Outdoor Activities
Ngapali Beach is a picturesque sandy beach lined with palm trees, offering the perfect setting for swimming and sunbathing. Visitors can enjoy views of local fishing boats dotting the coastline. The nearby Thandwe market provides an opportunity to experience local culture and pick up some souvenirs. While somewhat isolated, this coastal gem in Myanmar offers a serene escape from the hustle and bustle of more accessible beach destinations in Southeast Asia.
Deserve to be the most beautiful and clean beach in Myanmar. Crystal water around the islands, White sands without garbage, shells on white sands, beautiful sunsets, less crowded and quiet. Relaxed and enjoyed the quiet beach.

This is whiter, bluer and cleaner than Thailand’s beaches, Hawaii, Maldives, and Philippines’s beaches. But Ngapali Beach is underrated in Southeast Asia’s beaches.
Kyisin A — Google review
My journey to Ngapali Beach was a serene escape into Myanmar's coastal paradise. Here are some tips for your visit: Transportation: Fly to Thandwe Airport and then take a short taxi ride to Ngapali Beach. Alternatively, buses from nearby cities are available. Accommodation: Ngapali offers a range of lodging options, from luxury resorts to budget-friendly guesthouses. Book in advance during the high season. Cost: Prices vary, but Ngapali is generally affordable compared to other beach destinations. Local food is reasonably priced. Activities: Besides lounging on the pristine beaches, explore fishing villages, go snorkeling, or take a boat trip to nearby islands. Dress code: Beachwear is appropriate on the beach, but dress modestly when visiting nearby villages or religious sites. Timing: November to April is the best time to visit, with pleasant weather and calm seas. Ngapali Beach is a hidden gem with its clear waters and peaceful ambiance. Enjoy the tranquility and soak up the natural beauty during your stay.

One of the best beaches in Myanmar.the beach is usually crowded with tourists local and foreigners. Previously this beach is a tourist attraction for foreigners from Europe and western countries. But now you will see a few people from Europe and western countries. Now the beach is popular among Chinese people from cross border and local people.
Han W — Google review
It was once in top 5 list of World's most beautiful beaches. Currently being No.13 in that list, it has been popular as ever among Foreigners and Locals Not only the ocean, but also lots of activities to do there like visiting Elephant Camp, Water activities like snorkelling, scuba-diving, Soft Hiking, studying locals' marine life and so on

What a wonderful and beautiful Ngapali Beach! It's the loveliest beach in Myanmar! The seawater is very clean and clear. It is 7 km long with soft white sand. You will see coconut trees along the beach. The sunset view is fabulous. If you don't like crowded beaches, I recommend you to visit there. There are hotels, guest houses and restaurants near the beach. You will be very pleased with this amazing beach. And you will satisfy and be happy during your holidays. You can do water activities such as snorkeling and diving. Pearl island is a nice spot for snorkeling. You will love to see underwater world. If you love fishing, you can also go fishing. Next, you can go trekking and play golf with nine holes. Don't miss to try fresh seafoods. They are delicious. If you have time, you should visit fishing villages.
Mya K — Google review
This is a dream destination. On the front side you have a 3,5 km long arc shaped beach with the sand as long as 100 m wide. On the back side you have the main road with quite a few seafood restaurants that will bring heaven to your tongue. In between the resorts with beautiful little villas just in front of the beach. There is nothing happening there. It is you and yourself. Enjoy and relax. No sound, no parties, no amplifiers, no this and no that. Just very few locals at the beach selling their goods or offering massage. No pressure like in Thailand. They will never disturb you. I stayed only 3 days there (Bayview resort), but if I could, I would stay forever.
Cosmicyellow — Google review
Ngapali Beach is the best place in Myanmar if you want to swim in the Ocean. This fact is also discovered by a lot of tourists in the last years because the development of big and fancy hotels is going rapidly. I was here at the low season, so it means that in my 6 days stay i spend every day walking on the beaches from South the North and back and haven't seen more tourists then 4 people. But i saw a lot of sand and many locals doing daily things like fishing and cutting coconut and collecting glass from the sand beach. I definitely recommend to go by bycicle to the northern end and walk 2 more hours on the rocks and you will be alone with the beautiful sea! ENjoy Ngapali Sunsrise and Sunset!

The island offers clear waters, pristine beaches, and a selection of seafood restaurants serving Rakhine cuisine. Visitors can take local boats to explore the surrounding small islands and enjoy activities such as diving and capturing picturesque moments with their cameras.
Ngapali is really quiet and nice beach. The water is cool and clear. There is no garbages along the beach. You can choice seafood restaurants. You can eat Rakhine foods. There are a lot of small islands. Take a local boat and go to the islands.Pearl island is one of many islands. There is only one restaurant. You can dive and need glasses. Don't forget your camera. Lodge
Nestled along the stunning Ngapali Beach in Myanmar's Rakhine Coastal Region, River Top Lodge offers a delightful escape for travelers seeking both comfort and affordability. This charming hotel features warmly decorated rooms that create a cozy atmosphere, perfect for unwinding after a day of beach adventures. Guests can enjoy an inviting outdoor pool, as well as a terrace restaurant and bar where they can savor delicious meals while soaking up the sun.
Good fairly small hotel at a reasonable price in comparison to the other large resorts. Not right on the beach front but 1 min walk across the road and dedicated free sun loungers on the beach. Pool area is nice and rooms comfortable and very clean. Hotel staff all very friendly and couldn’t do enough to help. Breakfast was average with other places we stayed in Myanmar. Free airport shuttle service was also very handy and removed the stress of arranging a taxi. Nice beach bar/restaurant called Sunset View restaurant just across the road by the beach sun loungers for a cocktail at sunset and some fresh seafood for lunch with friendly local service and better drinks than we had in any of the larger resort bars.
James B — Google review
Nice resort, big rooms and very clean. Staff is helpful. There is a pick up service to and from the airport and sunbeds and umbrellas on the beach. Breakfast has a huge choice. Close to many good seafood restaurants. It also has a swimming pool, however it's non sense not to enjoy the beach (3 minutes walking). Cheaper than the surroundings competitors, but still up to western standards.
Francesco N — Google review
It's one of my favourite places to stay in Ngapali. It is not beachfront but has its own part of the beach just across the road. There are shops and restaurants in the neighbourhood, and the hotel's own restaurant is also pretty good. Rooms are clean and spacious, Wi-Fi is quite good as well (compared to other hotels in Myanmar). The staff is friendly and helpful. I was there twice and plan to come again.
Kamil P — Google review
Nice hotel at very reasonable price if compared with resorts in the nearby. It's not on the beach but you have only cross the street and walk for less than 100 meters to reach it. Really welcoming and helpful staff, clean and wide room, nice breakfast and clean pool. On the beach you have free sunbeds and sunshades in a clean beach. It's in a walking distance to the jade taw village where you could observe fishermen and "drying fishes" women (but take your flip flop as the beach in front the village is really dirty). The Lodge offers free transfer fron and to airport too!

We was gone to ngapali beach with my family at first week of May 2022 and that time is low season of tour. At the time they didn't had enough staff but they would gave full service. i am love their staff friendly face, good room service, good place and nearly with some good restaurant. This hotel is not sea view hotel but so close to go beach in may be 2 minute with walking and the road of beach is infront of hotel.
Htet A — Google review
Good location and breakfast! Clean rooms every day :) Free shuttle to/from airport. On the beach was deck chairs under umbrellas. Of the minuses: the shower always was very hot or very cold... Appeal for people who occupy deck chairs with towels and leave for a long time - don't do this, think about people who wanted free deck chairs! Take your belongings with you!
Stan — Google review
A well managed and reasonable hotel in Ngapalli. We stayed here during the Christmas weekend and were glad to not have a mandatory dinner like other hotels. Breakfast options are decent and they have live egg counter. Pancakes are good here. Enjoyed the Hukkah/Sheesha here one evening. Pool is small but nice. Cleaning stuff comes regularly to clean the rooms. One of the good things is that they provide an area at the beach with beach beds and a bar. That’s one of the best places to sit and enjoy sunset.
Nidhi G — Google review
Have spent 5 nights last January. Very nice hotel with swimming pool. They have seats on the beach just 100 m across the road. The management and staff are very nice, very help full. They are ready to help you and provide the best service they can. A place to recommend

Ngapali Kitchen is a charming and cozy restaurant located on Ngapali Road, offering unspoiled views of Ngapali beach. The simple yet attractive decor provides a perfect setting for romantic meals, making it an ideal choice for couples looking to strengthen their bond. The restaurant serves a varied menu with a focus on seafood at reasonable prices. It is family-run, with the owner taking care of guests while his wife cooks traditional dishes on charcoal.
Coconut seafood curry was a boom! Cute and delicious. The salad was perfect, not too spicy! And the prawns were perfectly cooked! We love this place ❤️

All the dishes are delicious with fair price. Coconut seafood curry is must try!! Staffs are friendly. Toilet is clean. This restaurant is the one I like most during my 4 days stay in Ngapali 🙂

Coconut seafood curry was amazing! It's served in a coconut. Lots a flavor. It's the best curry we've had in Myanmar. Ate there twice and the food was pretty good and affordable. The garlic prawn is pretty delicious as well.

Coconut seafood curry was amazing! It's served in a coconut. Lots a flavor. It's the best curry we've had in Myanmar. We also had a grilled lobster,0.5kg. It was great but too bad it's a bit small for the price we paid for (30,000 kyat)
Claudia F — Google review
Had the coconut curry seafood at the recommendation of everyone else and it was fantastic (It did come with some squid although it’s listed under crab and shrimp dishes in case you don’t like things with tentacles). Juices and smoothies were also pretty tasty. Service, as it is everywhere in Myanmar, was great.

Great taste & must try grilled king prawn & coconut sea food curry
Priya P — Google review
As it is our second week in Myanmar, We can rate their restaurants like pro's . So , lets start with a minus - nice but not the nicest waiteress. But a big plus just after we ordered - the nicest cutlery we have seen in the country, and a biggest peanut bowl for appetizers. And then we got our order (~15min) coconut curry was really good and grilled king prawns where delicious. Unfortunately they had no fresh crab we were hoping for. And after our meals we got some nice juicy watermelon . Overall nice place for a dinner. Update: as I have really enjoyed the dinner, my wife spent half of the night vomitting our dinner out :/

Had the seafood coconut curry, served in a giant hollowed out coconut! Authentic flavors, ever so slightly rounded off but very close. Warm, friendly staff. highly recommended.

Restaurant
Nestled at the edge of Ngapali Beach, PVI Restaurant offers a stunning dining experience that perfectly complements its breathtaking surroundings. As you approach this gem, you'll notice a long jetty extending over the water, leading to an ambiance that feels upscale yet remains budget-friendly. The restaurant is an ideal spot to soak in the mesmerizing sunsets while palm trees sway gently nearby, creating a serene atmosphere that's far from crowded.
PVI Restaurant (short for Pleasant View Islet Restaurant) is perched on an islet just off Ngapali Beach. You can walk across at low tide, or at high tide hop on a small shuttle raft operated by local youth to reach the restaurant . Best place for serene ocean views and an unforgettable sunset ambiance

A very beautiful seafood restaurant in Ngapali with amazing sunset view from PVI Island. Drinks and food are reasonable price and customer service is great. It is a great place for romantic dinner for couples during honeymoon. People also celebrate private events in this restaurant.

Cool restaurant with an awesome view of the ocean. The view is reason to come here, and it was really nice during the sunset. The food was good, but nothing special compared to other places in the area. The service was just okay, they forgot a few things for me.

Location is terrific. At high tide there is a shuttle raft to the beach towed by local boys. Food is good, but expect western prices. There is happy hour from 4 p.m. until 6 p.m. The sun sets behind Pearl Island.
D. V — Google review
One of the best located restaurant at the Ngapali Beach. This restaurant is a small Island :) but this unfortunately comes with the price (of food and drinks). The high prices level (comparing to other prices in Mjanmar) are mitigated by beautiful view at the sea, especially during sunset. I would definitely recommend this place for the evening time with someone special.
Cezary K — Google review
This place is worth it for the view alone. I walked here across the water as the tide was still low. Lovely smoothies, fresh salads and cocktails. You can see the water so blue and clear against the rocks and a gorgeous view across ngapali beach. Service was quick and friendly.
Fabiola E — Google review
Tourist prices for okay food but I believe most of the cost is for the setting which is amazing. Great view with a beautiful sunset on an off-to-the-distance cliffside makes for a picturesque dinner. Would recommend for that 10/10 Instagram shot that gets all the followers (Heh). I didn't get any photos without my family, though, cuz it was that nice. Getting to the place seems difficult as you have to cross a little bit of ocean. If crossing before low tide at 7pm, it'll leave you a bit wet when getting there. I started at 5:30pm and the tide was at my knees, or thighs with waves. We talked to some others that took off their pants to cross the waters before putting it back on for dinner. Nighttime is nice with low light setting. With the tide coming down at around 7pm, a sand path revealed itself for our walk back to the hotel.

Seafood restaurant
Min Thu Restaurant is a family-run establishment that offers a delightful dining experience with its fresh and instantly prepared seafood dishes. The menu features a variety of delectable options such as prawn salad, avocado salad, sashimi, sweet and sour seafood curry, and raw vegetable fried. Guests can also enjoy traditional cooking on charcoal by the owner's wife. The coconut curries are highly recommended, especially the prawn and fish varieties.
Love this place! We ate there several times during our stay in Ngapali. Why? The food is excellent and extremely well priced. Anything from fried rice to fresh seafood is better prepared than the expensive hotel kitchens around. Try the steamed seafood (crab, lobster or prawns) or the prawn cashew with rice. Do make a reservation, this place is very popular with locals and tourists.
Katie B — Google review
We had dinner for 10 people. The staff are friendly and polite. The owner is friendly as well. The food are delicious and the price is more expensive than the other restaurants. The seafood was fresh and masala crab was amazing. We love it! However, although we ordered a lot, they didn't even give us some fruits as a complimentary like the other restaurants. They claimed that fruits like watermelons and bananas were not seasonal yet. That's quite funny because we had these fruits in all the other restaurants we ate. If you're coming here during monsoon, better call ahead and ask them if they are open. Normally, they are open from October 5th. This year, because of many enquiries, they opened a bit earlier.
Hnin D — Google review
Seafood here are delicious. Service is good but need to improve compared with other restaurants in ngapali. Besides seafood, you can also order a wide choices of drinks beer alcohol etc. They also provide delivery services and need to give extra charges depending on the distance. Price is also fair.

Best restaurant in Ngapali Beach area. I would highly recommend making a dinner reservation ahead of time as it is a very popular dinner spot among tourists. We ordered the prawn coconut curry, fried barracuda fillet, coconut rice and red snapper sashimi. The staff at Min Thu are very accommodating and even put together a vegetable coconut curry for us (even though there’s not one on the menu.) The seafood is SO FRESH. When at Min Thu, you absolutely must try the sashimi. Thank you to the staff for a wonderful dining experience ❤️
Kerri A — Google review
Really nice food. Coconut curries (tried the prawn and fish) were really nice. Lobster was expensive by Myanmar standards (35k kyat) but was very fresh and chips that came with it were superb (like English chipshop chips but extra crispy so even better). Tea leaf and avocado salads were also very nice and fresh. Prices were good (meal for 5 including seafood cost 85k in total), service was pretty fast and plenty of fans meant the place wasn't too hot. Also didn't notice any mosquitoes.

Min Thu is the owner and goes to a lot of trouble to ensure you have a good time and get the food you like. I affectionately nicknamed Min Thu "Minty" he loves it and if you get to the beach early enough ( About 5am) you can get to see the fish that Minty will be serving that day. Beautiful.

Ngapali Beach in Myanmar is a stunning destination known for its pristine white sandy beaches, clear turquoise waters, and breathtaking sunsets. It's a popular spot for both locals and international tourists seeking tranquility away from city life. The Ngapali Golf Club offers an amazing experience with its well-maintained greens and fairways that wind through small hills, wooden bridges over mangrove forests, and beautiful sea beach views.

Amazing golf club at Ngapali beach. But not only sea beach view, but also climbing small hills and decents, crossing with wooden small bridges over mangrove forests gave me different feelings. Greens are well maintained inspite of small income from few players per day. Fairway grasses are covering whole course, but longer than it should be.
Uchit S — Google review
Ngapali is about relaxing and enjoying the sun, but other activities include taking trips on local fishing boats, Kayaking, snorkeling or scuba diving amongst the brightly colored fish, and cycling or E-bike (but Not allowance motor biking down the beach and Ngapali beach region ) around some of the local villages, to find centre website. Ngapali also has an 18-hole golf course which is located between the main beach resorts and the airport. Surfing is passing during the monsoon season, which is the quietest time of year in Ngapali. This can be a lovely time of year to visit, but the choice of hotels is restricted- and it can rain for extended periods of time. Also, swimmers should be aware that currents can be dangerously strong at this time of year.
Thet P — Google review
Not a great course, but playable and definitely an interesting place to play with nice views. The first issue was that I was told they had golf carts, which they don't. We borrowed clubs which were a bit old, but decent. On the course the driver head came off, which I didn't think much of seeing as the club was pretty weathered. It didn't break when my dad swung or after, it just somehow broke. At the end of the round they claimed my father (62 and was only able to play 3 holes) broke the club and tried to charge us $50 USD. I talked them down to 25,000 MMK. This was a hustle- the club had been struck against stones and was is bad condition, the shaft also had tape on it, indicating some issue with the club prior. Play at your own risk- some people get too greedy at times.

Restaurant
Nestled right on the beach, Beautiful Sunset Restaurant offers an idyllic setting to soak in breathtaking sunset views while sipping on a refreshing watermelon mojito. The menu features delightful options like a perfectly ripe avocado salad paired with juicy tomatoes and sweet red onions. For seafood lovers, the warm octopus salad is a must-try, and the grouper is incredibly fresh, accompanied by al dente vegetables and rice that complement each dish beautifully. It's truly a dining experience that captures both flavor and ambiance!
Located on the beach, perfect for watching the sunset with a watermelon mojito. I had the avocado salad, perfectly ripe with tomato and sweet red onion. The octopus salad was served warm, fantastic, and the grouper incredibly fresh was served with al denete side of veggies and rice.

Restaurant
Nestled along the stunning Ngapali Beach, The Green Umbrella is a must-visit seafood restaurant that captures the essence of Myanmar's coastal charm. Known for its crystal-clear waters and serene sandy shores, this beach destination is perfect for those seeking relaxation and delicious cuisine. While reaching Ngapali can be a bit challenging without flying, once you arrive, you'll find yourself enchanted by the local atmosphere. The Green Umbrella stands out with its affordable menu options starting at around USD 2.
I first visited this place in January 2021, when it was one of few restaurants opened during the lockdown. I went there for dinner almost every evening of my stay, and since then, I keep coming back whenever I'm in Ngapali. They offer fresh and good seafood made in Rakhine, Bengali, and international style. There are also some vegetarian or chicken options. The staff is super friendly. If you go there, finish your meal with a fried banana; it's one of the best I've ever had.

Waited for 20 mins to have our food to be served and it was cold when we have it. Tastewise it was okay. Grilled small prawn outshined than other dishes. Would give four stars if the staffs can be more friendly to the local other than foreigners.

Excellent service combined with great seafood; clean and nice place to sit outside

We had delicious chicken and vegetarian curries here, with good, friendly service. The waiters were attentive, friendly and communicative. The menu has a wide range of dishes, and the fish that others were earrings looked and smelled delicious! During the evening, there was a constant stream of people coming & going, majority were tourists of course. Enjoyable night dining for us.

Cooking width is effective on outdoor tables. It stinks. Sometimes it takes 2 hours to cook. It's torn

Came back several times. Excellent members of stuff. Seafood is highly recommended (fish curry) but lobster in particular. Always fresh if you order a day in advance.

This place was our favourite out of all the restaurants along the beach. It's true, it pays to be early or you may be faced with a long wait but the owner and his family could not do enough for us. We stayed in the Thande Beach Hotel for a week and ate here 3 nights in a row as, we noticed, did others sitting at neighbouring tables. We chatted to the owners and learnt a lot about local life. If you ask them on the day before to try and get a particular type of seafood that you like, they will try and get it for you and keep a table free.

This place was a recommendation from our hotel and we came back three times. Food is amazing and the service is excellent. Kitchen is clean, like juice is delicious and the seafood is fresh. Definitely recommend going

Nestled in the beautiful Ngapali beach, Mr. June Restaurant is a delightful open-air dining spot that truly shines in the evenings when the heat subsides and crowds are minimal. This charming eatery, which has quickly gained popularity since its recent opening, offers an impressive seafood plate featuring fish fillet, king prawn, squid, and mixed vegetables—all prepared with exceptional skill by a chef who previously worked at a renowned hotel restaurant.
The food there is so good, especially the seafood. Everything is fresh & delicious. Worth every penny. This one is better than some expensive restaurants. Must come here if you are in Ngapali.

You have to go there! Wonderful restaurant with amazing food. We went there everyday. Everything is very fresh, delicious and nicely served. Best squid I have ever had, fantastic fish, all side dishes are great (amazing avocado salad). Everything is perfect! They also serve hummus with bread as a starter, very tasty! Totally recommended!!

Mr. June was the best restaurant during my week in Ngapali. The restaurant is open air and can get a bit hot, so I would recommend coming in the evening. Around 5pm it is not crowded and I had no trouble getting a seat. I ordered Mr. June's seafood plate, which has a fish fillet, king prawn, squid, and mixed vegetables. I also tried the tuna tartare and fish carpaccio. All of these dishes were fantastic, and at a really fair price. The staff are very friendly and spoke English well. A must try in Ngapali.

What an awesome place! We stayed in Ngapali beach a few days recently and we discovered this new restaurant (only opened for a few months as the owner told us) by chance, and we are really glad we did. Fresh seafood bought daily from market a couple steps from the door, really good cooking and presentation (both the owner/chef and his wife come from the well-known and considered restaurant at Bayview hotel), friendly and helpful staff and low prices. Could not ask for more... Four days we stayed in Ngapali, four days we ate at Mr. June!

So tasty and very friendly and attentive service from the whole team. Beyond that the always smiling man speaks very good English. The food is phenomenal. You always get a super tasty hummus with bread on the house. Sometimes we finished it after two minutes and they refilled it immediately 😄 We were there several times, and everything was delicious. Thai Curry, tomato salad, grilled squid, vermicelli with sea food.. water in my mouth while writing this. Besides the food what impressed us most was the service. One night we went there with bicycles. He offered us to follow us with his motorbike because we had no lights ❤️
