Restaurante El Refugio

$$$$affordable
Restaurant
Seafood restaurant
Nestled in the charming locale of La Restinga, Restaurante El Refugio is a must-visit for anyone seeking an authentic taste of island cuisine. This cozy eatery specializes in fresh seafood, with dishes like grilled tuna and limpets that highlight the rich culinary heritage of the region. The fish served here is caught daily by the owner's brother, ensuring every meal is as fresh as it gets.
Fresh and simple seafood (limpets and fish), friendly and attentive service! We also liked the quesillo desert.
Joe — Google review
Wow what a place. Probably one of my top 5 fish restaurants ever. Owner is super friendly fish is fresh and cough by his brother. House wine is local and VERY good. What's not to like.
Stefan A — Google review
Waited over an hour for a table but it was worth it. The fish platter was amazing! Fresh and tasty. Local wine also really good. Service pleasant
Helen R — Google review
The local shrimps and Red Sea bream were fresh and delicious, although too much garlic was used for the fish. I order a glass of wine and it was barely 100 ml. The dessert was a bit disappointing.
SolorToursBarcelona — Google review
The fish is caught in the port in the morning by the owner’s brother and served here in the afternoon. Totally fresh and delicious. Try the fried cheese with pepper jam too. Expect to wait for a table.
Kirsty J — Google review
Great choice of freshly cought fish. Cooked to your liking. Owner is very pleasant to deal with. Best experience on El Hierro. Hungry? Harry up to El Refugio!!!
Konstantin M — Google review
A delightful lunch of camarones frescos (fresh shrimp), viejas (parrot fish), and zumo piña (pineapple juice). Service was friendly with a smile and local Canarian dishes were refreshingly tasty!
Edwin T — Google review
Very nice people and good service but the chipieones were not fresh and too fried. Try something else.

La Tafeña Restaurante.

$$$$affordable
Restaurant
La Tafeña Restaurante is a must-visit dining spot in the Canary Islands, offering an exceptional culinary experience. The attention to detail in preparing each dish and the use of fresh ingredients result in perfectly cooked meals with incredible sauces. The staff's warm and attentive service adds to the overall outstanding dining experience. While COVID-related signs were still posted during my visit, it did not detract from the overall positive experience.
Possibly the best food I've had in the Canary Islands. Each dish was prepared with attention to detail and incredible sauces. The ingredients were fresh, and the meat was perfectly cooked. The service was also outstanding, both attentive and kind. The only thing I didn't love was that the covid signs and distancing notices were still posted. It's not an issue at all, but the only bad thing I can say. I probably will never visit El Hierro again, but I would recommend anyone going to eat here!
Paul B — Google review
Lovely friendly restaurant and excellent food. Delicious aubergine dishes and the chicken Milanese and Pork very tasty. Gorgeous lemon and passion fruit meringue pie too
Judy P — Google review
Probably the biggest variety of vegan and vegetarian dishes on El Hierro! 🌱 Very welcoming staff, delicious food and big portions. Definitely a must try if you’re visiting El Hierro. Estupendo! Muchas Gracias ☺️
Ines J — Google review
Terrible service. I called them the day before, and noone responded. I went on the day at 15:20, they told me it’s full house. I asked that it’s my last day and i really wanted to try their food; they didn’t accept me to eat at the bar which was empty. There was a table half empty who finished their food, I offered to ask them if I could eat at their table, they said they wouldn’t allow me to ask them. Someone left at that moment, then they said kitchen is closed. It was before 15:30. Too many excuses to not accept someone and being guardians more than anything. If you’re so in spite of customers, why did you open a restaurant?!?
Çağsun A — Google review
Very good food and very friendly staff! Had a leek soup for started and beef with mushrooms as main course, it was delicious. Home made dessert. Excellent wine locally produced!
Constance E — Google review
The staff are very welcoming and gave us good recommendations. They walked us through the menu and helped us decide how many plates of entrantes were enough for two. They also have local wines. Would go back 200%
Nikhil S — Google review
Amazing!!! We are speechless for everything we ate. From the milhojas de berenjenas (wonderful), then the bacalao (such a different taste) and postres {pie themaracuya the best}. Also the staff so friendly and welcoming. Really really happy with what we got. Thanks a lot. We will be back for sure. Better if you reserve.
Silvia S — Google review
Delicious and unique food and service with a smile. Order the house salad.

Restaurante La Mirada Profunda

$$$$affordable
Restaurant
La Mirada Profunda Restaurant, situated in Valverde, boasts a sophisticated decor adorned with violet walls. Instead of a traditional menu, the chef personally presents the offerings in English due to their fluency. Patrons rave about the exquisitely tender octopus that requires little effort to cut. Additionally, the baby squid, roast pork, and stuffed courgette are equally delectable.
The owner and Chef personally welcomes you and tells you about the menu and specials... Spanish, English, even German. Extraordinary food, all local ingredients.... I am a Chef myself, I highly recommend the place. Good choice of local wine as well, I had a beer, but nevertheless.
Gregor R — Google review
Really nice place to have a nice meal in El Hierro. It’s cool. There’s no menu so the chef comes up to you and tells you the dishes of the day. Everything‘s locally sourced, really good service, and nice place to have a great meal. Highly recommend! I got a starter and a main dish with a drink and it was about €38 super reasonably priced for the quality of the stuff you’re eating in my opinion. Portions are big. Was very full so I didn’t even order dessert and that’s not normal for me haha Update I went back last night ! Here are the photos ..this was what I ate pumpkin cream soup, roasted pig, lemon yogurt .. for drink was seltzer water i will be making a guide on el hierro, find me at americaninspain on YT !
Bee — Google review
Small place in the main road of Valverde. Perfect ambient for a quiet dinner, low lights and soft music. Very kind service. Small menu but has a good variety. Our bill was 70€ for two with a bottle of a local white dry wine (Uwe) and a dessert. It lacks of a good view or a terrace. It's a closed place.
Ángel S — Google review
Absalutely amazing. The cheif explained every dish with passion and interacted with us so genuinely. The food was incredible and the service was too notch. Will be back!
Scott W — Google review
Great food. We had octopus, fish and pork. I usually don't like pork, but this one was exceptionally soft. The chef knows what he's doing and atmosphere is great as well.
Izabela G — Google review
Good place at Valverde if you are looking for a restaurant with some vegan options. Just ask the cook for vegan food when he comes to tell you the menu of the day. Good quality food. The ensalada mixta is the best I have ever had, recommended 😋.
Sanne B — Google review
Consider it a must visit in El Hierro! Food is amazing, good local wines and great atmosphere! Definitely recommended!

Fantastic cook, great food. We came twice on our El Hierro holiday :)

Casa Goyo

$$$$cheap
Restaurant
Spanish restaurant
Nestled in the heart of the Canary Islands, Casa Goyo has earned its reputation as a must-visit dining spot since winning an award in 2006. This charming eatery specializes in fresh fish and delectable seafood dishes, perfect for those looking to indulge after a day of exploring. While it may not offer soups—an unexpected twist given the region's chilly climate—the menu features a variety of options that cater to different tastes.
Never eaten such tender meat melted in you mouth. Sauces obviously home made. Service no issues . Prices reflect the quality of the food. Ps be prepared to have to wait for a table, other people know about this place as well !
Peter S — Google review
This place gets really crowded so expect to wait about an hour. The waitress does literally everything from attenting to people, making drinks, taking calls, translating, slicing dessert, and hyping the place up. Shes really nice and energetic! I had the main stars from garbanzos, chicken kiev, tres leches, and the barraquito. Honestly didnt enjoy the chicken kiev, you can see mine was so overdone it had black spots similar to how lava flow looks, the chicken was as dry as bark and Chickpeas were delightfully flavourful with chorizo, tres leches had lovely layers of light cake, dense cream, and was topped with a meringue, best to share. If you are new to barraquito, I recommend not trying it because it uses a lot of the waitresses time and it will keep you up till 3am.
S — Google review
Very friendly staff! Small but good menu. Prices like everywhere. Good food!

Superb lunch of Caesar Salad and Stuffed chicken. All delicious. Excellent friendly service and more than reasonably priced. Thoroughly recommend
Judy P — Google review
Excellent food and great service
Damien S — Google review
We came here cold and wet after a hike, and I was looking forward to a hot bowl of soup or something, but amazingly, they don't do soups at all! Shocking, considering this area is noted for its cold, foggy and damp climate. The food is fine, nothing great but pleasant enough. Don't order the calamares as they are expensive. Just a few rings augmented by chips and salad. We ordered this because there weren't many options for us. There's another restaurant next door - perhaps we ought to have tried that one.
Chiew P — Google review
Simple local place with very good food. The menu is not extensive, but offering enough options to choose from. We had the chickpeas, the Casa Goyo salad, the chicken croquetas and the filled chicken which was very similar to a cordon bleu. All was very tasty, but the filled chicken stood out and was so delicious. Delicious enough to order a second plate. The chickpeas seemed a bit undercooked, but the sauce was very flavourful and tasty. The service was disappointing. We were 3 people alone in a room, requested a table that wasn't in the way and further from the wine of the door, but they explained those tables are in case 5pax come and then 2 people came in and they sat them there. Quite a strange situation and not very helpful. But regardless of this, the dinner was simple, but delightful, and the prices are more than affordable. Recommended for a local experience.

Smal cozy bar. If you are in San Andres El Hierro its one of two places to have something too drink. Staff and owner are friendly.

Mirador de La Peña

Mentioned on
2 lists
$$$$affordable
Restaurant
Nestled high above the stunning El Golfo Valley, Mirador de La Peña is a breathtaking viewpoint that showcases the natural beauty of Lanzarote. Designed by the renowned artist Cesar Manrique in the 1980s, this architectural gem harmoniously blends stone and wood with its surroundings, creating an inviting space for visitors. At an elevation of 700 meters, it features a delightful restaurant where you can savor traditional dishes while soaking in panoramic views of the vast blue ocean stretching into the horizon.
Magnificent views combined with superb architecture by Manrique, And you can combine it with sitting in the terrace sipping a coffee or your favorite wine overviewing half of the island. By far the best viewpoint of El Hierro.
Mark V — Google review
This’s is one of the prettiest viewing points I have ever been to. Wonderfully designed by Cesar Manrique it is very pleasing with very dramatic views.
Bibi F — Google review
The Mirador is amazing, of course...Cesar Manrique designed it, the views are gorgeous, really stunning. After trying to have lunch in several suggested places by local people which were closed during Xmas holidays, we were hungry after the hikes so we decided to give a try to this tourist place, hoping that Km0 policy would allow us to have a taste of El Hierro. We knew it would have been overpriced, didn't expect so much overpriced for the quality of the food and service (slow and not willing to give you any explanation about the ingredients, only if asked they would tell you something, the minimum). Temperature of the white wine not ok, after the right time in the glaciette it became ok, but it was much after the selection of cheese was brought and finished. The soup "huevo a la herreña" not ok the presentation, not ok the seasoning, not ok the potatoes, we tried to gently give our feedback, but the answer was that taste is personal, it may be true, but the quality of the ingredients it's not personal neather the seasoning. The lamb was average and the fried goat was very dry and difficult to find meat only fat, the potatoes also very dry and not seasoned. We diligently compiled the feedback sheet they gave us, hoping it will help to improve the standard of a place that deserves better, until this switch doesn't happen, my humble suggestion is to enjoy this place for the main reason it exists: the view, have a coffee in the terrace to enjoy more the stunning view, but don't pay so much for such a low way to respect the products.
Martina A — Google review
Well I only had a drink and some aperitifs there , so could not say how the food is, but the view, that's something else, plus I bet that's that's what makes the prices bit higher
Claudiu I — Google review
Designed by Manrique, this one the not so many, beautiful pieces of architecture of El Hierro. Breathtaking views and enjoying here a drink is just heaven on earth. Even if the drinks are slightly over-priced and not the best. Still having a drink was a very nice experience. The place is stylish and clean, we worked from here one afternoon and had some food for lunch, which was good, decent, not bad, not good. This place would deserve a better menu and a proper chef considering all the space, view and design that it offers - it's a pity they didn't invest more in their drinks and gastronomic experience and capitalize only on the building and view. So, not necessarily recommend for dining, but definitely visit it and enjoy the view.
Irina B — Google review
Great Mirador, designed by Cesar Manrique, infamous lanzaroteño artist. Stunning views.
Nicolás M — Google review
Breathtaking views from this point of the island. Coffee was good and together with the view its a great experience. We just took coffee here, so I can't say anything about the food, although staff didn't felt so welcoming. There is space to park your car, but it gets full on peak hours. Keep in mind that you can enjoy the views from outside of the restaurant, so no need to spend any money to enjoy the views.
Josemy D — Google review
Food was ok, although ive eaten better pineapple with shrimps on other restaurant, but service was horrible. We were seated, order drinks and good 20 min after seated, recieved bread and starter at the same time, after we eaten starters we were left with the dishes on the table another 20 min, and than recieve main 2 min after. For desert we took pineapple with chocolade, worst desert i ever had. On top of that high prices. First time in life i left restaurant without tip.

Restaurante La Vieja Pandorga

$$$$cheap
Restaurant
Nestled in the charming village of La Restinga, Restaurante La Vieja Pandorga has become a beloved spot for both locals and visitors alike. This delightful eatery specializes in fresh seafood dishes that truly celebrate the ocean's bounty. Diners can indulge in a variety of local delicacies, such as grilled tuna and limpets at El Refugio, which perfectly embody the island's culinary heritage.
Amazing local seafood restaurant! Everything in this place tastes delicious!!! The prices are fair and the service is fast and kind. If you love eating seafood make sure to give this place a try!
Nikolaj P — Google review
Restaurant with some outside seating and the menu written on the board. Inside is your typical Spanish comedor with too white light :-) They specialize in fish. We had the arroz caldoso, a favorite for many clients.
Mark V — Google review
We had some deliciously cooked local food here. Everything tasted very fresh, especially the seafood and fish. We liked the limpets, mussels, grilled parrot-fish and the tierra y mar (surf and turf of mixed meat and seafood), but everything was great. The servings are generous and the staff are friendly. I would recommend this restaurant if you’re in La Restinga
Chris — Google review
Fantastic restaurant in the south of El Hierro. Every meal we had was top quality! We especially liked that meal in pot called Aroz Caldoso - a must try there! The bill for 8 people (4 adults and 4 kids) was affordable. Service was also super pleasant. Highly recommended!
Jonas A — Google review
Very close to the harbour. I prefer to eat outside in the terrace, but this time we have to seat inside, but close to the big window, so we had fresh air. Fried cheese was great. Fish is always good, but I will not repeat the paella. Good service.
Ángel S — Google review
Following all the great reviews, we couldn't wait for 8pm to have our dinner here and, unfortunately, this has been a disappointing experience. Service was careless and unfriendly, not sure we got a single word or a question or a recommendation. First, we requested a bottle of wine or a wine menu, we got 2 glasses of white wine, which was acidic and fairly not good. We then ordered beer, I haven't got mine til 45min later. Our ordered lapas came with no garlic sauce, chewy and with a rotten taste. We turned them to check, not sure if that was looking fresh. Then 5 min later they came without a word and just changed our lapas dish with one with garlic, no sorry, no explanation. We've tried these one, but they had the same similar chewy rotten taste but with garlic. Moving on: la sopa de mariscos was quite tasty. The paella had quite a tasty sauce too, but the shrimps had yet again a rotten taste, so did the mussels. Don't know what was going on yesterday evening, but any sea food we had seemed not fresh. Maybe it was just this night but coupled up with the service, we left quite disappointed in our first dinner in El Hierro. I understand it might have been just this evening, but I wouldn't recommend it.
Irina B — Google review
This place is a must see if you are here. Food is fantastic. The arroz caldosa is a delightful experience it's for two but there's enough for 6. Had to take a siesta afterward was so much. Try the blanco afrutado wine

Restaurante Casa Juan

$$$$affordable
Restaurant
Nestled in the charming coastal village of La Restinga on El Hierro, Restaurante Casa Juan is a culinary gem that beckons seafood lovers from near and far. This delightful eatery prides itself on serving locally sourced fresh fish, expertly prepared with a unique blend of Peruvian and Japanese influences while honoring traditional local flavors. Many visitors have stumbled upon this treasure by chance, only to find themselves returning for more due to the incredible food and exceptionally friendly staff.
Great hyperlocal fresh seafood, friendly staff, cold beer, good wines, and delicious barraquito. Definitely great place to dine in La Restinga just couple steps from the beach :-) Casa Juan was recommended to me by locals in La Frontera and it was definitely a great cuisine tip. I had lapas and they were amazing. Definitely recoomended and worth the visit.
Pavel K — Google review
Waiter was professional and nice, though like most popular places he is very busy being the maitre'd, server, barman, cashier, sous chef, cleaner, and best friend. Loved the fish of the day, the boiled potatoes were some of the best. I'm going to have dreams about the gofio dessert too. Tuna sashimi was also delicious, its an aged tuna thats firmer with flavour. Disliked the bread, just a personal preference.
S — Google review
Now that's a 5* restaurant in La Restingq. Delicious food, fresh, well seasoned and cooked, beautiful plating. Simply amazingly friendly owner attentive to detail and very caring. Highly recommended as the best place in town to eat. Thank you for such an experience.
Irina B — Google review
Amazing dinner, the food was so good! They were friendly and the place is nice and the fish fresh and perfectly done. A bit more expensive than the other options in town but worth it. We will come back for sure if in La Restinga.

The food here is incredible. We went on a recommendation from a canarian friend. The croquetas and rice dishes were amazing. They also have fresh fish. We didn't love the dessert, but otherwise fantastic. I'd highly recommend it.
Paul B — Google review
A very fine fish restaurant that can convince in terms of taste and quality. The dishes are great combined, the staff is very attentive. There is deduction of one point for the relatively small portions - far from fed up with a starter and main course.

Restaurante La Pasada

$$$$cheap
Restaurant
La Pasada is a popular restaurant on the island known for its stunning ocean view and delicious cuisine. The food is of high quality and reasonably priced, making it a great choice for both locals and tourists. Due to its popularity, the restaurant tends to get crowded during peak hours, so it's advisable to arrive early or be prepared to wait in line. Reservations are not accepted, so it's best to plan accordingly.
Very hearty food, generous portions, friendly service. Particularly the gambas al ajillo and the desert (quesillo) were top. 👍
Joe — Google review
Lovely traditional restaurant, even on a slightly chilly evening. Made to feel very welcome, even with our limited Spanish. Food nice, quickly served and all with a smile. The garlic soup was very tasty.
Sue — Google review
Absolutely fabulous. Outside terrace beside a not busy road, and tables inside. We sat by the window with a spectacular view over the ocean. Service was exceptional even providing a spray (which worked!) when my friend dropped sauce on her white trousers 😊 Food very plentiful and delicious. We shared scrambled eggs with solomillo and mushrooms and for main courses had goat stew and grilled chicken. I’m not very adventurous! Prices too excellent, paying 33 euros for us both. Fabulous find and I would highly recommend it.
Catriona C — Google review
This place is often full - and for a reason. The food is very good. We had shrimps in olive (the typical Spanish dish - but it was much above average, the shripms were lare and tasty, and so was the olive), a fried octopus (in a sweet-ish sauce, the octopus was world class good, the sauce is probably not for everyone - one needs to like a touch of sweetness), then we had a parrot fish (world class) and fish in onion sauce (tasty, but no comparison to the parrot fish). Good wines, too.
Lukasz R — Google review
One of the best restaurants in el Hierro. Essential in your visit. The food was simply amazing. We ordered some fried octopus, tuna croquettes and sirloin scrambled eggs with mushrooms, and everything was perfect.
Jordán Q — Google review
Lovely place, local feeling, delicious food and super fair price. Small space with just a couple of tables but with great service. If you are a meat lover, this is your spot. Highly recommend having the solomillo with mushroom sauce.
Karen M — Google review
The food was excellent - the croquetas were particularly good
Damien S — Google review
Amazing food with a great view to the sea. The food it's of great quality and isn't expensive. It's a famous restaurant in the island so it's usually full on peak hours. They don't accept reservations, so you need to go there and be in queue if there is no table. Go a little bit early to avoid being hungry for too long ;) I recommend "Solomillo al Queso", you won't regret it!

La Higuera de Abuela

$$$$affordable
Restaurant
La Higuera de Abuela is a highly recommended restaurant that offers top-notch local produce. Their grilled local cheese with honey/green sauce is a delectable dish that strikes a perfect balance and boasts a creamy texture. The stuffed mushrooms are skillfully prepared and bursting with flavor. The accompanying green and red dipping sauces elevate the simplicity of the local boiled potatoes, making them an effective choice.
Fantastic restaurant, open only in the warmest months of the year, with excellent food, great wines and wonderful service. We will be back very soon!
Małgorzata N — Google review
The restaurant it's very cozy. The garden is beautiful and the atmosphere makes you feel like taking a seat, resting and enjoying the food. We ordered salad with cheese and nuts, grilled cheese with honey and mojo, lapas and croquettes (chicken and fish) for starters and as a main sirloin with apple salsa & grilled fish (kind of tuna). To drink we tried UWE ecological dry white wine and local beer. For dessert we had merengon. The food was fresh and we enjoyed it. As I don't eat meat I order fish. It was well done, but it appeared I'm not a fan of this type, prefer fatter ones. I would also prefer green mojo with coriander, but I think it was made with parsley, which changes the taste a bit. My friends ordered meat and it was very well prepared, soft and tender. As far as drinks: wine and beer was really good. And we all enjoy our dessert. Not heavy, not to sweat. Really delicious. I would recommend the place for lunch / dinner. It's quite busy, so don't forget to call and book. Enjoy.
Ela — Google review
The best cheese I've ever tried. We also liked the dessert. The rest of the food was ok. A bit overpriced I'd say. If you want a table you need to book in advance.
Julia S — Google review
Very cozy place to dine, or just have a drink! Alot of plants and small area making it very cozy. Nice staff, just a bit of wait for drinks/food when busy
Helena P — Google review
Passing through the iron gate to La Higuera de Abuela, we entered a beautiful tropical garden with plenty of shade and comfy tables. On the first visit (without reservation) we were accommodated at a table "inside" (which is almost in the garden), a second visit with reservation placed us right under a beautiful tree. The place is quite busy (all tables occupied) but never feels stressed or cramped. All the food we had (croquetas, papas arrugatas, fish, beef sirloin, salad, pimientos de padrón, ...) on both visits came quickly and freshly to the table and were delicious, all for a very fair price tag. Service was very prompt, cheerful and friendly, recognizing us on subsequent visits 😊 Most likely going to go again - muchas gracias!

🔝 quality local produce highly recommended💯. I started with the grilled local cheese with honey/green sauce which was delicious well balanced & creamy. The stuffed mushrooms were well elaborated packed with flavour. The local boiled potatoes with accompanying green and red dipping sauces was simple but effective. We tried the fried rabbit which was also tasty. The famous desert, the Merengón🍰, didn't disappoint. All washed down with a pretty wild & surprising local organic red, UWE 🍷. Pleasant dinning surroundings & decent ambiance. ❤️🔙
Mark A — Google review
A lovely place with friendly service, but I'd say the food was overpriced and ok, but nothing too good. The shrimp cocktail was even a bit oversauced and the shrimps had little taste. The croquetas were average, the falafel was standing a bit out unexpectedly tasty. The beef meet, the solomillo was a properly cooked, but the meat quality didn't excel or compare to other places on the island. The rabbit was very dry and chewy, though the taste itself was quite good. Overall, we came with quite high expectations regarding food, and while the place is magical, we left kind of disappointed. Food quality doesn't justify the prices, but maybe the service and the place does, depends on what you're looking for.

Guachinche Aguadara

$$$$cheap
Spanish restaurant
Bar & grill
Guachinche Aguadara is a traditional eatery on the Canary Island that offers an authentic taste of the best Canarian food. Located in Frontera, it is known for serving delicious papas arrugas and flavorful sauces. The friendly staff and pleasant atmosphere add to the overall dining experience, making it a must-visit spot for those seeking genuine local cuisine.
Delicious food and beautiful location. The food was incredibly tasty, best tomatoes I had in 10 days on the island. The grilled cheese was heaven. Big portions also. We've came 1h way to have the T-bone, but they didn't have it. So, we went for beef fillet and pork ribs. The beef was a bit overcooked and yet, very tasty. The pork rib was just perfectly done. Cheers to the chef. Coffee wasn't the best, but this place is not about coffee. House wine was unexpectedly good and recommended. We've took our time to enjoy the beauty of the place decorations and surroundings. There's quite some effort and making this place so interesting and quite a good location to catch a sunset. Recommended to any meat love that arrives on the island as there are not many good meat places around here.
Irina B — Google review
Awesome Guachinche serving up delicious local specialities with a view and atmosphere. Bring a sweater because its cold. Loved the grilled cheese, the meats were grilled over aromatic wood thats similar to hickory. The star of the show for me was honestly the kombucha, so refreshing amidst the stout dishes. The servers were also very helpful in picking out dishes, and suggesting a smaller portion of starters. I had the grilled cheese, pork ribs, entrecote, polpovito dessert, and kombucha. If I came again I might have gotten a sirloin, tomato salad, and quesilo for salad.

Cosy place. Nice smell of burnt wood. Very good food and affordable prices. For huge fish, steak, 2x soups, platter of cheese, wine, water and bread we've paid 37 euros.

Unique décoration made with any kind of thing, converted to a small piece of art. The staff is very king. Do not forget tomato salad, fried cheese and goat meat. In summer it could be hot. Book in advance.

Unique atmosphere and great service. Fresh ingredients. Possibly one of the top dining experience in el Hierro.

We were shocked to find kombucha and craft beer here! The service was friendly and the atmosphere was great. We also really enjoyed the fried cheese appetizer. We especially care for our main dishes.

El Hierro Airport (VDE)

Airport
Aerial gateway to the quietest and most authentic of the Canary Islands: El Hierro! Barely any people around here… a haven of retreat for introverts and those needing a break from the ongoing troubles of the world…

Everything is fine EXCEPT for the security. They think they can rush passengers and give orders but this is not a military airport, nor Heatrow. Ignore them if you are treatened like this. And for the airport management- do not let them treat passengers like this (10.08.2025)

A really pleasant airport. Lots of space, super clean environment and helpful polite staff. We were super impressed with the cafe food and drinks - so reasonably priced for an airport. Not much more than an ordinary bar/cafe - very refreshing compared to usual airport prices! Plane check in smooth and left bang on time. They even have a water dispenser in the departure area to fill your bottle before getting on the plane.

My second favourite place on the island! My friend got canceled 4 flights, so I had the chance to spend around 10 hours at the bar inside the cute little airport waiting during my holidays. The waiter is kind and knows a lot about weather conditions of the island! Try the octopus salad!! I have to give 4 stars cos the omelette wasn't that good. Thanks! Hope to come back soon!

Aeropuerto de El Hierro (VDE) is like ‘’Caja De Bombones Suiza’’ or like ‘’La Bonbonnière Française’’. Small and cute. I've never flown with Binter Canarias but, I went there specially to see this sweet mini-mini. September 2019.

La Gomera Airport

Airport
A small field right by the sea, tucked into the mountainside. The runway does not seem to suffer from the same problems as the windy Funchal field in Madeira. The field's architecture is particularly attractive. Check-in and other activities were smooth and friendly. For once, an airport where going from one gate to another doesn't require the fitness of a marathoner.

Beautiful, clean, small, modern airport on La Gomera.

Small airport, spotlessly clean, efficient service, cafe and car hire desk, amazing clifftop landing onto La Gomera.

Smooth and efficient. We could park our car anywhere and everything was on time. We could arrive 30 minutes before our flight without feeling rushed.

A place between the sea and the sky where lives over 24000 people. The view from the road to the top is Incredible . Nature preserved in her original form as a huge natural park.Aloe field and its benefits can be reveald on its place. An interesting experience is the wisthle language the people on the island must to studie on school. An old tradition since the people had no other way to comunicate . Recomeded!❤️

This is a great way to get to La Gomera, we flew from Gran Canaria, it took around 40mins. Flight was a little late but nice and easy. Apparently the ferry journey was really rough that day.

Walked up from HPB site to airport arriving about 11.45. Cafe was tidying up but happy to serve. Very welcome ice-cream on a hot day. Still tidying up dirty cups and serviette

Great little airport where Binter fly direct to Tenerife North and Gran Canaria. Coffee bar is back open after covid. They have a small souvenir shop (closed when I was there) and a couple for car hire places. Checking in and going through security was simple and the people that work there are nice.
