The Rainforest Cafe

Mentioned on
1 list
Restaurant
The Rainforest Cafe offers a variety of trails on the Zambian side, including the Upstream trail that goes along the river, the Rainforest trail with a close view of the falls, Boiling Pot leading to the gorge, and Photographic Trail providing an overview of the valley. It's a place where both angsty teenagers and adults can find solace in nature's beauty or seek adventure through activities like rafting and bungee jumping.
One of our favorite places in the Vic falls area! We only grabbed drinks, but I wish we’d spent more time here. Lovely, attentive staff and magical atmosphere - like a treehouse.
Max B — Google review
Friendly staff. The bream was really fresh and tasty especially with the chilli sauce! Highly recommended!
张世吉 — Google review
Situated at the end of the Victoria Falls viewing path, it is quite convenient for taking a rest after viewing the falls. The menu is very typical of the restaurants in this area with similar prices. I ordered a panini sandwich and my friend had a burger. We liked our sandwiches, except the fries were not crispy.
Clement C — Google review
Honestly, almost everything we wanted they were out of. The food that we got was mediocre at best, but the prices were higher than all the other restaurants in the area. For some reason, a cappuccino is served with a shot of alcohol at 8 AM. Card machines don't work. All in all, not worth it.
Allan A — Google review
Food was pretty good, but it took a while to get here. The smoothies are good. Server was friendly (maybe a bit too much)
Koen A — Google review
Nice place to eat after walking around the falls and our server was very friendly!
Fien A — Google review
The service is inattentive, and you have to wait a long time for your order. Since everyone comes here, they don't seem to make much of an effort. Very high prices.
Max N — Google review
Enjoyed the food (eggs and bacon roll) and atmosphere after a good 2.5 hours slow walk inside the Vic Falls Park. Anderson provided standout service.

Shoestrings Backpackers

Youth hostel
Shoestrings Backpackers is an informal hostel in Victoria Falls that offers modest dorms and private rooms. The place features a cafe, a bar, a terrace, and a pool. It's known for its great pizza and traditional food, but what really makes it stand out is the vibrant atmosphere where you can meet new people and dance all night. The road to Shoestrings is wild with sightings of various wild animals like hyenas, lions, baboons, and porcupines.
There are a couple of backpacker options in Vic Falls and found this the best overall for a range of reasons. Great location, within walking distance into town and restaurants/food options and supermarket. There is no kitchen to cook/prepare your own meals which is a shame nor fridge to store items. However the kitchen offers food all day/night which a decent selection, just not the cheapest, which is the case within the town. Private rooms are decent and clean, some offer air cond and others just a fan, so make sure you book the room to suit your requirements. I highly recommend the air cond room during the hot months. Huge property to spread out for space on your own or great place to meet other travellers. Music does get loud on weekends, so be prepared if you’re not up enjoying the atmosphere. WiFi is good and stable. Power can cut out (as across the town itself), but generators kick in so little to no impact. Washing machine can be used for USD 10 per load which is handy. Highly recommended.
Peta B — Google review
Dorm room door didn’t close and there were no mosquito nets. Heavy curtains on the door and curtains on the bed kept out most mosquitos but definitely not all. AC was ok but not great. Most importantly all mattresses in the 10 bed dorm were horrible. They look ok but as soon as you sit or lie in them they compress completely, it’s like sleeping on a wooden board. The staff are awesome though, very friendly, funny and helpful. Bar staff, security, everyone was really friendly.
Emma E — Google review
On Fridays and Saturdays, there is heavy partying here. Unfortunately, this was not mentioned anywhere beforehand. Music is played at an abnormal volume until 1 a.m., making it impossible to sleep. The rooms are old, and the mosquito nets are full of holes. The “very fast Wi-Fi” barely works, and when paying on-site at the accommodation, an additional 3% fee was charged for credit card payment, which was also never mentioned in advance. We are deeply shocked that something like this can pass as a hotel or hostel. Had we known this beforehand, we definitely would have booked something else.
Julia G — Google review
Great vibes! Great food! Stayed in great tents, very high grade and comfy beds with electric ports a light and powerful fan
Gary L — Google review
Very centrally located with a lovely garden. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. The food was nice but on the expensive side. Fridays and Saturdays locals come to party there so it can be noisy if you dont want to join in.
Annemarie W — Google review
1* because the staff are nice, food is ok and the pool is in decent condition. I cannot tell you how annoying and loud the bar and music is on a Friday and Saturday night. This is not a review from some old person who goes to bed early - I am a young person who likes to drink, and go out regularly - but it’s an absolute joke how loud and obnoxious the bar is. The music is absolutely awful, like flat roof pub full of your alcoholic neighbours that loves bingo bad. It is so preposterously loud before 1am when they finally turn the music down that it is not possible to sleep anywhere in the entire campsite. The DJ mixes between the cha cha slide into that Madagascar song or the Macarena. Wonderful. Maybe try it out for a night out if you’re yearning for the atmosphere of a terrible stag do but do yourself a favour and do not stay here. Tent also full of mosquitoes with a broken zip so not exactly great either and for some reason the pool is full of children all day
Tom J — Google review
Staff - were great, friendly, and super helpful. Anne, Marv, and Brighton Towels - need replacing, holes, and worn out. The pool looks terrible and needs to be redone. Overall, the place needs attending. Looks run down. Wifi - barely had wifi No hot water - out of 10 showers had 1 warm shower and 3 lukewarm. Rest cold. No communal kitchen Windows - to the communal bathrooms / showers should be frosted. Furniture - in general, is dirty and uncomfortable Rooms - adequate and basic. Mosquito nets are torn and in need of a good soak and clean. Windows cracked. Could do with a good coat of paint. There is no place to keep food. No kettles. It was a decent place because of the staff and location but could do with some attention.
Michelle K — Google review
Very comfortable tents with full beds. Decent price. Lovely bar and café with friendly staff. Good quality activities.

The Boma - Dinner & Drum Show

The Boma - Dinner & Drum Show at Victoria Falls Safari Lodge offers a vibrant and immersive cultural experience. Guests can enjoy a four-course dinner featuring traditional dishes, including specialties like smoked crocodile tail and warthog steak. The evening includes performances by traditional singers, dancers, and drummers, as well as interactive activities such as face painting and drumming sessions. The energetic atmosphere encourages guests to join in the community spirit by trying their hand at drumming or getting up to dance.
This was an amazing cultural experience. From the time you walk in, and they adore you with the traditional robe. The music and drum show was phenomenal. The buffet was excellent. Lots of choices, including very unique dishes. He can also choose to eat a worm and receive a certificate! Enjoyable experience
Mitch G — Google review
Great experience and a must-see event! The food was a lot of fun to try and explore different things. The meats were great, even if the sides weren’t. But the show is why you go and doesn’t disappoint!
Leland S — Google review
Would highly recommend this to anyone visiting Victoria falls!! The food was amazing and some of the staff even had a braai in front of you with all the meat you can ask for. The service was really good and the atmosphere was so energetic and friendly. The drum show had an amazing leader that even taught everyone in the crowd. A really great experience.
Emily P — Google review
We had a fun night at the Boma. There are a bunch of little experiences before you even get to the dining hall, which add to the atmosphere, but most come with an extra charge. All drinks, including water, were also at an additional cost, so just something to keep in mind. The food was decent but nothing to write home about. There was a big salad bar and four vegetarian mains when we visited—chickpea curry, pasta, stuffed peppers, and layered vegetables. All the desserts were vegetarian too. The best part of the evening came at the end when everyone got a Djembe drum and joined in for a lively group drumming session. Definitely a unique experience.
Shailen P — Google review
My second time going. The food and entertainment was on point. One staffer tensed when my friend asked for a second helping. Its a buffet, people should feel free to come for seconds and thirds. $50 per person is not a joke. Everything else was great.
Kudzai R — Google review
A famous restaurant for game meat.. $55 per pax and we got 20% discount as we are staying at the Lokuthula Lodge (same company) and just 3 mins walking distance from our lodge. I'd say the food is rather disappointing.. well this could be the high expectation to get guineafowl, croc tail or so on that our friend had before. Then there's this eland and buffalo stew only.. Anyway..... This is not the end, i'd say we actually paid for the experience of the night. The credit goes to all the staff that night! They are all friendly and i met the 2 lovey girls from the counter during our breakfast here who taught me Good Morning in local Zimbabwe language (well, i do not know which dialect it is as they have like 16 or what languages here).. the face painting is another highlight, he is an awesome painter, holding the paint in one hand and stand/ half squad paint with steady hand! I can't bear to wash my face that night. The interaction of the drum session, dancing, music is fantastic. What a fun night =)
Christina C — Google review
Boma will never disappoint, game meat, traditional meals you name it. You will truly enjoy your dinner! Local or international, it’s simply the best!
Adam M — Google review
This is as Disney-like experience as it gets in Vic Falls! The performance is fun and interactive. They even give you a drum to play along at the end. Food is buffet style so there’s a lot of food; many kinds of meat, salads, and desserts. Drinks are not included though so you even have to pay for water. The servers are friendly, but I think the lady in front could be nicer…

MaKuwa-Kuwa Restaurant

Mentioned on
1 list
Restaurant
Nestled on the second floor of Victoria Falls Safari Lodge, MaKuwa-Kuwa Restaurant offers a romantic dining experience with an option to reserve a table overlooking a lit water hole that attracts various animals. The upscale restaurant boasts white linen tables, candles, and attentive servers. Its international menu features Zimbabwean influences such as game meat and local fish, bursting with flavor and freshness.
The bar overlooks a watering hole, where animals come and drink. So the view is amazing! The sunset is to die for! The food is great too. I had a burger which was great. The service is good enough. The WiFi signal is weak.
张世吉 — Google review
Apparently this is one of the top rated restaurant in Vic Fall. Food is nice, we had lamb shank, steak, chicken, sunset, water hole with croc resting, resident elephant at night and they also have 2 live camera on youtube on the water hole 24/7.. great hospitality, acapella singing over your dinner table, vulture feeding everyday at 1pm.. humourous and knowledgeable waiter..
Christina C — Google review
Great place to eat, sit at the bar , watch the sunset and the animals at the waterhole. Staff are amazing and helpful.
Steven W — Google review
I spent the the day at the restaurant overlooking a waterhole where elephants and other game would visit. Breathtaking views!! Loved the vulture feeding conservation activity that they do there as well!
Caroline M — Google review
The Pizza was just so lovely. The scenery so refreshing. The Chef, Clayton if I remember correctly passed by to greet us. And sell the new menu to us.. definitely coming back here
Pius N — Google review
Eating with a view on the waterhole. Sunset is an absolute must. Good fod selection and wine. Start with a coctail at Buffalo bar!
Riccardo S — Google review
I visited this restaurant for the breakfast buffet. While the selection is limited, you can order egg dishes to be served at your table. I was drawn by the amazing view, which truly made the experience worthwhile. If you're looking for a delicious breakfast, this might not be the place, but the view is definitely worth it.
Sally C — Google review
Great, Great restaurant. We did appreciate our food. The service was at the top. Caring and attentive. The view over the national Park where you can spot animals. We had the chance to meet a family of elephants 🐘 ❤️

Zambezi House is a must-visit destination in Zimbabwe, Africa. The place offers fantastic food with scenic views of the wildlife safari style. It's an ideal spot for a mid-day break from the sun while enjoying beautiful views of the river. Visitors can savor local cuisine like Zambezi bream and enjoy decent coffee.
We had a great lunch there from our way from Victoria falls. Beautiful view on the river (watch the crocodiles though), great service, decent coffee, and go for Zambezi bream for a bit of local cuisine. The place is really comfortable, perfect for a mid day break from the sun.
Biljana M — Google review
Great coffee, superb food, including gourmet pizza! Beautiful, atmospheric setting overlooking the Zambezi. Highlight of our Victoria Falls visit.
Gustav E — Google review
first of all there is a beware of crocodiles sign somewhere around the grounds. That alone is reason to visit this place. situated along the zambezi river bed, this is a nice restaurant with great food, service and overall environment.love the furnishing, unique decor
Winwood T — Google review
Such a beautiful venue surrounded by nature on the Zambezi river. We stayed for a whole evening and felt very relaxed and happy here. We ate the squid starter followed by glass noodle salad and coconut chicken and a chocolate brownie for desert - all delicious and very good value. The gin cocktails were fantastic and wine was very well recommended. Keith our waiter was great & very attentive - he even took us on a tour before dinner. The best meal we’ve had in Zimbabwe and great value. Couldn’t recommend it more!
Alanna S — Google review
This place is DEVINE! You can enjoy fantastic food while enjoying the scenic views of wild life safari style. The staff was attentive, pleasant, waited at my beck & call and my experience here will be unforgettable because of them. The food was fresh, rustic, hearty, flavorful and presented well. When your visiting Zimbabwe, Africa GO HERE!

Great sunset cruise, not for distance on the river, but more aimed to chill and relax in the beauty of it all
Jacques S — Google review
What a beautiful spot to have dinner and drinks over looking the river. The staff are very helpful and attentive. Just be careful and not wander to close to the waters edge as there are a few big crocs about.
Wayne W — Google review
Went there when there was the Victoria Fall Carnival and Munch n Sip was hosted there. They had affordable bottles of whisky and we enjoyed their chicken wings. They also have a beautiful scenary.

Mama Africa is a well-established local favorite located near the main shopping strip and offers traditional dishes from various African regions. The restaurant provides a leisurely dining experience with meals prepared from scratch, allowing guests to embrace the concept of 'Africa Time.' The colorful and celebratory atmosphere complements the menu, which features typical Zimbabwean dishes alongside other African cuisine. Visitors can enjoy live music almost every night, including special 'Africa Nights' on Tuesdays and Fridays featuring a buffet dinner and local jazz bands.
Great restaurant, tasty local food. We had the fresh Bream from the Zambezi River with grilled vegetables, absolutely lovely. Gentle live music played too. Really enjoyed the atmosphere here. www.thehungrytravellers.blog

Visited this restaurant in 2015. Beautiful place, friendly staff and the food was incredibly good. I stumbled today upon an old photo by chance. Great moments and memories.
M L — Google review
Very cute and colorful restaurant. We stopped by for lunch wanting to try some african dishes. Ordered the beef stew and mozambique chicken both were amazing. Portions are so huge we had left overs to take away. Sazda was fluffy and warm. All the dishes were delicious.
Susmitha B — Google review
A friendly and colourful welcome, fabulous service from Ronald and delicious local food. I treated myself to their spicy beef stew and sadza, couldn’t fault it. And I was sat under a mango tree for added novelty! Definitely a great hidden gem if you’re visiting Vic Falls.
Eleanor C — Google review
Mama Africa is good, not great. However, the service was excellent and quick. We had beef stew and warthog stew and neither had much flavor. These were "hotpots" for lunch and ran around $12-$14 USD per dish. Nothing bad here, you just may have a tastier experience elsewhere.
Ethan R — Google review
Local Vic Falls grub without the hotel prices. Traditional African menu and rustic vibes Festive and friendly atmosphere. Don't expect your food in a rush, enjoy the live music and have another drink.

The satza was not authentic. It was ordered from SA rather than Zim style. Stew and fish were good

Well located, beautiful aesthetics and friendly waiters. Chocolate muffin was average, a little in the dry side. Might try again with their other meals but I’m not too thrilled to go back. Would be a great place to work but Wi-Fi is super slow. Would recommend for when on a budget.
Ruvarashe D — Google review
Waited 10 minutes to get the bill and then another 18 (!) minutes for the waitress to come back with the card machine... Staff seems to be completely overwhelmed. Food's okay-ish, egg whites runny, toast cold, etc. but nice cakes. Vic Falls branch is 300% better than this.
Christoph — Google review
I loved the food, had the most beautiful fish n chips. The chocolate mousse was on point, yo Americano coffee did it for me as well. I loved the experience
Sithokozile N — Google review
Tasty coffee, albeit very, very slow service. Attendant paying more attention to her phone than to my order, waited over 15 minutes for a simple order

Brookes Café & Deli serves nice food. The food looks appetizing and they also have a variety of cakes to order. The service is quick and the waiters know the menu very well. The place is located at the Zonke Zizwe Mall where you have easy access to Pick and Pay Supermarket and Food lovers Fruit & Veg. There is also free , secure parking at the Mall.

This isn’t a cafe, it’s just designed that way. Unprofessional, slow, below average food. It’s so unfortunate because Brooks Vic Falls is delicious food, drinks and the staff are so attentive, welcoming and friendly. Staff: Zero service training, loud and unprofessional. They don’t know menu. Food: Below average, slow. Pic- “Cream cheese” Bagel Coffees: Drinkable Many other places to enjoy if you prefer quality over quality.

With its stunning location overhanging the Batoka Gorge, guests can savor delicious meals while soaking in breathtaking views of the Victoria Falls Bridge and the roaring river below.
What a fun experience! Absolutely loved my sirloin steak, cooked to perfection. Our waiter was energetic and very efficient. The only thing I didn’t quite enjoy was our seating spot, would have much rather preferred a better view of the gorge. I suggest booking way in advance if you want to enjoy the full experience. I also recommend the crocodile kebab, so tender and flavorful. The French fries were so good, a unique crunchiness and flavor to them. Definitely a must-visit if you’re in Vic Falls

This open-air cafe is all about drama - natural drama. The panoramic views stretch across the gorgeous, where you can watch daredevils either bungee jump or zip line while sipping on your tea/coffee or even cocktail. The decor is understated, letting the landscape do all the talking. Its the kind of place you'll want to linger long after dessert just to soak in the view. The breakfast was delicious. Expect heart options like but not limited to- traditional English breakfast, vegetarian friendly plates and for a lighter fare - fruit platers yogurt and granola. Staff are friendly, knowledgeable and clearly proud of the cafés unique location. Service is prompt but relaxed matching the laid back vibe of the place. Its an entire experience with jaw dropping views, flavorful food and a front row seat to the wild pulse of the Zambezi, its a must visit for anyone in Victoria falls. Come hungry, bring your camera and prepare to be wowed.

Stunningly located facing the gorge at Victoria Falls, this restaurant is very popular amongst visitors to the Falls. We sat at a table that gave us a good view of those indulging in zip lining and other adventurous activities at the Falls. The restaurant had an interesting menu and I opted for the crocodile kebab which came with rice, Thai curry, vegetables and chips and it was very tender and flavorful. Others in our group who ordered the vegan burger and the chicken wrap too were pleased with their meal. The dishes were also reasonably priced despite the touristy location.
Ramdas P — Google review
It took us about 10 minutes to walk from the falls entrance via a dirt road. We arrived at 11:30 am without a reservation and snagged a seat on the lower terrace under an umbrella for shade – though the heat still radiated up. I tried the curry crocodile skewer, which tasted surprisingly like chicken. The view is gorgeous, with a bird's-eye view of the zip line below.
Sylvia C — Google review
I have not visited a cafe before in my life with such breath-taking view. If you find the right seat, the views are one of a kind. We ordered ginger cocktails and an ice-cream and everything was delicious. Service was efficient and courteous. It is walking distance from the town centre and very near to the falls entrance. A must visit while you are in Vic falls town.
Indy S — Google review
Lunch on the lower deck was a wonderful experience with a stunning view of the gorge. The food was fresh and tender, but honestly, it’s the setting that makes it special — the gorge, the beauty of Victoria Falls, and the thrill of watching the zip-lining and free-falling. I really enjoyed it here.
Calma — Google review
For lunch, we went to Lookout Cafe. Amazing view from cafe. You will need to make reservation ahead of time for guarantee seat. Food is very nice. Lovemore is the manager outlook cafe looking after us, gave us the best seat with a view. He even helped to take our photo too.
Suami I — Google review
We didn't have a booking, there were many people, it's very touristic but we didn't wait. Food prices are above average but Europe standard as you can find in Germany for instance. Food was tasty but not too much. The crocodile kebab was interesting but small quantity. The half chicken was very good. You can a good view of the cannon but not the waterfall.

The restaurant has a relaxed indoor/outdoor seating area with a cool vibe, making it the perfect place to unwind after a day of touring or adventurous activities.
Went on a Friday night and the place was a full house. Great vibe. We were a table of 20 and got great service from a few waiters, but Zibusiso stood out. The food came in good time and was amazing, and so was the ambience. The rest rooms were spotless. Would love to come here again
Memo B — Google review
When reviewing The Three Monkeys, it’s important to keep in mind the context of Victoria Falls – a small town with limited resources. Within that reality, The Three Monkeys stands out as a very good restaurant. They have a water mist system that helps relieve the heat, the meals were generous and tasty, and the bathroom was impressively clean. The staff were courteous and attentive, which made the experience even more enjoyable. Overall, I really liked it and would definitely recommend it to anyone visiting Victoria Falls.
Camilli C — Google review
Recommended by our hotel receptionist and we loved it so much we came back twice during our trip! Reservations highly recommended for weekends. Prices were higher than other restaurants in the area. We got the Margherita pizza and veggie wrap - both were great. The lemonade refresher was also hydrating after a long day. It was a great location near Elephant walk.

The experience was decent overall. The place was bustling with activity, yet we managed to get a table without a booking on a Friday night. The food was alright.

🍕🍝The food was really tasty, they have a wood oven for the pizzas! 👨‍🍳👩‍🍳 The staff were always super friendly and nice, as they all are around here 💰💸 So cheap I can't remember, less than $10/person 🏠 Amazing place, really lovely outdoors terrace

The Three monkeys Restaurant is located around the centre of the small town of Victoria Falls and has a pleasant atmosphere. Soft music in the background whilst you enjoy the perfect beer waiting on your food on the decking-like sitting area. I had the Tomahawk steak and it was cooked perfectly to my liking as per order. Mofaith and all the other staff are very friendly and attentive. Will definitely come back if I happen to pass by Vic Falls again. Highly recommended.
