok). There are some common brand names of clothes, some local products, a lot of food, and other shops. You can spend 1-2 hours in this mall. The parking lot is big and convenient. Not much to review as it is the same as any small to medium size mall.
Kae — Google review
The shopping center itself is big. However, they sell pets like shown in pictures. Please do not support this type of puppy mills, the dogs do not go for walks, they have very limited space. The puppies cannot play with each other, they just stay in their piss-filled crates. The dogs are not energetic (as they should be - they are puppies!). Please do not visit the mall nor buy any puppies/support Pet Safari in any way.
Elisa R — Google review
A great mall to visit if you’re in the area. It’s clean, modern, and easy to walk around. There are lots of shops, restaurants, and a cinema—perfect for shopping, dining, or catching a movie 🎥🛍️🍽️. It’s also a nice place to escape the heat and enjoy a relaxing afternoon. Great vibes and well-organized layout!
Tongz N — Google review
This is a very nice shopping mall for a small city. I am impressed and I recommend this pace. Good AC
Wendi G — Google review
As a shopping Centre, Central Plaza has a lot to offer. My wife and I purposefully spent 5 hours there to fully comprehend the place. One of the things we really liked is that in the whole 5 hours we only saw two other people who could have been construed of as European decent. This means this shopping centre was made for the Thai people and not tourist and the Thai people definitely use it. The centre had a ground floor and two floors above. It was spacious and intuitively arranged. It included all the stores you might expect and many many more. There were many eating places especially on the top floor where there is a cinema playing first release films. Next to the cinema there is a huge childrens’ games area, mini golf and go cart track to name a couple of things. On the ground floor there is a food court which includes what is referred to as a Food Park. The Food Park has their own card currency which you need to purchase before you can buy food. They don’t accept cash. The floors and walkways are spacious, clean and very modern. There are lots of lights, giant LED screens and an abundance of very polite and ever helpful staff. Well worth a day of investigation.
James M — Google review
Large with a lot of options for shopping for kids and adults. Very nice playarea for kids. Good restaurants.
Glenn J — Google review
This shopping mall is very easy to navigate and well-designed. The layout is spacious and comfortable to walk through, making it a pleasant shopping experience. There’s an excellent variety of restaurants and food options to choose from. The mall also has a great selection of shops selling various items and products - the variety is comparable to what you’d find in Bangkok, which is impressive for a mall outside the capital. Overall, it’s a convenient and well-stocked shopping destination with everything you need in one place. Highly recommended for both shopping and dining!
Dao P — Google review
Clean and well run Central plaza mall. Good toilets and parking with good food options and shopping avaliable. Relatively new and right on the main road it is a convenient place to stay during the heat of the day.

Rayong Aquarium

Temporarily Closed
Aquarium
Nature & Parks
Rayong Aquarium is a well-organized and educational exhibition center that offers an array of fish and sea animals, as well as informative exhibits on the fishing industry. The facility is suitable for families looking for a fantastic experience with their children, allowing them to step away from phone games and gain knowledge about marine life. The entry fee of 30 THB is relatively cheap compared to the value it provides. The aquarium has English names in all exhibitions and continues to improve its facilities.
I was completely surprised by how much I enjoyed this aquarium. Not only is the price fair and reasonable for everyone (30 baht), it’s informative in English & Thai and was a real pleasure to walk through. If you are in the area would definitely recommend. The only negative was the toilets were out of order.
S J — Google review
This is a cool place to visit in Rayong. Lots of fish and underwater creatures on display. For 30 baht only, it’s fantastic. However I think they could increase the price and just maintain the place a bit better. But still for 30 baht you see quite a lot!
Shayan N — Google review
Beautiful small aquarium with lots of cool fish, jellyfish and sharks. Perfect for kids and adults! Great for a quick afternoon stop.
Katie R — Google review
Second visit, good value cat just 30 baht entry fee for adults. Highlight is the perspex tunnel taking you through and below the huge saltwater tank displaying a variety of large sea fish. Further along sea turtles can be viewed from both underwater or from above outdoors. Interesting static displays about sea fishing and conservation, plus many smaller tanks containing sealife. We arrived on a Saturday morning for 10am opening there were already many people waiting but entry was fast and peopldxsoon love along through the exhibits. Recommended.
GC J — Google review
It's a compact aquarium with numerous types of fish. It can take a good 10-15 minutes to briefly go through the aquarium. The popular area to take pictures is the tunnel. You are lucky if you have a picture without the group in the background or forground
Marvin H — Google review
We were enjoyed. Easy access. You can see many sea creatures. Undersea tunnel and other displays are good to see. Adults baht 30 kids baht 10 over60 for free
Kayo K — Google review
Nice place to visit with kids, the premises are well maintained and have a variety of aquatic animals. Entry fees are 30 THB for adults, 10 THB for kids up to 15 years old. Free entry for people below 120 cms and Thai nationals above 60 years. Parking is available in the vicinity.
Akshay H — Google review
Small local aquarium with dedicated sea turtle pool at the entrance. This is a unique aquarium in its own right due to most exhibits being commercial fishery stocks except the turtle pool. Giant garoupa tank is cool to stroll down the tunnel. Super cheap fee at ฿30/ adult, a mere ฿10/child.

The No.43 Italian Bistro Rayong

Restaurant
Italian restaurant
The No.43 Italian Bistro Rayong, nestled within the Kantary Bay Hotel, offers a delightful dining experience that combines great food with exceptional service. While the pizza may be considered average by some, it features aromatic cheese that adds to its appeal. The classic Cobb salad is a must-try for those looking for something fresh and flavorful. Guests will appreciate the friendly and attentive staff who are always ready to assist, ensuring you feel well taken care of during your visit.
As a pizza chef, I would have to say the pizza was quite average, however the service was truly exceptional. Very attentive staff always noticed customers looking for attention, and after my meal, the chatty team asked where I was heading and helped me plan how to reach my next destination. Moreover, (and I probably shouldn't say this because they aren't likely to do this again) they even gave me a lift back to the very front door of my hotel, even though they run their own hotel which I am not staying at! Not only that, but they allowed me 20 minutes to order a dessert before taking me back, even though the driver was already ready to depart. Truly exceptionally staff with big, friendly hearts.

soup was a tad diluted, chicken wings were a little dehydrated, pasta-tasted like fried noodles, pizza crust was chewy, more like sourdough, most ridiculous was that they charged 49baht for grated parmesan cheese.
Randall T — Google review
Very good, but not wow. Expected a bit more for these prices. Salmon was dry and salmon salad was swimming in sauce.

A good western style of foods, reasonably priced and free corkage charge when you buy bottles of wine from Odila market.

This restaurant located in the city of Rayong, offers an Italian and Western fusion menu. The environment is welcoming, clean and comfortable. The menu offers a wide choice of dishes ranging from meat to fish, from pasta to pizza. Even though the chef is not Italian, I must admit that the composition and presentation of the dishes is of a high standard, I was pleasantly impressed. Honest prices compared to the types of dishes cooked. The meat is excellent as is the fish. The service is precise and quick

Great food and some of the best service we've had in Thailand. The appetizers came out before the entrees and together...which is always a plus and rare in Thailand LOL. Food was really good. They could improve the atmosphere a bit. Seemed a little like a cafe instead of a steak house.

Elementi Rooftop Restaurant & Bar

Mentioned on
1 list
Western restaurant

Restaurant
Elementi Rooftop Grill & Bar offers a relaxed atmosphere, especially during sunset. You can enjoy drinks at the counter bar if you're alone. While the ocean view is stunning, it's not the best spot for watching the sunset. The menu features a variety of drinks including wine, whiskey, and cocktails; their Margarita comes highly recommended for its refreshing sour taste.
We had the seafood fettuccine pasta, beef short rip and burrata salad. Food was amazing!!! Hard to find these types of food in Rayong. Service is spot on especially, Best, who waited our table. Highly recommend the restaurant!

I recently visited a rooftop restaurant and bar just outside of Bangkok, and the experience was truly unforgettable. The sweeping 180-degree sea view was nothing short of breathtaking, offering a serene and stunning backdrop that perfectly complemented the relaxed atmosphere. The interior design resonated beautifully with my tastes—sleek, modern, and visually striking. Compared to other rooftop venues I’ve visited, this one stood out as a clear favorite, especially for its ambiance and the unique black lighting that added a sophisticated, moody edge to the space. The menu leaned more toward Western cuisine than traditional local fare, but that didn’t bother me—the flavors were well-executed and enjoyable. The only drawback was the lack of a welcoming presence at the entrance. No staff were stationed to greet arriving guests, which made the initial impression feel a bit impersonal. Still, aside from that minor detail, the overall experience was wonderful.

I ordered penna carbonara salmon and sear salmon fillet. They are amazing. Penne and salmon are excellent,Not overcooked like many restaurant in Thailand. But they are perfect cooking. Flavorful sauce as well. I got welcome drinks from the hotel as member. The wine is good quality. The service not everyone perfect but there are a few who have a service mind that help me manage some problems of my coupons and my mobile phone. They have both indoor and ourdoor seat but the outdoor which are rooftop bar and smoking area. The bartender is welcomed and helpful. So I love to recommend this restaurant and I will come back here again.

Fantastic view (best in town). The food is good. But...drinks are overpriced (even considering the view) and staff is extremely slow and inattentive. I walked out waiting for my drinks (on a slow day). I will return to the hotel during my next visit but I will avoid the roof top

We ate here a few times during our recent stay. One rainy night we were moved indoors seamlessly , the staff adapted brilliantly. Food was outstanding every time: we tried the BBQ and other dishes, with the best prawns I’ve ever eaten. A fantastic singer added to the atmosphere on a few nights. The team were super friendly, going out of their way to make everything perfect. Huge thanks to them all!”

Tapestry Restaurant offers a buffet-style dining experience with a variety of delicious Szechuan soup and dim sum options. While the lack of spicy dishes may make the food seem a bit greasy, the standard dim sum and delicious fried foods make up for it. The restaurant provides good service, reasonable prices, and parking availability. Guests can enjoy tasty duck dishes along with other menu items.

Thai-style dishes, but no exotic foods. Good choice, good food, good surroundings, and the best service. Apart from that, there is a café offering dessert, coffee, and homemade ice cream.
Chanatinat S — Google review
Much much bigger than when I visit there more than 20 years ago. Now there are cafe and resort as well, not just a restaurant. The atmosphere is magnificent, full of trees and shade. It helps to reduce temperature. But talking about food, many of them are quite salty even a plain omlet. Each dish comes out slow and takes time apart so we have to pack a few last dishes. The aircon room smell quite bad. I went there on the long weekend. The cafe is packed and hardly find seats. The drink takes 15-30mins.

Beautiful atmosphere, location has a forestry look, did not hear the outside noise, came at lunch time, parking lot was spacious, not many cars, security was curtious and helpful directing us to the restaurant, Forest was well kept and maintained, nice breeze and waterfall with walking landscape. Laem Charoen Seafood Rayong

$$$$affordable
Seafood restaurant
Laem Charoen Seafood Rayong is a delightful dining spot located by the riverside, offering a wonderful seafood dinner experience. The restaurant features open seating with the option to dine under the lights and enjoy live music without it being too loud. Families can appreciate the small playground while waiting for their meal, and there's even a beach across the road for kids to play in the sand. The traditional seafood menu boasts fresh catches at affordable prices, served in generous portions.
I love original seafoods here. The music and environment are very nice where you can feel the wind, the sound of peace and the taste of foods. I love all the things here and the attitude of waiter and waitress. Actually they are not good at English but I dont care at all, just want to have enough time and belly to take all the foods. The coconut ice cream is nice too.

It's a bit more expensive than several other places I've been to, but the quality is very good. I had one of my favourite dishes, steamed seabass with lime & chilli. They have their own holding tanks for some of their seafood. It's a large restaurant with plenty of seating and views behind onto the waterway where there are many fishing boats.

A nice Thai restaurant by the sea in Rayong. The seafood is fresh and tasty, and the outdoor setting under the stars is relaxing. The staff is friendly and helpful. A great place to enjoy a chill meal by the water. PS. That seafood sauce is awesome.

I like dining by the riverside under the lights. There is also a small playground to entertain the children and the beach over the road to play in the sand. Traditional seafood menu, very affordable prices, everything is fresh caught and cooked. Wide open space, tables and chairs were not crammed into squashed areas. Good lighting, choice of dining with or without a roof.

We came to stay here, kind of impromptu as we only popped in for lunch, we liked the look of the place and decided to stay a couple of nights, the location is excellent, right across the road from one of the best beaches I think I’ve seen in Thailand, the rooms were spacious and very clean, we had two bungalows facing the sea so we got a nice breeze, we ate in the Bali restaurant three times, the food was excellent, real, and I mean real homemade Italian Pizza, breakfast was included, it was a simple, with a choice of American Breakfast or Rice Soup with pork, the staff were great, a huge thank you to P’Orm for making us feel so welcome right from the minute go, all of the restaurant staff were smiley and attentive, we will definitely return in the not so distant future, great job Guys. Resort is really nice like a botanical garden but needs renovation of pool, tiles are cracked , missing some, can easily cut your foot toes or hands. Water not clean. bungalow nice and clean, only TV is the size of my laptop. Breakfast is crap. Plastic sausages and fake white bread. better go to 7 -11 next door.
Darius B — Google review
The bungalows are spacious and authentic, the location is excellent, and the staff were incredibly nice and helpful. During one evening at the restaurant, I savored the delicious pizzas with a thin, crunchy crust. I highly recommend trying the pizza with truffles or the pepperoni; both options were absolutely delightful. Overall, it's a fantastic place, and I plan to return for the outstanding service and delicious pizzas!
Paul D — Google review
Only went here for dinner. The pizzas are great, in particular the Margherita was really tasty! The night we went they had a karaoke style singer singing along with classics, it made the atmosphere quite wonderful. Oh, and the spinach pizza was also great.
Zachary M — Google review
We did not stay at the hotel. We had dinner at the pizzeria and restaurant. Food was ok and the atmosphere very friendly. There was live music and the staff were friendly. They seem to have many foreigner customers but I’m sure it will be an equal mix with locals during the weekend and long holidays. Theres plenty of parking. No corkage fee if you bring your own wine. No airconditioning, the restaurant is open air.
Cille G — Google review
The resort is really old and some equipments are broken. Otherwise, it's great. Wifi is strong throughout the resort. Pizza is good. No extra towels and pillows. Lots and lots of mosquitoes. The power outlets are old-style with no ground wire. But it's OK in comparison to the price. You get what you pay for.

Great Bali-style bungalows with nice balcony's too hang out on. Friendly and helpful staff. Also, the restaurant attached has great pizzas and cocktails too. Convenient location opposite the beach and close to other bars and restaurants.

Quiet but good pizza although slightly under seasoned. Friendly staff. Drinks were a little weak for the price - specifically the long island iced tea for 250 baht. No doubt as tourists return the atmosphere will improve. Good luck to them.

Olearys.s.b.d is a well-run establishment that offers a variety of Western and Thai food, including fresh and well-presented dishes such as hamburgers, cod fish, vegetarian pizza, sweet and sour vegetables with seafood, pyttipanna, Skagen Toast, and Pad Thai. The restaurant also has a deli shop with a wide selection of food and wines. Customers appreciate the quality and quantity of the food at reasonable prices.
Such a great find, guys! The food was delicious and authentic. Just looking at these pictures again makes me hungry! There is a little grocery store attached to the restaurant as well stocked full of imported, delicious foods and drinks from Europe. ร้านเจ๊ยินดีซีฟู้ด is a top seafood spot in Rayong, offering a tranquil dining experience at the end of an extended pier. The restaurant provides incredibly fresh seafood, allowing customers to choose directly from live display tanks or order from the menu. A must-try dish is the Squid Sashimi, known for its freshness and delightful flavors.
A seafood style restaurant located in front of the maerumpung beach. View is superb with clean white sand and blue sea and sky. The food came after few mins of the order. Most dishes are good but fried fish is a little bit too sweet. Service is fast.

Discover one of the best seafood spots in Rayong located at the end of the extended pier, ensuring a more quiet dining experience with fewer people bustling around. The seafood is incredibly fresh—you can either order from the menu or pick directly from the tank where they're still swimming. A must-try is their signature dish, the Squid Sashimi, boasting freshness, creaminess, and delightful flavors. Service is excellent, with attentive and friendly staff, including English speakers for added convenience 🤓. Families will appreciate the freedom for kids to play by the beach, where the calm and clear water during this season adds to the charm. Embrace the occasional vendors strolling by offering snacks, drinks, toys, and beach essentials. It might feel a bit intrusive, but it adds to the vibrant beach atmosphere. 🤓 It's entirely up to you! Transportation in Rayong

Getting around Rayong can be a little daunting if you’re new here. We can help list some of the major public transportation methods if you don’t want to rely on a car.

Nearby airports

U-Tapao Rayong–Pattaya International Airport

International airport
Airport
U-Tapao–Rayong–Pattaya International Airport is a small and clean airport located away from the city, with strict security checks. The currency exchange office doesn't charge commission, and although rates are not the best, they are acceptable. Clean toilets and a nearby 7-11 store for SIM cards make it convenient for travelers. However, transportation to and from the airport may require planning as public transport options are limited.
The airport is spacious with not so many people as you'd expect in the international airport. Exchange is next to Exit 3, the currency is lower than in the city. To the left from the entrance there's an office of Refund. Also, there's some cafeteria which sells sausages, pastry and drinks at a very reasonable price which is surprising! The WC is clean and smells good)
Alex — Google review
Airport has a lot of potential granted how close it is to Pattaya and Rayong but just a couple of flights per day if that and no real amenities. Granted such low traffic I am surprised to see so many staff, never think I've seen everyone's bag be thoroughly searched after x ray but I guess it's better than them standing around. Hopefully more flights fly out of here, meaning business or food vendors may open.
A8 8 — Google review
The staff is very untrained and they have no idea about s7 rules in other airports (example: BKK). They urgerd everybody use the calibrator even if their fares included free luggage. Even tho, they confused everyone with line queues 2 times, people started to get angry. It's 2 am in a vacation city, people go home to work tomorrow after week being on a beach. Can you please be more soft with rules like other airports?
SoGood T — Google review
A very nice and clean..small airport located away from the city. You have to take a cab from and to the main city from this airport. There is a 7-11 store right across the main departure building. Also there are few small shops outside the departure building to eat before you fly. Easy check-in process. Strict checking. Even drinking water not allowed
Jitin B — Google review
Quiet airport. Flight to Phuket. Best to check your bag or they will have you measure it before boarding. Also best to have a paper ticket...otherwise they want to see the pdf of e-ticket.
Nick R — Google review
The worst airport ever! Their luggage scale is rigged, it shows overweight so that they can charge you. Had connecting flight after and my luggage weight was ok. Also they take away power banks, they noted some nonsense power banks limitations ! No food places at the terminal. Terrible!
Sal Y — Google review
Quite possibly the most commercially dead airport I have been to in some time. Which is strange considering this is such a popular destination for tourists from all over the world and there are direct flights coming in here from as far away as Russia and Korea. 99% of shops seem to be closed permanently. And there was only one small sandwich place and one duty-free store open when I was there. On the other hand, the check-in process as well as the immigration and security checks were very efficient. Maybe because they only have one or two planes departing /arriving at any one time.
Lisa C — Google review
No water machine beyond security, no food options other than crisps and coffee. Otherwise spacious and not busy when I visited. Friendly and fast immigration and security
