Nuneaton in 1 day

If you only have 1 day to spend in Nuneaton, we’ve narrowed down the top places you should check out to get the best experience of your time here.
Nuneaton offers insight into the life and work of Victorian novelist George Eliot, with a museum and local landmarks linked to her legacy. The town’s Riversley Park and nearby Hartshill Hayes Country Park provide green spaces, walking trails, and views over the Warwickshire countryside. Its central location makes it a practical base for exploring historic sites in Coventry, Warwick, and the wider Midlands. The local museum and art gallery, along with regular markets and events, add modest cultural interest for visitors.
With favorites like Riversley Park, Ropewalk Shopping Centre, and Hartshill Hayes Country Park, we’ll make sure you don’t miss out on all the must sees. We even included some of our favorite food spots around the area, like Classics and Tim Hortons so you can get the best taste of Nuneaton while you’re here. To see our full list of food recommendations, check out our best restaurants post. If you're traveling on a budget, you can check out our cheap eats post.

Ropewalk Shopping Centre

Shopping mall
Nestled in the heart of town, Ropewalk Shopping Centre is a vibrant destination that caters to all your shopping desires. Originally known as Queens Arcade, this modern shopping hub opened its doors in 2005 and boasts an impressive glass roof that illuminates the main walkway. With two floors filled with a variety of shops, it offers a pleasant atmosphere for shoppers of all kinds.
Very light and cheerful, with a selection of stores cafes and a gym. There is also plenty of seating and space with toilet facilities on the upper level, accessed either by lift or escalator.

Over priced ‘Cash only’ for a bad car park with nothing working and 70 % shops empty - a sad state of affairs - TKMAX + COSTA + HMV is about all there is
Richard H — Google review
Me and my husband came into town for a coffee coming to rope walk to have a look in HMV. My husband needed to go to the toilet, but the lift was out of order and one of the escalators I was out of order to How is a disabled person meant to get upstairs to use the toilet?
Sunny W — Google review
Higher levels of car park blocked off , only 1 lift of 4 in the building working . The lift that is working only allows access to town centre streets at ground level ( you exit opposite the council house ). 1 escalator working , the one that takes you up to the payment for parking level . The 2 main car park lifts have been inoperable for so long , I can’t remember when they last worked but at a guess I’d say possibly over a year 🤔 . The middle of the centre lift that is a god send for disabled people & mothers with pushchairs or prams is off limits too , just a big purple sign pointing to the stairs not even a sorry for the inconvenience. I for one will find somewhere else to do my Christmas shopping this year & I bet I won’t be the only one . It’s a disgrace in there , even the cash machine is out of order. Nuneaton & Bedworth borough council you are killing this once vibrant and bustling town centre.
Jill G — Google review
I visited today, many stores and everyday shops - relatively tidy and okay
Jared R — Google review
Such a shame, first time visit from Coventry and it's just full of empty units. There are a handful of decent shops but it is severely lacking in any atmosphere. Parking is very cheap which is a good thing but that's pretty much it. Escalators and lifts were not working either.
Mujahid A — Google review
Not a great place unfortunately. So many shops closed down and the escalators and lift going down were not working. A woman in a wheelchair did not know until she wanted to get back on the ground floor. Her husband was with her so I didn't stay to see how she got down, maybe a lift in car park
Margaret T — Google review
Lifts not working again, it's impossible if you have mobility issues. At least point a notice advising this before parking.

Park
Riversley Park is a tranquil and well-maintained formal park located near the town center of Nuneaton. It offers various attractions such as a play/water area, tennis courts, cycling paths, and a bandstand. The park features formal flower beds, topiaries, and war memorials with a restorative view from the entrance to the Nuneaton Museum and Art Gallery.
This spacious green area near Nuneaton town center is a delightful place to visit, especially on sunny days. It offers scenic walking paths and features a small, free museum with a café, adding to its charm. Parking on-site is limited, but alternatives are available at Sainsbury's or the Ropewalk, though note that card payments may not be accepted. It's a great spot for a daytime outing or dog walking, but I would recommend avoiding it after dark.
Ketan P — Google review
I visited nuneaton for the 1st time today, and this park offers a calming environment, its clearly well maintained, lots of green space and benches with a river going through it, good for picnics, there's also war memorials here!

Nice place to walk around. Has a museum, kids play area and walking area. can see lot of people in small groups enjoying their day out there.very close to the town centre.there Sainsbury's store near by just in case anyone wanted grab something. One could responsibly feed the ducks in the stream that pas through the area, overall a great place.

Riversley Park is a lovely well maintained park in Nuneaton Town Centre. It ideal for walking the dog, picnics by the river and listening to bands and groups at special events in the bandstand. The museum and tea rooms are very.popular too

This is a large green space located near the town centre of Nuneaton, it’s really nice to have a walk around if a sunny day and also has a little museum which is free and has a cafe. Not much parking on site but you can park at the local Sainsbury’s or at the Ropewalk, although they don’t accept card payments. It a nice place to visit during the day, however I would probably avoid going after dark, also a good place for dog walking.
Timothy J — Google review
A fabulous park in Nuneaton town centre, location for Nuneaton Pride, fabulous entertainment for all the family, amazing to see so many colourful people. Bridges cross the river, a lovely swings and play area, also has a museum, war memorial and art gallery in the grounds. An excellent facility for Nuneaton.
Neil 1 — Google review
What a lovely green open space for children, dog walkers and families to use. Pity about the rubbish members of the public drop when there are plenty of bins nearby. The lake and river running through the park could do with a clean up, again people drop rubbish, traffic cones and shopping trolleys into both. We should all work to protect and preserve our green spaces, within our towns and cities

Bermuda Adventure Soft Play World offers great value for money with its affordable prices. This family-friendly establishment has a spacious indoor play area that includes various slides, a bouncy castle, a football area, and even a massive fish tank. Additionally, there is an outdoor play area with slides as well. The facility seamlessly integrates all these attractions, providing endless entertainment for children. The on-site cafe serves both hot and cold food options, although the availability of hot food is limited to specified times.
Visited for the first time. We were impressed by the centre, especially by how big the toddler area was. It is a lot bigger than most. The staff were friendly, helpful , and proactive by conducting routine cleaning tasks. The food was nice and reasonably priced. Oh, and our boy loved the fish! We will be back! *Please double-check where you park, as if you park in the wrong car park, you will get a fine. It says this on the website and on signs outside the centre.*

Nice and quiet during the week. Space was clean and the softplay is fab. Nice spot for smaller babies and the bigger children have a 3 tiered jungle gym. Free for under 1s which is amazing. Food was okay too 😊 will definitely return.
J P — Google review
Kids really enjoyed it. Easy to book and reasonable pricing. We went on a Saturday and was expecting it to be packed, but they keep the numbers at a sensible level. Food and drinks were nice enough, I've had much worse at other soft plays. Parking is ample and everything looked nice and clean. Would visit again.
M W — Google review
Nice place but it was a shame they locked the door to the playground bit at the back. When I asked a staff member if we could go out there (it wasn't raining or anything) they just said we can't (with no reason), which was upsetting to my little boy as well. I totally understand if the weather is bad or another reason (if there had been one) but when the sun is out and we've paid for entry, why not unlock the door so we can enjoy the facilities? Other than that, decent soft play.
Jo F — Google review
Very good place , but very bad management, we entered around 10:20 and we've been told the session will end at 11:20. however, since 11 they told us to leave!! and at 11:10 it's the final message and the facility will close. this is completely ridiculous and unprofessional, eventhough the next session will not start till 11:30 so they arill have 10 minutes to tide up the place.
Beshr A — Google review
Would be good if the ball pit vacuum worked. There could also be more slides but overall a solid soft play. Food/drink prices are average for a soft play and the quality is decent.
Ben S — Google review
We visit quite often for the kids to spend some time having fun. However, during school holidays, it can be pretty crowded and very noisy (this is understandable due to kids' energy) .

Cocktail bar
Bar & grill
British restaurant
The Fuzzy Duck Cocktail Bar & Gastro Kitchen offers contemporary British cuisine and beverages in a vibrant and modern setting, complete with outdoor seating. While my overall experience was positive, there was one minor issue with the service. After our main courses were served, we felt somewhat neglected and had to seek out a server to inquire about dessert options. This happened approximately 30 minutes after finishing our mains.
Been here this afternoon to take advantage of the 50% off mains. Had a lovely meal, had a boneless mixed grill, lamb Rogan josh, egg fried rice and two cheese naans. Food was really good, particularly enjoyed the fish pakora which we wouldn't normally order. The curry had a really nice flavour but it was too oily. Cheese naan was really nice and dips with the poppadoms were really tasty. The lady serving us who I assume was the owner was lovely and friendly, as was the lad bringing out the food. Would definitely recommend and we will come again
Emma — Google review
I have been to this place twice since it changed to Bailey's. Both times the food was absolutely 10/10. Honestly, I am a big noodles man and my missus is a big curry girl and we both thought it is banging. Service needs sharpening but that's all. I feel a bit lost like: Do I wait to be seated or just sit down? Do I pay at the bar or do you come to take payment? I also booked a table but wasn't sure if the nice lady really understood me over the phone. Didn't feel like I had a table booked when I got there I just said 2 people please and we got taken to one. All in all would deffo recommend ✅

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Absolutely Delicious! I recently visited this curry house, and it was an outstanding experience from start to finish. The service was flawless friendly, attentive, and perfectly timed. Every dish was packed with authentic flavor, beautifully presented, and cooked to perfection. The balance of spices was just right, and you could really taste the freshness of the ingredients.

I had such a great experience at this bar and grill! The atmosphere is relaxed yet lively, making it perfect for both casual nights out and catching up with friends. The staff were welcoming and attentive without ever being overbearing. The food was delicious—generous portions, cooked just right, and full of flavor. The drinks were well-made, with a nice variety of options on the menu. Everything came out quickly, and the quality really stood out. Overall, it’s the kind of place you’ll want to come back to again and again. Highly recommend if you’re looking for good food, great service, and a fun vibe!
Sukhman B — Google review
Im Indian and know what Indian food should taste like, unfortunately this place is a massive NO NO and I won't ever eat here again, had the Baileys special mix platter some chilli chicken naans and fries and if im honest the tastiest thing from there was the chocolate mints we got when we left. King prawns were about 2cm long, sheesh kebabs and chicken had a weird texture and taste, and lamb chops were not nice at all. The whole venue looks amazing but they should have saved some of the money from decorating this place and got a better chef. For food it's a 1/10 from me and my 3 guests. Search for THE ARCHES ( now owned by Kushi Grill for authentic Indian food) less than 1 mile from here
Robin S — Google review
I dropped a friend off for a family event and had a few hours to pass. I wanted to try a local place, so decided to give Bailey's a go! The service is very genuine, warm and kind. The interior is beautiful and I felt very comfortable. I ordered mixed meat noodles with salt and pepper chips. It came to about £15! That is exceptional value. The food itself tasted fantastic. It wasn't perfect, but I enjoyed it thoroughly. The quality of the food also far exceeded the price of it. I live about 60 miles away from here but if im in the area, I'll definitely be coming back.

Lovely walk and great views. The boys loved the woods and it was nice and cool and shady out of the hot sun They also enjoyed the play area. Sadly we were a bit too early for the cafe it wasn't opening until school holidays

Lovely place for a walk in the countryside. Great views of the valley from the start with benches to enjoy coffee or a picnic. Car park not too expensive at £3 for the day. Children's play area too. Ordered the corned beef salad with beetroot coleslaw pickle and half a baguette. What arrived was a small piece of part baked “baguette”, a slice and a half of beetroot, a teaspoon of coleslaw, no pickle, and lettuce/cucumber/tomato slices (no dressing) which was no more than a garnish. Most underwhelming salad I’ve ever had.

I grabbed a coffee from Tim Hortons today and it was perfect! The flavour was smooth, rich, and fresh – just the pick-me-up I needed. Big thanks to Muaaz for the great service, he was friendly and welcoming which made the experience even better. Definitely one of the best coffees I’ve had recently – highly recommend

When they first opened they were great. But they've recently gone downhill & are frankly not worth the money. I recently ordered a "Christmas toastie" which featured two cubes of turkey, a tiny rasher of bacon and no Cranberry sauce (see photo). The potato lattices were not fully cooked. Considering the meal cost £7.30, I'm somewhat disappointed. They also need to sort out their smoke extraction system as the entire restaurant has a thin haze of smoke from the kitchen, this could pose an issue to those with Asthma or other sensitive conditions.

Delicious, comforting food at a reasonable price. The nacho loaded fries were a bit soggy, but the taste was good enough to more than make up for that, which says a lot. The chicken burger was tender, and the frappes were amazing, especially the peach and raspberry. Do watch out for wonky tables, but otherwise, well worth a stop by over McDonald's!

The food great with plenty of options for vegetarians. I tried the meatless chicken burger with maple bbq sauce. Was really surprised on how tasty it was and the best part.,. Real cheese not the plastic American stuff. The mac and cheese bites were the highlight for me. Had to finish on my fav of Boston cream doughnut. Can’t wait to go again.

I came here last night with my girlfriend for the first time. As it was nearly midnight, the place was very quiet and that led to a really nice vibe. I think price wise, it is slightly more expensive than what it should be considering what it is. For a fast food place, I feel £10 (depending on drink choice) can be a little steep. The fries are nice but can get cold quickly. They wrap your burger up in foil so it doesn't get cold, which I feel is a nice touch. The blueberry drink I had was very good. The real confusion point for me was how one doughnut on their "deluxe" range was in the region of £3+. That's a lot of money for a single item. Though really nice, I feel the box for £13.99 was a little excessive. If you have the budget, get a doughnut with your meal as they are good. Definitely not worth the £3+ in my opinion. I'd say try here but prices are definitely on the high side for fast food.

Their set meal for two is delectable, satisfying, and reasonably priced. Great place for dinner, very friendly staff and plenty of seating. Simple but decent range of drinks and some nice choices on there menu. We had Pork and prawn dumplings and Veggie spring rolls for starters, both delicious. The staff, including friendly faces like Kai and Brian, are known for their exceptional service—always ready to assist with a smile and ensure your experience is memorable.

Attleborough arms is a great all round pub, the food is good, with a lot of variety, the staff are really friendly and attentive, and they have a lot of events going on to keep people coming in, i’ve not had a chance to catch the live music on weekends yet, but I do love coming down the for the free quiz

A very cosy and classy venue with that small town pub vibe. Amazed by the amount of events going on. Might have more chance winning the Thursday quiz night then Wednesday poker. Hahahaha

Great lunch with friends. A staff member called Amy welcomed us with a friendly smile and showed us to our table. We enjoyed our time there very much.

Dog friendly pub with good food. Friendly locals but children not allowed. The decor is in need of some TLC. Large carpark at the rear with 3 fast chargers for EV's
Robert A — Google review
Food was poor, very tough and cold steaks, overcooked mushrooms and tasteles, dry chips. We ordered one rare and one medium steak, there was no visible difference between both. The pub wasn't busy, but the staff were not showing any interest. The drinks were better. Overall, it was a disappointing experience for us.
