Points of Interest & Landmarks
Tamparuli Suspension Bridge, famously mentioned in the Kadazan-Dusun jingle Jambatan Tamparuli, is an iconic historical bridge in Tamparuli. It consists of two bridges - one for pedestrians and the other for vehicles. Visitors can enjoy traditional music and dances performed by local youth at the beginning of the bridge. The area also offers parking facilities and easy access. Despite its wobbly appearance, the bridge is actually quite safe to cross.
Historical suspension bridge & the underneath unique concrete bridge (only 1 way traffic allowed at a time with vehicles at both ends have wait for their turns almost based on first-come-first pass). There is schedule cultural performance at ghe entrance of the suspension bridge (donation box or buy some souvenirs).
Wong T — Google review
At entrance, we will welcomed by the story teller and a music performance by the dancer and musician. But. The original bridge according to the history, is not the extention bridge. But the one that the cars use to crossed the river. After the welcome performance, please donate to the donation box. And they also sell a mechandise to tourist.
Ayu B — Google review
The most famous bridge in Sabah with a song dedicated to it. However this current 200m suspension bridge was not the original one crossing Tamparuli river. The old suspension bridge was swept away by flood in 1999. The walk along suspension bridge is not too unnerving as there is a limit to the numbers of people allowed at any one time. The view of the river, Pekan Tamparuli and the surrounding is spectacular from the bridge centre. Interesting is the folklore connected to the old bridge built by the British in 1930s, concerns the sacrifice of a maiden to appease the river spirit. Her body was supposedly buried alive under the first pier of the bridge. How's that for a macabre story! Today the bridge is well visited by tourists. A volunteer(?) group from a local cultural NGO provides traditional dance performance at the western bank start point of the bridge. No fees collected but donations are most welcomed. Visitors can park their cars at an open space near the river western bank. Else you can park in Pekan Tamparuli and approach the bridge from the eastern side, next to the market place.
SY T — Google review
It's a good experience crossing the bridge. It was the rainy season when we came, so the river's quite high. At the other end of the bridge is a team from the Cultural and Arts Society Tuaran, entertaining us with their music and dance.
Liyana A — Google review
Just like any other bridge but it has its history though. Entertainment is provided after you alight from the bridge in the form of cultural dance.
Man A — Google review
Nice outskirts historical place since early 1930.lots of small stalls selling fresh fruits, vegetables
Azhar I — Google review
Stop by here to visit the historical jambatan tamparuli all the way from kota kinabalu to our homestay at kundasang.
Siti H — Google review
A window into one of the most important local history along with performance from local talent using traditional instrument. Very interesting. And the walk on the bridge is something else new experience.

Golf Courses
Dalit Bay Golf & Country Club is a stunning 18-hole golf course located just 27 km from Kota Kinabalu. The well-maintained course offers a picturesque setting with Mount Kinabalu in the background and abundant wildlife around, including monitor lizards, herons, eagles, and more. While it's an easy course for low handicappers, beginners may find it challenging due to water hazards on most holes. The clubhouse is clean and exquisite, but the restaurant opens late.
The golf course is well-maintained and offers a fantastic experience for golfers of all skill levels. The greens are lush, and the fairways are perfectly kept, making for an enjoyable and challenging game. The layout is thoughtfully designed, with beautiful scenery surrounding each hole. The staff are friendly and professional, providing excellent customer service. Additionally, the clubhouse offers great amenities, and the overall atmosphere is welcoming and relaxing. Whether you’re a seasoned golfer or a beginner, this course provides a wonderful place to play and enjoy the sport. If you play bad it is not course fault it is your fault.

Fantastic meal and a good go at the driving range where we saw a Saltwater crocodile (!) and Monitors. Birds are also all around the course. Staff are great, as in the rest of the Rasa Ria resort.
Kiran R — Google review
Lovely 18 hole course which is part of the Rasa Ria resort. Challenging course with lots of water hazards. Par 3 11th home is very picturesque. Great wildlife around whilst playing - we saw monitor lizards, herons, eagles, Macau monkeys, humming birds + other birds & insects. Hire clubs available with gold buggies. Recommend early tee off time due to heart & humidity. We played at 8sm & then 6.30am - the latter being the better time. Cost for a round with buggy & hire clubs was c£85. Highly recommended.
John C — Google review
Nice scenery, nature-friendly. The green is well maintained. We can see komodo king lizards And dont forget to keep your bag safe from monkeys
Min K — Google review
We only visited the driving range, which was shooting balls into a lake in a beautiful setting. The course looked great but we didn't actually play it. Staff were helpful and nice and the restaurant was good too.
Mette C — Google review
Just played a round at Dalit Bay Golf & Country Club in Sabah — what a hidden gem! ⛳️ The course is beautifully laid out between the sea, rivers, and rainforest, with Mount Kinabalu peeking through on clear days. Super peaceful and scenic — definitely one of the most relaxing rounds I’ve had. The fairways were in great shape, greens rolled true, and it’s challenging enough to keep things interesting without being frustrating. Lots of water hazards though — so bring a few extra balls 😅. The course winds through the Shangri-La Rasa Ria resort, so you get that luxury vibe. Staff were very polite, helpful, and the buggies had GPS (always a bonus). After the round, we chilled at the clubhouse with a cold drink and watched the sun dip behind the hills — perfect end to the day. Only heads-up: it can get hot midday, so I recommend an early tee-off. And it’s a bit of a drive from Kota Kinabalu town, but worth the trip if you’re in the area. If you're a golfer visiting Sabah, this one’s a must-play. Beautiful, calm, and very well maintained

Farms
Tuaran Crocodile Farm is a captivating attraction with over 1000 crocodiles. The farm offers live crocodile shows where workers interact with the reptiles, including feeding, hugging, and kissing them. Visitors can also see various crocodile species such as Buaya Tembaga, Nile crocodiles, Aqua crocodiles, and Gharial crocodiles.
I thought it was a small place. But turnout to be quite big. There was quite a number of crocodiles! And of course few other animals. The koi fish is beautiful. There is crocodile show and after that is the crocodile feeding. There's some really really huge crocodiles! So cool.
Hui Y — Google review
Not sure where to bring your kids during holiday? Here's is a good place for family outing and spend time with. There had crocodile show at 1pm when we arrived. It was breathtaking and very atmospheric. We were very excited. 😆 Besides of a lot of crocodiles 🐊, there have other animals like monkey, pond fishes, rabbit, turtle, snakes, goose, goat etc. There also sell drinks, ice cream, some souvenir, and also crocodile egg 🥚!! You need to buy ticket at entrance. But it's definitely worth the ticket in my opinions.
Ken K — Google review
This place is a damn long way out, with a single-lane road for the last 7 kilometers—traffic jams all the way. When you finally get there, you face two different entrance fees: 35 MYR for foreigners and 18 MYR for locals. But the real shock hits once you step inside. Honestly, I’d say this feels more like a dump than a crockodile farm. The crocodiles are stuck in algae-covered, rusty concrete pits with dirty water. Some even have visible infections around their snouts, which is really concerning. I politely asked the staff multiple times to turn down the incredibly loud music blasting nonstop, but it never stopped. A place like this should be calm and peaceful so visitors can enjoy the animals—not overwhelmed by noise. The whole facility looks neglected and rundown. Considering all that, the prices are way too high for what you get. Overall, this place has a lot of room for improvement if they want visitors to have a decent experience and, more importantly, if they want to properly care for the animals.
Abc D — Google review
Interesting place with fun crocodile feeding shows to watch. There’s also a souvenir shop for keepsakes. Good for family visits. The area is fairly clean and staff are friendly, though there’s a bit of a strong smell sometimes.
Priscille A — Google review
It was a pleasant experience as far as zoos go. Wee got to hold a baby (2 years old) and got to see the crocodile show, which was more a demonstration of these animals fiercesome power. Then saw them getting fed which consisted of someone throwing chickens over a fence. I feel more effort could have been made to demonstrate the crocodiles skills. There were taxidermied crocs for pics and souvenirs to buy as well as a take off cross skin purses and bags.
Ben S — Google review
some of the animals surrounding not very good, like the monkey, otter and the snake. Got entertain by the crocs , have performance at 3pm, got to see the oldest crocs. seems okay and many places to take photo.
Li Y — Google review
Overall good experience. Would be great,if it will be possible to learn something about the residents of the farm. How long they are there, how often do they eat? Etc. Other animals like monkey, civet and bearcat, poor indoor design... These 3 look quite depressed :(

A Thrilling and Heartwarming visit As first-time visitors, our family had an absolutely unforgettable day at Ladang Buaya Tuaran! Right from the start, we were met with such a warm welcome, which immediately made us feel right at home. The experience kicked off on a high note, as we got the chance to have a photography session with a baby crocodile straight away—a unique and exciting moment for all of us. The park is incredibly family-oriented and considerate. We were pleasantly surprised to find out that admission is free for senior citizens (warga emas) and children under three, which is a wonderful gesture that makes the attraction accessible for the whole family. The entire setting is very kid-friendly, and I was particularly impressed with the clean and well-maintained toilets. Of course, the absolute highlight was the crocodile show! The suspense was palpable as the skilled stunt performer interacted with the massive crocodiles. Watching him bravely kiss and pose with one of the giants was a breathtaking spectacle that had us all on the edge of our seats. Beyond the thrilling main event, there are plenty of other attractions to enjoy. We loved watching the majestic arapaima and colourful koi fish swimming in their ponds, and the kids were delighted by the cute rabbits. It’s clear that this isn't just a crocodile farm but a well-rounded animal park. We had a fantastic time and are already planning our next visit. I'm especially looking forward to checking out the leather products in their shop. Highly recommended for a fun, clean, and exciting day out for all ages!

Sabandar Cowboy Town in Tuaran is a lively amusement park with various tourist attractions, making it a must-visit destination. The park is well-known for its horse riding activities, offering visitors the chance to experience riding a horse. Additionally, visitors can explore traditional style houses, try batik coloring, and enjoy complimentary sweet coconut juice at the mangrove area. It's an ideal place for families to have fun and create lasting memories with their kids.
Recently opened back to the public. Entrance fee for now is free except if you want to enter the mangroves then its rm10. You can ride horses here and pet rabbits and otters. The mangroves was interesting but be careful when entering the traditional houses because it's a little old and have some rotten woods here and there. The restaurant was ok too.

Went for a family outing. Not staying though and can't give a good review on the room conditions. Great place to have fun with your kids. Must go to the mangrove and experience the traditional style house, colouring on batik and also the complimentary coconut juice is very sweet.

Last time I went here during 2017 it was a nice place, very cheap entrance fee and very colorful, filled with visitors. Now, I was very dissatisfied and disappointed with the entrance fee being darn expensive even for locals. RM45/pax for adults, RM35/pax for kids. WHAT?! MOST OF THE AREA LACK OF MAINTENANCE AND YOU WERE WELCOME WITH POTHOLES AND BROKEN SIGNAGE. Barely seen any horses wandering around just like a few years ago which is very happening and I still enjoyed that year. No wonder why this place is getting forgotten and barely has any visitors these days.
Chester ( — Google review
Need to pay for RM10 per adult, RM5 for children even though to the loo. Worth the price if you are enjoying horse riding, archery and a walk to the small designated mangrove area. There's restaurant available, bridge at the mangrove area too.
Nur S — Google review
Use to be a good place to spend time with family. They had activities like horse riding (RM15 per round), rabbit feeding (RM2 for pellet food or kangkung. Now they have changed their rates to RM45 entry fee for adults and RM35 for children and even more for foreigners. This includes access to horse riding, mangrove swamp, horse viewing and access to feeding rabbits. U still need to pay for the rabbit food though at rm2 per bunch. This is bad for those who just want to do one activity. At the time of visit there wasn't any water available in the toilets or sink. However the restaurant was still running which makes me question the cleanliness if there isn't any water supply. This place is not recommended unless your really into the horse riding part of the activity.
Alexander — Google review
You can get yourself immerse in nature here especially in this very own mangrove park. Horses are beautiful and you can ride them at request. There's a cafe here to grab some food while enjoying the breathtaking scenery. Good spot to bring your families for holiday.
Ixora F — Google review
Nice place to hangout with family. Petting and riding horses are allowed. Rm10 per pax for adults, free for children 5 yrs and below. Ticket allows free roam of horse stable, bar and grill and the mangrove marsh area plus 1 welcome drink (iced tea) per person. Horse and carriage ride, dining at the bar & grill or the mangrove restaurant comes with extra charge. Decently priced for the whole experience.

Tuaran Market is a bustling local market offering a wide array of fresh produce, seafood, and cooked food. Visitors can immerse themselves in the vibrant morning scene and observe the local way of life while exploring the market's offerings. From seasonal rare items to various seafood options, including ikan putih (GT, Cupak, etc.), there are plenty of affordable finds to discover. Restaurant
Tuaran Mee Restaurant is a popular spot known for its delicious seafood dishes such as prawns, crabs, fish, clams, and wet butter chicken. The restaurant is famous for its Tuaran Fried Noodles, also known as Tuaran Mee, which is made from a batter of egg yolk and flour. This fragrant and slightly smoky egg noodle dish attracts locals and visitors alike. The prices vary depending on the ingredients chosen for the noodles.
What would be the point of dropping into Tuaran with enjoying tuaran mee? Absolutely a must treat for yourself. The noodle, hakka styled home made egg noodle, fried and garnished with roast pork, cha siew, vegetables and egg rolls. Due to the frying, the noodle is fragrant and somewhat crunchy. You can further add flavour with chilli sauce and/or infused with lihing, a locally brewed liquor. A veritable cuisine on a plate. Tuaran mee restaurant would not be so bold to carry the dish name without doing the fried noodle justice. The restaurant is fairly bare but it not a factor for enjoying a good tuaran mee.

Overall: 3/5 Tuaran has a few places selling tuaran mee n these one was a little disappointing. Tamparuli so called tuaran me is soooo much better. Further in to town there’s another much better place but its not to say it wasn’t good, just not the best for me n my taste buds. U hv 2go 2them to order which i hate n its ur typical coffee shop style. The mee soup oso average nothing fancy, chili too watery. M surprised a lot of people gave 5 stars mayb i’m a bit harsh in my reviews. I mean it was ok but I wldnt give it 5 stars.

Lunch recently at the home of Mee Tuaran in Sabah. They have all sorts of fried noodles here. If you are looking for the signature style of Mee Tuaran with rice wine, you need to ask for “tambah Lihing”. Lihing is a type of Sabahan rice wine made from "pulut", a glutinous rice, and is a traditional rice wine for the Kadazan-Dusun people. The roast pork noodles was excellent. The seafood noodles used a fish meat that tasted like chicken! Not sure what fish it was. Perhaps some tuna. Unsure.

Tuaran mee is good but the amount of meat is very little. Service is quite slow & you need to go to the counter to place your order & make payment (different then after Tuaran mee restaurants nearby)

Sabah Part 4 We were supposed to meet another couple who flew in late at Tuaran. So when we got to the town, the first thing we did was to look for Tuaran Mee. With no reference whatsoever, we looked for the oldest looking shop - almost all shops looked old 😅 so we settled for the one aptly named with the famous dish from this town. Price varies depending on what ingredients you order for the Mee - one has option for biasa, saunyuk (roast pork), seafood, daging, saunyuk campur, daging kering campur and kosong. ◾Mee Goreng is a must-order! The homemade noodle packed with wok hei although not much presentation. ◾Kon Lau Mee - basically noodle with concoction of dark sauce and topped with ingredients. Options for those who don't like their noodle dry. Their fried noodle was definitely star of the show. They do have another branch in Inanam for those who don't feel like traveling far. We also bought durian from a stall next door but the flavour didn't come close to West Malaysia's.
Boon L — Google review
Overall, the food that we ordered was ok. Portions are quite big.

Not to be missed! Absolutely loved the Tuaran mee with lihing. We even ordered seconds and thirds. Very flavourful, umami and egg noodles were handmade.
Rachael L — Google review
They said it's the best Tuaran Mee in town. The noodle itself is already nice without any condiments, it has a chewy texture as seems it used an egg in the noodle dough. During eat it we also can taste a strong the egg flavour in every time we chew. On top of that it very tasty as well. Must Try !!

Nestled in the heart of Tuaran, Tai Fatt Restaurant is a beloved gem that has been serving authentic Tuaran Mee for over 40 years. This cozy eatery captures the essence of nostalgia, drawing visitors who fondly remember their childhood trips from Kota Kinabalu just to savor its delicious offerings. The signature dish, Mee Goreng Tuaran with fried buffalo meat, showcases perfectly cooked noodles that are soft yet chewy, complemented by a rich and flavorful broth.
Located in the heart of Tuaran, this cozy eatery has a warm and inviting atmosphere. The konlau mian was a revelation. The noodles were perfectly cooked, with just the right amount of chewiness. The broth was rich and flavorful, with a hint of sweetness that balanced the savory pork. The pork itself was tender and juicy, and the toppings of vegetables added a fresh crunch.

It is good to have an original Tuaran mee in the place where it originated. With the aroma of 'wok hei' which is not overwhelmed the cha sao favour plus the not dry tuaran mian are a perfect match. For people who like the nostalgia feel of Tuaran old shop lot, here is a perfect place.

Humbled by this 40-year-old coffee shop selling authentic Tuaran Mee. A special to Tuaran district noodle made of flour and egg distinct to its character to be soft when cooked. Reminiscing the younger time as a kid coming here with my family on a 40mis journey from Kota Kinabalu just to eat at this shop. The fried noodle hasn't lost its touch, and the food is still the same as how i would remember. It's probably even tastier! A must try 1. Mee goreng tuaran daging kerbau (buffalo beef) 2. Mee goreng tuaran char sau (bbq pork) 3. Mee sup tuaran Other food available 4. Hakka style kon lau mien (bleached dry noodle in soy sauce and with pork) 5. Mee goreng basah 6. Mee goreng kering And many more, i guess ...!!

Seasons Restaurant & Bar is a unique dining spot that operates around the clock, making it an ideal choice for late-night cravings or early morning meals. While some reviews have raised concerns about cleanliness, many visitors appreciate the quick and friendly service provided by the staff, particularly at the counter. The menu boasts a diverse selection of dishes ranging from local favorites to Western cuisine, with options available for vegetarians as well. One standout dish is Tuaran Mee, which has garnered positive feedback for its flavor.
I like this restaurant a lot! it opens 24 hours, good for us but bad for the workers... There are a variety of foods from local delights to western food.... The most important, some times i like vegetarian food and they can make it vegetarian for me.... The food tastes food including Tuaran Mee... Deserve a visit... best if eat and chill here after 6pm...

This place has received some of the worst complaints i have ever read, but contratry to my visit, i find the service is quick and super friendly staff especially the one at the counter. Maybe cleanliness isn't their best thing to highlight, though i did see them cleaning, I'm skeptic about them However do beware of the younger waitress w long hair and has no smile, i guess it's just one of her bad day.. Anyway, this is my first time of having Tuaran Mee (usually I only see people posted it w pork), and i have it with chicken cutlet and glass of Sirap Oren (Orange Cordial) for RM9.90 overall. I am not a big fan of yolk and when my plate came, i checked the Tuaran mee thoroughly, i only notice the white egg fried together with the Tuaran mee. Tuaran Mee is quite stringy and it absorbs the sauces that cooked along with it, so it super juicy. This goes well with the fried chicken cutlet. I think i had great time sitting at the best spot that day, having a view that summarized little Tuaran township. There were few uncles and aunties around the restaurant, wasn't crowded but very relaxing area. Btw, they also have bar upstairs that serve beers and playing darts, hope there'll be more places like this for Tuaran. And they also serve lok lok, where you can pick your desired frozen food like fish balls, cuttlefish to be cooked braised, fried etc.

A reasonable restaurant, has many choices in term of food variety. Nice design with good food. Cleanliness is not the main stay or priority of the shop, which can be visualised when I was there. To be fair it was public holiday. Quality of food 3 star Cleanliness 2 star Overall 3 star

Overall, this restaurant offers a very inconsistent experience. Counter service at ground floor is incompetent, often making mistakes with taking orders despite customers repeating the orders. Food preparation is also inconsistent; for instance, when I ordered sweet and sour chicken rice, they instead served roasted chicken (found in a typical "nasi ayam") doused with sauce and tasted bland. This after I visited the restaurant prior, and was served the fried crispy chicken version. The food served at the upper level does not deserve the hefty price. Its spaghetti bolognese is actually ketchup instead of tomato puree. Meat are often tough to the bite. The only reason I visited the restaurant for a few months was because it was one of only a handful of restaurants in Tuaran that opens after 9.00 pm. I have stopped going to this place in favour of another restaurant that opened close by till late night.

There's a waiters or casher sat on the counter while we walk in unto level 2 to get the nice view, once we entered there her face is my main view, very arrogant liked she own the place. My man asked if he allowed to vape on the outside, she saw us the turned quickly then said sure, she gave us the menu book, 10mins later i passed her a piece of paper as our optional food, 20 mins later our food ready to served but then i realised my fiance said his order was not accurate, then i went straightly to her at counter unfortunately she said im wrongly wrote the code of menu then i asked her to show me back the paper but then she said already threw it, my heart pounds in millions.. Im confident said nevertheless for me to wrote wrongly coz im asked my man to repeated twice for the code!! She never appologise or either admitted that was her mistake, my man said thats ok he will took that food due to starving, i went to our table and she said back off me U CAN ORDER BACK IF U WANT IT, im directly turn and asked her to repeat than her voice tone slowly, a worker liked her need a specialised course on how to treat customer..

Oriental Restaurant is a great place for dinner that follows a no pork policy, although they do offer other options such as exotic meats like frogs, deer, and possibly even crocodile. The food taste and plate size are quite satisfying overall. The staff, including the friendly waitress, provide excellent service. Additionally, there is a room available for booking to celebrate special occasions. The restaurant offers good prices along with delicious food. It's recommended to everyone looking for a Chinese dining experience.
It's a nice pleasant atmosphere. I highly recommend the bitter gourd fried with salted eggs. It's one of the house specialties.

Some of the food is okay, such as nestum chicken, Sabah vege with eggs and shark fin soup. However, the sweet and sour fish tasted horrible, the fishy smell was too much, and I could see the red dye on the fish. The excessive red colour of the fish makes its look not appetizing. In my opinion, the drinks are quite affordable at RM 5 in a huge cup. Lastly, the fruit rojak there tastes good, way better than in JB, RM 10, the price is quite standard.

We dropped by for a quick lunch after visiting the croc farm opposite. Food was tasty and very affordable. But not a place you want to use the restroom.

The food is terrible. The tempura squid was undercooked and tasteless, the corn soup was too thick and had no corn flavour, just some tick water with salt, only the deer meat was ok. Very disappointed.
Michelle T — Google review
Their food is a travesty. Do not order anything with batter (tepung), they excessively coat our squid and kangkung with it, and it's not even cooked thoroughly. Their fish was fresh but wasted in their horrendous. And the nail in the coffin, they charge us an obscene amount food that shouldn't be food.

Previous year I remember this is best place for our family having our meal there before enter rasa ria, when we stayed at rasa ria but yesterday we ate there kinda frustrated because the cat poops smell kinda strong and seriously not comfortable, the cat all lingering at leg with smell 😞😞 I like cat but not at the restaurant that we are having our meal. I hope our next visit will be an improvement.

Reasonable value for money. Simple open air restaurant with some seafood dishes on its menu. Does NOT serve pork. Pricing is reasonable and food taste quite good. Make sure you try the Kampung Fried Rice which is delicious. Overall a simple restaurant with fair value for food. Worth trying if your in that area. Directly opposite Tuaran Crocodile Farm.

Nestled in the picturesque Tuaran, Kota Kinabalu, the Abadi Seafood Restaurant Homestay & Fishing Platform offers a delightful escape for seafood lovers and nature enthusiasts alike. This charming spot is perfect for those looking to unwind while enjoying fresh local seafood. The atmosphere is laid-back, making it an ideal place for adults to relax and savor their meals. While the prices may be on the higher side compared to other eateries, patrons often find that the quality of food justifies it.
A homestay / restaurant. It looks cheap and dirty from the outside BUT, it's quite enchanting and romantic inside 💖 We opted for outdoor seating on the floating raft. The hanging bauble string lights give this place a warm and inviting glow ✨️ Truly a unique and wonderful dining experience - you'll feel the gentle sway of the floating raft dining out on the open sea. They serve a variety of local food at reasonable prices. We tried the cantonese hor fun, tom yam, omelette, salted egg soft shell crab. Everything was delicious. Service was good and friendly throughout our visit. The unique setting and enchanting ambiance makes this place special. It's a short drive away from Shangri-La Rasa Ria (on a pitch dark road). Would definitely come back for another meal at sunset (bet the view is beautiful) if we have another staycation again 🫶

Never really done much review, but this time I had to do a review due to my dining experience yesterday. We came in 20 pax, the food came in upon requested. However, in terms of the quality of food, it was so bad, we barely finished it. Rice was undercooked, the other 10 pax had to request on changing the big bowl of rice, our remaining 10 pax did not even finished the rice provided. As a place that takes pride on 'seafood' and 'a hotspot fishing platform', we expect to be provided good quality seafood but the prawns were not even fresh (as it was dry and not juicy) despite it being a wet butter prawn -- the butter could not even compensate the taste of the dry prawns. We order fried squid, to my surprise it was soo dry, felt like I was eating pebbles. I think it was sweet and sour fish, it was fried soooo dry, luckily the sauce was enough to cover the dryness of the fish. I asked all of the other 19 pax, all commented no how the food did not taste great. Corn soup was nice and the sayur kangkung was mediocre hence for the 1 star. Overall, for the price, as I saw in the catalog was RM3xx, for 8 pax, which we order double of, it was edible but it tasted so ***BAD*** and not worth what we were paying. (could not provide any pictures of the food because it was so bad it wasn't even Insta worth to be posted) Points for this restaurant, atmosphere was good, the view was AMAZING, place was decorated pretty nice, and it was clean. We appreciate the A/C dining area provided. Customer service was also good. I praise the people working there for trying to provide a warm environment for us to dine and are willing to entertain to our nonsense song requests whilst providing us the opportunity to sing live on their TikTok profile. It was a mixed review for me. I just hope that this restaurant could improve on their food (taste and quality wise) and hopefully, we could revisit this place to dine and spread good word to friends as your future customers.
Maisarah F — Google review
Underrated, little spot by the river bank. Overlooks the bridge. Calming, peaceful views. The food is well made. Delicious, well seasoned and flavourful. Staff are attentive and efficient. Could do with a bit more variety of seafood but current setup is adequate for an enjoyable meal. Pricing is reasonable and way better than the tourist trap you would find at the market downtown KK.
Puan T — Google review
We came for lunch on a weekday so there were no customers other than us. Our orders took about 30-40 minutes to be prepared. The siakap tiga rasa (sea bass cooked in sweet, sour and spicy sauce aka “3-taste”) was quite good; my only issue with the dish was the price - MYR137 for two small-sized siakap (see photo) which was probably one of the most expensive siakap 3-rasa I have ever paid! The last time I paid that much for the same dish (large sized fish) was at Chef Wan’s restaurant in Kuala Lumpur 😆 I’m not sure if this was because we came from Semenanjung, thus we’re considered “outsiders”, or what. But yes, the siakap was too expensive. The rest of the dishes was good and priced okay - medium sized butter prawns for about MYR40, squid fried in batter (sotong goreng tepung) medium sized for MYR40, etc. That’s why I decided to give 3 ⭐️ for this restaurant, because of the siakap price. The place is about 30-40 minutes drive from Kota Kinabalu city centre, nice view of the river and the mangrove forest etc. Unfortunately the issue with the siakap price just killed the whole vibe of the place. Sad.

Food were generally alright. We ordered for lunch a family set menu for 8 pax complete with rice, soup, fish, prawn, squid, vegetable and drinks. The portion was super generous that I had to take away and gave it to our tour guides. Unfortunately the crab meat corn soup had no taste at all. Service was not very helpful everything was self-service (especially for first time customer to the restaurant). Atmosphere was alright can be better taking into consideration some renovation works were going on at that time. Because of the soup and the service at that time I gave overall 3 stars.

I visited this place two years ago and absolutely loved it — the food was amazing, the ambiance charming, and the experience of choosing fresh seafood made it extra special. Unfortunately, this time around it felt quite different. The place looks a bit run down, and we could no longer choose our own seafood — everything had to be ordered from the menu. One big letdown was that they no longer serve lala, which used to be a favourite and tasted so good before. The overall taste and experience just didn’t match what it used to be. Really hope they can bring back the quality and charm they once had. Came all the way from KL feeling disappointed this time around ☹️

I went to Abadi Seafood Restaurant with my kids for a fishing trip, but I was very disappointed with the condition of the place. The fishing platform and jetty were in poor and unsafe condition, very risky, especially if you’re bringing children. There were loose planks, uneven surfaces, and no proper safety measures in place. It didn’t feel maintained at all. I only stayed because my kids were too excited to fish, but honestly, I was worried the whole time about their safety. To make things worse, they charged me RM40, even though only I and my two kids were fishing. My wife was just accompanying us and didn’t fish, but they still included her in the charge, which felt unfair. If you’re planning to come here for fishing with family, especially with young kids, I would not recommend it. The place seriously needs maintenance and better customer treatment.

Mari Mari Cultural Village offers an immersive experience into the traditional lifestyles and customs of Borneo's indigenous communities. Visitors can explore authentic homes of five ethnic groups, including the Kadazan-Dusun, Rungus, Lundayeh, Bajau, and Murut. The village provides cultural performances, demonstrations on activities like blowpipe-making and rice wine processing, as well as opportunities to try local crafts and traditional dishes.
We had a truly wonderful experience at Mari Mari Cultural Village in Sabah! It was both educational and immersive, offering us a fascinating glimpse into the diverse cultures and rich history of the indigenous tribes of Borneo. Every station was well thought out and gave us a deeper appreciation of the traditional lifestyles, customs, and crafts. A special shoutout to our guide, Nisa, who made the tour even more enjoyable. She was incredibly knowledgeable, professional, and spoke excellent English, which made everything easy to understand and engaging. Her passion for the culture really shone through in her storytelling and explanations. Highly recommended for anyone visiting Sabah and wanting to experience the heart and soul of local heritage. Thank you to everyone at Mari Mari Cultural Village for such a memorable day!

Visited Mari Mari Cultural Village and it was such a fantastic experience! We got to learn about the five different houses and see how they used to live, from starting fire and making food out of coconuts to honey harvesting and making fibres from tree bark. Everything was so interesting and well explained. We also got to try two types of rice wine and some snacks during the session, which was a nice surprise. Big shout-out to our guide, Ven, who was super friendly, funny, and really engaging throughout the tour. He made the whole experience even better. Highly recommend checking this place out if you are in Sabah!

I don’t normally do these kind of touristy things but it had been recommended by many people and I had a free afternoon. It was so very well organised. From the very start when I was collected by friendly and chatty Arshad in their minivan to meeting our guide, the charismatic and funny Ven Allen, the whole experience was an excellent experience. They even catered a late lunch and accommodated my vegan diet. Really informative and I learned much about the different cultures. I really believe that their staff enjoy working there as everyone I met seemed to be having a good time. Particularly the dancers at the end performance. One of the best formal tourist attractions I’ve experienced. Be prepared for a long day though. I left my hotel at 1pm and did not get back until 7pm. The evening traffic in KK is so very congested.

Me and My friends visited Mari Mari Cultural Village , and we had an absolutely amazing time! It was so much more than a museum. Every single part of the tour was interactive and engaging, from learning to use a blowpipe (harder than it looks!) to seeing fire made with bamboo and tasting the traditional rice wine. A special shout-out to our guide, Clare! She was super energetic and friendly, and her passion for the culture really brought all the stories to life. She made the whole experience incredibly fun and memorable. The tour finished with a fantastic cultural performance which was the perfect, high-energy finale. After the show, we had the buffet lunch, and it was awesome, with lots of tasty local dishes to try. A small tip would be to head over as soon as it's ready, as some of the most popular items finished quickly! Also, a big tip for future visitors: bring your camera! Every moment is precious, and you'll want to capture it all. A huge thank you to Clare and the whole team. This is a must-do in Kota Kinabalu!

The Kota Kinabalu Wetland Ramsar Site, managed by the Sabah Wetlands Conservation Society, is a 24-hectare bird sanctuary and mangrove forest with over 80 species including herons and kingfishers. It offers eco-tourism activities and educational programs to raise awareness about the importance of wetland ecosystems. Visitors can participate in environmental education programs, volunteer for mangrove clean-up, or become voluntary guardians to help manage the site.
We recommend visiting this environmental site, where you can learn a great deal of information about the local fauna, flora, and its ecology. You can volunteer here, too, by helping to collect the trash that was washed away here. We would like to thank our fantastic guide, a student from Kota Kinabalu University, who spent extra time with us.

Kota Kinabalu Wetland is a peaceful and serene escape into nature, offering a refreshing break from the city's hustle and bustle. The lush mangroves and natural surroundings provide a calming environment, making it a great spot for those who love to reconnect with nature. While the place could benefit from further improvements to enhance its facilities and overall visitor experience, its charm lies in its simplicity and untouched beauty. The boardwalks and trails allow you to explore the wetland at your own pace, giving you a chance to spot birds and other wildlife in their natural habitat. For nature enthusiasts and anyone seeking tranquility, this is definitely a place worth visiting in Kota Kinabalu. With a bit of care and development, it has the potential to become an even more amazing destination for eco-tourism.
CK L — Google review
Kota Kinabalu Wetland Ramsar Site is a picturesque mangrove park that is a green oasis in the heart of the city. It is a place of great ecological importance, full of diverse fauna and flora, including over 90 species of birds and rare mangrove plants. Walking along the wooden walkways allows you to immerse yourself in the natural beauty of this ecosystem and observe wildlife in its natural habitat. Problem with cleanliness Unfortunately, despite its charm, the park is struggling with the problem of pollution. Rubbish, which is brought by the sea during high tides, often remains in the park and is not regularly cleaned. This means that a place that could be a real paradise for nature lovers loses some of its charm. Is it worth visiting? Despite these inconveniences, the park is still a pleasant escape from the heat and hustle and bustle of the city. A walk among the mangroves provides a moment of respite and allows you to appreciate the uniqueness of this ecosystem. If you are a nature lover and want to see the last remaining mangrove patch in Kota Kinabalu, it is worth taking the time to visit this place. However, it is good to be prepared to see trash and be aware that the park needs more care to keep it clean.

I have to preface this by saying I actually didn’t pay to enter—but only because I waited at the counter for quite some time and no one was there to attend to me. So, I just went in anyway. Even after I finished walking around and returned to the counter, there was still no one there. The place is nice enough—not sure what more you’d expect from a mangrove forest. Some parts are unkempt, though: the signs look moldy and worn, and trash (bottles, worn sandals, plastic bags) was scattered around the forest—probably brought in by flooding. Even the boardwalks felt sketchy, like they could give way at any moment. There’s an observation deck as well, but the trees have overgrown it, so you can't really see much from the top. Fortunately, I did see a few birds, but most were probably scared off by visitors. The forest is also surrounded by housing areas, a golf range, and a sports centre, so it’s not particularly inviting for birds or other wildlife. You are likely to find tree climbing crabs everywhere in the forest though. The whole walk likely takes about an hour—or more if you’re stopping to watch birds and the like. You might want to bring binoculars, as some of the birds are deeper in the forest and hard to spot with the naked eye. I think you can also walk into the swamp if you have the proper gear? Not too sure about it though.
Ryan ( — Google review
Underrated attraction. If you want to see mangrove forest right at the heart of KK, this is the place to go. You don't even need to go far There is an abundance of wildlife inside the mangrove forest but birds are quite limited, Maybe it is just the wrong timing The ticket price is RM10 for Malaysian (Adult)
Neoroxx — Google review
If you've been in more mangroves over the world, it would surprise you that this one costs money. The entrance fee is very expensive, 20 RM for foreigners (it's ridiculous that this parks has different prices for tourists and locals) and 15 RM for children. I could accept this costs if you'd feel you are helping to maintain this part of the mangrove. But the path is terribly maintained and there's a lot of plastic in the mangrove. I understand they do their best to filter the garbage out of the river coming from the illegal housing. But there's still so much rubbish in the mangrove itself that I don't understand why a staffmember wouldn't remove it. Especially with tourists paying that much. It's also weird to read about how to take care of the environment, but they don't remove the trash here. Also, you have to rent binoculars or rubber boots! This should be included in the high entrance fee if someone wishes to use them. So, the mangrove was very disappointing. Not because of the mangrove forest itself, because it's exactly like a mangrove should be. But because of the rubbish, bad condition of the boardwalk and the high fee. So, it's absolutely not worth your money. It would have been fine for no fee at all or a lower fee like the locals.
Wicked S — Google review
After reading several reviews mentioning the scattered rubbish, I was initially hesitant to visit. While there is some litter, it’s not overwhelming. A few of the boardwalk planks do need replacing, but this shouldn't deter you from exploring. This place is a hidden gem where you can easily spend an hour observing crabs and various birds. Although there's a visitor center, I didn't spend much time there. It's a great escape from the city.
Mark J — Google review
A rare gem in the city for such a conservation site. Foreigners pay RM 20, a bit pricier than Malaysians. The boardwalk also looked little fragile an dangerous. The main flaw is the trashes on the land. A beautiful environment of nature takes everybody's effort to maintain.

Located in Seremban, the Seafood Restaurant offers an epic dining experience with a focus on fresh seafood. Guests can choose their fish or prawns from tanks and watch them being prepared right before their eyes. The menu boasts a variety of seafood options catering to different tastes, all made with fresh ingredients that are evident in every dish. The ambiance is delightful, featuring cozy garden-inspired decor and attentive staff who enhance the overall experience.
Had my CNY day 2 dinner here. Super good food plus pleasant service by crews. My all time favourite will be the dry curry lamb. You all should really give this restaurant a try. No regrets !

Had the roasted Mud Crab, the taste was excellent and the crab itself is very sweet. The original taste of fresh crab is fantastic. We also tried the Asam fish fillet which was beautifully cooked. Not too sweet, not too sour. Just cooked to perfection. Unfortunately we had finished the dish before I can capture any photos. Lastly, the tom yam noodle is a must try but only available only 830pm onwards.

We came per my bro's rave review, and it didn't disappoint! Located at KK's Jesselton Quay, this restaurant may appear quiet, but its culinary prowess is amazing. We especially loved the Thai style stirfry squid - it was tender and perfectly cooked with just the right balance. I'll have this to myself next time :-). The white clam with spring onion ginger was full of wok hei. So was the simple sabah veggy stirfry. The fried vermicelli arrived flat, almost like a pancake. However once we fluffed it up, lots of seafood pieces popped up full of wok hei. Yum! Tried the crab in steam egg per their recommendation - Nice! The pricing is abit on the high side compared to the local seafood restaurant in KK.

I absolutely love the steamed fish. Done well, soft, tender and fresh. The squid salad is something different somewhat similar to dishes from northern part of Malaysia where there's heavy usage of galangal, calamansi, tumeric leaves, something sweet & sourish. A nice classy and cosy place. Well kept, clean, and air-conditioned. Slightly pricier. Good service.

First impressions count, and Seremban Seafood Restaurant at Jesselton Quay certainly delivers on looks. With its contemporary design, posh ambience, and a welcoming atmosphere spread across both the ground and upper floor dining areas, it creates a comfortable setting for family gatherings, celebrations, or casual dinners by the waterfront. The service is warm and attentive. The staff make the effort to ensure guests are settled, though as with any growing establishment, there’s always room for improvement to elevate the overall dining experience. We sampled a variety of dishes—crab, prawns, steamed fish, sea cucumber, and butter chicken. The seafood arrived fresh and presented beautifully. Some items, such as the prawns and fish, felt a little undercooked to my taste. Perhaps this is the restaurant’s unique style of preparing seafood, which regular patrons may appreciate more. Personally, I found it slightly unfamiliar, but it may be worth exploring further as part of their signature offering. Overall, Seremban Seafood Restaurant offers a stylish dining environment, good service, and fresh seafood that sets it apart as a dining option in Kota Kinabalu. With some fine-tuning in preparation style to suit a wider range of diners, it definitely has the potential to become a go-to destination for seafood lovers in the city.

Chinese restaurant
Kuo Man is a popular Chinese restaurant in Chinatown that often sells out of its ingredients by lunchtime. This cycling trip visited the restaurant and found it to be delicious with good noodles and crispy roast pork. Despite recent media criticism, Kuo Man seems to be doing well with customers.
Incredible beef noodles! We were brought here by our local friends and this is a favorite among locals. The signature dish is amazing with a number of different beef parts in a light broth with lettuce and then you've got some accompanying noodles that have been tossed in soy. Noodles were very Al Dente and the chili sauce is top-notch! Then we also ordered a plate of the roast pork. The skin was so light and crispy and the under part seemed more smoked like a bacon or a ham as opposed to the traditional five spice powder and salt absolutely incredible! Came again the next day! Except this time for breakfast this time trying the fish noodles.

Every time I go to KK, I will eat here. And I go early to make sure I get to eat the best Yong Tau Foo in town. Sells out fast. Kuo Man has been around for yonks. I started dining here 36 years ago but no longer live in KK. The Lady Boss is older now with the next generation manning the counter. Give a thumbs up, if this post resonates with you. 🙏

Unexpected surprise. Was staying in the hotel across the street. Went out for dinner and I stumbled upon this little shop. It wasn't anything fancy or big crowd that attracted me, i was just feeling like having some noodle soup. When the dish came I was surprise by the generous portion of fish slices, fishball and prawns. It tasted great too !!

Famous for their fish ball fish paste and fish eggs but didnt have it today. Tried the beef stew, it is nice. Noodles are a tad bit soggy for me. But will be back again to try the fish stuff!

Food: salty broth and noodles, few lauk to match with the noodles. Noodles texture itself is pretty good. It is not "bad" but there are so many fish noodle competitions out there and the only unique thing they offer here is the "abalone" slices. Many items out of stock at 12:30pm Service: staff/boss who is taking order is impatient. The service staff is better and was regulated enough to be there to apologise for the forgotten orders. We had to remind them our drinks order and side order, because they really forgot and didnt bother to check.

This restaurant served up the best fried pork patty. The noodles were delicious, and so were the fishballs.

Good bowl of home made fish ball and fish paste soup. Personally not a fan of their noodles but my family says other wise.

It was fate that led me to discover this restaurant. When I was taking a grab cab to the hotel, the driver told me this place is famous for its fish balls and beef offal noodles, since just right opposite the hotel, me & my husband decided give it a try. I ordered the pork offal noodles with added the yellow rice wine, it was the first time I'd had such a rich & flavourful yellow rice wine broth. They were so generous with the rice wine, even more than I’d use when cooking at home, so delicious! I’m already starting to miss it now that I’m back in KL. For yellow rice wine lovers definitely need to try this! My husband ordered the beef offal, which he really enjoyed. The meat was tender, though the soup was a bit milder compared to what we’re used to. The weather was so hot, I thought of ordering a chrysanthemum tea to cool down. But when the drink served , we were stunned and surprised 😂, almost half cup of chrysanthemum and gave us a ”sieve” too! That’s unique!!! I was heard Ham jian bian is good too but personally I found it nothing special. As for the noodles, we found them nothing too special. However, the portions of the foods were large, easily enough for two people to share. They have many more choices of foods, definitely worth a try!
