Ponta da Piedade, also known as Point of Mercy, is a renowned coastal attraction in Lagos, Portugal. It is celebrated for its captivating sandstone cliffs, hidden caves, and striking rock formations that emerge from the emerald waters of the Atlantic Ocean. Visitors often explore this picturesque site through boat tours to admire its natural beauty up close.
Beautiful rock formation and cliffs . Beaches are overcrowded but the ambience is great. Bus facility is reasonably good or if you can walk 2.2km then walk to Lagos train station from here. No tickets are needed to visit this place .
THIRU M — Google review
Great for walking and running! The trail is in excellent condition and easy for anyone to enjoy. From sunrise to sunset, it’s a peaceful place with beautiful views - just keep in mind that in summer it can get quite hot, as there’s not much shade along the way.
Laura C — Google review
This place was beyond amazing. The views of the rock formations are mesmerizing. I did not want to leave. We arrived on the first day at 6:30 pm to see the sunset. It was cloudy but we stayed a while and the sky turned beautiful hues of pink. We returned the next day to get a better view of the rock formations. There's a lot of boardwalks to explore the areas. On the left side, there is a staircase that will take all the way down to the water and you have an option to pay for a boat ride; which last about 30-40 minutes that will take you through the grotto. I did not utilize this service due to lack of time, but I highly recommend it. Behind the small lighthouse you will find a small Cafe offering light snacks, with tables and chairs. Large parking lot available a short walk away with plenty of parking. The earlier you go the better to avoid large crowds.
Candela_ M — Google review
Absolutely incredible. Worth the visit and the long walk down the stairs. We saw Dolphins playing down in the water and every angle and view point felt like it was worth it. Such an amazing place.
Jon T — Google review
Most wonderful trail you’ll find in a v long time! Easy access and lots of wooden platforms available for those who do not feel like walking into the rocks. Saying the view was gorgeous is simply an understatement. You need to visit if you’re close. A must for everyone lucky enough to get to Lagos.
María V — Google review
This place was extraordinary, captivating and better than imagined. If you are within 100 miles of this place, can walk a mile, go up and down stairs, make it happen is all that I can say. A highlight of my trip:)
Stacey B — Google review
This beautiful location is a must-see stop while visiting the Algarve. It is about 4 km easy one way walk from the old part of Lagos, but parking is close if you prefer to drive. For the more adventurous the steps down to the water give a different view. There were small boats available to take you closer to the formations, but we didn’t do that. We went in late October and snack shop and bathrooms were closed. No fee.

Praia do Camilo

Outdoor Activities
Praia do Camilo is a picturesque beach in Algarve, Portugal, accessed by descending 200 wooden steps to a sheltered cove divided by ochre-colored rocks with a hand-dug tunnel. It is one of the tiny coves curtained by low cliffs in the area. The beach is popular on Instagram due to its iconic staircase and stunning views, making it advisable to visit early for a less crowded experience.
Full of seaweed today, but still a must-see. The beach and water were completely covered in seaweed today, so swimming wasn’t really an option. That said, the cliffs and views are stunning as always. Arrive early if you want a spot on the sand — the beach is very small at high tide.
Snejana F — Google review
Lovely beach to take pictures and maybe go for swim but there’s not a lot of place to swim. There little to no tide, making it very calm. There’s a short cave entrance that can take you the beach next door. There’s also another cave that you can enter. The smell of seaweed can be quite strong but it gets better
Charbel H — Google review
After reading blogs about best beaches to visit in the area this one kept going up. And they were right. Despite the 247 stairs, the beach was the perfect spot. There are two sides to it and both are great. Even though there are a lot of stairs to make your way up to the top you will want to stay on the beautiful beach so don’t get discouraged.
Kenzie W — Google review
Superbly nestled between jagged cliffs, this beach has a small shoreline reached by a staircase of about 200 steps, from which you can admire a dazzling landscape as you descend... Nearby, and accessible by the same road, is Ponta da Piedade, an impressive rock formation with jagged shapes and caves carved out by the sea. It's one of the region's landmarks, and can be admired in its entirety during a boat trip, exploring the interiors of the caves and the small, deserted beaches nestled in the rocks !
Enjoy L — Google review
Lovely, interesting beach with lots of stairs, so be prepared. But it is worth it. Very unique and kind of hidden beach with lovely water and its own tunnel to go through to get to the other side of the beach. There is a little bar/cafe at the bottom.
Martina ( — Google review
What a find. Amazing beach with the most serene view. A looong walk down & up - tons of stairs. It’s not easy for someone with bad knees or back to go down. Carry light bags, and enjoy the beach setting. They have a beach bar with reasonable drinks and wafers.
Shaunik S — Google review
We had high expectations after reading that this is one of the most beautiful beaches in Lagos. We arrived early, around 6 AM, hoping to catch the sunrise here. Unfortunately, the experience didn’t match the hype, the beach was covered in seaweed and had a strong, unpleasant smell, with very little clean space to walk around. In the end, we decided to head to the neighboring beach instead.
Monica M — Google review
There are steps involved, the beach is not too big, and there are people. So why 5 stars, because it's a cools beach

Praia Dona Ana

Beach pavillion
Praia Dona Ana is a stunning beach located in Lagos, Portugal. It is nestled in a calm cove and surrounded by towering rugged cliffs, creating a picturesque setting for visitors. The beach's unique rock formations and cliffs, combined with the mesmerizing blue waters of the ocean, give it an exotic island-like ambiance. Praia Dona Ana is renowned for its beauty and is often considered one of the most beautiful beaches in the world.
One of the best beaches in Lagos. Not as crowded as those close to downtown but at the same time not as tiny as the ones close to the cliffs and the lighthouse. The way down is steep but worth it, there are some rocks so you have to be careful but otherwise it pretty nice. It even has a small bar. The water is a bit cold mind you.
Trachemysta — Google review
Our favorite beach during our stay in Lagos. We went for sunrise, during the day, and had a sunset picnic. It's busy but never overwhelmingly crowded. There can be seaweed but not too bad!
McKenna G — Google review
Another paradise sheltered between cliffs, its shore bathed by a sea of clear and tranquil waters, is one of the most popular images of the Algarve. The jagged rocks that emerge from the sea or are scattered across the beach offer shade to holidaymakers and add a picturesque touch to the landscape.
Enjoy L — Google review
Nice, if you come early enough (around 9am) there are lots of parking places available. Place is beautiful, expect lots of people! There is a bar on the beach, water is reasonably good (some seaweeds on one side) and fairly protected from the strong winds common in the area.
Carlo D — Google review
One of Portugal and Europe as a whole's most beautiful beaches. Unbelievable sunrises, gorgeous water and huge cliffs with relaxed waves. I didn't know the Atlantic ocean could be this beautiful. A must visit!
Dominick — Google review
Contrary to our expectations, the temperature of the ocean water was perfect for swimming and bathing, and we could stay in the water for a long time. The only problem was the thick algae, which in some sections covered the shore with the tide. The algae that was brought to the shore is regularly collected, but this happened on the day we had to travel home. However, the stunning surroundings made us forget this negative. There is a pleasant, cozy beach bar on the beach area, where you can also have a varied meal.
Tibor U — Google review
Great Beach in Lagos ! Praia Dona Ana offers stunning views, a pleasant breeze, and plenty of space to relax. It’s a great spot for photos with its scenic cliffs. The sand is beautiful, though there are many coquillages
Nicolas T — Google review
Not so big for Portugal, which is great for me, only one shop for drinks etc. Great beach for relaxing and the water a bit less cold than other beaches around. A bit crowded but no problem at all.

Meia Praia, also known as Praia Meia, is a stunning 5km stretch of golden sand nestled between rocky cliffs in Lagos. Its flat and rock-free terrain makes it perfect for morning or evening runs and attracts dog walkers due to its safety for both humans and pets. As the largest beach in Lagos, it offers a relaxed atmosphere with calm waves and crystal-clear waters thanks to wind protection from the nearby cliffs of Ponta de Piedade.
Very clean and peaceful beach, perfect for relaxing and safe for kids to play. Great spot for sunbathing, with some nice beachside restaurants nearby. Loved it!
Vahid C — Google review
When we arrived, it was a bit windy and cloudy, but that actually made it perfect for a long walk along the beach. 🚶‍♂️🚶‍♀️ The beach itself is huge, with plenty of space for everyone. Both the walking trail and the beach were very clean, we didn’t spot any litter or excessive seaweed. A really pleasant spot to relax and enjoy nature. 🏵
Monica M — Google review
A great sandy beach, 4 km long. There are a few beach bars where you can get food and drinks, as well as sunbeds, which cost €15 for two. Near the canal, there's a small boat (Vai Vem) that takes you to the beach for €1 per person in less than a minute. It's a great option if you don't want to walk for 30 minutes.
Nina D — Google review
One of my favorite beaches in Lagos! I’m too afraid of being at the bottom of the cliffs on the small beaches like Dona Anna and recommend this location for safety and great walking opportunities as it’s really long.
Jenelle — Google review
Kilometers of sandy beach goodness! For a city beach, you just can not top this, by foot from the Lagos center or by car, in a few minutes you are on a beautifu windyl beach! There are lifeguards everywhere, every 200m there is a bar with deck chairs and parasols (15eur for two usually), there are places just to put your towel down and enjoy your time on the Arlantic coast! Beach was clean and well maintained, but unfortunately, we did not see any showers.
Matija M — Google review
Really windy!!! Beautiful beach but not a place to relax. We lost 2 umbrellas 🤣

Praia da Batata

Mentioned on

Praia da Batata is a pretty but crowded beach in Lagos, Portugal, known for its clean sands and beautiful views. It's just one of the several nice beaches within walking distance of the old town. Praia do Camilo is a small and secluded spot ideal for snorkeling, while Praia Dona Ana is sheltered by ochre-colored cliffs. Estudantes beach features a cool bridge connecting two cliffs that attracts boat trippers who come to admire this man-made treasure.
Such a cute little beach nestled between the cliffs and just a short walk from the city center. 🏖 Perfect spot for a relaxing morning sunbathing session, highly recommend! ☀️
Monica M — Google review
This beach was nearest to where I was staying. Almost had the beach to myself. Then again it is the end of the season. Surprised to see the public toilets closed on the 2/11/2024 as all Saints day was the day before. Probably not opened then as it was a rainy day. This beach would be my third favourite in Lagos.
David W — Google review
Lovely beach, really nice and cozy, but also way too busy when we were there. Unless you want to lay about 10cm apart from your beach neighbours and have people step over you constantly, just enjoy the view and move on ;)
Sander S — Google review
It’s one of the ‘tunnel’ beaches so you can walk between 4 beaches through tunnels carved in the rock. Each beach felt quite different - one for ‘lads’ one for Portuguese. The steps from the lower cafe are fine but the upper boardwalk and view point is shut to come down. Theres a lot of weed at the moment (early July) so not as good as other beaches
Mark L — Google review
Beautiful & Wonderful Beach. I Go here every week (My Favourite Beach in Lagos)
Kanubhai G — Google review
Nice beach near Lagos, but in the evening the wind blows the sand around and it’s really annoying!
Iris G — Google review
I visited on Monday and Tuesday in January, 2025. It's the cleanest public beach I have ever been on. Zero trash! Well done, Lagos!!
Carla D — Google review
Praia da Batata is a beautiful beach with clear water, lots of space, and a very relaxed atmosphere. Everything was clean and well maintained, making it perfect for a calm and enjoyable beach day. The only downside is that parking is very limited, so finding a spot can be tricky. But once you have one, everything else is just right for a great time by the sea!

Igreja de Santa Maria de Lagos, also known as the 'golden church' of St. Anthony, is a prominent landmark in the old town of Lagos. Founded in 1498 and expanded in the 16th and 17th centuries, this active church suffered damage during the 1755 earthquake. Adjacent to it is the museum, offering an entrance to the church and showcasing valuable historical artifacts.
This church is inspiring and an incredible place to pray. The alter is one of the most beautiful I've ever seen, and I've been to Rome! as well as all over Britain. Had a truly blessed time here in our majesties presence.
Isaac M — Google review
Beautiful church. We got married here at the end of August so it will always hold a very special place for us. Lovely detailed church inside with beautiful art work. Outside has recently been restored and it looked just perfect. Lovely square right outside also.
Michelle K — Google review
There are two profound visual and sensory experiences that I will always associate with my visit to St Mary's, Lagos. Firstly its façade - though plain - made glorious by the vibrant, violet blossom of the jacaranda trees that frame the approach to the church. Secondly, within its darkened interior, the extraordinary impact of a crucifix, illuminated within an alcove above the high altar. Painted behind this life-sized representation of Our Crucified Lord is a group of winged angels, basking within beams of pink, purple and orange light that cascade around the curvature of the recess. It is an optical experience that one of my travelling companions described as "trippy"! On Saturday 23 September 2023, I was privileged to attend the vigil mass here, which was a wonderful experience. Worship music was led by a young male organist, accompanied by a choir of about six ladies, soprano and alto. A young lady with a beautiful voice acted as cantor, and the mass was celebrated by the parish priest, Fr Nelson Rodrigues, who, judging by the smiling faces seen all around the church during the course of his animated address, is clearly well beloved of his flock!

It's a small church you'll find on your way truth Lagos. Inside of the church looks almost like every church, except for the small chapel made from paper. (We visited the church in February so I don't know if it's still there). So inside you'll find a tribute to jesus and you'll get the opportunity to pray.

Beautiful Church in the heart of Lagos that holds daily Masses and opens the Church to the public for the rest of the day. Sunday Mass is at 11:30am and 6pm, will definitely be attending here.

typical old local church, not really a grandeur, but gives u a feeling of serenity, solitude and simplicity. On the square just outside the church is usually something going on, like live music and some dancing when we passed by one night.

The Mercado de Escravos - Núcleo Museológico Rota da Escravatura is a small museum housed in a historic building that dates back to 1691. It stands on the site of the first slave market in Europe, which was established in 1444. The museum provides insight into Portugal's involvement in the slave trade, offering historical context and showcasing the atrocities of this dark period.
This museum has two locations, one on ground level where you buy the tickets and one just around the corner on the first floor (or second for US). The staff is very helpfull and friendly. On the first floor you also receive a tablet with additional information of the exibition.

Overall a quick stop - you can do everything in 30 minutes. The only thing that made this place 5/5 was a worker Miguel. He had interesting stories and actually was interested in the topic himself, which made the visit much more memorable.
David R — Google review
Careful — although the posted hours say they’re open until 1pm, if you arrive around 12:15pm you won’t be allowed in because it’s considered “too late.” I explained that I had driven an hour to get there and asked politely for a quick viewing, but they still refused. Very disappointing and not reflective of good customer service.

Historic place that's oozing with history, but the displays are disappointing with dark cabinets and captions hard to read. Interesting historically but could be so much better.
Geoff T — Google review
The only Lagos Slavery waste site Discovery in 2009-2025 President of Lagos at the time Júlio José Monteiro Barroso. The slave cemetery was discovered in the Vale da Gafaria, next to the city walls of Lagos. Active between the 15th and 16th centuries, this site functioned as both an urban dumping ground and a burial place for African slaves who arrived in the city. As they were not baptized, these individuals could not be buried in the traditional cemeteries of the time. Context and Archaeological Findings Excavations carried out at the site revealed the remains of more than 158 people, many of them buried in mass graves. Some skeletons were found with their hands tied behind their backs, revealing the inhumane conditions they endured. The site was partially destroyed during the construction of parking and mini-golf course, but the human remains were recovered for scientific study. Memory and Preservation The discovery is now recognized as the oldest known slave cemetery in Europe, representing a silent yet powerful testimony to slavery on Portuguese soil. Its historical significance led to the creation of the Slave Route Museum (Núcleo Museológico da Rota do Escravo), located in the former Slave Market building in Lagos, with the purpose of preserving and sharing the memory of this past.
Cibrario I — Google review
Words fail me qhen I think of what happened on these grounds. So very glad to have been able to see this in person.
Stacy W — Google review
Honestly shocking how they can even call this a museum about the slave trade. Virtually no information on the actual atrocities that the slaves encountered, nothing about the vast numbers of slaves or how they were treated. No pictures or names or personal stories of any slaves. No information on the perpetrators. Just a few maps of where the slave trade took place. Absolutely zero accountability. Honestly left the museum feeling angry. Would not recommend paying and giving money to this place.
Hannah K — Google review
I hope a lot of people go there because this history is important. However, I really hope the museum will invite more critical curators and improve on their exhibition. The word racism was not used in any context. It is important, in my opinion, to also teach that these legacies continue to shape socities today, albeit in different ways. Wealth is still distributed unequally and Black people in Europe and other parts of the world still face racism daily. Also, I disliked how in the English translation passive verb tenses were used. E.g. "the slaves were made to work in households and on fields" --> "Portuguese people forced African people to work in households and fields in enslaved conditions." Call out the enslavers! Also, I really dislike that so often the talk is about "slaves" --> "enslaved people" is more respectful highlighting that this is not about just any other "good" but that this is about diverse people (with dreams, cultural identities, beliefs, family) who were forcefully and violently reduced to this status and condition. Although this has more to do with US history, I recommend reading Zora Neale Hurston's "Barracoon: The story of the last 'Black cargo'". IN 1927, she interviewed Oluale Kossola who got enslaved and shipped to the US. This is what I was missing from this exhibition: The point of views of the people enslaved. And also, as someone else said, a memorial is missing. Nothing outside of the museum encourages you to stop and reflect on how many families got separated here, and what hardship people endured. Conclusio: Glad this place exists bc this is the only reminder of the trade with enslaved people. But the exhibition could be so so so much better!

Porto Mós Beach is known for its stunning high cliffs made up of layers of marl, claystone, sandstone, and limestone that reveal the geological history of the Algarve. Fossils of ancient marine creatures can be spotted in the older limestone layers. The beach offers a narrow stretch of sand at the base of these impressive cliffs, creating a unique landscape different from other nearby areas. Visitors can also witness Black Rock as evidence of past volcanic activity in the region.
One of my all time favorite beaches in the Algarve. This place is especially fun during the evening/sunset. It’s so pretty. The sand is super soft and there’s lots of room to play. Parking is easy. There aren’t big waves which could be good/bad depending on what you’re looking for!

Not as scenic or dramatic as some of the cliffside beaches in Lagos, but still a great spot that’s easily accessible for everyone. It was quite busy, with a mix of visitors from kids to older folks. 🌊⛱️ The sand was smooth and the waves were beautiful—perfect for a relaxed beach day

one of my two favorite beaches in Lagos. Excellent for surfers. Some parts are wavy during certain times of the year. Excellent place to exercise. When low tide the beach extends through the caves to a another nice beach . The east side of the beach has a mineral clay in the rocks. The clay bath is an excellent addition to one of the most beautiful beaches in Lagos and possibly in the world!
Julian M — Google review
One of the favorite beaches, if not top, in the area. What sets it apart is that it is sizable, plenty of space to lay or play, clear water, amazing sea shells, great restaurants all around. A must visit if in Lagos.

Avenida Restaurante

Restaurant
Avenida Restaurante is a luxurious dining spot located within Avenida Hotel near Marina de Lagos. The restaurant prides itself on locally sourced and globally inspired cuisine, with an open kitchen serving up top-notch dishes like Cecina El Capricho and Caviar Imperial Gold. The glossy wine cellar offers an impressive selection of wines from around the world. With a Bib Gourmand status in the Michelin guide, the glass-fronted restaurant provides an elegant yet affordable dining experience.
A beautifully presented tasting menu with paired wines = delicious! The service was excellent also, in this modern restaurant. My only criticism was that all of the wines should've been Portuguese, championing their local produce. I can drink Champagne and a Riesling from any good supermarket. 🤦‍♂️
David P — Google review
Truly an amazing dining experience! Had the pleasure of doing the tasting menu with wine pairing and it was wonderful. Also enjoyed a delicious surprise dessert for my boyfriend’s birthday that was so generous and memorable. We also ate here staying at the hotel for breakfast and it was the best! Service was also very tentative and friendly. Could not recommend enough. All this while my top point being, it’s a Michelin star, and that’s pretty impressive. They’re standards are still inline with that which was a delight to enjoy

Avenida was the last restaurant of my trio to Lagos, and what a beautiful finale. The wait staff were choreographed like members of a ballet where each act was another magnificent plate of our 6 course tasting menu. From amberjack, sardines, cod fish, to veal, we had the opportunity to experience everything Avenida had to offer. I can say with great confidence that this is one of the best culinary establishments of Lagos. Any foodie would be amiss to not visit Avenida on their next trip to Lagos. What wonderful way to end my holiday here, thank you so much to the wait staff and my compliments to the chef. 10/10

An unforgettable experience in Lagos. I celebrated my birthday at Restaurante Avenida and everything was perfect. The service was attentive and warm, the food was outstanding — creative, fresh and full of flavor — and the atmosphere elegant yet relaxed. A special place that made the occasion truly memorable.
Sofia L — Google review
I vaguely remember reading online someone's comment which said that this was the best restaurant in Lagos. After trying it for myself, I'm inclined to say the same (with the caveat that I'm just a tourist with exposure to only a limited sample of the food here). None of the dishes that we ordered let us down, and most of them were exceptional. I enjoyed the octopus the most, while my wife's favorite was the beef tartare.
Jyo S — Google review
My partner and I had the set lunch tasting menu. The oyster was good, but like others mentioned, the foam didn’t gel well with the rest of it. The sashimi appetizer was underwhelming in my opinion. But, the mains were very good. Both the veal and fish were cooked perfectly and had intricate flavours. Overall, the experience was great and food came out quickly.
Brennan L — Google review
The service at this Michelin-rated restaurant was impeccable, as one would anticipate, however, the food fell short of expectations. While the mackerel starter was delicious, albeit small, and the beef tartare was good, the bone marrow dish was rather overpowering. Combined with pork, the dish lacked distinct flavor, tasting primarily of ground meat. We also ordered the oxtail and tenderloin, which the tenderloin had basic flavors, but the oxtail was unfortunately bland. Despite this, the presentation of each dish was visually appealing. The food didn't suit my palate so I wouldn't recommend this place as it is quite expensive.
Courtney L — Google review
We love exploring Michelin-recommended restaurants across the Algarve, and this visit was part of that ongoing culinary journey, though it may be our last to this particular spot. With plenty of experience to compare, we opted for the tasting menu and were genuinely impressed: each course was beautifully executed, and we have no complaints about the food itself. However, a few details detracted from the overall experience. While the staff explained the dishes in English, the descriptions were difficult to follow, and we missed having a printed menu outlining the courses, something we’ve come to expect at restaurants of this caliber. The biggest surprise came with the bill. A tip was already included, leaving no option to adjust or add more. That felt disappointing and somewhat transactional, especially since we had a positive experience and were prepared to tip more than 10%. Perhaps this is a precaution based on past issues in Lagos, but it left a sour aftertaste. In the end, the ambiance and food were lovely, but the way the bill was handled makes us hesitant to return. A strange ending to an otherwise enjoyable evening.

Casinha do Petisco

Restaurant
Casinha do Petisco is a charming little eatery tucked away in Rua da Oliveira, Lagos. This family-run restaurant offers a warm and inviting atmosphere where you can savor authentic Portuguese cuisine. The menu features a variety of meat and seafood dishes, with their Seafood Cataplana being highly recommended. Despite its small size, it's popular among both locals and tourists, so making a reservation is advisable.
Tried to book this place but couldn't so had to chance it ! Arrived around 20 mins before opening at 5 30 and already a small queue had formed of a mix of bookings and non bookings. They seated the bookings first whilst we crossed our fingers and luckily got a place. Even though it was super hot we opted for soup as it looked great and it was yum! A vege soup but with chorizo too. Then we had the famous cataplana between 3 people. It was a massive bowl of seafood and pork in creamy sauce with lots of vegetables too. Sooo good.
Bronwyn C — Google review
Amazing! Best food I’ve ever had. You have to get in line around 5pm to get your name on the list either for the same day (if there’s any availability) or for the next day. The guy with the list is super super super nice! Totally worth the wait.
Maria A — Google review
It’s the best restaurant I’ve tried in Lagos in terms of flavor! It can be hard to get a table (15 tables for 30 people in total), but it’s definitely worth the wait. Besides the Cataplana, I also highly recommend their grilled fish — perfectly cooked and full of flavor. Waiting 30 minutes is absolutely fine, but if the queue is over an hour, you might consider going to Pinhao for grilled fish (especially for their spicy seasoning) or and Calhou for traditional Cataplana.
Jorvik Z — Google review
Casinha do Petisco, a tiny family-run restaurant locals love with maybe a dozen tables. The dad was cooking in the back, the mom made desserts and served, and their son served as well. Every dish was created and served with purpose and pride. We had prosciutto with melon, fresh salad, Vinho Verde, olives, bread, and the star of the night — an incredible Cataplana Mista (shrimp, clams, and fish in a rich garlicky broth). We both said we could live in that sauce because my god it was absolutely incredible. We were so lucky to get in because of the limited seats and they dont take reservations. They only serve about two turns per night because each rush is so intense for the family, but there is a 2 hour wait once the restaurant is fully seated. One chef, two servers, and a line out the door waiting because its worth it. It was honestly one of the best meals of our lives, finished off with homemade desserts that were unique to the region. If you are lucky to get in, which you need to get there early and wait on line, get the Cataplana, it's worth every second you wait. A masterpiece.

It was our mission to get in here for food on our trip to Lagos! For our first few days in Lagos, they were closed and just when we were giving up hope, we happened to walk past and they were open with a small queue already. We managed to get a table for 9pm (make sure you don’t miss when they call your name or you’ll lose your place in the queue!) and it didnt disappoint. It lives up to the hype! We shared a prawn and clam Cataplana, and it was absolutely incredible. The sauce was so delicious! It is a very generous portion for two to share - plus it comes with rice and potatoes. I was absolutely stuffed by the end! The best dish we tried whilst in Portugal. The Syrah wine was incredible too. The guy at the door/waiter was kept incredibly busy but was very friendly. And the chef was a hero. Definitely go if you’re visiting Lagos! It’s cash only so be sure to head to the official bank ATMs to get a good exchange rate and dodge ridiculous fees (don’t use the Euronet ones scattered around old town).

Incredible experience at Casinha Do Petisco!!! Wow wow WOW. we had this restaurant recommended by a fellow Canadian (who has lived in Portugal for 7 years now) and oh my goodness, this is a MUST! 5 stars all around. Staff went above and beyond, food was out of this world, and an amazing atmosphere. Top restaurant in my books!!!
Madison F — Google review
Great service, great food and great atmosphere- pretty much sums up this restaurant and it surely lives up to the hype that we see on social media! Highly recommend the cataplana (ofcourse!) We had a mixed cataplana (prawns & clams) and it was yumm! Chefs kiss! We got a table impromptu in an hour’s time after putting our name on the waiting list and it was definitely worth it!
Tanya M — Google review
We had the home style stew that had shrimp, clams and pork. It came with a side of rice and potato slices. Overall the stew was very good but the pork was a bit tough so we didn’t much of the pork. The waitlist is a bit hit or miss but after sitting the service was friendly. They told some they were booked and later had people just come in. A few groups were very frustrated with the process having waited over an our or even missing their time. One couple just walked in and sat at an empty table. It’s very small and tight inside. Note that this place is Cash Only. There is an ATM outside but get ready to pay extra fees and poor conversion rates.

Restaurante Casa do Prego is a contemporary restaurant located in the heart of Lagos old town, known for its beautiful dishes, cozy interiors, and outdoor seating. The restaurant offers generous portions at reasonable prices, making it an excellent option for those seeking a higher-end dining experience without breaking the bank. With tiled decor and shaded terraces, this bustling eatery provides a laid-back atmosphere perfect for enjoying tapas and traditional Portuguese dishes meant for sharing and exploring new flavors.
This restaurant should be on your to visit list. However, book a couple of days in advance. We tried to book on the day and were told it was fully booked but we might have some success as a walk up. We arrived around 8pm to find a queue of two couples ahead of us and the waiter told us we were potentially looking at a wait of approximately half an hour. In the event it was 15 minutes maximum before we were seated. That said when we left at 10pm the queue was right down the stairs and into the street. It's that popular. Did it live up to expectations oh yes, there's a great atmosphere, the staff are super friendly and attentive. The food is very good. I definitely eat here again. Well recommended.

From the moment we walked in, we knew we were in for a treat. The mood was set perfectly—a trendy and vibrant atmosphere that instantly made us feel welcome. But what truly stood out was the staff. They were not just friendly; they were incredibly warm and engaging, making everyone feel special, including our kids. The food was nothing short of perfection. We were particularly impressed that our children, who are notoriously picky eaters, devoured their tuna and chips with gusto. Every dish we had was prepared with care and tasted fantastic. This is more than just a restaurant; it's an experience. The combination of a stylish setting, delicious food, and the most wonderful staff made our evening unforgettable. We can't wait to come back!

Friendly service and great food. Stopped by for lunch and it was so good we went the next day again for dinner. Had the salad, seared tuna, shrimp piri piri, beef stir-fry, green wine sangria and red wine sangria. Everything was very well presented and tasty. The prawn piri piri outstanding and so was the salad. Really friendly service and if we had more time would definitely go again!!!

The food was delicious and the service was great. When using Google maps walk slowly or you will miss the entrance. I posted a picture of the door for reference. The steak with peppercorn sauce was delicious and very tender. The potato chips taste homemade and fresh. The steak sandwich bread, is potato bread, also seems homemade. The sandwich is very filling I was not able to eat all my chips after eating the sandwich. It was a busy afternoon and the service was friendly and fast. The bathrooms were very clean.

Pretty nice place for eating. It is interesting inside, well decorated. The food is good, I would not say the best steak I have ever had but pretty tasty. The service is good. The waiter we had was very nice. Bear in mind normally you have to wait to get a table.

Really good vibe at this Lagos restaurant! We had a reservation - good thing, because when we left, the line-up was long - and was hoping to sit outside but the weather was not great and they weren't sitting guests outside. Inside, though, had a really good 'vibe' and buzz and feeling. Our server was great, unfortunately I don't remember his name and it was just an all-around pleasant evening. We shared some fried shrimp to start (yummy) and each had a chicken dish for mains - husband had their Guia dish, and me their Maria Vinagre salad with chicken. Both were very good. It does not seem like a large restaurant (especially with the patio closed, but I did not see it due to weather) and it was very definitely a popular one when we were there (an early Saturday evening in late September). We had parked at a central parking garage a short walk away. Recommended!

Went to Caso do Prego for dinner. The food was delicious and the service was great. Moreno made sure we had a great experience! I had the O Prego! and my friend had the São Jorge accompanied by a half jug of sangria verde. Then we had cappuccinos with our dessert “Delicia de Banoffee” and Moreno closed us out with a taste of wine from Porto.

the food here was good, but didn’t stand out to me too much. i enjoyed the pork cheeks tapas the most because the sauce was so good i used it all over my steak and with the bread they gave us as well. the garlic beef strips didn’t have too much flavour but the steak was cooked very well. the fries they came with were also very yummy and unique

Nestled on a picturesque, tiled street in the vibrant heart of Lagos, Real Portuguese Cuisine is a delightful eatery that truly embodies its name. This charming restaurant offers an inviting atmosphere perfect for both romantic dinners and gatherings with friends. The menu showcases an array of regional specialties, including the renowned cataplana—a delectable seafood and chorizo stew cooked in a traditional copper pan—and succulent pears poached in port for dessert.
Amazing food and great service. We’ve been in Portugal for a week and have never tried more delicious food than here! Compliments to the chef.

I ordered the carpaccio but had to return it—the meat was bland, and even the Parmesan lacked flavor. When I asked for olive oil, it came in a small plastic bottle—another sign for low-quality ingredients. Despite sending the dish back, they still charged fme. A disappointing experience overall.

Had dinner there with my wife and it was simply delicious. The batadas a murro ( punch potato ) was the best potato i ever had ( crispy skin, salt, olive oil, garlic, etc) served with my also delicious seabass filet. My wife enjoyed her pork cheek. Cute local restaurant, super kind and friendly service from a gentleman from Porto. Love it. I did not take pic of the food as pic of dishes often can not describe the taste.

Regarding the reviews of this place, I had some expectations and I m really disappointed about this experience. The waiter is kind and we had a good welcoming, we sit at 20:20 and our water came at 21:00 we were really thirsty. For the food we wait 1:20. The food tasted good but the cooking of our meat was not respected. I don’t recommend this restaurant despite the good reviews, maybe we came here in a difficult day for the restaurant.

Lovely little restaurant in the heart of Lagos. It's a bit on the posh side but without trying too hard or being pretentious. Relaxed and cosy atmosphere, well cooked food and not over the top presentation. Good house wine and a welcoming and friendly service. Had a great evening and met lovely fellow diners. Cheers to life.

We got food poisoning from this restaurant and would not recommend! We believe it was from the bluefish tuna, which was clearly not hygienic or safe for consumption. The service at the beginning of the meal was fantastic, but by the end of the night we waited almost 40 minutes to get the bill.

Black and White Coffee Shop is a popular spot in Lagos, known for its great coffee and inviting atmosphere. Located in the heart of the city, it offers a spacious and airy setting where patrons can enjoy a variety of coffee and tea-based drinks along with cafe bites and bowls. The central tables are reserved for dining or socializing, while higher stools by the windows cater to those working on laptops.
We came here after seeing the Google reviews, and the long line plus the variety of croissants and pastries made me want to try it. We had the avocado toast with eggs, which was okay but lacks flavor, you need extra salt and pepper. The egg toast with bacon was super delicious, and the chocolate croissant was my favorite, so good! On the way out, I noticed they also have a croissant with goat cheese and spinach, which I’ll definitely come back for. The coffee is excellent too, and the staff are the friendliest, always making the experience even better. Highly recommend this place if you’re in the area and want a good breakfast.

Gorgeous Bali-style brekkie/brunch/lunch spot in the heart of Lagos old town, with a clean, modern interior, high ceilings, and some relaxed outdoor seating on the street. It’s super popular in the summer months, so expect a queue—sometimes up to 20 minutes or more. But it’s worth the wait. The breakfast and lunch menu is fresh, vibrant, and consistently good. I love the avocado toast with poached eggs for breakfast, and the Buddha bowl is a favourite at lunchtime. Their pastries are also amazing—especially the almond croissants and cinnamon buns. If you’re short on time, pop next door to their takeaway coffee shop, which serves the same great pastries and coffee with almost no wait. Staff are usually very friendly, though things can feel a bit rushed during peak tourist season (understandably so when it’s packed). Personally, I love visiting in the winter—it’s quieter, more local, and the service feels especially warm and attentive. One of the best spots in Lagos for brunch or a quality coffee break.

Awesome café with a great vibe and delicious breakfast. Exactly my kind of place – from the design and service to the artisanal pastries. Probably the best cinnamon bun I’ve ever had. Totally worth the trip from Lisbon. If I came to Lagos for a week, this would be the place I’d go to every day. 10/10

Very cool/ hipster place in Lagos for brunch/ coffee. We tried different dishes and they were all good. We enjoyed the fact that both Portuguese and international people worked here, and were all polite and with good vibes. Would visit again!

Great overnight oat and yoghurt bowls. Very hearty and healthy. Combine it with a latte and you’re good until mid-day or the beach. This place has a line to sit down so we went to the takeaway counter next door and took our breakfast to the Old Town square and sat down to enjoy by the green house

This was our go to breakfast for the 3 days we stayed in Lagos. Our first experience was in the restaurant section. Our server was a super nice (wish I grabbed his name but he had curly blonde hair). We ordered the yogurt bowl, a full order of pancakes and two lids portions of pancakes (one with bacon and one with the strawberries. Food was delicious! The next two days we visited the to go section and both times the coffee was perfect and the pastries were great! This place is a must at least once on your visit to Lagos!

Delicious food for all. Vegan options available. A little pricier but most places in Lagos are. Great cappuccino. The juices were so fresh and yummy. Will say the music was bit choice, was 8 am and they were blasting green day lol maybe a little slower chill Portuguese or lo fi would have felt nicer but hey that’s just preference. Good service and vibes. For sure recommend.

Great place for breakfast/brunch with really good coffee. Every time I've been there's been a queue outside for a table but it usually doesn't take too long. Nice and cool inside and the staff are friendly. I love the breakfast burrito and bap. Vegetarian friendly. They also have a second location a couple of doors down which just do takeaway coffees and pastries which is very handy if you're on the go or don't want to wait in the queue but still want a good coffee

Chico Zé - Francisco Jose Sequeira Torres is a lovely seafood restaurant where you can pick your own fish. The food is fresh and delicious, with friendly staff. The restaurant is also wheelchair accessible, and serves alcohol.
Still my favorite restaurant to visit in Portugal! All available fish or meat is very fresh and well prepared on the grill. I really recommend the salmon, which has a rich, fresh and Smokey flavor. The service is excellent as well, always friendly and attentive. Prices are not cheap, however I would argue that every euro is worth it!

Great local restaurant with a variety of traditional Portuguese grilled fish and meat. The rustic decorations make it feel cozy and familiar. The only downside is the poor service, with the waiters running around collecting orders but keep on forgetting them

A great little traditional restaurant with an authentic feel. Delicious food! We had the mixed kebabs and veal. Good service. They are only open for lunch. The kitchen closes at 16:00
Rachel D — Google review
Search the lovely restaurant out, it’s on a main rd just outside Lagos, opens for 4 hrs a day and in the summer you’ll have to arrive early and join the queue. Choose your fish from the chilled display as you walk in and the chef will cook it for you, meats and chicken are also on display for you to choose. Once you enter the seating area you can be outside in the courtyard or inside the restaurant. The service is prompt and friendly, the food is amongst the best you’ll have on the Algarve. The prices are very good and you certainly get a lot for your money. Then go for a walk through the gardens and see the landscaped garden and old buildings.

A great place known to many local people and not many tourists. Fresh food with no fuss. Love the pork chops just off the grill.

Fantastic, fresh fish, grilled and prepared to perfection. Beautiful food straight from the sea! Very good, fast service and a great atmosphere. Filled with locals - a sure sign of goodness and the locals are right in this case. Multiple seating areas; inside, covered outside and a courtyard. There's even a horse in a paddock and a sword in a stone to look at if you get bored of staring at your phone after dinner. Highly recommended. Try avoiding the lunch hour queue and arrive towards the 4pm closing time for the afternoon, at about 3pm -3:30pm. Some fish may be sold out but the place will be less crowded.

I’d heard so many good things about Chico Ze and finally got the chance to try it. We arrived at lunchtime and ended up sitting at what seemed like the smaller side restaurant next to the main Chico Ze (possibly under a different name, but I think it’s run by the same people). The queue for the main restaurant was long, but honestly, I loved where we ended up—more local and authentic in feel. We sat outside in the sun, and the vibe was very relaxed and welcoming. The waitress didn’t speak English, which was actually a bonus—it gave us the chance to practice our Portuguese and added to the local experience. We were served a fresh salad, bread, and olives to start, and for the main we had grilled dorada (sea bream). It was incredible—hands down the best fish I’ve eaten in the Algarve, maybe even all of Portugal. Perfectly cooked, sooo meaty, and full of flavour. Whether it’s the side spot or the main Chico Ze, the quality of food speaks for itself. 5* from me—authentic, delicious, and I’ll definitely be coming back 😀

Restaurante Adega da Marina may seem like a typical tourist spot at first, with its spacious layout and lack of intimate charm. However, it's frequented by many locals, indicating its authenticity. Housed in the former Adega Cooperativa de Lagos building, the restaurant's name is a nod to its history. Visitors have praised the generous portions and delicious dishes such as garlic squids and picanha brasileira.
I went with my boyfriend to have dinner at this place and I can only say that the only bad thing was that we had to wait half an hour to get in. This place is always busy and you have to queue to enter and I totally understand why. The food is super tasty, fresh and very reasonably priced, you couldn’t ask for more. The waiter who served us was really friendly and attentive the whole time. My holidays in the Algarve were incredible thanks to places like this.
Kléber F — Google review
Adega da Marina is definitely an interesting eatery. The indoor dining area is quite large and open, almost feels like you're in a big cafeteria hall and has a pretty lively atmosphere when it's busy. The food we ordered was quite good, we ordered sea brass, gold bream, baby squid and swordfish, all of which were well made. We didn't realize that the fish all came with side of potatoes and fries so we had ordered additional sides and ended up over ordering. We also saw other tables ordering the meat items all of which looked pretty good with lots of food for the price. Just note that if you come when it's busy (and it gets busy during dinner time) be prepared to wait for your food. Again, the food was good but we just weren't prepared for the wait. Otherwise a pretty good place to go to if you're looking for a Portuguese meal.

Local Portuguese food tasted good. Wine was good. Priced reasonably and it felt like eating in a big food hall. The older lady who served us was very quick to take the order and to clean our table. The restaurant is clean and I could see many local eats there too.
E C — Google review
A local friend recommended this place for fresh seafood. Every night there were lines outside the door so we got there around 7 pm and didn’t have to wait too long (10 min or so). It’s quite loud and chaotic in the hall, but fun lively family style dining. Their seafood is the best my husband had in the area. He was impressed with kitchen master chef, an elderly gentleman who really knows how to grill and season the fish perfectly. The clams and golden bream are excellent. My qualm with this place is the lack of vegetarian options. I do appreciate it’s a seafood restaurant, but for other diners who come along, some options (other than a beyond burger with no bun!) could be given. We had to flag down our waiter for water, condiments for the fries, salt, oil, vinegar, additional napkins…they don’t have mustard. It also took a while to get our order placed! Orange juice was really sour as well. Their dessert options are on a separate menu, so ask the server for it.

We 3 Londoners were changing coaches in Lagos at lunchtime. I looked up gglmps and found this Portuguese restaurant. The terrace was full of mostly tourists with no space for us 3. The Dish of the Day was Bacalhao a Brás for a reasonable 12. We entered to find a large quite busy barn with a football theme with the ubiquitous large muted TVs showing football and staff busy seeing to a mostly local crowd. A waiter showed us to a central end of a row table He presented us with some paper menus which had 1l house wine at €5:55 & .5l at €3.25 so we ordered .5l branca. We ordered 3 dishes of the day which came quickly after the wine & water and extra virgin olive oil & vinegar. The bacalhao were presented on metal platters, were generous, garnished with shredded lettuce, sliced onion & a few pitted olives. The bacalhao was piping hot and delicious and we all cleared our plates as we savoured the atmosphere. Any more bread would have been too much. As we ate, a group of similarly middle aged English tourists arrived next to us and chose a selection of dishes with which they seemed very happy with when it came. I went to the clean and spacious toilet and on returning joined the queue at the till to pay just in case they had an integrated system and could recognise our (un-numbered) table. Our waiter spotted me and quickly printed off the bill at his station, handing it to me saying service was not included and it was to be left on the table. I paid the bill amount by phone/card and joined my friends to discuss the tip. My friend had noticed a general tip box nearby. My other friend said that you don’t generally tip for Day Menus. A French friend living in Lisbon says tipping is not general but the Californian influx has made the hospitality trade get used to it and expect it. We left a Euro as a compromise tip on the table. Overall a great experience with very good service and food. This place is a bit off the beaten tourist trail and, judging by the prices we saw as we explored the rest of the old town, was very good value and frequented by many more locals.

Great restaurant if you are visiting Lagos and want to eat good and decently priced local food. The service was fast, straight forward menu. Me got the salmon and mahi mahi with some steamed vegetables and potatoes. We also got the pitcher of the house wine which was also great.

Restaurant
The Green Room in Lagos, Algarve, Portugal is a popular spot known for its delicious Mexican cuisine and cocktails. The restaurant offers a laid-back atmosphere with a social, surfy vibe that's perfect for enjoying a meal with friends. Every Tuesday evening before 7 pm, guests can enjoy a free taco of their choice with any cocktail order.
One of our top meals since arriving in Portugal. The service was quick, friendly and attentive. Portions were generous. The fish tacos were so big and packed they didn’t even close. Everything was super fresh and perfectly seasoned. We loved it. We highly recommend it. Such a great find.

We were there for Taco Tuesday but didn't quite understand the brief. For every beer or cocktail you drink you get a free Taco. We thought it was just for the one. We had the beef and pork tostada with a Sagres and waitress recommended Paloma - delicious! And then a fish burrito, nice but not outstanding and a delicious Beef burrito. The restaurant was busy with a lot of reserved tables. Nice atmosphere. Definitely in the top 3 places we are.

We had dinner at The Green Room and were genuinely impressed by the quality of the food. The fajitas for two were outstanding, beautifully seasoned, generous in portion, and easily the highlight of the evening. I’d strongly recommend that dish to anyone visiting. However, the overall experience was a mixed bag. The music started off with a pleasant Brazilian vibe, but gradually shifted into very loud deep house. It quickly became overwhelming and made conversation difficult, especially as the evening progressed. The restaurant was clearly understaffed. Our beers (2nd drink order) were served only after we had already finished our main course, which detracted from the dining experience. The staff were doing their best under pressure, but the delays were noticeable. The venue was packed, which shows how popular the place is but it also meant a noisy environment and longer waiting times. If you value food above all else, it’s worth the visit. If you’re looking for a more relaxed, well-paced evening with attentive service and a pleasant ambiance, this might not be your first choice.

Good food here. If you’re veggie or vegan they have a few options which is a great find. The sweet potato flautas were delicious. The piri piri wing are SPICY be forewarned haha. Will say a bit of a strange atmosphere maybe just not our vibe. But over all good food and service.

Great Mexican restaurant in the heart of Lagos. Vegetarian friendly. Big selection of dishes. They have great cocktails and a good happy hour deal. They also have very tasty non-alcoholic drinks. We had the homemade lemonade and ginger ale which were yummy. We ordered tortilla chips, taquitos and fish tacos between the 2 of us and left very full. Can be quite busy in the evenings so would recommend making a reservation. We were lucky that a couple sitting outside didn't mind sharing their table with us.

Absolutely delicious! The tacos were bursting with flavor and the margaritas were perfect. We wasn’t too hungry supposed to eat one dish but we ordered after another 4 dishes. Can’t wait to come back.
Ragi P — Google review
Don’t hesitate to try this restaurant if u love Mexican food. Next level tastes. Had beef tacos with gravy (Beef Birria) and pork burrito - so so good. Staff extra friendly and amazing cocktails.
Anne R — Google review
Exceptional! My wife and I travel to many wonderful locations and the food and margaritas here was superb. We can here other guests say the same 😉 thing as we finish our meal. The only downside is we are leaving tomorrow. There was no upselling, in fact we were made aware of all ‘afternoon specials’. I’m taking the rest of my meal with me, portions are great.

Restaurant
Mar d'Estórias is a versatile destination that offers a delightful blend of experiences. Whether it's morning, afternoon, or evening, this multifunctional space has something for everyone. Indulge in the finest fresh and healthy products, including their renowned carob and fig homemade bread. The carefully restored Renaissance church houses a shop where you can find high-quality Portuguese products and souvenirs displayed beneath a beautiful vaulted ceiling.
Hidden gem on the rooftop. The rump steaks were great, but the roasted octopus was amazing. The service is phenomenal and the vibe is just right. All the products are Portuguese
MaD ( — Google review
Cozy rooftop restaurant on top of an interesting building with a nice interior. We loved both food and service. I highly recommend the pork cheeks (only available for dinner) aswell as the tuna steak. My cocktail (mojito) wasn‘t that good to be honest and you definetly have to improve on that one but since everything else was really good I will stick with a 5 star rating. I highly recommend this place.
Dennis F — Google review
It's definitely nice rooftop, however adjust your food expectations. I didn't like a sweet potato with octopus, but I octopus was tasty. Small portions. You need a reservation in advance
Nik — Google review
The restaurant in the rooftop is excellent! It offers some traditional plates in a unique way, everything we tried (desserts included) was delicious! You cannot miss the roasted octopus, one of the best things I've ever tried! Service was friendly and efficient, made us feel comfortable! All in all, a lovely experience!
Nikos K — Google review
Restaurant review only: Overall, the experience was disappointing. Our bill was surprisingly high — about the same as another restaurant where we had far more food of much higher quality. The chorizo appetizer was overcooked, the bread that came with it was worse than supermarket bread, the fries were dry, and the octopus was rubbery (though the sweet potato purée on the side was a highlight). The burger was average, and the sangria was truly bad — especially compared to the other 11 sangrias we tried in this area and Lisbon. On the positive side, my sister enjoyed their gin cocktail called Gharb. The rooftop itself is very windy, with no glass screen to block the gusts, and they don’t accept walk-ins; reservations are required (at least on Sunday and Monday when we tried). Overall, I’d recommend choosing a different place to dine.
K C — Google review
Small rooftop terrace restaurant above an interesting shop full of Portuguese products/souvenirs. We were lucky and managed to get a table before the dinner crowd, but reservations might be safer as a few people that came afterwards were turned away. Our waiter Jaka was really cheerful and friendly and helped get lovely photos of us dining! We enjoyed the rump steak and tuna steak (the plating was very fine dining-esque) and a selection of local desserts. The lemonade was a bit too sour for us, but we still finished it. Overall was a lovely experience 😊

Restaurant
Nah Nah Bah is a laid-back joint known for its locally sourced, organic burgers and cocktails. The place offers a take-out option as well. It's famous for its mouthwatering selection of burgers, with the Toucan burger being one of the top 50 in the world. The reggae-themed vibe and fast, friendly service add to the experience.
Had one of the best cheeseburgers I’ve ever had here! We also ordered chips and guacamole and it was very good. Good vibes! This is one place to have on your list to try while visiting Lagos. Will definitely need a reservation if dining after 6, we walked in when no one was there and immediately got a table between 5-5:30. It was packed by the time we left.
Shannon A — Google review
The restaurant really gives you the feeling of a bar atmosphere. Since I was there alone, I sat at the counter. I still liked it a lot. There are many burgers to choose from, including one vegetarian and one vegan option. I went for the vegan one. Normally, the burger comes with chips, but since I’m currently on a health kick, you can also get a salad for an extra charge. Really delicious and highly recommended! The music inside is very loud, and the voices of the other guests blend together, which makes it hard to understand things. I actually like that, though—it’s definitely a matter of taste. Overall, it’s a very lively place with a great vibe. The staff were also very kind and attentive. Would happily come back!
Chiara M — Google review
Really wanted to like Nah Nah Bah but came away less than impressed following an average culinary experience. The food we ordered was smothered in too much sauce and cheese; it was an over saturation experience which not only seemed unhealthy but also simply over the top. You could have added any meat from venison to wild boar and you wouldn’t have tasted a difference. There was so much sauce and cheese weighing down the burgers that it necessitated a fork and knife. Burgers fell apart easily due to the weight of the add-ons. If you enjoy this type of over saturation, Nah Nah Bah might be for you. Just not our thing.
Steve S — Google review
We visited Nah Nah Bah in Lagos and had two burgers with homemade chips. The food was absolutely delicious very good! The burgers were packed with flavor and the chips tasted fresh and unique. The location itself is cozy and welcoming, perfect for a relaxed meal. On top of that, the staff was extremely friendly and attentive, which made the whole experience even better. Definitely a place we would recommend and come back to!
Kingpin _ — Google review
We ordered two vegan burgers and were very happy. The burgers were ready extremely quickly, the service was super friendly and welcoming. Taste-wise, the burgers were absolutely delicious—fresh, juicy „meat“ flavorful, and well seasoned with a housemade Sauce. The fries were especially good, particularly with the homemade aioli. Highly recommended!
Nadia K — Google review
Best burgers in town. Their nah nah chips are incredible. I had the chicken and chorizo burger and added pickles and bacon. I can't wait to return. The restaurant does craft beers, wines, spirits, and cocktails. I'd recommend the bottom line cocktail. The staff are lovely and the restaurant is such a vibe! Such a cool spot. We cannot wait to return!
Stephen M — Google review
It’s a decent burger bar but coming from Calgary I think I’m spoiled for good burgers. Service was friendly and fast. Highlight of the dish are the chips they served on the side absolutely heavenly. Please come hungry as this was extremely filling.
WanderlustYYC — Google review
We went here a few days ago for our anniversary and it was a 12/10 experience! Even without a reservation, the service was incredibly attentive, welcoming, and full of great recommendations. We even received some little extras on the house, which made it feel even more special. The atmosphere was fantastic and the food absolutely delicious. Highlights: the house margaritas (amazing!), the arancini with a super tasty dip, world-class burgers (including the vegan one), truly addictive chips, and to finish, brownies with a digestif. Everything was perfect from start to finish. Anyone visiting Lagos should definitely come here — highly recommended and we’ll certainly be back!

Transportation in Lagos

Getting around Lagos can be a little daunting if you’re new here. We can help list some of the major public transportation methods if you don’t want to rely on a car.

Faro International Airport

International airport
Airport
Faro International Airport is the main airport serving the Algarve region in Portugal, offering flights to various European destinations and convenient coach links to Faro. The city itself is known for its family-friendly atmosphere, charming streets, and beautiful beaches. The airport is described as quiet and spacious, with modern facilities and helpful staff. While it's a small and easy-to-navigate airport, some travelers find the pedestrian bridges leading to the terminal to be inconveniently long.
Nice airport , good take off and landing time. Good stores & great cafes. Two dogs were sitting on the laps comfortably & flying …
Dragon S — Google review
A small but efficient airport that handles the Algarve region’s traffic well, especially during peak summer months. It’s relatively modern, clean, and easy to navigate, with relatively quick check-in and security processes compared to larger international airports. The layout is pretty simple, and signage is clear, which makes arrivals and departures smooth even for first-time visitors. There are a few cafés, souvenir shops, and duty-free options inside, but food and retail choices are limited, so it’s a good idea to eat or shop before arriving if you have specific needs. Car rental services are located just outside the terminal, and there are plenty of taxis available, though prices can spike in high season. Public transport into Faro is possible via bus but not always frequent, so plan accordingly. It’s a functional airport that gets the job done without much fuss…just be prepared for crowds and longer lines in peak season, especially at passport control. Arriving at least 2 hours before your flight is recommended.

A decent airport with good wifi. It is 24/7, and there are some banks ehere you can overnight if needed. Toilets are clean. Staff ls friendly. There are no water stations though.

October! 0/5 stars. This has got to be the worst airport I've ever visited and I've been to many. There's an EU part and a non EU part. The EU part has 1 restaurant and then nothing but some machines. There's about 100.000 passengers in there (obvs not but you know what I mean), so it's extremely crowded and on the verge of being dangerous as people are rushing to get food. I've never seen so many people in an airport before. People are sitting everywhere on the floors, the stairs and next to the gates. It's greatly under dimensioned for the amount of passengers. Meanwhile the non EU part looks very still, spacious and with loads of restaurants and cafes like Burger king and coffee shops. We had trouble breathing and almost passed out due to the crowds in the EU terminal, it was a very very uncomfortable experience. Also: the airport lacks screens to check gates and the webpage does not display gate information. The WiFi also sucks. There's one toilet in the whole terminal so expect long lines.
Hanne H — Google review
Quite easy to get around this airport, quite well-signed,members of staff happy to assist,in directing us. Yeah, passport control is extremely busy, however, we were quite fortunate to have only been in a (reasonably quick-moving,queue,for half an hour), as opposed to an hour and half eg,as iv read on other travellers reviews. There was one particular female member of staff who was very good (though a little scary! Haha), on directing people to the desks so as to have the queue moving, reasonably quickly. Shops are OK,however, not many cafes, and I feel, not enough seating either-if the cafes are full. Anyway, it could be worse! The toilets are clean- at least u didn't pay to pee, unlike brussels South Airport, for example.
Norma M — Google review
This airport is an absolute disgrace for Europe. The customs control for EU citizens is a complete disaster – waiting times are 10 to 15 minutes, and the staff look like they simply don’t want to work. The pace is unbelievably slow, with some officers literally dozing off at their desks. For European standards, this is completely unacceptable – it’s honestly worse than some airports in Indonesia. If this is supposed to be the gateway for EU travellers, then the management seriously needs to rethink how things are organized and how the staff perform their duties. Instead of standing around and doing nothing, they should realize that their job is to serve passengers, not to delay them.
Pavol K — Google review
If airports had personalities, Faro would be the calm, intelligent and charming one ✈️ Faro Airport is genuinely one of the best airports in the world. 🌏 Clear layout, logical structure, fast security, friendly staff - everything simply works without chaos, drama, or 30-minute walks or transfer-trains between gates. And most importantly: There are seats for everybody ✅ It’s peaceful, functional, human and refreshingly normal. Honestly, I wish more “global hub airports” would learn from Faro. Would fly from here again any day 🙏🏻❤️
