Castles
Castello di San Martino is a must-visit destination with its wonderful museum showcasing the battle, followed by a rewarding walk up the hill behind it offering breathtaking views of the city. The hike to the castle is worth it, and visitors are advised to bring sunblock and water, especially in summer. The trails leading to the castle are surrounded by trees and offer great views. While not exactly a castle, it functions as a monastery with limited access due to most areas being private.
Driving there for me was a bit tricky,so I parked at the church and walked up to the castle. Good walk! Take plenty of water and sunblock ( it's July) once there. It was beautiful. I was the only person there! I sat there enjoyed the view.
Angelica W — Google review
It's not necessarily a castle, but really a monastery. It's a functioning monastery. There is nothing to actually see inside but you can wander around the gardens.
Paul H — Google review
This stunning location, reminiscent of Spain's Alhambra, sits majestically atop a mountain, offering breathtaking views of the town below. Yet, despite its beauty and the public donations that help sustain it, the site is unfortunately closed to the very public that helps support it. It's a strange situation—imagine the Alhambra being privatized and no longer accessible to visitors. Currently, it’s open only one day a month, rather than year-round. They say it’s a functioning monastery, but still, it’s hard not to feel that this treasure should be more accessible. For clarity, the site is owned by the Diocese of Vittorio Veneto, not the Vatican (so they’re not to blame here), but it’s difficult not to think that the gardens, at least, should be open to the public. The people of Vittorio Veneto deserve better, in my opinion. It’s a shame to see such a magnificent place kept behind closed doors.
Sven — Google review
I'm not the best driver in Italy so I decided to Park the car at the museum and walk to the castle. It's a good walk. If you are here in the summer have plenty of sunblock and water. Once at the castle it's absolutely beautiful! The view is wonderful. Worth the hike
Andy W — Google review
Nice view from the top. Good place to take some steps around. I recommend to take some water with you, especially if you are planning to go even higher than the Castle height
Ciprian C — Google review
Lots of tree cover on the trails and path to the castle. Great views from the side trails! It wasn't difficult to drive up there in our small car (seems like a single-lane road).
Jeff O — Google review
Amazing views of Vittorio Venetto, splendid structure, limited access because most of the structure is private.
Erik S — Google review
I was to see the wonderful museum of the battle. After having seen the museum I wanted to make a walk and it felt just natural to make a walk up the little hill behind it. It was really worth while. Having done the climb I could enjoy the most wonderful view over the city. Try it!

Santuario di Santa Augusta

Points of Interest & Landmarks
The Sanctuary of Saint Augusta in Serravalle offers a picturesque setting, perched on a hill overlooking the medieval hamlet of Serravalle. Visitors can reach the sanctuary by ascending a long stone staircase from the base of the hill, which takes about 20-30 minutes and is recommended to be done with proper footwear and water. The chapel marks the site where Augusta, daughter of a local feudal lord, was martyred in the 5th century for her Christian faith.
A great little hike. The view is great, even in foggy wintertime. You can continue upwards and picnic in some tower ruins if you want. Divertente, con un belvedere fortissimo!
Isaac B — Google review
Gorgeous natural place with stunning views. Beautiful walk to reach the sanctuary. Unfortunately i give one star for the way the sanctuary is kept ( i attache the pictures) it's a disgrace to keep the holy place as a storage. There is also plenty of trash around never picked up very disappointing.

Really a beautiful place, nature, art, history all in one place.. what an amazing energy here! Love it

Parco Grotte del Caglieron

Caves Caglieron is a stunning natural and artificial cave complex with picturesque waterfalls that can be admired from walking paths. The area is a beautiful nature reserve, offering visitors the chance to stroll amidst lush greenery and enjoy the soothing sound of flowing water. The caves are spread along the waterfalls, accessible via wooden bridges and walkways.
This place is amazing! So beautiful, it feels like a magic world in the rain forest. I visited on a Wednesday with my three children who are 6, 8, and 10. They loved it the scenery is absolutely stunning. There was no wait. It is definitely slick and the boardwalk through the park is mostly only fit for tennis shoes or something similar. We did the elevated portion of the trail and it was a lot less impressive than the lower portion. This also could have been because it was quite hot and I was struggling to understand the map. I highly recommend this excursion. Parking was easy, and there is a small café with drinks and snacks and a restroom.
Wendy W — Google review
Beautiful path, quite easy to do for people of all ages and fitness. The standard loop walk of about 1.5 miles takes you through the caves and canyon where you can see waterfalls. You're given a map at the ticket office but even without it the path is well signed and easy to follow. I recommend going early morning in summer as it can get hot hiking back up. Also the parking is a bit complicated to figure out, it would help if there were a sign post next to it with instructions instead of on-the-go reading from the meter screen which is difficult when is very sunny as the day we went. A standard loop walking slowly takes you about 1 hour so don't pay more than 1.5h parking unless you plan on having lunch at the restaurant inside the loop path or stop at the bar near the car park.
M J — Google review
Very cool place, challenging paths and great views. Lots of history and ecology along the way. Parking is 2€/hour and entry is 4€/person. DONT TAKE THE CASTLE DETOUR, long, difficult and underwhelming.
Colby R — Google review
It is an easy walking activity and very interesting cave. Not so big, so don’t plan hours. We could manage it in 1 hour. You can park next to the bridge in a Parking lot, 1 h = 2€. You need to buy the parking ticket directly from the automata. We arrived around 10 am, it was not busy.
Nikolett C — Google review
Beautiful, easy hike that’s great for young kids. There’s 2 restaurants near the trail and parking is easy to navigate. The trail is about 1.5 miles
Alyssa H — Google review
nice little 1km hike through the caves / along the creek. Walking slow and seeing everything you can finish in 20/30min. 4 euros a person and 2 euro per hour for parking is a little much but it’s a decent walk / attraction
Just G — Google review
Very beautiful views in cave, for me it's was amazing for only 4 euro have to visit it 😀

We had a fantastic experience here all thanks to Dino and the two wonderful girls. Not only is the attraction very stunning to look at and interesting to see( also a bargain 4 euros). We accidentally dropped our car key on the route and Dino and the girls couldn't have been more helpful, searching with us and hero Dino found them. Thank you so much guys for a fantastic experience!

We had a really lovely tasting experience — very informative and kind family, beautiful vineyards, and great prosecco! Highly recommend booking a tasting and ordering some bottles
Kara A — Google review
It was a nice surprise! A truly authentic family run small business. With a personal touch on everything they do. I loved to hear about the care and passion they implement in every step of the process of their Prosecco production. I love to taste the extra brut one... an unique taste of an extremely high-quality product. A genuine hidden gem to be discovered by the rest of the world 🌟
VAL O — Google review
Made a spontaneous stop here on our way to the coast and got a fantastic reception! The owner greeted us to a tasting of his great wines and also with a lot of storytelling regarding Prosecco in general. All 3 wines were great, but do not miss their extra brut prosecco! Really fantastic from this small producer.
Mats H — Google review
We had a lovely and truly informative tour. Massimo was able to answer all of our questions. It was a relatively small plantation. The Prosecco tasting afterwards was delicious, and we learned a lot about the production, the naming, and the regulations. A very worthwhile trip!

Small family running winery, Massimo is welcoming and passionate of his wine and family. Their Prosecco is really Superior, produced with hard work and dedication. Here you'll get an authentic experience surrounded by charming hills! 🍾🥂

What a wonderful winery! We booked last minute with Massimo and he did not hesitate to find a time to have us to the winery for a tasting. He was extremely kind and knowledgeable and answered all our questions. The Prosecco his family produces is excellent, I wish we had more room in our suitcase to bring home a few more bottles. Highly recommend this winery as a stop if you are in the area!

Massimo was a pleasure! We had just arrived and he was able to make time for a last minute tour for us. The tour and tasting are extremely personal, we felt right at home. Massimo is knowledge and it’s obvious that they really care about what they do; it’s why they make such a wonderful Prosecco. The prices are extremely reasonable, this place really is a gem! I hope to return some day!

The Museum of the Battle is a captivating destination for anyone intrigued by history, particularly those with an interest in World War I. This modern interactive museum offers a profound exploration of the harsh realities of war, making it an essential stop for visitors from around the globe. Located in Vittorio Veneto, it serves as a significant reminder of Italy's past and its impact on the nation's identity today.
Great visit. Plenty to read and the audio was very helpful. The beautiful room at the top of the building must have been painted by the same artists as did the wealthy houses in Udine. Very same style and colours.
Christine P — Google review
Good museum right at the place a lot of military gatherings found place according to the pictures. There are a lot of screens with information which you can play in English as well.
Jeroen H — Google review
Amazing experience, but with the special effects of feeling the terrific heath of the Carso soldiers. The air conditioning was not working: the visit was a marvelous experience, but with a suffering temperature!
Roberto S — Google review
It's a nice museum, well organized with chosen materials. You need about 40 minutes to see everything by your own (I mean without a guide).
Booshra N — Google review
Small, but well stocked museum in a beautifully renovated building. Most of the text describing artifacts is only in Italian. The gun and equipment exhibitions were of special interest to us, the design of the exhibitions is smart. But I cannot give it more than 3 stars. In the part of the exhibit about the Treaty of London (see attached picture), there is a claim made, that the kingdom of Italy first tried to make a deal for neutrality with Austria - Hungary, in which Italy would in return recieve the ''unredeemed'' territories of Trieste and Trento. This is nothing more than a revanchist parole and should in no way be stated as a historical fact in any historical instituiton!
Filip L — Google review
More than one hundred years after the great war more and more museums dedicated to it pop up in north Italy. A very positive development. The museum in Vittorio Veneto is a superb example. I have visited it twice and will for sure return in the future. For all interested in this totaly meaningles war the museum is a must. I can strongly recommend it.
Hans G — Google review
For any history buff, especially with specific interest for WWI it's a special place which explains and commemorates a significant event very well. It's a benchmark in modern Italian history and the country would not exist as it does now if the battles and history in the area hadn't taken place. I've learned so much, it was reasonably priced for a group of 4 considering the wealth of content, visuals and artefacts on display. I thoroughly recommend it.
Colin T — Google review
Very surprised at the quality of exhibits and depth of explanations. Don't miss the little video stories behind the metal doors, they also have English subtitles if you turn the knob. Very impressed by the historic civic hall on the top floor. Must see if you have any interest at all in history.

The charming Museum of the Silkworm takes you on a nostalgic journey back 50 years, immersing you in the memories of our grandparents. The museum showcases fascinating videos capturing the testimonies of those who once worked at the spinning mill. It is worth noting that for just €10, visitors can also explore three other museums in Vittorio Veneto alongside this one.
(Translated by Google) Very interesting exhibition. We start from the origin of silk, to how it arrived in our country. We then move on to the sections that concern the breeding of silkworms up to the production of the yarn itself. Important testimonies with period films from the Istituto Luce, of the various manufacturing processes. Detailed exhibition rooms also with blow-ups. The display of the equipment used for the various types of processing is important. Nice catalog for sale. Just one flaw, it seems to me to be poorly advertised and consequently not very popular. We accidentally noticed a small sign indicating the location of the museum. (Original) Esposizione molto interessante.

(Translated by Google) In the early twentieth century, the banks of the Meschio witnessed notable industrial development, aimed above all at the production of silk: from sericulture, practiced in the countryside, to the spinning of textile fibre, in factories driven by hydraulic power. The activity ceased in the 1960s, but its history is told by the Silkworm Museum, marked by the chimney of the disused spinning mill that houses it. From the mulberry tree to the spools of silk, the exhibition is extremely varied - tools and equipment, publications and posters, historical photos and films, materials connected to the activity of the local silkworm centre, - testifying to what was not only one of the primary economic resources of the Vittoriese area, the engine of great social transformations, but also the reason for the city's specific relevance at a national level. Church of Saint Andrew

Catholic church
Sights & Landmarks
Points of Interest & Landmarks
The Catholic Church of Saint Andrew in Vittorio Veneto holds the distinction of being the oldest church in the area. It boasts an abundance of interior embellishments, showcasing the collaborative efforts of esteemed local artists such as Antonio Zago, Iseppo da Cividale, and Francesco da Milano. The church's magnificent frescoes add to its aesthetic appeal. However, it has been noted that this artistic haven is plagued by a lack of warmth due to challenges in effectively heating such a delicate space.
(Translated by Google) A long avenue lined with cypresses leads to the Parish Church of Sant'Andrea di Bigonzo, isolated in an open space that once served as a cemetery. The term parish indicates an original church, equipped with a baptistery, which was responsible for the Christianization of a territory, and this corresponds to the foundation of Sant'Andrea in the 4th or 5th century, that is, at the time of the martyrdom of Santa Augusta. The building in question, however, was rebuilt in Romanesque style and consecrated in 1303 with great prominence in the chronicles of the time. The facade has a five-lobed rose window in the center and two sepulchral canopies. On the south side stands the seventeenth-century bell tower while on the opposite side there is a small Renaissance portico. The very suggestive interior has a single nave covered by trusses, with four elegant canopies at the corners. The decorative accessories are noteworthy: frescoes mostly from the 15th and 16th centuries (Antonello da Serravalle, Francesco da Milano, Palma); sculptures (baptismal font with monolithic basin from the 11th century, two wooden crucifixes from the 14th and 15th centuries, a Renaissance altar with Saint Catherine), wooden tabernacle and polyptych from the Titian school; paintings attributed to Palma il Giovane (1548-1628) and Francesco Frigimelica (ca. 1560-1649). The Museo del Cenedese is distinct from the Venetian style by its tendency to drop the final "-o" sound, resulting in modifications such as "got" instead of "goto" for "cup". Additionally, when a final "-m" is followed by this dropping of "-o", it becomes nasalized to an "-n", as seen in the transformation of "semo" ("are") to "sen".

The large exhibition area of the Museum is divided into three large thematic areas: "Life in the trenches" on the ground floor, "Life during the occupation" on the first floor, with the Marson Armory attached, and finally on the second plan the exhibition “From battle to myth”. Perfectly integrated into the museum visit circuit is the multimedia laboratory set up in the deconsecrated church of San Paoletto. It has thematic educational workshops and audiovisual projections. The Loggia is first and foremost a museum of itself, due to its architectural structure, frescoes and furnishings, which harken back to the times of the Magnificent Community of Serravalle. As for the museum collection, the reference to the Cenedese concerns the territory included, approximately, between the Piave and Livenza rivers, from Val Belluna to the Adriatic Sea. The exhibition begins with the archaeological section composed of finds from the Neolithic to the Lombard age. Then, the art collection, with works from the fifteenth to the twentieth century. Worthy of particular attention: the relief Madonna with Child by Jacopo Sansovino (1486-1570); the altarpiece of San Girolamo by Francesco da Milano (1497-1543); The water carrier, silver casting by Vincenzo Gemito (1852-1929); the paintings of Pietro Paietta (1845-1911); the sculpture Amplexus in aere, by Guido Giusti (1853-1935); the contemporary art collection entitled The image of the Resistance. Ristorante Le Macine

$$$$affordable
Restaurant
Nestled conveniently near the town center, Ristorante Le Macine is a delightful spot that combines modern elegance with a warm atmosphere. Guests can indulge in an array of local dishes, including seasonal specialties and traditional Venetian meats like guinea fowl and lamb. The restaurant boasts an impressive wine cellar, featuring excellent selections such as Montepulciano. With its bright ambiance filled with natural light and picturesque river views, it’s the perfect setting for a leisurely meal.
My wife and I chose this restaurant for a leisurely lunch, and it was a very pleasant experience. The restaurant is bright with natural light and offers a nice view, which sets the stage for a relaxing meal. The lunch menu is concise but varied enough to offer something appealing for different tastes, and we found our choices to be well-prepared and tasty. We were particularly impressed with the staff's attentive service. Throughout our meal, they checked in on us just the right amount, ensuring we had everything we needed without being overbearing. Even as we stayed a bit longer than planned, past the restaurant’s closing time, our waiter remained courteous, allowing us to finish our conversation without feeling any pressure to leave. Overall, if you're looking for a spot that combines good food, a comfortable setting for conversation, and thoughtful service, this restaurant should be on your list. It strikes a nice balance for a casual, yet quality lunch experience.

Great and very good food. Very good desserts. Very nice location, great ambience. Located by the river and you have nice view from restaurant.
Diana M — Google review
Terrible. Worse than a bad school canteen lunch. But the service was good service, the only saving grace. Antipasti (starters) of snails and the prosciutto were nice. For the mains had the rabbit, pork with truffle and polenta with porcini. Presentation is a total zero, meats overcooked and tasted of stock / seasoning from a supermarket bought pack (think Bistro gravy granules). Tiny portions no where near worth the price. Hugely disappointed. Better restaurants nearby!! Will never return here!

The pizza eatery Galivm Vittorio Veneto offers a fantastic ambiance and delectable pizzas. Visiting on weekends is an enjoyable experience, as it serves as a meeting spot for the local residents. Additionally, their beer selection perfectly complements their delicious pizzas. The price for their meter long pizza is reasonable and can be shared among four adults. A trip to Vittorio Veneto would not be complete without indulging in this culinary delight.
Fabrizio is great, speaks Spanish, excellent host!! Pizza by the meter so many options and the house beer “Galivm” very tasty can’t go wrong here

Fantastic venue, very spacious (especially the outdoors area) and kids friendly. The food is excellent and it comes in generous serves. Service is very friendly and well organised. Highly recommend!!!
Edoardo D — Google review
Terrible customer service. Waited 30 minutes with waitress walking around without attending any customer and not taking orders. Abysmal service even when, after protesting with director, she finally came. Did forget half the order and after 1½h I left having eaten only a starter. Pizza sold by half metre so if you eat alone you have to force eating a way too big portion (insane). Terrible service. Will stay well away in future.
Andrea B — Google review
Great atmosphere and delicious pizza. Going there in weekends is great fun as that's the meeting place for many of the local townsfolk. They've also got great beer that goes well with their pizza. It's a great price for the meter long pizza that can be split between 4 adults. Well worth a visit when in Vittorio Veneto.

I obviously don't have a lot of reference points here but the pizza is very good. Highly recommend anything with the buffalo mozzarella. Big menu's are a bit of a worry for me, but the pizza here was done well with a good sauce and crispy crust. My Italian was non-existent but the staff were all smiles even when it was busy. Enjoy it for what it is and don't expect what it's never supposed to be. You're not getting Michelin star chef food but for me personally I like the simple but extremely tasty pizzas done with good ingredients.

La Giraffa

Restaurant
Italian restaurant
I highly recommend Trattoria La Giraffa. I visited this place to celebrate the Dutch holiday, Sinterklaas, with a group of 15 friends. The owner, Daniela, was not only friendly and helpful but also very professional. The food arrived quickly and all together, and it was incredibly tasty. The lunch experience was absolutely delightful, with Daniela making us feel at home by allowing us to sing Dutch Sinterklaas songs.
What a great find, everything we ordered was excellent. We wanted to order a second plate of these large pastas with vongole, but it was sold out already... We found the prices quite low for this location also. Do not miss this one if you go to Vittorio Veneto!
Benjamin D — Google review
I cannot properly review this establishment considering I was turned away from dining by the lady who was setting up for dinner service. While I understand that not speaking Italian can make things challenging for everyone involved, I generally find most people in hospitality are willing to try to understand and use Google translate to help… however this was not the case at La Giraffa and it was not through lack of me smiling and trying. It was also not because they were run off their feet- there was no one else in the restaurant mid week. Perhaps like the animal for which it is named the people running the establishment have little adaptability within their own environment. I found a fantastic experience further up the road and when I bring people on tour I will be sure to steer them clear of the unfriendly welcome I received.
Felicity C — Google review
I would definitely recommend this place. I went there to celebrate a Dutch feast day, Sinterklaas, with 15 friends. The owner, Daniela, was not only really friendly, helpful & patient but also very professional. The food arrived altogether, quickly and was extremely tasty/ delicious! We had an absolutely lovely amazing lunch there. Daniela made us feel at home, even allowing us to sing our hearts out with Dutch Sinterklaas songs. Thank you! I would definitely recommend this restaurant for hospitality and authentic food

Trattoria Alla Cerva

$$$$affordable
Restaurant
Trattoria Alla Cerva is a captivating establishment situated in the heart of a charming medieval square in an historic city. Guests are invited to indulge in an aperitivo before ascending to the cozy upstairs dining area. The menu offers delectable dishes such as seasonal tagliatelle ai funghi, occasional rabbit entrees, and scrumptious squash gnocchi. Desserts, particularly the mille foglie, are highly regarded.
So happy we stumbled upon this place while driving through Vittorio! Food is simple but so good, exactly what I want from Italian food. Had the best mellanzana parmigiana of my life. Pastas all taste homemade with a nice chewy texture and the millefolgie desset was light, crispy and delicious. Service was great and the restaurant itself has well thought out and tasteful decor. Would 100% recommend dining here!
Maia L — Google review
The food was great, the service was amazing. A lot of the dishes are made with peanut oil, which is not supposes to cause an allergic reaction, but I didn't want to test that theory today, the chef came out and made alteration in some of the dishes in order for me to enjoy a great meal, and I did enjoy that very much.
Segev D — Google review
We have chosen this place because the one we wanted to take was reserved for that night. How unfortunate it was... What we had here was a surreal culinary experience, to say the least. We ordered 2 antipasti for the 3 of us: - the liver pate was okay, I guess, but certainly not good. - the baked artichoke was by far the worst and saddest dish I've ever had the misfortune to have. Also, both dishes looked absolutely bland and horrible, zero taste on serving whatsoever. The artichoke was nothing else: 2 artichokes sitting on a plate. The liver pate looked like a block of cat/dog food next to three slices of bread. After this horrible start we continued with main courses: - my friends had gnocchi (pomodoro and ragu), neither of them were impressed. - I had ragu Bolognese with tagliatelle. Very small amount of otherwise tasty ragu for what seemed to be supermarket quality pasta. Once again the serving was absolutely horrible. I've eaten microwaved quick meals that looked - and honestly tasted - better. Atmosphere is also weird. People who served us were kind, but nothing redeemed the horrible kitchen. At least it was not even cheap. 12€ for the two artichokes is so blasphemous it demands its own reward of some sorts. Avoid at all costs!

Really good! Great stop on our long drive
Carolina P — Google review
The staff behaved unprofessionally — laughing and joking around in front of the guests, which was completely inappropriate. The waiter was rude, served us with visible reluctance, and practically threw the plates on the table. Not a single basic polite phrase like “please” or “thank you” was spoken. I definitely do not recommend this place.

Slightly outside of the main square and down a small side street, this place is superb. It’s more competitive here, than in the eateries nearby. Service is fast, courteous, waiting staff are very helpful, but don’t expect them to speak English. There is also a great picture on the wall from WW1 which was taken in the street outside. If you turn left out of this restaurant, and walk for 100m past the castle wall, there is a signboard which explains the bullet holes in the building ahead of you. It’s worth a short walk after your pizza.

The owner was quite rude. I don’t know if that’s the way she treats people who aren’t white or if she’s that way with everyone. Gave me the look and asked what I was there for. It’s 2018 ffs.. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ A truly special place. Recently renovated, the rooms are spacious, beautifully furnished, and feature high-quality bedding and pillows. The setting is peaceful and quiet; perfect for a restful night’s sleep. We had originally planned to stay in town but changed our minds at the last moment and we’re so glad we did. This Agriturismo offered exactly the kind of experience we were hoping for: relaxed, authentic, and close to nature. Elena, the manager, was incredibly warm and thoughtful, and made sure every detail of our stay was perfect. 👌 We also highly recommend dining at the on-site restaurant, managed by Lucia. 🙏 The ingredients come directly from their own farm, and the wine list is exceptional. Ask Lucia for a glass of her favorite Chianti; you won’t be disappointed. Breakfast was hosted by on the terrace outside; thank you Noemi! ♥️ We visited the farm as well, and it was a highlight of our trip. This is not just a “farm stay” in name but it’s the real thing. We took the farm tour, and it was a wonderful experience. The owners’ children and their grandmother came along and made it all the more personal and fun. This is a place that truly respects the land, celebrates local culture, and makes families feel welcome. It’s a perfect blend of comfort, sustainability, and genuine hospitality. Thank you for a wonderful stay. We loved everything and will definitely return.

Venice Marco Polo Airport

International airport
Airport
Venice Marco Polo Airport is a bustling international transportation hub offering a variety of amenities such as restaurants, cafes, and shops selling upscale Italian products. Visitors to Venice often find dining to be expensive due to the city's reliance on boat transportation for supplies. However, with careful planning and a higher food budget, travelers can enjoy fabulous meals throughout their stay.
This airport is compact, convenient, and well-connected to the heart of Venice, making it an excellent choice for travelers. Located just about 30 minutes away by bus, it offers frequent and affordable public transportation options, with tickets typically costing around €10. Despite its smaller size, the airport is efficiently organized. The check-in desks are located near the entrance, and all departure gates are situated on the first floor, just a short walk away—making navigation quick and stress-free. After passing through security, passengers enter a spacious lounge area that spans both the first and second floors. Here, you'll find a wide variety of restaurants and eateries serving authentic Italian cuisine, from quick bites to full meals. Prices are quite reasonable, especially when compared to many other international airports. The airport also offers a range of useful amenities, including clean and accessible restrooms, ample seating areas, and a well-maintained car park. Whether you're arriving or departing, the overall experience is smooth, comfortable, and traveler-friendly. The airport also has beautiful paintings in the floor, vending machines and free drinking water in the ground floor.

Venice Marco Polo Airport – Calm, Convenient, and Kind People 🇮🇹✈️ Venice Marco Polo Airport was a pleasant surprise—small but modern, clean, and really easy to navigate. Unlike the usual chaos of bigger international airports, this one felt calm and efficient. From the moment we entered, the signage was clear, the lines moved quickly, and the whole process—security, check-in, boarding—was simple and stress-free. There aren't tons of restaurants or shops, but enough to grab a quick bite or coffee while you wait. It's not made for long layovers, but for a short stay before your flight, it's more than enough. Plus, its location is super convenient—just 20 minutes from Mestre and easily accessible from Venice itself via bus, shuttle, or water taxi. But what really made the experience memorable were the kind and helpful locals and staff. One of them went out of her way to explain a special ACTV transport pass for travelers under 30. For just €6, we got a youth card that gave us discounts at 200+ places—including museums, cultural sites, and cafés. On top of that, we could purchase a 72-hour unlimited ACTV transport pass, which covered all buses, trams, and water buses across Venice. Super convenient and budget-friendly! It was a thoughtful send-off after a magical trip. Not flashy, but peaceful, efficient, and filled with warm energy—just like Venice itself.

The Venice Marco Polo Airport is a well-organized and convenient airport. Transferring to and from Venice is easy and efficient, with clear transportation options available. Overall, I had a pleasant experience traveling through this airport — my flights departed on time, and my luggage arrived promptly. The only downside is that passengers need to take a shuttle to reach the airplane, which can be a bit inconvenient, especially during busy times or bad weather.

The average airport. Two nice notables: surprisingly uncrowded (visited on morning of June 10), more employees than passengers, an almost dead feeling which is great. Also, it’s fun and very unique to arrive or depart by boat adjacent to the terminal. Minor negative: our hotel bus had to inexplicably drop us at a designated spot away from the terminal doors, 300 meters or so from check-in, despite there were no vehicles at 6:30 AM. I guess this is a safety practice, just that 100s of busier airports allow drop offs at the terminal door. Check-in itself was easy here, security quick and uncrowded. The terminal here is pleasant enough but lacking any “wow” architecture or artwork, not really needed right?

What you may notice 1st is how quiet this airport is. There are many things happening, but compared to airports in the US…very quiet and clean. I recommend taking care of your airport transfer before arrival, it will assist in decreasing some of the anxiety about how to get where you are going! I spoke with many who took the public water transport and they weren’t happy at all..complaints of being crowded and it dropping you at a stop that is closest to your hotel is not a good way to begin your wonderful journey in Venice! Tip: I contacted my hotel and inquired if they had a dock and what water taxi company did they recommend..so glad I did this and won’t be one of those people on IG dragging my luggage up and over bridges…no way!

We had a plane to catch early 6am. There are few aspects as to why we chose to spend our night inside the airport. Firstly, my hotel had paid shuttle service running 10am to 10pm. Asking them to come extra early seemed like troublesome for us. So knowing my older kids would not wake up next morning for airport and finding no convenient transportation to the airport we choose to leave hotel by 8pm. Checkin was not indicated for our flight so we waited in the upper level of the airport. Some benches have no handles in between and many did. There are couple of charging stations and food areas and convenient stores that close by 8:30pm while lower level ones might remain open longer. Many folks laid asleep on benches so getting a small size blanket is totally worth the trouble. There are marble benches too which tend to get cold. The security on both levels is fantastic so that is one more reason we found staying over night in airport was a plus idea. So do not hesitate to stay in airport overnight. Just thought of sharing our experience because it was a place of unknown for us too.

Venice Marco Polo Airport (Aeroporto di Venezia Marco Polo) is the primary international gateway to Venice, situated approximately 13 km from the city center. Named after the Venetian explorer, it serves as a hub for both domestic and international flights. The airport is well-connected to the city and surrounding regions, offering various transportation options. Single Terminal Layout: The airport features a single terminal, streamlining navigation for travelers. Free Wi-Fi: Unlimited free Wi-Fi is available throughout the terminal, allowing passengers to stay connected. Dining Options: A variety of restaurants, cafes, and bars are available, offering both local and international cuisine. Shopping: Duty-free shops and retail outlets provide a range of products, including Italian fashion, electronics, and souvenirs. Assistance Services: The airport provides assistance for passengers with reduced mobility and other special needs. Lost & Found: A dedicated Lost & Found office is located in the arrivals hall to assist with misplaced items. Bus Services: The ATVO Express Bus offers a direct connection to Piazzale Roma in approximately 20 minutes. The ACTV Line 5 bus also connects the airport to Piazzale Roma, with a journey time of around 25 minutes. Both services operate frequently throughout the day. Water Transport: Alilaguna water buses provide scenic routes across the lagoon to various points in Venice, including San Marco and Lido. Tickets are available at the airport or online. Taxis: Taxis are available at the airport, offering a convenient but more expensive option for reaching the city center. Car Rentals: Several car rental agencies operate at the airport, providing flexibility for travelers wishing to explore the Veneto region. Security and Check-in: During peak travel times, it's advisable to arrive at least 2–3 hours before your flight departure to allow ample time for check-in and security procedures. Currency Exchange: ATMs are available at the airport, but be aware of potential fees. Currency exchange services are also offered, though rates may vary.

Venice Marco Polo Airport is an experience like no other place I've ever been. We arrived by private boat taxi. From the dock area, you take the elevator to the 1st floor and proceed to the terminal. It's a very beautiful airport, but I can't remember the last time we were shuttled to the plane by bus.

Treviso Airport

International airport
Airport
Treviso Airport is a small but well-connected airport in Venice, serving domestic and European flights. It offers convenient bus and train links to Treviso and Venice train station. The surrounding area boasts stunning panoramic views, with the city of Asolo known as the "city of 100 horizons." The airport provides easy navigation and a pleasant Duty Free area, although some areas like passport control and non-Schengen gates may be crowded at times.
Arrival to Trevisio airport can be via ATVO airport busses starting from Piazzale Roma and Meatre on the way as intermediate stop. Took nearly an hour. The airport counters are on first floor. Often with queues for dropping the luggage. The security was ok. The airport was small and feel little crowded. The luggage handlers were awesome and treat bags with dignity. There is a free water fountain near the boarding gates. The access to flights was via walk. Overall recommend as alternate to Marco Polo airport.

1 out of 5 — If I could give zero stars, I would This airport is extremely overcrowded — to the point where you’re constantly bumping into people. It feels more like a packed subway station than an international airport. There are fewer than 20 seats at the gate, which is ridiculous considering a single flight has over 100 passengers. People were standing, sitting on the floor, or just pacing while waiting to board. While the place isn’t outright dirty, it’s very outdated. Everything from the floors to the lighting looks like it hasn’t been renovated in decades. Overall, it was an unpleasant experience from start to finish. I would not recommend this airport to anyone unless absolutely necessary. If you have other travel options, take them.

I had a first flight in the morning. I noticed that one of the airline staff was late. There were no queue numbers at the departure gates that make everyonre confuse for the designated direction. The check-in staff were unfriendly and did not give clear instructions, so I had to repeat the queue three times. When I asked why I had to repeat the queue, he just said “Take this tray” without explaining what was wrong or what I should do. I was very disappointed with the service at this airport.

Very small airport for the traffic of people than it stands. Extremely crowded from the beginning, very long queues to pass security checkpoints (there are only two), it took more than 45 minutes. Outrageous lack of seats, huge amount of people having to stand or seat on the floor (if you are lucky). All the flights delayed! Only one toilet in all the departure area… One of the worst airports I have ever been!!…and I travel a lot! Definitely, if you have any other choice, do not use this airport. Probably it will ruin your memories from your trip to Venezia!

Cosy and peaceful, the Person at the café are super intimate .Although there isn’t a smoking area, so if you’re a smoker, make sure to have your 6 (or even a whole pack) before checking in , otherwise, you’ll have to go all the way back through security again! If you get stuck here at night, you’re basically fried (iykwim)! — they close the airport during night time, and you’ll be left wondering why on earth you went for the cheapest flight in the first place to end up here.

It's a good airport, just too crowded. The only con is a weird cleaning wc woman who screamed at me in Italian 🤦

Not great. Small, cramped and lacking in seating in almost all areas of the airport. Security and passport control was easy enough, but with an average of two to three flights an hour the seating in the main departure area plus cafes, shops & bar simply don't cut it. It's not great and could be so much better. It needs to be better. The lack of seating and services is only compounded when travelling with Ryanair. Not only was our flight delayed on our flight out to Treviso (yes delayed by 6 hours, so avoid them at all costs, so much so that at 2230 HRS our flight was diverted 15 or so miles away to Marco Polo airport) but it was delayed by almost two hours on our return from Treviso airport too. In fact the delays combined with our outbound flight being re-routed to MP resulted in us losing our hire car booking and over £400 in the process. As mentioned our return our flight, again with Ryanair (who we will never use again), was delayed by nearly two hours. So we spent an uncomfortable couple of hours at Treviso airport waiting for our flight. As for Ryanair, I'm not sure that they take responsibility for anything. After a total of nearly 8 hours delay over two flights, all they did was blame the French ATC strikes (other flights were taking off on time and were flying to/from Italy), despite both planes arriving late in the first place, one not even being on an ATC strike day, and on our first flight the original pilot leaving our plane after a four hour delay at Luton to go and pilot a flight out of Heathrow instead; that wasn't an ATC issue???? I guess this is what happens when you over commit your organisation....and to make it worse you get emails from Ryanair explaining your rights and inviting you to make a complaint, plus their app flashes up how you can help them by petitioning the government on ATC shortages?!?! No thank you Ryanair. So it wasn't enjoyable. Something that is so easy, or at least should be, is made so difficult by a lack of space, investment and services that do nothing to enhance your holiday and travel experience. Would we use Treviso airport again? I don't know that we would. It seems that smaller regional airports feature very low on the pecking order of Air Traffic Control (ATC) so delays appear far more prevalent at smaller regional airports than they do at larger, city based airports. Oh one other thing, don't use Drivalia at Treviso airport. Their service, well no service at all really, is aimed at taking your money and leaving you to walk!!! They were terrible. Europcar however we're helpful and very friendly, if a little expensive. Level 10 Google reviewer with over 1,200 reviews with 2 million views plus 14,000 photos with more than 60 million views and still going strong 💪. My reviews aren't sponsored, they're based on mine, and often my wife's experience at an establishment whether that be a shop, restaurant, service or activity, with the aim of highlighting great service plus areas for improvement, if necessary. And boy sometimes it is necessary. Check out my other reviews 🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟

Come max 1 hour before the flight, nothing to do there. Small and no enough seats. Be noticed because it is airport only for low cost airlines Ryanair and Wizz, before the scanning of the boarding pass and the security 2 ladies stand and check one by one, and try to do whatever they can in order to take your money for paying extra for baggage, so be ready for it. They will not even let you carry a small bag with food for children and caliming it is additinal bag. Probably they are hired by both airlines for this reason, becaue their duty it is to be super strict with the passangers. Be carefull :)
