The Confucius Temple in Changhua was almost a national first-class monument that was demolished to cover shopping malls. It was built in 1726, 4 years of the Qing Dynasty Yongzheng. The architecture of Zhangzhou style is slightly different from that of Tainan Confucian Temple. During the Japanese occupation period, it was the seat of the Changhua Public School of the "National Language Center". In 1906, part of the wall door was demolished in the "urban correction plan". In 1971, the Taiwan Provincial Government and Changhua County Government once planned to demolish the Confucian Temple and sell land to cover shopping malls. Later it was demolished for renovation due to local opposition. In 1983, it was designated as a national monument.

This place has a very spectacular view facing the low lying areas of the whole Changhua city.

Nanyao Temple is a Mazu temple in Changhua city. It was built in the 18th century during the Qing Dynasty and it's a place where generations of locals have come to seek good fortune and receive the blessings of Mazu. It is one of the temples where the Dajia Mazu make the annual pilgrimage during March of the lunar calendar.

Nanyao Palace is a historic site in Changhua County, dating back to 1738 at the earliest. In terms of architecture, it can be said to be one of the most solemn and gorgeous temples in Changhua City. The architectural pattern is four towers and four halls, using three architectural styles. The Sanchuan Hall and the Main Hall at the front are traditional Chinese-style buildings. The Bagua algae well on the ceiling of the Sanchuan Hall at the main entrance is very stylish. It is stacked up by a bucket arch without using any nails. Dragon. The Guanyin Hall behind the main hall is one of the most distinctive temples in Taiwan. It is also the oldest building in Nanyao Palace, which combines the styles of Fujian, Western and Japanese. The last apse is a three-story building, made of concrete. It was completed in 1973 in a modern antique style. You can go to the third floor of the apse to enjoy the beauty of the entire temple. The height of the four halls has gradually increased from the beginning to the end, and the pattern is rigorous and beautiful. The whole can be said to be Taiwan's architectural gem.

A super scenic stroll from the Cultural & creative park + Changhua Arts Center to Baguashan, there are many plants 🌱 critters and viewing spots you can find along the way. The route also cuts through the baseball ⚾️ field where you can observe others practicing. A great breather and fresh air away from the town hustle.

Nice pleasant walk beside trees, away from traffic. Though, must be a bit too hot during summer.

It's an elevated walkway that links various of Bagua Mountain. It is a novel idea that helps reduce congestion on existing roads and pathways, but I do not recommend it. There is no shelter and the flooring is slippery. Not suitable for young children on prams or the elderly.

The so-called "Sky path" is a long extended passage around the hills. It gives a nice view of Changhua city on the way.

Pretty good view of the ChangHwa city. It's free too. Went during Dec so wasn't too hot or too cold. Plenty of places to walk and look at things for free. Simply experience the temple culture of Taiwan. The toilet are those temporary ones. Brig your own tissues. Otherwise, you can buy some packets for cheap. Got 2 for $10 NTD. But can't guarantee that's always there.

The skypath is 1KM long and is the longest in Taiwan. However you could not see much scenery from the skypath, mostly trees and plants as it was not that high.

The tourist town of Mount Baqua has changed a lot, there are lots of people selling around the area, paid parking is also available, toilets are also available but they are a bit dirty (sorry), near Mount Baqua there are also attractions such as watching hellish torture in the monastery which is quite exciting, the road to the monastery is steep and lots of stairs...😅, but when you get to the 3rd floor inside the monastery it is very dark... if I may suggest, on the footpath in the attraction, give directions or a small footpath light because suddenly it goes straight there is a wooden ladder and I almost fell between the boundary of the ladder and the footpath.. there was also a bucket beside it (which I think might be for collecting raindrops that seep in) which should be removed if it is no longer used.. but I understand because the ticket keeper is also an elderly person.. the ticket price is still affordable..🙏🏻

Public place where you can visit and be with nature. Can see one of the biggest Buddha in Taiwan and located in Changhua, Taiwan. Parking lots available and vendors of food are there. Favor in a road and great view around Changhua when your upthere.

This place is quite breathtaking and offers a panoramic view of the city. It has a big statue of buddha, several canopies around the area. Near the canopy walk, there's a massage lady who offers great massage.

I've been here so many times whenever I want to jog together with my besties. The scenery will really amazed anyone who comes here and there are lots of senior citizens who also come to this place to do some physical exercise.

Really nice place to visit. We stop by on our way from Taipei to Alishan. Navigated by Google Maps. There are few things to see here and not just the Buddha statue. We explore the place more than an hour. You can find some restaurants in 10 minutes driving or even less than that. Take into consideration that you need to pay for the parking. However, it was very cheap. Enjoy your time!

Can see the beautiful city of Changhua from this place. You need to wear a long sleeves or trousers so that it could protect from being bitten by the mosquito or other small insect.. This is not that much relaxing place 😕.

Beautiful spot. Any trip to Changhua needs a visit to Baguashan. You can wander around the Buddah and surrounding temple buildings as well as the gardens and wider area. Great gift shop on the ground floor to the right of the Buddah. Several stalls selling street food such as dried squid, tea eggs etc. There's a great view over Changhua from the main lookout - you can see as far as Lugang and the coast on a clear day. Further back there is a fish pond and if you keep exploring you'll find the aeroplanes, steps down the waterfall and the sports centre. There are clean toilet facilities, a visitor centre by the main arch and plenty of spots to park your scooter. I'd recommend walking up the back steps from near the university. Can get busy, but not overly so, just people taking photos. A great place to come watch fireworks on New Years Eve. 5 stars, though my only warning is that at night, there are stray dogs lurking in the crevices ;)

This is the new Changhua Railway Station. After renovation, the environment looks brand new. However, although there are systems such as UBIKE, the problems of the public transportation system still bring inconvenience to the sightseeing of Changhua City.

This architecture has 108 years of history. Not crowded but you will need to get tickets to enter.

To peek into how a wealthy family in a century lived. Only the outer structure and couple rooms inside you do see the heyday of this family. Majority the items on display are from that age but may not be necessary from this wealthy family. It a popular location to take wedding photos, because we saw a newly wedded couple are in full blown wedding dress posting and shooting away. Not photos allowed inside the building, only outside in the yard and hallways.

Simply a an amazing museum. Great display of Taiwanese culture and heritage. Thanks to one of the top 5 richest family in Taiwan. This is an excellent museum. I had a great time here. The architecture is a combination of East and West. Perfectly blended and outstanding. Highly recommend for all ages.

A very well preserved old residence built during the Japanese occupation period, that has now been converted into a folk arts museum. You will find many artefacts of Taiwanese folk art as well as objects of every day living of the olden days. A place suitable for adults and children, and for both Taiwanese and tourists. There is a nice cafe in the garden as well. Ticket can be purchased at the entrance.

Love love love this place. This is definitely the highlight of my trip to Lukang. I believe this property used to belong to a very wealthy family, so we got to see what life was like in the past for these families through the fancy stuff (back then) that is left here. The bedrooms, the office, the kitchen…. are still all here and the past just seemed so vivid when I walked through the property.

Legendary Taiwanese family Ku's(辜) origin house place. Like other families, Ku built it after his career was so success, and reputation was know by the Japanese Emperor around 1915. By 1919, the main building was accomplished, use as Ku family's economic, politic, and military center. you will find rich people how to live 100 years ago, and you will find out the living is much better in the 21st century, even a common ordinary people like you.

Popular Ba Wan Taiwanese meatball store in Changhua. Must try traditional dish when visiting Changhua. Flavourful but the meatball I got wasn't cooked through and was too chewy. Plenty more seats with aircon across the street. More comfortable. Clean toilet. Free soup provided to customers.

This dish is entirely new to me. I was told it's meatball and I was expecting round meatballs, but it was completely different. A bit starchy but the gravy was nicely flavoured with tender meat, and patronised by someone famous.

The traditional Taiwanese meatballs are quite excellent and should visit when you arrive Changhua City.

It was my pleasure to be invited to this restaurant by a good friend. In fact, this has been a restaurant saved in my Google Maps for quite some time. I've been looking forward to eating at this restaurant for a while. As it turns out, this was my birthday month, and I was able to get a free piece of cake as well as a picture taken of the occasion. They printed four copies, one for each of us. I thought this was a very nice touch, in addition to the discount that was applied to my meal Food: the selection is really great, and there is a diversity of different types of food available. I was very happy with what I ordered, and everything was very fresh and tasty. The people I ate with ordered other dishes and they were equally satisfied with what they had ordered. The only one who played I had was that the soldier I ordered was extremely sour. Embarrassingly, I had to spit it up on the table as it really was too much to handle. The server told me that I should have probably started more, but I still think it was a bit too sour to begin with. However, I was very happy that the server was able to substitute the drink for me and provide me with a latte instead. As mentioned, I received a free birthday cake. The amount of food was also quite impressive. There were a couple of dishes that I had to give to one of my friends, and one that I had to take away since I could not finish. I was definitely completely full after having one of the sad meals. And it should be noted that I do have a big appetite! Service: the service was quite good. They were very attentive and took care of our plates as soon as we finish each course. The servers were fairly young, and they may have banged the dishes together a few times, but they were most certainly doing their best! I also was able to have a picture taken to celebrate the birthday. In fact, the server responsible for taking the photograph was also able to send it to my friend via iPhone connection, so we are both the digital version of the physical version. I did not expect this, and I found this to be a really wonderful way to celebrate a special meal among four friends Atmosphere: this is an elegant establishment, and the seating is very comfortable and aesthetics are very lovely. However, after visiting, I would say that it would be better to go with friends and to enjoy and relish the experience! Great service, great food, my go-to place for pizza in Taiwan. Hate the feeling of bloatedness after eating pizza? Pizza Rock offers thin crust Italian style pizza, with reasonable pricing, you can choose medium or large size pizzas. The pizzas are made fresh, baked in their specialized ovens that cook evenly - you won’t find unnecessarily burnt bits, but hot and crispy edged pizzas cooked to perfection, satisfying every bite making you crave for more! There are multiple chains across Taiwan, and they all have standardized quality. Today the crust was just a bit too thin, but it was still delicious. Don’t hesitate to order a portion of their buffalo wings - I don’t know what they put in it, but it’s the best I’ve ever had, and I always order them!

So-so. When I first started coming here 2 1/2 years ago, the flavor of the cheese, tomato sauce, and crust was authentic. It was pretty close to tasting like a New York City pizza. (I'm from NYC.) In the past year, the crust has gotten flatter, dryer, and has lost some of it's taste. It also weighs heavier in your stomach. The tomato sauce and cheese are also not as flavorful, as though they've switched their formula. In the dining area, they always play classic rock 'n roll music, which adds to the experience of being in a traditional American pizza restaurant. On my last visit, they were playing a very bad pop song on repeat the entire time. This is unacceptable. At least play other songs! I think this will be my last visit to Pizza Rock. The taste and quality of the pizza do not justify its price.

Often understocked so closes early, even when they have enough ingredients they close hours before other pizza restaurants in Changhua. Go to Pizza Hut or Dominoes instead. You also close two hours earlier than Pizza Hut (who are currently doing a two for one offer).

Pizza Rock is by far the best pizza I have come across in Taiwan. The staff is very friendly and helpful, and there is a nice variety of pizza, paninis, salads, and calzones. I appreciate that they carry Dr. Pepper, root beer and ginger ale, sodas that are hard to find elsewhere in Taiwan. If you are craving great pizza and a nice restaurant atmosphere, then pizza rock is the best.

Definitely the worst Red Velvet Cake I've ever had in Taiwan and it's 180 twd! (With that price I can buy a pretty delectable French mouse cake in Taichung.) They cheap out on the cream cheese frosting, it's overwhelmingly sweet with no tanginess (Kinda taste like fondant.) Just another overrated place on Instagram.

Just ordered this for delivery. I knew the oatly latte was a little expensive compared to other places, but I was disappointed to see it arrive in a small cup (I guess 12 ounces, maybe 10), but then I feel downright tricked when I open it up and it's half full. You have to be kidding. Yes, I understand the foam will dissipate, but this is a joke. Oh, and the second cold oatmilk latte (no ice) is about 4/5 full. Bowl I ordered is also small and is just vegetables on white rice. I am so happy to pay a little extra for extra good food, but this ain't it.

I am not a fan of fatty food but my opinion is that the pork knuckle here are the best, it is very tasty and you do not really feel the greasiness of the fat at all. The price of the food are considered at the lower side. Will definitely come back to this place again if given the chance

阿章爌肉飯筒仔米糕 is one of the most famous spots for braised pork over rice in Changhua County and I used to visit it at least once a week when i worked in the neighborhood. There is only one Bento option on the lunch menu and dine-in is only available for dinner due to staffing. We got a bento with stewed cabbage to-go and shared it with a group of two. The portion was good with reasonable price and the taste was decent. However, the pork was a little dry and too salty in our opinion.

Simple Chinese pork stew with teasty dressing and tender on texture. Must order a pork leg stew, best of the best.

One of the best lamb hot claypot in Chunghua! There are varieties of meat parts to choose from. You could have them stir fried or cooked in the hot pot. Gets very busy in the winter seasons. Great choice for a reunion or family gathering. Parking is rather difficult around this part of town; there is a parking lot at the rear of the market.

Very nice mutton hot pot in Xihu. They serve dishes in affordable price. Besides hot pot, the stir fry dishes and boiled mutton sliced are also impressive.

Overall, it worth to visit and enjoy special local food. This restaurant is in good decoration.

The price of the food is fair with the quality of food. for around 500+NT you can have a full course from appetizer to min courae with dessert and a glass of drink. the food was one of the best i had. love the quality, and also the presentation. the servers are very welcoming as well and very hospitable. So i went there again with my family and they loved it as well. i would definitely recommend this place and would love to visit again.

Highly recommended... One of my favorite restaurant. The food is delicious even they have a new menu.. The service is great,they all friendly.

Great service, average food. There's a good variety in meat cuts but the meat typically has been manipulated too much and. It a proper grilled steak experience. Service of this restaurant group is always great but the noise sometimes gets overwhelming especially if you are sitting in the middle table of the main serving room.

Small and nothing special. Transport going to the hotels and other places is kind of unpredictable and inconvenient. I wish there will be improvements on my next visit.

This was my first visit to Taichung International Airport. It wasn’t a huge airport like Taoyuan but it was bright, clean, functional as well as spacious. There were lots of seats for waiting passengers. Counters were near and information boards were always updated with flight details promptly. There were 2 atriums, one for Domestic flights and the other for International flights. We were taking Uniair to Kinmen and counters were very neat. Counter staff were also very polite and experienced. Washrooms were spotless, spacious.

It is a convenient and compact airport with free wifi . There is only one restaurant/café once you go through customs and a few duty free shops. There's also a play area for kids and a few nice spots to sit down while waiting for boarding.

Too many luxurious duty free in the transit zone and too few eateries, no convenience store. However, there are plenty of AC and USB sockets for charging, nice WiFi, functional restrooms. And most importantly, it's clean.

Nice new international terminal, the domestic one is very dated, but has more food options. Small size and efficient staff means it's easy to use, and for Taichung residents the convenience is worth it. Also a viable option for foreign tourists if there are cheaper flights into Taichung, with airlines like Tigerair, T'Way and VietJet starting RMQ flights this year. There are new airport express buses running through the city (King Bus 國光客運 A1, A, A3, 100NTD) as well as the cheaper 302 from Taichung Train Station down the express lane on Taiwan Blvd. The international departures area has good duty free shopping, rest areas, and play areas and library for kids. But there is only one restaurant. The food is good but would have expected much more.

Nice airport, not too crowded. It is very convenient to travel from 台灣大道 by the 302 bus.

I arrived here on Feb 20, 2017 and departed here on Feb 24, 2017. I paid the cheapest fare from Hong Kong to Taiwan if I landed here. Although the airport looks nice, there is no rail link and public buses to city centre or railway stations run infrequently!
