Seafood restaurant
Restaurant Zrno Soli in Split is a top seafood spot with an impressive team of chefs from around the world, including those with prestigious culinary awards. The young chef Branimir Prnjak leads the kitchen, ensuring fresh ingredients and creative dishes. The restaurant boasts a superb wine list and plans to introduce exclusive options soon. With fantastic views of the marina, it offers innovative and delicious food for those willing to pay a bit more for a memorable dining experience.
Overall, this is a great place to have a fine dinner. The service was great. The server was very attentive and knew the menu very well, he also had great recommendations to make for our dinner. He was knowledgeable when we mentioned that there were food restrictions in our party. The food was fantastic. We had the best of the best of the Adriatic, we also had the fish soup which was delicious. It was a broth soup with a good chunk of white fish and capers. We also tried the super greens starter. It was fantastic. The place is not great for Winter dining since it is in the port and relatively separated from the heart of the city. But you could tell that during the summer months when the boating season is live the terrace is very active and the view of the port of Split is fantastic. We didn’t have dessert, but the options looked really attractive. Overall, you can tell that this place is Michelin guide restaurant and it’s well deserved.

Stellar view out over the harbour. Incredible food, we had a variety of cold appetizers that ranged from very good to absolutely outstanding, followed by a grilled John dory fish, cut and served table side. Strongly recommended.
Robert K — Google review
We came here for lunch and loved the views of the harbor. The service was excellent and the fine was really good. We plan on coming back for dinner to experience the 6 course meal!
Modesto M — Google review
We had a celebration dinner for 16. Everything was great. I was able to stop in a couple of days early and select the wines. We set up the meal family style. Everyone enjoyed the food, wine, service and view. Highly recommend Zrno Soli for a special dinner in Split.

The lunch special feels like a steal. The food is absolutely incredible. The inclusion of water, wine and a coffee is a bonus. Great experience at lunch. Don’t be deterred by bad weather as they ca close the ceiling and if it’s rain / wind or clouds, it’s still a great visit.
Jordi E — Google review
Top best restaurant on all our trip for 3 weeks in Europe. Very good in sea food n cooking skill. Great seafood n fishes dishes. Sea bass in salt n risotto in crab sauces cooking w great skill. Restaurant locate in marina w great location, a bit away from city but worth the walk.
Ithinai Y — Google review
What an evening to remember! Not because of the view or food, but because of the experience! The staff made us feel like home and the food and view made it extra special!
Joel D — Google review
Fabulous views. Amazing food Service excellent The recommendation of the mixed fish starter was amazing and beautifully presented. For a Michelin ⭐️ restaurant it was well affordable A staters to share, 2 main meals and a bottle of wine in a Michelin star restaurant for £125 that’s unheard of 😳

Nautika

Fine dining restaurant
Nautika is a renowned restaurant located at Pile, near the western entrance to Dubrovnik's Old City. It offers a romantic dining experience with unique terraces that provide stunning views of the Adriatic, Lovrijenac and Bokar fortresses, and the city walls.
We had an amazing dinner and our server Hvorje was very good! We were very well taken care of by him. Everyone on the staff looked happy and were courteous. The food (lamb chops and vermicelli with vegetables), ambiance and drinks were fantastic! We had some issues with our reservation but the hostess took care of us and handled the situation very graciously. We would recommed this restaurant to anyone looking for a superb fine dining experience.
Amy P — Google review
We dined at Nautika with high expectations, drawn in by its Michelin star reputation, stunning seaside location, and glowing reviews. And in many ways, the experience delivered. The food was truly excellent - each dish beautifully composed and full of flavour. The view alone is worth noting: a cinematic backdrop of a wooden sailboat gliding across the water, alpine swifts darting overhead, and a front-row seat to one of the most picturesque vistas in Dubrovnik. We were fortunate to enjoy our table for a leisurely three hours, which allowed us to truly settle in and soak up the setting. The staff were warm, gracious, and professional throughout, and we appreciated the thoughtful touches like the complimentary dessert bites and a sweet pomegranate liqueur to end the meal. That said, a few service details fell short of the fine dining standard one might expect at this price point. Our very kind sommelier seemed somewhat flustered - two of the wine pairings arrived mistimed, one after the dish and one well before. Our water glasses were left empty for long stretches early in the meal, and our napkins weren’t refolded when we left the table. Small things, perhaps, but they add up in a place that markets itself on perfection. In the end, we had a memorable evening, and the food was without fault. But with such a lofty reputation, I was hoping for just a bit more polish. Still, if you’re looking for an unforgettable setting and exquisite flavours, Nautika offers both - just know that your expectations may need a touch of calibration.
Amanda B — Google review
My jaws literally dropped when they showed us to the table. The views were stunning. Go early so you can see the the transition from day to night and watch the birds soaring effortlessly. The food became incidental in that glorious setting but were overall of a good standard
Janet T — Google review
Ante and Nautika was absolutely fantastic. My fiance and I just recently got engaged, and so this was our engagement dinner. Atmosphere was incredible, food was perfect, and the entire staff treated as like royalty. They let us be comfortable which is what you want at a fine dining restaurant. Overally, 6/5 star, Ante is a 20/5 star.
Ravin L — Google review
Arrived at 7:00 PM on Sep 24th, 2025. Overall, the food and service were good, but when I pointed out a fly in the red wine, the sommelier with the thick glasses and a receding hairline joked, “A fly! Flies know good wine too,” and never apologized. Then, instead of bringing a new bottle, they poured me the sediment from the bottom of the remaining red wine. I felt the sommelier's level was not matching the restaurant's standard. While satisfied with other aspects, I sincerely hope for improvement. I write this review hoping it reaches the attention of the restaurant's management.
M — Google review
Have been there the other day. The view is stunning when we walked in we were seated at a table overlooking the bay. I saw waiters chatting with customers and taking pictures for customers. I thought it would be a wonderful night. But there was no waiter chatting with us because we do not drink wine, when they realized they would not be upselling the wine to us they completely lost interest in our table. Even the waiters watched us take group photos, they did not offer to help. So rude, it felt a bit elitist to be honest. The food was just ok the service is not good at all. Please prepare to spend a few hundred per person or you will be ignored by staff, it was not particularly busy at the time but all staff were focused on a single other table.
吳幼華 — Google review
An unforgettable fine dining experience! Nautika exceeded all our expectations — from the breathtaking views to the exceptional food and service. Every dish was beautifully presented, and the quality was simply outstanding. The flavors, textures, and attention to detail were on par with — if not better than — several Michelin-starred restaurants we’ve tried around the world. And that says a lot, considering we’re residents of the UAE and have experienced some top-tier dining. The staff were not only professional and attentive, but also genuinely warm, friendly, and even a bit entertaining — which added a relaxed charm to the refined setting. The view overlooking the Adriatic and the city walls made the evening even more magical. Without a doubt, one of the best dining experiences we’ve had — highly recommended for anyone visiting Dubrovnik.
SHABI N — Google review
Views from of the old walls and fortress from the terraces were superb and the service level was unquestionable. We had both tasting menus avaion the day and whilst some courses were exceptional overall I'd say you're paying mostly for the location and experience they offer rather than the food itself.

Restaurant
Pelegrini is a rustic eatery located in Sibenik, known for its high-concept local dishes and extensive wine list. The restaurant has been awarded the honor of Best Restaurant in Dalmatia in 2016 and 2017. Run by passionate chef-owner Rudi Stefan, Pelegrini offers a blend of tradition and innovation with its prime location amid historic stone edifices offset by contemporary decor.
Sarah and her team created the most magical evening for us Canadians visiting Croatia. Thank you so much for the incredible memories❤️❤️❤️❤️

We came here for dinner while staying in the area after our wedding and it was a treat for us. They may only have 1 Michelin star but they definitely should have more. The food was delicious and local, each with a story of origin. The wine was great too. The service was as what you would expect in a place like this with very friendly staff. The only comment I have is that during the summer, the court yard can get quite hot even in the evening so there isn’t much of a breeze that flows through. There are also mosquitos which will get you if you don’t spray. The heat mainly was an issue which didn’t allow for the full enjoyment of the meal but the food and service itself was amazing. Definitely recommended..
James D — Google review
We phoned to book a table for 2 for dinner and were lucky to get one as their online booking system said waiting list only. So glad we phoned. Amazing 6 course meal with extras, they also offer a 4 course. Wonderful inventive tasty food that is impeccably presented. Our waiter gave us the best service we have ever had and recommended good wine matches. Highly recommend to eat there if you are in the area

Beautiful restaurant. Wonderful creative and delicious food. The Tasting menu provides a dinner to remember. Fantastic service. Makes a visit to Sibenik that much more special

An amazing experience at this restaurant, we came with our little baby and the staff were incredibly friendly and accommodating. The food was next level, so so good. The flavours and presentation were excellent. Would definitely recommend.

Incredible meal! Incredible service! Incredible atmosphere! A very special evening. Every bite was absolutely delicious and prepared with such skill and effort. Beautiful combination of tastes that worked so well together. Beautifully orchestrated and well thought out. The is a reason this place has a Michelin star. It probably deserves one or two more. Magnificent!

A Memorable Experience at Pelegrini Today I had the pleasure to try out the sea food at Pelegrini restaurant in Šibenik. This was a true pleasure and I enjoyed it a lot. The food was fantastic, offering a variety of new and exciting flavors. Each dish was beautifully presented and tasted incredible. The staff were incredibly friendly and professional which enhanced the overall experience. They are mostly serving sea food but have some meat as well.
Dario J — Google review
We went there with high expectations due to great reviews and they were still well exceeded. The tasting menu (11 course menu including kitchen greetings) was absolutely fabulous. We definitely recommend taking the tasting menu together with wine pairing as it brings the whole experience to another level. The atmosphere is amazing and staff is knowledgeable and very well synchronised working as Swiss clock.

We had a wonderful dinner at Dvor. The restaurant has a truly beautiful setting with a great view of the sea, which creates a relaxed and elegant atmosphere. The service was attentive and welcoming throughout the evening. We tried the Smoked Risotto, white fish and a steak – everything was fresh, well-prepared and full of flavor. Each dish was nicely presented and it paired perfectly with the setting. Overall, an excellent combination of location, atmosphere, and food. Highly recommended if you’re in Split and want a memorable seaside dining experience.

We had a team dinner here with a group of 30 people—seated at three long tables, and we were very well looked after throughout the evening. It‘s a fantastic restaurant: the outdoor seating is charming, the view is absolutely amazing, and the whole atmosphere felt just right. The menu offered a great variety—everything we tried was flavorful, beautifully presented, and clearly made with care. The fish was absolutely amazing. The service deserves high praise, too. The staff were attentive, friendly, and very efficient — they managed our large group seamlessly.

This is a beautiful location full of beautiful, well dressed people enjoying the night out with delicious Croatian cuisine. I enjoyed a mezcal negroni and my husband got a mojito. Both great cocktails. We enjoyed the lamb chops and salad. Our friends got gazpacho and some traditions beef stew. Everything was fantastic! 😋
Lane K — Google review
Beautiful and peaceful setting on the coast. Michelin rated (2025). Tranquility combined with exceptional culinary experience. We tried the fish soup and the tuna cannelloni filled with foie gras. For the main course we took oven baked fish with vegetables in white wine sauce. Deserts: mango cream with ice cream a nd coconut crumbles. Exceptional service too

On 13.09.2025 When we arrived at the Dvor Restaurant, we were delighted by the ambiance. We were greeted by the friendly and cultural restaurant staff. We had a beautifully decorated table. We ordered an 8-course dinner recommended by the host and champagne recommended by the sommelier. As the meals arrived, the flavors were fantastic and unforgettable with top-quality wine. At the end, a 3-course dessert. We had an unforgettable time and it will remain in our memories forever. We will definitely come again.
Boris S — Google review
Exceptional dining experience! The food was refined and full of flavor, the wine perfectly matched each dish, and the service was warm and attentive. A truly elegant place that makes you want to return.
Gordan K — Google review
Nice refined restaurant. My partner ordered lamb chops and he really enjoyed it. There were not a lot of vegetarian options, there were some side dishes and they also offer pasta and risotto with tomato sauce and vegetables. I ordered the risotto, it was nice but it didn't have a wow factor. Nevertheless, I ordered the lotus dessert and it was AMAZING, that was the experience I was looking for, a great combination of textures and flavors. I highly recommend it :)
Catherine M — Google review
We ordered the tuna and liver roll, tuna steak and crab pasta. Tuna is fresh and juicy. Crab pasta also decent. But in general not the best restaurant I visited in Split.

Restaurant
Šperun eat and drink buffet offers a cozy atmosphere and reasonably priced menu with a variety of dishes. The Italo-Dalmatian menu includes pasta, seafood risottos, and local fish specialties. The restaurant pays attention to details such as using top-quality olive oil and offering good standard wine. Customers appreciate the fresh fish, seafood, and decent variety of vegetables served here. Despite being busy, the prompt service ensures an enjoyable dining experience.
This restaurant was recommended by our receptionist. Not too close but walkable in 15 minutes. Easy to find with the sign. The staff were nice and helpful. The traditional food was good and tasty. We ordered Tuna, squid, soup and steak. It's a must try when you're in Split.👍

Incredible meal! Possibly the best chard side dish we had while in Croatia and they have it everywhere!). Staff were so lovely and the food was delicious. We would have gone back twice but second time found them closed 😭 Thank you! FYI menu is a la carte not buffet...

Wow, what a great little find. We’ve had six different meals over the course of the week in split and this was up there in the top two for sure great value very friendly staff and a lovely atmosphere. I have no idea how enough the chefs cook so much food in such a tiny kitchen

Food is amazing at this wonderfully quant restaurant in Split. The seafood was cooked perfectly and so fresh. Try the grilled sardines, grilled whole sea bass and grilled Hake. You will absolutely love the food here. They also offer steaks. The service is excellent! We will be back!

Was looking for something local And fresh. We walked out of our hotel and came upon this place. It had exactly what we were looking for. Fresh seafood. We got the grilled squid, grilled sardines and octopus salad. Paired it with some wine. All was delicious and very reasonable prices.
Matthew S — Google review
Good experience. We saw this restaurant several times and decided to enter. The food is really nice, the service there is quick and they speak English. All the prices are really small compared to the quantity. There are several traditional dishes that are worth the shot. I highly recommend it. We ate well, the pasta is nice 👍

Lola Konoba & Bar

Mentioned on
+1 other list
$$$$expensive
Restaurant
Lola Konoba & Bar is a unique dining spot on the island, offering a fusion of flavors with a touch of Spain in its gourmet cuisine. The chef's experience living in Spain brings an authentic Spanish influence to the menu. The restaurant provides an exceptional garden setting for a delightful dining experience, complemented by excellent service and a selection of local wines. Guests rave about the flavorful dishes, such as salmon and hake prepared in different styles, and the outstanding cocktails and gin tonics.
Dining at Lola Konoba was truly a highlight of our trip to Vis. From the moment we arrived, the atmosphere was perfect, laid-back yet elegant, with a gorgeous garden setting and a vibe that captures the magic of the island. What really made the evening unforgettable was Daniela, our incredible host. She went above and beyond, offering thoughtful recommendations for drinks and dishes that turned out to be absolute hits. Every bite was delicious, fresh, and beautifully presented. On top of that, Daniela shared wonderful suggestions for places to explore around the island, including beaches (Silver Beach) and wine tours, helping us make the most of our time here. The central location made it easy to stop in during a walk around town, and we’re so glad we did. If you're visiting Vis, Lola Konoba is a must. A perfect combination of great food, warm hospitality, and island charm.
Fernando B — Google review
This restaurant is excellent, particularly the ambience and staff. We shared a few of the starters: the cuttlefish croquettes, the gnudi with ricotta and truffle and the roast pumpkin with spicy tahini mayo. All were amazing, but the pumpkin took the cake. The spice was just perfect. For the mains, I got the beef cheek. This was really tender and overall excellent, only issue was that some of the almonds were very bitter. Finally for dessert, we tried all of them: the carob cake, deconstructed lemon tart and the chocolate truffles. I wasn’t a fan of these to be honest - not worth the price!
Tsu N — Google review
MUST TRY 💎 Hidden garden gem with amazing drinks and food. The atmosphere is also super charming with great music. The service is friendly and overall this is the type of hidden gem anyone hopes to find! I came just for the experience so only had drinks and a snack but would love to come back for a full meal!

We had our wedding at Lola Konoba on Vis Island, and it was truly the most magical day of our lives. From the very start of planning to the moment the last song played on the day of our wedding, Puri and her husband were there for us every step of the way. They made everything feel easy and exciting, and nothing was ever too much to ask. Their kindness, care, and attention to detail went far beyond our expectations. On the day itself, the whole team created an atmosphere filled with love, warmth, and joy, everything we could have dreamed of and more. The food, the setting, the way we and our guests were looked after… it was all just perfect. We will forever be grateful to Puri, her husband, and the amazing staff at Lola for giving us memories we will cherish for a lifetime. I highly recommend you book Lola for an intimate wedding, and allow Puri the autonomy to design the venue based on your pintrest board because she is the most talented wedding designer I have ever come across… I will thank you for a lifetime

Absolutely stunning location! Very nice service and have great recommendations. Had a fantastic starter which was the cuttlefish croquettes followed by a beef cannelloni (could do with a bit more spice or extra flavor) and the grilled octopus (my favorite). We were then recommended the carob cake which was super tasty. Definitely recommend for the cute location, great service, and fantastic food!
Vedant M — Google review
The atmosphere is great in this restaurant. The service people are amazing and the food is delicious. And a fair warning, the portions are huge so share food, especially the antipasti. There were two of us and we took 2 antipasti and we were full by the time we got our main dishes. Overall I would highly recommend this place.

A truly pleasant experience in a stunning place. I had the challenge to organice a social event for 47 people for all the participants of the 2025 UX FLOTILLA Edition, and the Lola Konoba team leaded by Puri, set up a delicious meal for all of us. The atenttion was lovely, and each table were able to pay by card without any problem. Thanks very much to Puri and her team, keep going!!

Visiting Lola was a highlight of our trip to Vis in 2023, and when we returned this year, it was just as nice as our memories remembered. The setting is beautiful and was sheltered from the October evening breeze, the menu options were carefully selected and catered to different tastes, the food itself was delicious and generous portions, and the staff were friendly, knowledgeable and generous with their time. Would 10/10 recommend to anyone visiting, and a big thank you to the Lola team for their hard work!

Nestled in the charming island of Murter, between Šibenik and Zadar, Konoba Boba stands out as a culinary gem that every food lover should experience. This award-winning restaurant is celebrated for its exquisite Dalmatian cuisine, showcasing dishes crafted from the freshest local ingredients and traditional recipes. From mouthwatering risottos to delectable seafood spaghetti and tender lamb, each plate is a testament to the region's rich gastronomic heritage.
Absolutely fantastic. The place is beautiful, the staff were very knowledgeable, professional and friendly. We tried many dishes (a la carte) and every single dish was phenomenal, desserts were as good! The wine list was great and with some recommendations from the staff, we had an incredible experience and really lovely evening.
Lucie B — Google review
This was one of the most disappointing meals I’ve had in recent memory. The fact that this restaurant received a Michelin star is frankly embarrassing - the service, quality, ingredient pairings, and overall ambiance left much to be desired. The waiter was rude to us from the moment we walked in - asking us if we had a reservation as soon as the restaurant opened. We were the only table being served for the entire 2 hours we were there. Not a single other table was occupied and service was still inattentive, not filling up water quickly, not refolding napkins when using the bathroom. There were flies surrounding our table the entire time we were eating, which got quite irritating as the meal went on. I thought that the YouTube music (with ad breaks) playing from a laptop was pretty unprofessional for a Michelin star. Even the bathroom wasn’t very clean. Not a single course had that magical, unexpected flavor combination that deserved even a shoutout and worthy of a Michelin star. Instead, let me explain the issues I had with every dish: The oyster was large but tasted off putting. It may have been fresh, but no other oyster I’ve had has tasted quite like that in a bad way, it just had a poor aftertaste. Little did we know it was a reflection of what to come. The next dishes were a set consisting of a dry, almost stale pastry, a fish croquette, and the bruschetta with pesto. None were memorable, but the bruschetta was a good combination of flavors. The gazpacho with fresh fish had some potential but I didn’t find the flavors meshed together well as a single cohesive dish. Next dish was a light yogurt with sheep’s milk and fresh tuna topped with bonito flakes and dried cured egg yolks. I didn’t really care for this dish, it was a weird addition of Asian flavors that had a very one note texture. Next was the monkfish ravioli with a lobster based sauce, pine nuts, and pesto. Once again, the group didn’t care much for this dish. The ravioli was home made but I still expected the individual pasta to shine more. I didn’t like the sauce paired with the ravioli. After this was an octopus plated with two sauces. I liked the two sauces and thought they paired well with the octopus but this time, the octopus was very chewy and not tender, another disappointment and a clear tell tale sign it wasn’t cooked to perfection. The desserts were among the highlights of the meal, a pre dessert strawberry sorbet and a mascarpone cheese with olive oil, which was my favorite dish of the meal. One of the few upsides is that there was a large quantity of food served, we were convinced that the restaurant intentionally charged us the higher tasting menu price as we had far more than 5 courses (8 in total). But as they didn’t, we leave this review with 2 stars, disappointed that a local Croatian recommended this meal to us.
Sameet S — Google review
Visited on our first day in Murter, as a group of 6. The setting is beautiful but we went for lunch and it was pretty quiet. Menu was incredible and lots of gorgeous choices. We opted for a la carte rather than the tasting menu. The waiter was attentive but a little short in parts (which felt a little strange). Wine choices were great. Starters came pretty quickly but seemed to be on one platter and we couldn't figure out if this was a couvert or our starters as some of the items we hadn't asked for. However, the food was divine. Oysters were incredible!! We then unfortunately had an extra long wait for the main course, and we were starting to get a little frustrated as we'd seen other tables being served. When it did arrive it was excellent but the wait between starter & main was a little too long. I would recommend visiting if you're in Murter but maybe go for dinner or a later lunch.
Jane O — Google review
We went to Konoba Boba with a group of three to try their Tasting Menu. We were greeted by a friendly waiter who served us throughout the evening. Because we had the wine pairing the friendly sommelier brought us a variety of interesting wines from all of the croatian regions. The wine elevated the dishes and the knowledge he shared with us was very interesting. The different courses were very tasty and the major theme seafood. A friend of mine who is not very keen on seafood enjoyed and finished every dish. I particularly enjoyed the connection they made to their heritage. If I ever find myself in Murter again I'll definitely come back. Thanks to the service team and the kitchen!

Exquisite lady on front entrance made us intrigued to explore further more...and it turn up to be a slow food dinning extasy where we enjoyed remarkable plates, luxurious atmosphere and as a top on the cherry- group of experts in their field always with a smile ready to give each guest an unique experience. Mostly recommend and surely coming back.

I really like this place and I really enjoy coming back to it. It is always an interesting culinary adventure, new flavours of forms of serving. Unfortunately, during our last visit, the waiter was a bit chaotic. Nevertheless, I think the place deserves the highest rating, as it is a great showcase of Croatian cuisine.

We have been in this restaurant to check the chefs menu. We spend 4 hours of best wine and food pairing menu. Service was the best. Even the rain was for them not so kindly. We recommend it. It is quite expensive but if you have few hundred of euros free you have to go there. I’m still talking about chefs menu with vine pairing. There is option to have some meal la carte. Best of the Murter finedaining restaurant. Restaurant. Konoba. Whatever. Try it.

Uje Restaurant is nestled in a quiet corner of the Palace precinct, exuding a cozy farmhouse kitchen ambiance with its solid wooden furniture and shelves adorned with jars of preserves. The menu showcases traditional Dalmatian dishes like fish soups and bean-based meals, all prepared with locally sourced ingredients including olive oil. Additionally, the restaurant's bar doubles as a shop offering an array of Croatian olive oils and products.
Awesome food in a nice snug place in the old town. Wine and bread + olive oil were phenomenal, and basically every charcuterie combination was a win. Ice cream is a sleeper hit too.

Excellent oil-themed restaurant. The quality of the food was superb. We tried the octopus salad, white fish and the amazing seafood pasta. The ice cream with a touch of oil was amazing. The woman was very clisé and professional. They also offer wine-tasting.

Absolutely incredible dining experience in Split! We were able to handpick our fresh fish, which was baked to perfection. The wine selection was top-notch and paired beautifully with the meal. The ambience was stunning—elegant yet relaxed. A special shoutout to our waiter Ante, who was exceptionally helpful with his recommendations and made the entire evening even more memorable. Highly recommend for anyone looking for an authentic and elevated meal in Split!

Lovely place with the staff which was extremely pleasant and attentive, that made the whole experience even better. I ate meat and my friend chose fish and we both loved our meals! Desserts too, try rožata if you never did before! Prices Are reasonable!

We cannot rave enough about our wine tasting experience at Uje!!!! Marina’s knowledge, professionalism, and kindness did not go unnoticed. I’m gluten free, so she immediately ordered gluten free bread for myself so I could be included in the tasting. My friend is also vegetarian. Marina went out of her way to bring her tomatoes instead of prosciutto so she could taste certain notes in the red wine. We left feeling like Marina was our own Mama taking care of us!!! HIGHLY recommend as a must!!!!

We had the most amazing experience last night at Uje. Matëa was our server! She was so lovely and kind and made wonderful recommendations. 10/10!! We also purchased olive oil and salt from the store next door because it was just that good!!

Great good with passionate staff happy to give recommendations and very knowledgeable. Local produce, great quality and a great atmosphere. We managed to get a table but it’s worth reserving!

We enter the Uje Oil Bar today and we're treated horribly. My wife & I were deeply humiliated. We sat down at a table for two. There were a couple of empty tables that could fit 4 people. We said hi to the people seated near us and we were greeted with smiles. We waited approximately 10-15 minutes and a waiter/host came to our table who advised us we are not to sit there & we were instructed to leave. His tone & abusive actions were rude & mean. We were glad to depart this highly prejudice establishment. So sad that such a place exists in Split, Croatia. A hudge DISAPPOINTMENT. We do NOT recommend.

Café & Restaurant Lvxor Split

Restaurant
Café & Restaurant Lvxor Split is situated in a prime location, opposite the square's steps and near historic landmarks such as Diocletian's Mausoleum and the Cathedral of St. Domnius. The bar is rumored to be one of the oldest in the city and takes its name from Luxor, Egypt. Its setting amidst palace pillars, ancient Egyptian sphinxes, and Roman-gothic columns creates an impressive ambiance.
It is absolutely unique restaurant specially in the evening. It is just outside Diokecijanove palace. It looked like like a Roman courtyard. In the evening they put pillows on the steps opposite restaurant. The big ancient pillars behind add to it's beauty. The food, service, weather and ambience was just too good. A great place for people watch while sipping your wine. It is little expensive but it deserves it. When you are in Split an evening meal should be a must in this beautiful restaurant.

We had such an incredible experience at Lvxor in Split! Tucked right in the heart of Diocletian’s Palace, the setting is absolutely magical, but what really stood out was the food and service. We ordered both pizza and pasta, and they were honestly some of the best we’ve ever had—fresh, flavorful, and perfectly prepared. The staff made the evening even better. They were warm, attentive, and went above and beyond to make us feel welcome without ever being intrusive. It’s rare to find a place that delivers equally on atmosphere, food, and service, but Lvxor does it flawlessly. If you’re in Split and want an unforgettable meal, this is the spot. We’ll definitely be back!

Unbeatable location near palace. Seats on cushions overlooking courtyard but we elected to sit inside in lovely airy two story room. Brunched on scrambled eggs on guacamole which was spicy and delicious although unrecognizable to someone from Oaxaca. Service good. Very relaxing way to start the day.

After a long day of walking around Split, we were tired and just wanted to stop for a beer before heading back to our hotel. We remembered this restaurant across from the cathedral, so we decided to give it a try. We ordered a beer, but ended up ordering a pizza as well—and it turned out to be incredibly delicious. We finished with a wonderful dessert that was just as amazing. The service was great, and the place itself is charming. It was a perfect way to relax after a busy day. Highly recommend!

We had the most magical evening at this restaurant. The atmosphere was truly beautiful — live music filled the air, people were dancing outside, and the location couldn’t be more perfect, with a stunning view that made everything feel cinematic. The food was excellent: beautifully presented and absolutely delicious. Our waiter, Krešo, was incredibly kind and attentive, making the whole experience even more special. Everyone we interacted with was warm and welcoming, which added to the charm of the night. It honestly felt like stepping into a movie — full of nostalgia, joy, and connection. An unforgettable evening, and a place we can’t wait to come back to.

This restauran (restaurant to my friends) has the glorious atmosphere of a castle with walls of ancient stone. The service is impeccable. They could not do enough to accommodate our tastes; I requested a small mixed salad, off menu, and a most delicious well appointed rather large salad appeared. The Teramisu was outstanding. The pasta with an octopus ragu, outrageous. And there is live music playing an unending assortment of American music (yeah, I know) in the plaza at the door. A perfect, late night Sunday dinner.

We had breakfast vouchers from the hotel we stayed at. At the restaurant, we were given a set menu that could be used to order breakfast using the vouchers. All 3 options include coffee or tea and orange juice. All 3 options are not vegetarian. I asked our server if they could skip the salmon and add more vegetables to my option. Our server was nice enough to work with the chef and make me a vegetarian option. I was pleasantly surprised that they were so accommodating! My breakfast was lovely and I got a great start to explore Split.

This a must-visit restaurant in Split. It’s right by the Dioclesian Palace which made us nervous it would be a tourist trap but it turned out to be the best meal of our Croatian adventure. Fabulous food, delicious wine, a lovely setting and attentive and helpful staff. Highly highly recommend!

Restaurant
Nestled in the enchanting alleys of Dubrovnik's Old Town, Marco Polo Restaurant is a hidden gem that beckons food lovers with its warm and inviting ambiance. This charming eatery specializes in Mediterranean cuisine, showcasing an impressive array of seafood and gourmet meats crafted from fresh local ingredients. The menu reflects a delightful blend of traditional Dalmatian dishes infused with international flair, all while emphasizing seasonal produce.
It’s a really popular restaurant—we had to wait until 9 PM to get a table. The octopus appetizer was super creative. I’d never thought of slicing octopus that thin before, and the combination with olive oil and spicy tomato oil was full of flavor. The truffle pasta with shrimp was also really tasty. But the highlight was definitely the pork belly—it’s basically just thick-cut pork, but pairing it with pumpkin sauce was unexpected and surprisingly good.
Yoli S — Google review
While this restaurant may be more on the pricey side for some, the food was incredible. Complimentary warm pumpkin soup drinks to start, along with bread. We had the goats cheese bread and baked cannelloni to start with, and the flavours were amazing. I then had the steak which was perfectly cooked to my liking and also had amazing flavours! Some of the best food I have ever had. And cant go without complimenting the staff for their knowledge of food and lovely service! Would recommend booking too

Excellent peaceful haven in the heart of the Old Town. Not cheap, but what is in Dubrovnik??? It is great value in that the quality of the food, the service and the ambience bring the dining experience to a higher level. Mali Ston oysters are superb, and we enjoyed crab salad, lamb shanks and Kubla Khan steak. Tender and juicy. Accompanied by some local reds which are excellent. Couldn’t resist the lemon tart and pistachio cheesecake, a deconstructed dessert with raspberry compote to balance the flavour of the pistachio. An excellent meal!!

A Truly Exceptional Dining Experience at Marco Polo Cuisine. We had an incredible evening at Marco Polo Cuisine! From start to finish, everything was top-notch. Our server Kenan made the experience outstanding - his recommendations were absolutely perfect. We started with fresh Ostrea Edulis oysters and a blue crab cannoli salad, both bursting with flavor and beautifully presented. Truffle shrimp pasta and For our mains, we enjoyed a perfectly cooked medium-rare steak and a sesame-crusted tuna that was seared to perfection and full of texture and taste. To finish, we shared the pistachio raspberry cheesecake, which was rich, creamy, and perfectly balanced — made even better with the amazing dessert wine Kenan paired for us. Every detail, from the food to the service, was thoughtfully executed. Highly recommend Marco Polo Cuisine for anyone looking for a refined, memorable meal with exceptional service. We'll definitely be back!

Whilst on our visit to the old town in Dubrovnik we discovered this Michelin rated restaurant. Luckily amongst all the reserved tables they found us a table for two in the courtyard. We enjoyed a local Rose wine and settled in to enjoy our meal. Starting with an amuse bouche of roasted tomato soup. Really nice. This was followed by our main meal which started with a sumptuous bruschetta adorned not just with tomato's but prosciutto ham, olives and a peach jam. Delicious. Then my wife had a seafood pasta dish and I had a variety of seafood in tempura batter. Very crisp, unctuous and full of well cooked fresh seafood. The service was first class and its fair to say we thoroughly enjoyed our meal and our discovery of ' Marco Polo'. The 4 rating on atmosphere was due to the fact we were the only diners to start with.

As soon as my boyfriend and I arrived, they saw how freezing I am and one of the staff blasted the heating which I believe was very sweet. The menu wasn't very big so it wasn't difficult to pick the food out of it. Our waiter, Miki (hopefully I didn't butcher his name), was so attentive and providing us the information that we need. Then comes the wine which my partner ordered Dingac-Matusco, the BEST wine I have ever tasted in my life. We also ordered the arancini which was so nice and well-seasoned. My partner ordered the lamb which I love as it was very tender and flavourful and he loved my order duck breast. I am particularly just not into the food being seasoned with salt but otherwise didn't really ruin the whole experience. The onions which I don't normally like has just become the star of my plate. Then, finally the pistachio cheesecake which was a dream for me as I really love pistachio and it was creamy and not overly sweet. Thank you for a very pleasant experience Marco Polo and we are looking forward to seeing you again on out next trip to Dubrovnik.
Allysa P — Google review
We had dinner at Marco Polo on our first night in Dubrovnik, and it completely exceeded our expectations. From start to finish, the experience was outstanding. We began with the baked goat cheese, which was incredibly flavorful—garlicky, perfectly roasted, and simply delicious. For our mains, we split the monkfish Wellington and the lamb dish, and honestly couldn’t pick a favorite. Both were cooked to perfection, bursting with flavor, and offered such a thoughtful mix of textures and taste profiles. We ended the night with a lemon tart that struck the perfect balance of tangy and sweet, paired beautifully with a glass of Croatian white wine. The service was exceptional—Kenan was friendly, knowledgeable, and made us feel truly welcome. His descriptions of each dish added to the experience and made our selections even more enjoyable. The setting on the quiet, intimate patio made everything even better. It was cool, calm, and just what we needed after a long travel day. Highly recommend Marco Polo for anyone visiting Dubrovnik. A perfect blend of ambiance, service, and food.

Transportation in Central Croatia

Getting around Central Croatia can be a little daunting if you’re new here. We can help list some of the major public transportation methods if you don’t want to rely on a car.

Franjo Tuđman International Airport Zagreb

International airport
Airport
Franjo Tuđman International Airport Zagreb is the main airport serving Zagreb and its surrounding region. It offers convenient transportation options, including a bus service that runs into the city center every 30 minutes. While Croatia is often associated with its beautiful beaches, Zagreb boasts a rich cultural scene with numerous museums and historic landmarks. The city's Old Town features charming cobbled streets and medieval churches, while the New Town showcases a blend of architectural styles housing trendy cafes and gourmet restaurants.
I only arrived at Zagreb Airport (didn’t fly out), but from my experience, I was really impressed. The place is very clean, modern, and decently new, and when you’re about to exit, it actually feels pretty majestic—the ceiling is huge, like easily 10 meters high, and it gives the whole space a spacious, airy vibe that left a strong impression on me. The signage was clear, and the path from the arrivals area to getting outside and heading toward the city was very straightforward. I didn’t need to deal with security or boarding, so I can’t speak to that part of the experience, but as an arriving passenger, I had zero complaints. The bathrooms were on the cleaner side (even if there weren’t many), and overall, the airport just looked sleek and well maintained. Based on my limited but smooth and positive experience, I’d give it 5 stars.

The food was expensive and not great. €30 for 2 cheeseburger and fries and then had to pay a further €1 per ketchup sachet. Everything else was expensive, even supposed Duty Free! €25 for Kinder Buenos!!?? It was a small airport and the staff were friendly and it was painless apart from the expense and lacking food quality. Croatians are lovely people in general too so I gave it 3 stars in total. I probably should give it 4 stars because of the people, but the shocking food doesn’t allow me to.

having spent two full nights at this airport, i feel like i know it well enough to make a fair review. before and after security, the experience is totally different. unfortunately for me, i spent way more time before security. the airport is small and there’s not a lot of space to sit, plus the seats are really uncomfortable to spend the night on. i just ended up sitting on the floor near the restrooms because it was the only place i could find a plug to charge my phone. be warned: only a few of the plugs in this area actually work. going through security is a very smooth process, and after that, the airport changes. there’s a water fountain to fill up your water bottle as soon as you pass security. near the gates, there’s plenty of space, and the seats are 100 times more comfortable, with working plugs right next to them.
Elena M — Google review
We depart from Zagreb airport to Turkey, the whole process from check in to clearance was very fast and efficient. Airport looks very new and clean. Saturday morning 7:30am, we arrived 2 hours prior to flight departure, check in at counter took us 10mins with minimum crowd. Security clearance was only 5mins. Still got lots of spare time.
J — Google review
Prices are much higher than the stores in town. Regardless, easy to get any croatia food/souvenirs at the airport before flying off. A water dispenser is available after bag checks and before heading to duty free shops.
Rise&Shine — Google review
The airport isn't large, but it's quite clean. In the check-in area, there's a coffee shop with a selection of pastries, a luggage shop, and a convenience store with a good selection of souvenirs. Two things I regret: First, there's NO LUGGAGE WRAPPING service here. Second, there's only one customs tax refund officer, and he's very slow, as he doesn't realy know his job, which leads to long queues. The check-in and immigration process upon arrival and departure is quite smooth. Towards the gate, there's a duty-free shop, a fashion shop, and two or three dining options.
Putih S — Google review
Small airport, good that you can arrive with public transportation from the city center. The checking of the lugagge is pretty quick so you pass fast to the door of the plane. The only thing there is not big option to grab something while you wait for the plane.
Miriam G — Google review
The building looks modern and sleek. That's the only upside to this airport. Otherwise there is no clear signage as to where your airline counter is nor any assistance available to ask. After searching for awhile we finally found the one small sign marking the Star Alliance Airlines check in. Security was a disaster requiring me to put my passport into a bin by itself, with nothing else in the bin. They then sent the passport into secondary screening where they swabbed the passport for the great danger it seemed to pose. Hahaha. Really!? Once we got to the other side the premier lounge was filthy with dirty dishes everywhere. Given the uncleanliness of the lounge we skipped having any food for fear of getting sick. Boarding of the plane was a disaster. Despite having two distinct lanes for first class and economy they let everyone stampede forward at once with no organization at all. The staff overall was cold and unfriendly. I've traveled through airports around the world and this one wins the prize for absolute worst. Truly an airport I hope to never have to set foot in again. A real disaster.
