After visiting Ise Grand Shrine, we found a bar called Ise Kadoya Beer in the nearby old street. The weather was extremely hot, so the seven of us immediately decided to order a drink to cool down. The IPA inside was decent, but what really stood out was a special beer made with sake yeast. It was incredibly refreshing with a slight sourness, very drinkable and enjoyable. This unexpected beer experience added a cool and delightful touch to our trip.

Amazing location and the meal was a great selection of delicious meals popular in the area. Had local oysters prepared steamed and fried with rice, salad and additional sides which were amazing 😍. I highly recommend it if you ever make it to this popular area in Ise-Shima.

The craft beer was awesome. The fried oysters were not bad but not that fresh. When you order beer at the store front, you can grab a seat at the seats near the entrance not the tables further inside. They are available for dinner.

I have eat a great quality and tasty Unagi with rice accompanied with an amazing soup broth and Japanese pickles. All of this in a Japanese style table in tatami. Great restaurant!

Came here on a pilgrimage as I really love their beer. Got a six beer tasting set and sat on the peaceful outdoor terrace at the back, overlooking the river. Heaven. Didn't try the food.

Randomly visit during trip to Ise. This restaurants offer one of the best Unagi that I have ever tasted. Unfortunately, I drove a car during this trip. Thus, I had no chance to taste the beer. :( My wife said beer is really good. Staff is really nice and welcome foreigner guests. Will come back in the future for sure.

Very calming and cool atmosphere surrounded the entire area, if you go to visit Ise Grand Shrine I definitely recommend taking the bus out to Amano Iwato. Just make sure the bus will still be running when you’re ready to leave or else you’ll get stranded like I did!!

It was an easy walk to a source of the water, which is selected as one of the best quality water 100 in Japan and Amno-Iwato. if you like to go up further for the small shrine of Sarutahiko or/and a wind hole, you can have even more exercise.

Visitors would walk upwards from the information centre to the observation deck which was an exercise during the day. The staff could assist to call taxi and was very friendly. There was a video show with different language versions. Washroom was clean. Food and drink were available in the cafe on the observation deck up the hill.

The last place for you to have toilet, before you get up to the observatory. The staff is nice. I got some postcards from here.

Parked close to Observatory Deck. It was super quiet at 4pm. It’s a short walk up to the observation deck (wheelchair ok ramp). The cafe behind the deck has open windows and serves light drinks. The view is south west. It’s spectacular but not good for a sunset.

The view is nice from the observation platform. You can see the inland sea and islands clearly. There is a small cafe there as well. The parking space is limited, so you might have to park at the bottom and hike for about 7-8 minutes. The bike parking is also at the base only.

The views of Ago Gulf were stunning, even on a cloudy day – definitely worth a visit. Parking was a bit limited, so we had to wait about 5 minutes. The road in was narrow and winding, so we took it slow. But the real highlight was the terrace, which was easy to reach via a gentle slope – perfect for all ages.

Amazing observation deck where you can see the Ise shima islands. It’s free and has a cafe on the deck. There are hiking trails as well. The parking is really close to the deck.

It seems like the local population know of it but it’s not really know to tourists. While I was here, I explored the whole park in around an hour then went on all of the rides. Each ride had a wait time of approximately 2 minutes (just waiting for the last group to finish). I was really impressed with the large roller coaster “Pyrenees”. It had features similar to the flying dinosaur at universal. The other rides also had no line and were really fun. If you’re planning to eat here, grab the smoked chicken and a churos. Nailed it.

I definitely had fun at this park. It is a mellow and quieter version of Disneyland. I'd rather visit this theme park as it was not so crowded, rides are thrilling, and my favorite, is that there is no queue. You can absolutely take as many rides as you want.

It was easy to navigate and walking through the tall trees was cooler on such a hot summer's day. Take time to marvel at the craftsmen that built this place.

I know City of Shima is not wealthy, but it requires more maintanance. The view from the observatory deck is outstanding-especially the sunsets from Yokoyama deck is magnificent.

The whole area of Ise is beautiful and a little hidden away from all the tourists. Still lots of hidden gems to find here!

We didn't have a booking but the kind staff helped us on the day. The site is well kept and beautiful. The beach is just a couple of minutes walk. The showers, toilets and camp kitchen were so clean and tidy. The staff were so friendly and helpful. Can't recommend this place enough. Will definitely return one day soon!

We have great respect for people who have been working hard for generations in this region, so visiting, tasting, and supporting them is almost a must when near these places. Some people may find the taste of the seafood quite special (for example, turban shell, which I personally don't like), but the portions are generous (the meal also includes rice, pickles, and miso soup). We couldn't communicate much as we don't speak Japanese, but it's possible to hire a translator if you're really interested in the Ama history. I would definitely recommend this tasting to anyone, whether local or from overseas.

It was a unique experience for sure, and the ama divers were friendly and hospitable. I do think you’re paying more for the experience than the food, but the seafood served was also quite fresh and simply grilled. You get to watch them grill the food for you (we were lucky to have one room to ourselves). I think you’re also supposed to be able to learn more about their lifestyles and stories, but maybe that’s only for Japanese-speaking folk as they didn’t initiate conversations with us to share their tales! There’s also a nice stretch outside the hut to walk along the water. I’m not quite sure if the way we went there was the wrong way, but the road was very narrow and windy, with barely enough room for one car. Nearing the place, there’s also a “three way road” — the one to the left leads to a little house / shop / restaurant, another leads to a really steep diagonal slope up, and the last one straight forward past the “wall” that leads to what looks like a port. The correct way in is the steep slope, but we chose to park below instead and then it’s just a 5 min walk in. We did see another road / parking area on the other side of the ama hut, so there might be another way in other than what our GPS told us.

Quite an experience! Friendly staff who were willing to communicate in English even though they didn’t speak very well. Also kept me informed by emails before the event. Understandably the ama who served me didn’t speak English at all but she was also a very nice person. Tried very hard to talk to me in Japanese. I happened to know so so very little Japanese that I could barely tell the name of seafood. Ate in a small hut with tatami mat. The seafood were very fresh. Didn’t seem to have a lot for each lunch set but trust me, it’s more than enough and tasted fantastic thanks to the cooking skill of ama. She grilled everything just right. By “just right” I actually meant perfect! Got one squid per set. Not a big squid but that should fill your stomach very well. After the meal you might want to have a walk on the beach just across the street. An interesting experience.

If you eat fish, many of the seafood and fish is locally caught, some by the Ama divers themselves.
