Iida in 3 days

If you only have 3 days to spend in Iida, we’ve narrowed down the top places you should check out to get the best experience of your time here.
Iida offers a mix of mountain scenery and traditional culture in southern Nagano, set along the Tenryu River with easy access to hiking, river cruises, and nearby hot springs. The city is well known in Japan for its long puppetry tradition, showcased at the Iida Puppet Festa and local theaters. You can also explore preserved old town streets, local markets, and regional foods such as Shinshū-style soba and specialties using local produce. Its relatively compact size and relaxed pace make it a good base for exploring the wider Ina Valley and Southern Alps area.
With favorites like Iida City Zoo, Kawamoto Kihachiro Puppet Museum, and Iida City Museum, we’ll make sure you don’t miss out on all the must sees. We even included some of our favorite food spots around the area, like Shanghai-ro and ナチュラルキッチンTESSHIN so you can get the best taste of Iida while you’re here. To see our full list of food recommendations, check out our best restaurants post. If you're traveling on a budget, you can check out our cheap eats post.

Points of Interest & Landmarks
Moto-Zenkoji Temple is an ancient and beautiful temple in Nagano Prefecture, Japan. Visitors come here to make wishes for a good year and offer prayers to the Kamisama. While entry is free, visitors are expected to throw Japanese coins into the offering box when praying or purchasing lucky charms. The temple is also known for exhibiting a hidden Buddhist statue every 7 years. The surrounding area offers picturesque views of autumn leaves and ample parking space for both cars and buses.
I went here in the new year's day of japan. It is a beatiful and ancient temple. Lots of visitors come here and tell the Kamisama( just like Gods) their wishes for a whole good year with Heath and so on. You have to pay no fee to come here, it's free to everyone. But when you pray in front of the sacred object, you have to throw some Japanese coin into the offering box. Or when you want to purchase some lucky charm to write your own wish then hang over it at the temple, you have to pay money. It's about 600¥

It's a famous temple on the Iida train line. There is a black tunnel under the temple as there is in the main Zenkoji in Nagano City. However, here you keep your shoes on. I recommend the experience of walking through the initiation tunnel. The hillside setting is peaceful.

(Translated by Google) This was my first visit. It was a weekday morning, and with the heat, there were few visitors. I didn't try copying sutras because I'm not very good at writing with a pen. So, it was my first time to go on a pilgrimage to the Kaidan. I checked the hourglass at the entrance, turned it over, and started. It really was pitch black! As I was walking alone, there was no sign of anyone else, and although I felt a little lonely as a grown adult, I managed to finish safely. It was a valuable experience. Next time, I think I'll try the Manji Kaidan pilgrimage at Seki Zenkoji Temple.

(Translated by Google) It's been 30 years since I last visited. I thought it was much larger. Memories are hazy. There aren't many parking spaces. Copying sutras is free, and so is the pilgrimage to the Kaidan. However, the pilgrimage to the Kaidan is a short distance.

(Translated by Google) We visited for my grandson's Shichigosan ceremony. We had to ask for a prayer at short notice, but they kindly made time for it. There were chair seats, which was convenient for the children. There were many mudras making, so the children didn't get bored. From the bottom of the stone steps, you can drive up to the main hall by taking the narrow path on the right. This was very convenient for those in a wheelchair. The toilets are located at the back of the park along the narrow path, and are just a short walk down the stone steps from the main hall.

Nestled in the heart of Iida, the Iida City Museum is a captivating destination that beautifully intertwines art, history, and nature. This expansive facility showcases an impressive array of exhibits, including a fascinating dinosaur skeleton and a planetarium that will surely delight visitors of all ages. A highlight within its grounds is the Kunio Yanagita Memorial Hall, which honors the renowned father of Japanese ethnology and folklore studies.
I learnt many new things. ☺

(Translated by Google) This is an art museum built on the site of the Ninomaru of Iida Castle. It takes about 20 minutes on foot from Iida Station, but please take advantage of the free Pucchi Bus that runs from the station every 30 minutes to an hour from April to November on Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays. The nature (weather, topography, paleontology, etc.) and culture (history, lifestyle, art, etc.) of Iida Shimoina are exhibited. You can also learn from presentations and report sessions by people who are conducting research in the local area. It's also the birthplace of Yoshio Tanaka, the father of Japanese museums, and Shunso Hishida, a Japanese painter from the Meiji period, so you might be able to see materials you won't find anywhere else. Currently, a special exhibition commemorating the 150th anniversary of the birth of Shunso Hishida, ``The Path of Creation: Steps to Painting Scrolls of the Four Seasons, Landscapes,'' is currently being held. Until November 4th (Monday, holiday). There is an exhibition of sketches, copies, and sketches of Shunso that were donated to Iida City by his bereaved family, showing how he continued to study hard throughout his life. Also, does Shunso have a habit of suddenly starting the actual work without drawing a rough sketch? It seems that there was a similar issue, and some works that were not completed or were incomplete are introduced. It is said that he originally intended to dispose of it, but apparently he became ill in his later years and was unable to dispose of it before passing away, so it remained in the hands of his family. The highlight this time is the masterpiece picture scroll "Shiki Landscape" from his later years. Works from the National Museum of Modern Art, Tokyo are coming to Iida City! In addition, the remaining small sketches and large sketches are displayed side by side, giving a good understanding of the production process. Special exhibition admission fee: 700 yen. You can also view the permanent exhibitions inside the museum. Other cultural facilities in the city include the Toyama Folk Museum, Yanagita Kunio Museum, Shusui Bijinga Art Museum, Archaeological Museum, Shunso Park, a retro elementary school next to Mihaku, and Iida Castle Sakuramaru Gomon (Red Gate). My son (4 years old) loves dinosaurs, and whenever he sees something dinosaur-like on a poster or exhibit here, he requests, "I want to go here again!" In our house, it's no longer a "museum" but a "place with dinosaurs" (laughs). It's not actually a dinosaur-only facility, but depending on the timing, there are dinosaur-themed exhibits and posters, so you can enjoy a little discovery every time. And there's a planetarium! It's also nice to have the option to choose, like, "Which way should I go today? Art? Space?" My son always takes the mysterious golden route of dinosaurs → planetarium → picking up fallen leaves. Adults can also quietly look at the works, and the exhibits change frequently, so it's a place that makes you think, "Let's come again." The staff are kind, and it's a museum where parents and children can enter without feeling nervous. Before I knew it, I had become a regular. (Translated by Google) I was truly moved by the Kawamoto Kihachiro Puppet Museum in Iida City. It displays many puppets used in NHK puppet shows like "Romance of the Three Kingdoms" and "The Tale of the Heike," and each one is so powerful it seems almost lifelike. The artisans' passion and soul are evident in the beautiful facial expressions and costumes, carefully crafted down to the smallest detail. The lighting and presentation of the exhibits are also excellent, drawing you into the world of the puppets. However, the more I look at these puppets, the more captivating their lively faces, dazzling costumes, and dignified presence become. The entrance is FREE!!! But, for some animals, you need to pay some ¥. The nearest parking is a paid parking but it is free for 2 hours. It is a small zoo with limited area and time. It closes at 4.30. When we went, we had only 15 minutes left, so we had to rush and see everything at once. There are limited animals. The staffs are nice. There is a purikura so maybe you can have some fun with pictures. There is a play area for children and engage into many games. Although, it doesn’t have that wow factor but it is still good for watching live animals and knowing about it.

If you're on the hunt for a delightful culinary experience in Nagano, look no further than Shanghai-ro. This beloved local gem serves up an impressive bowl of char siu noodles that truly embodies comfort food at its finest. The smooth and chewy noodles are perfectly complemented by a light soy sauce broth that clings to each strand, creating a harmonious blend of flavors.

There is a parking lot for about 4 to 5 cars on the left side of the front of the store, but it's not that big, so you have to be careful when parking. I ordered the upper eel. We were a group of 6 people, but the food was served quickly. It's probably not served from scratch and grilled. I imagined that it would have been made in advance and served warm as it was grilled. The taste was quite to my liking. The sauce is a little sweet, but I prefer it to the spicy one. I think it's Kansai style without steaming. The grilled liver was also delicious. However, I really wanted to eat freshly grilled, piping hot, crispy eel. However, realistically, unless it is a very prosperous restaurant, it would be impossible for a grilling chef to constantly grill and serve freshly grilled eel. Perhaps because of this, I feel that only very famous restaurants are operating with the delicious smell of grilled eel smoke these days. Day 2

For day 2, we recommend exploring the north side side of town. Start the day off with Tenryukyo Gorge, then wind down and take it easy by the time you get to Omiya Suwa Jinja. All together, your day would be filled with about 8 hours of non-stop fun.

Scenic spot
Tenryukyo Gorge is a stunning river gorge renowned for its hot springs and vibrant autumn foliage, making it a popular destination for boating. The area features notable spots such as the 'Tsutsuji Bridge' and the new attraction 'Sora Walk Tenryukyo.' The gorge, carved by the Tenryu River, offers a picturesque landscape with granite formations shaped by water pressure and weathering. Visitors can take boat rides along the river to admire the breathtaking scenery.
Beautiful gorge. Take the official trail. Walking under the skybridge was not as impressive as we thought due to the fact that the floor is made of concrete and not glass or metal (to see through) The buildings where tou find videos and explanations are totally free

Not a must go tourist spot, but if you are in the area, you will appreciate this scenic spot. Blessed with incredible weather, we enjoyed the autumn colours here, passing by after we visited the fruit farms nearby. We also felt all the local efforts that poured into this little spot to make it tourist friendly - classical nippon hospitality!

There are suspension bridges, stairs, and scenic spots including an observation deck, and it takes less than an hour. If you try to walk to Tenryukyo Bridge (Sora Sanpo Tenryukyo), it will be quite strenuous, so it is best to make this a separate trip by car to Tenryukyo PA. The Old Yamamoto Kinehara Schoolhouse is a charming destination that transports visitors back to the Showa era. This historic wooden school, built in 1949 and recognized as a national tangible cultural property, has been meticulously preserved and even served as a filming location for movies. The surrounding grounds are equally enchanting, featuring stunning cherry blossoms in spring and vibrant maple and ginkgo leaves in autumn.
We were lucky as when we arrived it was closed. We walked around the outside for 5 minutes and miraculously someone came to open it up as we were leaving. So we got to see the inside. What a remarkable piece of Japanese history.

Apparently there were a lot of issues when the school was merged with a neighboring school at the end of the Showa era, but it was eventually closed down. More recently (mid-Heisei era?) it has become famous for the giant cherry blossom tree in front of the school building, and in the spring it attracts many tourists and photographers. (Translated by Google) I was staying at Hirugami Onsen in Achi Village the day before and was looking for interesting tourist spots nearby when I found this one and decided to visit. I'd previously visited the old Toyosato Elementary School (the model for the KEION) on the shores of Lake Biwa, an old elementary school, but this one had a different mid-Showa era feel. The day I visited was the local neighborhood association's sports day, so there were tons of cars, lively announcements, and stalls, and I imagined a quiet school, but I was pleasantly surprised. At first, it seemed like I couldn't even enter the school building, but after walking around, I found an unlocked door and was able to tour the inside of the building. Seeing the students competing against their district (village) peers, holding flags and wearing bibs on their chests, was like traveling back in time 60 years. Among the many drinks on offer in the district area seating, there were boxes of beer and highballs. So Showa-era! I tried some gohei mochi (rice cakes) being sold at a stall, and unlike the ones you get at regular souvenir shops, they were made with sweet miso and walnuts, which was delicious. I was disappointed that the night before was cloudy and the night stargazing cruise at the inn was cancelled, but I was happy to have made some good memories here the next day. Omiya Suwa Jinja is a captivating shrine that offers visitors a unique blend of tranquility and vibrant activity, depending on the time of year. Nestled in Iida City, it features long stone steps leading up to its serene grounds. While some may find it quiet during off-peak times, especially in summer when insects abound, others have experienced lively celebrations during special events like New Year's Eve.
(Translated by Google) I visited at the end of 2022. I happened to be staying at a nearby accommodation, so I stopped by without any prior information, but there were surprisingly many people there and it seemed very lively. Not only did you hear the ringing of the New Year's Eve bell during the year-end and New Year holidays, but there were even fireworks going off. There were also shrine officials selling sake. On the way back, the road leading to the shrine was illuminated with lanterns, so I was able to walk safely. I think it's usually a quiet shrine, so I'd definitely want to stop by even during normal times. We were able to make some wonderful memories. I visited the company several times (including Saturdays and Sundays) during my stay in Iida City, but the company was always absent from the office. There is a place for tying fortunes, so will you be there when there are special events? It was a quiet shrine with no worshipers. It was dark in front of the shrine, and since it was summer, I got bitten by insects every time. A man who was cleaning near the torii gate under the stone steps came to talk to me, but I was a little confused by his smug explanation of the shrine. Ramen restaurant
Nestled in a bustling area, Shinkyotei is a charming ramen shop that captures the essence of traditional dining. During my visit around 2:30 PM, I noticed it was already gaining popularity with patrons filling up the counter. The ambiance is clean and inviting, complemented by warm service that makes you feel right at home. I indulged in their Chinese noodles and fried dishes; the soba noodles were delightfully flat and straight, boasting a mild soy sauce flavor that was simply irresistible.

There was only one customer ahead of me, but after me, many people, both solo and in groups, arrived, filling up the counter, and it was clear that it was a popular restaurant, with about 80% of the seats occupied. I ordered Chinese noodles and fried food. The soba noodles were flat and straight, with a traditional, mild soy sauce flavor, and were delicious, with no trace of the bamboo shoots that I tend to dislike. The fried food was also served with a sauce, which was also meaty and delicious. I spent my meal thinking that this restaurant would become popular. The service was also pleasant, and I was delighted with the meal. Japanese restaurant
Yukimoto, a restaurant located in a serene area just a short walk from Iida Station, offers an exquisite Matsutake Mushroom and Beef Omakase course. Emphasizing local sourcing, most of the ingredients used are produced in Shinshu, ensuring freshness. The restaurant's spacious interior is impressive for an urban setting. The staff provides detailed explanations of the dishes, and while only offering set courses, they are flexible to accommodate varying budgets upon consultation with the owner.

"Inaka-ryori" featuring foraged vegetables and game meats. All meals are served in private rooms. The restaurant appears new (or newly renovated) but the location is somewhat suburban even though it's in a fairly remote area of Nagano. Late spring menu included many sansai with main course being kuma-hanasansho nabe. Local rice is featured which I found excellent in texture. Several dishes had Chinese twists. A monaka was served that resembled a NY-stylr bagel with scallion cream cheese and tomato! The local-style yakisoba served at the end was also delicious. If you've been to some of the other famous restaurants in this category such as Hirasansou or Tokuyamazushi, the experience and flavors are similar, although of course there are slight differences in the presentation and items served. The surroundings are not quite as country-like, though.

(Translated by Google) I had lunch here on the weekend. After entering the restaurant, I was shown to a private room. Before starting my meal, the chef greeted me. The theme of the course was "The Lingerings of Summer and the Beginning of Autumn." I was excited to hear that the course would include summer ingredients like sweetfish and the main autumn ingredient, matsutake mushrooms. I reserved the following course in advance: "Omakase Course @ ¥38,500 (tax included)" Perhaps because the ingredients changed from the original plan, the total cost came to about ¥55,000 per person (tax and service charge included). The dishes I actually had were as follows: Steamed Chestnuts →The chestnut rice made with glutinous rice was delicious. Approximately ¥10,000: Sweetfish, matsutake mushrooms, chestnuts & chestnut mousse, mushroom dishes (such as beef simmered in soy sauce) →The sight of autumn flavors and remnants of summer lined up in a row was impressive. The matsutake mushrooms were small but delicious. The chestnuts had a slightly sweet flavor. But the most impressive thing was the mushrooms with a liver sashimi flavor tossed in sesame oil. ◯ Matsutake Dobinmushi → Apparently, this dish was made using last year's dried matsutake mushrooms and the soaking water. It had a wonderful aroma. ◯ Gitaro Shamo (Gero City, Gifu Prefecture) → We had a Gitaro Shamo filled with autumn flavors, roasted whole. It had the chewy texture of a shamo (gamecock), but with a savory flavor and juiciness that you wouldn't expect from gamecock. ◯ Matsutake → The chef personally grilled a huge matsutake mushroom for us. Needless to say, it was delicious. ◯ Grilled Ayu (Sweetfish) → The fish meat was grilled, the bones were deep-fried, and the roe was tossed in the clear liquid from making miso. The roe was especially delicious. The aroma of the shiso blossoms was a perfect match. ◯ Matsutake Mushroom Oyaki → These Nagano Prefecture specialty oyaki were filled with matsutake mushrooms and mushroom cream. They paired perfectly with the thin-skinned oyaki. ◯ Soft-shelled Turtle and Maitake Mushrooms → The collagen-packed soft-shelled turtle was delicious! The soup was also delicious, and I drank every last drop. ◯ Eiza Eggplant with White Sesame Sauce → It was a huge eggplant! I couldn't help but place a 100 yen coin next to it to take a photo. It also paired well with the white sesame sauce. ◯ Nameko Mushrooms and Pear → The palate cleanser was elegant and delicious. ◯ Shirayaki Eel → In the garden outside our private room, which we could see, the chef's apprentice grilled two eels for us. Each of us had two different types of eel, both shirayaki and kabayaki. We started with the shirayaki. The white-grilled eel was crispy and fragrant, and delicious. ◯ Grilled Eel with Rice → I then had grilled eel and rice. Even though I was full, it was so delicious that I finished it all. ◯ Mont Blanc, White & Purple Grapes → The Mont Blanc was filled with ice cream made from milk from nearby Jersey cows. It was absolutely delicious. Nagano Prefecture's brand grapes, Shine Muscat and Queen Rouge, were also delicious. For drinks, we had the following: ・Saruku no Izumi Junmai Ginjo Sake (Iida City, Nagano Prefecture) ・Chogen Sake (81% polished rice ratio, Ina City, Nagano Prefecture) ・White Wine (Chardonnay, Nagano) ・White Wine (Koshu, Nagano) ・Red Wine (Pinot Noir, Niigata) The chef and his wife were extremely attentive and courteous. In addition to the food and ingredients, we also learned a lot about nearby restaurants and tourist spots. It was a lot of fun. The bill came to about 60,000 yen per person. We had a very happy time. Thank you for the meal!

Nestled in a charming locale, Cocorism is the perfect spot for a delightful dining experience. On a sunny holiday, I opted for their terrace seating, which offers an inviting atmosphere and ample space to relax. The venison cutlet lunch set was my choice, complemented by a self-serve salad buffet featuring fresh, locally sourced vegetables that were bursting with flavor. The carrot dressing was particularly noteworthy! For those visiting with furry friends, the dog-friendly terrace adds to its appeal.

It was leaning against the acquisition slot, but it was suddenly returned to its original position, which broke my heart. Maybe the employee was busy or misunderstood, but it was really weird and unnatural for a stuffed animal that was so close to being won to return to its original position. If it was going to return to its original position, there's no point in moving the stuffed animal that was in the way. I asked them to put my stuffed animal back, but they didn't understand. They made me feel good, but it was in a completely different place. I can't put it back because the other employees will get angry. (Translated by Google) This year marks the 400th anniversary of the construction of the Ogasawara family shoin, which remains in the remains of the Ogasawara clan house in Izuki. We followed Mr. Shinano Ogasawara from the anime ``Young Master of Escape'' and reached this point! Sadamune Ogasawara, the founder of the Shinano Ogasawara clan, was portrayed as the nemesis of the main character Tokiyuki Hojo in the first season of the anime ``Young Master of Escapes''. Their descendants, the Matsuo-Ogasawara clan, and their descendants, the Izuki-Ogasawara family, Nagao, set up a house here in 1600, and lived here for generations until the Meiji era. Most of the buildings other than the shoin have been demolished, but the shoin retains much of its original appearance and was designated as a national important cultural property in February 1952. It is said to be one of the rare houses in the country that still survives today as a house built by a local ruling family from the early Edo period, with hanging structures that jut out over cliffs, detailed construction, and extravagant pillars. Historically, the Izuki Ogasawara family, along with the Ashima/Chiku family (Takagi Village, Nagano Prefecture) and the Yamabuki/Zakoji family (Takamori Town, Nagano Prefecture), were ordered to undergo sankin-tatoshi, and served as a special hatamoto known as ``katoshi yoriai'' in Edo. It is said that he was commandeered by the Shogunate. These were explained to us by the staff at the adjacent Ogasawara Museum. I think it would be a good idea to make time to listen to the story after touring the museum. General admission to the museum is 300 yen. Closed on Mondays. The parking lot is on the side of the road under the castle grounds (next to JA Minami Shinshu Miho Branch). In addition, the modern Ogasawara Museum, which has a glass front, was designed by SANAA, which is affiliated with architect Kazuyo Sejima, who was designated as a Person of Cultural Merit this year, and is currently holding a special exhibition commemorating the 25th anniversary of the Ogasawara Museum. . Until Friday, December 27th. You can see models and drawings of the museum, as well as videos of the original design. Other sites include Kotokuji, the family temple of the Izuki Ogasawara family (on the north side of the former Ogasawara family shoin), and Kamikawaji Kaizenji, which was developed by Ogasawara Sadamune to rule Shinano (spring cherry blossoms, wisteria, and peony flowers). (Famous as a temple), from the early Sengoku period There are still many related sites, such as the Suzuoka-Matsuo Castle ruins (which is now a park and can be enjoyed by the whole family), where a mountain castle was built when the Shinano-Ogasawara family split, and Ogasawara Hidemasa, the lord of Iida Castle who served Ieyasu during the Sengoku period (there is a red gate on the Iida Castle ruins). The shoin ruins of the Jinya still retain their original appearance, including the unusual hanging cliff structure and a decorative window that allowed visitors to see the autumn leaves in the garden. It was a place with an outstanding atmosphere that made you think you were in Kyoto. The person in charge explained everything in detail, which I was very impressed with. It seems that there will also be an illumination of autumn leaves. At the back of the shoin was a museum of modern architecture. This museum was apparently designed by Kazuyo Sejima, who is very famous in the world of architecture. This is also a building worth seeing. However, you can't get close to it by car. The front road is narrow and there is no parking space. We recommend parking in the parking lot along the prefectural road and heading there on foot. I'll be there in 2-3 minutes. Kaizenji, a renowned Buddhist temple, is famed for its captivating wisteria-covered trellis. However, if one plans to visit in June, the wisteria may have already withered away. Conversely, it appears that the hydrangeas bloom slightly later than expected. The temple's grandeur serves as a testament to its historical significance as Shinshu's largest Zen temple. In previous years, it was likely crowded with visitors seeking its charm.

(Translated by Google) There was no sign for Warabiya, but we found the place by the soba flag. We had 100% buckwheat soba, 91% buckwheat soba, tempura, and boiled wasabi flowers. The soba soup was absolutely delicious! The 100% buckwheat soba had thick noodles with a strong aroma and was very satisfying. The large colander in the photo is a large serving. It also seems to be available in limited quantities. The 91% buckwheat soba had thin noodles with a strong aroma and was easy to eat. We preferred this one. The tempura was ¥800 and all were delicious! The shrimp tempura was especially delicious, at ¥350, and worth ordering on its own. The shrimp were large, chewy, and crispy with a wonderful flavor. The shrimp tempura was very satisfying and recommended for those who don't want vegetables! I actually think it's quite cheap! The boiled wasabi flowers were ¥450 and only available at this time of year. It wasn't too pungent, so it was easy to eat. There seemed to be few customers today, but apparently there is usually a line. Opening hours are 11am to 11:15am.

Pizza restaurant
Hikonoki is a delightful pizza haven that stands out from the typical chain restaurants, offering an array of mouthwatering options. Their pizzas, which are generously sized at about 30 cm in diameter, provide a satisfying meal for one or two people. The classic margherita is consistently praised for its perfect balance of flavors—crispy crust, tangy tomato sauce, and aromatic basil. Seasonal offerings like smoked duck with cherry tomatoes add an exciting twist to the menu.
(Translated by Google) ~Exquisite pizza made by a famous master who looks good in glasses~ It's been a few months since I came back to Iida and I've been craving pizza, so I came back for the first time in a while. I ordered the standard margarita, and I can really feel the care put into each and every pizza here, and the balance between the crispy crust and the tomato sauce is so perfect that it's a work of art. The manager is also very fun and resembles the dandy Chisato Oe, and the way he bakes pizza is also very cool. I want to go eat there again (*^-^) (Original) ~メガネの似合う名物マスターが作る絶品ピザ~ 飯田に帰ってきて何ヵ月かたちピザの口になり久しぶりに来店しました。

(Translated by Google) For lunch, I had a Margherita (30cm in diameter) and a gateau chocolat. The margherita had just the right amount of sourness from the tomatoes and the dough was chewy, so it was very delicious ☺️ I was able to eat delicious food at a reasonable price, so I would like to visit again when I go to Iida again. I had a great experience here! the owner is so kind, and when he found out I was vegan he gave me special doughballs and vegetables, alongside soy vegan cheese on my pizza!

(Translated by Google) As stated on the website created by Hikonoki no Peraichi, this shop is run by the owner who trained at Savoy, a famous restaurant in Azabu Juban. It's been a while since I last visited, but as a Savoy fan, I wanted to give it a try, so I visited for lunch in September 2023 and ordered marinara, which was a touchstone of its taste. Although there is no peach tea, your favorite drink and salad with original dressing will be served as an appetizer, followed by a freshly baked pizza from the oven. It had the taste I expected from Savoy-style Neapolitan pizza, and I was quietly impressed because I never thought I'd be able to eat it in Iida City, where my parents live. The current Savoy, which has been relocated and renovated, seems to have more olive oil than before (maybe it was just a coincidence when I went there), which made me feel a little sick to my stomach, whereas this one is closer to the old Savoy, with a moderate amount. I felt it. Savoy has a very simple menu, especially for lunch, where there are only two types: marinara and margherita, and those who eat both can order a special pizza, but they also have other pizzas and dishes with various toppings. The owner's original arrangement is effective. I'm always satisfied with marinara and margherita, so I think I'll just eat those two forever, but the family I went with said that the other pizzas were also delicious. If you think of pizza in general, you may think of American pizza like Pizza La or Domino's, so some people may be confused by the gap between their expectations and Neapolitan pizza, but if you eat Napoli pizza, you will be satisfied. I think so. If you want to try the profound simplicity of marinara or margherita, but feel like it's missing something, it might be a good idea to try something with more ingredients. Of course, I think it's more delicious to eat piping hot pizza fresh from the oven than takeout. The owner's comment is a bit strange, but looking at other comments, I can feel the hardships of providing Neapolitan pizza in Iida City, so I hope they continue to do their best for a long time. This is a store I would like to visit if I have a chance when I return home.

(Translated by Google) The taste of the pizza was quite delicious and I was very satisfied! The texture of the dough was good, and it was a restaurant that I would want to come back to eat at again. However, I was a little concerned that the chairs were placed upside down at the unused table. Other than that, it was a restaurant with a nice atmosphere and delicious pizza!

(Translated by Google) I had the buffalo mozzarella margherita hungry set ➕ cherry tomato sauce and canelé. The pizza is about 30 cm in diameter and is quite filling, with a good balance of saltiness, sourness of the sauce, burnt edges of the dough, and fragrant basil and cheese, which shows the owner's commitment. Also, is the salad fresh lettuce and Parmesan cheese? A simple dressing of olive oil and olive oil ← This is important! (Until now, I have the impression that many places have used grated sweet ingredients such as carrots and onions, or vinegar-based dressings with a strong sour taste.) The iced coffee is authentic, with a slightly bitter and cloudy taste, like it was brewed with a drip machine (it's not the clear coffee you get on the market). And the canelé that was mentioned in the reviews. The frozen food is heated in the microwave and then baked in a wood-fired oven, so the outside is crispy and the inside is soft and goes well with coffee! It was one dish. High price based on word of mouth! Some people seem to be saying that, but I've eaten it all over the country, and I think it's pretty cheap for this quality. Finally, you can pay using electronic money or credit card even during the day. At this price even though there is a fee... I thought it was a very conscientious store.

(Translated by Google) It was my first time there. They had a salad for 2-3 people so I ordered that, but it was delicious, even though it was a little too much for two people. I also couldn't decide between the medium and large size pizza🍕, but there were two types to choose from so I went with the medium! It was the right choice. Everything was delicious. Next time I'd like to go for lunch. The atmosphere of the restaurant was also nice.
