St. Michael's Fortress

Mentioned on
15 lists
Fortress
Sights & Landmarks
St. Michael's Fortress, located in the city center, is a restored medieval fort that offers guided tours and hosts various exhibits. It features an open-air summer stage with just over 1000 seats, making it an exclusive venue for cultural events and performances. The fortress, which served as a defense system in the past, provides stunning views of Sibenik and the Adriatic Sea from its upper courtyard.
If you ever come to Šibenik, you must visit the St. Michael's Fortress, absolutely awesome fortress above the old city with amazing views and of course great photo opportunities. The fortress has an open air theater and I wish to come back to enjoy one of the concerts during the summer season. Highly recommend to visit.
Tomislav P — Google review
There is not much to it as it's been modernised to make it more into a venue, I am sure it makes for a stunning venue for a close and personal performance and I would 100% go to an event here. But as a tourist location it really only offers a couple of nice views.
Wayne H — Google review
St. Michael’s Fortress offers breathtaking views over Šibenik, the sea, and nearby islands. The climb is well worth it, and the historic center below is full of charm with stone streets, lively squares, and beautiful architecture. Together they make a perfect mix of history, culture, and scenery.
G W — Google review
To be honest, the fact that this fortress has 9,000 reviews while the other two (Barone and Ivana) have just a fraction of that, I can only explain by remembering the lady selling the tickets. She was incredibly helpful, spoke perfect English, recommended other places to visit, and even helped us figure out how to get back to Vodice. As for the fortress itself, as a Czech, I didn’t find it particularly impressive. It’s nice, but I went through it in about 15 minutes, and realistically, I think it’s more of a top spot for a festival than a serious sightseeing destination. That said, for people who don’t plan to hike to the other two more interesting fortresses, this one is certainly satisfying enough.
Bruce W — Google review
We bought the three-site ticket, which lets you explore Barone Fortress, St. John’s, and St. Michael’s. Each one is absolutely worth a visit if you want to dive into the fascinating history of Šibenik. My tip: start with Barone and St. John’s to get a feel for the city’s defenses, and then head up to St. Michael’s. From there, the views are stunning, and with so many restaurants nearby, it’s the perfect spot to slow down, enjoy a meal, and let the day fade out in true Dalmatian style.
Frank — Google review
I was at Roisin Murphy's concert here. The view from above is stunning. During the summer, you can attend concerts in the evening or visit the fortress during the day.
Kornelija V — Google review
Wonderful view. Cozy concert venue. Nice souvenirs. Excellent toilets. Will be happy to come back again.
Roman P — Google review
You can't even go to teh viewpoint because the gates to pay are not even near the fortress. So you need to pay for the view which is not even at the fortress area.

St. Nicholas’ Fortress

Mentioned on
15 lists
Historical landmark
St. Nicholas Fortress is a 16th-century fortress located on the small island of Ljuljevac, at the entrance to St. Anthony's Channel near Sibenik. It is part of the UNESCO World Heritage Site and was built as a defense system against Turkish attacks from the sea. The fortress offers an intriguing glimpse into its historical significance and architectural design by Venetian builder Hyeronimus di San Michaela.
Nice hike around the area, we went to the underwater tunnel, then back the other way. We couldn't get into the fort, it was closed.
M. H — Google review
Beautiful fortress built by Venetians located at the entrance to the Šibenik bay/outlet of Krka River to the Adriatic Sea. Entering the fortress is only allowed via guided boat tours during renovation works. However you can walk right towards the fortress from the south eastern side e.g. starting at St. Nicholas beach.
Jan R — Google review
Lovely area with walks to one side of the bay to the tourist centre, while the other direction takes you to a cool wooden walkway across the water to the island and the fortress
Terike — Google review
Beautiful walk and scenery from land. Not sure why it is not built a trail all the way. Would be nice to get there without boat.
June N — Google review
The wonderful boat trip to the Fort is packed with interesting information from our very lovely guide Daniel 🤩
Rosalind E — Google review
An interesting place and worth a visit for the fort and for the nice walks in the area. The disappointment with the fort is that entry is barred. There used to be a stone causeway leading from the small island, but this has washed away. However, the water is only about 300mm deep, so it's a quick and easy walk across if you don't mind wet feet. There is still scaffolding in place where you would once have been able to get into the fort through a hole in the wall, originally intended as a gun port. Sadly, this hole has been blocked up.
Duncan W — Google review
Really lovely, especially during the sunrise.
Scott E — Google review
We drove from Split to experience more of Croatia, we are glad we found this stunning walk to an Island and a Venetian fortress, though it is probably not worth a long drive to see. You do not have to walk far to see the fortress and there is some interesting bunkers on the route, free parking and access to the beach at the car park. If you are near Šibenik, this is worth a visit.

Barone Fortress

Mentioned on

Fortress
Sights & Landmarks
Barone Fortress, a 17th-century stronghold perched on a hill above Sibenik, was constructed in just two months to protect the city from an impending Ottoman invasion. Following extensive restoration in 2016, the fortress now boasts a visitor's center and interactive exhibits using augmented reality technology to immerse visitors in its historical significance. Offering panoramic views of the old town and shoreline, this less-visited gem also features tourist facilities such as a museum, cafe, and toilets.
11.50 to enter. Spend 1.50 more for pass to all three fortresses. There is a cafe serving up drinks only, which is needed after the climb up. A combination of stairs and a road. But doable for anyone. Nice views of the city.
Dan B — Google review
There is nothing to see inside. You have only the views. The ticket is 11.50eur, considering the price, It's not worth the visit as there is nothing to do more than a view. They charge on every single tourist spot in Croacia, even parks and it's very pricy. I understand that conservation is important but they go to far with tourist
Roberto — Google review
Listen up, folks – it’s a hell of a hike, but it’s totally worth it. The view is the second best (Ivanovova > Barone > Michaels), and there’s also a spot to grab a dessert, a coffee, or just cool off a bit. Kids will have fun too. That said, I still managed to walk through the entire fortress in about 10 minutes. I highly recommend bringing a bottle of water and an extra pair of legs.
Bruce W — Google review
Amazing view over the city and other fortresses. Nice caffe bar and friendly staff. Coffee tasted great, and hot chocolate as well. Clean restrooms. We came here on a Sunday and had no wait for buying tickets.
Savenna Ž — Google review
Nice view of Sibenic. Very small. There is not much to see, except for the view. There is no museum or exhibition. You can do it in 10 min. There is a nice coffee bar and toilets.
Moshe S — Google review
READ CAREFULLY: I really don't understand the negative reviews. The fortress is not just about the view — which, by the way, is beautiful — but also offers a much deeper experience. If people took a moment to read, they'd realize that the ticket includes a free AR (augmented reality) experience using tablets provided on-site. These explain the history in a fun and interactive way, with lots of interesting facts. It’s a very pleasant place to visit, and there’s free parking available, which is a big plus. Tip: Get the family ticket or, for just €1.50 more, the combined ticket for all three fortresses — the other sites also offer great experiences. People should really inform themselves better before leaving bad reviews.
Capeto — Google review
Nice view from both fortresses - Saint John's and Barone. 5 minutes walking distance Parking possible ar Barone fortress. Family ticket available. Considered as "must visit" when in Šibenik.
Piy M — Google review
Great place to visit if you are near Šibenik. Very nice and friendly staff, comfortable cafe just inside the place with local brewery. Don't forget to take an interactive augmented reality tour and listen to the history of the place, it's quite creative. The view from the place is amazing. You can see both the seaside and the city. Parking for the visitors is free and right near the fortress walls, but be careful driving uphill - the road is a bit stiff and narrow, some cars might be moving in the opposite direction at the same time

St. John's Fort

Fortress
Sights & Landmarks
St. John's Fortress, also known as Tanaja, is a significant historical site in Sibenik, Croatia. Built in 1646 by locals in just 58 days to protect the city from Turkish attacks, it stands on a hill overlooking the area. The fortress was named after a medieval church dedicated to St. John that previously occupied the site for centuries. Adjacent to Barone Fortress and close to St.
Amazing view in front of the entrance. I think this fortress is the best among three fortresses (Barone, St. John's, St.Michael). I truly recommend to visit this place just before sunset. Entrance fee is 11.5 euros for adults, including entrance to Barone fortress. But you can visit three fortresses for 13 euros. There are also a large free parking lot.
Traveler Y — Google review
“They don’t know me, son! Who’s gonna carry the boats and the logs?” – that’s what was running through my head in the last few meters. This fortress has the fewest reviews of all, yet it’s the nicest, biggest, most interesting, and has the best view. I highly recommend it to anyone who loves hikes, views, and history.
Bruce W — Google review

Amazing views from the fortress and very cool to walk around. Worth a visit for sure.
Karissa G — Google review
Very good, although it's quite far, but the view is incredible and the entrance is free.
Ignacy M — Google review
Well worth getting the combined ticket for 3 forts. Absolutely worth €13 for the views alone
Phil C — Google review
St. John's fortress was made in the 17th century and in combination with the Barone fortress repelled the Ottoman attacks on Sibenik. Historically significant and with beautiful views it's a must visit place in Sibenik. Along with St. Mihovil fortress and the Cathedral.
Ivan G — Google review
Great views and everything, but there was completely no effort made in making this place accessible for people with low mobility. No signage, no wheelchair access, steep and busted up road/path, gravel everywhere.

Sights & Landmarks
Located in the heart of Sibenik, the Church of St. Barbara has a rich history dating back to the 15th century. Commissioned by Radoslav Mihetic, this Gothic church is a must-see attraction hidden behind the grand cathedral. While no longer used for religious purposes, it is now part of the City Museum and open for visitors to explore its unique facade and interior with two distinct altars. The nearby Fortress of St.
Nice view a lovely church ⛪️

Beautiful but closed church as many other remarks it has a rich history
Barbora K — Google review
Lovely church facade but the interior to church is closed (September 2024). According to lady with jewellery stall outside the main door, the church never opens. An older local gentleman told me it was closed too, and he’d only seen inside twice in his life!

(Translated by Google) A nice and very interesting church from the outside with four bells, which when rung, have something special about them. It is part of old Šibenik, which is a really nice town with a tangle of old narrow streets. (Original) Hezký a zvenčí velice zajímavý kostelík se čtyřmi zvony, které když se rozezvučí, má to něco do sebe. Je součástí starého Šibeniku, který je opravdu moc hezké město se spletí starých úzkých uliček.

Banj Beach is a renowned pebble beach in Sibenik, offering stunning panoramic views of the city's Cathedral and four well-preserved fortresses. It has been awarded the Blue Flag for its pristine landscapes and offers various sports activities such as volleyball, kayaking, canoeing, swimming, water polo, and picigin. The nearby restaurant Petrus provides a perfect spot to enjoy Dalmatian cuisine under the sun.
Small, charming beach with breathtaking view of Šibenik ♥️Fine gravel is as soft as sand, but nothing sticks to the body or clothes which is great. Toilets are large, modern and very clean. Petrus Beach Bar is serving large variety of food and drinks. Water, since it is a narrow bay, is amazingly warm 😍 The beach is facing south. Just over the beach there is a parking dedicated for beach clients. City centre is very well reachable from this beach, too.
Jacek O — Google review
Type: "Prilaz tvornici 35 parking" to get to a big parking area right above the beach. It's one of most affordable ones, 5 euros for a daily ticket. Banj is only few minutes away, walking distance. The sea here is specific because its mixed with water from a river, but still good for a city refreshment and daily fun. There is a big public toilet, pretty clean and no charge, basketball and volleyball courts, outdoor gym, children water fun park and a cafe with some food options and reasonable prices (chicken tortilla and fries 10 euros, burger and fries 14 euros, beer 3 euros, coffee 2.20 euros). Important: there is almost no shade at the beach. Secure something yourself. Dogs are only allowed on the leash and not inside the sea.
Iva V — Google review
Worlds above Jadrija beach in my opinion, and easy to overlook thinking you should be heading to other islands for a beach day. There's a restaurant, so you've got clean bathrooms, changing rooms, food, coffee and water. And the American (?) member of staff is lovely and very helpful. We went in early September, and there weren't too many people there so it was perfect. No sea urchins, but water is pretty rocky. You can rent beach beds for €8-10 euros a day, which is a bit steep but they offered room to barter, especially if you're purchasing multiple things. The aqua park was €10 for an hour which I found reasonable. Though admittedly there isn't too much to do on it. But the main issue is the barnacles underneath/ on the edges. We both got cut up and ended up with legs covered in blood!
Lucie P — Google review
Nice rock beach inlet, stunning views of old town, sun lounges and umbrella can be hired for a charge, jumping water slide 10 euro 1 hour 25euro all day, kids loved it, bar and restraunt on site. No shaded areas best to bring umbrella
Karen B — Google review
A little beach with a peaceful vibe and no crowds, about a 20-minute walk from the historic center. One thing to know before you go: the Krka River flows into the bay nearby, making the water much less salty than the sea. It caught me off guard — I had to work noticeably harder to stay afloat.
Roman P — Google review
May 1st holiday was a sunny one but very, very windy so not many visitors. Gave me a chance to check out the place and wander around. Theres a restaurant, already open, kiddies play area, and for fitness buffs an exercise set up with equipment to work out on. As usual on this coast beach pebbly so rubber slip on shoes suggested. Fabulous hot sunny day and plenty of people, many swimming, water playground area set up so its time to hit the beach folks. And the views of the city are post card perfect.
Serafin S — Google review
Ok beach with a views of the city and some mountains, water in the bay is less salty cause river KRK falls into the sea not far from the beach. The only beach for shinenik that you can do by easy walking if you stay in the old city.
Yaroslav K — Google review
Excellent beach, wonderful view on the city. There is icecream stand, free toilette and DJ on the beach on weekends. There is beachball and basketball court and gym on open. Parking is 100m away, cost 3€ per full day. City is super clean.

Restaurant
Pelegrini is a rustic eatery located in Sibenik, known for its high-concept local dishes and extensive wine list. The restaurant has been awarded the honor of Best Restaurant in Dalmatia in 2016 and 2017. Run by passionate chef-owner Rudi Stefan, Pelegrini offers a blend of tradition and innovation with its prime location amid historic stone edifices offset by contemporary decor.
We phoned to book a table for 2 for dinner and were lucky to get one as their online booking system said waiting list only. So glad we phoned. Amazing 6 course meal with extras, they also offer a 4 course. Wonderful inventive tasty food that is impeccably presented. Our waiter gave us the best service we have ever had and recommended good wine matches. Highly recommend to eat there if you are in the area
Jan C — Google review
We came here for dinner while staying in the area after our wedding and it was a treat for us. They may only have 1 Michelin star but they definitely should have more. The food was delicious and local, each with a story of origin. The wine was great too. The service was as what you would expect in a place like this with very friendly staff. The only comment I have is that during the summer, the court yard can get quite hot even in the evening so there isn’t much of a breeze that flows through. There are also mosquitos which will get you if you don’t spray. The heat mainly was an issue which didn’t allow for the full enjoyment of the meal but the food and service itself was amazing. Definitely recommended..
James D — Google review
Beautiful restaurant. Wonderful creative and delicious food. The Tasting menu provides a dinner to remember. Fantastic service. Makes a visit to Sibenik that much more special
David B — Google review
Incredible meal! Incredible service! Incredible atmosphere! A very special evening. Every bite was absolutely delicious and prepared with such skill and effort. Beautiful combination of tastes that worked so well together. Beautifully orchestrated and well thought out. The is a reason this place has a Michelin star. It probably deserves one or two more. Magnificent!
Robert — Google review
We ended our summer vacation at Pelegrini to celebrate, and they absolutely did not disappoint. It’s honestly still rare — especially in Croatia — to find a restaurant with genuinely impeccable hospitality, the kind I grew up experiencing in Asia (especially the Philippines). Out of all the places I’ve tried here, this one is firmly at the top. The food was phenomenal, the service was on point, and the storytelling behind each dish made the whole experience even better. We went for the wine pairing, and every single choice was spot-on. Truly worth the price and the travel. A standout meal and a standout team.

A Memorable Experience at Pelegrini Today I had the pleasure to try out the sea food at Pelegrini restaurant in Šibenik. This was a true pleasure and I enjoyed it a lot. The food was fantastic, offering a variety of new and exciting flavors. Each dish was beautifully presented and tasted incredible. The staff were incredibly friendly and professional which enhanced the overall experience. They are mostly serving sea food but have some meat as well.
Dario J — Google review
We went there with high expectations due to great reviews and they were still well exceeded. The tasting menu (11 course menu including kitchen greetings) was absolutely fabulous. We definitely recommend taking the tasting menu together with wine pairing as it brings the whole experience to another level. The atmosphere is amazing and staff is knowledgeable and very well synchronised working as Swiss clock.

Dalmatian Ethno Village

Restaurant
Dalmatian Ethno Village, located within Amadria Park Resort, offers a wide range of facilities including a wellness center, water park, shops, bars, and restaurants. The village features a reconstruction of an old Croatian village where visitors can enjoy traditional food at the buffet. Additionally, there is a small vineyard that produces Amadria Park wine.
This evening we dined with our family at Restaurant Ethno Village, and what an unforgettable experience it was! Upon arrival, we were warmly welcomed in an authentic, charming setting that feels like stepping into an old village. The ambiance is unique and instantly inviting. The staff deserves huge praise: they were incredibly friendly and attentive. We were offered an aperitif, and because it was busy and our food took a bit longer, they surprised us with a delicious starter. That kind of hospitality is rare! We ordered the “Gourmet Octopus,” “Grilled Sea Bream,” “Lamb Chops,” and “Duck Breast.” Every dish was a true flavor explosion, leaving us with tastes we won’t soon forget. The “Duck Breast” was perfectly prepared, with a flavorful, thick layer of fat that elevated the dish to another level. My son raved about the “Lamb Chops,” which were bursting with flavor thanks to a mix of herbs and delicious sauces. The “Grilled Sea Bream” came with an irresistible sauce that I mopped up with the fresh bread until the last drop. The “Gourmet Octopus” was equally surprising and refined. All our plates went back to the kitchen completely empty! What makes Ethno Village special is their boldness in experimenting with herbs and flavors. This isn’t your average restaurant; here, you taste passion for food and care for the guests. The combinations are original and surprising, exactly what you hope for in a culinary experience. We will definitely be back and recommend this restaurant to anyone who loves exceptional food in a warm, welcoming atmosphere. Thank you for an amazing evening!
Josip — Google review
We were there during lunch time and not in the main season. We sat between these beautiful old houses under the trees in the courtyard almost by ourselves. The atmosphere is out of this world and feel like you a brought back in time. The menu had everything you could hope for and a great local wine selection. We shared a meat and cheese variation which was amazing combined with some wine. The waiter was very friendly and attentive. I could literally eat there every day. What a great experience!

We had such a lovely experience at Dalmatian Ethno village. As soon as you walk in the scenery is gorgeous and well looked after. All of the staff there are friendly and attentive they couldn’t do more for you. Our waiter for the evening was Franko and he was very welcoming, attentive, informative with excellent and friendly service throughout . I highly recommend the food especially the exotic mousse for dessert. It’s definitely a must visit for an evening meal!

How can you top this place!!! Unbelievable and the best food, experience and the most amazing nights we have had in Croatia! Sanja provided the best service and the entire village is such an experience you have to come here! Book ahead and you wont be disappointed.

‼️Unfortunately, there’s no option to give 6 stars ‼️ Because if there were AMADRIA PARK, specifically DALMATIAN ETHNO VILLAGE, would deserve a seventh ⭐ Honestly, there is no place in Croatia or the world that has recreated the authentic Dalmatian spirit with such perfection. Not a single stone is out of place, not one shutter is off, not a single flower or olive tree is growing where it shouldn’t. Every detail is pure poetry of the Mediterranean 🌿⛪ You’re not visiting a theme park you’re stepping into a living, breathing postcard of old Dalmatia. The kind our grandparents lived in, and the kind we all secretly long for. This isn’t decoration this is emotion, heritage, and soul. If UNESCO hasn’t heard of this yet, someone needs to send them the pin 📍 And the food? A dream. Special mention to the white veal so tender it melts like a memory passed down in a family recipe. Every bite tells a story 🍽️❤️ Bravo AMADRIA PARK. This isn’t a resort. It’s a feeling.
Hrvoje Z — Google review
My recent visit to this restaurant was, unfortunately, a deeply deeply disappointing experience, easily the worst dining outing I've had in years. The prices were exorbitantly high, completely unjustified by the quality of the food, which was terrible. Even the salad was a complete letdown, with cucumbers that were far from fresh, tasting stale and limp. The risotto with shrimp was equally poor, as the shrimp were of shockingly low quality, lacking flavor and texture. The beetroot risotto was just uncooked and bland and even a decent amount of salt and pepper couldnt revive it. Worst of all was the fish soup, which was watery, tasteless, and had no discernible trace of fish. Overall, the food was beyond bland and poorly prepared, making this an experience I’d rather forget. I cannot recommend this place to anyone seeking a decent meal. On the plus, the staff were nice and friendly and the wine was good.
Olga P — Google review
I came back to this restaurant after a year, and it was just as amazing as I remembered. The quality, taste, and presentation of the food are still outstanding, and the atmosphere feels warm and welcoming. It’s rare to find a place that keeps such high standards over time, but this one truly does. The staff are friendly and attentive, making the whole experience even more enjoyable. Highly recommend — one of the best spots I’ve been to, and I’ll definitely keep coming back
TAURAS G — Google review
Unforgettable experience. It was one of the best restaurants we’ve been to. Paško was serving us and we were extremely happy with our night. First thing is the place which is arranged with so much taste, the flowers and stones fit together perfectly. It’s very cohesive and rustic. Paško knew everything about the dishes, recommended excellent wine. We ordered cheese of choice and the experience was fantastic. The waiter cut cheese next to us and told us everything about each of them. The fish we ordered were fresh and very delicate. The whole vibe and amazing service are unmatched. Definitely recommend. If Paško would be your waiters you will have a great night. Can’t wait to visit it again.

Park
Aquapark Dalmatia, located at Solaris Beach Resort in Sibenik, is a vibrant aquatic playground suitable for families and thrill-seekers alike. As Croatia's oldest themed waterpark, it offers over 8,000 square meters of water-filled fun. The park features an array of attractions including slides, sprays, kids' pools, a lazy river, and the cascading Aqua Rain fortress.
Went to the indoor aquapark. The place is amazing. All the floors are heated, covered with some kind of ruubber foam in the pool areas so it is not slippery. 2 level dry playroom for kids above 3yo. Restaurant and caffee. The only thing lacking inside is a swimming pool. Since there is none, people swim in the lazy river

It is a great water park for kids and grown ups. The outer part is huge and versatile. The kid loved the sliders and I found them very cool. My favorite was the Lazy River. I could float forever.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Give this review a thumbs up if you found it helpful 👍 Prices are not too high compared to what you usually expect in water or amusement parks – everything feels fair. There’s a great selection of food, ice creams, sunscreen and kids’ toys at the kiosks. The gym here really surprised me – it’s honestly one of the best I’ve ever seen in a water park or hotel: brand-new equipment, everything spotless, and it even smells like new. The waterslides are a lot of fun and the Lazy River is perfect for relaxing. The whole park is very clean, toilets are spotless, and hygiene is clearly a top priority. Overall, a really well-kept and enjoyable place – highly recommend!

A wonderful place for a family day out! I really enjoyed this water park, and the kids were absolutely thrilled. Everything was very clean, there were plenty of slides, and no smell of chlorine at all. The staff constantly kept the area tidy and clean. There’s convenient parking and a decent snack bar with hot dogs, fries, and burgers. A ticket for our family of four cost €140. The only small issue was finding a sunbed in the shade — not so easy later in the day. Luckily, we managed to find one without much trouble, so maybe we were just lucky. I believe if you arrive in the morning, you won’t have any problems finding a spot in the shade.
Alexander K — Google review
The price of the park is extremely high – €40 per person. On top of that, you have to pay for parking, which is also very expensive. You even need to pay for sunbeds. Food and drinks inside the park are also ridiculously overpriced. The cheapest option is a hot dog for €8 – and that’s without anything on the side. A small portion of fries with a small hamburger costs nearly €20 per person. That said, it is a beautiful park, and the pools are clean.
BegrijpbaarRecht — Google review
quite high price....but overall nice...for a whole day it's worth the money...but there are a few things that the administration of this complex should probably rectify...very few staff who speak another language besides the national languages...let's keep in mind that there are a lot of foreign tourists...I understand the notion of cleanliness but it's not good sense to go with a broom to pick up all the dust from below that settles on food placed on a counter for pick-up...
Valsan M — Google review
Great closed pool for smaller children, even for sunny days or windy weather. A bit poor choice of food for snacks. Prices ok regarding it's watter attraction site.
Alen V — Google review
1) This place was much, much too tame for my 12 and 15 year old girls. The slides are aimed at under tens and definitely not even for only slightly adventurous dads. The Lazy River could be better called The Stationary Canal. Their website doesn't really make that clear. If it had I wouldn't have booked. So now you know what to expect. It's why I only gave the place 3 stars. Judging by the amount of happy toddlers and small children though I can recommend it if you do have children under 10. There are indoor and outdoor slides and attractions depending on the weather and time of year. My children thought it was expensive at 40 euros/person. There are some other indoor 'wellness' and 'fitness' features that I was not interested in given I was there for my children. 2) The cheeseburger meal from the outside 'Fast Food Splash' restaurant was superb! The burger was perfectly cooked, fat and tasty and way above what I was expecting! Better than many 'proper' restaurants. Given what I got I was pleased with the price too. 3) I bought the tickets in advance online. The payment site debited my card but then said it couldn't process the payment and didn't send any email. Fortunately this was sorted in seconds on arrival by courteous staff. 4) Signs. It needs more signs to guide the day visitor. It's the only place of its type I've ever seen that doesn't have a huge colourful welcome sign at the open entrance. It's almost like they want you to be confused or uncertain! 5) When you finally get to the turnstile entrance to the waterpark they have nice yellow signs at knee height telling you which sensor/gate combination to use with your wristband entry key. However they are too low for the average adult to spot them when you are in front of the gate so you can use up your one entry with the wristband trying to open the wrong gate! I can't be the only one that stupid! 6) The place is very clean and tidy. Safety is clearly a priority. Everything is in good condition and there are plenty of staff. It wasn't very full on a weekday in mid June so I didn't really need to book online. Might be different during Croatian school holidays.

Šibenik City Museum

Museum
Art Galleries
The Šibenik City Museum is housed in the medieval Rector's Palace, situated alongside the Cathedral of St. James facing the Adriatic. Established in 1925, this museum showcases artifacts and exhibits that trace Šibenik's history from prehistoric times to the present day. While it may not offer interactive displays, it provides a unique insight into the city's Illyrian and Croatian heritage, distinguishing it from neighboring cities like Split or Zadar.
The entry fee of 5€ is very fair for the experience at the Šibenik City Museum. While it’s a smaller museum, it presents its content across several levels, starting with a beautifully designed ground floor featuring a glass ceiling. The exhibition is very well-curated, allowing visitors to follow the city’s historical timeline as they make their way through the museum. Though it’s not a huge museum and the number of exhibits is limited, the arrangement is thoughtful, with everything explained clearly in both Croatian and English. There are also several multimedia and video installations that provide more in-depth details and immersive scenes from the past, closely tied to the artifacts on display. Unfortunately, some of the monitors were off during our visit, possibly because we were the only visitors at the time. One great feature is that all levels of the museum are accessible by wheelchair, although I did wonder how a wheelchair user would navigate the stairs at the entrance, as I didn’t notice a ramp or lift. Overall, it’s a very enjoyable museum experience, and I highly recommend it for anyone interested in the history of Šibenik.
Yo L — Google review
We passed the museum on our way to the church. Two big canons graced the frontage with stoneworks on the lawn.. We didn't go in ...as the reviews were contradictory...but aircon not working means we made a correct decision on a superhot day in July . Maybe next time we will go in.

One of the better museums I have been to, it has multiple floors that describe the history and the culture of Šibenik. It has everything from pottery to cannon and swords exhibited inside, the temperature is just right. There is a lot of smart TVs where you can watch films about certain topics. I 100% recommend it, you don't want to miss this beautiful museum! Children under 15 go for free
Omer F — Google review
So much thought and care was put into what is on display regarding the city's long turbulent history from ceramics, jewelry, funerary plaques, parts of buildings to old documents, invention drawings, weapons etc And everything is well described in English. My parents and I (mid 60s and 30s) loved the museum - my parents do not even typically enjoy museums and they were enthused! It really put beautiful Sibenik into historical perspective.
Xenia B — Google review
Very good museum, nicely done, interesting and with plenty of thought put in. Worth checking out.
Lisa S — Google review
The museum is small but has a nice exhibit. It would have been lovely to take some time to look at these but the A/C was not turned on even tho it was the middle of summer. It was over 30 degrees outside and the sun was shining. It was way too hot und stuffy to enjoy any of the exhibit. Getting out of the the museum was a relief cuz it was way cooler outsde than inside. It's quite a shame. We also paid 5€ per Person. It would have been nice to let ppl know that the A/C isn't turned on. I nearly fainted cuz it was so hot and stuffy.

Good place to learn something interesting from Croatian history. We were there almost alone. Shame is that there is no air condition :)

The hospitable staff creates a welcoming atmosphere for guests to enjoy their meal either indoors or alfresco on the cobblestone terrace. Reservations are recommended due to its popularity. After a long day of traveling, we stumbled upon this place, and we definitely didn’t regret it. Wow, what a fantastic experience! Everything was fresh, beautifully presented, and made with local ingredients. I was born and raised in France, and I have to say, their cheese plate even topped the ones back home! The house wine paired perfectly with my sea bass, and my boyfriend had a red wine (something with “Delusional” in the name) that went wonderfully with his meat dish. The dessert wine was also exceptional, and the desserts themselves were light and delicious, almost felt healthy! I’d highly recommend dining here if you’re looking for fresh, high-quality food and a memorable experience. The service was warm and the staff incredibly friendly, it really made the whole evening special.

Exceptional dinner, service and experience! Intentional menu with standout, fine dining, well-portioned dishes. We ordered several dishes to try and loved everything we had — especially the Brudet (seafood soup), cheese plate, and fish pate plate. Amazing place to try local Dalmatian wines as well. Very reasonably priced without compromising quality or experience. Must try! Thanks Adrian :)

Four of us enjoyed a wonderful meal at Konoba Nostalgia. The food was wonderful. We each had a cold and a warm entre. The presentation was beautiful with filling portions and nice taste sensations. Adrian was outstanding in the way he described the food - how it is cooked and where it comes from. They are sourcing most of the food from the Sibenik area. Each item has a great story. He is a young owner with a great presence with his customers. His father is the chef, and a very experienced one at that. Great atmosphere and convenient location just one street above the waterfront on a quiet walking street.

Best place to have a unique experience! It is a family owned restaurant with an unusual concert. Each of their food is a piece of art, so nice and a very interesting combination of tastes. The staff team is very kind, explaining about the food with a passion and always close around. They even created custom paper table mats with different historical facts and information, I was enjoying reading about Tesla. Very smart. This place will be great for a nice and unforgettable dinner!

Tomaseo Konoba is a restaurant situated on Sibenik's waterfront, offering stunning views of the Adriatic Sea. It features a wide range of traditional Dalmatian dishes and delectable desserts, including the highly praised Floating Island. What sets it apart is its designated smoking area, allowing patrons to enjoy a post-meal cigarette without inconveniencing others. The place is beautiful and the service friendly. I had the bean soup wich was nice, i don't eat beans but this one i liked it. For main i had the monk fish, the truffle sause was very good. For dessert i had a traditional cake with walnuts, its was ok, maybe I should have the cheesecake. The wine the waitress suggested was just what i needed. Very good!

Nice little restaurant with seaview with good atmosphere. AIR CONDITIONED (when it is extremely hot outside). The bread is sooo good! We took monk fish with truffle sauce, beef tenderloins strips wok style and shrimps on polenta and cheese. All were good, my favorite was the wok style beef strips. Waitress was extremely friendly. Main dishes around 20€, appetizers around 10€ and there's an obligatory 2€/person couvert charge.

Wonderful culinary experience! Delicious hors-d'hoeuvres and a perfect match between the fish plateau and the Korta Katarina Posip white wine, with a lovely friendly staff to accompany them. This place will make our memories of Sibenic unforgettable! Highly recommended

A restaurant worth repeating. We had the fish platter to start and it was amazing! Fish was properly prepared and had a ton of flavor. The monkfish was tastey and the truffles... well, they speak for themselves. Service was great and the wine was just as good. A bit pricey, but if you're looking for quality, well worth it.

This restaurant offers a warm and inviting environment for people to come together. The menu features a variety of Mediterranean dishes, including warm and cold appetizers such as tuna carpaccio with arugula, capers, and Grana Padano.
A very stylish and great looking restaurant in Sibenik. Location is super cool: in the middle of an old city there is a small square with a huge tree and an elevated section, where all tables are. This you have nice shade in hot weather. The choice is good with fish, meat and veggie dishes. Soup as an appetizer fitted very good. As the main I chose homemade gnocchi. They were more dough than potatoes, but still very nice. Can highly recommend this place, was a great atmosphere and ambient.

Wow! Amazing place! We really enjoyed dinner in this place. I ordered my two boys ( 5 and 8 years old) vegie burger, and then they saw that burger, even without buns, they were shocked but after trying to eat that burger, they liked it so much, that we needed to order another one. Could give 4 stars for the food and definitely 5 starts for the rooftop terrace. First my boyfriend and I ate at the restaurant downstairs. We took daily soup to start with. It tasted really well (mashed tomato and vegetable soup). The main course was alright. My pasta pesto was ok while my boyfriend’s dish (falafel) had a little bit more taste in it. Afterwards both of us got upstairs to the rooftop bar. It was amazing! We captured the sunset with great cocktails (which were not that expensive) as well as enjoyed a very pleasant rooftop view. Given this, I recommend the rooftop bar to any visitor. To sum up: food was good, rooftop bar was great! Also, the prices were moderate - not among the higest ones.

Konoba Gorica is a charming and intimate restaurant located in the heart of Sibenik's oldest neighborhood. The cozy atmosphere makes it perfect for a romantic dinner, so booking ahead is advisable due to its small size. The menu may not be extensive, but every dish is a winner, with the stuffed squid being a standout favorite. Situated near the Art Gallery Juraj Dalmatinac, this spot has become popular for its picturesque setting and Instagram-worthy frames on the wall.
We highly recommend! It was absolutely delicious. The place is very calm and beautiful. The waiters were very friendly and over all the food was outstanding. Especially considering the price which is suitable for what you get (which is high quality food and service) and also the same prices compared to other moderate restaurants in Sibenik. (I recommend making a reservation.) We ate the fish plate as a starter and as a main, the truffle pasta and lasagna.

Any Resturant that as you sit draws up 5 wine glasses and walks you through a tasting of each of the reds available just so your as satisfied as possible, is probably headed in the right direction. Then to follow that up with two different unique craft olive oils for the bread. What can be said. Somewhere I attached the current menu. Perfectly limited but with a great selection. Set in a small neighborhood courtyard. If your in town I’d recommend it. Run by a brother and sister who make a special effort to explain what your partaking of. A small spot with limited seating perfect.

Genuinely charming restaurant in a perfect town courtyard setting. Exceptional service, all food delivered by the chef with the story of the ingredients. Very friendly front of house, most welcoming. Food was fresh and locally sourced cooked to a very high standard. Excellent wine list and cocktails. The rose spritz with tiny flowers in was delightful. We even had guess the desert to finish the meal. You will need to book. It's small (10 tables) and was fully booked.

All around very good. Friendly and attentive staff, good selection of food and wine.. And very tasty. Not too cheap but also not too expensive. Recommend for perfect ending to a nice day. The outside terrace is situated in front of the restaurant on a small plaza. I'm not a big fan of sea food, but I thought once on this holiday I have to try :) so I decided for the white fish plate and I was not disappointed. I had high hopes for this place as it has a huge gluten free menu. Maybe the food is nicer but after waiting just over an hour for it to arrive after ordering, it tasted bland. Mixed grill, some items were near cold, some piping hot. I understand everything is fresh, however an hour for 4 simple dishes is my reason for 3* review. Has potential for 4... Cash only.

Lovely food and great service in the heart of Šibenik. Under relatively new ownership (I believe) and they’re working hard on a developing a nice restaurant that will be open all year. The best of luck to them. Oh, and the Sea Bass is fantastic.

Tucked away in a gorgeous little alleyway, waiting staff were attentive and food was delicious. Some of the best bread I've had in the region.. plus 2.50 euros for a small glass of wine 👊🏼

Unexpectedly very pleased! Located in a cozy location and the food that we had; tuna steak was full of flavour. The service was great and quick. We even had some rakija, on the house😀

Konoba Dalmatino is a gem. The food is fresh, simple, and full of Dalmatian flavor – nothing fancy, just really well done. The staff is warm and down-to-earth, like you’ve known them for years. If you’re in Šibenik and want something honest and good, this is the spot.
Match H — Google review
Lovely location, but unfortunately untasty food, unprofessional and unfriendly service. We had risotto with shrimps (see photo) which was just boiled rice with some tomato type color and a few tiny, chewy shrimps. No taste whatsoever. The Cevapcici and French Fries were like rubber. The restrooms are terrible - no toilet paper, very hot and stinky inside the bathroom, and sticky. There are a number of places nearby that have better for an service, would recommend choosing an alternative to this.

Delicious well priced food, we had sea bass and risotto, both were excellent and not waterfront prices. Under new owner and they’re really offering excellent service.

Nestled in the heart of Šibenik, Bronzin is a culinary gem that beautifully marries tradition with flavor. This charming restaurant pays homage to Dalmatian heritage, serving generous portions of local delicacies that are sure to tantalize your taste buds. The name "Bronzin" itself harks back to a traditional Dalmatian pot used for slow-cooking meats and seafood over an open flame, creating rich and comforting dishes.
We had the polenta with shrimps and a veal risotto. Both dishes with rich in flavor, good portions, delicious and nicely presented. The terrace is really nice to enjoy cause on a sunny day you can enjoy the sun and if you sit on one part of the terrace you can see sea as well. The waiter was nice, attentive and polite. I will definitely come back.

Bronzin offers a delightful dining experience in the heart of Šibenik. Located at Obala palih omladinaca 5b, the restaurant boasts a modern, Scandinavian-inspired interior and a charming outdoor terrace overlooking the sea. It's an ideal spot for both lunch and dinner, providing a relaxed yet refined atmosphere. The menu features a blend of traditional Dalmatian dishes and international classics. We had a sea bass and a burger. Service is attentive and professional, contributing to a pleasant dining experience. Prices are a little bit expensive considering the location.

Very good place with few touches needed for the fifth star. We head dinner reservations for 3 at 8pm. I found the place rather noisy but we could still talk. Service was good and professional, I got a bit confused as we did not get the second course cutlery, and we needed to wait with main course on the table for few minutes for cutlery to arrive. I am just not sure whether we were supposed to keep the stater cutlery or it was just a slight oversight. Portions are generous, event bit more than I prefer. Pasta with seashells for example loaded the plate what resulted in beginning of the dish to be a bit too dry. Due to quantity of shells also a bit difficult to manage but on average very tasty. Everything else was amazing. Definitely the place to visit while in Šibenik.

This is the best restaurant in Šibenik, I can tell. We got the Steamed Beeftek, Beef Carpacio and a Black Risotto. It turned out amazing. I reccomend, might even return for myself. The prices are not THAT crazy. It deserves 5+ stars. The Beeftek was crunchy on the outside, soft (medium rare) on the inside. An absolutely reccomended experience.

The restaurant was close to our hotel and recommended as a popular. We came here for late lunch and were promptly seated (the place was almost empty). The service was quick and helpful, we ordered a fish and a seafood pasta as suggested by the waiter. Both were good, especially the fish. The main disappointment (and the reason for only 3 stars) were the drinks. We ordered a mojito and an Old Fashioned. Both were bad to the degree that we didn't finish them (which is very rare). The ambience was fine considering time of the day and location. Overall, not, but nothing to write home about.

Stunning waterfront spot with a strong menu to match. The lasagne was packed with flavour, with crispy edges of cheese and a generous portion size. The salmon was perfectly cooked, couldn’t fault it. Honestly, I’d come back just for the view and atmosphere alone. We walked in and were lucky to get a table earlier in the sitting, but I’d recommend booking ahead if you can.

Linguine and clans were amazing, not the shrimp risotto. The wine was a good price as well. Also the Prosciutto and melon was tasty.
Stacy W — Google review
Quite good restaurant, nice service. Everything was super fresh and of high quality. Me being vegetarian I got delicious fresh baked potatoes and salad. The location is next to a busy road. Be prepared to inhale some fumes with your meal.

Restaurant
Restoran Pjat, which means "plate" in Dalmatian, is a new dining establishment situated along the waterfront of Sibenik. It has quickly become a favorite among both locals and tourists. The restaurant's philosophy revolves around serving traditional Dalmatian cuisine made from fresh ingredients sourced from the chef's own organic farm. This commitment to using locally grown produce has earned Restoran Pjat a reputation as one of the top dining spots in Sibenik.
Great great food, fantastic service and recommendations! The grilled octopus was the best I’ve had in Croatia! Our lovely server recommended wine, and it did not disappoint!:)

This restaurant is a gem! The service was impeccable and the food was absolutely delicious! Our waiter, Ante, was friendly and funny and especially attentive. We enjoyed the best calamari of our trip. The bread was warm and fresh. The dessert, lemon torte, was light and somehow extravagant at the same time. Add the beautiful view of the water and the pleasant weather, and wow! Highly recommend!

Lovely staff and very knowledgeable. Fresh fish and delicious dishes. The portions are good. I loved the wine recommendation, me and my husband had a lovely dinner.
Martina F — Google review
A unique experience! The restaurant is located in a beautiful square full of life. All the dishes were palatable. The main dishes need some time to be cooked, but that's what we are expecting from a good restaurant like this. The waiter who served us for the night was polite and one of the most knowledgeable waiters that I've ever met. He asked about the kind of wine that we like and based on that and our dish choices, he proposed two bottles. A cheap and an expensive version, which I appreciate a lot. At the end we ordered sweets and he offered us two different wines on the house based on the sweets that we have chosen. Everything was spectacular! Thank you!

The restaurant has a different owner than last year, thus forget all the photos of the food and reviews from last year. :) I am scoring 5* as the waitress was super sweet and polite. Some dishes better than others, the black risotto and tuna pate - must try, super delicious. We found some dishes too salty but we felt that in other restaurants as well and maybe it is normal around here to use more salt than we are used to. 🤪
Elena C — Google review
My favorite restaurant in the region! Everything is delicious. We have had the seafood pasta as a starter and followed by the daily special (hake) and beef cheek. The beef cheek melts in your mouth and is incredible. The hake was delectable as well and came with caramelized cabbage - super tasty. Highly recommend if you’re in the area.

This place is well deserving of its five stars. We got the blue plate shared appetizer which is probably the best starter I’ve had in a month of travels around the region The fish stew was pretty amazing as well. Pictures of that didn’t turn out so well but it’s very good and nuanced in its flavors. Decent wine selection. Certainly a must stop if you’re in town.

Very good! And super service 🤩 food was delicious, my husband had the tuna ( I don’t normally like it), but i tasted it and it was so juicy and amazing! All the food we had here was amazing. And the desert. Wow. Coming back just for that!

Split Airport will always have a special place in my heart because of one unforgettable travel story. I had stayed up all night celebrating Croatia’s big World Cup win and then went straight into dancing until sunrise at Ultra Music Festival. I almost let some friends convince me to skip my flight, but at the very last minute I decided that was probably a terrible life choice so I grabbed my backpack and sprinted to the airport. I showed up at 7:15 AM for a 6:50 AM flight (yeah… I know 😅), walked up to the counter wearing a Croatian soccer jersey, totally exhausted, and said, “Ma’am, here’s my passport. I’m pretty sure I missed my flight.” She looked at me, smiled, and said, “Girl, you’re one of us now. We’ve all been up all night.” She typed a few things into the computer, handed me a boarding pass and said, “Run.” I somehow made it onto that plane, sat down, and realized I was flying to Switzerland with absolutely nothing planned for when I landed. No hotel, no itinerary just pure freedom. Split Airport might not be the biggest airport in the world, but that morning it felt like the gateway to adventure. Great energy, friendly people, and a memory I’ll never forget. 💙🇭🇷✈️

A small quiet airport with a mix of low cost carriers and full service ones. We did reach quite early from split which is some 30minutes away. We had a wizz air flight to warsaw 0845am and reached at 0630. Can leave by 0630 instead. No specific airline counters as they are for all flights. Croatia has great service and smiling people and super efficient. Here I am sorry to say people were rough to the point of rudeness. The young boy in the convenience shop was very helpful and needs to be commended. The coffee bar near gate 4&5 had superfast service and you can grab a bite there. You check in and then straight to security check which again is very efficient. Hardly any aerobridges here so you have to walk to the aircraft on the tarmac or if aircraft is parked further away cobus buses do the job. Airport need to use a covered platform for the step ladder as we caught a cold when we landed in degrees temp and drizzle. Thats a feedback. Baggage is superfast and efficient though if you are coming from an International flight even if going to another schengen country your have to pass through passport control which take time

The Airport looks nice and new, however customer experience depends on people who work there. On our flight back home from Split we drove to Kiss&Fly area that could be better marked but we found it and stopped at the closest parking section to unload our luggage out of the rental car and even before we got a chance to exit the car there was a guard who was telling us we couldn’t stop there, we were surprised because that section was not marked or had any barriers to indicate so. Guard came and just said “but you can’t stop here “ and we said ok and that it’s not marked as closed so we couldn’t know and he yelled at us: “You don’t know how to drive”. We used a second section and left with a car immediately and I approached the guard and told him that he can’t talk to us that way. He started to yell questions like: what did I said so rude and talked over me constantly not allowing me to say anything and being disrespectful and dismissive towards me. I asked for his name or employee ID number so I could complain about the situation. He refused. I said I will need to take a photo of him in that case so that his employer can know who I had a complaint about. In that moment his supervisor came and started talking to me in the same dismissive manner telling me that the first guy was not rude in any way even though they didn’t allow me to speak at all. And than the supervisor with blue glasses frame said: “You don’t know what is to have a problem & You (plural as we customers )mean nothing to us” - and this sums up the whole situation perfectly. I left afterwards because obviously this is hospitality that they aim for and went to Information booth to ask for Customer Service email and young lady there pretended that she doesn’t know and doesn’t know the name of the company that guard works for, she even suggested that I go back to obviously hostile guard and read on his shirt the name of his company. Croatia is a beautiful country however people living there need to do a lot of growth to justify the prices that are telling visitors that this is a place of high quality and excellent service. This event happened on September 20th 2025. between 18:00-19:00h.

Great airport if you are travelling into or out of Split, Croatia. Pros: - small, easy to navigate - easy Uber or bus to and from town - excellent toilet paper arrangement in restroom. Did not tear upon dispense. Cons: - not many food/beverage choices before or after security. Basically the same cafe, replicated a few times with cold sandwiches (decent), limited beer and acceptable espresso.

Net and Clean - Arrival - claim baggages. Add some departure pictures on my way back. By the way, their black coffee is good (taste normal not too roasted)

Great experience using this airport, flew in from UK, steps arrived at our plane in no time at all, then ushered into the building to collect our baggage which didn't take too long. Went through the the exit where our taxi man was waiting.

It’s a pretty nice airport relative to what I expected. The check in staff check you in for all airlines so it’s very quick. Also the security line was efficient. It’s small once you get through security and there’s only 2 coffee shops so if you want a more full meal you should get it before you come here.
Maddy A — Google review
Beautiful airport, spacious and relaxing with no long queues. Rather limited shopping and food options. One big duty free shop, a newsagent type place and a cafe plus a smaller duty free and cafe once in the non EU departures gate area.

Zadar Airport

International airport
Airport
Small airport with 7 gates. Security is straightforward, you cannot check bags prior to 2 hours from scheduled takeoff. If you are renting or returning a car expect delays. The procedure is slow, we returned a car to end a one-way rental, this required about 45 minutes. All agents we encountered were friendly.
Eric A — Google review
I travel a lot , so I’ve seen quite a few airports. But this one… absolutely filthy. The departures hall is literally a party tent because of reconstruction, and yet the whole place still looks like trash. My flight was delayed, so I was forced to spend even more time in this disgusting hell. And a small dry baguette for €7? What a joke—just like the entire airport. There are no flight boards at the gates, so you have to check it yourself in a anorther building…
Ondřej B — Google review
Arrivals was fast and easy. Departure not so good. I'm not sure if there is building works to improve the terminals or if what I experienced was the finished article. The check in, security and duty free were great but the Departure lounge was like sitting in an aircraft hangar. Very poor catering which doesn't resemble the website description and very expensive (€4 for a bottle or water or a coffee). There is no water fountains to refillable your own bottle. At gate 7, used for flights to the UK, there is only a vending machine which only sells fizzy drinks no water. There also is no smoking area after security even though it's listed on their website. Hopefully all these issues are temporary, whilst the building work is being carried out?

🛫 Zadar Airport is currently under reconstruction – basically a bus stop with a tent. ⛺ You walk through a maze of slightly heated tents, finished last minute. 🔥 I’ve flown a lot, but heated tents as airport halls? That’s a first. ✈️ At least there are flights to Košice, which makes cheap transfers possible – that’s a big plus for me. 🚌 The transport, though, is a disaster. Classic Slavic style: someone sets random times, charges a high price, and calls it a service. ⏳ When the plane from Košice lands, the bus conveniently has a 1.5-hour gap. Makes zero sense. 🌍 Good thing is there are also flights to other destinations, not only Košice. 🤔 But will this airport ever reach a proper standard? Honestly, I doubt it – even the lounge sign feels like a bad joke.
Michael Š — Google review
The airport is small and currently under renovation, which causes some inconveniences. There are not enough waiting areas, both before and after the security check, making it crowded and uncomfortable at times. You can get to the city of Zadar by shuttle bus, which costs 5€, or by taxi using Uber or Bolt from around 15€. I hope everything will improve after the renovation is completed.
Viyaleta A — Google review
Shocking facilities. Almost all the flights were delayed. When we arrived at 6pm there was only one cafe open which was selling a pathetic €7 salami sandwich. The gates are essentially a marquee with no heating. The business lounge was closed. Coca cola was €5.5 and a bottle of water was €4. No free water refills either. Definitely make sure to eat before coming here
Shelley H — Google review
The bus station is not clear for visitors. Furthermore, there are lots of brokers who are friendly to have “rides”. Thus, being careful of schedule and map is essential.
黃英傑 — Google review
Small airport, efficient security. As of 2025, Zadar Downtown (“peninsula”) has become more expensive than Dublin, Ireland, and the airport has as well: Coca Cola 0.5L unjustifiably costs €5.50 at gate 3-7 area, which itself is a giant and cold tent. I can understand smaller airports taking years to develop, but at this point, Zadar Airport has plenty of traffic, and it is not developed nearly enough to be charging prices to the level of €5.50 for 0.5L. Or Ožujsko for €6. As of 2025, in the early morning, the airport is reachable by public transit on an hourly basis from downtown. Have a flight at 6:40am? Your bus is at 4am or 5am (it might be the case 5am is enough). Payable by card, “mere” €5; and if you’re extra lucky, doing so might get the bus driver to call you a degenerate — fun! If you’re unlucky, the card machine will be broken, as was the case for me on the way from the airport. When arriving, there’s plenty of ATM machines at the exit. Before euro, these would give horrible rates even when run by major banks — I have not tried them out in 2025. Security staff is nice, and the line is efficient, and schedule of public transit likely can’t improve (and cost of it and behavior of the driver is not the airport’s problem; it’s the transit agency’s); but the costs inside the airport really need to be more realistic compared to the services.
