Ryukyu Mura

Theme park
Ryukyu Mura is a recreation of a traditional Okinawan village, offering cultural performances and hands-on workshops. This open-air museum showcases old-world structures and provides insight into the culture, traditions, and history of Okinawa. Visitors can enjoy eisa performances, traditional music, and dance shows while exploring historic houses. The park also features local artisans making delicious donuts and tea for visitors to sample.
A taste of Okinawa Culture. What a treat! First time in Okinawa and wanted to learn about the culture in a compressed amount if time. From the music to learning about their every day lives to seeing a water buffalo, and sampling fresh made sugar cane juice and Awanori, this was a tremendous experience. Highly recommend!
Jason T — Google review
A memorable place to experience Okinawan culture firsthand. You can explore traditional village houses and enjoy the energetic Eisa drum dance performances, a great spot to immerse yourself in the island’s heritage.

Very Good experience to learn Okinawa history via dancing, singing shows; local cuisines in budget prices; 6 wine tasting for just ¥1000 (including 3 award winning wine) ; local tea and traditional snack tasting; butterfly and other animal farm。 Saw local secondary school students visiting there.
Fcpsutpn S — Google review
This is my second time here. There’s not much to do and the park is pretty small — you can see everything in less than an hour. But I still enjoyed the traditional show at the theater!
Tanapong K — Google review
I was hoping to learn more about Okinawan culture in Okinawa. This was really the only place we found that seemed to show that culture. Yes it's a tourist attraction, but could also be called a historical village. Something like Williamsburg in Virginia or Greenfield Village in Michigan. Staff was very welcoming and generous with sharing about the culture.
Jonathan S — Google review
I loved that the craft activities were outside of the paid area. I really wanted to paint, so it was such a relief to do it without having to enter the park and pay the entrance fee, which can be a bit pricey. There are also free rental strollers, which made everything even more convenient.
L. N — Google review
It's a Rykyu Village that takes you back in time. There Ryukyu style houses, household furnishings including a weaving machine. The iconic Nawa (Rope) from a former rope pulling contest held every year in October is on display. Please also allow time for Okinawa music and dance performances. Ryukyu Village is an hour and a half bus ride on Bus #120 at a Y1,250 one-way fare. But, in my opinion, it's well worth the effort. Okinawa's historical past is on full, magnificent display.
Ken K — Google review
The best experience during my time in Okinawa was exploring Ryukyu Mura and enjoying the traditional performances in this village. The access from Naha City is quite far, but you only need to take one bus, which stops right in front of Ryukyu Mura. It’s a beautiful and serene place with very friendly locals. We heard a unique story about Kijimuna are creature of the mythology native in the village, which made the visit even more memorable. Gaining new knowledge was the most meaningful part for me.

Bios Hill, located in the picturesque hills of Nago City, is a captivating nature park that celebrates Okinawa's natural beauty and diverse wildlife. Covering a vast area, this theme park offers a perfect blend of entertainment, education, and outdoor exploration. Visitors can enjoy interactive exhibits, scenic trails, and exciting attractions suitable for families and nature enthusiasts. The park features lush botanical gardens showcasing Okinawa's subtropical forests and orchids.
Fifteen years ago, when my children were young, I visited Bios Hill in Okinawa, and it remained a very good memory. I revisited Bios Hill in 2025, and maintained the concept of a place where I met the life of nature on a large site, and managed the natural scenery well. I listened to the commentary on a small cruise ship, looked at the animals and plants of the lake, walked through the natural garden. You can tour the lakes and subtropical forests by cruise or canoe, observe animals and plants closely, and communicate with them
JinHee C — Google review
A Short and Sweet Adventure – Totally Worth It! I spent a lovely day at BIOS Hill during a trip to Okinawa, and it was such a beautiful and worthwhile experience. Even though it was quite hot, the orchid tour was peaceful, short, and absolutely charming. While I didn’t understand the Japanese narration, the beauty of the surroundings spoke for itself. One of the highlights was seeing the water buffalo and enjoying a performance by a traditional Ryukyuan dancer — such a special cultural touch. I also purchased a gorgeous orchid to gift to my friend I was visiting, which felt like the perfect souvenir. While I didn’t bring any kids, I could definitely see it being a great spot for families — interactive, gentle, and full of nature. If you’re looking for a relaxing, culturally rich half-day adventure, I highly recommend BIOS Hill!

Came around opening time. The area is green and everything is made out of wood. Really nature friendly but when it comes to activities there really isn’t much. The entrance ticket includes the boat ride already which was nice however there is nothing to see in the river except a little water buffalo hidden and fenced in a corner and then a few plants. After that you have the choice of getting in the buffalo cart tour but it’s $20 for each adult. Food inside is very overpriced. Once you have done all of this you can go pet the goats and feed them some carrots. There are also some other stalls with water buffalo in them that you can go see. Place is mostly good for very small children who just want to run around in the green areas. Normally wouldn’t rate this low but since every other attraction in Okinawa is literally the same as this one, it’s nothing special. Botanical gardens is honestly better in my opinion. More animals to see and better activities
Lani R — Google review
Took a boat ride and hopped on a water buffalo cart—such a unique experience! There’s a bit of an entrance fee, but it’s totally worth it. The place was super quiet, probably because of the cloudy weather. It's a well-kept, immersive botanical garden and farm!

Orchids, orchids, everywhere!! Great spot for a nice afternoon visit. Amazing walk amongst the orchids, if you have kids, there's also a petting zoo- amazing spot!!, and best of all- not busy at all (on 1st November). Great visit!

Yen💴 Only!! It is 1800¥ per an adult. It was a nice way to spend a Sunday!! The park is a good size of walking and exploring variety of paths. The boat ride comes with the ticket so we just got on for a small rover tour. Tour is done in Japanese only. It came with information in English on a paper. We saw a water Buffalo and an eisa dancer. The park has a fun play area with toys,, things to climb, pet and feed goats and a pig! Followed many trails found cool spots to chill and swings!! I enjoyed walks through the jungle! Plenty of parking on site. Signs in japanese and English. Staff are super friendly!!!
Yuuki A — Google review
Fun and clean park great for families. Offering giant swings, "treehouse" style forts, pontoon boat rides, animals (to include goats!), and much more. A little cafe is in the park with soba, taco rice, tea, and ice cream. Vending machines and a gift shop also available. Plenty of free parking at the entrance of the park. Visa/card is accepted for ticket purchase, bring yen to buy food for the goats (200 yen)!

Beautiful place to walk. We were blessed with overcast and a little rain to cool us off. The boat tours focus on local plants and history. Overall, it's a great place for kids. It's kinda expensive, but it's worth visiting at least once.

Cave Okinawa, located in the north of Uruma, is the largest limestone cave complex in central Okinawa. Visitors can explore centuries-old stalactite formations along elevated walkways that are colorfully illuminated. The cave has undergone significant improvements over the years, with well-lit pathways and comfortable trails making it easily accessible for visitors. Despite the potential slipperiness due to dripping water inside the cave, it offers a cool escape from the summer heat of Okinawa.
Very cool inside! Not too long of a walk, so you can take your time and enjoy looking around. At the end, there’s a cafe. Good place to rest and enjoy gelato.
Milyn G — Google review
Just explored Cave Okinawa and I'm blown away! 😍 The limestone formations are stunning, and the underground scenery is breathtaking. I loved wandering through the cave on my own, taking in all the natural beauty. The atmosphere is so peaceful and serene. If you're visiting Okinawa, definitely add Cave Okinawa to your list - you won't regret it! 😊

There’s a lot of parking space., and it’s free. The admission fee is ¥1,200 for adults and 600 for kids. You can pay in credit card or cash(yen) no need to get advance ticket. You’ll walk a little bit before the entrance of the cave. There’s a bit of ascending stairs but it’s worth it. We went on a weekend so there’s other people waiting behind you. They open at 9 so I suggest to go early if you want to soak in the illumination and good photo spots. It’s a short walk inside the cave compared to other cave experiences. It’s good for little kids.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ A Beautiful Hidden Spot in Uruma City! The Cave Okinawa was such a cool surprise! It’s tucked away in a pretty quiet part of Uruma City, and while the area feels really peaceful and remote, it’s actually not far from the main road at all. The walk to the entrance is easy, and once you’re inside, it’s a comfortable path that slowly climbs until you come out on the other side. The cave itself is amazing—there are a few big open rooms and some incredible rock formations that really make you stop and take it all in. It’s such a unique, almost magical place to explore. And just when you think the experience is over, there’s a cozy little café waiting for you at the exit where you can grab some food, a drink, and even a few souvenirs. I’m really glad I made the stop and would highly recommend it to anyone visiting Okinawa.
Wayne J — Google review
This place was simply incredible! It surpassed even Universal Studios, Disney, and any other amusement park I’ve ever visited. The most unique aspect of this place is that it’s a real cave, and my family had an absolute blast. My daughter particularly enjoyed it. Unlike other places, there’s no need to wait in long lines. You can ensure your phone is charged and take a picture of the little treasure chest. When you’re done, show the picture at the café, and you’ll receive a secret present. Overall, you can have a fantastic time here. However, we were a bit nervous the day before because there had been an earthquake. You can imagine how we felt! One of the highlights of our visit was the bats in the cave. They were friendly and quite impressive. There are many stairs, but they’re not too overwhelming.
Giovanni A — Google review
Excellent place to visit if you enjoy caves. Take pictures of 3 hidden treasure chests to get your prize at the café. Excellent way to spend a Sunday. Don't want to share too many pictures because you need to see for yourself!
Rap R — Google review
Another great caving expedition, albeit somewhat randomly placed in middle of a field. Buy your tickets at the booth near the car park and walk to the entrance to explore the cave. Plenty of sounds and show lighting make this quite impressive. There is a modern cafe with toilets at the end of the walk.
Life's A — Google review
Very cheap activity to do with the family and amazing cave. I would not rush going through it. Really enjoy looking at everything and soak it in. If you rush it, you can get through it in about 10-15 minutes. You can buy tickets at a window of the entrance.

Perched on a cliff with sweeping ocean vistas, Katsuren Castle Ruins in Uruma City is a 15th-century stronghold that was once home to the formidable lord 'Amawari.' This site played a crucial role in the prosperous overseas trade of the Ryukyu Kingdom, engaging with China, Southeast Asia, and mainland Japan.
I've visited a few of the castles around Okinawa and this is one of my favorites. It's a little walk up to it but worth it. It's small and won't take too long to explore so it's good if you plan on seeing a couple of other place in a day. And parking was pretty convenient also. Oh and go see the museum too!
David B — Google review
Small castle ruins site which is a world heritage site. Sadly only able to see the remaining walls. Offers a great view on the top of castle. Free parking is a short distance away.
Jon P — Google review
We parked and bought tickets from the building on the right. ¥1200 for the 2 of us adults. We walked over to the castle and rode the golf cart up to the top. The scenery from the top was beautiful and the castle itself was interesting to read about on the placards. There are lots of stairs, so bring actual shoes not sandals. Afterwards we rode down and went inside the building to view the small museum portion. There was a video about the castle and the history of what happened there. There was also a little miniature setup of how the area was used during that time period. It was hot though, don't forget your water and hat or umbrella! Bring some ¥ to toss down in the cave on the top to pay your respects.
K M — Google review
If youre new to the island and want to explore, id say try this as your first castle/ruin to visit the tickets are 600 yen which include the entrance to the ruins and access to the exhibit at the visitor center which has relics dug up from the ruins and has a scaled down version of the whole ruins. Shows alot of history and indepth into the culture of why the castle was there. The walk up to the ruins is short but some areas are steep but they do have stairs. They also have a cart service to help those that cant walk well shuttle up and down the steep parts of the hills.

One of the best castle ruins in Okinawa. I heard the sunrise is beautiful there, but I yet to go and watch it
Brian S — Google review
If you want to explore all the castle ruins in Okinawa, I think you should start here! (before going to the others.) On site there is a museum telling stories about Okinawa Ryukyu kingdom and its kings/heroes. So you have achance to learn about the owners/builders of these castles. Thr ruins is on top of the nearby hill - you can walk or ask for a golf cart to take you up to the middle of the way up. Up there you have a good view of the nearby towns. The tourist office/souvinior shop on site is very nice, yet quite small. So you learn a bit plus a good stretch, highly recommended.
Ronrapee L — Google review
Extraordinary place. Not only do you get to explore the ruins which have magnificent views, there is a museum with interactive consoles, a short movie that explains the history and many displays. Highly recommend!
Freya'sdottir X — Google review
Inexpensive ticket for entry and plenty of parking. The museum at the beginning is very cool and contains loads of interactive information. The walk up to the ruins is beautiful and seeing everything up close was amazing. The view at the top is gorgeous, if you're in the area I highly recommend stopping by.

Sakae Ryoriten is a tranquil establishment that offers matured sake and traditional dishes featuring ingredients of the current season. This charming venue showcases exquisite Okinawan cuisine, which is executed flawlessly and boasts the highest caliber among local fare. The somen noodles are exceptionally delectable, while their rendition of pork trotter is extraordinary - tender and gelatinous on the inside, yet crispy on the outside. It is strongly recommended to visit this restaurant despite any potential challenges in reaching it.
All I can say is that this restaurant is absolutely amazing. The moment we walked in, we were extremely impressed with the ambiance and welcoming staff. Every single dish was unique and tasty, in addition to the wide selection of delicious and well priced drinks. Everything all together was great value and the staff were very helpful and even ordered us a cab home. This place is a MUST visit if you are in Okinawa!!!!!
Harry Y — Google review
1) If you’re looking for a beautiful ambiance and a clean restroom, this place fits the bill. 2) The food portions are quite small for the price, and I was puzzled by the fact that we had to share from a single plate instead of having individual servings. 3) The taste was just okay. We can have better meals for similar prices elsewhere. 4) The water isn’t complimentary. There was no prior notice about the charge, and I wasn’t shown what kind of water it was that cost 450 yen. I don’t mind paying for water, but a headsup would have been appreciated. 5) They don’t allow separate payments (it wasn’t busy when we were there). Even in casual izakayas or other fine dining spots, separate payments are usually not an issue. 6) The waitstaff were good, but the reservation and payment processes could be smoother. Overall, if you enjoy a bit of a challenge in your dining experience, you might like it here :)

There is no other restaurant in okinawa that compares to this. Pro: - diverse menu - traditional - delicious isn't even enough to describe it - environment /mood / romantic - Staff - parking and location Cons: - Hard to make a reservation (do not show up without one) - extremely popular with locals so hard to get last minute reservation (worth it to call 48 hours out) Before I became a regular and I could not find someone who spoke Japanese to make a reservation for my wife and I. I would drive there just to make a reservation. I miss this place so much!
Brian A — Google review
Lovely lovely high quality local Okinawan cuisine. The food here is extremely well executed and probably the highest level of local dishes. The somen is insanely delicious, and their rendition of the pork trotter, is just out of this world - soft and gelatinous inside but crispy on the outside. Highly highly recommend uou make a visit here no matter how difficult it is to get here

Really nice food for the price. A bit on the expensive side. The service was very good and the place felt very cozy. I visited on a weekday but even then it was hard to get a reservation 2 days before. I would suggest to reserve a table a few days in advance. Some of the food was slightly too salty for our taste, which is why I'm giving a 4 star instead of 5.

Taco restaurant
For more than 18 years, I've frequented King Tacos in Katsuren. Since relocating to their new facilities, there have been both pros and cons. On the positive side, they continue to serve their delectable tacos, taco rice dishes, and other enticing mains and sides. The service is speedy and courteous, facilitated by a prepayment machine. However, one drawback is the absence of previous in-house dining options available at their former establishment.
8/2023 Finally, our first KinTaco..! Get tickets at the machine, wait a bit, maybe get a juice at the vending machine and your number will be called in a few minutes! We ate at the beach on (?) Kaichu Road. Sooooo good. Lettuce kept falling out. Yum.

I wasn’t expecting much for tacos in Okinawa. If it was better than Taco Bell then I would be happy. So I ordered the four tacos with cheese and to my surprise they weren’t bad! It had a ton of lettuce and a full tomato slice that threw me off but the meat was tasty. My favorite part was the taco shell, it was incredibly tasty and had a great crunch. If I could do it all over again, I’d bring my own sour cream, Taco Bell hot sauce and call it an Emperor Taco!

Located in between the White Beach Naval and Heshikiya Port. This taco spot serves it up. There is a ticket machine upon entry with photos so you can order your meal. Once you get to the counter the lady will take your ticket, ask questions about things you would not like on your item, and give you a pickup number/ticket. When it’s time for pickup you’ll collect your item to either eat on premises or take away. The ladies are the cutest and a very well working group. From order to pickup I would say it was about a 15-min wait. This time included 2 prior orders as well.

Overpriced! For 4 tacos it went from 700 yen to 800 yen to 1000 yen in a short time. This is just greed and I won't be going back. There a much more affordable option for tacos near courtney.

Nakagusuku Castle Ruins, located on a wide limestone plateau, are the remains of a castle dating back to the 14th century. The castle's size and scale during that time remain unknown, but its strategic location in relation to Shuri Castle suggests it was expanded several times for defense against invaders. Built with huge stone cuts using hundreds or thousands of laborers or prisoners, this UNESCO World Heritage Site offers panoramic views of the surrounding waters.
From the castle ruins located atop the hill, you can catch a glimpse of the history of the ancient Ryukyu Kingdom. The scenery here is stunning, offering a breathtaking view of the Pacific Ocean. It’s definitely worth a visit!

Great place to see breathtaking views and get some impressive photos. Small fee to enter. They offer a free golf cart ride from the ticket booth to the entrance which was nice. You will have to walk up quite a few stairs to get to the top, but it's not bad at all and definitely worth it.

One of the best castles I've been to here. It is big enough to spend at least an hour here just looking around. The views from the walls overlooking the ocean are beautiful! You get a brochure that describes areas of the castle you will be viewing. They have a golf cart that drives you to the top. You follow the route around and you end up back at the bottom of the starting point. There is a very small shop that sells coffee and juices.
K M — Google review
This castle ruin is worth a day trip! The walk up to the front entrance is a little far so if they offer the cart to take you I'd get on. One of the coolest parts I thought was the active repair and reconstruction of one of the walls. Another thing was it wasn't busy. So if you have at least two hours on the weekend free I'd check this place out.

I had a delightful evening stroll, relishing the tranquil ambiance of a pet-friendly park. As I meandered, I discovered a stadium that provided an excellent vantage point to observe the football practice of a spirited group of teenagers.

A nice park where you can walk after having a good meal at the restaurant nearby. I loved the beach in front of it, and that is the only area I have visited here so far. I will definitely visit here again and explore more later. This is a 5-star place to visit for the beach already.

Great place for walking, jogging, or spending time with the kids. A well maintained park and athletic field. There's even a seasonal water park and a camping area. Multiple clean restrooms. You can walk/jog on a padded track, or venture out into low hills and along the bay.
Stan K — Google review
It's a good place for people who want to do something since there are lot's of things there you can do. You can either walk, play and etc. There's a fish pond and sometimes you can put some food in there so they can eat it. Once you feed one fish ,hundreds of other fish come and gather around for food. If you walk a little there is this huge playground that has a zipline, a rolling slide and a exercising place. You could also go to the place it self which is a big stadium that has a lot of events happening there . Mostly like festivals or cultural stuff. You could also do runs there. It has a thing everyone can do there . Mostly people who want to explore , this is a place that will be most preferred for you. There are also bathrooms there too. There are also faucets if you get your feet or anything dirty. You can also bring your dog too. There are ponds that contain koi fish and you can purchase fish food to feed them, either way you can still see beautiful fish. There are two mini bridges that cross over the river and athletic fields that can use to play sports. There are tennis courts, track field, and a stadium. In the front of the comprehensive park there is an information center as well and a map that shows what's in the park. Recommend coming here to take a stroll or be around the locals.
Gregory S — Google review
I absolutely loved coming here with my kids! There's so many different parks and things to do. The park they liked the most is sort of toward the back part of the park past the duck ponds. There are places toy can buy little boxes of kibble for the ducks and fish too. Plenty of places to hang out, have a picnic, and for the kids to run and play. Restrooms, sinks, and water fountains are available all over so you never have to worry about that. There's also access to the beach; part of it is a long stretch of shallows, another is a seaweed farm and the last bit is about average. We didn't really swim here much but it was nice to let the kids play in the sand and look for little rocks. Honestly if you just want a nice relaxing day, pack a lunch and take a nice long walk through this place.
Victoria R — Google review
Great park for exercise, play with kids, relax, camping and swimming. Inside there's everything you can imagine including soccer dome, playground with zip lines, basketball courts, baseball field, tennis courts, playgrounds, new soccer turf fields, jogging track, Koy pond with paddle boats, Bicycle track, Bicycle rent and small child bicycle area, swim park, indoor swimming and classrooms. Much more so recommend highly!
Ross — Google review
It's a great place for a playground, a picnic, a bike ride, a run, a camping trip (tents), or just a day at the park. There are a few places to buy food, but I recommend packing a lunch.

Uruma City Plaza is a bustling mall that offers a variety of attractions for visitors. It features an indoor kids' playground, retail shops, a grocery store, and restaurants. The city center surrounding the plaza is filled with modern hotels, trendy restaurants, and vibrant nightlife. Visitors can explore local markets and indulge in delicious street food while immersing themselves in the energetic atmosphere.
Bacon and eggs pancakes. Definitely not bacon, but ham steaks. Still delicious.

There are a lot of fun little things to do here and the kids playland is a hit with my son. He likes to play at the miniature arcade and explore the local shops. If you get a chance to stop by the cafe it is right next door to xystus playland on the second floor. Most places do not take usd so bring yen. There is also no atm to get yen if you have a US debit card. The small food shops looked wonderful, we will definitely be going back soon!

Specialty Museums
The Sea Culture Museum offers a vantage point on the upper floor, located adjacent to the museum itself. Additionally, visitors have the opportunity to purchase Okinawan souvenirs on the lower level of the establishment.
Inside the Umi no Eki there is a restaurant, beyond the gift shops. It's called Uchina Bikingu (Viking Style) where, you buy a ticket from a machine and, get a buffet style lunch for 1,000 Yen. It is delicious, local food and, well worth the price. Thst's all you can eat for, under ten bucks. Don't pass this deal by if, you are heading that way.

The little museum on the top floor is free. It had some cool stuff to look at. No signs in English but my son was excited about that 😂 There is a big gift shop on the first floor with a few restaurants. Ice cream venders outside, a beach to camp and swim at.

Toll road rest stop
Rest stop
Umi no Eki Ayahashikan is a rest stop located in the heart of the Underwater Road, making it a must-visit spot when traveling to Miyagi Island and Ikei Island. The spacious parking lot offers convenience, while the shop sells local products at reasonable prices. Visitors can savor Okinawan specialties like Okinawa soba, tempura, and blue gelato unique to the region. Additionally, there's a barbecue restaurant with stunning ocean views available by reservation.
This rest stop, lies along the causeway, going to the outer islands, off of Okinawa;s east coast in the City of Uruma. It is a convenient place, along the waterfront, to observe water sports taking place. Local products are sold at reasonable prices within the gift shop and, refreshments, as well as snacks are available. Inside, towards the rear of the building are, two places to eat. One is a steak house, the other, sells less expensive meals. Both places, I have eaten at and, recommend either, depending upon your appetite and budget. The Gift Shop sells some unique items at touristy prices, refreshments are available, similiar to what would be found in convenience stores and there are restrooms, which are kept clean The entire building is stroller and handicap friendly.

Italian restaurant
Marinos is a delightful spot for those craving fast Italian cuisine, and it comes highly recommended for its unique dining experience. One of the standout features is their creamy pasta served from a giant cheese wheel, which adds an impressive flair to your meal. The menu offers generous portions at reasonable prices, making it perfect for sharing with friends or family.
Ive been going to Marino for 15+ years with a break in between. While the changes have been small, the experience remains the same. There are a ton of delicious italian staples on the menu, most with a Japanese style twist in how it is prepared, but the food is a treat even if not fully authentic. The lasagna has always been a favorite of mine, same as the parmenara. The tomato and camembert fondue tastes like Spaghettios, which my kid loves. The risotto was done well, and the funky taste you get with most risotto was mild at best, which I like to add as a plus. I finished off the meal with a set of little cakes, with my favorite being a pairing of black coffee and matcha gateau chocolat. I'll be returning many more times with my family, and I suggest anyone reading this to do the same. It's not perfect, it's not the most authentic, but for the price and what you get, it is more than good enough.
Michael C — Google review
We tried the fondue set for 2. Comes with choice of salad, fondue, pasta and 6 desserts. We did the roast beef salad. 3.8 stars Fondue 4.5 stars I'm a big fan of cheese. This was not the recommended one and I kinda want to go back for the recommended one now. The pasta was very good 4.5 stars Desserts were hit and miss. 4 stars The cream puff chocolate was too strong and over whelmed the custard flavor inside for example The Panna Cotta was not the right texture but tasted alright. I felt for this price it was very nice. Need to go back and try more.
Wai C — Google review
Food is average. Prices are high for the quality of food, in my opinion. It is like a fast food Italian (I say that loosely) place. It is clean and the staff is really nice. The food is average to good depending on what you order. The place seems clean.

I am in love with the thin crust 5 cheese honey pizza. I think about it all the time and eat it here at least once a month and sometimes more! They have great sets so you can get pasta, pizza, drinks, and dessert. It’s not cheap but it’s a LOT of very delicious food and you will have enough to take home!!!!
Christine O — Google review
The food was good for the price and portion. I like that they have a set menu to share when you come with a group. My husband and I wanted to try 2 of their pastas and their pizza so we were really full after we can hardly walk. It's also nice that the set menu allows you to choose your dessert and you get bottomless drinks. The desserts are delicious by the way. Bonus is their tea, I especially like it when you can make your own mix in a tea pot.
Danica C — Google review
Reminded me of a chain restaurant in America. Food was good and we enjoyed it but definitely not the best Italian out there. We got a deal that was 4300 yen. It included a salad to share, pasta dish of our choice, pizza, drinks, and 6 desserts. The pizza and pasta were big servings so we only ate half of each. Caesar salad was first and it was really good! We also got the margarita pizza, loved the thin crust and great flavor. Then we got the shrimp and scallop pasta. My husband liked it but the scallops weren’t his favorite, didn’t feel like they were cleaned properly. Still a good dish with great cream sauce. For the dessert they have small slices of different kinds of dessert to choose from. The cheese cake was my husbands favorite and mine was the cream puff. We will be back when we want Italian food at an affordable price.
Jessica C — Google review
Great Neapolitan Pizza! I loved the freshness and quality of the pie. I also ordered the Shrimp and Scallop pasta in cream sauce, which was good. The serving portion for the pasta would be a bit much for most people. More of a quantity over quality dish I would say. This place is worth the price for the pizza. Other dishes might be debatable. Still enjoyed it! Especially with the dessert you can nab for free.

Nikuya-shokudo in Henza is a hidden gem that offers an outstanding dining experience at a reasonable price. The restaurant's quaint exterior and inviting patio create a charming atmosphere. Once inside, guests are greeted by enthusiastic staff and presented with a display of high-quality marbled meats. The menu features high-end cuts of steak, with the 200-gram steak receiving particular praise.
I chanced upon this place when I was in Okinawa and I must say the experience was fantastic. The beef was top notch and truly melted in my mouth. The highball made the experience even better and I'm glad I ordered it. Price-wise, I feel it's reasonable for the quality of the food and service. Do come by if you are in Okinawa! You'll not regret it :)

It's an okay place if you are near but I don't think it's worth visiting for just food. It is a little bit pricey even though the food was good. The torch made the food taste like chemicals and turned the beautiful pink centers to gray instead of adding a sear.
AMY M — Google review
Located off of the beaten path, this local establishment serves up quality cuts of meats served in a variety of ways. They do also have a kids menu which serves up delicious curry. You can get there by car (small parking lot nearby). Reservations are recommended as they do not have a big floor plan. They do have a nice patio outside if you would like to enjoy the weather. This place is a hidden gem for tourists. I would come back if given the opportunity!

Had lunch with a dear friend who lives in Nishihara. It was a bit chilly that day so we dined inside, but the patio outside was very inviting. We were greeted with smiles and enthusiasm, service was swift and the food was outstanding. A great dining experience for a most reasonable price. I highly recommend this little out-of-the-way restaurant and suggest that you either use GPS to find it, or go with a friend who knows where it is. Parking is a little strange. The lot is at upper ground level and you walk down the slope to get to the entrance. Definitely worth the trip!

My wife brought me here for my birthday lunch. The location is Henza near the Hamahiga island bridge. I’ve never heard of this place beforehand. We arrive and the exterior of the restaurant is quaint and there is a smell of incense in the air. You walk inside and you are greeted with the awesome staff and their display case with some insane looking marbled meats. He were seated and one of the staff recommended a dish and let us look over the menu. I chose the premium set choosing B, C, and I for my meats and for the rice I got the butter rice. We go out and eat a lot and ate at so many places, but believe it or not this was BY FAR the best meal I have ever eaten. This was definitely the highlight of my birthday and I told my wife that I’m taking her there for her birthday if not sooner. It IS pricey, BUT it is worth every cent. I cannot wait to go back. The butter rice was so rich and the meats were the tenderest I’ve ever had. I hope this business is there to stay so I can bring my friends and family there for special occasions. Thank you staff, you all are awesome. Only thing I’d do differently next time is to not get the cutlet. It was delicious, but that sirloin was magical and next time I’m doubling down on that.

Came here for my birthday dinner and was absolutely blown away by the meat. Best steak I’ve ever had. Ever. I just kept saying “Yum!” It’s not cheap, but it’s pretty special. It’s in a quiet neighborhood at night and not very busy so it was nice for a special date night.

Kafu Banta is a renowned energy spot located within the salt production area of "Nuchimasu Tourist Salt Factory" in Okinawa. The name comes from the Okinawan dialect, where "Kafu" means happiness and "Banta" means cape or headland, perfectly capturing the joyous feeling one gets when beholding its breathtaking views. Situated on Miyagi Island, it offers stunning vistas of the water and coral reef, especially during low tide.
Most beautiful view spot on the whole island. Truly breathtaking being up here on the cliff, looking down at the different colours of ocean below you. The salt factory and gift shop were super cool as well, ended up buying couple things here. Thanks for the great experience

Great and accessible view point! This view gave me the kind of feeling like “ahhh, looks like Okinawa” lolol. Cliffs, beaches, blue waters and exotic plants. Got myself some ice cream from the salt factory next to the parking right after. What a great feeling! Parking was free and it seems like there was a wheelchair accessible path too?
Helena W — Google review
The drive across the bridge to the island was lovely. Upon arrival drive slow through the small roads as they are blind corners. There is a parking lot (free) outside the salt factory. You'll find 2 walkways up to the overlook. There are a few stairs not too many. It is wheelchair accessible if you take the gravel entrance. There are several places to stand to see different areas. You can see the small beach below and kayakers and surfers in the water. The views are magnificent and when there's a breeze it's even better. Oh the way back stop by one of the roadside beaches before the bridge.

Ikei Beach, located on Ikei Island in Okinawa, is a serene and fee-based recreational beach that offers a variety of activities for visitors. The beach's sheltered bay-like shape makes it ideal for swimming with minimal waves and allows for swimming throughout the day regardless of the tide. Visitors can enjoy water sports such as jet skiing, wakeboarding, diving, and snorkeling. Additionally, there are options for leisurely activities like taking a glass-bottom boat ride to admire the ocean.

Absolutely stunning beach! Ikei Beach is a true hidden gem in Okinawa! Crystal clear turquoise water, soft white sand, and a peaceful, relaxed vibe make this place feel like paradise. It’s the perfect spot for swimming, relaxing, and soaking up the sun. What I loved most was how clean and well-maintained everything was. There are shaded areas, clean restrooms, and even places to grab a quick bite or drink nearby. The water is calm and shallow for quite a stretch, making it ideal for families too. We went during the day and ended up staying for sunset – totally worth it! The drive to the beach is beautiful too, especially crossing the bridge to Ikei Island. Highly recommend spending a day here if you're visiting Okinawa. It’s one of the best beaches I’ve ever been to!

Nice beach and the roads to get there get narrow but still suitable for the small cars with small wheels. 500 yen entry per person including the outdoor parking. Done da Poitiers on site like showers, and food but that is all 1 star level. There is umbrella rentals as well as life jackets. Loads of people though despite it being a paid beach.
Faraaz A — Google review
Beautiful beach! The best one we went to in Okinawa. Small fee of 400Yen per personal that also includes parking. We spotted a sea snake and many other fishes.
Angel S — Google review
Nice beach for sunbathing and some water activities like swimming or jet ski, entry is 400 yen (including parking space), umbrella 1000, bed 1000. However the sand is full of little rocks, can be not very comfortable to step on
DK W — Google review
Only small fee for use of changing room. Nice clear blue sea!
Khee C — Google review
You are not allowed to snorkel without renting a life vest. Which defeats the purpose because how are you supposed to see fish if you can’t dive at all? Especially for good swimmers that’s a ridiculous rule. We drove a bit further to Oodomari beach and had the best time there!

Nature & Parks
Oodomari Beach is a hidden gem on Ikei Island, surrounded by stunning beauty. It features a 600m stretch of white sandy shores and clear waters perfect for swimming and snorkeling. The area is not overly crowded, offering a peaceful atmosphere to enjoy the marine life. Visitors can spot various types of fish in the netted swimming area and even feed them with stale bread or frozen peas. The beach provides amenities such as showers, water sports equipment for rent, and parking for a fee.
Excellent beach. The water is super warm and the sand is soft and inviting. The parking cost 500¥ per person, so don’t be shocked when you get stopped. There is also some rental tents if you need overhead cover from the sun, and a large swimming area. Super scenic and beautiful. Highly recommend taking a minute out of your schedule to find this beach.
Jay O — Google review
We loved this beach! Clean water, nice sand, there are fish you can see if you are snorkeling. There’s a fee (1300 ¥ for 2 adults and one child), but it covers parking, toilets and showers. We could also use the table in the shadow for no extra charge. Staff is very friendly, our child even got some sweets as a gift.
Mircea — Google review
Rating this as a snorkeling beach. There are fish but nothing more than that granted we only swam in the borders of the swim area. Lots of seaweed and visibility was clear but not crystal clear given a typhoon was overhead. The beach itself was nice. The sand was not fine but tiny stone variety. The beach was also not free with admission costing 500 for adults and middle school aged kids and 300 for elementary school kids. This price includes parking and shower facilities (no towels). Life jackets were 500, a tent rental was 3000 and if you bring your own tent it will cost you 500. Food is available as taco rice, curry rice, coffee and flavored shaved ice all reasonably priced. Other gear was also available for rent including snorkels and inflatable donuts. Bathrooms included a squat toilet which was old/dated but clean without smell. The showers were an old open room with five shower heads and serviceable for a rinse and change. No soap or shampoo. It would have been nice for it to be free but it was well run and the staff were friendly. People need to make a living and I thought it was reasonable given how remote it was and their friendly attitude.
G H — Google review
500¥/pers for parking and free shower The staff is nice and friendly and i could rent a tent with float and snorkel and they gave me fish stick to feed the fishes. Very nice experience! There is plenty of fishes and the beach is clean, with white sand and clear water! I already want to go back again!
Fefe — Google review
Water blue, wanted to snorkel however the tides were crazy high making the water rough to swim and snorkel in. When it was calm it was great but wasn't calm very long. We could swim without gear but it defeated the purpose of our visit.
Mary A — Google review
500 yen each to enter. plenty of parking spaces and you can rent snorkles ect for reasonable price. Lots of colourful tropical fish to see. Seems like the best beach for a tourist with a car if you want to see nice fish and coral without going on a full tour or off the main island
Georgia — Google review
This beach is not worth the drive nor worth paying to get in. It’s ¥500 and ¥2,500 for a canope. If you bring your own tent or parasol they will charge you as well a “corkage fee”. The shower is functional but not clean. We got a taxi from Naha on a recommendation, but then you’ll get stranded on the beach because there are literally no taxi/uber that will come pick you up. We got lucky that the attendant called a taxi to pick us up but it was very complicated.
Jean-Sébastien G — Google review
Came here on 8 October 2025 at 9am -10am to experience feeding the fishes. 8am was high tide. Tide was rougher than Aharen beach at Tokashiki and FuzuZamami beach. Didn’t swim out to see the corals as tide was rough and I only had one hour to feed to fishes. I had prepared 2 bags of hot dogs the previous day. Large number of little fishes. Mainly is the silver color and zebra fishes. I don’t know what are their names. Even gave the leftovers to someone. Given a choice, I would choose FuzuZamami beach as the best because it has way calmer tide and wide variety of fish

I have visited Hamahiga countless times and have always been captivated by the breathtaking oceans that surround it. The shrines in this vicinity are remarkable, and the park itself offers a pleasant atmosphere. I truly appreciate everything about this area. The scenic view is absolutely stunning, making it an ideal location for leisurely walks. Additionally, there are convenient amenities such as toilets and a parking lot available for visitors' comfort.
Amazing place to take incredible picture. The bridge looks very nice.

(Translated by Google) From the observation deck in the park, you can enjoy a spectacular view of Hamabi Ohashi Bridge. The weather was nice that day, so the blue sky and cobalt blue color of the sea stood out even more. The spectacular scenery of Okinawa is greatly influenced by the weather. Especially in February, there are often cloudy skies, but today it was sunny. Nestled in the enchanting landscape of Okinawa, the Tomb of Amamichu is steeped in local legend, believed to be the resting place of the creator god of the Ryukyu Islands. This mystical site is said to bless visitors with fertility, making it a popular stop for those seeking family blessings. As you explore this unique location, you'll encounter fascinating deformed rocks shaped by relentless water erosion and can even stroll around when the tide recedes.
According to a legend, this is a place where the God, creator Ryukyu islands, rest in peace. There is a local mythology saying that if you visit this spot, you'll have a baby. Here you can see deformed rocks by the power of water. When the tide is low, it's possible to make a half circle around. At the entrance of the spot there is a very polite senior local lady selling coffee and sweets from red beans. There can be seen 2 cats (orange and black) resting in the shadow. Lady is selling coffee ☕️ to collect money for treatment for another very sick cat.

Japanese regional restaurant
Teirabui is a charming and traditional Japanese regional restaurant that resembles an older Okinawan house. The food is exceptional, with generous portions that leave you feeling satisfied. Although some patrons were disappointed that the restaurant didn't offer soba, it still received positive reviews overall. The atmosphere at Teirabui is delightful, complete with an English menu for convenience. They have a variety of set menus and individual dishes to choose from, ensuring there's something for everyone.
When I think of the beauties Okinawa has to offer, this 90 year old house will definitely come to mind. From the moment I turned the corner and saw this house with windows as walls, traditional old red roof tiles, and greenery surrounding the house. I instantly felt refreshed and relaxed. The inside was just as cozy with their tatami floors and white pillows. Greeted with wonderful hospitality from start to finish. I got the Soy sauce pork spare ribs soba set, coffee and zenzai. Everything was delicious!
Rhenee S — Google review
So delicious we would specially drive back just to eat their soba again! Had to order an extra portion of their agedashi peanut tofu becauze it was so good! They have an English menu so we had no problem ordering food. 10/10.

Hidden away in a peaceful, wooden house filled with tatami mats and quiet chatter, Teirabui (てぃーらぶい) offers a heartwarming journey through Okinawan flavors—with every detail steeped in rustic charm and care. 🍜 Teirabui Special Noodles The highlight of the meal was the signature Okinawan soba topped with pork offal, konjac noodles, scallions, and shiitake mushrooms. The broth was light yet deep in flavor, with a delicate balance of sweetness and umami. The chewy noodles held up beautifully against the rich toppings. Served steaming hot, it was the kind of bowl that makes you slow down and savor. 🔥 Spicy Goya Chanpuru Soba Set This set came with a bold, spicy miso broth and stir-fried bitter melon, tofu, vegetables, and spam. The heat was just right—warming without overwhelming—and the goya added that distinct Okinawan touch. The set also included side dishes like fried mochi, seasoned seaweed root salad, and the lovely purple yam jelly for a sweet finish. ☕ Iced Coffee & Beni-Imo Yōkan (Purple Yam Jelly) Served in vintage rose-printed cups, the iced coffee was simple and refreshing. The beni-imo yōkan was dense, slightly chewy, subtly sweet, and a perfect companion to the bitterness of the coffee. A quiet treat that completed the nostalgic experience. 🌸 Atmosphere The setting felt like visiting a friend’s countryside home. You remove your shoes, settle onto tatami floors, and enjoy your meal in a relaxed, old-style wooden house surrounded by greenery. Even the menu was handwritten on a palm leaf—unique and full of personality.

Amazing food!!!! Might be the best thing we ate on our whole trip. Such a vibe, old school traditional seating with lovely garden aspect. The staff are so lovely and kind, with exceptional service. A 100% must visit. ☺️
Shari H — Google review
The restaurant is located at the old house in Hamahiga Island, and there are restaurant's road signs which indicate direction, parking and restaurant location. Restaurant owner tries to maintain classic decoration in simple but stylish for the restaurant's tatami dining area too. The restaurant offers simple but tasty soba meal set in winter; it has 3 options for the winter season, and pork-based soba seems to be one of the favorites. Pork-based soba has sliced pork, diced pork, sliced shiitake mushroom, and stewed pork intestine as major topping, and it comes with vegetable and sweet dessert plus seasonal fried dish, such as peanut cake. The owner can command English and some other foreign language to help non-Japanese customers and is extremely busy to function also as a waiter and bus boy in winter season. While there is NO waiting time for winter season, the restaurant has quite a long waiting time from spring to fall season, especially when weather is good. The restaurant has its own parking lot.
Ben H — Google review
Great atmosphere at this restaurant, English menu available. Has set menus as well as a la carte items. Good food, nice Okinawa house. Parking is available around the corner in a separate lot.

Seafood restaurant
Ajike is a charming restaurant located right at the fishing port, offering incredibly fresh and flavorful seafood dishes. The seafood don features a delightful variety of fish, including sweet shrimp and sea grapes that burst with flavor. The unagi don impresses with its generous portion size and secret seasoning that enhances its appeal. The staff is known for their friendly service, and the restaurant's policy of serving only the freshest catch of the day ensures an unforgettable dining experience.
Not many items on the menu was available but we had the fish miso soup and fried mackerel plus sashimi and it was superb. Efficient service
Lorna T — Google review
You cannot get fresher than this. Located right at the fishing port is a small restaurant. I've never tasted sashimi so creamy textured and fresh in flavor like this. Staff is very friendly. They only serve the fish they have for the day. Once it's gone, that's it.
Kristin B — Google review
For the seafood don, there were 4 different types of fish as well as the sweet shrimp (amaebi). In addition, we also had our first taste of the sea grapes which literally pops in your mouth! The fish slices were sweet! Omai! As for the unagi don, the portion was huge (2 huge slices) and the secret seasoning made the dish so much more appetizing. Makes you want to have a little more rice on every bite. With no further tax added, the meal at 2800 yen was surprisingly affordable. This time, we also saw aunties and uncles ordering a whole fish by itself. Perhaps you should try it when you’re there as well 😉 For more details, visit 2bearbear today!

This shop is very popular among locals. Situated near the sea, the shop gets its local supply of fishes which makes the food fresh and delicious. Although the staff there cannot speak English, the menu contains a lot of photos so you can directly point out the items that you would like to order. The food quality is a bit disappointing though, they are not as fresh as expected. The portion was generous and can easily fill an empty stomach.

Absolutely wonderful place if you want to enjoy high quality of seafood. This place is also known by local so it may sold out really early. We went there at 12:30 p.m, by that time almost half of the dishes had already sold out. When we finish our meal, it was nearly 1:30 all the dishes had sold out. But the quality of the dishes were stunning.

うなぎどん Grilled eel with rice was very good and it was not super expensive. Miso soup was good since it had seaweed. When I first went into the restaurant, I could recognize fishy smell. They didn't turn on air conditioner. However, I didn't feel hot at the restaurant. Try the grilled eel.

Food is inexpensive, good price for local catch. I ordered Maguro donburi with egg and radish. While my partner got the butter garlic grilled fish. It was extremely tasty and fresh, no fishy taste, and I don’t like to eat seafood because of fishy taste!. So well worth my money!

Awesome experience, definitely great for families with kids. Lots of animals to pet and beautiful picture perfect areas. You could easily spend over two hours here. The gift shop is great with lots of cool little trinkets and the park is very clean. I came in the morning at around 9 AM before all of the petting exhibits were open and there was not many people there. It was nice and quiet.

Would recommend u to walk during the night as it is not so hot and it may be more pretty with the illumination trail. But tickets for night walk is more expensive. Basically a garden with ponds, many plants and some animals such as stocks, goats, capybara, ducks, monkeys. Price for entrance is considerably high for the contents u will enjoy
Jon P — Google review
This was a really cool experience! My partner and I just wondered around taking our time to enjoy the atmosphere and animals. You can feed the animals for a 200yen fee. The area is clean, it is fairly sized. Kids in the park seemed to enjoy it. There are park benches to enjoy a seat and food. There is a restaurant and cafe. It is 20,00yen per adult. If you have time and the money I would recommend 😊
Taimani K — Google review
The place is very beautiful for sure but the admission fee is SO high it’s crazy Workers here are very kind & definitely take care of the animals Cafe here has a limited menu of cute desserts but most seem to be lacking flavor. I do NOT recommend the churros Gift shop here has cute stuff but pretty similar throughout. Even after admission fees, lots of other small activities like entering certain exhibits is even more money on top Definitely recommend checking out the area at night. I went at night before & it’s so much pretty. More relaxing too with the aesthetic
Gedanny V — Google review
AMAZING EXPERIENCE! This is the perfect place to spend the day, especially if you love animals. We were able to pet and feed monkeys, capybaras, goats, an armadillo, and some massive tortoises. My dream of finally meeting a capybara came true! It was such an incredible, up-close experience. They also have bird show, a gift shop with gelato, and a petting zoo. During certain times of the year, they put on a spectacular night light display that I highly recommend seeing. Animals during the day and beautiful lights at night, it doesn’t get better than that. Such a special place to have right next door, and I can’t wait to go back! Tips: -Bring YEN change! 200 yen per cup of food to feed the animals. 300 yen just for the monkey admission fee -Appy bug spray and sunscreen -There is a restaurant and other places to buy snacks and drinks -You can pay to go fishing with bamboo poles. Catch and release
Jessica M — Google review
A must see botanical garden where you can feed the animals. In every spot for animals to see, you can feed them for ¥200. Souvenir store is after you enter the garden, there's drinks and snacks to buy. There's guinea pigs, rabbits and a dog for you to pet. There's a separate spot for monkeys and a capybara to feed but has a separate entrance fee ¥1000, including food to feed the monkeys. Leave all your stuff outside their fence because they will steal your stuff. We went on a hot and sunny day, wish they have mist on random sposts as you wonder around the garden to avoid heat exhaustion. But overall, it's a nice place for everyone.
Joanna J — Google review
Theres is light bulbs everywhere. If u have smaller kids its a nice place to visit during the day feedibg the different animals. I imagine it's also a lovely place to visit in the evenings when the lights are switched on and you're in love. But for a singel traveller during the day Naha royal garden is a better alternative.
Marcus — Google review
Way better than just any zoo! It was a whole experience! We paid for the 2,500 yen ticket at the entrance (todays rainy, and it’s early april) that included the indoor enclosure animals and the insect exhibit. There were so many animals you could feed, and all of the animals seemed very well taken care of and happy. There are so many beautiful plant species. There are a couple of fun little games to do, like fish and throw a heart into a heart shaped hole! There was a bird show that you can see from the look out point or from the cafe. The monkey enclosure was so fun! They were so silly and running around and trying to pull my hair. We spent about four and a half hours just exploring! I highly recommend this. Make sure you bring tons of 100 yen coins so you can feed all the animals.

Kurashiki Dam, situated in Kunigami Village, Okinawa, is a serene park and garden encompassing a tranquil reservoir. The dam serves the purpose of water supply and flood control while providing visitors with an idyllic retreat amidst verdant surroundings and stunning vistas. The area offers opportunities for leisurely strolls along walking paths on both upper and lower levels, as well as a river feature where children can play.
Peaceful place with some walking paths around the top and bottom levels, a little river feature where kids can play in, and a 100m tall tower from the top of which one can look out in all directions in air conditioned comfort. There is also a little exhibit on the dam in the main building - all in Japanese - as well as a 15min video screening on the role of water in Okinawa with English subtitles that had a pretty entertaining surprise. Can pop by if in the area, to get some fresh air and quiet. Toilets are available. Seems like dogs are allowed and there is a dog play area on the far side of the dam.

Nice little park with a walking trail and plenty of parking around it. The slide is a nice, long one and fun for all ages. The playground is quite large and can keep kids busy for a long time. Also large grassy fields for soccer or flying a kite. Conveniently located off 329 👍🏻

The slide and other playground equipment is great. Toilets are clean. Good place for Okinawan winter as there is also most no shade at the park so it can be very hot. you could bring a tent but the park is rather small.

Great park & playground. The big orange slide goes super fast so if you let your small toddler go up by themselves wait to catch them at the bottom 😉. My daughter loves the red hammock swings, this park seems busy so if the want to use the swings have them start waiting in line when there's a lot of kids waiting. The paved path goes all around the park which is great for jogging or stroller jogging.

(Translated by Google) The staff were very kind and thorough in their explanations, and through trial and error, they processed my application, which was past the deadline due to my mistake, which was very helpful. When I told them that I was in a hurry to finish all the other procedures on the same day because I didn't have any days off on weekdays, they divided up the application order and waiting time, and thought of a way to issue the application quickly, and I was able to finish the other procedures without any problems. Why does it take 30 minutes to an hour even though it's a weekday and it's not that crowded? Although there were some things I didn't like, it was a day where I was moved by the kindness and politeness of the staff ❤️ (Original)

(Translated by Google) It takes too much time considering there are so many employees. There is a huge difference between people with good and bad attitudes. It's the worst when you lose. The older man, who looked like a veteran, was hunched over and his tone was arrogant and unpleasant. Even though this can be done online or by mail, it is extremely inconvenient to have to come all the way to a place like this during the daytime on weekdays. We don't need such a big government building. Waste of tax money. Museum
Nestled within the Okinawa Zoo park, the Wonder Museum is a delightful destination that seamlessly combines art, science, and technology for an unforgettable experience. This engaging children's museum features three levels filled with interactive exhibits that captivate visitors of all ages. From mesmerizing optical illusions to hands-on activities exploring light, sound, and physics, there's something for everyone to enjoy. Families will appreciate the thoughtfully designed toddler play area where little ones can explore movable blocks while older kids can dive into various educational displays.
We had an amazing time! Me and my girlfriend went with 6 kids in total. Aging from 10 to newborn. There were activities to engage them all and it was wheelchair/stroller accessible. The food at the zoo was DELICIOUS! This was a great affordable way to spend the day in/outdoors. We were there 3 hours and didn’t finish all activities so we are definitely going back again.

My 2yo loves this place! We got an annual pass to the zoo and wish there was a way to combine that with an annual pass to the wonder museum. We can spend hours there. Great for a rainy day!

fun for kids between 2and 8. kids older might get a bit bored. You have to pay extra for the wonder museum wants in the zoo but its fairly cheap. Great place for parents to take kids on a wet day especially if you have a year zoo pass.
Immers O — Google review
I took my 4 year old to both the zoo and children's museum. She had an absolute blast! From the Mandrill's to the ferrous nano-fluid to the climbing nets to the merry-go-round, Wonder had a great mix of attractions that was perfect for an afternoon. Okinawa continues to impress.

We love the Wonder Museum! There are three levels of interactive fun. It never feels crowded, and they limit the number of entrants to make sure it isnt (although this may be Covid protocol). There are exhibits on light, shadow, optical illusions, simple machines, physics, geography, sound... the list goes on and on. There is a toddler play area with movable blocks to walk, jump, and slide on. There are also places to make things. One area has many projects which you buy and make something specific (for example, they give you peeler beads and a perler board and you make something). They also have an area where you pay 100 yen, get a bag and a calculator, and choose random objects to build something. Each random object has a cost associated with it, so you can buy up to 100 yen of products (think egg cartons, cardboard, card stock, string, etc). My kids never want to leave and they range from about 2-8 years old. Highly recommend! There is also a climbing net on the bottom floor. The bathrooms are great - mini potty/urinals with appropriately sized sink, adult bathrooms with a seat to put your toddler, family/handicap bathrooms. There is also a baby area with changing pads and a nursing mom area.

Great place for kids to spend indoors. Most things to do have English translation. Toilets on each floor. You must pay the zoo entry to gain access, no exception.

Conveyor belt sushi restaurant
Sushiro is a popular sushi chain known for its good seasonal menu and slightly better quality compared to other similar chains. It offers kid-friendly and picky-eater friendly options. The restaurant in Okinawa provides high-quality, reasonably priced food with an English-friendly environment. Customers can enjoy a unique experience with the food delivery system, where they can only order 5 items at a time from the conveyor belt.
If you're in Okinawa and craving top-tier sushi, Sushiro is a must-visit. My experience here was nothing short of exceptional. From the moment I walked in, the staff set the tone with their warm hospitality. Polite, attentive, and always ready to assist. The food? Absolutely impressive. Every dish was fresh, expertly prepared, and bursting with flavor. Everything exceeded expectations, whether it was the melt-in-your-mouth sushi or the perfectly cooked side dishes. The restaurant itself was spotless, reflecting their commitment to cleanliness and quality. Service was incredibly prompt, ensuring a seamless dining experience. To top it all off, the prices were more than reasonable, making this place a fantastic value for the quality you receive. I highly recommend Sushiro to anyone visiting Okinawa. Without a doubt, I’ll be coming back again!

First time I tried Shark fin sushi, 😆 no comment. I like it but don't know how to comment. Fresh ingredients with a nice amount of seasoning sushi rice. They provide less salt soy sauce for your better health. What I loved most is Watermelon granita. 🥰 Another nice meal with no waiting.

If you are craving sushi this place is very retro and the sushi is very delicious! This sushi place is not like the other popular well-known sushi restaurants out in Japan they mostly have very seasonal items and they offer soft drinks and also delicious seasonal desserts!! There is a sushi selection located on the tablet in your booth or you can go by yourself which is also nice as well their menus have multiple languages and also you're able to split the check if you're eating with a group of people. Just make sure you divide the plates neatly by color so it may help the staff when calculating. There is also water stations that serve cold water and also hot tap right by your table with free complimentary green tea! If you're craving sushi on a budget that is very exquisite and unique this is the spot to go to!! 😋

Definitely a great place for bigger party's. Food was excellent! Great staff!

Similar to Hama sushi. A sushi go round restaurant. Order off a tablet. Great food but more expensive than Hama. The conveyor belt was quite slow to get the food out in comparison too. Overall a good experience but in comparison with other similar establishments, it lacks menu choices and costs more. Kids make your own sushi option is cute.
Alicia J — Google review
A nice, fast, albeit slightly loud, convenient sushi conveyor belt restaurant. We came at lunch and there were plenty of spaces available. To my welcome surprise, there were lots of vegan options, I especially enjoyed the inari sushi and the cucumber rolls. The price is very good for the amount of food you get. Service is almost fully automatic, each table had a tablet which you use to submit your order. Quick, easy and tasty!
Aga S — Google review
Nice and fresh sushi. Many varieties, starting from traditional sushi to the fusion ones. Sushi belt is a fun experience for the first time. Family-friendly atmosphere. Tables for 6 people, also counter seats are available for solo diners. Huge parking space. Usually short waiting time. Be it a special reunion of Okinawa friends, craving for sushi, or just a lazy evening when we are afraid of going to the kitchen, this Sushiro has been our favorite place. Orthodox sushi lovers may have a lot of criticism for fusion sushi, I have seen how local people love sushiro. Comfort to your taste buds as well as to your pocket.
Baitan C — Google review
Sushiro has amazing desserts with lots of options. The kids’ meals are fun since they can make their own sushi, though my kids don’t eat raw fish. Service is a bit slow, but the restaurant is really busy

Farmers' market
Grocery store
JA Farmers Market Chanpuru Ichiba is a hidden gem for food lovers and locals alike, offering an authentic taste of the region. This vibrant farmers market showcases a delightful array of organic produce, seasonal fruits, and vegetables that are all locally sourced. Visitors can find everything from fresh pork to seafood options like fish and octopus, ensuring there's something for everyone.
We love going here, it’s the best locals farmer’s market, everything is so fresh it lasts 10days+ in the fridge and the prices are amazing. We also love eating with the seasonal availability of different fruits and veggies that come through all island grown. Farm to table eggs, sushi rice and packaged products are also available. The fridge section carries a variety of seafood, anything from fresh fish to octopus to sea snails. Outside there are local vendors that all sell yummy, healthy treats or coffees. Highly recommend.

8 Feb 2024 (Thu) - Visited this outlet to check out some local produce. While this place seem older than other farmer markets, there were many local folks and interesting products such as jams, pineapple cakes, brown sugar products, sashimi, purple corn, etc. Wish I have bought the premium grade sashimi at ~600 JPY... 😢
D T — Google review
Arguably the best farmers market I’ve ever visited. Authentic, local organic foods and flowers that change with the season. There is a fresh pork counter and some minor fish offerings and frozen foods. Lots of rice, herb, and vegetable options. I bought a small bucket of fresh, local eggs for $2. My favorite things to buy are the bento boxes, handmade mochi, and premade food options that range from $2-$5. So much to love and prices are reasonable!

Farmer market half a mile outside of Gate 3; located on Rt 329. Has different fruits & vegetables dependent on season. Not too expensive however, some items are. These are usually items intended for gifts ( ie: mangoes, peaches, watermelon, etc.) I would highly advise being your own reusable shopping bag. If you opt not too, they sell plastic bags for 5yen each. Sometimes they have plant sales in the field across from the parking lot. This is where vendors come from all over Oki to sell their pottery and trees/plants. These is one of four farmers market close to Gate 3. But it’s the largest of the four compared to the others.
Franki K — Google review
Wonderful place to get fruits and veggies and the price is so much better than the commissary. Also do yourself a favor and stop by the stand outside the doors behind the cash registers. This gentleman sells sweet cakes and takoyaki. The sweet cakes were delicious. The grocery store takes American credit card so nothing should stop you from visiting here.
Jessica W — Google review
This Farmers Market has the most authentic vegetables, fruits, hot snacks, and desserts. Okinawa has unique mango, bitter gourd called Goya, and Shequasar (lime with lemon scent). Please visit this market to support local farmers.

One of the best local farmer's market out of Kadena gate 3. They sell fresh fruits and veggies for a cheap price. They also have food stands outside like takoyaki, ice shave matcha and karaage for hungry buyers.

PRO: Lots of fresh, local produce. Cheaper than the supermarket produce. Cooked meal/food also available. Rice also available per weight. CON: Parking can be limited sometimes. RECOMMENDATION: Highly recommended for fresh fruits/veggies.

Fast food restaurant
McDonald's, a well-established fast-food chain recognized for its burgers and fries, has gained popularity worldwide. It is widely known for its extensive menu options and efficient service. The restaurant offers a convenient dual lane drive-through that ensures quick customer throughput. Inside the establishment, there are distinct sections for food and beverages such as coffee and pastries from Barista. The cleanliness of the premises is commendable, providing a pleasant dining environment.
Standardize food as usual, fries are just the same as in Taiwan. Fast delivery at table. Clean toilet.

Pretty good location. The service can be slow during peak times, but the inside is quite clean and there is even a play area for the kids. Just leave a few extra minutes during lunch rush.

As an American who hates McDonalds this was amazing food compared to what I usually get in the states. I had to give it a shot when I heard they were better here and I was not disappointed. The teriyaki burger is my new favorite item and sadly it’s only going to be available in Japan. The burgers were made sloppily but that’s McDonald’s and that’s what gives it its charm.

I've been 3 times and every time the order has been wrong. Simply asked for the McGriddle and I got this with hamburger buns. She understood what I said and repeated it when I order. Yet I still get hamburger bun egg.

Syokudo and Teishoku restaurant
Yayoiken Urumaesuten is a beloved dining spot that many locals and visitors adore for its reliable service and delicious offerings. The restaurant features a user-friendly digital vending machine, complete with language options, making ordering a breeze. Guests rave about the fried chicken served with customizable tartar sauce and enjoy free refills of perfectly cooked rice. While the atmosphere can sometimes feel less than pristine due to operational challenges, the quick service ensures you won't be waiting long for your meal.
My wife and I love this place. It’s super easy to order, it’s a digital vending machine with a few language options to choose from. We love the fried chicken which comes with tarter sauce that you mix yourself. The rice is free refills and the portions are perfect for us. You are seated right away (if there is room) and the food comes out very quickly. We come here quite often! A definite favorite.

(Translated by Google) Everyone loves Yayoiken, a safe and reliable restaurant! However, perhaps due to operational issues or a lack of staff, the restaurant was a little dirty, many dishes hadn't been cleared away, the water was lukewarm, and the waiters were slow to come, which was a bit disappointing. I ordered the ginger pork set meal (I was so hungry I forgot to take a photo), but the onions seemed a bit rawer than usual. I think I'll try a different restaurant next time.

(Translated by Google) ・2025.7.3 A large amount of undercooked bean sprouts for 1200 yen I ordered the new product "Beef ribs and beef innards set meal". The product that arrived was a large amount of bean sprouts with hairs. The hot vegetables lacked moisture. It probably wasn't washed and just microwaved as is. My friend who was with me agreed. There were no green onions either. This teppan bean sprout set meal is not worth a single bag of sprouts. The food my friend ordered was also not very good. The tea was also not very tasty. This wasn't the case when I visited at the beginning of the year, so I wonder what happened. A word about cleaning. The air conditioner is full of mold even though it's the height of summer. It's been a long time since I've felt so bad about a meal. I'll never go again.
