Indian restaurant
If you're seeking an authentic Indian culinary experience while in Ocho Rios, look no further than Passage to India. Nestled upstairs at Soni Plaza and conveniently located near the Fisherman's Point Resort and Ocho Rios Pier, this charming restaurant invites you to indulge in a diverse array of traditional dishes that capture the essence of North India's vibrant flavors. From succulent chicken tikka to fragrant lamb biryani, each meal is crafted with meticulous attention to detail, ensuring a delightful dining adventure.
Had an amazing dining experience in Ocho Rios! Not only was the food incredible, but the views were absolutely breathtaking, overlooking the coastline. The butter chicken was rich and creamy, and the naan was soft and buttery—just perfect! We also loved the crispy samosas, which were packed with flavor, and the mango lassi was a refreshing finish to our meal. With its cozy ambiance, friendly staff, authentic flavors, and stunning Ocho Rios setting, this place is a must-visit! 🌟 Highly recommend it!

During our visit to the restaurant with our 4- and 5-year-old children, we were met with a server who had a noticeably bad attitude and seemed reluctant to serve us. After ordering appetizers, we waited for 20 minutes only to be informed that some of the items were out of stock. Frustrated by the poor service and lack of communication, we decided to leave without having any food. The absentee owner and management clearly do not prioritize customer service or the restaurant's success.

While visiting Ocho Rios recently, I decided to try Passage to India, and it turned out to be one of the highlights of my trip! The food was absolutely incredible. I had butter chicken, lamb vindaloo, and biryani, and every single dish was packed with authentic flavors. The naan bread was fresh and soft, perfect for scooping up the rich, flavorful curries. You can really tell the care and quality that goes into the cooking here. The atmosphere was cozy and inviting.

visited Passage to India while my cruise ship stopped in Ocho Rios, and I’m so glad I did! The food was absolutely incredible. I tried a few dishes, and everything was full of flavor and cooked perfectly. The butter chicken was so creamy and delicious, and the naan was fresh and soft—just perfect for scooping up the sauce. The lamb vindaloo had a great balance of spice, and the biryani was packed with flavor and tender meat. The staff were super friendly and made me feel really welcome, which added to the whole experience. If you’re ever in Ocho Rios, especially if you’re on a cruise like I was, I’d definitely recommend stopping here. The food alone is worth it!
Thane W — Google review
This is an Indian restaurant well located along the waterfront of the Ocho Rios pier which is a prime tourist destination. The restaurant has both indoor and outdoor seating and a pleasant laid back vibe. The menu contains traditional Indian dishes including a large selection of vegetarian items. I had a vegetarian korma and aloo gobi. I also ordered a raita to complement my spicy meal. All of the food was fresh and tasty. The service staff was courteous and efficient. I highly recommend this restaurant to those who enjoy Indian/South Asian cuisine.

Stunning views! You can sit right by the water when you eat. The menu is huge, and everything we ordered was tasty - all came out piping hot as it was just freshly prepared. The food was also served in a timely manner and the portions were huge!! The butter chicken, goan shrimp, cheese and garlic and were my favorites but honestly it’s one of those places you can order anything and you’ll be satisfied! Chefs are clearly talented and there are apparently 2 - one for Indian dishes and another for Jamaican. We only ordered Indian this time and it’s the best Indian food I’ve had in a while - really exceed my expectations in all areas. Shoutout to Michaela who served us and was wonderful as well always checking to see if we’re ok or needed anything. One of the highlights for me in Ocho rios - if you’re in town and hungry, make sure to make a stop here!
Dana L — Google review
we ordered 3 types of Biryanis all the Biryanis are worst no salt no spice only rose water/kewda water taste. veg sheek kebab is not all good not cooked properly. sweet corn soup was not cooked properly. Paneer butter masala was just a tomotobpaste after an hour me and my family got stomach upset. seems like food was not freshly cooked.. 3 people are suffering for eating the food here. hotel management should over see the cooking quality once it's a mistake to eat food here. 70% food was wasted and wasted 103USD for bill payment
Krishna T — Google review
It was a lovely experience. The food was awesome. The drinks were top teir. The different flavors hit my taste buds in phases. The nan, was delicious. Not to mention the quietness in the night looking at the boats on the sea, the night view was good. I want to big up the waitress on Thursday night of this week, she was so nice. It was a first time here and the experience was great. I will definitely return. 😍 Thank you for the experience Passage to India.

Margaritaville Ocho Rios

Mentioned on

Restaurant
Margaritaville Ocho Rios is a vibrant entertainment village in Jamaica that offers something for everyone. During the day, families can enjoy a two-story 100-foot waterslide and pool, while at night, the village transforms into an adult playground. The Havana Day Dreamin bar and lounge exudes an intimate Afro-Cuban ambiance with its mosaic tiles and wrought iron accents, serving a variety of local and international rums.
Went to the ochi location, there wasn't an entry fee, we had a very nice server, and our table was held while we enjoyed the pool and beach. We used the slide, and they had tubing as well as a car speed boat thing. There is alot of other things to do we had ice cream after and the food was really good a had alot of authentic Jamaican menu items
Crystal P — Google review
Another great experience at Margaritaville Ocho Rios.. We were there a couple years ago during a family vacation and had a wonderful time. My daughter and I were on a cruise there 2 weeks ago. I met my son there who was vacationing with his dad. The food and drinks were excellent, the atmosphere is always a vibe. I believe his name is Greg, phenomenal guy. One Love ❤️can’t wait to visit again🇯🇲

I stopped by today as a part of my birthday 🎂 celebration and had a great experience. From the server to DJ Flavor it was a great. He even played games with us and offered shots 🍾 keep it up and yall won't regret it if you go😊🫶

Everything about this place is amazing!! You have many options to dine! You can dine on the beach, in the restaurant, or get it to go! Please stay though because the food is so good! I had the jerk pork tacos and Starter shrimp and it was delicious! The drinks were good and they offer kamikaze shots for $3. The DJ plays great music that can be heard inside, outside and on the beach!! Kudos for the kiddos during the day with the pool and slide inside of the restaurant!! Must be 18 and older to enter or accompanied by adult for kiddo swimming.
Dana M — Google review
Heard a lot about this place so we had to go we went in the daytime it was quiet but I’m sure evening would be a party . It’s a lot like a Red Robin
Alaina J — Google review
We went for lunch on Saturday. The place is quite busy. Food was good. Main issues were flies
Carla — Google review
During my recent cruise stop in Ocho Rios, I had the chance to visit Margaritaville, and overall, it was a solid experience. Pros: Quick 10 min walk from the port. The drinks are very affordable, especially considering the location. It's nice to have a budget-friendly option when you're docked in a touristy area. You get access to the beach for free as long as you purchase food or drinks, which is a great deal. The beach itself was clean, and the water was beautiful—perfect for relaxing and enjoying the sun. Cons: The beach area is on the smaller side, so it can get crowded quickly. It didn’t detract from the experience, but it’s something to keep in mind if you’re hoping for more space. The bathrooms could definitely use some attention. They weren’t as clean as I would’ve liked, which was a bit of a downside.

Miss T's Kitchen

Mentioned on

Jamaican restaurant
Miss T's Kitchen is a charming Jamaican eatery and bar located in Ocho Rios, offering a variety of wholesome, home-style Jamaican dishes and drinks in a delightful garden setting. The restaurant is known for its inventive meals, lively Jamaican music, and relaxed atmosphere. It's tucked away in a peaceful cul-de-sac off Main Street with ample parking. The menu features sandwiches, wraps, fried chicken, seafood delicacies like the famous curry goat and honey crispy chicken.
We loved our visit to Miss Ts Kitchen. Fun atmosphere in an enclosed courtyard. We had the whole fish (red snapper when we were there). I had mine with run down (basically poached in coconut milk with herbs and veggies). Really tasty. My wife had the same but in garlic butter sauce (more fried than poached). Also super good. We both got rice and peas (because Jamaica!), but maybe only should have ordered one to share. So much food. I also got fresh mango juice.
Brad T — Google review
Our first time in Jamaica and we found this gem on the way back from Dunn's river and we are so glad we did! The food was impeccable, fresh, fast and so tasty. Would 10000% recommend if you're in the area looking for local cuisine and it's very affordable as well. If we're ever back in JA we will definitely be making a stop here again!!
Ayana H — Google review
I have to admit, the ambience and environment were very cool and relaxing, however that's mostly where the praise ends for this restaurant. My parents and I visited this restaurant while passing through Ocho Rios as we had heard great reviews about the place. Unfortunately, it did not live up the hype. The place is certainly a tourist trap with mediocre flavors and sky rocket prices. The portions were very small, especially for the curry goat and oxtail and they were both very mediocre at best. The jerk chicken was so dry and not very flavorful at all. The appetizers were tasty, but can't speak the same for the entrees in which they were missing half the items on their menu and we were the first guests there for lunch after they had just opened up. In fact, we were the only ones there. The service was also quite slow and our waitress had some attitude and sass, which we didn't welcome as guests to the restaurant. Additionally, when it was time to pay, she gave our check and didn't leave and just hovered over us while we calculated the tab and were trying to see the taxes and whether a tip was included. Before we could even finalize everything, she asked us how much we were going to tip and the suggested amounts were 15 and 20% even though the standard in Jamaica is 10%, which we were wanting to give considering the poor service. I will not be back.
Reno S — Google review
Super charming with great ambiance and excellent service. My party had the chickpea stack, rundown vegetables, jerk chicken and bread pudding with rum sauce. The jerk chicken was good, but the veggies dishes were excellent and the bread pudding with rum sauce was possibly the best I’ve had. I asked if they had any soup, it’s wasn’t ready yet, but the waitress noticed I had a cold and brought me hot tea. Little touches like that go along way. Definitely recommend Miss T’s.
Christine H — Google review
I’m so confused by the reviews that are less than a five star. It’s been two days since I ate at this restaurant and I cannot stop thinking about the delicious oxtail that melted in my mouth! Miss T’s Is truly a finder’s gem in the town of Ocho Rios. I’m still in awe! So yes I can agree for where it is the prices took by surprise. The menu is priced in USD at rates I’d fine in the states. But who am I to tell them they can’t operate as a high-end establishment. The look and feel of the place affords them to do that. I mean they have a wine bar…and actually area decked out with a wall of wine and tables with place settings ready for a formal evening. Now let’s talk about that oxtail again!! I’m convinced it’s the best I’ve ever had in my life. You hear me…my life! I’m a Jamaican born living in the US and I’ve tried many oxtails. But whoever is in that kitchen needs to be my best friend or at minimum in my phone on speed dial. And the curry goat was also a delicious treat. Spiced so nicely, soft and delicious. Honestly, this location should never be rated less than a five. If you don’t like something just let them know. And stop making an issue about tips when in the US it would be an insult to tip 10%. Your hostess would appreciate a nice tip. I’m thinking of hosting my next birthday dinner here. For sure is a contender!!! Can’t wait to go back. Beyond worth it!!! Gives Plantation Smokehouse a run for their money!!! ❤️ Miss T’s please know Kim is a fan!!!
Stacy C — Google review
This place is really nice but the food is just average. I ordered honey garlic chicken and was really sweet...to much honey, no garlic. My husband had curry goat but the bones where so little cut it you had to be very careful to eat it.I also found it expensive to for what they offer..so we do not recommend this place. I am sure are other better options.
Annemarie M — Google review
Firstly excellent food, staff and ambience. It was not crowded going there and we made reservations to ensure we secured a spot (though no reservations needed). Wonderful job to the team there. Will definitely visit again if we're in the area. The prices were reasonable given the location (Ocho Ríos, priced in USD) and they had a variety of options, their menu is also online so you can have an idea ahead of time. Loved that oxtail pasta!
Mrs. W — Google review
This was the only meal I've had thus far in Jamaica that's been outstanding, presentation, quality, and service was top tier! I ordered fried snapper with veggies and fried plantain. It was perfection! Also had Ting and coconut Water 🤎

When visiting Jamaica, don't miss out on trying the famous Juici Patties, a casual take-out restaurant with multiple locations across the island including Ocho Rios, Negril, Kingston, and Montego Bay. Known for its flavorful patties in chicken, beef, and vegetable varieties, Juici Patties offers quick service and budget-friendly prices perfect for travelers on the go.
If you want something cheap and tasty this is the place. For our family of 4 it was less than 1000 Jamaican. They also have plant based patties.
Rhodes F — Google review
Bought two patties there around 10am in the morning. The patties were obviously stale from the day before. Hardly any meat, mostly flour and rubbery crust. I threw away the other patty. I will never shop there again.
G B — Google review
The patties were delicious but they were a little bit too cold. Patties are supposed to be nice and hot. I enjoyed eating the beef patties but it would’ve been better if it was freshly baked. Go early to get the first bite.
Lady C — Google review
I ordered a coco bread and the server (Antoinette) placed my order on the counter in front of me--- not in my hands and turned away. This is not the first time she has done something like this.
Tajera L — Google review
Cheap and Very Tasty... Took a trip to Juici Patties before getting back onto the cruise liner after a long day on the beach. Yes, they were just as I remembered.. amongst the nicest I've ever had... Great variety of fillings too. The calaloo filling for vegetarians was so good!! The pastry to filling ratio is just right and the flaky pastry was so good .. although the line was quite long the staff were very efficient.. thank you Team Juici Patties!!! 👍🏾🇯🇲🤟🏾🥰
K — Google review
The food here in Jamaica is always good! Unfortunately, if you go later than 6pm, you may find that they run it if paties for thre day. Also, shrimp and callaloo patties are almost NEVER available, so don't get your taste buds ready for those -jist beef, beef and cheese mostly!
Dana M — Google review
Not having napkins to give to customers is unacceptable. Although the customer service needs a little improvement, the supervisor Jodiann was helpfull, polite and apologetic.

It has a variety of seafood and steak dishes to choose from, as well as an extensive wine and cocktail list. The restaurant is popular with locals and tourists alike for its exclusive atmosphere, excellent food and value for money.
Spent the weekend in ochi, and this was our last stop for lunch before we headed home. I must say, "Thank God!" Our waitress Hopeline was such a pleasant, young lady, she was always smiling and checked in on us. The food was really great, well cooked, and tasty. Hit the spot! The atmosphere was lovely, we sat outside on the deck but they had indoor airconditioned seating as well seating by the bar. Will definitely save this as a must stop the next time we visit.
Laura J — Google review
Awesome food! Well... some of the food was awesome, but they don't seem to manage food quality for large numbers in a group well. In small groups they seem to do better. For example, my surf and turf was overdone and I think they were keeping all the plates to serve everyone together and that probably contributed. Service for large parties can be slow. Relaxing setting. Pleasant interaction. Overall a good experience!
Kathy-Ann R — Google review
Went for my birthday, sat in doors, food and service was great, however, lighting was poor over our table the bulb had blown and electrician was not due out until the following day. Music was very low at first, we said we couldn't hear it and the staff rectified it. They made by day special by way of a cupcake with a single candle, sang happy birthday and put balloons and a happy birthday banner up for me. Would recommend.
Gwen H — Google review
The food was ok. The customer service was good. Was not impressed with the food, but the ambiance was enjoyable.
K R — Google review
Restaurant ambiance is beautiful; food was mediocre, presentation was nice. I had the stew fish with fried bammy and rice & peas. The fish tasted like BBQ sauce was on it; didn’t like it too much. The rice & peas was bland along with the Bammy.
Kimberly S — Google review
The BEST meal + service I've probably had at a local restaurant in a long time! I visited prior to the new management and was underwhelmed by the meals, but was open to giving a 2nd chance; glad I did. The meals were scrumptious AND filling, the service from the staff as well as the new owner felt very warm and personal. Dined with 2 friends and we all tasted each other's meals - everything was impressive. Looking forward to even more improvements.
Jhunelle J — Google review
We called ahead to reserve for our party of 7. This allowed us to select our preferred seating .We chose indoors and it offered a level of intimacy. The customer service on the phone and in-person was really good and enhanced our dining experience. Go Noella! The food was delicious across the options we selected. Special thumbs up for the brown stewed and curried fish. A few things to note are 1.limited menu options ( mainly seafood) 2. Nice for special occasions when you are prepared to spend a little more.

Delicious food...super cheap. We tried the baked, fried and curried chicken and everything was amazing. The chicken is really tender and juicy and flavorful and comes with a small salad and side of rice and beans.

First thing we wanted to do when we got to Jamaica was have some authentic Jamaica food. We hired a driver to take us to a place with some great Jamaican food. He took us to Mom's in Ocho Rios. We were not disappointed. The food was really good. The settings was like having a home cooked meal at grandma's house.

Nestled next to Soni's Plaza, Mongoose Restaurant & Lounge in Ocho Rios, Jamaica, is a vibrant dining spot that captures the essence of Caribbean hospitality. Open from morning until late at night, this lively eatery offers an array of well-crafted starters like chicken wings and coconut-breaded shrimp, alongside hearty main courses featuring local favorites such as curry chicken and jerk dishes. The signature Mongoose burger topped with smoked bacon and grilled pineapple is a must-try for burger enthusiasts.
I am very happy I decided to try Mongoose Restaurant. They get it right, the atmosphere, service, food, and music. Our server, Trish, was excellent, presented herself well, and just the right attitude, which made the experience that much more enjoyable. It's been a while since I have been to a restaurant where I can't think of a negative feedback - perfect start to a great weekend! Go to Mongoose, ask for Trish, you will be satisfied! Cheers!

I visited Mongoose restaurant and bar this evening. The service and atmosphere were excellent. They have a live band every Saturday evening. You can come alone to enjoy a meal and relax while listening to the local DJ and the live band.

I loved the food!!! It was a great atmosphere and I loved the music. The staff was good, for an American it's definitely different culturally, but I honestly enjoyed that aspect. We shouldn't expect them to have the same temper or aspects as us since we are visiting them. To me the service was great and I liked that they let us eat and didn't constantly bother us.

Pit stopped here between visits to Blue hole and Dunns river. The food was good, portion small but it was a meal included with the Nexus tours, so hard to complain per say. I could us rearranging the tables, even after getting permission to do so anyone annoyed some of the waitresses. So when we finished, i attempted to put the tables back where we found them , and it pissed the staff off even more. So i decided the food was decent enough to not complain but

We've been eating fish since we landed on the island. My partner wanted fish again and I suggested that she try fish somewhere other than here. I am glad she did not listen. Of all the places we had fish, mongoose fish was hands down the absolute best. She is still raving about it. The vibe and atmosphere is awesome. Parking can be tricky.

Juici Patties at St Ann's Bay top notch service..very courteous and accommodating staff to a customer order 8 boxes of patties for the 1st time. While other customers were getting impatient the staff remained professional. Will recommend for great customer service.
Nicolette C — Google review
I visited Juici Patties 2 days ago and waited in the long queue behind 9 customers to place my order, the young unfriendly Cashier seemed reluctant to speak to me about my order when I asked how long was the wait, because I noticed there was a lot of people waiting for their orders, she said waiting time was 15 minutes, I left because I know the wait would be over half an hour and under no circumstance was going to wait in the unfriendly atmosphere/service particularly with no Air/Con and the inadequate ceiling fans no matter how hungry I am also The atmosphere was tense with dissatisfied customers some complaining that they didn't know the wait was so long and been waiting 20-30 minutes and that the Staff was ignoring their complaints they were not at all happy. I observed customers waiting to be served walked out complaining of the poor slow service and long waiting.

We spent 30 dollars for a very basic breakfast which consisted of 2 omelettes and breaded toast. I don’t m me why it took 40 minutes but that is way too long to wait and way too expensive for a basic breakfast and no jelly for the toast just butter. I won’t be back It was also difficult to park. It did have a beautiful Jew of the beach.

What an amazing place with an amazing view! There are multiple tiers and it's cut out of the bedrock cliff hanging over the water with flowering trees growing up through the floor and up through the roof of the bar downstairs overlooking the sea. This would be an amazing spot for a wedding or event or just to hang out. I met the owner and he was so nice. What a gem of a place!

Party of 4. Ordered curry goat, oxtail, garlic shrimp and chicken in Alfredo sauce. Everyone liked their meals. Friendly cooperative wait staff. Dining in on multiple levels in this cliffside restaurant overlooking the sea. Our table was in the tree canopy. Loved the ambience. Definitely worth a second trip.

Quite impressed with this restaurant.Stayed for only 1 night, dined at the Almond Tree, ordered Pescatore Hibiscus, compliments to the chef..it was so good. My husband had the Oxtails equally as good. Will definitely return, atmosphere and service first class.

You’re really just paying for a nice view here. Food was terrible and we waited almost an hour for our food with no one else in the restaurant. Good spot for a drink maybe.
Damien V — Google review
Probably the worst restaurant I’ve ever been in my whole life. The food is just terrible and taste like frozen and heaten food. There are many other places close by that are worth it. We also spend too much for what we got. The view is amazing but if you want to eat good and with a view go to the spicy octupus.

Coffee shop
Starbucks Drax Hall is a global coffee chain that offers a rich tradition of coffee and fosters feelings of connection. It provides a full coffeehouse experience with a wide variety of hot and cold drinks, including the popular Starbucks Reserve. The location can get crowded, but the drive-thru service is efficient. Customers have praised the friendly baristas and excellent customer service, as well as the flavorful and not overly hot coffee.
This place has a whole variety of coffee products. Its sooooo good. The atmosphere is very good, the staffs are very friendly and kind. They provide good customer service and their coffee drinks are very good. Not to forget, but to make it a plus +, they have a drive thru which makes it a plus for alot of person instead of going inside in the long line. . Also the drive thru line moves very quick. So i would recommend it.

Fast service. Welcoming staff and a wide variety to choose from.
Doresa T — Google review
Starbucks offers a consistent and reliable coffee experience, whether you’re grabbing a morning latte or settling in with a laptop. The menu is vast, catering to both traditional coffee drinkers and those who prefer seasonal, sweetened beverages. Their staff is a standout, making your order fast and efficient. While prices are higher than average, the quality and customization options is good. The atmosphere is of an open concept but generally feels comfortable for working or casual meetups. Though not a destination for artisanal coffee purists, Starbucks delivers dependable service, clean spaces, and a wide range of drink options.

Exact same service you're used to in North America but with a slight Jamaican twist. Makes for a great experience. Definitely recommend

So, the service was good for the most part. Can be crowed, but the drive thru is golden. I got a barista named #Gordo. He is the best, he was so friendly, customer service on par. Like they didn't have all the ingredients to make my molten chocolate Frappuccino, and he assured me he could make something close, and he did. So I was staying close by, and we had Starbucks everyday 😃

The area inside is very spacious with lots of parking on the outside. The moment you step into the store you want to stay. Lots of seating...you can sit and chat and the staff is courteous and welcoming. The aroma of the coffee is an amazing!!! I would highly recommend this place.

Stale sandwich, rude service not worth anyone’s time. This was my second visit in two weeks and like the previous visit, the servers were so rude. The expressions on their faces indicated that they did not want to be there. During my visit today, they tried very hard to be worse than my previous visit. The server gave my drink order to someone else, then gave it to me without a single word. The sandwich, which sat on top of the microwave for several minutes, was stale. The dressing was sour. I would not advise anyone to patronize this establishment, they don’t care.

Poor poor experience. I always get the same thing at any Starbucks... I went to Portmore and omg the coffee was great.. I went to Draxhall and ordered the same thing and I got foolishness.. it was bitter and not rich. sigh.. they had just 1 card machine, another cashier was using the machine and dealing with an angry customer while the line became long because other customers couldn't use the machine. Our cashier had to wait until the other cashier is finish with the card machine

Norman Manley International Airport

International airport
Airport
Norman Manley International Airport is one of the three international airports in Jamaica, located in Kingston, the capital city. It is served by major international airlines with daily flights and also caters to private jets. Travelers can arrange airport pick-ups through their hotels or use taxis and buses for island-wide transportation. The airport provides a straightforward and seamless experience for landing and taking off, making it a convenient entry point to Jamaica.
Nice airport — clean bathrooms and I loved the art on the walls. Food choices and seating near the gates are a bit limited, though. Would be great if they added some water fountains to fill up water bottles.
Nedim Y — Google review
Decent airport that shows a lot of the Jamaican culture as you walk through the different corridors. It is not the biggest airport when compared to others but it gets the job done with clear signage to the different areas of the airport. The staff seems very knowledgeable and customer service is good.

Never expected process to be completed so quickly. The airport has noticeable physical and efficiency restructuring. Love the Barita Lounge.
Jeff S — Google review
Really quick to get in and out of. Security staff in departures were barking orders at passengers lile they were criminals, passengers going through security in a perfectly orderly manner. The airport just has snack and souvenir shops. It has zero air conditioning. There were fans but they had little effect and it was so hot. Nice view of the sunset over the harbous.

Lovely departure lounge. Seating needed for older passengers while waiting to check in. American Airline staff helpful. Sitting area before gates very comfortable, with great view of blue skies.

The worst airport experience I’ve ever had. At check-in, the agent refused to issue our boarding passes for a joint booking and demanded half our group join another queue. Only when one of us nearly had a panic attack did she suddenly make an “allowance.” Since when is basic customer service a privilege instead of a standard? She then bizarrely asked for “Right to Rent” documentation for the UK — something I have never been asked for in any airport, anywhere. Completely inappropriate and unnecessary. Security was no better: inconsistent, outdated, and frankly insulting. I was told I could keep baby food under 50ml “as an allowance” — then met with shock when I said it was for me, not a baby. Sealed powders were banned for no reason, my bags were pulled apart pointlessly, my festival mix confiscated, and unbelievably, an extension lead I’ve traveled with countless times (including into Jamaica itself) was suddenly not allowed. Instead of leaving Jamaica with good memories, we left feeling stressed, disrespected, and singled out. This airport needs a serious upgrade in both infrastructure and staff training. Courtesy and consistency are not “allowances.” They are requirements.

I am writing to file a formal complaint regarding the behavior of the lady working at the security post on 3-nov-2025 During my visit, the staff member in question was extremely unprofessional and disrespectful toward me and my friends. She made several rude comments, referred to us as “dunce,” and continued to say inappropriate, slick remarks from behind the glass, shouting and tapping the book very harshly. Her tone and attitude were entirely unnecessary and degrading. The employee was wearing a green and white shirt she had glasses, had plaited hair, and was wearing a brown watch. I am sharing these details in hopes that she can be properly identified. It was very disheartening and frustrating to be spoken to in that manner, especially in a professional setting where all visitors and staff should be treated with respect. If she is unhappy in her role, that should not be taken out on others. I sincerely hope that management addresses this matter appropriately and reminds staff of the importance of professionalism and basic respect when dealing with people.

Pretty straight forward airport. The check in process was smooth, the staff was courteous. The distance from one area to the next is not very long. More seating in the boarding area would be nice. The kiosks in the check out area, for residents🇯🇲, has significantly improved this process and has reduced the wait time👍. Update (Post Beryl): I flew in two days after Beryl, possibly the first flight in, everything was back to normal, except for the kiosks. Most were out of service or not printing. Aside from this all was well.

Sangster International Airport

International airport
Airport
Sangster International Airport in Montego Bay, Jamaica offers a range of amenities including shops, restaurants, a smoking lounge, and free WiFi. The airport has seen an increase in connectivity with several airlines adding routes to Montego Bay. Most visitors to Jamaica arrive at this airport and transportation options such as car rentals, taxis, minibuses, and airport pick-up services are available for getting around the island.
My first time departing from this airport and I’m surprised how much more organized and faster flow it is than in Kingston. It’s definitely setup for touristy type travellers with A LOT of shops and food options. What I cared most about (and wasn’t disappointed in the least) was the efficiency of checking in luggage and getting through security. It was great! The personnel I encountered were friendly and polite with their instructions. As for seating, there’s a lot of room throughout even on seemed like a very busy rush of people.

It was a pretty good experience. Can’t give it a 5-star rating because there are other airports that are definitely better, but I can’t complain about anything from this airport. When we arrived the walk to immigration wasn’t far, the lines were fairly long but moved quickly. The immigration officers were nice and professional. I recommend you take a cab from the taxi booth that clearly shows you the price of any ride. When we were leaving Montego Bay, security was quick, officers are waaay nicer that in the States, and everything went smoothly. It isn’t a state of the art airport but A+ to the designers that did the most with what they had. Very nice!

This airport was really nice as it was my first time visiting Jamaica. We really enjoyed the VIP mobay lounge. The lounge was comfy, had A/C, great drinks, and delicious food. The service was great and we will definitely return.

Very clean and safe airport! Lots of shopping options and eateries! Plenty of time to get in and out for your flights. Very organized. When arriving there are tons of kiosk to get approval with your passport. Do not stand in line. Keep moving til you find an empty one! Sandals had an area to bring your luggage and get refreshments! enjoy the perks of your resort or stay! Very impressive staff! Very professional!
Sandraella C — Google review
The washrooms here are extremely clean, which is a big plus considering how busy the airport gets. The departure area and process felt much more seamless and fluid compared to arrival. The arrival hall, however, definitely needs improvement—it’s far too cluttered and doesn’t leave the best impression. One thing that really stood out: during security checks, passengers in slippers were required to remove them and walk barefoot. In 2025, most modern airports no longer do this, and it’s neither hygienic nor necessary. If someone is wearing boots or heavy shoes, fine—but slippers should be exempt. Overall, it’s not a terrible experience, but it’s not great either. There are clear areas for improvement that could make this airport much more welcoming and efficient.

Alot of waiting around through customs & immigration could have been a bit smoother and quicker. Once through, finally got our transfer, driver was very polite, helpful and nice but got to the hotel and another driver reversed into his car which delayed us getting into our hotel even though the incident was right outside he had to drop us off at the hotel lobby. All in all, a long day but more than happy to be here and enjoying the sun.

My experience going through the airport was pleasant. I like the fact that they give you the option to complete customs form online it made for a very seamless experience. Jameeka is still developing country and people need to remember that I’ve been to a lot of developing countries and the sinks to Airportranks pretty well. It’s a standard airport where you don’t wanna be there for too much time because it can get digested.

The airport was busy, but we got through quite quickly! There are tons of souvenirs to bring back home for the family if you didn't get a chance to shop on your trip. There are also lots of good food accommodations and easy to understand. Make sure to bring a portable fan for the lines, though. It can get a bit hot in there.
