Located just outside Poole and close to Bournemouth, Tower Park is a vibrant entertainment center offering a wide array of activities for visitors of all ages. The complex features a 10-screen Cineworld cinema, Splashdown indoor water park with thrilling slides and attractions, Mega Bowl for bowling enthusiasts, and Buzz Bingo for those feeling lucky.
Excellent place for the kids. Loads of slides and lots of fun inside and outside. We went on sat 5th July and the lifeguards were excellent. Happy, friendly, cheerful- it really makes a difference. Only thing that's a bit strange is that there isn't actually a normal pool for swimming 😂
Ross K — Google review
wonderful place. Vibrant with big playground. And got almost all major fast food restaurants!
Abdul B — Google review
I've been going to Tower Park since I was a kid and always loved it there! There have been a few face lifts over the years, and it looks like another one is underway, which is looking really good. This time we went to the cinema, which has recently changed to a Vue cinema. There's been a major revamp, which looks brilliant. I loved it! Lots of atmosphere, the smaller screen 3 that we were in was lovely, with nice, big reclining seats, undisturbed view, loads of leg room. My 5 year old didn't even need a booster seat! The foyer is quite different to how it was before. Its all very self service and funnels you through the various stations for popcorn, sweets, icecream, soda etc. There's also a massive double fridge of alcohol with a huge range of options and price scales. I was hoping for a coffee, but the only option was a tiny Lavazza machine in the corner, but that was the only letdown. Overall a great cinema experience and a lovely day out with my little one. I'll definitely be going back!
Fliss A — Google review
Absolutely brilliant. So many different, and varied food chains, taco bell and KFC to name a couple. Lots of different shops to visit, along with an arcade and absolutely INCREDIBLE waterpark! The area is always clean, however the car park is very crammed and there really isn't much room between cars
Ollie — Google review
Lots of leisure facilities, like splashdown, cineworld, buzz bingo, fast food and restaurants like Five Guys KFC, burger king pizza hut, taco bell, nandos, sweet shop, arcades family and over 18s.a big Tescos, big ball park and free parking but weekends can be very busy. Days all you can eat buffet restaurant shut down due healthy safety for the 3td time.
Hug D — Google review
Interesting to see but extremely crowded, hot (no fans or air conditioning) and lots of stairs. We paid to get in and nearly immediately left. It was a cool day outside too. I would hate to be there on a hot day.
Joli L — Google review
For the 1st time in ages I went to Tower Park, to the Vue cinema which was great 👍 Excellent seating!! A vast improvement on Cineworls's roller-cosster ones!! Parking spaces available and nothing negative to say.
Footy G — Google review
Lots of building work going on at the moment hopefully will be worth it in the end. The Vue cinema is now open it's nice inside not but at the moment doesn't have the same atmosphere as Cineworld did the staff were very welcoming and friendly and helpful but this is my first visit so will have to wait and see

Water park
Water & Amusement Parks
Leisure center
Splashdown, located in Poole's Tower Park complex, is a premier waterpark offering a thrilling experience for visitors of all ages. With 13 exhilarating indoor and outdoor flume rides, as well as 3 splash zones for young children, there's something for everyone. From the high-speed drop of Infinity to the rapid descent down the Screamer, there are rides tailored to different levels of bravery and group sizes.
Recently went to the Splashdown Poole and it is a fantastic waterpark, which has a mix of indoor and outdoor attractions. It’s perfect for families, with thrill slides like The Screamer and more relaxed options like the Red River Roller. The park is generally clean but can get busy, especially on weekends and holidays. Lockers are available. they just need a pound coin to use it, and staff are quite friendly. Note that some rides have height restrictions and the children area is closed for refurbishment, so younger children may have limited options, though there are plenty of family-friendly rides.
Faisal K — Google review
We visit splashdown every year for the last few years and there has never been a slide closed. There are a great variety of slides. That said, the place is getting a little tired with rust coming through here and there and the outside slides could definitely do with a jet wash. The changing rooms are always clean if a little too wet on the floor if I’m being picky. A great afternoon. (We booked 2-5pm on a Thursday of half term) and wasn’t too busy. The maximum we waited was around 10 mins for Velocity but pretty much walked on the rest of the slides. A great venue. At £22 per ticket for 3 hours it’s not too bad value for money but for a few pounds less you could book 2 hours as a cheaper alternative.
Mark — Google review
Would not go during the holidays again. Like all these places they let to many people in and you spend most of the time in queues. In 3 hours we did each slide once.
Tom P — Google review
A great, efficient and entirely enjoyable 3hrs with the kiddies! Great slides, all working bar the really bubba rings. Honestly, book 3 hrs and you will be fully slide and ringed out by the end.
Giles H — Google review
The kids had a great time. We sat outside in the seating areas for spectators which were very clean and tidy. Free drink for spectator made having to pay not so bad. Some of the slides looked a bit tired from the outside but all still safe and great fun. Value for money, 3 hours sliding for £22 each.
Helen S — Google review
I really enjoyed my time at Splashdown, there is a wide variety of high quality rides, and while the layout does leave you feeling slightly claustrophobic, they are truly just making 100% use of the space. The changing rooms were very cramped though. Luckily, the outdoor slides were open, which provided a lot more variety. Considering it was a summer holiday day, the queues were short, mostly between 5-10 minutes with one or two 20 minute queues. I think 22 pounds a person for 3 hours is fair pricing for what you get.
FarisB — Google review
Definitely an activity for those thrill seekers! Strong confident swimmers will have a wonderful time. Not really suitable for younger children at the time we went and we could not spend time as a family in the pool that was available as its only for small children and my eldest was told to leave the area by staff
Lisa G — Google review
In generall, the park is great. The rides are fun. Even though the place has seen better days, It's still a must go place if you live in the South of England. The amount of people is concerning because you spend most of the time there in a queue. But I recommend this place and will visit again.

Wimborne Model Town & Gardens is a charming attraction located in Wimborne, Dorset. It features a 1/10th scale model of the town's streets, shops, and gardens as they appeared in the 1950s. Visitors can explore the intricately detailed models and prize-winning gardens while searching for clues with fun family worksheets provided free of charge. The site also includes a designated safe play area for younger visitors called Wendy Street.
Honestly, I was just looking for a place to pass some time I had to kill and I didn't have any particular expectations. I didn't expect to spend more than 15 minutes here, but before I knew it I had overrun on my pay and display parking! I found the whole model village fascinating. Not being from the area, it took me a worrying amount of time to realise it was actually a scale model of the actual village! But once I realised this, I could've spent a very long time comparing the village to Google street view. The model railway exhibition was okay, but the Lego exhibition was surprisingly interesting! Well worth the visit!

A hidden gem in the heart of Wimborne! Wimborne Model Town is a beautifully crafted 1/10th scale replica of the town as it was in the 1950s. The attention to detail is amazing – you can peer into tiny shop windows, spot nostalgic brands, and even walk the streets like a giant! Great for kids with quiz trails and interactive bits, but just as enjoyable for adults who appreciate the history and charm. There’s a tea room, a model railway, and even a sensory garden. Lovely staff and a peaceful, fun experience overall. Best on a dry day – mostly outdoors. Highly recommended for a relaxed visit full of character and nostalgia.
Melanie H — Google review
Café was great! Perfect portion for kids. And price is amazing. The price of the admission is also good considering that it turns into an annual fee. We spent a couple of hours here coloring, playing instruments, reading, playground, imagination and finding clues around the town. Highly recommend coming with kids.
Hery D — Google review
I love visiting model villages around the country. I already visited a few and this one is one of my favorite. It’s quite small but there’s a lot of details to see so you can stay for an hour or more. You can even watch inside the windows to see the life of the miniature people. It’s so cute! And they also have a small museums with doll houses and railways.
Melanie M — Google review
Cute little model village, with a sensory garden, small mini golf, model trains and 1950 memorabilia. Plus a nice little tea shop with clean accessible toilets. There's also a children's play area. We didn't stay long about 45 minutes, but you easily stay a bit longer if you play mini golf and eat in the tea shop.
Sara T — Google review
First visit here. Had a great morning exploring the village. Kids enjoyed finding the items on the sheet and story time in the kids play area. Model railway set up is awesome. Certainly recommend a visit.
Andrew T — Google review
Was a nice afternoon out with my grandson, and they had a little quiz going which he really enjoyed. There is a nice little shop and cafe as well as a putt and play. And once you are done seeing Wimborne in miniture, then you can take a nice stroll around Wimborne and visit the shops and various places to eat.
Helen T — Google review
Lovely day out at the model village We had a great day out at the model village with four friends. When you pay for your tickets, you get a year’s free entry, which is a nice bonus. The village itself was very impressive — all the shops and houses had detailed rooms with miniature people and furniture inside. The cathedral even had its own scene, and there was a hand-built model railway where you could press buttons to move the trains and other models. There’s also a café and a shop on site. We spent a wonderful couple of hours there — a great place for families and well worth a visit!

Located on the main square, The Kings Head is a 200-year-old traditional hotel with unfussy rooms and elegant styling. The bar and restaurant offer a lovely selection of English pub grub, real ales, lagers, and wines in a dog-friendly environment. Visitors can enjoy free parking and Wi-Fi at this establishment. Additionally, the hotel has received praise for its quality meals and excellent service from both the front of house team and kitchen staff.
My daughter and I spent the weekend at the Kings Head as I had always wanted to stay there having spent my teenage years living in Wimborne. The staff were so friendly, helpful and welcoming and we were settled in very quickly. Our room had a not very spectacular view but was clean with lovely comfy beds and the usual amenities. For a 200 year old building it is doing well although needing some TLC in various areas. Breakfast was great with a variety of options. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Thankyou to all at the Kings Head

Very warm welcome, staff are fantastic. We asked for a room overlooking the town square and the staff member was great and fulfilled our request. The room was very big and on first impression looked fabulous. We loved the decor but unfortunately some areas need attention. The furniture is tired and needs either updating or repairs. The bathroom was roomy but again needs attention. The room was fully functional and clean.

A pleasant surprise, far better than I expected. Rooms were a good size and had everything you need for a one night stay. Staff were very helpful and friendly, particularly Zoe at Breakfast. Free parking is a real bonus as this is right in the middle of the town. Would come back again without hesitation

I had lunch with 2 friends yesterday. We were warmly greeted by Zoe who showed us to our table and came back for our drinks order. Zoe also took our lunch order. We were served by Tom who was attentive and very smiley . Two of us had the King Prawn , chorizo and rocket risotto which was very good. Although we were the last to leave the restaurant we weren't hurried at all. Well done Zoe and Tom.

I have just enjoyed a freshly cooked lunch, with two of my friends. Our meals were served by Zoe and Lola who were very friendly and acknowledged us as regulars. Two of us had the special meal deal which is excellent value. Two main meals and two drinks for £27.50. We will certainly be returning when next in Wimborne.

Badbury Rings, located near Blandford Forum, is an Iron Age hillfort with circular ditches and ridges that offer a rich historical experience and stunning views of Dorset's countryside. It's a dog-friendly area, making it perfect for walking with your furry friends. Visitors can enjoy the 360-degree views and free parking, although the road to the car park has some potholes.
Lovely location with lots of views and space. Really makes you ponder what it was like as a hillfort and how the people lived. Great for dog walking and although lots of dogs ypu are not interrupted on your walk by them.
Sarah K — Google review
It's a beautiful walk and a beautiful wood, along pathways lined with bramble berries. Delicate miniature orchids grow amongst the grass alongside other wildflowers. Bees, butterflies and birds abound. We were disappointed that the Roman crossroad was not signposted, we'd have loved to have seen it. The history of this hill fort is rich. The views are gorgeous. Despite it being a glorious summer day, there were no other people around, we had it all to ourselves.
Lindy A — Google review
Exercise. Bring your hiking boots or running shoes to this place. It will give you a good workout whether you want it to or not so best be prepared. Easy to find and easy to see the Bradbury Rings are more like a nature walk with a lot of hills than a walk in the park. I loved it. I think my favorite thing was imagining a battle reenactment happening on the rings and the surrounding fields.
Mark T — Google review
Whether summer, winter, autumn or spring, Bradbury Rings is absolutely stunning and very much my happy-place. It's peaceful and calm, outstanding views, quit and secluded. Even when it's busy it's big enough that it still feels peaceful and as a dark skies venue is amazing and feels really safe to take the kids star gazing too 💕

I've been a few times over the years and Badbury has never disappointed on a nice walk , if that's just having a backup when with my mates or just another family walk before the pub. I would highly recommend anyone who hasn't been , it's great for families and couples alike. Also the sunsets are amazing

Nestled in the charming market town of Wimborne Minster, The Oddfellows Arms is a quintessential traditional pub that exudes character and warmth. Its unique location, sandwiched between crooked Georgian houses and a stunning Gothic Minster, creates an inviting atmosphere for visitors. Here, you can savor a refreshing pint of award-winning Badger Beer from Dorset while soaking in the rich history surrounding you.
The landlady has the smallest pub in East Dorset (Wimborne) but the biggest welcome. Traditional real ale, real people, locals pub. Excellent friendly service accompanied by on the counter hot Sunday roasties. Lovely beer, so good, we returned for more 3 hours later! Not to be missed
Mr T — Google review
A lovely locals pub , good music and a friendly non judgmental atmosphere with good company and excellent staff particularly Molly and pleased that Callum Brooks is managing pub. As I know he can after his refereeing his football teams !!
Gabriel P — Google review
The name of this pub perfectly describes it, but don't let that put you off. It feels like you have walked into someone's front room, which happens to have a bar. It is very small and cozy. I guarantee you will find yourself drawn into conversations and quickly feel like everyone is your friend. It is a proper social pub where locals will drop in for a drink after work for a chat. The landlord and bar staff are always very friendly. Good selection of drinks for such a small bar too.
David A — Google review
A proper pub, no food served but a friendly atmosphere, with TV and entertainment on some evenings and brilliant bar staff 👍

This is an amazing pub. It doesnt serve food but is probably one of the most welcoming places we've ever visited. Wendy is lovely and serves great beer and hosts an amazing folk night on the 3rd Monday of the month. Extremely talanted musicians performing some great music. We would have willingly have paid to attend but it's FREE.

Stayed here on the night of my wedding and couldn't fault it. The hotel is very nice and the rooms are lovely, we stayed in the Sandbanks room and when coming back it was decorated in petals (see pic). Hannah was very accommodating and went above and beyond. If you're on the hunt for an exceptional burger experience, look no further than Flaming Peaches. This gem in Poole serves up burgers that truly exceed expectations, rivaling even some of the best in the area. Diners rave about the perfect blend of taste and texture, with juicy patties complemented by delightful sauces and pickles. The friendly owners create a welcoming atmosphere that enhances your dining experience.
We only turn up as we were looking for something local while staying in Poole. The burgers are the best we had in while. Many people proclaiming themselves for Burger Gurus need to come and try these. Everything was perfect - the taste, the texture, the patties, the sauces, the pickles. If you are nearby ( it’s worth coming even if you are in Southampton). Well done to the team for creating a unique atmosphere and experience. (Sorry no photos as all finished quickly)

Order never arrived through Just Eat. Restaurant would not help, they admit orders regularly do not arrive to paying customers and they would not send out the order again or refund us, told us the only thing we could do is contact Just Eat for a refund, so we are £40 down and no food. When we asked why they continue to offer delivery with Just Eat if they are aware of these issues, the answer was "I don't know you will have to ask my boss". The restaurant would not help us. This was our first time ordering and we absolutely will not be again.

Fantastic food, service and genuine lovely people. Flaming peaches came to our event with their food van when we had been let down by another caterer and we were glad the other caterer decided to cancel on us! They were amazing! Can’t recommend them enough.

The burgers are amazing, you really don't expect the high level of quality however it comes out of the kitchen and you are amazed. I would put the basic burger on the same level as 7 bone basic burger. They've pretty much perfected it. Would love to see some dirty fry options as personally I prefer that to the seasoned fries but overall it's a surprisingly great place to eat if you are looking for a great burger. Prices are also very competitive and the owners are very friendly.

The instructions were not followed so I couldn't eat my burger - I asked for no cheese and they ignored it. It went in the bin. Also not everything was labelled so we had a job figuring out who each thing went to. Hairy when you have a peanut allergy person in the group!

Fantastic food and beer in a lovely pub. Posh fish n chips from the specials board was amazing. Service was attentive without being intrusive. A little pricey but I did close the most expensive thing on the menu. That's quite a few birthdays we have celebrated here.

Lovely place, gorgeous setting and exceptional food that arrived quickly. Inspiring and imaginative menu. Food was beautifully cooked. Service was fine - a young person who needs more training and experience but they're learning on the job and it's great to see the pub giving them the opportunity 😊 Met a friend half way between our two homes, each 2 hours' drive from the pub. We always meet somewhere different but now we're just going to come back to this place!

Unlike many reviews here, mine is based upon over 10 visits made in the last year. I am local to the area and regularly visit pubs and other places to eat. Of the many places to eat in and around the Blandford area, this pub continually offers very good food, friendly staff and a lovely ambiance. Of choice, I would either eat here or the White Horse at Stourpaine. Both pubs accept dogs. The Anchor, rightly, has earned a good reputation.
Alan ( — Google review
I visited the Anchor once before and had a positive memory but not anymore. A pub that says it is open until 9pm should not refuse a customer a drink at 8:40. It was evident the owner/barman couldn't wait to get rid of us. He was surly and unfriendly and on top of that the price of a standard pint was excessive. I wont be returning, despite its lovely location. That's what gives it the one star.

My wife and I enjoyed the pork and and octopus dishes today, these were both well prepared and presented by the chef. The staff were helpful and friendly. We were surprised at the limited milk options for the coffee but apart from that a pleasurable meal and will go again.

Out on my bike today and needed a coffee. I was on some quiet roads andso was very happy to come across this bar, cafe, restaurant. It looks very nice inside. Today was only for a coffee but also had a homemade sausage roll which turned out to be beautiful. The guys warmed it up for me too!. I was disappointed that they didn’t have skimmed milk but as I was on a long ride it was all good. The coffee was, however, very nice, they made it extra hot for me and made it in a larger cup which was more cappuccino style. Price for the 2 was £7.25. The place was popular with people having meals out in the sun and other cyclists. Plenty of parking. I’d love to return.
Paul S — Google review
We had the fish and chips for lunch, good portion size and the food was served hot and the fish was lovely and crispy. A service charge was automatically added to the bill which I personally find irritating and does put me off returning, tipping should be optional and we always do if the service and food is good, which it was.
L L — Google review
Our third visit. Food is top notch for pub food. Their fish dishes always excellent and their roasts legendary. The food is hot and plentiful and I mean that. It's cooked and presented beautifully and everyone in our party loved what they had. There are tables inside but not crammed together. We ate outside at the back by the pizza oven because it was nice weather and our dogs were hot after their walk, but dogs were welcome inside too. There are also tables out front in the tiny hamlet "square" with the war memorial. The staff were polite and warm and are a credit to the team. They didn't rush us and were attentive enough to come and ask us if we needed anything.

Great venue with a varied lineup of shows with well-known artists. Good sound and lighting with friendly and helpful staff. Small coffee shop attached for before shows and during the intervals. There's also a bar. It's a very popular old theatre that has retained its charm.

Went to see Mud. This is the 2nd time I've been here and I have something booked for February. The most wonderful building Brilliant sound quality. A small venue no hustle and bustle. Its got the beauty of being seated. A lovely venue staff are helpful. Plenty of facilities. Toilets, clean. Bar. Cafe. A real gem with some fabulous line ups.

Lovely theatre. Shame about the atmosphere or total lack of it. We went to see a ZZ top tribute it was like being at a funeral. Everyone sits there as if scared to move. Then we found out why. The bouncers were like the Gestapo. The first contact was sit down or leave. We were right at the back not bothering anyone. Seriously who would want to go to see a rock tribute to sit there like you in a conference?

Great Art Deco Theatre that is a pleasure to visit..just the right size to actually see who you're watching but large enough for some of the more famous acts to be seen....good comfortable seating..plenty of loos and great Ice Cream ..what more do you need ❤️

What can I say...I am a huge Tivoli fan and the staff here (mostly volunteers) are amazing. Always friendly and approachable. Just been to see the panto (our 5th year), and we won't go anywhere else. The production and cast are simply the best we've ever seen and top class, but that's another review. This is about the venue and the Tivoli is the perfect size and atmosphere for starting our Christmas with a beautiful location for a pantomime. Truly special venue

Typical Georgian market town square. Several shops and cafe in the area. We parked a few minutes walk away in one of the long stay car parks. Parking charges quite reasonable. Wimborne Minster is worth visiting too. It's free to enter, but a small donation to help with upkeep can be made.

The Museum of East Dorset offers a fascinating exploration of the region's history through 10 galleries showcasing East Dorset archaeology, period rooms, and costume displays. Visitors can immerse themselves in the rich heritage of the area before taking a break at the on-site tea room. Additionally, the museum collaborates with the National Garden Scheme to present a series of engaging garden lectures throughout spring and summer, providing diverse and relevant content for the local gardening community.
This is a fantastic museum with lots local history. Your entrance fee will last for the year so you’ll be able to return free of charge if you return. Definitely check it out in your visiting. Coffee and cake 🧁 were a good price certainly recommend.

Fantastic local museum in an historic building. Recently refurbished and conserved in an innovative, sympathetic way that makes the building one of the main exhibits. Lots of fascinating objects, with stories linking them with the previous owners of the house and local community. Displays are wonderfully presented so your senses are not too overwhelmed, with some really innovative interpretations and interactives. Amazing garden and tea room at the back. Plenty for children. Excellent gift and book shop at the entrance/exit.

I went today with my children and their school friend for the Minecraft Experience they were holding this summer. I have lived in Dorset all my life, and today was my 1st visit. I can happily say we will all be returning. The Minecraft special was amazing. My son even even said how great it was that they were so well thought through. We also managed to take part in a special slime making workshop, which was run by very enthusiastic and helpful staff. The kids were so pleased with their creations. Everyone was so pleasant and kind. You can really tell how much thought has gone in to making the museum as accessible and engaging for all ages. A proper little gem.

Took my grandchildren to the Dragon event. Was very disappointed. It was over promised and underdelivered. The children enjoyed some of it, but it wasnt the dragon expereince that I was expecting. For the girls, the best bit was dressing up in dragon costumes.

What a lovely family-friendly museum! Really warm welcome at the front desk and entry fee allows you to visit all year round. Fantastic How to Train Your Dragon Themed trail around the museum which my 7 and 4 year old boys really took to... Once they finally moved on from making their Dragon shields at the well stocked craft table at the start! They were keen to find all the feature dragons, dragon eggs and baby dragons, while also we all enjoyed the various dragon themed activities. The museum itself was full of interesting exhibits and local history and charm. The gardens were really lovely too and were a perfect spot for our picnic. Thanks very much for having us.

Fantastic museum catering for absolutely everybody with special interactive items for children as well as accessible areas and displays also suitable for those with mobility issues. Numerous interesting rooms with various themes and an extensive history of the historic building and its residents. Excellent facilities including a spacious cafe, magnificently restored garden with various seating areas, lift to first floor, disabled toilets, library, second hand bookshop and gift shop. Iron Age skeleton found locally with amazing research information, local history and geography detailed displays in many forms including drawers full of items, videos, cabinets as well as hands on activities. Recommend spending about 3 hours there to explore everything including the wonderful garden and cafe. Good value for money too - your entrance ticket can be used again within one year! A brilliantly restored museum with helpful volunteers in an excellent location in the centre of Wimborne - you can hear the church bells ringing during your visit too!

St Cuthburga's Church

4.7
(118)
Anglican church
Episcopal church
Wimborne Minster, Church of St Cuthburga is a historic site with roots dating back to the 8th century. Founded by St Cuthburga, a member of the royal house of Wessex, the church has undergone several transformations over the centuries. Originally established as a nunnery and monastery, it was later rebuilt after being mostly destroyed by invading Danes in 1013.
I was desperate in my search for the Saxon King Ethelred as there were no plaques or signs up. A fantastic church volunteer approached me and not only pointed out the Kings location, but took me on a guided tour of the church. Such a beautiful church of course steeped with history and mysteries. For anyone that is interested, the location of King Ethelred is under the church pulpit, as during the Anglo Saxon days that used to be the outside part of the church.
Greg W — Google review
If you like historical churches, this is definitely one to visit. We were given a tour guide by a wonderful volunteer who certainly knew everything there was to know about the church. If you’re visiting it’s a great place to explore. Astronomical Clock, with a blue-green image of the Earth at centre, and the Sun rotating in the outer lighter-blue ring, and the Moon in the inner starred ring is a must see.
Malcolm P — Google review
Not visited the Minster in decades, seems so much smaller than I remembered. Managed to see the chained library and boy did I love the information the woman volunteer gave about the libary and the books.
Sunny — Google review
I was disappointed, almost disgusted. The church is a real mess inside, full of conference style noticeboards for this and that, barriers, children’s toys, cupboards and furniture randomly around the place. A real dumping ground and kind of disrespectful, I can’t imagine it would feel very sacred if you wanted to pray or contemplate. I suppose some would say it’s a community building so good that it’s “lived in”, but it’s also an important and beautiful historic edifice, a balance has to be struck. The library was closed, no explanation. Adverts for apps to “experience” a couple of the splendid features - couldn’t really work out what they were meant to do let alone get them to do it and the notices about it just added to the clutter. A distinct lack of interpretation of the historic features (a laminated notice stuck on with blutak if you’re lucky), I’m sure I missed lots of significant things; I suppose I was suppose to buy and absorb a guide or something, but there wasn’t exactly much pointing you to this or encouraging you either. Because it IS historic and beautiful of course it is still worth visiting and it looks splendid from outside - hence the two stars. But so much more could be made of it and I feel the town/diocese or whatever should take more pride in this significant site. It deserves more. I’ll have to go again to try to see the library and other things I missed
Anna R — Google review
An absolutely lovely place to visit. I would recommend it to anyone, there is a lot to see, the Bankes family vault in the crypt and chained library in the tower to name a couple. I must say it was disappointing to hear the organ after the rebuild, It was a grand instrument but somewhat underwhelming now in comparison, not that this should reflect on the place it's self. 5 stars, well worth a visit!
Matt — Google review
I would love to have visited the Minster. We came last Sunday afternoon and it was shut. Who shuts a, church on a Sunday? We happened to be in the area yesterday afternoon (Saturday) and it was shut again because it was after 4.00pm. However the grounds are lovely especially the eco garden, very peaceful.
Christine A — Google review
Spectacular ancient church steeped in history. There are 2 saxon kings of England buried here amongst other historic people all with a story to tell. You might need to use google to reveal more about them than the information posted.
Bob H — Google review
Beautiful and historic building with some fascinating details. The church is clearly well used by the community, which is a good thing, but some areas were dreadfully cluttered which detracted from the visitor experience.

The food, drinks, atmosphere and decor were all perfect, and everyone had a great time. We did not feel rushed and they even packed up the cake we couldn’t squeeze in so we could take it home. Throughly recommend this little place. Well done and thank you to all xx

Service was great, the lady was very sweet. I got the turmeric iced chai latte, which I absolutely LOVED, really lovely. For food, I got the soup of the day; carrot and coriander. It was super fresh tasting and the presentation was really sweet. The decor and cafe itself feels like a hidden gem, 💎 really cute, cozy cottage vibes. I’d recommend coming here if you get the chance. My grandmother got some iced tea. They do all tea iced!! It was surprisingly flavourful and delicious, especially with no sugar.

Sadly Number 9 is now under new ownership so do not go here if you are looking for breakfast as they no longer sell pork??!!! So much for a traditional English breakfast!! We stumbled on this lovely hidden gem as we were looking for a place to get out of the rain and something to eat. The team were very friendly, the food was excellent, I had a sourdough toastie with ham and cheddar cheese, my parter had the hummus and tomato alternative. The toasties were complemented with a side salad, the icing on the cake was the honey mustard dressing which came separate, absolutely delicious. As for the drinks, my cappuccino was fantastic, and my partner enjoyed her latte. Shame it was raining, I'm sure on a nice warm day the courtyard area is a perfect place to sit and enjoy a brunch.

The food is lovely and the cafe is also dog friendly, it's just not very people friendly. There's no greeting and they deliver your food with the bare minimum of who ordered what, they aren't very attentive when you're ordering because they're chatting to each other. The cafe is situated in a very pretty courtyard and with a better attitude from the staff it could be tip top. I does'nt put me off going at all because it's so relaxing and pleasant otherwise.

Nice breakfast. The only criticism, egg was a bit rubbery. Black pudding, tasty toast and beans in a container. (I love when the beans aren't drowning everything else) Not a fan of soggy bread or a soggy sausage 🌭 you can order on an app, to avoid any social contact, if you're that way inclined. However the service was good and at a pretty good pace. Nice decor. No strange odours.

First visit today and we'd only been there two minutes before we were literally told off because we hadn't waited to be seated. ( We honestly didn't see the sign when coming in) We were seated and ordered coffees using the ordering system on our phones. Not able to choose a size apart from regular but they came fairly quickly. Bit disappointed with my black coffee as it was slightly watery. Decided to order a sundae to share as we'd already eaten before our visit. Lovely lady asked if we were sharing and brought 2 spoons, which was thoughtful. A definite 9/10 for the sundae... gorgeous. Lovely atmosphere, great decor, and very clean. Negative point though... Waitresses with bare stomachs... not very tasteful, especially when serving you food. However, after our bad start, we enjoyed our afternoon there.

Great restaurant, been going here for years and they have lovely friendly staff and authentic Italian food cooked with love. Delicious super garlicy garlic bread, lovely flavour on the lasagna and a great tiramisu to finish it off

Renoufs Cheese and Wine Bar is a must-visit for cheese and wine enthusiasts. With an extensive wine list featuring over 200 different bottles, and a frequently changing selection of cheeses including favorites like Brie, Goats Cheese, Oakwood Smoked Cheddar, and Dorset Blue Vinny, it's a haven for connoisseurs. The restaurant offers a variety of local and international cheeses and wines along with charcuterie boards and wine flights.
We came here for an evening meal out and it was lovely. This was mostly because of the very friendly attentive manager who created a lovely atmosphere for us. (We didn't catch her name but we went Wednesday 15th May evening). We unfortunately had to be moved from our table due to other customers (not Renoufs fault) and the manager gave us a free flight of port as an apology which was so lovely! The food was exceptional. We chose recommended cheese which were delicious and the meats were full of flavour. Very nice cosy atmosphere with no feeling of time pressure or anything else. Definitely will be back :)

Superb quality everything. Just wonderful. Insane wine list, relaxed atmosphere. A little oasis in an increasingly busy town.

The food was great! The service was fantastic and friendly! You couldn’t beat the atmosphere! If you love cheese & wine you have gone to the right place! But if you don’t like wine they serve various other drinks! I would highly recommend and we will come back!

On our first visit to Renoufs a few months back was a rather overwhelming experience. This time (8.8.25) we had a better idea of how it works and what to order, particularly thanks to Douglas, whose unhurried and gentle manner helped us no end in choosing the perfect platter for two. In a nutshell, Renoufs is a wonderful dining experience, and of good value - if one does not over-order. And the staff (Douglas in particular), are outstanding in their professionalism, and in the way they offer unhurried help to those like my wife and me who are keen to take the plunge in to a new (for us) dining experience!

We went here to celebrate a birthday. We were 3 people and got the Party board. This was plenty of food for the 3 of us. We actually could not eat it all. The price was reasonable, the presentation was really good. The service was really good as well, our waitress was very nice and helpful. The atmosphere was perfect, soft lights and wood decor. I don't really have any complaint. Also booking the table was easy and relatively fast. Well done

Overpriced rip off. Poor service, really disappointing. We wont be rushing back! I don't think they had ebough staff for the amount of people in there. We had a board for 6. Small portions of cheese possibly enough for 1 olive each a few grapes, no more then 2 crackers a dry thick cut bread to dip into lukewarm camembert! Staff unattentive, we had to go up twice to ask for drinks and where our food was after waiting over 30 minutes. They never asked if everything was ok or checked on us. Shockingly overrated and overpriced.
Jaynieo — Google review
Another of my 'go to' places in and around Wimborne- if you like to chat and graze, love your wines and spirits and adore your meats and cheese, this is the place for you! The selection of wines is quite literally staggering and the staff are all incredibly knowledgeable about the meats, cheeses and wines. Not sure what you want to drink? Try a 'flight' - 3 sample glasses of wines (or spirits) to taste so you can better decide which you want- they also do desserts..... not that I've ever had enough room for one!
Alan C — Google review
Prepare to be overwhelmed with choice, that's sums up my first experience of dining here. The wine list offers 200 bottles so there's something to suit all palates and wallets. If that's too much and you'd prefer to sample a few small glasses throughout the evening then flights of wine are available. The staff were very helpful. Choosing cheese and meats doesn't have to be as prescriptive as the meal board states. If you'd prefer more cheese and less meat that's ok. Plus you can add more of either if you have a larger appetite. You can have as much bread and biscuits as you want too. Flavours and presentation were both excellent. Table water is provided too to keep the body in balance for fluids. A our visit was for a Birthday and some candles were popped into the cheese, a nice touch. Will definitely be returning for our next special occasion.

Aroma Wimborne is a welcoming cafe that prioritizes hospitality and offers table service for a relaxing experience. Their extensive menu caters to various dietary needs, including gluten-free, vegetarian, and vegan options. Families are welcomed with a range of children's meals, drinks, and desserts. The cafe is known as a safe place and has accommodating opening hours from Monday to Saturday until 8pm and until 6pm on Sundays.
Often go here for breakfast. The staff are polite and efficient, the food is excellent and arrives quickly and hot. Great value for money. The all inclusive breakfast is my favorite.

We have just had lunch at Aroma in Wimborne. To say it’s a great place to eat is an understatement. The staff are very professional and also fun, they really make you feel welcomed. It is a very clean restaurant with staff always cleaning. Now the important bit of my review, the food. I had a steak pinene with side salad and chips and my Wife had a waffle. My streak pinene had more streak in it than most restaurants serve in a main meal. It was fantastic, it fact I left most of the chips as I was full and takes a lot! My Wife who has waffles around the world could not believe her eyes when it came out. She commented “ Am I expected to eat all that?” She said it was the best she had ever had, but again did not quite finish it all. We both had drinks, bottled water and a pot of Earl Gray tea and the cost £27. How’s that for value for money? If you visit Wimborne, forget the rest and try proper food cooked and served by people that care. Thank you all for a great experience.

Aroma is one of my favourite places for lunch as you are simply spoilt for choice! The menu is plentiful with sandwich choices, paninis, baps as well as having daily specials! On my most recent visit I opted for the Duck Pizza which was incredible! The service is also spectacular, the staff are super helpful and friendly, food & drinks arrived very fast; and staff ensured you always leave with a smile on your face. Overall would strongly recommend Aroma, and the Wimborne branch is equally as great as their others!

Lemur Landings is an indoor play center in Tower Park, Poole, offering a perfect rainy-day activity for families visiting Swanage. It features multi-level soft play areas with slides, tunnels, and a ball pool. The venue also includes a role play village with various themed setups like a house, school, shop, fire station, and garage. There are dedicated areas for different age groups including under 8s and older children.
Very large site, so kids have no time to be bored. Well organized event. We just selected base option after hours for the party but were nicely surprised with extras & the way that it has been conducted. From the very beginning you do feel welcomed and guided on what to expect. Kids started with wall climbing through soft play time ending with food and cake. Animal balloon modelling was a nice touch - kids loved it. Staff were very helpful and kind. Highly recommended. Perhaps it is a bit pricey than others but we did save a little last year and it was a disaster. You get what you pay for. They even automatically refunded guests cost that did not turned up. Did not expect that at all. Very pleased and thanks for the Lemur Landing Team to make my daughter beautiful memories. Lenny

Very helpful staff, bit too eager to clear our table though of half eaten meals of the kids, baring in mind they're in and out of the play area, nibble here, drink there lol. The soft play area can be a bit brutal even with the key word being (soft) My boy also stumped his toes on the lose metal strips that join the sections of floor together on the way past the tables to the toilet. Pretty dangerous after I felt how lose they were, you can get your fingers under the straps. Major trip hazard. The kids enjoyed the climbing wall which is safer then those floor strips 🤣🤣 The man supervising the climbing was very patient and attentive to my boys who wanted to climb, I say patient as my youngest was in and out of the harnesses from one to the other. Only issue is not being allowed our own healthy snacks due to our own dietary needs. 2 coffees, a bowl of chips and 3 cookies cost £15... ouch!! Got you by the short n curlies there... Mediocre experience, will be back as the kids love it. Fix that floor... 😳🙄

We've been here twice on a UK break. The kids love it. I like that you get soft play, role play, wall climb, mini aerial adventure, and an interactive wall game under one roof. There's plenty of seating around and a cafe for hot/cold drinks and hot food.

My young family and I visited this place twice in a fortnight and both times we had a blast. The dress up area has been revamped since our previous visit last year, so that's looking much nicer. I'd also like to give special praise to Ashton, as he was so kind and helpful during both of our visits, and I think he's a real credit to yiur team.

We've just had a birthday party at lemur landing. Sadly we had very bad experience and now after reading previous reviews i've now come to the conclusion the owner's-management are never going to change until 1: Some one takes them to court for a serious incident or 2: It effects the owners in the pocket so this will sound bitter but i hope it's the latter. I'm going to fair and start of on the good points, 1: Young member of staff assigned to our party can make balloon swords or dog's. (I can't) 2: The party room was clean: 3: There's a lot there for kids to be entertained for hours. Now the bad points. 1: Arrival: A young lad that you could see was stressed and struggling to keep reception going we waited 10 minutes to be let in so we could set up our room for party. 2: The soft ball air gun's 4 out of 6 guns weren't working and a one you can see the hose is snapped and blows compressed air in your face. 3: Our daughter cut her lip on that main soft play section. I asked a member of staff for napkins to clean the blood up, They weren't bothered and just pointed me to napkin stand. (So hope at some point this area gets cleaned) My partner also mentioned to another member about the blood on my daughters face and didn't show any compassion. So we delayed the food coming out so she could be cleaned up. 4: Lola the lemur the mascot was a disappointment and didn't want to engage with children. 5: Value for money sadly not. The employee's there are young and i understand there not always going to having the best days so they need the management to incentive them and provide more support when there busy . The staff are public facing so every once in a while they just need to fake a smile to make it look like there happy to be there to give customers a nice time. Looking after children is hard work and we go there for some fun and break. So in two words DON'T GO, go elsewhere and maybe the owners will get the message.
Stewart R — Google review
Fantastic for all ages. Rock climbing walls for the older ones, dress up role play for the little ones. Soft play area for big ones and separate toddler soft play area. Highly recommend for an indoor family day.
Suri L — Google review
I have a 10 month old, was looking for something to do with the whole family on an overcast day. The baby section leaves a sour taste in the mouth for what I paid ( under 1s is same price as an adult). The lil kids soft climbing area was overrun with kids from the "model village" bits and bobs. There is no ball pit. Finally the last straw was two older women trying to stealth vape in front of the baby section. I reported it, but the staff only put out a psa on the tanoy.
Samantha N — Google review
Great for kids of all ages (up to 5ft 2). The play frame is massive but there are also climbing walls and a dress up/imagination area. There are 2 smaller areas for younger children and babies. Sessions during peak times are 2 1/2 hours and off peak they don't have a time limit. Food from the cafe is good but a little pricey. They have hot and cold options for both food and drink and some sweet treats available. Parties are brilliant here. The only reason this doesn't have 5 stars is that the coat for adults is just unreasonable - £4.10 just to come in and observe the kids running around. You do have the pre book tickets via the website you can not just turn up.

Lady Wimborne Bridge, on FP no 92

Bridge
Historical landmark
Lady Wimborne Bridge, a hidden gem in Wimborne Minster, is a former railway bridge constructed in 1853 and now a Grade II-listed structure. Although trains no longer run across it, visitors can walk under the bridge towards Canford Suspension Bridge or climb to the top and follow a path down to the River Stour. The area features old initials and dates carved into the stone, adding to its historical charm.
Charming relic of a former railway line. It's a big substantial gothic looking bridge but over a peaceful nature path in the forest. Quite weathered so it's difficult to see what's on the coats of arms but still impressive. Stairs at one side allow you to climb to the top. Very pretty area to walk in. Lots of cool bugs.
Ingrid S — Google review
It is an absolute gem of a bridge outside Wimborne Minster. The path does follow the river Stour. It is a bit of a walk, but worth it. Then carry on down and you get to the small suspension bridge crossing the Stour.
Jack B — Google review
Lovely piece of Railwayana and architecture and history, lots of old initials and dates carved in to the stone in places, and located on the superb Stour Valley Way which has recently been improved here, lovely flat rolled gravel pathway. Also a bit further on is a lovely Victorian pedestrian suspension bridge leading across the river to a huge dog walking field.
Rojama S — Google review
A truly stunning and ornate gothic looking bridge. It's not the easiest to find, as it's on a foot trail, but it's well worth a visit to see.

Beautiful walk lovely flat path that takes you down to Canford Magna School. Or you can cross over the suspension bridge and take a longer walk. We walked some of the Castleman trail through beautiful fields. Only reason we turned back was the heat!

Deans Court is a charming old manor house that hosts food-focused events and features a unique homewares shop set in a former squash court. The cozy cafe offers dishes made with produce from the extensive kitchen garden, ensuring delicious meals with zero food miles. The estate has been lovingly maintained by the Hanham family since the Reformation, preserving the elegant redbrick Georgian house and the Serpentine-walled kitchen garden.
We knew that we wanted to get married at Deans Court from the day we moved to Wimborne, however the whole experience was better than we could have ever imagined!! The venue and grounds are absolutely beautiful, as were the Gatehouse and cottages which we also booked for the weekend. Georgia and the team were fantastic from the first meeting, throughout the whole organisation process and on the day itself - she worked behind the scenes to make sure everything ran seamlessly and was such a joy to work with from start to finish. We had such a great weekend and are so grateful to the whole team for making it so special - we could not recommend them highly enough. Thank you so much!

We couldn’t have imagined a more perfect day than our wedding at Deans Court in June. From organising our first viewing, Georgia was amazing, her communication was always clear, warm and supportive. She kept everything organised and made the whole experience feel exciting rather than overwhelming even when planning was ramping up! On the day, after our ceremony just across the road, we were greeted by Georgia with glasses of fizz in hand as soon as we arrived, a thoughtful touch, while we had our group photos taken. It instantly set the tone for the rest of the day. Everything flowed seamlessly, and we wouldn’t have changed a single thing. The grounds were stunning and gave the most perfect setting for our drinks reception in the sunshine. We felt so lucky with the weather, it really brought the gardens to life and made everything feel even more special. Even on one of the hottest days of the years, the marquee and garden location for our drinks reception was perfect, with just the right mix of shade and sun. The marquee was beautiful and ideal for both dinner and dancing, with our friends and family enjoying the relaxed vibe either out in the garden or on the dance floor in the evening. The layout worked perfectly, with everyone feeling part of the celebration, whether they were in the garden or on the dance floor. We stayed at Plum Cottage the night before with our bridesmaids, which was such a peaceful and lovely place to get ready. After the wedding, it was the most relaxing spot for us to unwind and reflect on the day, waking up in the morning to hear the wedding bells from the minster where we got married the day before, was the perfect highlight. The Deans Court house and grounds were the perfect backdrop for our celebrations and also our photos, which we’ll treasure forever. We loved everything about Deans Court, the look, the feel and the team, everything was perfect. Huge thanks to Georgia and the entire team for making our wedding day so perfect. It truly was the best day of our lives, we wouldn't have changed a single thing.

Wow! Myself & Matthew got married 3 weeks ago at Dean's Court & what an experience it was. From start to finish (Georgia) especially was incredible. Her attention to detail, professionalism and understanding was outstanding and what a genuinely lovely women she is. Dean's Court itself is absolutely beautiful and we'd like to thank the owners for letting us use their lovely home & surrounding garden. Everyone at Deans Court did an amazing job and Katherine went above and beyond to ensure all my hand made decorations etc were displayed in a breath taking manor. It was everything we wished for an more. We would highly recommend Dean's Court. Such a beautiful place with such beautiful people working there.

I had my heart set on Deana Court before I was even engaged. When my now husband came to view it, he knew it was for us. The venue is incredible, set in beautiful grounds that not many get to see. The marque is a great space left as a blank canvas for each couple to put their own stamp on their reception. What I couldn’t have anticipated was how amazing the staff are. They really care about each couple and helping to make their day special. We worked with Johnathan in the early stages who was so friendly and helpful . In the latter stages and on the day we had the pleasure of working with Georgia. She made everything run smoothly, there was no concerns, she handled everything and helped make our day just the best day. Not only that but the personal touches to us were what meant so much, all the staff around us before and after were just so friendly, helpful. It’s a well oiled machine but one that everyone involved cares so much about and felt so personal. Even though our wedding was the last of the year, they made us feel like it was the first. I couldn’t recommend Deans Court enough. I would also recommend staying at the properties if you can. The Gate House was a special place to get ready on my wedding day with my bridal party. We cant wait to come and visit again.

We held our daughters wedding here. We booked for the wedding service to be outside (weather permitting). The venue is just out of this world. We were extreamly lucky with the weather, and it was just perfect to have everything in one place so the day flowed perfectly. The staff from the top to the bottom were outstanding, nothing was too much trouble. All of the service from viewing the venue right through to the day after our wedding was outstanding we can't thank the staff at Dean's Court enough. If you are thinking about booking this for your special day I can thoroughly recommend it.

I cannot thank Deans Court enough for making my son's wedding day Sunday 27th June 2021 so special, There will not be enough space for me to write everything but from the planning to the execution of the day they were fantastic. The waiters and waitresses were amazing and they did not stop all day, nothing was too much for them. The venue, the garden's, the whole area was stunning. A couple of names Johnathan who took care of everything was fantastic and so was the lady who looked after everything on the day (think it was Hannah). I cannot thank them enough for making the day perfect.

I ordered a basket of flowers for the sapphire wedding anniversary of friends who live in Upton. As I live away I had to go with on line reviews of florists in the area. The friends were delighted and judging by the photos sent to me the arrangement was just what I wanted to send.it combined all the elements I asked for on the telephone. I would not hesitate to use Carnival flowers again and have already saved the number to my phone contacts list. Thank you.

I was blown away by our flowers at our wedding. One of the highlights of my day was having them delivered in the morning they were just so stunning and everything I could have dreamed of and more. Honestly out of this world and the service from the lovely carnival team was just outstanding. I learnt lots about flowers throughout the process too. Carnival flowers took care in understanding our colour scheme and helped us choose flowers we liked based on what we knew and what was in season. We had so many complements on them on the day and they stayed fresh and looked beautiful all day long and after the wedding too. Carnival flowers will forever hold a special place in our hearts. We will only ever buy flowers for special occasions from here. Thank you Sophie & Sally - dream team.

Thank you so much Sharon for everything you did. The flowers were BEAUTIFUL.

I cannot thank Sharon and all the staff at Carnival flowers enough. They were the florists for my wedding day. Their creative talents are absolutely amazing. With my ramblings of colour requests and some of my favourite flower suggestions, the floral pieces they created were exquisite. My mum initially thought the bouquets for myself and my bridesmaids were the table flowers they were so big! Sharon was a joy to work with throughout the whole process, especially given the restraints of the pandemic. Thank you all so much

Really fun experience, great for anyone in good health and over the age of 4 years. Friendly team and well organised. Recommend buying tickets in advance as it gets busy. There was a happy vibe with people having a laugh and lots of fun both on and off the slides. Would need to provide lockers and keep the port-a-loos clean and stocked for the extra star ⭐️. Picnic tables are provided along with a cabin selling a small selection of drinks. Tip: as there are no lockers, keep everything in your car and ask them to hold your car key for you. My son was not going to go onto the slip and slide when we arrived and the staff were absolutely amazing! The lady at the desk offered to help and a young man called CAM was brilliant. He helped Thomas to brave the slide and assisted over and over again. Our trip turned from a negative - don’t going to try - to an amazing afternoon out. Thomas came off the slide buzzing!! HUGE thank you to CAM and all the staff.

Went with the family 28th July had a great time. Staff were very friendly and professional. You think one hour may not be enough but it was plenty of time to have a lot of slides. Will definitely visit again.

An excellent meal on New Years eve. The portions where very generous. The staff friendly slightly chaotic but then it was busy. Time between courses was a bit longer than one would expect but that was perfect for us. Many Thanks

We enjoyed our meal but the vegetable curry & mushroom curry were just sauce which was very acidic & runny. No complaints whatsoever for the rest of our 4 meals. The Merlot wine was very mediocre to say the least. Staff were lovely. Thank you

A simply fabulous meal at Wimborne Tandoori on Saturday 23rd August celebrating our 42nd Wedding Anniversary weekend. We received a great welcome and the food was superb. We are thoroughly looking forward to Shah and his team taking over Westbourne Tandoori. Many thanks Sue & Ray Broadhurst

The food was average and not worth the money. The staff is not really welcoming. It seems they don't care about quality or quantity as well as not customer centric as the hotel is on the tourist spot and people will anyways come irrespective of taste or review. It's mentioned as Indian restaurant but typical Bangladesh chef and taste. Food quantity is not sufficient.

Wow great food - great service -,especially the owner - The food was excellent tonight - always a great service …they mentioned they are opening a new place in Westbourne , Bournemouth- we can’t wait to go 🙏

We went in and ordered a takeaway said we’d be back in 40 mins , arrived to collect and they couldn’t find our order after much deliberation between staff they said sorry it would be 10 mins . Meanwhile another customer arrived back with an order they had been given incorrectly they handed the bag back and said the order was for Henry ! Lo and behold 5 mins later our order appeared for Henry ( not my name they’d obvs misheard) benefit of doubt we accepted the takeaway no apology or explanation from the restaurant. The food was revolting the prawns left the curry gritty and tasteless and the korma was watery and chicken chewy, if this has been remade it has been rushed I think it was reheated after being returned and that is not acceptable. We won’t be returning customers .Poor service Wimborne Tandoori

Nestled along East Street in Wimborne, Cloisters is a charming independent café that beckons both locals and visitors alike with its delightful offerings. Known for its inviting atmosphere by the stream and proximity to the stunning Minster, this dog-friendly spot serves up an array of tempting treats like toasted tea cakes, bakewell tarts, and decadent triple chocolate brownies. Breakfast enthusiasts rave about their full English breakfast made from locally sourced ingredients, while light lunches are equally satisfying.
Second time I've been here for breakfast, and I've been impressed both time! Dog Friendly! We arrived around half 11 on a Saturday morning and the place was bustling and full with lots of tables booked up. We ended up sitting outside which was still really nice! Would definitely visit again. Breakfast Bagel, Pancakes and Coffee all delicious. Worth calling to book to make sure you get a table!

Pretty little cafe with good homemade food. Rarebit was delicious. Staff were warm and friendly. Very busy so recommend you book. Paid parking 5 minute walk away.

It was very busy when we (three adults and two small children) arrived but we were provided with a suitable table. It was carefully explained to us that there would be a significant wait, as they were dealing a large group, but that was fine, as we were in no hurry and the atmosphere was very convivial. We were served with drinks straight away and our food orders were duly taken. The food was very good, perfect for a late morning brunch, and reasonably priced. It's not my first visit and it won't be my last.

Our first time in Wimborne and this cafe was recommended to us. A lovely, traditional English menu. We got the veggie and big breakfast. Both were amazing. Very tasty and that egg was gorgeous! It is a very clean and cosy cafe with friendly staff who are very efficient. They have cute bathrooms upstairs also.

Sunday morning breakfast, and Cloisters is an absolute joy. My first visit there and from the moment you walk through the door you receive a genuine welcome and you can tell they appreciate their customers and customers appreciate them. We both enjoyed our breakfasts, which were of the highest quality. Worth a visit and next time I am in Wimborne, I'll be trying the rest of the menu. A rare gem.

We chose this one out of all the places you can go in wimborne and wasn't too disappointed, it was busy but we managed to get a table upstairs. We rang the bell to order and waited for a short while, the menu was well put together and the prices was reasonable. The place was tidy, but upstarts was a little squashed. The food was well presented and the staff was very pleasant. Shame we didn't order the giant tea cake as it went past when we paid and it was huge...

The rustic decor and open fires create a cozy atmosphere, complemented by a spacious garden for outdoor enjoyment. We visited on Christmas day and had an absolutely amazing lunch. The service by the restaurant and bar staff was fantastic and every detail had been thought about to make a special meal on Christmas day that bit more memorable. The table looked beautiful and the rustic bread on arrival and a Christmas card was a lovely touch, the main courses were delicious - I had the traditional turkey roast and the meat was spot on! A big thank you to Katie, Bridie, Sophie and the rest of the team who all looked after us so well and really made a it a Christmas Day to remember.

First night of service after a refurbishment. Really impressed with food and service and new decor. Thanks to Maddie, Kate and Ian who helped make our evening so enjoyable. Really lovely lunch . Beautifully decorated venue . The refurbishment has really made a difference . And the food from the basic pot of olives we had to nibble with our drinks to the main courses were lovely . I had the Rotisserie Chicken and my wife chose the Duck Salad . Both were great plates of food . Good portion size and well presented . The service was very good too . The young lad behind the bar greeted us politely and took the time to take us to our table . Yes I admit it was quiet but so many times we see someone say just help yourself to a table so a refreshing change . Hope they keep it up . The young lady serving was very friendly and helpful also . Didn't get to have a dessert as I couldn't eat anymore but will return to try one soon.

Coming home from Durdle Door with the kids. I just intuitively turned for lunch. I thought there would be no place because we didn't have a reservation. Been here a few times recently and the owners and management are so accommodating. Whether just for a drink, a meal and providing the perfect location for a wake recently, the buffet was perfect and a special mention must go to James, Claire Sam and Alfie, also the chefs whose names I don't know. Location is lovely down by the river. Disabled access arranged to assist a friend to enter the beautiful garden settings. All in all I would highly recommend and will definitely be back. Keep up the great work that you do. Thankyou

We were looking for somewhere suitable to have a gathering after our Mum's funeral and approached James at the Coventry arms last minute. He was only too happy to help. They put on a fantastic buffet for us, set aside a space for us and made sure we had everything we needed. Nothing was too much trouble. I would not hesitate to recommend this venue for any kind of gathering. The outside area is beautiful with the river running past and a tastefully arranged outside space. Customer service excellent, food excellent and ambiance excellent. Will definitely be telling my family to book my wake here 😁. Thank you all x

What’s not to love about this place. Best for miles around. We’re regulars for a reason. James has created a gem of a pub for all to enjoy at every occasion, all year round. Clare has developed a lovely team looking after your every need. The food is always delicious. We would still pass all the other pubs to get to it as our visits are great every time. Go along and realise what you’ve been missing.

This is in the most lovely location. The garden takes you right down to the river and it is idyllic. The staff are friendly and really want to do their best for you, but when we went it all felt a bit shambolic. Our waitress was lovely but clearly overworked. Doing the best she could waiting on most of the tables. The food was good but how do you run out of horseradish sauce at any time, let alone a Sunday? My partner ordered an ale when we arrived and it had gone off. The bartender changed his pint and said he would change the barrel. Later my partner ordered a second pint - the barrel hadn't been changed and it was awful. Yes they changed his drink again, but why were they still serving from the old barrel? Went to the loo and the hand soap had run out - it happens - I let a member of staff know. When we left 2 hours later there still wasn't any hand soap. Overall the food was nice but average and took at least 30 minutes to arrive. If you're charging £23 for a roast dinner it should be good, really good. Will we go back? Maybe for a drink or a weekday meal but not on a Sunday....

Best pub in Wimborne Sensational setting next to a river on East Street it's a wonderful building too an has a best beer garden in Wimborne hands down.. The pub grub is hearty an deliciously good and have an excellent selection of beers an wines... The staff and smiley and kind. Oh they do pizza Saturdays all. I would like to say a huge thank you to the staff… I had two unfortunate “experience’s” regarding some customers yesterday which was quite upsetting… one of the staff Kelly, bless her came to my rescue, the other staff Greg & Josh also were supportive too for which I’m grateful. They’re amazing..apart from that I enjoyed the day regardless & I feel that the Rising Sun is a safe space…

The Rising Sun is without doubt the best pub in Wimborne. The atmosphere is welcoming, friendly & also very, very fun! The riverside garden is a beautiful place to sit & have a quiet drink under the willow tree or to let your hair down & enjoy one of the many fantastic bands they have on over the weekends. The food is incredible & it’s very obvious the chefs are passionate about what they do. The menus are inclusive & cater for everyone. The staff go above & beyond & will make you feel like a local, even if it’s your first time there. All in all it’s cut above the rest & a breath of fresh air to visit a pub so full of life when others are becoming so soulless.

Drift around mesmerized in this beautiful garden, lie on the grass, or sit on a bench and daydream in the prettiest spot imaginable. Bees, butterflies and birds abound. This is a fantastic garden. A beautiful range of grasses and perennials in a great setting. The planting is semi naturalistic with nice landscaping. It has a pleasantly non commercial feel although as they're a nursery most of the more interesting specimens can be bought in the shop.

A lovely natural garden that focuses on grasses, and other specimen plants in a non formal setting. Good parking, on site toilets, a small self service refreshment area, and nursery shop. It is undulating, and surfaces are mainly wood bark, mulch, gravel and grass. I got around ok on a crutch, but chair users may struggle without assistance. We had a slow nimble around, followed by a look in the shop, and that took about a couple of hours. Very definitely worth a visit if you are into nature gardening and it grasses.

An absolute gem of a bar. Great atmosphere with a very friendly genuine welcome, offers a choice of beers/lagers and cider that your just can't find anywhere else. Great Gluten free range as well ! Reminds me of an Austrian bar in the mountains, very easy to lose track of time in here. 5 stars.

Craft ale bar with a good selection of beers served from taps in the wall, so kegs and occasionally casks behind but probably all keykeg in my opinion. Not a real ale drinkers paradise but all beers in good condition. Makes a change from Hall and Woodhouse who dominate in the town.

What a cracking wee craft beer bar. Great selection and variety on tap with a fairly large fridge to choose from too. Staff were friendly and knowledgeable. We got talking to some locals and ended up spending the rest of the evening here. One of the reasons why I prefer craft bars and micro pubs over normal pubs as everyone talks to each other. Went with friends on Friday night. It had been my wife’s birthday so the restaurant had send us a voucher for a free Prosecco, they happily swapped this for a bottle of Red Wine instead. Lovely food, we had really nice pizza, starters and coffee and it was excellent value.

Food was good. But I hate deliver roo and just eat.. restaurant wasn't that busy but took almost an hour for our food to come out. 2 adults and 2 children. Took so long we had to box our pudding as it was the children's bedtime. as they couldn't cope with the deliveries... the staff where lovely and informative. Not the first time going out for dinner where companies priorities delivery rubbish to the expenses of the sat down in the restaurant paying customer. It puts us of visiting these places.

Lovely building and nicely spaced out tables. Lovely touches with the candles made for a beautiful setting. Extremely enthusiastic server maybe a little scripted and too forced, food was very prompt microwave must have been in full swing. However, it was a lovely quick dinner in lovely surroundings. We will definitely return.

Excellent service from Bartek as always and delicious food, well cooked and nicely presented.

Lunch for two picky people and grandson Food excellent, freshly and well prepared. Really nice Risottos Probably the best of the Chains. Pleasantly warm and airy room with high ceilings Service by Bart, a pleasant and helpful young man who looked after us very well. One small item, that applies to most restaurants. Prezzo offer absolutely brilliant child menu but it would be great if smaller Knife and fork were to be available. Will return
Brent C — Google review
The service from was extremely good. In the past we had good experience but the last visit the waitress was friendly, change her tone for the table to fit them. She was caring, and very conscientious. The choice of food has improved with a selection of items available for gluten free and vegan requirements. The quality of food was what lets the place down, the calamari was like bullets and the vegan pea fusilli was oily. Most other dishes were very mediocre in quality.

Nestled in the charming town of Wimborne, The Old Thatch is a delightful 17th-century thatched pub and artisan store that exudes character. With its rustic beams and inviting open fire, this family-run establishment offers a warm atmosphere perfect for all ages. The menu boasts an array of homemade British dishes, including enticing vegan options like Chickpea Falafel and Wild Mushroom Parcels. Families will appreciate the dedicated children's menu and play area featuring a climbing frame to keep little ones entertained.
Dog friendly, cosy, great service and a fabulous beer garden with a kids play area. First time here as we went for a small birthday group… highly impressed.. the service staff were well trained and very helpful, we were served by Holly and all the the other members of the team were very helpful, professional and polite.. I told the manageress, Aimee, how well all the staff were performing and the credit to her training. The meal is served appeared to be homely… thank you all for a wonderful birthday gathering and a warm atmosphere.

This is one of my favourite, popular restaurants with ambience & friendly service. I love the way it spreads out & manages to maintain a feeling of warm-hearted hospitality. On this occasion I had a mushroom starter as a main course as I didn't have much of an appetite. My friend ordered a vegetarian roast which was accompanied by several vegetables including cauliflower cheese. I usually order roast beef on a Sunday & highly recommend it! The presentation, portion size & flavours were perfect once you added the vegetables. Gravy was served in a separate jug which is the way I like it. Prices are on the high side, but most of us complain these days. Very little is anything like what we paid a year ago! This is a lovely venue to celebrate a birthday, an anniversary or any other special occasion.
Glynnis S — Google review
I took my sister here for her birthday to have a roast. The staff were very welcoming and wished my sister happy birthday on arrival. We were seated and served very quickly. The food was excellent and I highly recommend everyone pays them a visit. They have a fantastic large garden area with climbing frames and music. We have already rebooked. The only bit of criticism was the hand dryer in the ladies needs updating to a more powerful one. Absolutely loved it 😊

Booked in for sunday lunch online. Dog friendly with pretty good service, wasn't impressed with one of our starters and had to wait a while for our roasts to come out however the roast was actually pretty good, the meat was soft and not chewy at all. The star of the show was definitely the desserts though! We had the sticky toffee pudding and chocolate orange profiteroles, both amazing!
Jade H — Google review
We took some friends from abroad for a dinner at the Old Thatch with our dogs. The location is beautiful, very cosy pub, dogs are welcome and we had a nice table in the corner for more comfort and peace. The food was really good, our friends were impressed about the burgers and the pies. Fish and chips was also fantastic. Prices as average pubs in the area. My only note would be on the service: I rarely met such a blunt and little welcoming waitress. Staff in Mc Donald's or Starbucks are far more smiley, nicer and kinder with their customers. Definitely something that could use some improvement.
Valentina V — Google review
Glad I went here. Great friendly staff and nothing an issue. The FOOD omg had the Beef roast with my other half having the Lamb was amazing. Portions are perfect size not too big or too small. Cooked to perfection. Will be using again and highly recommended that you try.
Chris H — Google review
Come here regularly but today has been shocking! Literally ignored by staff. Managed to just about get one drink with our food but the service was none existent! Girls seemed more interested with gossiping with each other. Asked for dessert menu and we’re just left empty glasses and wandering what was happening!! A good 20 minutes before anyone bothered to come over. It’s was super quiet as well so seemed like no one was happy staff wise! Not a good look for such an award winning place. Definitely not paying the automatically added service charge!! Very let down today!

Quintessential British pub. Staff are fantastic and make you feel welcome. Local roast beef was the most flavorful I've had for ages. Warm and cosy with lots of selfie spots and a pool table in the barn. Great value and service. Free carpark. Lots of live music and events. Can't wait to go back.

What a gem of a place. Fresh "like caught day of" fish and chips.

Concidering how cheap the food was it was really nice after a bike ride to wimbourne and the woman behind the bar who served has some of the best customer service I’ve experienced, felt really welcomed as soon as we walked through the door. Will definatly be returning.

Very small traditional pub. Felt welcomed. The food was good and homecooked. Pleased they had a smaller plate choice for elder people or anyone looking at their portion sizes. Afterwards, they did say we could have even ordered a kids' roast. The only downside was the presentation. Gravy over everything. No greens and we didn't like the spice in the red cabbage. Desserts were again delicious and homecooked. Very good value, great beers (ales) and would definitely return. We paid to park in a carpark as it didn't look like it had any parking, but it does!

White Mill, located on the Kingston Lacy Estate, offers a serene riverside location for visitors to explore. Recently renovated and now open to the public, this historic double mill showcases its original components. Although it no longer functions, it provides a safe opportunity to closely examine its ancient engineering. While some upper floors are inaccessible due to safety concerns, there is still plenty to see and admire, including the flowing waters and picturesque medieval bridge.
Fascinating 18th century watermill, on a much older site that was recorded in the Domesday Book. The setting by the River Stour is very peaceful and overlooks a historic bridge. On the quiet October afternoon I visited, I was lucky enough to get a personal guided tour. The guide was brilliant, informative and entertaining, and I got to see working models of the mill equipment. The wooden machinery inside the mill is original, and I learnt all about how it worked and why the materials were chosen. If you've ever wondered why mills often have apple trees outside, you'll find out here. There's a parking area across the road, and you can buy a souvenir to remember your visit if you wish. I got in free with National Trust membership, but at the time I visited, the ticket price was just £3.50 for non-members, great value for such an interesting visit. The mill is only open on weekends and closed over winter, so check the website for opening times in advance of visiting to avoid disappointment.

Charming setting with a beautiful bridge across the river; grounds not extensive and it doesn't open until noon. Lots of hiking in the area along the river.
Terike — Google review
Beautiful spot with a walk nearby, although it is not see easy to see the river and lots of cow pats, but I only walked for around 15 minutes.. The bridge is impressive too.

A fascinating old mill dating back to the Doomsday book. It is deliberately unrestored state which adds to its charm. It is well worth taking the guided tour as my tour guide was very knowledgeable and her enthusiasm for the Mill came across bringing the Mill's past to life. Entry is free for NT members and only £3.50 for non members. An absolute bargain!
Chris H — Google review
Lovely National trust trail along the river and through the village and back. However the path along the river stour from The Mill is so overgrown and full of stinging nettles so was very hard going, needs cutting back badly. Still enjoyed it though and free parking at The Mill across the road.

This place was amazing. We accidentally come across it once when we drove by to pick something up that was advertised on a local selling site. My partner decided to look into it and I'm so glad she did. We visited yesterday with our dog and my mums dog and I can honestly say I've never seen the dogs so happy. Will definitely be coming back!

The best around by quite a way. Great facility, running field and adventure park depending on choice. Friendly staff, clean, loo available, hot and cold drinks, shelter from the sun or rain, well kept grass (unlike many) and very secure both for the dogs, and with cctv, everyone. This is our go to off lead dog walking and exercise place, and we travel considerable miles to get there. Only the best for the A-Team (D1-D5)

This is what a dog park should be. Lots to do to run off some energy but also mental stimulation available. Secure area with toilets and sheltered area for us humans and they even do snacks, provide poo bags and water. Oh and brollies if it’s raining. Cannot recommend enough. This was my first time but won’t be my last. So much though Had gone into this. Well done to all involved. It’s amazing

Had a brilliant first time here today. Jasper had an absolute field day (🤷‍♀️). The staff are brilliant and helpful and the site is clean. Highly recommend it for an hour of fun that caters to both canines and humans.

Great facilities. Lovely staff. Ted's first visit and absolutely loved it. Being reactive we have to be careful where and what we do with him. Seeing him running around was lovely.

This is an absolutely awesome place to exercise your dogs safely. Two fields too choose from running field and agility field. Its clean, fresh water, Tea,coffee, snacks and toilets. I absolutely love it here and go a couple of times a week. Easy to book and fast responses on messages. Lovely seating areas too if you want to take a picnic.

Nestled in the heart of Purbeck and east Dorset, The Golden Fox is a delightful pub that serves as a perfect pit stop after exploring the serene Wareham Forest Way. Starting from the charming riverside town of Wareham, your journey culminates at Sturminster Marshall, where The Golden Fox awaits with its inviting atmosphere.
We picked the Golden Fox after reading reviews and we were not disappointed. I felt the bar area was a little dark, but we were soon accommodated in the restaurant. Really good to see that the restaurant is a no dog zone. The menu is not extensive but with the daily specials there should be something for everyone. It's worth noting they do not have a children's menu but modify some of the menu items to make a child's portion. Our 11 year old Granddaughter made short work of the adult 8 oz steak! The food was very well cooked and presented and portions were generous. Staff were welcoming, friendly and attentive. For the quality and portion sizes, the prices were good A great new find to add to our list of "must returns"

This was our first visit and we were very impressed. The fish platter had a most interesting selection of fish and was beautifully presented . The service was most friendly and courteous. Our only negative comment was that the garden , where we ate, could have been tidied up with some more colourful bushes.
Barry G — Google review
The welcome, service, food and presentation were all of the very best. We had dinner here last time and this was a lunch visit. Our friends were obliged to bring their very difficult and antisocial dog. Nothing was too much trouble with the staff. . Everything was very good indeed
Bob A — Google review
Visited for lunch. Very limited menu, we both struggled to find something. wife had mushroom stroganoff and they kindly swapped the rice for chips, she very much enjoyed. I had burger and chips, the burger, relish and chips were delicious. The disappointment come to the cheap makro/bookers/brakes or equivalent frozen and defrost bread roll, when paying £16 for burger and chips I was really expecting quality bakery roll or equivalent not the same roll they serve in weatherspoons! The food was served hot and reasonable sized portions. 2 pints ale, 2 pints cider, 2 starters, 2 mains £64.00
Alan W — Google review
We stumbled across the restaurant by mistake and so glad we did The staff and both friendly and professional and the food was simply to die for. The tastes and the vegetables were cooked to perfection Compliments to the chef. Downside is that we don't live close enough to return any time soon as Newcastle isn't exactly close 😕

We visited for lunch on the 18 March 2022 after seeing a review in the Bournemouth Echo and was not disappointed. Staff where very attentive. We both had the sea bass which came with plenty of vegetables. Also there was a good selection of real ales which went down well. We will be coming back.

So close to 5 stars - enormous portions, fantastic homemade burger, fluffy sponge and lovely presentation of the sticky toffee pudding, fish platter with tasty and wide range of seafood but with one fly in the ointment: junior staff need basic waiting training. Owner and wife could not do enough to make it a lovely evening for us and the kids. But waitress never flagged specials, didnt clear empties and dirty napkins and unable to explain the menu items, despite her obvious charm. Still worth a visit!

The Horton Inn is a delightful country pub that truly embodies warmth and hospitality. From the moment you step inside, you're greeted by friendly staff who are eager to make your experience memorable. The atmosphere is charming, reflecting the pride they take in their service. Diners rave about the delicious food, with highlights including tender meats and exceptional cauliflower cheese—though be sure to arrive early if you're craving specific roasts!
I had the pleasure of visiting this lovely country pub recently, and I can honestly say it was one of the best experiences I’ve had in a long time. From the moment we walked in, the staff made us feel genuinely welcome. Friendly, attentive, and full of local charm – nothing was too much trouble. You can tell they take pride in what they do, and it really shows in the atmosphere they’ve created. The food was also absolutely outstanding. Whether you’re just passing through or looking for a go-to spot in the countryside, this pub is a must-visit. Great people, incredible food, and that cosy, relaxed vibe that only a proper country pub can deliver. Can’t wait to come back!

Welcome not welcome. Arrived after doing a 20 mile round trip. Checked food booking as per sign at 5:30. Bought a drink each. People after us had been given preference to order and I was told in no uncertain terms that I could not even place an order until quarter of an hour later.would have waited but when I explained that I had arrived before the customers taking preference and because there was a party of 11 booked we would have to wait to order. No sorry for slight delay, just attitude from person I think was landlady. This was a favourite venue where we had felt welcome. Never again. No longer favourite. Went more local to home where a better welcome was offered. Had treat with better menu and 25,% off to boot. 11 Aug 2025. Wow just seen reply. I was calm, polite with no aggression at all. Except perhaps in normal voice saying "fine" after getting attitude from shift lead. This is a complete fiction. I quietly stated we had been there first and the attitude came from the shift leader. There were 2 reviews, one from my partner and one from me. Just reaffirms my decision not to return or recommend. There was no apology at all. Slanderous depiction of what happened. Sorry but no, just not right. Poor show. Good luck with your business it is in a lovely setting but myself and my friends group will avoid.

We had a wedding near by and this place was perfect. Rooms were clean and very comfortable. Breakfast was great and nothing was too much trouble. The staff went out of of their way and really helped us when some mindless moron wrote off our vehicle. The kindness will never be forgotten, thank you Fran to you and all your staff. You are a credit to this pub, we will be back:)

Sunday lunch for 11 of us to celebrate a birthday. Roasts were excellent, plenty of everything and all served very professionally. All of the staff were brilliant too. Highly recommended.
Amanda G — Google review
Came for a roast. Unfortunately most meats had sold out so get in quick (before 3:30pm) if you want a certain meat. I enjoyed the vegetarian roast. Waitress stated there was only unlimited Yorkshire, potatoes and gravy once you had finished your meal... seems pointless as then you can't eat the whole roast together, this wasn't much of a problem for us as the portions were enough Dessert portions were a bit too much for our liking, we're nice in taste, but too over powering to be able to finish it all ( lemon moouse) Brownie was more of a cake than a gooey traditional brownie.
Sanchia G — Google review
Warm and friendly greeting. Room was nice size and very comfortable. Food from the restaurant was hot and fresh. Choice of breakfast was good. Over all we have a great stay . Would book up to go there again.

On Sunday I went for lunch at the Horton Inn and from the moment I entered I felt so welcome! Staff were attentive and quick. The food came out and honestly I could not fault it! The meat was tender and moist, the cauliflower cheese was the best I’ve ever had! As much as I would have loved to indulge in a pudding I was seriously full to the brim! But I certainly will be back to give them a try as I saw some come out from the kitchen and they looked insane! Shoutout to the girl who took care of us, the extra gravy was much appreciated!
Chloe C — Google review
Honestly one of the nicest places for food, nothing was too much for the staff and they made our whole Father’s Day experience lovely. The food was incredible and a good portion size too! Even the little garden area was pretty and good for the kids, I would say maybe a few more play bits for the kids but other than that it was amazing.
