One of the oldest “Tsipouradika” in Volos. The quality of the food is always the same. Its not the best you can find but you will not leave the place unsatisfied. The quantity of the plates is more than satisfied. If your goal is to taste tsipouro with lots of food its the perfect choice. If you need something different tou should look the choices near the port. Nevertheless “Bokos” will be always a safe choice if you are not sure where to go.

Absolutely outstanding! BOKOS OUZERI is hands down one of the best dining experiences I’ve had in Greece. The food was beyond delicious — every dish was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully prepared. You can really taste the quality of the ingredients and the passion behind the cooking. The atmosphere was warm and lively, perfectly capturing the Greek spirit, and the staff were so friendly and attentive, making me feel right at home. If you love authentic Greek cuisine, this place is a must-visit. Everything was simply top-notch — from the food to the service to the vibe. Can’t wait to come back!

Wow.... You order a tiny bottle of ouzo and get four small plates of food.... Then we also got two fish and some beet root salad. Diñner for four... About 40 euros. Fantastic food... Great service. Apparently this is only done in Volos.

A surprising museum from the past century that is actual manufacturing of bricks, building blocks, roofing and mining. It shows the real machines and manufacturing lines exactly as it was then along with the working personnel and the family that started the business.

Here you can see and learn a lot of interesting things to buy charming souvenirs. There are several restaurants in the area that offer a pleasant atmosphere and good food.

Very unique and interesting museum! It has a big collection of insects from all over the world and the story of the museum curator is very interesting especially for the kids! The visit must be scheduled earlier,we didn't know that, so we went without our appointment but the curator was very kind and received us without any problems! We recommend everyone to see this unique place especially families with kids :)

Must-visit when in Volos! Absolutely loved our visit to the Volos Entomological Museum! The host was incredibly informative and kind, making the experience even more enjoyable. The collection is both vast and amazing, offering a wealth of knowledge. We learned so many interesting things during our visit. I just cannot recommend this activity enough. Unique entomological museum, one of its kind in Greece and one of the largest private collections in Europe! Only about a quarter of collection is exibited, with beautiful butterfly collection and fantastic beetle species from scarab to hercules bug to silk cocoons and wasp nests! The tour offers great insight of world of insects, like mimicry, camouflage and adaptation and evolution, and the greatness of experience surpasses the showroom itself. And the enthusiasm of Dr Koutroumpas is obviously passed to the next generation, the tour was very interesting and fun!

It's one of the biggests insects museum in the world and it has a huge variety of insects. So many that they can't even fit in. The man who guided us was very friendly and has great knowledge on the subject. It's a must place to go if you ever visit Volos. The ticket is very cheap.

A great place for walking along the ships and admiring sunsets from tavernas across the street. The city of Volos is quite nice, with local wonderful shops, churches, restaurants. The difficult part is to find a parking place out of the burning sun.

Very nice place next to center of the city. You can have a walk or going with your bike. Crowdy especially in summer where you can travel to the islands of Skiathos, Skopelos and Alonissos. Full of yachts as you can see in photos.

The Port is a typical Industrial Port and the City is not nice. We have spend only around two hours ashore and went than again to our Cruise Ship...

Very nice... Cozy and neat! Be aware when a ship is coming or going there is a lot of traffic. Do park in designated parking areas, the fine is high... But the view is superb.

The Archaeological Museum of Volos pleasantly surprised us. It offers a fascinating collection of tools, jewelry, and everyday objects, dating back as far as 5000 BC. It was truly exciting to see in real life what I used to read about in school textbooks. All the information is provided in both Greek and English, which makes the experience accessible and engaging. We arrived on a Saturday around 11 a.m. and were the only visitors for a while, which gave us the chance to explore everything at our own pace. After about 40 minutes, a school group arrived, which brought a different energy — it was nice to see kids learning about their history. Highly recommended for a calm, meaningful visit!

Nice little museum a bit out of the city centre of Volos. They have three different exhibitions: one detailing the palaeolithic and neolithic findings from Thessaly, one detailing burial customs and steles from ancient Demetrias, and one detailing the history of Volos. They have most signs in English, at least the ones describing the artifacts, but the informational signs in the Volos exhibition are only in Greek. Overall, the museum can be visited in less than an hour, especially in the morning when there are fewer visitors.

Wasn’t expecting the extend of the exhibits. Great pottery collections. Need less than an hour. Building has been maintained inside and outside (garden needs some tlc), aircondition was working so was nice and cool inside. Paid EUR 10 entrance. Seems like entrance increased based on previous Google reviews.

Anyone who loves Greek history and has the opportunity to visit this place is a must visit. There is a lot to see about the history not only of this place but also of the whole of Greece. My recommendation for this historical museum.

Nice little museum. Entrance is 10€. Easy to visit in an hour if you have some time to spare in Volos. Pity that most of the larger informational signs are only in Greek.

I have very mixed feelings about this museum. On the one hand the exhibits are very good with interesting history and artifacts. There is a good amount of information available. It's a small museum but well put together. On the other hand, a lot of the information is only available in Greek. You can download a doc but it only gives an overview of the different exhibitions and a floor plan of the museum, nothing about individual objects. Having said that, I'm not sure that it's fair that non-Greek speakers must pay the same price or even more, and also at 10 Euro (29 Aug 2025), I feel they can really put in a little effort to also have everything in English too. There's supposedly some audio available that you can listen to for some things. But I asked the lady at reception and she said it's not working. Her English was very bad, so she might also have meant it's not available in English. So definitely make sure you take your phone with you and have an internet connection available so you can use Google Translate or a similar app to translate the various exhibit plaques.

The museum contains collections of Greek art. Neolithic objects, ceramics, jewelry etc...

Lovely place which transfers you to medieval. A good variety of local and imported beers. Don't miss to try the beer called plastiga which is a local beer produced in a small brewery in volos.

The place has very nice location, inside the complex of brick museum. Very interesting and cozy medieval interior, big choice of very good beers and very friendly staff. There are also live music nights. Place has also very nice and big terrace with an amazing view on the old factory wagons.

We have been for a light dinner, not exceptional meze. Avoid tables under the tent, especially on warm nights.

Food is just not tasty.Under avarage… I ordered meze and they served me a small plate of sardines with beans.Where are the other dishes a meze contains? Also we asked for a a grilled octopus which was faded.Only the bread was pretty good.Sorry..

Lepi is a great place with a friendly staff and great food. I met the new manager, as well as the young owner. They really went out of their way to help me, and orient me to Volos. The food there is really great. Please eat there; you will not be disappointed. The food is not expensive. I just eat a lot.

Busy restaurant at the port. You might need to wait for a little for a table. Quick and efficient service. Generally good mezes with tsipouro. Slightly loud as it is usually crowded with groups.

Looking for a place to taste the real local experience of Volos? Then you must choose to drink tsipouro at DIONISIS. Don't ask for the menu. Just for tsipouro and the side dishes that the kind personnel has prepared for you. That's the authentic gastronomical Volos Experience. Enjoy! :)

A very pleasent & non-assuming restaurant . Friendly and helpful service, and did I mention that the food was excellent? It sure was. Freshly prepared with fresh products. The family enjoyed the smoked eggplant and the zucchini balls, and I enjoyed the Tsipouro (one dinner the Lépi and the second night the idoniko - I preffered the Idono Tsipouro) but above all I loved the smoked cod. It went down amazingly with the Tsipouro.

A culinary experience to remember. The freshness of the fish and ingredients, the service, care and professionalism of the owner and staff, top! An ambassador of Greek filoxenia and seafood! Thank you!

Dentex fish was delicious! Advice for waiter: please specify that the price for the fish is per kilo. We' ve asked you 3 times the same thing and you've told us that is "for full, entire fish"

Loved them all : the food, people, atmosphere... Food: fresh, original tastes: fish , vegetables, hand made fries, delicious bread, tasty meat ( on the other hand: it's a fish restaurant by the sea , so it's better to eat fish stuff...shrimps , calamari... delicious!!! ) . Service very friendly and at the same time fast and efficient. Atmosphere relaxed and clean.... Don't forget to reserve a table: it's, always full ( but there is sufficient distance between tables) especially in weekends. A must at Volos.

Lovely place! We ordered an octopus, calamari and spaghetti with shrimps. I enjoyed all of them and highly recommend them. We received a complimentary tarama which was also delicious. The owner was very polite and told us about the history of the restaurant. You will notice photos on the menu and a picture on the wall which are telling the story of the restaurant. The waiter was very friendly and kind as well. We had a great time and we will definitely visit this restaurant again.

I got a chance to dine few times in this small tavern during my visit to Volos.If you love sea food, then you’ll enjoy your visit here. The food was amazing. Starting with small mezzos, to the main dish, it was authentic, fresh and tasty. The price was affordable and was worth the spend. The owner was a warm person and makes sure that you’re comfortable throughout the stay.

We visited this restaurant a lot of times and every time the attitude to wards the customers is getting worse order our starters and less than 15” the waitress came to take the plates and tell us is time for the main to come out we tell her not finish yet and the answer was is not my fault is the order of the chef is we have only 20” to eat the starters this is insane never come cross something like this in the most expensive restaurants anywhere very bad I don’t visit again

The place has very nice atmosphere and the dishes look great on the pictures. That said, I was unimpressed. Had higher expectations, especially for this price range. I wanted the tuna, bad luck, they were out. We were recommended a salad with pieces of beef and mango that had no coherence at all. I wanted to try the liver with peaches, I wanted it rare and the waiter recommended medium. I accepted and they brought it done. My wife pasta was good, and our friend salmon fine. Still, the attitude of the waiters and the time they took to serve doesn't match the bill. Specially when my second dish came and my wife did not... Will not come back.

This has been the best meat i ate for a long while. The young veal steak with espresso sauce! Was really something. The restaurant was very empty and the table I sat was outside with a boring view. I reckon, due to the emptiness waiters were not that attentive but pretty friendly. I could hear no music which is a downside. The vine was superb.

Eating there for lunch I had a really excellent cherry tomato salad and pasta dish with truffle cream. Also enjoyed some perfectly cooked mussels, which are often served overcooked at other restaurants. Everything was wonderfully prepared and exceeded my expectations. Highly recommended. I will go back.
