Pasar Payang, also known as Pasar Besar Kedai Payang, is a bustling central market located on the banks of the Terengganu River in Kuala Terengganu. This indoor market offers a modern shopping experience and features a wide range of traditional handicrafts such as batik cloth, silk products, gold brocade, and brassware. Visitors can also find fresh agricultural products and local delicacies like chips, pottery, and salted fish.
One of the must when in Terengganu. You can get fresh local produce, kerepok lekor, snacks, vegetable and so on. Nice to stroll around and get the local vibes.

Well done! More than 20 years ago I frequently went here with my parents. Now, I travelled again with my friends. I'm very satisfied with the building conditions, ventilation, accessibility, facilities and everything. The toilet was clean and thumbs up for the escalator. Adapt to the changes. Modernise but keep the old way. Way too good compared to Pasar Siti Khadijah..I can say, old and resistance to change.
B_ F — Google review
There are 2 buildings i.e. the one with 2 floors selling clothes, gold, and souvenirs. Quite a number of shops. The one with just one floor is selling fruits and snacks. Behind the markets, you may see the river and recreation park. Quite nice area.
Maliah S — Google review
Beautiful new Pasar Kedai Payang, which is located opposite the original Pasar Payang. Pasar Kedai Payang 1 - bazaar for clothing, toys, goldsmith and sourvenirs. Pasar Kedai Payang 2 - wet and dry market and food court. You can walk from one building to another. Will take only 1-2 mins.
Lil T — Google review
So huge. Here can get all type of batik fashion and all kind of local souvenirs. Parking bit difficult to get.
JYH — Google review
A local destination involving mainly traditional ladies fashion and clothing material market, soft toys in the shops area (Kedai), the dry market area; and the fresh food area which mainly revolves around Keropok Gemuk, a local variety of fried or sometimes steamed versions of mixed fish paste.
Jason K — Google review
quite a hot area. multi-storey parking but the gate is always a problem. there are a lot of interesting clothes in here and the prices are reasonable

A must visit if you're in Kuala Terengganu. Great place for people who loves shopping local products and also for photography. Parking is a bit busy on weekends tho.

Masjid Abidin, also known as Masjid Negeri Terengganu, is a fascinating and spacious mosque with a rich history and intricate design. Located by the riverfront in Kuala Terengganu, it offers a peaceful and welcoming atmosphere for worship and prayer. The mosque's historical significance and traditional Terengganu architecture make it a popular attraction for both tourists and locals. Visitors appreciate the well-maintained amenities, including an information corner providing insights into Islam.
Beautiful Masjid. We did Iftar there, it was very nice. People are kind and welcoming. The wibes of this state is so good and Muslims culture is rich here. Love to experience this Beautiful Masjid.
Faria S — Google review
Came here for Subuh prayers. The recitation of the surah by the Imam is smooth and rustling. The mosque is clean and well maintained. May Allah bless all who helped maintain the mosque, and also bless all who perform prayers here. Abidin Mosque is one of the oldest mosques in Terengganu, located in the center of Kuala Terengganu. Originally constructed in 1793 during the reign of Sultan Zainal Abidin II, the mosque has undergone numerous renovations over the years, including major expansions in 1852, 1901, 1972, and 2006. Initially built using chengal timber in a traditional Terengganu house style, it was later rebuilt with red bricks, added domes, and a three-story tower. The mosque features a blend of Terengganu traditional, Islamic, and colonial architectural influences. With a capacity for 2,500 worshippers, it serves as a significant religious and cultural center in the region and is a popular tourist attraction.

Masjid Abidin, also known as Masjid Negeri Terengganu, is a prominent and historic mosque located in Kuala Terengganu, Malaysia. This mosque is one of the oldest in the region, with its origins dating back to the early 19th century during the reign of Sultan Zainal Abidin II, after whom the mosque is named. The mosque has undergone several renovations and expansions over the years, evolving from a simple wooden structure into the grand, modern edifice that stands today. Architecturally, Masjid Abidin is a beautiful blend of traditional Malay and Islamic design elements, with a touch of modernity that makes it a significant landmark in Terengganu. The mosque is adorned with intricate carvings and calligraphy, particularly on its minbar (pulpit) and mihrab (prayer niche), which reflect the rich Islamic heritage of the region. The whitewashed walls and domes give it a serene and majestic appearance, while the tall minarets stand as a symbol of faith, visible from various points across the city. Inside, the mosque offers a spacious prayer hall that can accommodate a large congregation, especially during Friday prayers and Islamic festivals. The hall is well-ventilated and illuminated, providing a peaceful atmosphere for worship. The mosque also features a well-maintained courtyard and gardens, which enhance its tranquil setting. Masjid Abidin is not only a place of worship but also a center for Islamic learning and community activities. It hosts various religious classes, lectures, and events that cater to the spiritual and educational needs of the local Muslim community. The mosque’s administration is active in organizing charity drives, particularly during the holy month of Ramadan, which further strengthens its role as a pillar of the community. Visitors to Masjid Abidin often remark on its peaceful ambiance and the sense of history that pervades the site. Whether one is a devout Muslim attending prayers or a tourist interested in Islamic architecture and culture, Masjid Abidin offers a meaningful and enriching experience. Its significance goes beyond its physical structure, representing the enduring faith and cultural identity of the people of Terengganu.

Among the historic mosques still intact in the middle of the city, this makes it one of the most beautiful personal experiences when stopping by to fulfill one's responsibilities as a Muslim. Feel calm when you are in this Mosque. A very spacious prayer room, an attractive and clean ablution place. Beautifully designed buildings and colors make you feel comfortable and happy. Maybe need a little more level of parking area for 4 or more wheeled vehicles. Thank you for taking care of it
射线Mr R — Google review
It is one of the oldest mosques in Malaysia and is still in daily use. The mosque was constructed in 1793 and completed in 1808, according to Wikipedia. A peaceful and calm place between prayers. The unique exterior design is recognisable as being of traditional Terengganu architecture. Another unique feature of the mosque is the all-encompassing white exterior, including the minaret and domes. The interior is classic old Terengganu. The numerous massive columns supporting the roof structure seem like overkill. However, it lends a distinctive character to old Terengganu public structures.

Bridge
The Jambatan Angkat Kuala Terengganu, also known as the Kuala Terengganu Drawbridge, is a remarkable structure that spans the mouth of the Terengganu River. Inspired by London's Tower Bridge, it holds the distinction of being Malaysia and Southeast Asia's first drawbridge. Its striking design has made it a popular tourist attraction and an iconic spot for Instagram-worthy photos.
One of the most iconic landmarks in Terengganu! The drawbridge offers a breathtaking view, especially during sunset, perfect for photos and relaxing moments by the river. The unique architecture blends modernity with local culture. It’s also a cool spot for boat rides where you can catch different angles of the bridge. A must-visit for anyone in Kuala Terengganu.truly a gem of the East Coast!

Well designed and managed. The viewing deck opens to visitors starting from 10am. A restaurant at the base of the pier opens at 12noon. Nice views from every direction.

Only accepting payment by cash. Had lengthy discussion with staff on where to get cash locally and said we'd be back in the morning before driving out. It would have been helpful if they had mentioned that they were not open until after lunch!!!!

Lovely sunset view here. This is my second visit here, first in 2020, the bridge has more colours at night in comparison in 2024. There is a food stalls nearby which was not present in 2020. I feel that not much can be done here despite it was one of the main attraction in Kuala Terengganu, still, great view during sunset 🤩

Shahbandar Jetty

4.2
(2319)
Shahbandar Jetty in Kuala Terengganu is a popular departure point for ferries to Redang Island, offering stunning views of the iconic Kuala Terengganu Lift Bridge. While most resorts on Redang Island provide their own ferry transfers, the public ferry from Shahbandar Jetty is available for individual travelers at a cost. The jetty provides ample parking space at a daily rate and offers comfortable seating while waiting for departures.
Specifically came to this place for night photography of Jambatan Angkat Kuala Terengganu (Kuala Terengganu Drawbridge). Great angle of bridge view. Multiple colourful light display. There was limited parking space at the time I arrived at 9pm on a Saturday. A few colourful trishaws available for a ride around the jetty and park. Reasonably quiet on the jetty walkway as most people are dining at nearby stalls or just sitting around the park.
WSL — Google review
What can I say.....this place is one of the places that you should drop by whenever you are in Kuala Terengganu. The MERE view is TREMENDOUSLY AWESOME! The sight or view from here is so breath-taking. Do not miss to snap some beautiful photos with the newly built drawbridge in the background.....they will surely look perfect in your picture frames, albums, instagram or perhaps Facebook! The area is a famous tourist spot, visited by the locals and tourists everyday. It is maintained pretty good, and the public should help as well by not littering. Otherwise, it will ruin the cleanliness of this beautiful place.
Rosli N — Google review
New jetty but there are not enough places to sit and the facilities can be improved. No pictures taken but i am sure you will be able to relate when you visit.

For all tourists who wants to go to Redang island using this jetty, this Jetty seems to be closed for indefinite period. You are advice to use taman tamadun islam jetty instead which is 15 minutes from here.

🤗 a combination of 8 families joined trip to Redang island 4d3n tour during May 2019 school holidays. Booked a luxury tour bus & departed from Johor at 1930hrs. Few piss-stop at fuel stations along the way to allow children "release tension" 😆💦 Driver was taking faster route & avoid highways. About 7 hours journey to reached Shahbandar jetty nearby Chinatown at 0330hrs, much earlier than expected 🙄 while jetty just 10-15 mins away. Driver parked our bus at Chinatown area & tuned aircon to optimize temp, asked everyone to continue sweet dreams 😴 About 0600hrs, driver shifted location to Chinatown for everyone to enjoy Chinese style breakfast. Johor wantan noodle taste better than local wantan 🤫 Then we headed to jetty at 0700hrs. About 10 mins drive from Chinatown. Apparently all ticket counters still closed 🤔 & we waited around 0830hrs, our ticket counter K8 for Redang beach resort has finally open for collecting our ferry & marine park tickets. Then we moved to departure lobby & crowed with tourist 😮 Everyone waited at departure hall & entered gate at around 0900hrs. Limited seat for tourist & the departure hall is quite small but it has clean & convenience toilets. Please take note that no announcement made via PA system, basically you need to aware of your boarding pass colour, the gate man will call for boarding pass colour e.g. blue, yellow, red respectively to enter departure gate 🙄 Perhaps this is the area jetty management should improve i.e. calling via PA system. After entered departure gate, we took about 10 mins walk to reach jetty pontoon & queuing to board ferry. Old but well maintained, clean, ac & life jacket at hand reach & visible compartment. So, we were heading to Redang Island. Check out my review about Redang Beach Resort for more information.
Thomas L — Google review
We have ample of parking space which the charg RM 15;per day.The place offer more seating which good for us to wait. You need to pay RM 5 for marine park fee. Nearby we have some local food stalls and convinece store for any urgency. Overall decent waiting area. However this jetrTy will not be sufficient on peak period. This is relatively smaller jetty compare to other jetties in Malaysia which more spacious.hope terggannu Gov will invest more in this infrastructure to boost local tourism

Kuala Terengganu Waterfront is a bustling area where visitors can experience the lively activities of fishmongers haggling for seafood prices and take boat rides to surrounding islands. The city, with strong Malay influences, is the capital of Terengganu and boasts a 244 km coastline facing the South China Sea. It serves as a gateway to popular nearby islands such as Redang, Perhentian, and Lang Tengah.
Good place to rilex and eat. Located just beside the main river, flowing to the sea. The wind was quite strong, enough to make you cool. Food is the main attraction here. We went at night during rainy night and couldn't much enjoyed the river anyway. Parking is free and plenty.
Nordin K — Google review
A few restaurants here but they were quite empty at about 5pm. There is a tiny fish stall beside it selling small fresh catch of the day. Much more could have been done to improve the area for a better experience
Google L — Google review
View of Terengganu River. The waterfront near the Jambatan Angkat is far more attractive. Can give this place a miss as it is not well-maintained.
Tou L — Google review
Since the Kg. Tiong hawker center has been relocated to one end of the waterfront site business is gradually picking up. While on the opposite end of the waterfront is the famous Felda multiple storey hotel. Overall the waterfront is suited on the right site especially in town. Do drop off at this waterfront to enjoy the breezy wind and atmosphere. The waterfront may not be the best at least it is worth distressing after a long journey. Enjoy!!
Lee B — Google review
The KT Waterfront seriously needs some sprucing up. Lacking in charm and public amenities, it is a wasted opportunity for the city to attract tourists and locals who could enjoy a sunset view over the Terengganu River. Perhaps visitors get confused between the KT Waterfront and the Pulau Warisan riverfront as photos of the Pulau Warisan area are posted here. It is not a good indication of public awareness.

Pulau Warisan Kuala Terengganu

4.3
(2446)
Pulau Warisan, also known as Heritage Island, is an artificial island located at the mouth of the Terengganu River near Kampung Cina. During the day, it serves as a parking spot and a popular location for taking photos. At night, it transforms into Pasar Malam Pulau Warisan (Pulau Warisan Night Market), offering a wide variety of street food and local delights.
I came during the monsoon season so the waves were very big and the wind was really strong. The place kinda interesting but if you go on a normal day, not many shops are open and there are many parking spaces available.
Muhammad D — Google review
The island is deserted in the daytime except for the water taxi / river cruise at the seaward end. The same end has surprisingly clean beaches, but if you go for a swim you will be sharing the water with large monitor lizards. In the evening it comes alive as the food stalls open. There is a cosmopolitan variety of snacks drinks and meals available for you to graze your way around the stalls. I recommend Pisang Cheese, an unlikely but delicious combination of deep fried banana pieces, cream cheese sauce and grated cheese.
John W — Google review
There’s an uptown spot with lots of local food and a nice sea breeze. Plenty of parking, and prices are pretty reasonable. Would be even better if more stalls were open — there are lots of tents, but not many are running. Feels a bit quiet, but has great potential!
MOHD A — Google review
A very windy and spacious place for visitors to enjoy the river view and grab a quick bite. Those hawkers at Pulau Warisan begin their business in the evening. There are plenty of parking spots there so definitely is not an issue here.
Tze T — Google review
The Night Market has quite a lot of food selections. Just wish there are more local delicacies. Plenty of parking available. Worth a visit though!

A walkway along the promenade and you could see the the coastal line. The water is not clean though. The area is packed with different stalls selling food and drinks.
Nomad A — Google review
Went here to take a fresh air. There are a few stall there so you can buy foods and drinks and enjoy it by the river. People there also not crowded👍🏻✨✨
Anis S — Google review
A great short getaway destination for all -- families, friends and tourists. During the day, better to enjoy and explore the Chinese Village, take bunch of pictures with the numerous different murals we have. But during the night, Pulau Warisan shine the best with all the colourful lights. A number of food choices available during the weekend but I'm not too sure about weekdays. You can hang out by the shore of the beach or on the grass after eating, enjoying the night scenery if you wish. However, one thing lacking is that there are no toilets available as well a the lack of trash can. A bit of a letdown. Other than that, it's pretty nice. 😊

Restaurant
Zie's Corner offers a variety of dishes worth trying, such as chicken chop, grilled lamb, Terengganu-style nasi lemak, meatballs, and chicken parmigiana. They also serve refreshing drinks like strawberry shake and vanilla float. While you indulge in the delicious food at Zie's Corner, your kids can have fun at the nearby playground. The restaurant provides a decent and cozy dining experience with quick service and reasonable prices.
"I have been visiting Zie’s Corner for the past 25 years, and still, their menu and quality taste the same. Kudos to the owner. It's hard to find a decent Western with choices that satisfying. We would try a different menu every time we pay a visit. But the most mouth-watering menu item was the pancake. Its caramel perfection with ice cream on top, a perfect combination to call a dessert!"
Nonis K — Google review
went for breakfast at a spot with ample parking and a riverside view. I ordered the honey pancake and nasi lemak ayam. The prices were slightly on the higher side considering the portion sizes—RM12 for the pancake and RM10 for the nasi lemak ayam. The nasi lemak was satisfying, with fragrant rice, crispy chicken, and egg that complemented each other well. However, the sambal could use some improvement as it tasted a bit plain. Same goes with fries anchovies a bit too salty. The pancake had a decent presentation but lacked flavor. Overall, it was an acceptable experience with quick service at the counter. That said, the pricing could be better aligned with the portion sizes.

Despite of all the reviews here,at first I was a bit sceptical when my family wanted to have dinner here, but then..surprisingly its not that bad lah.. food is good, especially their MASHED POTATOES and SANDWICHES.. damn good I tell you.. you guys should try their sandwiches 👍🏼👍🏼. Lamb chop too dry, I hope they will improvise. Overall with that kind of view and their food, its a decent and cosy place to hang out with your family.. I will definitely come again for their sandwiches 😁
Ain Z — Google review
They serves outdated menus to customers. Drinks that is Rm 4 in the menus are actually RM 5 in the bill. I asked for 1 extra sauce but the server never send it and i went to get it by myself and was charged for 2 sauces which is Rm7 and sounded weird because the servers said that 1 sauce is rm 3. Never have i found a fish n chips place that serves ”haruan tasik” as their fish. Very unsuitable. It was dry and fishy. They did not use batter but they used breadcrumbs which is also weird because it dries the already naturally dried fish. The rm 20 dish was 2 very thin fish and chips. I only tasted the breadcrumbs. They should change the fish to dory or salmon and use proper batter so that at least it pleases people's eyes Wrong moves guys. Nasi lemak was delicious. The chicken chop price went up whilst the portion shrinks. Servers were also lazy and unresponsive to questions. This used to be a good place for people to go to spend their hard earned money once a while now its just a n over hyped hipster cafe. Did not have a good experience. I dont recommend people to come here and spend their money. Okay view tho

As an American visiting T town. I saw this place as I was driving by and after looking at the reviews it was pretty awesome. The service was really top notch because My sister ordered a carrot juice and it tasted nasty AF but she didn’t have the guts to tell the waiter but magically the waiter came over by himself and asked if she wanted to change her drink because he had tried some in the back and said it tasted sour. Never had that happen when I was in Malaysia and that type of service is why this place is amazing. I had the banana and pineapple pancakes. It’s more of a thin crepe than pancake but deep fried bananas on top was pretty amazing. Overall I’d recommend this place if you want good service, food and a great view of the water. It’s seat your self, wave down a waiter, and pay at the counter once you are finished eating. Lmk if you have any question @ninjaxfang

Noodle shop
Mei Fong Curry Noodles 美凤姐咖喱面 is a must-visit spot in Chinatown, T town. The curry noodle experience here is delightful and reasonably priced at 6rm per bowl. Although lacking A/C, the friendly uncle proprietor provides great service and patiently recommends dishes according to taste buds. The menu is only in Chinese, but simply let the boss know your preference for curry or dry noodles with meat or vegetarian options.
Always came to Mei Fong not for curry mee , but for the western food… has been a regular customer for this western food stall for years. It was previously in Chinatown hawker center and then moved here after the hawker center got abolished. His black pepper chicken chop (RM17) is highly recommended! Mushroom sauce chicken chop and Maryland with brown sauce are okay too!

The shop's operating hours listed on Google maps were not exactly accurate as it was closed during the day when we initially visited. However, to our surprise, when we happened to pass by at night, it was open for business. The owner explained that they typically serve Thai food at night, except on Sundays when they take a rest. We had initially wanted to try their curry noodle during the day, but they were tired that day, so they didn't open the shop. Interestingly, we noticed that many restaurants in the area don't adhere to the timings displayed on Google maps, which was puzzling. Nonetheless, we decided to give it a try and ordered the curry noodle, which turned out to be quite average and quite salty, possibly due to being reheated multiple times. We also tried some of their Thai dishes like the salt-baked fish, BBQ pork jowl meat, and pad khaprao, but unfortunately, they were just average in terms of taste and quality. Despite the disappointments with the dishes, the owners’ warm and accommodating demeanor added a positive touch to the overall experience.

Great service by the proprietor... friendly uncle. Food was great too. Had curry noodles, grilled pork, rice oek set, Thai mango salad .. all were good especially the curry and Thai mango salad. Don't compare with other regions. Friendly uncle patiently recommends food according to our taste buds and the portion. Stopped us from ordering more as not to waste food which not many restaurants do.

Definitely overpriced with the extremely normal curry mee without any special like you can get anywhere in Malaysia. Not worth to go. And the what so ever Thai style food they are selling also not good at all.

Curry Noodles in Terengganu quite different from other place of Malaysia, you should try it for yourself. Here also got sell roti paung, too bad we are too full to order it and try. Tasty Curry Noodles! Curry Noodles is a must try when you visit Chinatown Street in Kuala Terengganu. It's their signature dish that you'll never regret trying. Suitable for young kids too as it's not spicy, but if you're a person who love Chillies, you may add their homemade dried Chillies mix served on every table. Steamed Lekor is something new to me, but not so much to my liking though.

As an American visiting Chinatown in T town. I wanted something to eat on Raya since only Chinese people work today. It was a nice curry noodle experience. Very reasonable price for the amount of food. 6rm per bowl. They don’t have A/C and just a few fans so it can get hot. The menu is only in Chinese so u will have to look at the pictures but essentially just let the boss know you either want curry noodle soup with meat or vegetarian and or dry noodles with meat or vegetarian. Thankfully cuz ur on Google u can also show her the pictures. It’s pay as you go. So the uncle will come around to order ur drinks and u pay him when he brings them. Same with food. Order in the front and pay when they arrive at ur table. Hope that’s as helpful. Ask me questions on @ninjaxfang if you have questions. Happy Raya!

Really yummy curry laksa noodles and iced kopi (coffee). Got the kuey teow noodles—good sized serving with plenty of tender and well-cooked chicken, fish and tofu plus half a boiled egg for only 6rm! Large cup of iced sweetened coffee for just 2rm. Nice English-friendly service. They have plenty of indoor/outdoor seating. Clean and peaceful environment. I will be back. Update: came back and tried the Taiwan braised pork noodles. The pork was well cooked with a good balance of lean and fatty meat. Came with a boiled egg, some greens and broth. Everything about their food is so good - very well balanced, well cooked, nicely presented, and good portion.

It’s a blessing to find this place on a Friday where all other businesses are closed. It’s worth to appreciate the effort by the operators to serve the customers as well as possible. Hope more people support these small operators so they can find more business. Prices are definitely cheaper than KL.

Restaurant
Restoran Singgang Budu is a popular dining spot in Kuala Terengganu, known for serving local dishes and its signature dish, singgang. This unique dish is a rare find outside the state and is highly favored by locals. The restaurant offers a variety of delicious traditional village dishes that cater to the East Coast taste buds. While singgang is the highlight, there are also other appetizing options available.
We went here at lunch time on Sunday. Crowded and hot. But the food is good, service is fast , seat is easy to find. Only parking is a bit difficult.

Not bad for the first time coming here after they changed location. The dishes are varied with plenty of choices. Prices start from as low as RM3 and depend on what you choose and take. From the photo, you can roughly guess the type of mixed dishes they serve. The place is spacious.

Great choice of lauk to feast with eyes and stomach. This place is clean, with plenty of tables and seats. It's not too warm even though it's not air-conditioned. I arrived a bit too early for brunch at 11am but the dishes were already available. All except the keropok station, which had not started operating yet.

Family of 4; arrived 11am. June 2025. First time here, found one lot at the front parking. There were also parking on the road outside or behind the bldg. Place was half full & they were roasting meat & chicken at the front; looks smoking good! First, u collect ur tray, plates & go for the rice & everything else! They had so much food variations u cannot take all, it is so hard to gv up some food. We had 1 tray for 4 plates of rice & another tray for all the lauk & ulam. Yes, they had various types of sambal sauces; be spoilt people! Come with ur trays to the cashier & they will cost out for payment. Drinks to be ordered at another counter, the payment counter. This is where u order ur drinks & make payment for the food as well. They had adequate hand-washing points & oh, a lunchtime acoustic performance, which creates a more casual experience. *good band they were. The food was good, many variations esp seafood. The fried squid was a bit tad tough, perhaps they can cook longer to get more tenderness in every bite! The veggies & raw bites that comes with mouth-watering sambal sauces had a good spread. Again, u just cannot take all. Total cost slightly steep owing to the fact that they had a big spread of food variations & the quality of each dish. It's like a buffet spread but u only pay for what u take. By the time we were done, it was lunch time & realised the place was full with a queue! Thank you Restoran Singgang Budu, we had a good lunch!

We came all the way to Singgang Budu Terengganu around 4pm, knowing the restaurant closes at 5pm. We ordered fast and even ate quickly, just to make sure we didn’t trouble anyone. But while we were still eating, one of the staff suddenly shouted “Balik, Balik” at us. We even finished eating at 4.30 and pay directly. Honestly, it was shocking and embarrassing. We were still within the opening hours, and there was no need to treat customers like that. We came to enjoy good food, not to be rushed and yelled at. The food was nice, but the way we were treated completely ruined the experience. We left feeling really unwelcome definitely not the Terengganu hospitality we expected.
Lea — Google review
Singgang Budu has many interesting food choices to grill, Singgang, goring and macan-macan, there are also ulam-ulam, hot fat lekor accompanied by live band singers. But the open area is very hot and there is no cooling ventilation. It is suggested to put mist water pipe nozzles on each of the big fans and a water wheel on the roof is even better. The temperature in the shop can be lowered. Recommended.
Amirul M — Google review
Came around 2pm for lunch and the que was long. It took so long for the staff to refill the plates and rice despite the long que. You need to be quick and get your table. While your partner queing up to enter the restaurant, the other person need to hunt for the table. Once you secured your table, you need to clean up the previous person’s plates & cup & wipe your own table. No staff will do it for you. No water at most of the sink and the only sinks that has water only giving small water flow. In terms of food, its nothing to shout about. Some of the dishes were tasteless and some were ok. The owner should plan it better in terms of services and facilities since it is a school boliday and it has been operated for quite some time. Not recommended unless you are ok to wait.

Masjid Kristal, also known as the Crystal Mosque, is a stunning architectural marvel located in Terengganu, Malaysia. Situated on Wan Man Island within the Islamic Heritage Park, this opulent mosque is constructed from steel, glass, and crystal. Its unique design incorporates Moorish and Gothic elements and features a massive chandelier that illuminates the interior. Accessible to non-Muslim visitors, it's necessary to borrow a sarong and headscarf before entering the mosque itself.
Sorry to disappoint the believers and the visitors but it is not crystal, it's merely tainted glass, but I guess you knew that already. The surrounding area is wide, clean, quiet, hot during the noon hours as there's not much shade, I haven't seen the inside as it was closed, but the architecture ( consistent with the south east Asian Islamic style) itself and the sun reflection on all its mirrors make a stunning and beautiful effect. There's more to awe than taking pictures for Instagram, please take time to slow down, be quiet and reflect on the faith that built this Mosque. I felt serene in that place even if I'm not a Muslim .

Alhamdulilah get chance to pray Subuh in this masjid. The road from enterance to the mosque is quite dark and no light. The for subuh prayer barely to get at least 10 person. Maybe because this mosque is quite far from the locals house. But anyway a great memory to be able to pray at this mosque

This place is not well maintained. As it is a main tourist attraction, maintenance should be carry out regularly. The ‘crystal’ looks rusty and dull. The surroundings are hazardious to visitors. The souvenir stall in the compound area should be move as it is distorting the view of visitors to take pictures.

The Crystal Mosque (Masjid Kristal) is truly one of the most breathtaking landmarks in Malaysia! 🌟 Located within the Islamic Heritage Park (Taman Tamadun Islam) in Kuala Terengganu, this mosque stands out with its unique architecture made of steel, glass, and crystal, giving it a shimmering, elegant appearance — especially under sunlight or when illuminated at night. ✨ Visiting the mosque feels magical. During the day, the structure reflects the sky and river beautifully, while at night, colorful lights transform it into a glowing masterpiece. The combination of modern design and Islamic artistry makes it one of the most photogenic spots in Terengganu. 📸 The surroundings are peaceful and well-maintained, with plenty of space to walk, take photos, or simply sit and admire the view by the river. The mosque is still an active place of worship, so visitors are reminded to dress modestly and respect prayer times. Inside, the mosque feels serene and majestic — the prayer hall is clean, spacious, and filled with soft natural light. It’s a great place not only for Muslims to pray, but also for non-Muslim visitors to appreciate the beauty of Islamic culture and architecture. Overall, the Crystal Mosque is a must-visit destination in Terengganu — whether for its spiritual atmosphere, breathtaking design, or photogenic views. A true symbol of beauty, faith, and modernity. ❤️
Kambing G — Google review
This is one of the iconic, unique and beautiful mosque in Malaysia. It is considered unique as it is the first and only mosque that is built entirely from steel and glass and hence the crystal-like image of the mosque. It was constructed between 2006 and 2008 and opened on 8 February 2008 by the 13th Yang diPertuan Agong, Sultan Mizan Zainal Abidin of Terengganu. I had been here several times, and in my honest opinion the whole area needs a good uplifting and maintenance. There are many visitors to the mosque, but somehow the shops nearby the area are not surviving well. There is a Taman Tamadun Islam nearby the area, but it looks dilapidated and I am not sure whether anyone goes there anymore. There is also a Convention Centre, that still functions cos’ there are events being conducted there. Anyway, with the regards to the mosque, there are many visitors, some come to pray inside, while others come for the photos. Wedding photo shoot is also quite popular here. The mosque is clean and well organised, considering the throng of visitors. However the air-condition is not functioning very well inside the mosque. Kudos to the management of the mosque and I hope they receive continuous funds to maintain and keep the mosque clean. May Allah bless their efforts. May Allah also bless all those who perform prayers inside the mosque.

Worth a visit if you are in Tergganu. The island is interested as a man made area. However most impressive is the Crystal Mosque which is the highlight and makes this area worth a visit. Beautiful Concept, Poorly Maintained Visited Taman Tamadun Islam with high hopes as the concept is truly unique and educational. The replicas of iconic Islamic architecture from around the world are impressive and offer great potential for learning and cultural appreciation. However, it's disappointing to see that the place is not well maintained. Some areas look rundown, with fading paint, broken structures, and overgrown landscaping. With proper upkeep and attention, this could be a must-visit attraction in Terengganu. Hopefully, it will be restored to its full glory in the future.

Pretty sad actually. They have the vision and mission to be an excellent park yet their dream seem to be vanished and abandon the most crucial part which is - maintaining the facility. This massive park has everything to be success. The location, the attractions, the volume of visitors coming in. To be fair, it definitely needs a boost on redefine the purpose of this magnificent park. Work on maintaining is a must. Put more effort on this. Several sites seem dismal and out of place. Top attractions but neglected the jewel itself.

Specialty Museums
The Terengganu State Museum, located in Kampung Losong, is the largest museum in Southeast Asia and a top attraction in Kuala Terengganu, Malaysia. The complex features buildings inspired by traditional houses and spans four buildings with nine galleries. Visitors can explore exhibits such as ancient inscription stones, traditional weapons, Islamic art, and traditional houses. The museum also boasts lush gardens and ponds for visitors to enjoy.
Visit to Terengganu Museum We went during a public holiday, but it wasn’t too crowded. Entry fee was RM5 for adults and RM3 for children. The atmosphere was beautiful with a nice museum vibe. While the collection isn’t as extensive as the one in Melaka, it’s still a worthwhile experience for history lovers. The museum is quite tall and exploring everything can be a bit tiring, but overall it was a good and meaningful experience.
Ayu S — Google review
The building is massive and truly impressive—the architecture alone is mesmerizing. Only two blocks were open to visitors, while the rest remained closed. Having visited many museums, I didn’t find the exhibits particularly extraordinary, but the structure itself makes it worth a visit. There’s also a cultural village nearby with many traditional houses, which adds to the overall experience.

This museum is huge. Lots to discover.. make sure you call to all the exhibits. There's one downstairs people usually misses. The ticket counter take cash only so make sure prepare your cash. Ticket entrance is cheap. So no worries. Love the architecture.
Shazwan S — Google review
The museum is very big and nicely air-conditioned! I came around 1pm, and it was such a relief to step inside and feel cool right away. The exhibitions are arranged by floors—on the ground floor there’s a focus on batik and songket, but I found it a bit confusing that many of the photos were from Johor instead of Terengganu. The upper floors had more on Terengganu’s history, which was amazing to see. Personally, I think the clothing exhibition would be better placed upstairs, as it felt a little boring on the lower level. Also, there were many replicas instead of original artifacts, and some items didn’t have clear information about their function or date of origin. That said, taking photos outside the museum is really beautiful—the building and surroundings are stunning!
Farisha H — Google review
There are two types of tickets: - One for the main museum galleries - One for the outdoor exhibits (traditional houses, boats, etc.) Each ticket is RM5 for adults, while children and OKU (persons with disabilities) enter for free—very thoughtful! During our visit, several areas were closed for maintenance, including the traditional boat exhibit. While it was a bit disappointing, we understand the importance of upkeep to preserve these cultural treasures. Hopefully more areas will reopen soon! The museum complex is designed in the style of traditional Malay houses—it’s like walking through a life-sized kampung postcard. The buildings themselves are part of the learning experience. The museum grounds are stunning—lush greenery, traditional architecture, and serene vibes. Perfect for post-wedding photoshoots, graduation portraits, or even just a peaceful stroll with family. The open-air layout and spacious grounds make it ideal for families. Kids can explore freely between pavilions, peek into traditional house interiors, and enjoy the outdoor exhibits—even if interactive screens are limited. Also, The staff were welcoming and helpful, adding to the overall pleasant experience. There’s a small shop selling books, handicrafts, and cultural souvenirs—great for picking up a memento or educational gift. Facilities for OKU are available, including ramps and elevators, making the museum inclusive and easy to navigate. Open daily from 9 AM to 5 PM, except Fridays. It’s best to plan your visit early to enjoy the full experience before closing time. Suggestion Regular updates on which sections are open would be helpful for visitors planning their trip. Maintenance is necessary, but a little notice goes a long way!

The Terengganu State Museum is one of the most impressive museums in Malaysia — and definitely worth a visit if you’re in Kuala Terengganu! 🏛️ The architecture itself is stunning, built in the style of traditional Malay houses with beautiful wooden carvings and elevated walkways surrounded by lush greenery. 🌴 Inside, the museum offers a deep insight into Terengganu’s rich culture, Islamic heritage, traditional crafts, and maritime history. Each gallery is well-organized, featuring ancient artifacts, royal regalia, textiles, traditional weapons, and even old fishing boats. One of the highlights is the replica of Batu Bersurat, which tells the story of the early arrival of Islam in Malaysia. Outside the main building, there are several traditional houses on display that visitors can explore — each showcasing different architectural styles from across the state. The surrounding area is peaceful and perfect for taking photos or just enjoying the quiet atmosphere by the river. The museum is spacious, clean, and well-maintained. Staff are friendly and helpful, and the entrance fee is very reasonable considering the amount of history you get to experience. Overall, the Terengganu State Museum is not just a place to see old things — it’s a place to connect with the soul of Terengganu. Highly recommended for families, students, and anyone who loves culture, history, and heritage. ❤️

We also ordered teh buih, which was nice and sweet — a little too sweet for me, but hey, it’s cheat day, so no complaints! The price was very reasonable — all our nasi kerabu meals came to just RM69. Totally worth it. Parking can be a bit tricky though. Roadside parking is limited, but you can park across the street. Just remember to pay the parking fee using the Flexi Parking app. Seating inside the restaurant is also quite limited, so be prepared to wait a little, especially during peak hours. But trust me, it’s worth the patience! Plus to make it even worth it. We Met UAI. Alhamdulillah.

The kambing masak kicap is superb. The ayam pangang very tasty. This is a must try Nasi kerabu in Terengganu. Queue starts as early as 7am. Normally people will pack but dine in is available.

Came here 3 times when we visited KT. Definitely worth it! The nasi kerabu, ayam Bakar, solok lada (not sure if it was spelled correctly) are my favourites. Their drink, especially teh beng is different from other states, and its sweet (haha). The staff are friendly and nice.

Adilroti is a popular breakfast spot located beneath the flyover bridge from Duyong Island in Kuala Terengganu, Terengganu. It's a local favorite known for its iconic roti goyang and sweet yet tasty sauce. The menu may be slightly challenging to decipher, but the food is excellent. Visitors recommend trying the roti goyang with curry and sambal, accompanied by a cup of Kopi or Teh/Green Tea for a delightful experience.
Great experience to enjoy real delicious roti. Very friendly staff and high quality food. We came back twice as we so much enjoyed havong our breakfast with good mango lassi and ice caffee! Well recommended!

A non local here. I was expecting something savoury but the taste is sweet. The sambal is sweeter than the gravy. Overall service was okay.

Arrived at 9.30 am on Saturday and it was not too pack. Justnice. You should try Roti Gulung Daging with fresh salad here! Tasty and delicious! 5 stars! We also try roti bom- absolute peak of roti bomb! Then we try Roti Goyang Telur Arung- still amazing taste! Try the nasi minyak and it is affordable! Good taste. We order Neslo Peng as drink- sweet and good! All in all, everything here is delicious! Price is good and reasonable! Ambience is very good. Nature and hide from the sun. It is serene and peaceful vibe for breakfast in Terengganu! Cashier and all is super nice. The parking is easy. The bathroom is accessible nearby.

Scrumptious roti sarang denesor daging, roti gulung daging and roti goyang double. Waiting time to get a seat and then for the ordered food to be served is a bit long during school holidays.

I order roti telur dinosaur. I like the curry & also sambal taste. Some of the beef is soft, and some hard to chew. Shawarma taste is quite plain for me. But, overall it's okay and suite my taste.

Popular breakfast spot as many locals were there having their breakfast as early as 8am. It is beneath the flyover bridge from duyong island. Had their iconic roti goyang. Sauce was quite sweet but tasty. Roti planta was okay. Saw alot of people ordered the roti coklat for their children, seems very popular. Theres a short queue outside when arriving, but was seated within 5 mins. Service was fast. Parking is limited, just open parking nearby. Cleanliness can be improved

Nasi Dagang Kak Jah

Restaurant
The next destination for you to find popular Nasi Dagang in Kuala Terengganu is Warung Nasi Dagang Kak Jah, located in Bukit Besar. Similar to Nasi Dagang Atas Tol, this Nasi Dagang spot has been established in Kuala Terengganu for a long time and has its own loyal fans. If you are staying around Bandar KT, you can come here in the morning for breakfast which only takes about 10 minutes driving time.
RM3.50 for a generous portion of nasi dagang with plenty of fish! Delicious tasting kuah! It's a nice family run place. But their timing and efficiency of service is not great - they open at 7 but they're not ready to serve until about 7.30+ (usually running out by 9.30). There's also only 1 or 2 people fulfilling all the orders and acting as cashier, so you have to wait a while. Maybe 3-5 minutes per customer in the queue. Yes there's usually a queue so get here early!
Lisa C — Google review
Their nasi dagang is to die for. It's truly authentic and prepared in the traditional way. The makcik in the kitchen makes it with love and care.

Worst service. Arrogant Kak Jah. Bland gravy. Been queue from 7.00am to 7.50am. Fews uncles arrived before me. Happened to be I'm the first in line as people start to queue. Then this kak jah asked who's the number one. I pointed out to few uncles behind me. After few uncles get their order, somehow this kak jah refuse to do my order and asked me to queue at back. Luckily this one uncle behind me said that I'm queueing accordingly. Seriously this kak jah is super arrogant. Not going to come to this shop again. Food is below average. Rice is a bit hard and gravy is bland. Need to add salt. Seems like the worst I ever eaten. P/s I'm not planning to come here at first, but that day ndat franchise is closed.

For fans of freshwater fish (river fish) like baung, keli, patin, talapia, and others, why not try Restoran Dbaung for lunch? They offer a variety of delicious dishes made with freshwater fish that are complemented by fresh ulam-ulaman and spicy budu sauce. The best part is that the fish used here is always fresh and retains its natural sweetness unlike in other places.
Authentic Malay food experience for those seeking good and flavorful lunch with an extremely affordable price. The restaurants grows its own ulam from upcycled barrels so the freshness of the vegetables served is guaranteed. Try the ikan patin masak tempoyak and know that you will be having seconds because the flavor is divine. The gravy is thick and you can taste the tempoyak in every spoonful.

Probably the best masak tempoyak I've ever tasted. People usually come for their Ikan Baung Masak Tempoyak but I personally prefer their ikan patin because they use fresh fishes. The kuah is awesome. Pedas dan pekat. Tapi tak pekat sampai rasa muak. Just nice. Love their services too. Friendly staffs, variety of other dishes and I love their not so sweet air barli. And yes, quite reasonable price.

Shopping mall
KTCC Mall in Terengganu is a great place to visit. It’s spacious and easy to get around, so you won’t have trouble finding the stores you need. There’s a good variety of things to shop for, from fresh fruits and produce to handbags and clothes. Plus, there’s a cinema for when you want to catch a movie, and plenty of food spots to grab a bite. The atmosphere is lively, making it a fun place to hang out, whether you’re shopping or just enjoying the vibe. Definitely a go-to spot for a day out.

Spacious and clean mall with a good mix of retail, F&B, and lifestyle outlets. Convenient location with ample parking. Seasonal decorations add a nice festive touch. A pleasant place to shop, hang out, or even just walk around.

The second-best shopping mall in Kuala Terengganu. It offers a decent selection of brands, but don’t expect a wide variety of shops or products compared to shopping centers in a big city like Kuala Lumpur. Parking can be challenging but is less troublesome than at Mayang Mall, which is often a nightmare.

Nice mall located in Kuala Terengganu, near to draw bridge. There’s a lot of restaurants, small operating kiosks and clothes stores. There’s also cinema but it was closed when I went there. For me this mall feels empty especially on 3rd and 4th floor since there is a lot of empty shops. But overall it still nice to hang out here
Husna J — Google review
This mall is near to the drawbridge and offers variety of low to medium end brands. Not very crowded area. Every level has different selection of tenants. They should bring in more attractive tenants. But, it’s a nice place for a quick hangout with friends.
Xiammun N — Google review
Huge spacious mall. Parking is a bit difficult because at peak, you're going in circles looking for parking because there aren't indicators of free spaces. Also take note of exits. They aren't clearly labelled so you can find yourself driving in circles in search of the exit (singular exit) This is for non-locals as locals can find their way easy enough

Masjid Al-Muktafi Billah Shah, situated in a popular tourist area, is an exquisite mosque that caters to the needs of all worshippers. While the parking area is spacious, it may not be sufficient to accommodate a large number of visitors simultaneously. The masjid is clean and well-maintained, making it easy to locate near the tourist spot.

I had the pleasure of visiting Masjid Al-Muktafi Billah Shah. The mosque is very clean and well-maintained. I was particularly impressed that the toilets were well-kept and there were no spots on the carpet, showing great attention to detail. It's also a big plus that a dedicated ladies' prayer space is available.

Good place for Muslims to do their prayers. I would prefer some air conditioner to be installed tho, but don't worry, even without it, it's comfortable enough due to a large fan being installed. The mosque is spacious, with many lines for Muslims to fill for prayers. Even the Imam leading each prayer did a good job at reciting the Quran! Totally recommended

Perfect place to 'lepak' if you come to Kuala Terengganu! Beach well cleaned, have jogging track, with lot of food stalls and restaurants nearby. Lot and lot activities to do (especially with kids) like play kite, pet, riding horse, etc in the evening and night. But you can't swim here. One of the stunning views will be sunrise in the morning. This is very long beach, so the parking will be very ample but easy to full especially in peak hours/days. Just forget about the parking, bring your mat, and enjoy the real beach life lol. I do hope the responsible people will read my review. I am thankful that they placed UTC inside the PB Square. 👍🏻 However, I need to highlight my only complaint here which is the PARKING. There is a parking place ( under ground ) provided which is too expensive. Its rm2 per hour. And If u spend 3-4 hours there, u will need to pay rm8! It is not worth it as the parking is So dark and quite scary. Totally not worth the price. And for those who drive lowered car, Please dont even think to park here If u love your car. The nearby parking lot would be in front of the pb square ( outside) . And yep, it costs the same. U will need to cross the road to go there. I do hope responsible people can look into the matter. Nasi restaurant
Nasi Dagang Atas Tol-Bandar is a renowned restaurant in Terengganu, with three branches in Kuala Terengganu. The first branch opened in a place called Atas Tol. Nasi Dagang, the signature dish, is a mix of rice and glutinous rice cooked with coconut milk. It's considered the most representative food of Terengganu. The restaurant also offers Nasi Minyak and Pulut Kuning.
Queued for 1 hour just to taste this legendary Nasi Dagang Atas Tol in Terengganu — and it was totally worth it! Arrived at 7:15AM, only got to place my order at 8:20AM, but the moment I took the first bite… heavenly. The flavors, the texture, the gulai — it’s no wonder this place draws such a crowd! Truly one of Terengganu’s most iconic dishes, and this spot nailed it. Business is booming — maybe soon they’ll introduce a queue system or digital order method so visitors don’t have to line up for so long. If you’re in town, don’t miss this gem. Worth every minute of the wait!

Another NDAT restaurant @warung style makan place in Kuala Terengganu CBD. Like the other NDAT outlets, serving Nasi Dagang and variations of Nasi Dagang and the infamous Teh Ombak Rindu, ala fast food. Eat in or takeaway, either way you get inexpensive no frill very good tasty local food. The restaurant is very simple, clean and very quick service and usually crowded by mid morning. Parking is a bit tricky unless you pay in a paid up parking next door or the off street parking around. Good food, quick service and clean restaurant. Easy recommendation 👌

Best breakfast experience I have ever had in Kuala Terengganu! 🤩 We arrived at this place around 8.00am and it was already pretty full. However, service was so quick as we didn’t have to wait too long, despite the growing crowd. We ordered the classic Nasi Dagang and Nasi Minyak Ayam Goreng. My Nasi Minyak came with some spicy sambal, pineapple and cucumber salad, and this amazing juicy fried chicken! 😋 I made sure to ask for the fish curry that is served with the Nasi Dagang as well, as that was the show stealer in the restaurant for sure! 😍 We also got these crunchy lekors and kayu keramats, and they were delicious! It was my first time trying kayu keramat, and it blew me away! 🤯 It felt like a denser version of cakoi, yet still stood out in its own way. Overall, I loved how I could try few different yummy Terengganu dishes in a quick breakfast session. I don’t typically eat rice for breakfast, but trust me, the dishes here do hit the spot. ❤️

If you re in Kuala Terengganu you should taste this. Open for breakfast only i guess since this resto will closed at 11.30. Recomended menu: nasi dagang ikan and ais teh tarik buih! And come early at 7 or 7.30 am since it will crowded at 8.00

First time trying this traditional meal as it was nearby my hotel. Came at 7.20am & the eat-in queue was long. There were no one at the takeaway line. Basic set rice with a chunk of fish, gravy & relish. U can add fried chicken & a drink. The rice was nice, unique to me. The fish was fresh & chunky, the gravy really tasty. Pls secure a table here before u make ur order. Otherwise, u will be circling around with a tray without a table.
Doug A — Google review
We arrived at 6.45am on a Sat and queue was not so bad for dine-in but there were already 5-6pax in front of us for takeaways. This contradicted some comments where the queue was longer for takeaways. Although the wait was a bit more significant that we anticipated, it was definitely worth it. Being brought up with homemade Nasi Dagang from Kelantan, this is on par to a homecook meal. The Nasi Dagang felt “clean” and delicately balanced with freshness of the “tongkol” fish the highlight and just the right portion. Service was warm and I can understand the long wait as the staff takes great care in preparing the takeout with a clean kitchen counter despite the overwhelming people ordering. Overall definitely a food I look forward to when visiting Kuala Terengganu and hopeful the quality remains consistent as it is today. The drinks is definitely a must try and even the Nasi Lemak with generous portion of high grade anchovies leaves a memorable impression.
Mohd F — Google review
Nasi dagang is commonly eaten as a breakfast meal in Kuala Trengganu. The nasi dagang from this restaurant captured me with one bite. It's absolutely delicious and gets more flavourful with each bite. The rice is creamy and soft, steamed in coconut milk and halba (fenugreek seeds) for added aroma. Fried chicken has a crispy exterior and tender, juicy interior. Ikan tongkol curry has a red tinge and is rich and sweet, made from a blend of Malay spices and coconut milk. Their acar is refillable. While there, we ordered their frothy, sweet teh peng ombak rindu which is popular here. There's a choice of medium and super large size. First thing to do when you arrive is to get a table because after 7:30am, there will be more people arriving. Then queue and order your meal. There will be a person going around taking drinks order. You can pay later at the counter after you've finished eating.

Sincere feedback from me as a chef—your tom yum tastes bitter and lacks depth. Let me share a few tips. The issue likely comes from how you treat the tom yum paste. It’s already been sautéed during production, so boiling it for too long will make it bitter. Here’s what you can do: • Use a direct cooking method. • Don’t mix the paste into your clear fish stock from the start. • Instead, bring your stock to a boil first, then add the paste and simmer briefly. This way, your tom yum will taste fresher and more balanced.

If are a fan of eating rich flavour fresh food, then this place is a must, a very modern minimalistic restaurant, with a lively sitting area, food is amazing, service is amazing. The parking is free on street parking but difficult to find as it’s a bit rushy area. The serving quantity is nice. For anyone going there green thai curry is a must try, its the safest yummiest option.

srsly chef? ordered butter chicken but no taste even slightly taste of butter??? MORE LIKE MAYONNAISE CHICKEN . pls change the recipe or maybe the menu name.... but thats not the worst part :)... please dont buy the lemon fried chicken. it was the worst food ive ever tried... i am very disappointed. it looks & taste like you just pour sunquick + chicken...for the chicken chop.. the fried rice is tasteless + plain + dry. the black pepper sauce... hmm.. you tertuang satu bekas lada sulah ke dalam ni?? other than these , okey je . chef pls do better.

The food was too bad. The lemon fish was too sour until we got vomited. The rice was not cooked well. The marmite chicken was like maritim. It was not edible 😢 Pat chicken was too spicy and the portion was too little. The vege drumlet chicken was too bad. It has no salt at all. The vege chicken was a bit sour think it was about to expire. The barley cincau was not nice also. The shop was filled with flies. The service of staff were okay.It is better to close the shop.

Restaurant
Warung Dalam Kenangan is a popular dining spot in Kuala Terengganu, located near the beach and offering a delightful experience for lunch and dinner. The restaurant is known for its affordable and delicious food, with a buffet during lunch hours and fried dishes available for dinner. It's an ideal place to enjoy fresh seafood in a wonderful environment, complete with ample parking space and outdoor seating options.
Came here for lunch on Saturday. Luckily, it wasn’t too crowded at that time. The food is affordable and there are many choices, really makes you spoilt for choice! The staff are hardworking, always cleaning up right after customers finish eating. I tried the mango juice, so good! 🥭✨ There’s plenty of parking and you get to enjoy your meal facing the sea, which is a bonus. The dishes are nice, and I love that they clearly put the prices, so generous and transparent. Will definitely come again for lunch!

Worst experience ever. Wont repeat this place again. Its just hype & vibes. We ordered the RM100 sets, with 5 drinks & a somtam on 8.04PM. Got our RICE at 8.30 & our sets of food at 9.00PM. Started eating & we realized that our drinks isnt arriving so we ASKED the staff to check. Drinks was brought to us on 9.15PM and the staff has the audacity to tell us that 2 of our drink ISNT AVAILABLE. After a freaking an hour. And know what, the somtam did came, after we finished eating. That is of course after we asked. Tastewised, there are better place. There're lots of staff, but non of them are helpful.

There werent much people in the restaurant, but it still took us 1 hour to get our food which is just fried rice and sotong/udang celup tepung. I kinda wonder how can they be so late with just that order. Lot of people complains the same thing about the late delivery of food. However, the environment is very much beautiful, that i think its worth it to come just for the view/environment unless ure really hungry.

⭐☆☆☆☆ Extremely disappointing experience. Not recommended, especially for tourists. We visited Warung Dalam Kenangan at Pantai Batu Burok expecting a pleasant seafood meal by the beach, but it turned out to be one of the worst dining experiences we’ve had. • Parking is a nightmare. It’s extremely difficult to find a spot, even during non-peak hours. • Once seated, we had to wait over 1.5 hours just to receive one meal — the food was served in batches, so others at our table had to wait even longer. • The taste was bland and overpriced, definitely not worth the long wait or the money. • We later found out that local residents no longer support this place, and most customers are unaware tourists misled by social media marketing. • There are no waitstaff to assist; you must select your seafood, order your drinks, and collect everything yourself — which is highly inconvenient given the crowd. • Worst of all, there is no apology or explanation from the staff or management. The manager was unresponsive and ignored customer concerns completely. • Every table around us had unhappy and frustrated customers. It seems like the same complaints happen daily, yet nothing is being done to improve. Sadly, this place relies on false hype rather than genuine service or food quality. Would not recommend to any tourist or visitor. Save your time and money

The food was decent in terms of taste and reasonably priced. However, the service was very disappointing. It took far too long for the food to arrive, and despite repeatedly asking the staff for an extra plate and sauces, we never received them. Overall, the service was poor — the staff came across as unwelcoming and uninterested in helping. Definitely not a pleasant dining experience.
Izzat A — Google review
Such a bad experience, been waiting for almost 5 hours asking for plates, but no response at all. Food come late until the sunset is faded already. I had a bad experience at this restaurant. Please do better.

We were shocked and appalled by the standard of cleanliness and hygence of the restauarant, particularly the plates. The base of each plate was full of stains. It is obvious that the cleaning has left much to be desired. When we brought it to the attention of the person in charge,he seemed undisturbed and unresponsive. Too bad and wish them good luck.

Pizza Hut Delivery Kuala Terengganu is a popular chain offering pizza, wings, pasta, sides, and desserts for delivery, carry-out, and dine-in. The branch in Terengganu provides great Western food options like the Island Supreme pizza with thousand island sauce, tuna, pineapples, crab sticks, onions and mozzarella cheese. Despite some management flaws and occasional rush during peak times due to holiday crowds, the staff is friendly and efficient in taking orders and serving food promptly.
I ordered online and just took away my order. Service is efficient and fast. Pizza was good, and the topping is nice. My family enjoyed it. You need pizza? U must order or go for Pizza Hut!! Thanks for your great service!!

It was not the staff fault but lousy PH management. I was in the restaurant to buy pizzas but not allow me to use cashless payment(TNG, credit cards or boost), they insisted for cash payment even though now is still in pandemic. Won't support PH anymore. Go for other pizza restaurant better.

first of all this branch was a better branch than others, the main reason is because of the management and order takings, this branch provide a better and organized one next things was the pick up time they said it would take around 30 minutes and yep it's is even there was a lot customers since it's holiday time but yeah they didn't took a long time to process or to serve the food so the 4 star is still for some reason such as the small rushed or some little flaws in management it's still better than others :) arigatou

Since it is pouring outside, this place is a good option for indoor activities with the kids. Quite pricy as it includes the dinosaur exhibit. The dinosaur exhibit was spectacular. The Tengku Tengah Zaharah Mosque, also known as the Floating Mosque, is a stunning architectural marvel in Kuala Terengganu. This mosque boasts a blend of modern and Moorish design elements, featuring marble, ceramics, mosaic works, and concrete paving. Situated above an artificial lagoon, it creates the illusion of floating on water. Built by Sultan Mahmud as a tribute to his mother, this serene sanctuary offers picturesque views and is perfect for photography enthusiasts.
I missed this place so much. I came in the late afternoon to enjoy the view here. The beach area is still under construction, so it’s fenced off. I just took in the evening scenery facing this beautiful mosque. It’s still as stunning as before, though a pang of nostalgia hit me, bringing back old memories. Haha, feeling a bit sentimental here. IASSNSABM. I really do.

Beautiful mosque. Opposite is a beach full of coconut trees. This place is serene and beautiful. Lucky to have two ice cream vendors that sells double cone childhood time Ice cream. The younger vendor was very nice. He let the elder vendor get the business to sell to me instead. Very respectful of him.
Lily O — Google review
Cleanliness of the area surrounding the mosque has deteriorated to a point that many would prefer to skip visiting it. If the authorities don't improve the upkeep, this mosque will no longer be in the list of must visit. However, should you be curious, the mosque is also known as the "floating mosque" of Kuala Ibai. The bright white structure contrasts with the dark waters of a lake, which surrounds the mosque. When the waters are calm, a mirror image of the mosque forms under the actual mosque. There is a park surrounding the mosque. The park is no longer kept in a condition befitting a prime tourist attraction. The unsightly barricade along the Ibai River frontage destroys the picturesque scene. Visitors are turned off. Perhaps it is no longer worth visiting.

This beautiful floating mosque situated along the East Coast Federal Route 3, serves as an enchanting photo spot. Adjacent to the beach, there is a park where visitors can enjoy an even better view of the mosque. During my visit (school holiday), many people were picnicking at the park, creating a lively atmosphere. Upon closer inspection, I noticed some dirty marks on the white facade of the mosque. However, from a distance, the mosque still retains its beauty and charm. It serves as a picturesque landmark that adds to the overall charm of the area.

A beautiful and majestic mosque built in the water that appears floating. The surrounding area is serene and peaceful. Nice scenery, well maintained and clean. There is no shoes shelving. Places are very well labeled and signage. Men and women toilets are located on the left side. Women prayer areas are on the left, located at ground as well as upstairs. Opposite the mosque is a wide beautiful lagoon for leisure, recreation activities and picnic for the local residents and visitors.

An unassuming Chinese restaurant located near the Chinatown arch. Founded in 1964, this almost 60 year old restaurant churns out good old school Chinese dishes as seen by its patronage by locals as well as tourists. Decor is dated, but it adds to the uniqueness of this place. Some of the dishes I would recommend are the Sweet Sour Fried Garupa Fish (highly recommended); Taufoo with Minced Pork (highly recommended); Sweet Potato Leaves with fermented bean sauce; Chicken in Thai Sauce and Squid with Curry Leaves. Food came very fast and service was friendly and efficient. Kudos to the service team who looked like all locals.

Decent food with wide range of cuisines to choose from. I was hoping that they'd use bottled or filtered water for their drinks (ex tea) but it was tap water was used which is OK but there was a slight stink coming from our beverage. Nice place to visit especially for families with kids. The alley is filled with informative displays and tile-made pictures that share touching stories about sea turtles. It's an engaging and educational experience. Although I noticed some litter in the alley, efforts were being made to maintain cleanliness. Despite this, it's clear that someone is trying to keep Turtle Alley clean, and their efforts are commendable. Overall, it’s worth visiting for its educational value and captivating displays if you are in the area.

The food here is absolutely delicious with a true authentic taste — every dish feels carefully prepared and full of flavor. Variety of menu to choose from local authentic and kopitiam cuisine. Service is impressive, fast, and the staff are genuinely attentive and friendly, which makes the dining experience even better. The ambience strikes a nice balance between cozy and lively, creating a great spot whether you’re catching up with friends, enjoying a casual date, or just treating yourself to good food. Perhaps the local neighbourhood's hangout place as I noticed quite a number of table consisted of older generation chatting over their favourite coffee. Menu was extensive ranging from rice, noodles, bread to Western chops & steaks....so it wasn't a surprised when our food took more than an hour to be served although we came in after peak hours(after 3pm). Plus it was a major festive holiday(where almost every other restaurants were closed) so kitchen staff couldn't cope up since they were one of those that operated throughout the holidays. Food was alright but the waiting time didn't do it for me.

Tried the steamed Lekor, the taste was just okay compared to the fried version, which is definitely better. Also tried some local dishes from their best-seller menu: Laksam and Laksa Kuah Merah. The Laksam really impressed me, the taste was unique and special, something I’ve never tried before. I really enjoyed it!
Jehau T — Google review
Came here for dinner with my friends during our visit to Kuala Trengganu. Overall, the food was tasty and enjoyable—while not particularly exciting or surprising, it was satisfying. Portion sizes were just right, and the prices were reasonable. One of the standout dishes was the laksam—a local specialty that I personally recommend. However, it's quite unique in taste, and not everyone may enjoy it; in fact, only about 3 in 5 of us really liked it. Still, it's worth trying if you're open to new flavors.

The cafe offers a mix of typical cafe food and signature dishes from the East Coast, such as laksam, laksa kuah merah, rojak betik Terengganu, and roti paung. Overall, the food tastes decent. Personally, I really liked the laksam. It was creamy, mildly fishy, and rich with coconut milk.

The restaurant had a pleasant ambience and served uniquely memorable dishes. It's conveniently located in Chinatown, adding to its charm. However, our experience was marred by one waitress who behaved quite rudely. Despite noticing that we needed assistance, she repeatedly ignored our attempts to get her attention.

Good food! Tried the laksam, laksa merah, putih and steamed lekor on my recent visit. Liked the sauce of the laksa putih, which tasted like tuna with milk. Town City Food Court 唐城美食中心 is not your typical restaurant, but rather a small food court with 6-7 stalls offering various dishes. The grilled fish and seafood are standout items, complemented by delicious sambal. While the fried Mee Hoon with petai is a unique delight, the char koey tew is just average.
The Bak Kut Teh and fried Kueh Tiaw is very good, every time I come to Kuala Terengganu must eat here

Most of the food quite good, but expect at least 20-30 mins wait because uncle cooked it one by one. I

Situated at the bustling Jalan Kampung Cina, this food court has a good selection of local Chinese food that would not let you down. The Bak Kut Teh is a bit spicy but the taste is really good and resembles those you can get in typical traditional old Chinese stall. The fried Bee Hoon is also a must try as well as other seafood dishes.
Tze T — Google review
For the grill fish and other seafood which is very rightly grill. The sambal is good. The fried Mee Hoon is so special and it goes very well the petai. Char koey tew average only. The juices are good too especially the Dragon fruits. However a bit pricey which I guess it is a famous tourists spot along the KT China town. Limited parking which mean you have to park a long the waterfront and walk. Services may be slow when crowded especially the grilled fish as it take time to grill so be patient. Cleanliness of the shop can further be improved especially the toilet since it is a tourist spot.
CHU W — Google review
Confirmed the noodle soup (tried another stall also same) at chinese restaurant noodle soup is bland. No salt or sweetness in their soup 🤣🤣🤣 have to request lots of soy sauce. Food are not delicious and the seating and tables all quote dirty/old. The cantonese ying yong is sweet. Fried bihun is okay. We came to this restaurant because it is the only available around 3pm ish.

Update on 8 April 2023 There is a new stall selling prawn mee (har mee), penang laksa and jawa mee. Tried their laksa and jawa mee, taste so goood! Definitely will come back again for them! Will try the har mee also next time. Very friendly owner! ______ Tourist spot for food & alcohol. Char kuey teow and bak kut teh are both good. Fried vermicelli from the grilled seafood stall is ok too but abit pricy (the portion is small, RM9 if I didn't remember wrongly). 3 stars because the shop really needs some improvement on its cleanliness. By the way, they allow customers to order Malay satay from the opposite shop.

Today what I want to recommend is the grill seafood stall. The taste is so good and the price is reasonable. Although the enviroment of the food court is not good but worth to walk in and the grill seafood and the fried rice noodle.

When you arrive at Kedai Makan Kak Yah Ikan Bakar, you'll be greeted with a wide array of grilled fish dishes to choose from. One standout option is the perfectly cooked cencaru fish with rich and flavorful sambal. In addition to this, the restaurant also offers delectable options such as beef soup, catfish, fried chicken, and various traditional Terengganu dishes.
DEFINITELY THE BEST LUNCH SPOT IN KUALA TERENGGANU This shop is located near Kuala Ibai. We came during lunch hout and it was packed with people dine in and tapau. They served varieties of lunch dishes. The main star is ikan bakar, it was freshly prepared and charcoal grilled by batches. The fish was grilled with special spicyyyy sambal ( very unique) and must be eaten with air asam.. we also ate singgang, masak lemak sayur, daging belacan, hati goreng and lots of ulam ulaman. The food were appetizing, well seasoned and well balanced, with very authentic kampung taste. They really cooked it from the heart ( masak dari hati yang ikhlas) Guess how much it cost? It cost only RM 22. We were very suprised when the owner gave us the paper, and we asked her.. She genuinely replied "Mok cik halal apo yang kurang apa yang lebih'.. We were touched by the hospitality and genuineness ( is there a word for this? ) from their team and the owner. We prayed that Allah always grant them berkah and calmness always. Amin PS- this place is way better on taste and price than the famous singgang place nearby And also please beat with the heat and the limited spaces due to the overwhelming crowd. Do come as early as 11 to avoid the lunch crowd!

Don't have a variety of veggies. Not recommended if u want to eat something like peria goreng etc. Only has basic veggies like ulam, sayur masak lemak & toge

Wow.. famous place for Ikan Bakar cicah with mix Budu+Sambal belacan very good. Affordable price yet delicous. Rm39 for 5 adults. Like it for the taste kampung style. Parking at your risk. Better find a good parking space.

Variety of food, lauk ulam budu, air asam and sambal belacan. Super packed during lunch hour. Be prepared. They have pretty good system for take away and dine in. The lady owner is superb in calculating the bill for the food. Just choose your meal and go sit down. She will come and total them up.

This place was recommended to us for lunch since we were nearby. Like the rest of the reviewers said, I was extremely taken aback by the price of the food here, it was really cheap, I haven't seen prices like this elsewhere in Malaysia. Certainly not for seafood. And the fishes were fresh and tasty too! They had some kuih near counter and those were good too. However, their "system" can be abit confusing for first-timers, I was lucky my husband spoke the local dialect so we were able to ask around. Super crowded during lunchtime, -1 star for lack of SOP compliance post-covid, most staff were not even wearing masks.

Recommended! taste + price .. awesome! Those who love to eat Ikan Bakar with ulam2x, then this is the right place to enjoy your food.

Whoever loves to try kampung style kind of Lauk2, then u should come and try the ikan bakar & all the dishes here. The taste is so good 😋😋😋. I will definitely be coming back for more since I went at 2.30 so most of the food was finished. Should come again earlier. Those who are fussy with ambience should not come here because the set up is very minimal 🥰🥰🥰

I can confirm the not so hidden rumour. This is the cheapest place to eat ever. 1 kembung, 1 cencaru, 1 patin, 2 fried chicken, 1 helping of lala, ulam-ulam, 1 fish egg, assortment of vegetables and 2 teh o ais limau. Total damage RM22. I can't even brain this. I felt so bad I decided to pay more. Terengganu is the best place to live in.

Seafood restaurant
Seafood Kuala Ibai Bawah Jambatan is a unique dining spot located beneath the bridge in Kuala Ibai Terengganu. It's not just about the delicious seafood offerings, but also the captivating ambiance that makes it a must-visit. The menu boasts various seafood options such as fish, clams, crabs, and squid, all prepared to perfection. The restaurant offers a serene view of the river with boats and crab hunters adding to the picturesque setting.
This was my first time trying this restaurant while traveling to Terengganu with my family, and it was a great experience! - Location: Situated under the Kuala Ibai bridge, right by the river, offering a scenic and peaceful atmosphere. - Parking: Plenty of parking space, making it convenient for visitors. - Dining Area: Spacious with plenty of seating, ensuring a comfortable dining experience. - Must-Try Dishes: The grilled fish and crispy fried squid are highly recommended—fresh, flavorful, and perfectly cooked! - Pricing: Reasonable and well worth it for the quality of food and experience. A great spot to enjoy delicious seafood with family while soaking in the beautiful riverside views! 😊

Overall foods taste is fine with reasonable price. But i think the prawn should cooked with sambal instead of butter milk as the taste too bland.. the place was crowded during weekend with big family reservations. We should ask half the white rice per head as they give too much in a big bowl for 10 people.

✅ Offers an environment with a stunning view of the seaside ✅ For seafood, have to queue in designated space and choose the your item. p/s : ensure to remember your desk number ✅ You should try Sotong Goreng Tepung. Its quite balanced. ✅ Waiter very friendly and kindness also giving us the good suggestions ✅ The place may crowded during weekend due to a lot of reservations ✅ The presence of an ice-cream kiosk provided a sweet addition to the experience ✅ Affordable price tag 💢 Waiting time a bit longer 💢 Less of parking space

Crowded, chaotic, but they do get your order right and the food is awesome as always! 3 dishes are enough for two! You need to choose the food prior to ordering

If you are looking for a tasty & reasonable price of seafood, this is the place. Thumbs up for the food. But every restaurant must also consider the good services towards customers. The servers weren't friendly and very unhelpful. The owner must really train their worker to have some respect for the customers in ensuring better business. Please also update your table no since all orders are based on table no. I had ordered grilled fish (I would say the sambal is very nice), sotong celup tepung ( ordered this after reading the reviews from others and I really love it, super crunchy and tasty) & kerang bakar ( so so). I'm quite satisfied with the food, thumbs up to the kitchen staff!!! I might come back because the food is nice and the price is reasonable

Offers great fresh seafood with reasonable price. Meal is delicious. Plenty of parking space. Just be sure to make a reservation or come early on holiday/ peak seasons else you won't have a table.

OK, so this place is a bit different. Yes the place at first glance is uncomfortable but sit, order and eat. All those feelings goes away and are replaced with a sense of satisfaction of eating seafood by the river mouth. The freshness of their seafood is very good. None frozen. Everything comes straight from the sea, the insides are cleaned well. This was a truly value for money.

Came here for dinner around 7.40 pm. Parking is plenty, and you have space inside and by the roadside. Places started to get crowded around 8 plus, and still not too bad. Ordered nasi and lauk lauk to share with the family. I would order two dishes again: sotong goreng tepung and ikan siakap stim. Delicious! Service was quite alright. We didn’t wait for long. Light and easy dinner overall 😄
