Natural beauty and clean environment. You can free fish, bird and tortoise 🦈🐟🕊🦩in the water. You can see the natural cave and modern with buddha statues in the internal and learn about Sadan through the whole cave. After learning, the villagers make funds from riding the boat. 🌲🌴

The most attractive place in Hpa An. The 10 minute walk into the natural cave (from the entrance to the exit) and a short boat trip that goes through the cave are what makes this place really amazing and memorable 😍. Highly recommended

The longest Cave in the Hpa An. At the end of the cave , there was a boat we could rent to go back . On the way of the boat trip, you can take amazing landscape view such as rice paddies and Mountain Range.

It is really dark inside the cave when the electricity is off. Even the generator is not working at the crowded time during public holidays. You must need to open your flash light from your mobile phone and be careful to walk non-slipping on the walkway. But, you can feel the real taste of the natural cave. Enjoy!

Nice and Wonderful Religious Place , One of the famous places in Hpa-An , Revisit again in 2026 .

A stunning cave where one is greeted by the many Buddhas at the cavern-like entrance. Wear non-slip footwear and bring a torch to walk through the cave (maybe slippery at times). Be greeted by a burst of bright light and a lovely tranquil lake. The transition from darkness to brightness brought a smile to my face. :) We chartered long wooden boats and paddled through a cave that is half submerged with water. It was an awesome ride with plentiful of photo-taking opportunities. Enjoy!

The most impressive cave. You can walk through from entrance to exit of cave. At exit of the cave, boat are waiting for you to get car parking. One boat for maximum six people. Fees is kyat 6,000 (Oct 2019). Option 1, you can walk back from exit to entrance if you don't love to go back by boat. Option 2, you can go back car parking by boat from exit of cave. For option 2, you must take your slipper or shoes with you. Because you have to walk 5 minutes to the car parking after boat trip. Best time to go this cave is evening between 4 pm and 5 pm.

Not a bad choice for Burmese curry, plenty of condiments with your curry and a wide array of dishes to choose from. Many foreigners and a few locals, friendly and attentive service, very quick. Minor rumble in my stomach after dinner but hygiene seems fine overall.

The most important thing about the restaurant is Hygiene and delicious food. You can get both in this restaurant and it is not expensive and also feels the culture.

Famous Burmese style restaurant in Pha-An and all visitors from other place had their lunch or dinner at least one time at San Ma Tau. Can be very crowded during holidays as visitors flock in to Pha-An. Dishes are delicious so choose the dish you like and enjoy 😋

Simply the best place to have lunch in Hpa-An. Amazing and tasteful food in a great place. I couldn’t have hoped for a better place to eat at my arrival.

Tiny but pretty night market, where you'll find only food stalls. That's a nice way to discover some of the Burmese street food for a really cheap price. On the bad side : due to a lack of bins, the place ends to be very very dirty and filled with plastic bags on the floor at night. Can't imagine how many of those wastes are going to the lake.

Worth to be there as varity of foods with cheap price and clean. I tried Kayin Taw Hta Min which included sidedish called famous Kayin traditional meal Ta La Baw. Again cheap and delicious. I tried fruits and juice, and really tasty..there is music show on weekend in the middle of the lake. No chance to watch it. Hope next time i can catch up.

This Night Market is called Kan Thar Yar Night Market. Open at 3pm. Nice Lake View. Having fun with many delicious foods. Karen Mohinga, fried pa yit (insect), and Karen traditional meals with rice, are preferable.

There are many food shops. A lot of food (fried crickets, coconut, sea foods, salad, ice cream, etc) can be selected as you like. Clean area for all ages. Breathing fresh air from the pond is really good for health. Unforgettable place for me.

Food only but very popular with the locals. No upset tummy post eating so indicative of fresh food. Only regret was not trying the roast crickets.

Famous night market in Hpaan. Everybody go there for dinner, snack and drinks. You can taste Kayin Traditional curry and Kyin style noodle ( Kayin Mont Te) and various kind of Myanmar traditional foods and snacks. And also you can enjoy Thai foods such as bbq, Thai style noodle, salads, and also soft drink. You can take amazing photo with Zwekabin Mountain but you have to go before dark. I love this Night market.

Went here to watch the sunset. Parked our scooters/mopeds at the bottom and climbed a short but steep stairs to the top of the cliff and sat at the pagoda waiting for dusk. Each evening the locals bang pots to encourage the colony of bats to fly out of the cave in their thousands! Unique experience

Linno Cave or Bats Cave is located at the verge of Thanlwin River. The cave is named upon the bats living in the cave under the pagoda. The bats are going out at the evening (time is vary) and coming back to the cave at early morning. Many local people and tourists come to see the bats coming out from the cave at the evening. There is a view point and a pagoda the the top of the cave. It is a little bit steep and not good for kids and children to go to the view point. However, the view is so nice to watch Thanlwin River, sunset and other surroundings.

An easy hike up to see a beautiful view of the bridge while the sun sets as well as to see the bats fly out from the cave and fly over the bridge to another cave. It was incredible to see the bat formations as they fly together avoiding the birds that try and hunt them. The sunset itself was beautiful but you couldn’t actually see the sun behind the cave. I am not sure if it was the time we went and the bats were not just leaving before dark but there was someone that was beating what sounded like a drum to get the bats to fly out of the cave. This made it seem a little less natural.

Visited this place at the beginning of April and didn't really get to see the bats coming out of the caves. When the bats decided to come out, it was already way past sunset and you couldn't see jack. Must depend on the season, I guess. You can climb the stairs to the top of the rock. The views up there were nice though. Tourists pay 1000 Kyat. If you plan on going to Cambodia in the future, visit the Bat Caves in Battambang instead. I had a way better experience there.

Fantastic place to observe over 1,000,000 bats flying out of the narrow cave entrance. We came at 5.30pm and they came out approximately 20 minutes later. It's very dependant on the temperature of the day. Higher temperatures often mean a later exit.

Enjoy sunset here and see more than 2 million bats leave the cave just when sun starts setting. The locals bang plastic boxes and you can see the bats move to the tune. Would recommend a shower post this as it starts smelling a lot of bat poop and urine around. The place is much before the huge climb so just wait next to the Buddha statue facing the river.

It's a really good place to make the perfect photos, the only downside is the bat cave is locked

KawGon Cave, in Kayin State is a limestone cave full of ancient and modern pagodas. The 7th Century artworks of tiny clay Buddhas plastered on the walls of the cave is an amazing sight. On the left hand side of the entrance is a flight of steps (about 250 steps in total) for a panoramic view of the surroundings. Very nice! PS: For a visit to shrines in Myanmar, a pair of slippers, a plastic bag to keep your shoes, wet tissue and a bottle of purified water will go a long way. Over-the-knee attire is a must.

Located at west side of Thanlwin along with other famous caves, YaThaePyan, BayinNyi and Bat cave. The cave is covered with thousands of Buddha statues. It's a limestone cave and people considered it as a Buddhist temple. It's quite obvious that it's a buddhist temple. But, KawGon cave also have scriptures about the holy trinity of Hinduism and even an image of the Ganesh(မဟာပိန္နဲ). There have also been found Mon scriptures of 7th century. People believe that most of the Buddha statues were donated by Martaban, the wife of Thaton King Manuha. It is said that Queen Martaban escaped and hid there when King Anawrahta of Bagan kingdom conquered Thaton kingdom and took King Manuha. I'm not gonna tell all the details right here. So, go explore yourself there. It's worth it.

As it is historical and wonderful for visiting and going on a pilgrimage to this place discovered since AD 7 century. As you see it , though it is not long inside the cave, it is worth enjoying this. And form this cave , you can go to the Yathebyan Cave 150 feet long inside and you would feel it amazed to be there and its story and nearby there natural water cave to explore surprisingly.

Very beautiful carvings on the cave walls. There are also a lot of cute monkeys around! Take the stairs on the left for a beautiful view! Definitely worth of visiting!

Kaw Gon Cave is located on Hpa-An, Kayin State, Myanmar. This limestone cave (AD.7) is historical and cultural heritage of Myanmar. You will see Buddha Statues which were curved on the cave's walls. Go and visit there. I'm sure you will like it.

We visited 27.Dec.2015. This Cave is 130 feet length and 70 feet wide, only about 25 feet in height means it will not be very large cave. No specific history indicate that limestone caves were decorated by Mon queen MOTE TA MA , wife of the Mon King Manuha. King Manuha was arrested by Bagan King Anawyahta then queen MOTE TA MA fled and hided in this cave and she has been established in this filming. At AD1827 British Ambassador John carrot ford , in 1835 Richard Tan, in 1836 Saint Judson, visited and studied. There are seven ink letters and one stone letter.

An ancient cave complex with thousands of Buddha statues! Please remember to take off your footwear upon entering the holy grounds. Climb the flight of stairs to the summit of the cave rock formation for the amazing panoramic views of the surrounding fields.

The feeling you have there cannot be described...all the surroundings are gorgeous, the cave itself is beautiful and the view point at the end of the cave is breathtaking! Very worth it to visit! Plus...I found no tourists!!!! Only local tourists there 😊 rent a bycicle in HPa An and cycle to the cave, the cycling was also worth it and beautiful 😊

One of the most popular historical places in Hpa-An. It such a good experience to visit there. Quiet and peaceful place for those who meditates. But, one thing, the red bridge view point got no shade and it can even burn your feet as the bridge is made out of metal. That's all.

You have to go this place early in the morning because this cave exit is lead to the top mountain's stair way and bridge if you go there at noon it's felt like grilled. Bridge is made out of ironic so, it's hot at noon. Shouldn't miss the best sport at the mountain top view because of that heat. It's such beautiful view there.

Very nice place for nature lovers. The cave got itself very good ventilation and will see how ancient Buddhism of Hpa-an area decorate the cave with their religious figures.

Please, please, make sure you walk all the way through the cave and exit the other side as the scenery is breathtaking. We were also fortunate to encounter a group or women chanting a prayer which just added to the atmosphere.

Yathepyan Cave. It is good for the visitors who intend to go adventure trips in Myanmar. The cave is leading until the another side of mountain near the top. Inside the cave, we can see the nature beauties along the walk way that is leading step by step upword. Not very tired to go to the end. Outside the end there is iron frame walk way along the mountain wall. It is leading near the top of the mountain. There we can explore the mountain wall and sceneries around the mountain. But take care not to fall your phone off your hand. It can be lost forever. There is a Buddha statue like blessing the visitors who can attempt to reach there. The Kawgun cave famous for wall statuary is situated near The Yathepyan cave.

Nice big walk through cave wide and beautiful. Some stairs to climb but nothing serious. At the end of the cave you reach a GREAT viewing platform with a Pagoda to view the sunset. Perfect spot for a sunset. One of the best at Hpa an and for sure much easier than the big mountain. Just watch for the funny cute monkeys not stealing your food even though we had both our bags lying around on the ground while we rested and when we noticed the mo keys there were 5 of them around our bags but they haven't touched them... But should still be careful. We stayed just two people with 10 monkeys for 10 minutes watching them play and they even invited us to play with them by tapping our feet every now and then, but we refused politely... Really not aggressive monkeys and real cute to watch.

One of the best meals we’ve had in Myanmar so far!! The setting in the garden creates a lovely ambiance. Tea leaf salad, tomato salad and fried wontons. And the owner speaks great English. Menus are also in English. Pls also try the Faluda as a dessert. It’s a jummy fruit and ice cream drink.

Great flavors. Had the tea leaf salad. The local chicken noodle soup and a banana drink. All great. Very friendly staff.

Very nice ambience and cute place. Close to the street, but the noise is not bad and the restaurant is hidden in thick greenery. The menu is rich and in good English, the staff was very polite and spoke good English. The juices are good - real deal with fresh fruit and not too sweet. We ordered Tom Yum seafood soup which was very good and Tom Yum fried rice which was good in taste but maybe not too big if you’re too hungry.

Central location, lovely staff. Even got the special cup for tea. The food is good and prices very fair. Nice that they have a dedicated breakfast menu with smaller portions and lighter meals.

It was one of the best food We had in Myanmar! We spent 3 days in Hpa’An, we came 3 times. We highly recommend the Shan style Clay. Pot hot noodle and the homemade wantons! Also the staff is very friendly and the owners speak English. If you pass by Hpa’An, you have to stop there.

I mean, that's alright. The whole restaurant is simply decorated. The menu has numerous options. The foods are delicious. They have big tables that can serve eight people maximum. It's a pretty good place for a family dinner. I don't know the prices because my parents always pay for the costs.

Good food and decent portions. Cheaper and much better than Lucky-1, even more if you're vegetarian. Place can get busy at night, specially because of takeaway orders from locals, so service can be a bit slow but nothing over the top.

We visited this nice restaurant every single day during our stay in HPA-An. The staff is very friendly and the food is very good! We tried nearly every salad on the menu - I would recommend seaweed salad, tea leaf salad (never tried it before), and water spinach salad. I think the French fries were handmade- so so good! We also loved the rice and noodles “Malaysian style”. And yes you will meet some tourists, but local people as well. Thank you and see you tomorrow :).

We went here after seeing some good reviews. The food was ok, not very tasty and some meals were very expensive. What shocked me the most was the different prices on the ‘foreign menu’, when we asked for the bill, the staff had to take the English menuto check the prices of our meal on that menu, since foreigners obviously pay more than locals. We do not mind paying more, but wedo mind paying more for a minimalistic meal, just because we are foreigners. Not recommended...

We have not died. Not even a stomachache. A lot of reviews (both here and on TripAdvisor) claim that that same night, people who ate at Khit Thit had stomachache for three days... it was not our case. We even went two times. However it is true that both times we ordered fried noodles and vegetables and fried rice with vegetables (no meat at all)... the menu is in English and staff are very helpful. Depending on the people they have that day they will be veeeery slow or quite fast. Enjoy it!

Generous and delicious portions of food! The "Myanmar style" is slightly spicy (I love it), and prices are really good. The service is fast and people are really nice.

Ordered chicken curry with white rice and fried pork. Curry was amazing and so was the pork. Rice came cold. Quick and friendly service, cozy place. Definitley recommended.

This is the best Thai restaurant in Hpa-An. The best Thai cuisine ever. Some seafood curries are not mentioned the price. I recommend you should ask the price before you order.

Well advertised place that guides people directly to it from the main road. The Mexican mascot is a bit of a mystery to me in how he relates to Thai food, but oh well...The place has a large menu, and lots of seating. Service was fine, and the price-to-portion ratio is good. Probably the best place to get food on this side of the river, and is in a good location relative to the bat cave and other caves you'll probably be exploring.

Good home cooked food, super affordable.

Greeted by enthousiastic and friendly host, speaking good english. Each table has its own little cabin, making for a very cosy atmosphere. The food was delicious, and had a wonderful presentation. I had the steamed seafish with soy bean, and was blown away by the taste. The fish arrived on a charcoal platter, cooking right in front of you. Prices are average: 2000 - - 5000 mmk for main course. But the fish labeled "market price" was quite a bit expensive (13 000 mmk). Then again, it was an entire fish with enough meat for two people.

One of the best meals we had in Hpa-an. Customized stuff for us for being vegetarians. Green curry was bit too watery but the fried rice was great. Food comes quick. Toilet facility is decent. My friends ordered the steamed lemon fish (with sea bass) and it was fantastic. They loved the chicken cashews.

One of the best restaurants in town. Great taste with reaonareas prices. Price to Portion ratio is the best in the whole country, I would say. Even their "small" portion is large enough for 4 people. MUST TRY: Fried Chicken Dumpling! (ၾကက္ဖက္ထုပ္)
