Points of Interest & Landmarks
Mihama American Village is a vibrant outdoor shopping and entertainment hub that captures the essence of the West Coast of the United States right in Okinawa. Established in 1998, this expansive complex spans an area comparable to five Tokyo Domes and features over 130 diverse shops, restaurants, and attractions. The iconic Ferris wheel serves as a landmark for visitors exploring Depot Island, where you can find everything from trendy clothing to unique imported goods at American Depot.
Tourists from all countries enjoy AV. Great beach and atmosphere. Family-friendly, food and dessert options. A ton of shops to peruse. Great vibe. Upbeat areas, calm areas. Something for everyone. And the sunsets are spectacular!
Will S — Google review
We loved the American Village, and wish we had stayed there. We traveled approx 30 mins, 3 nights in a row. The village had a great vibe, with lots of people, a beach, beach paths, lots of shops, and (most importantly for us) many many restaurants, food trucks etc, many that catered for gluten free/coeliac/celiac dietary needs. The lights, brightly coloured buildings and fireworks were beautiful. The American Village had the energy we craved, whilst staying at a very remote, and rule-filled resort. 🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩
Jess — Google review
A fun and lively place with a unique mix of Japanese and American vibes. Lots of restaurants, shops, and lights — especially beautiful in the evening. It feels modern and a bit artificial, but still charming in its own way. Perfect for a walk, taking photos, and enjoying the seaside atmosphere. Not really a place for deep culture, but great for entertainment and good energy.
Ricardo S — Google review
Love all about here so much. Great memory with this place, so colorful amd look very lifely vibe. All shops, cafe and resturants look very nice. Pork Tamako amd Blue Seal ice cream are so good. And I do love Zhuvago cafe a lot, Tramisu amd coffee there were very delicious. Tones of sourvinors there with very good price. And I do love a shop with Christmas Ornaments. I visited there in the morning with less people.
Chutamaneerat S — Google review
As the name is stating, it’s like you are in Hawaii and Las Vegas combined. Thus, If you enjoy the American vipe, you will feel it there. Many US people are living there and you will see them around. Very nice shows and great food. Eat from the restaurant that are open inside the market, they are delicious. The beach are fun, my kids enjoyed it. But try not to go on the weekend as it will be crowded with teenagers.

The American Village in Okinawa is an absolute favorite spot! 🌅 The atmosphere is unique – a perfect blend of Japanese calm and American style. There are plenty of great restaurants, cafés, and shops, and the sunset by the sea is simply breathtaking. Especially in the evening, when everything lights up in vibrant colors, the vibe is amazing. Everything is clean, modern, and beautifully designed. Highly recommended – definitely five stars!
T. S — Google review
We visited American Village on a Saturday evening and absolutely loved it. The place is so lively and full of happy vibes. The buildings really give off a true American feel. This is one of the main reasons I would love to come back to Okinawa!
One P — Google review
Interesting place. Nice promenade and beach, mall and lot of different shops and restaurants and it's all really close to each other. Time to time there is a military airplane flying around as it's very close to the airport. But definitely worth a visit

Chatan Park Sunset Beach is a picturesque destination that offers stunning views of the ocean, especially during sunset. Nestled in the vibrant Okinawan resort area, it features a charming seafront promenade lined with protective concrete barriers. Visitors can explore the nearby Okinawa Music Box Museum, which boasts an impressive collection of over 10,000 music boxes unique to the region.
Lovely beach with nice fine sand, my kids and I were good with out swim shoes. That being said, if you plan on coming to swim, check the level of the tide in advance. I, unfortunately did not, and at the lowest point of the designated swimming area the water only comes up about .1 - .2m making it virtually impossible to “swim”. At high tide it appears to be about 2m deep, however. They have chairs and umbrellas available to rent and it’s close to a spacious, free, parking lot.
Jacqueline H — Google review
Nice small public beach near the American village. The place is popular for bbq. There are toilets, showers (for 100yen)... Beach is clean. I woudn't spend there whole day but for 1-2 hours it is really nice and welcomed especially during the hot days. And you can watch the sunset here.;-)
Jan S — Google review
It’s really worth the time to visit here, today’s weather is over our expectation, wayyy too good, so that we stayed more than 3 hrs lol! Lucky us:) Water was more clear yesterday, still pretty!!
Time M — Google review
Some chairs are available for sunbathing at the beach. It's quite hot to walk along the beach even in May. The beach is very close to American Village and bathing facilities are available. You can enjoy park and beach time together in one day.
Lornice — Google review
Beautiful beaches, white sand, and happy, relaxed-looking people.
이승현 — Google review
Something for everyone. Relax, swim, beach sports and activities, rental access, free access, family fun, great food and shops, and spectacular sunsets.
Will S — Google review
I love this beach, except Annoying usa jet fighters are flying continuously over it very loudly all day long. I feel pity for Okinawa civilians. I could give this beach a 5-star if it was quiet. You can rent a beach chair and umbrella for 3000 yen. Toilet, shower and beverages are available. I will not visit this beach ever. Too loud to relax. These jet planes are really annoying.
午後 — Google review
It is located right next to the American Village. You just need to walk a little more. There is a place to play beach valley ball. Also, there was a barrier in the water where kids could play. There are a lot of hotels and restaurants nearby. Unfortunately, I like Araha Beach more than this one.

Araha Beach

Scenic spot
Araha Beach, located in Chatan Town, offers a picturesque coastline reminiscent of the western United States. The 600m-long artificial beach is ideal for various activities such as para-rings, banana boats, and glass-bottomed boat rides. While swimming is restricted to certain areas due to jellyfish nets, visitors can still enjoy the high transparency of the water.
Araha Beach is a fantastic spot for a relaxing day out! The beach is well-maintained, offering beautiful sandy shores and clear waters perfect for swimming or just soaking up the sun. The surrounding park area is equipped with convenient amenities, including picnic tables, playgrounds, and shaded areas, making it ideal for families and friends. There’s even a pirate ship playground that’s a big hit with kids! I loved the chill vibe and how it felt both lively and peaceful, especially during sunset when the sky turns into a canvas of vibrant colors. Parking is convenient, and there are plenty of nearby shops and food options to complete the day. Highly recommend visiting Araha Beach if you’re in Okinawa and looking for a spot to unwind by the ocean! 🌊🏖️
Elias ( — Google review
My family and I love this beach! We spend most of the summer there. Love the playground, the food that you can choose from. The parking isn’t the best or the most spacious but it’s a hit or miss sometimes. The pirate ship park is amazing and my kids love it. We always spend a good portion of the day here when we go out. It’s a great place to come and sit and enjoy the Oki vibes.
Gina L — Google review
Decent beach, the swimming area is small like many other beach in Okinawa but its really clean. The lifeguard also very friendly and helpful. The facilities are in decent condition, there’s showers that you can pay 100 yen for and also toilet.
Mute K — Google review
Nice beach for families. You can rent umbrellas, beach chairs, floating, etc. I like how they have a swimming area and there's so waves so my little kids were able to enjoy being in the ocean.
Effie M — Google review
Beach was not very nice (but I’m Filipino and have high expectations with beaches coming from the country with the best beaches in the world). There was a lifeguard though and a beach office. The toilet was clean too!
Hanna P — Google review
It can be a bit busy on payday weekends due to the heavy Miltary presence however, overall the vibe is very good not too rowdy families young locals, and American Miltary can all get along and have a good time at this beach. However, be advised that the swimming areas are knitted, and if you swim outside of the designated area, you will be warned by the lifeguards also generally speaking no snorkeling is allowed in the area at low tide. Divisibility can be quite murky and the water Sandy

My favorite beach in Okinawa they have great restaurants the sand is white and soft the water is super clear. People usually play volleyball and they got pull up bars

Depot Island is a vibrant and lively waterfront destination that boasts dozens of shops, restaurants, bars and a hotel. It offers an array of exciting events to keep visitors entertained. This complex is filled with colorful sights, and it provides a festive atmosphere for everyone to enjoy. The property is kept impeccably clean, and there are plenty of cabs available at all times for easy transportation.
This place has been the main destination in Chatan. The art deco buildings with vibrant colors are the trade mark of American village. Many shops, cafes, and restaurants around here.
Fonouvdior — Google review
That was just great experience. Visible american influence, climate and style. Hawaiian vibes - cool and chill ! Nothing but walk around and spend some Yen! Although used clothing stores are pretty expensive.
Agonya — Google review
People talk a lot about American Village which is apart of Depot Island area. We went for American Village and got distracted quickly by the beautiful views of the ocean and the colors of the buildings. There were so many cute hidden spots and little photo op areas. We spent at least 2 hours in the unbearable heat and humidity because we were so amazed. There’s a canal/river that runs perpendicular to the coast and it’s some of the clearest water I’ve ever seen. Many tourists on a Sunday so grabbing food was a bit more difficult than we anticipated. We managed to find a great Hawaiian brunch spot, Cafe 808, with reasonable prices! We spent the rest of our time walking around, window shopping, and watching the beach.
Nadia — Google review
Depot Island in American Village is a vibrant and charming destination that truly captures the spirit of Okinawa! The mix of colorful buildings, stylish boutiques, cozy cafes, and international restaurants makes it a perfect spot for shopping, dining, and just strolling around. The atmosphere is lively yet relaxed, especially in the evening when the lights come on and the area feels magical. It’s also just steps away from the beach, so you get beautiful ocean views too. Whether you're looking for souvenirs, great food, or a fun night out, Depot Island has it all. Definitely one of the must-visit spots in Chatan!
Valentin P — Google review
Beautiful place and there were a lot of shops. Most shop owners speak English. High priced tourist items but a beautiful view and area.
Rana M — Google review
Tacky old and run down. An overpriced tourist trap for the Americans to somewhat feel at home & for other tourists to pay over the odds for less than mediocre trinkets and gifts. However, a Decent view of the sea from the boardwalk.
Stevie S — Google review
Nice place to walk around even on a rainy day. Finding a parking space for your car can be tricky. Lots of stores and the Aeon Mall close by. Many restaursnts to choose from.
Eby F — Google review
Part of American Village with an abundance of restaurants and shopping. This building is located on the water and has an amazing feel; almost like a vacation every time you go. A great spot for photos as well.

Miyagi Coast

Mentioned on

Miyagi Coast, stretching from the Miyagi coast to Araha Beach, offers a bustling shoreline with scenic ocean-view walks and charming cafes. The west coast of Chatan Town resembles the coastal towns of the United States. During the day, it's popular for activities like SUPing and diving, while at dusk, visitors can enjoy breathtaking sunsets. The area is dotted with cafes, burger shops, and stylish restaurants.
The sunset from Miyagi Sea Walk was phenomenal! It’s a perfect spot to take a slow walk or go for a running. - Public toilets are available (free) - No parking so people just park on the side of the road - There are lots of bars, cafes and restaurants nearby
Little W — Google review
This place looks like a beach designed in minecraft. Another exhibit in Japan’s mission to encircle the entire country in concrete. Seems popular for surfing and diving. Not really a swimming place. The walkway above is nice for a walk or run. But there are better, more natural beaches in Okinawa if you are able to drive around.
Ann K — Google review
I'm not sure why this is referred to as "Miyagi Coast" this is the Sunabee Sea Wall. The walkway is approximately 12-15 foot wide, there are multiple concrete, open wall, roofed structures all along giving you a place to get out of the sun or rain. Excellent place to walk or job with a beautiful view of the ocean. Lots of small businesses all along. We went scuba diving the other day with Aloha Diving (highly recommend) and met at on of the covered stations. We've eaten at Bella Napolis a few times (also highly recommend) which is just one of the Excellent restaurants found here. If the weather is nice, forget about finding a parking spot on the wall. Low tide seems to be less crowded. Poor sea conditions (for snorkeling or suba) will be less corded as well. Beautiful place!
A ( — Google review
Beautiful sights but it gets hot and not much shade in the late morning.
Zachary A — Google review
Awesome place to go see a sunset. Very nice area to just walk around and watch the sunset or the waves or just be out and enjoy. Parking available close by. Some restaurants in the area too. Just a nice area to go relax from a long day of enjoying Okinawa.

Nature & Parks
Araha Park is an oceanfront park with a playground that has been designed to resemble pirate ships, complete with climbable features for children. The park is perfect for families with kids who enjoy playing on the beach. However, it can get crowded at times and not all children tend to wear masks despite the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. Cloudy days are recommended as there are fewer people around, though rain might occur.
Brilliant playground with zip line, fast long slides, climbing for all levels. There are a few seats situated by the playground and some families buy snacks and have a little picnic here which I thought was a nice idea. Restrooms located nearby and beach just across the footpath. If visiting American village, I recommend you take a nice stroll here, it is around 2km but a pleasant journey with a few nice photo spots.

Araha park is a seaside park in Okinawa. Came here while jogging around from Chatan. A pretty nice environment, with the beach, basketball court, children playing ground, and jogging track
Fonouvdior — Google review
Such a great park for the whole family. The big boat playground is a highlight. There are restrooms, a roped in beach, shade, drink stands. Parking can be a little tough
Liesa W — Google review
During my recent visit to Araha Beach Park with my girls, including my one-year-old daughter, I was delighted by the vibrant atmosphere and beautiful sunset. As the evening approached, the park was bustling with activity. People were out on the beach, relishing the coolness after a hot day. The basketball courts were packed, and kids were having a blast on the playground, their excitement palpable. It was wonderful to see so many people enjoying each other's company, whether they were walking, running, or simply relaxing by the water. My one-year-old daughter especially loved being out as the sun set, creating a perfect end to a lovely day. Araha Beach Park is definitely a fantastic spot for families and anyone looking to enjoy some outdoor fun and relaxation.
Earl J — Google review
one of the best beach in naha, unfortunately I can't give a 5 stars due to the noise pollution from the aircraft and jet fighter, besides that the beach is fantastic, near to convenience store 🏪 the play ground for kids is very nice too
Yipsi S — Google review
Great park located on the beach near American Village. The pirate ship is great and kept my toddler entertained. Easy beach access makes it simple to go back and forth.

I don’t even understand what was going on with the amazing sunset. Amazing environment to spend time with kids, with one of the best playgrounds

Very nice park, it's my halfway point on my morning run. The main attraction is the ship playground. Definitely built for kids, wish there would be something built like this for adults lol. The park also has covered benches for picnics, food and beverage vendors, vending machines. There is a beach with a designated swimming area, a place to play sports in the sand. There are also basketball courts and restaurants nearby.

Sunabe Beach

Scenic spot
Beach pavillion
Sunabe Beach is a serene coastal destination that offers a respite from the usual influx of tourists. Although relatively small, this picturesque beach boasts an abundance of coral formations, necessitating the use of water shoes. Despite the absence of lifeguards, showers, and toilets, it remains an attractive spot for beachgoers seeking tranquility. Local surfers can be spotted riding waves beyond the rocky outcrops while airplanes soar overhead.
Awesome beach. Park near by. Seawall ends at the beach.
Greg S — Google review
A beach without the tourists. It's small and has lots of coral, so you'll need water shoes, but it's gorgeous and you can go deep into the water. No life guards, showers, toilets, etc. There were loads of locals hitting the waves that were out past the rocks, and US planes flying overhead. When we went, there were only two other groups there, so it was quiet and relaxing.
Taleah — Google review
Absolutely beautiful. Not too crowded and you can actually find a lot of cool things like shells, coral bits, and several species of crab.
Fish — Google review
Good for snorkeling or walking. Parking can be tricky at certain hours.
Ana P — Google review
My favorite beach in the area. However NO lifeguard, NO bathrooms, NO nets. It's just a sandy area with stadium seating of paving stones. There's nice sand on the beach itself but be cautious that the first 5-10 feet of beach under the water is rocks/broken coral. Keep an eye out for lots of little crabs.
Brenna M — Google review

Restaurant
Chatan Harbour Brewery Restaurant is a unique spot that combines a brewery and seaside dining, offering a range of Okinawa's local craft beers. The restaurant features an industrial-chic setting with a deck providing stunning sunset views. Guests can enjoy Italian cuisine, steaks, and an array of fresh craft beers served directly from the on-site brewery. Visitors have praised the exceptional culinary experience, highlighting dishes such as calamari and lobster for their freshness and precise seasoning.
We visited this beautiful restaurant on the water for my birthday dinner and had a wonderful evening. Despite the dreary, rainy weather, the views were still amazing—watching the boats come and go added something special to the atmosphere. The ambiance was open, calm, and relaxing—perfect for a special occasion. We started with the Caesar salad, tuna and avocado poke, and calamari. Perfect apps to share. Everything was incredibly fresh and perfectly prepared. For our entrees, we ordered the steak and shrimp. The shrimp were definitely the star of the plate—juicy, flavorful, and perfectly cooked. The steak could’ve used a bit more seasoning, but overall, it was still a great dish. Our waiter was very attentive and professional, and every staff member we interacted with was kind and helpful. It made the entire experience even more enjoyable. We will definitely be back!
Jessica M — Google review
Overall, I thought the main course was delicious but the appetizers were not good at all. On top of that, the customer service was not good either. I don't think it's worth coming back. The only thing good about this place was the lasagna with meat sauce. Do not get the Harbor original Nachos. They might look good in the picture but the taste was awful and they were cold. I also asked for the dish without onions and the waitress said they could not do that because the onions were already mixed in with the meat, but when the nachos came out you could tell that the onions were just sprinkled on top. Very poor customer service, especially for the prices they charge.
Jaelah M — Google review
Nice atmosphere and room for groups. Best calamari I've ever had, very crispy! The steak was pretty standard Japanese steak, thin and fatty. The shrimp wasn't bad. The beer was pretty good and the IPA was gentle on the ABV, so more to my taste.
Kevin Y — Google review
Nice atmosphere with a little expensive pricing. Large variety of foods and drinks on the menu. Soup and salad doesn't come with a meal. The chicken and lasagna tasted good. The Staff is friendly but doesn't come by and check on you. You have to flag them down to order. To pay, bring the number on the table to the register. Overall: This restaurant should be visited on special occasions for locals. Prices are a little too high to visit regularly.

super good lobster and steak really great food. perfect beer. if the people stop dragging chairs and tables we can enjoy the time in peace . but still thank you

My husband and I went to celebrate our anniversary because a friend of ours had referred Chatan Harbor. We were so pleased from the moment we walked in. The decor was well put together and the ambiance was marvelous. They played a nice mix of jazz and r&b music. The host greeted us and sat us by the ocean view which we appreciated. The waitress was very prompt with taking our order and waited patiently being I didn’t quite know what I wanted because of the phenomenal selections. Being that I’m big on customer service I must say the waitress was excellent. She smiled the entire time and checked on us numerous of times. The Merlot wine was one of the best I’ve tasted in such a long time. We ordered appetizers as well, the fried calamari and shrimp with mushroom. For the entree my husband got the lamb chops that were succulent in every way and I proceeded with the grilled lobster dinner. If I could give this restaurant a 10 star I would. Everything we ordered tastes fresh and was very flavorful. We enjoyed our night and know for sure we would be back even if it’s just for appetizers and a glass of wine. They also have an open bar for those who don’t care to dine at tables. Making reservations I would suggest but we didn’t. This place can get really crowded. Our food came up to about $100 usd. Can’t beat that price anywhere in the states. I’m so happy we were referred to such beautiful restaurant.
Dikendra M — Google review
Im going to be completely honest here. The atmosphere is the best thing about this place… I originally went here for a wedding party. And their party courses were pretty good. Although when I went for dinner with my husband food was mediocre. My shrimp was mushy and my steak was nothing special. I would rather go to four seasons down the road… not the mention that the waiters are pretty useless. I think we saw our waitress one time and just had to flag random workers down to order anything other than our main course dishes. I would skip this place and go somewhere else. Not worth it. It’s pretty but that’s it.
Courtney R — Google review
Over all we had an excellent dining experience. For our appetizers we had crispy calamari and poke which were very good. The main courses were seafood platter, Mushroom risotto and rib eye steaks. The servers were very attentive. Just a great experience overall.

WaGyu Café Kapuka is a modern and airy venue with a terrace, offering a contemporary vibe and specializing in hearty beef dishes and mixed drinks. The restaurant provides an excellent dining experience, with quick service even during busy times. The food is presented beautifully, making it perfect for food enthusiasts who enjoy taking pictures of their meals. While reservations are recommended due to its popularity, the café accommodates walk-in guests when possible.
First time and definitely won’t be the last. Came here for group lunch as recommended by one of our coworkers and boy it did not disappoint. The food was delicious, we mostly ordered the huge salad portions with different proteins on it like salmon and chicken. The cilantro dressing is highly recommended, I asked for it on the side so I can control how much I want on mine. Not a lot of patrons during lunch and they also have outside seating. Did not have any room for desert but maybe next time. Highly recommended!

Food here was good but not the premium "wagyu" I was expecting. It had chewy pieces at the top that I had to spit out. Must be a different grade of sirloin steak on their wagyu cutlet menu compared to what I experienced earlier this week in Naha; or perhaps 'cutlet' means something different in the world of wagyu meat? However, the meal was still good because it was still tasty and came with a salad, soup, a bowl of rice, and a glass of wine, all for a fair price (JPY 5,800), so I can't really complain. The atmosphere here is very nice. Restaurant is clean with a nice view of the sea and sunset. Classy coastal vibe. The table was wobbly, so I put a coaster under the shorter leg since my wine was on the way and I didn't want to risk it spilling from an unstable table. You order from a tablet on your table so there really isn't any traditional "service" here to rate. Unfortunately, I will need to keep searching for a wagyu meat restaurant in Chatan that matches what I had in Naha earlier this week that was absolutely delicous and melted in my mouth like butter. Overall, the meal was good but it's unlikely I will return.

Food was a little on the pricey size but they were good. Nice atmosphere by the beach such a peaceful environment. You’ll have a good look of the fireworks every Saturday on this area. Parking was a little hard, the paking spot is too narrow.

Highly Recommended. One of my fave place in Okinawa. The restaurant ocean views is super beautiful, loved it.

Cute little place. I had the wagyu filet and it was so good and so were sides. The wine that came with the meal was also really good which was surprising. I struggled with finding good coffee or wine in this whole country. The dining area is large with plenty of seating spaces comfortably apart. We came later in the day so we missed that beautiful view. The staff was super sweet and any language barrier issues are solved with a tablet to manage the order from start to finish. I will totally eat here again. The prices were very affordable and the food was delicious. Probably favorite place to eat in Japan, so far.

Taste Overall 3.7/5 Variety 5/5 Pricing 4/5 Location 4.5/5 Presentation 5/5 Overall 4/5 All-in-all excellent restaurant/cafe. We went at 1200 (Sunday) and didn't have to wait for seating. You can sit indoors or outdoors; we sat right next to the water. As busy as it was, the food was served quickly. About a 10-15 minute wait for the food to arrive. When it comes to the presentation of the food, it was terrific. If you are a foodie and love taking pictures of food, this is the place to go. Everything you order from here will be aesthetically pleasing to look at and be tasty. Regarding the food taste, the steak I ordered was excellent (8.5/10), I wasn't a fan of the sauce, though, but the steak melted in my mouth. They give you options when choosing which sauce to put on the steak. The garlic shrimp was an 8/10 taste on point but just needed a bit more flavor. When it came to the French toast for dessert, it tasted more like American monkey bread. There was a caramel sauce on top, which made the French toast stick together and tasted plain 5/10. The mango Smoothie was by far the best smoothie I've had on this island 10/10. When it comes to prices, this place is highly reasonable for everything on the menu. The average cost was around ¥1,000-1,500 more expensive item was wagyu beef (still priced well). It's located in America Village right next to the charming water place, not directly in America Village but kind of on the outskirts of it. The only problem is parking is hard to find; there are 10-15 parking spots at the restaurant. So you may have to do a little walking to get there. One major plus is to order they have a tablet with multiple languages, not just English/Japanese but Chinese as well.

Hilton Okinawa Chatan Resort is a modern resort offering upscale accommodations with four dining options and bars, as well as indoor and outdoor pools, and a spa. Located in the vibrant area of Chatan, it serves as an ideal base for exploring popular destinations such as Naha, Yomitan, and the Onna Coast. The hotel is centrally located with easy access to a variety of shops and restaurants. The beach is very close and the pools available for use are great. The hotel also has a coin laundry, which is very handy if you're staying for a while or traveling lite. The staff is very friendly and helpful, and the food at the restaurant is very good. No better place to stay than this place.

Beautiful Hotel, friendly knowledgeable staff. Seen a lot of Military personnel walking around (very cool). Enjoyed the pool and even the fighter jets flying over head. Location was close to American Village. so plenty of food and drinks near by. but the hotel also has decent restaurants and buffet. I'm sad I missed the all you can eat grab legs

Solid 3 stars. Check in was frustrating. As a diamond member I didn't receive anything special. Booked Executive level. Be aware, they allow young children, babies, into the Exec Lounge during evening cocktail hour. Even when they cry, screech, etc., they do nothing to ask the guests to take the baby out. Ruins the ambiance of an evening cocktail hour gathering. Also, no room upgrade. Suite was available but upgrade was No, unless I pay more. I was already paying Yen 69,000 for one night. They seem to favor military guests. Room itself was good. Pool area excellent. Common areas, guest hallway carpet, lounge carpet, balcony dividers, all in very poor condition. I might stay again but def not at the Executive Club level.

Very close from American village and comfortable and tiny rooms are served. During stay, I was very satisfied. Outside pools are very good condition under the service. Our family has good service while staying. I hope to stay here once again in near future.

Beautiful resort in conveient location with great room and fantastic service. The buffet had a delectable spread with live stations. The swimming pools are not crowded and well maintained. There's a lawson just outside the hotel. American village is just next to the hotel. Highly recommended for stay in okinawa.

Transit Café is a charming seaside spot that offers a delightful escape with stunning ocean views. This breezy café serves an eclectic mix of international dishes, including mouthwatering pasta, delectable waffles, and the must-try cheese fondue. Perfect for a romantic date night or casual outing, it features inviting patio seating where you can soak in the beautiful scenery while enjoying their diverse drink menu filled with both alcoholic and non-alcoholic options.
The food and service was wonderful. You order via your phone with a QR code on the table. You can put in as many orders as you like. The view is beautiful. Lovely sunset.
Becky ( — Google review
Pretty great place! I really enjoyed the cheese fondue and they have an amazing poke bowl! The view is excellent and the atmosphere is pretty well thought out! The only thing that I’m not a huge fan of is their QR menus. They sometimes don’t load properly and it’s annoying to have to take out your phone to order. I understand maybe when they are busy. But when I’m the only one in the restaurant at 11am on a Wednesday… I feel it takes away from the experience. Lastly the hours! They are sometimes wrong! And it’s quite annoying to show up and have an establishment be closed when they say they are open. Overall if you catch them open it’s definitely worth all the quirks to try the food. I definitely will be coming back. But keep in mind it is less of a cheap eat. So prepare to drop a little extra $$ on your lunch. UPDATE After the restaurant reopened from construction they have taken away the QR codes!! In my personal opinion a great step in the right direction! They also posted a sign that hours will be shifting. (Hoping they stick to them because in the last two ish weeks I’ve shown up 3-4 times on times they were supposed to be open and they weren’t) The menu has changed! In some good and disappointing ways! They have much more options for the lunch menu although they took away the beloved poke which breaks my heart! Luckily the cheese fondue remains! Overall making steps in the right direction love to see the improvements to costumer service!

The place has a nice view of sunset. The food is fine but not so many selections. The seat outside is nice but it gets hot during summer!! You will need a portable fan if you want to enjoy the sunset view!! Otherwise, it is all good!! 6/29/25

The staff were professional, kind and respectful. We came close to last call and they allowed us to make a kitchen order which was kind. The upstairs level has a wonderful view of the wall and the ocean perfect to come during sunset and sit outside on the balcony. There were inside seating options as well with air conditioning. There is a restroom that was decorated nicely. I got the fish and chips it was delicious (a mix of fries and larger chunks of potatoes with a garlic oil seasoning) the chips portion was delicious. The fish was ok. Also got a Virginia pina colada it looked the same as an alcoholic drink. The churros were yummy for a sweet snack.

Ain’t what it usta be… Loved this restaurant a long time ago. It still has the spectacular sunsets (expect to only be offered outdoor seating at the “bar” if you aren’t a local - table with the best view seems to only be offered to locals that have/have no reservation), but the food isn’t like it used to be. The cheese fondue, Cobb salad, and mango smoothies were delicious. The grilled beef with garlic butter sauce was way too rare (even for my taste) and almost tasted like it was on the verge of going rancid. The cream brûlée was so burned it was inedible.
Former G — Google review
A great hideaway spot, but it overlooks the ocean... Would be incredible to watch sunsets here, aim sure. Indoor and outdoor seating; very cool vibe. Did I mention the staff? Always smiles, great service and very accommodating. I recommend you come here.
Chris K — Google review
Omg! I absolutely loved this! Found this place randomly on Google because I wanted to eat at a place near the seawall to watch the sunset and it was an absolute perfect choice. The food was delish and the drinks were really good. I had the shrimp spring rolls and they did not disappoint. The only thing that caught me off guard about the spring rolls is it had prosciutto in it which a no no for me so I picked it out. I had the passion fruit drink so tasty and the deco on the drink was so cute. I had the lobster and white for my entrée and yes yes yes it so seasoned and not overcooked at all. My friend had the salmon and Margherita pizza and I tried it and what cam say both were tasty as well. Oh forgot mention I ordered the garlic bread and it was way too crunchy for my liking. I would absolutely go back to this place and recommend it to others.

I was surprisingly delighted with the summer roll of shrimp with chili sauce. ACobb salad in a taco shell. The Cobb salad included fresh lettuce, broccoli, cherry tomatoes, sliced avocado, shrimp, three small pieces of crispy fried chicken, two slices of bell pepper, and a half slice of soft boiling egg. The grilled salmon was cooked perfectly, served on top mashed potatoes.

Guests can enjoy delicious dishes such as cream cheese and berries french toast, berry french toast, fish and chips, smoothies, coffee, iced chai tea, and matcha lattes. The menu also includes peanut butter french toast.
Had a great time, good and drinks came out very quickly. They were very nice and the place was super clean, even the bathroom. I got the chocolate and banana French toast with hot matcha latte and extra apple slices - loved it and would definitely order again. My boyfriend got the meaters set and hot matcha latte that he both adored (borrowed some of his scrambled eggs and loved them too.) The french toast was thick and fluffy while the outside was perfectly crisp. The fruit was super fresh and tasted so good. Matcha was high quality - very earthy and nutty, tasty. They do only take cash and there's no parking conjoined to the building but that's fine, the food and service well makes up for it.

Definitely get your moneys worth but be sure to take cash because they don’t accept card. The atmosphere is so friendly and warm. Food is very good, some of the best french toast i’ve ever had and I loved the caramel macchiato.

I got the cream cheese and berries set and it was delicious!!!! Probably the best french toast I've had. The set also comes with fruit and i thought it would be some frozen/canned fruit or something which would've been fine but it was actually a decently big piece of fresh pineapple which was a great surprise.
Anjali — Google review
I had a delicious breakfast at Seaside Terrace this morning. Based on other reviews, I ordered the stuffed french toast and it was wonderful & not too sweet. The bacon and eggs were also very tasty as well as the hash brown, although a bit crunchy. The caramel macchiato was mediocre but good. I arrived a few minutes before opening and was seated and served right away. The service was very friendly and quick, and they spoke good English for those who haven’t bothered to learn any Japanese. There’s exactly 1 parking spot, but the restaurant is directly across from the sea wall so convenient to drive and find a spot and walk in. Yen only!
Brianna R — Google review
Okay, they have no business being this good! The drinks, the food, the service all immaculate. The only downside is the parking and it’s cash only. Yen or usd. But it’s so worth pulling some cash out for. There’s an atm around the corner at the post office. It was only 2,400 yen for all this food and a caramel macchiato that blew my mind!
Quinn L — Google review
This beautiful little cafe has got THE BEST French toast I've ever tasted! They limit parties to 4 people or less, as it's run by a husband and wife. The service was phenomenal, of course and the ambiance was really lovely. We will be making it a point to come here often. I highly recommend this lovely place!

Nice beachfront cafe serving fluffy pancakes and aromatic coffee at the American village. They have both terrace and indoor seating. Definitely choose terrace seating if the weather is cool to get an amazing view of the beach. An ideal location to chill and relax.

A little pricey for breakfast but it was delicious and had a beautiful overlook over the ocean. Highly recommend sitting outside on the terrace if you visit. I had the pancakes with eggs, bacon, and a salad. The eggs, bacon, and salad were good and the pancakes were super fluffy and had a super soft bite to it. I also had the large caramel macchiato and it was good! I recommend getting regular size though because when you get large it comes out in a huge cup. Couldn't finish all the coffee ☕. And finally the desert was delicious!! I would give an overall rating of 7.5/10 and would return on a warm but cool clear skies morning! (Tends to get busy so recommend getting their early!!)
Zachary C — Google review
These are not soufflé pancakes (jiggly). They are very dense kinda chalky, flavorless pancakes. Luckily the topping very tasty. Eaten all together they are ok, but you can still taste and feel the non-sweet batter of the pancakes……tastes like baking soda. Definitely not worth the hour wait to get in and the almost hour to get food. The cappuccino was really good though and had cute art. We were seated by the kitchen window and the staff put all the pancakes on the plates by hand without gloves. Sometimes moving them from a plate to a different plate to fill an earlier order. Don’t think we will come again.
Oki_Dingo — Google review
The food was fantastic and the home-made lemonade was delicious but I had to wait 35 mins to get in and AN HOUR to get my food. It's worth to try if the total waiting time is less than 30 mins but not this long. The server and the owner were very kind and nice. Also, there is no changing table for babies so it is hard if you are taking a baby who needs a diaper change.

The food, especially the pancakes, we're amazing! Really didn't know what to expect of thick fluffy pancakes but it was delightful! My husband got the eggs Benedict and oh my, those eggs were the best we've ever tasted, cooked to perfection! Definitely will be going back! Only downside was the one hour wait to get a seat! So bring some time, it's a popular spot but well worth your time!

A cute little coffee shop with a very nice atmosphere and good aircon with nice, friendly service. Clean toilet and washroom on-site, but no bidet. Unfortunately, I found the coffee to be just average, at best, but maybe because I wasn't a fan of their soy milk. It seemed very thin to me. Loses a star because they are cash only and do not accept credit card payments in the year 2025?!

Third service is excellent, they make you feel welcome as soon as you walk-in. The staff speaks good English and it's easy to order. You have to pay cash only so bring your 💴 Yens. The atmosphere of the place is very coffee shop with nice acoustic music playing at the right volume. Their bagels sandwich is super good. They have limited seating and most of the chairs are for two people. Their bathroom is very clean. They have toddlers/ infant chairs available.

This seems to be the go to place where people asks me to meet them. It's really close to kadena air base, just outside gate 1. I've been slowly exploring the menu as I go. I did a smoothie the first time which was interesting. It had an extra flavor that I couldn't pin point. 4 stars The second time I did the Elvis sandwich 5 stars. It's not cheap, but it's indulgent. This time I did the pancake breakfast. 4 stars. Pretty standard fare. Mine was with the bacon (choice was that or spam) You are not supposed to park on the street. You can get ticketed. The owner/workers will redirect you if you try to park in front of the building. They are doing it so you don't get ticketed. They have some spots you can park on the side. It is slightly annoying though since if someone needs to get out you'll need to move your car, but it's better than getting a ticket . I've only paid by yen here so unsure if they take card or not.

My wife and I decided to try the French toast combo along with a coconut cream latte and caramel latte while my kids tried the pancake combo. We thoroughly enjoyed the cozy atmosphere and the food. The pancakes were super fluffy and French toast was more than enough to get full from. Great brunch spot! Not many options, but what they do have is perfect for a weekend brunch. One thing I will say is that the restaurant was extremely hot. They have A/C, but I'm not sure if it was on or not. Either way, it was uncomfortable. Other than the temperature, the atmosphere was nice. It looks like the restaurant used to be a home, so there are separate rooms that are perfect for groups.

Excellent Breakfast and fantastic coffee. I had an amazing experience at this Aussie breakfast spot, which I regret not discovering earlier. The avocados were perfectly seasoned with just the right amount of salt and pepper, the fried eggs were well-cooked with a satisfying runny consistency, and the bread/toast was hearty and delicious. The bacon was thick and flavorful, leaving me craving for more. While parking may be limited, finding street parking during the week is relatively easy. We visited on a Monday mid-morning and were able to secure a seat with only a brief 5-minute wait. Despite the small menu, the dishes were of exceptional quality and utterly delicious.

If you're on the hunt for a quintessential American dining experience, look no further than "American Kitchen." This charming eatery embodies the spirit of a classic breakfast spot with its diverse and reasonably priced menu. The fluffy pancakes paired with an ample jar of maple syrup are a must-try, while the eggs Benedict, featuring thick bacon, bursts with flavor. Beyond breakfast delights like chicken and burgers, their garlic bread is also noteworthy. Families will appreciate kid-friendly options like onion soup.
Very nice small restaurant, evokes a feeling of a Midwest diner back home in Indiana. Free parking outside the restaurant is nice as you don't have to deal with hunting for a spot or paying in another lot. Staff are very kind and aware of when people are ready to order, the kitchen is open air in the center of the restaurant so you can actually see the cook at work, and smell all the very great food being made. The food itself is spectacular, I got a chicken parm which was very generously portioned, along with delicious onion soup, white rice, and a garden salad. My friend got hamburg steak and imperial chicken, again generously portioned and crafted perfectly. Absolutely a restaurant worth its price and repeated visits, I love this place.

Not bad. It’s very hot with almost no ventilation. I sat at the stools but wasn’t a fan of the pots and pans being right In my face (adding heat). I had pancakes American sausage and eggs. Everything was honestly just normal. Nothing special. Will go back to try the burgers

Lives up to its name — "American Kitchen"! This spot really captures the feel of a classic American breakfast joint. The menu is diverse and fairly priced. The pancakes and eggs Benedict stood out as the stars — both are dishes I’d definitely come back for. The pancakes were perfectly fluffy without being overly airy, and they came with a full jar of maple syrup — a rare and appreciated touch. The eggs Benedict featured a thick slice of bacon and were packed with flavor. Another great perk: unlimited refills of coffee or iced tea with your meal. However, there were a couple of downsides. Unfortunately, they don’t allow any drink substitutions. For example, if you prefer apple juice over the included drinks, you can’t just pay the difference — you’ll need to order it separately at full price. It’s a small thing, but considering their other drinks are relatively pricey, it felt a bit rigid. Also worth noting: they charge for takeout boxes, and we only found out at the register. When I noticed a few unfamiliar charges on the bill and asked about them, I was told they were for the boxes — something they never mentioned when we requested them. That lack of transparency definitely left a sour note on an otherwise enjoyable visit.

I see people are giving this place pity points but… it was not good. If you like 88 steak go there instead. If you do go and choose a pie, they’re not great but the blueberry is the better of the choices, the cheese one is just pie shaped bread. The staff was nice but beyond that would not go back. Some of the dishes were sticky and dirty and most of the employees are elderly women. They’re nice, but I’m sure they lack the precision do the work properly. EDIT WE GOT FOOD POISONING FROM HERE.

Not a bad place. Trying for the old 1950s diner and can see it. Imperial chicken good, pancakes a little dry but not bad at all. Definitely recommend getting the thick bacon if you get pancakes.

My jerk chicken salad was so good! The spices they use on the chicken make it really flavorful and the homemade dressing was super delicious. My husband and I will be coming back again.

The chicken, burgers, steak, and garlic bread are all great. My kids like the onion soup. Although they close at 9, if you get there 2 minutes past 8:00, they won't let you in. That's a bummer because I'm usually in and out of there in 35 minutes or less. But I guess their hours are their hours, so I won't hold it against them. I recently went there for breakfast, and the pancakes were the worst that I've had on the island. Hard to understand because the hotcakes at other locations are pretty good, but I must remove a star.

Shop with great selection of coffee beans ranging from floral to nutty and everything in between! Upon entering the shop you will find many pots of brewed coffee so you can try before you buy. The girl in the shop was very nice and eager and offered us glasses right away for us to try. When you buy 200g of beans they also give you a free drink, the drink is already ¥600-¥650 so the 200g of beans will end up costing you only ¥1200 or so which is a great deal. I got a rich latte for my free drink and the milk was rich and the aftertaste of the coffee was strong. Highly recommend for coffee beans!

Delicious drinks, especially the Giciru latte!! Loved it so much I had to take a picture of the composition to try and find an equivalent when I’m back home

The giciru soda is so good. My sister ordered it and I wish I had too. I got the passion fruit kombucha which was delicious but gosh the giciru soda really fit my palate.

Naha Airport in Okinawa, Japan, is a solid airport with modern and functional facilities. Naha Airport is near the city center, making it easily accessible by public transportation like the Yui Rail. The airport offers a range of amenities, including restaurants, cafes, shops, and lounges on the 3rd and 4th floors. The airport's location on the coast provides beautiful ocean views, especially at sunset. Naha Airport is a pleasant enough place to start or end your Okinawan adventure. While it may not offer the extensive amenities of larger airports, its convenient location and scenic views make up for its limitations. With some planning and patience, travelers can navigate the airport's quirks and enjoy their trip.

Okinawa Naha Airport. An airport which serves both domestic and international flights. It is well served by the monorail which allows travellers who had landed at the airport to travel to city area seamlessly. There are many shops and F&B located at the level 2 of the airport, but mostly on the domestic terminal public area. Furthermore, after passing the immigration centre, there are 2 cafes available for passengers before boarding the international flights. Plus, there are viewing areas at level 3 & level 4 of the terminal for the public to have a bird eye view of planes taking off and landing.

Easy to navigate around the terminal on arrival. Staff at the taxi stand were great and spoke enough English to be able to communicate with.

Nice airport. Lawson right outside of luggage pickup. Connecting footbridge to railway. Convenient enough to get to the nearest town without hiring a car. And it’s only ¥320.

I was sitting in the international departure area and had the meal at Ramen Takoyaki. It was very usual that returning the tray once after finishing the meals. The moment I returned the tray to the areas of returned trays, that old Japanese grandma staff was mad at me and instantly pulled a face. I didn't do anything wrong. I have been to many airports. This is the worst customer service I have ever been received. Is it because I'm not japanese, you can treat customers badly and rudely.

I don't think I'm an unreasonable person. I've been to many countries, including many cities in Japan, but I'm very disappointed with Naha Airport! I arrived at the airport a long time early today. When the check-in was open, I saw the screen showing that my check-in counter was at window B. We lined up to check in. When we arrived, the other party was an intern, a young man with glasses. He said that my check-in counter was in window C and looked at my flight ticket. Although I was confused, I still confirmed whether he was in C. After getting a positive answer, I went to the C counter to queue up. It was hard for me. The teller at the C counter said that my check-in was in B. At this time, it had delayed me for almost an hour. I told the other party in English that I knew my information. After repeated confirmation, the B counter asked me to go to C. Finally, their manager pulled me to the B counter and handed me over to another stinky-faced female manager. She listened to me tell me about the incident as if it were our fault. There was no apology in the whole process, let alone an apology. On the contrary, we were like the unreasonable person, which made me very uncomfortable. And I will consider complaining to them by email.
