Shopping mall
Palembang Square, also known as PS or Palembang Village, is a modern mall located strategically on Jalan R. Sukamto in Palembang. Acquired by the LIPPO Group in 2011, this bustling shopping center offers a wide array of fashion and electronics stores, fast food outlets, supermarkets, a cinema, and an amusement center. The mall's spacious open area and contemporary design make it stand out.
This mall is one of the best mall in its time...during long time, this mall seem uncleen due to efficiency of mount of employee, has difficult enough to park your vehicle, .but over all, its okey.

nice mall with new extention area, parking bit difficult during weekend. praying room need a bigger rooms and easy to access for all age ranges people. free parking for every customer which already spent more than 500K rupiah.
Abi A — Google review
Mall should be a place where you can enjoy food, fashion, electronics etc, nevertheless this mall seems to forget its function to provide those needs. Many stalls or stores are closed and the mall is super quiet. I hope that they have a plan to improve or upgrade the mall.
Stevent F — Google review
Nice place to shop around as we can find many stuffs that we need. This mall also provides a lot of restaurants with different kinds of meals at affordable prices. Worth to shop and dine in here.
Yovitha M — Google review
Ultra crowded during holidays. It's basically an ITC that was semi polished.
Rinny W — Google review
Family styled mall with moderate class brands. The toilets were inadequate to provide hygiene sanitary stuff. Better don't visit in lunch or Saturday night, it would be super crowded.
Angga F — Google review
Great place to buy varies of stuffs, food & beverages/drinks n services...
Josie A — Google review
This mall is too crowded right now. The traffic outside the area is also hectic. Other than that, it is actually a nice place to visit and to go shopping because it serves you many choices of different merchants. But the toilet is not clean and the escalator sometimes is not functioning, probably due to too many people are using it.

It's a good place for jogging. It's a 800m jogging track. But no regulation about the parking fee.

Relaxing place for local people. Nice place to hang out and go round with family and friends. It's good place to excercise, jogging, or just relaxing and fun.. On saturday and monday morning, this park so crowded, more people, more food stall compared to weekdays.. You can join aerobic classes on sunday in the early morning. A lot of garbages are left everywhere in the park and it makes the environment pretty bad.. I wish more people aware of the situation and lets keep the park clean..
Shanti S — Google review
It's not bad for a public park.. with an ordinary fish pond.. It's a place where you can gather with families or friends on weekends.. especially on Sunday mornings.. Doing exercise is absolutely usual you can do; such as jogging, dancing, walking.. etc. We can buy affordable things there.. like foods, beverages, clothes, and even accessories.. We can also meet certain animal lover communities.. 😊💓💗

Kuto Besak Fortress, also known as Benteng Kuto Besak or the Great Fort, is a historical site located in Palembang, Indonesia. It was built during the 17th century and served as a defense post for the Palembang Darussalam Sultanate. The fortress overlooks the Musi River and features thick walls that are 10 meters high and 288.75 meters long.

One of the iconic heritage building in Palembang. Near Musi river, the location is strategic. Enjoy to take photograph here, with Ampera Bridge is for background. Nice !

Nothing much to do, a military institution is now occupy the fortress so im not sure if anyone can explore inside the fortress. Outside the fortress there is a small square which is serene enough to walk around, not enough light tho, its kinda dark. But walk further to the promenade in front of the fortress is a night market where bunch of locals hang around at night. Attraction and games for kids are everywhere, making this place full with families. Food vendors are here and there mostly selling same type of food, nasi goreng, mie goreng etc. Walk further you can see an area of the market specialized in tshirt souvenirs. On the promenade there is also several boats that serve as restaurants and another few smaller boats that offer you a ride along the river, they are also able to be rented to sail east to Kemaro Island but i dont know how much it will cost. When you are on the promenade make sure to enjoy the view of the great red Ampera Bridge..

Fort Kuto Besak was a great fort in side of Musi River at Palembang. At this place has a great view of Ampera Bridge, Musi River, and also lot of restaurants and cafe. There is also wide field for any activities such as ceremony, party, concert, and any public activities. The best time to come in at morning and afternoon to night to see beautiful lights and views around the river. Your visiting to Palembang was not complete if you're not coming to Auto Besak Fort and Ampera Bridge.

pizzanya mantuls👍👍👍👍 soft, tasty and affordable price
Farah K — Google review
If I have to resume the Panties Pizza in one word it will be: Minimalist. I didn't say I hate it, but I'll be overrated if given this above 3 stars. I was ordering a Tuna Maya pizza with extra cheese, a French fries, and a lemon tea (there's no size differentiation in here), the pizza was well cooked, though I can't really say what's the difference between the Tuna Maya and the tuna melt pizza from P*zza H*t. It's barely the same, aside of course, the way it served (they wrap the toppings inside the bread, served it in a cone-like shape, well, guess that's the reason on why they named it "panties"). The place is also minimalist in design. Clean, cozy, quite comfortable, they do separate the smoking and non smoking room - some people will do appreciated this. The staffs also friendly. The prices here are relatively lower than the competitor one. Will I come again? Well, to be honest, for the same price i've paid, there are better choices out there.

For the price of food is average but for the drink you'd better buy in hypermart or supermaret before. The place is cozy and the food is worth to taste.. and the waiter and waitress are friendly.

Chinese restaurant
Nestled in Bukit Kecil, Kota Palembang, Kedai Tiga Nyonya is a charming eatery that beautifully blends the culinary traditions of Indonesia, China, and the Netherlands. This beloved establishment has been serving up delightful rice and seafood dishes alongside hearty soups for years. The ambiance reflects a nostalgic vibe reminiscent of days gone by, making it an inviting spot to linger over your meal. With options for private dining or larger gatherings, it's perfect for any occasion.
The restaurant has a very unique atmosphere, very much traditional decorations consists of old radio, old sewing machine, old pictures hanging on the wall, and even colonial style floorings. Outside, you will find yourself surrounded by 20 meters high trees with fairly wide canopy and plus, they have parrots which will greet you. Foods are so-so, but rich in ingredients. With such atmosphere and location, it is quite surprising that the foods are not overly expensive

Reservasi untuk event disini, well-decorated room with peranakan melayu-chinese ornament, recommended for those looking for a place to host a small-intimate event or gatherings Parking ✓ other facilities such Mushola & Toilet ✓ Food served in buffet, consider delicious ✓

The place is quite big for me, good ornaments in there, but for regular guest there's no AC room. When I visited this place in the night, it feels so dim, maybe it's about the lighting (maybe it's their concept), and it makes the place become not comfy for me, so many disturbing mosquitoes. The food and the staffs there are good enough.

A Vintage restaurant, feels like home. Open space and VIP room are available. Food taste is good. Mediocre parking space and it's free :) there is space for live music, and it will be good to held a small to medium talk show event.

Seafood restaurant
River Side Restaurant is a must-visit dining spot in Palembang, situated along the banks of the Musi River, offering stunning views of the iconic Ampera Bridge. The restaurant provides an opportunity to savor delicious dishes while enjoying the picturesque scenery. Opt for a rooftop seat to relish the gentle breeze and admire the beautiful cityscape, especially during nighttime when the bridge lights up with a captivating display.
Best Sea Side restaurant in Palembang. This restaurant located near Ampera bridge. You can get view of both Belida statue and Ampera bridge at the same time. The view during the night is stunning. About the food, the offers seafood and fresh water fish. We ordered: - kakap fillet with sour and sweet sauce - crispy squid - salted egg shrimp The taste of their food is quite good. The price is quite expensive but worth for a stunning night view. This restaurant offer live music on their stage which will accompany your dinner. Parking space is huge, don’t worry you won’t ran out of parking space. If you are visitor in Palembang and looking for a good place for dinner, this restaurant is a must visit!

Food was okay. Some dishes were really good and some were just so so (their pindang was not up to my taste). We tried their chili salt tofu and it was nice since they used Japanese tofu. The quacker prawn and crispy calamari were great too. Some tables have direct view of the Ampera bridge, so make sure to get the best seat!
Aulia Q — Google review
The food is not tasty, but the environment is comfortable. Here you can clearly see the Ampera bridge and take nice photos. It is recommended arriving here around 5 pm. You can watch the beautiful view of change from day to night.
Nina L — Google review
This place is iconic for its scenic view. The food could be better. It okay only for me. The pictures shown in menu is different than what they serve physically. I’ve asked a local about it. He mentioned the food used to be better and it change when they change the chef. So I think the good review about this place was a past. Because I am slightly disappointed because it is not giving any wow factor in taste.
Yusnianti L — Google review
Fresh seafood with stunning view overlooking Musi river and the majestic Ampera bridge. Dinner would be preferred as compared to lunch time due to the cool breeze blows as we enjoyed our dinner price-wise not too costly and tastes as fresh as it gets.
Bima R — Google review
This resto is serve mostly seafood and pindang, and all the seafoods are fresh. You should try its kepiting with roti, very nice taste and acommpany with Jembatan Ampera view. Better you come dinner when all the light in jembatan ampera looks very beautiful. The resto is quote cozy too and the staffs are friendly. All the foods quite expensive but its worth it with view. You can enjoy your food at ship too.

This seefood restaurant suitable for family gathering, big dining hall. Wide variety of dishes. Taste and price were average , but has nice few to the Ampera Bridge
Tactical N — Google review
Having dinner with family and relatives while gazing at the icon of the city of Palembang: Ampera Bridge is certainly an unforgettable experience (especially for residents outside South Sumatra). Visitors out of Palembang "must" visit this Musi riverside restaurant. One of the best spots to be take photograph of the Ampera Bridge and the Ikan Belida Monument in one frame. We ordered a variety of foods such as: - Kakap Saus Thailand - Kepiting Saus Tiram - Buncis Goreng Renyah Cabe Garam - Sop kepiting asparagus - Ayam Kalasan - Pindang Tulang The Kakap Thai Sauce is delicious. Snapper fillets are coated in flour and deep fried topping with a sour & spicy Thai sauce. Pleasant. The Kepiting Saus Tiram - my son's favorite (I didn't even taste it at all), didn't disappoint either. The crab meat is fresh and thick. The price is decent... worth the taste. Buncis Goreng Renyah Cabe Garama, one of our favourites. Crunchy and rich in flavour. The others, in my opinion, are just so-so.

Pempek restaurant
The culinary attraction in the city of Palembang, Pempek Saga Sudi Mampir, is a must-visit for those who come to Palembang to try the famous local dish, Pempek. Situated on Jalan Merdeka, 22 Ilir, Bukit Kecil, this restaurant also offers a popular menu item called Pempek Panggang.
Heard about pempek Saga from a colleague that this pempek is a legend one over generations. I tried pempek kulit and panggang and they are tasted authentic and good! I always looking for pempek with thick and spicy cuko and pempek Saga’s cuko met my criteria, spicy and thick, and ofc yumm!
Dewi P — Google review
To be honest, the taste is just okay compared to the chain stores like Pempek “Ijo” or Pempek “Kuning”. I tried the Pempek Lenggang Panggang, Pempek Bakar isi, and Lenjer Besar. The one that suited my taste buds the most was the large Lenjer, the rest I found to be not that great. Unlike other pempek shops, they don't provide bottled cuko on the table, so you have to ask for it separately when it runs out. The place is nice and comfortable, though
Jeje R — Google review
Great location, easily accessible, located in a main street just across the mayor's office building. Wasnt too crowded when I came for dinner. Food was great, i love it. The staff explained to me all those kind of pempek that im not aware of. Tried several dishes and it was all great. Beware if you're not really fond of spicy food. Price was also acceptable.

I found this place from many sources in internet that said highly recommended. But after tried it myself, its below my expectation. Dissapointed with the taste, still so many other pempek which better than this one.

For day 2, we recommend exploring the southeast side side of town. Start the day off with OPI Mall, then wind down and take it easy by the time you get to Gelora Sriwijaya Stadium. All together, your day would be filled with about 7 hours of non-stop fun.

OPI Mall in Palembang is a popular shopping destination located within the OPI Business Center. It offers a modern and comprehensive shopping experience with a wide range of retailers, casual eateries, an ice rink, playground, and cinema. Visitors can enjoy various dining options including a food court on the third floor and a mix of local and well-known franchise restaurants.
This mall is rather big with many places to entertain and educate children. A good food court and a movie theater on the top floor. Some local and famous franchise restaurants also here.
Suria N — Google review
The shopping mall is comprised of 3 storeys and offers an adequate selection of retails, F&B, a cinema, wax skating ring, trampoline park, and a basement hypermart. Medical supply is nowhere to be found. Visitors are few on weekdays and parking is aplenty. Place was barely maintained. The nearest LRT station connected to its main building is DJKA Station.

OPI Mall is a functional shopping center, but it tends to be very crowded especially on weekend. A noticeable issue is the lack of variety. The food options are quite limited, and the stores are also not very diverse.

For the mall in palembang, I will give the 5 stars one. They have lots of resto for foods, and also simple foodcourt in 3rd floor. Trans Mart, Matahari, Pojok Busana for shop till drops in Bumi Sriwijaya. They also have Little Town, the place that u can have good Instagram spot and drink or snacks. I think this is the only one mall in Palembang that have Ice Rink. And the best one, I got my childhood favorite bakery store named New Hollando Bakery (before named as Holland Bakery).

Gelora Sriwijaya Stadium, with a capacity for over 35,000 spectators, is a versatile venue that regularly hosts football matches and other sporting events. Currently closed to the public, it is undergoing preparations for the upcoming Asian Games on August 18th, 2018. Hopefully, in due time, these facilities will be accessible to everyone. Situated away from the city center, the stadium offers cleaner air and ample parking space.
The place is huge and wonderful. The facilities are not maintain very well. However this place was use last year for Asian Games. If you come here in the afternoon, many people come here for taking pictures and play ground for children.

It has various sports venue but unfortunately for now is not open for public yet because it is being prepared for upcoming one of the biggest sport events, Asian Games on August 18th, 2018. It is currently used mostly for football matches. The stadium holds 23,000 spectators. The construction began in 2001 and finished in 2004 to host the 2004 Indonesia National Games. Pagi Sore Restaurant is a laid-back dining spot located in Palembang, Sumatera Selatan. It offers a wide range of traditional Indonesian dishes and features a buffet option in a relaxed setting. Guests can enjoy their meals while being entertained by live music. The restaurant is known for its delicious food, excellent service, and strategic location. It's highly recommended for those looking to savor authentic nasi padang and experience the legendary culinary offerings of South Sumatera.
It’s a huge restaurant that serves legit Padang food. My family had a great time there, we ordered at least two dozen plates of food. The portion of food is small so we can try out different dishes. Great experience! The only drawback is that the price is slightly higher than expectation.

Shopping
Palembang Indah Mall is a relaxed and entertaining destination that features a variety of shops, a food court, an arcade, and a movie theater spread across four floors. The basement floor offers live music performances, multiple food stalls serving coffee-based beverages, and ample seating options. However, the parking area may be limited in size or busy during peak hours. Despite this challenge, the mall has made significant improvements with Le Garden food court now offering diverse tenants and a pleasant atmosphere.
Nice medium sized shopping mall. One thing caught my eye was so many Japanese restaurants. Very good. Eateries can be found at the basement and top floor as well. Good easy parking space.

Visited Masjid Agung Palembang (the Great Mosque of Palembang) on 16/Mar/2020, when I could not read/speak Indonesian at all.😅 The mosque is the largest mosque in Palembang, with area 15,400 square meter. Before Sultan Mahmud Badaruddin I Jayo Wikramo rebuilt this mosque in the 18th century, it was founded by Sultan Ki Gede Ing Suro in the 17th century. It is said that the mosque forms the original Malay and Arab villages for a long time in Palembang. I visited the mosque in early morning, the scene of the mosque at dawn was too impressive to be real. I didn’t enter the mosque because I was not sure whether I would be allowed or not, if there’s any opportunity to revisit Palembang, I will go inside to explore more.

If you are muslim, try to visit this mosque! It is located in downtown where you can hang around after praying here. The mosque facilities are not maintained well. It is quite difficult to find direction or information board. You need to put your slipper or flip-flop in front of the mosque and pay the locket short after your leaving. Quite clean, but still under renovation.

The Al Islam Muhammad Cheng Hoo Sriwijaya Palembang Mosque is a religious structure that displays a unique blend of architectural styles from various Asian cultures. The mosque features a striking green and red pagoda, which serves as an eye-catching centerpiece. Its design incorporates elements from different traditions, resulting in a stunning combination of influences like Chinese, Indian, and Islamic architecture.
Masjid Al Islam Muhammad Cheng Hoo Sriwijaya Palembang Proving that the culture of China and Islam are able to be melted one each other admirably. A bit hard to get to this place. Public transport is just over the main road, while the mosque is located in a residential area.

Going there was not very hard, there were signs everywhere to go there. The mosque really looks more like pagoda than a mosque. The influence of the Chinese culture is very strong here. Somehow it doesnt attract many tourists here as I didnt see so many people when I went there
Cinthya T — Google review
Masjid Cheng Hoo in Palembang has something in common with the Masjid Cheng Hoo in Surabaya, both of them are Chinese traditional architecture style. As a fan of Indonesia and Malaysia, I have been curious about how Islam was disseminated from the Arab World to the Malay Archipelago. Cheng Hoo (郑和) himself is a Muslim, I heard that in Southeast Asia, some Muslims believe that it is Cheng Hoo who brought Islam here. The pictures were taken in March 2020.

Pempek restaurant
Pempek & Es Kacang Vico, located near PIM Mal, is a renowned restaurant that specializes in pempek dishes. With a wide range of delectable options, this establishment has gained popularity among food enthusiasts. Packed with flavor and unique textures, their pempek creations satisfy even the most discerning palates. Additionally, their menu includes refreshing es kacang, a delightful Indonesian shaved ice dessert topped with various condiments.
Delicious pempek, heard from many that it was the best in the city. We first came an evening around 7:30 and they were full *and* sold out — a great sign. Came back the next evening, and it was worth the wait. Cuko is perfectly balanced, pempek have taste and texture right. Es kacang merah is also great.

Mohamad R — Google review
I ordered Tekwan and a Pempek Telor via ojol. The Tekwan was really delicious. It had a wonderful aroma and the flavors of fish and shrimp were very pronounced. The Pempek was also tasty. Highly recommended!
Jeje R — Google review
Pempek Vico is truly a standout when it comes to experiencing the legendary dish of Palembang. What sets them apart immediately is the noticeable quality of their ingredients. You can taste the freshness and premium nature of the ikan tenggiri (Spanish mackerel) in every bite. The texture is just right, and the flavor is clean and authentic. While the prices might be a little higher compared to other places, it's clear that you're paying for a superior product. Beyond the excellent pempek itself, the cuko (vinegar-based sauce) at Pempek Vico deserves special mention. It has a really nice kick of spice that isn't overpowering, but leaves a wonderful savory sensation lingering on your palate. It complements the richness of the pempek perfectly, creating a balanced and satisfying culinary experience. You can tell they've put thought into crafting a truly delicious cuko. To complete your meal at Pempek Vico, make sure you don't skip their es kacang merah (red bean shaved ice). It's the perfect sweet and refreshing counterpoint to the savory pempek and spicy cuko. The red beans themselves are clearly of high quality, with a satisfyingly chewy texture and a lovely natural sweetness. It's a fantastic way to end your Palembang food adventure. If you're in town, Pempek Vico is a must-visit!

Had dinner here and tried various items from the menu, including nasi minyak and martabak. The curry for martabak wasn't flavorful enough for me, but the nasi minyak was decent. Service is excellent, like any other Japanese restaurants. Food is prepared beautifully, tastes excellent. But i may be biased since i'm always a fan of Sushi Tei 😁 The price rate is quite high but for me it's worth it, especially when u're into sashimi.

I stopped coming here several years ago because I didn't fancy the taste anymore. But yesterday I had lunch here with my best friends and viola! They've tasted better! With new menus and much more varieties. But the service is not as excellent as before. I guess I'll become a regular here once more.

Sushi Tei restaurant is one of the most common sushi franchise in Indonesia. They have restaurants in various cites in Indonesia such as Palembang, Jakarta, Denpasar, etc.. This is a good sushi restaurant. Always crowded when the peak time.. But, sometimes the restaurant is full booked. So make a reservation first if you want to try this without taking much time queuing.. The restaurant provide good quality japanese food including sushi, ramen, salad and shomen (cold noodles).. Sushi Tei is not original sushi, the taste had been adjusted for Indonesian's public consumption.. The place is so popular because of its great taste. You maybe pay more expensive than another sushi place but the price worth it.. The Sushi was very good and fresh, but barely available at the sushi circle so you must order from the menu.. My favorite was Crunchy lobster roll, Jumbo dragon roll, yakiniku salad and chuka Iikado..

This place is a good place to hangout with family, friends, relatives and others. Nice and fresh food are provided by this store. With 4 till 5stars price (it depends on your funds btw), but it worth. So come over and enjoy your meal.
Sahal S — Google review
They have a very good service and comfortable place.. but the price is quite expensive. And for the taste I think it is not match with my tounge but the sushi is ok. For the mentai is really good.
Noviliana R — Google review
In comparison to Sushi Hiro, this one is cheaper - but you get what you pay for. The sushi is of notable lower quality and not very fresh, the service more chaotic than in most other restaurants in Palembang (forgotten order, tea refill takes very long, waiter runs away mid sentence to the next table, no cutlery for guests that joined our table etc.). I don't blame the waiters, I blame their manager - you didn't assign enough people today. House looks nice from outside, but inside just ok, and quite noisy.

Bayt Al-Qur'an Palembang is a grand and opulent establishment that displays the Koran on enormous tablets with inscriptions. The interior of the building is impressive, with unique souvenirs from Palembang available for purchase. While the exterior may be plain and lacking in proper parking facilities, it still holds the MURI record for being the largest carving of Al-Quran in existence.
Alhamdulillah, lightened to see Holy Quran with different forms (art).

Nice place to visit if you want a religion tours in palembang, unfortunately access to the site still not good and bumpy in some area... Need attention from local government to support access and building of this museum to be better. Overall the service of the staff very good, they offer us a complete guidance as long as tour without a request precedingly. They also help us to take several photos with the beautiful Quran background

The place was amazing! Although the outside, parking spot and front yard is kinda plain and not so good, it's so big and beautiful in the inside. The main room was so satisfying, and unique souveniers from Palembang are sold there. Still, the parking spot was rough and full of rocks without asphalt. But we're so impressed about the place and hope we can visit there again soon.

It was a great moment at House of Quran Palembang, the biggest Quran in the world carved on the wood. The entrance ticket is only 20K. Do not forget wear long pants and take your shoes off. Enjoy!

This moment was my lucky could to visit this place. Amazing area with the giant Alquran. We can read Alquran live without open Alquran book like usually we read. I read Alquran around 5 area with the giant Alquran made of wood . Very excited and most lovely. This area is located in Landus, Palembang, this Bayt Al Quran al Akbar is the largest Al Quran museum. The Indonesian Record Museum (MURI), has named this giant Alquran to be the largest and heaviest in the world. Inside are sheets of the Alquran carved on wooden boards. The size is very large. The Alquran as a whole amounted to 30 Juz consisting of 5 floors. It reaches 15 meters high by 8 meters wide. No wonder it's called the biggest Quran in the world. Wow amazing .. You can buy any souvenirs like peci, sarung etc Maybe this can alternative choice as Islamic travelling. But management is not professional yet..I hope regional government can manage this spot more professional
Ade M — Google review
Basically, it is a Pesantren (Islamic Boarding School). So mind your clothes when visited. So far, it had been told as the biggest carving of Al-Quran in the world of the MURI version.

Spectacular holy quran writing in wooden carving. The place is good site visit for muslim. Unfortunately the mushola/ small mosque is enderated and dirty. Hopefully the organizer will fix the building really soon, so that we can pray comfortably

Excellent works of wooden-carved Holy Qur'an. But they need more space as not all verses of the Qur'an could be displayed.

History Museums
The Balaputradewa Museum in Palembang is a treasure trove of regional history, culture, and art. Housed in a high-ceilinged building with gilded accents, the museum offers an immersive journey through Palembang's rich heritage. Visitors can explore artifacts dating back to the megalithic era of Pagaralam and delve into the fascinating history of Sriwijaya, a powerful maritime empire that thrived for nearly 600 years.
Was a Palembang Mitsuri agenda here. The museum is nice, there are 2 places indoors and outdoors for the artifacts. For the event is great, that was my first anime concert and also my first nusic concert.
Hafiz K — Google review
The museum had a lot of beautiful collection from megalithic era to the time of Srivijayan Empire. The stone carving is just mesmerizing, I love spending time here watching the display, it is really an incredible piece of history. Some stone carvings date as early as 1st century. There are some rooms that fills with collection of i dont know what because i came on Monday and they were closed. They also have 2 traditional wooden houses installed at this museum. One is "rumah limas", which said to belong to one of the descendant of an arabic sultan, you can see how well off they lived with all the beautiful things inside the house. The other one is "rumah ulu" which is a very simple wooden house used by traveler or trader a long time ago as a transit house or some sort of accomodation. Both are very unique and interesting to see. Unfortunately the display were lack of information, the panel on each artifacts tell us a very limited information. It just feels like a brief introduction. It is also such a pity that the museum building is decaying, its old and starting to show the effect of undermaintenance. I wish whoever in charge of this place can start renovating the building soon. The museum is closed on Mondays so be sure to check the day before you visit.

Very good collection of historical artifacts. The museum atmosphere is old. Some room has no AC. Some part of the building is not well maintained/repaired. Very attractive for public & school trip

If you do love history to explore more on your travel. This museum is recommended to visit, some exhibition rooms was under construction tho on my last visit. Generally.. it offers you great experiences of getting to know more of Palembang history..

our goverment should pay more attention and care for cultural and historical places. This place needs a major fresh air. Fortunately when I went here the rumah limas is open for public and we can enter it. We can also learn more about palembanv history from dutch and japanese era to sriwijaya kingdom remains. It's very cheap for the admission fee, only 2000 rupiah
Deo G — Google review
This museum offers you a good source of information regarding to the history of the sumatra from the old stoneage to the recent time... The collections are well prepared and the information provided is relevant and informative to the general public. Many collections came from the times of the kingdom of sriwijaya and the melayu. The museum building need some renovations though. The location is within minutes from the city centre and it also easily accessed for those need a short stopover before going to the airport. This museum is a must to visit when you are in palembang.

The museum that you must come when you visit palembang. Not many people come here. The museum it self has been there for 35 years. The have many collection from 16 century. They have a tour guide who could explains everything. The museum has a real stage house from 18 century. The parking lot is not to big.

I like Limas house in this museum. But too bad the house need some maintenance in the roof. It has many water leak when raining. For the other galleries, its too dark, and the air conditioner is not cold. No employee inside the galleries to ask about anything.

Specialty Museums
Immerse yourself in the rich tapestry of Palembang's history at the Sultan Mahmud Badaruddin II Museum. This cultural gem, set within a charming colonial-era structure, invites visitors to explore an extensive array of artifacts that narrate the city's journey from ancient times to modernity. The museum features archaeological treasures, traditional textiles, and ancient manuscripts that highlight Palembang's vibrant maritime trade and indigenous cultures.
Located on the riverbank of the Musi, the museum exhibits various collections ranging from archeology, ethnography, biology, arts and especially numismatics, the study or collection of currencies. Here, you can find many historical remnants from photo collections of the Kedukan Bukit inscriptions, ancient statues of Buddha and the Ganesha Amarawati, as well as various other remnants including those from the Sriwijaya era. Originally called the Keraton Kuto Kecik or Keraton Kuto Lamo, this building along with the Palembang Grand Mosque was built during the era of Sultan Mahmud Badaruddin Jayo Wikramo. Distinct from other buildings of the same era that mainly uses woods, the palace was built with bricks. On 1842 the building was completed and was locally popular as the snail house (Rumah Siput). As a site that was involved in so many historical events, the Sultan Mahmud Badaruddin II Museum is a display that elaborates various eras in history. As day turns into night, prep your camera to face the overall front view of the museum and wait for all lights to shine. When it does, check your camera’s LCDs and see what splendor you’ve captured. Museum Sultan Mahmud Badaruddin II is a perfect place to explore the history of Palembang. The architecture itself is unique as it is a combination of Dutch colonial and native Palembang Palace style.

Missed a chance to visit this museum during my stay at Palembang as I have a tight schedule to be attended to. Will surely come and pay a visit to this place if I happens to visit Palembang next time. Just managed to snap a few pictures of nearby Palembang's prominent tourist attractions such as The Masjid Agung, Monpera and the historical Ampera Bridge. Learn a few words from the locals " Orang Kito Galo - We are all locals here".

if you are in palembang, you should visit here to know its history, and another interesting thing from here is, if you take a photo in the aisle, for you who not married yet will get her/his soul mate. Who knows? Let's try and see for your self 😅 #LetsGuide

The museum is located not far from the Ampera Bridge, an icon from the city of Palembang. We can learn about the history of Sultan Mahmud Badarudin's struggle against the invaders. Make sure your trip is a package to visit the Ampera bridge and this museum, as you only have to walk from the location of the bridge to the museum. Many historical values are displayed in this museum, as one way for us to commemorate the services of heroes.

Palembang Bird Park is a family-friendly destination where kids can interact with various bird species like parrots, peacocks, and owls. The park offers play areas and green spaces for family picnics. It also hosts educational sessions and bird shows for children to learn about these winged creatures. Situated near OPI Waterpark, the park provides an open zoo experience with birds, turtles, fish, rabbits, and iguanas.
Many birds here, you can give bird food by own hand Tips : -Dont go here while public holiday because its to crowded and the birds dont hungry because every one gives food so the birds become lazy -Dont go in mid afternoon because it is sooo hooottt -Bring backup T-shirt (just in case bird feses drop on ur clothes) -Entry pass costs 50.000 IDR

Nice place to educate your children, but please for the owner of this park, pay attention to the toilet it's so dirty. It's really not worth it when the visitor pay 50k for that bad facilities.. And some animal looks starving.

This place is located not too far from central city. There are not only birds but also snake, iguanas, cats, rabbits, etc. The services are good. There are guides in every corner and they used to offering help to take picture of yours or assisting you to feed the animals. The cleanliness is good enough - as a place that has many animals.
Mutiara S — Google review
The place is pretty clean but way too small for such a lot of animals. Some animals were okay, but some, like the wallabies and owls, had less-than-good living spaces.

If you're looking for a unique dining experience, Warung Terapung Mbok War is the perfect spot to indulge in delicious pindang while enjoying the gentle sway of a floating restaurant. This charming eatery, crafted from wood and situated along the banks of the Musi River, offers not just mouthwatering local dishes but also stunning views of the iconic Ampera Bridge. As you savor your meal on this boat-like structure, you'll be immersed in Palembang's vibrant culinary scene.
You can tell their fish is super fresh. It’s tender and tasty. People here are nice as well. This food stall is in a floating boat, can see the landmark Ampera Bridge from the second floor!
大可劉 — Google review
Floating food stalls on the Musi riverside is one of the unique tourist icons in Palembang. Located on the western bank of the river, under the Ampera bridge, these floating food stalls are made initially on a boat platform, similar to the boat used to cross the Musi river. The boat was later modified into a floating restaurant, complete with a kitchen and food storefront, similar to food stalls on land. So, visitors can feel as if they are eating in a boat, with the sensation of swaying from the waves of the Musi river. Floating stalls here generally serve a menu of fish, whether it's pindang cooked fish, fried fish, or grilled fish. One of the popular stalls is Mbok Sri red stall. This stall is open at 7.00 a.m to 3:00 p.m. This stall is usually very crowded and full of visitors during lunch hours. The pindang or broiled cooked patin fish (Pangasius sp.) served here tastes good, a combination of soft patin fish meat, with a strong spicy sour sauce. The taste of the grilled nila fish (tilapia) is not too rich in seasoning, it provides a natural taste of fish, but it is served with a chili sauce that tastes good. Eat while enjoying the hustle and bustle of life on the Musi river, this is truly exotic.

(Translated by Google) If you go to Palembang, you have to try eating here.... You get an interesting view, because you can see the Ampera Bridge clearly. Not to mention the sensation of rocking when a speed boat passes by. You can know and see at close range when a barge passes by. Just choose the table above if it's empty, it's more interesting. The taste of the food is authentic. The pindang is delicious! Grilled fish is also delicious. Don't skip the mango sauce. Oh, it's all delicious. Lalap with boiled round eggplant is also really delicious. Don't worry about the price... God willing, it's safe. 1 Pindang catfish head 1 small grilled gourami 1 Fried chicken 5 White rice 1 Orange Ice IDR 80k Good, nice and friendly service. Highly recommend eating here... Harga gak usah takut, deh... insyaaAllah aman. 1 Pindang kepala patin 1 Gurame bakar ukuran kecil 1 Ayam goreng 5 Nasi putih 1 Es jeruk IDR 80k Pelayanan baik, bagus, dan ramah. If you want a cool atmosphere, check the weather, it's perfect for eating there… the price is cheap for such an expensive view 😍 (Original) Experience makan makanan khas palembang diatas kapal yang goyang”… sedep deh! For a city center location with an iconic view, delicious taste, the prices are cheap beyond reason: pindang head catfish 20 thousand, grilled tilapia 35 thousand, a plate of seluang 20 thousand. So if you go to Ampera, recommend eating here. The bonus sensation of eating is that it sways a bit when the speed boat passes by. (Translated by Google) Payment can be made using QRIS, the pindang patin is not soft enough but because the location is comfortable with the atmosphere of the Musi river and the Ampera bridge being very good so you can still enjoy it. For tourists who are trying a floating boat for the first time, the access road to the boat is along the market and you can't get out of the car straight away, which is not suitable if the weather is rainy.

Water & Amusement Parks
OPI Water Fun is a popular water-themed recreational zone in Palembang City, covering 3 hectares at the heart of the city. It offers exciting rides, fun water activities for all ages, and vibrant parks to explore. Even if swimming isn't your thing, you can still have a great time with your family here. The park provides various water slides, wave pools, and interactive water play areas suitable for kids and adults alike.
Large enough to put 100 people together... various water rides and deep pool with fair water quality.
Omar A — Google review
Water fun with different options for kids. High Slide arena requires bit maintenance as slides have some breakages and paint-removed patches. Overall good experience👍
Asad U — Google review
Very cheap entrance fee but don't put very high expectations. However kids still enjoy playing there.
Abdul S — Google review
One of the biggest waterboom in palembang, pretty cheap, good place with big parking lot. Foodcourt inside with good price. But the water quality is not good, too much chlorine added.
Hermansyah M — Google review
good for family vacations..the swimming pool is standard..clean enough
Wilaga D — Google review
The front staffs should have more cheerful to the customers. The way they served us shouldnt trigger us especially for those that checking our bag and stamp our hand. Mbok yo senyum
Sleai N — Google review
Long queue in foodcourt only served by one cashier. Dear management, please add one or two more..

I want to thank this place and the owner for their generosity by taking more than 200 orphanges every year to have fun here. The pH level never below or up by 7. Clean. The staffs are helpful. The food and drink are good. The price Is affordable. Great place for a cozy family time. Have fun!

The residence of a merchant called Ong Boen Tjit is situated in the lane of Merchant Yucing, sub-district 3-4 Ulu Palembang. The dwelling, which has been in existence since the 17th century, can be found on the edge of the Musi River. Consequently, it can be accessed via the river path while enjoying aquatic sightseeing.

(Translated by Google) One of the historical tourist destinations in the city of Palembang, which is managed personally by the owner. This historic house, which is more than 100 years old, has a mix of Chinese, Malay & Javanese ethnic nuances, located on the coast of the Musi River, provides its own story for visitors. To be able to visit here, we can go by river using a ketek boat (5K) or we can also go by land (alley merchant yucing). This place also provides homestay facilities for visitors (you can contact the owner directly) The house & yard are quite spacious, therefore this place can also be used for various social/community activities. (Translated by Google) I deliberately came all the way to visit even though on Thursday, July 3, 2025, it was still 5 pm using a boat but the pier gate was locked, I had been helped by the man who drove the boat shouting so that someone would hear to open the iron gate, there were many people there but they were indifferent. It was useless, no one opened it. It's not a problem that the boat is expensive because it's the boat man's fortune, but if it's closed, maybe you can provide information or don't write it open 🤦‍♂️, because we don't waste special time riding a boat just to see from afar because the iron gate is locked and no one opens it 🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️ (Original) Sengaja jauh2 mau berkunjung padahal di hari kamis 3 juli 2025 jam masih jam 5 sore pakai boat tapi gerbang dermaga di gembok, sudah dibantu sama bpk yg bawa boat teriak2 supaya ada yg denger agar dibuka pintu gerbang besi nya banyak orang disana tapi pada cuek2 .

(Translated by Google) You could say this is a hidden gem for tourist attractions in Palembang because the location is quite difficult to reach (you have to walk and walk along the stilt houses on the edge of the Musi River). Because of its location, this place is only known among the local community and it is quite rare for guests from outside the area to know and come here. This place is actually a home for Peranakan residents whose authenticity is still quite well maintained and is not really a tourist spot that was specially built/renovated, so when we came here it was as if we were visiting a relative's house and we were greeted very warmly by the house's mother even though At the same time, the house is used by other communities for their activities (apparently for women's social gatherings). When we arrived, the house's mother told us a little about the building and the family who supposedly came to Palembang in the 18th century. It's quite unique, unfortunately it seems like it hasn't been empowered and promoted enough by the local government. There are actually no entrance tickets, but in general visitors donate IDR 10,000 per person in the box provided next to the guest book.

Palembang is one of the best tourist destinations in Sumatra Island. The city offers many tourist attractions for everyone. For those who love history, there is Monpera. It is actually a monument of people’s struggle. It was built to commemorate the struggle of local people against the Dutch. The monument is located adjacent to the Great Mosque of Palembang. It has a unique characteristic, as well..

If you find yourself in Palembang, a visit to Mie Terang Bulan is an absolute must! This iconic noodle house is renowned for its three signature dishes: wonton noodles, stir-fried noodles, and fried wontons. Locals swear by these delectable meals, which are often sold out quickly due to their popularity. You can conveniently place your order via Instagram or by visiting the restaurant directly.
They sold out really fast!!! I am the lucky one to get the last plate and a portion of their dumpling. So yum! I also really love their chili which gives fresh and delicious taste to the noodles. Don’t forget their yummy soup as well!!
Joanika J — Google review
The legendary bakmi restaurant. Not because of the noodle, but because of the service. They never smile, don’t care about you, a bit chaotic, and you need to wait a long time for your noodle. But that was the charm, the experience that mie terang bulan offered to you. Noodle was pretty good though. And the pangsit goreng was good too.
Hungry T — Google review
The legend of Palembang noodle started here, you’re not considered as in Palembang if you haven’t try this noodle house! They only have 3 most popular meals in the menu: the wonton noodle, the stir fried noodle and the fried wonton. Those 3 are the best meal ever! They offer more options to order these days, you can order through IG @mieterangbulanpalembang or you can call or come directly to order. Whichever most convenient for you, as long as the noodles are served!
