Nitra Castle

Mentioned on
13 lists
Castle
Sights & Landmarks
Nitra Castle, an imposing 11th-century fortress situated on a limestone rock surrounded by the Nitra River, is a significant cultural heritage site. The castle, along with the Upper Town, forms a Town Conservation Reserve and boasts hilltop views and a cathedral at its core. This historic precinct defended the city in ancient times and features 16th-century ramparts and bastions.
The surroundings are beautifully maintained, and the views from the castle are offering a panoramic glimpse of the city and beyond. The church frescoes were truly fabulous, showcasing intricate details and a rich sense of history. Whether you’re a history enthusiast or just someone looking for a peaceful and picturesque spot, Nitra Castle offers an unforgettable experience.
Ondrej M — Google review
Long walk up a steep hill, historical and that's it. €1 gets you a photo opportunity of the entire city and a look in a quite lovely cathedral. All done in 30 minutes easy.
Anthony W — Google review
This looks like a castle, but it is more of a history of bishops and some very old artifacts! We loved the museum as there were items dating back to the 800's! I have never seen items this old before. We can't take pictures, so you need to visit if you like church history
Tena S — Google review
Stunning place full of history, beautiful views, very well maintained by. The museum is outstanding - remains of the first Slavic bishop activity.
A L — Google review
We just walked around the outside. Impressive wall. Parked at the free parking near the stadium. Very busy. Lovely park next door for a picnic. Free toilets!

Nitra Castle is a stunning place! Beautiful architecture, lots to see. Highly recommended!
Татьяна М — Google review
Nitra Castle is a lovely and peaceful place to visit. Set on a hill above the town, it offers beautiful views and a calm, relaxing atmosphere. The area around the castle is surprisingly green and well-maintained, making it perfect for a quiet walk or some time to unwind. The historic architecture adds a special charm, and it’s easy to feel the centuries of history in the air. It’s not overcrowded, which makes the visit even more enjoyable. Highly recommended for those looking for a peaceful and scenic spot in Nitra.

Synagogue

Mentioned on

Synagogue
Sights & Landmarks
The Nitra Synagogue, a Slovak cultural monument dating back to 1911, is a remarkable example of Art Nouveau architecture designed by Lipot Baumhorn. This synagogue stands as a symbol of the city's rich Jewish history and culture. While its exterior resembles grand synagogues in the former Habsburg Empire, the interior is more modest but still worth exploring. Recently restored, it features Moorish and Byzantine decorations.
Awesome interior with Hebrew written texts on the wall. Synagogue tour with 8 minute video presentation dealing with architecture, interior visualisations and current purpose of the synagogue. Possible to get upstairs to a section for jewish women, where is another exhibition.
Lukáš T — Google review
Not open at this time. Just looking outside.
Kent K — Google review
Beautiful place. It's a shame it's no longer a functioning synagogue. But various interesting events are held there. Highly recommended.
Татьяна М — Google review
The Nitra Synagogue is absolutely worth visiting. Open 1-6pm and some days 9-12. Just €1. I was so happy to see it especially seeing as the Bratislava Synagogue is gone.

Great place for facebook style photos

Should be open but it is not. Disappointing.

Zobor

Mentioned on
8 lists
Mountain peak
Zobor Mountain is a popular destination for outdoor enthusiasts, offering opportunities for hiking, biking, and photography. The summit features transmission towers and provides stunning panoramic views of Nitra and its surroundings. Visitors can enjoy pleasant walks in the landscape park and explore the instructive path Zobor. The area also includes a viticultural part with inviting taverns where travelers can sample local wine.
From small parking place located on Podhajska and Bukova streets in Nitra, you hike uphill following blue or red tourist marking. Red is bit longer but wider, blue is stepper and more challenging . Good shoes, snack, water and rain coat if any surprise comes from weather. You can include in your itinerary to climb via ferrata Zobor but you need to have ferrata kit (possible to rent in ARTin pension near by). Great view on the top (500m+ above see level), 45min hike for normal pace
Ma ( — Google review
Decent hike, followed the red trail for the easier option but was still fairly challenging. My friend wore normal adidas trainers however I would recommend something more sturdy. Amazing views from the top of all of Nitra
Andy H — Google review
Great hike to get to the top - some parts are more challanging then the others, but you can find plenty of benches where you can stop to have some rest or even a picnic along the way. You will have amazing views from the top, I’d say it’s definitely worth it.
Barbi S — Google review
Not long neither difficult climb through oak forest will take you to the top of the hill "Zobor" above city of Nitra. Beautiful views in every direction. From the top you can do hikes according to your fitness. When weather is favorable there is plenty of tourists everywhere.
Peter S — Google review
Great trip. Beautiful view, overlooking on the Nitra. Various paths difficultly. We chose red to get to the top and black to walk down. It was ok for 5 year old to make it on her own feet.
Sylwia K — Google review

Specialty Museums
The Slovak Agricultural Museum, located in Nitra, is a fascinating destination for those interested in the agricultural history and rural traditions of Slovakia. The museum boasts indoor galleries showcasing prehistoric farming roots, agricultural motifs in Slovak art, and traditional handicrafts. Visitors can explore a wide array of farming equipment and machinery, including vintage threshers, seeders, tractors, harvesters, and even an aircraft used for crop-dusting.
Super muzeum! Tie stroje su super.
Ján Š — Google review
(Translated by Google) We visited it here during the exhibition Agrokomplex 2022. The museum area is spacious and breathes history. There is an open-air museum, steam agricultural machines, and probably the main draw is the field railway. I just wish that it would be improved and maintained here for the next generations and that everything would not be looked at only through money. Nitra deserves it (Original) Navštívili sme to tu počas výstavy Agrokomplex 2022. Areál múzea je priestranný a dýcha históriou. Je tu skanzen, parné poľnohospodárske stroje, no a asi hlavný ťahák poľná železnička. Len si prajem aby sa to tu zveľaďovalo a udržiavalo aj pre ďalšie generácie a nehľadelo sa na všetko len cez peniaze. Nitra si to zaslúži

(Translated by Google) I rate it negatively because of the opening hours. I think that museums, monuments, and galleries should be open mainly on weekends, and be more accessible to the general public. This is a living example of management not being able to adapt to demand, this is not how tourism is done. The area itself is spread over a large area, there is peace and a pleasant atmosphere. The open-air museum would need an investment (Original) Hodnotím negatívne kvôli otváracej dobe. Skanzen by potreboval už investíciu

(Translated by Google) We visited SPM during the Agrokomplex exhibition. The two-hour guided tour of historical buildings and technical areas was great. The lovely lady guide knew a lot about history. Both about the buildings and the technical side of the machines. I recommend taking it. The tours were held twice a day during the Agrokomplex.

Nitra Gallery is a cultural gem located in the heart of the city, showcasing a diverse collection of contemporary art including paintings, sculptures, and installations. The gallery offers three exhibition spaces and a stunning concert hall where classical music concerts are held. Despite its small size compared to the building, it hosts various interesting and diverse exhibitions throughout the year. Additionally, visitors can enjoy workshops, lectures, and discussions at this beautiful local art gallery and museum in Nitra's Lower Town.
Beautiful place❣️
Bianka V — Google review
The gallery is great, however the gallery is small compared to the size of the building. Every exhibition is somewhere else, where the personal have to take you and open it. It is really not wheelchair friendly, prepare for quite a stairs and unfortunately no English (or it was just our luck :).

(Translated by Google) One of the best places for serious culture in Nitra. They have 3 spaces for exhibitions, and a beautiful concert hall, where concerts of mainly serious music are held. Exhibitions are often interesting and diverse. And if I compare it with other galleries, it will match! And of course there are various workshops, lectures, talks. Don't hesitate and come here ;) (Original) Jedno z najlepších miest na serióznu kultúru v Nitre. Maju 3 priestory na výstavy, a krásnu koncertnú sálu, kde sa konajú koncertu prevažne vážnej hudby. (Translated by Google) Very nice premises, when I was there the exhibitions were brutal, especially the 60th anniversary exhibition... considering how much the building affected me, I would have welcomed more exhibitions, there were only about 3-4. I don't know what kind of collection the Nitra gallery owns, but if there was a permanent exhibition of Slovak modern art there, that would be pretty cool... I also particularly liked the fact that my aunt (who was very nice) had to open the individual exhibitions for me separately, otherwise I recommend it to all nine (Original) Velmi pekne priestory, v case ked som tam bol tak boli brutaalne vystavy, najma vystava k 60. vyrociu… na to ako velko na mna ta budova posobila by som ale uvital viac vystav, boli tam asi iba 3-4. Neviem teda aku zbierku nitrianska galeria ma vo svojom vlastnictve, ale keby tam bola stala expozicia slovenskej moderny, to by bolo dost cool…zvlastne mi taktiez prislo, ze jednotlive vystavy mi musela teta (ktora bola velmi mila) samostatne otvarat, inac fakt ze odporucam vsetkymi deviatimi

Perfect! I will come again on the next dog show 🤗

Update: September 2022 - some bits have been upgraded, kids loved the animals in the August Agrokomplex exhibition. It’s a great place for exhibitions, family place with kids etc. But it need re-furbishment as it’s fairly old - esp the ABC pavilion. Went there for a dog exhibition & it was lovely. Nice day out.

Exhibition center in the city of nitra with a traditional touch from the time when it was planned and constructed in the golden era of communism. Easy parking, toilets a number of halls, toilets, slovak refresment booths and pernament garden.
Peter M — Google review
A "must see" when you are in Nitra and there is currently an exhibition. Great area with lake and narrow gauge railway inside.

Great trade show 👍
Jan H — Google review
The facilities were fine. My problem was with buying tickets online. I bought a 4 day ticket for the YGAMES event/autoshow online for 19€. The first day I went, the machine would not accept the QR code on the ticket I was emailed. Luckily, one of the workers saw my troubles and let me in. On the next day, I did not get the same treatment, and had to buy a day ticket for 8€. I was not able to explain the situation to someone as I dont speak Slovak and the workers didnt speak anything I speak. On the third day, I again had to buy another day ticket for 8€. The event itself was actually great, but WHY does the ticket website sell tickets that DONT WORK? I spent 19€ for something that should've lasted the whole weekend, but had to spend an additional 16€ because it never even worked to begin with.
Connor / — Google review
Not a very nice exhibition center. The parking is not automated (ramp, ticketing, licence plate camera, parking machine) but is very slow on gate B2 done by humans. Parking lot B2 has no lines so it is very ineffective. The exhibition halls are old with main electrical switch accessible for any random visitor.
Peter ( — Google review
There was a problem with the navigation in google maps initially, we then had to switch to waze in order to find the enterance. After we have arrived there was no problem with parking alongside the road. We were on a musical performance, all awesome.

(Translated by Google) Very nice theater and quality performance of the actors in the play "Testosterone", we had a good laugh 😂 There is only one thing to think about. During the 15-minute break, not all guests who waited in a long line for the buffet were served... Well, 5 minutes before the end of the break, the usher came with a big bell and chased us into the theater hall like sheep, which was downright disgusting 👎 We enjoyed the theater and that was important. No a 5 minút pred koncom prestávky chodila uvádzačka s veľkým zvoncom a zaháňala nás do divadelnej sály ako ovce, čo bolo priam protivné 👎 Divadlo sme si užili a to bolo podstatné.

The Botanical Garden SPU, situated in the heart of Nitra, is a vast green space divided into several sections, each with its own significance. It showcases thousands of plant species both indoors and outdoors. Located within the Slovak University of Agriculture's premises, it offers a diverse range of plants and activities for families and children. Visitors can enjoy the beautiful flowers and trees while taking a peaceful stroll or having a picnic. This hidden gem is free to visit but has specific opening hours.
Lovely garden to walk around, admire flowers, plants, reminders. They regularly do activities for families & children - we came for a Halloween. In summer there are many beautiful flowers & trees, lovely place to sit down & chill, maybe have a picnic. It’s a hidden gem, not many know about it. We love it. There’s no toilet ( except the bushes) but it’s totally child/buggy & wheel chair friendly. Recommended x

Zobor monastery

Mentioned on

Historical landmark
Nestled in the picturesque valley beneath Zobor Hill lies the historic Zobor Monastery, also known as the Benedictine monastery of St. Hippolytus. Established in the 9th century, around 880 AD, it stands as one of Slovakia's oldest monasteries and is a testament to rich history and spirituality. A short five-minute walk through a serene forest from nearby parking leads you to this tranquil site, perfect for those seeking both relaxation and reflection amidst nature.
TV Tower, Nice to walk, good exercise, unfortunately coffee shop was not open up to 10hrs.
Movva C — Google review
Amazing and quite well hidden history of the city. Most people bypass this place on their way up to the radio tower, but to truly undertand Nitra you need to visit the Zobor Monastery. It's a quick bus ride from the city center right opposite Tesco, and takes about 25 minutes to thelast stop "Zoborská Nemocnica", when you get off you back track a little down a slope and follow the signs. It's so rare for buildings like these to get another chance, since for decades this place had been in a catastrophic state. There are explanation boards all around the place, and no ticket stands! Be respectful when visiting it's still a church ❤️

(Translated by Google) Zoborský Monastery is located in the immediate vicinity of the health resort, which is relatively easy to access through the forest. There are navigation boards available that provide information about tourist attractions, routes and their total duration. The ruins of the Monastery itself offer very interesting architectural treasures, and you will also find a space reserved for mass, with the possibility of sitting on several benches. The place is ideal for every lover of history and clean, well-maintained nature that surrounds you on all sides. Information boards with photographs also bring interesting knowledge from the past, which every visitor will appreciate. The area also includes various games that can be tried for free, and a few meters away there is a children's sandbox. The place definitely caught my attention, it had a very pleasant and calming impression on me. If the weather is nice, I definitely recommend a trip to this unique place and I would be happy to return here in the near future. Access is not barrier-free and there are also problems with poor mobile signal quality. Which is understandable, given the area. Entry and movement within the entire area is free, and there is also a small information booth. Very nice environment, they also have a large outdoor seating area. They have very stylish slovak ceramic plates. Also a very good selection of slovak wines. Very good service. Lots of parking.

A really nice restaurant close to the highway. I’ve visited this place many times, and it keeps getting better every time. The food is delicious, and I highly recommend buying their bread – it’s truly exceptional! 👍👍👍

We had a family lunch just recently at Sýpka u Ludvika. The restaurant surpriced us positively a lot, by its spacious interior, accurate design without “floads of brands”, nice and professional staff, super service and of course…the meal! High quality ingredients, traditional taste and freshness by each bite. Best value for your money! Looking forward to the next opportunity to visit this place.

This place is simply amazing. Fresh ingredients, locally sourced - you simply can not beat that. The thing is, they are not trying to reinventing the wheel. They are cooking proper food of the region with huge Austro-Hungarian and Czech influences with a modern twist and finish. If you are in the area this is The place to have a lunch. If you are a foreigner who fancy a field trip out of Bratislava and has a car, don't hesitate and stop here for a meal. You won't regret it.

Boccaccio

$$$$affordable
Italian restaurant
The Grilled Chicken Breast at Boccaccio, served with a basil and sun-dried tomato sauce, is truly delicious. The Tuna Pizza, topped with onions, is decent but not outstanding. Some customers felt that the tables were cramped and gave a congested feeling, although the service provided was good. The restaurant boasts impressive interior heat lamps and offers complimentary drinks on several occasions. Despite its unassuming front entrance, it came highly recommended by locals.
Very cosy.. exceptional cooking strict to a tea to Italian standards.. staff was very friendly.. one of the most noteworthy things is that before you enter your nose gets pleasantly assaulted by the smell of food being cooked in the kitchen.. I cannot recommend this place enough.. prices are also fair and getting a menu with soup and a pizza for less than 9 euros in this economy is a steal..
Nikos N — Google review
A very good italian restaurant. Food was good quality, also very large portion sizes. Tiramisu was amazing. Would not recommend the tomato soup, sort of boring. Service was so so, they brought the mains while we were still eating the appetizers. Pick a table on the front of the restaurant, the patio is dark and cold.

This restaurant is a true gem. I can honestly say this is the best and most authentic Italian pizza I have had anywhere outside of Naples. The ingredients were incredibly fresh, the dough was perfect, and every bite was delicious. On top of the phenomenal food, the service was exceptional. The staff were incredibly friendly, welcoming, and attentive, making the entire experience even better. For the incredible quality you receive, the price is surprisingly reasonable. This is not just a meal, it's a perfect dining experience. I cannot recommend Boccaccio enough. A must-visit!

A piece of Italy in Nitra. Highly recommend visiting Boccaccio. Prices also very reasonable.

We enjoyed two really tasty pizzas, under some very impressive interior heat lamps. Several sets of free drinks too, just because! Not somewhere we’d have chosen from an unassuming front entrance – thank goodness we followed a local suggestion.

Unexpected gem in a town that a first seemed quite drab. We had arrived late after a long drive and entered an hour before closing. Still we were warmly welcomed. Some items on the menu were out of stock, acceptable at that hour, also telling that they use fresh ingredients.

Prawns were lovely. Really fresh ingredients - arugula with crunch! Bring on the second course Proper pizza - crunchy, wood fired with capers and anchovies. Definitely going to be a repeat customer.

Restaurant
Bearded Brothers is a casual dining spot located in Nitra, offering a comfortable and clean outdoor atmosphere with a low-cost garden. The restaurant features a playground for children by the river, making it family-friendly. Visitors can expect welcoming and friendly service with short waiting times for meals. The menu includes options like the BB Burger and Juicy Lucy, both praised for their delicious flavors.
Nice place, nice atmosphere. Good music. Outdoor area with a kids playground, perfect if you have kids & want some peace. Shady area nice on a hot day. Drinks - soft/alcoholic available. Food available. Toilets available, changing table too. Parking near by. Recommended

Well served delucious burgers. I gotta say one of the best I have ever eaten. Side as fries or onion ringsvery good, onion rings close to perfect. Many dip options as well as burgers to choose. Only down side, which is bummer - serving Pilsner beer only. One of the most well known Czech beers but definitelly not the best;) If more beer brands would be served it could be even better ;) ... the other thing is price which is basically same as in Stuttgart or Frankfurt ... In general - well done!

Burgers and fries were great, in terms of service, it took a little long time for waitress to come to our table to get the order.

We ended our trip to Nitra here at Bearded Brothers. A restaurant with a garden and a playground for children by the river. Great service and atmosphere! Waiting time for the food was pretty short (they served our meals within 30 minutes). I ordered Juicy Lucy with French Fries and Garlic-Bacon dip and Mango-Maracuja lemonade. The burger was super juicy and delicious, the buns were too soft for us. Both fries and dips were great too. The lemonade's taste was as strong as we hoped. But overall it was a nice experience and amazing food. Tho the prices were quite high, I recommend this place.

Nice cosy place next to the river. Good spare ribs with small bones and a lot of real meat without fat for only 3 euro. Also my company liked the burgers. Definetly worh going again! The Belgium wafels looked as well very tempting but i couldnt anymore.

Great restaurant in Nitra. We visited this spot couple times and they always provide very tasty food especially burgers 🍔🍟 and good service. This time when we came, waiter was little bit arrogant, but in the end we spent a very good time on restaurant terrace. It is possible pay in cash 💵 or card 💳 So if you’ll be around definitely check this restaurant
Rastislav M — Google review
Great place with good food and chill atmosphere. There is a playground for the children. A bit on the pricey side though. 1l of lemonade was 10€ and the BB burger + fries + sauce was 17€. However, you could get a smash burger for 9€ (no fries). So, still relatively affordable.

Wasabi

Sushi restaurant
Wasabi is a contemporary chain establishment that specializes in Japanese cuisine, offering an array of bento boxes, sushi, and hot dishes. This bright and modern restaurant caters to both Asian food enthusiasts and those who typically do not enjoy Japanese establishments due to the availability of fish-free options. The menu boasts a wide variety of choices; however, some may find it overwhelming. Despite this, the service is satisfactory, and the food quality is excellent.
This was one of the highlights of our five day road trip through Slovakia. We went for the menu of the day but, by the time we got there, half of the menu was gone! So we got what was left, and the "leftovers" were scrumptious. We had a superb miso soup. My wife chose a local mushroom and cream soup. The kids had creamy chicken penne pasta and the adults had some sushi rolls. Everything was great, including the price. The presentation was well done. I recommend. The waitresses were a bit overwhelmed with the amount of requests, so if you like food and the environment, make sure to thank them and tip them accordingly. They speak Slovak and English.
Márcio N — Google review
The food was delicious, but my overall experience was not positive. -It was not possible to pay by card (nearest ATM was 10min walking distance), -drinks from the menu card not available (neither radler, nor teas) -waiters not very kind

Stará Kotolňa Nitra

$$$$affordable
Restaurant
Stará Kotolňa Nitra has undergone a change in management and is now a welcoming place with three sections, including two bars and an outdoor area. The food is tasty, although service can be slow during busy times. While the toilets are decent, there's no baby changing area. The pub is partially wheelchair accessible and families are welcome, with a nearby playground for kids. It can get quite crowded but offers a nice atmosphere to enjoy some fabulous pizza.
Under the new management- it’s changed. Nice & welcoming, it has 3 parts to it, 2 bars & outdoors. Plus outdoors at the main entrance. Food was tasty, but as it was busy, it took a long time to come. Toilets are ok, no baby changing area. Part of the pub is wheel chair accessible. Families welcome. There’s a playground near by. They do get very busy, but it’s a nice place to visit. Fab pizza!!

Absolutely amazed by the place. Food: Bean soup - top class. I was enjoying every spoonful. Viener schnitzel - size of a plate, tender, not oily. Amazing. Spare ribs. Tender, juicy, with a balanced sauce, not drowned in it, with a nice crisp on the edges. Top 6 ribs Personnel pleasant, active attentive! Definitely became my number 1 in Nitra.

The food was lovely but the rest of the experience was anything but. The place was clearly very busy, which is fine, but we received our food about an hour and 45 minutes after entering, and about an hour and a half after ordering. Either the place doesn’t have the capacity to cope with being so full, or there was some extenuating circumstance, or our waiter messed up the order, but regardless it was distinctly unappreciated. A waitress came to talk to us and we asked her about things and she went to get someone else, another waiter. We spoke to that waiter and complained. we then saw that someone else talking very angrily to the initial waitress - despite the entire situation being entirely out of her control. It’s a real shame because the food was lovely and the place seemed very nice, and our waiter was initially lovely, but overall the experience was just wholly unsatisfying.
Flatthew — Google review
The place has a good atmosphere. The food was well done, and we got the plate for two (me and two other man weren't able to eat it) in 15-20 min. They had a good vegan burger as well. The beer selection is good as well even if you coming from Czech Republic. Overall experience was great.

We wanted to have lunch in this very nice and cozy place from the outside, but someone was always smoking at the entrance, so we couldn't go inside. Good is great, prices are normal. Not very expensive not very cheap. What is frustrating is the bad service, they don't seem to care, during summer they don't use any mosquito repelanants to sit outside, you can see spiders and spiderwebs and other alike crawling on the wooden structure.. it's really a shame. I'd have this place on top condition to attract foreigners and not only locals.

We had just pizza and cake on the end, all done well, no complain at all. Pizza with crispy garlic edge, that's what i like.Only issue experienced is the price, for Slovakia more than u would expect. (Translated by Google) Excellent chicken broth with a lot of meat, pizza cooked perfectly and without garlic aroma, seafood salad was great and finally the sweet spot in the form of the best tiramisu we have ever eaten with sour cherries and amaretto liqueur. The service was pleasant, fast and extremely helpful, they also introduced us to the hall for wedding receptions, which is beautiful, and the interior of the restaurant is equally luxuriously decorated. The restaurant is located in tastefully arranged greenery, which gives sitting on the terrace a romantic and peaceful dimension. We would love to come back here again! --- We were here again, this time I didn't like it so much... The broth was great as always, as was the dessert (fantastic lava cake as well as tiramisu with amaretto, which we already had last time). Other dishes (seafood salad, tuna, pasta, steak, baby doll) average. (Original) Vynikajúci slepačí vývar s kopou mäsa, pizza prepečená úplne presne a bez cesnakovej arómy, šalát s morskými plodmi bol skvelý a nakoniec sladká bodka v podobe najlepšieho tiramisu, aké sme kedy jedli s višňami a amarettovým likérom. I read the reviews before visiting the restaurant and was looking forward to a nice Japanese meal. Unfortunately , neither the meal nor the service was any good. The service was so very poor. I came in and there were only 2 people there. Asked for a table and was pointed to one. The waitress ( who never smiled ) gave the menu and walked away. When she came to take the order ( again no smile ), I asked her about one of the items on the menu, I.e portion size ( as I was in a another restaurant the previous day and the portions were very generous ). She said small ( in English ). Anyways I ordered the chicken udon , which was sweet and definitely in my worst udon ever eaten list. She cleared my plate , again no smile or even a pleasant expression . No one bothered to ask if I wanted a desert or coffee or at least bring the menu for desert . At this time , I was the only person in the front portion of the restaurant . After a while I went up to the counter to pay - and was asked ‘card’? I then told her that it was very bad service and she said ‘no English’! I have travelled the world without knowing the local language and have managed with a smile or a nod or some sign language. So for a waitress to say no English and be sullen the whole time is just screaming racism or just bad bad service . I was having a pleasant experience in Slovakia until I encountered this place . Please avoid especially if you are a foreigner. If I could post 0 stars, I would have

I would not recommend eating pizza here. Dough is not fermented and thin as a sheet of paper, borders are thin as well. All the topping is at the center of the pizza so you have to use the fork with a dull knife. Change your pizzayolo, guys. Bad pizza experience for 10 euros. M. R. Štefánik Airport Bratislava

International airport
Airport
M. R. Štefánik Airport Bratislava is the country's busiest airport, offering international services including those from budget airlines. Located just 9 km from the city center, it boasts modern transport infrastructure and a customer-oriented environment for passengers. Travel to the city center is convenient with a 20-minute drive or a bus ride to Hlavna stanica (the main train station) followed by a 15-minute walk.
Small airport....can be fast to get through security if at quieter times...but could be slow if you are delayed in traffic, due to the limited security. The duty free is very expensive compared to larger international airports

I have never seen so stupid organization at airport before. There are plenty of seats available, but there is no one to open them for the people. Meanwhile a handicapped man did dot have a seat to use!!! I have spoken with the people from the airport shop, but they said this is normal and the additional area is open to passengers right before flight! So stupid - why they have places which cannot be used?

Good and quick taxi ride from the city. The airport is very small but efficient. Security normally super smooth with new scanners — no need to take out liquids or electronics. A couple of bars/coffee places and some duty-free shops inside. There’s also a smoking area after passport control if you’re flying outside the Schengen area. Small play area for kids there too and news kiosk. Nice and easy overall.

It's small but it's good. A few years ago there was a big reconstruction and it helped a lot. Without that is the biggest airport in Slovakia just a sad place. Fortunately, now it looks decent according to the amount of daily departures or arrivals. So be humble and don't compare it with the airport of Doha 😁
