Mountain peak
Sights & Landmarks
Mount Fuji, the iconic snow-capped peak and volcano, is the highest in Japan and the 7th highest island peak on earth. Yamanashi Prefecture, home to Mount Fuji, offers a serene escape from Tokyo's hustle and bustle. Visitors can explore the picturesque Fuji Five Lakes, Kiyosato highland resort, historical temples like Erinji and Kuonji, rejuvenating hot springs, and renowned wineries.
Definitely recommend hiking fuji. The sunrise is amazing and though a challenge it’s worth the rewards. And you get to stand on top of Japan at 3776m Quite crowded during August and not too easy to book the mountain huts but you can always join a tour
Kevin K — Google review
A Journey Above the Clouds Climbing Mount Fuji (3,776m) is more than a hike — it’s a test of will and wonder. From the 5th Station, the trail starts easy with cool air and ramen stops, but soon turns into a battle of endurance as the air thins and the slopes steepen. The night climb was magical — stars overhead, headlamps snaking up the mountain. Reaching the summit at 4:30 a.m. to witness Goraikō, Japan’s sacred sunrise, was pure awe. The descent? Slippery and tough, but the sense of achievement made every step worth it. 🌅Unforgettable. Humbling. Beautiful. My trip is started end of August , start at night for sunrise, layer up, and pace yourself.

Breathtaking and unforgettable experience! Seeing Mt. Fuji in person is truly magical. The view is stunning from every angle, especially on a clear day or during sunrise and sunset. Whether you visit the 5th Station, Lake Kawaguchi, or view it from afar, the scenery is peaceful and awe-inspiring. It’s a must-see landmark that captures the beauty of Japan’s nature and spirit. A perfect spot for photos, hiking, and unforgettable memories!
J _ — Google review
A reminder that Mt. Fuji represents strength, resilience, and enduring character, similar to the steadfastness of the mountain itself. A spiritual symbol of spiritual growth and enlightenment, a national symbol of Japan's strength, and a source of artistic inspiration.
Hua M — Google review
Don't underestimate this place, some may so it's a walk in the park but it's not. If you're not fit, you will suffer, especially if you plan on ascending and descending on the same day which is what I had done. I do a lot of walk and hike but this was the first proper mountain I had ever climbed. It wasn't so much of my fitness that was an issue, but rather, the altitude sickness. And yes, altitude sickness is real! About ⅔ into the climb, I started feeling the affects of it. For every few steps I went up in elavation, I kept stopping because I felt like hurling. Eventually, I threw up three times, at three different stages of the latter part of the climb. My companion on the other hand, who had never done this let alone walking or hiking, didn't suffer a bit. So it does differ in affects, from person to person. But having said that, do stay overnight and acclimatise for God's sake, as it will make the climb more pleasurable.
Tajul I — Google review
The gorgeous Mount Fuji! Blessed to witness this volcano peak on a clear day. One can never be tired watching this view the whole day.
Pranjit D — Google review
It was an amazing experience! View at the top will take your breath away and is totally worth the eight hour hike. We took the Subashiri Trail and stayed at Tomoekan. Enjoyed the nature, plenty of blue sky and the feeling of walking on cloud, literally. Highly recommend of you are considering this. To optimize your experience , highly recommend you work out and prep yourself physically well enough before the climb.
Pat C — Google review
Visiting Mt. Fuji is a breathtaking and unforgettable experience. Seeing this majestic peak in person feels truly magical — its beauty shines from every angle, especially at sunrise or sunset. Whether you’re admiring it from the 5th Station, the shores of Lake Kawaguchi, or from afar, the scenery is serene and awe-inspiring. A true symbol of Japan’s natural beauty and spirit — perfect for photos, hikes, and lifelong memories.

Fuji Subaru Line 5th Station

Mentioned on

Observation deck
If you're looking to soak in the breathtaking beauty of Japan's iconic Mt. Fuji but can't make it to the summit, a visit to Fuji Subaru Line 5th Station is an excellent alternative. This accessible spot offers stunning panoramic views and a chance to experience the mountain's unique atmosphere without the strenuous climb. At an elevation of 2,203 meters, you can enjoy cooler temperatures even during summer months—so don’t forget a light jacket!
We visited the fifth station as part of an organized tour. The tour included many uninteresting places - some nondescript lakes and tourist villages. But this place is truly impressive. Fuji is omnipresent - you see it from everywhere. Some Japanese worship Fuji as a deity, and now I understand where this veneration comes from. We visited Japan in the hot season, but at the fifth station it was cool - "ringing" and clean air. We were above the clouds. The observation deck offers an incredible view. I recommend everyone to repeat our trip to understand the soul of Japan.
Game G — Google review
Going to this place by bus actually amazing. You can see the top of the Mt. Fuji right along the way to this station. but not everyday Mt. Fuji is visible it depends on the weather and the season. It can covered by cotton candy that you can’t see anything. Note: few restaurants available in the area. Restroom also available but you need to pay 100 yen. I saw some horses too but I’m not sure if they are for rent. There also a shrine at the back that you can visit. Souvenirs? Lot of souvenirs available from magnet to keychain, tee and food. Lower your expectations
Gennalyn C — Google review
Came here as part of a tour and we were extremely lucky to get good weather and see Mount Fuji. There are many shops here selling beautiful postcards and posters, and some charge you 100 yen to use their bathroom. It is 28th October today and some leaves are already changing colour ❤️
André M — Google review
Nice observatory point. We could not go further up from here owing to poor weather. Saw the Fuji up close and on the opposite side as well the views are amazing. Lovely spot. There was a souvenir shop nearby, purchased some fridge magnets and snacks, also toilet is also nearby, all clean and fine.
Sujay S — Google review
The start of many a journey to the top of Mt Fuji. There are plenty of things to buy food wise and souvenirs. There are a few restaurants. You can also hire hiking gear here. There is also a limited number of lockers. But beware the shops do not stay open to late. There is accommodation that you can stay in. I would probably say book in advance. The bus also runs up here from the town below as well as other buses that come direct from Shinjuku.
Wayne J — Google review
We, a group of 15 Malaysian hikers, rolled into Fuji Subaru Line 5th Station (2,305m) by bus from Kawaguchiko Station on 3 August 2025 at 9:15 am. The ride took about an hour, smooth and scenic, with the mountains slowly revealing themselves as we got closer. I tucked my return ticket safely in my bag, already knowing it would feel very different holding it again after the climb. This spot is the highest point on Mt. Fuji you can reach by car or bus, and stepping off the bus, I couldn’t help but feel thankful for that convenience. At the same time, I thought about the old pilgrims who used to start at the very base, walking for days before even reaching this altitude. Their journey was not just physical—it was spiritual. That thought instantly gave the place a sense of weight and meaning. A Place with History and Spirit In the past, climbers followed the “stations” (gōme) marked along the pilgrimage route. The 5th Station only became a major hub after the Subaru Line road opened in 1964, bringing thousands of modern hikers here every summer. Yet, even with the convenience of buses and shops, the Komitake Shrine nearby still whispers of older times, when people came here to purify themselves and pray before heading into the clouds. First Impressions – A Village in the Clouds The atmosphere at Station 5 was unlike anywhere else—a small mountain village buzzing with energy. Shops sold everything from hiking gear to keychains, steaming bowls of curry rice, and hot noodles. Tourists were snapping photos against the sea of clouds, while serious hikers were sorting out their packs and lacing up their boots. Yes, it was crowded, even a bit too commercial at times, but the excitement in the air was contagious. Like many others, I joined the tradition of picking up a wooden hiking stick, attaching a small flag, and stamping it for the first time. Holding it in my hands felt more than symbolic—it was as if I was carrying a piece of history with me, one that would collect the story of this climb, step by step. Gearing Up for the Ascent We spent about an hour at the station, partly to adjust to the thinner air and partly to take it all in. Our Ohana guides gathered us for a safety briefing, walking us through the Yoshida Trail and sharing tips for pacing, resting, and staying safe. I downloaded the official Fuji hiking app, which turned out to be surprisingly handy for tracking progress and checking our altitude. Each of us also received a small wooden souvenir with a stamp and a green wristband—practical tokens that doubled as reminders of the journey we were about to begin. The wristband was especially important, as we had to show it at the main gate before stepping onto the trail. Reflections at the Gateway Standing at 5th Station felt like standing at a crossroads. Behind us was the comfort of shops, food, and the crowd’s noise. Ahead lay the silence of the mountain, the challenge of thin air, and the uncertainty of the path. The moment was both ordinary and profound—just another stop for some, but for us, it was the gateway to something greater. After final checks, quick encouragements, and a few nervous smiles, we showed our wristbands and walked past the gate. The climb had officially begun. Fuji Subaru Line 5th Station is more than a rest stop—it’s where adventure, history, and spirituality meet. A little touristy, yes, but also unforgettable. The perfect threshold before stepping onto Japan’s most iconic mountain.

It was very windy, cold and foggy. At that time the fog was very thick. But luckily the wind pushes the fogs away so we can managed to see the peak of Mt Fuji. Very clean and fresh air helps refresh the body and mind. Beautiful mountain scenery along the road uphill is trully relaxing. At the 5th Station, we can find some souvenir shops, cafe and restaurant with traditional japanese food. Just take a seat, relax and enjoy the views.
Roy A — Google review
Great views of Mt. Fuji and easy access to washrooms and food. A bit of a drive to get up here but well worth it for the pictures. No one in our group had any trouble with the altitude or altitude sickness. It is a bit of a walk from the stores to the bus parking so make sure you leave extra time to get back to your bus.

Shin-Fuji Station

Mentioned on
3 lists
Train station
Shin-Fuji Station is a great spot to catch a breathtaking view of Mt. Fuji towering over the city. If you're traveling by Shinkansen, this might be your only chance to see the iconic mountain up close. The station offers an impressive sight of Mt. Fuji from its platform, making it a perfect opportunity for some stunning photographs. Additionally, Shin-Fuji Station provides easy access to Fujinomiya city, just over an hour away from Tokyo station via bullet train.
A perfect place where to stop and exchange public transportation n the way to Fuji Mountain. There is a direct bus around the whole volcano so you can go to any stop or see a lot from the bus. Take a seat on the right side in the direction of the way from the station and you will have a beautiful view of the volcano throughout the whole journey. Thank you 🤩
Ales T — Google review
Quiet and easy access. Train will arrive before departure time 10 mins.

Small station, big views 🚄🗻 Shin-Fuji Station is clean, easy to navigate, and super convenient for catching the Shinkansen. But the real magic? On a clear day, you’ll get a postcard-perfect view of Mt. Fuji right outside the station. Great photo spot, smooth connections, and a peaceful vibe compared to bigger stations. 🗺️ Gateway to adventure. 📸 Mt. Fuji = 10/10 if the skies are kind. 🚄 Fast trains, slow moments.
Steven D — Google review
If you want to experience the speed of Nozomi and Hikari, spend sometime on the platform before boarding your Kodama. Also get a good view of Fujisan if you are lucky !!!

I had the best experience here at the information center. We were planning our Mt Fuji trip from Shin Fuji station last minute. Thanks for the information staffs patiently and nicely help us to get the most out of our limited time. Thanks to them, we got a two day bus pass which is awesome to visit Mt Fuji. We also get to see the Fujinomia and heritage center in a fast speed. It made our day!

Mt. Fuji Children's World

Park
Nature & Parks
Located in Kuwasaki, Fuji City, Mt. Fuji Children's World is a fun-filled kids' attraction offering a diverse range of indoor and outdoor activities. From nature observation and horseback riding to water play and animal petting, the park provides various engaging programs for children. Additionally, visitors can enjoy amenities such as restaurants, rest houses, barbecue areas, shops, hotels, campgrounds, and unique lodging options like yurts within the park premises.
This place is an aging gem. The prices can be beaten and the grounds are naturally beautiful set with Fuji-San as a fantastic backdrop. There are sign of wear and some best-effort managed vegetation growth, but it’s not worth thinking about. The splash pad and water slide were my 4 year olds favorite. Also, the canoe/kayak route is free! It’s a great place to take a leisurely hike around. 5-stars for stress free fun!
Luke M — Google review
Went in early Dec 2024. The place offers very nice scenery of Mount Fuji. The attraction for children is very limited during the cold season. The snow ride is closed when we are they, which is very disappointing. The animal farm is not big. There's horses , rabbits ,sheep, goats, and Alpaca. There's an entrance fee to pay. Every attraction need to pay for a fee like the tricycle. The place is huge and walking from one attraction to another take around 10min. If choose to take bus or train to get to those attraction, you need to pay for the ride as well. Overall, average for children experience and adult for the scenery.

If the weather is clear you must go here, if you have young kids or are a kid at heart you must go here, if you play disc golf you must go here, but it is a short hole course, tricky shots but short. The views....!!!!!

The disc golf course was a great hike and fun time. Overall a surreal experience, felt kinda like being in the abandoned amusement park in Spirited Away!
Matt H — Google review
We visited Fuji Children’s World on Saturday, November 1, 2025. We took a taxi from Gotemba Station, which cost around 5,600 yen, as there was no public transportation available to and from the park. When it was time to return, the staff were exceptionally helpful, they assisted us in booking a taxi, stayed with us until it arrived, and even escorted us to the pick-up location where the driver was waiting.
Clement C — Google review
It is a nice place to take younger children to enjoy nature and play outdoors. It is best to bring picnic type lunch with you. You can enjoy an entire day outside walking o trails, children riding ponies, trips on the water in boats. There is frisbee golf and grand golf. There is not a lot for you to purchase inside the park so best come prepared with drinks and snacks as needed. If you don’t have children but an a nice place to walk around and enjoy the beautiful scenery this is o e of those places.
Bill G — Google review
My family loves visiting Mt. Fuji Children's world! In August you can visit their beetle exhibit and hold stag or Hercules beetles. My children love the waterside and "ninja" water run. The highlight for us is always the fishing pond, where we catch and grill our lunch, as they will gut the fish you catch. It's a great place to enjoy with kids, lots of beautiful nature to see. Be sure to plan to spend the entire day here, as there is so much to do and you won't want to leave!

Road Station Fujikawa Rakuza

Rest stop
Visitor Centers
Road Station Fujikawa Rakuza is a popular toll-road rest stop that offers stunning views of Mount Fuji and a variety of amenities. It is well-equipped with clean toilets, various dining options, and souvenir shops. The area also features a children's play area with rides and a spacious parking lot. Visitors can enjoy the scenic view of Mount Fuji surrounded by lush greenery while indulging in delicious food or taking a ride on the Ferris wheel for an amazing perspective of the iconic mountain.
It was clean and modern. I love all the options to shop and eat here! Definitely a stop worth seeing. The ticket to ride is 700 yen! A good spot to bring family, friends or a couple to come sightseeing. I didn't get to see the planetarium but there's one here too!
Lorena P — Google review
A Sassy Pit Stop on the Way to Kawaguchi! Road Station Fujikawa Rakuza was the perfect place to break up the long drive and give our engines (and legs) a rest! This cheeky rest area had everything we needed to refuel, recharge, and maybe even indulge in a little retail therapy. We snagged some scrumptious snacks, sipped on some sake, and even snapped a few sultry selfies with Mt. Fuji (who knew it could be so photogenic?). We also: - Got our shop on and scored some sweet souvenirs - Learned some saucy secrets about the region's history - Took a sneaky stroll around the surrounding area (don't tell anyone!) - Relaxed in the comfy rest areas (okay, maybe we took a quick snooze) - Enjoyed some naughty nibbles at the food court (hello, fried delights!) If you're heading to Kawaguchi, do yourself a favor and stop by Road Station Fujikawa Rakuza - your taste buds (and your sense of adventure) will thank you!"

Hiromi Park

Park
Nature & Parks
Hiromi Park is a 14-hectare expanse featuring paths, gardens, and stunning views of Mt. Fuji. It houses a history museum, playground, and numerous relocated cultural buildings such as pit-style dwellings and round burial mounds. The well-maintained park offers an opportunity to explore historical structures and learn about the local area's history. Visitors can also enjoy a sculpture garden, beautiful rose garden that blooms in early to mid-May, and various trees planted throughout the site.
Very beautiful park with a nice view of Mount Fuji. The park is quite large with lots of statues and buildings to look at. There is a toilet and drinks vending machine available.

An interesting place for strolling and for getting a glimpse of traditional Japanese architecture. There are also a few western style buildings of historical significance. The sakura flowers for 2022 are about half fallen as of April 10.
ジエームス — Google review
Wide park with a lot of traditional building. Great place for a walk and a picnic, but not a lot for kids to play.
Benjamin C — Google review
This park has many historical buildings. If you visit this park, you will be able to learn a lot about the history of the local area. There is a collection of historical buildings that you can explore, a sculpture garden, and a large beautiful rose garden that blooms in Early-Mid May. On a clear day you can see a good view of Mt. Fuji framed by the beautiful scenery of the park. There is also a free museum that showcases the history of Fuji, and most recently was renovated to add a section dedicated to Kaguyahime. Better know in English as the "Bamboo Cutter and the Moon Princess", Kaguyahime is a Japanese folk tale where an old man finds a tiny girl inside a glowing bamboo shoot. This story is believed to have taken place in Fuji. The Kaguyahime exhibit is wonderful! There is a section that retells the story, another on the spiritual significance of Mt. Fuji, and an exhibit of paper dolls that depict the events of the story.

Iwamoto Mountain Park

Nature & Parks
Iwamoto Mountain Park is a serene green space known for its vibrant springtime cherry and plum blossoms, offering picturesque views of Mt. Fuji in the distance. While it may be challenging to reach via public transportation, visitors can enjoy the beautiful scenery and take stunning photos, especially during cherry blossom season. The park also features illuminations at night, making it an ideal spot for panoramic photography. Additionally, visitors can savor coffee and matcha while relaxing in the park's tranquil atmosphere.
Great view. It's beautiful especially in spring. It has a big picnic area. Dog friendly. You can go hiking around the mountain and enjoy the beautiful view.

My wife and I went here on a whim after hearing about a cherry blossoms festival, and it exceeded our expectations. The park was beautiful to look at with the trees in full bloom. At night they turned on lights to illuminate the petals, elevating the beauty of the park. Make sure to arrive early if you decide to attend, as there is eventually a very long wait to enter the parking lot

Cherry blossom season is a good time to go. There are many cherry blossom trees here. It has a nice view point of Fuji city. You can see Fuji on a clear day.

Plenty of flowers, and a great view of the city and Fujisan if you come on a clear day! However, a little bit inaccessible without a car. Bus services don't operate regularly, and the restaurant in the park has shut down. There are only a couple of vending machines which sell ice cream and drinks. I would recommend coming during the sakura season!

It's the first place that I've satisfied for this trip. It was rainy for 4 days in cherry blossom season so it was the first sunny day in this trip. The vibe of this park was so peaceful and cherry blossom was flourishing

The place is great for sakura viewing and panorama photos, specially at night, there's some really pretty illumination for pictures, plus, the coffee and matcha is great a little on the expensive side, but, great for chilly days. And oh.. there's some really friendly chubby cats there lol.

Jisso-ji

Buddhist temple
Sights & Landmarks
Sacred & Religious Sites
Nichirenshu Motoyama Jisso Temple, established in the late Heian period, holds great historical significance. Notable structures within the temple grounds include a grand mountain gate housing the Nioh statue, two bell towers, a shakado, a main hall featuring an idol of Nichiren, and an ancestral hall. It is also renowned for being where Nichiren Saint penned the influential work "Rissho Ankokuron" during the Kamakura period.
What an awesome climb and adventure. This shrine is stunning.
Ben R — Google review
(Translated by Google) A large, historic temple with a sutra storehouse containing all the Buddhist scriptures. It seems that during the Kamakura period there were only two Buddhist sutra storehouses in Japan, and it was a very famous large temple as it was the only one in eastern Japan. This is also the place where Nichiren Shonin spent many months reading all the sutras in order to compose Rissho Ankoku Ron during the Kamakura period, and it is also where he met Nikko Shonin, who later became the Six Elders. be. I had read about this place in a book about Taisekiji Temple, but when I actually came there, I was very moved by the thought that all the scriptures had been read in such a dim place in the mountains. . The sage soon became convinced that of all the sutras, the Lotus Sutra was the only true sutra of Shakyamuni Buddha, and learned that the sutras were a convenient way to preach the Lotus Sutra, and based on this he completed the Rissho Ankoku theory. He preached the theory of Rissho and Ankoku by promoting the Lotus Sutra and unifying the disorder in the Buddhist world with the Lotus Sutra in order to overcome all national troubles, and submitted the theory of Rissho and Ankoku as a direct appeal to the Kamakura Shogunate, but instead caused misunderstandings and took advantage of it. The saint's life of hardship begins. “Heaven also spare those who pry, and in spite of all the troubles, I will spare my life.” However, the saint's strong feelings grew stronger each time he encountered difficulties, and eventually he gained many followers even as he moved from battle to Sado and Minobu. When I visited the temple with these thoughts in mind, I naturally felt a sense of sadness. I was also given a very honorable title, the first one since my death, and I was filled with gratitude. (Translated by Google) This is the temple where Nichiren Shonin wrote Rissho Ankoku Ron. Although none of the collection of sutras that Nichiren Shonin kept and the sutras that he read still exist, it has been designated as the main temple as a sacred temple. The entire mountain was destroyed by fire during the invasion of the Takeda clan, and the current hall was rebuilt afterwards. The carving of the bow facing the main sutra was made by Ozawa (Ishida) Hanbei, who also sculpted the bow facing the worship hall of Mishima Taisha Shrine. Although it lacks the feel of a masterpiece, it is worth seeing because of its detailed and rich expressions. The nearest station is Katahori Station on the Minobu Line. Buses do not run at a practical frequency, so you should plan on walking for about 20 minutes each way. Along the Minobu Line, you can enjoy Hanbei's works at Kiyomasa Kodo Hall in Minobu and Naifuneji Temple in Naifune. Jissoji Temple is also the entrance to the Mt. Iwamoto hiking course, and there seem to be more people there than to visit the shrine. The shoin, archives, and main hall appear to be in active use as a temple, but the Soshi-do Hall, which you can see through the window, is empty. It's a shame because it's a quaint building, unlike the main hall, which is made of reinforced concrete. I am giving it a rating of 3 stars because it lacks vibrancy as a place for rituals and Hanbei Ozawa is probably a nobody to most people, but it is recommended for those who like shrine carvings. . Maruten Fuji

Mentioned on
1 list
$$$$affordable
Seafood restaurant
Maruten Fuji is a seafood restaurant known for its fresh and delicious offerings. The Kaisen-don, a seafood bowl with salmon roe, sea urchin, tuna, and raw Sakura shrimp on rice, is particularly recommended. Visitors find the food to be of high quality and reasonably priced. While some feel that the local beer is overpriced, others appreciate the large portions offered at affordable prices. The sushi is praised for being fresh and tasty.
This restaurant wasn’t originally part of our trip plan—we just found it through Google Maps and decided to give it a try. It’s a traditional Japanese-style eatery where many office workers come to dine. We have to say, it did not disappoint at all! The sashimi was fresh and delicious, and we highly recommend the octopus tentacles—they were amazing. And there are many other interesting menu items as well. The restaurant is easy to find, located right by the main road, with plenty of parking available. Definitely worth a visit! Keep in mind that the menu is entirely in Japanese.
ณปภัช เ — Google review
I am easy with Sashimi, but my friend with me said that the Sashimi is not as fresh as compared to others. Mention, in their opinion, will be only 2 stars out of 5. As for me, I am easy. Will I be back? Properly not.
Kian L — Google review
It's seafood restaurant. This area is very famous as the raw young of the sardine. So I wanted to try it. The I chose the Kaisen-don (Saefood bowl) with Salmon roe, Sea Urchine, Tuna and raw Sakura shrimp are on the rice. It tasted awesome. It was so fresh. The price is acceptable for this quality. I came from Vietnam, so the price for the beer was so expensive I felt. Actually the beer was kinda local beer of Shizuoka, but it's quite normal, nothing special. Only name... So I don't recommend. Anyway if you wanna have "Seafood", then this is the place for sure.

Tagonoura Fisheries Cooperative cafeteria

Restaurant
Tagonoura Fisheries Cooperative cafeteria is a local eatery in Fuji City that offers classic fish dishes, with a specialty in serving fresh bowls of Shirasu, the local delicacy. The cafeteria has a utilitarian vibe and provides an authentic dining experience. Customers can order their food at a vending machine and enjoy it with a nice harbor view. The place is popular among locals for its amazing raw and cooked baby sardines, which are sourced directly from the ocean.
I went to the place because Google rating is good. The menu I want to eat is sold out. T T. Still, it was good.

Absolutely fresh and amazing raw shirasu bowl for 1,000¥. You can enjoy the food with a nice harbor view. However they only opens till 13:30pm so better get started early. Access is quite hard if you don't have a car, but apparently there is bus from shinfuji-station. Overall it was a nice place to relax
Tee H — Google review
From the entrance, there is a private seat for pets at the back of two tables. I thought this animal-friendly perspective and consideration were warm and wonderful. The food was also fresh and delicious. I think it's the best combination to buy some recommended sashimi at the fish shop at the entrance and eat it with the rice bowl in the restaurant.
DUBSKE M — Google review
Authentic, local Fuji City eatery where you get fresh bowls of the local speciality, Shirasu! They’re little fish when boiled, turn white but I got them raw with a raw egg which is highly recommended here. Order at the vending machine, choose the amount of ride you’d like, first - red choices at the top, then the dish. You can add on an egg if you like, Fuji City is famous for those too. It closes at 2pm with last order at 1:30pm so it’s best to get there early. They do run out of some items. There’s also a fantastic view of Mt Fuji looking over the bay, the Fuji city factories in the foreground.

Sawayaka Fuji Takaoka shop

$$$$affordable
Family restaurant
Western restaurant
Sawayaka Fuji Takaoka shop is a must-visit spot in Shizuoka, known for its meaty offerings and classic family restaurant style. The Genkotsu hamburger, a hefty 250g patty, is a popular choice among locals and tourists alike. The hamburg steak + ribeye combo and the white bait porridge dish are highly recommended for their delicious flavors. This restaurant attracts crowds even on weekdays due to its reputation for serving the best beef patties.
This place just never fails. Differs from the shops around Gotenba as the waiting time is significantly lower (80-90 minutes in a weekend’s peak hour). I came in during my slot and the service was perfect and quick. The food deserves no comment, as usual.

Sawayaka Fujinishiki Store

$$$$affordable
Family restaurant
Western restaurant
Sawayaka is a popular steakhouse known for its delicious Humberg, a Japanese-style hamburger steak served on a hot iron plate. The friendly staff are accommodating and make an effort to assist non-Japanese speakers, even offering to provide an English menu from their corporate website. The restaurant's high cost performance makes it worth the visit, although there may be a wait due to its popularity. Despite the language barrier, the staff are kind and attentive to foreign visitors.
Pro tip: make sure to come 1-2hours early to get the ticket first then come back later after your trip if you're planning to have dinner here. Otherwise they will refuse to serve because the wait time will exceed last order time. Food was amazing as expected. Juicy, cooked right in front of you to your preferred doneness. You can ask for a mini grill to further cook your meat. Overall a must visit when in Shizuoka

Nice family restaurant. Reasonably priced burger. Excellent service from staffs although they speak little English. Their's a queue but moves pretty fast.
Phakorn S — Google review
No wait around 5:30, it does start to get busy closer to 6, so go early. Service was great, staff are friendly. Ordered the hamburg and steak combo, cooked medium for both. Would recommend the hamburg to be cooked well done as it was more on the medium rare side, which was perfect for the steak however. The seasonal shine muscat parfait was delicious. Onion gratin soup was good for the price.

McDonald's

Permanently Closed
$$$$cheap
Fast food restaurant
McDonald's is a well-known fast-food chain that has been serving its classic burgers and fries for many years. During a visit to one of their locations in Fuji City, I enjoyed a satisfying meal of a Big Mac with French fries and Sprite. However, there were some points to note about the experience: the absence of tomato sauce for the fries and an excessive amount of ice in the drink. Despite these small issues, the restaurant was clean, and the staff was friendly and accommodating.
went to this mcdonald’s recently and i must say it was the best mcdonald’s i’ve ever been to ! i’m not much of a cheeseburger fan but i ordered their double cheeseburger and it was so juicy ! the burger itself looked fake ! the customer service was the best service i’ve experienced whilst in japan.
Chloe B — Google review
I visited this McDonald shop during my Fuji City visit. Big Mac with French Fry and Sprite was best combination. However, I found want to mention some point that I missed in this shop: 1. Tomato Sauce was not served with French Fries. 2. Amount of ice was so much which was no use after you finish you drink.
Aditya C — Google review
Tried one of the seasonal menu burgers , essentially a sausage patty smothered in a sweet soy sauce, with salad. Burger was not to my personal preference, but does not mean there was anything wrong with it. Melon Fanta was amazing. Chips at standard Macca's level. Quiet during mid afternoon. Clean, albeit needed roof maintenance as evidently there were some roof leaks

(Translated by Google) Miso Champon with gyoza and rice. Perhaps because I go to Ringer Hut too much, I haven't been feeling the impact of the flavor lately, so I can't give it more stars. The filling of the gyoza is black, so it's unclear what's inside, but these were so delicious that 3 pieces wasn't enough. Next time, I thought there might be a set meal with just gyoza. Also, Ringer Hut's unique yuzu pepper is spicy and stimulates your appetite. This costs about 1000 yen. As for vegetables, I was satisfied with regular Champon. Also, I want the soup to have an impact.

(Translated by Google) If you're looking for ``Champon,'' this is the only place to go. Even people in Nagasaki prefecture rank Ringer Hut highly in the word ``champon''. I've been going there once a month lately. The clerks are all elderly people. Is it the store's policy? However, the response is nice. Champon is always "Champon full of vegetables" Double the noodles. The volume is incredible. And lots of vegetables. It's so delicious that I can drink the soup. (Actually, I always drink it all.) And the dressing pepper is the best. Especially the yuzu pepper. When the two of us go there, we end up using up all the dressing. (Is it abnormal?) That's how great the matching is. I have tasted about 500 ramen dishes all over the country. No, more. My recommended shop "Ringer Hut" Please come and join us~👍 (Original)

(Translated by Google) It's been a long time since I last went. I went before 12 o'clock on a weekday, but there was plenty of parking space, so I was able to get in right away. I wonder when was the last time they had weekday lunch, but it seems they've started serving hamburgers like Sawayaka. The Sawayaka-like hamburger, salad bar, soup, and rice (bread) were all very reasonable at 1,500 yen. The hamburger was also quite tasty, so I liked it. The salad bar didn't have a huge variety... but it did have a standard salad, two kinds of pasta, two slightly more elaborate hot meals, and curry. It was more than enough as a bonus. I'd definitely like to go again. Thank you for the meal! The set includes a hot rice and a drink bar, creating a great atmosphere for families and those looking for a hearty meal. For first-time visitors, the "Charcoal-Grilled Premium Ribeye Steak + Bronco Set" comes with a salad bar, a pleasant surprise! For details, see the restaurant's appearance at limited-time events such as the "Komi Komi Festival." ② [Location and Access] 425-1 Honichiba, Fuji City, Shizuoka Prefecture. Easily accessible, approximately a 14-20 minute walk (1.1-1.0 km) from Fuji Station. By car, drive 180 meters west from the "General Government Office" intersection on Prefectural Route 396. The spacious parking lot with 52 spaces is ideal for families. Please note that the restaurant tends to get crowded on weekends and in the evenings (especially Saturday and Sunday nights), so it's best to arrive early. ③ [Facilities and Services] The restaurant has over 100 seats (106 seats), making it spacious. It's non-smoking, accepts credit cards and QR codes, and even has baby chairs. The interior has a casual American steakhouse feel, making it perfect for families and friends. Their signature dishes are charcoal-grilled steaks and 100% beef hamburgers. The salad bar offers a wide selection, and the dessert section is a great way to enjoy a full meal. Weekday lunches are relatively quiet, making them a great time to visit. On the other hand, weekends can get quite busy, so it's recommended to arrive early. ④ [Highlights and Attractions] • A unique experience: Enjoy a luxurious set of tender charcoal-grilled meat, rice cooked in a large pot, and a salad, drink, and dessert bar. A satisfying experience for both your heart and stomach! • Popularity Points: Numerous rave reviews, including "The salad bar is amazing" and "The meat is so tender, there's nothing to complain about!" • Recommended Time: Weekdays between 11:00 AM and 12:00 PM (right after lunch starts) are relatively quiet. On weekends, when it tends to get crowded, it's best to aim for right after opening. • Tip: It's customary to enjoy a salad or dessert from the salad bar before your big main course (lol). They even pour the sauces piping hot right at your table, making it a heart-stopping experience. • Perfect Souvenir: The salad bar offers seasonal fruits and coffee jelly, so taking some home after lunch would be a welcome treat! Patapata is a popular pizza place in Fuji-shi, offering a wide variety of pizzas to choose from. Customers can enjoy all-you-can-eat pizza, salad bar, soft serve ice cream, and drinks during lunch hours. The ordering method involves writing down the pizza numbers on a piece of paper and handing it over. Despite some waiting time due to popularity, customers are generally satisfied with the delicious taste and affordable prices.

Not bad not good. Pizza is extra thin and pretty floppy. Taste is ok. Cheese is good along with variety of toppings even though they're mini-size. The wait was the worst part. Place was pretty busy but for a smallish pizza that's super thin, one shouldn't have to wait like 20 minutes. Basically if you're expecting pizza quality from the lines of Dominos or Pizza Hut, you'll be disappointed. It's better than frozen pizza, but in terms of value it's hard to recommend.

(Translated by Google) Arrived before 12:00 on Saturday. It was a 45 minute wait. After that, there was a 60 minute wait. The variety of pizzas is wide and satisfying. There was a difference between the menu I ordered and the menu I received, so when I looked at the menu and checked, the staff immediately took care of it, so when I told them that the menu was different, they took care of it. The negative factor was that I felt that the inside of the store was small. There is also one toilet for women and one for both men and women. Men came out from women's. It will be temporarily closed at the end of December, so I'd be happy if it expanded. (Translated by Google) I visited during lunch time. I think it cost around 1,700 yen for main (pasta or risotto) + all-you-can-eat pizza + drink bar + salad bar + all-you-can-eat soft serve ice cream. The ordering method was to write the pizza number on a piece of paper and hand it over. You can choose from 1 to 4 flavors per piece, so you can eat a variety of flavors little by little. There was a wide variety of pizzas to choose from. The dough is chewy and fluffy, but not too heavy so you can eat it in one go! I think it's a great value for money to have all-you-can-eat pizza of this level. The main course was fresh pasta, the noodles were chewy and the sauce was delicious, and that alone was enough to satisfy me. However, there are side dishes at the salad bar, but other posts said there were about 5 types, but it was only potatoes and doria, and both were cold because they were not kept warm. It would be nice if I could eat it freshly made at the right time... The seats are like semi-private rooms, so it's quite crowded, so it's easy to go even with children! It may depend on your seat, but the aisles are narrow so it may be difficult to enter with a stroller.

U.S. Air Base Yokota Japan

United States Armed Forces Base
Air force base
Military base
Yokota Air Base in Japan hosts the annual Friendship Festival, a highly anticipated event that showcases a wide array of aircraft including U.S. military and Self-Defense Force planes. Visitors are often amazed by the vastness of the sky and the rare opportunity to see these planes up close. Despite long lines, the experience is deemed worthwhile as attendees witness flight demonstrations and gain insight into national defense efforts.
This is a U.S. Air Force base. It is one of the most popular bases among U.S. soldiers. Except for special events, the number of people who can enter is limited. Nationals of China, Afghanistan, and other countries with poor or complicated relations with the U.S. are not allowed here, even during special events. If you have a permitted nationality, you may enter on regular days with an escort from a U.S. soldier. There are restrictions on what can be purchased on the base due to customs and tariffs between Japan and the U.S. This is in addition to the restrictions on what can be allowed in Japan. At least in the food court of the BX, you can purchase goods without any problem. If you are visiting here, have fun.
