Chorsu Bazaar is a bustling and historic market in Tashkent, Uzbekistan. It is renowned for its vibrant atmosphere and diverse offerings, including local foods, souvenirs, clothing, and household items. The market's iconic blue domes add to its charm. Established in the Middle Ages and expanded with 20th-century additions, Chorsu Bazaar remains a top destination for tourists seeking an authentic shopping experience and an opportunity to practice their bargaining skills.
Interesting place to get a glimpse into local life. Main hall has meats, cheeses, dried fruits, etc. Adjacent areas have fruits, herbs, clothing, etc. Plus there’s an area that has freshly prepared foods. Great place to spend a couple hours exploring.
James W — Google review
A very cool meat market, but it’s all the same. There’s an upstairs with dried fruits, spices, nuts and seeds. The sellers are very engaging and try to convince you to stop at every stand. Hygiene isn’t of huge concern, the smell of death is in the room and birds wander and poop right in the goods. I’ll label this one “authentic”.
Jonathan P — Google review
Very good bazaar easily reached by the Metro. You can happily spend an hour wandering through all the stalls and being "surprised" by what's on offer. Certainly worth the effort to visit.
Ian H — Google review
Fun place to visit for the wide variety of produce, especially dried fruits and nuts. However, be sure to visit the supermarket before you buy anything. Most of the same food products can be purchased there at very reasonable prices and no silly haggling.
Patrick S — Google review
Excellent shopping district. There is everything. Even Souvenirs & cloths for tourists. Bargain hard & you will get a good price. Flowers, seeds, grocery, clothes, shoes, etc.
Waseem — Google review
The best place to shopping souvenir to bring back home and the place you get everything in Uzbekistan.. The food heavens also.. Dry fruits, biscuit, chocolate, clothes, beef and poultry product..event plants also there..
Min M — Google review
I’ll be honest, blue dome looks amazing. But inside upon entering is meat and only meat. Outside much better so many options to explore like shop or eat food or clothes etc. get ready to give at least 2 hrs to see small part.
Vineet B — Google review
Authentic place to see The sellers are but more aggressive than other places in Uzbekistan The prices are better than in Bukhara or Samarkand I did see two people throwing up there Birds are pooping into the goods so don’t buy stuff if you are very careful about hygiene

Hazrati Imam Complex in Tashkent is a remarkable conglomerate of historically significant monuments, including the Muyi Muborak Madrassa, Barak Khan Madrassa, and Tillya Sheikh Mosque. Originally constructed in the 16th century as a tomb for one of the first imams of Tashkent, this complex has evolved over the centuries. Visitors can explore architectural wonders and a vast library housing one of the world's oldest Korans.
Khazret Imam Ensemble. The ensemble of the monuments began to take its shape around the burial-place of Kaffal ash-Shashi (903-976), the first Tashkent’s imam and propagator of Islam. It was he after whom the square was named Khazret Imam (‘Saint Imam’). In 1541, a Mausoleum was built over his grave. The main parts of the Khazret Imam complex are: Tilla Sheikh Mosque: This is one of the oldest mosques in Tashkent, with beautiful architecture and interior decoration. Mullah Kaffal Shashkiri Library: Especially valuable is the sacred Osman’s Koran, stained with the blood of Caliph Uthman, who was reading it at the time of his assassination in Medina in 656, and which is on display in the library’s special hall. Imam Hazrat Rukhobod mosque: Named after Imam Hazrat Rukhobod, who was famous spiritual. In the 19th century the the Juma Mosque was built, the huge Friday Mosque, with its bright turquoise domes. The Hazrat Iman Mosque, was constructed in just four months in 2007. The Khast Imam square with the architectural complex looks oriental and ambient, especially at night: thanks to the illumination, the whole complex resembles a mirage of a fairytale city floating in the air from old Middle Eastern fairy tales.

Fascinating place. Reporting from first week of September 2025, heavy construction work is ongoing around the complex and also inside. But still fine to visit shortly to see the buildings.

Wonderful experience. You get to see oldest existing Quran written by Hazrat Usman with his blood stains on Quran. There are also Qurans in different languages. Ticket price is 60000 som about $5 per person.

I visited this complex during my trip to Uzbekistan, and it was a beautiful place. The architecture is stunning, the turquoise tiles and details create such a peaceful and impressive atmosphere. You can truly feel the historical spirit of the place as you walk around. There are also small shops nearby where you can buy souvenirs and local crafts. I bought silk scarves and some paintings — all of them were beautiful and high-quality.
Zeynep A — Google review
A truly stunning place. Giant structures, bright colors and amazing tilework. Come during the day to visit. You will need to buy tickets. Return in the evening to watch light and sound show from outside the square. No tickets but come before the show to get better viewing spots. Check the timing at the hotel.
Vlad P — Google review
A perfect blend of heritage buildings and modern architecture, the Hazrati Imam Complex is truly captivating. I was amazed by the intricate wood carvings, brickwork, and tile designs throughout the complex. Entry is free for most areas, except for the Muyi Mubarak Madrasah, where the historic Mushaf Uthman is preserved. The peaceful ambience felt natural for a place rich in history and religious significance. The open spaces and beautiful gardens provide a perfect spot to soak in the serenity.
Shahirah B — Google review
I would give 5 stars but the complex is currently only partly accessible, there are construction materials everywhere and you cannot get into many main buildings. Nevertheless, a must when you visit Tashkent

The Minor Mosque is a modern architectural marvel in Tashkent, Uzbekistan. Constructed with traditional marble features, it boasts towering minarets and a striking turquoise dome. Despite its lack of historical heritage, the delicate interior decoration makes it a must-see attraction. Opened in 2014 on the banks of the Ankhor canal, this grand mosque quickly gained recognition as one of Uzbekistan's significant spiritual centers.
Minor Mosque – A Peaceful Gem in Tashkent The Minor Mosque is one of the most beautiful and serene places to visit in Tashkent. Located near the Ankhor River, this stunning white marble mosque is a relatively modern structure, completed in 2014, yet it carries the elegance and peace of classical Islamic architecture. The exterior is breathtaking with its tall white minarets and large turquoise dome, which shine beautifully under sunlight or in the evening lights. Inside, the prayer hall is spacious, clean, and warmly welcoming. The atmosphere is calm and spiritual, making it perfect for reflection, prayer, or just peaceful observation. The air-conditioning makes it very comfortable even during summer. Non-Muslim visitors are also welcome and often amazed by the detailed interior designs and calligraphy. The mosque is well maintained, with clean ablution areas and organized entry. It’s also wheelchair accessible. The surrounding area is beautifully landscaped and ideal for photography or a quiet walk. Minor Mosque is not only a place of worship but also a symbol of modern Islamic culture in Uzbekistan. Whether you’re a local, a tourist, or simply someone looking for a tranquil spot in the city, Minor Mosque is definitely worth visiting. ⭐ Highly recommended for peaceful vibes and cultural beauty.

The Minor Mosque is one of the most beautiful and peaceful places to visit in Tashkent. Its stunning white marble architecture shines brilliantly under the sunlight, giving it a calm and majestic presence. The mosque is modern yet built in a traditional Islamic style, offering a perfect mix of elegance and spirituality. It is located beside a serene canal and surrounded by a large, lush garden that’s full of greenery and very well maintained. The clean and peaceful environment adds to the overall experience. I had the opportunity to pray Juma Namaz (Friday prayer) here, and it was a spiritually fulfilling experience. The mosque is spacious and well-organized, making it a comfortable place for worshippers. It’s especially beautiful during sunset when the mosque takes on a golden glow. Easily accessible by metro or taxi, the Minor Mosque is a must-visit for those interested in architecture, culture, or simply seeking peace.
Kaif K — Google review
I came here for a Friday prayer. The masjid is located in a very beautiful area. It sits next to a river, and has a large courtyard in front and a walking garden in the rear. There is a cemetery past that garden. While the interior of the masjid is on the smaller size, it is beautifully decorated with calligraphy and setpieces. The surrounding area is lively and has many places to visit for shopping and dining after a visit to this masjid. There is also a women's prayer area.

Ced A — Google review

The masjid is spacious and well-maintained. I offered Juma prayer there, and the Azan, Takbeer, and Tilawat were deeply relaxing.

The white mosque. It is incredibly serene and majestic. Try to come during the evening to see the laminating light.

The Minor Mosque is one of Tashkent’s most beautiful and serene landmarks. Clad in white marble with a striking blue dome, it stands gracefully along the Ankhor River, offering a calm and inviting atmosphere. Its elegant architecture, intricate details, and spacious courtyard make it a perfect place for quiet reflection or a peaceful stroll. Whether you’re visiting for spiritual reasons or simply to admire its beauty, the mosque leaves a lasting impression.

Produce market
Alay Bazaar, also known as Oloy Market, is a historic market located in the heart of Tashkent. Established 150 years ago, it has been a central hub for trade and cultural exchange. While not as bustling as Chorsu Market, Alay Bazaar offers a more convenient and manageable shopping experience for both tourists and locals.
Pretty cool place to wonder around for a couple of hours. There was a central market area for fresh meats, vegetables, fruits and nuts/spices. The outskirts has a specialty food area with a very impressive selection of luxury/imported foods from around the world. The imported food is understandably a little expensive, but not terrible. The stall owners are less pushy than some of the bigger markets. Highly recommended.
D C — Google review
This is a market in the Oloy district. There is a large dome-shaped sales area near the main street, and behind it is a market under a large roof. There are many vegetables, fruits, and spices at the stalls. The products look very nice and are displayed neatly. Many of them are wrapped in plastic. There are also many restaurants, and I had lagman. By the way, there was no beer. The renovated [BAXT-NAZIR Мясные И Молочные Продукты] is excellent, and on the first floor they sell cheap sweets and drinks, and the sweets and juices were quite delicious. They also have coffee, but it looks like it's been roasted a long time, so take a closer look. The toilets are 3,000 soʻm
Daisuke S — Google review
It's a good bazaar much smaller than Chorsu. Fruits vegetables available in abundance. There are some good restaurants also available around Alay Bazaar.
Waseem — Google review
A lot smaller and manageable than the Chorsu Market. It as a tourist, you still pretty much get what you want like dried fruits and nuts and Uzbek souvenirs like Suzani, wood carvings ceramics etc. Locals told me that it’s a market for the rich so prices maybe a bit higher but quality is better too. Did not do detail price comparison but found it to be reasonable compared to local supermarkets. The place is very clean.
Han L — Google review
On the positive side, the market is clean and has a nice open area. However, Alay Market is quite expensive, and they charge tourists much higher prices. It’s disappointing. Instead of overpricing, they should aim to make tourists feel welcome and offer fair prices to encourage more people to shop
Khawla A — Google review
It doesn’t have the same character that Chorsu Market does . Easier to get around . Also, there is a supermarket by the side
Swiss — Google review
Wide variety of dry fruits and fruits, but expensive compared to other market however it’s worth buying.
Mohamed H — Google review
A quality show of fresh local produce in a clean and open environment. I loved haggling with the locals. If you’re a tourist you will be ripped off, but thankfully it will only amount to pennies.

I visited Tashkent City Mall to exchange currency, as I didn’t have any soms (Uzbek currency). The mall has several forex shops and is impressive both inside and outside. There’s a great display of vintage cars and a wide range of stores—from cars and clothing to food. Opposite the mall are the beautifully lit Tashkent City Park and Hilton Hotel, where you can enjoy a fountain show and stunning evening lights. A great place to visit, both for shopping and sightseeing!

Lefteris S — Google review
I recently visited and had a pretty enjoyable experience overall. The mall has a great mix of both high-end and more affordable stores, offering something for everyone. I was particularly impressed with the spacious layout, which made it easy to navigate without feeling overcrowded. The food court was another highlight—lots of variety, from quick bites to sit-down restaurants. I appreciated the cleanliness of the common areas, and the restrooms were well-maintained, which is always a plus. Parking can be a bit of a hassle during peak hours, but there’s plenty of space overall. I also noticed a lot of kids’ play areas, which is great for families. The only downside I’d mention is that some stores feel a bit overpriced, but that’s to be expected with this kind of mall. Also, I think more entertainment options (like a movie theater or arcade) would make the experience even better. Overall, it’s a solid mall with a good atmosphere, convenient amenities, and a wide variety of shopping and dining options. I’d definitely recommend it if you’re in the area!

Pro.Khinkali is a Georgian restaurant with a vibrant interior featuring ethnic motifs and an open kitchen. The restaurant offers an authentic dining experience with delicious Georgian dishes in a cozy atmosphere. Guests appreciate the attentive staff and the beautifully decorated space adorned with green plants. The menu, available in English, features tasty options like khinkali and cabbage rolls. Visitors also praise the polite staff who strive to assist guests despite language barriers. Overall, Pro.
I recently visited Pro. Хинкали and was very pleased with the overall experience. The atmosphere is cozy and welcoming — perfect for enjoying traditional Georgian cuisine with friends or family. The хинкали were delicious — juicy, flavorful, and freshly made. You can really taste the quality of the ingredients. I also appreciated the variety on the menu, offering both classic and unique fillings. The staff were friendly and attentive, always ready to give recommendations or explain the dishes. Service was quick and professional. Prices are reasonable for the portion sizes and quality you get. I would definitely recommend Pro. Хинкали to anyone who loves authentic Georgian food and a warm, casual dining experience. Looking forward to coming back!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 5/5 Pro.Khinkali was one of the most impressive restaurants I’ve visited in Tashkent. They serve authentic Georgian cuisine in a modern and impeccably clean environment. The restaurant is exceptionally hygienic — the kitchen is completely transparent, allowing guests to watch the chefs prepare each dish. This level of openness creates a real sense of trust and professionalism. The staff were truly outstanding — polite, attentive, and very professional toward tourists. Their hospitality and service quality were exceptional. I honestly felt so embarrassed that I couldn’t leave a tip, as I didn’t have any cash with me at the time. I truly regret that, because they absolutely deserved it. I sincerely thank the entire team for such a wonderful experience. I’ll definitely come back and highly recommend this place to everyone. 👏

We had heard great things about the lamb here, so all six of us decided to order it and were really looking forward to the experience. The meat was indeed tender, but unfortunately, it was a bit too salty, which took away from the overall flavor. The service left much to be desired. While the waiting staff were kind and polite, the food took far too long to arrive, and it was quite difficult to get the staff’s attention when needed. Even something as simple as a small doughnut took nearly half an hour to be served.
U A — Google review
Aug 2025 By far, the best FnB experience in Tashkent to date. The customer service and engagement is top notch (on par with the food). The waitress are attentive and very pleasant to engage with (versus other Uzbek restaurants which looks like they want to pick a fight with you). Kudos that the wait staff realised we are not local and gave us an English menu (very attentive!) Good intro to Georgian cuisine (albeitly localised to Uzbek taste), but still good nevertheless. Reminds me of "Puri" and "xia long pau" back home ... Shows that food can cross cultures. Definitely will return again.
SY N — Google review
This Georgian restaurant, nestled in the heart of Tashkent, impresses with its elegant and tasteful interiors and a diverse menu that spans from beloved Georgian classics to lesser-known regional specialties, along with some new, more exciting and creative reinterpretations adding a modern twist to the timeless classics of the Georgian cuisine. We couldn’t resist trying their cheburek, an unexpected addition to a Georgian menu, but absolutely outstanding in taste. The khinkali, including the fried version, which I initially approached with some skepticism, turned out to be some of the best I’ve ever had. Hands up for their selection of Georgian wines and top notch service, simply impeccable. All in all, this was a very pleasant dining experience as this restaurant definitely stands out for its authentic, unique and delicious cuisine in the somewhat monotonous Tashkent’s culinary scene.
Francesco C — Google review
Truly an amazing experience! The Khinkali were very flavorful, the wine was fantastic, and the honey cake was the best cake I ever had. This restaurant should be on your list if you are in Tashkent!

It has nice ambience and good service. But… I ordered chicken shmerkuli, and i was server raw chicken! And they said that’s Georgian recipe to eat like this.. never heard anything like that before. Visited in September 2025. Uzbekistan 🇺🇿 Tashkent. We chose Pro.Khinkali based on glowing reviews, expecting a delicious meal. The spacious interior, adorned in vibrant Eastern style with an open kitchen, creates an engaging atmosphere where you can watch the chefs at work, adding a layer of transparency and charm. FOOD: The restaurant serves Georgian cuisine with a distinct Eastern flair. Naturally, we ordered khinkali—a must for any visitor—along with chebureks and a grilled lyulya kebab. The beef khinkali were impressive, with thin, smooth, well-seasoned dough encasing a rich, flavorful broth. The meat was tasty and well-spiced, though a few pieces had unwelcome sinews, which slightly marred the experience. The chebureks were stunning: golden, crispy, puffed-up dough filled with perfectly seasoned, sinew-free beef mince, delivering a juicy, satisfying bite. The lyulya kebab was equally delightful, made with quality meat and paired with a fresh tomato salad. The vegetable salad was a great side, with ripe, crisp veggies that complemented the meal beautifully. SERVICE: The service was warm and professional. When we mentioned the sinews in the khinkali, the manager promptly assured us that the batch of mince would be inspected, showcasing a commitment to quality that every restaurant should aspire to. As a kind gesture, they offered us a complimentary dessert, which was a lovely touch. VERDICT: Plov Project is one of Tashkent’s finest restaurants, delivering exceptional food, warm service, and a vibrant atmosphere. Watching khinkali being crafted in the open kitchen is a fascinating bonus. Despite a minor hiccup with the khinkali, this was our best dining experience in the city, and we highly recommend it to anyone visiting Tashkent.

Köşebaşı is a Turkish restaurant located in Tashkent, offering delicious Turkish cuisine. The restaurant has a perfect location and provides good food and service. Customers have praised the lamb dishes, breads, and salads while noting that the hummus was disappointing. The ambiance could be improved by dimming the lights according to some visitors. Despite some language barriers with the menu being purely in Uzbek and Russian, the staff is described as great and attentive.
Very chic restaurant in the boulevard and perfect for dinner with friends. Super clean. Kids a friendly and can offer a baby chair. Authentic Turkish food. Recommend: Choban salad, Turkish soup, shish tavuk, lahmachun, mini meal (kids) and beyti kebap. Tea was on the house 👌🏻Shahzod was our waiter and he was super friendly and speaks English as well. Fantastic first meal in Tashkent. We had breakfast and it was excellent. The staff was so helpful and attentive. We ordered the set breakfast and they brought out so much food. The lamb dishes, breads and salad were very good. The hummus disappointed. Ambience can do better by dimming the lights (it was too bright inside). The menu was purely in Uzbek and Russian, and only 1 staffer could speak in English. For some reason, none of our international credit cards worked; thankfully we had cash on us. Tip: Foreigners should always make sure to have cash ready.

No doubt, if you want good food here in Tashkent, stick with what the locals do best, that is local Uzbek cuisine. Just don’t expect to walk into an Italian restaurant in Tashkent and expect Italian food with quality and taste that you find in Italy. I walked into this restaurant without any expectations but was rather OK with the food. I ordered bolognese spaghetti and side dishes of spinach + garlic, corn kernel, and grilled mixed vegetables. The quality of the food was OK. Everything was well presented. Nothing was under or over cooked. I was there at about 5:30pm so the place wasn’t busy. My food got served under 15mins. Prices are steep if you compare those to prices of local cuisine around the area. Would I dine here again? Yeah. Why not

This place has been around for a while and I finally got to visit for a birthday dinner. Food is pretty average but it's good enough for what you would expect from a western restaurant in Tashkent. Was a little disappointed with the wine selection and had to pay extra service charge for having our own bottle. Definitely disapprove the big screen and random Russian pop music in the background, which totally against the beautiful decor of the restaurant.

we 4 guys went there around 9pm and then ordered 2 local bottle of wines and cheese plate. the thing is there's no customer but for us. the server gave us some intangile pressure to go out around 10pm despite of the closing time is 11:30. she forgot the one of the our order, green tea. and they advertised they accept the visa/master card but they accidentally the machine is not working so we had to go to the ATM at that night. I don't want someone to have that kinda experience

A great dish of lamb which is tender and delicious. We held a meeting here because the place is suitable well and there as a special room with comfortable seat. Every waiter can speak English fluently. Must try once in your life then so will be impressed them👍

Generally quiet on the two occasions I've eaten here. But the food....🤤 amazing. First time had a creamy prawn pasta and went back the next night for a perfectly grilled ribeye. 5/5 from me!
Carlton J — Google review
Had a dinner there with a colleague. Place is quiet (looks like the turnover had been hit by the pandemic and hasn't fully recovered yet). The owner is very friendly and speaks good English - recommended the best options in their menu and put his best for forward to make a couple of tasty vegan dishes that weren't on the menu. BYOB is fine for a small corkage fee. Not a Michelin worthy or trendy pace but, overall, one of the best dining experiences in Tashkent.

Delicious Turkish Restaurant in Tashkent. Eggplant salads is a must try dish: crispy on the 1st bite but soft afterwards, with a nice sweet flavour at the beginning and ending with some spicy twist. Trilece fistiki and soguk baklava were also of another World 🤤. Do not miss it if you visit Tashkent!

My family took me there another day for dinner. I was very surprized and amazed of the place, food, staff, and extra amenities (playground for the kids). I felt like I was in one of the Sultan's Palace being treated like an honored guest. It's not easy to describe all the experience so please visit this place and see it on your own. You won't regret. Day 2

Southwest side of town
For day 2, we recommend exploring the southwest side side of town. Start the day off with Tashkent International Airport, then wind down and take it easy by the time you get to Amir Temur Square. All together, your day would be filled with about 7 hours of non-stop fun.

International airport
Airport
Tashkent International Airport, situated approximately 10km from the city center, offers easy access with numerous direct flights from various countries. The departure terminal is well-maintained and provides a clean and organized atmosphere for travelers. The shopping experience at the airport includes a variety of stores offering essentials and luxury goods. While souvenir shopping is available, it's recommended to visit Chorsu Market for typical souvenirs due to higher prices at the airport.
I recently traveled from Pakistan and arrived at Tashkent International Airport, and I must say, the immigration process was handled exceptionally well. The officers were highly professional, respectful, and efficient throughout the entire procedure. From the moment I approached the immigration counter, everything was clear, fast, and well-organized. Despite being an international traveler, I felt completely at ease thanks to the polite and welcoming attitude of the officers. A big thank you to the Tashkent immigration team for providing such a smooth and hassle-free entry experience. It truly gave me a great first impression of Uzbekistan!
Hamza T — Google review
Tashkent International Airport (TAS). Tashkent International Airport, the busiest airport in Uzbekistan, offers a functional but somewhat dated infrastructure. While recent renovations have improved parts of the terminal, certain areas still reflect an older design with limited seating and compact waiting zones. However, efforts have been made to enhance traveler comfort through improved lighting, air conditioning, and expanded check-in counters. VIP and business lounges provide more spacious and quiet environments for those with access. The airport staff are generally courteous and cooperative. English proficiency among personnel is growing, especially at immigration and airline desks, though some language barriers may still exist. Security and customs staff tend to be serious but professional. Assistance for elderly travelers and families is available upon request, and airport guides are usually ready to help with directions or boarding procedures. Flight punctuality at Tashkent Airport has seen gradual improvement, though occasional delays still occur, especially during peak travel times. Coordination between airlines and ground services has become more efficient in recent years, contributing to better time management. Security screening is thorough, with several stages including passport control, customs checks, and baggage inspection. While this process may take time, it reflects the airport’s strong commitment to safety and regulatory compliance.
Lefteris S — Google review
Tashkent International Airport is neat, clean, and well-organized. It’s a medium-sized airport, so the check-in and immigration process is usually smooth and quick—you won’t face much hassle getting inside. One thing that stood out during security check was that all passengers are required to remove their shoes for scanning, regardless of the type. Usually, only leather shoes are checked more closely at other airports, but here all footwear goes through the scanner—something to keep in mind. Inside, the airport has a good variety of shops, including souvenir stores, food stalls, lounges, and more. The interior is nicely decorated and some areas are inspired by traditional Samarkand-style architecture, which adds a cultural charm to the space. Overall, it’s a pleasant airport experience and a nice gateway to Uzbekistan.
Kaif K — Google review
I recently took a flight from here and everything was a bit slow right from check-in to immigration to security. There is a lot of room for improvement. The airport looks new from inside and it looks good. All prices are in USD or EUR.
Vishal S — Google review
Tashkent Airport is clean and functional but not exceptional. The facilities are modern enough, and staff are generally polite, though lines at security and passport control can be long. There are a few cafes and shops, but limited seating and spotty Wi-Fi. Getting to the city is easy by taxi, and the airport is close to downtown. Overall, it’s an average airport that works fine but could be more efficient and comfortable
Muhammad K — Google review
Unfortunately, my recent experience at Tashkent International Airport fell short of expectations. While the airport has potential and a few positive aspects—such as its central location and decent runway operations—the overall passenger experience left much to be desired. The terminal felt outdated and lacked proper signage in multiple languages, which made navigation confusing for international travelers. There was minimal communication from airport staff, and it was difficult to find someone who could assist or provide clear instructions, especially during security and immigration procedures. The waiting areas were overcrowded, with limited seating and not enough amenities for passengers during long layovers or delays. Restrooms could have been cleaner and better stocked, and food options were very limited, with high prices and little variety. I understand that no airport is perfect, but I hope serious improvements are made in terms of infrastructure, organization, and customer service. Tashkent is a gateway to a beautiful country—its airport should reflect that.
Q K — Google review
Arrivals: The airport is small. We were transported by a bus to the terminal and through the doors were immigration counters. The line wasn’t long and the officers processed visitors in a timely manner. The baggage belt was pretty slow. There is one exchange counter on the left corner and an airport taxi counter (green) in the centre. SIM cards are available at different counters. Exchanging money, getting a sim, booking your taxi can all be done while waiting for your bags. Once out there was a rush of taxi drivers. For booking a Yandex you will need an Ozbek phone number and e-sim without the phone number won’t be accepted. Departures: go to the first level via escalators for check-in. Immigration and airport security follow and are quick. Lots of duty free shops with some selling souvenirs as well. Many places to sit. Transported to the plane by a bus again.
Zareen M — Google review
Chaotic and poorly managed check-in experience. Passengers were cutting the line, passing huge amounts of luggage forward, and pushing to get ahead. Staff — including the manager — saw the situation and did nothing to control it. Felt unsafe and stressed. Worst airport experience I’ve had; completely disorganized.

Family restaurant
Caravan is a popular restaurant in Tashkent known for its warm and friendly atmosphere and the presentation of Uzbek cuisine. It offers a wide range of international meals but is designed to favor national dishes, making it a favorite among the expat community. The restaurant's partially shaded courtyard and beautifully decorated rooms create an ambiance reminiscent of a Silk Road caravanserai, complete with Uzbek handicrafts.
Caravan is definitely worth a visit when you are in Tashkent! The decor and ambiance of the restaurant are stunning. Both the outside and inside seating areas are gorgeous and picture-worthy. The staff is very welcoming and friendly. The food is delicious, we ordered the pita bread, Greek salad, flatbread with dip, somsa's and baklava. All was tasty. It is a bit on the pricier side, but the food is worth it!
Carlijn M — Google review
We had dinner here our last night in Uzbekistan and really enjoyed it. The outside courtyard area was very atmospheric. The service was good and the food was very good for the most part. Unfortunately they were out of plov but we had a number of other good dishes. The salad with charcoal cooked eggplant and other veg was particularly good. Lamb skewer a bit gristly but all other dishes were very good. Would definitely recommend.

Visited in September 2025. Uzbekistan 🇺🇿 Tashkent. We stumbled upon Caravan on our guide’s recommendation, and it didn’t disappoint. The multi-story space is grand, with summer terraces and a wooden interior exuding Eastern elegance—apparently a favorite among celebrities, adding a touch of allure. FOOD: The restaurant specializes in Uzbek cuisine, and we came for the plov, available in two varieties: a festive “wedding” version and a leaner, steamed-rice option. Both were delightful, with tender, fluffy rice, sweet carrots, raisins, and meat, each with its own charm. The leaner version won us over with its varied meats and sweet accents like raisins, though both were excellent. The mini samsas were a highlight—flaky, crispy dough packed with a generous, juicy meat filling that didn’t skimp on flavor. The brisket, however, was a miss. Expecting a juicy, fatty, hosper-grilled cut, we got a dry, almost overcooked version reminiscent of basturma, though its smoky flavor added some charm. Complimentary salads and spreads were a nice touch, rounding out the meal. SERVICE: The service was friendly and welcoming, with dishes arriving fairly quickly. While not the most polished or efficient, the staff’s warmth made the experience pleasant enough. VERDICT: Caravan is a solid choice for traditional Uzbek cuisine, steeped in history and popular among tourists looking to experience local flavors. With its spacious, beautifully designed setting and tasty food, we left satisfied. It’s a great spot to showcase Uzbekistan’s culinary heritage, and we recommend it for a flavorful, atmospheric dining experience.

Average food probably not better than what you can find in a supermarket. Lamb was awful: just skin, fat, ribs and a little layer of meat. The meat itself was dry and bad tasting. I have to confirm the other negative reviews: over-expensive and poor quality. Decadent environment... Btw, I got a dirty dish, as well the table cloth was stained.

The highlight is really the atmosphere here: the restaurant is beautiful and the live music is amazing. A great immersive experience for tourists. The food was ok, hit and miss dishes: -dolma 6/10 -samsa meat 5/10 (chewy lamb) -samsa potato 7/10 -Georgian Kinkalis 10/10 (amazing taste) -borscht 8/10 Caravan seems to be a chain as we had their food in the mountains also and seemingly they have a restaurant in Khiva also. Staff spoke English and were very professional. However, this was also our most expensive meal in a week across Uzbekistan, paid 470,000 UZS (27 GBP) for two. I recommend you sit in the garden outside rather than upstairs which has less atmosphere. Takes credit cards.

Museums
The Museum of Applied Arts in Tashkent is a captivating destination showcasing a diverse array of traditional applied artworks. Established in 1937, the museum boasts an extensive collection of over 30,000 handicraft samples and jewelry, including rare handmade embroidery and Persian-style decorative panels known as 'syuzani.' Visitors can immerse themselves in the cultural context of ceramics, wood carving, and textiles that are prevalent throughout Uzbekistan.
We had a city tour of Tashkent and the only museum we had in the program was this Museum of Applied Arts. It’s a nice small museum for 30-40min which is enough for a day tour. It has much to do with Amir Timur history mainly about the production and dwelling. In terms of the country history I would prefer History museum. Anyway, it’s a nice place if you are short in time and in the area. They have good coffee stop.

The State Museum of Applied Art and Handicrafts History of Uzbekistan. The State Museum of Applied Art and Handicrafts History of Uzbekistan provides an excellent introduction to Uzbek history and culture. Ιt displays more than 7,000 examples of traditional folk art. These include a range of mediums from decorative glass to porcelain and fabrics, all dating from the first half of the 19th century to the present. The museum houses in a palace, with traditional architecture features, a layout and elements common to mosques and to late-19th century aristocratic households. The central hall is a traditional mehmonkhona, a word that roughly translates as “guest room”. Designed like a mosque, it is square-shaped with four columns and a mihrab. However, the palace’s mihrab only plays a decorative role here. The room truly awes its visitors and is a museum piece in and of itself. The two contemplative inscriptions above the doors are written in Persian but with Arabic writing: “The world is like a caravanserai with two doors, they enter through one, and they leave through the other,” reads one; “And every day there are more and more new guests in this caravanserai,” says the other. The museum provides an audio tour.
Lefteris S — Google review
A small but very charming museum that really brings Uzbek folk art to life. The QR/audio guide is clear and easy to follow, and if you take your time it gives you much more than just a quick overview - you actually get to enjoy the stories behind the art. What makes it special isn’t only the exhibits, but also the setting: it’s inside the historic Polovtsev House, once the palace of a Russian diplomat. The building itself, with its woodcarving, mosaics, and decorative details, feels like a masterpiece alongside the collection.

The restaurant has a lovely local atmosphere and serves beautifully presented, high-end dishes. However, the portions are very small for the high prices, and there’s an automatic 15% service charge — yet no complimentary bread or even water is provided. It feels overpriced for what you get. On the plus side, they have a selection of local wines and beers. I wouldn’t return, but if you’ve got money to spare and are after a fancy dining experience, it might be worth a try.

Well established restaurant. Long menu of typical Uzbek food. We were served by younger lady who was not realy good in any language (only Uzbek and Russian), but we got well across the ordering process and entire meal. We started with different sallads and thzn followed by superb plovs (also vegeterian), selection of beef and chicken shashliks, different type of manti and on the end delicios deserts. We ordered also Uzbek Merlot. Great restaurant , highly recomended.

Amir Temur Square is a grand public space in Tashkent, Uzbekistan, featuring an equestrian statue of the famous Turkic conqueror surrounded by modern architectural marvels and verdant parks. It serves as the heart of the city, with major boulevards shooting out in every direction. Visitors can explore landmarks such as the Amir Timur Museum and the 19th-century brick facades of Tashkent State University of Law.
Amir Timur, was a powerful 14th-century conqueror and the founder of the Timurid Empire. He is a highly respected historical figure in Uzbekistan, seen as a symbol of strength, leadership, and national pride. In Tashkent, his statue stands proudly in Amir Timur Square, right in the heart of the city. The statue shows Amir Timur on horseback, holding his hand up with authority, dressed in regal armor. It’s surrounded by a well-maintained park and framed by important buildings like the Uzbekistan Hotel and the Amir Timur Museum. The square is a popular spot for both tourists and locals, offering a glimpse into the country’s pride in its past. Visiting the statue doesn’t require a ticket, and it’s especially beautiful in the early evening when the lights turn on and the atmosphere becomes more vibrant. It’s a great place to take photos, relax on a bench, or simply take in the historical weight of this iconic figure

My visit to Amir Temur Square was one of the true highlights of my time in Tashkent. As the beating heart of the city, it beautifully combines history with modern life. The centerpiece; the majestic equestrian statue of Amir Temur;is both striking and symbolic, a proud reminder of Uzbekistan’s rich heritage. I had the chance to experience the square both during the day, when it was calm and peaceful, and at night, when it came alive with light and energy. The surrounding architecture; the grand Palace of International Forums and the iconic Hotel Uzbekistan; framed the space beautifully, adding to its charm. Whether it was enjoying the greenery, pausing by the fountains, or simply soaking in the lively atmosphere alongside locals and visitors, every moment felt special. Amir Temur Square is a must-see in Tashkent for everyone visiting the country;an experience that feels different yet equally memorable, day or night.

A lovely well kept park with impressive flowers and trees throughout. There’s a good amount of seating and some quiet secluded sections too. In the Centre is the great monument, perfect for photos with the buildings in the background. If walking round the outside of the park there are only two sections where you can enter, but there are more pedestrian paths under the main road. A great spot in the city worth taking a stroll through.

Amir Temur Square – The Historic Heart of Tashkent, Uzbekistan. Amir Temur Square is one of the most iconic and central public spaces in Tashkent, dedicated to the great 14th-century conqueror and national hero, Amir Temur (also known as Tamerlane). At the center of the square stands an impressive bronze equestrian statue of Amir Temur, clad in armor and raising his right hand in a commanding gesture. The monument was erected in 1993 and replaced the former statue of Karl Marx, reflecting Uzbekistan's shift from Soviet legacy to national roots. The inscription on the pedestal reads “Strength is in Justice” — a quote attributed to Temur himself. Surrounding the square are significant architectural landmarks such as the grand Hotel Uzbekistan, the Amir Temur Museum with its blue-domed roof, and several government and academic buildings. These structures reflect a blend of Soviet monumentalism and modern Uzbek architecture, creating a striking urban landscape. The square is not only a historical site but also a lively gathering place for locals and tourists alike. Its well-maintained gardens, shady walkways, and central location make it a popular destination for photos, leisure, and city strolls. For visitors, Amir Temur Square offers a vibrant piece of its present-day capital.

This traditional pub offers a wide selection of beers and dishes from European, English, and Irish cuisine. With its warm ambiance and traditional interior, it provides an authentic Irish experience combined with exceptional hospitality. The menu features popular dishes like steaks with various sauces, pork shin, and fajitas.
We came to The Irish Pub & Restaurant with colleagues as one of them was a regular visitor here and enjoys this place. I have never been here before although I know about this place since the beginning. I had 4 drought beer of 2 kinds and they were both good. We were on the 2nd floor and there were few people around, so it was quite and nice atmosphere to talk with colleagues. Football fans gather on the 1st floor I guess as it was full, people were loudly speaking and it was a pub atmosphere. The toilets are clean. The beer is 2USD. They have beetroot chips that are quite unusual, but interesting to try Although they have a problem with quality as some chips pieces were delicious and some tasted as they were burned out. Anyway, I like the beer, atmosphere and I will definitely come back here again. Recommended.

stopped in here en-route back to hotel for a mid-afternoon snack. The local lager - Bamberg was delicious. The aubergine tempura was the right mixture of crispy on outside and silky in middle. The garlic bread was sensational - best garlic bread ive ever tried. The lentil soup was tremend. 10/10 would try again
Joseph K — Google review
Excellent local beer on tap. Friendly staff. Bar seats, inside tables and outside tables available. Garlic bread was very good as was the smoked cheese. Allows smoking inside which is a bit of a bother for non smokers like me. But great place.

One of the most genuine PUB in Tashkent , nice ambient and Guiness was original . The best part is staff and manager are professional and take care about customer choices . Music was good , a bit loud but OK. Recommended when you are in tashkent

The worst Irish pub I’ve ever stepped foot in!!!! Nothing Irish about the place?! Full of British football team flags and memorabilia. Maybe they need a history lesson.
Rob — Google review
Not really an Irish bar per se but a grand spot for a beer if in the area. Didn't try the food other than a small snack which was nice enough. Outside area looked nice enough. Fast service.
Denise M — Google review
Nice place to hide from the heat, but they allow people to smoke inside, so that forced us to sit outside. Not much of a beer selection either. 15% service charge even if you order a pint at the bar. I could accept everything else, but smoking indoors in 2025 is unacceptable, so strange. Probably the only establishment in Tashkent that allows it.
Gabriel V — Google review
Had a quick lunch here. Fantastic place. Nice food. The Bamberg Draft beer is awesome here. Also, the staff are very courteous. Waiting to come back soon.

Delivery Restaurant
Gruzinskiy Dvorik, also known as Georgian Yard, is a popular restaurant in Tashkent offering a warm welcome and a taste of authentic Georgian cuisine. The interior is adorned with artwork by renowned artists Niko Pirosmanishvile and Lado Gudiashvili.
Honestly I could not have had a better meal or time at Gruzinski Dvorik. It was on my list of places to visit in Tashkent and it didn't disappoint. HUGE portions and very attentive staff. The music was great as well. And on the way out, while i was waiting for my uber, the manager insisted I have a drink of some local liquor with him. Which was delicious and fragrant. Would definitely come again. Fantastic vibe.

I ordered four different dishes, and each was excellent. I also enjoyed the Georgian wine. The price was acceptable as well.
Reza F — Google review
5/22/2022 - Nice ambience, nice staff, great food, their house red wine was hearty and felt solid. Over all a different taste than the other Uzbek food, I would whole heartedly recommend, I am not sure if the food was over priced, it felt regular and top quality. Check the pictures, language is a barrier for me but all the dishes that I have shown were authentic and fantastic.
Ivan J — Google review
Everything was good. Waiter service was perfect . It could have 5 stars, if the price was acceptable for an average citizen of Uzbekistan. But if you don't have any problems with money, you can visit this location with your friends, family and so on. I have been visiting this place for a long time, even birthdays of my family members we try to visit this restaurant.

Food is good but a bit overpriced (c. 100k for a main dish and side), the wine is ok but really overpriced. They accept credit cards but don't have WiFi.

Hostel
Art Hostel is a vibrant and cozy accommodation in Tashkent, Uzbekistan. It offers relaxed dorms and private rooms, with an outdoor pool for guests to enjoy. The friendly staff provides great services and assistance, making the hostel a comfortable and welcoming place to stay. Guests can indulge in delicious meals served three times a day.
We had a wonderful stay! The host was extremely cordial and welcoming. The rooms and shared toilets were impeccably clean. Although we had to check out early and couldn’t have the complimentary breakfast, they thoughtfully packed lunch for us instead — a truly kind gesture. Highly recommended and a definite must-stay!

I had an amazing experience at Art Hostel — it's so much more than just a place to sleep. From the moment I arrived, the atmosphere felt creative, cozy, and welcoming. The staff were super friendly and made me feel right at home. I loved how every corner of the space was thoughtfully designed with artistic touches, murals, and quirky details that gave the hostel its own unique character. The rooms were clean, comfortable, and surprisingly quiet at night. The communal areas were perfect for meeting other travelers, with a relaxed vibe and good music always playing in the background. If you're someone who enjoys creativity, good conversations, and affordable travel with a bit of soul, Art Hostel is the perfect choice. Would definitely stay here again!
Lovish G — Google review
I really enjoyed my time at art hostel! The beds are good, clean common bathroom (with a lot of funny posters) and a nice common area/kitchen. There is a pool and small gym outside which is a nice bonus. People running the hostel are very friendly (except for one lady who is a bit harsh). The location is also very good as its quiet, but also close to the metro and a bussin area with many shops and restaurants. This is definitely a hostel to consider when visiting Tashkent!
Julien W — Google review
Probably the best hostel in Tashkent. The buffet breakfast is amazing. A good selection of freshly made and healthy options. The room has AC and there is a pool and good sized common area. Everything was cleaned consistently and their is on-site secure parking. Staff are great too. Would recommend 110%

AVOID IT IF POSSIBLE. I didn’t have a good experience at this hostel. They didn’t accept payment by card even though there was the information in Booking.com they did. When I asked if they took euros for laundry, she said they did, when I gave her the 2€ in coins, she said she wouldn't accept it. Shower rooms were dirty and there was no separation men from women, and the shower I used once the hot water pressure was terrible, it took a while until it got actual pressure. Also, the room had no blinds so if you are sensitive to light, i'd recommend to use eye mask. There was barely no space to open our bags and no proper lockers either. And my sheets were dirty as well. We had the most uncomfortable situation where there was a man in his UNDERWEAR in the room, I stayed in the mix dorm. I did not feel comfortable raising the issues with the staff, given the previous issues at check in and payment. The only positive thing about this hostel was the breakfast, which was buffet and had great variation.
Yuki S — Google review
The hostel is well located, but the rating isn't deserved. It has a pool, but it's dirty, so no one could swim in it. The cleaner didn't clean it. The receptionist wasn't very friendly, but she was still having a bad day. The breakfast was fine. The room I had was also fine. Basically, the only negatives were the cleanliness and the receptionist's bad temper.
Javier M — Google review
+: Breakfast was great. Best one during my trip in Uzbekistan. Rooms were okay for the price. -: We are 2 persons who booked the quadruple room (for 4 persons). Only 2 electrical sockets were working. Did you deliberately turn the rest off? Location quite far from the metro station. 10-15 walk.
Angela L — Google review
We were looking forward for our stay here due to the great reviews and reccomendations, but got notified the day before our arrival that we would be moved to another hotel from the same group due to overbooking. We ended up cancelling and booking elsewhere as having the swimming pool by our side was a must during peak summer. I believe that the hostel is high quality but it was a bit of a bummer, specially due to the very short notice. The low rate speaks for the disappointment with this process, and not for the quality of the hostel.

Guests can savor Uzbek, Lebanese, and fusion dishes along with a variety of vegetarian and seafood choices. Easily the best food we had in Uzbekistan. Everything was delicious and the service was great. We ordered two eggplant dishes and the samsa. We also visited on a separate occasion and had some great cake. Expensive for Tashkent but a great dining experience.

This is a very high-end restaurant. Plov 170,000soʻm Beer(0.5l) 100,000soʻm (including all tax and service) You get to eat in a high-end setting that's hard to access on a regular basis, there's a wide selection of alcoholic drinks, and the staff are very efficient. I feel that these services and the atmosphere of the place are what increase its value. The portions are large quantity.

It was the first day in Uzbekistan when we discovered this place while walking around. The food was really good and after eating in different cities, I can say that the best plov to my taste was here. Our waiter Nurillo and Muslim were both very good in terms of recommendations and serving.
Damla K — Google review
Food was decent not outstanding, but solid. Delicious eggplant salad and cauliflower. Nohat Shurak and Sea Bass were fine but a bit lackluster and flat. Price on higher end for Uzbek standards

Nice service and delicious food! I really enjoyed the ambience. I ordered the fried lagman and pumpkin somsa, and before the food arrived, they served complimentary bread. Everything tasted great. I’ll definitely come back again. Highly recommended!

Really enjoyed this place. The atmosphere was nice and the music gave it a good vibe. The meze were tasty and the chicken shish was cooked well. Our waiter Axror was polite and attentive, which made the experience even better. Overall, a comfortable spot with good food. I’d come again.
