Restaurant
KC's Restaurant & Home is a charming dining spot in Sauraha that offers a unique and cozy atmosphere. The first floor provides comfortable seating for up to 30 people, with a mix of couches and wooden dining chairs. The walls are adorned with black and white Japanese script wallpapers and decorative hangings, adding to the restaurant's character. A cheerful bar is set up in one corner, adding to the inviting ambiance.
Probably one of the best restaurants in Sauraha. Not too fancy , good food quality, a bit expensive for Nepal but good food. We had a very good & delicious pork curry with some cheese garlic naan and a nice bottle of wine. My wife tried the Nepal thali set and she liked it too.
Luca T — Google review
A vibrant and cozy venue for dining and stay, right at the heart of Sauraha, Chitwan. The place has a beautiful, well-maintained garden that adds a relaxing vibe to the entire atmosphere. Whether you're here for a meal or a night’s stay, it offers a perfect blend of comfort, cleanliness, and hospitality. The food is delicious, with a variety of Nepali and international options on the menu. The staff are friendly, polite, and very responsive – always making sure guests are well taken care of. The swimming pool is clean and inviting, especially great for families or those looking to cool off after a jungle safari. They offer multiple seating arrangements – indoor, outdoor, and garden seating – which is perfect for different moods and occasions. The rooms (if staying) are tidy, comfortable, and come with basic amenities. Ideal for couples, families, and groups alike. Highly recommend this place if you're visiting Sauraha and want a peaceful yet lively spot to eat, relax, or spend a night or two.
Ashok A — Google review
Good hospitality with nice place to have your meal. The rooms are very nice but little compact compared to price. The team there are very friendly and also welcoming. The service is also good.
Hari S — Google review
I do not do review much but...Possibly the worst food I had in nepal.. momo was just awful(being momo lover) .... other food were just border line.. was expecting much more.... food does not mach the price at all. 👎👎 This review is for resturant only not hotel
Bikash G — Google review
I mean place was 10/10 but the food prices were on higher side and taste was also bland. If i am paying higher prices the taste also should be better.
Ashmi C — Google review
The rooms here is well designed, service is fast and nice, the location is also very good as there is river view from west side...
Er. P — Google review

Jalapeno restaurant

Mentioned on
1 list
Restaurant
The Jalapeno restaurant, located at Hatti chowk in Sauraha, offers a well-maintained ambience and a warm welcome from the staff. The food is served promptly upon being seated, with a variety of delicious options to choose from. The mix platter is particularly recommended as it provides good value for money.
We came here for dinner and had the Mexican salad bowl and a vegetarian Dahl baht and both meals were very good. The Mexican salad felt very fresh although the dressing seemed more like an Italian dressing and didn’t fit the salad too well but the corn chips seemed to be freshly made and very tasty! The meals were cheap and the atmosphere was lovely!
Danica T — Google review
During our stay in Chitwan we ate here 3 times and we ordered a take away for our bus drive the next day. The food is really great! Try the chicken enchiladas!
Laura — Google review
Delicious fresh cooked food, full flavour. Recommend the chicken noodles, fried rice and the chilly Momo's. Large portion size. Staff are very efficient and friendly. Location very good with the resturant on first floor with views on the street...in the hope of Mr Rhino 😂😁.
Bronwyn B — Google review
We’ve eaten here twice now, and both times everything was perfect. The chicken tikka masala was so good that we ordered it on both occasions. The food was fresh, super delicious, and prepared with great care. I believe the restaurant is family-run. A special highlight is the tasty cappuccino with nicely frothed milk.
Nikita G — Google review
This restaurant is exactly at Hatti chowk in Sauraha. The ambience is well maintained with warm greeting from the staffs. Food came quite quick for the time we were seated. We ordered mix platter and everything was worth the price. Other items we ordered were steam buff momo, chicken stir fry noodles, bacon pizza and variety of drinks from lemonade to iced cappuccino. Enjoyed the food and quick turnaround time of the food being bought to the table. Overall worth it.
Babita — Google review
One of the best meals I had in Nepal!!! Great food and amazing hosts!! 10/10
Itamar C — Google review
Amazing food, that was completely freshly cooked with love, just for us :) We went here two days in a row immediately. The place offers a huge variety of dishes from many different cultures, we had the aloo tikki, chicken tikka masala, garlic butter naan, Quesadilla and many cappuccinos! Everything was amazing and it was easily possible for them to cook it less spicy. Drinking water is safe as well!
Zoe B — Google review
The food is great here by standards of what you can expect in Nepal. The owner is the chef and it is clear he takes great care and pride in his work and his restaurant. The staff were also amazing. Thank you.

Shantiko Kitchen

Mentioned on
1 list
Restaurant
Shantiko Kitchen, a charming establishment located in Sauraha, offered a delightful dining experience. This cozy eatery impressed with its delectable pizzas adorned generously with various toppings and boasting a mouthwatering homemade flavor. The ambiance of the place was also commendable. However, their chocolate cookies proved to be overly sweet for some palates. One disappointing aspect was the Paneer Katti roll, which lacked moistness and had limited fillings.
Shantiko Kitchen in Chitwan is an absolute gem! The food and drinks here are simply umamig—bursting with rich flavors, fresh ingredients, and a perfect balance of spices. Every dish is crafted with love and care, making each bite a delightful experience. The ambiance is warm and inviting, creating the perfect space to relax and enjoy a nourishing meal. A special thank you to Vishnu, whose extra smile and kind welcome made my visit even more special. The hospitality here is just as wonderful as the food! If you’re in Chitwan, don’t miss the chance to experience this incredible place. Highly recommended!

We were told they are short of staff and there may be a delay in getting our good. We didn’t mind as we were warned. Food was delicious and the setting very pretty. Nice music too :)

We were lucky to find not spicy food. Very tasty normal European food. Atmosphere is fantastic. Music, service were great) and sweet funny dog😍

We went multiple times here during our stay in Chitwan. It was on the way to our hotel, and every time we had to stop for food or drinks. The host is amazing and very welcoming. Food and drinks all very good. The hygiene is amazing here with cleanest toilets we have seen here. Free water refills, also for your bottle. They support elephants welbeing as well. Many thanks for the good care!!
Lodewijk V — Google review
Excellent vibe. Nice service. Great beer and nice brunch. A little bit more expensive than other places but it’s worth it.
Marly P — Google review
I came here several times during my few days in chitwan. I ordered the paneer wrap, paratha, and paneer butter masala. I enjoy the food and the laid back vibe of the upstairs. Rock music being played over the speakers was nice.
Joseph K — Google review
This place is phenomenal! From the decor and ambiance to the owner and staff and food, this place is 5/5! We loved our dinner so much we went back the next day for lunch, and we will be going back for dinner again! They do not take card, so bring cash! We loved Burnie, the amazing dog, he's so sweet! There's also geckos and a cute bird that's nesting. The staff made this place feel amazing too because everyone is so sweet!
Sara M — Google review
The best spot in Sauraha! Rajesh was an amazing host, the food is so tasty, I would highly recommend the paneer katti roll! And can’t forget the ice cold beers on tap. If your looking for breakfast, lunch, dinner or just a refreshing drink in the hot weather please visit Shantiko kitchen!

Art Cafe

Mentioned on
1 list
Restaurant
Art Cafe in Chitwan has been hailed as the top cafe among those reviewed. With its exceptional artwork, pleasant background music, and attentive staff, it offers a superb dining experience. The freshly prepared dishes are reasonably priced, accompanied by a delightful selection of beverages including the renowned craft Sherpa beer. The attention to detail sets this establishment apart from others, with an immaculate rest room being just one example.
We had a lovely breakfast experience at Art Cafe so we decided to come for the dinner too! Staff was kind and friendly, we exchanged small chitchat, which was lovely. We waited little longer for the food but we wanted to enjoy chill morning so we didn’t mind. Inside (working A/C) there are couple of smaller tables and one large table , great for big groups. Nice and clean washroom. Outside sitting area is very cosy. We got green lemonade and lemon ice tea (highly recommended!! 💫), espresso macchiato and ice cappuccino (Coffee was great), simple breakfast bundle, and mushroom and cheese omelette w/ potato hash browns. Potato has browns were not what we expected but very tasty! All food recommended, we were very satisfied with what we ordered. We paid 2020 npr. For dinner we had 2 apple ciders (somersby), craft beer (need to try!), mochito (also very good), pasta, fried potatoes as a starter, and veg momo. We paid 3940 npr.
Klára P — Google review
Lovely interior, excellent food and the coffee was some of the best we've had. Worth the price. Very nice and chill on a hot day
Susankhya S — Google review
This is one of favorite cafes in Chitwan, Nepal. If you sit here and enjoy your coffee and meal;you get the added joy of seeing elephants walk by and sometimes an occasional Rhino too.
Rose O — Google review
This place is cool! We went here for coffee or tea almost everyday and it was one of the best in town. They also serve Sherpa IPA and a few other beers on tap. There’s a really cool outdoor section under fairy lights and a nice vibe inside, they play great music! Wifi works well, staff were friendly and they accept credit card which is so nice.
Jeff Z — Google review
Food quality is good!!Highly recommend the egg and cheese burger. The staff are great and friendly, you can enjoy a relaxed and chill atmosphere here. The most important is air conditioning!!!!!
Chris N — Google review
Absolutely wonderful!! The staff are so friendly and kind - they gave our girls some paper and colouring pencils to create art while we waited!! The food and drinks were really tasty! We had pizza, pasta, beer and shakes and they were all perfect! Thank you
Laurie J — Google review
Overall, the experience was quite good. The Margerita pizza and carbonara were perfect. The seating area is also nice, considering we might be able to see elephants walking on the streets. The service was quite slow due to the fact they were short-staffed at that time, but the owner was very nice and apologized on his behalf. Recommended place, and I'll surely revisit it.
Yamash T — Google review
We loved the Iced Americano and Iced Cappuccino. Honey on the side was delicious. 💛 The Mushroom soup was fresh and so smooth. The French fries were crisp and hot - good for a traveler’s stomach. Be sure to get the Banana Fritters - wow! 💛💛 The atmosphere is relaxing and clean, a great place to watch elephants wander by the window.

Sunset View Restaurant and Bar

Mentioned on
1 list
Restaurant
Sunset View Restaurant and Bar is a popular spot located along the Rapti River, offering breathtaking sunset views. It's an ideal place to unwind after a day of safari or jungle exploration. The ambiance is laid-back, with the option to relax under hay-roofs during summer. While some visitors have experienced longer wait times for their orders, many appreciate the beautiful scenery and enjoyable atmosphere. The restaurant offers delicious BBQ and beer, although some guests found the cocktails to be lacking.
The view and the experience you receive is really great. You can feel the cool air under one of the hay-roof during summer too & the feeling is so good. But I had to wait long time to gety order.

-💰1000 🐘 【local Duck Curry, Rice, Dal, Achar, Papad & Salad 650】 Duck meat is satisfactory, and of course I like this hot curry soup best. 🐘 【chicken lollypop 350】 This is my first time to try “lollypop” Great surprise, very well done. 🐘 Why is there a star ⭐ missing? Because its seat can't adjust its angle, which is too difficult for have a dinner (but ok for take a break)
Maeve M — Google review
Amazing view..amazing service..good food..but not happy with the cocktail..worth the time spend there❤
Pragy M — Google review
Nice view, good vibe, delicious BBQ and beer. Toilets are average for this area, there's soap and running water to wash your hands.

Awesome view very tasty BBQ
Bishal G — Google review
Great place to have a few beers and relax! The food is exceptional and Mr Yogi (the owner) is a very knowledgeable local that will point you in the right direction to find the tour that bests suits you! Just please be careful I only planned on having 1 beer at this place but ended up staying all night because of how much fun it is!
Mike F — Google review
Great little place. Don't even think of going here if you're snobbish or pretentious. What you get here is unpretentious service with a smile and a whole heap of hospitality. If you're going to complain about Mosquitoes and "flying worms" (What the hell are those???) then stay indoors, this is the Chitwan Jungle after all. This place is situated on the River Bank with excellent views.

Good place good view! A little high prices but worth it!

Friends Cafe

Permanently Closed
$$$$affordable
Restaurant
Friends Cafe is a charming spot located on the Main Street of Sauraha, offering both indoor and rooftop terrace seating. The cafe provides a cozy atmosphere with friendly staff and fast service. They serve delicious veggie burgers, bacon ranch pizza, and a variety of coffee and tea options. Additionally, they offer vegan dishes and have a good selection of beers and cocktails.
Went for dinner last night and loved it - the food was super fresh and we had the best veggie momos since coming to Nepal. Food was well priced and the owner (we assume) was really lovely. We’re vegan and he checked in with our dietary requirements before making our food and seemed to really care about making sure we enjoyed our food. We sat upstairs outside and there was mosquito repellant we could use - was a good atmosphere!
Alicia W — Google review
Banana lassi and hot chocolate were amazingly good but the non-veg nachos was the worst.
Kartavya G — Google review
Once you come here to eat, you will keep coming back. Food is delicious and service nice. My favorite were spacey buffalo momo.
Aida K — Google review
Really nice and chill place! The waiter is super friendly and speaks good English. The food arrived within a few minutes and was delicious. The biggest selling point though is the atmosphere. Such a cozy environment it looks and feels amazing.
Thomas D — Google review
A decent place to go out. We went here seeing the reviews. However, it was not as expected. We went during summer, it was too hot and there was no air conditioning. However, food was good.
Deepak P — Google review
Beautiful café on the Main Street of Sauraha. The café has a rooftop terrace as well as inside seating with a nice atmosphere. Vegan options available. The food was freshly prepared and had a good taste. The service was fast and very kind. Prices are reasonable.
Kat K — Google review
Great scenery and very friendly staff. We ordered the Buff Fried Momos, French Fries, and Bacon Ranch Pizza. The momos and friend were really good. The pizza was good but not the best. Fun place to sit and watch the street and city pass you by!

What a great cafe, good coffees, delicious food and very nice friendly service. Definitely recommended. Best momos too.

90's Greassy Spoon Restaurant, sauraha

Restaurant
Nestled in the heart of Sauraha, the 90's Greasy Spoon Restaurant is a delightful culinary gem that captures the essence of comfort dining. With its inviting ambiance and carefully curated music, this spot offers a clean and cozy environment for guests to unwind. Whether you choose to sit indoors with refreshing air conditioning or enjoy a view from the small balcony overlooking Sauraha Road, you're in for a treat.
Amazing ambience located right at the main street of Sauraha Neat and clean place Wide range of food selection Jamaican Pizza was incredible thou fish was only decent Staffs were quite friendly and helpful Live music will definitely add flavour to your stay everything was perfect Highly recommended
Prabeen S — Google review
Was here for the second time - they should focus on the quality of food. Or else, the place is nice.
Lumanti M — Google review
Pizza was a bit too dry, momo was ok but spicy. Lasi was too thick we didn’t really like it. But if you miss pizza, I think this place is where you should come, just a bit more expensive than local restaurants.
YC Y — Google review
Huge selection. We’d recommend the local fish and bbq pork. A little heavy on the sauces, but great clean place. This being off season, a considerable number of dessert items were not available, but the off menu honey tardan was incredible!
Eric C — Google review
Had a Ceasar salad and lemonade which were average. Staff are great and prices are average for a place like this. Atmosphere is the best part and there are air conditioners for the summer heat which is a great plus. Just tried out this place again and was sadly disappointed. Service was very slow but with the food and payment time later. Had the pork chop and it was a fail. Too much fat and way over cooked.
Clinton W — Google review
One of the best restaurants in Sauraha. I love the ambience and the music they play. The place is really clean, so is the bathroom. You can sit indoors or on a small balcony overlooking the sauraha road. For indoors they have AC, which is a must during summers and mind it,very few restaurants in Sauraha have AC. You can also sit on the bar. The coffee is very good, they have l!the varieties. I have no complaints about the food. I think this is the only place is Sauraha where you will get wood fired pizza and they also serve olive oil, chilli flakes and oregano. The bathroom is really clean. The staff are friendly. I don't find this place expensive in comparison to similar services in Kathmandu. Do visit!
Shirish S — Google review
Best multicusine Resturant in sauraha main street chitwan. This is highly recommend because they have good food with cool ac facility while your feel hot or cold. Food is really nice. Coffee and drinks also chilled. Inside premises they have mandara massage facility. Plz check my pic for your refrance before u go there. Most recommend food is american breakfast which huge enough and serve well. Enjoy.

Royal Kitchen and bar

Restaurant
Nestled above the bustling main street in Sauraha, Royal Kitchen and Bar is a charming haven that truly captures the essence of comfort dining. During my time volunteering at a nearby elephant sanctuary, I found myself returning almost daily to this delightful spot. The warm hospitality from the owners and staff made me feel right at home; they even let us choose our favorite tunes while we dined!
What a nice place! For breakfast, lunch and dinner. I felt very special having my birthday here. They did a great job getting the wine we like best.

first the prompt service, you will feel welcomed as soon you enter. Second, the food, we tried butter naan and chicken butter masala, so good on indian taste profile, 10/10 naan..thin&layered. butter chicken just melts in your mouth. we had grilled chicken, perfectly cooked, side with Greek Salad..good enough dressing.. and we had Sizzler..chicken quantity could have been little extra, though veggies were fine.

Taxi's Restaurant

Temporarily Closed
Restaurant
If you're on the lookout for a delightful dining experience in Sauraha, look no further than Taxi's Restaurant. This charming eatery offers an impressive array of traditional Nepali dishes alongside Western favorites like burgers and sandwiches. The standout here is undoubtedly the dhindo and dhal bhat sets, crafted from fresh ingredients that truly elevate your meal.
The place is very confortable it's a family business and you feel it. The food is made al the moment, it means that it take some time, but really good. Next time in Sauraha we'll come back.
Giovanni F — Google review
Definitely give this place a try!! The service was great, food was great and they're the only place I've been to in Nepal or India that offers a small or large pot of tea, rather than just a single serving. They have a large variety of food and drink options, as well as hookah available.
Shane T — Google review
We ordered a delivery food to our hotel after reading reviews sadly the food was not edible - chicken noodle soup came without soup and tasted bad, fries were dry ,sausages were pale plus they didn’t add ketchup which we especially asked for. Not worth 1600 rupee…
Debbie S — Google review
Wonderful owner/chef! Very personable and welcoming. We had drinks one night for a fun atmosphere, breakfast the next day, and dinner at night. He specializes in Dhindo - a traditional Nepali dish.
Luis M — Google review
Great little local restaurant with traditional Nepali food. They also serve western food like burger and sandwich. I would recommend to try the veg momos. The prices are good as well and the owner is very friendly. Nice place to have lunch or dinner.

Bayleaf Restaurant sauraha

American restaurant
Nestled near the outskirts of Chitwan National Park, Bayleaf Restaurant in Sauraha is a culinary gem that offers an inviting atmosphere and a delightful menu featuring both Indian and Nepali cuisine. The owner’s passion for food shines through every dish, as evidenced by the freshly prepared meals made from scratch.
Best food and drinking service, have ever expected in sauraha chitwan. Specially for pizza. Thank you bay leaf restaurant for all and my guests also recommended for another time.
Amrit B — Google review
Below average veg pulao in which had no flavour at all. Soupy dal fry didn’t had right thickness.
Chaoran Z — Google review
They do have varieties of dishes. The waiter was humble enough when we said that we need a vegan option. He understood the word vegan. The rotis were good. The mushroom curry was very spicy as we forgot to mention that we prefer less spicy. So, it was our fault. Please, be sure to mention it as Indian dishes are spicy. Even the stuffings of aaloo paratha was spicy. They did lower the amount of spiceness on our next visit. Loved the mixed vegetables curry as well. The prices were reasonable fo the curries and the rotis. But, they charged Rs. 200 for a single paratha which is quite expensive. Need to work on the layer of paratha as it was quite thick it was a bit undercooked. Also, didn't like how they seeved the parathas(last picture). Rather than that was happy to see that they provide a vegan meal.
Anirem M — Google review
We ordered indian and Nepali food and for that I will give Bayleaf a solid 5. The owner puts his heart into his food. We went there for lunch, órdenes a paneer better masala and a mushroom curry. I asked if the mushroom is from a can, which he confirmed.i bet he read my facial expression and sent his waiter to get us fresh mushrooms. The food took time to be prepared meaning the dishes are made from scratch. That was a good sign. The taste was amazing, great balance of spices and aromas. We went back for dinner and asked for the Veg Khana set, the fried Daal and the Daal Tadkha. Same quality and satisfaction! Keep it up! A must stop when in Sauraha :)
Zeinab J — Google review
On the 1th level you can sit and watch over the street. The ambiance is nice and easy. The restaurant has Indian food which is very nice. But with Indian food comes a lot of carbs but its food is delicious.
DC J — Google review
The hotel staff marketed me telling it is 3 star level hotel. I went there for new year Eve. The room was average and main problem was bathroom not repaired. Toilet flush was not working and we could not use during our stay. and I also informed but they never come to fix. They take very high price and increased price on that particular day. Room they told was delux but night light was not there and I needed to open bathroom full night for dim light. No toothbrush and no breakfast was there even if I paid 4k for just one night for very average facility and room. I don't recommend this low grade hotel. Service was also bad.
Sagar D — Google review
Average food. I tried chicken thakali khana set. Unfortunately there were more bones than meat in chicken curry and daal was tasteless. The beer wasn’t cooled enough. The waiter was staring at us all the time as if he wanted us to leave as soon as possible.

Nice place to have meals. Particularly, pizzas is great option to have. the ambience is amazing. This restaurant is located just near the outskirts of Chitwan National park.

Kushinagar is a village in the district of Kushinagar, Uttar Pradesh. The village is popular among visitors and devotees as a Buddhist pilgrimage site as it is considered to be the final resting destination of Gautam Buddha, thus the place has been an important spot since ancient times. However, the Kushinagar international airport was built to ease the commute for national, and international passengers and Buddhist pilgrims. The airport has an "eat and dine" area where passengers can grab some good food and enjoy their pre-flight time. No more operational, zero flights, may act as a wartime airstrip due to close proximity to the Chinese border but it has failed to provide what was its original purpose- enabling commercial air transportation in the region. Pumping millions for a probable wartime landing strip was not a good idea, at least let the airlines begin mere 3 or 4 flights daily to DEL or BOM so it justifies its name as an "international airport"

It's a small airport on the outskirts of khushinagar. The airport is just a building with arrival and departures from it. The architecture is clean and simple. People generally walk to and from the aeroplane to the departure gates or from arrival. If khushinagar is accessible to you then you can definitely check this airport out.

Kushinagar International Airport is a perfect example of infrastructure which hasn’t kept up with community growth.Sometimes there is small clashes between Airport authority and local people. The airport lies near an important Buddhist pilgrimage site, where Gautama Buddha has attained Parinirvana after his death. So State Government plans to develop the airport to cater to international tourists who visit this site.

Tribhuvan International Airport

International airport
Airport
Tribhuvan International Airport is the main gateway to Kathmandu, Nepal, and the country's sole international airport. Travelers can obtain Nepalese visas at the airport upon arrival or from the Nepalese Embassy in their home country. The airport has seen improvements over the years but still has room for further development to meet international standards. While it offers a warm and welcoming atmosphere with friendly staff and beautiful decor, some areas like the waiting area and wifi could be improved.
Tribhuvan International Airport is Nepal’s only international gateway, located in Kathmandu. It handles both domestic and international flights and serves as the main hub for Nepal Airlines and several other carriers. The airport offers basic facilities such as immigration, customs, baggage claim, duty-free shops, restaurants, lounges, currency exchange, and car rental services. Domestic and international terminals are separate but within walking distance. While services are improving with ongoing upgrades, the airport still faces challenges like limited space, crowding during peak hours, and modest infrastructure compared to larger global airports. Overall, TIA provides essential travel services with a touch of Nepalese hospitality, acting as the central link between Nepal and the world...

Tribhuwan International Airport is the main gateway to Nepal, located in Kathmandu. As the country’s only international airport, it handles a large volume of passengers traveling both domestically and internationally. The airport has a functional and straightforward layout, but it often experiences heavy congestion, especially during peak travel seasons. Facilities are basic but adequate for an international airport in a developing country. The terminal provides essential services such as lounges, eateries, currency exchange, and duty-free shops. However, some areas could benefit from improved cleanliness and better maintenance. Security procedures can be time-consuming, so it’s advisable to arrive well in advance of your flight. The staff are generally helpful and courteous, though there can be occasional delays in service. Transportation options to and from the airport are convenient, with taxis and ride-sharing readily available. In essence, Tribhuvan International Airport serves its purpose as Nepal’s primary air travel hub, with room for modernization and enhanced passenger experience.

⭐️☆☆☆☆ 😤 Frustrated Traveler at Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA) ✈️ Every time I travel from Kathmandu, I face the same disappointment — and it’s not just once, it’s every single time 😞 ☕ The only coffee shop before boarding is a disaster. 💸 We pay ₹350 for a latte — easy money for them, but for us, we work hard to earn even ₹315! Yet what we get is warm water with no taste 😩 🧼 Hygiene is shocking. 🙍‍♂️ Staff? No greeting, no smile, no courtesy — just rushed and rude service 😠 🚻 And don’t get me started on the airport facilities! 🪠 Toilets are always dirty, smelling terrible, and not maintained properly. 🧹 Cleanliness is a joke — floors sticky, trash overflowing, hand soap missing. 🛋️ Waiting areas? Crowded and uncomfortable. ⚠️ Signage and basic services are confusing, making travelers stressed before even boarding. It’s sad that travelers have no other options inside the airport 😞 Nepal 🇳🇵 prides itself on hospitality, but TIA fails miserably at basic standards. 🙏 Airport management, please take this seriously: improve the coffee quality, hygiene, staff behavior, and overall facilities. We work hard for our money, and when we travel, we deserve comfort, cleanliness, and respect — not disappointment 😡 #TribhuvanAirport #Kathmandu #NepalTravel #HardEarnedMoney #CoffeeDisaster #DirtyToilets #WeDeserveBetter #TravelFrustration

⭐ Rating: ★★☆☆☆ (2/5) Review: Kathmandu Domestic Airport (Domestic Terminal – Tribhuvan International Airport) My experience at Kathmandu’s Domestic Airport was below average due to a number of shortcomings in its basic infrastructure and passenger facilities. The terminal is very basic, with limited seating and poor lighting, giving it a dark and somewhat uninviting atmosphere. Toilets are dirty and smell unpleasant, which is quite disappointing for a busy national airport. There is only one screen displaying flight information, making it difficult to keep track of flights unless you’re right in front of it. Security checks begin right at the entrance, including baggage scans and body searches. Also, only passengers are allowed inside the terminal, so family or friends must wait outside regardless of weather conditions. On the positive side, the airport does offer free WiFi and there are CCTV cameras installed for safety. The biggest plus was the airport staff—they were very helpful, polite, and professional, which made the experience more bearable despite the outdated facilities. In summary, Kathmandu Domestic Airport functions, but just barely. It’s in need of serious renovation and proper maintenance. If you're flying from here, be prepared for minimal comfort and come with low expectations.

Well, nothing against the airport or people who are working over there. Its just super simple. Our flight was very early and when we came the airport was still closed. So be ready to wait in the long line. Behind the security and immigration check you can wait for your departure. There is only one convenience store where is chance to buy simple breakfast or some drinks. Don't expect facilities like on some other airports around the world. The staff was nice and helpful. Be sure that your checked language is properly closed with a locker cuz somehow I found my suitcase opened and reorganized when I arrived at my final destination🤷‍♂️ Thank you🤩

Small but a well maintained and well managed airport people working here are efficient and helpful the place was clean the roads from city to airport can be bit congested so it’s always better to reach this place early. There is a very good sitting area which will keep you comfortable

Just a basic domestic terminal with no tea/coffee stall, arrival/departure is often late. The washroom is decent but lacks dryer. Waited for an hour to receive my guest with free WiFi and somehow cooperative staffs.

Tribhuvan International Airport located about 5.6 km east of central Kathmandu in the Bagmati Province, is Nepal’s oldest and busiest airport, first opened in 1949 and renamed in 1955 after King Tribhuvan. Situated at an elevation of 1,338 m, it operates a single 3,350 m asphalt runway and features separate terminals for international and domestic flights, the latter serving as the starting point for Himalayan treks such as those to Lukla . Serving as a hub for domestic airlines like Buddha Air, Yeti, Nepal Airlines, and international carriers connecting roughly 40 destinations in 17 countries, TIA handles around nine million passengers annually though capacity challenges have prompted plans for infrastructure upgrades and new airports it. Despite crowding and occasional delays, it remains the gateway to Nepal’s cultural and natural wonders.
