Chiba Port Tower

Mentioned on
8 lists
Observation deck
Sights & Landmarks
Chiba Port Tower, a 125-meter tall landmark built in 1986, is a must-visit destination in Chiba City, Chiba Prefecture. The tower features an observation platform that provides stunning panoramic views of the city skyline and Tokyo Bay. With its sleek appearance covered by approximately 5,600 one-way mirrors, visitors can enjoy breathtaking vistas from the observation room located 113 meters above the ground.
My first impression of Chiba Port Tower was that it seemed solitary and not particularly tall, but once I bought my ticket and reached the observation deck, I was amazed by the views. Unlike what I initially thought, it's not a conventional building but rather a tower with just four floors. The ground floor serves as the check-in area, the second floor houses the Lover's Sanctuary, the third floor features the Seagull Kitchen, and the fourth floor is the observation deck where you can take in panoramic views. It's fascinating that on clear days, you can even spot Mount Fuji from here, though it wasn't visible during my visit due to weather conditions. The Seagull Kitchen was closed during my daytime visit, as it only operates in the evening. I would have loved to dine at that height while enjoying views of the sea, park, and cityscape. The tower offers excellent views of major Tokyo landmarks, and it stands as a milestone marking Chiba's development. If you're in the Chiba area, I highly recommend visiting. With parks and museums nearby, you can easily spend half a day exploring this area.

Absolutely loved Bun Bun Japanese Crepe! The crepes were perfectly soft, light, and loaded with delicious fillings. Whether sweet or savory, every bite was full of flavor and made fresh with care. The presentation was super cute, and the staff was friendly too. A must-try if you’re craving something fun and satisfying in Japan!
Ismail G — Google review
Beautiful view of Chiba. I got lost and found the place by accident. Make sure you get your stamps and a couple of pressed coins. Definitely worth the trip for a nice drive out.
L.E. H — Google review
View is incredibly calm and relaxing, with a stunning sunset that’s perfect for unwinding. On clear days, you can even see Mount Fuji from the tower, which makes it even more special. The ticket price is reasonable and worth it for the experience. It’s an ideal day trip from Tokyo, and we truly enjoyed every moment. There’s also a stamp station where you can make a free memory of your visit—don’t forget to make your stamp!
Poornima J — Google review
I visited Chiba Port Tower by taking the Chiba Urban Monorail and getting off at Chiba-Minato Station. From there, it was about a 10-minute walk to the tower. The area is quiet and scenic, and not too crowded. This is definitely one of the best towers I’ve visited in Japan. On clear days, you can enjoy the amazing views of Mt. Fuji and Tokyo Skytree from the 4th-floor observation deck. The entrance ticket costs 420 yen for adults. Please note that the new 5000 yen note doesn’t work in the self-ticket machine, but you can buy tickets at the counter. On the 3rd floor, there’s a nice cafe. The 1st floor has a souvenir shop (with a supermarket corner too) and a play area for kids. I especially recommend the soft, creamy ice cream sold at the shop..it was really delicious! There’s also a park nearby with access to the beach, which makes it a perfect spot for families and couples. Highly recommended for a relaxing and scenic half day trip.
Hasini — Google review
The views are great. You can see Mount Fuji on clear days, and the Tokyo skyline is almost always visible. The staff are very kind, too. And there's a convenience store on the ground floor. It's also nice to walk around the park near the tower
Chris — Google review
This was a nice tower view that’s high enough even on a cloudy day you can see Sky Tree in Tokyo. The price to get in is cheap around 400 yen. There are binoculars & a few photo spots in the tower. On the third floor there’s a restaurant. I think it’s pretty kid/baby friendly & not so crowded even on the weekends.
Craig N — Google review
TIPS: Buy your love lock at the souvenir/grocery store on the first floor. That way you don't have to go up and down the elevator! Have cash or a suica card since the ticket machine did not accept credit card. This would be an amazing place to capture a sunset. Come here before it gets overrun by tourists. It was decently empty on a Sunday. I had the place to myself at times. There are 4 floors to this place. First floor is essentially where you buy your ticket and souvenirs. The milk ice cream was good and only 300 yen! 2nd floor has a love lock and love theme stuff. It has two fortune telling machines. 3rd floor is a restaurant. 4th floor is the place to look at the views. The entrance is not the reflective part of the building. No need to climb the stairs. The entrance is the "hill" that the building is on the top off and to the side of the stairs.

Chiba Zoological Park is a delightful destination for animal lovers and families alike, nestled in the lush greenery of Chiba. This expansive park features seven distinct zones, each offering a unique glimpse into the lives of various species, including playful sloths and adorable red pandas. Visitors can easily navigate through the park with helpful maps available at the entrance. The diverse array of animals includes otters, kangaroos, lions, zebras, and even elephants—each appearing lively and well-cared-for.
Nice zoo! Plenty of space and super cute animals. Great for everyone—whether you're coming with family, as a couple, or even solo.
Nunan H — Google review
The zoo is huge and has many different animals to look at! It was pretty empty, but it‘s definitely made more for children. I went to the restaurant and had to wait a really long time for my food sadly; therefor the 4 stars. The ramen was tasty though.
Marc H — Google review
If you want time sepend with your family please visit this Chiba zoological park and for wildlife photography person also recommend this place
Ghising — Google review
Went during Sunday good weather... Alot of food cart open and long queue, food is amazing and unexpectedly good. Also alot of family day there.. bring your own floor mat so U don't have to find table to eat, place were big and spacious event if it's crowded is still big enough for us tourist.
Alysha R — Google review
Went on a Sunday and it wasn't that busy. If you have a stroller, I suggest you plan your route to the petting zoo carefully because it can be quite steep to go from there to the other enclosures. There are plenty of places to sit and have a picnic. We ate at the cafe. The food tasted much better than I expected. If you plan to go on a public holiday it might be better to bring a pack lunch.
Dee J — Google review
Super value for money, nice parkland plenty of animals. Off the beaten track for a fun day out.
Peter A — Google review
We visited it on a Sunday morning. There were many families visiting it with their young kids, but there was no wait to enter the park. You buy the tickets at the ticketing booth or machines at the entrance. The machine also has English. Tickets cost ¥700 for adults (high school or above) and are free otherwise. There were many animals to visit, mainly small animals (e.g. lemurs, red pandas, meerkats) with some larger animals (e.g. lions, sea lions, ostrich). There are not that many animals to see, but they were mostly in nice and spacious living areas, so it was nice to see that the animals appear to be treated well. The paths are mostly quite sunny, but with ample shade (from trees) along most of them. There are also many souvenir shops, restaurants, and clean toilets around the park. There is also a fountain/water playing area for children in the center. Overall, a very nice and comfortable park to visit for 2-3 hours. It is definitely targeting young children/families more than adults, but it is still a great experience for anyone looking to see animals and relax.
Wing L — Google review
Great experience, worth visiting! Most animals are visible, food, drinks and toilet is accessible 😺 I love that every animal was visible, especially the lion and cheetah! Zoo was organized start to end, thank you! ✨😻

Makuhari Messe

Mentioned on
7 lists
Event venue
Conference center
Situated in Chiba City, Chiba Prefecture, Makuhari Messe stands as one of Japan's most expansive convention centers. This venue is celebrated for its capacity to host a diverse range of events, exhibitions, and concerts. Its adaptable spaces can accommodate gatherings ranging from 9,000 attendees to over 200,000 for exceptional occasions like the performance by rock band Glay in 1999.
Great place for exhibition. It was Tokyo Auto Salon 2025. Very wonderful event in Makuhari Messe. It us easy to get their by metro (local train). Easy to find the place
Victor — Google review
This was my first time at Makuhari Messe and already planning my second trip because Star Wars Celebration is about to blow this place up like the Death Star (but, you know, more family-friendly). Drove over 2 hours to get here and surprisingly didn’t have to engage in a Tokyo Drift-style battle for parking. There’s actually plenty of it. Props for that. Once inside, I quickly learned this is the perfect venue if you forgot your Fitbit steps for the day. Halls 1 through 9? Yeah, you’ll get your cardio in. Might even evolve into your final Pokémon form before reaching Hall 9. There are bathrooms everywhere (seriously, you could probably do a bathroom crawl), vending machines every few steps, and even resting zones when your legs give out from the trek. Family Mart locations pop up like secret save points in a video game—snacks, drinks, even onigiri to fuel your journey. Business centers are clutch too—lockers to stash your haul, charging stations for your dying phone (which will be crying after taking 1,000 Star Wars selfies), and seating areas if you need to pretend to be productive. Overall? 11/10. Bring your walking shoes, your lightsaber, and maybe an extra phone battery. You’re gonna need all three.

Hosted Star Wars celebration and with it being my first time attending Japan did it very well, definitely enjoyed the venues here and seeing all the different cosplayers!

A very big convention hall that can accommodate many people and attractions. I went there for the Hololive 25 Expo and it was a good experience.
SirRu248 — Google review
Many events take place here. Somewhat similar to the Big Sight in Tokyo. Some of the 2020 Olympic events took place here and there's a small monument inside featuring Japanese gold winners and two mascots.
Chandima U — Google review
Long lines during SWCJ 2025 were expected but I guess the force is strong with everyone for all 3 days 😊
Sunshine G — Google review
Very nice hall for shows. I attended the Summer Sonic Festival there this last year and now the Tokyo Auto Salon. Both were very well organized and the venue is easily accessible by train and the inside is very clean. It is about a two hour train from where I live but it is worth the trip.

Chiba Shrine Myōken Hongū

Chiba Shrine, also known as Myōken Hongū, is a serene and stunning Shinto site located in Tokyo. The intricate wood carvings and statues set amidst the garden grounds are truly captivating, with vivid orange and gold detailing that cannot be missed. This favorite shrine photo among Japanese locals boasts a peaceful vibe that is sure to attract visitors seeking tranquility.
The shrine and also Chiba itself doesn’t get many tourists. But that doesn’t mean it isn’t beautiful. I’ve visited many shrines in this country so far and this is still my favorite. It’s a small shrine and I happened to visit when it was raining, but it was one of the most serene experiences I’ve ever had and it was on my first day in this country. It really set the tone for the rest of my vacation. Only locals come here and in small number so you really can just soak in the tranquility of this place. I’d love to see it in the spring or winter.
Freddie M — Google review
Beautiful place was my first time visiting a shrine and the priestess there teached me how to pay my respect to the gods. Was a great experience and perfect place to meditate. They also have a store where you can buy your lucky charms( I believe the only take cash) definitely is must visit if you are in Chiba. Also, remember to respect the areas that say do not take pictures or video.
Rosa G — Google review
Nice shrine in Chiba. They are restoring some of the temple so some construction work going on. But can still get your book signed and your fortunes.
Amish P — Google review
This was such a beautiful and peaceful shrine. It’s small so not a lot of walking. There are several small good luck items you can buy too. There is a restroom and plenty of paid parking near by.
Liz W — Google review
Very nice spot in middle of the city: the temples are many, but not too much.
Tecla V — Google review
Stunning shrine with a beautiful small garden area with a bridge over the pond. Unfortunately, some construction work was happening when i visited, but it didn't detract from the beauty of it. Well worth the visit if you're in the area.

National Museum of Japanese History

Museums
The National Museum of Japanese History, located in Sakura City, Chiba Prefecture, is a comprehensive museum that showcases the rich history and culture of Japan. It features themed botanical gardens, a restaurant, and a shop for visitors to enjoy. The museum also houses an inter-university research institute open to faculty, graduate students, and researchers from various agencies.
This museum provides an insightful overview of Japanese history and culture through clear, easy-to-understand panels and models. Many areas allow photography, so you can take pictures of the Japanese captions with your smartphone and use a translation app to grasp the general content. One of the standout features is the number of original artifacts on display, more than what you'd typically find at other museums. During my visit, there was a special exhibition titled The Future of History: Preserving the Past through People, Objects, and Data, which was unique for a history museum in that it focused on archives. The captions were a bit long, but it was clear that the curator was passionate about the subject. The exhibition helped me understand how historical events are documented, verified, and preserved through everyday stories and objects.
Bird D — Google review
A great place to get to know and appreciate Japanese history. While most of the written explanations are in Japaneaw, visitors can download an app to listen to English audio guide for the items in the museum. The dioramas that depict various events are awesome. They really pay attention to the details. They bring to mind imaginations on life in the past. The entrance is a short hike from the main street. I would recommend to have luggages deposit e.g. at coin lockers at keisei sakura for those who walk to the museum. For my case, the museum staff helped us depositing our luggages in the museum upon entry.
V L — Google review
Beautiful museum, if you want to be adventurous you can try squatting toilets there but they have regular toilets too. Incredibly nice staff, they have school experience there, lady there was super nice and explained for us how school used to look. You can also try calligraphy there.
Aleksandra W — Google review
What an incredible museum. Extensively covers the rich history of Japan with some truly amazing displays. The dioramas are a sight to behold. Cheap entry price too. Check it out!!
Robert “ — Google review
This museum goes into depth of all the history of Japan. From how it was inhabited by humans, to modern day. As a history fan, this was by far the best museum throughout my entire trip. It's so huge, you will be there from open to vlose. It also has audio in multiple languages, so definitely bring headphones. And it has great souvenirs and a cafe. Also it's wasn't packed, so you can go at your own pace to learn and absorb the history.
DeChe E — Google review
The museum contains six galleries. Each of the gallery features different periods of time from ancient to the contemporary era. Visitors will have a comprehensive impression of Japanese history. Apart from this, Chiba university students including high school students or junior enjoy free entry tickets here. Where other adults have to pay 600 yen of entry fee. Additionally I want to share that there are a lot of parking space for the visitors.
Samimuzzaman — Google review
Detailed and expansive museum of Japanese History, beginning thousands of years ago and running up to about 1980. Can be enjoyed by non-Japanese, but seems to be directed mainly at a domestic audience. I was there on a Wednesday in October 2025 and I didn’t see any non-Japanese visitors - I was the only one! Lots of school groups fill up the place. Limited English documentation but it was good enough, although I already have a pretty good knowledge of Japanese history. The exhibits are numerous and well organized, it’s a very interesting museum in this small town not that far from Narita Airport. If fate finds you here, it’s not a bad choice at all to spend 2-3 hours. There are other local attractions that could even fill out a whole day.
90293Mike — Google review
Really good museum. The kimono special exhibit was great too. Easily 2-4 hours, if you enjoy looking through all the exhibits. Plus there's a garden,Park, and sakura castle ruins right next door.

Stadium
Sights & Landmarks
The ZOZO Marine Stadium is an impressive baseball stadium with a range of seating options to suit different budgets. The staff are friendly and accommodating, allowing patrons to bring in their own food and drinks (in plastic cups). Those who prefer beer can buy it from the girls selling it out of kegs strapped to their backs. The stadium is situated next to a beautiful beach where Tokyo Bay can be viewed before settling down for a game.
Exceptional game at a beautiful stadium that is located right on the water. The area is so clean and all is organized really well. The game last Monday was fun to watch, even though the stadium is a bit far from the train station. Plenty of restaurants nearby to go to before or after the game. Would recommend anyone to go!

Great place. Went here for summer sonic and the staff were well prepared. It was HOT and I almost fainted, but they took me to a recovery room and made sure I was okay. There were lots of people like me recovering from the heat in there! The stage is well set up, and there are lots of food options.

Great stadium, great fans and vibe. We went on a weekday and could walkup to buy tickets, they sign you up for a free membership. Mitsui Outlet Park Makuhari

Mentioned on

Outlet mall
Shopping mall
Mitsui Outlet Park Makuhari is a premium outlet mall conveniently located near Tokyo, offering around 140 outlet stores with brands like Onitsuka Tiger, Kate Spade New York, and Matsumoto Kiyoshi. The mall is easily accessible from Kaihimmakuhari Station and features a foreign currency exchange machine for convenience. With its spacious layout connected through walkways and bridges, the shopping experience here provides a welcome contrast to the bustling Tokyo streets.
This is one of the best outlets near Tokyo, offering products at relatively cheaper prices compared to other main stores. For a complete experience, it's recommended to visit in the morning and enjoy lunch at the food court. The Mexican food, in particular, is fantastic. Popular stores like North Face and Banana Republic often have great offers here, making it a shopper’s delight. In the evening, you can visit the nearby beach, where you might even spot fish jumping from the ocean, resembling dolphins. It’s a great destination for both shopping and relaxation.

Very cheap and economical prices. You cannot believe sone prices if you are coming from Türkiye

Pretty solid outlet mall with a good mix of international and Japanese brands. The place is spacious and easy to walk around, and it never feels too crowded. Prices are decent if you’re looking for deals, and there are plenty of food options to take a break in between shopping. Super convenient too since it’s just a short walk from the train station.
Val T — Google review
A nice outlet with a big variety of shops. And many great deals. We went there from 17-20, and there was almost empty, but the lady in taxfree said there could be pretty crowded. We took the bus to Tokyo station, and it was really comfy and cheap. (1400 yen) A big shoutout to the lady in Taxfree, who kept open for me even though i came a couple of minutes after they had closed. 🙏🏻 Arigato Gozaimasu

A large outlet mall with many of the sport brand stores. We were disappointed that we did not see the Nike store. We found the prices weren’t that cheap. The mall is close to the Minami Osawa traun station.
Melanie E — Google review
Very nice place to buy branded clothes and spend some time shopping. It is also close to Tokyo and is accessible by train. The outlet park is divided into 4 parts; A-side, B-side, C-side, and D-side. There is a lot of parking space for cars, and you can get a few hours of free parking if you shop at the outlet park.
Arseni I — Google review
Decent Mitsui Outlet, but I have been to much better Mitsui Outlet malls. There are some good stores and good prices on products. The area is mega mall shopping area with AEON and Costco near. The Yokohama Mitsui Outlet Mall is gigantic and excellent.
B L — Google review
It’s not a very large outlet, also not many on sale in mid of Oct, no coupon from reception and not map provided. A bit disappointed so many shop without tax free ☹️, I guess around half shop a not provided tax free service. Clarks without tax free ☹️ Edwin with tax free and the staff are so nice👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻 T-fal the product price more expensive than Amazon 🫣 The location is good, it is near the JR station, around one hour traffic from Tokyo center, after finished outlet, you can take 1 JR station to the AEON mall, it has 4 building for shopping. It can spend whole day for shopping.

AEON MALL Makuhari New City

Shopping mall
Shopping
Nestled along the picturesque Chiba bayshore, AEON MALL Makuhari New City opened its doors in late 2013 and has since become a shopping paradise for locals and tourists alike. This expansive complex boasts over 350 shops spread across four interconnected zones: the Grand Mall, Family Mall, Pet Mall, and Active Mall. Each area offers a unique experience—from dining options at the food court to entertainment like a multiplex cinema and an arcade.
The AEON MALL Makuhari New City is very big and diverse, it has 4 buildings connected to each other with all kinds of shops you could imagine. Starting from the JR Makuhari Toyosuna Station, is the ‘Ekimae Mall’ which on the ground floor has Daiso/Standard Products/Threeppy at one end and the Kaldi Coffee Farm/Uniqlo/AEON STYLE food store at the other end. On its 2nd floor are kind of a mix between fashion and kids/family store. On the 3rd floor is a good food court and a sky park to enjoy the outdoor weather. There is also the ‘Active Mall’ with sport shops, outdoor shops, etc. Then the middle mall is ‘Pet Mall’ with walk way connection to the Ekimae Mall and the Grand Mall on the 2nd floor. There are pet-related shops with superb selection of products. You can also buy pets here as well, the puppies at the pet shop are very very cute and purebred. The biggest mall of them all would be ‘Grand Mall’ with almost every kinds of shops you can think of. On the 3rd floor, there are many toy/characters shop, even Ghibli shop! which I love very much. At the other end, on ground floor, there is a decent food space with microwave and hand-wash basin that you can use if you buy packaged food/takeaway, which is very nice and thoughtful.

Huge mall with plenty of shops, restaurants, and entertainment options. Very clean and spacious, easy to walk around. Great place to spend a few hours shopping or just relaxing. Convenient access from the station and lots of parking available.

Aeon has everything and this one has 5 floors and extra buildings. Spend 3-4 hrs here if you want to shop for very reasonable priced goods. The food court and other dining options is just too much to mention! Accessible from Chiba Station, Aeon is a great way to shop, especially when the weather outside is less than ideal!
Kimi L — Google review
A massive shopping mall that is within walking distance to makuhari train station. You can easily spend an entire day and longer here. You will find specialty grocery stores to sports wear. A perfect place to spend a rainy day. The mall is located across the street from Costco.
Melanie E — Google review
One stop shop here. You could literally do all of your shopping here. It’s really convenient. The large luggage lockers for your suitcase is located near Standard Products / Daiso.
K H — Google review
It probably is the biggest mall I have been to because it spans over several buildings. The place is gigantic and pretty much has everything. Good place to shop, eat, and escape the heat/rain/cold. The area is mega mall central with AEON, Costco, Mitsui Outlet Mall, etc.
B L — Google review
This is perhaps Asia's largest mall, measuring 2 kilometers in length (separate buildings are connected by sky bridges). There is simply no way I could shop this entire mall in a day unless I were just walking through from end to end, but then of course I would become enticed to stop and visit this shop and that shop. At least we got to eat a very nice lunch here and walk through a portion of the mall. This is one of Chiba Prefecture's shining stars, and I understand that people drive from all over the region to shop here. I would. In our case, we bicycled here. I'll be back. I haven't even come close to seeing the whole mall.

We went to Family Mall. This was taken on the late night just after it closed. It is the best mall that I ever come during in Chiba area. Start from the front gate, a lot of baby stroller with many cute characters. On the first floor they have groceries that has smart shopping trolley which can scanning your grocery by yourself. But I didn't try it yet, so can not describe more about it. Then on the 3rd Floor there is restaurant family friendly close to playground. It was designed very cute to attract many kids to come to that area. And has free playground for children up to 3 years old which has simple but nice design. Have some embedded toys for motorics activity. Outside they have open garden with man-made hill which usually used by kids during the day. Basically this mall is convenient when coming with family. For Muslim, they have prayer room that can be accessed by calling the intercom outside and just said that you want to pray. Then just below prayer room, they provide Muslim friendly salon. So for ladies, you can cut your hair here without worried to be seen by man staff or visitor.

Chiba Park

Park
Nature & Parks
Chiba Park offers a vast expanse of greenery adorned with springtime cherry blossoms and tranquil lotus ponds. Its facilities cater to both leisure and sports enthusiasts, including boat rides, fitness corners featuring pull-up bars and parallel dip bars for exercises, as well as a velodrome and softball stadium located further north in the park. The generously spaced area is ideal for picnics with family or small gatherings with friends amidst the trees.
I just can feel how special this park is going to be in the sakura season. Even though i went in the Autumn season and the trees were shadding leaves i just couldn't imagine how beautiful it would have looked if thesre was cherry blossom 🌸 all around the park. Chiba monorail is itself a touristic attraction of the city and links various places within the city and is easily assessable through the Monorail. Not only that but the view of the monorail when it passes through the park is also amazing. This is really a big space and i saw people of all age group enjoying. There is room fore everyone. I wish to visit the park when the sakura blossom and see cature the beatifulness of the park. Don't forget there is pond and lotus 🪷 blossom too! There is shrine too just beside park and also the big halls where many event is being organized. If you can just go with someone with the intention of spending some time in this beautiful surrounding. When i visited there were a lot of construction inside the park itself so its only a going to get from here. Also, the park is dog friendly and there are cafes even Starbuck in the vicinity so don't get worried about anything. Get that icecream near the pond thats my recommendation.

We visited on March 17, 2025, and the sakura trees here were in full bloom. There aren’t very many. Perhaps just 4 or 5 trees. But there are two together on the west side of the lake that are especially beautiful. There are also some camellia and other flowers in the park. We also saw some beautiful birds, including a heron. There is currently some construction going on in the park, but the walking path around the lake is unaffected, so it’s still a nice place to go and enjoy the spring weather and see the monorail passing by.

A serene park in Chiba Prefecture where you’ll be in peace with nature. A vast area with abundant greenery and a large lake with lots of wild ducks and birds playfully swimming and chirping! There are playgrounds, pavilions, picnic areas and restrooms are well located. There’s a vintage train on display but kids often climb over and spoiled the spot. A small number of cherry blossom trees but unfortunately has not in full blossom when we were there. The park is accessible via monorail and stop at Chibakoen Station.

Best park for a chill day. There's a Starbucks and a cute local Café inside the park, which is really nice to grab some nice coffee and snacks when chilling at the park ♡

Chiba Park is a true gem, especially if you're a fan of lotus flowers! While the park offers various attractions, the Oga Lotus is the main attraction! Visiting in late June to early July is absolutely essential to witness these ancient and beautiful blossoms in their full glory. It's truly a magical experience to see hundreds of the large, pale pink flowers swaying gently in the morning breeze. What makes the Oga Lotus so special is its incredible history – these flowers are said to have bloomed from seeds excavated from a 2,000-year-old stratum! It's like stepping back in time. I highly recommend going early in the morning, as the lotus flowers are at their best then, slowly closing up as the day progresses. The dedicated lotus pond area, complete with the Lotus Pavilion, provides fantastic views and offers a serene atmosphere perfect for reflection and photography. Chiba Park's lotus display is not just a beautiful sight; it's a profound connection to history and nature. A must-visit for anyone in the Chiba area during the summer!

Great local park with plenty of benches and trials to run. There are boat rentals for the pond, vending machines, and a cafe nearby. This park features a small waterfall and wisteria garden/overhang. The Lily pad/lotus flowers aren't in season yet. I was able to Google translate many of the signs and luckily the sign about the history of this park has English. The monorail is close by. It would be about a 20 minute walk from Chiba station.

beautiful!! a book and picnic would be amazing (i would have, but it rained shortly after🥹)
Riona S — Google review
The first time she expressed her interest in the beauty of nature, was here. Inspiring, considering that the fall foliage was a transitioning mess, the lotus was going into hibernation, and the gloomy sky was painted from a gray palette. A nice place to hang out after rain. No law-breaking activities, such as smoking, took place during our visit

Museums
The Hoki Museum, located in Chiba Prefecture, is a modern and stylish museum dedicated to Realist art. It was established in 2010 and is the first of its kind in Japan. The museum features a remarkable collection of nearly 500 Japanese realist paintings displayed in long, gallery-style corridors. The building itself has won awards for its design and houses around 300 works by approximately 40 painters, showcasing both great masters and young artists.
Beautiful artworks inside. Aircond was awesome. The height of the ceiling was great. The long slow walks I took as I enjoyed each artwork was very therapeutic. I wasn't sure what I'm looking at but the ones with scenery was amazing. There's a small cafe tucked inside there for some refreshments. Great glass placement for viewing. Exterior architectural is really nice.

Interesting museum out in the suburbs of Chiba next to a large park. Mostly portrait paintings with some still life, and landscapes. Limited amount of artwork but what they have is displayed very well. The building's architecture is almost as interesting as the art. Nice little cafe on the lower level with small sandwiches and dessert. Very appealing looking more formal Italian restaurant at the front entrance, but advance reservations are required and we didn't make one.
Nick C — Google review
I loved the modern architecture and interior of the museum. The location is 30 mins from the location by walk so I recommend you should use the public transportation like bus or taxi. There is also a small cafe, goods store and popular restaurant.

Beautiful small museum with a great collection of (almost only) Japanese hyper realist paintings. The building is very well designed, in and out, and the browsing of the art pieces exhibited is very well done with its curved corridor-like rooms. Special mention for the black under-stairs space in the lower floor.

What an amazing, awe inspiring museum. You will not believe the quality of the paintings. To see a whole museum dedicated to Realism made me appreciate the artists’ technical abilities and dedication. Highly recommended.

Indian restaurant
Nestled in a cozy corner, Indian Restaurant Sitar offers an inviting escape into the vibrant world of Indian cuisine. As you step inside, you're greeted by a warm atmosphere adorned with colorful decor and heavy wooden tables that exude charm. The restaurant is run by a Japanese owner who has successfully created an authentic Indian dining experience, complete with staff dressed in traditional attire. The menu features delightful set options showcasing curries, rice, and chutneys from various regions of India.
Dishes here are veryyy yammiii! Tandoori Barbecue and Rogan josh are the top favorites from the menu list. They offer some kind of pickle here, they are just amazing and so delicious. There hospitality is unforgettable. All the staffs wear very colorful Indian dress that’ll make you feel out of Japan for the time you are in there. Besides these, the interior design inside is so colorful and aesthetic. The time I was in was worth spending.
Samimuzzaman — Google review
The food itself is good enough, but it doesn't cut it when you wait over an hour and pay almost double than normal. They give you a little "lottery ticket" for waiting so long. We got either a piece of candy or 50 yen off, which is borderline offensive when we ended up paying ¥3000 each. You cannot choose how spicy your curry is, and the sets are very limited in curry variety. You cannot change anything not even for a separate fee. The butter chicken curry should be renamed cream chicken and it was too heavy. The spinach + cheese curry was really nice though. The sitting tables were cramped and the servers had communication issues as well. They left the water pitcher on the table, that was nice. The waiters asked us where we were from, which I found inappropriate. Maybe I was annoyed after waiting so long for expensive "ok" food. If prices were closer to the norm and there wasn't a long wait, then maybe I'd give them 3.5/5 stars. I don't see the hype, and we're not coming back.
ピピ — Google review
I love their interior. They gave a lot effort to make it a proper India! We found a Kashmiri Achar (sweet pickle) on the table which was mouth watering! Set menus were average. I recommend to taste the Kabab set which comes with chicken and fish tanduri style kabab with salad. That was ichiban Oishiiiiii! 😋 They will serve a complementary desert which is too light and delicious too!
Afsana B — Google review
Overrated to be honest. I knew about this place from a friend telling me it was popular in the area. We got there and waited about an hour. When we finally got to see the menu, we realize you can’t choose the spicy level for certain curry. Everything is decided for you. So if you like Keema but can’t handle really spicy, then you are in trouble. The inflexibility of the menu was a huge disappointment for me. The taste was good but not as hyped as other people said. Also more expensive than it deserves to be. I think the problem of this place is that it brands itself as an authentic Indian restaurant but it’s just a facade. I prefer to stick to my cheap Nepalese alternatives which offer more flexibility.
Gustavo G — Google review
Amazing hospitality! They really have very good interiors too. Feels like authentic indian restaurant. However food itself is Japanised. Some of the items are good with authentic test though. Very few options for vegetarians. Despite all, I would highly recommend to visit this restaurant for great ambience, super awesome Chai and overall experience.
Harshad B — Google review
Overrated, very expensive for an average curry taste. Unlike most Indian restaurants you cannot choose spicyness for each curry, don't get at least 1 complimentary nan with the set, and they are not flexible with what curries you can order with thesl set. Had to wait for over an hour, most part outside under the sun, don't get why this place is so popular.
Nicolás S — Google review
My mother in law took me to the restaurant for celebrating my birthday. The staff was very polite and food was equally good, less spicy than usual Indian food, probably catered with local audience in mind. The ambience inside is very nice.

The teppanyaki restaurant Takedaya offers a delectable dining experience with its exquisite, flavorful dishes. The oysters are particularly outstanding, enhanced by the extra seasoning and expertly cooked over an open flame. Even the fatty sirloin is surprisingly light on the palate, thanks to its smooth texture. The fins of the fish are also a delight to savor. Additionally, their mashed potatoes are consistently delicious and loved by many women.
Excellent service all around, especially from the charming waitress who spoke fluent english. Fast but not rushing [you to leave]. The A4 wagyu sirloin was great, and I particularly liked the potato side, the hot mussel+whitefish+baby mushroom dish and the cream of corn soup.

(Translated by Google) I made a reservation for lunch on a Saturday. I visited just before Christmas, so the menu was different from my usual menu, and I think the prices were a little high. When making a reservation, I was asked if I wanted to sit at a table or at the counter, and I asked for the counter. At Teppanyaki restaurants, it's best to have counter seats where you can watch the food being prepared right in front of you. I ordered a 150g fillet steak course. Anyway, the meat is soft and delicious - it's a very satisfying taste. For an additional 500 yen, change the rice to garlic rice. I asked for a cup of beads and the bill for two people was about 13,000 yen. It may be lunch time, but there may not be many restaurants where you can eat such delicious steak at this price during the Christmas season. The atmosphere inside the store is also very nice. There is no parking lot, but we used the coin parking lot next door. Repeat is confirmed. I look forward to hearing from you again. Eating in a private room allowed me to enjoy my meal in a calm atmosphere without worrying about my surroundings. The quiet and elegant space creates a special time. What impressed me most was the fillet. It was surprisingly soft, and the flavor was exceptional, with each bite bursting with flavor. What was even more impressive was the customer service from the store staff. Sky Cruise Makuhari offers a nice lunch buffet with a great view of the Boso Peninsula, blue sky, and sea. The restaurant is child-friendly and has a family-restaurant style drink bar. It's recommended for enjoying both day and night views while savoring French course dinner. The staff is polite and diligent in keeping the buffet area clean and dishes topped up. Although prices are high, it's a wonderful place for anniversaries or dates due to its nice atmosphere.
💛 Great food and great view. Husband and I had a lovely dinner date here.

Nice lunch buffet, nice view, nice price and nice staff. Just plain ol nice. You can reserve or just walk in which is nice. The food was really good, especially the chicken or the pork belly with cilantro. All of the dishes were kept topped up and the buffet area was kept clean by the polite and diligent staff. If I’m honest the food was good but there wasn’t any particular dish dragging me back for another round. The drink bar was family-restaurant style and the restaurant is very child-friendly. There are so many choices in the area for good food, and I recommend this place for family birthdays or catching up with friends after a while. It’s really nice but not super special (except for the view). I’ll definitely bring my children here in the future. The lunch doesn’t seem like a good date spot, but the dinner might be more romantic. The price-point was spot on for what you get at ¥5000-ish for two adults. If you really want a special lunch buffet experience I still highly recommend The New York Grill in Shinjuku Park Hyatt.

While not all dishes are vegetarian and some contain fish, seafood, or meat, the quality of the tofu is exceptional and far surpasses what you can find in supermarkets.

If you love tofu, this is the place. Ume-no-Hana offers tofu kaiseki (course meals) for reasonable prices. I had the Irodori Course for lunch (¥2,800) that comes with 13 dishes from appetizer to dessert. Not all dishes are tofu, and certainly not vegetarian, as some have fish, seafood or even meat - check the menu first. But the tofu is delicious, nothing like the ones sold at supermarkets, and comes in various forms: raw, deep-fried, grilled etc. The restaurant is big and has many ambients - some tables have view to a nice Japanese garden. (Translated by Google) I visited the plum blossoms with my colleagues. I've used it several times, and the atmosphere, the pleasantness of the staff, and the quality of the food are all at a level that I can trust, and no matter who I bring, everyone will be very satisfied😊!! ️ I think it's a good restaurant for ceremonial occasions and entertainment. This time, I ordered a 6,600 yen course that changes seasonally once every two months, plus an all-you-can-drink option for 2,200 yen. Is it dessert? Starting with Mineoka tofu, which has a chewy texture, the menu continued to offer a variety of delicious dishes that were a delight to both the eyes and the taste buds. I think people of all ages can enjoy a purely delicious meal. As for the amount, I think it was enough to satisfy me, as the man who was with me said that the last part was painful. I made a reservation for a private room. It's a Japanese-style room, but there's a table and chairs, so I was able to sit up straight without getting tired. Although the room seats four people, the table is quite spacious. I think this price is absolutely cheap, as it comes with yuba and wagyu beef shabu-shabu, fried blowfish, and crab🦀. And I don't think even non-alcoholic drinks are at the level of all-you-can-drink drinks. I really like the yuzu drink (ice cream). This time, I decided to enjoy sake 🍶✨. It was a delicious sake that was slightly sweet and easy to drink. One drink, then two, then three, and even though I'm not a big drinker, I managed to drink a lot, and I was able to get home comfortably without getting sick. lol Also, I would like to change the members and visit 😊 (Original)

Due to the 2 hour limit, the dessert was served at the last minute, and I was asked for the time with less than 10 minutes left. It's not an all-you-can-eat option, so you might want to adjust the time depending on when the food is served. (Translated by Google) I used it because I had a slightly complicated topic and needed to talk in a private room. Although it was 13:30 on a holiday, there were quite a few other customers. It's a course meal typical of Umenohana, with dishes using various types of tofu and yuba added gradually. Although each item may feel unsatisfying, I think in the end it's a volume that even men will be satisfied with. I was completely satisfied with the atmosphere of the private room and the tableware included. It gets very crowded on weekends and public holidays and requires advance reservations (for the course menu), so you'll definitely have to wait. For a chain restaurant, I think the quality is very high. For those who want to eat mainly yuba and tofu, the Ume no Hana lunch is the best! THE GOOD - I've been to this place many times and this hotel never disappoints. This place is my go-to hotel whenever i have business in chiba. - the self check-in counter was very helpful and self-explanatory - the staff are very friendly - the minimarket at first and second floor provided me with everything i need from snacks to electric plugs - the surrounding area are very quiet and tranquil. - quick 5 minutes walk to Kaihinmakuhari station THE BAD - the location is kinda far when you want to visit tokyo's famous tourist spots.

A sizable hotel complex with East, West and Central towers. It is rather big but rooms are small. Amenities are old and not in a well maintained condition. Staff mostly can't speak fluent English and is causing issue on service standard even those they were trying to help. Location is about 10-15 minutes walk from the JR station. It is not the best as there are other closer hotel to the station where there are tons of restaurants and shopping available. It is kind of tough walking back and forth during summer time as there is none other restaurant available nearby the hotel. They have high tower but elevator is not enough. You have spend time for just waiting for the elevator.

The facility and rooms are nice but the bathroom desperately need to be updated. There is no way to use the shower without water flooding the bathroom floor. Yes the floor has a drain but it is uneven, just puddles up, and is moldy. For 35,000 yen per night for Summer Sonic I expected better.

The AC doesn't work and with zero air ventilation. Stepped on the bed to try putting my hand at the vents, and nothing! Staff came room to check and told us it has a little warm air (??!) and it's the same for all rooms. Either this is BS or it's just a horrible hotel that can't provide the basic necessity - air! No surprise, the windows are sealed shut so we can't open that too. Gave us a fan for the room and that's it! No apology, no changing of rooms.

Room was in a terrible condition. The walls had tonnes of scuff marks and suspicious stains. There were brown droplet marks on the toilet seat cover. the water took ages to drain from the shower area and sink drain. Carpet in the room was stained in many places too. There was a fuzzy layer of mould growing on the wooden table that clearly had not been cleaned in a long time. A really gross room. Thankfully the bedding looked clean. Avoid the central tower at all costs.

Had dinner at that place at 20:00 Overpriced and completely not worth the money that have been spent. Very short choice of food, drinks. No sushi at all, 1 choice of meat and the customer took the last plate😀. Other meat was cold and in the salads only. With drinks- coke dispenser, coffee and no juice at all. Very poor place.

(Translated by Google) I've known about this restaurant for a long time. *Before I start, today is June 18, 2025. I'm not going to be mean to anyone who sees this post close to the date. If you're interested, make a reservation right away. It seems that around August, it will be fully booked. I'll be back. I knew about it, but I didn't know if it was delicious, and I didn't think I'd go because I didn't know if it would be good or not. It's a bit expensive Italian food for a local restaurant in that location. I don't think it will last that long. It's been going for 20 years, so it must be delicious! I suddenly became interested and decided to go and eat there on short notice. I went there for lunch on my anniversary. It was a weekday, but it was fully booked. It seems that it often gets booked up on weekends, but it's probably better to make a reservation on weekdays as well. Since I was there, I ordered the "Chef Koyama's Omakase Course" for ¥6,400. Assortment of three small appetizers Seasonal appetizer 1 Seasonal appetizer 2 Two types of pasta and risotto Two types of meat and fish Three types of dessert The set menu was as follows. Well, they were all delicious! Seasonal appetizer 1 was foie gras. Seasonal appetizer 2 was minestrone. It was very delicious, with lots of vegetables, a mild acidity, and a rich flavor of powdered cheese. The two types of pasta and risotto were seafood pasta and lobster risotto. The pasta was infused with the flavor of seafood. The lobster risotto was delicious. The main course was a two-item set of meat and fish dishes. The meat was a black wagyu steak. The fish was also delicious. The mashed potatoes that came with it were also quite tasty. You can also eat as much bread as you like. The final dessert was also delicious. Since we had made a reservation in advance, they wrote our names on the plate. Well, for an ordinary person like me, paying over 6,000 yen for lunch is a luxury, but considering the market average, I think it's still a good deal. And it's delicious. However, since it's a classy Italian restaurant, there are a lot of forks and knives lined up. But as long as you use them quietly from one end to the other, it shouldn't be a problem. I'd like to go eat there again soon. And if you see this, make a reservation right away. Now is your rare opportunity to eat at this restaurant. Nestled on a charming hill in Sakura City, Chiba Prefecture, the Sakura Manor House is a delightful British-style café that transports visitors straight to England. This elegant tearoom, housed in a stunning brick mansion constructed from antique materials imported from the UK, offers an enchanting atmosphere filled with vintage furniture and decor. The appeal is the old western-styled brick house that pops up unexpectedly in a small area in Chiba. It really does feel surreal. The cakes, tea, and coffee were "okay". Scones had a great consistency for example, but the cream and fruit spread provided didn't match well. The other cakes were just fine. Worth going if you're in the mood for a nice road trip or want to experience a place that feels like a piece of history (and the antiques held inside).

(Translated by Google) You can relax and enjoy a drink and meal in the middle of nature. This was my first time visiting, but the staff were all friendly and very polite. I also ordered cake and tea, and both were delicious. The shop has British antique goods and tableware on both the first and second floors, which is fun just to look at. (Translated by Google) A brick Western-style mansion suddenly appears in the middle of a residential area. I was surprised to find such a British mansion in Sakura! We visited the tea room at Sakura Manor House. Constructed from antique materials imported from England, the building's exterior and atmosphere are outstanding. Once inside, surrounded by antique furniture and tea sets, you'll feel as if you're traveling to England. This time, we had a girls' get-together with three other people. We ordered "High Grown" tea. It pairs well with milk and has a mellow aroma with little astringency. Served in a classic teapot, it felt even more special. The scone was crispy on the outside and moist on the inside. Served with clotted cream and marmalade, it paired perfectly with the tea and was a truly delightful experience. Soft light streamed in through the large windows, creating a quiet, relaxing atmosphere perfect for a girls' get-together. This extraordinary moment naturally led to lively conversation, making for a truly wonderful day. Reservations are required for afternoon tea, but you can use the tea room without a reservation. However, please note that reservations are not possible. It may get crowded depending on the time of day, but since we visited on a weekday, we were able to relax. This is a rare spot in Chiba where you can experience the British atmosphere. Recommended for those who want to enjoy a stylish and relaxing tea time. Well organized airport that’s easy to navigate. Check-in and security are usually smooth and the staff are helpful. There are plenty of shops and restaurants inside so waiting for your flight isn’t boring. Facilities are clean and comfortable, and the transportation options to and from Tokyo are very convenient. Overall a good airport experience whether you’re arriving or departing.

Narita international airport is one of two airports serving tokyo. It's well connected to the rest of Asia, Europe and America, as Japan becomes a tourism hotspot. The airport features excellent train service that is very frequent, along with limousine bus services, making it very accessible by public transit, like most things in Japan. The interior is extremely clean, and the toilets are magnificently delightful, much nicer than ones ife seen in MLE, CMB, COK and KUL.
The N — Google review
One of the best airports worldwide. Comfortable seating. Tax free shops. Clean and comfortable toilets. Appreciated the Pokémon store and the many food options. Excellent boarding experience. The vending machines sell drinks at the same price you would find them outside the airport.

Narita International Airport truly lives up to Japan’s reputation for efficiency and hospitality. From the moment I arrived, the staff were polite, helpful, and always ready to assist. The entire airport is clean, well organized, and easy to navigate, even for first-time travelers. Security and immigration processes were handled smoothly, with clear signs in multiple languages guiding passengers every step of the way. The waiting lounges are comfortable, and the wide selection of shops and restaurants makes any layover enjoyable. What stood out most was the calm atmosphere and the thoughtful touches everywhere—from spotless restrooms to convenient charging stations and reliable free Wi-Fi. Transportation options to and from Tokyo are also very convenient, with express trains and airport buses that run on time. Overall, Narita Airport offers a world-class travel experience that reflects the warmth and precision of Japanese culture. I would gladly travel through Narita again.

This airport was not amazing and not bad, it was just fine. The staff was friendly, the signs were displayed clearly so it was easy to get around. There was a smoking area outside the bus terminal which was nice because you're not allowed to smoke on the street in Japan.

Family easy to navigate - took the narita express to Shibuya ( booked/reserved seat via klook app) - once you pass arrivals , go to Basement 1 (B1) as you approach the main hall (dont go to the JR Office), turn right(opposite the JR office) are machines - select English, scan your QR code from klook app and it will print out a small green ticket. Take the ticket , exit the the machine area turn right and your see signs towards JR- check which car and seat you are at (found on klook app), proceed according to the signs onto the platform. You can check that your in the right cabin by looking at thr screen in the cars.

Haneda Airport

International airport
Sights & Landmarks
Haneda Airport is a waterfront airport that serves the Greater Tokyo Area and offers direct rail access to the city, as well as free WiFi. Travelers can take the Keikyu Limousine Bus to Yokohama Station and transfer to the Yokosuka Line or Shonan Shinjuku Line to reach Kamakura Station, which takes about an hour.
I'm very impressed with Haneda T3 and it's very functional and easy. The place is massive but easy to find information. Access to departures is really easy. Inside, the departure area is massively long with a lot of shops. Mostly branded one, but there's also a nice food court with very reasonable prices, offering a lot of Japanese choices. This is my fifth time here, and I am finally doing my Google Review.

Flight was excellent, airport is massive but the process of getting off, going through customs and grabbing our luggage was phenomenal! So well organized. Be prepared to go through miles of transit to get places with very fast, paced people moving in a quick manner. Loved flying over the city before landing. Just amazing.
Thuha N — Google review
Haneda Airport is truly one of the best airports in the world. From the moment you arrive, everything feels seamless—clean, efficient, and well-organized. The signage is clear, making it easy to navigate even for first-time visitors, and security and immigration move quickly compared to many major airports. The terminals are modern, bright, and filled with a wide range of dining and shopping options, from authentic Japanese restaurants to luxury boutiques. The staff are courteous and attentive, always ready to help with a smile. Amenities like spotless restrooms, clean showers, and comfortable seating areas make layovers far more enjoyable. Transportation to and from the city is also incredibly convenient. Haneda combines Japanese hospitality with world-class efficiency, making travel smooth and stress-free.

Haneda Airport is busy at all times — even at 7:00 AM, it’s filled with students and tourists. The place is lively, energetic, and huge, with plenty of restaurants to choose from. You definitely won’t go hungry here! ✈️🍱☕️

Haneda Airport is one of the cleanest airports I’ve seen right next to Changi in Singapore. Very organized and well-maintained, you can do lots of things there with plan spotting at the observation deck. The Terminal 3 is very easy to navigate. Can’t wait to see Japan again in the future!
Josh F — Google review
Upstairs, there’s a Don Quijote. You don’t need to worry about buying souvenirs elsewhere because this airport has everything! I even forgot to bring my child’s milk bottle, and luckily I found one there. The price was the same as outside The halal food is delicious and the portions are big!
M — Google review
Very efficient, don't have to walk as much to get to your departure gate, there are outlets for almost every seat at each gate if you want to charge your phone or PC, there is a hot water fountain if you have your own tea bags. On top of that, the airport is like a combination of Little Tokyo and a museum.
Emi A — Google review
Huge Airport and do much stores, restaurants, shopping, sky, ...so love the place. If your stuck or in a budget there are relaxing places to nap at. I could not get tired of this place.
