Waterfalls
Joren Falls is a captivating block waterfall located along the Kano River, boasting a 25-meter drop into a serene pool. This natural wonder is steeped in folklore and has been designated as one of Japan's Top 100 Waterfalls. The surrounding area offers diverse sightseeing opportunities, including the unique terrain of the Geopark, featuring attractions such as Mt.
Nice waterfall right next to a parking lot. You need to walk a little bit and there are a bunch of steps to take. At the bottom of the falls theres a Wasabi farm which is cool to see. You can also rent angling gear and try to catch some fish.
Matthijs — Google review
One of the most beautiful waterfall sites anywhere on the world. Surrounded by wasabi fields. Plenty of of parking space. Short hike. Interesting shops selling wasabi and rainbow trouts. Very accessible for those travelling with kids. Not packed with people so you can still get a serene atmosphere at the waterfall. Great drive to the location is a plus
Rizal P — Google review
Wow this place is a total GEM and must visit. Not only for the waterfall but to see how Wasabi is made! Try the wasabi ice cream at the end (glad I tried but wouldn't again). This place was a highlight for me fromt he view and all. Go and visit!
Min P — Google review
Beautiful, but too touristy. Can't access the river unless you pay for fishing, which is disappointing. Would have been amazing to sit down on a rock and dip feet in the stream. For those who excuse fencing off the falls by claiming protection of environment from tourists - there are hundreds more waterfalls all over Japan that are open but just as clean, so no made up excuses are necessary.

Go to Izu_Hanto but not stopping by Joren Falls then it is not completely yet. Story of famous Izu dancers by Kawabata, it is here, this location is within the story, the young student with a young girl encounter through out their trips. Parking is large free, right by the way down to Jorell falls is status of the beautiful two famous innocent, light hearts romance standing. The water falls down by 200 more steps but in well maintained and well cared for every one. Down to the falls you will feel the strong of water running and clean air fresh air. Small shop for wasabi, ice cream and sign up if you want to go fishing there. It is one of the main stops in Izu peninsula if you are interested in the beautiful izu Hanto. Going up after visiting the falls then coffee shop Idoriko's coffee shop. Name from the old train used to run at this side. Gifts shops is also carrying many products, fresh wasabi 's available to purchase if you like. This place is good stop and easy to all. We loved to be here. Thank you
Y. Y — Google review
The photos don't do it justice, it was more spectacular than I thought, especially in the rain. The surprising bonus was the small wasabi farm also in the gorge, so you can see the waterfall and get your wasabi hit (including buying fresh wasabi) in the same place. There are about 200 steps and no wheelchair accessibility. No toilets in the gorge either.
Douglas A — Google review
Nice, cold, easy to reach. Try the wasabi cashews sold down at the waterfall!
Jarno C — Google review
Waterfall is around 15mins walk from the parking area. There is huge Wasabi farm around the waterfall. Fresh wasabi from yard is kept for selling. Shopping area is available near the parking area with all variety of WASABI snacks and ice cream. Beautiful place to relax and enjoy nature.

Hiking area
Old Amagi Tunnel North Side is a popular spot known for its connection to the novel Dancer of Izu. Visitors are drawn to the small light at the end of the dark tunnel, creating an irresistible allure. The road leading to the tunnel from the north is in poor condition, but still accessible by car. Despite rough terrain and potential bear disturbances, many hikers frequent this area on weekends.
So cool! But be aware the road is bumpy to get out there.
Madison M — Google review
You can drive through it! Looks narrow and is quite long so not sure what you'd do if another vehicle comes th other way. Just do it, you only live once!

You would love this place especially if you have watched the movie or read the novel.

Tunnel is closed to vehicle for repairs (opens end of September 2020) but go walk the tunnel instead of driving. It's nice.

Kazu Y — Google review
One of the coolest places. Feels like a real lost place. You'll walk up a street that has a little incline for quite some time and end up in front of the old tunnel. The tunnel itself has light inside but there's nobody around and, as far as I could see, no cars pass through it. Quite a spooky experience.

Toi Beach is a family-friendly destination with calm waves, making it perfect for a relaxing time by the sea. The beach house offers reasonably priced food and drinks, along with free showers and clean restrooms. While it can get crowded during summer weekends, weekdays are more peaceful. However, some visitors feel that the beach could benefit from better maintenance to keep the water clean and improve facilities for families and children.

I brought my Shiba Inu here for the first time in summer. Quiet, peaceful, there is a park next to the beach, restrooms, parking, clean water near the beach, clear water, cool. Unfortunately, the sea view is not so beautiful.

(Translated by Google) Visited on a Saturday in August. I stayed at an inn right across the street and was woken up early in the morning by the voices of the lifeguards practicing. Thank you for your hard work. It was a very large beach and the waves were calm. The water was a little murky due to the typhoon, but by the afternoon it was clear enough that you could see the fish swimming. The water was shallow and we were able to go quite far back. It seemed like the kids were enjoying the scenery while floating on their swim rings. There are free showers and changing rooms, as well as disabled toilets and beach huts, so families can enjoy themselves without any problems. There were many lifeguards and a well-maintained monitoring system, so we were able to enjoy swimming in the sea with peace of mind. I'll definitely go again next year.

(Translated by Google) My family and I visited Toi Beach. While the water isn't particularly clear, the coast is clean and very pleasant. One of the best things about this beach is the Toi Onsen Maru, a converted boat that doubles as a hot spring bathhouse. Rinse-off in the hot spring after a swim—it was incredibly relaxing. The shallow waters are wide, so kids can play safely. The waves are calm, making it a perfect family destination. The nearby parking lot, which is free for two hours, was also a great help. It wasn't too crowded, so we enjoyed the stress-free experience. What impressed us most was the friendliness of the people, both locals and tourists. They greeted each other, were kind to our children, and the warm atmosphere was soothing. This beach is highly recommended for those looking for a relaxing time or a safe and enjoyable experience with their families.

Since it was a weekday, there weren't many people, so I had a great time with my family. The beach is moderately shallow up to about 20 meters from the shore, and then suddenly becomes deep enough to barely reach the height of an adult's feet. Please be careful about the depth, especially if you are playing with children. If you are a small child or someone who is not used to water and cannot swim, we recommend wearing a life jacket or floatation device that will help you float. There are also rescues, but parents should always stay close to their small children. There is a man-made rocky area near where the stream flows. The footing may be slippery or bumpy, so please be careful not to get injured. I took my 2nd grade elementary school child there, and the sea water was very warm around 2pm, and the sun was setting in the evening, making it a magical and beautiful place. Parking fee is 1000 yen. Please specify your parking location. Also, you can use the shower for 3 minutes for 100 yen, so you can wash yourself thoroughly when you get out of the sea. Nishi-Izu is such a beautiful place, and it's a great place to go from Tokyo or Saitama in about 3 and a half hours. We recommend leaving a little early in the morning and arriving by around 10am. We also recommend many local restaurants that serve a wide variety of seafood. If you want to go out, search for local restaurants before going. "Nature Village Otaki" is a hidden gem in Nishiizu, offering an epic waterfall and a thrilling adventure. To reach the waterfall, visitors can park at the wasabi farm parking lot and embark on a hike along the river. The trail involves walking through tall grass and crossing a small metal bridge before reaching the magnificent waterfall. Although the trail is considered dangerous, it's worth the effort for nature enthusiasts seeking an off-the-beaten-path experience.

(Translated by Google) As you head towards "Nature Village Otaki" from Prefectural Route 59, the road will split into two. Take the unpaved road on the right, cross the bridge, and it will turn into a concrete paved road. If you continue further, you will be near the waterfall. I was able to go all the way. There was originally a parking space for 2-3 cars, but there was a fallen tree and there was only space for one car to turn around. I had no choice but to turn the car around, reverse it up to the top of the forest road, and park the car. If multiple cars are parked, the car above you won't be able to get out until the car below you leaves, so it's best to arrive with plenty of time to spare. Also, the forest road is narrow and there are many falling rocks, so please be careful when driving. If you are not confident in driving, I think it is a good idea to park your car near the fork in the road and walk. You can walk from the parking space to the waterfall for about 5 to 10 minutes, but please be careful where you step. It took a little effort to reach the waterfall, but it was worth seeing (*´∀`)♪ (Original)

(Translated by Google) I visited Koganezaki Crystal Park for lunch. I had a tempura bowl, tempura zaru (cold soy sauce), and a small curry. The market was closed over the weekend during the Obon holiday, so they only served tempura and curry. Their commitment to providing high-quality food was apparent, which left a good impression. The tempura was crispy and had a wide selection, and the flavor of each ingredient was delicious. The curry was light on spices, with the main flavor being the umami of tomato. I'd like to return when they have fresh seafood. (Translated by Google) Crispy and crunchy tempura with lots of shrimp The parking lot is large and easy to access, and there are plenty of parking spaces. The bowls are gold, which is a nice touch, perhaps in recognition of the nearby Toi Gold Mine. The restaurant has a casual atmosphere and handwritten menus, which give it a friendly feel. The tempura is fried after you order, so it's crispy and has a lot of shrimp, which is very satisfying. The service was quick and efficient. With the sophisticated staff and spacious seating arrangement, I was able to relax and enjoy my meal. The portions were larger than I expected, so I didn't feel like my stomach was heavy, and I ate fried food, but it was surprisingly okay. During a rainy day, amidst a bicycle event, I made a stop at Kaisantei restaurant. Despite being drenched in wet rain gear, the staff kindly guided me inside without uttering a word of complaint. Amongst an array of dried fish set meals, I opted for their signature "dried fish set meal," which appeared to be the fundamental choice.
Honestly don’t remember what I tried but the staff were nice. Taught me to try some of the fish first then add the soup into it and mix with rice. Tastes so delicious!!!

I wonder if four groups is the limit? When I went, it was full. There were only a few customers, but there were four groups, so it felt full. I waited about 30 minutes. They asked me about the menu first and showed me to my seat, and I was very happy with the effort they made to make sure I didn't have to wait too long. I ordered a set meal of dried horse mackerel and fried goldeye (with extra sashimi) and a set meal of boiled goldeye. When the food was brought out, I was surprised at how big the goldeye was for this price...?! There were three types of sashimi, and the fried goldeye was also big! So luxurious! More than anything, it was delicious!! The horse mackerel was also topped with oil, which was great! You could have as much rice as you wanted, and the lady in the kitchen served it for you. Best of all, there are two kinds of salted fish on the side. These are also delicious! You can buy them at the souvenir shop next door, so you'll want to buy some to take home haha The staff are friendly and the value for money is great. The taste is great. Nothing to say! I'm really glad I came. I'd definitely like to go again! We had the seafood marinated rice bowl and a single order of dried large fatty horse mackerel. The marinated rice bowl, which contained horse mackerel, bonito, and seared golden-eyed snapper, was very flavorful and very satisfying to eat! The refreshingly sweet sauce is an exquisite seasoning that does not overwhelm the flavor of the fish. This sauce is also poured over the rice, and you can eat it all up with just this! The dried fish was thick and fluffy! The perfect saltiness and the fat of the horse mackerel were a perfect match. Everything was delicious and I was very satisfied! The dried fatty mackerel I bought as a souvenir was also very delicious, and I would like to stop by again if I come to Izu! Thank you for the meal! The parking lot is directly in front of the store, across the street. It was full so I had to wait on a bench outside. There were ashtrays installed so there were people smoking and I have asthma so it was tough. I look at the site's menu and think about what to order. I decided on the jumbo shrimp tempura bowl. I didn't have to wait that long and when I looked at the menu, the jumbo shrimp tempura bowl had been crossed out with a marker. (There wasn't quite a menu on the website.) So I thought I'd try something less edible, so I ordered fried rockfish, and my partner ordered boiled kingfish and sake-steamed clams. Kimme was smaller than I expected. The taste is delicious but strong. My partner says it's salty. The quantity of fried rockfish may not be enough for men, but for me, as a woman, I enjoyed the taste of both salt and ponzu sauce, and I was able to cut off the tough parts with special scissors and eat the entire fish. The accompanying spaghetti salad, miso soup, and pickles were average. The taste was delicious. Overall, the prices were tourist prices. My impression is that it's expensive. I may have had too high expectations since the reviews were very good. The Dogashima Cave Tour in Japan offers a mesmerizing experience for nature enthusiasts and photographers. The tour takes you on a boat ride along the rugged coastline and crystal-clear waters, providing stunning views of the geological formations. Inside the cave, intricate rock formations and the soothing sounds of the sea create a magical atmosphere. While there are different cruise courses available, the basic tour offers beautiful views from the water and an opportunity to explore the captivating cave.
I go the trip on weekend and no advance buy the ticket. We wait the boat not over 10 mins. We spent time around 15-20 mins. All is good.

We did the 25 min boat rive to the cave - coast was beautiful. You only go inside one cave but it was still cool. We did not have to wait - we bought our tickets and were able to immediately board the boat. I think they run every 30 minutes. Cool way to see the coastline. I don't think they had explanations of the tour in English - it was hard to hear what they were saying over the speaker system.

I visited this place on a public holiday. Unfortunately it was high tide on that day and as a result we were not able to take a boat ride. Otherwise there are multiple boat ride routes that you can choose from. If the boat rides are not operational, you can trek on the top of the cave to the mountain top for a good view.

You can check the morning of to make sure the tour is happening. There was some rain scheduled for the day I visited, but I was lucky that it didn't begin early and I was still able to go. The tour is quick and nothing about the boat is special, but the views from the water are very beautiful and magical feeling. Being inside the cave was really cool, there were people on the walkway at the top waving down to us. Everyone seemed happy to experience the beautiful nature.

My bar was set low and I was pleasantly surprised. The scenery was enough for me. The audio guide was in Japanese only and I don’t understand enough for it to make sense so all I had was the views and it was beautiful. The way the captain turned the boat around inside the cave was very impressive.

Norihama Beach is a stunning coastal spot with a picturesque view of the surrounding cove. It's an ideal destination for sunbathing, swimming, and unwinding amidst the beautiful scenery. The beach offers a serene ambiance, making it perfect for relaxation and enjoying the sunset, which is particularly breathtaking in late June and early July. The clear waters and gentle waves make it suitable for leisurely swims or simply chilling out by the shore.
This is a really great beach with a beautiful view of the surrounding cove. It's perfect for sun-bathing on the sand, going swimming, and just relaxing and enjoying the scenery, especially so in late-June and early-July before the summer tourists come. The sunsets from here are also the most beautiful I've ever seen! You can see the sunset from various areas around town throughout the year, but according to their website the best times to see it from Dougashima are between September and March. The downsides are that the local shops directly next to the beach don't open until August. Not a big problem though because you can easily walk to restaurants and 7-Eleven nearby. Highly recommended! If the weather is good, this is one of the most beautiful spots in Izu!

Dogashima Park, located in the western area of Izu Peninsula, is renowned for its stunning coastline featuring unique stone formations, cliffs, and caves formed by lava flow. Visitors can partake in boat sightseeing and explore several beaches in the vicinity. The park also offers various amenities such as hotels, resorts, shops, and restaurants. Additionally, there is a promenade around Tensodo area with breathtaking views of the natural monument and Tensodo Cave.

One of the best and most underrated place of Japan.Full of natural beauty and beautiful oceanic view. There is natural mountain rock whose shape is just like Elephant and tortoise. The parking is huge and free of cost. However its far from main town area like Shizuoka. Access is very inconvenient coz only few local buses runs there. You have to pay a transportation charges in two stops so make sure to bring a changes when you go there. We didn't knew about that but some how we able to manage to pay the road tax. You can also observe the canyons via ships. You have to pay some amount of yen and then you can see the rocks, oceans via ship. The ship takes about 20-30min to complete its trip and worth to its price as well. Really a beautiful place to visit. Highly recommended.

Tombolo Land Bridge is a unique natural wonder located in Dogashima kaigan, a renowned geopark. This phenomenon occurs between massive rock formations in the ocean, creating a tidal island that can be accessed during low tide. Visitors are advised to check the low tide schedule before visiting to ensure the land bridge will be visible. The area offers opportunities for exploration, photography, and wildlife observation amidst stunning rock formations.
Among the many viewpoints in the area, this one standed out due to the great experience of crossing the ridge with waves coming from both directions. You xan either park at the large parking lot on the main road or drive all the way down to the sea level. There are 3-4 parking spots and public toilets there

Dogashima Onsen Hotel is a contemporary hot spring hotel located in the southern end of Nishiizu, known for its dramatic coastline and uninhabited islands. The hotel offers airy rooms with sea views, free breakfast, and casual dining. It has a Showa-era atmosphere and vast grounds that make it ideal for a multi-night stay. The hot spring at the hotel boasts smooth and slippery skin after bathing, similar to Bato Onsen in Tochigi.
You can feel the age of this hotel, but the rooms are very clean and well maintained..the view from the rooms is beautiful and the open air Onsen is very relaxing with a great view of the ocean especially during sunset. There are several free amenities included with some free snacks and drinks which makes this place a great value.
Yuri K — Google review
The location is the main attraction of this hotel. They are right next to the Dogashima land crossing and ocean view rooms offer a beautiful scenery. There are very few hotels in this area so they do have the market cornered, so to speak. The properly is old and very much in need of repair. Water damaged exterior, paint peeling interior, dirty windows and rooms smell of mold. We paid the equivalent of a Tokyo/ Osaka 4-star hotel half-board for one night’s stay. The key difference being there there was no service provided by Dogashima Onsen Hotel: you pour your own drinks at happy hour, no meals included or futon preparation service. The pool was closed and the women’s sauna was not working during our visit, neither was mentioned by the front desk at check in. This is two weeks before the start of summer season. There is very minimal non-Japanese signage on the property. I read a little kanji so was able to get around, but it is clear the hotel primarily caters for domestic guests. It felt like we were promised a beautiful horse but received a donkey. I will not be staying here again.

The hotel has a very modern interior design which fascinated me but was able to retain the japanese culture through their room designs and amenities. Very nice place to stay overnight and had fun during the day at the beach or pool.

Futo Coast is a popular destination for diving, snorkeling, and exploring tide pools due to its clear waters and rocky coastline. Visitors can relax on the beach while admiring the stunning rock formations. Nearby attractions include Koganezakis uma rock in Ugusu town, Crystal Beach, and a campsite with a white sand beach. The area offers awesome scenery and unique geology but is susceptible to strong waves.
2 stone beaches are connected and the water is astonishingly clear & blue. Waves make a calming sound.

Great rocky beach with swimming, snorkelling, scuba, fishing, SUP. Plenty of parking. Nice cafe. Quite busy in summer even though the access appears deserted. It's not privatized like some beaches around Izu. There's south and west facing areas for more options when the wind is up. My wife loved the snorkelling and saw lots of fish.

This place was excellent for a roadside stop. There was free parking before 10:00. I found that the southern portion was less occupied and a lot of fun to snorkel. There are lots of caves to explore. Lots of tropical fish that can be seen by snorkelers or divers. There is fresh water to wash your body and equipment off before leaving.

Clean water, few people, beautiful beach. Can not come here if you do not drive a car. No bus here
Snkparty1 — Google review
Awesome scenery, very cool geology (as pictured), great water but susceptible to strong waves and the rocky shore (no sand beach) make this more of a come-and-go location than a 'spend-an-entire-afternoon' destination. Parking located on the grass lawns just 100 m from the water is not well-managed and is, well, free. Parking right next to the water will cost you about 1000 yen.

Tokitei is a delightful culinary gem nestled by Dogajima Harbor, perfect for travelers seeking a hearty meal with stunning sea views. One of its standout offerings is the limited bukkake bowl featuring filleted and pounded horse mackerel, complemented by onions and mustard greens. While the fish may have a subtle scent, the rich sauce elevates the dish beautifully.

(Translated by Google) I received the bukkake bowl, which is limited to 30 servings. Filleted and pounded horse mackerel is served with onions and mustard greens. The horse mackerel has a slight fishy smell, but the sauce that comes with it is so thick that it doesn't bother me. You can also enjoy three different variations: eat it with sauce, add hot spring eggs, and finish with kelp dashi chazuke. Also, perhaps because it is intended to be eaten this way, the amount of rice is a bit large, which makes it feel satisfying. It's delicious any way you eat it, so give it a try. Also, the miso soup has crab legs in it, and the soup stock is delicious. I think it costs around 1,800 yen, which is a bargain even though it's a tourist destination. The cost performance is really good (Original)

There is a private parking lot on the opposite side of the road from Yuzo Kayama Museum, and if you go down the stairs from there, you will find a shop along the coast. At the time of checkout, I won a 500 yen ticket from Nishiizu Town Scratch and bought New Summer Orange Jelly and went home. We also sell guri tea and some souvenirs. The store is spacious and the staff are friendly. Measures against the coronavirus are also being taken seriously. There is a public restroom right in front of you and it is clean. (Translated by Google) I usually avoid these types of restaurants in tourist areas, but the man in the parking lot seemed nice, so I stopped in on a Saturday afternoon on my way back from a sightseeing boat. (They were closed, but they were open.) As others have mentioned, the food was slow to come, the order was incorrect, and even one portion wasn't even ordered, so if you have an outside scheduled time, I'd recommend avoiding this place. But there's something about this place that's both laid-back and endearing, and the nori ramen has a strange, nostalgic broth that's neither ramen nor udon—it reminded me of school cafeterias back in the day. (I tried adding the cold udon noodles my family ordered and it went really well.) I think I'll stop by again the next time I'm in Dogashima. (Translated by Google) I visited the restaurant on a Saturday while on a tour. I arrived about 15 minutes before opening time. There were already six groups waiting on the list in front of the entrance. When the time came, people were called in order of the list, and after they ordered and paid, they sat down. This time I ordered the Ikasama Don (1,100 yen). When it was ready, I went to the counter to pick it up myself. The Ikasama Don was topped with two types of squid, pickled squid and normal strips of squid sashimi, with an egg yolk in the middle. It tasted as good as it looked. The miso soup had one Fujitsubo in it. This was also delicious, probably because it was made with Fujitsubo stock. There wasn't much squid, and although it was served in a bowl, the amount of rice was about the same as a regular bowl. To be honest, my overall impression was that it was average. Still, I think they're doing a good job for the price, especially considering that there are a few restaurants here and there that charge tourist prices. Also, the amount of squid-related items seemed to be limited. Its specialty, the "Ikasama-don," is a two-color platter of squid sashimi and squid marinated in soy sauce, topped with egg yolk for a mellow flavor. The park is also known for Usugu, a popular beach diving site that is relatively shallow and suitable for divers of all levels. As part of a National Park, the area is well-protected, ensuring good diving conditions.

Outdoor Activities
Koganezaki Beach, also known as Nego Beach, is a popular spot in Izu Peninsula for diving and snorkeling due to its crystal-clear waters. The beach allows camping, offering visitors the chance to stay overnight near the shore and experience summer in Shizuoka to the fullest. Accessible from various camping sites nearby, it's an ideal place for a complete outdoor adventure. The area boasts warm weather and stunning views of the golden rock surface illuminated by the setting sun.
Clear, calm water. Great for kayaking and snorkeling! Parking is free and people are friendly.
Kristen Y — Google review
Rocky beach attached to a camping ground at one end and a dive shop at the other (western) end. Basic toilet facilities if you're not part of the camp site. We went there to snorkel and it was good towards the dive shop, but not the best we did in Izu. Check the prevailing winds before deciding to come here.

Small, beautiful and uncrowded beach. Great scenery, great water (when waves are calm) and a good deal of wildlife. Not bad for snorkeling, but not the best either. Free showers available!

(Translated by Google) This cove is a mecca for diving, where you can meet lots of fish, and the regulator air bubbles up from the water. Campgrounds and outdoor concerts are also held in the area, and it was fun to anchor here and take a bath from time to time. (Translated by Google) The beach is about 3 minutes away from the parking lot. There is a toilet on the way and a water source in front of the beach, which is appreciated. However, although the toilet and water source are close, the rocky slope of the beach is a little difficult to walk with luggage because of the loose stones. The beach is small and the waves are gentle, and although there were not many fish, there were blue fish and cute fish, and the water was clear, so it was fun to snorkel leisurely. It gets deep quickly, so be careful with children. (Translated by Google) Visited in July 2023. I moved from Ukishima Coast. There is a large free parking lot above the Koganezaki campsite near the coast, and you can reach the coast in less than 5 minutes. There is a drinking fountain and shaded bench by the entrance toilet. There are no showers or shops, so be sure to buy food and drinks in advance. The coast is a stone beach similar to Ukishima Beach, and there is no sandy beach. Be careful of small children by holding their hands to prevent them from falling. The sea was so beautiful! ✨ I went snorkeling, and there were spots where there were hundreds to thousands of beautiful fish, depending on the location, so it was a great experience. Lover’s Cape, also known as Koibito Misaki, is a romantic spot in Japan that overlooks the Sea of Japan. It's a popular destination for couples who come to enjoy the breathtaking views and make wishes at the heart-shaped shrine. The cape features a wooden walkway leading to a clifftop observation deck with sculptures, offering stunning views of Suruga Bay and Mount Fuji on clear days.
Views at the tip of the cape are extremely beautiful but be prepared to walk up and down slopes and climb stairs to the observation deck. Overall perfect place to soak into the seaside view! Unfortunately, I was not able to see a clear of mt Fuji again.

Absolutely phenomenal view of mount fuji via the sea, and views of the coast all around you. However, check the weather as its not a good idea to come when its cloudy or rainy due to limited visibility. Be prepared to walk 10 minutes on quite steep concrete. Nice walk however.

It was the perfect destination to take a couple. Although the place is called “Lover’s Cape,” it’s a wonderful spot for anyone to enjoy. A short 10-minute walk through lush greenery from the parking area leads to a high vantage point overlooking the sea. The area is rich in nature, with the constant song of bush warblers, and the ocean was beautiful.
ITokyoTravel-iTokyoDrive T — Google review
It’s much more than the description on the website, before I came here, I thought the things I can do there are ringing the bell and drinking a cup of coffee. The truth is there is a big garden and a small mountain, you can enjoy the natural views and do some exercise by climbing the mountain. Moreover, the cats there are actually very cute and popular, many souvenirs are based on them! Kawaii

Nice little walk with spectacular views! You should be able to climb stairs, as there are really plenty of them 😀. Most of the time, you can walk in the forest which was really nice, as the sun was really hot when we came here.

Really nice spot. We were there on a warm November day with a nice breeze blowing, and no snow on Mt. Fuji yet. Steep paved hike down and back to a large platform. 10-15 minute walk each way. Gift shop at the top had a few snacks and lots of souvenirs.

Very nice scenic views of the ocean and Mount Fuji. Well worth the trip on a clear day, but may not be worth it on a cloudy day. Steep hill to walk up and down from the free parking lot. Don’t forget to ring the bells with your lover!!

(Translated by Google) Shoreizan Tofukuji Temple is a Rinzai sect Kenchoji temple whose principal image is the Amida Buddha. It was founded in 1233 as Tenpuku-ji Temple of the Shingon sect, and is said to have been relocated in 1309. When it was rebuilt in 1395, it converted from Shingon to Rinzai. It was later moved to its current location and renamed Tofukuji when it was rebuilt. The main hall's coffered ceiling is decorated with a plaster painting of 500 arhats, and on all four sides are placed dolls of celestial maidens, depicting the heavenly realm in which they are dancing. This celestial painting was created in the late Taisho period by Tamura Toshimitsu, a local craftsman known as Donbeiyasu, who spent five years creating it. I paid an admission fee of 200 yen and a stamp of 300 yen. You can listen to the explanation from the old lady and enjoy as much as time allows. It is said that the family commissioned Toshimitsu Tamura, a plasterer from Gunma, to complete the work, which took about five years, for the purpose of holding a memorial service for his parents. I felt the power of the dragon's work, the imagination of the three-dimensional plaster work, and the descriptive power of the watermark. If it's for a memorial service, we can't help it, but it's a bit of a shame that it's kept in a place where it can't be seen by many people, but we hope it continues to be kept with care. When I went to the entrance, I was greeted by someone who appeared to be the wife of the temple, and she opened the main hall. The dragon and 500 arhats made of plaster on the ceiling of the main hall are a sight to behold. It is made three-dimensionally in places (reminiscent of a picture book), making it very impressive. The wife explained in great detail the origin of the product. People will be more interested in something if they have knowledge about it rather than looking at it vaguely. When I asked if it was possible to take photos, I was told that it was OK to take a few photos as long as I didn't use a flash on my smartphone. In addition to deterioration over time, due to the characteristics of the building, it is easily damaged, so it seems that efforts are being made to preserve it. There are some spots that look amazing in photos but aren't as good when you go there, but this one was even more amazing than I had imagined. Admission fee is 200 yen. The parking lot is free, so even large vehicles can park there without any hassle. If I had a chance, I would definitely like to visit again. Nestled in the charming area of Ukusu, Yabusei is a delightful soba restaurant that has become a must-visit for both locals and travelers alike. On my recent visit, I arrived just after noon, guided by a local's recommendation. The atmosphere was lively with other patrons enjoying their meals, but I quickly found a seat without any hassle. The menu featured an enticing tempura bowl made from fresh bigfin reef squid that piqued my interest.

(Translated by Google) We arrived here a little after 12:30 on a recommendation from a local. There were other customers there, but we were able to get a seat without any problems. Looking at the menu, we saw a tempura bowl made with local bigfin reef squid, which raised our expectations. It wasn't on the menu, but we were told that it could easily be paired with soba noodles, so we ordered it. Our four servings were ready in less than 15 minutes, and we started digging in. The bigfin reef squid, which we were looking forward to, was absolutely delicious, and we were right. The soba noodles were just as chewy, with a nice, rich broth that made the meal go down smoothly. The seaweed miso soup was also delicious, and the pickles were well-made, which was great. Bad restaurants often have poor pickles, so this restaurant is truly loved by locals for a reason. We'd like to visit again if we have the opportunity. Thank you for the meal. I forgot to mention that my colleague ordered the cold dish, and it looked just as delicious as it appears in the photo.

Reference Price: Aji (Japanese horse mackerel) sushi and Kasago (rockfish) miso soup combo for ¥2,000 tax included. Service: This restaurant is managed by an elderly married couple. The husband has a huge attitude, but his wife is kind and cute as a little old lady. Drink: Small selection. No menu or prices listed. I ordered the Izu limited edition bottle of beer. Food: They offer Japanese dishes using plenty of Japanese horse mackerel. I ordered the combo, and the sushi was alright. The miso soup was tasty, but it was nothing special for me. Space/Atmosphere: A typical sushi restaurant. I don't know why and it seemed odd that he told me that the restaurant is for “members only”. Anyway, it was a good experience, but there is no reason to come back here again. This restaurant prides itself on Aji, but unfortunately, it is a regular sushi restaurant.

I've passed by the store several times, and even if there's a sign saying "open for business," it's not open unless the electronic bulletin board is lit. No mask, a naked general in a tank top, cigarette butts left on the counter, smoking next to him after he finished serving sushi. The tea cups that came out were caked with dirt and the inside of the store didn't look sanitary...I was worried. I thought the sushi that came out was okay, but since it was served with as much ginger as the horse mackerel, I thought it would have a disinfecting effect, so I ate it. There were many past glories posted on the walls, as well as sanitation awards. now? ? ? I was more worried about the hygiene than the taste. Perhaps because there was a customer in front of me without a reservation, the first customer service was unpleasant, there was no music, and it was so awkward that I couldn't help but want to leave early, but after I finished making it and had some time to spare, the general's character became brighter. It's rocky, so wearing appropriate footwear is recommended. During the summer months, parking needs to be reserved in advance. The area is surrounded by buoys and has lifeguards on duty for safety. Overall, it's a great place for snorkeling with fewer crowds compared to other beaches.
Beautiful beach with a clear water and a lot of colorful fish Great for snorkeling and diving Or just swimming Family friendly In offseason is a lot of free parking lots just near the beach Quite place with beautiful nature

(Translated by Google) 3.8 ・Even though a typhoon was approaching, the visibility was better than I expected. ・There were a few large fish, including snapper fish and others, searching the sand with their antennae for food. The snapper fish swam nearby for a while without fleeing, allowing for careful observation. I enjoyed seeing butterflyfish and vibrant blue and yellow fish. Smaller fish were found around the rock face on the right side facing the ocean, while larger fish seemed to be circling the entire area. The most exciting thing was a school of about 30 squids, each about 15cm long. They were very wary and fled when I got too close. ・There were almost no corals or sea anemones. ・Parking is by reservation only. Check availability on the website, print a ticket form from the Ticket Pia machine at a 7-Eleven, and pay at the register. The road to the parking lot is quite narrow. There's an old man at the entrance to the parking lot, so hand over your ticket. The ticket is large, so I folded it up, but it wasn't a problem at all. - The beach is full of large stones, making it difficult to walk on. If you're using a tent, it's a good idea to bring a thick picnic blanket or chair. The nearby kayaking tour took you to the island across the shore, where swimming is not prohibited. It's unclear whether snorkeling is permitted. There are three free outdoor showers, which is very convenient.

Very nice little beach with abundance of beautiful stones, that I keep returning to over and over. Unlike east part of Izu, this side is very relaxed.

(Translated by Google) Uniquely in Western Izu, the beach faces due west, and the westerly wind scoops up the seawater, and in synchronization with the swells that send it into Suruga Bay, the waves are quite severe. Despite the blue sky, the severe wind that cuts your cheeks and makes it hard to stand in the middle of winter, and the waves that crash and crash with a roaring sound, sending up spray...The terrifying, rough waves are worth seeing in another sense. Steak house
Restaurant
Don Marlin, a western restaurant adjacent to a private house, is mindful of the noise generated by motorcycles. Their menu includes dishes like garlic steak and hamburger, with the option of ordering their B set containing sirloin steak. However, some customers find the portion size to be too small and opt for rice instead. Interestingly, many patrons believe that the hamburger surpasses the steak in flavor and suggest trying their Ridersburg series, particularly their 300-320g patty burger.
I loved my creamy hamburger with shrimp. The fried shrimp on the spicy hamburger were amazing. I loved the salad and the rice was fresh.

One of our favorite place to eat late lunch at Nishi-Izu Town. Most places closes by 1 or 2pm but Don Marlin is open until dinner so it’s easy to go to. They serve mostly meat such as Steaks and Hamburg, but they also have Fish and Squid Steak on a hot plate. Today, my mom ordered a Japanese Style(Wa-fu) Hamburg set with Chinese Cabbage (Hakusai) Soup and Coffee for ¥1400, and I got a Japanese Style Hamburg (120g) + Steak (100g) with soup and coffee for ¥1750. 👍👍

Soba noodle shop
Yamasu, a soba noodle shop, offers a delectable three-colored tendon bowl with kakiage made of squid and small shrimp. The dish is accompanied by a generous serving of sweet rice bowl soup, providing a satisfying meal till the last bite. Despite lacking crispiness, the texture remains pleasant without being sticky. Yamasu's menu may be simple but it doesn't compromise on quality.
Very kind people and great tempura. The owner also gave us tips on what to see in town.

Perfect meal. Professional, delightful meal with tempura as good as anywhere - all the things food dreams are made off. A simple menu but no shortage of quality. I came back to see if this was as good as I remembered and I'll be back again.

(Translated by Google) This is an old-fashioned soba restaurant in a small port town. The restaurant is relatively small, with four table seats and one tatami room. I visited just around noon, so it was crowded and it took a while for the food to come out after ordering. This time I ordered the shrimp tempura soba set and the kakiage tempura soba set. Looking at other people's reviews, there are various reviews, but my personal opinion is that the soba was chewy and very delicious. Everything about the soba-yu was delicious, right down to the soup at the end. The tempura bowl looks like a crispy tempura bowl in the photo, but it was soft and fluffy with a sweet flavor. This is where tastes may be clearly divided. To be honest, I like crispy tempura bowls, so I was a little disappointed. However, the seasoning was to my liking and the rice was well soaked, so it was delicious. As much as I expected a crispy tempura bowl, I was personally disappointed in that, so the review rating was one star short. Regarding the price, I thought it was a reasonable price considering the volume and the atmosphere of the restaurant. The restaurant was run by an elderly couple, so don't expect the speed and perfect customer service you would expect from a city restaurant. I visited during the peak lunch hour, so the atmosphere was hectic, but when I left the store, I was greeted with a pleasant smile and a pleasant greeting. Next time, I would like to take advantage of the free time and visit you again.

Since I visited before 2pm, the atmosphere inside the restaurant was calm and the service was surprisingly smooth. The tempura bowl has 5 different toppings and the perfect amount of rice. The balance between the crispy batter and the sauce was perfect and it was very delicious! What impressed me most was the warm customer service from the staff. It was a cozy, old-fashioned restaurant that was no wonder why locals continue to frequent it. There is also a parking lot within a 1-2 minute walk, making it easy to access! This is one place I would like to visit again. (Translated by Google) Visited when I went on a trip to Matsuzaki Town, Nishiizu. Let's go to "Yamasu", which is located in Tago Port near Matsuzaki Town and is popular with locals! Today, the second day of my trip, I visited after eating Tarafuku breakfast at the hotel, but I really wanted to go there, so I went there. This area was the setting for the movie "Tsuribaka Nisshi 3", and there is a photo of Toshiyuki Nishida eating soba noodles inside the store. Apparently, the guesthouse across the street from Yamasu was used as a waiting area for the actors and staff, and they came here many times. It seems that Tatsuo Umemiya often visited the store, and his photo was also displayed. After all, this area is a fishing mecca and you can catch a lot of fish. I didn't bring my rod today, so I decided to eat quietly. I ordered "Kakiage Soba" which everyone seems to be ordering. My partner was cold so I ordered ``Curry Soba''. Wow, the kakiage is huge! ️And it's packed full of shrimp and squid, making it very filling. Best of all, it's airy and light without being greasy. This is the kind of kakiage that you can eat as much as you want. The soup was not too salty and the soup stock was very effective and it was very delicious. The curry soba was also delicious, with the combination of the Japanese-style soup stock and the spiciness of the curry, which permeated my chilled body in the winter cold. Both were delicious soba noodles with slightly thicker noodles and a rich aroma and firm texture. Please stop by when you go to Nishiizu! (Translated by Google) “Yamasu” by Takko Nishiizu I ordered a set of katsudon and soba noodles. Although it is a simple cutlet bowl, the soup stock has a strong flavor and is not too strong, making it easy to eat. The soba noodles are chewy, and the aroma of the soba soup and bonito stock whets the appetite. A slice of yuzu is added to the soba-yu. It becomes a nice accent and you can drink it to the last drop. It's worth going if you go to Nishiizu!
