Nestled in the heart of New Westminster, Irving House Historic Centre is a delightful portal to the past. This charming Victorian-era home, originally built in 1865 and once belonging to Captain William Irving, showcases 14 beautifully furnished rooms that reflect the colonial style of its time. As you wander through this historic gem, you'll be enchanted by the preserved decor and artifacts that tell tales of early 19th-century life for affluent families.
It was great seeing a house so well preserved in its time period and as it was being decorated for Christmas. The tour and info was fantastic. I would add more pictures but I don't want to spoil it, a visit in person is well worth the time.
Wallace K — Google review
Such a wonderful historic experience. The tour guides were knowledgeable, and ready and willing to answer questions. We thoroughly enjoyed visiting Irving House, a step into the past.
Shawntel L — Google review
I went there today with my kids. It was like a time travel, how wonderful life was! Very amazing guide tried her best to describe all the detail.
Atika C — Google review
I recently had the pleasure of visiting Irving House, and it was a truly enjoyable experience. The historic home is beautifully preserved, offering a fascinating glimpse into life in the late 1800s. Walking through the rooms felt like stepping back in time, with authentic furnishings and intricate details that tell the story of the Irving family and the era they lived in. Our guide was exceptionally knowledgeable, sharing rich historical facts, personal stories, and insights that brought the house and its history to life. His passion for the subject made the tour engaging from start to finish, and I left with a much deeper appreciation for this important piece of local heritage. I highly recommend a visit to Irving House for anyone interested in history, architecture, or simply enjoying a well told story in a beautiful setting.
Salah A — Google review
An old mansion once belonging to an aristocratic family, full of stories and history 😆. The curator, Robin, is such a dedicated and professional gentleman — he told us in detail about the family who owned the house and shared parts of Canadian history. The furnishings inside are stunning and exquisitely crafted. It was a truly wonderful and educational journey through time!
Beryl L — Google review
If you are into heritage houses and history, this is the place for you. I donated $2 so it was affordable to visit. I like how the tour guides shared the history of the house. It was well kept. Only downside is that it is only open on weekends. Definitely recommended!
Celina A — Google review
I found this site using ChatGPT when I asked for interesting sites that is less traveled. I'm really happy I saw it. The volunteer guides are amazing and give a really in-depth account of what life was for the Irving family. It was also really great to be in a house that is completely intact and older than Canada itself. It's a free visit, but will accept donations to help with the upkeep. It is well worth the time to see.

Nature & Parks
Westminster Pier Park is a waterfront park in New Westminster that offers a variety of activities for visitors. It features playgrounds, sports facilities, and a boardwalk with scenic views of the Fraser River. Families can enjoy picnic shelters, barbecues, a rose garden, free performances at the bandshell, and a petting farm. The park also has playground leaders who offer crafts and activities for kids during the summer.
This park is a fantastic place to visit, offering both scenic views and meaningful architecture. You can enjoy stunning sights of the bridge and Fraser River, making it a great spot for photography. The playground is a highlight, with a large slide that kids absolutely love. It's a perfect blend of natural beauty and fun activities for the whole family!
Maxwell W — Google review
We came here once in March. It was a good experience. This time we had a car. We found that there was no free parking nearby, and there was no free parking on the nearby streets. The park is beautiful, but all kinds of people come here. Later, three policemen came here to check for suspicious people.
Laurence M — Google review
I recently experienced the vibrant atmosphere of New Westminster Pier Park, and it was fantastic! The park hosted a free music show that brought the place to life. Families gathered, and children played on the grassy area while enjoying the tunes. The presence of food trucks and a snack shop offered a variety of delicious treats to satisfy any craving. What I loved most was the opportunity to chill out by the sea, feeling the cool breeze and admiring the panoramic views. It's a perfect spot to relax, enjoy live music, and create lasting memories in a beautiful waterfront setting.
Tommy C — Google review
Overall a decent park. On google maps it appears bigger than it actually is, haha. This park is lowkey, away from the bigger streets like Colombia st and greenway. Many spots to hangout, sit, and overall lots of open space. Good view of the ocean and pattulo bridge. They also have restrooms for convenience, and a little pier shack which likely opens in summer!
Cole D — Google review
Westminster Pier Park is a fantastic place to spend quality time with your family and enjoy a game of basketball. The park is well-maintained, and the facilities are in excellent condition. The basketball court is a great attraction for those who enjoy playing the sport, and there is plenty of space for everyone to participate. The park also has ample parking, making it convenient for visitors to park their vehicles. However, it should be noted that parking is not free and may be a minor inconvenience for some visitors. Overall, Westminster Pier Park is a must-visit for families and sports enthusiasts. The park provides a fun, safe, and enjoyable environment for people of all ages to enjoy. If you are looking for a place to spend quality time with your loved ones, Westminster Pier Park is an excellent choice.
Salar S — Google review
Beautiful, well-maintained, long path to walk on at the New Westminster waterfront. Accessible from both New Westminster and Columbia skytrain stations. There are lots of seating, beautiful flowers, and shops along the path. There are some shade from the trees. Perfect place to bring your family or a loved one.
May Z — Google review
Lots to enjoy for all ages on this scenic river esplanade.I really enjoyed the historical pictures installation. The brief explanation gives you a sense of living back in the old days! The river district is in full construction mode with development on the edge of the shoreline. The kids area is a complete fun world of everything they could want.
Patrick C — Google review
Very nice Pier for an afternoon/evening walk, there washroom in the small shop in the entrance, clean and small playground kids area for fun. People do picnics and there is a lot of greenery and benches to grab a spot with your companion. I am new to the area so will definitely visit again soon. Dog-friendly for sure.

History Museums
The New Westminster Museum is a compact yet fascinating exhibit showcasing local relics, archives, images and transportation. It offers visitors the chance to learn about the area's history while enjoying a serene atmosphere as admission is by donation and the museum tends to be quiet. One can browse through everything on display in an hour or less making it an ideal rainy day excursion.
This city in New West has a more legendary history than Vancouver. As the first port, its lacrosse and fire department are equally famous. Here you can also see the history of immigrants' struggles here, how to bring their own culture and take root in this land.
Laurence M — Google review
What an amazing place. I have been there multiple times and each time it gets better and better. Can’t wait for my next trip. The main curator is a wealth of knowledge and history. A great storyteller that educates me in so much depth and detail that he makes the place come alive. Rob is a true master at creating an all inclusive environment that makes you want to learn more.
Ernie C — Google review
A wonderful place to take in some BC history with the place entirely to yourself free of charge :)
Dan D — Google review
The New Westminster Museum is a place you want to return to. The history of the city from the beginning to the present day is shown. From what is presented you will learn how the city developed and what life was like. Construction achievements and sports victories. Stories about brave firefighters and police officers. Even the door of the local university has been preserved! You can get acquainted with the paintings of local artists whose paintings are exhibited nearby. A wonderful place with free entry and comfortable places to relax.
Свят М — Google review
Visit this museum. It's very interesting, and IT'S FREE!. You will learn about New Westminster history in general, including the indigenous people who inhabited and own this land. There is also an exhibit dedicated to lacrosse history.
Hugo L — Google review
I went to this museum while I was in Douglas, it’s next to the Anvil centre. One of the best places to visit in New Westminster. If you are interested in the New West history, New Westminster museum should be one of your choices. It was quite on Wednesday.
Parsa S — Google review
A free museum in the Anvil Centre, if you're already here to see the New Media Gallery or the Canadian Lacrosse Hall of Fame, check it out. The exhibits include memorabilia, artifacts, newspaper reprints and even a 1926 Ford Model T and a New Westminster Police motorcycle. Interesting history of a part of the world that is new to me so it was interesting to learn a microcosm of Canadian history here as New Westminster grew from before its earliest settlement to the city it is today. Of course, no Canadian museum is complete without an acknowledgement of the impact of colonialism and New Westminster's exhibits include statements and context that recognize it. There is a display of First Peoples artifacts and history.
Bruce K — Google review
In depth history about the city of New Westminster. Quite a number of artifacts regarding the city's history. It was very quiet on weekday morning.

First time visit and it’s a very interesting place for children. They have different exhibits and a small movie theatre. You can enjoy a short video. The children liked it very much.

Board game was fun for my 10 years daughter.
Ellie K — Google review
Great staff, always same exhibits. Very informative. Rotating activities program. Highly recommend having a family visit
Rob S — Google review
My child is under 3, so she was free, and I paid $6. We spent a good hour and half exploring the activities. You have to make your own fun here, it is very much a self guided tour which we love. The dress up and tugboat downstairs is where we spent most of our time.
Nicol P — Google review
The Museum telling us the history of Fraser River. Which is located in the nice location with great view. The market is next to it, after visiting, you could walk around there. The facilities are a bit too old and there are too little activity to play with.
Cadeau C — Google review
Fraser River Discovery Centre is a cool spot for outdoor fun mixed with learning. Situated by the Fraser River, it's got awesome views and interesting exhibits about the river's history. You can enjoy the outdoors on riverfront paths and decks while checking out cool stuff. Whether you're into river history or just want a nice riverside walk, Fraser River Discovery Centre is a chill place for outdoor adventures and learning new things.

New Westminster Quay

Shopping mall
New Westminster Quay, located by the Fraser River, offers a perfect setting for a leisurely day out. The boardwalk provides stunning views of passing boats and the city's skyline. It stretches from near the Patullo Bridge to Waterfront Esplanade Park and is adorned with informative captions about local history and geology. Visitors can also relax in hammocks scattered throughout the area or simply bask in the sun.
This is one of my favorite spots to visit during spring and summer to enjoy a beautiful variety of flowers in full bloom. The waterfront area is well-maintained, offering a clean and scenic place to relax and unwind. It’s also very convenient to get to, located just a short walk from the New Westminster SkyTrain Station. A great place for a leisurely stroll or to simply soak in the natural beauty!
Roger V — Google review
Here at the Quay, you can still see Fraser River as a single entity. If you look west, you could see the river splitting into north and south arm. From the Quay, you can walk westward along Waterfront Esplanade and Park almost to the point of the split. Along the way, there are posters with information about Fraser River, its past and present, its biology, etc. At the Quay, there are quite a few shops and cafés/eateries. New Westminster Quay can be reached from downtown Vancouver by Skytrain in about 25 minutes. Disembark at New Westminster station, take the 8th street down and over the overpass into the Quay. If you drive, there is some paid parking right around the Quey. Otherwise, one block north of Columbia Street around 4th street, there is 2h free parking. From there, it is just a few hundred meters to the Quay.
Jan M — Google review
Great place to walk around during sunset in warmer days. It's just there's nothing really, just houses and the river. There's a water taxi that can take you to Queensborough. For walks, it's nice.
Shierly Y — Google review
Very impressed with how much the city has invested in beautifying the quay/boardwalk. Every few steps is Instagrammable. If you're looking for a place to go for a leisurely walk, look no further than the NW Quay. It also helps that the quay is easily accessible by public transit, bicycle and car. There is also a well equipped playground for smaller kids to burn pent up energy. Truly a family oriented park for all ages.
Christopher G — Google review
Limited pay parking near the hotel and frequent compliance checking staff patrolling. The market was very limited compared to before that there were only a few businesses open. Two cafe's and an Indian restaurant downstairs, a grocery store and a few gift stores open, very few visitors compared to before. Very quiet upstairs. A few dog owners were out exercising along the walkway. Maybe more visitors when weather gets warmer and no more constructions around the quay. Not worth the parking fee just to visit this quay, you better off visiting Granville Island Market with far more stores and street performers!
Sam C — Google review
The city always make this place very nice, pretty and clean. Some people though destroy it by stealing plants esp succulents, some leave their garbage around when there are garbage cans everywhere. Some people take up space in some sheds and claim them their homes.
Princess L — Google review
It's a lovely spot for a bite, or to browse games. I really enjoy the pinball machine and city market.
Hiro T — Google review
Serendipity is the word that came to my mind. And the fish and chips in a restaurant nearby added richness. Please let's preserve it.

Points of Interest & Landmarks
River Market is a vibrant waterfront retail complex offering an array of diverse boutiques, trendy eateries, and activities for kids. The food hall provides a casual atmosphere with various dining choices and amenities for families such as high chairs and a kids' play area. Visitors can enjoy leisurely strolls along the waterfront, taking in picturesque pier views before immersing themselves in the local experience at River Market.
This is a good area for a cup of coffee, support some local business, grocery shopping and a little walk in the boardwalk along the Fraser River. There are many good restaurants in this area. I am sure you will find one that you like. Such as Craft Cafe, Angelina's Dutch Corner, The Boathouse, Re Up BBQ Bar, Longtail Kitchen and the food court. Almost all the restaurants have nice river view. The only down side is you have to pay parking for your stay. It costs about $3.58 per hour. There are lots of underground parking and close to the Market and restaurants. You can use public transit getting there. It takes a few minutes walk from the New Westminster Station. It was free parking long time ago. There are lots of high rises in the area now but it will not block the view from the Market.
Wah Y — Google review
A perfect spot for a relaxing walk with beautiful river views! River Market is such a gem in New West. Whether you're grabbing a coffee or just out for a stroll, the walkway along the Fraser River is peaceful, scenic, and full of charm. The boardwalk offers amazing views, and there's something calming about watching the tugboats and water taxis go by. Plenty of benches to sit and relax, and the market itself has a great mix of local eats and little shops. It’s a great place for families, couples, or anyone who just wants to slow down and enjoy the waterfront vibe. Highly recommend a visit — especially around sunset!
Jag B — Google review
Walking through the River Market was interesting. It was not as exciting as the other places I have checked in Vancouver and none of the places really grasped my attention. However, I do like to go to that Angelina's Dutch restaurant the next time I come here. The place does have a good sight of the river from the upper balcony and stairs.
James M — Google review
Nice market with a artsy eclectic boutique middle class vibe. Free WIFI, variety of food f drinks. Outdoor seating too and right near beside the water seawall. I come here whenever I’m in new west, or passing through on the skytrain sometimes, it’s excellent for people watching and inspiration. There is even cheap entertainment with a couple pinball and arcade games on the upper floor. Within walking distance of the skytrain even. It’s an important part of downtown New Westminster.
David — Google review
They have a wide variety of menu items, Nice ocean view. There was only one staff member, but everything was prepared quickly.
Dooyi K — Google review
Nice water front area hosting a variety of eatries, grocery shop, kids entertainment, book shop etc. Overall a nice place to spend time with a walk in the picturesque riverside trail. Presently construction work is underway which restricts the movement slightly. Visit here with family and friends to have a good time.
S K — Google review
Highly acceptable in terms of wide assortment of food items - fruits, fruit juice, soft drinks, pizza, cheese, cakes, food-desert-items, other edible & food preparation items and the like, River Market, being placed on bank of Frajer river, offers many agricultural items - fruits, vegetables & related items with fresh status & in good prices - that reflects attraction to the buyers - nature lovers - who visit here & get associated with the river, it's wide expanse of water, boats & ships moving through water, gentle breeze, warm weather, summer-being-tolerably-heated in a less humid weather, walking trail alongside flowery plants & greeneries alongside river water, flyong birds over head & water - amazingly hypnotizing view.
Sajedur R — Google review
Has improved so much. Now have 3 wonderful game books and toys shops, many more food options. There's a good large grocery market. And the whole area around is nice for a walk along the river. Very nice artsy mall for chocolate, soaps, oils and regular stuff. On the water front so nice stop in while strolling along.

Anvil Centre is a versatile space situated in the vibrant cultural center of New Westminster. It serves as a gathering place for local artists and offers a range of artistic and theatrical experiences. The building features modern architecture, with clean and spacious conference rooms suitable for various events. Visitors can explore the New Media Gallery on the second floor, showcasing rotating art installations and exhibits that provide unique insights into different artistic expressions.
Nice art gallery, museum, and conference center in one building. If visiting, approach the visitors center, very friendly staff. They have art exhibitions, the museum is quite interesting and it's free, and run programs for yoga lessons and others. Highly recommended
Hugo L — Google review
This is a nice space :) there are big, open areas, that would be fantastic for various events. Through no fault of Anvil Centre, though, the area around the building is not the safest - there are groups of people, directly adjacent, openly doing drugs in the street. It may be because of Anvil Centre's close proximity to the skytrain.
Edith W — Google review
A very great place to visit. There is a museum, free admission about New Westminster history and other event exhibitions.
Natha K — Google review
Anvil Centre is one of those multi-purpose spots that actually pulls it off. Whether you're there for a museum visit, a dance class, or a community event, the space feels modern and well-organized. The New Media Gallery and the Canadian Lacrosse Hall of Fame are tucked inside, which adds a nice cultural touch. Staff are friendly, and the building itself is clean and accessible. That said, it can feel a bit corporate at times—more like a conference centre than a cozy community hub. Some of the exhibits are hit-or-miss depending on when you go, and parking in downtown New Westminster isn’t always smooth. Still, if you’re pairing it with a walk along the waterfront or popping in for a workshop, it’s a solid choice. Great for locals and curious visitors alike.
Haniyeh G — Google review
Amazing theatre, well designed, awesome acoustics. Great place for tables on the 3rd floor, for about 12 exhibitors with modest tables. Great location for food / coffee breaks!
Nestor B — Google review
Excellent venue space for small events. Easy to find and right across the street from skytrain. Underground parking available, but closes at 11pm.
K S — Google review
I always drove by Anvil Centre but this was my first time to come here in person for a company event. Anvil Centre is a luxurious building in the heart of New Westminster. It is close to skytrain station and bus stop. The building also has an underground parking and parking there is not expensive. The place is clean and has security guards to look after the building. The conference room is clean and spacious that we could have more than twenty tables and each table had 8 seats. The service was above average. We had a three course meal. The food was average. I came here for a company event at night, so I didn't get a chance to visit the gallery. I would like to come back and explore more here one day.

Great convention, lots of vendors, kids love it... lots of great vintage games.. they did a great job. Lots of events for both new and old generations...

Queens Park Rose Garden is a hidden gem in New Westminster! 🌹 The park’s blend of history, beauty, and tranquility is truly magical. The variety of roses and well-maintained grounds make it a perfect spot for a peaceful walk or a family outing. I visited with my granny, and we both enjoyed every moment, especially the breathtaking blooms. Highly recommend this park for anyone who loves nature and a serene atmosphere!"
Anna R — Google review
Beautiful park, my Mom loves flowers and it was a pleasure to take her there. High five to people who take care of plans and flowers in this park, you are doing an amazing job! Also, I loved the spray park because there's an area for little children and it's kind of separated from an area for bigger kids, so both age groups can play safely and enjoy their time there. Big picnic area, lots of shade for hot days, washrooms available both inside the arena and near the playground. The concession had good food for reasonable prices. Lots of parking. Will be coming to this park often!
Kate P — Google review
The biggest park is in the New Westminster city. It has several parking lots. It is a wonderful place for you to have a jog, walking with your dog, taking a morning run as well as just leisurely walking around. Some areas are fensed up for rehabilitation, so please be noted not to walk into those places. There are different gardens for the plants. you may enjoy the scenery as well as some places for you to play baseball tennis and various sports.
Luke L — Google review
The gardens here are so lovely. The rose garden is a delightful Oasis & a joyous place where weddings sometimes happen. I read a bit about the history of the park, the landscaper of the time, had trees & plants sent on a boat from France! Our family has had many picnics in the park, so many spots to set up. The covered picnic areas can be booked through the City of New Westminster. If you visit, don't miss seeing the train, rose gardens & the trails through the wood. There used to be a petting zoo but sadly, it closed a few years ago.
Heather H — Google review
Great park to do almost every thing here. The cherry blossom tree at the parking lot by the arena are so beautiful and they usually reach the full bloom around mid April. And between the parking lot and the rainbow playground, a small rose garden is hidden at the back which could also be a good spot to take pictures, and sometimes weddings ceremonies are held in this rose garden.
Sophie W — Google review
I absolutely love this park. It's a gem in the middle of the city, filled with nature, recreational spaces and beauty. A plece where you can go and relax in a bench for hours, read, clear your mind, have a bbq. Play soccer, basketball, tennis, baseball, run, walk, hockey. Your kids can play with the water fountains....what not? The surrounding areas are beautiful as well and this park makes everything even more impressive
Eduardo G — Google review
Outstanding oasis that has everything for everyone, including natural beauty. Take a break, and have a leisurely walk through or play on of about 10 different sports offered throughout the facilities inside the park. Recommended!

Hume Park is a charming and well-equipped community park that offers a variety of amenities for visitors. The park features open green spaces, playing fields, a dog run, an upgraded water spray park, and an outdoor pool. Families can enjoy the playground, tennis courts, walking trails, and picnic areas throughout the year.
Great place for kids, ok number of park spots, you can park in some different streets within walking distance. The water park is cool for kids, and the water is super cold(as usual in all water parks in BC). The kids park is cool too, there is a dog area, just be aware some people leave the dog off leash out of the dogs, so pay attention to it.

Hume Park is a huge, lovely park, you can spend all day there, Swimming enjoying a Spraying Park for kids. It has a picnic area where you can choose a view park or inside the wood, enjoy the hiking area, playgrounds area for toddler and older kids, the swimming pool, baseball, etc. . It has a couple of washroom areas and a small parking lot. You can reach there from Bride Skyline Station, by bus or car.
Gilda C — Google review
Very nice park. I liked the water park and the kids playground. The park was super quiet as the tennis courts were being refurbished. It was fairly clean, but could use some garbage bins around the perimeter rather than all on the centre of the park.
Martin K — Google review
I found this park really perfect. It has nice bunches with tables in between the splashy park area and the kids playground area so you can view both areas well and keep an eye on your kids from the table bunches. It has a wide space of grass area for running, playing ball, etc.. We really loved it.
Salma H — Google review
Its an awesome park. There are two parks like one is lower Hume park and the other with children playground and spray park is upper hume. Lower one has a gazibo and big area for outdoor celebrations or get togethers, there is no marked parking. Both the parks are in continuation only. Children’s play area is nice with big slides and swings, see saw. There is a big playground and tennis courts also. There is marked parking in upper one. Water spray park is not that big but sufficient for the enjoyment on a hot sunny day. So many benches and seating spots are available. Its a nice picnic area i would say, you can enjoy with your family n loved ones here. One can easily spend 2 or 3 hours here with their children.
Navv K — Google review
Came here with family and friends. Park is large with lots of space to play for young and old alike. There is a water park and a dry playground for the kids. Open grass fire LFA for those wanting some space to throw a ball or disc. Some trails to walk as well as a off leash dog park for your best friend to get some exercise. There are also tennis courts, bathrooms, picnic tables, benches, a lacrosse area, an outdoor pool (closed) and a baseball diamond. There are (at least) two parking lots on opposite ends of the park. Another nice feature were the abundance of trees one can use for shade on those hot, sunny days. Plenty of groups also brought their temporary shelters. There’s something to do for everyone. Hume park has a spray park operating in the summer and playground right beside it. The dog park is in decent size and there’s a trail on the north side of the park that goes all the way to Burnaby lake. The facilities do need a little upgrade though, ie. tennis court, outdoor swimming pool, playground and spray park. There are 2 public washrooms nearby, one is by the spray park and the other one by the large lawn area on the north side. There are enough parking spaces around.

Good place to go with family especially good for kids as there’s good swings. Swimming pool etc. Benches are in good distance and you can maintain social distancing. If you’re with family and going for picnic. There’s a covered area to sit together.beautiful nature walk from one area to other. If you going downside or coming up you can take a short or long nature walk . Up to you both are small but lush green. Parking shortages on weekends. But you get a spot anyway. Public washroom one upstairs one downstairs. Keep checking I will add more photos. These are just quick shots. When the spring is coming you can watch birds here from tiny Chikadee to large woodpecker who knows what’s in your luck . I saw chickadee, pileated woodpecker ,blue jay ,robins song sparrow, hummingbird and warbler. Seagulls and crows as they’re everywhere.

My husband and I got married on the Paddlewheeler boat in August 2022. It was the best wedding I've ever been to!! The food was excellent, the staff were attentive, and the wedding coordinator worked hard to make sure everything was perfect. We greatly appreciate the work that the crew put in to make our day a success!!

At this point, 0 stars - would be happy to update if anything changes. TL:DR cruise cancelled, no notice, no refund, no response, months later they still have our money. Possible scam? My partner and i booked a cruise for December, which was cancelled. We were informed less than 48 hrs in advance via voicemail and that there would be some kind of credit (if the cruise was cancelled by the company, the RIGHT thing to do would be processing refunds!). This was the last Friday before Christmas, thus the office was then closed for the holidays. And then they were closed for the season. To this day, several months later, we have yet to be able to reach anyone - the website claims bookings for. 2025 are coming, while still holding our money hostage and now I’ve seen a ‘company for sale’ sign on the booth at the quay.

I read good reviews on this so I booked a sunset dinner cruise for 2. We were the last ppl to arrive and where we were seated, ended up being the best seats in the house, in my opinion. I was doubtful the night before because there was rain in the forecast but there was no rain. In fact it was the perfect evening because it wasn't too hot. We departed at 6pm. They starting taking drink orders right away and then began serving the baskets of bread at 630pm followed by the main meal. The meal choices were; chicken or beef or salmon or vegetarian, with roasted potatoes and seasonal vegetables. I had the chicken which was satisfactory. My husband had the beef which was a little tough. We were free to wonder about the boat, upper and lower deck. We really enjoyed the view as we went up the fraser river towards Barnston Island. I guess it depends on weather, tides and water conditions, as to how far up the river you go. We circled Douglas Island and were on our way back by 730pm. Dessert was served at 8pm, which was chocolate cake. Overall, the food was okay. They view/cruise was beautiful. The only server was great, Shafeen. He was very pleasant and we had a great conversation and found out that we've met him in the past, over 15 yrs ago. The cost of the cruise included a 3 course meal (drinks had to be ordered and paid for after the cruise) and the gratuity. We will definitely do this again, on a different route/tour.

I am totally disgusted by this company.Four of us (seniors) booked the Pitt Meadows trip in September 2025 and the morning of, it was cancelled. I managed to speak to someone the following day and was told we could use the credit to go on a trip in 2026. So in good faith we waited, watching for the website to open in the spring. Like everyone else on here, the voicemail was full some days, emptied on others, no replies to calls or emails. I contacted city hall in May and was told they did not have a business licence approved for 2026. I was told the owners lived in Fort Langley. I contacted the New West newspaper and gave them the story, they did not follow up. If we could get enough people together we could go to the small claims court. Is the paddleboat even there anymore? What an atrocious story, they were still taking bookings until the end of the year knowing they were stealing.
Julie M — Google review
DO NOT BOOK WITH THESE SCAMMERS! We booked a tour which was cancelled with less than 24hrs notice. They haven’t reached out to rebook, won’t answer emails and their phone automatically sends you to a mailbox full message. Stay away!

Went on a dinner cruise today and it was so much fun. The staff was very kind and accomodating. I love that there's so much details and history in some parts of the boat. It was kinda cloudy today but the sunset was beautiful nonetheless.

It's alot of fun. We went on the October fest cruise up the Fraser River. The captain greets you on and off the boat which is nice. The service is good and friendly. The bathrooms are very small so if you are claustrophobic this might be an issue for you. The drinks cost $7 and up. Only one pitcher of beer is available and sold out in the first 15 mins. The tour itself lasts from 7 to 10 pm. We just had dessert, pumpkin pie with whipped cream and New York cheesecake with caramel sauce and whipped cream, it was tasty but you can tell it was store brought. The DJ, Dave was fun. The music starts in the 60's and works it way up to present music. Overall it was a fun few hours on the river.

El Santo is an award-winning Mexican restaurant located in New Westminster, just a short drive from Angelinas. The restaurant prides itself on offering a unique dining experience, focusing on using fresh, local ingredients to create innovative and authentic Mexican dishes. The chic and welcoming atmosphere is enhanced by vibrant wall murals, adding to the festive ambiance.
We came here for a bite and ended up arriving just in time for Happy Hour. Food: 5/5 - from the Happy Hour menu, we share the house made tortilla chips with gauc and we both ordered the trio taco of any 3 tacos so we had one of each - chicken, pork, and Ling cod. My favourite was the Ling cod. All the meats were soft and tasty but not overcooked. If you’re wanting traditional Mexican food, you won’t find it here. Lots of different food choices. There was also a set menu dinner special. Service: 5/5 - our server was great. Attentive and thorough. Atmosphere: 5/5 - nice vibes to the place. Great venue for a special occasion. They have booth and table seating

Good service the other night. Finally got to try some of their food and it was good. Would say some of their tacos need a bit more flavor and fish tacos could have been crispier. Table loved the Brussel sprouts. Chips and salsa is a little pricey for what you get. Salsa tasted fresh. Veggie tacos should be much cheaper than the meat. Glad they double them up as they do fall apart.

We had a great dine-in experience Restaurant is efficient in picking calls, answering questions, making reservations and attention to details. Our server Estefania was so kind and cooperative, explains dishes in detail. I loved the flavours of all the dishes we ordered, you need to specify your spice level and they will do needful to serve you well.

Best spot for date night. We got in right away during peak dinner time on a Friday night, it was busy but they accommodated us despite not having reso’s, service was great, food was delicious with generous portion sizes, ambiance was great. Nice little spot with great staff. We ordered too many tacos and they happily cancelled one of our orders. Overall great experience.

I'm great atmosphere and excellent service. We have not had a lot of the menu yet but it has all been amazing. Do a barbacoa tacos and the quesoberia appetizer were the two best things I've had but the fish tacos come in at a close second. I would also highly recommend the Caesar with mezcal. I look forward to making this a regular dinner date location.

✨ Had a wonderful birthday dinner at El Santo in New Westminster! The food was bursting with flavor and beautifully prepared. We shared tacos and empanadas—honestly the best I’ve ever had. The atmosphere made the evening extra special, and the service was fantastic. We’ll definitely be coming back! ✨

I loved the energy and smile of the waitress but very, very disappointed with the food. The al pastor tacos felt we were eating burnt bits of meat. Felt horrible…ngl The pescado tacos was 90% batter and 10% fish. Let’s not forget that EACH OF THR TACOS WAS $17!!! They were having a Drag show? at that time, no problem with the show at all but it was so loud we had no choice to eat outside in the cold. Was unsatisfied in general.
Yumi N — Google review
The place was great, the food was amazing but the service was not good. You can't expect too much from a place in New West. The reason I give the service a low rating is because our table was in the middle of restaurant where the servers walk past us all the time but they didn't check in on us. I asked for a spoon twice and we had to look for them to ask for the bill even though they came and told us it was last call. I would go back again for the food. Its a good neutral area.

Longtail Kitchen

Pan-Asian restaurant
Longtail Kitchen is a vibrant and stylish eatery that brings the essence of Thai street food to life, nestled along the picturesque river at Westminster Quay. This delightful venue offers a modern twist on traditional dishes like noodles, fried rice, and satay, all crafted by renowned chef Angus An. The patio provides an inviting atmosphere where diners can enjoy their meals while watching paddle wheelers glide by and engaging in some lively people-watching along the bustling boardwalk.
We were craving Thai food and we decided to go New Wesminster Quay since it was close to home. Let's start with the deep-fried wings. Skin was crispy it crackled giving way to juicy, tender meat that practically melted in my mouth. Each bite was an explosion of savory goodness, with just the right hint of spice to keep things interesting. The wings came with nam pla sauce but wasn’t spicy and had a thicker consistency that I I never had before. Next up, the deep-fried squid. Now, I've had calamari before, but this was on another level. The squid was cooked to perfection, not rubbery or chewy like some places serve it. Instead, it was delicate and almost sweet, with a satisfyingly crispy exterior. The squid with rice came with a fried egg similar to the ones that you would get in Thailand. Overall, this meal was a flavor bomb. It was the kind of food that makes you close your eyes and savor every bite. If you're looking for a culinary adventure, this is it. Definitely not expecting this from a food court type place. Only improvement I can see is the eating area was a little bit cold with an uninsulated metal and glass garage door. You may want to bring your food to the central eating area where it’s nice and warm. I’ll be coming back here again.

I always saw the good reviews about this place. Finally, we made it there. Really friendly service from a lovely thai girl who gave us a warm welcome. Really delicious food, fast service, nice portion with good price and a nice patio outside on a sunny day. Thank you very much again for a free rice for the girls and a free thai tea for me, very kind of you! So this is our favorite thai restaurant in New Westminster

Longtail has been a fixture in the food scene at the NewWest Quay for a number of years now. They are very consistent with high quality dishes. Great place to savour the food as you can either sit outside and enjoy the view of the river or sit inside. I ordered the stir fried eggplant with rice. Unlike other places' stir fried eggplant dishes, their's still had a crispy texture as the sauce was underneath the pile of eggplant. Very tasty flavours and not too salty! My only constructive comment is the price seemed a little high (as were all the other dishes).
Stewart W — Google review
Such a great experience!! Great tasting food, quick eat and reasonable prices make this restaurant our new favourite!! The outdoor patio allowed our pups to enjoy a little snacky snack with their mama after a long nice walk on the pier. Great service and the atmosphere are on point 💯
Maggie C — Google review
The food is well presented and prepared at the moment but our noodles were too rich, there was way too much sauce, and that made them a bit too salty. The canned beverages are too sweet with artificial flavours in them, the coconut one especially.
Gloria L — Google review
Delicious and great gluten free options. The portions are huge so definitely shareable. The staff are really friendly, big smiles and they go above and beyond. They also sell products so you too can try your hand at creating a yummy dish. This spot is small but there is plenty of seating inside and out. My friend's and I appreciated the vegetarian and gluten free options. I recommend this place for grab and go or stay and enjoy the waterfront.

I always receive good service and I love the eggplant cooked just right and well seasoned. I recommend it to my friends and I sell it whenever I can. Come and try it and you will become a customer like me! Good luck!

The dishes were all beautifully presented ,but was very salty. So salty that I kept wanting to drink water. Especially any dish that had ground meat — those were all extra salty.

Wild Thyme

Mentioned on

Lebanese restaurant
Wild Thyme is a cozy restaurant offering traditional Mediterranean and Middle Eastern cuisine, with a focus on the spice mixture zaatar, which includes wild thyme as one of its key ingredients. The house flatbreads are a highlight, featuring various toppings including white Armenian-style cheese and zaatar spread. The restaurant provides a warm and inviting atmosphere with both indoor and outdoor seating options. One recommended dish is the Lahmajoun, a fresh bread filled with beef stuffing.
Wild thyme is a very relaxed, easy going, slow paced establishment and I’m here for it. The staff are beautiful, kind and polite. There’s no rush in ordering or eating or paying. Its pace gave me Europe feels, which I thoroughly enjoyed. It’s a place to go to and eat Lebanese food that has rich bold flavours that you’ll taste for the rest of your day. The baba ganoush and garlic dip are to die for, packed with beautiful flavour and seasoning. The ambiance is simple and small but this place has big things to offer. My number 1 spot for Lebanese food- HANDS DOWN, NO CAP!
Kay S — Google review
Wild Thyme is a real gem in New Westminster. We tried a variety of dips to start and each one was packed with bold, delicious flavor. The chicken and rice dish absolutely stole the show — the sauce was rich and flavorful, and the chicken was perfectly cooked and juicy. We also had a lettuce wrap dish (forgot the name!) that was fresh, vibrant, and just as satisfying. Service was superb — friendly and attentive. Prices are a bit on the higher side, but the quality and depth of flavor make it completely worth it. Highly recommend for anyone looking for elevated Lebanese cuisine!

I visited this Lebanese restaurant with family for a holiday dinner and had a great experience overall. We ordered the kafta with rice and the chicken with rice—both dishes were well-seasoned, perfectly cooked, and full of flavor. The portions were satisfying, and you could really taste the freshness of the ingredients. The customer service was friendly and welcoming, which added to the pleasant dining experience. The atmosphere of the restaurant was warm and inviting, making it a great spot for a family gathering. Would definitely come back again for the food and the relaxed vibe. A solid choice for anyone craving authentic Lebanese cuisine.
Hassan M — Google review
Prices may seem high…but it’s NOT considering the portion sizes. We had three adults and a child in our party and we ordered two combo meals & a flatbread…and we left very full and still had leftovers for lunch between me and my spouse! Those dipping sauces for the bread are amazing. Service was very friendly and the food came piping hot. The flavours and tenderness of each meat dish were excellent, and it’s hard to bea bread that is made fresh and served to the table directly from the oven. Love this restaurant that has delivered quality every time we visit…and we’ve come every once in a while over the past 5-6 years.
Ray J — Google review
Coming from the Gulf, we truly understand the importance of freshly baked bread served with salad and hummus. Since moving to New Westminster, we’ve often had to travel far just to enjoy our favorite Middle Eastern cuisine. We’ve tried many Lebanese restaurants across Canada, but something always felt missing — that warm, fresh-out-of-the-oven bread. At Wild Thyme, we finally found what we were craving. The freshly baked bread here is absolutely authentic and takes us right back home. The lamb shank is perfectly cooked, falling off the bone, and paired with flavorful rice that’s rich in spices. It’s comforting, delicious, and full of heart. Highly recommend this place for anyone looking for real, soulful Lebanese food!

A cozy, family-run restaurant in New Westminster with beautifully prepared Arabic cuisine. We went with a large group from work and absolutely loved every single dish! The food was flavorful and authentic, the portions were generous, and the service was warm and welcoming. Such a great spot to enjoy a meal with friends, family, or colleagues—I’ll definitely be coming back!

Cockney Kings Fish & Chips

Fish & chips restaurant
Cockney Kings Fish & Chips is a popular spot known for its classic fish and chips. The menu offers a variety of fish options such as cod, salmon, haddock, or halibut served with fresh-cut fries. The all-you-can-eat option is available on select days. In addition to the main attraction, the restaurant also offers patio seating, friendly staff, and quick service. It has been recognized as the best fish and chips restaurant in New Westminster and the lower mainland.
We stop by this restaurant for the afternoon tea. What a surprise we have the good quality of food with reasonable price. The fish and the chips are good with lighter batter with it. They offer small plate. It's good for seniors. The picture that I show is one cod with chips only $11.25 and $2 for a can of pop. The price is cheaper than a food court. We know everything all gone up these days. I am so appreciated they keep their affordable price for all. The coffee and tea only $2.50. If you are in this area, this is the best restaurant for you and your family with kids! They also have kid's menu and party size combo for big family. The location is perfect since there are plenty of free parking in this mall. You can do some shopping there including Save on food. The staff are super nice too! We will be back very soon.

Stopped by for lunch with the family and had a great experience overall. We ordered halibut, cod, and shrimp — all were well cooked, nicely seasoned, and fresh. The shrimp stood out the most for me — crispy, flavorful, and perfectly done. The only downside was that everything was a bit too oily, which made the meal feel heavier than expected. Still, the quality of the seafood made up for it. Service was friendly and efficient, and the atmosphere was relaxed and welcoming — perfect for a casual family lunch. Would definitely return, especially for the shrimp!

Cockney Kings Fish and Chips Columbia Square Plaza, 66 10th St #130, New Westminster, BC V3M 1A6 #fishandchips #allyoucaneat #aycu #fried #fish #newwestminster #transitfriendly Located close to the New Westminster Skytrain Station, walk along Carnarvon Street, when you get off the train and it’s an easy 5 minute walk to the Columbia Square Plaza. For a Wednesday afternoon, the restaurant was 80% full inside and several tables out by the patio. We ordered 2 All You Can Eat (Basa fillets) , and one Small plate of Haddock, and we also ordered the Calamari. For the All You Can Eat, we both got 3 pieces of fish and fries to start and pop, the small plate had one piece of fish with fries. The fish from the All You Can Eat was nicely fried, non greasy when you bite in and it’s not fishy or frozen smelling at all. For the price, this was a good deal, our server was very efficient and attentive and brought our pop refill in a timely manner. You can also choose to have your fish grilled, steamed, and fry without flour or flavor. Since we didn’t ask for refills for our AYCE meal, our server gave us boxes to take the leftovers home.. next day, the fish and chips were still crispy and tasty.

For some reason this location is better han Burnaby. Had three pieces. Halibut, the king of fish, was excellent. Salmon was excellent as well. Haddock was good, not great. Nice chips and gravy. Was here at the busy dinner hour but got a seat right away. Wait time for food was fine. Service was very good

I was in Vancouver for the weekend and just wanted to say, Annika at the New Westminster location was amazing! She was super friendly and it completely made my day! I used to work retail, so I know good customer service when I see it. This was top tier! It was pretty busy but she made time to check in frequently to see if I needed anything and was so polite! There were a few customers at another table that seemed a bit rude and demanding, but she handled it like a boss. Both the service and the food were incredible! 10/10! One of the best experiences I’ve ever had at a restaurant! 💕

A very British-style fish and chips restaurant! Clean and tidy, with great service. The Cod Small Plates were a steal, and the Chicken Tacos were tasty too. Definitely worth coming back for more!

Cockney Fish and Chips is a great spot for classic seafood lovers! I tried the Halibut Fish, which was beautifully battered and flaky, and the Louisiana Shrimp with What-what sauce, which had a bold, flavorful kick. Both were absolutely delicious and cooked to perfection. If you’re craving no-frills, tasty seafood in a cozy setting, Cockney is definitely worth a visit!
Samyuktha S — Google review
Tried the all-you-can-eat menu at Cockney Kings Fish & Chips. Overall, it was a good experience. The space was decent, and the server was very kind and friendly. However, the food was a bit too greasy, it tasted like the oil hadn’t been changed in a while. Still, the highlight was the price: only $17 per person including a bottomless drink, which makes it a great deal if you’re really hungry.

Went for Saturday breakfast with friends. Food was fresh, cooked to our liking. So many options to choose from. Service was great even with a full house. With lovely interior, glass ceiling, being right at the quay, this place is a vibe. No reservations on weekends but for 10am, we didn't have to wait much. It got busier an hour later even on a rainy day. Will definitely come back maybe on a sunny day to enjoy outdoor patio and walk by the quay.

Went for Brunch. Had their Yummy Hash with Coffee and it was totally worth it. A little pricey than usual but quality and quantity sure makes up for it. Service was pleasant. Just too busy all the time so make sure to go ahead of time/book a seat ahead if you want to have good lunch/brunch. I had to wait for 45 minutes. Unfortunately couldnt take pics of the food. Another day i got the take out -Denver Sandwich which was was real good. Surely recommend this place.

Easily the busiest and most beloved brunch spot in New West. The food is consistently great, the portions are generous, and the vibe is cozy and lively. If you’re planning to visit, make sure to grab a number through Google ahead of time. The wait can be long especially on weekends. They offer a full variety of Tabasco sauces at the table. If you’re like me and love a spicy kick with your breakfast, you’ll appreciate the extra effort. Go early, go hungry, and don’t skip the sauces.

Very busy on a weekend but wait wasn’t too long for a group of 6 once we got our name put down for their waiting list. Service was attentive and we were all able to get our food at the same time. Wait time varies, we had to wait somewhere between 20-30 minutes.

Piva Modern Italian is a stylish and contemporary restaurant located in Downtown New Westminster, offering modern Italian cuisine made with locally sourced ingredients. The executive chef, Subraaz Abdullah, has introduced monthly specials focusing on different regions of Italy, showcasing the quality of cuisine at Piva. The menu features a variety of pasta dishes such as wild boar spaghetti, eggplant gnocchi, and prawn fettuccine, along with an assortment of pizzas.

My wife has had her eye on this Italian spot for a while, so when we saw there was no lineup on a Friday night (a small miracle), we jumped right in. Service? Solid. Vibe? Pretty good—though you might need to raise your voice a bit to talk over the noise. At that point, things were looking promising… until the food showed up. We started with focaccia, Brussels sprouts, and the big-ticket lobster risotto. The focaccia came out room temperature—kind of like it had been sitting around waiting for me instead of the other way around. At a mid-range Italian place, I was expecting warm, pillowy bread. And the olive oil–balsamic dip? Served in a tiny bowl, so it was basically all oil with a hint of vinegar—like salad dressing that gave up halfway. Then came the lobster risotto. Let’s just say it didn’t need salt for the next decade. Way too salty, to the point where it was less “lobster risotto” and more “ocean with rice.”

The atmosphere at Piva Italian restaurant was nice, and staff were pleasant, though not so impressed with the food - I've definitely had better italian elsewhere...though it wasn't bad. What I didn't quite understand was the seating choice. The restaurant wasn't full, yet we were seated right beside the door where it was cold and the draft kept coming in and we had a child with us, mind you. They did mive us to the next table when we requested it, but honestly, that shouldn't have been necessary. It's a no-brainer to seat guests in a more comfortable spot when there are plenty of open tables. I've noticed that this isn't unique to Piva - several restaurants seem to do the same - but it really does affect the overall dining experience.

Piva nails the trifecta: gorgeous big‑window decor, sleek modern vibe, and unbeatable convenience. It is steps from the SkyTrain and has parking tucked under the Anvil Centre. No circling the block like a hungry shark. Food: We’ve been here a few times, and the lineup never disappoints. - Gnocchi: pillowy little clouds of happiness. - Bistecca: steak that makes you question why you ever bothered with your BBQ. - Seafood fettuccine: proof Poseidon might be moonlighting in the kitchen. - Margarita pizza: simple, classic, and the kind of pie that makes you forget delivery forever. Appetizer Highlight: The polenta fries are a must‑order. They start as creamy cornmeal cooked into a thick porridge, cooled until firm, then sliced into fry‑like sticks and crisped up. Six golden batons arrive with a spicy pomodoro sauce so good you’ll want to lick the ramekin. Honestly, they would pair perfectly with bread. Bread & Olive Oil: Here’s the kicker. Piva used to give bread and olive oil for free. Now it’s five bucks. Not a deal‑breaker, but let’s be honest paying for bread feels like being charged extra for air. Still, if you cave, that bread makes the perfect mop for the leftover polenta sauce, so you’ll forgive them by the last bite. Service: Ask for Darrel with two R’s. He doesn’t just serve, he elevates the whole experience. The man deserves his own Yelp category. Price: Average dish around $30, which feels fair given the quality, location, and the fact you will leave already planning your next visit. We've been here a few times now, so we can vouch for it

The dinner here was incredible. Food was well prepared, great service from staff, and the ambiance was very nice. Would give more stars if I could, highly recommend if you’re looking for a nice night out!
Hafeez M — Google review
Our server was lovely and accommodating but we’d definitely recommend reserving for better table but the food was very good. Highly recommend the beet salad to start it’s light and tasty. The dessert wasn’t what we expected but it was good.
H A — Google review
Highly recommend the seafood pastas and desserts! The pizza was good, but elevated when our amazing server (Tony) suggested we safeguard the pasta sauce for dipping the crusts. We had the seasonal limoncello spritzer and guava 65 cocktail - both refreshing. The desserts really stole the show for us both. The Nonna is a classic here and is much lighter than it sounds or looks - the simple yet thoughtful execution makes it delicious and comforting. We last minute reserved a table for our anniversary due to a mishap at our other restaurant choice. The staff were very accommodating and made sure we had a special time with a fantastic chocolate budino anniversary dessert!

Artusi Restaurant

Italian restaurant
Restaurant
Artusi Restaurant offers a cozy ambiance and cuisine at a slightly higher price range. A group of five individuals had a satisfying dining experience. The ingredients displayed flavorsome freshness, blending traditional Italian tastes with innovative twists evident in certain dishes (like their gnocchi special featuring pear and blue cheese). However, one person received overcooked gnocchi that was excessively soft. The desserts were petite and exceeded the budget, so they decided to forgo them.
We had brunch here and it was very good! Reasonably priced for a meal that felt fancy because of the table settings and decor. Service was top notch!

I visited this place expecting a quality Italian restaurant, but I was very disappointed. I came looking forward to a delicious Di Mare, but what I got was far from it. The seafood pasta came with just three tiny pieces of shrimp—barely the size of a fingernail, likely from a frozen seafood mix—along with three equally small scallops and five miniature clams. That was it. For a dish priced at $29, this was shockingly underwhelming. The taste didn’t make up for it either—it honestly wasn’t even as good as a decent home-cooked meal. The best thing I had here was probably the complimentary bread. I don’t mind paying more for food that’s made with care and tastes amazing, but this just didn’t deliver. The portion and presentation were so minimal, it honestly felt like something out of a kids’ play kitchen. Even the fork was so small, I thought it was a dessert fork. The whole experience just didn’t feel like a proper meal. If this restaurant wants to survive in today’s economy, I believe they seriously need to make improvements.

The service was spectacular however I think the food could be better executed. The prorchetta in the salad were sliced cold, I think either a light pan fry or toasted could elevate the dish a bit more. The Papalina was good. The polpette napoletane was a bit on the tougher side and the tomato sauce was too running, it was hard to incorporate it when I eat and a bit bland as well. The pici al cinghiale was bland, cannot taste the tomato sauce. Overall I would come back again to see if there was any improvement, because I see a a lot of potential in the menu and services.

We stopped in at Artusi on a quiet Tuesday evening and enjoyed sampling both the happy hour and main menu. The atmosphere was relaxed and welcoming, which made for a lovely dinner setting. The menu offered a nice variety with some dishes standing out for their flavor, while others felt a little more on the simple side. A touch more seasoning in places could have really elevated the flavors, and the porchetta salad might shine even more if the porchetta were cooked to bring out its richness. bruscehetta was served on an artisan foccacia that was soft and crunchy but lacked balsamic. the boar pasta was meaty which I enjoyed very much Overall, the experience was enjoyable, with friendly service and a calm ambiance. exceptional service, tentative and didn't ever leave us waiting.

We went to Artusi on Friday on our first date after reading great reviews about the restaurant. It is indeed a hidden gem in New Westminster. Such a cozy and warm atmosphere. It was busy and our food took a little bit more time however it was full of flavours and presented well. Excellent selection of wines and cocktails. Service was good and overall it was a great dining experience We will be back

The worst bolagnese ever. Pictures on app look great. Actual product no sauce, no meat and absolutely no taste. Noodles also taste gummy. Worst pasta I have ever had. Stay away. Look at menu picture and actual. Talk about a bait and switch.
Stan J — Google review
We had a great time here. Fantastic service, great food, and a nice bottle of wine. We tried the veal and tuna appetizer as well as the eggplant appy. I just wanted to drink the sauce of the fiore balsamic it was so good!. We shared 2 pasta dishes that were both very good. The gnocchi cupola was very satisfying & rich but oh so comforting. The pici al Ragu Bianco was simple but full of all the great flavours good Italian food is known for. This place is a little gem in the heart of New Westminster. Strong recommend. Buon appetito!

Anny's Dairy Bar

Family restaurant
Québécois restaurant
Anny's Dairy Bar is a bustling eatery that offers soft-serve ice cream in cones and sundaes, along with a variety of Canadian treats such as the famous Poutine. This family-run establishment provides a unique dining experience, especially for kids. In addition to their delectable frosty treats like the Maple Twist Cone and classic banana splits, they also serve savory options including burgers, poutines, and hot dogs.
Poutine made to order with traditional toppings to chose from (wieners, ground beef, or Montreal smoked meat) sprinkled with tasty cheese curds. The fries were hot and crispy where the savoury gravy has made contact. Best to eat right away instead of letting the whole delicious affair get cold and soggy. Service was quick, friendly and also offers you a chance to practice your high school French! Don’t leave without trying the maple twist.
Ray J — Google review
Anny’s Dairy Bar is a small fast food place that was quite busy on the weekend when we visited. There are limited seating both indoor and outdoor. You order and pay at the counter, then you wait for your order to be called. We ordered the large Montreal smoked meat poutine to share and the portion was good for two. It came with plenty of gravy, cheese curds, and pieces of smoked meat. The smoked meat was a bit too salty, but we enjoyed the gravy and the cheese curds from the poutine. While we were eating inside, there were always customers coming and ordering food, so it can get super busy. The time we went, their maple twist ice cone wasn’t available, so we’ll have to come back to try again. Note that they do not take credit cards, so debit cards and cash only.
May Z — Google review
I’ve been far and wide, coast to coast, and for the West Coast this is hands down the best poutine you can find. The fries are golden, crispy, and homemade — straight cut with just the right thickness. The cheese curds? Easily the best I’ve ever had anywhere west of Quebec. The steamy dog all dressed is a true classic, and hard to come by out here, but this is the place to get it if you’ve been craving that authentic bite. Bravo. I’ll definitely be back. 10/10.
J T — Google review
Anny’s smoked meat poutine is next level. The fries were crispy, the curds were fresh and squeaky, and the smoked meat just melted in your mouth. Total comfort food, no regrets. Plus, the people there were super friendly and chill, felt like they actually cared. Just good food and good vibes all around. Definitely coming back.
Cristian D — Google review
Good old fashioned poutine, burgers, hotdogs and the unique in BC, Maple twist ice cream. We’ve been coming here for many years and the place is very family friendly. A good place to check out when you are in New Westminster.
M C — Google review
Must visit if you are in the neighbourhood. Love their poutine and milkshake. Burger was just meh. Super busy on a weekend afternoon. Service was a bit slow because they only have 2 people working in the back. Super friendly though. The place is on the fence between rundown and old school charm. Will be great to see a facelift.
E Y — Google review
I've got no real thoughts on the burger, I wanted a combo and a burger sounded nice at the time. It's a standard backyard get-together type burger, I can't complain The 5 star is for the poutine, which is fantastic. As a tourist, I searched the Internet to see who makes the best poutine in Vancouver and Anny's was always #1, tied for 1st, or a close second to La Belle Patate. The fries are fantastically crispy and browned but tender inside, the curds are super melty and nice, and the gravy is really good. I honestly can't think of how these could be better. Please come to Anny's for the poutine
Christopher H — Google review
Super affordable and satisfying poutine and soft serve. The poutine is properly seasoned, fries are creamy inside but well fried on the outside and the curds are melty and give great cheese pulls. The maple soft serve is everything you want in soft serve and not too sweet! The service is quick, friendly and reliable! They know what they are doing. Just be warned that there is no AC and it is HOT in the summer heat. I recommend getting the poutine and eating in the shade outside for some air and returning for ice cream when you're ready.

Nestled along the picturesque Fraser River at New Westminster Quay, The Boathouse Restaurant is a must-visit for anyone seeking a taste of the West Coast. This charming eatery specializes in local and sustainable seafood, alongside premium steaks that are sure to satisfy any palate. Diners can choose between the elegant indoor dining room or the vibrant bar area, both offering breathtaking views of the water.
The restaurant was really pretty! The food was good, but yeah, breakfast was a bit pricey for what it was. Still, the view from there was amazing, totally worth it for the location alone. I'd go back, maybe for something a little less...breakfast-y, haha.
Naiba M — Google review
Silvia was a very attentive and friendly server. The Boathouse was basically empty at 4pm for Happy Hour. The drinks were excellent. We both had the Amalfi Stroll. Highly recommend! We shared the Coconut Crunchy Shrimp (4), the Pot Stickers (6) the Korean Chicken Sliders (2), and the Tempura Shrimp sticks (4). The portions are small, and would have liked more for the price. The Tempura Shrimp sticks were not in Tempura, more like Fish and Chip batter, and they were overcooked and chewy. A 5 ⭐️ would be earned with bigger portions.

We were here a few hours ago for brunch, the lady who helped us was friendly. I ordered classic breakfast my daughter got eggs Benedict and my wife got cheese omelette. The food came hot and fast. My food was good and my wife loves her omelette, however, my daughter got her egged Benedict over cook. We informed our waitress and told her we will eat it but let the kitchen know for next time. Our waitress Melissa was apologetic even though it was not a big deal, she was super friendly and her hospitality was amazing! She offered to exchange it, my daughter was fine with it. The Manager (Ayesha?) came out and got my daughter new eggs Benedict and was also apologetic. Over all the food was good, the view still as awesome as ever but I think the service was more amazing. Melissa made sure we were happy and satisfied with our food and we can see her sincerity that she felt bad. We will come back again.

I had a nice relaxing dinner here! The environment by the Fraser River was very pleasant, and it wasn’t too busy. The seafood linguine that I had was very tasty, especially the thick creamy pesto sauce!! There was a wide variety of choices to choose from, and I’m sure they’re all just as delicious! The waitress was really nice, and we didn’t have to wait long for our food to be prepared :)

Food is mediocre. Rice not properly cooked. Veggies are undercooked. Price is not worth it for the food. Soup and dessert portions are small. This place is 90% empty for dinner between 6:45 pm to 8:00 pm. Would not come back again due to portion size and quality. Server is nice.

We came here twice during our trip and both times were excellent. The food was absolutely wonderful. I had the Ahi tuna starter and the oysters, and we enjoyed a great bottle of wine the first night. Don’t skip the Old Fashion. It’s deadly in the best way. On our second visit, we tried several of their cocktails, all of which were fantastic. Our server had amazing suggestions every time we asked. We ordered the shrimp and brie, which was incredible. It’s not something I would usually try, and it came served almost like a casserole, but it was delicious. For dinner, we had the steak and lobster, both cooked perfectly with very generous portions. The service was friendly, attentive, and helpful with recommendations. It wasn’t too busy, which made the experience even more relaxing. The view is stunning. Highly recommend, and we’ll definitely be back.

Disappointing birthday dinner experience....☹️ I asked my boyfriend to book for my early birthday dinner a week ahead on open table, and he even called in to specially request for a windows seat. When we got there, the host spent 1 min with another server to "sort things out" only to sit us at the upper level, NOT window seat because they were all taken.... 🙃 I know my bf didn't specify its for a birthday dinner but that's just a disappointing start. The food was good but nothing spectacular for the price. Our server was too busy with all his tables spread way too far apart inside the restaurant and it was hard to flag him to come when we wanted something. He also gave us the wrong information about th seafood tower, saying it had 6 oysters when it only came with 3. I decided it wasn't worth to stay longer and order more even though I wasn't full and went elsewhere after to remediate the hunger.
Jinchen C — Google review
Took my girlfriend here last night for dinner and we loved everything about the place! Our server, Silvia was a true waitress and always popped in at the right time to bring our order, clear the plates, and had a lovely conversation with us too 😇 The window seat is a great spot to sit inside the restaurant if you want a nice view of the waters at the Quay 🌊 Highly recommend the seafood tower pattern, shrimp tempura roll and the clam chowder 😋

Restaurant
Nestled in an unassuming exterior, Patsara Thai is a delightful gem that offers a vibrant dining experience filled with traditional Thai flavors. From the outside, it resembles a charming purple box, but step inside to discover an elegant ambiance adorned with gold accents and a stunning wall waterfall. The menu features classic dishes like their delectable Pad Thai, which comes loaded with fresh vegetables and is available in two variations.
The food was absolutely delicious, with traditional flavors that really hit the spot. Prices were very affordable, making it a great value for the quality you get. What really stood out, though, was the service — the staff was incredibly kind and attentive throughout the entire experience. It may not be a fancy or upscale restaurant, but it’s definitely worth visiting. Highly recommended if you’re looking for great food and a warm, welcoming atmosphere.

The atmosphere was nice the restaurant was cold had to leave our jackets on. The food had a very tasty delicate taste. They have Gluten free options. But not sure why they can't make the Tom Yum soap gluten free. The servers are friendly but could use a little more training on their own menu on what is GF and show some empathy instead of being annoyed. Peanuts are gluten free.

Fantastic authentic Thai food with generous portions at great prices. We tried several dishes and dessert, all of which were delicious and full of flavor. The service was friendly and attentive, and the restaurant itself is surprisingly spacious. Highly recommend

I love Thai food a lot and this is one of my to go restaurants whenever I visited New West. Staff was nice and spend time explaining different countries to us, so that we were able to pick the right flavour ! Overall, the food was tasty and authentic, no disappointment! Fish sauce wings were fantastic 👏🏻😎
Nicole — Google review
I recently discovered a Thai restaurant not too far from home, and it turned out to be quite the experience. The environment was pleasant and inviting, the food was excellent, and the service, while acceptable, left room for improvement. One particular service hiccup stood out: we asked if we could have normal sticky rice for the mango dessert. The server said they’d check with the chef but ended up placing the order without confirming back to us. While we did get the sticky rice we wanted, the lack of follow-up was a bit off-putting. Now, onto the food—which was the star of the night! The lemongrass fish was a standout dish: crispy on the outside, perfectly juicy on the inside, and paired with a refreshingly balanced sauce. Absolutely no complaints there. The shrimp cakes were also a hit—crispy, flavorful, and satisfying. The Tom Yum soup, while decent, didn’t quite reach the high standard set by the other dishes. It was average compared to other offerings in Vancouver, and I personally prefer it served a little hotter in temperature. The only real miss for me was the roti with curry dip. It was overly oily and didn’t quite match my expectations for the dish. Overall, the food here is worth the trip, and despite the service quirk, I’d happily return for another round of their incredible lemongrass fish.
Daniel L — Google review
From the outside, it looks quite different—almost like a simple bungalow you might overlook. Honestly, I wouldn’t have discovered it if a local friend hadn’t recommended it. But once inside, the décor surprised me: modern and elegant, with wall-mounted waterfall features and a clean, inviting atmosphere. The food was excellent. We tried pineapple rice, green curry (spicy), chicken satay (juicy), chicken lettuce wraps, soup, pandan rice dessert, and pad thai noodles. Everything was flavorful—on the slightly salty side, with just enough chili to make your taste buds dance.
Grace S — Google review
An authentic Thai restaurant with traditional Thai decorations and music. Their menu offers a good variety of dishes. The “mild spicy” level was actually quite medium for foreigners. The Hor Mok was on the sweeter side and was served with rice. There’s also an Asian market that carries some interesting Thai products, but make sure to check the expiry dates.
Inky L — Google review
It’s just my personal pov, it wasn’t something I was expecting, was too sweet for my taste buds, overall it was a nice experience though

Airport
Vancouver International Airport is a major hub located in the southwest of Vancouver, offering seamless travel experiences with exceptional facilities and services. The airport boasts impressive organization and efficiency, with dedicated staff providing commendable professionalism. It is a busy and beautiful airport that sees thousands of passengers traveling globally. The entire space is clean and well-maintained, featuring numerous restaurants catering to all types of travelers, ample amenities, natural lighting, comfortable seating, and detailed signage for easy navigation.
Vancouver International Airport (YVR) is one of the most well-organized and traveler-friendly airports I’ve been through. The layout is clear, signage is easy to follow, and the staff are generally helpful. I especially appreciate the clean facilities and the variety of food and shopping options. Security and customs are efficient compared to many other major airports. Overall, a smooth and pleasant travel experience.

Had a great experience here doing a quick layover. Was able to get out and into the airport without any issues or major delays. Some food/souvenir options as well throughout the airport that make it easy to pass time when needed. The only concern is that security instructions were not always clear, but nothing major.

2025 August 3★ The Vancouver airport is really the bridge to Asian countries from Canada. There's no doubt about that. With Canada spanning a good chunk of land between East and West, you are certainly going to need a stop here when flying from the East coast. This airport isn't bad, but it's not spectacular. The good: easy interconnecting connections for multi leg flights There's some decent open spaces such as the open air atrium and play areas. The bad: the food prices are atrocious. About $20+ for fast food. Face it, you'll be stopping by here eventually. Just pack yourself a cup noodles.
K W — Google review
This airport, despite its substantial size, proved remarkably easy to navigate. Signage was strategically placed and straightforward to comprehend, with ample bathrooms, rest areas, and dining options available. The facilities, including the bathrooms, were impeccably maintained—no issues encountered during my first visit. Priority pass lounge were good as well.

The chapel area is very CLEAN, quiet, private, and welcoming. The information lady upstairs wished me to enjoy my prayer when I asked her where the chapel is. I DID 😊. Staff are respectful welcoming taking really good care of the place. Dennis guided me and my son. Very thankful and grateful to the management and personnel in charge. Staff are great, smiling, and supportive. The chapel is located on Level 2 - across from Tim Hortons. Enjoy 🤲🏻📿📖🧎🏻‍♂️‍➡️🧎‍➡️

Vancouver International Airport (YVR) is fantastic! 20231102 The airport features many spectacular Totem Poles and Indigenous artworks. They are intricately carved and vividly coloured, making the airport feel like a free art museum. These cultural displays are very eye-catching and offer travellers a unique taste of B.C.'s culture. Just looking at the art makes the waiting time much more interesting!
