Bodies of Water
Bhulla Taal, located in Lansdowne, is a serene man-made lake surrounded by hilly lawns and trees. It is a popular attraction for both tourists and locals, offering waterside paths, boat rentals, and serving as a great picnic spot. The lake was created to promote tourism in the area and has become a favorite destination for families and kids. Visitors can enjoy various activities such as boating, archery, trampoline jumping, and more.
Good small lake and garden to walk around. In peak season, waiting time for a boat ride may be around 30-40 minutes but if you do not want a boat ride then walking around is really good.
Ritesh S — Google review
Good place for family and couples. It's colorful place. So many points to click beautiful and colorful pictures and reels. Tickets prices are 100 per person without boating. With boating 250 per person.
Sudheer K — Google review
Bhulla Taal is a small, artificial lake surrounded by lush greenery it’s clean, peaceful, and nice for a short outing. Apart from the lake with ducks and fish (fish feed is available for ₹10), they also have rabbits, hamsters, and some birds, which kids and animal lovers will enjoy. The ticket prices are quite high ₹250 per person including boating, which feels expensive for what’s offered. Without boating, it’s ₹100, and defence personnel are charged ₹50, which is reasonable. They also have archery, a trampoline, and swings, which are extra ₹100 each, and kids really seem to enjoy them. There’s free parking, which is convenient, but overall, while the place is pleasant for a brief visit, the pricing could be more reasonable.

Review: Bhulla Lake, Lansdowne ⭐⭐⭐☆☆ (3/5) Bhulla Lake in Lansdowne is a decent spot for a short visit, especially if you're exploring the area for the first time. However, if you've already been to more popular hill stations like Nainital, this place might not feel very impressive in comparison. The entry fee is ₹50 per person, which feels a bit steep considering what’s offered. Boating costs an additional ₹150, and every other ride inside the premises has separate charges as well. So, it can quickly add up and may not feel entirely worth the price. The lake and its surroundings are clean, well-maintained, and quite peaceful. It's a pretty place to relax for a while, click some pictures, or enjoy a quiet boat ride. But the experience is fairly limited, and the overall vibe doesn’t quite justify the entry fee. Parking is also limited and chargeable, which is another downside. Overall, it’s good for a one-time visit if you’re in Lansdowne, but not a must-see destination. If you’ve already experienced more vibrant or scenic spots like those in Nainital, Bhulla Lake might feel underwhelming.
Aakash S — Google review
Only if you have kids Not that big, artificial and maybe you can spends sometime Other activities like bow and arrow etc. Neat and clean. The restaurant outside is expensive and we did not like the food.
Mahesh N — Google review
Bhull Tal, Lansdowne is a beautiful and peaceful spot, perfect for spending a relaxing day with family and friends. Surrounded by lush greenery, the lake is clean, calm, and well-maintained. Boating here is a wonderful experience, and the small park with statues and seating areas makes it even more enjoyable. It’s an ideal place for photography, picnics, and simply soaking in nature’s beauty.
Raza H — Google review
Bhulla Taal is a small lake in the middle of Lansdowne, it offers good views with decent flora and fauna, Pedal boat rides are 100 rs. Extra for 15 minutes. Please note that sometimes it can get crowded and then you will not be enjoying the views, I personally felt that there were many areas of improvement in the maintenance of the lake. The authorities, along with collecting the ticket money should also improve on the amenities and the overall maintenance of the park. Other activities inside the park are chargeable separately like archery. Over all it's a good experience if you have nothing else to do in Lansdowne.
Prashant K — Google review
Bhulla Tal, also known as Bhulla Lake, is a charming man-made lake located just 1 to 2 kilometers from the heart of Lansdowne, Uttarakhand. Constructed and maintained by the Indian Army, this serene spot is dedicated to the young Garhwali soldiers of the Garhwal Rifles who contributed to its creation. The name “Bhulla” translates to “younger brother” in the local Garhwali language, reflecting the community’s affection for the youth involved in its development . Despite its modest size, Bhulla Tal offers a tranquil environment ideal for relaxation and leisurely activities. The lake is surrounded by well-maintained gardens and shaded seating areas, providing visitors with picturesque views. A notable feature is the small overbridge that spans the lake, offering an excellent vantage point for photography and appreciation of the surroundings . Boating is a popular activity here, with duck-shaped paddle boats available for rent. The boating experience is both enjoyable and affordable, making it accessible for families and couples alike. Additionally, the area includes a children’s park equipped with swings and play structures, a bamboo machan, and fountains that enhance the scenic beauty of the locale . Visitors can also explore a small souvenir shop, a café offering light refreshments, a herbal plant nursery, and an enclosure housing rabbits, adding to the charm of the place. These amenities make Bhulla Tal not just a spot for relaxation but also a place where one can engage with nature and enjoy simple pleasures . The lake is open to visitors from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM daily, except on Wednesdays when it remains closed. The entry fee is modest, and boating charges are additional, typically around ₹50 per person . Given its proximity to the town center, Bhulla Tal is easily accessible on foot or by a short drive, making it a convenient destination for a quick getaway. In summary, Bhulla Tal is a delightful spot that offers a peaceful retreat amidst nature. Its well-kept environment, coupled with various recreational facilities, makes it an ideal location for a leisurely visit lasting about an hour. Whether you’re seeking a quiet place to unwind or a scenic spot to enjoy with family and friends, Bhulla Tal provides a refreshing experience in the serene hills of Lansdowne.

Lansdowne Trip Travel Café is a charming spot with vibrant interiors and a retro feel of an old traditional Indian home. The café offers limited but fresh and delicious food options, including lip-smacking maggi. It's located near the old St. Mary's church, with limited parking space nearby. Visitors can enjoy both vegetarian and non-vegetarian dishes in this hidden gem of Lansdowne town.
Nestled in the hills of the sleepy quaint twon of Lansdowne, at a stones throw distance from St. Marys church , this cafe is a perfect and brilliant option for those who wants to relax have a different ambience and savour some excellent continental food. Well what to say about this cafe. Its so beautiful, with a unique thoughtful interiors, breathaking views of the mountains and some mind blowing food. The menu card is short but carefully curated with home made pastas, burgers, pizzas, wraps and different kind pf mocktails. And each food is so authentic . I cant get enough of this place. A special shout out to the owners Amit and Shipra who left their steady corporate jobs to follow their passion. It takes a lot to do that. Kudos to both of them for such a creation of food, decor and soul !
Swastik B — Google review
Located near St Mary's church, chances are you might miss its entrance due to it being very subtle on the road side. But once you reach here, the ambience is quite classic with an amazing view outside the windows too. Food is of good quality, but priced on a higher side. A must visit for Lansdowne trip!

Absolutely loved this place! The moment I stepped in, I was blown away by the vintage decor and cozy, artistic vibe. Every corner is packed with character — from retro radios to quirky furniture and beautiful wall art, it’s like stepping into a creative time capsule. What made the experience even better? The food was absolutely delicious. Fresh, flavorful, and served with care — I couldn’t stop eating! It gets quite busy, so I’d definitely recommend reserving a table before your visit to avoid waiting. Perfect spot to chill, have conversations, and just enjoy good vibes. Will definitely be coming back. Highly recommend!

Rating for 5 stars for amazing ambience . You would be feel mesmerising the kind of set up they have done . It’s artistic at every corner . Food options are limited .however it won’t bother you at all by spending as much as time there with loved ones . PS: pls carry cash as there is no network and secondly no car parking to the cafe . You have to find yourself some spaces near to the Church next door . Must go place in lansdawn

Review as of June 14: This place is 200 meters from St Mary's church. It is definitely a must visit and the best cafe in town. As you enter the cafe you can't help but notice antique things that adorn the shelves, quirky furniture. You are greeted by a warm smile and given a hand written menu. It is full of stories - Eg Anupam Kher visited them and gave them recipe of his favourite French Toast and its part of the menu They employ locals and encourage visitors to speak in Hindi so that they can understand. Service is awesome I liked the fact that whenever a celebrity visits them they actually put a paper taped to the chair with the name of the celebrity The view from the Window is breath taking. Simply wow. They have two super healthy and big roosters I had their Pizza and Chicken Momos and it was delicious and filling. Do visit them, int would be a highlight of your visit.

It was just fabulous... their service, food & the vibe was absolutely perfect. Its a must-go cafe. The decor collection was very antique & tranquillizing. It just felt very peaceful & calming.
Shrestha R — Google review
Big thanks to Mrs. Shipra and Mr. Amit for arranging this lovely experience! I had requested them to book a lunch for our group, and they thoughtfully figured out the best time for us. This café is truly a gem — probably the only good one in Lansdowne. We were a group of 16, and they do take pre-bookings, which worked out perfectly. The ambiance was warm and welcoming, and the food? Absolutely fantastic. I think we ordered almost everything on the menu, and not a single dish disappointed us. The café isn't just about the food — it’s about the whole experience. They genuinely want every guest to enjoy it to the fullest, which is why arriving on time for your booking is important (and totally fair). Highly recommend visiting if you’re in Lansdowne. Great vibes, great food, and even better hospitality!
Aparna C — Google review
Very bad Food. Menu is hand written but the price as per food quality is really bad. We as guests at their cafe found owner who was sitting at counter on the left when enter the cafe Mr. amit bit rude and unpleasant. He continues to make face when we requested cold coffee to be less sweet and pasta to have little more veggies. To place the order one have to go to Mr Amit table which is fine but he is not guest friendly person and restrict the people when they r chatting slowly in their group on food table. There are much better food options in lansdown. This cafe needs to look into hospitality warmness and good food options with reasonable pricing.

St. Mary's Church in Lansdowne is a tranquil Protestant church dating back to 1896, offering visitors multimedia exhibits on local military history. The church, constructed in 1985 by Col A H B Hume of Royal Engineers, has been transformed into a museum showcasing pre-independence photographs. Once a renowned preaching center, the church now stands as a historical landmark and popular tourist attraction in Lansdowne.
Review as of 14 June 2025: Beautiful British era church which is now being maintained by the Garhwali Regiment and they have done a good job. It has been converted to the museum and you can see photos. The grand arched entryways is truly magnificence of St. Mary's is revealed. Timings: 9 am–12 pm, 3–6 pm You would need to remove your shoes as you enter It is quite Peaceful and Beautiful. It is close to Tip-in-Top point and 200 meters away is the wonderful Trip Traveller's Cafe. When you walk out of the church boundary and look to your left, you will find an old hut -It will remind you of the hut you used to draw as a kid. There are no tickets. You can make donations to a box that is placed - Proceeds go to maintaining the church.

It's a really small old church which is I would say not maintained really well how it should be. It has been converted to a museum now. You will find a little description board about some history of the church and inside the church walls, you will find some old pictures during British era when some marriages happened during that time. This church in one the way to one of few tourist spots and so you can stop by and spend few minutes here.

🌟🌟🌟🌟⭐ (4/5) A beautiful viewpoint in Lansdowne that truly lives up to its name – Tip-in-Top! This place is a must-visit if you're exploring Lansdowne. Located at one of the highest points in the town, Tip-in-Top offers stunning panoramic views of the surrounding hills and valleys. On a clear day, you can even spot distant snow-capped peaks, making it a dream spot for nature lovers and photographers. The atmosphere here is calm, peaceful, and perfect for spending some quality time amidst nature. Whether you're visiting with friends, family, or solo – it's a great place to just relax, soak in the beauty, and take a break from city life. Mornings and evenings are especially magical with the soft golden light falling over the hills. 🎟️ There is an entry fee of ₹20 per person, which is very nominal considering the experience you get. 🅿️ Parking is available, but it's charged at ₹60 – which is slightly on the higher side, but the area is safe and well-managed. There is a restaurant/café at the location as well, which is decent in terms of ambience, but honestly, it is a bit overpriced. So if you're planning to eat here, be prepared for higher-than-average rates. It might be a better idea to grab a light snack and enjoy your main meals in the main town area. There are benches and open spaces where you can sit and enjoy the view. It’s not a very large spot, but definitely a serene one. You can easily spend 1–2 hours here just enjoying the breeze and the scenic beauty. Pro tip: Visit early morning or late afternoon to avoid crowds and enjoy the best views. All in all, Tip-in-Top is definitely one of Lansdowne’s top attractions and well worth your time. If you're in town, don’t miss it!

Market
Lansdowne Market is a vibrant and charming place where visitors can explore an array of local handicrafts, souvenirs, and woolen garments. The market also offers a delightful selection of street food to indulge in. Known for its diverse range of products, the market caters to various needs including fresh produce, meat, seafood, household items, clothing, and electronics. Customers appreciate the high quality and freshness of the goods available at competitive prices.
Well, we visited this month and we didn't find any rush. So if you are planning to visit the Landsdowne then make note of few things like 1) Make sure you don't book your rooms through Agoda or any other apps for Landsdowne. The best way to get a room is to visit the place and you can enquire for rooms in any resort and you can also grab the best discounts. Online platforms will charge you much higher than offline reservations. I made a mistake and I had suffered along with my family. Rest , once you enter the market you will have to pay a 45 rupees Landsdowne parking fee. It's moreover a development fee. Right from there you can visit Tip and Top. And the entry fee is 20 rupees per adult and if you have kids it's free entry for the kid. On the other hand, you will also find a restaurant within tip and top. It's a little costly as we all know tourist places used to have premium access even though it's not normal for us.

Nestled in the heart of Oak Town, Flavor Tadka Restaurant is a delightful culinary stop that you simply can't miss. As the first eatery at the bustling main market, it offers a cozy atmosphere with seating for around 18-20 guests. While the menu may not be extensive, it features both vegetarian and halal non-vegetarian options that are reasonably priced. The momos and chicken curry have garnered positive feedback for their taste and generous portions.
We had chicken changeji and chicken methi malai and both were unbelievably very tasty, Dal tadka and garlic naan was also very good, chicken momo was yummy , owner is very good.

Worst restaurant in lansdowne.food is tasteless.momos were over spicy and fell like rubber.remaining things which our group of 15 persons tried was waste. The waiter and owner don't know how to talk to customers.we requested for allowing samosa from outside as kids were insisting. Instead of politely informing that outside eatables are not allowed they started talking at high pitch and told us that the same is not allowed if you understand English. The audacity the owner had while saying that it is the management decision for such a small shop was unamusing. Bad manners at its heights calling tourists illiterate reflects how learned and educated you are. Such ppl in the India where guests are treated equivalent as gods . I wonder how he behaves with foreign tourists.

You can have veg or non veg (halal), both are equally good and moderately priced. Ample space to seat around 18-20 people. Parking your vehicle is not an issue. Been there twice, once during lockdown when the seating was not allowed inside and second time it was on 8th June 2022.

We Arrived in town on 11th July and parked car new Tadka. Went in and ordered mix veg, kadhai paneer and tawa roti. Mix veg was half cooked with no taste. We never had that bad panner sabhi ever. Paneer sabji was full of Onion and onion was not cooked at all. In fact we felt that we are having onion sabji. Tawa roti was full of maida… Never expected a restaurant at prime location can serve such sub quality food… None of us like food at all.

A good Cafe in tip in top...nice snacks ...masala Maggi...but view can be more better..as it is enclosed one...

Good ambience, nice view of the snow clad mountains. But pathetic service. Even for soup, they took more than 30 minutes when it was half empty. For proper lunch, even more. Attaching price list as well, reasonable rates of food items.

Shri Tadkeshwar Dham Mandir, nestled in the serene mountains near Lansdowne, is a captivating Hindu temple dedicated to Lord Shiva. Surrounded by majestic pine and cedar trees, this spiritual haven offers visitors a tranquil escape from the chaos of daily life. The journey to the temple takes about two hours and involves a short downhill walk on a path lined with corrugated sheets. While it can get crowded at times, especially during peak seasons, the peaceful atmosphere makes every effort worthwhile.
A Truly Spiritual and Peaceful Experience Visiting Tadkeshwar Mahadev Temple was a truly unforgettable experience. Nestled high up in the mountains and surrounded by dense, towering pine trees, the temple is a perfect blend of serenity and natural beauty. The peaceful atmosphere, fresh mountain air, and the sounds of nature create a sense of deep mindfulness and tranquility. It's not just a religious site but a retreat for anyone looking to reconnect with nature and find inner peace. Highly recommended for those who love nature, calmness, and spiritual vibes.

Tarkeshwar Dham Temple in Lansdowne, Uttarakhand, is an absolutely divine and peaceful destination that fills the heart with serenity. Surrounded by dense deodar and pine forests, the temple offers a truly spiritual experience in the lap of nature. Dedicated to Lord Shiva, it radiates positive energy and calmness, making it a perfect place for meditation and reflection. The sound of bells, rustling leaves, and gentle mountain breeze create an atmosphere of pure tranquility. The temple’s architecture is simple yet soulful, beautifully blending with its natural surroundings. Visiting Tarkeshwar Dham feels less like a trip and more like a spiritual retreat a place where one can disconnect from the world and reconnect with inner peace. It’s undoubtedly one of the most sacred and scenic spots in Lansdowne, a must-visit for anyone seeking divine blessings and natural beauty together.

Probably the best part of Landsdowne day tour, its about 40km from Landsdowne and takes abt. 2 hours to reach, and it gets very crowded and you may have to walk a bit to reach it, if crowd is much. Although place is cool throughout the day, better to visit early in summers. its about 100m walk downhill and path is covered with corrugated sheets. This Temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva and is probably the only one in the area with a statue instead of Lingam. Extremely peaceful and serene place. We went on saturday and there was a bhandara with Poori, Potato gravy and halwa, which was piping hot and wonderful. There are huge trees and few have fallen down, makes for excellent pics. this area has wild Bichoo Grass or scorpion plant, which if you brush by, will give stinging sensation for sometime (pic attached)

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ A truly serene and beautiful temple. 🌿🙏 Located downhill, surrounded by tall pine trees, the atmosphere is peaceful and refreshing. I visited during the Shravan month on a Monday morning around 11 am — it wasn’t crowded, which made the experience even more special. The walk to the temple is scenic, and during monsoon, the greenery makes it absolutely magical. Perfect place for peace, devotion, and connecting with nature. Highly recommended for anyone visiting the area.

🌟🌟🌟🌟⭐ (4.7/5) A divine escape into the lap of nature – Tarkeshwar Mahadev Temple is truly a magical experience! Located high up in the hills near Lansdowne, Tarkeshwar Mahadev Temple is one of the most serene and spiritually powerful places I’ve ever visited. Surrounded by dense forests of towering deodar (cedar) trees, the temple exudes a mystical charm that instantly calms your mind and soul. It's not just a religious site – it's an experience in itself. The temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva, and the atmosphere here is deeply peaceful. Unlike most temples where you often find noise and crowds, here you’re greeted with silence, fresh mountain air, and the subtle sounds of nature – birds chirping, wind rustling through the trees, and distant temple bells. The setting is surreal, like something out of a Himalayan folk tale. 🚗 Reaching the temple is comfortable – the roads are in very good condition, especially for a hilly route. You can drive your car all the way to the top. The drive itself is scenic and enjoyable for those who love winding mountain roads. No issues even for family cars like Ertiga, Kia, etc. 🅿️ Parking is free, and there’s enough space available. To reach the main temple from the parking area, there is a short uphill trek through the forest. It’s not too difficult and completely worth it. As you walk through the tall trees with filtered sunlight falling on the forest floor, it feels almost meditative. The temple complex is simple, clean, and beautifully maintained. You’ll find people meditating, offering prayers, or just sitting in silence – and that’s the best part. The sense of calm and spiritual energy here is something that stays with you long after you leave. If you’re visiting Lansdowne, Tarkeshwar Mahadev is a must-add to your itinerary – whether you’re a devotee, nature lover, or just someone looking for peace. It’s one of those rare places where spirituality and nature come together in perfect harmony. Highly recommended!

Amazing place to visit with family and loved ones. Quiet place with full of natures marvel. No rush and no crowd. Must visit here once in a life .

Tarkeshwar Mahadev is an ancient place situated in a valley about 30km off Lansdowne. The approach is quite scenic. We went under the impression that it was a Shiva temple but its dedicated to a saint who, in his time, fought against evil and used to punish the wrong doers. However, in an Uttarakhand Tourism inscription at the place it was mentioned that Parvati meditated here to "get Lord Shiva"! The person there told me that the place gets crowded during navraatris and there's an ashram very close by where one can stay for a few days by paying a few hundred rupees per day. There are very few eateries on the way to this place so make sure you have your own tit bits to consume. Although the ubiquitous maggie is available at the temple parking place. From the parking to the temple its a few hundred meters walk downhill. Saw an old person being taken in a wheelchair so make sure you are able to walk up and down with ease. But its not that big an issue. Just remember its a spiritual - religious place and not a touristy one. So go there for the peace and quiet, without expecting much.

Tadkeshwar Temple is a serene and peaceful place that offers a spiritual retreat away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. The temple, located amidst lush pine trees, creates a tranquil atmosphere that is perfect for contemplation and prayer. The cool shade from the towering trees adds to the peaceful ambiance, making it a wonderful place to connect with nature while also engaging in spiritual practices. The best part of the visit was the lack of heavy crowds, which made our Darshan experience much more personal and calming. The less crowded environment allowed for a more intimate and peaceful experience, making it easy to connect with the divine. The temple itself has historical significance, as it is known for its deep-rooted connection to Lord Shiva and is an important pilgrimage spot for devotees. The architecture and the surroundings resonate with spiritual energy, adding to the temple's sacred charm. *Things to know before visiting:* It’s important to dress modestly when visiting Tadkeshwar Temple. For women, covering the body with proper attire is a must, as respect for the temple's sacredness is essential. This also helps maintain the decorum of the holy site.

Santoshi Mata Mandir, located in Lansdowne, is a small temple dedicated to Goddess Santoshi and is known as a stunning sunset point. Situated at a hilltop in Bonda village, the temple offers a peaceful atmosphere and breathtaking views. Visitors can capture beautiful photographs of the sunset from this vantage point. While there are stairs to climb to reach the temple, it's worth the effort for the serene experience it offers.
Shri Santoshi Mata Mandir, located near Tip-Top Point, is a serene and spiritually uplifting destination that left a lasting impression on me. Visiting this temple was a truly delightful experience, offering not only a sense of peace but also the chance to enjoy the surrounding natural beauty. The temple is exceptionally clean and well-maintained, which immediately adds to its charm. It is evident that great care is taken to ensure the comfort of visitors. Beyond its religious importance, the temple is also a famous spot for tourists due to its spectacular and serene atmosphere and stunning views of Shivalik ranges, especially at sunrise and sunset. Its proximity to other attractions like Tip-n-Top Point makes it a part of the broader tourism experience in Lansdowne. Beautiful experience. The top view from where Mata showers her blessings is fulfilled by a mesmerizing sunset or sunrise. The temple is well maintained, just a small request from the management to increase the lighting conditions inside the prayer room. The Garhwali Museum, also known as the Darwan Singh Museum or Garhwal Regimental Museum, is a must-visit attraction in Lansdowne. Named after Darwan Singh, a brave soldier of the Garhwal Rifles during World War I, this museum showcases historic weaponry, furnishings, animal skins and various artifacts belonging to the British Garhwal Rifles.
Review of Garhwali Museum, Lansdowne ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ (4/5) My visit to the Garhwali Museum, also known as the Darwan Singh Museum, in Lansdowne, Uttarakhand, was an enriching dive into the region’s military and cultural heritage. Located near the Parade Ground in the heart of this tranquil hill station, the museum is a tribute to the valor of the Garhwal Rifles and the legacy of Darwan Singh Negi, the first Indian Victoria Cross recipient. Housed in a well-maintained two-story building established in 1983, it offers a captivating experience for history enthusiasts and curious travelers alike. The museum’s collection is impressive, showcasing an array of artifacts like vintage uniforms, rare photographs, medals, and weapons, each narrating the heroic tales of the Garhwal Rifles from World War I to modern times. Detailed displays of battle scenes, citations, and personal belongings of soldiers provide deep insights into their sacrifices and achievements. The exhibits are well-organized, though I wished for more interactive elements to engage younger visitors. Photography isn’t allowed inside, which preserves the artifacts but might disappoint some. Outside, a charming rose garden adds to the serene ambiance, perfect for a brief stroll. The museum’s location near the Garhwal Rifles War Memorial and Gandhi Park makes it easy to include in a day’s itinerary. Open from 9:00 AM to noon (except Sundays and holidays), it’s best visited between March and November for pleasant weather. The entry fee of Rs. 50 is reasonable, though card payments for tickets would be a welcome addition. Overall, the Garhwali Museum is a must-visit for anyone interested in military history or the cultural fabric of Uttarakhand. It’s a poignant reminder of the region’s proud legacy, though minor enhancements like guided tours could elevate the experience. I left feeling inspired and more connected to the sacrifices of

Review as of June 14: Named after Darwan Singh, the first India to awarded Victoria Crosss for his exploits in World War I The Museum houses numerous antique artifacts belonging to the Garhwal Rifles. Beautiful two storey building exhibits Battle scenes of Pre-Independence and Post-Independence periods, portraits of the brave soldiers, achievements, customs, traditions, rich certificates and documents of world war I and II, war trophies, antiques, old dresses, medals, appreciations. It has swords, guns, grenade launchers. I had visited the museum with my 12 year old and he was absolutely involved in looking through the artifacts. Entry Fee for 1 adult and 1 child: Rs.60. They accept it via UPI only Timings: 9 AM - 12 PM and 3 PM - 6 PM on all days except on holidays and Sundays. Near the Museum you can also see an aircraft exhibit. It was part of INS Viraat.

🌟🌟🌟🌟⭐ (4.5/5) A must-visit place in Lansdowne for history lovers and patriots! Garhwal Army Museum is truly one of the highlights of Lansdowne. It’s a well-maintained and peaceful place that beautifully showcases the rich history, bravery, and legacy of the Garhwal Rifles Regiment. If you’re someone who appreciates military history and the sacrifices of our soldiers, this museum will definitely touch your heart. The exhibits are very informative – from medals, weapons, uniforms, and rare photographs to inspiring stories of valor. You also get to learn about the contribution of the Garhwal Rifles in various wars and operations. Everything is neatly arranged and gives you a glimpse into the disciplined and honorable life of an Indian Army soldier. One important point to keep in mind – photography is not allowed inside the museum, which can be a bit disappointing for those who love to capture memories, but it's understandable due to the sensitivity and nature of the content displayed. 🎟️ Entry tickets are just ₹30 per adult, which is very reasonable. 🅿️ Free parking is available, and from there it’s just a short 300-meter walk to the museum. The path is pleasant and adds to the experience. The staff at the museum deserve special mention – they are polite, respectful, and very cooperative. You can feel the discipline and hospitality in the way they handle everything. They also answer questions and help you understand the exhibits better if you’re curious. Right opposite the museum is the Army Parade Ground, where you can sit, relax, and enjoy the beautiful surroundings. It’s a great spot to rest after exploring the museum – calm, clean, and scenic. Overall, this place is not just a museum, it’s an emotion. A salute to the brave hearts who protect us. Definitely recommend visiting if you're in Lansdowne.

Kaleshwar Mahadev Mandir in Lansdowne is a 500-year-old temple dedicated to Lord Shiva, believed to house a self-formed Shivlinga. Situated by the Khoh River, it is surrounded by natural streams and springs, making it a popular tourist attraction. The temple holds great significance for locals and the Garhwal Troops. Visitors can enjoy the serene walk from the market to reach this ancient site nestled amidst lush trees with a tranquil ambiance.
Most ancient temple near the cantonment township. Maintained by the army. One has to pass through very narrow lanes from the market area to reach there. But walkable distance from the Lansdowne market. Some cemented steps have been made to reach the temple.Nice cool place for worshiping Lord Shiva.

🌟🌟🌟🌟⭐ (4.5/5) A peaceful and divine spot tucked away in the serene hills of Lansdowne – Kaleshwar Mahadev Mandir. This beautiful temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva and is nestled amidst the quiet and lush greenery of the hills. The entire atmosphere here is calm, spiritual, and soothing to the soul. If you're looking to escape the noise and chaos of daily life, this is the perfect place to spend some quiet time in prayer or reflection. Reaching the temple is quite easy – you can drive your own vehicle directly up to the temple entrance. Although the last stretch of road becomes quite narrow, it is still easily manageable, even for slightly bigger vehicles like Ertiga, Eeco, or Kia cars. Just drive carefully, and you won’t face any issues. 🅿️ Parking is free, and the area is not crowded, which makes the experience even more peaceful. You’ll often find the surroundings clean and well-kept. When I visited, there was no pandit present, but the temple was open and accessible, and that quiet, unhurried atmosphere added to the spiritual vibe of the place. This isn’t a very commercial or crowded temple, which makes it feel more authentic and sacred. You can sit there for a while, soak in the peaceful surroundings, listen to the rustling trees and birds, and just unwind. I would definitely recommend adding Kaleshwar Mahadev Mandir to your Lansdowne itinerary. Whether you're spiritually inclined or just looking for a serene spot with beautiful views, this temple is a hidden gem that you shouldn’t miss.

Bheem Pakora, Lansdowne

Bheem Pakora in Lansdowne is not related to food but rather a popular hiking spot that can be reached within 2 km. It features an impressive arrangement of two rocks, where one can touch and create vibrations with just one hand, yet it cannot be moved when applying force. To get there, one needs to walk approximately 3 km from the main market or take a car up to 1-2 km away from the main road.
The place is a long walk of around 2.5kms from the market. The view is undoubtedly the best in the city through out the way. The destination is okayish, but you should visit this place. Will take around 1.30 hours to go and come back.

Natural beauty in lush forests and great spot associated with ancient story. It's one of the major place to visit in Lansdowne. There is the way from the byelanes of local market of Lansdowne. One can trek or hire the local vehicle. The road is not good so be ready for bumpy ride. But the spot is excellent. It was told by the market people that during the period of exile, Pandavas took a halt at this place and cooked food. महाबली भीम placed a rock above another in a way that it can never topple. One can move this rock by merely one finger, but it can never fall down. Our driver showed us by moving with his own thumb.

It's almost at a distance of 2 km from Lansdowne market, going there by car is not recommended since the road is very narrow and uneven. Walking to this place is fun since the surroundings are great, the site are beautiful and peaceful. The main attraction of this place is a set of rocks, the topmost rock is lying in such a way that one can feel slight movement in it by just pushing the rock with a finger. The place provides great sights for photography.

Decent selfie spot. Nothing great here. You can shake the rock but can't move it. Just a rock over another rock in a Pakora shape. The view of hills n pine 🎍 forest is amazing from here. Go here in a sedan car or 2 wheeler because the road to here is quite narrow and dangerous. Drive safely.

Nestled in the serene hills of Uttarakhand, Divine Cafe & Restaurant Lansdowne offers a delightful escape from the chaos of city life. This charming eatery is set against the stunning backdrop of the Himalayas and embodies the tranquility that Lansdowne is known for. With its rich history dating back to British rule, this hidden gem provides an inviting atmosphere complemented by professional service.
Best restaurant in Lansdowne. Clean and tidy. The food is amazing 😋 Chinese and Indian options are great. The tea was good as well.

We ordered white sauce pasta and it was served cold. I asked the Server to check the same and he took one piece of pasta and put it back in the bowl and took it to reheat. Sandwich was served in a broken tray, photo is attached. The service and food as per the ratings available on Google is not inline with the real time experience. Think twice before you have food here.
Deepak R — Google review
We had a very disappointing experience here. We ordered one chicken dish and one white sauce chicken pasta, and it took almost 30 minutes for the food to arrive. The chicken dish was fine, but the pasta came without any white sauce at all. When we pointed it out, the staff simply said they couldn’t redo it and that was it – no apology, no alternative offered, and no effort to make up for the mistake. The restaurant was busy, but that doesn’t justify the lack of care or basic courtesy. Very poor service experience, unfortunately.

One of the best cafe in Landsdowne of you want a break from the regular Indian food. We ordered sizzlers and they were tasty and filling.

Travel Cafe in Lansdowne is a charming spot with lively decor and a nostalgic ambiance reminiscent of an old Indian home. The cafe offers a cozy retreat, complete with comic books, board games, and delicious maggi, making it a must-visit for those seeking both comfort and entertainment during their travels.
Loved Shipras cafe she takes special care along with the server The cafe is booked round the clock so it's advisable to call up and book before it's in a lane beside St Mary's Church She has decorated the cafe with antiques , old books etc We loved the food & enjoyed it immensely It's a must when u visit Lansdowne

In my opinion, yes, the place has a very good mountain view, but the timings are very odd, compared to yes, it is closed on Tuesday, things are too expensive, the coffee they offered was very good.
Sanchit S — Google review
I had a truly disappointing experience at this restaurant. The owner was incredibly rude and unwelcoming, making us feel uncomfortable from the moment we walked in. Instead of offering a warm greeting, we were met with cold indifference. The atmosphere was anything but friendly, and it honestly felt like we were an inconvenience to the staff. To top it off, their policy of requiring table reservations in advance isn’t just inconvenient, it’s strictly enforced with no room for flexibility. Even though there were empty tables, we were told we couldn’t be seated without a prior booking. I won’t be coming back and definitely wouldn't recommend it to anyone looking for a pleasant dining experience.
Rahul S — Google review
We visited the cafe around 4 PM but unfortunately there was break time from 4 Pm to 5:45 PM. Really I don’t have any words for this as evening time first place I saw this. Second this place needs prior booking otherwise you will not get walk-in entry.

One of the worst places I have been to. This seems like random normal cafe but I guess the owner seems very proud and she thinks its a very beautiful and unique cafe she has built. She is arrogant and thinks she is the queen of the world after opening a completely random cafe. The place where I come from we have 100 different cafes which are more beautiful and more unique than this place with good staff and good service. So let me explain my experience. We went in and asked if we can sit and there is any availability. Many tables inside were empty but the arrogant useless lady said no place and asked us to leave, how can a place which runs based on other people giving them money behave like this. I really hope and pray that this place closes down soon and the owner of the place comes down to road running short of money. Such people don’t deserve this kind of place. She must be a queen thinking very highly of herself but in actual many deserving people should get chance to run something and not such privileged ones who don’t even care what they are running.

My experience at Travel Cafe was a weird one they have nowhere mentioned That we need to book first then only we can visit the place. My husband is diabetic and we were looking for some food around 2 in the noon and when we visited the cafe we were asked that that if we don't have a prior booking so we can't sit though there was ample sitting area was available. We were given 6 o clock time so for me highly disappointing place. To be precise I always carry some eatables with me knowing my husband's diabetic profile so that was the saving grace otherwise I won't recommend this place. Only getting good remarks on you tube won't get you any merits from my side. As the arrogance leads you nowhere.

There's nothing about this place that would make you revisit. Food is okay but the place is too small and shabby. The lady who manages the place is extremely rude and non-accomodating. Only reason for it's popularity is that there are no other options in that area. Visiting the market and eating there is a better alternative in my view.

Visiting new places gives you experience, and ofcourse visiting lensdownne is a beautiful experience and cafe travel also has a view but not ultimate and food, well plz don't expect much from chef or I say cook.no balance atall in flavours. It's not hard now a days to learn cooking some balance flavour food from social media.so best of luck.

Cafe Ullasa & Camping in Lansdowne is a hidden gem nestled along the picturesque route to Bhulla Taal, offering a peaceful retreat from the bustling market area. Surrounded by lush pine forests and breathtaking mountain views, this cafe provides an inviting atmosphere for diners. With its open-air seating featuring simple yet clean furniture, it’s perfect for enjoying a meal while soaking in nature's beauty. The charming wooden swings at the entrance make for delightful photo opportunities as you await your order.
The best place in the town. If you are visiting Lansdowne you must go to the cafe. You must be patient for the order as the place is full of crowd. They have 8 tent also to stay. If you want to book this place please do it online or contact Mr. Ashok as this placed is always booked. Make your reservation prior.

Food is not that great, taste is okayish. We tried Cold Coffee, Blueberry Shake, Piri Piri Fries, Pizza, Paneer Wrap, White Sauce Pasta and Chicken Wrap. Pizza was thin crust. There are very few choices to select from in Landsdowne. The decor of the cafe is really very good. The ambience is great. Music playing and Matches on TV. Loud music not really played though. Beautiful space with swings. The tables are very bohemian I would recommend wraps, if you visit this place.

Situated on the scenic route to Bhulla Taal, this cafe offers a tranquil dining experience away from Lansdowne's main market area. The surrounding pine forests and mountain views create a serene atmosphere. I visited during dinner hours (around 7:30 PM) and was the only customer, which added to the peaceful vibe. The cafe has an open-air seating area with basic but clean furniture. Two traditional wooden swings (jhullas) at the entrance make for a nice photo spot while waiting for your order. Food preparation time was about 15 minutes - reasonable considering everything is cooked fresh to order. Prices are similar to market standards. Best For: Couples/solo travelers seeking quiet dining Post-Bhulla Taal walk meals Those wanting to avoid crowded main market restaurants A reliable dining option in Lansdowne that delivers good quality food in a peaceful natural setting. Worth visiting if you prioritize freshness and tranquility over fancy ambience.

Charming Café Retreat in the Hills, but Food Leaves Room for Improvement Rating: ★★★☆☆ (3/5) During my recent visit to the hills, I stumbled upon a charming café that offered a cozy ambiance and stunning views of the surrounding landscapes. While the overall experience was pleasant, I must admit that the food fell short of my expectations. The café's location was undeniably its biggest selling point. Situated atop a hill, it provided a serene and picturesque setting, making it an ideal spot for relaxation and soaking in the beauty of nature. The outdoor seating area allowed guests to enjoy the fresh mountain air while savoring their meals. The staff at the café were friendly and attentive, promptly seating me upon arrival and offering recommendations from the menu. Their warm hospitality contributed positively to the dining experience. However, majority of the food items were not available leaving us with not much choice. We ordered sandwich which came with some fries, masala Maggi, peri-peri fries and customised veg noodles. Unfortunately, the food was somewhat underwhelming. While the menu boasted a variety of options, ranging from sandwiches and salads to hot meals and desserts, the execution did not match the promising descriptions. Beyond the food, the café's ambiance and decor were delightful. The rustic yet cozy interior created a welcoming atmosphere, and the tasteful decorations added a touch of charm. It was evident that the café had invested thoughtfully in creating a lovely space for patrons to enjoy. In summary, the café's location and ambiance were undeniably its strongest assets, providing a delightful retreat in the hills. However, the food quality left something to be desired, and improvements in the kitchen would undoubtedly elevate the overall dining experience. If you find yourself visiting this café, I recommend enjoying the views, perhaps opting for a beverage, and basking in the serene atmosphere..

This cafe is really amazing. Located in deep dense forest area this cafe is widely spread. The decor and ambience of the cafe is really very nice. All around there are trees and just greenery to enjoy. The food is amazing so is their service. For kids there is a huge playing area. They have a treehouse and some fun activities as well. Highly satisfied with the service and food quality.

Recent visit of cafe Ullasa in lansdowne which has been opened in dec 2020 only is shared below Pros 1. Good location. 2. The lighting and the ambience. 3. Quality of food is also good which I thought won’t be. 4. The variety in menu. 5. Quantity of food is also good Cons 1. Parking on the main road. 2. Half of the items mentioned in menu are not available. 3. Staff is also not aware about what is available and what not. They keep asking each other. 4. The cutlery is not cleaned properly in first go. 5. Charges are very high- a normal burger costs Rs 125

Visited this place in afternoon and stayed in the tents for a night. We did not even think that this place could give us the vibes we enjoyed that night and throughout our stay. The staff working there is very polite and always talking to you with a smiling face. It thoroughly satisfies the tag line “Food on the Hills” as the food was not a single star less than what was expected. Highly recommended if you want to enjoy the best ambience as well as food in Lansdowne.
Mayank S — Google review
Lovely place, beautiful ambiance… Food is pretty delicious, service is very nice... staff is very humble and owner is a good person... everyone there will take proper care of yours... they welcome the suggestions very nicely... Enjoy shakes, wraps and non-veg food here... only this place in Lansdowne serves fish and Prawns... They have Swiss camps, and bonfires can be also arranged on special request... in winters bonfires are generally available... outdoor seating arrangements are pretty scenic and happening... a very good party place...
