Takarazuka in 2 days

If you only have 2 days to spend in Takarazuka, we’ve narrowed down the top places you should check out to get the best experience of your time here.
Takarazuka is best known for the Takarazuka Revue, a famous all-female musical theater troupe whose lavish productions draw fans from across Japan and abroad. The city also celebrates manga culture at the Osamu Tezuka Manga Museum, dedicated to the “god of manga” who grew up here. Visitors can enjoy relaxing hot springs, riverside walks along the Muko River, and easy access to nearby Kobe and Osaka while staying in a quieter, smaller city.
With favorites like Osaka Tenmangu Shrine, Montsuki Kakaka, and Takarazuka Grand Theater, we’ll make sure you don’t miss out on all the must sees. We even included some of our favorite food spots around the area, like Italian&cafe 月地亭 and Sandwich Le Mans (Takarazuka Minamiguchi Store) so you can get the best taste of Takarazuka while you’re here. To see our full list of food recommendations, check out our best restaurants post. If you're traveling on a budget, you can check out our cheap eats post.

Minoh Falls, also known as Minoh Waterfall, is a magnificent 33-meter-high natural wonder nestled in the northern outskirts of Osaka, Japan. Situated within the picturesque Minoh Quasi-National Park, this stunning waterfall offers visitors a chance to immerse themselves in nature through a scenic hike surrounded by lush deciduous trees and forested mountains. The best times to visit are during spring when cherry blossoms adorn the hiking trail and create a picturesque setting.
Beautiful park, totally worth to walk from the falls to Minoh Station (about 3km). I guess the sights will be picturesque in autumn when all the maple leaves turn red. Easy trail with lots of tea shops, snacks that you can enjoy along the way. The signature dishes are grilled fish and maple leaf tempura.

It's a lovely place. The hike is quite nice and there's a bunch of antique souvenir shops along the way if you're into that. Please go here if you are a geek about old things and nature. There's yummy ice cream, though a bit expensive, next to the fall.

We decided not to hike to the falls and instead caught a cab to the falls and walked back down. The falls were very relaxing and the air was very cool on a warm day. There were bathrooms, food, snacks and drinks at the falls. It wasn’t very busy at 10am on a Monday. The walk back down was an easy walk that ran along a stream. We seen snakes and lots of praying mantis and horse hair worms!. Although there were warning signs of monkeys we didn’t see any. There are a few places of interest along the way including a temple, an insectarium, and a few other shops and monuments. A good break away from the hustle and bustle of Osaka

I still cannot believe that this magnificent place is just 60mins from Osaka City. The walk from Minoh station to the Falls is quite easy to moderate (moderate for someone who’s not used to long distance walking) and it takes around 40mins. I did this walk very early am on Tuesday 28th of October and the nature was beautiful. When you arrive at Falls, the feeling was spectacular and breathtaking. From the Falls you can walk to the nearby parking area (marked in google maps “Dainichi Parking Lot”) around 15mins and you can pick up a taxi to take you to Katsuoji temple (only 5mins by car). I had to take my flight from Itami that day, so I took a taxi again from Katsuoji temple to Minoh station as I did not have plenty of time to spend (very convenient by the way - there are taxis outside waiting at Katsuoji temple). My only regret is that I didn’t take at least a selfie or exchanging contacts with a wonderful lady I met at Falls (Erica エリカさん), she was so nice to me and I wish I had the time to spend that day for having a lunch or a coffee. Many regards from Eleni エレニ Japanese-Greek friend!

A good spot to visit if you are visiting Katsouji Temple. The waterfall was beautiful to visit. There are small stalls selling fish and ice-cream. There is a small restuarant that have a variety of bentos and seating available to eat (benches at the front of the waterfall) and if you're eating at the restaurant. Getting here - there's no public transport to get to and from this location. From Katsouji, it's about a 6 min car ride from here. Parking is available near the walkway to Minoh Falls. Or you can walk for 25 mins - which I did going to this location. The walkway to the waterfall is fairly easy but coming back up it will have you out of breath.

Very nice, but as expected there was a number of people there despite it being a weekday afternoon and raining the whole day. Thankfully not the insane crowds like in Fushimi Inari for example. Unfortunately I visited just a few days too early for the leaves to become red, the autumn seems to be very late this year If you have time and not afraid to walk for an hour or two, take the scenic trail up to the falls, it starts near the ichinohashi bridge in the south (the trail itself is marked as 滝道 on google maps). It's a very easy paved hike with stunning views, bunch of places to eat at along the way, and optional observatories at the hilltops if you feel like climbing some steep mountain stairs.

Nice getaway from Osaka city to have a small hike. Almost 3km walk and escape from city vibes. Lot of shops on the way to enjoy fried tempura and other souvenirs.
Ajay M — Google review
Beautiful surroundings but beware of wasps. There are signs to warn you. The fall was nice. Downhill all the way to get there but grab a snack or drinks on the way out because it will be uphill all the way back. About 3 km from Katsuoji temple. We had a car rental so very easy to get to after the temple. However, we saw many people walk from the temple to the falls. They looked very tired but seems like a doable walk when not too hot/humid.

Satsukiyama Zoo is a part of a larger park and offers various facilities including a golf course, Green Center, and Urban Greening Botanical Garden. The zoo houses an assortment of animals such as wallabies, wombats, ponies and guinea pigs that children can pet and feed. Admission to the zoo is free for visitors.
A lovely little zoo with some great australian wildlife including the oldest captive wombat in the world!!! I visited here during the morning and it wasn't too busy but be prepared for it to get a little busier on the weekend. There is disinfectant spray at the entrance to prevent the spread of Corona virus. As of writing they are celebrating the birthday of their oldest wombat and there is a cute display in one of the buildings.
Joshua C — Google review
A small little zoo located just uphill past the shrine. It's free admission, and easy to navigate as the map is just a loop. Paid parking is available, but I walked here instead. A lot of the animals were present and relaxed under the summer heat. It was cute watching the zookeepers tend to the bunnies and chickens! You can also interact with the sheep by purchasing the feeder from the gift shop to feed them. They're also one of the noisiest animals in the zoo. 🐑 Overall, Satsukiyama zoo is great for all ages and families to visit!

Although it is a bit small, you can see unique animals from Tasmania. It is free, can't ask for more~

Free entrance zoo with some parks nearby. Very good spot to walk around with children in warm weather. The size is not so small but as it is free, it is recommended. You can park your car or using bus to come here. The animals is fun to watch.
Rifqi R — Google review
This zoo is recommended for animal lovers as you can get close up with them and even pet most of them. It's free of charge too! There was heatwave when i went and most animals were indoor. If not we would have gotten to see more animals. I really love this place! Avoid 12pm to 2pm as it is their lunch time.
Iris L — Google review
For a zoo with no entrance fee, Satsukiyama Zoo is a very generous & welcoming zoo to many. There are petting zones and several animals to see. Do note that most of the animals seen here are animals that can also be found in Australia, because of its sister city relationship with the Australian municipality of Launceston, Tasmania. It is also highly understandable that they don't take care of too many animals. Do take note, that travelling to this zoo will require some walking and some light hiking up slopes as the zoo is located around the base of mount Satsuki. It is still fairly accessible as its about 10 minutes or less, from the nearest station.

📄 Description of the area: ————————— 🐗 - Satsukiyama Zoo: There are also many facilities within the park such as a zoo, the Urban Greening Botanical Garden, a golf course, and Green Center, and many people gather here for leisure. The Satsukiyama Zoo is especially popular, with wombats and wallabies, and the admission is free. A cherry blossom festival is held on a weekend in early April every year in the park square and the zoo. In the summer, it serves as one of the venues of the Gangara Himatsuri, a festival that dates back to the Edo Period. 💵 - Price: Free. 🕒 - Hours: [9:15 - 16:45]. ————————— 🌳 🦙 🌳 Thanks For Watching 🙂!

Looking at the reviews now, maybe we could have given this zoo a miss because of the long walk in. Free, so still not too bad. Packed with locals with their kids over the weekend. But still a good place to kill time if you’re an animal lover!

(Translated by Google) 2025.5.11 When I walked from Yamamoto Station towards Aramaki Rose Garden, I saw a Western-style building that made me want to stop by. When I went inside, I was surprised to find a gardening shop, a related general store, and even a bakery. Roses were in full bloom, and they sold ornamental plants and fertilizer, and of course, fertilizer for home garden seedlings. They also gave advice on gardening. Sorry, I felt like I was in a botanical garden. Many people who like gardening feel relieved when they touch the soil and look at the trees and flowers. It's also a way to relieve stress, and most of them are kind-hearted people who continue to work diligently, such as fertilizing, watering, and catching bugs, and "nurture and watch over" them😊 However, there are a very few people who are just show-offs who only decorate the surface😆 (Original) 2025.5.11 荒牧バラ園を目指して山本駅から歩くと…「なんだあれは?」

Unfortunately, some plants in your store have names on the price tags, while others don't. This is my first time in Yamamoto. I didn't know it was a green city. Now that I've discovered this wonderful, relaxing spot, I'm looking forward to visiting again. In response to the following question: As a seller, is it okay to display plants in your store without identifying the variety at the production stage? This doesn't seem like a good B2C response. Furthermore, I fear your store could be the epicenter of Japan's ecosystem destruction. Please improve this. Nakayama-dera is a significant Buddhist site featuring a 5-story pagoda dating back to the 6th century. It is renowned as a place for baby blessings and offers a serene environment with lush gardens and calming water features, allowing visitors to connect with nature and experience traditional Japanese aesthetics. The temple's renovated pagoda and tastefully covered escalator make it accessible for all visitors.
It’s a huge temple with great views of whole city, since it’s located on a mountain. The temple itself is very colorful and unique in its colors. Never seen such colors before on any Japanese pagoda as it is in this temple.

Kiyoshikojin Seichoji is a temple complex from the 9th century that showcases authentic sculptures and artwork. The site also hosts various events throughout the year. One of its unique features is the Torii, a traditional gate found in shrines. The main building and other structures have been renovated using Hinoki wood, which emits a pleasant scent. Kiyoshikojin Seichoji has become an annual destination for many visitors who appreciate its cultural significance and architectural beauty.
I have always loved the historic heritage of Japanese culture and this location only deepened it further. I was lucky enough to experience this place over the new year period so I got to witness many of the ancient Japanese ceremonies, many of which are as old as the country itself. I believe that as much fun the modern aspects of Japan are, it is equally as important to experience these older customs of this beautiful country.

A hidden gem of an important temple in a mountain side of Takarazuka, Hyogo. Short access from two train stations JR and Hankyu. Different walking routes through quiet town or country where you can see river below and tall threes. There're traditional market stalls to it selling various goodies and food to try. The temple is dedicated to Kojin the firely guardian god of household, Buddhist temples and shrines, beautiful pond with koi carps, art museum, landscaped gardens for four seasons, and special souvenir shop for faithful. At some dates, special Buddhist festivals and rituals, tea ceremony are held. Respectful clothing, steady shoes, and quiet behavior according to Japanese Buddhist customs required throughout visit. The monks and custodians work and worship many Buddha, gods, founding monk from ancient times that faithful folks dedicate prayers. (Not a theme park nor playground if you never been to a temple.) Nearby Takarazuka town offers relaxed amusement.

I had a great time! Entry process is a breeze. I came to view the Castlevania play. I had a great time attending. If you purchase a ticket as a foreigner, be sure to present your passport on pickup as you will need it to pick your tickets. There is a coin locker in the building, it is cash only and 300 yen (100¥ * 3) for backpack size. Especially helpful for my circumstances since I was going on day-trips, every single day while in Japan. The performers made sure to give eye contact with the guests as they were performing their lines which I thought went the extra mile. The theater itself is beautiful and everyone from the performers to the stagehands did an excellent job.

I actually only visited the souvenir shop inside, not the theatre itself. Still, it was fascinating to be in such a legendary place. The shop already gave me a taste of the cultural atmosphere, with items that reflect the theatre’s long tradition and prestige. I would really like to come back one day and experience the theatre performance in person. This historic Japanese theatre has such a strong reputation, and seeing it live would surely be a memorable and unique cultural experience.

If you have a ticket, you’ll have an absolutely fantastic three hours. In most cases you will see a play which takes 90 minutes and after 30minutes break, will see a gorgeous amazing dancing and singing show which takes about 60minutes. Not only the play and show but also there are lots of souvenirs and official books and photos you can check. I would say the only problem is no wifi around here. In addition as women’s rest room is quite crowded during the break time, I’d recommend you going there as soon as possible.

The cost performance was good for appetizers, soups, pizzas, desserts, and drinks. But the soup is definitely store-bought chilled corn soup. (I'm pretty sure it tastes just like that) If I use it as a base and it changes the taste even a little, then why not just serve it as is...In other people's reviews, it seemed like there was a consommé soup day, so I guess that's not always the case. Pizza is Margherita. However, the fabric is fluffy and thick. It was a dish that was barely cooked, and I couldn't finish eating it unless it was piping hot. There were photos of other people's reviews, and it seemed like the fabric was completely different on some days, but I guess it's not constant. I don't think I'll be visiting again, but I think it's a waste that the food is so disappointing even though they're working so hard on the service, so I'd like to support them behind the scenes. Thank you for the meal. I'm sorry, but I'll write down the ones I don't like. First, the antipasto appetizer was worse, but the course was worse. The cold soup tasted like commercially available sujata, and this... The food is delicious, of course, but the portions seem a little small for an adult male. It's not the kind of place where you'd normally get a large portion, so perhaps it's standard for Italian food. No matter which seat I went to, the staff just said sorry for being late. If you can't provide service, shouldn't you limit reservations? I was wondering how long I should wait for the main meat dish after the pasta, and the meat that came out was yakiniku that was smooth? I was so stunned that I forgot to take a photo. It was too late so I canceled the dessert and coffee that followed and paid the bill. Since it is a course meal, it seems that the canceled dessert cannot be reduced. You can order quickly, but you do have to wait a little while while they prepare your order. Apparently, you can bring your food to the cafe next door, so I went there after purchasing, but it was busy and I couldn't get in. The sandwich I bought was an egg and fruit sandwich. The egg was a boiled egg and a rolled omelet, and the fruit was topped with fresh cream, which was just the right sweetness and very delicious. I don't go to Takarazuka often, so it was a great memory. Steaks will vary depending on the type of meat, part, and region of production. There is also a matter of preference. The customer is responsible for grilling on the plate, so they are responsible for how they grill. It would have been nice to know if it's okay even if it's rare, but it's probably okay. The 140g loin of domestic beef is traceable to be from Hokkaido. Next time, try a different meat. Looking forward to the Kuroge Wagyu beef selection. Please refer to the traceability information as it is placed on the product display. It's so good that I want to just try out Kihachiro's beer. (Translated by Google) I visited with reservations for Saturday lunch. It seems to be a very popular restaurant, and most of the tables were occupied, so it would be best to make a reservation for dinner or even lunch. The interior of the restaurant had an elegant Japanese-Western fusion atmosphere, like the lounge of a hot spring inn, and there was a piano playing, making it very comfortable. This time I ordered a lunch course of 140g of domestic beef fillet for 4,900 yen. The menu includes ham hors d'oeuvre, salad, soup, steak, rice, dessert or coffee. This is a steakhouse, but the style is to eat with chopsticks rather than a knife and fork. Personally, I don't really like eating Western food with chopsticks, but I think that's because they place emphasis on Japanese cuisine. . The ham in the hors d'oeuvre was a common ham that you would get as a year-end gift, but the onions that came with it were sweet and went well with the dressing. The vegetables in the salad were also fresh and good. The meat itself for the main steak was at the same level as a regular domestic beef steak, so it wasn't anything to write home about, but the doneness and the garnish went well with the garlic, as you would expect from a steak specialty restaurant. is. It's a restaurant with a great atmosphere, and the lunch price is relatively cheap at less than 5,000 yen, so I think it's a great place to have a leisurely lunch with family or old friends. After a while, the ramen and rice bowls arrived! I like thin noodles for miso ramen♡ The miso flavor didn't have as much punch as I'd hoped, but It was delicious. I was able to get a smaller portion of noodles, which might have been a good thing. The char siu rice bowl was topped with mountain wasabi. The mountain wasabi was pungent and delicious. (Translated by Google) I went there on a recommendation from my coworkers! I ordered the regular miso ramen. There was a lot of bean sprouts, so even the regular size felt quite large. I got a large portion, though. The ramen was quite sweet, so I got tired of it about halfway through, but if you like sweet miso ramen, I think you'll find it delicious. Osaka Tenmangu is a 10th-century Shinto shrine in the bustling port city of Osaka, Japan. It is dedicated to Sugawara Michizane, the deity of learning, and is a popular spot for students seeking success during exam season. The shrine hosts one of Japan's biggest festivals, Tenjin Matsuri, held in July.
When I was there, it seems to have a night event with busy staff working on setting up a few structures. Still, as an important religious center for the locals, it also has the venue for wedding ceremony and other important events. A significant shrine with magnificent history.
CP T — Google review
Osaka Tenmangu Shrine, dedicated to Sugawara no Michizane—the revered deity of learning—offers a rare moment of serenity within the fast-paced rhythm of the city. The moment you pass through its stone torii gate, the noise of the streets begins to fade, replaced by the stillness and gentle gravity unique to ancient shrines. Under the soft, overcast sky captured in your photos, the entrance feels even more solemn, inviting visitors to slow their steps. Inside the grounds, the space opens wide yet remains intimate. Buildings under restoration stand beside beautifully preserved wooden structures, creating a striking contrast between old and new—a reminder of how this shrine has quietly watched over Osaka for centuries. Footsteps on the sandy courtyard sound crisp in the cool air, adding to the meditative atmosphere that naturally draws you inward. The small sub-shrines, wooden gates, and traditional rooftops carry the charm of craftsmanship shaped by time. The purification pavilion and prayer hall feel welcoming, attracting visitors who come to seek blessings, express gratitude, or simply reconnect with themselves amid travel. The omamori you hold—a black charm adorned with gold, pink, and white plum blossoms—beautifully reflects the elegance of Tenmangu. It is more than a souvenir; it is a small piece of the shrine’s protection and warmth, carried back into everyday life. Overall, Osaka Tenmangu is a place where the heart naturally settles. Even with modern buildings rising just beyond its borders, the shrine maintains its own timeless rhythm. Whether you visit to pray for success, enjoy a quiet walk, take photos, or find a moment of peace during your journey, Osaka Tenmangu offers a gentle, enduring sense of calm that lingers long after you leave.

The shrine was gorgeous. A bit of repairing did slightly ruin its image, but not to worry. In summer months it gets very hot and very bright so maybe consider bringing a cap or some sunglasses. I’d also cover your shoulders if possible, knees didn’t seem so much of a problem. The smaller shrine near it is the centrepiece in my opinion though. Great for pictures under the line of Torii gates and also a quiet place to respite from the city life.

Beautiful place to visit and reflect! Dedicated to Sugawara no Michizane the god of learning and art, Osaka Tenmangu is a historic shrine that offers a serene atmosphere and hosting one of Japan's most spectacular festivals . It's a wonderful place to experience both the spiritual and local everyday life of Osaka

I was there on 25 July for the Tenjin Matsuri Festival. I saw the land and boat procession as well as the fireworks. The festival was super packed and overcrowded. The land procession was great. However, the boat procession was a disappointment: about 90% of the boats were tourists boats with people sitting there and drinking. The stalls were nice and the fireworks was good, but nothing really special. Leaving the venue was very difficult, as it was totally overcrowded. Overall, nice one-time experience.
Quo D — Google review
The shrine is very crowded and traffic restriction is imposed during Tenjin Festival happening around end of July. Ceremonies, performances and parades are conducted around 3pm during the festival.
Vince — Google review
There was an interesting event happened. Man wearing traditional clothes on horse back doing archery. It was so cool and unexpected interested experience for me as a foreigner. The only thing was that the main hall was under maintenance and covered.

This is Osaka Station, a symbol of Osaka, the central hub of the world. Inside the building, you'll find bookstores, restaurants, and even a Starbucks. What I personally rate highly is the fact that there are spacious rest areas scattered throughout both the lower and upper floors. There are plenty of benches, and the views are great, making it a very comfortable place to relax. I felt that this place can serve various purposes, whether it's dropping by with no specific plans, hanging out with friends or family, or using it as a meeting spot. It’s quite versatile.
Y. T — Google review
Really cool station here, I liked the looks of it and it seemed pretty bustling, I liked the business and atmosphere of this station. Although I will say me being a noob to Japan didn’t help, I found the train system to be a bit more challenging to navigate. I mean I get that it’s very extensive but me being familiar with Bangkok’s BTS system and then coming to Japan it was like 😯 wait a second…I had to gather my bearings. I remember that I had to get on a train but also had to pay attention to which car I was getting into because midway to the airport where I was going, the train separated and went separate ways. That was something new to me but I managed and got to my flight on time. I would like to come back here and explore more of the area.

The North Gate is an easy access to the train if you want to travel to other cities like Kyoto. The place is so big, I don't want to get lost and wasting my time to get toy desire train. There are lots of F&B outlets and shops too.

One of the curious observation about Japan this time round, is the quasi ubiquity of ice cream shops and the temperature of the ice creams. I almost got the impression that Japanese loves ice cream a lot. I don't see as ice cream shops in london. Their ice cream is not too cold. It is at the right temperature for consumption... I see this from tokyo to Osaka. They are Not too sweet as well. No wonder I hardly see any fat people around in Japan.

It's a pretty big shopping center that's connected to the Osaka Station structure. A lot of boutique clothing stores inside plus some other more specific services as well. It's convenient to wander around if you have nothing better to do and is usually less crowded than other major shopping destinations in the Umeda area.

Takarazuka Suehiro Chūō Park is a delightful oasis that offers a spacious, grassy area perfect for families and outdoor enthusiasts alike. This park stands out with its lush green lawns, providing an ideal setting for various leisure activities such as soccer, kite flying, and picnics. Families flock here on weekends to enjoy the vibrant atmosphere filled with laughter from children playing in the well-equipped playground featuring jungle gyms and other fun structures.
This park is perfect for families. There are always tons of kids playing, and lots of fun activities for them to do. The playground is top notch, and there are benches and plenty of shade under the trees. The river is right next to the park, and there is a lot of space to run around or have a picnic. There are also restrooms, and drink vending machines.

Suehiro Park is an absolute treasure. I was overjoyed to find a park with a large grassy field, not that sandy dirt that characterizes so many parks in Osaka. On any given Sunday, you will find families enjoying various leisure activities such as soccer, kite flying, picnics, baseball, and frisbee. There are tennis courts and a kids playground with jungle gyms galore. And it is right next to the Muko River, which touts miles and miles of bike paths.

The main deity worshipped at Takarazuka Shrine is Oyamatsumi, while Sugawara no Michizane, Hikagu Dojin, Susanoo-no-Mikoto, and Dosojin are also revered. The exact construction date of the shrine is unknown, but it is believed to have been built around the same time as the adjacent Heirinji Temple, founded by Prince Shotoku. In 1966, the shrine changed its name from Goshi Shrine.
This shrine is a bit hidden but it's one of the most impressive ones in takarazuka. The omamori are really cute and the staff members are always friendly. During autumn the shrine is surrounded by pretty autumn leaves

Mount Rokkō, also known as Rokko-san, is a prominent attraction in Kobe, Japan. It is part of the large mountain range that includes Mt. Rokko and offers stunning views of the surrounding area. Visitors can access the peak via cable cars and enjoy an observation deck with panoramic vistas. The area is also famous for its night views, considered one of Japan's three famous night views.
A wonderful, less traveled series of hikes and shops at the top of a mountain in Kobe! Went on a weekday in April and it was empty. All shops open, but no tourists or locals. Wonderful, and easy to get around by bus once up there.

A less commercial sightseeing experience compared to Mount Fuji or Hakone. Very chilly and windy but an enjoyable experience. Cable car was unfortunately under renovation when we visited so there was a shuttle bus service (1100yen round trip) instead that goes up to the observatory. You need to take another bus (380yen one way) up to the ropeway station. The ropeway was 1850yen for a round trip. It was crowded when taking the ropeway to the top but very quiet when going back down.

Been up it twice now and cant recommend it enough. Its such a beautiful hike for all levels of hikers. What I Like a lot ist that it has lots of Terrain and scenery changes that never make it boring. Its also a great challenge If you want to do it as quick as possible. The mountain only really hast one popular viewspot so Take than Info consideration. There is a hut to eat with great food at the top but they only Take Cash, so Take Care. For those still reading, my time was 2:07 from the omoto station or whatever it was called. For those seeking a Challenge, Go for it ;)

We only went to rokko sanjo station and stopped at the tenren observatory. It was a chilly day and very windy so we decided not to keep going. You have to pay a few transfers to get up to the first observation point. We took a bus to rokkomichi, and then paid for the cable car. If u wanted to keep going, u would have to pay for another cable car or bus. The cost adds up. While the view was nice (and likely nicer at night or sunset), there was nothing immediately to do outside of rokko sanjo. The one cafe was closed that day… there were no touristy shops or trinket shops or eateries nearby (might be a good thing depending on who you talk to)… and i found interesting that the area around the observatory was unkempt - weeds and dead leaves growing. I just find that unusual given that other touristy spots are very well maintained and greenery is always consistently manicured. We went on a weekday and perhaps it is busier and livelier on weekends. Admittedly we did not venture further up where there seems to be more touristy things (a tourist info center, a garden, possibly hiking opps), but we werent sure whether it would be worth paying more to risk things being closed since we were there mid afternoon and the weather was not super permitting.

Do check the weather forecast unlike me. Took the tram up because it was foggy and drizzling. Then decided to take the bus to R07 Garden Terrace. Proceeded to hike up via road to this summit. 40minutes one way. There are also trails leading to the summit, but they start and end on the paved road.

Starting from one side of the mountain and hiking towards Arima Onsen is you best bet. Try not to do it the opposite and follow through with the hike to a train station. Don't use a bus, they are a pain in the nuts to ride lol. Buses are expensive and you can get motion sickness from them turning left and right every minute. Kids were barfing in bags on the way back. lol! I recommend hiking in the fall, the foliage is beautiful and you might run into a boar or two, plus the insects aren't so bad.
Lex Ō — Google review
Good place to have a great view of city. Also it’s fun to ride a cable car. We didn’t spend that much time here but it would be too bad to miss this nice view from the top of the mountain.

(Translated by Google) I went there for the first time in a while. It wasn't delicious. I went there for a memorial service, but I didn't think the Buddhist vegetarian course would be delicious, so I ordered something like a normal seasonal course, but I didn't think anything was delicious. There was no meat, and shrimp was served about three times, but my 21-year-old son even said that the one with the angelica leaves in the hot pot was delicious. The stew seemed to have become thin, so I was able to eat it, but it seemed difficult for younger people. The kids who go to culinary school also said that the Japanese food they made themselves on a low budget during their practical training was more delicious, and left almost everything except the sashimi (--;) Also, the opinion of older people may be different, but the number of dishes was also not that great, and I also felt that it was bland. The lunch course was about 5,700 yen. I think the service was good in other areas. The food is OK, if under-seasoned. The salad was actually quite nice but the steak (which looked fantastic) was just OK. The beers, while not the best craft beers I've had in Japan by any means, are decent enough. The service however is what is lacking the most. Indifferent and slightly disengaged is probably the best way I can describe it. I understand the language barrier can be daunting for service staff but QR ordering (which they have) takes most of the effort out of the process for them. Overall, an OK experience but not one I'll be back for.

Great selection of local and national craft beers, lots of IPAs, lagers and ales, a local stout and an interesting sour, and I assume they rotate the menu.Counter seats have a great view of Osaka. Lots of food selections, the stout Hamburg steak is very good. On the 31st floor of Hankyu 32 Bangai building access from inside the station.

We ordered a sparkling wine that was just good and we ordered fresh fish carpaccio that was absolutely uneatable, it was like a chewing gum. We ordered mussels steamed in wine, that were just 12, but three of them were closed or empty and just eatable. Nice place and beautiful view but I can't suggest to have food there.

Soba noodle shop
Miyoshi, a renowned soba restaurant that has sparked curiosity among many, proved to be worth the wait. Arriving at 11:09, I was fortunate enough to bypass the usual long queue and enter the establishment promptly. With approximately 20 patrons eagerly anticipating their turn, the atmosphere buzzed with excitement. After a brief 40-minute wait for my order of Tenzaru soba and warm duck soba, I savored each delectable bite.

LOL (This is not a criticism at all) I was worried about warm soba noodles, but what I got this time was ⚫︎Duck steamer 1700 yen ⚫︎Changed to a large size, probably 300 yen (It wasn't written on the menu, but when I asked them verbally, they probably said so. If you're interested, please ask the restaurant.) ⚫︎3 pieces of rice balls 450 yen is! It wasn't a lunchtime drink, but rather a cup of lunch, so it was a slightly richer lunch! lol Put that aside and take a look at this visual! The dipping sauce is beautiful! It's wonderful! Even though the soba noodles were large, the naughty bamboo shoots made it very filling! lol Of course it's delicious soba! The onigiri visuals are also cute! The rim of the teacup they served me was chipped, and while I thought that this is just how it goes sometimes, I looked around and saw that no one else's teacups seemed to be chipped... I asked the staff to replace my teacup. They did, but it seemed like they didn't notice that it was chipped (should I have said that much?). I was disappointed, as until this time I had thought this was a restaurant that paid attention to tableware and in-store fixtures. The sudachi soba was delicious. (Translated by Google) *Store visit period: Weekdays, late January 2025 It was possible to reserve seats for lunch. (Maybe only on weekdays?) We had plans to go to the Sakasegawa Station area, so the two of us enjoyed lunch together. This is a restaurant that I was interested in because there was a long line when I went to Sakasegawa around 1pm. All buckwheat flour is domestically produced, and they use different varieties from all over the country depending on the season. I heard from a friend in the Takarazuka area that the buckwheat noodles are popular in the Sakasegawa area, where you can enjoy the soba noodles that are ground in-house using two stone mills with different coarseness. Mika set meal (oyster rice, warm soba, small bowl) 1,350 yen Fried grated yam 1,450 yen I ordered. I was curious about the fried grated yam, and when I ate it, it was exquisite. The first thing I noticed was how good the soup stock was. The feeling of the fried noodles melting into the soba is exquisite. I wonder if the oil I'm using is good. I was surprised at the deliciousness of the fried stock itself, which is made with a high percentage of yam (100%?). Fried shrimp, wood ear mushrooms, and ginkgo nuts mixed with yam would be great to enjoy freshly fried alone with sake. I was hooked. When I took a bite of the oyster rice, I could feel the quality of the soup stock and rice, and the flavor of the oysters was strong. This time we both enjoyed the warm soba noodles. Although the soba noodles were warm, I guess they had a nice aroma. I'm curious about the taste of chilled soba noodles. After eating the soba, I wanted to eat more, so I ordered an additional rice ball. The price was 450 yen for 3 pieces, but I received 300 yen for 2 pieces. Although it was a simple onigiri, I could feel the flavor of the rice. It is said to be rice from Tamba Sasayama. Other set meals include Soba set meal (rice ball, small bowl, pickles) 1,030 yen Monthly set meal In January, it was Zoni Soba (1,250 yen). *Set meals are only available for lunch on weekdays. I was also interested in the spicy oroshi soba that is on the limited time menu. Single bowl items are also available. I guess the rice bowl is delicious because the soup stock is good. Perhaps the secret to its popularity is the extensive menu. There are plenty of ate options that can be enjoyed with alcohol from noon. It's great that you can also enjoy tempura, stewed conger eel, and rolled eggs. There are some aspects of the soba itself that you won't understand unless you try it cold, but the fried grated yam, the dashi stock, and the rice were wonderful.

I was confused about Kinpura, but here I ended up with the fried yam yam that I used to go back to. This is tempura that you can only taste here. A large bowl of hot soba was an additional 250 yen. As before, it takes quite a while from ordering to receiving the bowl. I was impressed by the consistent taste of the soup stock and the chewy texture of the soba noodles. However, I wonder if the reason why it didn't have the rustic soba feel and aroma that it used to have is due to the timing, or maybe the formulation has changed, or maybe the buckwheat flour has changed. ? However, Mika is still one of a kind. It was very satisfying and delicious. There was a Michelin 2016 Acstar on the table, and I was so happy that I thought, "Wow!
