The Railway Museum

Rail museum
Museums
The Railway Museum, situated in Omiya, Saitama City, is a modern and interactive museum that delves into the history of railway development in Japan and beyond. Visitors can explore exhibits featuring old train cars and simulators that provide insight into train operation and technology evolution over time. The extensive collection includes steam and diesel locomotives, passenger and freight cars, as well as retired shinkansen.
Every train enthusiasts dream.. Lots about the history of trains and railway cars in Japan and how they evolved. In fact, there is probably too much information for just one day. The museum has: * various trains * a giant diorama (think model train set in a basement but x100) of the trains currently in Tokyo and how and when they operate * simulators (you can to practice driving trains) * a lunch car train for you to eat in * interactive activities, such as making your own train * a cafe/restaurant * souvenir shop * audio information available in English via the app * daily demonstrations of how they would change tracks. I am sure i am missing stuff as well but if you like trains or are with someone who likes trains. I would recommend this museum. It was easy to get to via the metro and you can buy tickets online or in person. Would recommend 2-4 hours based on level of interest.
JC Y — Google review
This place is freaking amazing! It’s like stepping into train heaven. The life-size locomotives are jaw-dropping, the simulators make you feel like a real conductor, and the exhibits are super interactive (even for adults). The whole place is spotless, easy to navigate, and packed with history that somehow never feels boring. Don’t skip the rooftop where you can watch Shinkansen fly by—it’s surreal. If you’re in Tokyo and even slightly curious about trains, this museum is an absolute must-visit.
Arthur T — Google review
A must-visit for train enthusiasts, but there's also a ton of stuff for kids. On a Friday morning, there were tons of families and school groups, so I can't imagine how crowded it must get on weekends. It's a really big museum, so you probably need more than a couple of hours to see everything. There are several places to eat, and a really big souvenir shop as well.
Grant M — Google review
Fun and Educational Experience for the Whole Family! We visited The Railway Museum in Tokyo (Omiya) with our 20-month-old baby and had a great time! The museum is very well-organized, spacious, and clean. Even though our little one is still young, he enjoyed looking at the real trains, moving models, and the sound effects — lots of visual and sensory fun! There are many interactive exhibits for both kids and adults. Older children can enjoy train simulators and hands-on activities, while parents can learn about the history and technology of Japan’s railway system. Facilities are family-friendly — clean nursing rooms, stroller-friendly paths, and rest areas make it comfortable for parents with babies. The restaurant and café also offer nice meals and snacks with a train view. It’s definitely a great place to spend half a day or more, especially for families and train lovers. Highly recommended if you’re visiting Tokyo with kids! 🚄✨
Mayy P — Google review
Amazing museum! Everything about Japanese trains from 19th century to the newest JR additions! From real trains to models to awesome history rooms with many accessories and authentic things from era. Tickets are also really affordable and they have a model train store here! It's one of the best museums not even in greater Tokyo area but in all of Japan!
Andzio — Google review
We visited the museum on a Saturday in November 2024. For train enthusiasts, this place is incredibly exciting; however, we believe that even non-enthusiasts will be in awe of it as well. This place is amazing! There are several exhibitions stretching from the train station to the entrance of the museum. If I remember correctly, there are about four to five ticket machines outside. We paid in cash, and at that time, the ticket price was ¥1600 per adult. Surprisingly, there was no queue since we arrived around 11 am, and the morning crowd had mostly entered by then. The exhibition features a huge hall displaying various models and types of trains used throughout history. We walked around several times to appreciate each train on display. You can even enter some of the trains to experience what the cabin feels like inside. The different designs of the trains and their cabins can be appreciated by anyone, not just dedicated train enthusiasts. It's also a fun place for kids; the displays are not only grand but also quite engaging. The second floor of the exhibition houses a restaurant and presents a chronological timeline of the different types of trains, including those that are still in existence and those coming in the future, complete with detailed miniature models. In another building, there are several simulators where visitors can experience what it's like to be a train conductor. It's surprisingly realistic. Overall, I can confidently say that this museum is worth the visit. It offers not only a stunning perspective on design but also a deep appreciation for engineering and technology. Over the years, advancements in engineering and technology, combined with innovative design, have made significant contributions to the history of trains.
Khal E — Google review
Fantastic train museum - kids will love it. HUGE display of trains, galleries full of stuff, heaps of activities and shoes for the kids. Allow a full day to see and do everything. Multiple restaurants and cafes on site to slake hunger and thirsty. Conveniently located right outside train station too! Only star off for complicated "lottery" style reservation system for some of the activities
Jimmy M — Google review
I'm so glad I came here, I'm not even much of a train fan but driving the mini trains and the simulators put a very big smile on my face. A fantastic museum and experience that's well thought out and put together, absolutely worth the journey from central Tokyo! Food in the restaurant was a bit poor, very expensive and not tasty. Would be perfect with a better menu as the decor and atmosphere were great.

Saitama Stadium 2002

Mentioned on

Stadium
Sights & Landmarks
Saitama Stadium 2002 is a must-visit for football enthusiasts, being one of the largest soccer-specific stadiums in Asia. The venue exudes an electrifying atmosphere during matches and boasts impressive architecture even outside game days. Opened in September 2001, it can accommodate up to 63,700 fans and hosted four matches of the 2002 World Cup.
Went there as an away fan. Good experience. Nice stadium, amazing environment next a river. Friendly ticket price. Also, it’s rare to watch a 7 goals game, though it’s our team got battered. But we got battered wherever we go, hahaha be positive. Also it’s good to see Daizen, Ito and Mitoma play in person!
Yichen H — Google review
Saw Urawa host tokyo Verde on a sunny Saturday afternoon. Easy walk from the station to the stadium, great atmosphere.
Andrew C — Google review
In today’s match, while I was taking pictures of players warming up on the pitch, one supporter approached me with aggressive behavior and told me that the cameras are not allowed here. I don’t understand why we are not allowed to take photos inside football stadium. Personally, I would say that please be careful while attending the home supporters’ stand; not all people welcome us foreigners.
Supasith Y — Google review
The huge soccer stadium has over 60,000 seats and is the home stadium of the Japan national team. It takes about 30 minutes from the city center of Tokyo to Urawa-Misono, the nearest station. And then it needed to walk 20 minutes from the station to the stadium. It gets very crowded after matches.
K2 — Google review
Awesome stadium! Me and my brother watched Japan vs Saudi Arabia in a FIFA qualifier match. They let you bring beers in if if you pour it into their cups and the drinks inside don't cost much anyways. Bathrooms were good and never had that long a wait. The stadium is huge and the people were all very nice and helpful! I didn't realize though that when getting tickets for behind the goal all the seating is open seating. You don't have an actual seat you just bran what you can. If I had known that we would have gotten to the stadium earlier. We were walking around the town thinking we had specific seats lol but hey no biggie just get their earlier if you want a closer seat.
Samuel C — Google review
Staff at the stadium were great and very patient with my limited Japanese. (Aus vs Jap football match) Stadium entry was well organised and signed. Walk from the station is over a kilometre which may be a problem for some people. If you aren’t willing to wait an hour in very crowded conditions to get a return train I recommend leaving early or having an alternative return option. Food available was awful. Deep fried chips had been chilled before serving and the chicken skewers were also cold/room temp. This is my third trip to Japan and this is the only bad food experience I have had.
Z A — Google review
Beautiful stadium, a multitude of food options, and an exceptional experience. I would give it 10 stars.
Joshua H — Google review
Saitama Stadium 2002 is a world-class venue! The seats are comfortable, and the view of the pitch is fantastic from every angle. The staff were friendly and organized, making the entire experience seamless and enjoyable.

Omiya Park

Mentioned on

Park
Nature & Parks
Omiya Park is a 68-hectare city park located approximately 1km from JR Omiya Station. It boasts a stunning Japanese Red Pine forest and is famous for its beautiful cherry blossoms in spring. The park, established in the 18th year of the Meiji era, features over 100-year-old red pine trees that create a striking contrast with the delicate pink cherry blossoms. Visitors can also explore a shrine and zoo within the park's vast grounds.
Absolutely stunning that such a quiet and serene place can exist in the midst of an extremely busy and bustling metropolitan setting. We experienced complete silence at times, other than sounds of birds and flowing water. Seemed to be visited mainly by local folks - did not appear to be a tourist's destination at all. Very well worth the visit!
Paul G — Google review
Totally polluted oil slick waters from nearly all waters here in park. The ones without oil, had a thick sludge of pond scum throughout the water. Poor birds and fish.
Pied P — Google review
It’s a very nice park to spend your time. I jogged around the park and enjoyed people watching. Lots of parents brought their children dressed in their best to the shrine. The pond is currently under maintenance- no water. There’s one thing that bothers me a lot- all the animals at the zoo looks so sad to the point I can feel their sadness and frustrations. 😥😥😥😭😭
Ojisan “ — Google review
Very good place for relaxing and having some picnics. But sometimes have big black bird that wants to eat your food so please be careful.
Nusaba S — Google review
Snaps from today (04/06) Bloom at its peak 🌸 Beautiful full bloom Sakura and lots of food stalls. We can have food and enjoy Hanami 🌸♥️
Reshma S — Google review
Went on 22Mar, Sakura was in full bloom and picnic is definitely the best way to enjoy the beauty. Crowd starts to come in from noon, by late evening it got really crowded. Bonus, there was a playground, free mini zoo and a small amusement park. It kept the kids occupied the whole day in the park.
Angel Y — Google review
An amazing open space park, located next to a lake and temple. Lots of open dirt areas to sit under the cherry blossoms in Spring, as per my photos. The paths were lined with lots of street food and festival games. The park can become extremely busy.
T A — Google review
Absolutely beautiful park with so much too see and do. You can just stroll through and read about the various trees or visit one of the many event spaces; including archery, cycling, soccer, baseball, etc. There's even a free zoo. I thoroughly enjoy Omiya Park and I think you will too.

It has welcomed renowned artists like Madonna, Lady Gaga, Green Day, and K-pop acts. The arena is also known for hosting sports events including basketball games and figure skating competitions. Additionally, it serves as the venue for the annual indoor antique fair featuring Japanese and Western antiques from the Kanto district.
Went to Anisama 2025 Day 1, amazing place although it got a bit hot in the end.
LegendaryBacc12 — Google review
I visited Saitama Super Arena for the Billie Eilish concert, and overall it was a fantastic experience. Getting there was extremely easy—the arena is directly connected to Saitama-Shintoshin Station, making the journey seamless and stress-free. From arrival to entry, everything about the crowd flow was smooth and well-organized, which made a huge difference given how many people were attending. My seat was in the upper seating area, and while the view was great, the seats themselves felt a little small and cramped, which might be something to consider if you’re planning a long event. The acoustics were not the absolute best, but still good enough to enjoy the performance without distraction. What really stood out were the visuals. The stage setup and lighting for Billie Eilish’s concert were incredible and made the whole experience unforgettable. Even from the upper level, the production quality truly shined. Saitama Super Arena is a great venue overall—easy access, smooth operations, and capable of hosting massive events like this one. A few comfort improvements could make it even better, but I would absolutely come back for another concert here.
Genta — Google review
Conveniently located by the train station with plenty of shops and restaurants nearby. Arena size is just right, seats are standard, and it’s easy to navigate inside. The highlight for me was the superb sound system which is one of the best I’ve experienced at a concert venue.
Yumi G — Google review
My first experience attending Ateez concert in Saitama Super Arena for 3 days in a row from 13-15th September 2025.
Marliana Y — Google review
Great place. Easy to get to, huge, organised. The main problem is the waiting time to get beer at a concert. 50 minutes!!!! That’s not the arena fault so still 5 star.
Shiki P — Google review
Foo Fighters from A section was amaizing. We entered a raffle and won free tickets to the added show. Standing floor which we crept into the isle and were center stage. Sound was great both nights.
Bryon G — Google review
Great venue for concerts, the sounds, lights and lazers were all amazing! Loved to see Linkin park back and Foo fighters in action there.
Kalpesh P — Google review
We came here for Viva La Rock music festival. It’s such a great space - right on the station, there’s convenience and chemist stores, and restaurants right next door under cover. The way they used the space for the music festival was so well done, two stages in the main area with video screens. There was seating as well as standing and mosh. There was chill out sections and food stands as well.

Keyaki Hiroba is a vibrant and modern outdoor plaza located adjacent to the Saitama Super Arena, often referred to as Sky Forest Plaza. This dynamic space hosts a variety of festivals, fairs, and cultural events throughout the year, making it a hub of activity. With its expansive courtyard and ample seating options like high tables and benches, it's perfect for enjoying food at events such as the Craft Gyoza Fes 2023.
If you like plazas. Then this one is one. I love going here for special events. It is particularly nice for outdoor drinking. You can even drink while watching the shinkansen roll by if you position yourself in the right spot near the Saitama Super Arena.
Adam S — Google review
I was at Keyaki Hiroba for the Craft Gyoza Fes 2023 a few weeks ago. I love that this place has a huge courtyard for these kind of events. There was also enough high tables for people to eat and some benchs nearby to sit. I was only at the event for less than an hour. But it was very well organized with nice staff and the Keyaki Hiroba was a great place for this event. Hopefully in the future I’ll have a chance to attend a show at the Saitama Super Arena.
Mar — Google review
The night illumination in winter is pretty and it is free. They hold a number of events here annually including the popular beer festivals. It is also one of the areas you can enjoy street performers at the annual street performance festivals in January. Clean and well kept. Close to Saitama Shintoshin station.
Lynda ( — Google review
A great space in the middle of saitama shintoshin station. There is convenient store nearby, but pretty crowded during event or festival times...

Tsukinomiya Shrine

Shinto shrine
Sights & Landmarks
Sacred & Religious Sites
Tsukinomiya Shrine is a serene Shinto sanctuary nestled in a charming garden, adorned with intricate stone rabbit carvings and a tranquil pond. Its proximity to the train station makes it easily accessible, and its distinctive bunny motif sets it apart from other shrines in Japan.
quiet shrine with a lot of rabbit sculptures. I loved it here and wish I could stay forever. I did get bit by mosquitoes though so beware of that haha 🤍🐇🐇🐇
Umabooma — Google review
Very pleasant shrine located not too far from the train station. The bunny motif certainly makes this unique among the many shrines throughout Japan. There is a small parking lot and a public toilet. I was pleasantly surprised by the rather large park area on the east side of the grounds.
Wolf M — Google review
Very cool and very large Shinto Shrine. There are many smaller ones here too. Many visitors. Shrine office here as well.
Daniel S — Google review
Shrine near Urawa Station. It's a little interesting for having no Torii and having bunnies around the shrine instead of the usual lion dogs. Be warned, this shrine is well known for refusing to give you a goshuin if your goshuin-cho is from a temple or contains temple stamps. Prepare a brand new goshuin-cho if you are interested in collecting their's.
Crimson — Google review
This shrine has lots of rabbits because it's named after the moon where rabbits are supposed to live.
星野浩 — Google review
Cool place for a break if you are nearby
Régis C — Google review
Don’t bother going to this shrine to collect their goshuin if you have a goshuincho from a temple or temple stamps in your book. They’re insanely strict and will straight up refuse to put their goshuin in your book. As far as I know this is the only place in japan with this policy. Cute place nonetheless.
Jacob N — Google review
It's an abnormal shrine, having rabbits opposed to a tauree gate, with absolutely lovely grounds. Is a great stop off the standard tourist path.

Sonic City is a comprehensive convention facility with large and small halls, international conference room, exhibition hall, citizens halls, and various conference rooms. It is conveniently located just three minutes away from JR and Tobu Urban Park Line Omiya Stations west entrance. The venue offers a Hall Members plan with many benefits for event organizers. Visitors can access the building from the 1st or 2nd floor and find English-speaking security guards.
I attended a fan meet in the large hall and it was great! The staff were very helpful, it was super organised and seating was very comfortable. It is also very close to Omiya station, so easily accessible.
Toinette M — Google review
I went to the Hiromi Uehara concert here and while she and the band were amazing, the venue was not. I found the audio to be not great, especially for the drums, including a very audible almost torn sounding speaker and clicks a couple of times..
Tavish N — Google review
Came here to visit a client for work. The entrance can be accessed from the 2st or 2nd floor. The security guards speak English a bit because to access floows above 14th floor you need to use elevators or go to the 2nd floor first. The restrooms are clean and alcohol sanitizer at the front entrance. I liked the structure of this building and very spacious.

Easily one of the best, if not the best, soccer stadiums in Japan! Tucked inside of the large and beautiful Omiya Park, this stadium has scenery like no other. The Ardija fans are awesome too! Lots of good food options and merch to buy. We are orange. We are Omiya! 🧡

May 27th, 2022 Today's match is Omiya Ardija vs The Spa Kusatsu. Ardija lost the first goal in 4 minutes from the beginning. July 3rd, 2021 I came here to see a soccer game with Omiya Ardija vs Yamagata Montedio.
星野浩 — Google review
One of Japan's best venues for watching a football match - a small, football-specific venue - with great local fans, the walk to which is a genuinely pleasant 20 minute amble through and around a shrine. Visited on a bitterly cold evening for a match, but warmed by the reception and the enthusiasm of the supporters.

A very big park where anyone can have a quiet and peaceful walk, take a dog for a walk, take kida to the playground, do some exercise or even go for a picnic. Honestly one of the most peaceful park. It has a nice pond where you can even do some fishing if you wanted to and a lot of benches and chairs where you can sit. There are also tables to use. There are a couple of things to see here like the pond, the Kaze no Kami statue and a small shrine.

Gorgeous park. Roses are impressive and even if you miss the main blooms in May-June, they’re still blooming right through November. The photos are from early November. Smell is amazing. Also lots of mature trees for shade, and wonderful autumn colors. The play equipment is a bit faded but perfectly fun enough. There’s a fountain and a koi pond, a small shrine and it’s a great place to take kids, have a picnic, jog, walk, meditate. Highly recommend.

This park is about 9 minutes on foot from yomo-Hommachi station. I was really happy to find this rose garden, it's a place for everyone-whether you're a rose lover or not, you will definitely love this place. The staff is known for their friendly and attentive service, making the overall experience pleasant. Additionally, the option to customize the pizza crust adds to the appeal of this establishment. (Translated by Google) I came here for the first time because I didn't know it was nearby. Since credit cards could not be used at the store, I ordered from my smartphone and had to wait at the store. Even though they were very busy on the day of the week and at the time of day, I was really impressed with how responsive the staff were! Even though they were very natural, I felt they were considerate and attentive, and I was able to take home a piping hot pizza with great emotion. Eggs ’n Things

$$$$affordable
Hawaiian restaurant
Restaurant
Eggs ’n Things is a popular restaurant known for its fantastic food and great service. The airy beachy ambiance adds to the dining experience, but be prepared to wait at least 15 minutes for a table, especially on weekends when the place is always packed. Reservations are not available for weekends, so arriving early and getting a ticket is recommended. The pineapple waffle and salmon avocado eggs benedict are highly recommended dishes.
Their potato, bacon, and cheese omelet was a hearty and comforting dish. The eggs were perfectly fluffy and wrapped around a generous filling of soft potatoes, smoky bacon, and melted cheese. The ketchup drizzle on top added a simple but nostalgic touch, balancing the richness with a hint of tanginess. Paired with their Kona coffee, the meal felt complete. The coffee was smooth with a clean finish, carrying a subtle sweetness that worked beautifully alongside the savory omelet😍

Good quality and service. No line at around 14:00 on weekdays. Weekday morning menu around 1,000¥ including a drink.

Eggs’n’Things is an all-day breakfast restaurant that was founded in 1974 in Hawaii. It creates a tropical and fun local Hawaiian vibe. We tried the Big Island Plate. It was huge. It looks smaller in the picture shown on the menu. We were pleased with our order and everything was great. However, we liked the grilled shrimps the best. They were sweet and very fresh. They were perfectly cooked. I would suggest the single fruit pancake for an additional ¥638 charge, so that you will most likely have tried many different things on the menu in a single visit. This is also good for your first visit.

Excellent place for brunch. This particular chain is always packed on the weekends. You can’t make reservations for the weekend so I would recommend coming early, getting a ticket and then doing a bit of shopping to kill the time. The eggs Benedict and omelette were amazing and very filling. The staff were kind and most spoke excellent English. Would recommend if you are in the area!

This restaurant is very popular and I understand why. The food was fantastic, the service was great, and I really liked the airy beachy feel of the place. I would anticipate waiting at least 15 minutes for a table. If your want to be seated as soon as possible when the restaurant first opens, then you may need to line up quite early. However, I would love to return and try more dishes from this place; the pineapple waffle and the salmon avocado eggs benedict I had were so good. This is a chain restaurant, so if you find yourself near another location of it go ahead and try it!

The atmosphere was very Hawaiian. The setup was very relaxing. Also, the staff wore Hawaiian print shirts. My friend that I went with is actually from Hawaii; and when we asked if they spoke English, the waiter brought an English menu & tried to speak English. They thanked my friend for coming all the way from Hawaii. Haha!

Fujidana Udon

Udon noodle restaurant
Restaurant
Fujidana Udon is a casual Japanese restaurant located in Saitama, known for its quick service and delicious udon noodles. Despite being modest in size, the restaurant attracts a large crowd, especially during peak hours. The menu features standard meat soup udon with generous toppings like meat, green onions, and fried tofu. Visitors often find themselves lining up to savor the excellent taste of udon at this popular spot.
Simply the amount of udon is pretty big. You must be hungry when you come there. It was rainy day and we wait inside the car, we have to see the stuff coming off restaurant. Just a little bit strong dashi would make you happy.i recommend you to come there with some friend to eat additional topping manu.

(Translated by Google) It's pronounced Fujidana Udon. It's lunchtime. The parking lot is full, but a skilled maintenance staff guides you in. There are many customers waiting outside, but with plenty of seats and staff, and a good turnover rate, you don't have to wait long to get in. You'll have to share a table, but there's enough space to make it not a problem. The staff inside the restaurant are also extremely efficient. They're also very friendly. The kitchen and cashier are very busy, but they're used to being busy, so they work evenly. Meat broth udon. Hot, sweet broth. The sweetness and umami of the meat and the sweetness of the green onions really stand out. The pork is delicious. The udon has a nice texture and goes down easily. I'd like to try their other menu items too. Thank you for the meal 😋 (Original)

I appreciate that the amount of dipping sauce changes depending on the amount of udon. The udon is chewy and has just the right amount of firmness. It also has a strong flavor. Musashino udon has an image of being very chewy, but it's not too strong and is easy to eat. And the dipping sauce is piping hot. The rising steam and the delicious aroma of the broth. I don’t normally post review but this one I really have to….ordered half-half chicken rice the other day, not only the portion of the chicken was shockingly small, but the fried chicken part they offered were basically the end of the fried chicken (15%meat, 85% fat), my first impression was that it sadly looks like the meal for my cat to be honest… I’m a big fan of Hainanese chicken rice and was looking forward to visiting, though it’s just very disappointing. Not sure is it just me being unlucky or what since the reviews of the restaurant seem okay, but I wouldn’t recommend anyone to come if you expect a good meal with worthy price.

The taste was good but cost performance was terrible! The prices are really high considering the small portions you get. I wasn't hungry anymore when I left but I was hungry again 2 hours later despite spending ¥2000 for lunch, which was just regular pasta that doesn't even use actual pasta noodles. The lunch soup was also just watered down instant corn soup. The staff were really uninterested with poor answers to our very few questions. I don't need very much customer service so the fact that my impression of them was so poor from such limited interaction really says something. Quite disappointed with this place because the ads all look so great. Even though the taste was good, it's definitely not worth the price.

Quite a long line today, despite it being 30 minutes before closing. Line moved relatively quickly. This place was too close to the station so parking was quite a nightmare, do not recommend driving there. I chose the thick soup version and it was really good. The noodles were perfect, while the soup was decent (not the best I’ve had but really good). I really liked it. There was fried onion on the table too so that added to the flavor as well. The 替玉 was quite necessary as the portion wasn’t too big. All in all, a really decent bowl of tori baitan ramen. I wish the bamboo would be bigger so it didn’t get lost in the soup though. But I would definitely come back for the noodles.

I ordered the jumbo cutlet curry, which is likely their signature dish, but only the plate was jumbo. 300g of rice is a regular portion, and the cutlet wasn't really large enough to be called jumbo. Narita City, home to the airport, is a hub connecting Tokyo with the world and offers attractions such as ancient temples and nearby historical towns. Narita International Airport truly lives up to Japan’s reputation for efficiency and hospitality. From the moment I arrived, the staff were polite, helpful, and always ready to assist. The entire airport is clean, well organized, and easy to navigate, even for first-time travelers. Security and immigration processes were handled smoothly, with clear signs in multiple languages guiding passengers every step of the way. The waiting lounges are comfortable, and the wide selection of shops and restaurants makes any layover enjoyable. What stood out most was the calm atmosphere and the thoughtful touches everywhere—from spotless restrooms to convenient charging stations and reliable free Wi-Fi. Transportation options to and from Tokyo are also very convenient, with express trains and airport buses that run on time. Overall, Narita Airport offers a world-class travel experience that reflects the warmth and precision of Japanese culture. I would gladly travel through Narita again.

Had a layover at Narita Airport, and the experience was smoother than I expected for such a busy international hub. One thing I really appreciated was not having to go through security again when transferring from one flight to another, which made the connection much less stressful. Maybe that’s more of a Japan airport standard, but either way, it made the layover feel a lot easier. The airport was very busy, but it still felt organized, with staff directing people efficiently. The ceilings throughout the terminal were noticeably low, and after a long international flight, it added a bit of a claustrophobic feeling as I moved through the corridors. Restrooms were extremely clean. It was much cleaner than most airports I’ve been to. I also liked the kiosks where you could ask questions in English, which were clearly marked and easy to find. Signage overall was solid, and even with the crowds, I didn’t have much trouble finding my connecting gate. The only downside is that gates seem to change frequently, so it’s important to keep an eye on the monitors. Seating areas were fine but filled up quickly due to the constant flow of passengers. Overall, Narita is busy and a bit tight in certain areas, but the efficiency and cleanliness make the layover experience manageable. Amazing airport. As a tourist, I found my experience here very well accommodated for. Staff were very hospitable and reliable. Airport is very easy to navigate with information desks scattered all over the terminals in multiple languages. There are convenient bus links right outside the arrivals gate that go to Tokyo station for a very affordable price. In addition, a 7eleven atm that is compatible with most western foreign master and visa cards to withdraw yen as cash. Lots of shopping options available for last minute gifts. Departing can be a bit tricky. There are 3 terminals and can ask the staff or read the electronic display to know which flight your flight is leaving from. Terminal 1 isn't attached to terminal 2 and 3, so consider coming 30min earlier in addition to the 3 hours in case your flight departs from terminal 1. Narita airport is very efficient and well thought out. Only recommendation would be more online resources available in multiple languages for foreign visitors to learn how the buses work before their travel as most bus workers weren't fluent in English when attempting to help. Highly recommend Visit Japan Web for foreigners to get the QR code for express entry. The government has been doing an amazing job helping as visitors feel welcome.

Narita Airport, officially known as Narita International Airport (NRT), is one of Japan’s busiest airports, located in Narita, Chiba Prefecture, about 60 kilometers (37 miles) northeast of central Tokyo. It serves as a major hub for international flights to and from Japan. Narita Airport has three terminals: 1. Terminal 1 • International Flights: Primarily for international carriers. • Facilities: It is the largest terminal and houses numerous amenities like shopping, dining, and duty-free stores. The terminal is divided into North Wing and South Wing and is home to major airlines like Japan Airlines (JAL) and All Nippon Airways (ANA), as well as other international airlines. • Transportation: You can easily reach the terminal from the airport’s train station, and there are numerous buses, taxis, and shuttle services that connect Terminal 1 with other parts of the airport and Tokyo. 2. Terminal 2 • International and Domestic Flights: This terminal serves both international and domestic flights, with a strong emphasis on international airlines, including Delta Air Lines, United Airlines, and Air Canada, as well as Japan’s ANA. • Facilities: Terminal 2 is known for its spacious layout and more relaxed atmosphere compared to Terminal 1. You’ll find an array of food and shopping options, as well as relaxation zones. • Transportation: Terminal 2 is also well connected by buses and trains. It’s often considered slightly less crowded than Terminal 1. 3. Terminal 3 • Low-Cost Carriers: Terminal 3 is dedicated to low-cost carriers (LCCs), such as Peach Aviation, Vanilla Air, and other regional airlines. It was built in 2015 to accommodate the growing demand from budget airlines flying into Japan. • Facilities: While Terminal 3 is smaller and more basic than the other two terminals, it offers essential services like food stalls, retail shops, and free Wi-Fi. Despite its simplicity, it has a modern design and efficient layout. • Transportation: There is a shuttle bus service that connects Terminal 3 with the other terminals and the rest of the airport. Connecting Between Terminals: The terminals are connected by free shuttle buses that run regularly, and you can also walk between Terminal 1 and Terminal 2 (about a 10-minute walk). However, if you’re flying internationally, you’ll likely need to go through security and customs when transferring between terminals.

📍 Haneda Airport 羽田空港 @ Japan 🇯🇵 Haneda Airport continues to impress me every time I travel through it. The entire airport is clean, modern, and very well-organised, making both arrival and departure smooth and stress-free. Many of the staff can speak English, and there are also Mandarin-speaking staff, which makes communication easy for international travellers. Everyone we met was polite, helpful, and attentive, always ready to guide passengers with clear instructions. The design and structure of the airport layout are thoughtfully planned — signage is clear, walkways are smooth, and the flow between immigration, baggage claim, and transport is very efficient. There are plenty of food options, convenience stores, and resting areas, making the airport comfortable even during longer waits. For travellers renting a car, the pickup process is straightforward with convenient access to major expressways. One improvement I would suggest is to bring in more last-minute shopping brands, especially for travellers who come for activities like hiking or sports. Having stores such as ABC-MART, outdoor gear shops, or basic hiking essentials would be very helpful and much appreciated by many travellers who need quick, last-minute purchases before heading out. Overall, Haneda Airport remains one of the best, most user-friendly airports in Asia — clean, efficient, easy to navigate, and supported by multilingual, friendly staff. A perfect airport experience from start to finish. ✈️🇯🇵✨

Food options are amazing, from Japanese meals to international choices. The service is fast, hygienic, and the ambience feels calm even during busy hours. Shopping areas are well-arranged, and duty-free is worth exploring. Navigation is simple thanks to clear signboards. Whether you’re arriving or departing, the process moves smoothly. Transport options like trains, buses, and taxis are right outside, making travel super convenient. The overall design and atmosphere are peaceful, with big windows offering beautiful views of the runway. It’s the kind of airport where you actually enjoy waiting. Highly recommended for a comfortable, safe, and world-class travel experience.

Haneda Airport is the closer and more convenient gateway into Tokyo, and it served us beautifully on our Oct/Nov 2025 trip. It’s easy to navigate, brimming with shops and restaurants, and wonderfully straightforward when it comes to taxis and rideshares. Our one curious observation came on departure day: you’re dropped off at the departures level… only to immediately queue for one of three elevators just to reach the second floor JAL check-in counters for luggage drop and boarding passes. A bit of a bottleneck in an otherwise well-oiled operation. Beyond that quirk, every staff member we encountered was gracious, helpful, and polished. The main terminal is vibrant and pleasant, and the JAL First Class Lounge is a world unto itself - spacious, serene, and generously stocked with meals, snacks, and drinks that could make you forget you’re in an airport at all. If you’re flying out of Haneda, I’d give yourself a comfortable three hours. That leaves you enough time to glide through check-in, handle security, and still wander the shops or enjoy one last proper Japanese meal before boarding your plane.

Haneda Airport is very beautiful and incredibly well-organised. There are plenty of food options and even designated smoking areas, which made the wait super comfortable. They also have limited-edition Haneda Airport Pikachu Pokémon in a vending machine, which was such a cute surprise! The staff were so accommodating - I couldn’t find the convenience store (jet lag + brain fog had me thinking I was on level 1 when I was actually on level 3 😅), and an officer not only gave directions but even walked me all the way there to make sure I got there safely. Amazing service!

Haneda Airport Terminal 1 is clean and easy to move through, with helpful staff and good services. It’s comfortable for travelers, but the facilities and shops in Terminal 2 are better and more modern. Still, T1 offers a smooth and pleasant airport experience.

The first time I went here was the first time I traveled abroad and I was amazed by how amazing it was. The airport is built out on sea and is crazily massive, the employees are helpful and enthusiastic, as expected of Japan. And the cleanliness, modern, and attention to the vulnerable people, all combined to make this a world class Airport.
