Bamboo Train Battambang

Mentioned on
18 lists
Railway services
When visiting Battambang, one of the must-try experiences is the Bamboo Train. This unique attraction offers a fun and inexpensive way to explore the countryside while enjoying the breeze on your face. The open bamboo platform rides along an old track, providing a glimpse of rural life. It's important to note that there are multiple bamboo train locations in the area, so be sure to visit the original one near the city. The ride typically lasts around 30 minutes and costs 10 USD per person.
I had low expectations for the bamboo train due to all the negative reviews. But I had a free day to explore and figured might as well try it. My girlfriend and I absolutely loved it. We had the whole train to ourselves. Not another tourist in sight. We were here during low tourist season. Yes, it can get really loud, but it didn't bother us. I can see why it would, though, if you have sensitive ears. It doesn't feel like the safest thing in the world. In fact, when we took off the first time and accelerated to max speed, I was sure we were going to fly off the tracks. But that's all part of the experience. A lot of people talk about being exposed to the sun the entire time, and yeah, I can see how that wouldn't be much fun. Fortunately, for us, it was overcast during the first 90 percent of the ride. The final 10 percent it rained like crazy on us. We got drenched, but it was such a fun experience. No one asked for a tip, but in retrospect, I wish I had given one. Our driver was super friendly. The end happened so fast. They were quickly breaking the train down and running to cover while we were simultaneously running to a tuk tuk. By the time I thought about tipping, we were already on the road heading home. A lot of people talk about being pressured to tip. I don't think that's okay, but I do think a tip is definitely warranted. The locals totally deserve it. I still feel really bad that I didn't tip myself. 😢
Zak — Google review
Not at all what I would imagine a ‘bamboo train’ to look like. Powered by a motor, so it’s incredibly loud and not relaxing. It doesn’t take you anywhere particularly interesting. For $5 there are much more fun things to do in the area. This was a massive waste of time for me.
Jamie N — Google review
During my weekend in Battambang, this was my favorite thing. The ingenuity of the Khmer people to use the train tracks for their personal use with just a flat frame, some wheels and a motor is awesome. I loved the the ride and I love the out of the box thinking they people did.
Brian P — Google review
Such a fun way to see Cambodia. We came in late September, nearing the end of rainy season, so it was especially green and beautiful!! Don’t forget to wear sunscreen or bring a hat ☀️🌾🛤️🇰🇭
Lily-Jane — Google review
The Bamboo Train is definitely a novelty visit. Expected something a little more than seeing the back of properties though. Still made a nice break from travelling from sire to site. Very clever use of what they have
Alan H — Google review
Such a fun activity in Battambang - take a ride on the bamboo trains. It lasts around 30 mins and you get to see some lovely views across rice fields and local villages. It costs $5 per person to ride - they do encourage you tip the driver at the end so be prepared for this as some groups were caught off guard with this. Bring a hat / sunnies / sun cream - it is out in the open and no shade. Lots of fun though and worth doing when visiting Battambang
Eloise C — Google review
The ride takes about 30 minutes and runs on an active train track, which adds a bit of excitement. Unfortunately, that’s where the positives end. It’s overpriced, poorly organised, and constantly interrupted—you have to stop mid-ride, get off, while thet physically remove your cart to let others pass. Worst of all, at the end they demand a tip, and when someone in our group gave one, they said it wasn’t enough and asked for more. You’re better off grabbing a coffee at the train café and watching the carts and trains go by from the bridge (see video)
Connor M — Google review
Such a cool experience riding the bamboo train! I thought it would be slow, but it’s actually not at all and it’s completely safe. The 30-minute ride is so much fun! It costs $2.50 for Khmer and $5 for foreigners, or you can get a private bamboo train for just $10. Don’t forget to leave a tip, they always appreciated. Definitely don’t miss this place!

Ek Phnom Pagoda

Mentioned on
+16 other lists
Buddhist temple
Sights & Landmarks
Ek Phnom Pagoda is a fascinating site located just over 11km from Battambang. It features a modern pagoda and a large sitting Buddha statue, set against the backdrop of an 11th-century temple in ruins. The eerie atmosphere of the temple's jumbled stones and pillaged carvings gives visitors the feeling of stumbling upon a hidden secret ruin. Nearby, Phnom Sampuove offers natural beauty with its temples, natural wells, and picturesque mountains.
Saturday 11th October: Nice temple to visit, as you stand in front of it look right and you see the ruined temple, very similar to those seen at Angkor Wat. (You can't miss it to be fair) Well worth a stop off, some interesting plants and animals at the ruined temple
Alan H — Google review
It’s a nice pagoda, pretty much the same as the structures you would find at Angkor Wat and other temples from the Angkor Period. There’s also a little shrine inside the pagoda. You do have pay to get in. I find this p,ace to be one of those places you go and see it one time and you’re good. There’s no tour guide or anything from what I saw when I came. Hardly any people on a weekday.
Timothy T — Google review
Wat Ek Phnom, an 11th century Angkorian Hindu temple. Easily accessible with a few wooden steps to climb and only about a 15 minute ride from Battambong's city center. Unfortunately, most walls have collapsed and looted, but still a nice place to visit since there aren't many visitors. Wat Ek Phnom has many shady Bodhi trees and large tamarind and milk fruit trees, making it an ideal place to seek relief from the heat, and if you look closely, you'll see many pendulum bird nests among the large trees (near the front of the ruins). You can also stroll around the moat of wat Ek Phnom and the temple ground. You're visiting a place of worship, so dress appropriately and be respectful.
Amie K — Google review
I had the best time here. Walkies around the pagoda and temple ruins were super duper. $1 USD entry.
Jesse T — Google review
Very cool temple to see. There’s both a new temple and some ruins which are older than Angkor wat, according to our tuk tuk driver. It was $1 per person which is fair enough if they have to maintain the place.
Noah T — Google review
Definitely worth the visit! The entry was 4000KHR or $1 It wasn’t busy at all, when we visited there were only two other people there other than the locals. It’s a temple from the 1100s in quite a bad condition, but definitely fascinating. There is a modern temple right in front of it and a big Buddha just to the side.
Sam H — Google review
We enjoyed our visit here as there is an old temple from I think the 1100s. This Temple is not in very good condition but that is what makes it interesting. Take the time and walk through it, its amazing, took lots of pics. There is also a newer temple and a large statue of a huge buddha. Definitely worth visit, I think the cost was a dollar. 3btraveler

Wat Samrong Knong

Mentioned on
+9 other lists
Buddhist temple
Sights & Landmarks
Points of Interest & Landmarks
Wat Samrong Knong, situated 6 kilometers north of Battambang province in Cambodia, is a captivating destination for history enthusiasts. The temple has a poignant past, having been under the control of the Khmer Rouge and serving as a site where thousands of locals and war criminals were executed. Dating back to the 19th century, the temple complex showcases an intriguing blend of pagodas, ancient ruins, and memorial shrines.
Free to visit and very few tourists around in the afternoon. A fairly large complex. Do some research before rocking up so you understand the place. Otherwise it’s just another set of temples. Beware of children asking you for money. You are more likely to come across young kids just wanting high fives or asking to chat so they can learn more English but the odd group do ride/walk around asking for money. They should be at school so it’s not ideal to support begging.
Eva H — Google review
If you have a chance to visit Battambang province in Cambodia, wat Samraong Knong should be on your visiting list. This Buddhist temple has evolved through out the history of Cambodia. This place has aged around 300 years old, but the architecture continues to shine with the golden preah vihear. You can also see the alignment with Khmer Rouge regime as well. It is definitely worth it to visit there. I highly recommend everyone. Feel free to contact or learn more from Provincial Department of Tourism of Battambang. In addition, if you want to deep dive into Cambodian history, genocide, killing field, this place is for you.
Sar P — Google review
Samroung Knong is one of the oldest pagodas in Battambang, and very likely among the oldest across Cambodia. Founded in 1707, it has stood for centuries, witnessing the nation’s changing history. The pagoda endured through the Oudong Era, the French Protectorate, Cambodia’s Independence, the Republic of Khmer, and, most tragically, its transformation into an Angkar Center during the Khmer Rouge regime. Today, Samroung Knong remains an important cultural and historical site. It is known for its surviving old brick temple, which reflects centuries of Khmer craftsmanship, as well as its unique architectural features that distinguish it from other pagodas in the region. Visitors not only come to admire its beauty but also to reflect on its deep historical significance and the resilience of Cambodian heritage.
Sothea S — Google review
Lots of history, which can be quite upsetting for some . Arriving with a tour, tuk tuk or on your own, you feel like there is no one around. I would suggest at least taking a knowledgeable driver or doing research about the temples and the rich Cambodian history before arriving . It is definitely not a simple place where people come only to take pictures. There is so much more to it.
Ewa T — Google review
They were putting up new years decor so it was a little blocked off, still a cool temple and also has a room with a torture museum which was interesting to read but so sad. It’s also located next to a killing field and there is a lot of information to read on the Khmer Rouge.

The is the first pagoda I visit in Battambang province. This pagoda is nice 😊 And lots of things. Also the museum👍Recommend you to visit 😁

The most beautiful place for tourists to visit It is real khmer art style and great architecture, golden color
Hak B — Google review
An ancient Buddhist pagoda. The former main temple is on the process of putting its name into the World Heritage list. The temple itself is full of glories and horror. During Khmer Krohorm period, the temple was used as a captive for prisoners who were mostly ordinary people. 10,008 people lost their lives. The compound is tranquil and filled with calm after the tragedy.

Phare Ponleu Selpak is a renowned circus managed by an organization that trains disadvantaged youth in various circus arts. The talented performers showcase impressive skills such as juggling, acrobatics, hula hooping, and dancing to music played by other artists. The project also includes an art school and kindergarten for children. Visitors can support the cause through a monthly sponsorship program. Many are deeply moved by the students' performances and find the experience incredibly meaningful.
This was a wonderful acrobatic circus experience put on by students of the arts academy. Our family greatly enjoyed the skill displayed, the paintings and drawings, and found some nice gifts in their shop also.

The vibe was INCREDIBLE. We had to visit after seeing the Siem Reap circus and it was so interesting to watch these talented student improve and although some tricks may have taken two tries, it was so inspiring to see their improvement and dedication to the show

This is an ABSOLUTE must when in Battambang. The phare “campus” is packed with great energy and the show just keeps delivering. Get into the tent around 18:45-18:50 and get some education on phare and why and how it all started, and why there’s a giant Guinness sign in the campus. And please leave a donation at the end. Tips: Drinks from the cafe can be brought into the show, and since it will be warm it is nice to hydrate a little. Many hotels sell tickets/vouchers, saves you from cash payments and just add to the hotel bill They sell shirts, drawing, paintings and lots more that help support the cause Tips = donation And to all volunteers, thank you!
Stefan V — Google review
Had a great time seeing the students perform in the big top. The campus is beautiful and I loved seeing the exhibit before the show and learning about the programs the students are involved in. The students are so professional and the 'Rouge' so was incredibly moving. This is a must do evening if you are visiting Battambang!

Phare, the Cambodia circus. Great show, friendly staff. All the students there are really talented. Each month have their own schedule show. FYI: no plastic allowed in the place.
Sereyluck S — Google review
Great performance by the students of Phare circus. Even though their moves/stunts are not always perfect but their effort and determination are admirable. You can also book for a school tour in the day and come see the show in the evening at 7pm. It’s a great way to support these kids so that they can have good education and learn a skills which they can make a living.

Watched both siem reap circus(by professional graduates) and batambong circus(by undergraduate). Batambang Circus; performers make mistakes on stage, but the audience love the entertainment. Performers will make the show comical and very candid about it. Love it! The instruments are made of pipes, Slippers, pot and pans. So creative! If you want a PERFECT performance, don't go. Bare in mind performers are taught with limited resources and from difficult situations. Support the circus school which provide Free education and a livelihood skills to the community.

Wow very nice to visit the place. There are a lot of amazing performances done by most vulnerable children. They are so talented that they can do such really great things. I really love the circus team here. They are so cool. What a great team! If we visit Battambang, you must not miss it.

Market
Battambang Central Market, also known as Psar Nat, is situated in the heart of the city and serves as the primary hub for a wide array of goods including food and household items. Visitors can immerse themselves in local culture by enjoying a traditional Cambodian breakfast at one of the market's small eateries. The town itself boasts a charming blend of French colonial architecture, lively cafes, art galleries, and boutique shops along the Sangkae River.
Large market with a huge selection of products Does get a bit crowded and warm, but its open on all sides for a quick escape to cool down
Alan H — Google review
There are many markets in Battambang but this is the biggest. There are different sections from clothes, jewellery, cosmetics, eatery to fresh produce. Eating here is pocket friendly but can get hot and stuffy. As you know, all markets are similar. If you need to buy, then you need to be there. This market is not really crowded.
Lee K — Google review
Battambang Central Market, also known as Phsar Nath (ផ្សារណាត់), is a major hub of local life in Battambang. More than just a place to shop, it's a vibrant and authentic cultural experience that reflects the city's history and daily rhythms. French Colonial Influence: The market building is a significant architectural landmark, built in the 1930s under French colonial administration. Its Art Deco style is similar to the famous Central Market in Phnom Penh, as it was designed by the same French architects. Food Stalls: The market is a fantastic place to sample local Cambodian cuisine. You'll find numerous food stalls serving affordable and authentic dishes like noodles, sticky rice cakes, and other traditional snacks.

No fun at all. Some pretty fabrics, mostly made in Bangladesh- but it's downright racist the way they scam the very few tourists so cunningly and with glee. Imagine if you came to my country and because you have brown eyes - we try to make you pay 100% more than us and then laugh at you for reacting. Shame on you! I speak Khmer- I know what you called me and how you talked between yourself about me, especially the women selling fruit and those selling fabrics!
Åse I — Google review
Cool market with varied food. We went there to buy materials for our cooking lesson and it qas a lot of fun. Also, side note, but the insect food variety was the best I ever tasted.
Algwins — Google review
A nice , historical place. Undergoing streets renovation , pretty dusty those days. The buildings nice but old and in bad shape. A day is more all you need to visit the center. Maybe less.
Alexandru O — Google review
As the name might suggest, this is the most centrally located and largest market in Battambang. In my opinion, it is one of the better markets in Cambodia. It has a wide selection of typical market items, like fresh produce and meats, jewelry, clothes, religious items and beauty supplies. It avoids the extremes of either excessive touristy artificiality (like PP's Central Market with its high prices and Chinese-made "Cambodian" souvenirs) or dirtiness (like some of the other BTB markets). Pro Tip BTB Central is especially a great place to have breakfast or lunch at the food court in the centre of the market. But be forewarned that the market closes early, usually 6:00PM or so
Sinay's R — Google review

The Killing Cave

Mentioned on
6 lists
History museum
Located near Phnum Sampov, The Killing Cave earned its name from the Khmer Rouge's brutal actions during their regime in the 1970s. This site holds a tragic history as it was used to dump thousands of bodies, including children. It is an essential part of Cambodia's history and visiting provides insight into the country's past. To reach the cave, visitors can rent a motorbike and take a one-hour journey to the top of the mountain.
A dreary little cave with an extremely sad history. It's a short walk with a small pagoda, a few statues that get your imagination working in overdrive, and the cave. There's a small viewing platform to soak up the the views of the surrounding landscape.
Jesse T — Google review
Thinking about how thousands of people died here gave me chills. There isn’t much set up as a major attraction, but since it’s on a hill, it’s a good place to walk around and take in the surroundings before watching the bats. I hired a motorbike driver at the bottom of the hill, which made getting around much easier. I paid $3 for the ride. If you don’t take a motorbike and walk up instead, it can take over an hour to look around.
Taehyun T — Google review
We visited the Killing Cave, but honestly, it wasn’t as impactful as we expected. The place carries historical significance, but there isn’t much context or information provided on-site to help you fully understand the events. The cave itself is small, and aside from the memorial, there’s not much to see. Worth a quick stop if you’re in the area, but not a must-visit on its own.
George P — Google review
Saturday 11th October 2025: Lakhon Killing Cave is an interesting visit. It shows the gruesome history from the Khymer Rouge's regime, on it's own population. Good on a guided tour as you get the additional information and history.
Alan H — Google review
Interesting to see, if you go by foot it’s 20min walk easy if you are fit. If you don’t like to walk you can pay a little extra for a car to bring you up. The view is nice and the cave has a dark vibe.
Arnaud D — Google review
A very insightful and harrowing visit if you’re in Battambang. The site is where a lot of innocent Cambodians lost their lives. The caves are cool to see but a bit chilling. You can either walk up to the caves and the temples or we had a 2 way jeep ride for a total price of $10 dollars ( 3 people).

Excellent site to see the place where the Khmer Rouge soldiers killed the people, to understand more about their regeme...
Chamnan S — Google review
It was a nice trip, filled with anticipation and excitement. The journey began with high hopes and expectations, as we embarked on an adventure to explore new places and experiences. However, as the trip unfolded, a sense of yearning for something more lingered in the air. Along the way, we encountered a guide who spoke in Khmer, sharing fascinating stories about the history of the region. Despite our lack of understanding of the language, we could sense the passion and knowledge in his words. The desire to fully grasp the rich tapestry of tales he weaved was palpable, yet remained out of reach.

Nearby, there's a temple and killing cave that are worth visiting before witnessing the bat flight.
Very cool to see all the bats flying out. Unfortunately for us the videos and photos don’t do it justice as the bats didn’t arrive until 15 minutes after sunset at about 18:40. Would be better if it was still daylight/dusk. Don’t let that put you off though it’s still very cool to see this event. People start gathering around 17:30 waiting to see the bats

An unforgettable experience at Phnom Sampov’s Bat Cave! Visiting the Bat Cave near Battambang was one of the most magical and unexpected highlights of my trip to Cambodia. Just before sunset, I arrived at the base of Phnom Sampov and was greeted by friendly locals offering snacks and drinks while pointing me toward the best viewing spots. As the sun dipped behind the horizon, millions of bats began streaming out of the cave in a mesmerizing ribbon across the sky. It felt like watching nature’s own choreography—fluid, endless, and strangely peaceful. The spectacle lasted for nearly half an hour, and I was amazed by how organized the flow of bats seemed. The sound, the movement, and the sheer volume were breathtaking. What made it even more special was the backdrop: golden rice fields, limestone cliffs, and the silhouette of the mountaintop pagoda. I also recommend climbing Phnom Sampov earlier in the day to explore the Killing Caves and the temple at the summit. The history is sobering, but the views are worth the effort. Whether you’re a nature lover, photographer, or just curious traveler, this place is a must-see. Bring a camera, wear comfortable shoes, and prepare to be awed.

I’ll come back again next time to see the bats flying out at sunset! 🌄

Great to see all the bats flying out of the caves - there’s a few bars around that you can sit at and watch them come out (get there earlier to get a seat). You don’t need to book in advance, we just paid entrance on the door. It does get very busy from 5:15/5:30pm so get there a bit before to get a good spot and not to be rushed around as the bats come out any time from 5:45-6pm

Jaan Bai Restaurant is one of the best dining spots in Battambang, Cambodia. It's a great choice for families with children and offers a variety of European dishes. Alongside Nary Kitchen and Coconut LyLy Restaurant, Jaan Bai Restaurant stands out as a top culinary destination in Battambang. Whether you're looking for local flavors or international cuisine, this restaurant promises to deliver an unforgettable gastronomic journey.
What a fabulous meal! We were lucky that there was one unreserved table when we turned up at 6:45 as we saw lots of people turned away after we sat down. The meal was gorgeous - and the young staff really did their best to offer a friendly and welcoming service. All the dishes were delightful - we started with the chicken satay with peanut sauce and the cucumber salad with pork belly. And followed it up with the traditional prawn and tofu pad Thai, and the fish amok. Both were very tasty! I could have eaten all the desserts as they all sounded fabulous but in the end I asked the waiter what he recommended and we went for the coconut cake with passion fruit sorbet, and the magi and sticky rice. We also enjoyed two delicious cocktails (negroni with green orange), a large beer and a white wine. Our bill came to $46 - amazing value for such a meal! This restaurant gives back to a local children’s charity so you’re doing good whilst enjoyed good food! It’s a win-win situation.! Book - you won’t be disappointed!

Jaan Bai Restaurant, Battambang - A Meaningful Meal with Incredible Flavour We had a truly memorable dinner at Jaan Bai Restaurant in Battambang last night as a visiting family of five. From the moment we arrived, we felt not just welcomed, but connected to something bigger than a typical dining experience. What makes Jaan Bai unique is its purpose, 51% of profits go to an organisation supporting the transition of children out of orphanages and into better, more fulfilling lives here in Cambodia. It’s more than just a meal, it’s a movement. The food itself was exceptional. We sampled a variety of local dishes, with standouts including the Curry Chicken and Butterfly Flower Steamed Chicken, both bursting with flavour and beautifully presented. For dessert, we shared three incredible sweet dishes: a rich flower chocolate cake, a light and fluffy coconut cake, and a refreshing coconut sorbet. All were fantastic (see photos below!). The service was friendly and warm, and the vibe relaxed yet thoughtful. The final bill was $50 for the five of us, more than fair for the quality of food, service, and the cause behind it all. If you’re in Battambang and want to enjoy delicious food while supporting a good cause, Jaan Bai is a must-visit.

Excellent meal! A “nice” but still very reasonably priced meal for when you’re getting a bit tired of street food. The food was delicious, some local dishes and other Asian variants, all very tasty and beautifully presented. The staff were extremely friendly and welcoming. Service was quick. And still affordable - we paid $31 for three small plates, 1 large plate, and 2 drinks (for two people). Definitely recommend!

Probably the best restaurant in Battambang, real cambodian food, superb quality and a very cozy atmosphere. We ate here twice. In one occasion we had the full set menu for 2 people recommended if you want to try a bit of everything. The second time we ordered a la carte. I particularly liked the dumplings and the lime cheesecake. Restaurant seems also a bit fancy but prices are not. We have been recommended this place by our hotel and it'seriously a must try. Again Reasonable prices for the quality you get.
Luca T — Google review
I went to this place because it came up on Google as ‘best restaurant in Battambang’ 😭. Menu is fusion, flavors beyond bland. Western prices of course, but I don’t care and am happy to have a decent glass of wine. Unfortunately, I’m pretty sure I bit into a torn off fingernail in my jackfruit taco. Picture included for you to judge- I only regret it’s not better due to the ‘mood lighting’ and my 5 yo phone, but yes it had the smoothed out ridges, thickness, hardness, and total lack of flavor of a fingernail. We’ve all bitten our nails before, we know what it is. I bit into this and immediately knew and spit it out. I complained to staff and they asked to see MY nails, for real. Then they picked it up, examined it carefully, went to the kitchen, and at some length came back with a piece of cooked garlic about the same size and color, and told me I was crazy, it was just garlic. Can you even imagine, they tried to gaslight a 40yo woman like I’ve never cooked or eaten garlic before, as if garlic isn’t an extremely easily identified taste and texture? I pretended to believe them, had the rest of my meal packed, finished my wine, paid, and tossed it as soon as I got home. Absurd, gross experience. Wear gloves in the kitchen.

Definitely my favorite lunch spot in Battambang. The food and desserts are delicious, and the service is great too. Highly recommend checking this place out!

Nary Kitchen is a popular spot in Battambang, Cambodia, offering a variety of local and Asian dishes. It's known for its Cambodian cuisine and vegetarian-friendly options. The restaurant has received positive reviews and is recommended for those looking to experience authentic local food in the area. Additionally, Nary Kitchen also offers cooking classes, making it an ideal destination for food enthusiasts looking to learn about Cambodian culinary traditions.
Had a great time at the cooking class - had a group of 7, and it was lots of fun. Toot was very amusing and explained all of the ingredients and what we were doing, all while being silly and goofy. You of course eat what you make and it was a filling meal! The menu is set for each class and you can make anything vegetarian or vegan but you need to speak up, because the standard recipes are with shrimp paste and meat/fish.
William R — Google review
An absolute incredible night with Toot & his family in their family restaurant. Toot kindly invites guests into his kitchen to become chefs for the night in their cooking lessons. For only $15 it is absolutely incredible. First we was taken to the local market to pick up fresh ingredients for our meal & was given a lesson on local produce by his Son, Canon. He spoke amazing english, was engaging & very happy to ask questions. We then went back to the restaurant to start our cooking lessons. The quality of ingredients offered was unbelievable for the cost of the lesson. Beautiful fresh spices, meat, fish & even utensils were unmatched. This place is the cleanest kitchen I’ve seen throughout Asia. The family is truly proud of their restaurant & it shows. We was taken step by step each step for each course. Everything made by hand down to the littlest detail. I cannot recommend Toots restaurant & his cooking class enough. Absolutely amazing. You should be so proud of your restaurant❤️

Absolutely amazing food and service! The owner Toon and his family are so kind, friendly, and of course excellent cooks and teachers! I took the cooking class and absolutely loved it. I appreciated how they were able to accommodate me as a vegetarian. I liked how we went to the market to get the ingredients. The cooking class itself was just such a cool experience! I went for lunch a few days later and the owner’s son was so kind. Everything is made from scratch and their vegetarian options (especially their Khmer curry) is DELICIOUS! I 100% this place! To add, I don’t eat boiled rice, so they were able to substitute with rice noodles, which were so delicious!

This restaurant was located right next door to our accommodation in Battambang. We visited here on multiple occasions as the food was fantastic and very reasonably priced. Toot the owner was also super friendly and stopped to talk about his restaurant and Battambang. We decided to take part in his cooking class- costing $15 per person. This was a wonderful experience starting with a trip to the local market to see the ingredients we would be using and have it all explained to us as some of the ingredients are very different to what we get in the UK. Then we cooked spring rolls, Amok, Lok Lak and a banana dessert. Toot took the time to explain each of the ingredients and explain the importance in Khmer cuisine. His level of English was exceptional and he was clearly very passionate about cooking. Overall I would recommend here for a good wholesome Khmer meal and definitely for the cooking class.

What a fantastic experience, cooking with Nary. A brilliant and informative visit to the market followed by an ace cooking lesson with Nary. The techniques were easy and fun but the food was so delicious. Brilliant value for money. Id definitely recommend this, if you're in town.

I discovered this hidden gem by accident and loved it so much that I extended my stay. They offer rustic, wooden cabins that have everything you need, right in the middle of nature and alongside the river. You can use the kayaks freely and paddle the loop around Paradise Island. A quiet little spot out of town that has a delightful restaurant and bar that overlooks the river. Nary Garden is a family business and the staff are so welcoming and friendly, attending to your every need. I can’t wait to return!

I had a wonderful solo class at Nary kitchen. The instructions were clear and patient, especially for someone with very little kitchen experience. I received a deeper appreciation for Khmer cuisine send cannot wait to share what I've learned with friends and family. Thank you for a wonderful experience, see you again soon!

Kinyei Cafe is a popular dining spot in Battambang, Cambodia, offering great breakfast and brunch options. Located just outside the town center, it provides a picturesque setting surrounded by rice fields and local farmers near an ancient village and bamboo houses. The cafe is open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, with happy hour starting at 3 p.m. In addition to serving delicious meals, Kinyei Cafe also functions as an art gallery.
Thank you! We came here twice in one day we enjoyed the food & atmosphere so much. I would recommend the passion fruit cake! The cafe alone is worth visiting, but especially as Kinyei sources responsibly grown coffee in SE Asia & is a social enterprise.

Kinyei Café is an excellent choice for breakfast, especially if you’re craving Western dishes. They offer a delicious selection, including bacon, eggs, and other classic morning favorites. Plus, their coffee is top-notch, making it the perfect spot to start your day with a great meal and a quality brew.

Lovely little cafe on the corner of the street looking out at some street art. Good menu with decent breakfast options and drinks. Very friendly staff.

Great cafe, had breakfast there twice in a row. Eggs benedict and Pancakes were both very good. Best flat white ive had in Cambodia too. Highly recommend. Nice to support a social enterprise and the staff are very friendly too.

First cafe I tried in battambang and I’m sure it’s one of the best in town! Delicious food and drinks! I love their Kinyei style omellete with salad! Serving is super big for one and I thought I wouldn’t finish but it’s so damn good that I wanna come back for breakfast everyday! I’m sure other food are great too! Hot chocolate is a lil bit sweet but it is so rich and I would love to reorder but much less sugar! Ambiance is so nice, rusty and traditional look upstairs, just no AC if you are looking for one. So best time to go there early in the morning or from the evening!
Being B — Google review
Lovely atmosphere and good western breakfast and lunch food. Prices are what you would expect for western food but I was very happy with the salmon bagel that I got. The coffee is good too, and staff are friendly. Calm and pretty place to work for a bit as well.
Rebecca L — Google review
Loved this little spot hidden away in the corner of street 1.5. The staff was brilliant, all students who partly work there to practise their English so we had some lovely conversations with them. The breakfast burrito was probably the largest burrito I've ever seen and delicious. Coffee was really good too, some of the best we've had in Cambodia. Highly recommend this place for breakfast or lunch.
Kevin P — Google review
The perfect spot to relax or work in the morning. Everyone is very nice, and the breakfast with toast and scrambled eggs is just perfect (2.75$) I am adamant to review the coffee as I found it too strong for my taste, too dark roasted and hard to finish, but it has been a consistent experience in Cambodia (2.15$)

Beautiful, laid back café. We came here for an afternoon sweet-treat and they totally delivered, everything was absolutely delicious. French toast banana bread was particularly good, still dreaming about it occasionally 😋 coffee also very good.

I had lunch here. I ordered a burrito. They have a build your own burrito order form which you can choose your type of rice, what meat you would like, the type of hot sauce and finally what vegetables inside. I also ordered the meal that came with chips and salsa and a drink. The chips were usual from a typical Mexican food chip, but they were not bad, just not the typical corn chip. The burrito was very large and had nice portions of all my ingredients I ordered. I also got the lime juice which was very tasty.

Good place and quiet, but the service is super slow, We were there 10 of us, ordered drinks and we have to wait 50+ minutes for our drinks to arrive. Staff are friendly, however they need to increase their speed of making drinks, there only 10 of us and several other customers were there at 11:00 AM. making should not take that long.

Cafe Eden is a charming bistro located along the tranquil riverside in Battambang. It offers a variety of seating options, including pavement, interior, and upstairs areas. The cafe boasts an eclectic menu with a wide range of breakfast items such as crepes, bagels, and tortillas, as well as lunch, dinner, and bar snack options featuring Thai, Khmer, Korean, Japanese, Chinese cuisines alongside pasta dishes, pizzas, burgers and sandwiches.
Four of us were driving north through Battambang at noon. We stopped at this place on the riverside. We were quite impressed although we were alone. By the time we were all ready to order, there were a few other guests. On the specials board we noticed Bibimbap Burger and Passion Espresso. I went with a lime juice, but two friends went for the unique concoction. We are all from Canada and were surprised to see Nanaimo Bars in the dessert shelf. YUMMY! We got a steak salad as well. The table had an interesting rock inlay, and there were clothes and souvenirs for sale. I recommend you go have a coffee at least. It’s worth it.

A lovely cafe to provide a reprieve from the heat. 3 of us ordered food. I had coffee and sweet potatoe fries. The coffee was good, but the fries were not crispy like fries, just a bit rubbery. My husband ordered the Lime Mint freeze and egg & bacon roll. His drink was good, but the bottom of the roll was stale & hard & you could use it to drive nails. My friend ordered the Lime Mint Cambodian lemonade and spring rolls. Hers were both ok.

Lovely cafe/restaurant. We came here on a Monday evening and we were the only customers. The place is spacious, very clean, and the staff were attentive and friendly. They accept cash and card. Prices were reasonable given the quality and quantity of the dishes. They had a mix of Khmer and western food. Would definitely love to come back for brunch.

Delicious food, generous portions, strong AC, cute little gift shop attached. All for a good cause. Need I say more? I wholeheartedly recommend the Lok Lak and the salads! Coffee is also excellent.
Sarah S — Google review
In the search for the good coffee, I stumbled upon this promising place. And while the place looked good and served decent coffee to my shock, simple Americans cost 2 $ . Big plus for a nice and clean bathroom , but I wouldn't go back unless the coffee was lifechanging, I can't see the reason why someone was to charge 2$ for a simple coffee in Cambodia . The service was great anyway😉
Ewa T — Google review
Cafe Eden has to be the best cafe in Cambodia let alone Battambang. I have enjoyed the food here a number of times. I have enjoyed group catering and also visited for dinner. Service is always fast and with a smile. If you living in town or just visiting out this cafe on your must visit list. Try the Philly steak or chilli tacos you won’t be disappointed. Location is also great as right next to the river and night markets.

I did a cooking class with Lily and his wife Savath, it was perfect! We went to the market to learn a little bit about their culture, then back to the restaurant to make all the dishes. Everything was explained super clear, with vegetarian and vegan substitutes. They also gave some Western substitute options in case we want to make the recipes at home. The atmosphere was super nice, I really enjoyed my time there, and everything turned out so delicious!! Highly recommend!

I went into this Khmer restaurant and I loved it. It’s a cute, clean, family-run spot, and the staff is super friendly. The food was amazing and everything was made fresh. I had a mango salad that was exactly how I like it—balanced perfectly without that overpowering vinegar you sometimes get. The fish amok was really tasty too; the fish was fresh and the gravy was creamy and full of flavor. I also enjoyed the freshly made fried banana rolls and a cup of black coffee. Another plus is that the lime juice is made fresh (not just a syrup), and I could order it unsweetened. And they have Wifi which is another plus, as I had to do some work. I didn’t attend, but I read that they offer cooking classes as well. Highly recommend checking it out when you are in Battambang.

I attended a cooking class with my family a few days ago. Both Lyly and his wife were really friendly, open and had a lot of knowledge which they shared with us. Also the team was open for our special vegan and vegetarian wishes, which made our experience perfect. Thank you!

Gorgeous food! A lovely family run business. Gutted we could only eat here for one night as we had great food. It was my first time trying tofu Lok Lak it was really tasty (a hint of bbq flavour). My friends really enjoyed their chicken Amok curry too. I’d defo recommend here if you’re in the area. They do a cooking class here for €19 p/p which we wish we had time to do as it looked so wholesome.

We have had an amazing experience. We went to the cooking class and after deciding which meals we wanted to cook, Lyly took us to the market and explained to us different things while offering us a snack for breakfast from the market. Then, Savath led us throughout the amazing cooking class while sharing with us information about traditions and culture in Cambodia. Then we ate what we had cooked: 3 meals and the dessert, provided with rice and as much bottled water as we needed. Both of them have been very kind and it has been such a nice and fun experience. We truly recommend it to everyone!!

After 3 months since visiting China, I was really craving some good Chinese food. I found this place on google maps and thought I’d give it a try for such a reasonable price and I was not disappointed! Very simple place but they are always the most authentic and delicious. For 8000R ($2/£1.60) you get any of the dishes on the menu (all the same price) AND a pot of tea. Probably the least expensive meal I have had during my time in Cambodia and one of the most delicious. I will definitely be coming back and trying various things on the menu!

Great food - simple and cheap without skimping on quality! Popular with locals and tourists. Ate here twice in one day :) The whole menu is basically priced at 8000 Riel ($2 / £1.60) You get 14 dumplings per portion which we thought was great! You also get a free pot of tea which was a nice touch.

Tucked away in the vibrant streets of Battambang, this open-front noodle shop is a culinary treasure that’ll leave your taste buds singing. The noodles and dumplings are crafted fresh right there, each bite bursting with authentic flavor. The portions? Generous enough to satisfy even the heartiest appetites. It’s a true hidden gem, but heads-up: Grab might lead you astray, so aim for Lucky Laundry to find this spot. The owner, a master noodle chef, is a character straight out of a classic kung fu film—complete with a thoughtful squint that adds to his charm. Don’t let his quiet demeanor fool you; his culinary skills are nothing short of magical, and he handles the hustle of the shop with a calm, confident ease. Every dish feels like a labor of love, from the perfectly seasoned noodles to the tender, flavorful dumplings. It’s the kind of place that warms your soul and makes you feel like you’ve stumbled into something special. This Battambang must-try is worth the trek, offering not just a meal but a memorable experience. You’ll leave full, happy, and already planning your next visit to this delightful, unassuming spot that’s as welcoming as it is delicious.

Delicious, vegetarian-friendly, and affordable - these are the best vegetarian dumplings I’ve had in Southeast Asia after several months here. I got the pan-fried ones but the steamed also looked delicious, and the vegetarian noodles were also solid and there is pepper to add to the dish to make it spicier! The meal also comes with jasmine tea. 8000 riel for the dishes.

The fried noodles are really good. The dumplings are a bit dry. And don't have much filling or flavor. Noodle soups are good but not my style. Comes w warm tea and all the sauces you need. The chopped garlic is nice with the soy sauce and black vinegar for dipping dumplings.

The best food we had in Battambang. Simple but very tasty. Super tasty noodle soup with dumplings and fried dumplings. We ended up ordering two plates of dumplings. You also get a pot of green tea for free. The owner spoke limited English but it actually doesn’t matter. Just point to items on the menu and smile. They make the dumplings fresh which you can watch if you choose a seat at the front. Go early if you can (5pm-ish), they sold out by the time we arrived at 7:30pm the previous day.

Stunning food for a vegan- also worth mentioning the lovely and lively young people working here 😊 Nicely decorated upstairs restaurant where art deco meeets fun folded napins in all colours. I enjoyed the view from the rooftop, observing the streetlife below. It is a relief that this restaurant doesn't play music. Had a freshly pressed orange juice and a vegetarian curry with cashews and many vegetables. It was very well cooked, cut and seasoned. Highly recommended!

Satisfied by all our food. It's very homey, it tastes authentic (I'm Khmer by the way). We're only ordered Khmer food, so I cannot speak for more western dishes (like the spaghetti? Which shouldn't even be on the menu imo). I'd also recommand their fruit shake! I loved mango/coconut, although they all taste fresh (we tried soursop, pineapple, coconut, mango, mango+coconut). The staff is very polite, caring and nice. It's a little bit on the pricey side for the locals, but still very affordable for foreigners. We've been multiple times when visiting Battambang!

White Rose, one of Battambong's few long-time remaining restaurants. We've been dining here for nearly 3 decades, and unfortunately our last 2 visits were rather disappointing. They seem to have lost their Battambong's flavors. We ordered 3 dishes and all 3 were rather bland. The fried fish didn't have enough seasonings and weren't crispy. The sour soup lacks the sourness of fresh squeezed lime and kop lacks the essence of Khmer's kreung. We informed the staff of the bland food and all they did was shrugged their shoulder.

Well deserved review score here. When I asked the question in a Facebook group for expats where is the place to eat in Battambang the recommendation was La Pizza. Had a mango smoothie that was decent, and the service especially stood out… They handled our big group (almost 40 people!) like pros, super accommodating and friendly. We’d definitely come back next time we’re in town.

Discovered this little gem and enjoyed a delicious half ‘n half pizza with a friend. Good size freshly baked at a reasonable price: $10.50. Can highly recommend.

Very nice place, we sat outside and the vibe was lovely. The staff are very friendly and the New York pizza was great, would recommend. Big love to their black cat too x

The food was delicious!!! One of the best pizzas I’ve had in SEA. The wine was delicious and very reasonably priced.

This restaurant exceeded our expectations with delicious food and cocktails, and we loved it so much that we visited this place two days in a row! The pizza was full of flavor and absolutely delicious, the cocktails were super tasty and everything was well priced. The atmosphere was great and the staff provided excellent service with a friendly and welcoming attitude. Highly recommended!

This pizza restaurant in Battambang offers a cozy atmosphere at a good and with a good selection of pizzas. The crust is crispy, and the toppings are fresh, with a variety of options to choose from. Good prices. Draft beer priced at $1. Service is friendly but can be slightly slow during busy times. Overall, a decent spot for a casual meal.

Vegetarian restaurant
Monorom Garden, formerly known as Mercy House, is a well-decorated vegetarian restaurant in Battambang that recently underwent renovations. The menu offers exclusively vegetarian options with some dishes containing egg. The cuisine is mainly Asian-inspired, featuring Korean and Japanese dishes like stone-pot meals and teppanyaki, as well as traditional Cambodian specialties such as basil fried rice and vegetarian lok lak.
I love this restaurant and visit regularly. The staff are friendly and there are a good selection of packaged veggie foods to buy there too. I especially like the kuy teow with veggie brisket for breakfast and anything with the soy chop.

We arrived in Battambang at 3:30 am. We had our heavy breakfast at this vegan restaurant. The food tasted good. But the rolls tasted so-so. Fast service. We have never eaten a big breakfast such as in the photo. The price as in the photo includes an iced latte & iced cappuccino was KHR68,000. To me, as a Malaysian, the price is expensive. The price is more for 4 people instead of 2.

We came here for lunch and had a bit of a mixed experience. We ordered Kueh teow, spaghetti and dumplings. The kueh teow was quite tasty, with big flat noodles, although the broccoli stalks had a slightly strange bitterness to them. The spaghetti was ok, however the dumplings were a huge miss. They came out at the end, with two of them already split. They were sadly really overcooked with skins that just fell apart. They had lost any resistance to contain the filling and were stodgy and gooey. I would avoid those. The rest was fine and the prices were good. Staff were nice.

Finding this restaurant was a happy accident! We had amazing hot pot with a red spicy & sour broth. Super delicious and lots of flavour! Tons of fresh vegetables with it, mock meat, and noodles. The small size was great for two people. We also ordered the sweet & sour tofu that was topped with papaya salad. I would highly recommend both dishes. Reasonably priced as well!

What a great restaurant. Food is absolutely amazing. I came here 3x during my short stay in Battambang. The menu is large, comprehensive, very unique. The crystal dumplings are so delicate. The veg brisket with greens is something extraordinary. I had great meals here, totally recommend It.

Food wasn't great. Edible but we won't be going back to try other dishes. Had the mock meat BBQ skewers and the rice wasn't very hot when served. The steamed dumplings were bland and didn't have enough filling. Japanese rice bowl didn't have any Japanese flavours in it.
Charmmy K — Google review
If you are a vegetarian visiting Cambodia you need to visit this restaurant! Best food I’ve had on my trip. The Lok Lak was amazing and I was so happy that I was able to try this traditional dish as in many restaurants it contains meat. I’ve never tasted mushrooms like the ones they make here. They are delicious! 100% would come back to Battambang just to eat here again. (Golden dumplings are also great!)

Good place for vegetarians. Very fast service. Some dishes are on the small size. We ordered the fried mushroom and lok lak, which was delicious. Low prices.

Transportation in Battambang

Trat Airport

Airport
Trat Airport is a charming and small open-air airport with 3 or 4 daily flights from Bangkok. It is owned by the airline, so prices for the 50-minute flight are relatively high. The airport offers quick arrivals and departures, a coffee shop, and the Bishon Lounge accessible to anyone making a purchase. There is also an ATM available.
Trat Airport offers a seamless and charming travel experience, showcasing true Thai hospitality. Bangkok Airways staff are impeccable—always welcoming with warm smiles. The airport is well-maintained, efficient, and stress-free. A highlight is the complimentary snacks, coffee, and beverages, adding a thoughtful touch to the journey. For a smooth and pleasant airport experience, Trat Airport and Bangkok Airways are simply outstanding!

It’s a tiny airport but actually it’s great! Only Bangkok Airlines flies from there twice a day. They have plenty of staff so it takes only a moment to check in and go through security. They were surprisingly thorough with security though, but it took no time, really. At the gate there are comfy, wide wooden chairs and they have free catering! Free muffin, pastry, popcorn and drinks (coffee, water, juice). They have lots of fans to cool down the place. They are super lovely as well!
Juliet O — Google review
Had such a great experience at this small airport. The staff speaks English very well, and everyone from the check in counter, security, to the staff from the complimentary snacks bar was perhaps the friendliest I’ve seen so far, smiling and welcoming, and the waiting lounge was very comfortable. The cleaning was impeccable, even at the toilets, which was nice as you don’t see that at many airports.
Delia S — Google review
Cutest airport I've seen. Really small but well maintained airport. The staffs are really professional and kind. Hospitality is top notch. We had unlimited snacks when waiting for the flight. They have transport services to and from the airport to piers and other places nearby.

The airport is great and outdoors. Not very busy and most staff is super friendly. BUT! Do not go to the lounge. It’s a terrible place with rude and slow service, bad choice of drinks and food. Check the lounges google reviews. Very bad. Better buy outside the lounge from the kiosk. The kiosk is well equipped, good prices and friendly employees. The lounge is a massive joke!

This airport is truly amazing. It's charming and small, and the staff is really friendly and welcoming. Visiting the airport is like going back in time, and it has always been a landmark for us when visiting the Trat area. It consists almost entirely of small buildings looking kind of like Bungalows, but it has all the amenities you would expect at an airport. There is only one gate, and you can see most of the runway and airport from the departure/arrival hall, it's really cool 😊 When waiting in the departure hall you get complimentary water and snacks 👌 Not all of the airport is air conditioned, but there are areas and lounges that have air conditioning (the arrival/departure hall only has fans).
Christer K — Google review
This might be one of the best airports that you will probably never see. It is so small cute and you are definitely a 1 oh one customer when you come through it it is beautifully decorated, and the customer service is one of one. They will even take you to kho Chang for right around $20 USD ferry transportation and all!

-Small airport serving mostly Bangkok I supposed. -Clean , comfortable and free snacks and beverages in waiting hall -Greenery everwhere with friendly staff around. -Mostly no air cond but fans is ok as the layout quite airy.

Siem Reap International Airport

Permanently Closed
International airport
Airport
Siem Reap International Airport serves as the gateway to the famous Angkor Wat temple complex, drawing in a large number of tourists despite its compact size. The city itself is a bustling hub with a lively nightlife scene and elegant French colonial buildings housing various shops and stores. Visitors can explore the Made in Cambodia Market for local food and artifacts or enjoy acrobatic performances at Phare, the Cambodian Circus.
Very beautiful airport! Extremely organized and well-run. The staff were all pleasant--even immigration. The only downside is that it's pretty far from the city center. The food court was also pretty limited early in the morning. Bathrooms are spic-and-span and also have lower sinks for little ones. There are several outdoor areas that you can escape to once you get through security--for smokers or anyone that just wants to be outside.

Beautiful, clean and very calm. The airport traffic is one of lighters I have ever seen in any other airport around the world. Staff is very nice and polite There is a good duty free shop and few good eating options as well. Very efficient and no waiting lines anywhere which makes it one of my favourite airports ✈️🫶🏼🥰🇰🇭
Dhanush S — Google review
Very new airport. Spacious. Not crowded. They have a nice golden statue on the middle after passing the immigration checkpoint. There is 1 souvenir shop, no restaurant, just a snack stand, outdoor smoking area, and a charging station. The bathroom is clean. Staff are all friendly and helpful.
Lucky B — Google review
I like an efficient airport without much fuss, I've reviewed as five stars based on this. The new airport is about an hour from the city and doesn't have much in terms of restaurants and shops but, if you don't need these luxuries this can be a great airport experience. This new airport is clean and well laid out, check in is quick and efficient although there are no self-serve options. Once past check in immigration and security are a breeze especially if compared to other SE Asian airports. The staff are wonderful, polite and helpful. Once airside there are a couple of stalls selling snacks and drinks at airport mark up, duty free (slightly more expensive than supermarkets: $19 for 200 Marlboro) and limited options for fashion and local goods. For smokers or those wanting a breath of air there are multiple outdoor terraces spread throughout the terminal which is a massive plus. There is a lounge available for $35 which I didn't try but looked very pleasant from the outside. Next time I will use this airport I will arrive 70 mins before my flight, breeze through and have a coffee on a terrace before boarding. There has been some criticism of the new airport being an hour from the city as opposed to the old airport which was only 5 minutes out. I asked about this and it is to allow larger, more efficient international flight to reach the city without damaging the nearby Ankor Wat temples. To me this feels like a reasonable and responsible trade off. Taxis into town are available for about $25.

If we build it, they will come? Beautiful new airport in the middle of some very picturesque Siem Reap countryside. You can enjoy the views during your long trip to/from the new Siem Reap International Airport. Looks like you may be able to get a good deal on the new condo towers going up in the fields. I was a passenger on one of the first flights on the first day of the airports opening. Operations seemed to work smoothly. + Nice clean new airport with good air conditioning + Friendly and helpful airport staff + New airport road is nice and well lighted - Very long and expensive taxi trip from Siem Reap city - No WiFi and poor internet service in this location at this time

Extremely clean and new. The shiniest floors I have ever seen at an airport. Efficient and well run airport. Staff very friendly. Check in and immigration a breeze. Picture taking and fingerprinting done upon arrival. If you're hungry, there is a food hall with Burger King, Dim Sum and Crushly. There is also The Coffee Club. If you have more time to spare, a lounge is available for $35pp us. Flights can leave earlier. Our flight left 35 mins before scheduled departure time. Getting to the main centre takes about an hour. We arranged an airport transfer through our hotel at a cost of $29us.

It's too small airport. But their service was lovely. Ground staff was very fast for baggage handling. Inside one of the big duty free shops. They sold a lot of things. Chocolate 🍫 Alcohol 🍸 Perfume Gift Items & cosmetics also. I was there in the summer. Their air conditioner service was too good. Keep going. But immigration officer was not well some county like Bangladesh. Their service disappointed me. They want tips also. Feel ashamed for their behaviour. Hope they will be solved ASAP.
Shaniat S — Google review
Extremely nice for a small city’s international airport. The down side about the airport is there are no jet bridges, all arrivals and departures are made from the ramp. Most of the arrivals and departures you can just walk into the building, however larger aircraft park near the end of the building and have bud service to the arrivals/departures area. The duty free area seem very large and plenty of over priced items you could have gotten in the city for less. Small food court, however, most places were open. You can also find a Hard Rock Cafe merchandise shop in the departures area. Lots of parking in the front of the terminal building. The airport is very close the the city center and it’s very cheep for taxi or tuk tuk to the city
