Food was amazing.. Oh Lord, I haven't tasted such amazing Ribs since my trip to Cape Town 3 year's ago.. Service was Exceptional, Waiter Ludwe very welcoming and helpful, Recommended Sticky Pork Bowl which was also Out of this World.. Definitely coming back, Would recommend any day.. Love the Atmosphere and Tranquility they Offer.. 5/5 deserves a 10 🥺

We had such a lovely supper this evening. We celebrated our wedding anniversary at Sanook in Berea, and our waitress just made everything extra special. She truly went above and beyond for us and even made us a special little anniversary shooter. Thank you so much for making our day even more special - you are one in a million and the love you have for people truly shines through. We will always return to Sanook!

I am awaiting a response from the owner via email regarding details of our experience yesterday. Update: I had a call from Alex and what a lovely human. You have handled yourself impeccably in response to my email. Mistakes happen but how it's managed is what will get me to go back or not. I highly recommend Sanook Cafe and have upgraded them to 5 star. Thank you Alex for your professional approach.

Sanook Cafe is centrally located in Berea. Perfect for work lunches or evenings out for dinner. The menu is amazing and there is no meal that ever disappoints. The staff are so friendly and professional.
Christel — Google review
The outside doesn’t do the inside any justice, the ambiance and vibe is nice, the food is well presented and tastes good however the service is extremely slow, once we ordered it was at least 30mins before anyone came to our table to check in on us and if they knew it takes awhile for the pizzas to get done, we could have been given the option to receive the other meals first since our pizza was not a main and wanted to try it because we heard good things about it. The inside is very hot and the tables are quite close to each other so it can be quite noisy depending on your neighbours
Alisha M — Google review
This place needs an upgrade. Looks tired and not as clean and fresh as before. Feels like some of the passion has been lost. El doesn't have much to offer, so people think it's a great place, but it can do better.
Claire — Google review
Nice ambience and friendly staff. Though the burger falls short of my expectation but I think its cos of what I ordered... The waiters were very friendly and professional but I think it will be much better if a waiter is assigned to a certain number of customers at a time. The idea of being served by random waiter is not nice; It causes delay and also confusion on whom to tip... Overall its a nice place and will love to visit again for me to give a final verdict on their burger...

We came for lunch on Saturday. Excellent service, lovely tasty food and good drinks selection. Highly recommend.

De Kelder Restaurant Port Elizabeth

Restaurant
De Kelder Restaurant in Port Elizabeth offers a perfect balance of quality and price, making it a top choice for dining. The menu features unique and delicious starters like kataifi prawns and a daring trio of warthog, springbok, and crocodile carpaccio. For mains, the crayfish thermidor and seafood extravaganza are standout dishes. The restaurant also boasts an extensive wine selection.
This has to be the best restaurant in PE if it blows most top restaurant in Cape Town away. Never had such succulent beef fillet before. The berry pavlova is top dessert choice too! Would highly recommend a visit!
Robin K — Google review
Amazing option for a nice dinner in Port Elizabeth. The food was great - both the Springbock and the Kudu. Dessert was also on point. You also have to try their bread with a garlic butter, courtesy of the house. Great service by Lwazi - very polite and attentive.
Fábio A — Google review
Absolutely incredible experience. Wonderful and attentive service. The food was delicious. I had the venison duo and my husband had the seafood treasure. We really enjoyed connecting with all the people here. Highly recommend.
Julie N — Google review
Good. Its 4. What was awesome was fresh rock oysters. And the real garlic snails as starter. What lacked was the bar. Old Fashion far away what it is. Starter. Prawns in cheese and crunb. Guys. Think about it. But mains amazing good. That would be a 7 star for the service. From the reception lady to our waiter Ben. Ben took feedback and gave recommendation. Rare to find. If the kitchen would hold up the standard of this amazing service over 4 hours I would give all. But still. Highly recommend for PE.
Cape J — Google review
We are in port Elizabeth for just one night ready to start the garden route. Went for a walk to find somewhere for dinner, and stumbled on to De Kelder. Location is great and decor nice. Cannot speak highly enough of our lovely server Natasha. She was so kind and friendly and recommended dishes not on the main menu- the octopus starter is single handedly the best octopus we have ever had! The steak my husband had was delicious and my prawn dish was fantastic- Tash recommended to combine the 3 sauces into one and it was amazing! Wish we had more time in PE to come back- it’s well worth it!
Rachel C — Google review
Now this is a place you just HAVE to visit- friendly staff, beautiful location , expensive but for what you get , reasonable prices. My wife loves her chops, I love my T-bone- the food is always done to perfection and the little loaf of hot bread at the beginning just makes one linger for the next course! Highly recommended and for us, many many for do-overs!!
Gavin A — Google review
Absolutely excellent. The service is supreme. I was thoughorly impressed my my bone marrow steak. The carpaccio was amazing, the crocodile, springbok and warthog. The atmosphere is light and modern. In and outdoor seating is available. I would fully recommend this restaurant no matter what you feel in the mood to eat. Top notch. Love it and will regularly go back.
Jayson B — Google review
De Kelder exceeded all expectations! The Carpenter was expertly prepared, fresh, and full of flavor, perfectly complemented by a crisp, refreshing Ataraxia Chardonnay 2023. A special thanks to Michelle, who made the experience even more enjoyable with her warm and attentive service. Highly recommended!

Ginger The Restaurant

Mentioned on
3 lists

Fine dining restaurant
Ginger The Restaurant is a beachfront eatery in Port Elizabeth with a fine-dining menu influenced by Cape flavors. The restaurant features an open kitchen and a terrace, offering an airy ambiance for diners. Their inventive starters include dishes like salmon cured with chamomile and beetroot-and-chocolate risotto.
I have never received such incredible service before. The waiters are well trained, respectful and dressed in uniform. The atmosphere is so elegant and relaxing. There is outdoor and indoor seating that overlooks the ocean. Tables are dressed with candles, flowers, tablecloths and all the cutlery you need. The menu is unique and adventurous. Starters all range from R140 but they are so worth it. You get complimentary sides while you wait in between courses. I ordered the lamb shank which was a bit salty but the sauce and vegetables were incredibly delicious. Our dessert was also amazing and looked like it had been sculpted by an artist. In fact, Every course was beautiful and artistic. The drinks are divine and dressed with edible flowers. Our total for the evening was R1500 and it was worth every penny. We sat for about 3 hours and I enjoyed every minute of it. You must go here!! This might just be the best restaurant I've ever been to.

Ginger Restaurant offers a truly delightful dining experience, boasting an excellent culinary offering and a charming atmosphere that sets the stage for a memorable evening. The food at Ginger is, in a word, great. Each dish we sampled was expertly prepared and presented, showcasing a clear commitment to quality and flavor. From the perfectly cooked main courses to the accompaniments, the kitchen truly delivers a fantastic gastronomic experience that is sure to please even the most discerning palates. Beyond the delicious food, the atmosphere was lovely. The ambiance is sophisticated yet inviting, creating a comfortable and elegant setting perfect for a special occasion or an enjoyable night out. The lighting, decor, and overall feel contribute significantly to the positive dining experience. However, while the food and atmosphere excelled, the service left a little to be desired for a restaurant of this caliber. For an establishment aiming for a luxurious experience, some basic elements were surprisingly absent. Upon arrival, I was surprised to find a self-opening door; one would expect a restaurant of Ginger's standing to have a doorman or hostess to greet guests and open the door. Furthermore, once the bill was presented and paid, our waiter seemed to vanish, making it difficult to receive further assistance or a proper farewell. These seemingly minor details can significantly impact the overall perception of a high-end dining establishment. In conclusion, Ginger shines brightly with its exceptional food and beautiful atmosphere. It's a place where you can expect to enjoy truly delicious cuisine in a wonderful setting. Should they refine their service to match the otherwise high standards of the restaurant, Ginger would undoubtedly be an unparalleled dining destination.

The prawn pasta was amazing and tasty and the portion was actually good. The staff were very friendly and helped me with their recommendation for lunch. One of the best restaurant in PE.

All around a good experience. Worth planning to go there because a bottle of water is R70 lol. Amazing service and great menu. Makes it hard to choose because everything looks delicious.

The very same moment I was mentioning tips in my bill my glass with the beer suddenly disappeared. I'm shocked, but okay.... Be careful with your drinks while eating here)) Food was okay, the atmosphere was great.

Happy to give 5 stars across the board! After a disappointing experience the night before (elsewhere), we found this gem! From the moment we got there, our needs were anticipated and we were treated like VIPs. The menu is amazing, and our craving for good fish was definitely quenched! Lovely for date night or just a treat!
Sue-Ann G — Google review
I’d definitely give this place a miss. When I arrived, I was greeted by an extremely rude security guard at the boom gate, but I decided to carry on, looking forward to trying a new restaurant. When I asked for a table for two, I was told, “Sorry, we’re fully booked.” As you can see from my photo, the place was completely empty.
Matthew M — Google review
I really wish I had a chance to eat here again, but that one time was memorable. The food was just top notch and the classic aesthetic inside was a lovely mood setter. In short, great place for couples although I was there with a group. I had the risotto starter followed by the grilled salmon. Top notch to the extent of asking to thank the chef in person. Keep it up!

My number one spot for a special occasion. The food is out of this world and the atmosphere and service are amazing. The prices are a bit high but I feel it's worth it considering the excellent service and vibe you get. It's not just about going out for a meal but also going out for a whole experience. I specifically also love the variety foods. It doesn't feel like the food options are limited - even for someone that's a picky eater.
Sonique G — Google review
The atmosphere was absolutely amazing, the restaurant is on the beach front, so the views are amazing. The service was excellent. The food was good, but I feel like it's a bit overpriced, I might be wrong, but that's just my opinion .
Siphe C — Google review
Food was so good that I came back here the following day for supper. Nestled next to sea lies this restaurant which has so much to offer. This 1st night there I ordered the fillet steak with camembert and had the creme brulee for dessert. Drinks I had old fashioned cocktail which was delicious. The following day had the prawn parcels followed by the rack of lamb (cooked to perfection and the perfect crust on the lamb). I would drive back to East London just for that rack of lamb. Service was alright, not the greatest but could be better. Manager did come and check in on me to make sure all is fine. Would I return, yes I would.
Calvin R — Google review
The food was really exceptional, fresh and tasty. The view outdoor is amazing.

What a posh place to go to. Had supper with colleagues and was blown away by the food. Everyone had their own dish from starters up to dessert and all of us shared some of our food because we wanted the others to experience the same taste bud explosion that was absolutely delicious. Definitely recommend this place and will go visit again if I m in East London again.

Food? Amazing! Service? Amazing! Atmosphere? Amazing! I actually can't wait to visit again.
Sandile N — Google review
Ordered a Dutch Fillet, but was served a piece of trimmed rump instead (there was still a nice piece of fat on it, which I've never seen on a fillet steak). If I wanted a rump steak, I would have ordered it. In the end, it was the chef's word against mine, and was offered a dessert as compensation.

Restaurant
Nestled away from the hustle and bustle of city life, Sanook Eatery is a delightful addition to East London's dining scene. This charming venue offers a warm and cozy atmosphere, making it an ideal spot for families with older children or anyone looking to enjoy a meal in comfort. The menu boasts an impressive array of options, from mouthwatering pizzas and gourmet burgers to more refined dishes like dukkah-crusted fillet and biltong-spiced sirloin steak.
The pasta's we're delicious. The service was great. The best part about our experience was the value. High quality ingredients and great value for money. Overall still one of the few good restaurants left in East London. Definitely worth booking for the dinner run.
Edward C — Google review
Food was lovely. Had a caveman pizza and a stukkie Proe. Service was slow but it is very busy. Definitely make a booking. Very hot- no aircon( so when making a booking ask for it to be close to the window) . Bathrooms were dirty- but it is because it was so busy. Waited long for a cooldrink because there were no more glasses for them to use( because it was busy) . A bit expensive but i would say you pay for what you get. Everyone is very friendly.

I enjoyed myself there with my siblings. We had good food and the view is also not bad .

If you're in the mood for Mexican food then this is the place to be. There is a wide selection of Mexican style dishes that will satisfy most cravings. Large selection of drinks too, hot, cold, alcoholic and non. The food is delicious! Attention to detail in the food can be seen. The Seared Tuna tacos is a must try. The decor compliments the space to add to a great atmosphere whether you're on a date or eating with friends, it's a very relaxing vibe. The service is great and food came out fairly quick. Will definitely be back.
John T — Google review
It's always promising when you are greeted friendly and with enthusiasm at a restaurant's door ... as it was at Sanook! The food was delicious and so beautifully presented. Our waiter, Ronald was great ... he made sure we had all we needed, without being a nuisance! We will definitely going back there again!
Corna ( — Google review
It was my birthday on 28 August and they accommodated me last minute which I was very grateful for. Our waiter provided us with fantastic service, he was really on point. Our drinks were delicious and even though it was busy and we were a table of 6 they really did a great job as we did not have to wait long for our cocktails. The only issue I have is that my Aunt and I ordered the prawn dish. The waiter claimed they were King prawns but they were not. Our prawns were first under cooked and after we sent them back we got them back over cooked, burnt shell and dry with no flavor. The prawns are not good value for money in terms of the potion and I don't recommend ordering them. If they were King prawns it would be better value for money.

Die Walskipper

Restaurant
Die Walskipper is a charming beachfront restaurant in Jeffreys Bay that offers a delightful dining experience. Guests can indulge in a variety of delectable dishes, including shellfish platters featuring mussels, abalone, oysters, prawns, langoustines, and scallops. The rustic wooden furniture and flickering lanterns create a cozy atmosphere while the sound of waves adds to the ambiance. The restaurant provides indoor and outdoor seating with stunning ocean views.
Rustic, feet-in-the-sand charm and Great Food Die Walskipper offers a wonderfully relaxed, no-frills dining experience right on the beach, literally with your feet in the sand. While some say it may have been even better in the past, we found it to be a fantastic spot with a beautiful oceanfront setting and a diverse menu that caters to all tastes. Don’t let the drive there fool you. You pass through a few neighborhoods that might leave you wondering if you're headed in the right direction, but trust the navigation! At the end, you’ll discover a gem of a restaurant that’s well worth it. The setting is rustic and informal in the best possible way. A place to unwind, sip a local wine, and enjoy a lazy lunch to the sound of the waves. We loved the peri-peri livers and bone marrow starters, and the fish and chips were excellent. All fresh, tasty, and satisfying. A truly memorable experience and a must-visit if you're in the area. We’ll definitely be back!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 5/5 – What an amazing experience! We attended a wedding at The Walskipper and it was absolutely awesome! Dear Michelle & team. What an amazing early dinner we had at your restaurant! From the warm welcome to the menu, our awesome food and atmosphere. Compliments to the chef, best hake and calamari I've tasted in a long time! The chicken was also well prepared, however, the pepper sauce lacked thickness. Thank you for entertaining us and making it an everlasting experience. We will be back soon.
Veronica S — Google review
I booked Die Walskipper months before we travelled to SA, simply because I consider it one of the best spots to dine. But there was a difference this time: though they no longer serve abalone, the restaurant had a facelift and offered a really cosy setting while you sit with your feet in the sand. The view? Unbeatable. The food? Excellent. The service? Like family.

We spent the afternoon joining you guys and I must say what an amazing little spot on the beach. The atmosphere as soon as we arrived was very warm and cozy and all the decorations around make it look really cool The service from Marissa was top tier and done with a smile the whole time!! Not to mention how quickly everyone and everything moves, we didn’t spend much time waiting for the items we ordered and when it arrived we were all blown away with the quality and quantity

The day was a tad windy, so we opted for under roof seating with the sides dropped.Feet in the sand at our table made even more memorable. We ordered a seafood platter for 2,we could have fed 4 adults from that platter 😁 just glad it was only the 2 of us. Wow wow and wow again the crayfish tail was perfect as was the 8 large prawns and the mussels, squid heads and the kabeljou on a bed of rice with plenty of garlic butter and lemon butter as well, im a good eater but that platter beat me. Was pricey but hell you only go on honeymoon once so make it count and it was well spent money we could not get over all those wonderful tastes. Well done to the chef for preparing that dish for us

Stylish and upmarket. Plenty of safe, free parking outside. Toilets/ restroom is spotless and Stylish. Fancy food if you want to impress your goose. People was friendly and there was plenty of space. Please watch out for the steps when you leave the restaurant, as you may be looking ahead and not notice.

Easily one of the best fine dining spots in PE. Customer service is top notch-I love how the chef (Allen) delivers your food in-person, and ensures that he makes contact with every customer in the restaurant, in someway, in your dining experience. The menu is concise, but still covers grounds, in terms of options - such that you don't feel overwhelmed by the multitude of options to have to narrow down from. Yet, the dishes are sophisticatedly put together, from the flavour profiles, to the presentations. I also, loved that the chef was able to accomodate my dietary requirements, while still keeping my dish exciting. The staff are professional and the food is decently priced for such a fine dining experience. I highly recommend this spot, but note you need to make reservations in good time, to secure a table(it's a small cosy spot-I guess intentionally so, that gives you a feeling of having an exclusive experience). Totally worth every penny.
Aminu M — Google review
We had an absolutely wonderful dining experience at Muse! The atmosphere was inviting and beautifully curated, and the service was friendly and attentive from start to finish. Although the vegan and gluten-free options are limited, every single dish we had was exceptional - thoughtfully prepared, beautifully plated, and bursting with flavor. From vibrant starters to hearty mains, the quality and creativity truly exceeded our expectations. It’s clear that a lot of care goes into catering for all dietary needs. Highly recommended for anyone looking for an elevated and inclusive dining experience. We’ll definitely be back! A special thanks to the head chef and owner Alan - his warmth, passion, and deep knowledge were evident in every dish. It was a pleasure to meet someone so genuinely invested in creating a memorable experience.

Absolutely blown away by the chef’s talent. I can confidently say that Muse offers one of the most mind-blowing culinary experiences I have ever had. The depth and balance of flavour are truly exceptional, and the plating is nothing short of artistic mastery. It’s a proud moment to witness a restaurant of this calibre in PE. Front house, your service was phenomenal and I absolutely adore how down to earth everyone is. Congratulations to the entire team—this truly deserves a standing ovation.

The warm and inviting interior features cozy booths and bright windows, creating a vibrant atmosphere perfect for enjoying authentic South African cuisine.
Wow what a lekker vibe. If I stayed in P.E I would have breakfast here all the time. Its beach front and very relaxing tropical/surfer setting. Service was good, but food is another point where I am impressed. I had the large breakfast burger, and though the patty was a bit over cooked the meal itself was excellent regardless. A very hearty breakfast. The Americano was decent too. See next time

Good place for breakfast especially if you want a place for kids to play. Large outdoor area with a trampoline and jumping castle. The eggs benedict is good and have a variety of hit drinks and many milkshakes. There is a large parking lot.

Something good is an old style roadhouse which is a rarity in modern times. It is on the beach front and has indoor seating with a good view of the sea and a “pedal go-cart” track to keep the kids busy. We arrived a little late for breakfast so not all menu items were available but the breakfast burger was, which I ordered, and it was delicious.

I can’t say enough wonderful things about this place! Not only was the food absolutely delicious, but the staff went above and beyond to make sure both I and my dogs felt welcome. It’s not always easy to find a restaurant that is truly dog-friendly, but they were so kind, attentive, and accommodating. My pups were treated like special guests and loved every minute of it. The atmosphere was warm and inviting, and you can tell the people here genuinely care about their customers (both human and furry!). I left feeling happy, full, and so grateful for the experience. We’ll definitely be back soon! 🐾❤️

Great views from outdoor section. Seafood platter was very good except for the raw prawns that were sent back. Totally tasteless, overcooked and oily on their return. Service was really poor, yes the establishment was busy. They showed us to the bar to wait for a table and then forgot us. After 30 minutes at bar I interrupted a barman just to get us drinks. They announced our names outside when a table came free!!!! We had to again go up to someone to get a table. "Sorry, I forgot you were at the bar but I did call your name outside" was the excuse. Outside again we had to call for a waiter to serve us after some 15 minutes.

Amazing food. The Bar inside is neat and the atmosphere great. If it's too windy inside is a good spot to spend a great meal and there is a lot of play space for kids. Food options are available and they also have this amazing ice-cream store just outside. Close to the beach so you can just hop straight to the ocean before or after your meal

I liked being here. Clean, neat, and organized. I had a small issue with hot water on the first morning of my stay. However, this was resolved quickly and efficiently. However, I am not the first to have experienced this problem, based on other reviews on Booking.com, which I only saw sometime after our stay at this hotel. All staff were generally professional and helpful. There was fair attention to detail in most things. I appreciated the manner in which rooms were cleaned during our breakfast session so that one could be free to remain in the room if one wished to do so. Towel changes daily. The check-in and check out process were easy, and an on the go breakfast snack was available even though we checked out before 6 am. The location was ideal, right across the beach, and next to the Boardwalk Mall. What I did not like was having the same breakfast every day. Being vegetarian, my choice from the warm food section was: Day 1: Baked beans, mushrooms, potatoes (all placed next to meat options) Day 2: Mushrooms only ( placed next to some meat sausages) Day 3: Mushrooms only (placed adjacent to fish) Day 4: Baked beans & Mushrooms. (Both placed next to fish and/or sausage) This is a time when people follow very varied diets, and the options, and layout for especially the hot foods, leaves a lot to be desired. As there was always possibility for the wrong spoons to be used in the wrong food, since the spoons for meat and vegetable foods were right next to each other. I would strongly recommend that the breakfast team re-think their plan in terms of how foods are laid out so that vegetarians and vegans can be catered to as well. And how about more protein options for vegetarians? For the price paid, our food options were quite limited for the "complimentary" breakfast, which by the way, is definitely paid for by us. Also, there are no smart tvs (as per that found in my room) -- not the best channels for a holiday, and no option to sign into Netflix or Prime as the TV is old style. The tea station in room also left a lot to be desired. Only 2 milk pods per day per 2 people. Otherwise, I had a decent enough stay. We will probably visit again in future to see if they are serious about improving their services. For those who have a vegan/vegetarian/Halaal diet, best to enquire before booking to see if they are able to provide for your diet. It makes no sense to pay for a complimentary breakfast that does not allow you to actually eat what you have already clearly paid for.

I recently had the pleasure of staying at the beach hotel in PE. My room was comfortable with breathtaking views. Considering the fact that the hotel has been around for over a century, it is well maintained. The food at the Verandah restaurant was amazing. Location is key and this hotel hits the nail on the head for their spectacular location. Overall, amazing hotel, worth the stay.

My mother is 70 years old, walks with a cane and is due to have knee replacements in 2 weeks time. We have just arrived at the hotel and found only 2 people and a manager on duty who was nowhere to be seen. We arrived at reception after climbing a dlight of stairs. They do not even have a ramp for for people with ambulatory problems to get to reception. Upon arriving at reception we waited neigh on 20 minutes for them to assist us only to provide us with rooms upstairs and they do not even have a lift. After seeing my mother struggle with a cane to get to reception they do not even offer to change her room to a ground floor room until I insisted. This then took an additional 15 minutes. As I was carrying my own bag and now going upstairs and she to her hard won ground floor room, there was no one to help with her bags. After complaining about the shocking service to the finally arrived manager he just looks at me like a deer in spot lights. Eventually he offered to assist my mother with her luggage. 1 hour in this hotel, 16 more before heading back out onto the road and already regretting the choice. Unfortunately payment was made before we arrived and as it is already late we have decided to stay.

The onion ring starter was the most disgusting dish I have eaten with loose floppy batter around one onion ring which all tasted of old calamari/seafood. The main dish of two medallions of fillet steak turned out to be two thin slices. The Stirfry and the salad was equally bland. The breakfast was ok. If the food improves I'll go back or eat elsewhere if I stay there again.

Small hotel located accross the Hobie beach and adjacent to the Boardwalk mall. Generous sized rooms and good breakfast. Nice restaurant on site.

Friday the 27/06/25 we had a table of 11 which were guests at hotel, pastors from PTA,JHB and DBN. The time the guest headed back to the hotel the buffet dinner service was rounding up but Xolani the duty manager did “miracles” for us. He asked the kitchen to replenish some of the food stations so that the guests could have enough food, thereby getting their monies worth. The kitchen obliged and our guests were throughly satisfied with the service and quality of food that was offered. We also booked for lunch the next day in the Regatta room the food , service continued to be exceptional, with guests coming in drips and drabs, the kitchen was patient and understood the circumstances around that and worked with us all the way. Our ministry leadership has decided that from hence forth the hotel will be our designated place for our guests for all future conferences. Personally, as one who has extensive experience in the hospitality industry and customer service industry The Beach Hotel is worth your every rand, top-tier. A special thanks to Xolani .

Very nice hotel with three good restaurants inside. Room was clean and staff attentive. In the middle of Summerstrand in Port Elizabeth, so close to beachfront.

Nestled in the picturesque Port Elizabeth harbor, This Is Eat is a delightful seafood haven that promises an unforgettable dining experience. With its casual vibe and rustic charm, this eatery offers a mouthwatering selection of fish and chips, seafood combos, burgers, wraps, and curries—all at wallet-friendly prices. The ambiance is enhanced by the sounds of seagulls overhead and the refreshing scent of the ocean breeze. Meals are conveniently served in takeaway containers for those on the go.
It was my first time there and I enjoyed my Letap platter. The seafood is fresh and delicious. I can’t wait to unlock the memory on my next visit.

Tucked away right next to the PE dock Harbour you will find the shop tucked away from the activities of Summerstrand. Seems a firm favourite as was very busy with all the locals visiting this place. Queues move fast with a speaker system calling out which orders are ready for collection. Excellent decor in the front paying area creating this unique charm, giving a sense of what the owner likes. Some memorabilia and other signed items adorn the walls. Seating area was nice and spacious. We were next to a giant ancient tree which I am very grateful they made part of the decor which adds ti the nostalgic charm of the place. When the food arrived I was eager to tuck straight in as heard very good things about this place. Unfortunately the fried hake was very ok. I've had much better fish along our coastal holidays. Prawns and calamari were also very average. Chips for me was the highlight. Had that old skool charm doused in vinegar! Thus my search for awesome fish & chips in PE continues....

Rustic with undercover and outdoor seating area. Lovely fresh air and a photo op at the very old stunning tree! Right at the Harbour side ...a good must visit in Gqeberba/ Port Elizabeth

The service was great but the food was disappointing. I got a calamari roti and it had no lettuce or any accompanying veggies inside. Just calamari with sauce in a roti. That was wild and disappointing. The garlic butter for the pawns was just butter with crushed garlic put on the top. The fish was fresh but unseasoned with no flavor. I was a disappointed especially since I heard a lot of great things about this place. The biggest disappointment was the wrap 😭 I ended up having to modify it at home as I didn't decide to eat the establishment. Great atmosphere though and service.

Vibes of London. That is what I felt here. Announcements for the orders gives you London Tube vibes. Amazing Seafood. Great Taste. We tried the Fish Burger and The calamari, prawn wrap.

The food was good. Had to wait a while to get it but nothing too extreme. I love how you can sit outside. There is also a one hundred year old tree there and I think that that is pretty cool. You can tell it’s really old. I do like the atmosphere, the place isn’t too loud so I’m happy. I have got no complaints really. The food is of decent proportions and tastes good. Got calamari and hake. Came here twice as well. Both times with my girlfriend.

This place is just next to the PE harbour as honestly i would never have thought of even looking there as a visitor for the holidays. But wow someone mentioned this place and what a amazing place great vibe as it gives you that feeling of sitting on a boat while eating the fresh ocean air that blows through also just amazing. The food wow i love my sea food and this place just made my week before heading back to Gauteng. Food was amazing really i will def be back and will be my first stop again. Thank you to the whole team keep it up
