Nestled in a charming 1934 building, the Phuket Thai Hua Museum offers an intriguing glimpse into the rich history of Chinese immigrants in Phuket. As you wander through its thoughtfully curated galleries, you'll uncover stories that shaped the island's cultural landscape. The museum also features a cozy coffee shop where visitors can relax and reflect on their experience.
I’m really feel touching and grateful that I’ve been this incredibly museum as a Taiwanese who speak Hokkein language, here presents a lot of information about China migrant how to flee geopolitics and escape to here to try to survive, it’s totally tough and hard working which it’s very thankful for Thai people’s support. They build good relationships until now that Thai-Chinese could donate back to society. This is peaceful society circle looks like.
Neil Y — Google review
Very fascinated to understand the cultural and economic significance of the Chinese influence within in Phuket. The museum was quite clean and quiet which pales in comparison to the busy streets of old town nearby. At the time of my visit there were some works happening in the building so I guess it affected som exhibitions which I was not able to see properly. But other than that, definitely recommend this place for a nice visit when in town.
Godwin M — Google review
Pretty cool house but the price is a bit much. If you’re into the Chinese history of Thailand and industrial development in the late 18th century, then god bless your heart and soul. It was a nice place to escape the rain for us and a good visit before we had an amazing lunch at a Michelin star restaurant down the street. Not bad just not super exciting to be honest.
Anthony L — Google review
I believe it's not worth the 200 bath entry but it was interesting. It's about how the Chinese made Phuket great as they came over during the tin mining times, earning political influence and creating their own communities and schools. In the mid 19th-20th century the population was really 60-80% of Chinese origins, so it's understandable to give a museum to commemorate their influence. Big roof ventilators try to cool down the place, it's still quite warm in there. If you want to learn about Phuket history, you should rather visit the Phuket Museum 8 minutes walk from here.
Andrea D — Google review
The museum is small, but it’s interesting to learn how Chinese immigrants made effort to bing in Chinese culture and keep the heritage. Short intro from Perplexity: Phuket Thai Hua Museum is housed in a beautifully preserved Sino-Portuguese building on Krabi Road in Phuket Old Town, originally built in 1934 as a Chinese-language school for local Thai-Chinese families. The museum showcases Phuket's history, especially the story of Chinese immigrants who came to work in the tin mining industry, and offers exhibits on local culture, architecture, traditions, and cuisine. Visitors can explore interactive displays, historical artifacts, and short films, making it an engaging cultural and educational experience. The museum also features a charming open-air courtyard and garden with old mining tools, reflecting the island's heritage.
YC C — Google review
It is a must visit if you want to learn about Phuket history and culture. One of the highlights for me was learning about the early days of tin mining and how it shaped the island. The displays are simple but effective, and they make you appreciate Phuket in a new way — far beyond beaches and tourism. The inner courtyard is another lovely touch. It’s quiet, airy, and gives you a moment to pause between rooms.
Sebin S — Google review
Museum definitely has big potential, it was a nice visit but I hope they’ll fix some areas.

Phuket Old Town Sunday Night Market Walking Street

Mentioned on
+11 other lists
Phuket Old Town Sunday Night Market Walking Street is a vibrant and diverse market located in the heart of Phuket's historic Old Town. This bustling market, which opened in 2013, showcases the rich cultural tapestry of the Sino-Portuguese community along with Indian, Chinese, and Muslim influences.
It was a great experience while roaming around old Phuket town as its beautiful yet crowdy at times but its a must visit if you love food and shopping unique Thailand products. Pretty cheap for shopping and have a good variety and also has the best food!! We went there at the festival time so it was quite fun around the place!!
Saman H — Google review
The Phuket Night Market is a vibrant showcase of Thailand’s heart and soul—where sizzling street food meets the charm of handcrafted souvenirs. As the sun sets, the streets come alive with color, aroma, and sound. The air is rich with the scent of grilled seafood, skewered meats, spicy papaya salad, mango sticky rice, and crispy Thai pancakes made right before your eyes. Every bite tells a story—authentic, bold, unforgettable. Wander further and you’ll find rows of stalls lined with artisan crafts: handwoven bags, coconut-shell jewelry, carved soaps, and quirky artwork by local creators. These aren’t tourist trinkets—they’re pieces of culture, made with skill and care. The market isn’t just a place to shop or eat—it’s an experience. It captures the spirit of Phuket: warm, creative, and buzzing with life. Whether you’re hunting for unique keepsakes or just want to eat like a local, this night market is a must-visit.

Phuket Town Night Market is a must-visit spot for anyone coming to Phuket! The atmosphere is lively and full of energy, with so many things to see, taste, and buy. You can find everything here—from delicious local street food and refreshing drinks to handmade souvenirs, trendy clothes, and unique accessories. The food section is definitely the highlight — grilled seafood, mango sticky rice, Thai pancakes, and local snacks are all freshly made and super affordable. The vendors are friendly and helpful, and the whole market feels very safe and welcoming. It’s also a great place to experience local culture and see how people from all walks of life come together to enjoy the evening. Whether you’re there to shop, eat, or just stroll around, this market is a perfect way to spend your weekend night in Phuket. Highly recommended for couples, families, and anyone who loves exploring local vibes! 🌙✨

A must-visit if you’re in Phuket on a Sunday! The night market in Old Town is vibrant, lively, and full of character. From local street food and handmade crafts to live music and boutique stalls, there’s something for everyone. The atmosphere is festive and family-friendly, with plenty of halal options and unique souvenirs. It’s a great place to soak in the local culture, try new dishes, and enjoy a relaxed evening stroll. Just be prepared for crowds — it gets busy, but that’s part of the charm. Highly recommended for anyone wanting an authentic Phuket experience.
Rizz 9 — Google review
There are so many food stalls, souvenirs, and local handmade items. The atmosphere is lively with music and street performances. It can get crowded, but that’s part of the fun. Great place to walk around, eat, and take photos. Highly recommended if you visit Phuket!
Zizi H — Google review
You have to visit if you’re in Phuket on a Sunday evening, this street is beautiful without the market on but it comes to life when the market is there! So much delicious food to choose from and everything else you can think of! Great live music all the way down the road and we couldn’t believe how big it was, had a really lovely evening walking up and down :)
Leo G — Google review
Great market for tourists. Lots of food and an electic array of Thai and fusion street food. Some good shopping possibilities too with the usual tourist tat complimented with some classy and original options. It’s held on a walking street with old style houses which adds to the atmosphere. Definitely worth the trek over to Phuket city.
John H — Google review
If you HATE crowds this is not the market for you. There are SOOOO many people, you’re constantly dodging people many of whom don’t care if they walk into you. The street is long, stalls are varied but the footpaths are extremely crowded, we hated it as it was hard to stop and buy food and find a place out of the way to stand and eat it. Bring cash and your patience. Been there, got the tshirt and have no desire to rush back!

Soi Romanee is a vibrant and colorful narrow alley in Phuket, previously known for its red-light district but now transformed into a trendy area filled with souvenir shops, cafes, bars, and street art. The Saturday night market on Soi Romanee offers an active atmosphere where visitors can enjoy local street cuisine and mingle with both residents and tourists.
Soi Romanee is in Old Phuket Town where the Sino Portuguese architecture is very well preserved. Not a very long alley so you can explore in a very short time. Used to be a red light area and now it has been preserved as a touristy alley.
Chhanda B — Google review
Lovely street that ends with a view of a beautiful wat. Other than that quite a touristy and short path
Jo J — Google review
Old town phuket very clean and good for photos. Eating is expensive as compared with Patong and so are the shops.
Sri V — Google review
Very colourful buildings and streets with Portuguese influenced architecture. It’s the perfect place if you’re wanting to get Instagram content. There lots of little street stalls and plenty of good coffee too!
Rebecca M — Google review
It’s a very pretty place especially if you want to take an Instagram picture. Very colourful buildings. It doesn’t have to be this street specifically, just walk around the neighbourhood and discover the buildings.
J — Google review
What a place to be. Amazingly beautiful, houses and shops are beautifully maintained. A lot of shopping options, food outlets and so much more. Soi Romanee can be termed as heart of Phuket Old Town. Soi Romanee was once a red-light district for the many Chinese laborers who came to work the tin mines. The name of this soi is intriguing as rommani is an old-fashioned Thai word that has several meanings such as 'beautiful', 'adorable' and 'favorite'.
Shujaat B — Google review
A very colorful street perpendicular to Thalang and Dibuk roads. The start of the street has a cafe that is an Instagram hot spot (the wedding Cafe, as it is unofficially known - the pictures give you a better idea). It has sino European architecture, cafes and the road leads to Wat Mongkhon Nimit at its other end.
Nihal A — Google review
Colorful, beautiful street. It could be a photo zone since the buildings are colorful. I was there twice. Once in vegetarian festival that was so busy and second at night and it was calm. Like the flourish cafe.

Shrine
Sights & Landmarks
Jui Tui Shrine, a vibrant Chinese shrine in Phuket, is known for its annual Vegetarian Festival. After undergoing renovations, the shrine now houses three large statues of different Chinese gods, with Tean Hu Huan Soy being the most prominent. The shrine's location was moved following a fire that nearly destroyed it years ago. Visitors can also see a firecracker house next to the shrine where people often throw burning firecrackers during celebrations.
At a walking distance from old town, I visited in the evening. It closes at 8. Very beautiful decorated Chinese temple witnessing history of Phuket. There are statues of lions at the entrance of the main temple. These statues have rolling stone balls in their mouth. I wonder, how these balls are carved out inside the mouth. There is a huge long trunk of a tree kept horizontally with a garland on it. I could not get the significance of it.
NITIN K — Google review
I went for 9th Dragon Emperor or Vegetarian festival and spend last two nights. Very crowded and noisy but great experience. The second was fire works blasting non stop for 4 hours and the atmosphere was surreal. Any devotees should make a pilgrimage there once.
Danyl G — Google review
Visited February 2025 for Chinese New Year "Lucky Day" Free entry. It is best to visit before 6 p.m. You can buy offerings and fireworks 🎆 🔥 on-site.

An important taoist temple in the region. Must visit if you are here. Inside, there is also a small shrine for the goddess of mercy. Make a donation to support if you can.
Lucas T — Google review
A famous nine emperors shrine in Phuket. Very happening during the annual vegetarian festival in town. One must visit to feel the festival atmosphere and holiness.
MEL F — Google review
Beautiful shrine and great atmosphere. We were there in October and there was famous vegetarian festival in Phuket There were crowds of people but everything was so calm and good 😌
Геннадий З — Google review
As you approach the entrance, admire the carvings and detailed murals on the grey marble walls outside. Inside, you wander through several colourful halls with an array of deities, paintings and flags. It's beautiful and I felt so ignorant not knowing more about these religions, when I watched the devotees streaming in and out, shaking the "fortune sticks" and lighting incence sticks. The place is so rich in colour and symbolism. Amazing.

Vegetarian Festival Lived with the people of Phuket for a long time. more than a hundred years Vegetarian diet started from The opera troupe is from China. to show at Kathu District and having a vegetarian ceremony there for the first time Due to the outbreak of epidemics, a lot of people died and got sick. but it is strange None of the people in the opera troupe were sick. after an inquiry The opera troupe worshiped Chinese gods and ate vegetarian food, abstained from meat, and performed fasting for nine days and nine nights. and a miraculous event occurred that made the villagers in that area recover from the plague. And it was asked that the opera troupe to convey the complete vegetarian ritual. Money was then raised for the opera troupe to travel back to China to bring the ritual and vegetarianism back to Phuket. Three months later, after the villagers had waited in despair, a junk boat arrived at the sa-phan -hin bridge. and someone from the opera came back with Statues of gods and incense burners have been brought to Kathu District, where vegetarian events will be held on the calendar on the first day of the ninth lunar month of every year, and the tradition of vegetarianism in Phuket is well known to foreign countries. Restaurant
Nestled in the heart of Old Phuket Town, Tu Kab Khao Restaurant is a charming gem housed in a century-old building that exudes history and character. This delightful eatery specializes in authentic Southern Thai cuisine, offering an array of traditional dishes alongside unique creations like mackerel soup with tamarind and red crab meat curry. The inviting interior features plush sofa chairs and warm lighting, creating a cozy yet elegant dining atmosphere.
Tu Kab Khao in Phuket Old Town ended up being one of those spots that feels a little fancy but still homey. It’s inside this old Sino-Portuguese house with velvet chairs and high ceilings, and honestly just a nice place to sit down after walking around the street market. The vibe is laid-back, and our server, Kan, couldn’t have been nicer, she kept checking in on us, explained a couple of dishes, and just made the whole thing feel even better. Food-wise, the pork belly stew was the star, tender, rich, and exactly the kind of comforting dish you want with rice. The salt and chili prawns were another favorite, with just the right amount of spice and crunch. Nothing felt overdone, just simple dishes cooked really well. Between the atmosphere, the food, and Kan’s friendliness, it’s definitely a place I’d go back to next time I’m in Phuket.
Nino B — Google review
A solid restaurant with solid entries. Almost all the food we ordered was good, especially the local stewed pork, everything else was just good but nothing to write home about. The restaurant was equipped to serve children unlike most of the restaurants I visited in Phuket (had high chairs and toddler cutlery). The only big minus, and it was a big one was that their menu listed steamed snapper, but they served us sea bass and tried to argue with us. Thankfully a quick Google image search proved that we were correct. They refunded the order and that was the end of it. No apologies whatsoever for such a miss. Make sure if you order the snapper you get a snapper.
Amos A — Google review
A Phuket-style restaurant that’s really famous among tourists definitely worth a try! The flavor of each dish is amazing and truly delicious. The place is beautifully decorated in Phuket style. The only thing that could be improved is the staff communication. If there’s an issue or discussion, it would be better to talk privately rather than in front of customers.

Food was excellent! Serious cooking skills. It’s a but pricy if you take one dish alone, they are supposed to be share. The proportions are more than generous. The pork was absolutely crazy delicious 😝

Authentic Sino Portugese house. Absolute highlight was our guide (the latest generation of the owners, I think generation 6). He was super knowledgeable and explained the history of the Chinese in the region with historic links going back to Macao and more recent links to Penang. Thank you so much!

What an absolutely wonderful experience. We were given a free guide by the current owner of the house, who gave us such detail on his family and the history of the house and the peak of tin mining in Phuket. We felt very lucky for him to give his time! I'd recommend a visit to the house/ museum to anyone!

It’s very interesting how one family has influenced a lot of history of Phuket. The house is very interesting, but the price of 150฿ for 4 rooms and a 10 min tour is a bit steep. However. It is worth the visit.

I really recommend it. I love a house museum. The guide (Arm) is really nice, explains everything about the mix of thai and chinese culture. He is really funny and kind.

It’s live museum which means the owners still live there upstairs. Surprisingly, we received a tour by the owner (it was not sth we expected, as she gathered us during our wandering around the house and proposed that she can tell us more about the place). It was really interesting, she explained to us a lot about the house and her family, we could feel a lot of positive energy. I think it was one of the most interesting museums I’ve visited. For me it’s must visit while in Phuket old town area.

🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 A Must-Try in Phuket! We had an unforgettable dining experience at Monkey Tree Monkeys Restaurant! Our group of 8 was exploring Asia, and three of us girls couldn't stop raving about this spot. From the moment we arrived, Joe greeted us with the warmest smile and made us feel instantly welcome. He kindly walked us through the menu and explained how everything was organized, which made ordering a breeze. We shared several delicious plates, enjoyed refreshing drinks, and indulged in a delightful dessert. Every bite was better than the last — the food is truly phenomenal. The atmosphere was just as impressive: spacious, vibrant, and incredibly inviting, whether you're part of a big group, a couple, or a small gathering. The place is super clean, and the atmosphere is absolutely amazing surrounded by beautiful greenery with a relaxing vibe. The staff are very welcoming and friendly, always smiling and attentive. The food was delicious with a great variety of options, and I was happy to find that Halal food is also available! We also celebrated a birthday party here and the staff made it even more special from the warm service to helping with photos and little details that made the evening memorable. Tips: - Reservation is highly recommended, especially for sunset time. - Bring your camera, the views and presentation are perfect for photos. Highly recommended for families, couples, and anyone who wants to enjoy great food, excellent service, and a beautiful atmosphere in Phuket. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

The place is amazing with decorations and the staff are good. Definitely instagram spot for the photos but this place is not for the people who love good food. The food we ordered today especially steamed pork belly and baked fish in bamboo were not warm at all. They said the tacos in the menu but it was just the wrap. The sushi rolls and the salads are just okay. It would be better if the restaurant focused more on the quality of food.

Excellent atmosphere and amazing food. Joyce served us most of the night and was such a delight. The live music as we ate was so beautiful. And after the DJ was great, loved the music yet it was not too overwhelming. We booked zone 7 and had the live band on our floor - something to bear in mind if you want to actually see the band. Though they have speakers so you will hear it whatever zone you book - the place is bigger than you would think. If your booking is after 6pm, beware of the rush hour traffic as it could double your original planned time (took us almost 1hr from Rawai).
Nomsa S — Google review
Aside from the place and the food and the price being so amazing, the employee JOYCE was absolutely the BEST waitress we've ever had! She was so professional, yet very nice and sweet. The way she was smiling the whole time, made us smile. Her English is REALLY good, she made us feel at home, and most importantly, her cheerful demeanor. She's giving us another reason to comeback. By us, i mean me and my wife. If any other employee should get a raise, she's the one who deserve it ❤️

I wanted to take some home with me! Such a beautiful location! Lovely staff! I highly recommend this restaurant! When I returned to my resort I literally did tell every guest about this restaurant!

Kan Eang at Pier is a renowned outdoor restaurant located at Chalong Bay in Phuket, Thailand. With almost 50 years of history, it offers a relaxing al-fresco dining experience with a focus on local seafood prepared in various styles. The menu features delicacies such as horseshoe crab, golden snapper, oysters, and rock lobster that are freshly caught and grilled over coconut-husk charcoals.
Original review on the day: Wow.. what a discovery. I found this place as a coincidence, and I am glad I did. Great view, delicious food, and tasty cocktails. They are specialist on seafood. They accepted the card for payment, which was great, so I was able to taste 3 different items. Staff was friendly and great in English. Definitely recommend it if you are okay to spend a bit for a delicious meal by the water. Revision next day: Unfortunately, I got food poisoning, and my last food was at this restaurant. I still agree with my review above and am not going to change it, but after spending all day in bed and clinic, I wanted to let you know.

I recently dined at Kan Eang @ Pier in Chalong, and overall it was a memorable experience. Right from walking in, the seaside location stole my breath — tables shaded by large trees, sea breeze drifting across, and views of nearby islands made for a stunning backdrop. The seafood was outstanding. I tried the blue crab grilled over coconut-husk charcoal (a specialty here), prawns, and fresh fish prepared in Thai style. Everything tasted fresh and beautifully cooked, with good flavors that balanced between spicy, savory, and subtle sweetness. The presentation also had that elegant touch. Service was polite and attentive. The wait staff spoke decent English and were helpful when explaining unfamiliar dishes. The ambiance shifted beautifully as the evening approached: lanterns, soft lighting, gentle sounds of waves — very romantic. Now, about the cost: yes, it was more expensive than local eateries. The prices aren’t cheap, especially for seafood dishes. I felt the bill bit hard, but given the quality, service, and location, I can say it was worth splurging once. If you’re okay with spending a bit more, this place gives a very satisfying and upscale seafood dining experience by the water. Highly recommend for special dinners, celebratory meals, or whenever you want a treat. Just be ready for the cost.

To be honest I saw Marion Grasby’s food review of Kang Eang at Pier. So when I came to Phuket for a holiday this was on my ‘must do list’. I was not disappointed the food, service and atmosphere is amazing! - The Andaman seafood platter is fresh and delicious. - Morning glory is always glorious. - The mong fish was so so good, so so so good. - Pineapple fried rice with chicken and prawns absolutely delicious. - Japanese Eel sushi, I didn’t get any so it must have been good It was a memorable experience dining here and all of us are raving to our friends and family about Kan Eang at Pier. Thank you 🙏

Driving around Rawai and decided to do a small diversion to Chalong Kan Eang restaurant for an early dinner. Arrived around 5.30pm and the sprawling grounds were not very crowded. We sat near the shore overlooking the Chalong jetty. Wasn't hungry, so just ordered a pork stir fried with Salted fish and a black squid dish. Both were excellent to go with beer. Full marks for these 2 dishes. The service was alright, typical Thai attitudes. But Kan Eang has since become a rather commercialised eatery. So don't expect full attentive passionate service. The surroundings was nice. Very pleasant and open air. Sitting by the sea is a main attraction. Prices of food here can be easily imagined, definitely not cheap, but we can give to their quality and presentation. Parking is avail outside the restaurant and we got our lot easily. Would I come again, probably yes when I have people to entertain or someone new in Phuket. But to just drive to Chalong to have dinner myself, I doubt so. In any case, good experience overall.

This spot is absolutely incredible. It was recommended to us by the amazing staff at Villa Zolitude, and we’re so thankful they sent us here—it turned out to be one of the best meals of our honeymoon! We started with spring rolls and fish cakes, both crispy, fresh, and bursting with flavour. The lobster ravioli was creamy, dill-forward, and absolutely delicious, while the poke bowl was perfectly balanced and fresh. The real standout for me was the beef Massaman curry—hands down one of my favourite dishes of the entire trip! Our cocktails came with such fun presentations. My lychee cocktail was just ok (bits kept clogging the straw), but it still tasted good and looked amazing. On top of the food and drinks, the atmosphere here is just beautiful—right on the water, with such a relaxing vibe. The staff were so kind and attentive, making us feel completely taken care of. This place is also a longstanding local favourite, loved by both tourists and people in Phuket for many years. Between the history, the setting, and the unforgettable food, this is a place I’d highly, highly recommend. A must-visit in Phuket!

The location and ambience is what makes this place worthwhile. This is right on the waterfront and that really adds to the whole experience.. There is someone outside helping you park and you are greeted by the hostesses at the entrance.. As soon as you enter you realize what a large area this restaurant is covering and how there are so many good seating options.. The menu is quite large and you get several i.e drinks, food among others… I ordered a coconut drink with alcohol, a fish dish and a pork dish… The fish was wicked spicy, the pork was chewy and the drink was meh… This was a an ok experience and probably may go there just for drinks and snack purely due to the ambience…

The food was amazing, service good and nice atmosphere. Although, super overpriced. My friend and I, we ordered steamed fish and omelette. For drinks 1 Chang beer and coconut water. We paid 1600 thb for total

I went for lunch here at the end of April so it was fairly quiet and I was seated straight away. My table was right along the sea wall so the view was spectacular. This is a seafood restaurant so obviously the menu is very seafood heavy, there was maybe only one or two non-seafood options so be aware if you have non-seafood eaters in your group. I ordered from the Japanese menu and the food was really fresh tasting and beautifully presented. They have an extensive cocktail menu and also a really great and well thought out mocktail menu. Desert also did not disappoint. Is on the higher end price wise for the area but certainly worth it for a nice treat. Would highly recommend

Thai restaurant
The Blue Elephant Cooking School & Restaurant in Phuket is located in a beautifully restored Sino-Portuguese mansion that was once the residence of a prominent Chinese merchant. The restaurant offers signature dishes found at all Blue Elephant locations, as well as an impressive selection of Peranakan cuisine, thanks to a collaboration with a Peranakan association and Rajabhat Phuket University.
We had a wonderful dining experience at Blue Elephant Restaurant. The ambience was elegant yet welcoming, and the food was simply outstanding—flavors that truly stood out and made the evening special. A special mention to our host, Pathomrat, who made our visit exceptional. From the moment we arrived, Pathomrat greeted us with warmth and ensured we felt comfortable throughout our meal. Their attentiveness, knowledge of the menu, and genuine hospitality added so much to the overall experience. Highly recommend this place for anyone looking for amazing food, beautiful surroundings, and service that makes you feel truly valued.

From the moment we arrived, everything at Blue Elephant Phuket was absolutely perfect. We were warmly welcomed with a beautifully presented welcome soup and cocktail, which set the tone for an unforgettable evening. Our host Erwin was simply amazing attentive, knowledgeable, and genuinely passionate about Thai cuisine and hospitality. He made us feel right at home and guided us through each course with enthusiasm and grace. The presentation of every dish was stunning (the welcome plate was almost too beautiful to eat!), and the flavors were a perfect balance of tradition and creativity. The attention to detail from the elegant table settings to the fresh ingredients truly elevated the dining experience. If you’re visiting Phuket and want to experience authentic Thai fine dining with world-class service, Blue Elephant is an absolute must. Thank you to Erwin and the entire team for making our evening so memorable!

Absolutely love the food, the atmosphere and the people working here. Had the best time here with the best food. I got the Moo Hong and some beef satay skewers and a coconut flan dessert and each one was just incredible. I think the Moo Hong was the best braised pork that I've ever had. They also had these special rice burger bread that was just out of this world. I also had a couple people, Erwin and Jane, that were amazing and made my experience here extra memorable. I originally made a reservation at this restaurant with my husband as I wanted to surprise him with a special honeymoon lunch. But he got sick the day of and so I went to the restaurant myself to try their food as I'm a big foodie and heard great things about this restaurant. They helped me feel comfortable eating alone and even made me a special dessert that I could send pictures to my husband so that he can feel like he was here. I was very touched by their efforts. I would definitely come back to this location or their other location in Bangkok whenever I come visit Thailand from the U.S. again.

Delightful and charming staff who were entertaining and kind. Thoroughly enjoyed talking with them and the environment they created - Namcha and Star were really stood out. The food served was delicious and the portion size was hUGE - taste was flavourful and well balanced. Drinks were unique and tasty also :) The atmosphere was brilliant, we went at night and the outdoor premises were breathtaking. Went for a short stroll around after our meal. Thank you to all the lovely staff who made our 4.5 year anniversary memorable haha.

Outstanding food, service, and ambiance. Our servers were professional, courteous, very friendly. Server team led by Dream (thank you!) and a young lady whose name I forget (sorry). We also met chef Paul. Visiting for my birthday, the servers brought out a gorgeous platter of sorbets for me and sang happy birthday! Food - so many great options, and great for vegetarians. We had vegetarian spring rolls and fish cakes, followed by tiger prawn green curry and eggplant and tofu curry. We started with signature cocktails (passion fruit mojito and something with galangal and honey.

This was absolutely the best cooking class I’ve ever taken. It was thorough from ingredient procurement through the final eating enjoyment. Nickky was the best as an instructor and as an empathetic leader. All five preparations were outstanding. And, to help us with future attempts, we received the full recipes along with a high quality apron and certificate. We loved the whole experience.

Oh my goodness. If you’re in Phuket you have to go to the Blue Elephant Restaurant! They also have a fantastic cooking school you can buy ingredients and take home with a kit! Star was our waitress and her knowledge and experience was amazing. She was beautiful and very easy to talk with and give suggestions. Pam’s was also delightful to serve us. I’d give 6 stars if possible ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

My husband and I chose to dine here for dinner at blue elephant. From the moment we walked up to the moment we ended our meal we experienced exceptional service. The food was absolutely delicious; we ordered the scallops and dumplings as starters and I chose Moon Hong, my husband chose Chilean sea bass for our main dish. For dessert we had the mango cheese and they were so kind to treat us to a mini mango sticky rice as a honeymoon surprise. I have to give a special shout out to Jane and Star! They were the ones that really made our dinner extra special, they even gave me a beautiful orchid flower. We will most definitely dine here again when we return to Phuket, Thailand.

In an area known for its many Michelin-starred restaurants, this particular spot truly stood out. From the moment we arrived, the experience felt special—and only became more impressive with each course. Every dish we tried exceeded expectations, both in presentation and flavour. The standout for me was the prawn dish—undoubtedly the best I’ve ever had. It was perfectly cooked, rich with layers of flavour, and left a lasting impression. What made the evening even more memorable was the warmth of the staff. They went out of their way to make the night special for us, as we were celebrating my boyfriend’s birthday. To our surprise, they brought out a cake later in the evening—such a thoughtful gesture that meant a lot to both of us. The live band added another layer of charm to the night. Their soft, elegant music created a relaxed and intimate atmosphere without ever overpowering the dining experience. This restaurant effortlessly combines exceptional cuisine, heartfelt service, and a warm, inviting ambiance. A truly unforgettable evening—highly recommended.

Just WOW. This place was the best meal we had in Phuket and that’s including the five star resort staying at. The best matcha latte I’ve ever had. The smash burger (a signature) was three smokey juicy patties with two kinds of melted cheese. The pork chop was sweet and smokey too. The interior is absolutely beautiful. Overall it was an incredible dining experience. Lunch on a Monday was pretty light. Upstairs was closed sadly. Don’t get to taste a cocktail but I imagine they would be amazing. Can’t wait to come back.

If you're in Phuket and craving authentic Thai cuisine, look no further than Natural Restaurant, also known as Tamachart Restaurant. This hidden gem is a favorite among locals and expats for its traditional dishes like pineapple fried rice, massaman beef or chicken, and pork satay. The restaurant's unique ambiance adds to the dining experience with its rickety wooden structure adorned with plants, waterfalls, fishponds, and quirky artifacts.
The Natural Restaurant is one of our absolute favorite restaurants in Phuket. It serves authentic Thai food that is not only super tasty but also totally okay in terms of price. You also sit in a beautiful jungle-like setting with lots of plants, small ponds and waterfalls and a tropical atmosphere. The staff are very courteous, attentive and friendly and special requests are also no problem. There is also a good selection of vegan dishes and everything is prepared vegan on request. As I immediately get health problems if something is not vegan, I am more than delighted with Natural. We've already eaten here several times and I've always tolerated everything well. And the food tastes simply delicious! In addition to the Thai curries, I can highly recommend the pomelo salad, but as I said, every dish has been delicious so far. We love Natural and come here even more often!

I ordered the crab curry here and ended up with severe food poisoning shortly afterward. It was the only thing I had eaten that day, so I’m certain this was the cause. The experience was extremely unpleasant and concerning — clearly, proper food handling and hygiene standards were not followed. I would strongly advise others to avoid the crab curry and avoid this resturant.

We recently dined at this Michelin-starred gem, and it truly lived up to its reputation. The food was nothing short of exceptional—every dish was bursting with flavour, beautifully presented, and clearly crafted with great care and creativity. Each bite was a delightful surprise, showcasing the chef’s mastery of technique and a deep understanding of balance in flavours. The service was equally impressive. The staff were warm, attentive, and knowledgeable without being overbearing. They guided us through the menu and wine pairings with ease, adding to the overall dining experience. Interestingly, we also tried another Michelin-starred restaurant located just next door during our visit. While both restaurants were excellent in their own right, each had its own unique charm and culinary perspective. It’s rare to experience such consistently high standards back-to-back, and we left feeling thoroughly impressed and inspired. Highly recommended for anyone who appreciates fine dining, thoughtful service, and a truly memorable culinary experience.

The crab is very fresh but the curry just don’t taste like curry, overall still acceptable. Steam Fish with lemon is ok as well. Maybe the Michelin rating makes us has too high expectations from them. Any local Thai restaurant can easily match this standard.

Tasty, really really enjoyed the textural experience with the stir fry riang/miang veggies (Apparently a south Thailand veggie!) Crab Curry was alright in my opinion but husband loved it. Crab Curry goes well with the noodles and reminds me a little of crab noodle soup in Ho Chi Minh Vietnam. Thai ice tea is as sweet as I remembered it to be haha but nice and balanced after the ice melts into the drink. Waitress surprised us with some complimentary mangos after the meal. All in all a lovely meal / experience.

Restaurant
Nestled in a charming Colonial-style building, One Chun Cafe & Restaurant is a must-visit for anyone seeking authentic Phuketian and Southern Thai cuisine. This beloved eatery has garnered attention for its traditional dishes that evoke nostalgia with every bite. As you step inside, you'll notice the unique cash-only policy, which adds to its old-world charm. The friendly staff includes a waiter fluent in Chinese, ensuring that all guests feel welcome and can easily navigate the menu.
Probably the best authentic Thai meal we've had during our first week in Thailand. This restaurant is Michelin recognized since 2019-2025 in a row, and for a very good reason!! The staff was super kind and very professional, and the food was served very quickly although the restaurant was quite full (even though it wasn't peak hour). We came for a late lunch (around 4pm) so we didn't even have to wait for a table, which is great as they don't take reservations in advance at all. If you'd like to come eat here, I'd recommend avoiding peak hours, then you can walk in and be seated very quickly. We were very hungry so we ordered quite a lot of dishes, and every singly one of them was absolute heaven. From the salads section we ordered the pomelo salad, mango salad & papaya salad. All of them were refreshing & very spicy, but my favorite was the mango salad as it wasn't too spicy, yet full of flavor. For mains we ordered the yellow curry with crab meat & noodles which was so delicate & creamy, yet spicy just at the right level. It's on the recommended section for a good reason. We also tried the classic stir fried morning glory, which is always a dish the you can never go wrong with, as well as it balances the rest of the dishes that are usually quite spicy. The highlight of our lunch was by far the fried grill pork with chilli, pepper & garlic - it was the perfect balance of sweet & spicy with shawarma-like pork slices, and it was so good that we kept thinking of ordering another one at the end, although we were so full. From end to end the entire experience was 10/10, so if you're in the Phuket old town area, this is definitely a must-visit restaurant.

It's a Michelin-Award-winning restaurant since 2019. I found it on Google and went to try it. When I walked in, I told them how many people were there, and they gave me a slip of paper with a queue number and took me to the waiting room. I waited there for about 20 minutes before being taken to my table. You can browse the menu in the waiting room. I ordered at the table and it arrived in about 20-30 minutes. The crab soup was delicious, but a bit too spicy for me. I recommend it if you like spicy food. And the portion is a bit large; you can order it for two people to share. The pork was delicious, and I definitely recommend it. For dessert, I think I'll order a different dessert on my next visit. The prices aren't cheap, but they're not too expensive either. The waiters are friendly; some don't speak English, but they'll direct you to one that does. I also bought steamed rice to go, so they also offer takeaway service. I'll be back here on my next visit and I highly recommend it.

Walking aroubd old street already is beautiful, however getting to dine here made our day so much better. Looking at google reviews, we went to this place foe lunch. This place gets really busy during lunch hours. We went around 3 PM and had ro wait around 15 minutes for a table. However, the food was anazing especially most recommended braised pork. The ambience was really cosy along with the food. We didnt much enjot the cashew chicken but overall a must visit place. And yes it also has michellin star rating for the past 5 to 6 years. A good place to dine with good pricing as well. We spent around 900 bhat for two people without alcohol. We had braiswd pork, cashew chicken, fried mushrooms and steam rice.

Came here for dinner, 3 of us spent about THB 1180 with bottled water. Food was really tasty, proper local Phuket style. Service was super fast, staff friendly, and the place has a nice old Chinese-Peranakan vibe. There’s a waiting area but better come before 6pm — saw a long line forming after that, especially on Sunday. Worth it if you want authentic local food

This restaurant definitely lived up to the expectations! We loved the food- it was super super delicious. Be prepared to wait here- 20minutes to 45 minutes is the usual wait time here. We went here twice, once for lunch and once for dinner and both times we had to wait for about 30-40 mins. We loved the pad Thai, the fried fish, mango smoothie, green coconut curry chicken and mango with sticky rice. The restaurant is well maintained, looks quite old and has a rustic feel to it. The restaurant accepts only cash so be prepared for that.

One Chun is a Michelin award-winning restaurant for a reason! From the moment we arrived, we could tell we were in for something special. As we stood at the entrance, we chatted with a couple leaving, and they couldn’t stop raving about the pork belly, insisting it would not disappoint. They were absolutely right. It. was. incredible! Walking inside felt like stepping back in time to the mid-20th century. The decor was charmingly antique, full of character and history. We were guided to a waiting area until a table became available and it was clear why there was a crowd, as this is truly a must-try restaurant in Phuket. Once seated, we ordered a variety of dishes to sample: the famous steamed pork belly, crab meat with lemon sauce, crispy shrimp cake, red curry duck, and clear tofu soup. Every single dish was bursting with unique flavours, perfectly balanced, and beautifully presented. It’s rare to find a place where each item on the table is equally delicious, but One Chun delivered on all fronts. The staff were warm, attentive, and genuinely friendly, even taking a moment to play with our child. We loved our dining experience so much that we returned with our relatives, and they were just as impressed. One Chun truly lives up to its Michelin recognition, a memorable culinary experience that shouldn’t be missed.

One Chun Cafe: A Michelin Bib Gourmand That Demands a Second Visit While Mindy and I typically seek out new experiences for every meal, every once in a while there's a place we go to twice. For us on this trip, this was that restaurant. We always pay attention when the Michelin Guide reviews a city, and One Chun was recognized with Bib Gourmand—aligning with our preference for outstanding food and value. The First Impression: The Iced Tea was strong and made with real, good Thai tea—as opposed to the supermarket Lipton we encountered elsewhere. The milk tea was a clear indicator of the quality to come. Oh yeah, in the states we call their milk tea “Thai Iced Tea” which usually is understood in the US to make with condensed milk. In Thailand you have to order “Milk Tea” as asking for just Thai Iced tea will come sans milk. The Dishes That Kept Us Coming Back: -Morning Glory: We shared and while Mindy prefers her veggies softer I thought it was perfect—nice and crisp. -Tamarind Shrimp: Mindy loved the tamarind shrimp; the sauce was flavorful and hit the ideal balance of sweet without being cloying, and the shrimp were perfectly tender. -Fried Pork with Chili and Garlic: Delicious, with the right amount of spice- flavor without excessive heat. -Chicken Panang Curry: I love a good curry and was impressed again by the perfect amount of chili. -Fried Fish with Lemongrass and Tamarind: Mindy’s choice was another "yum" moment. One Chun manages to deliver consistent, flavorful Thai cuisine, justifying its Bib Gourmand status and earning a repeat visit on our itinerary next time we return to Phuket.

Overall, an okay experience. Took a while to sit down but that is alright as we had a larger group of people. When we did get sat, we didn't get a waiter for a long time and had to get someone's attention to take our order. The food was honestly pretty good, but I think it made multiple people in our group's stomachs hurt after a couple hours. Place is super cute and vibey, I just wish the service was better and that the food didn't upset our stomachs.

Restaurant
Tunk-ka Cafe is a renowned hillside restaurant located on Khao Rang Hill in Phuket Old Town, offering stunning panoramic views of Phuket City. The charming establishment features three distinct terraces surrounded by lush greenery and towering trees, creating a laid-back and lovely ambiance. Accessing the cafe involves passing through bamboo bushes and crossing a covered wooden walkway, adding to the unique experience.
We came from Genting Dream cruise, free & easy shore exploring. The views is fantastic and fresh air. The food is delicious and prices affordable. The service is good and friendly. Our friends were very impressed and plan to come again in their future cruises.

I’ve visited Tunk-Ka Café more than five times while in Phuket, and it never disappoints! The restaurant offers a stunning view surrounded by beautiful nature. You can even book a table with a breathtaking panorama of Phuket Old Town and beyond. The staff are friendly and welcoming, and the food and drinks menu is definitely a must-try when visiting Phuket. My favorites are the Phuket Crab Curry with small noodles and Ko Pi Chum (coffee mixed with tea) truly unique and full of local flavor. Don’t miss the Moo Hong and other delicious dishes as well. Thank you for creating such a lovely restaurant , it’s a place I’ll keep coming back to again and again!

Worth the drive uphill to this stunning eatery. Views are exceptional. Weather is cool. And the food is really good. Be sure to try the sea grapes - it’s unique and affordable as it’s local to the area.

Trunk-Ka Cafe - Local Thai Restaurant Phuket. Recommended by the locals, and also the private tour driver took us here. They all said that this restaurant is truly authentic and long-established in Phuket. It was heavily rain when I arrived. The food is amazing, and very friendly and attentive. Very cheap too. I see lots of Thai customers here so it’s a good sign. Really enjoyed! Must try!

A long-standing local favorite in Phuket with a beautiful view and tasty, traditional-style dishes — though the flavors have slightly changed over time. Personally, I’ve loved their fried bananas and beua tod (deep-fried local herb fritters) for years. Highly recommended! หรอยย!!

Great local restaurant, great services, very nice owner and friendly staff. Good location to see Phuket town view. Highly recommended to come to this restaurant when you have guest visiting you. This is one of the real local restaurant in Phuket which has been operating for more than 50 years. They have very good coffee. Do not miss it, if you are a coffee lover.

Great location on the top of Phuket town, real southern test and fast service. And if add friendly and professional service, plus fresh and cold wind on the hill can say that it is the best place to get your lunch and enjoy your time in Phuket!

A hidden gem on top of the hill “ Khao Rung” with the most breathtaking sunset view! The local Phuket dishes are bursting with authentic flavors – every bite feels like a taste of southern Thailand. I highly recommend trying ‘Look Chok,’ a unique Thai southern palm seed dessert served with ice cream – it’s absolutely delightful and refreshing. A perfect spot to enjoy great food and an unforgettable sunset!

Smooth and Comfortable Airport Experience Phuket International Airport is clean, well-organized, and easy to navigate. The staff is friendly, supportive, and efficient, which makes arriving and departing very smooth. Even though it’s not a large airport, that actually works in its favor less walking and quicker movement through the terminals. There are plenty of food options, both Thai and Western, especially inside the domestic terminal near Gates 36–48. Prices are reasonable, and everything is kept clean. The airport also has a good variety of shops, from duty-free brands to local souvenirs and snacks. Immigration can get a bit crowded, but the staff handles it well. Transportation is easy too, with cabs and shared taxis available right outside. Overall, a surprisingly comfortable and convenient airport great for both domestic and international travelers.

Phuket International Airport is clean, organized, and easy to get around. Check-in and security were smooth, and there are plenty of shops and cafés to relax before the flight. Good experience overall!

Not the largest of airports but that was a positive, means you don't have to walk as much! Getting through the airport was very easy. As soon as we got out the taxi, one employee loaded all of our luggage by himself and helped us in. The airport had a great variety of stores and food options. Nothing to complain about.

Phuket International Airport is an international airport serving the island province of Phuket in southern Thailand. It is located 32 km (20 mi) north of the city of Phuket in the Mai Khao subdistrict of Thalang district. The airport plays a major role in Thailand's tourism industry, as Phuket is a popular resort destination. It is the third-busiest airport in Thailand in terms of passengers, after Suvarnabhumi Airport and Don Mueang International Airport in the Bangkok Metropolitan Region. The airport set a record of 15.1 million arrivals and departures in 2016, up 17.8 percent from 2015.

Its a small airport and it was clean and easy to navigate. Immigration is rush but staffs were very supportive. Affordable food options at the first floor. Cabs and shared taxi is available outside.
Nithin N — Google review
Well designed and run, this airport is a pleasure to visit. Going on a domestic fight to Bangkok through the smaller terminal, you'll find fast check-in service with face registration and recognition terminals, lots of seating and beautifully laid out shopping between different Gate areas. The food choices include basic options but everything is well presented, clean and fast.

Krabi International Airport

International airport
Airport
Krabi International Airport is a small but growing airport with basic amenities such as souvenir shops and eateries. Upon arrival, travelers can choose from various transportation options including shuttle buses, shared taxis, and standard taxis. The check-in process is fast and efficient, with friendly staff at the Air Asia counter. Despite its small size, the airport offers all necessary facilities and has good food options after the check-in counters.
I don't understand the hate that this Airport received apart from the total shops here and my delayed flight. Everything here is just perfect. The airport looks new and quite huge. It is easily navigated. All the custom and immigration processes went smoothly. It is just well organized. The plug socket and wifi also provided. The airport is clean especially the toilet. Muslim prayer room was also provided. The staff and officers are nice and friendly. Just that not much shop open here.
Hafizun M — Google review
A small airport big much bigger than hatyai one. Get to the Krabi town, take minibus is 90b, less than half hour, straight drop off to your hotel. To Ao Nang, it is just 100b. Return to airport, you just need to call the phone number on the ticket, same prices, the driver will pick you up at your hotel. There are few options of free WiFi, just need to sign up. Then you get 3 hours WiFi, speed is not bad. Ais tourist SIM card is 300b for 7 days. 🎬2025.6.15/18

Krabi Airport is small but lovely, clean and easy to find people. All necessary signs were installed around the airport area. There are several shops, bakeries, restaurants, prayers rooms, café. Krabi Airport is not a shopping venue, so please don't expect to see any department store or duty free shops!
Nattapong S — Google review
A small size airport that handles a few flights a day. It’s maintained very clean, even the toilets. Immigration lines are not long, so you can checkin as late as 1h before international departures. The food options are quite limited and the restaurants outside the departure gates close before 9pm. Suggested to takeaway food before reaching the airport.
Charan S — Google review
Krabi International Airport is small but efficient, with friendly staff and easy navigation. Security checks are smooth, and baggage claim doesn’t take too long. There are some restaurants and shops inside, including a few local souvenir spots. It’s a convenient gateway to southern Thailand with plenty of taxis and shuttle services outside. Clean, organized, and comfortable overall.
G-10-DRA Y — Google review
Spacious, well air-conditioned, clean (incl toilets). Good indications. Helpful staff. Big (and affordable) Thai and western food section at the end of the Departure hall. Both international and domestic flights are accommodated. Duty-free shopping is just getting set up (July 2025). Several ATMs in the arrival hall, after going through immigration and luggage. In low season, many taxi touts and people are clammering for business, so be tolerant. Either use the regular taxi (booths near exit) or use Grab. PA announcements are incomprehensible.
Hanno R — Google review
I love small international airports:) You can find different shops, a small food court. There's a good café in front of gate 11. The only issue with this airport is far from Ao Nang or Krabi city

New Renovation. AirAsia check in is a separate area. Eatery before and after Security. Arrivals have plenty of Taxis. Check price to destination & agree before hopping in
