Lichtentaler Allee

Park
Lichtentaler Allee is a picturesque park promenade located along the Oosbach River in Baden-Baden. Lined with vibrant rhododendrons, azaleas, roses, and ornamental trees, it has been a central hub of activity for centuries. The neoclassical Kurhaus at the north end of the promenade has been a social hotspot since the 18th century and now houses Baden-Baden's casino.
Lichtentaler Allee Park in Baden-Baden is an absolute gem! The vibrant flowers, majestic trees, and peaceful paths create a serene atmosphere perfect for strolling and unwinding. Impeccably maintained, the park offers stunning views and a charming blend of nature and history. It’s a must-visit destination for anyone seeking beauty and tranquility in Baden-Baden. We thoroughly enjoyed our time here and can’t wait to return!

A beautiful park that provides shade even at high noon. Linden trees provide shade and a beautiful scent as you walk. Your senses come alive as you walk. You can hear birds chirping, the water in the brook that runs alongside, parallel to the paths, geese honking and rustling leaves as a slight breeze runs through them. You can feel a breeze and the smell of the linden trees. You see hotels, mansions, restaurants, a museum, and a park within a park, which you can access by walking across the bridges. It is beautiful.
Dina B — Google review
This is a beautiful open park with lots of paths to follow both for walkers...joggers and cyclists. It follows the river directly into Baden Baden centre. A really peaceful open space to while away some time.. There are plenty of play areas for children....tennis courts...and easily accessible toilets at various points along the route..
John D — Google review
We had a stopover in this beautiful town and visited the Allee in autumn. The colors were serene and breathtaking. We enjoyed a lovely afternoon stroll and thoroughly loved the experience

Gorgeous! So much to see along the river walk. It's a must in Baden-Baden ❤️
Rachel C — Google review
Designed as an extension of the Kurpark, this historic park and tree-lined promenade was created in 19th century during the town’s spa boom. Plenty of historic villas around, very cool walk even in rainy weather.
Mike Z — Google review
Stunning gardens and parks following the river’s flow. A perfect place to relax and enjoy during the day
Lila M — Google review
An absolutely beautiful, serene stretch of park along the Oos river! This is a must experience while in Baden-Baden. This tranquil part is so relaxing, calming and enjoyable, probably on any day but especially on a sunny warm weather afternoon. You should plan at least a couple of hours, walking the whole stretch or parts of it with so many spots to sit and take breaks. Hopefully these pictures do some justice to the beauty of the place!

Museum Frieder Burda, located in the Lichtentaler Allee Park, is a modern art museum designed by architect Richard Meier. The museum's collection of about 1,000 paintings, sculptures, photographs, and works on paper focuses on Classical Modernism and contemporary art. It was established in 1998 to preserve and make accessible the personal collection of Frieder Burda.
I got to witness the Yoshitomo Nara exhibition in first person. It was a magnificent experience. I really liked the art's arrangements within the gallery and there was a lot of space to just be and take in the art. Also there was music playing, matching the artist's inspiration, and that was really great along the side. The staff was also really nice, I don't usually talk much to personnel, but here I felt very welcome. Will be back very, very soon.
Anastasia K — Google review
Went for the Yoshitomo Nara exhibition. A very nice building and great space right in the middle of town. The shop wasn’t great though, they should definitely needs to drop all the interior decoration crap.
Sam C — Google review
Great exhibition of German Impressionism with Liebermann in main focus. We enjoyed it very much, even though usually we are drawn more to abstract, surrealist and post-impressionistic pieces
Greg L — Google review
The museum is immersed in nature and it has been an amazing setting to discover the work of Nicolas Party, which is pretty much rooted in nature. The synergy with his natural landscapes and the contrast with the apocalypse and the decay of things that is a focal point of the artist has been quite magnificent. I did feel that the exhibition is rather small and restricted for the price of the ticket - although admittedly Nicolas Party created a lot of murals specifically for this museum, and I didn’t love the museum shop. I wish there were items on sale that matched the exhibition and the modern spirit of it, there were classic things on sale that you could find in any store out of this museum. I didn’t have coins with me and I couldn’t leave my jacket in the garderobe for 1 euro. I wish in the future this kind of details will be modernized. All in all a pleasant Sunday experience and I would recommend visiting if you have the chance.
Nina T — Google review
Super nice museum and also very kind staff I highly recommend going here!!♡
Kalemi — Google review
The Pousette exhibition didn’t resonate with me. Feels like a market driven exhibition. The museum building’s design appears to be aging quickly and does not embody a timeless character.
Stephane K — Google review
Great contemporary art museum. At the time of my visit you could reserve a spot to be taken a portait by a robot arm. There were also audioguides available for 5 eur. There is not much information, and we did not take them but they could be worth it. We went with the Museumspass.
Cristina — Google review
Nice looking museum in beautiful town of Baden-baden. Was nice to have visited, but the work they had on display at that moment wasn’t as cheerful and easy to appreciate as some of the more pop art like work you see on the Google review photos. Still had a nice time there.

Caracalla Spa

Thermal baths
Health spa
Caracalla Spa is a thermal bathhouse nestled in a forested setting, offering a range of indoor and outdoor bathing experiences. The spa features a beautiful indoor pool connected to an outdoor pool, hot tubs, and various saunas including wet baths and dry saunas with varying temperatures. With its playful yet relaxing atmosphere, the spa resembles an adults-only waterpark.
Very nice experience at the Spa. We went 2 hours in the evening. We took tickets only for Spa area and was very relaxing, the pool are clean and the water was very good temperature. Also nice wet sauna inside the spa.
Andreea D — Google review
The spa has a beautiful setting with both indoor and outdoor pools that look great. Unfortunately, that’s where the positives end for me. The hygiene throughout the spa is really poor. The bathrooms in the spa area smell strongly of urine and feel damp and neglected. The whole place is way too moist, including the locker rooms, where I also noticed rubbish on the floor and human hairs everywhere. It gave a very unclean impression and made it hard to relax. The solarium beds are dirty and clearly not taken care of. For a wellness facility, regular and thorough cleaning should be a priority—but here, it clearly isn’t. The sauna area is also outdated. While the wooden chalets outside look nice, everything inside feels old and run-down. Overall, the spa looks good at first glance, but once you actually use the facilities, it’s clear that cleanliness and maintenance are being ignored. This needs urgent attention.
Gabrielė K — Google review
Spent a good 2 hours enjoying the thermal waters. Ticket for 2 hours to visit the pools and use the naturist sauna upstairs is 25 euros plus a 6 euro fee gorvtowel hire. But caution keep an eye on your towel as it's 21 euros if you lose it! In the sauna area upstairs it is a no textile area and you are obliged to sit on your towels in the saunas. There are lots of choices based on temperatures and there is a cafe. Downstairs the pools are huge and extend outside so you can swim and bathe in the sun. This area is textile so you need a costume. It is very clean and there are lots of changing areas ...showers and lockers for valuables. You get a waterproof fob that does everything including charging for food and drinks...opening lockers ...gaining access to the sauna area etc. Very well run...A must if you are visiting Baden Baden.

As a lover of Japanese style hot baths, the rather tepid baths didn’t do it for me. Also the scale and theme park atmosphere was missable. So suffice to just walk through the first floor and experience the various baths especially the outdoor one with the strong current and lazy river. The second floor (no clothes) was much better as the saunas were actually hot! There are a variety of them and the most impressive is the steam room (great spa) with a sun drenched view of the outdoor bath downstairs. There are also outdoor saunas which are charming especially in cooler weather. Here you really get to sweat out toxins and the spaces are smaller and with fewer people so that you can relax. The cold plunge pools dotted around are amazing for circulation, and the foot baths to regulate temperature were a thoughtful healthy touch. I wish I skipped through downstairs more quickly to spend my time here! The changing rooms were well designed for maximum efficiency - you enter from the outside into a changing room, disrobe and the locker is on the other side. Vice versa when you leave. Everything is streamlined and neat. With the mass of human traffic I think the spa staff do their best to keep things clean but it’s not going to be 100%. Don’t bring too much - swimsuit (a must for baths) and rubber nonskid slippers if u need footwear (optional I think). Also a towel or two for the sauna - if u like to put something over u or under your head. Bathrobe if u intend to hangout in the comfy chairs for a while. Important tip - the GPS location fails if coming by car, please put in GPS the address for the parking garage : Rotenbachtalstraße 1, 76530. Did not realise the spa validated parking, so please remember to do so.

Second floor of Sauna is amazing, specially the one of 95 degrees. By the way, the front desk is very kind and nice
4Life L — Google review
I spent three hours here with my boyfriend, and the time flew by! We were amazed by everything — the water is wonderful, and there are pools with different water temperatures. Lockers, dryers, showers — everything you need is here. Definitely worth a visit!
Lila M — Google review
Overcrowded. Very loud and echoing karaoke performances in the main room. Loud shouting and roughhousing in the outdoor pool. No info given at the entrance on the first visit (towel info would’ve been useful along with nudity at the upstairs sauna), had to queue for hot tub, unfriendly staff, had to queue for lounge chair, crowded sauna. I left stressed out and annoyed. Terrible standard of hospitality. If you’re American, think YMCA —but not fun.

Historic Sites
Trinkhalle is a 19th-century drinking hall located in Baden-Baden, offering visitors the chance to taste fresh water from Friedrichsquelle. The neoclassical building features Corinthian columns and mythologically-themed murals, creating a chic and elegant atmosphere. Once a gathering place for elites seeking the healing properties of the thermal waters, Trinkhalle now houses the town's Tourism Office. Visitors can still enjoy fountains with reputedly healing waters nearby.
I think it would be strange to come to Baden-Baden and not visit this complementary architectural style building. Trinkhalle means (pump house) is located in the Kurhaus spa complex as the main building of the spa. The 90-metre-long corridors are lined with frescoes and benches. Very nice experience indeed.
Mohammad — Google review
Nice historical building in green with free entrance, providing a cooling place in midsummer.
Yiming S — Google review
One of the most iconic landmarks of Baden-Baden, Pump Room, served as mineral spring house for thermal waters. Constructed in 19th century to house healing springs, it had replaced old wooden structure (place was known for its springs from Roman times). The warning at the house is advising against drinking the water since it contains unsafe levels of arsenic. Beautiful building and garden around it, probably most memorable impression from town’s visit.
Mike Z — Google review
This is a gorgeous historical site that has been turned into a museum or event venue. There’s a display inside about famous spa towns of the world (I took a photo of the list for future reference). The experience is to walk along the outside passage to see the splendid art for the protection of this watershed (in renaissance style). No charge to enter. Worth the stroll.

Trinkhalle, Baden-Baden: A Charming and Historic Must-Visit! The Trinkhalle in Baden-Baden is an absolutely charming and historically rich spot that truly deserves a five-star review. It's not just a building; it's a journey back in time and a delightful part of the Baden-Baden experience. The stunning architecture with its elegant columns and beautiful frescoes is captivating. It’s clear that every detail was carefully crafted, making it a joy to admire from both the outside and within. Strolling along the promenade in front of it, especially on a sunny day, is incredibly pleasant. Of course, the main attraction is the opportunity to taste the famous thermal water. It's a unique and traditional experience that connects you directly to the town's spa heritage. While the taste might be an acquired one for some, the act itself is part of the charm and history. The surrounding gardens and the general ambiance contribute significantly to its appeal. It's a peaceful place to relax, people-watch, and simply soak in the refined atmosphere of Baden-Baden. The Trinkhalle serves as a beautiful gateway to the Lichtentaler Allee and is a perfect starting point for exploring the town. It's a definite must-see for anyone visiting Baden-Baden, offering both historical significance and a lovely setting. Highly recommended!
Alex T — Google review
A standout building in Baden-Baden that is a must see if you are in town.
Toxteth G — Google review
Wish I had more time but this place is amazing. The stonework is kept clean and restored. Lots of flash cards to talk about the history of the area. Park on the property is beautiful at night. The only downside is there is a massive casino nearby that makes the theme and atmosphere a little less special

Friedrichsbad Baden-Baden

Wellness center
Friedrichsbad Baden-Baden is a classic bathhouse housed in an elegant 19th-century building, offering a rejuvenating experience with its thermal pools and massage services. The thermal baths are fed by water that rises nearly 2 kilometers underground, reaching temperatures between 50 and 68 degrees and carrying beneficial minerals such as lithium, magnesium, and zinc.
I took the train from Frankfurt for a weekend in the Black Forest. This was the PERFECT way to relax my sore muscles after hiking. I had never been to a thermal bath spa before. This was absolutely lovely. I will definitely come back again!
Kaleigh M — Google review
As others have noted, the entry fee is too expensive. However, the overall experience is memorable, with many different rooms, including a steam room heated naturally. The reading room at the end is very relaxing and we enjoyed drinking tea and dozing in there. The spa definitely could do with a bit of renovation. It looks tired compared to the rest of Baden Baden town centre. I would nonetheless recommend a visit - just try to forget about the price!
David — Google review
The highlight activity of our 6 day stay in Germany. Each room we passed through was a novelty but the interiors hark back to times gone by. We loved the bubble baths and the heated rooms but couldn't muster up the courage for the cold bath at the end! Finished off with hot herbal tea in the reading room. Slippers, towel (at the end), sheets, free locker and hairdryers all provided. Great experience!!
Yasmin S — Google review
This place is amazing... I spent three hours in a world of tranquillity. The facilities are fabulous, you can relax, steam, sweat, soak and swim, you lose all track of time. Once inside the building the architecture and design is outstanding. Really helpful staff, everything was explained clearly and how you follow a route around the different areas. This was my first visit to Friedrichsbad, I had previously been to the large spa next-door, but this place was amazing. I would recommend you embrace the nudity and enjoy it how the Romans used to bathe. This is now a must visit place when I am in Baden-Baden.
Nick C — Google review
We went on a Thursday around noon, and it was not crowded. I was checking some older bad reviews and was a bit hesitating. It turns out the worries were not necessary. We were super shy as that was our first time trying mixed-gender thermal spas. The staff was friendly and patiently explained the steps, and she told us to just relax ourselves and enjoy. The building itself was historic, so I am fine with some peeled-off tiles or only a few not functional faucets. I was a bit disappointed that the massage treatment was not available during the time we went. The atmosphere was really calm and soothing, and my skin became very smooth after!!
Muse W — Google review
This spa is excellent. The history behind it, its age is so fascinating. The staff exceptionally helpful. I would recommend it highly to anybody who is considering a visit. Ignore negative reviews in my opinion, and the opinion of my friends who were with me.
Debbie M — Google review
The thermal bath was a good experience though we did not get the luxury feeling there. The building is beautiful on the outside but could be maintained better on the inside. There were broken tiles and stuff which we noticed. Out of 17 steps, 4 are showers, 1 was unavailable, 4 were pools with different temperatures out of which we used only 2 as the others were too cold, 2 were steam rooms with different temperatures, 2 were air baths with different temperatures, the others were drying room, cream application room, relaxation room (best) and reading room! Except at the reception, there is no one inside to guide you but the suggestions on the notice boards in every room were quite helpful. The reception guy was very smiley and helpful. Recommendations of minimum time that you should spend are written on the boards and there are clocks in almost every room so you can time yourself. We bravely visited on a mixed-gender day as this was our first time. We almost fell asleep in the relaxation room. The place is clean but could be better maintained for the luxury feel. More details on Blogaberry. Com if you'd like to know more...
CINDY D — Google review
Unfortunately didn't meet expectations, maybe because it's not as nice comparing to other thermal baths I've been to. Description on the web site is not really accurate. They don't give any shower gel or shampoo. At the first stage where you have 3 showers with 2 soap dispensers you barely have any soap and this is your first impression. Sleepers they do give but I'm not sure how hygienic it is to use them, look quite old. And also people tend to take someone else's sleepers, the same happened my towel, so better to keep them close by. One pool had sharp bits at the bottom, be careful (I think stage 11). And I'm sorry but I saw a roach in the main pool (stage with swimming pool under big dome). Overall experience is nice and very relaxing (until you see a roach), rest rooms are good at the end, you feel relaxed and skin feels nice (though whole thing about body lotion, you just put cream from the dispenser in a small room). Building is beautiful but facilities are getting old and probably not very well maintained, next time I'll choose something modern.

Faberge Museum

Specialty Museums
The Faberge Museum, established in 2009, is a unique tribute to the renowned Russian jeweler Carl Peter Faberge. It houses an extensive collection of over 700 pieces, showcasing the full range of his craftsmanship from imperial Easter eggs for the Tsars family to exquisite jewelry and everyday items from the early 20th century. Notable highlights include the Rothschild Faberge Egg and the rare rabbit-shaped decanter.
Fabergé Museum has an impressive collection and truly outstanding staff. The knowledgeable guides are passionate experts who can provide fascinating, in-depth insights about every single piece in the collection. Even more remarkably, the Gold Room showcases an extraordinary collection of pre-Columbian artifacts from the Inca and Aztec civilizations, which was a wonderful surprise.
Alexey S — Google review
Outstanding nice collection for those familiar with Fabergé and history. In context of the ticketprice is reasonable too. One⭐ less due to the lack of information. Its too little, somewhat unstructered and often only in Russian.
P H — Google review
Local lovely museum showing the detailed designs for the rich and famous from the Faberge collection and lab. Great history and amazing products. Worth a check... Your parents or grandparents may have a few of these items and you wouldn't even know the value.. 😂😊
Hugh G — Google review
The collection was interesting but somewhat hectic. Not much information was available about the exhibits. Staff had their young child running around and being very disruptive. A strange and awkward place for the hefty price that they charge.
Jul N — Google review
It's a VERY little museum overpriced 27 € for 2 little collections, the Gold and Faberge. The Gold one is just 1 room size, i expected to see something more interesting ... The whole collections Faberge and Gold honestly for what it is it are OVERPRICED, not good mantain and not attractive to the tourists ,specially for the ones who love museums,I can say this museum it is more expensive than the price of the Louvre in Paris or the Vatican in Rome and seriously nothing to compare, they are seriously making lot of profits for what they give, the customer is paying an overprice ticket for the effort they are putting in the mustum... I would like to know if the higher costs are because of donations to any charity or foundation that at least will justify the OVERPRICED ticket ,the only thing that can maybe make me think that justify 5 euros of the ticket cost it's the entrance ticket that is a Faberge Bill, like those of souvenirs you can buy in amusement parks machines with the logo park. They overprice their costs and i really feel dissapointed and scammed ,the museum doesn't cover my expectations they do have some very nice eggs of the faberge collection wich it's nice to see and worth but the exposition is very unorganized with lack of showing the history, they have little personal stuffs historical but not shown in a nice way wich it's a pitty because of the objects value, it's so messy at the point that the tourist feel tired with a headache and dizzy of such a mess put together, specially the way they put the jewelry and little stuffs that make them see like a cheap flea market wich its very sad. It's honestly very disappointed to scan an online QR code to read a few lines without a good explanation, they don't have the audio guide system. Their staff are very friendly and try to do their best but their souvenir store is also a mess with not so good quality products and OVERPRICED, it miss light in the whole museum, they can make it better , make an effort and give a better exposition well elaborate to show it to the customers and charge a fair price for what they show, or at least will be nice that they explain us if the OVERPRICED ticket it's for a good cause of charity to at least know it worth the payment.
Mili M — Google review
Too expensive for what is offered. Even though we were excited to have come across a museum dedicated to Fabrege's works, the entrance fee was shockingly high considering the size of the collection. The collection did not have as many Faberge eggs as one would expect to see. There are many items made in Faberge workshop on the exhibit though whose detailed works were impressive. Yet, hardly any further information about the maker and dates were available. Upon entrance we felt that we had mistakenly entered a Russian household. The single guide present just could give a few sentences in English about the exhibition, visitors were left to discover more through QR codes leading to bare minimum object descriptions. Half the entrance fee would be more than enough for this museum.
Sepideh A — Google review
Worth 3.5 stars, but my significant other and I went to this museum in December of 2024. Personally, I think it is overpriced but one of the tour guides gave us a detailed but concise history of Faberge Eggs in Germany. The museum is small therefore the self guided tour is brief. They have a gift shop that is nice but the replicas of the Fabrege Eggs are expensive but are still worth the look. However if you do decide to buy an egg remember..... these are NOT REAL FABREGE EGGS! But they will make an excellent accompaniment to a bookshelf, desk, table or stand.
Gentle B — Google review
Small museum full of pretty things. Nice QR code system in different languages. I imagine this is great if you’re already interested in Faberge but I wish there had been more history of the company to give some context to the items. The history of the museum is worth looking up. It’s owned by a Russian private collector. Interesting stuff with a fair bit of scandal!

Casinos & Gambling
The Baden-Baden Casino is a historic gambling establishment located in a neoclassical building adorned with ornate gilded walls, red carpet, and crystal chandeliers. Frequented by the rich and famous, it has been a source of inspiration for writers and artists throughout history. The casino offers various games such as blackjack, roulette, and slots in an elegant belle époque hall. Visitors can also enjoy dining at The Grill restaurant before trying their luck at the poker and roulette tables.
Beautiful casino. We had such a good time playing roulette. There is a dress code to enter so be sure to check the website for the rules. The dealers and other employees were quite friendly and made for an enjoyable experience. It is fully wheelchair accessible with an accessible bathroom as well.

Did the guided tour for 10€ less 1€ discount from our hotel. It really is worth doing. The casino is absolutely stunning with a fascinating history. The tour takes 40 minutes and you are allowed to take photos. A nice interlude on a cold day.

NOT GOING BACK. SERVICE NOT SO GOOD, ONLY 1-2 Tables (Roulette & something else). Didn’t see BlackJack and above all, no one there to provide any material gestures of guidance or hospitality. Actually saw the 2 tables at about 3-4PM, and was totally unimpressed. Baden-Baden yes, Casino pass it. The architecture is fantastic, and the inside quite clean. The coat-check lady was nice; but the Admissions lady was definitely not nice. I was well-dressed in a black-leather jacket, tux-white shirt and a gold-laced bow tie. The B forced me to drop €10-20 on an unnecessary jacket rental; and was a snot about it. Reminded me of my first encounters in East Germany when The Wall was coming down. They thought of everything, but the people and what they might need. Walking away, I saw the Illuminati of the Casio Bar. What could go wrong here? They had everything, but a bartender; because the 3 or 4 of them were kind of in the back corner talking. No attention whatsoever to customers. As an afterthought, a bartender appeared. WOW. For the $$$$ they were charging I worried about buying dinner. Service = 5/10. Real nice place if you want to hold your mouth open, but if you came to play Blackjack or another game—you’d have more fun by a long shot at the Tampa Seminole Hard Rock Cafe (at half the cost). Not so cool. They have a lot to learn about taking care of the client. When I turned in my Jacket, Ms. N. Admissions was supervising the coat check lady with a specious, down-the-nose look. Really Surprised as was my darling. The surrounding promenade OUTSIDE OF THE CASINO was filled with Baden-Baden interest, history, and adventure.
Adam J — Google review
The Baden-Baden casino is truly stunning: an elegant, refined place full of history, definitely worth a visit. However, what a strange idea to force men to wear a jacket in the middle of summer, with the heat unbearable and the air conditioning not really up to the task. In the end, you end up sweating more than betting… A shame that such an outdated rule slightly spoils the experience in such a prestigious venue!
Jerome G — Google review
Absolutely beautiful and unique casino. We were just doing the guided tour, but I had love to go on night to see the atmosphere...

Very nice lady at the front desk Paid 5 euros per person entrance fee There is a dress code for guys, you have to wear a blazer if not you can rent one for 10 euros We were given a locker to put our stuff inside. The interior of the casino is beautiful, majestic Highly recommend visiting

Absolutely gorgeous.. a must visit in Baden Baden!!.. it has a 200 yr old history.. the interiors are just amazing.. you could do a tour for a small fee earlier in the day or just soak up the casino vibes after 3pm. Even if you do not want to gamble you can always just get a drink inside 😉

Event venue
Kurhaus Baden-Baden, a neoclassical building constructed in the 18th century, has been a central part of the city's social life. It was initially a place for the elite to gather and is now used for various events such as receptions and galas. The casino located within the Kurhaus adds to its allure.
The mounted paintings and displayed sculptures were very interesting. I highly recommend a quick visit.

The Kurhaus is extra-ordinarily beautiful. The Casino is situated on the ground floor. The Bel-Etage is on the floor above. It is venue for regularly held tea-dances. A live band plays classic and modern songs perfectly pitched to the respective dance. A variety of teas, coffee, water and cakes are prepared on a buffet.

Merkur is a high mountaintop in Baden-Baden, offering a thrilling ride on the iconic Merkur funicular railway, which is the longest and steepest in Germany. At the summit, visitors can enjoy panoramic views of the Black Forest region and indulge in rustic Black Forest delicacies at the Merkurstuble restaurant. The mountain, named after the ancient Roman god Mercury, stands at 668 meters above sea level and can be reached by hiking or taking the funicular.
We walked up the mountain - very steep but fairly easy and the forest is beautiful. We had lunch and some beers in the cafe at the top - service was excellent as was the food, and very reasonably priced. We took the funicular back down and got the bus back to Baden-Baden - the bus is cash only but the driver was kind enough to let us on for free.

Has an amazing view from the top.

Great place! Amazing view. The cable car that goes to the top is very efficient. Clean, fast, and reasonably priced. The restaurant at the top is pretty good. The beef and the fish were good, but the cake felt a bit old.
Gadi Y — Google review
Beautiful place! Found rather easily a parking spot near the funicular entrance (on Sunday afternoon, late August), for free, and then bought a ticket (up and down) at the ticket machine for 8,50 euros (payment by card, but cash is also possible at the vendor). The ride itself is beautiful, and the funicular is very modern and clean. At the top, you’ll get lovely views (heard that sunsets can be amazing here), and you can parachute or take several hikes. There’s a restaurant/café and toilets up there. Highly recommended and so near Baden-Baden’s city centre, you can get here in less than 10 minutes.
André M — Google review
What a great, spectacular mountain! Don’t forget to climb the tower that is on top of the hill! ( it even features an elevator) and is completely free of charge!! 360^ panoramic view from its’ top. Monoculars can be used for only 50 cents. The hike up there is quite steep ( coming from Stauffenberg). It is however a great walking path right through the forest and once up there, you’re rewarded with a spectacular view! You can also reach the mountain via car or cable car!
Henrik W — Google review
Ask about fog before you go up! We went up on the cable train only to discover that the view was completely blocked by fog (no fog at the bottom)... If it's foggy I don't think it's worth the trip up. Otherwise sounds like it would have been nice.

The Merkur Funicular Railway is a popular attraction near Baden-Baden, Germany. It is the longest funicular railway in the country and takes visitors to the summit of Merkur Mountain, which stands at 668 meters high. At the top, there are hiking paths, a restaurant with local dishes, paragliding opportunities, and a 23-meter elevator that provides stunning views from Merkur Tower. The area also features a wildlife reserve and an adventure playground for families to enjoy.
A wonderful funicular at the edge of town. Well worth finding. €14 for a return trip for two adults was very good value compared to other funicular railways we have been on.

A nice funicular (railway cable-car) leading to a lovely mountain top with amazing view and nice spots for a picnic. Theres ride takes a few minutes. The tower at the top offers stairs or an elevator (however even with an elevator there are a few steps to climb). There’s also a restaurant there.
Asaf F — Google review
An absolute must. We walked from central Baden Baden to the station which was initially very steep. It then levels out. (Regular buses & lots of car parking). The view and walking trails are great. The cafe is reasonably priced. Naturally we scoffed a Black forest gateau which was excellent.

French restaurant
Le Jardin de France is an elegant dining spot located in Baden-Baden, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The restaurant offers creative French tasting menus and features Black Forest wines. Owned by Sophie and Stephan Bernhard, it has earned a Michelin star for its ornately presented French cuisine known as 'la cuisine du coeur' or food of the heart.
Very nice restaurant. Wonderful food. Baden-Baden is also beautiful.

Fixed menu three course business lunch-lovely presentation, very tasty and just the right portions. Main course was a mix of five different fishes- delightful!
Modupe O — Google review
In my opinion, this is the best restaurant in Baden-Baden. It is located in the very center of the city, in a park area. In summer, all tables are on the terrace. The food was excellent. We ordered beef tartare, quail, flounder and gazpacho. All dishes were five stars. The service was very friendly and unobtrusive. We spent more than 150 euros per person, but it was worth it.
Viktor — Google review
Each of us had a five-course menu. The portions were ridiculesly small, and the taste was mediocre and rather blend. Paying over 700€ for four people was NOT worth it. The only thing that stood out was the desert - meringue with sorbet and fruits. The restaurant‘s answer: 😳🤔 - shows that they are not open to constructive feedback.. Let me therefore clarify my review: The lobster was cold and undercooked, the deer was ~100g (I left the restaurant hungry), one course encompassed ~80g of one cheese (who wants so much of just one type of cheese). All in all, the taste of the meals was not „special“ at all. Nothing surprising, nothing innovative. That together with the price results in my two star review.
Nikopolo N — Google review
Exquisite food, impeccable service. The beef fillet was so tender it could be cut with a butter knife. Highly recommended.

If you're looking for a cozy and relaxing place to stay, the Geroldsauer Mühle is definitely worth checking out. The rooms and suites are all elegantly decorated with crisp white walls and high ceilings, making them feel spacious even though they're not. The guest house has its own bakery and wine shop where you can purchase delicious German treats like Schwarzwälder Kirschtorte (a special kind of pastry made from raspberry jam) or Riesling from the region.
Very nice location and nice food. Enjoyed the wooden ambience, there is a shoping option at the reception. Food was very good and the service too.
Mohan K — Google review
This is a beautiful spot with stunning scenery all around. We made a quick stop here and ordered coffee, which was decent but not as fresh as we'd hoped. The lady at the counter wasn't particularly friendly, either. However, the location itself is perfect for a brief stop. With its natural beauty and cozy ambience, it's an ideal place to take a relaxing break.
Akhila S — Google review
The food is super good. Products are very fresh and of high quality. BUT!! The service time is toooooo long. 45+ minutes for schnitzel and steak while the terrace is half empty isn’t normal. We were in the daytime. + There are plenty of flies outside, and eating in such company isn’t very pleasant. These points worsen the whole experience too much.
Valentina Z — Google review
Last year, on my way to a hiking trip, I noticed this restaurant and told myself I’d stop by next time. This year I finally did, and I was not disappointed. The atmosphere is fantastic, with a real German vibe. The menu is full of options and specialties, and the service is both friendly and efficient. The food was excellent. There’s a small river with a bridge nearby, plenty of parking, and even a little shop where you can buy local products. The place is charming, welcoming, and absolutely worth a stop. It may be a bit on the expensive side, but it’s definitely worth it.
Benoit — Google review
Stopped here on our way to the waterfalls to pick some snacks. The bakery stuff is super fresh and absolutely delicious. The prices are a bit high though. They also have local wines and specialty food.
Padmini S — Google review
The review os about the restaurant. Service is good, atmosphere is great and everything around it. But when ot comes to food it is really bad. The grilled chicken and burger are one of the worst things. I think that the chicken was rotten or old. The food is cooked in advance and then warmed up. So, you may enjoy the view and atmosphere but food, think about it.

RIZZI The Restaurant is a trendy spot known for its eclectic menu and eye-catching modern art. It offers a unique combination of dishes, from sushi to schnitzel, including milk-fed veal as a staple. The restaurant's location in the city center with an enormous outdoor terrace makes it popular among locals.
We called in for Sunday lunch as the rain was starting. We ate outside under the large umbrellas and they had the infrared heaters on. Great view over the park. The service was excellent. Sadly our German is terrible and our waiter was very patient and switched to English for us making things very comfortable. The food was lovely, very much worth the price. We might perhaps eat indoors next time as we are non-smokers and in UK many restaurants do not allow smoking even outdoors and we forgot this. I will be coming back to this lovely restaurant again, very close to parking and sights.

Great location and good food. Feels like it has the right balance between traditional dishes with a modern presentation and vibe. Would recommend to go here for dinner when you’re in Baden-Baden. But drinks are heavily overpriced at nearly €14,- for a ‘local’ glass of white wine.
Melvin V — Google review
We are indoors as it was a bit chilly outside. The decor was very nice, the waiter was very friendly and the food was good. It was fairly busy, but they still gave great service. I had salmon and my son had a steak. Both delicious. We shared a tiramisu for dessert it was big so we couldn't finish it but yummy. Everything was cooked well, fresh, and tasty. I would return again if I'm in the area.

We went here on a whim, and what a pleasant one it was. It was fairly busy, so reading past reviews, we prepared for slow service, but we were met promptly at the entrance. Ordering and receiving our food was great and did not take long at all. The food itself is delectable and worth it for the price. The Ravioli DNA was great, and the shrimp had great flavor. Overall, it's worth it.

Absolutely loved this stylish Baden-Baden restaurant! The modern menu offers a very broad range of food and the cuisine on offer has some Mediterranean & Asian influences with a great range of fish/ seafood, meat and veggie dishes. We ate lunch here on a warm early September day and really enjoy the buzzing atmosphere in their outdoor dining area (which is a great size). The staff were universally friendly and efficient despite the busy lunchtime service. Everything was beautifully served too. Our food and drinks were top notch. We both chose a veggie option (a delicious baked sweet potato) and it arrived piping hot. It was a brilliantly simple lunchtime dish on the restaurant’s business menu. The clientele was an eclectic mix of all age groups and though it was a well heeled crowd, casual dress was absolutely fine. Definitely worth trying! A lovely find.

Really hip and cool restaurant situated in a gorgeous pink house. I came here to see a doctor and he recommended this place for an interesting experience. When I came in, reservations had the place totally booked, but they still managed to squeeze me in. On a good day, sitting outside and taking in the beautiful nature/ architecture of Baden Baden is also fine. I like the interior design, the owner must really love retro Marilyn Monroe. The salmon tatar and tempura is also quite nice.

From the moment you enter, you feel you’re “in the right place” for a perfect service, delicious food, great atmosphere. We followed the staff advice to take red wine risotto and tempura veggies. You have to take these mandatory two. We also had codfish- very smelly, but delicious, plate of hams- felt very authentic, as well as grilled goat cheese with honey- all delicious. Both the red and the white riojas are typical “crowd pleasers”, and they did not disappoint either. We will definitely come back here if in this area again.

Good atmosphere, service was also quite good for how busy they were. We were lucky to get a table and this place did not disappoint. I could not order everything on the menu, sadly, but what I got was amazing. The octopus (grilled I tried, next time I’ll get the other way they prepare it) was amazing

A little beautiful hidden jewel - best food we had in Baden-Baden by a mile!!!! The Wurstsalat , Perlhuhnbrust and Steak were out of this world. Service extremely nice , very good winelist as well. Café König – Pure Dessert Bliss A must-visit for cake lovers! The Black Forest cake was incredibly light and fluffy with cherries and chocolate – Easily one of the best Black Forest cakes we’ve had – rich, but never heavy. The passion fruit cheesecake was equally stunning – creamy, tangy, and beautifully fresh. Paired with great coffee and charming outdoor seating, it’s the perfect treat stop in the heart of Baden-Baden.

The cakes were delicious, slightly on the pricey side but the cafe’s ambience is wonderful. The Black Forest cake was light, with fluffy cream, a subtle touch of cherry liqueur that wasn’t overpowering, and just the right amount of cherries topped with dark chocolate. Each element of the cake was well-balanced, making it a delightful treat. I would definitely come back again.

Very aristocratic cafe with classic hot drinks sweets and cakes. The service although performed in English needs some improvement to adjust and ensemble to the rest of the decor. The cakes were some average some good. The black forest was very nice. Tea portions were minion but nice quality and taste. Please note that first you need to order your sweets take your receipt and then go to the table to order your hot drinks and give the receipt to your serving waiter.

The waiter was screaming at me and my Family.. with no reason. She woke up my little 1,5 yo baby, while the waitress was yelling at us. I’m very very upset about the service we received here last Friday 12 Sept. at 2:45 pm. I came in and asked a waiter if we can sit outside at the table drink some tea with sweets we’re buying from their shop, she said yes, it’s ok. And I was sited and served with tea and some sweets. Then suddenly that “evil” waitress appeared behind my back! And started Yelling right away at me., smth like that it is not allowed to eat sweets from their shop here at the table.. I didn’t even understand what does she want.. she was so angry at us.. but we didn’t do anything wrong. I was disappointed with such a behavior. we were just seated and served by another waitress, and she was ok, serving us good. Other guests in the cafe were also surprised with this, you could see that on their faces.. it was so embarrassing. Not nice at all. .. I consider this as Service Crime against guests and the business also $$$. The name of this cafe - Kings!!??? This kind of service is not even close this word. The “evil” waitress refused to tell her name after the accident, telling that she has GDPR rights not to tell her name to clients)) ok. But what happens with my right to be treated as a human being and as a customer.? *I describe the waitress, so other customers may be aware. She has white colored hair, short haircut, aged.. and not nice) When I asked others from the team who is the general manager responsible for the service, they refused to tell that. And finally said that she is the main manager responsible for the service..)) that’s so sad.. if it’s true. PS: from the business prospective. We ordered sweets for 55 Eur this time.) and she was just Yelling at my Family.. because of what? A bad day or smth.. business looses me, my Family, my friends, recommendations , friends of my friends.. and so on. Gets a 1-star review.. + loses future sales. €€ We were shopping here before and visited this place several times for breakfast, sweets. Spent several hundred here already before,.. and could spend more this year and next, and then. So it will be some minus €€€ euro amount life time from the turnover from a business side, * multiple by how many times this kind of service happens.. how many customers are lost because of this waitress. and the service. the business looses thousands of Eur each year. At this point I don’t recommend visiting the place. Anyway, thank you for the lesson. Learned. I wish you all the best. Let’s take smth from this and make our world a better place)

We had Nigrum for our new year's eve dinner. The food is amazing and quite innovative. Wine selection is good with helpful staff advising us on the wine pairing. However, the pacing of the meal could be improved. The first few dishes came very fast while the main dish and the dessert was a bit slow. Location is iconic but not so easy to find if you're walking around Baden-Baden.

The food is good although some of the dishes need more seasoning and can be a little flat in flavor. The tartar was supposed to be done table side, but wasn't. The service is great and very friendly. The decor seems a little too messy. To get to the restaurant you need to walk up a steep hill, so bring comfortable shoes if you are walking

I've had the chance to dine in many great restaurants across Europe and beyond, but Restaurant Nigrum in Baden-Baden left a lasting impression. The atmosphere is refined yet welcoming, and the attention to detail is evident from the moment you walk in. The tasting menu was truly exceptional - each course carefully balanced and beautifully presented. The veal filet and the beef tartare stood out as highlights, both prepared with a level of skill and precision that speaks to serious culinary discipline. Service was impeccable - professional, warm, and unobtrusive. It's clear the team is passionate about creating not just a meal, but an experience. If you're in Baden-Baden and appreciate fine dining with substance, Nigrum is a must.

The restaurant staff are really helpful and friendly. They suggested local white wine, which has a great smell and texture that we asked if we could buy a drink a whole bottle to take home, and they sold us a new bottle. The dishes have a balanced taste and interesting additions to the main ingredients. The desserts are sprinkled over with Nougat, making it extra crispy and delicate. Plus, they allow you to select the number of dishes in this meal. Overall, I highly recommend this restaurant.

Heine's Wine & Dine is a modern and sophisticated dining establishment that offers seasonal tasting menus paired with an extensive selection of wines. The restaurant prides itself on bringing fun to the glass and delight to the plate, with a team that shares a passion for creating exceptional culinary experiences. Located in Baden-Baden, it is one of the city's newest dining venues. The menu takes guests on a journey through French cuisine, expertly paired with a diverse range of wines.
I am very difficult with food even in high end restaurants but I literally had the best meat and dessert of my life here yesterday! Everything was perfect, wine associations with the courses were absolutely great. Surprising and delicious. The veal was sublime I have no other words. Very nice atmosphere too and friendly staff. If I was less shy I would have complimented the chef myself in front of everyone every time I had a bite of the four courses. Thanks for the splendid evening!

Very friendly and helpful staff. Great wine options. For the price we paid we were expecting more of a fine dining experience. But the dishes did not meet our expectations as they were more ‘homely’.
Aafke C — Google review
Food and service are good, however i would not rate it as fine dining, except the menu price😂. in terms of value, we spent 180€ for three course and wine. I don’t think it worth it. The bottle of water is 8€. The Brest of Peasant was over cooked. It’s Not a restaurant i would like to visit twice. If there is a rating between 3 and 4, I will probably just give 3.5 because of it’s over charged.

On July the 10th 2023 we visited this restaurant after seeing the menu and overall satisfied reviews online. We do not recommend going to this place at all. The prices are very high, and they do not correspond to the quality of the dishes. Everything looked beautiful, but tasted bland. The dessert was literally the worst restaurant dessert in my whole life. Unfortunately, when it comes to the service, it doesn't get better. The waiter willingly served guests who came in large groups, entertained them throughout the evening. Although, he decided that we weren't worthy of his attention, as there was only two of us. The concept of serving wines was also very strange. For some reason the waiter took the bottle we paid for off our table and we had to always ask for a pour - it was impossible to get the waiter. Apparently, they keep the rest of the wines in order to sell it to other customers, which is a very dishonest strategy when you pay for the whole bottle. Later, I left a negative review on my Instagram page with a link to the restaurant, and the restaurant representative, instead of finding out more about our complaints and resolving it, began to threaten me and demand that I immediately delete my negative review. It was shocking. All in all, Heine's is the worst restaurant of all that we have visited in Baden-Baden, we regret the money spent and the ruined night.

The sommelier, Michael, and chef, Tobias, are a match made in heaven. This restaurant deserves a Bib Gourmand label. Excellent food, thoughtfully prepared, with generous portions and at reasonable prices, coupled with Michael Heine's deep knowledge and insight into German wine, both Baden and beyond. Many wines can be enjoyed by the glass. Michael is a generous and pleasant host, very personable and communicative. I will be back.

Not many words can properly describe how wonderful this place is! Take the food from a 5 star restaurant and take away the stiffness and pretentiousness and you get this place. It was quaint and comfortable. Come casually or dressed to the nines and you’ll fit right in either way. The food is like art and fabulous! The menu changes often and can be found on their Facebook page. It’s so fresh and thoughtfully prepared. I highly recommend doing at least the three course meal. I can’t imagine just ordering one plate. We ordered the 5 course with wine pairing and spent a wonderful three hour dinner just melting over each plate and each glass. You absolutely must try!

The food and wine was excellent. Balanced dishes with well suited wine. Friendly owner. Elegant and personal interor, with relaxed atmosphere.

American restaurant
The Grill is an exclusive restaurant located within the Baden-Baden Casino, exuding urban flair and a touch of 1970s Parisian style. The extravagant interior sets the stage for an international culinary experience featuring sushi and beef specialties, curated by chef Mario Provenzano. Guests can also enjoy wines from Marchesi Antinori, perfectly paired with the Italian 4-course menu.
Amazing steak and quality of good was great and the Creme brûlée was very tasty. Was very crowded on Saturday and thus quite loud. Additionally, we had to wait quite a while to get the bill. Nevertheless overall a nice restaurant in a casino setting.

The restaurant is located inside the casino. You will need to dress up to enter, gentlemen need to wear a jacket/suit. They prepare jackets to rent outside (before entering the casino). Ambiance was nice, amazing steak and the offer their local wine as well.

one of the best steaks I had in germany or maybe even Europe. excellent sushi and amazing tiramisu. certainly pricey but definitely worth it. need reservation and has a dress code

Our first night in Baden Baden and our hosts wanted to take us somewhere special. They brought us here. It was incredible! The service was impeccable, couldn't have been better! Food was delicious and came quickly. Atmosphere was great too. You need to be in a shirt and jacket to get in as it's in the casino, something to remember if going. You also need to bring photo ID

Fritz & Felix is a luxurious bar located inside the Hotel Brenner, offering a unique experience with its creative and modern twists on classic drinks. The bar boasts the largest collection of gin options in Germany and even offers homemade vermouth. Meanwhile, Rizzi and The Grill, both run by the Scherck family, are renowned for their fantastic sommeliers and great vintages from around the world.
My partner and I had a wonderful evening here. Hospitality and attentiveness was top notch. Ambiance is sophisticated, polished and upscale. Food was delicious. Salad was nice, tomato soup was tasty. My only observation is that the soup was rather tiny and the salad could of been larger. Bigger portions of both - considering the price $$$- would of been nice. My steak and French fries was excellent and fish was superb. Dinner was accompanied by a great Chianti. I strongly recommend this restaurant and thanks for the nice evening.

We stumbled upon this restaurant by accident. Although the outdoor area and the hotel upstairs are under renovation, the overall dining experience was excellent. The food was delicious, the staff were professional and friendly, and the environment was elegant. Highly recommend this restaurant.🤍❤️

We went to celebrate our anniversary and the staff went above and beyond to make sure we had a special night. We got the tasting menu and it was definitely worth the money. The wine list is also fantastic and you will definitely find something great at a good price point. If you are in baden baden don't miss this place

Lukas was an amazing waiter! Great recommendations for wine and also helped me to identify winter vegetables I was unfamiliar with. Michigan girl here-the venison was so moist! Yes I said it, moist. The Spätzle was worth the extra helping. ⭐️ The bar for aperitif was perfekt. The bartender was knowledgeable and also a perfekt artist with the garnish. Thank you to Fritz & Felix for making our 28th wedding anniversary something special. PROST 🥂 Went back to the bar!! Live music with Michelle was amazing. “Sunny one so true.” ❤️ Thanks from Sunny and Matt

Strasbourg Airport

International airport
Airport
Small but functional airport. Clean with plenty of parking space.
Azmarina T — Google review
Pretty weird airport. Avoid. Our flight flew in on time from another EU Schengen country but we were made to wait for 30 minutes in the immigration area needlessly, simply because the staff forgot to open the door… when they finally opened the door, everyone applauded sarcastically. The wifi was not working. The parking situation was a mess, with people blocking the exit in the parking lot because he was waiting there instead of the pick up and drop off area without moving as they waited for their party to arrive. No security or staff to resolve this mistake. The airport is small, and looks nice at a glance but it’s operation seems to be messy, at best.

Strasbourg is the local capital, essentially the second city after Paris. The European Parliament is here – where heads of state come. But the airport is a disgrace. It looks like a rural warehouse. Most of the routes go to Africa. If you want to fly somewhere on vacation, you’ll have to go to Dresden, Basel, or Paris. Here you’ll only find overpriced tickets and disappointment.
Kvas — Google review
Strasbourg is beautiful and the airport is easy to get to by train. That's where the good news ends. There was a very long queue at security with miserable staff. I had to remove my hair straighteners from my carry on bag and put them separately - why? I have never been asked to do that anywhere else, ever! It took me a while to understand what they wanted me to do. Very stressful. Then a very long queue at passport control. Finally through that and headed for the gate, searching for duty free, a bar or a café. Nothing except vending machines!!!! Unbelievable. Worst airport I have been to for facilities. I will never moan about Gatwick again :)
Alison H — Google review
Easy access from the city and easy to get in and out as it’s a small regional airport. I was not expecting anything fancy or particularly beautiful, just practical. But Air Conditioning? Yes that I was expecting. The terminal is super hot and outside it’s only 28C.
Rudy M — Google review
UPDATE FEBRUARY 2023: Nothing changed! DECEMBER 2022: I can't believe an airport in STRASBOURG EUROPE is so messy, dirty, unkept and disorganised! The check in conter opened way after it was supposed to. The "relax" area has couches so dirty you can see the LAYERS of filth. Not to mention the toilet in said "relax" area. It is absolutely appalling not to mention gr0ss... It is embarrassing for the City of Noel. It could be a neat little airport, but instead it just reminded me of an airport I know in Angola, AFRICA. Sad!
Ptrc — Google review
Once you pass security there isn’t a single bar, no restaurants and the duty free was closed . And the seats are like outside garden furniture. Even the worst airport in the UK has a restaurant or a bar . And to think the EU parliament is here and it’s an international airport just makes it even worse .
Andrew C — Google review
Clean bathrooms. Easy access from Strasbourg Train Station. It has a “Relay” store, simple food stand, vending machines. Not much to do and everything looks ok. You can get to this airport by train (around 9 euros per person) and you just walk through the bridge (it has a roof) to get there.

Karlsruhe / Baden-Baden Airport

Regional airport
Airport
Karlsruhe / Baden-Baden (FKB) Airport, situated 16km east of the city, offers a convenient entry point for visitors. The terminal is small and straightforward, with limited amenities such as coffee shops and travel agencies but no duty-free or restaurants. However, security processes are efficient and staff members are friendly. The airport's compact size makes navigation easy, and public transportation connections are acceptable. Despite its regional appearance, it serves international flights and provides quick passport control on arrival.
Little airport 40km to Karlsruhe, and more closer to Baden Baden... It's more for low cost company... You can come there by bus, train or car... Because its little there is no much places to eat and drink like at big airports... There is also little duty free shop inside... Security control is sometimes very very long especially when it's summer season and I recommend to people to come minimum 2,5-3 hours before to not miss the flight... People who work there is so kind and helpful but i think they need more worker at summer... Price is correct like at other airports... Also they need more charger for phones... All recommendations for visit and take some flights to and from there

OMG and this is in the middle of Europe! There were like so so much of travelers at the security check. Obviously the staff is not prepared to manage them! I was waiting for 50 minutes for the security check tried to ask help from 2 staff members saying I was scared to miss my flight. The answer from a grey haired lady was: “Bitte schön!” She did not even make the effort to answer me in English. Not like the others did much more. They let us outside to wait in the windy cold weather for like half an hour. Unhelpful, degrading experience. Will try to avoid.
Veronika S — Google review
Surprisingly, not the worst place to spend a night before your flight: there are a lot of chairs without armrests, so you can actually sleep! But the is no food during the night: Costa coffee, shop, and a corner with sandwiches are closed. There are some vending machines, but they take only coins! When the security opened (3 hours before the first flight) and we went through it and the boarder, there was a working sandwich corner and a small duty-free shop. It's a very small airport. Everything was super quick, and a liked a guy at the security check, very nice and polite.
Anna B — Google review
I don't see my previous review so I am putting this here. The primary problem with this airport is the security. My least favourite over a handful of airports I do almost weekly. Unusually, today's went smooth for me(not last week though), but I watched the staff make a woman cry today (with baby and carraige too). Travel is already stressful, they seem to go out of their way to ensure it's part of your experience when you travel through fkb. They need to stop clinging to their sense of process and open their minds up, seek training perhaps, in order to deliver a better experience. (Common airports for me... Let, Stn, LHR,Ltn, clu, sbz, ath, cfu,Kos,lux, bsl yes, that is how I am judging- given size of fkb, should be smoother than lcy). Management, if you are reading this, I assure you, not all people can be wrong. Even your positive reviewers have a hard time complimenting the security control. If it's a third party, then you should place pressure on the third party. While you're at it, comment to kvv that it's ridiculous that there is only one bus an hour to Baden train station during common daytime hours). Should be at least every 30 minutes and one should be crosslisted to connect all the way to the center or even lichtenthal.
Will T — Google review
The airport is small, and everything looks quite reasonable - just what you would expect. But don’t let that fool you. It will make you question whether you’re really in a European Airport. The ticket machine for the bus? Out of order. The bus drivers? Cash only. The only ATM at the airport? Yep - also out of order. The lady at the information desk? She found all of this completely normal and simply suggested taking a taxi to the city center. (Thanks for the shitty service displayed.) I ended up learning about an alternative—the DB app—from a kind soul who just happened to be trying to catch the bus too. All in all, bring cash and a lot of patience.
Duarte A — Google review
Utter chaos and inhumane conditions at Karlsruhe/Baden-Baden Airport. The line stretches dozens of meters and moves at the pace of a sedated snail. I’ve been waiting for more than two hours, while only one counter operates. There is no clear information, no organization, and staff seem absent or indifferent. This level of neglect and disrespect towards passengers is utterly unacceptable. I demand immediate action from management: open additional counters, provide proper communication, and restore basic order. If I would be to rate it - it would be negative five. Upd.Re: The ultimate denial and responsibilities displacement is clearly felt in your response👎👎👎
Vladislav K — Google review
It’s a lovely little airport with a great vibe, but unfortunately it seems that the company that runs the security checks can’t handle the busy season. I’ve been to heaps of different airports, but I have never had to wait in line for over 1.5 hours. You could feel people were getting stressed out. I had heard it from people before and now experienced it myself. Hope they are going to change something.
Theresa H — Google review
There were very unpleasant and untolerant staff this night. They had very limited English and couldn't read properly the certificate from my doctor as for my diabetes medications. So, I had to recall all my German to explain and they was so disgusting when they laughed at me. Last time I had no any problems with the same situation in this airport.

Ramstein Air Base

HQ of the United States Air Forces in Europe – Air Forces Africa, hugely expanded from 2004 to 2006.
My son took me on a tour. Huge base (about the size of Lackland AFB). We also went to the BX. Lots and lots of things you can shop for there! Very nice place! Had I not been so tired, I would have checked out the entire place.

One of my favorite bases to go through. I have stopped in throughout many deployments and currently working there as a retiree. Most Americans enjoy the KMCC because it offers most things that bring a piece of home to us here in Germany. There are many vendors and food options as well as a theater upstairs. A lot of events are held here to keep families entertained.
