The Hylton Performing Arts Center is an impressive and sophisticated venue that boasts both an opera house and a theater. It offers a diverse range of shows and musical performances. The facility is spacious, comfortable, and provides excellent views of the stage from any seat. However, it might be better to choose seats closer to the stage for children's shows to ensure their safety and enhance perspective. The staff at the center are incredibly friendly, making it a great experience for everyone who visits.
Our first time but certainly not our last. Really a great venue for entertainment. Check out the photos. The seats were comfortable and provided a great view of the stage no matter where you were seated. A good variety of performances so there is something everyone can enjoy.
Alan B — Google review
I attended a concert at this venue for the very first time. There was plenty of orchestra seating as well as multitude balcony seating. The acoustics were great, which made Gian Marco's performance most enjoyable. I would like to add that the attending staff were helpful and informative.
Tahoma L — Google review
Its a cute little performing arts center. I wish the seats were a bit more comfortable. My daughter and her dance classes perform here multiple times throughout the year. They just recently upgraded the snacks area with a portable bar and decent selection of snacks

What an awesome day at the Theater!! Lots of performances and Vendors. I look forward to next year at the Arts Alive !!! Blessings to all who were there.

Great venue-it was my first visit. Easy, free parking and entry into the building. I feel the ticket prices are very reasonable, too
Frank J — Google review
A jewel in the crown of Northern Virginia's arts scene, the Hylton Performing Arts Center in Manassas is an absolute must-visit for anyone with an appreciation for live performance. The ample, free parking is a huge convenience, a rarity for a venue of this caliber. For out-of-towners, the location is easily reached via major roadways, making a night out at the theater a stress-free affair. Inside, the venue is simply stunning. The main hall, Merchant Hall, is a world-class theater with superb acoustics and a design that makes every seat feel like a great one. The performance quality is consistently high, showcasing a diverse range of talent from national and international touring acts to beloved local groups. On that note, I must make a special mention. While I may be a little biased as a member, the performances by the Manassas Symphony Orchestra are not to be missed. The synergy between the orchestra's incredible talent and the Hylton Center's magnificent hall creates an excellent musical experience that truly stands out. 🎶
Jeanette R — Google review
Attending Prince William Association of Realtors EXL Conference which was held at Hylton Performing Arts Center. It’s a lovely modern venue. Two story entry. Conference rooms were spacious. There is an elevator as well as a wheelchair accessible ramp to the second floor. Restrooms are large, clean and modern. Overall a very nice venue.

Hylton Performing Arts Center is a great Venue to see different live performances. I've been there several times to see different things. It's nice and clean, the staff are friendly. One thing is Parking isn't always the best so make sure you get there early. Ticket prices are reasonable. And they offer a lot of for Military. I just recently saw CAMMO voices for free. Was an amazing concert.

The Freedom Museum, located in the main terminal of Manassas Regional Airport, is a captivating attraction that showcases the rich history and traditions of Manassas, Virginia. As a Smithsonian affiliate, it offers detailed exhibits on military history from various periods, including the American Civil War and World War I to present times. Visitors can explore photographs, artifacts, and memorabilia while learning about the courageous men and women who have fought for America's freedom.
Superb museum filled with interesting and authentic artifacts and information from WWI, WWII, Vietnam, Korea, and more recent wars and conflicts. It has a beautiful Wall of Honor and the most friendly and knowledgeable docents. I only wished they were open on Veterans Day so I could have brought my son back to see it. It's a definite gem, and a stop to not miss.
Victoria O — Google review
Worth stopping in. It is a small, intimate experience. There were 3 veteran volunteers there and they were all great to talk to. No tickets are needed (free). They have some interesting displays, including a Norden bomb sight. This is a much better museum than the Mannansas museum a couple of blocks away.
Paul F — Google review
My mom and me found about this museum and went to visit it one day. It is amazingly detailed museum about American military history. I was very impressed by one gentleman, who I can only assume was a vet volunteering, who knew a lot of details about one of the displays. And the displays were first class but also focused a lot on the Home Front which is a nice change of pace. I took lot of photos and learned a lot about local history as well. And the whole visit was very pleasant. It was amazing just how much they put into the space they had available!
Michael V — Google review
Super cute little museum with great history of all our Military branches.
Bobbie M — Google review
I can not say enough about this museum, it brought me to tears. Seeing Mr. Beans memorial, the uniforms and pictures. A great group of guys are manning the museum ready to welcome you in and tell great stories of our past. I walked in off the street and they took time to show me everything past closing time. I highly recommend if you want to be in touch with our past. Thanks soldiers!!!
Leah M — Google review
The place is a gem. Very interesting exhibits with historical connections to the local area. The docents were very knowledgeable and friendly.

The Manassas Museum

Mentioned on
7 lists
Museum
The Manassas Museum underwent a beautiful renovation in 2023 to celebrate the city's 150th anniversary. It showcases artifacts from the area's rich history, with a focus on Native American heritage and an extensive collection related to the Civil War. The museum is located in Historic Downtown Manassas, offering visitors a chance to learn about the city's significance and transformation within its historical context. Additionally, it features changing exhibits, tours, and programming suitable for all ages and interests.
It's essentially a brand-new museum after renovations. The exhibits are at the level of a Smithsonian, much better than I expected. When I went, there was one permanent exhibit and one rotating exhibit, along with a timeline on the outside. There are also rooms for events and meetings.
James C — Google review
The renovation is beautiful. Love the frequency of events they try and put up to bring folks around. The holiday decorations make the town feel very festive. Love that you can just walk in and always learn something. We appreciate the well kept restrooms as well when there are festivities happening.
Reony T — Google review
A great place to visit and learn about the history of Manassas. Located just across the street from the the train station, another spot of historic interest, you can easily walk to the museum grounds. There is plenty of parking on site and plenty of restaurants, stores and other entertainment venues nearby.
Ian F — Google review
Engaging history museum of Manassas and South Virginia. Plenty of parking, the staff are friendly. The gift shop has good books and other cute items for adults and kids.
Tatiana G — Google review
I met up with my friend and her kids here, and we had a great time. The museum is well-organized and rich with battlefield history. There’s also a small art room where the kids had fun creating and exploring!
Pornpimon ( — Google review
Located within Historic Downtown Manassas, the Manassas museum is a a good place to learn about the beauty, significance, and transformation of Manassas with its historical context. The museum and museum store is now open and welcomes visitors. The historical timeline exhibits introduces the birth and growth of Manassas alongside notable/interesting events. The community wall exhibits display heartwarming prospects of young Manassasians about their beloved community, which puts a smile on viewers’ faces. More exhibitions will be open in fall 2023. Admission is free. A visit to the Manassas museum can be a great way to experience the friendliness and hospitality of Manassas.

Ben Lomond Historic Site

Mentioned on
6 lists
Historical place museum
Sights & Landmarks
Ben Lomond Historic Site, also known as the Stone House, is a 19th-century plantation house with restored slave quarters and a rose garden. This mansion was built in the 1830s and has a rich history dating back to Virginia's pre-Civil War era. It served as a hospital for Confederate soldiers during the Civil War battles of Bull Run. The site offers insights into the region's history, including its role as a prosperous plantation worked by enslaved individuals.
Great tour today. Guide was entertaining and very informative. Highly recommended to visit this site and go for the tour of this rich historical aspect of the manassas battle
Bob T — Google review
My wife and I took a guided tour and we were super impressed with how fascinating and educational it was. Our tour guide’s name was Kevin and we highly recommend him for anyone visiting these grounds! He was engaging, extremely knowledgeable and fun to listen to. We are so glad we took the guided tour and we will recommend this place to all our history loving friends.
Justin B — Google review
Tour inside the home is great experience. Hidden gem. Used as a hospital at 1st Manassas. Visit the slave quarters and see the original road bed that Jackson's Brigade used to march to the battlefield and to fame on July 21, 1861.
Tom S — Google review
This site has two claims to history. It operated as a field hospital during the Battle of Bull Run, fought only a mile from this house. Additionally, it is a plantation that dates to the 1830’s. There are not many plantations where the slave cabins are intact; however, this is one. While here, take a look at the photos detailing the logistical hurdles of relocating the cabins. This house is remarkably well-preserved for being nearly 200 years old. Dave Born gave us a great tour. Be sure to ask for a guided tour. Also, if it is summertime, check out the beautiful gardens while you are here.
Joseph B — Google review
This place is so fun, engaging, and educational. We loved the emphasis on touching, smelling, and playing with the variety of historical objects. Try to get a tour with Mike.
Matt R — Google review
This place surely knew how to give an exciting, informative, and engaging tour. If all historical tours were like this, they'd have a lot more people wanting to visit! Well done!
Christine F — Google review
FABULOUS! FANTASTIC! AWESOME! Super packed informational tour with Lance! 2 history buffs had, undoubtedly the best tour guide in the United States. Ask him about taxation and how it came into being. He was extremely gracious and turned off the scents permeating the air. This girl has an extremely sensitive nose. I have been to a lot of museums in my long life. The best museum without a tour guide before they changed it, was the Buffalo museum at fort huachuca. But then the idiots running it changed everything about it. The best museum with a tour guide is this one. Others joined our tour and made it even better! Then they left and we were talking about the kitchen, and the slave quarters, it was so interesting we were there for 4 hours. It was worth far, far, far more than the $5 entrance fee. You can even pick up the recreated bullets, to feel the heft and see how they would damage a body. I include a picture of a chair to show how small the seat of it was. Pictures of linimint bottles, and a photo of the- to me-simply stupid way to say slaves. They were not farm workers or dairymaids. (As an aside, Lance answered my question about the word 'enslaved '. I am now educated and will say that in the future when it is appropriate.) There are only two things in the museum on the tour that you cannot touch. Thank you thank you thank you Lance!
Janine M — Google review
Soldiers wounded at the Manassas Battlefield were brought here. Lots of ghost stories associated with the house and grounds. This is a nice place to spend an hour or more learning all about local history.

We hosted our first Gears & Beers event this past Thursday at HBC and it was fantastic! We had a great turn-out and the hospitality that Joe & team provided was second to none. We'll be back the first Thurs of each month till the end of the year for our Jeep & 4WD meetups. The music was awesome as we had Josh Holland play a live acoustic set and the beer was ice cold. Can't wait to come back. Thanks for having us!

First time at Heritage Brewery in Manassas and I'm already in love! 😍 The bartenders were amazing and the lemon lime seltzer 🍋🍈 was out of this world! Highly recommend trying it and can't wait for them to release it in cans 🤞. The open atmosphere was perfect and the live music 🎶 by Bobby G and The Heavies made it even better! Definitely coming back for more! 👌

We really enjoyed this place. The beer was good. Service was great. Nice location. They had live music and we had a great time. I would definitely recommend this place.

Awesome bar in Manassas! Great beer with a good truck out front some days. You can also buy beer in a growler or a 4 pack, and Bonnie the bartender was awesome and very informative. I loved the atmosphere and seeing local music, and there is plenty of parking and outside seating with a smoking area. Definitely check it out if you are in the Manassas area!

Amazing service, beer, and entertainment! Stopped by and this veteran owned business knocks it out of the park. They have a wide variety of beers and a few selections of seltzers. My favorite was one of their flagship beers, FREEDOM ISN’T FREE IPA”. I can’t wait to come back!

The show we watched, "Into the Woods" was absolutely wonderful!!! My wife, granddaughter and I thoroughly enjoyed the presentation, story, actors and actresses and the atmosphere of the stage. We felt like we were part of the acts. Shout out to Isabella Lacson as she was superb!

We saw a brilliant production of Cabaret. Deep and moving. Sally Bowles was incredibly talented. Amazing voice. Choreography was superb. Supporting roles were well-crafted and moving, especially Fraulein Schneider and Herr Shultz. Will definitely see more productions here.

Welcoming art gallery. I'm from out of state and don't go to any art galleries. We came to view our nieces artwork. I am sharing other art photos taken as well. We didn't call ahead, and they were closing soon after we got there, and I around 12pm, for a staff meeting. We should have called to make sure they were open. I would suggest that for anyone else. Very kind people!
Heidi G — Google review
Beautiful art work collection galleries and are good motivation for younger people to learn. Supportive programs.
Nithu S — Google review
An incredible community art building and gathering hall. It boasts a gallery space and shop on the lower level, and a black box theatre on the top floor. I’ve seen my mother, Deb Hansen, direct, organize, produce, audition, and act in various productions all to the very highest degree. Surrounded by downtown Manassas, you can get eats and drinks before or after. Go visit! Fall in love

KO Distilling

Distillery
Food & Drink
KO Distilling, located in Manassas, Virginia, was founded by Bill Karlson and John OMara. The distillery opened its doors in 2015 and introduced its first unaged whiskey that same year. In 2016, they unveiled their first aged whiskey. Visitors can sample four whiskeys and three gins at the distillery's tasting room while also exploring the production facility and barrel room. The cozy atmosphere includes a fireplace to enjoy a cocktail on cold days.
Great tour and even better single barrels. Id had KO 4-5 years ago and wasn't a fan of the whisky. But a little extra age has done great things for them. Give them a shot!
Gabriel K — Google review
The customer service was absolutely atrocious. Richard sat behind the bar after making our drinks and sat on his phone for around 20 minutes and then claimed he was" texting the boss" after that I asked him a few times to just take the shot glass from the tour, skip the tour and leave to which he didn't look up his from his phone to acknowledge me. After which I then told him. Yeah man, my buddy and I are good. We're going to just take these and go. He dawdled around for another 5 minutes getting us our shot glass and having to be told a few times not to wrap it because we were so uncomfortable and ready to leave. He then tried to tell us to come back to get the tour but if its anything is like Richard I don't really want to come back and do it again. The drinks were okay. They just took a while to make we had two which came to $14. At that price we would have had two more a piece so unfortunately the business lost out on $35 of revenue because of his poor customer service. I didn't really get to experience anything other than gin but I won't be back to try.
Dustin S — Google review
The staff, cocktails, tour, and atmosphere were all great! A very informative tour by Greg, and just a friendly and happy bunch of staff. Larry was wonderful, we talked with him for quite some time before we left. The drinks were delicious. Tables were well spaced apart, and cleaned thoroughly after each couple/small group left. Will certainly be back again soon.
Greg — Google review
I had an amazing time tasting the wonderful spirits produced here. My favourite was the wheat bourbon, but they are all pretty good. We took a tour with one of the founders, which was so awesome. I'll be back again for more sipping goodness soon!
Eric J — Google review
Small and quiet (Friday afternoon), knowledgeable staff. We got a vertical tasting of the wheat whiskeys and cocktails inspired by the Nutcracker for the holidays. Everyone was also super sweet to our toddler.
Kelly G — Google review
It was awesome... do the tour . So many great spirits to try but you have just 3 oz to do it with. From the bartender, to tour aficionado to owner, they are wonderful folks. It's a must on the to do list. Get the Spanish dancers cocktail while it's still available and a must try single barrel rye...you will be planning your next trip back before you leave. Enjoy!!!
Steve C — Google review
Great little distillery here with extremely good wheat, rye, Bourbon, and gin liquors. It's not a large place so if you have a large group be sure to make reservations, especially if your going to take a tour. They don't have a kitchen but I did see some munchies on my way out so keep that in mind as you're drinking.
Rick A — Google review
I had the most amazing time visiting KO Distilling. Everyone was SUPER polite and knowledgeable. If you have the pleasure of running into Greg then you are definitely in for a treat! He knows something about EVERYTHING and can provide you with so much information while making the perfect drink.. And breaking down your whiskey, bourbon, gin fact & flights😊. I HIGHLY recommend visiting

It's also home to the Manassas National Battlefield Site, where visitors can learn about the American Civil War and explore walking paths. The park hosts living history activities throughout the year. Managed by Spinoso Real Estate Group, this enterprise offers exceptional entertainment and dining options for families.
It's a great place for an indoor walk, especially if you want to get some shopping done. It's a quiet mall with a good variety of stores, plus a Walmart for groceries. There are also a few restaurants with different cuisines. It's clean and rarely crowded.
Rachelle O — Google review
I come to this mall several times a year and it’s generally clean and open with a good mix of stores and restaurants. I was surprised to learn that they don’t allow use of their outlets in common areas. This would be a valuable service to customers.
Viv T — Google review
I came here kinda expecting a dead mall, but I was pleasantly surprised. This mall is massive and thriving with plenty of stores selling whatever you may need, including a really massive Walmart as one of the anchors as well as a massive children’s play place, an arcade, go karts and others. Also when I went it was really busy meaning it’s clearly a thriving local mall. I definitely recommend checking this mall out. It was a lot of fun.

AMAZINGG!! I love the design and display of the vending machine here at the mall and they always have the packs i want and never disappoint! If you're in the area and need a quick pack to rip open, trust me, swing by before the good ones go away too fast.

Visitors have praised the professional and encouraging instructors who take the time to ensure that everyone understands the concepts and feels comfortable. Many have become regulars at the center, expressing their love for climbing and gratitude for having such an awesome facility nearby.
What an amazing experience! My son and I have tried this place a few times. Today, we took their "Learn the ropes" class. Dakota was amazing! He took the time to ensure we really understood the concepts and went at our speed. He was professional and encouraging! Then he checked in on us after the class a few times to ensure that we didn't have any questions!! Wish this place was closer! It's an hour and a half away but we will definitely be back!

The place is for climbers of all levels. The staff are super friendly and knowledgeable, and the routes are really well set — challenging but fun! The facility is clean, spacious, and has a great energy. Whether you're bouldering or top roping, there's something for everyone.

VR has 50+ foot climbing walls, arch and roof climbs, and a variety of rock climbing classes for beginners and experts. You’ll need to have some level of athletic ability but you don’t need to be in perfect condition. They also have a fitness area with strength and cardio equipment, a yoga room, two private rooms that can be used for party or meeting purposes. The staff are all super friendly and supportive and genuinely want to make your experience enjoyable. VR is also a great destination for birthday parties. Make sure to wear appropriate clothing as you’ll want to make the climbs as easy as possible.
Timothy S — Google review
Great climbing gym in terms of the route setting and friendliness of staff. I’ve been a member for 2+ years and would’ve give the gym 5 stars, however, over the last few months the cleanliness of the gym has seriously lowered from what it once was. More often than not the bathroom soap seems like it is mixed with water rather than being filled normally (not sure if it’s just a lower quality soap as you can tell the difference compared to when it’s freshly refilled) and the padded floor looks like it hasn’t been cleaned in over a month. Sad to see as I do love this gym but paying the same membership price for a lower quality does not feel great.
Brandon P — Google review
This place is a blast. We took our teenage son and I think the adults had just as much fun as the kids. We have been to several other rock climbing businesses and what was nice about this one was that we had a dedicated staff member that stayed with us the entire experience. I would recommend this place for both beginner and the experienced.
Dori S — Google review
Been climbing at Vertical Rock since 2018. I started with the Learn the Ropes course and got top rope certified there. At first, I was a little nervous asking strangers if they’d want to climb with me, but everyone I met welcomed me with open arms. What really sets VR apart is the community. It’s more than just a gym, it’s a place where people encourage each other, and celebrate each other’s progress. Whether you’re brand new or experienced, it always feels supportive and inclusive. The staff is knowledgeable and friendly, and there’s a strong emphasis on safety and growth. Over the years, I’ve met some of my closest friends here and even started taking people outdoors through connections I made at the gym. If you’re looking for a place to climb, grow, and find real community, VR is it.
Steven P — Google review
So much fun for EVERYONE looking to become or stay ACTIVE! Or even just have a fun day climbing. I live an hour away from the facility and have been twice within a month. Prices are acceptable on climbs and apparel prices are even better! When climbing I worked with Emily and Ethan, both were more that welcoming and made everyone feel safe. Absolutely LOVE this place!
Bianca P — Google review
Fun place! I’m only giving it 4 stars because they need to get better at restocking their inventory - there’s never any shirts. My daughter enjoyed her time at summer camp…especially her camp counselor, Brixton. If you’re looking for something cool to do in Manassas, I’d say try it.

Beautiful open area with lots of history. Be sure to bring plenty of water if you plan on walking the entire battlefield area. No operational water fountains on site. There is a horse train the runs on the southern side of the field. The trail goes for miles.

We were in the area and wanted to make a quick visit to walk through the battlefield park. The park is very well maintained and stretches out very far. There are several areas with signage and historical information to read about the battlefield. If you’re visiting during the summer months, be sure to bring mosquito spray with you.

What a great place to get exercise, immerse yourself in history, and enjoy nature. There are 2 major trails ranging from 5-6 miles. You can combine them for an entire day walk/hike. They are easy to moderate. There are a few side loops to be able to see more historical structures. There are markers along the way to learn about the significance of each area. It's a history lesson combined with physical activity! I have hiked nearly every inch of this park over the years. This weekend I hiked the First Manassas Trail and the Old Stone Bridge Loop.

Made a quick stop before heading to a concert, definitely will be back. I love history and cant wait to explore more of this area. They have a driving tour and quite a bit of trails to walk through. Beautifully maintained as well.

We came here on a Saturday afternoon, and no ticket is required. The visitor center has a small museum with very nice display of how the battle happened and what happened. It’s meaningful and also beautiful. Would recommend to visit if you happen to be in a nearby area.

A truly moving and educational 5-star experience! The Manassas National Battlefield Park is a phenomenal place to spend the day, and it felt like we were walking right through history. The staff is welcoming and informative, and the visitor center provides an excellent foundation. The highlight of the trip, however, was definitely the guided tour. The park rangers are extremely knowledgeable and bring the area's rich history to life, pointing out iconic spots like the Stone House, the striking statue of "Stonewall" Jackson, and the poignant plaques marking where officers like Brigadier General Bartow fell. Walking past the rows of cannons and along the classic split-rail fences with the wild views was breathtaking. The park has a peaceful atmosphere, but you can feel the incredible history that happened right under your feet. The interpretive signs, like the one about "The Marines Of '61," are also incredibly well-done. Download the NPS app if you want to explore with a self-guided tour—it's a great resource!

Manassas National Battlefield Park is an incredible place to visit — both for history lovers and anyone who just enjoys a peaceful walk surrounded by beautiful scenery. The park is well-maintained and offers a great balance of historic significance and natural beauty. The trails are clearly marked, making it easy to explore at your own pace, whether you’re hiking, biking, or just taking a relaxing stroll. The visitor center is also excellent — the staff are friendly, knowledgeable, and genuinely passionate about sharing the history of the battles that took place here. What really stands out is how serene it feels. Even knowing the weight of the history, there’s something peaceful about the open fields and rolling hills. You can easily spend a few hours here just taking it all in. Highly recommend visiting — it’s a perfect mix of education, reflection, and outdoor enjoyment.

Such a beautiful atmosphere to walk the dog. There’s a 5.5mi trail that we will come back to do. The views are amazing - especially around sunset.

This award-winning establishment is highly regarded by locals and often recommended to visitors seeking an exceptional dining experience. Absolutely lives up to the hype! My wife was craving Greek and we decided to come to this place as we were close. Inside is very warm and welcoming. Seated ASAP and we got several appetizers and gyros. Everything was sooooo good. Bread was as fresh as you can get, salad was fresh, dishes were fresh. We will come back and bring people!

Great food, authentic from the main dishes right down to the olives in the salad! We had the combination appetizer with hummus and babaganouche and even basic staple foods like that were flavored with a delicious touch. The olive oil had spices in it so a simple pita and oil was delicious treat. The main dishes were lamb, salmon and chicken and pork kabob which were all delicious and the sides were simple but deliciously flavored. Every single item was done with care and thought about taste and presentation. Best dinner out in a long time!

Absolutely delicious! Food was fresh, flavorful, and served at the right temperature. Very friendly staff and cozy interior. We had the Greek salad, gyro, and gyro panini and everything was simply perfect. Can't wait to go back!

We came out of our way to Katerinas Greek Cuisine because the food was memorable. The pitas are so soft and we really loved the balsamic vinegar mix. The meat was incredible and we loved our gyro and chicken pita sandwiches. The service was fabulous, very attentive and friendly. Highly recommend.

Oh my goodness what a great spot! We will be back for sure. We came for our anniversary dinner after a day of activities and was a great way to wrap the evening. Olga was super friendly, and the service was extremely quick! Do NOT sleep on the seafood bruschetta. It was amazing, the calamari on It was so tender and seasoning was *chefs kiss*. The Greek soup I can't pronounce or attempt to spell, was our second favorite we've ever had, which is a big chomping because we've tried many! The gyro was also delicious, the meat w tender and not over cooked. The real treat was the pita bread and olive oil/spices as we sat down. Hands down the best pita bread I've ever had the pleasure of noshing. Theres a reason this place is so highly recommended, go find out for yourself!

If you find yourself in Northern Virginia, make sure to stop by Tony's New York Pizza, a beloved regional chain that has become a staple in Manassas. This family-run eatery offers an impressive variety of pizza styles, including classic New York slices and Sicilian pies, along with delicious options like calzones and stromboli. The menu is extensive, featuring mouthwatering dishes such as chicken marsala, tortellini rose, baked ziti, and shrimp scampi.
Wow this cheese pizza is the best I’ve tried in northern VA. Great service and clean restaurant as well. Tastes just like NY pizza. Highly recommend this place.
Hayat — Google review
Great place, I've had their subs (amazing), Alfredo (9/10 really good), and their Calzone. I would recommend not getting the chicken with the Alfredo, however. It was quite dry and led to the alfredo going from a 9/10 to at most a 7/10 in my book. It was really disappointing. But otherwise the place is stellar. Quick service, friendly staff, great atmosphere, and delicious bread!
Fahad — Google review
Best Italian restaurant in this neighborhood. Love the shrimp salad, love pizzas, love pastas. They have a cold beer and a good Italian wine too.
EL — Google review
First time going to Tony's and it was everything I expected and more. The customer service was quick and friendly. We ordered a 14in NY style pepperoni pizza. The crust was crispy, chewy and very tasty and paired well with the sauce, cheese and pepperoni! We will certainly return and try other items in the near future! Easily our new go-to for local pizza!

Best NY style pizza in Manassas. The whole menu is excellent. This has been our first choice Italian restaurant for casual sit down meals and take-out for 30+ years. This is a popular spot on Friday & Saturday nights so be ready for a crowd and a delicious meal.

Caterer
Nestled in the charming Old Town Manassas, The Bone is a must-visit for barbecue enthusiasts and craft beer lovers alike. This family-owned gem has earned accolades as the best BBQ in Northern Virginia for five consecutive years, thanks to its dedication to quality and customer satisfaction. Guests rave about their signature dishes like pulled pork nachos, creamy mac and cheese, flavorful potato salad, and succulent smoked chicken.
We had a great dinner here. It was super busy so we sat at the bar. Looks like they also do a lot of takeout business and possibly catering. All of the food was delicious and the drinks were as well. You know they care about quality when they offer spherical ice cubes! They had fun seasonal options and the stew was particularly fabulous.
Kristin H — Google review
It's not their fault, but this location doesn't have hot dogs and chicken strips. If you look up the other location's menu by mistake like we did, you might be confused about that. The employee was very helpful, though. He told us where my son could grab some chicken strips and then come back and join us at our table outside. That was really nice. The brisket Ruben is very good. The bread was evenly crispy, it was one of those sandwiches where they'd obviously taken care to make sure every bite had a nice ratio of everything. Class act all the way. My husband had the sausage platter. He did like his sausages, and they gave him a hoagie roll as a side when he was disappointed none of the sausages were like hot dogs. They're very accommodating here! I've eaten at a different location before, and this one is similarly delightful. I always get the greens, and would totally recommend carrying out the loaded baked potato with your choice of meat as take–and-go box lunch (though I didn't do that this time)
Valentina P — Google review
Came here last night for dinner, and the food was absolutely amazing. I highly recommend their pulled pork, brisket, and mac n cheese as it was some of the best I've ever had. The only downsides I noticed was the lack of parking out front and that all the tables were full when I arrived. It took a long while to get properly seated due to the lack of seating.
Ariel — Google review
Nice place!!! Good food I had brisket bake sweet potato & collard greens 😋 I will be back to try other of choices. Good customer service! Oh two things I would like for my food to come out hotter and the greens have to much vinegar.
Butterfly — Google review
Phenomenal! Cool atmosphere, friendly staff, tasty food. Turkey and the Beef Brisket 2 meat combo was moist and delicious. Sauce choices were nice. Mac & Cheese was gooey cheesy and flavorful. Collard greens were good as well. Only thing I didn't care for was the flavor of the pickles, but I surely didn't come here for the pickles. Outstanding BBQ!! I'll be back next time I'm in the area. Oh yeah, I live in NC and The Bone kills all of the BBQ spots I have been to in NC.
J S — Google review
We tried this on a whim when we wanted some BBQ while in the area running errands. We are so glad we took the chance! I got the 3 meat plate with ribs, brisket, and sausage, wife got pulled pork. Both meals were fantastic! Everything tasted incredible, the brisket was cooked perfectly while the ribs were falling off the bone good. The pulled pork was juicy and flavorful. The side items were so good on their own we could have just had those and still given this place a high rating. We will definitely be coming back!
Jester — Google review
Nice place, I was here on the 4th of July, so it was busy. Drinks were kinda meh, but it was busy so I will give it another try, and prices were a little steep but it’s a great vibe.

If you're searching for a hidden gem in historic Old Town Manassas, look no further than The Bone. This cozy eatery captured our hearts from the moment we stepped through the door. Even on a rainy Friday evening, the inviting ambiance and friendly staff made us feel right at home. 🌧️❤️ The menu at The Bone is a symphony of smoky meat delights, and we couldn't resist diving into their culinary offerings. Our taste buds were immediately tantalized by their heavenly pulled chicken stuffed potato skins. Each bite was a perfect harmony of tender chicken and crispy goodness, leaving us craving more. 😍🥔 But the delights didn't stop there. The sides at The Bone are equally impressive. We couldn't resist their sticky-sweet cornbread muffins—each bite was like a warm hug for our taste buds. 🌽❤️ And the meat platter? Oh, it was a true carnivore's dream come true. Juicy, smoky bone-in chicken and flavorful smoked turkey stole the show. And when paired with cranberry sauce, the turkey reached a whole new level of deliciousness. 🦃✨ The highlight of our meal was the towering Reuben sandwich. Layers of succulent meat, tangy sauerkraut, and creamy dressing came together between perfectly toasted rye bread. Every bite was a journey to sandwich paradise. 🥪✨ And let's not forget about their irresistible mac and cheese. Creamy, cheesy, and utterly satisfying. We couldn't help but swoon with every forkful. 🧀😋 While the baked beans leaned a touch too sweet for our liking, it didn't dampen our overall enthusiasm for this flavor-packed experience. The Bone truly excels at delivering smoky meat bliss. 💯🔥 The next time you're in the mood for a culinary adventure, make your way to The Bone. You won't be disappointed. Prepare to be captivated by their warm atmosphere, attentive staff, and mouthwatering dishes. A truly unforgettable dining experience awaits! 🙌🍴

My husband and I went here for mothers day dinner and it was amazing! We had the dynamite shrimp appetizer, which was absolutely fresh and flavorful. I had the dirty rice with fried chicken and it was perfection. My husbands shrimp and grits was delicious and fresh as well. Will definitely be back! Oh! He had a landmine, and I had a Bourbon Street martini and both drinks were so good!

Great place! They have outdoor and indoor seating. We had our 3 dogs with us so we ate outside. The food was delicious and the staff was super friendly. If you like super spicy the firecracker shrimp is for you! Everything we ate was delicious!!

For our anniversary, we decided to try Okras. Our server, Tadd, was great and the food was delicious. Amongst the many dishes, the corn bread, fried oysters, pork chops and Crawlfish Monica were outstanding. For tasty food and friendly Looziana atmosphere, I highly recommend this place. We’ll definitely be back.

This a great little local Cajun restuarant in Manassas! Wow! I was pleasantly surprised and shocked! The food was very flavorful, I had the alligator bites (Awesome), a half oyster po boy (pretty tasty) with an upgraded side to the seafood gumbo (awesome). The service was outstanding. I highly recommended this place! The key lime cheesecake looks sinful! I didn't get, so I am a bit sad about that. Happy eating!!!
Chevonne W — Google review
I'm not sure I've ever consumed an etouffee faster than today. Their crawfish etouffee was exactly what I needed on a rainy day. We also had the corn chowder, the catfish sandwich, the fried oysters, and the fried okra. I'd order any of these dishes again. Everything was delicious, so now I have another reason to revisit Manassas.
Rex D — Google review
My family and I were exploring downtown Manassas when we stumbled upon Okras. We love trying new food and decided to stop here to eat for an early dinner. We loved the atmosphere and our server was good. We ordered the alligator bites for an appetizer and they were okay. We were not a fan of the sauce that was served with it. My partner ordered the crawfish étouffée and said it was delicious. I ordered the shrimp and grits as it's one of my favorite dishes and I get it often, and was extremely disappointed. The flavor was awesome, however, the shrimp was extremely over cooked. I didn't want to complain, but they were so bad I gave in and asked my server to bring me more. The second portion was just as over cooked. For a $20 dish, I not only expect more shrimp (I received 6 with my dish), but I would expect them to be cooked correctly. Also, I have worked in the restaurant and customer service industry for years and was highly disappointed that no manager or supervisor came to be sure that my food was as better the second time around. I was so upset I skipped dessert (bread pudding is my favorite) and left with no intention of returning to this restaurant again.

I come to Manassas regularly, and Okra's is always a necessary visit. The folks are super friendly, the food is just amazing. This visit, we did the shrimp & grits, along with okra and alligator bites! Creamy grits, and shrimp that popped with bite and flavor! Just a fantastic meal and experience, every single time.

This is a fantastic place here in Manassas in VA. There Jambalaya is outstanding and from just the explosion of flavor from there Jambalaya I can tell there other foods are just as amazing and for sure going to come back for more for sure. This a must place to go to chill or to hangout with friends and family alike and also fantastic for kids as well so if your down in Manassas VA park pull over and come in to Okra's Cajun/Creole straight up amazing.

The Black Sheep Restaurant is a charming and rustic dining spot located in the historic Thomasson Barn. This woods-chic space offers a diverse menu featuring international cuisine made with locally sourced ingredients. From simple BLTs to more refined dishes like miso-sake sea bass, the restaurant caters to a wide range of tastes.
What an absolutely stunning place! The building itself is grand and impressive, and both the inside and outside are beautifully designed. The chandeliers, high ceilings, and overall atmosphere make it perfect for parties, gatherings, or even just a special night out. The food was excellent—not overly salty, perfectly balanced, and full of flavor. Everything from the appetizers to the main dishes was spot on. This place truly combines elegance, taste, and a welcoming vibe. Highly recommended!

The food was absolutely delicious, and the presentation was pure art. The atmosphere and the price were both perfect. Our server, Hillary, was outstanding—she answered all of our questions with care, was extremely kind, and truly perfect in every way. The menu changes every six months, parking lots is available about a minute away, the restroom is on the first floor, and the restaurant itself is located on the second floor.

My Husband and I came here for my 30th Birthday dinner. We had a very nice dinner! Our server was very kind. We had the Patatas Bravas for an appetizer and it was delicious. I had a glass of delicious prosecco and one of the BEST espresso Martinis I've ever had! My husband and I both had the Wague burger which was phenomenal! Everything was cooked to perfection. To finish off they treated us to slice of the Bourbon Bread pudding that was to die for! They also gave me a signed birthday card which was very sweet! I only reduced 1 star for atmosphere because it was a tad hard to see and hear. The restaurant is full of beautiful low hanging chandeliers and this really impacted my vision. This is no fault to the restaurant but i wear glasses and the lighting from the chandeliers was drastically causing my eyes to have trouble seeing due to my astigmatism. I can only compare it to driving at night and having oncoming cars lights in your face. This might be something to keep in mind when being seated in the main dining room if you wear glasses. If I could do it over I would ask for one of the booths that are off to the sides so the 20 chandeliers arent all in my direct line of sight. It can also be very loud since it is right next to the main stage so once music starts, it gets very loud in the restaurant. Make sure to check show times and keep this in mind when booking dinner reservations if you want a more quiet evening. Overall it was a delicious dinner and I hope to be back again to try more off the menu
Kelly A — Google review
I heard great things about the restaurant and the food lived up to the hype. Not only was the food delicious, the serving sizes are large. There are very few times when my son can't finish his plate. He was barely able to finish the burger before he tapped out. The service was also incredible. Our waitress was very attentive and we felt very welcomed by the staff. We definitely will visit again.

What an amazing experience! The food was delicious, hot, fresh and came out in a timely manner! The decor and atmosphere was inviting and warm! But the star of the show was our server, Jake (Jacob). Not only did he offer options at every new course but he was so warm, funny and friendly. Will absolutely be returning!

Fantastic restaurant! I got here 1 hour before closing and they were able to fit us in. Food was excellent and the price was good too! My table had the pork chop, porterhouse steak, as well as the short rib/garlic shrimp apps. Everything was melt in your mouth tasty and fresh. Would recommend making the drive all the way out to Manassas for this food!
Jame A — Google review
Food was absolutely exceptional! When we first entered we were greeted by the luxurious interior and overall atmosphere which was very cozy and formal. We ordered our dishes and they gave us a free bread starter! It was fresh and fluffy and chewy and came with a well seasoned whipped butter! After the bread our meals came, I ordered the fish tacos, it was crispy fish, a salsa that was tropical and tangy with juicy mango and topped with a creamy almost goat-cheesey-esque sauce? Whatever it was it was delicious. And topped with aromatic cilantro and a side of tender, crunchy, spiced fries. The meal was delicious, since the occasion was for a family members' birthday, they gave a complimentary cake and hand written happy birthday! Service was fantastic and servers were very kind and patient. We will definitely be returning for another special event and would totally recommend!
Ahrie C — Google review
Went here for a late brunch on a Saturday. We did wait for a table since we didn’t have reservations but they were able to accommodate us on their second floor patio, where we got to hear the live music playing outside. The eggs Benedict with smoked salmon was delicious, made even better by the amazing sautéed mushrooms I ordered on the side. The biscuit trio was good, but too much biscuit to filling ratio and too sticky to pick up and eat. The wagyu sliders were tasty, but well done instead of medium. The hush puppies were good with the honey butter, but the bread they brought out with molasses butter was even better. The service was fantastic, everyone was friendly and helpful. We would highly recommend this restaurant. I appreciated that they had a kids menu so our son had options he wanted as well.

We went on a Sunday evening and enjoyed the calmer atmosphere which makes it easier to enjoy a conversation than busier places. The food was really good, especially the veal and the gnocchis, and the sea scallops we had for appetizers. The menu changed recently we were told, so I’m putting it here

5/5. I took my fiancé here for dinner tonight for her birthday, it was our first time eating here. Start to finish very impressed, the ambiance was classy, our waiter was very attentive and knowledgeable. The food was delicious. We had declined dessert as we were too full but our waiter insisted on a complimentary crème brûlée for my fiancé. Everything was great, we highly recommend and will be back in the future.

We hadn’t been to Carmello’s in Old Town Manassas in several years, so we recently went back with friends. They offer a corking fee, we were told it was $20 when we called, but when we got the bill, it was $25, which isn’t too bad, as we brought 2 bottles to share. Everything about the experience was excellent! Our server, Brian (Hispanic guy with longer hair tied back) was very very good! I’m calling him out, because they need to ensure all their servers are of his quality and training. He was spot-on with taking care of our table, corking and pouring our wine, making recommendations and telling us about their menu, etc. His great service definitely made the meal and experience that much better! All the items we got were great! Yes, the prices are a little high for PWC, but once you see the platings and taste the food, you’ll agree that it’s worth it! We’ll definitely return!

Several years ago my wife went to a school function here and the food was excellent. We decided to come here for my birthday. The dining room was about half full. Our server was pleasant but not friendly. We ordered drinks and they took 20 minutes to arrive. When we questioned this she said she had to wait on the bartender. We had to remind her twice to bring the bread. It took another 20 minutes to get soup and appetizers and then a full hour to get our entrees. The food was good but not great. We ordered the chef’s specials which we had heard were always excellent so we were a little disappointed. We were a party of 4 and didn’t order dessert and it took 2 and a half hours to finish the meal. After spending over 300 dollars we expected a little more

This is a top shelf place to eat! If you like quality and are willing to pay for it, you will find it here! Everything in this establishment is first class! The food, the people and the decor! Leave the kids at home please! This is a great place for special occasions. If you get on their mailing list they will send you a really birthday offer! Alice is the owner and she is an amazing lady! Enjoy your visit! I promise you will love it! They need to work on bringing back some of the old charm and serving the food hot, my oysters came out cold. Very subpar for this restaurant.

CJ Finz Raw Bar & Grille is a seafood restaurant with Southern-inspired cuisine that offers fresh, high quality seafood at casual dining digs. The crab dip appetizer was outstanding and the lobster rolls were delicious. The waitress was excellent and the beer menu had good selections.
First time patron and will definitely be back. Good service and ample food options. Small, but nice outdoor seating space with sun shades. Outdoor seating has good access for strollers or walkers. Busy and loud train traffic, intermittent, not terrible. Crab Dip appetizer is very good but light on the crab, which is only crumbles on the top. Homemade chips are good but many clumped together so not quite crispy enough. Chili Lime Shrimp Tacos (2) and Wedge Salad with Steak Tips were absolutely delicious and generous portions. Would be nice if the tacos came with a side though. Drinks are reasonably priced and good. Definitely worth a try if you haven't been there!

I visited your bar on the evening of May 2nd and had an unfortunate experience with one of the bartenders—a petite white woman with glasses and pigtails. While she was polite when I ordered my first drink, things changed during my second interaction. The bar was understandably busy, and I was patiently waiting for my turn to order. She acknowledged me initially, which I appreciated, and I respected that she was serving others who arrived before me. However, when a woman who had just arrived flagged her down, the bartender skipped over me and immediately took that woman’s order. I politely tried to remind her that I had been waiting and had already been acknowledged—but instead of a calm explanation or any acknowledgment, her response was: “BUDDY, RELAX!!!” That level of dismissiveness was not only uncalled for but completely disrespectful, especially given how patient I had been. I chose not to order another drink after that interaction. I understand the pressure of a busy bar, but it’s moments like this that make a lasting impression. Customers notice how they’re treated, and one disrespectful exchange can ruin the whole night. I hope management takes this feedback seriously and uses it as an opportunity to reinforce professionalism, even during peak hours. Respect and basic courtesy should never be sacrificed, no matter how busy it gets. NOTE: For reference please see her photos so you know what she looks like.

I usually stop in for my after work adult beverage every Friday. Tori is our bartender and she is the greatest. Very friendly, funny and remembers exactly what you drink and how you like it. Very attentive to her customers.

Nathan's Dairy Bar is a beloved, family-owned establishment in Manassas known for its delicious soft-serve ice cream in a variety of creative flavors. It's a popular spot for locals and visitors alike, with outdoor seating where you can enjoy your treat. The friendly staff and quick service add to the overall experience. They also offer seasonal sundaes made with locally sourced ingredients, as well as special treats for pets.
Ordered a Sweet & Salty Pretzel Sundae, for someone that's not a big fan of caramel -> Approved. Still a little bit too sweet for me, but it was awesome. They gave me a pup cup and my dog loves it so much

This is a very nice family or friend fun & yummy experience. It’s an ice cream shop; however it is an outdoor venue only, so be prepared to wait and eat outside (or they do takeout too). The setup is very neighborhood friendly and cute, including the Bessy the cow bench. I’m so glad someone told me about it. The ice cream and shaved ice are delicious. There are plenty of flavors and opinions to choose from, so everyone in your group will enjoy it. The customers are diverse, ranging from all ages and backgrounds. And everyone is friendly while waiting in line. Don’t be discouraged by the long line, it moves fast. The staff definitely has it down to a science and are super patient, friendly, and knowledgeable (in case you have trouble deciding what to pick or need help figuring out the best age appropriate options, especially for the little ones). You also might notice some customers bringing their dogs; which adds to the entertainment when waiting in the line : ) Note: All dogs must be well behaved to remain on their premise. Oh and I almost forgot to mention, the prices are actually reasonable. Making it a great option for those looking for an affordable place to treat their family. Overall, it is worth the trip and I’m very happy to have found this lovely ice cream shop. I just have to say it one more time…the ice cream (& shaved ice) is so GOOD/DELICIOUS!!!

You know this place is great because the line is always massive and wraps around the entire building. Here you'll find the best soft serve ice cream in the whole area. Great selection of hard scoop flavors and shave ice flavors too.
Mandy W — Google review
We drove about 25 minutes to get to this place and let me tell ya, it was definitely worth the drive 👍 We’re from sunny (and hot) Florida, so being surrounded by ice cream becomes the norm. I was craving it on this cold evening and was pleasantly surprised by the whole experience. It’s now one of my top ice cream places. The quality and price really can’t be beat. When you’re so used to being charged $5.75 per scoop, seeing $6.95 for a flight of 4 is incredible. My bf and I got the strawberry cheesecake sundae and the flight of four. It had pumpkin cheesecake, the bees knees, brownie bomb, and bones & stones. My personal favorite was the bees knees followed by the bones & stones. The taste was creamy, rich, but not overly sweet. Perfect 😋 There was a small line but it seemed to go so fast I didn’t even have time to make up my mind on a flavor! The staff is nice and I loved the cow out front. Next time we find ourselves in Virginia, we’ll definitely be coming back. This place lived up to all the hype!

We finally checked out Nathan’s Dairy Bar in Manassas and honestly, it was awesome. The ice cream was really good—sweet but not overly sugary like cheap ice cream can be. You could tell it was made with quality ingredients. The soft serve was excellent too, super creamy and flavorful. They have a ton of flavor options, including some really fun ones like Cookie Monster, Cinnamon Toast Crunch, Fluffernutter, and more. It definitely made it hard to choose. One thing I appreciated was that they serve everything in styrofoam cups. I know it’s not great for the environment, but when it comes to ice cream on a hot day, it actually helps keep it cold longer, which I really liked. The prices were very reasonable and the portions were generous. The line was long when we went, but it moved quickly and was totally worth the wait—especially since it was a hot day. Another bonus: the place is dog-friendly and they even offer pup cups. There’s also plenty of parking, and they stay open late, which makes it a perfect evening spot to cool off with a treat. Overall, Nathan’s Dairy Bar definitely lived up to the hype. We’ll be back for sure.

Hands down the best ice-cream I have tasted in a while. The prices are amazing super cheaper. Everything in the picture below was $16. The service was lighting fast. I waited 2 mins in peak hours You equally have a 36 hole minigolf course next door which makes it a beautiful spot for a date.

Zandra's Taqueria, Manassas

Mentioned on

Taco restaurant
Zandra's Taqueria in Manassas is a vibrant Mexican restaurant and taco specialist that offers a modern twist on traditional Mexican cuisine. The restaurant features a beautifully decorated interior with bright and warm lighting, as well as a newly renovated roof deck where patrons can enjoy their meals. Live music performances are held every night, with live bands entertaining guests on the patio during weekends.
Our waiter (Jhordyz?) did a phenomenal job taking care of us. He was kind-hearted, professional, and attentive. I ordered the steak fajitas. The steak could have been marinated longer to get rid of the toughness. Otherwise, I would highly recommend this beautifully presented dish. My friend ordered a taco salad. Instead, he received a cobb salad. We only realized this mistake toward the end of the meal. Kudos to management for rectifying this mistake! Keep in mind that Zandra’s serves their taco salad in a bowl rather than a shell. The bathrooms here are immaculately clean with private stalls and an all-gender shared sink. Zandra’s boasts a large bar, along with a jukebox playing current tracks. If you want a quiet dining experience, you might want to look elsewhere. However, overall, we were quite happy with our Zandra’s experience.

Cute little spot to frequent while strolling Old Town Manassas. Rooftop bar with an array of delicious taco options. I had the Al Pastor, jerk and shrimp tempura. Queso was quite flavorful. Service was excellent! Only critique is that they don’t offer virgin frozen margarita’s or complimentary chips and salsa. Will certainly be retuning.
Shenita B — Google review
Great rooftop seating with a nice view overlooking the main road in Manassas. I visited during First Friday, so the place was packed, but our waitress was still attentive and very personable. Unfortunately, the food didn’t live up to expectations—the appetizers (corn dip and queso) were oily and lacked flavor. Overall, the atmosphere and service were great, but the food could definitely use some improvement.

Jess C. is phenomenal!!! Myself and a couple girlfriends stopped by for lunch, and Jess was the only person working on the floor (Assuming they were shorthanded, totally understand) Jess was not only greeting customers coming through the door, seating them, taking orders, running food even up and down the stairs and outside. It was crazy and most people would crack under pressure like that and she did it effortlessly with a smile on her face!!! She deserved a raise and all the praise!!!
Valerie-Anne B — Google review
We went there on a Sunday afternoon around 3:30. We were immediately greeted and told that we could sit anywhere, so we sat by the window. I guess the hostess forgot to tell the server that people entered the restaurant because we waited another 15 minutes and then I asked my daughter to go ask the bartender and ask if there was a server in the area where we sat. Finally, a server came over with two glasses of water and took our drink order. We both ordered margaritas which I admit were very good, you could tell they were not made from a sugary mix. My daughter ordered three different varieties of tacos which she said each one was pretty good. I ordered the Cobb salad which was fine except I really didn't like the beans and tomato sauce that was one of the sides in the Cobb salad. The problem now is that the server didn't bring any utensils. Knowing I ordered a salad. Was I expected to eat this with my fingers? So when she eventually came back to the table to check on us, I had to ask for utensils. I must admit I was not very pleased with this visit to Zandra's today. Four stars for good cocktails and tacos. Three stars for everything else.
Phyllis C — Google review
Very nice staff, great bar tenders. Food is really good, unfortunately at the moment though, they have a limited menu as I believe they have to enhance their kitchen to be able to fulfill more than tacos and salads. I rated it four stars because #1 tacos should be cheaper than what they charge and #2 chips and salsa aren't free like more Mexican restaurants. I mean...it makes me sound cheap..but when you spoil someone with free salsa their whole lives you get used to having it. I swear I'm not entitled. I just love chips and salsa but don't like paying. Give me free chips and salsa, lower prices on the small tacos and I'll change it to a 5 star review.

Very good vibe! It was quiet and not very busy. The food was fresh and extremely flavorful! Will be going back to try one of their many other options!

Wonderful family-run restaurant that makes you feel like family. And the best pancakes I have ever had! Fresh, hot breakfast was served fast and the staff are friendly. We can't wait to return and try dinner.

Newly redecorated and looking good! A nice home style diner with a large menu. I had a gyro salad, quite enjoyable. The ladies had a special, watermelon and feta chicken salad, both were happy, and the portions were generous.

Great food and such a variety of types! Greek, American, Mexican and more. Loved the Greek trio where I got a sample of 3 things I loved so I didn't have to choose just 1. Service is very friendly and a welcoming environment. Being from out of town that was really nice. When I go back to the Bristow amphitheater I'll be eating here again!

This was our first time eating at the Ashton Family restaurant and my husband and I thought that the food was delicious. We shared the Greek trio and Greek salad and it was excellent. We particularly liked the spanakopita. Our server, Flor, was friendly and helpful. She brought us a few plates so we can share our meals. We will definitely come back. Prices were very decent as well.

Traveling for work in the area, I was told I "needed" to stop and eat here. They told me last year when I was in the area, but I didn't stop in. I did today, and I dont knowbwhat the hype was all about. Diner food quality for sure, though I was assured its the "best diner food I'll ever have".......Definitely not. I ordered the calamari, which came out to the table 4 minutes after I ordered it......too fast. That means it was either not fresh, or not fried long enough. It was very rubbery. I ordered the Greek Trio for my meal.....nothing great here. Food was at least edible, but I wont be returning, I will be sure to let my customer know that to the locals, this might be the best food in the area, but I'd much rather drive 30-45 minutes out of the area for better food.

We have frequently eaten at Ashton since they opened. We feel like family when there. We have never had a bad meal there, regardless of time of day. They make light and fluffy pancakes, and some of the best crispy bacon we've ever had. There are cost effective breakfast specials during the week. Coffee is hot and regularly refilled. Marvin (owner,) is on site and checks with his customers to be sure everyone is happy. They have taken to bottling their own secret sauce and it goes on lots of things, and has a kick. Bottles are for sale. You can't go wrong stopping at Ashton for a meal any time of day.

Baltimore/Washington International Airport

International airport
Airport
Baltimore/Washington International Thurgood Marshall Airport is a convenient travel hub with direct rail service to Baltimore and Washington, DC. The airport offers free WiFi for travelers. Baltimore is known for its vibrant queer community, rich history, and diverse culture. New arrivals should consider factors like accommodation cost, lifestyle offerings, amenities access, and proximity to work when choosing a neighborhood. Families relocating to Baltimore prioritize family-friendly areas close to good schools.
Stopped thru on a layover mid week/mid summer. I’ve traveled all over the US, my first time at this one and I LOVE this airport!! It’s smaller, easy to navigate, lots of restaurants and food choices. The bathrooms were very clean and love the light system to show open stalls along with the sign outside the bathrooms (all airports need this!) Simple and clean!
Michelle — Google review
I didn't expect that Baltimore airport would be this big and clean. Impressive. The only thing I'm not sure it is a not a good thing or not is the carpet to the gates. It's a bit hard to go with carry on luggage. Not smooth. There are lots of restaurants too. Want to visit Baltimore in the future. This time around was just lay over.

This is one of my favorite airports. It's easy to navigate. I've only been to concourse D. The bathrooms were clean. I enjoyed sitting in the rocking chairs and looking at the planes. Lots of food choices...I saw The Green Turtle, Apple Annie's, Smoothie King, McDonald's, Dunkin' Donuts, and a food market. All the staff I came into contact with was friendly.

Among the hyperspace lanes of the Northeast, BWI shines like a well-placed navigation beacon. A trusted stop on my galactic journeys, this mid-size starport is a key stronghold for Southwest Airlines travelers — where flight plans run smoother than a Jedi’s lightsaber through butter. The layout is compact and efficient — easy to navigate even without a protocol droid or datapad. Food and shopping outposts are plentiful and, surprisingly, BWI is one of the more reasonably priced airports for meals and shops. A rare victory for travelers trying to protect their galactic credits. My go-to dining stop? Leann Chin, where the crew welcomes you like an old friend at the Jedi Temple, and the cuisine is strong with the wok-side of the Force. Behind the blue construction walls, the airport is undergoing a major transformation — a new A/B Connector spanning over 200,000 square feet (that’s roughly the area of two football fields), plus a high-tech baggage system stretching nearly two miles — longer than the Baltimore Harbor Tunnel! Once complete, travelers can expect smoother connections, expanded lounges, and upgraded restrooms worthy of the Galactic Council. Speaking of restrooms — many have already been modernized, offering comfort, space, and cleanliness that would make any traveler breathe a sigh of relief before their next hyperspace jump. ⚠️ Ground Transport Intel: The rental car facility is located off-site at 7432 New Ridge Rd., Hanover, MD 21076. Free airport shuttles run between the terminal and the rental car base, with pickup points at Doors 1, 11, and 16 on the lower level of Arrivals. Just note — shuttle delays can occur during peak hours due to driver shortages, so allow extra time for your mission. Still, the Force flows well at BWI. Friendly staff, fair prices, and visible upgrades make this a top-tier mid-size hub for travelers of all ranks — from Padawan tourists to seasoned Jedi business fliers.
Dain W — Google review
I recently flew through BWI Airport and overall, I had a pretty smooth experience. The airport is easy to get to with good highway access and even train options if you’re coming from DC or Baltimore. Parking is available, though it can get a bit crowded during peak times. The terminals are big but manageable, and I liked that you can walk around without feeling completely lost like in some huge airports. There are plenty of food and shopping options, plus free Wi‑Fi throughout the airport. I also noticed the airport is pretty family‑friendly and has helpful signage to make navigation simple. Security was a little slower than expected during my visit, especially compared to other mid-sized airports, so I’d suggest arriving a bit early just in case. Some areas of the terminal felt a bit dated and congested, but everything was clean and functional. If you’re looking for luxury lounges or high-end retail, this isn’t the airport for that, but for basic comfort and convenience, it works well. The staff were friendly and helpful, and everything ran fairly smoothly even with a busy crowd. Overall, I felt BWI is a solid option for anyone traveling in or out of the Baltimore/DC area. It’s convenient, not overly stressful, and has enough amenities to keep you comfortable.

Everything was outstanding except the transport assistance. I had a checked bag. He insisted on putting the bag on the wheelchair before we were ready, before the tag was put on. Each time a member of my family tried to pull it off the wheelchair he would grab it and shove it under again. We finally got it tagged and he started walking towards tsa. I stopped him and asked him why we still had the checked bag KNOWING there were things in there that could NOT go through TSA. He said it's fine its fine. Don't worry. I'm only able to stand for VERY short periods. I get through scanning, shaking in pain, only for tsa to start going through my checked bag. I tell them it's a checked bag and she's just as confused as me as to why this CHECKED bag is sitting on the conveyor belt with 16oz lotion, hygiene products well over 3oz. She tells me and the transport person the bag has to be taken back out to the delta counter. Now we have to all go all the way back out, drop the bag at Delta and go through TSA all over again. We arrived at the airport at 3:45 am. We got to our gate just before 5:00 am! I love the airport but will now have to go through the inconvenience of bringing my own chair and gate checking it. Not happy
Annie S — Google review
Convenient and easy to navigate. BWI is a solid airport with a good balance of convenience and amenities. It’s smaller than Dulles or Reagan, which makes check-in and security faster, but it can get crowded during peak times. The food court has some nice local options, vegetarian options are less could find only vegetarian salad options and the airport layout is simple enough for first-time travelers. My only complaint is that some gates have limited seating, but overall, it’s a reliable airport experience.
Drsangeeta J — Google review
Super clean restrooms, good selection of restaurants, could use a little more variety of retail options - other than the usual candy/neck pillow/bottled water/books/charging cables stores. Take a look at other major airport offerings for things like Johnson & Murphy, Tumi, and other stores you'd find in an average indoor mall. Thousands of passengers walk by the storefront every day! Great idea though for having a sit-down restaurant on the public/non-security side of the airport for people who might be in the building but not necessarily traveling, like someone picking up or dropping off family or friends. I look forward to passing through again!

Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport

Airport
Sights & Landmarks
Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport, located just across the Potomac River in Virginia, offers stunning views of the DC landscape during takeoff and landing. The airport features direct subway service into the city and is known for its easy accessibility. Adjacent to the airport is a park where visitors can experience planes landing from up close. The airport provides a great travel experience with clean facilities, efficient security, and plenty of dining options on each concourse.
Very easy airport to get around and super convenient. Security is smooth, especially with CLEAR. They’ve updated the Admirals Lounge and added a new Centurion Lounge and Capital One Lounge, which are great options if you have access. Big bonus that there’s a Metro stop right at the airport, so it’s really easy to get into D.C.
Dana D — Google review
This airport is the closest to downtown Washington DC. The location is amazing where it is convenient to take Metro Subway. The airport is kind of small but beautiful with good service, clean facilities, and fast WiFi. The view in the air is impressive along the river to the National Mall. I was feeling the airplane would land on the river. However, there are few restrooms at the Southwest terminal after security checks, so I exited for restrooms and went back doing the security check again.
Vincent L — Google review
My first time flying in to here was a fairly good experience. It's a smaller, older complex that was easy to navigate through and wasn't crowded at all. The concourse area has quite a few eateries. Everything is close to each other. My only gripe was that the bags took so long to come out, even for a small airport. We waited about 30 minutes. Not a big deal but just saying. Taxi departures were quick and easy. FUN TIPS: Due to its location, I got some excellent shots of the Mall & monuments before landing. They had an American Airlines jet on the tarmac that was painted with the old AA logo and design. Very cool.

A very nice airports! It is very efficient, when we walk to the belt we almost get our luggage immediately! The staff are very nice although it is crowded and busy . There are a lot of restaurants in the airports as well. The transportation is good, can take the metro blue line and yellow lines after walking in 10 minutes. Also the rental cars, uber, taxi and shuttles are very convenient!

A noble stronghold in the capital’s realm – compact, swift, but not without its scrolls of confusion. Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport is a well-guarded outpost near the heart of the empire. Unlike the giant fortresses of Miami or JFK, this one is cozy, efficient, and tailored more for the quick-strike adventurer than the globe-trotting wizard. Security lines? Surprisingly humane. Boarding? Often swift. Location? Unbeatable – mere minutes from the halls of power. But beware: signage is sometimes vague, food options limited like a village inn at midnight, and construction zones can spawn without warning like random encounters. Still, it gets you where you need to go – with honor, dignity, and minimal side quests. A solid 4/5 – the kind of airport where even a cleric wouldn’t lose his patience.
Der T — Google review
This is a pretty cool airport. It's modern, has cool displays, and has a good aesthetic. You can see the Washington monument and the capitol from here across the river, as well as Arlington. Nice amenities, and easy to navigate. However, there is just one really disappointing thing. While a metro station is at the airport, there is no people mover! I sincerely believe all good airports need a people mover. Still, it was great.
Penguin O — Google review
I had a great experience flying through Reagan National Airport. The airport is clean, well-organized, and conveniently located just minutes from downtown D.C. Security lines moved quickly, and the staff were courteous and efficient. Overall, a smooth and pleasant experience!

Easy to get around and barely no wait at the TSA lines. The Terminal 1 Southwest wing is a little chaotic though. They gates are very close to each other and you hear all of the announcements at once including the ones that belong to other gates.

Dulles International Airport

International airport
Airport
Dulles International Airport is the main airport serving the Washington D.C. area, located about 30 miles west of the city. The airport features a main terminal designed by Eero Saarinen and offers nonstop domestic and international flights to over 100 destinations with various airlines. While it brings millions of travelers through Virginia each year, some visitors have noted that it could improve its dining options, duty-free shops, and overall facilities.
I’ve been here multiple times and have enjoyed my experiences. Getting around the airport is easy and there are multiple options to go from place to place. The check in area is huge and looks amazing. Security can get busy some days, but is mostly easy to get through. There are plenty of options for food and seating. There are many lounges like the Capital One lounge and Chase Sapphire lounge. If flights are cheap, I recommend flying out of here.
Carter W — Google review
A functional stronghold, but no bard will sing songs about it. Dulles International Airport does the job – like a sturdy keep on the edge of the realm. It gets you where you need to go, but don’t expect enchantments or fanfare. Navigation feels like a side quest with poor map markers, and the shuttle trains between terminals add a touch of time travel (into the early 2000s). Security lines can feel like facing a gatekeeper with way too many riddles. That said, it’s clean, mostly efficient, and has enough food options to keep your party from starving. But ambiance? Let’s just say it’s more “orc camp” than “elven capital.” Verdict: Not a nightmare dungeon, but definitely not a critical hit either. Just roll your dice, pass through, and move on.
Der T — Google review
Even though there is no train system but its shuttles connect car rental center very well. The transit shuttle between the terminals is also a very smart and effective design. It’s a very cool airport.
Case H — Google review
Dulles International Airport serves the Washington, D.C. area and is a major hub for international and long-haul flights. The main terminal is architecturally striking, and the airport offers a wide range of global destinations. Recent improvements have enhanced dining and lounge options, especially for international travelers. However, the airport can be challenging to navigate due to long distances between gates and reliance on underground trains or mobile lounges. Some areas still feel dated, and public transit access is less convenient compared to other major U.S. airports!!!
Arch S — Google review
Washington Dulles International Airport (IAD) is a clean, well-organized airport with plenty of amenities. Security lines usually move efficiently, and the staff are generally helpful and professional. The terminal layout is spacious and bright, which makes navigating between gates fairly easy. One thing to note is that depending on your gate, you may need to take the AeroTrain or one of the mobile lounges, which can add a few extra minutes to your trip — so plan ahead. Food and lounge options are solid, with a nice mix of quick bites and sit-down spots. Overall, it’s a good airport experience, and I appreciate how well it’s maintained compared to other large international airports.

I love this airport; it's compact yet offers a great variety of food options. I also find entertaining watching the constant stream of planes taking off and landing.

The airport is not bad but when i went through customs it took me forever its not organized at this point , after that i bought cigarettes from the duty free cuz thats the first thing u think about after a 9 hrs flight from Europe, anyway they sell cigarettes and no smoking room at all i literally walked all over the places and no way to smoke , thats really unfortunate cuz ppls like me can only focus with cigarettes. Only smokers can understand .
Saidi H — Google review
Had connecting flight here and it appears they are expanding, building new terminal or something. I landed and connected at the old terminal I guess and walked to maybe an updated section of it but the restrooms were awful. They were filthy, and most employees I interacted with in the airport didn’t seem to speak English. At least very little if any. One apparently didn’t know what “restroom” was. He kept pointing at a trash can a few feet away. Food was horribly expensive and not much there to choose from. I didn’t see very many ”restaurants” like most airports have. See my pic of sandwich and a red bull, that was $25! Really I’m glad I was passing through and only there 1 hour before boarding. Maybe I should’ve listened to everyone and went through Pittsburgh. I wouldn’t recommend an extended layover there. But maybe it was just the gates I was near. I can’t say I saw the whole airport.
