Jōgashima

Mentioned on
6 lists
Island
Nature & Parks
Jōgashima is a picturesque island located at the southern tip of Miura Peninsula, easily accessible from Yokohama. The island features an old Western-style lighthouse, restaurants, and stunning views of Mount Fuji. Visitors can explore Jōgashima Park to enjoy panoramic vistas of the Pacific Ocean and observe pine trees and seaside plants shaped by strong winds. One of the highlights is Umanosedoumon, a renowned rock formation on the island.
Beautiful spot on the tip of Miura Peninsula. Due to it being relatively difficult to access, it’s not very well known by international tourists, and has a very local relaxed vibe. The island feels more akin to Okinawa than to being just south of Tokyo. Blue sea, beautiful rock formations, lush greenery. If you’re looking for a nice day trip, this is a must.
Fox G — Google review
Great place for a day tour! Went hiking and the view from the observatory deck was great (too bad it was cloudy when we went) We hiked using the way on the beach side, great views but too many creepy insects on the rocks. 🤢 Not sure what they were but they looked like cockroaches..
Jami M — Google review
Jogashima is for everyone who want to escape the busy Tokyo even if just for a day. The smell of ocean in the air is all encompassing. The perfect place to reset.
Angelina H — Google review
Went last Saturday. It was sunny day and view was satisfying. Worthy day trip.
Loken — Google review
Jogashima Island is on the south part of Miura port. Small boats run between Miura port and Jogashima Island everyday. The trip is only 5 minutes. In the island, watch out the kite birds, they are always watching your food. From the island, you can see the Pacific Ocean and the rock beach. If you are lucky, Mt Fuji and Boso peninsular can be seen. The view from Glider Square (Glider Hiroba) is the best.
KICHI — Google review
There is very beautiful place! If it is not be raining you may see the Mt.Fuji
Go K — Google review
Bring a wetsuit and a snorkel for tons of fun! Water is super clear, plenty of rocks for fish to hide around
Joseph R — Google review
Beautiful views. Great place to spend half a day exploring the rugged shorelines. Maguro sashimi places near the bus stop are good.

Misakiguchi Station

Mentioned on
5 lists
Train station
Misakiguchi Station is the southernmost station on the Keikyu Line and serves as a gateway to Miura village. It is known for its connection to tourist destinations such as Misakiko, Jogashima, and the Keikyu Aburatsubo Marine Park. The area around the port offers a bustling atmosphere with restaurants specializing in tuna dishes.
It has a very great viewing spot from front of the platform.
Arima U — Google review
Famous for tuna fishing. No, I don't fish, I came here to complete the railroad line for my game, 'Eki-memo'.
Senkan K — Google review
Nice enough station, though there is not much around it.
H. M — Google review
It is just a normal train station.
Douglas P — Google review
Came here for a soccer tournament. Was not disappointed.

The luxurious cross-seat carriage (2100) often runs to Sengakuji, so it's recommended. You can see the seats being turned around, so it's a must-visit for train enthusiasts. (Translated by Google) This was a visit on June 5, 2025. It's not the southernmost station in Kanagawa (that's Yugawara), but it is the southernmost and last station on the Miura Peninsula side. It's reassuring to see that the station building hasn't changed much since long ago. The interior has been changed to a tuna design, though. It's a fun little station. It's quite a distance to the southern tip of the peninsula, but it seems that stations were not built further south for reasons such as nature conservation. I rented a bicycle, and the customer service was good, so I enjoyed riding around half the peninsula.

Nagai Uminote Park Soleil Hill

Mentioned on
4 lists
Park
Nature & Parks
Nagai Uminote Park Soleil Hill is a beloved destination for tourists and locals. It boasts a vast seaside area featuring vibrant flowerbeds, a charming boat pond, engaging playgrounds, and an endearing petting zoo. Additionally, the park offers the excitement of a Ferris wheel ride.
For English speakers, a fun park to bring your family too. A lot of activities for the little kids. The park in itself is free but most of the activities there you'll have to pay about 400 yen or more depending on the activity. There is a hill slide, train ride, petting zoo, ropes course, paddle row boats, go carts, archery, and more. There is a ticket booth usually right outside of the activity but it is all in Japanese so make sure you are choosing the right one. They do sell a bulk of 12 tickets for 4000 yen which saves you 800 yen if you are interested in that. You can spend most of the day there without doing any of the pay activity and just pay for parking too. Playgrounds are free and plenty of space for kids to run around. Just beaware the ticket booths are in Japanese so you'll have to know which one to buy. Also, the ticket booths currently don't accept the new bills so be careful if you have new ones. Also try to have 1000 yen bills as they don't accept 5000 or 10000. However there are exchange one near some ticket booths. Many people that comes here brings there own tent and set it up for the day to come back to and rest. Spaces are first come first serve. They also do have actual camping area and cabins to rent if want to spend the night there. Plenty of vending machine and places to grab food too. Worth checking out the strawberry soft cream which they have it right by the main entrance. Parking is about 1050 yen and they will scan your license plate when you go in. Highly suggested to pay for parking before entering the park as it can get backed up when leaving. Just remember the 4 numbers on your plate. They do accept credit cards at the machines, no English options of if you need help you'll need to seek assistance but it is pretty straight forward. Worth checking out and great day of outing. We will be back again!

Great family get away for a day or even to stay! The zipline was so much fun and you get an awesome view of Mt.Fuji if you are fortunate enough. Lots of stuff for the kids to do and yummy places to eat! The flowers were very pretty and well maintained.
Joshua B — Google review
A great park to take your whole family to include your pup! The dog park is also pretty nice. The play grounds are huge and the camp areas are pretty nice. Lots of parking and not too expensive.
William N — Google review
This park is amazing. We went as a group of adults and had a great time. No children needed to enjoy the park. During our time in Yokosuka area we went here twice. One of the days it was very rainy and we didn’t get to see the animals at the zoo, but rode the Ferris wheel and enjoyed the beautiful flowers. The staff was very helpful to English speakers and we felt comfortable enjoying the park. The sunny day we went, we got to see many of the animals, enjoyed the pedal boats, and the grilling experience. I’d recommend this place to those with children, solo travelers, even adults!!
Sofia S — Google review
Very beautiful, big and enjoyable place to go with family and friends. We had a great time and also fun activities to do with kids, consider bringing cash because you have to pay for ever activity.
Carla N — Google review
A massive park, very good for family picnic and couple date. I was there on Friday 15th August 2025, very crowded but you still can walk tho. Less foreigner tourists. Guess, the favorite spot is the sunflower garden for taking pics. Free entry, but you will have to pay to get into their small zoo. The condition of the zoo is kinda sad-gloomy and small for some animals. Shocking they have penguins, they do need cold space rather than outdoor cage. Pony has super small cage and lonely. Capybaras and big turtles have bigger space area to roam. Dogs also look so scared to people and just wait for food to appear. So sad. Vending machines and toilets are available anywhere. They have restaurants as well, Italian style and Japanese style. Ice cream spot is near to the entrance gate. But the bigger restaurant inside the park doesnt have english menu so it's not really "foreigner friendly" yet. So far the service was fast and helpful for me. The playground is so massive and many kind. Slide, gokart, mini roller coaster, ferris wheel, carousel, etc. Picnic ground also massive, no need to worry to get your own space. You can also do grill and they serve the store. I hope the souvenir store get improvement for various things, not just foods and toys.
Patricia — Google review
This is an amazing park for sunflower! Looks like it is opens only for summer but must to visit here! There are huge amount pf flowers around the park!!! Basically it is free to enter just need to pay for parking. There are some food places. If you have small kids, never get bored for them!!! Good place to enjoy slow and relax for family!! Enjoy!!

Jogashima Park

Park
Nature & Parks
Jogashima Park is a picturesque public park situated on the edge of Boso Peninsula in Chiba Prefecture. Encompassing nearly half of Jogasaki island, it is accessible via a connecting bridge to the mainland. The park features diverse flora, including wind-bowed trees and seasonal flowers such as daffodils and hydrangeas, creating stunning natural vistas. Visitors can enjoy leisurely walks along flat trails while taking in the scenic beauty.
Great place for a short hike and enjoy the ocean view and nature. Great for kids to run around and play by the rocks and tide pool. No playgrounds around but plenty of space for kids to run around and have fun in nature. The parking was 500 yen for a regular vehicle and the ticket is good for the day and can be used at any of the Jogashima parking lots. The hiking and walking trail from East end to West end is about 2km. Definitely worth checking out on a nice day with a good sea breeze. Many people come out here for wedding photos too. You can tell the spring time will be great once more flowers start blooming.
Jonathan K — Google review
Jogashima is, in my opinion, one of the best places to visit! I’ve been to Enoshima, Jogasaki, and other similar spots, but Jogashima stands out for its sheer size and breathtaking views. The area feels much wider and more open compared to other destinations, allowing you to truly soak in the beauty of the ocean and surrounding nature. It’s a fantastic spot for relaxing walks, photography, and enjoying the fresh sea breeze. If you’re looking for a peaceful getaway with stunning scenery, Jogashima is highly recommended!

Neat and clean park with green fields and lighthouse.
Md K — Google review
The park is huge. There is many place to sit and relax. Even there is water filling spot also. Inside the park, there are 2 observatory tower. When you enter you can see the big map Infront of you that clearly indicates all the information. Bird nest, restroom, playground, watch tower etc. I personally enjoy the sunset. You can see many mountain from the observatory deck.
Sadia O — Google review
Absolute beautiful place for day picnic. One of best photography spot. It has paid parking with toilet facilities. Beautiful Pacific Ocean view. This park remains open until 7pm in summer and 5pm in winter. Ample place for kids to play.
Durgesh M — Google review
This was a great place to take our kids. The parking is plentiful and inexpensive. The paths on top of the bluff are paved and very easy walking. There are some fun trails down to the shore although they were closed when we were there for to high waves. The observation deck and lighthouse both made for great views. From the comerant viewing area there is a trail that goes about a kilometer to the other lighthouse on the western end of the island. We'll definitely be back.
Knud H — Google review
A very beautiful place for a quick escape. The rock cliffs were really beautiful, people were fishing in the ocean. Overall mind refreshing place. But the path is not suitable for elderly people or people with wheelchairs. Also can be considered as a picnic place for friends and family.
Anika ( — Google review
Absolutely stunning place. I went during the week and I hardly saw anyone. I walked through the park area and then down to the cliffs and then the lighthouse and then back to where the beach area is with the arch next to the ocean and it was super tranquil. You can bring your dogs here on leash and there is even a dog park. I highly recommend this place but two days after visiting my legs are still sore from all the climbing I did on the cliffs and from all the stairs I climbed. I will definitely be back

Misaki Port

Mentioned on

Port authority
Misaki Port is a charming fishing town located on the Miura coast of Kanagawa, offering a serene escape from the hustle and bustle of Tokyo. Known as Japan's tuna town, it boasts an early morning fish market where visitors can indulge in fresh seafood. While the official market concludes at 9 a.m., many stalls remain open until late afternoon, allowing ample time to explore and savor the local catch.
We arrived at the market around 6am and it wasn’t so busy at all so we have enough time to look around and see whats inside and get what we want. It was a good experience . I’d love to visit this place again.

(Translated by Google) It is a fishing port for tuna fishing and is one of the largest on the base. Because tuna arrives at the port frozen, there are many frozen warehouses, and the famous tuna sold at restaurants and local produce stores around the port is frozen. For this reason, most of the saku sold is in an unfrozen state, so it is safe to take home as a souvenir, but be careful as the quality may deteriorate depending on how you defrost it. Frozen tuna is sold at public markets as well as private stores, and the price difference within public markets is small. Tuna tripe and other items are also on sale and are worth a look. Private stores have their own special features based on the parts and parts of the meat, so it's best to visit multiple stores before making a purchase. These stores also have it already defrosted. On holidays, there are so many people that it can be difficult to park your car. Restaurants that specialize in the famous tuna can vary in quality to a surprising degree, so you should check their reputation in advance.

Keikyu Aburatsubo Marine Park is a small but delightful marine park with aquariums that house various sea creatures, including sharks. Visitors can enjoy feeding encounters and even have the opportunity to touch some small sharks. The area around the port is bustling with tourists who come to savor tuna dishes at specialized restaurants and explore scenic Jogashima. Upon arrival, guests receive a map suggesting which animals to see first based on their feeding or show times.
Nice place to visit, I enjoy the show with dolphins, highly recommended......

Nice little Marine park. Kids really enjoyed the fish and the show. Beware of the hawks flying around the area, they'll swoop down and take any food from your children's hand.
Thomas T — Google review
this is an old famous aquarium. It is is a bit small one. It is closing this Sep. If you visit here, you'd know and feel why closing.
Groundhoggie — Google review
Great place for kids. Reasonable prices. Sea lion and dolphin show was amazing and just long enough to hold the attention of small children.
Robert W — Google review
Entrance fee and parking fee are a bit expensive but the indoor Dolphin show alone is worth it! Smaller aquarium, nice to not rush to see everything.
Rashell C — Google review
After a confusing bus ride and expensive ticket prices, what awaited was a fairly sad and small marine park. There was very little diversity among the species and the facilities were quite old. You could tell that the animals were tired and from speculation if there being no viewable dolphin tank the aquarium’s caretakers are slacking. They did their best for the shows and use the otters to try and promote the park, but with such old facilities its hard to enjoy as an adult. For small children who are energetic it would be fine as they have other small means of amusement. I remember coming here as a kid when it was still alive, I long to feel that sensation from somewhere with memories of my grandparents. With money and newer facilities this would be nice despite being small. I don’t recommend for families with children over 8.
Jake F — Google review
A small aquarium. Good to stop by with kids when visiting Miura area.
N.Macchan — Google review
It's small but my kid loves it! you also get to touch some small sharks..etc. at the entrance you can get a map with suggestions for which animals you should go see first according to their feeding/show times. My family always get there a little before noon and have lunch at the restaurant inside the aquarium and then start from there and we get to see everything!

The Kainan Shrine is an astonishing and captivating destination that holds great significance. It offers a plethora of delightful presents like toys, utensils with chopsticks, and even a stone for okuizome. The atmosphere exudes positive vibrations, while the divinations provided prove to be remarkably precise. This remarkable place in Miura has garnered much favoritism among visitors. Established during the 9th century, this shrine is conveniently situated just five minutes away from the Misaki Port bus stop.
Amazing and beautiful place. We had 宮参り for our daughter here. After 宮参り we got many little and useful gifts: toy, dishes with chopsticks and stone - for okuizome and so on. There is good energy around. The predictions are accurate. This is one of my favourite place in Miura

Miura Beach

Outdoor Activities
Miura Beach, situated in Miura, Kanagawa Prefecture, is a stunning coastal area renowned for its sandy beaches and crystal-clear blue waters. It offers various recreational activities and designated spots for beachside barbecues. The beach is known for being less crowded compared to other seaside resorts on the Miura Peninsula, making it an ideal escape from bustling tourist areas. With calm waves perfect for families with children, this low-key beach provides a relaxing environment away from city congestion.
I have been to this Beach few times each summer. It’s a white sand Beach. Not crowded and ideal location for family visit with kids for a relaxing time because it’s not over crowded. Beach is clean though some visitors has left cans and bottles here and there which is a mistake of visitors. Nearby many shops are there like McDonalds , KFC , Coco’s , Pizza-la and convenience stores like seven eleven , family mart and Mini Stop . Parking is very close to the beach and costed 1500 Yen for 4 and half hours and all the time I went there could find space for parking . Overall it’s a lovely beach with white sand and clean and not overcrowded with many shops close by . Can see many people swimming and surfing too . Also having toilet facility nearby beach . Negative point about this place is that could not find shower room as it’s crucial after a sea bath and some shops that sells different food and drinks and rent tents / chairs and stuff like in Kamakura beach also not available here in this beach but apart from that it’s a lovely place . Hope this helped some of the visitors who wanted to visit this place and can plan your visit accordingly . Thank you and enjoy your visits and be safe always Guyz.

Quiet and not very crowded. Sea water is not that clean but it's ok. There are many shade tents and chairs kept to use free. It's just 5 minutes walk from miurakaigan station on KEIKYU line towards misakiguchi station. Good to visit in summer.

nice beach to have a long walk. there were many ppl doing kite surfing. (THE WIND!!!) thanks to random person who showed me a perfect kite surfing. he was flying. overwhelmed!! hope he can find these pics.
N K — Google review
It is a nice beach. A bit too far from central Tokyo, but if you live close by then you're definitely lucky. It wasn't crowded on Saturday even though the weather was amazing. There's a bathroom, convenience store, a coffee shop, and a few restaurants close to the beach. The water was really dirty tho! A lot of trash and a lot of dead jellyfishes, for some reasons. The sunset was majestic.
Yona C — Google review
Beautiful beach. Many foreigners visit, and it becomes crowded on holidays. Parking costs ¥400 per hour.
Harunor R — Google review
Its a nice and accessible place to be close to the sea, but the waves were too strong to get in. There was a lot of fishermen in there and some people doing kite surfing, but no one was in the water. The sand is not white, it’s a bit tick and it smells like fish. But it was calm and maybe just not the best weather 🤷🏻‍♀️

A very beautiful forest that clearly has been well taken care of. On the way back, we encountered a strange creature that is visibly with skin disease. We’re not sure if it is an abandoned stray dog or a hairless raccoon. As foreigners, it is very sad that we don’t know how to help this poor creature. We had taken pictures and sent them to the management of this forest. Hoping it gets help from them. Sadly, many passing by Japanese locals don’t seem to care about it.
Mae W — Google review
(Translated by Google) When I lived in Miura, I often came here for walks. The chorus of Japanese bush warblers in spring, the choir of cicadas in summer, and the buzzing of hornets in autumn all warmly welcome visitors. In winter, the landscape becomes desolate, covered in dead grass. Many different types of dragonflies can be seen. Further in, you'll find crabs in the streams and ponds. And, very occasionally, rabbits. And, again, very rarely, families with dogs will appear, even though pets are prohibited. Even more rarely, you'll also come across groups of Chinese tourists chatting nonstop. And even more rarely, I've encountered a caretaker? He's trying to sell me a thin book costing over 1,000 yen, saying, "Hey, hey, you walk around here a lot, don't you? So buy this. It's a book about forest creatures." I thought it was a wonderful space, colored by a diverse ecosystem. The varied scenery also makes the walking time and distance not a burden. As the warning sign at the entrance says, the number of bees is unbelievable in autumn. I've never visited in autumn without hearing the buzzing of bees. Even if you're careful, it seems like there's nothing you can do if you're attacked... Once, I passed through Akategani Square and came out onto the north ridge, but it seemed like a place rarely visited, and it was covered in spider webs. The exposed slope was also quite steep.

URARI Seafood Market

Fresh food market
Market
URARI Seafood Market is a small but special market that focuses on tuna and offers locally grown vegetables as well as convenient seafood snacks. It's considered the gem of the port, with a history dating back to the Showa era when significant advancements were made in the fishing industry. The market has modern facilities including ultra-low temperature fridges. Visitors who are early risers can experience the excitement of witnessing auctions for fresh fish during the early morning hours.
Cute sea foods market, very interesting! We enjoyed our visit in this market, we meet a gentleman very friendly, he speak English we bought a small lunch bag cooler to him.

Am definitely gonna come back here for tuna supplies. The cost of tuna cuts are so much cheaper than at supermarkets and there are some food stalls with snacks, souvenirs and fresh produce too. Stopped by a meat and sesame bun shop which have tuna in the filling - tasty and nice umami flavor. As well as a couple delicatessan stalls with various fried food. Enjoyed the Tuna croquette. There are also some crane games and vending machines too if you need them and some spaces to sit. On the other side is the lovely port where you can enjoy the view and check out the boats docked here. Great place to visit on your trip to Misaki port.

It isn’t big place but has sufficient tuna on the ground floor. Shop keepers are very friendly and they sell different parts of tuna, sometimes quite rare such as head, cheek and tail. Most of them are frozen and quite expensive for its quality. There are some shops that grills fresh sea shells and fish for take-away. What’s good is the first floor where local fresh vegetables are sold. The vegetables are so fresh, large and very cheap. You can also buy local beers, local beef (high quality Hayama beef but frozen) and fresh fruit juice. The place also has a terrace (inside with air-conditioner and outside with a ocean-view), no table charge. You can bring up the take-away fish from the ground floor. It is better to arrive before 09:00 in order to avoid items sold out in the shops and what’s more important...traffic jam. This area is famous for the nasty road congestion and if you don’t reach here before 09:30 or 10:00, you will be stuck. Car parking spaces are limited and usually full before 09:30. You will get a car park discount ticket if you buy over 2,000 JPY in one shop (you cannot aggregate the amount from different shops.) 1 -1.5 hour should be enough to enjoy this place. There are many fish shops and restaurants in the area and may be it is nice just to walk around.

Kaisen

Conveyor belt sushi restaurant
Sushi restaurant
Kaisen is a sushi restaurant that offers a variety of nigiri-style tuna, mackerel, and shrimp sushi on a conveyor belt, along with meal sets and rolls. The establishment has implemented thorough COVID-19 safety measures. It's conveniently located within walking distance from the train station and provides nearby parking options. The menu includes an English version for non-Japanese speakers. Customers can enjoy deals on chu and otoro cuts of tuna.
Amazingly fresh and delicious. I received a local fish set and the special set. I saw other reviewers add on the oyster gunkan and the "big 3" and I followed along too. Oyster gunkan was especially delicious and packed with flavours of the sea. I now have another reason to come to Miura.

It was an ok sushi place. The best recommendation I can give is get the maguro plate. It has all the best stuff. The other stuff is a bit of a mixed bag but the maguro ones are good. The soup I ordered didnt have a strong of a taste as I expected. It was ok I guess

We went for tuna because it is supposed to be good down in this area. Kaisen was apparently featured on a TV show, so it gets regular visitors due to recognition. Overall it was fine. Sushi was good and relatively inexpensive. Apparently people come to this area to pick oranges and visit the beach. It would have been nicer if the weather was a bit warmer but we could see the appeal.

A great sushi place that has taken every precaution regarding COVID-19 protection. The fish selection is great, English menu available, the sushi comes quick, and the service was solid. If you love tuna, you’ll appreciate the deals on chu and otoro cuts of tuna. I’ll definitely be coming back! It’s within walking distance from the train station and there’s RePark coin pay parking nearby too.

A conveyor belt sushi restaurant in the city of tuna. If you want to eat lots of cheap and delicious tuna, this is the place to go. With a wide variety of local fish, this may just be the best conveyor belt sushi restaurant in the Kanto region. I love this place and would love to recommend it, but to be honest, I don't want other people to come because I would hate to not be allowed in. The downside is that it gets crowded when there are too many people, but it's a great restaurant that I would recommend to close friends.

Good sushi restaurant. I can’t say it’s the best. Food was served in a timely manner. You are limited to dine in an hour due to corona. Alcohol is served. There’s free tea and ginger. Toilet was clean. A little bit pricey for me considering it was a local area. Oh and the sushi chefs looked younger than your typical sushi restaurants or any Japanese restaurants (just noticed).

Nestled in a charming back street near Misaki Port, まるいち食堂 is a delightful culinary gem that beckons seafood lovers. On my recent visit, I was pleasantly surprised to find no wait on a bustling Saturday afternoon. The restaurant features cozy tatami rooms and comfortable tables, creating an inviting atmosphere for diners.
まるいち食堂 is an excellent restaurant located in Misaki Miura Kanagawa Prefecture. The food is absolutely amazing! There are so many options from sashimi to buri to aji and so much more. We enjoyed sashimi and buri and other items. The service is fast! You can wait in line to sit inside or you can sit in the outside area, which is quite shady. There are fans and plenty of water. You can get your meal faster too! The atmosphere is great. The owners are very friendly. Maruichi Shokudou has been in business for 70 years as a fish shop. The restaurant has been open for 15 years. The owner kindly allowed me to park in front of her home. This shop should be a five star. Why? It's original and family owned. No complaints. Looking forward to the next opportunity to go here. Thank you Maruichi Shokudou!!'

I'd just caught a horse mackerel and a Japanese yellowtail. But the portions were amazing. To be honest, it wasn't as neat as a sushi restaurant, and the taste was a bit bland, like someone who was skilled at filleting fish like me had done it.

$$$$affordable
Seafood restaurant
On April 13, 2018, a group of friends visited the seafood restaurant 鮮味楽 using the "KEIKYU Misaki Maguro Pass". Despite arriving near closing time, they were warmly welcomed by the accommodating staff. The manager, who may also be the owner, engaged in friendly conversation with them and displayed exceptional hospitality. The food that arrived was served in generous portions and consisted of incredibly fresh Maguro (tuna).
Here is I think one of popular Sushi & MAGURO restaurant in MISAKI area now. Located in just next to URARI-Marche, so quite easy to access from the center of MISAKI harbor. I ordered “Medium Toro Bowl”and my colleague ordered “MAGURO Bowl”. Medium Toro is really yummy and best- matched with vinegared rice. MAGURO Bowl includes many kind of different part/ style of Tuna and my colleague said all of these are tasty and satisfied enough! Price settings are a little bit high overall but worth to come, I think.(Note: only cash is acceptable)

3 mins walk to this fantastic restaurant from the bus stop. Very satisfied when the kind, older waitress was patient with the occasional non-working google translation. Loved the sushi rice bowls that we ordered separately. Superb Japan grown rice!! Upstairs is a room with tatami mats for multiple groups of 4. Ordered 3 plates of fried oysters (very flaky, tasty and juicy - perfecto), omakase sushi, sushi sets and fried tuna here and there.

My friends and I were here on 13 April 2018 using the "KEIKYU Misaki Maguro Pass". As we were approaching the store, we asked if they could still accept us n they graciously welcomed us despite that they were closing for the day. While waiting for the food to arrive, the friendly manager (maybe owner) came over to chat with us. She was really hospitable. When e food arrive, e portion looks very generous. Maguro was REALLY fresh. It was SO GOOD. Best part of the evening was as we were finishing our dinner, we were given free ice cream! For being their last customers of the day. It was really a pleasant surprise! Do consider using the KEIKYU Misaki Maguro Pass's meal ticket @ 鮮味楽 (Sen Mi Raku) if you are visiting Misaki with the train pass.

Tastes pretty good, but a bit too pricey. Though you may be able to find better restaurants in Tokyo, it’s totally ok to visit this while you’re traveling around this area. Note that it’s likely to be crowded to some extent especially in weekends, and staffs are friendly “in a sense” - it’s not necessarily comfortable for everyone.

Nice little place where you can spend your misaki maguro kippu meal ticket (B). The cafeteria is located on the second floor of the fish market, which you can access via the staircase at the front of the building. If you are using a meal ticket, just pass it to them - that will get you their "maguro kippu" set which is mixed sashimi + a fried item + rice and miso soup. If you're not using the ticket, note that they only accept cash payment. After making payment, they will pass you a tiny receipt with a number on it. When they read the number (in Japanese), you collect your food. It's all self-service including water/tea. Food quality is excellent, albeit very similar to other places in the vicinity.

McDonald's Miurakaigan shop, a renowned and enduring fast-food franchise celebrated for its savory hamburgers and crispy fries, offers an extensive menu designed to appease breakfast enthusiasts as well. Situated in a spotlessly pristine environment on a weekday morning, the establishment unfortunately lacked the vibrant azure sky that one might hope for at such an early hour. Surprisingly, their diverse offerings also included delectable macarons; among which, the peach and vanilla variations stood out as particularly enjoyable.

Sushi was tasty but neither generous nor special, while the cost was at least double what it should have been. Astonishingly overpriced.

(Translated by Google) This sushi restaurant was recommended by a friend. This is a great restaurant with a children's menu and parking available. The most important thing was that the food was delicious and worth the price. The kama is especially delicious. It's been a long time since I've had a taste that moved me. Since we went late at night, the items we wanted to eat were out of stock, but it might be a good idea to go a little earlier. The atmosphere is quiet and calm, so it may not be suitable for those who want to have fun. Restaurants around here tend to be more expensive than the market price as they have tourist prices, but this restaurant had acceptable taste and prices. Why not go there once?

(Translated by Google) I visit here regularly as part of my Misaki drive. When I visited for the first time in a year during Golden Week in 2025, perhaps because rice prices were rising or because there were many customers during the long weekend, I ordered the same special sushi as usual, but I was disappointed to receive a pathetic-looking roll and salmon roe that was so thin you could see the rice. The roll was at the level of conveyor belt sushi. The tuna was good as always and delicious, but if I had been served such terrible sushi on my first visit, I definitely would not have returned. This was the first time I was shown to the upper floor during a busy time, but maybe this is how the upper floors are treated. When it was empty and I had it at the counter, the craftsman carefully made the sushi and served it one by one, which was very good, so the gap this time was a shock. (Of course, I don't expect this kind of treatment when it's crowded, but if the sushi and rolls are not at a level that can be called a specialty store, I want to complain.) I will avoid busy periods next time, but I hope to get proper sushi then. It is out of the question that the quality of the food served to customers should vary significantly from day to day.

There was a children's menu, but my daughter doesn't like eggs, so we ordered tuna sushi, which she said was so delicious she ate it in no time, lol. My husband and I each ordered the special sushi and special chirashi. The tuna was delicious, of course, but I was very satisfied with the ark shell and sea urchin, which were both delicious!

Narita International Airport

International airport
Airport
Narita International Airport is a major airport serving the Tokyo area, with direct rail access to the city. Travelers can easily reach central Tokyo using the JR Pass, which is also convenient for exploring popular tourist spots within Tokyo. Narita City, home to the airport, is a hub connecting Tokyo with the world and offers attractions such as ancient temples and nearby historical towns. Visitors with limited time or layovers can explore these nearby attractions easily accessible from the airport.
Well organized airport that’s easy to navigate. Check-in and security are usually smooth and the staff are helpful. There are plenty of shops and restaurants inside so waiting for your flight isn’t boring. Facilities are clean and comfortable, and the transportation options to and from Tokyo are very convenient. Overall a good airport experience whether you’re arriving or departing.

One of the best airports worldwide. Comfortable seating. Tax free shops. Clean and comfortable toilets. Appreciated the Pokémon store and the many food options. Excellent boarding experience. The vending machines sell drinks at the same price you would find them outside the airport.

Narita International Airport truly lives up to Japan’s reputation for efficiency and hospitality. From the moment I arrived, the staff were polite, helpful, and always ready to assist. The entire airport is clean, well organized, and easy to navigate, even for first-time travelers. Security and immigration processes were handled smoothly, with clear signs in multiple languages guiding passengers every step of the way. The waiting lounges are comfortable, and the wide selection of shops and restaurants makes any layover enjoyable. What stood out most was the calm atmosphere and the thoughtful touches everywhere—from spotless restrooms to convenient charging stations and reliable free Wi-Fi. Transportation options to and from Tokyo are also very convenient, with express trains and airport buses that run on time. Overall, Narita Airport offers a world-class travel experience that reflects the warmth and precision of Japanese culture. I would gladly travel through Narita again.
Aldrich L — Google review
Had a layover at Narita Airport, and the experience was smoother than I expected for such a busy international hub. One thing I really appreciated was not having to go through security again when transferring from one flight to another, which made the connection much less stressful. Maybe that’s more of a Japan airport standard, but either way, it made the layover feel a lot easier. The airport was very busy, but it still felt organized, with staff directing people efficiently. The ceilings throughout the terminal were noticeably low, and after a long international flight, it added a bit of a claustrophobic feeling as I moved through the corridors. Restrooms were extremely clean. It was much cleaner than most airports I’ve been to. I also liked the kiosks where you could ask questions in English, which were clearly marked and easy to find. Signage overall was solid, and even with the crowds, I didn’t have much trouble finding my connecting gate. The only downside is that gates seem to change frequently, so it’s important to keep an eye on the monitors. Seating areas were fine but filled up quickly due to the constant flow of passengers. Overall, Narita is busy and a bit tight in certain areas, but the efficiency and cleanliness make the layover experience manageable. Efficient: Yes First-Time Friendliness: Yes Would I Return: Yes JY review

Amazing airport. As a tourist, I found my experience here very well accommodated for. Staff were very hospitable and reliable. Airport is very easy to navigate with information desks scattered all over the terminals in multiple languages. There are convenient bus links right outside the arrivals gate that go to Tokyo station for a very affordable price. In addition, a 7eleven atm that is compatible with most western foreign master and visa cards to withdraw yen as cash. Lots of shopping options available for last minute gifts. Departing can be a bit tricky. There are 3 terminals and can ask the staff or read the electronic display to know which flight your flight is leaving from. Terminal 1 isn't attached to terminal 2 and 3, so consider coming 30min earlier in addition to the 3 hours in case your flight departs from terminal 1. Narita airport is very efficient and well thought out. Only recommendation would be more online resources available in multiple languages for foreign visitors to learn how the buses work before their travel as most bus workers weren't fluent in English when attempting to help. Highly recommend Visit Japan Web for foreigners to get the QR code for express entry. The government has been doing an amazing job helping as visitors feel welcome.

Narita Airport, officially known as Narita International Airport (NRT), is one of Japan’s busiest airports, located in Narita, Chiba Prefecture, about 60 kilometers (37 miles) northeast of central Tokyo. It serves as a major hub for international flights to and from Japan. Narita Airport has three terminals: 1. Terminal 1 • International Flights: Primarily for international carriers. • Facilities: It is the largest terminal and houses numerous amenities like shopping, dining, and duty-free stores. The terminal is divided into North Wing and South Wing and is home to major airlines like Japan Airlines (JAL) and All Nippon Airways (ANA), as well as other international airlines. • Transportation: You can easily reach the terminal from the airport’s train station, and there are numerous buses, taxis, and shuttle services that connect Terminal 1 with other parts of the airport and Tokyo. 2. Terminal 2 • International and Domestic Flights: This terminal serves both international and domestic flights, with a strong emphasis on international airlines, including Delta Air Lines, United Airlines, and Air Canada, as well as Japan’s ANA. • Facilities: Terminal 2 is known for its spacious layout and more relaxed atmosphere compared to Terminal 1. You’ll find an array of food and shopping options, as well as relaxation zones. • Transportation: Terminal 2 is also well connected by buses and trains. It’s often considered slightly less crowded than Terminal 1. 3. Terminal 3 • Low-Cost Carriers: Terminal 3 is dedicated to low-cost carriers (LCCs), such as Peach Aviation, Vanilla Air, and other regional airlines. It was built in 2015 to accommodate the growing demand from budget airlines flying into Japan. • Facilities: While Terminal 3 is smaller and more basic than the other two terminals, it offers essential services like food stalls, retail shops, and free Wi-Fi. Despite its simplicity, it has a modern design and efficient layout. • Transportation: There is a shuttle bus service that connects Terminal 3 with the other terminals and the rest of the airport. Connecting Between Terminals: The terminals are connected by free shuttle buses that run regularly, and you can also walk between Terminal 1 and Terminal 2 (about a 10-minute walk). However, if you’re flying internationally, you’ll likely need to go through security and customs when transferring between terminals.

It's a busy time with a lot of tour groups from China and Korea, so it's chaotic both on arrival and departure. You'll have to walk quite a distance to find your gate. If you want to buy branded products, I recommend buying them from an outlet or department store, so you don't miss out on the opportunity. If you buy them at the airport, you might miss out on the opportunity.

Haneda Airport

International airport
Sights & Landmarks
Haneda Airport is a waterfront airport that serves the Greater Tokyo Area and offers direct rail access to the city, as well as free WiFi. Travelers can take the Keikyu Limousine Bus to Yokohama Station and transfer to the Yokosuka Line or Shonan Shinjuku Line to reach Kamakura Station, which takes about an hour.
Flight was excellent, airport is massive but the process of getting off, going through customs and grabbing our luggage was phenomenal! So well organized. Be prepared to go through miles of transit to get places with very fast, paced people moving in a quick manner. Loved flying over the city before landing. Just amazing.

Many information desks and welcome Centers to make navigation easier, especially for tourists. Very helpful and courteous airport staff. It's connected to the railway stations on the lower floors and there are also restaurants and convenient stores. There are comfortable seats available around the airport as well as h charging stations. Many vending machines and claw machines.

📍 Haneda Airport 羽田空港 @ Japan 🇯🇵 Haneda Airport continues to impress me every time I travel through it. The entire airport is clean, modern, and very well-organised, making both arrival and departure smooth and stress-free. Many of the staff can speak English, and there are also Mandarin-speaking staff, which makes communication easy for international travellers. Everyone we met was polite, helpful, and attentive, always ready to guide passengers with clear instructions. The design and structure of the airport layout are thoughtfully planned — signage is clear, walkways are smooth, and the flow between immigration, baggage claim, and transport is very efficient. There are plenty of food options, convenience stores, and resting areas, making the airport comfortable even during longer waits. For travellers renting a car, the pickup process is straightforward with convenient access to major expressways. One improvement I would suggest is to bring in more last-minute shopping brands, especially for travellers who come for activities like hiking or sports. Having stores such as ABC-MART, outdoor gear shops, or basic hiking essentials would be very helpful and much appreciated by many travellers who need quick, last-minute purchases before heading out. Overall, Haneda Airport remains one of the best, most user-friendly airports in Asia — clean, efficient, easy to navigate, and supported by multilingual, friendly staff. A perfect airport experience from start to finish. ✈️🇯🇵✨

Tokyo Airport❤️💕👍 Tokyo Airport is one of the best airports I’ve ever travelled through. Everything runs with quiet efficiency. The staff are polite, patient, and always ready to guide you with a smile. Their professionalism sets a high standard. The airport is extremely clean. Floors, seating areas, washrooms, everything feels fresh and well-maintained. Security checks are respectful and quick, without any unnecessary hassle. Food options are amazing, from Japanese meals to international choices. The service is fast, hygienic, and the ambience feels calm even during busy hours. Shopping areas are well-arranged, and duty-free is worth exploring. Navigation is simple thanks to clear signboards. Whether you’re arriving or departing, the process moves smoothly. Transport options like trains, buses, and taxis are right outside, making travel super convenient. The overall design and atmosphere are peaceful, with big windows offering beautiful views of the runway. It’s the kind of airport where you actually enjoy waiting. Highly recommended for a comfortable, safe, and world-class travel experience.

Haneda Airport is the closer and more convenient gateway into Tokyo, and it served us beautifully on our Oct/Nov 2025 trip. It’s easy to navigate, brimming with shops and restaurants, and wonderfully straightforward when it comes to taxis and rideshares. Our one curious observation came on departure day: you’re dropped off at the departures level… only to immediately queue for one of three elevators just to reach the second floor JAL check-in counters for luggage drop and boarding passes. A bit of a bottleneck in an otherwise well-oiled operation. Beyond that quirk, every staff member we encountered was gracious, helpful, and polished. The main terminal is vibrant and pleasant, and the JAL First Class Lounge is a world unto itself - spacious, serene, and generously stocked with meals, snacks, and drinks that could make you forget you’re in an airport at all. If you’re flying out of Haneda, I’d give yourself a comfortable three hours. That leaves you enough time to glide through check-in, handle security, and still wander the shops or enjoy one last proper Japanese meal before boarding your plane.

Haneda Airport is very beautiful and incredibly well-organised. There are plenty of food options and even designated smoking areas, which made the wait super comfortable. They also have limited-edition Haneda Airport Pikachu Pokémon in a vending machine, which was such a cute surprise! The staff were so accommodating - I couldn’t find the convenience store (jet lag + brain fog had me thinking I was on level 1 when I was actually on level 3 😅), and an officer not only gave directions but even walked me all the way there to make sure I got there safely. Amazing service!

Haneda Airport Terminal 1 is clean and easy to move through, with helpful staff and good services. It’s comfortable for travelers, but the facilities and shops in Terminal 2 are better and more modern. Still, T1 offers a smooth and pleasant airport experience.

The first time I went here was the first time I traveled abroad and I was amazed by how amazing it was. The airport is built out on sea and is crazily massive, the employees are helpful and enthusiastic, as expected of Japan. And the cleanliness, modern, and attention to the vulnerable people, all combined to make this a world class Airport.
