Campomarino Dunes, located in the Taranto province of Puglia, is a hidden gem with its undisturbed beach and crystal-clear waters. The area is rarely visited and offers a peaceful escape from the hustle and bustle of more popular tourist spots. The fine-sand peaks are dotted with cacti and vibrant lavender bushes, creating a picturesque setting for visitors to enjoy nature.
Amazing place, not overcrowded as the other beaches of this region. It has crystal clear waters full of small fishes, nature in a raw state. Only a shame that some people leave trash behind and the city admin doesn't offer trash bins in the exits.

We visited this beach in the off-season, last week of May, so it was practically deserted. I can only imagine how busy it gets in the summer, but this beach is stunningly beautiful. Crystal-clear water and soft sand... Can't wait to return!

Water is clear like you are in Maldives.

It's an amazing beach, the dunes, the cliffs just wonderful. But unfortunately, there are lots of litter. There is a more touristic, sandy part with sun umbrellas and everything, and next to it, it's a more natural part. 😊
Virág V — Google review
Great beach! Most of it it's free to public.. just a couple of rocks when you get in the sea but after that pure beauty! There are few access into the sea without rocks easy to spot because most people get concentrate on those part of the sea.

(Translated by Google) This beach is a true paradise: free for km, very convenient free parking nearby, clean sand and crystal clear sea! Furthermore, it is much less frequented than others and this also helps to better preserve its natural beauty. There are small fish in the water that love to "pinch" swimmers. Also good for snorkeling. Very recommended! Molto consigliata!

Spiaggia d'Ayala is a stunning, nearby naturist beach that welcomes the LGBTQ+ community. It's essential to bring your own towels, umbrella, and food since there are no facilities available. Free parking can be found on the street outside. During weekdays, this beach remains serene as it doesn't receive a large influx of people. The beach boasts an exquisite shoreline and crystal-clear sea waters. Additionally, it prides itself on being inclusive and accepting towards the gay community.
The best nudist beach we have been to! Friendly to newcomers if you keep returning, at day 3 we were already treated part of the beach. If you want to just enjoy sunbathing is fully ok and judging by the vibe if you are looking for an adventure you might just find it ;)

Great spot. Gay friendly and clothing optimal. Transparent waters. Bring your own umbrella. It could be very hot. I brought my visor, and I had a nice time swimming. No problem to park on the road. When you get it, walk to your left around 400 Mts to get to the quiet area.
David ( — Google review
The naturist area is 400m south of Posto 9 bar. It’s a small section of beach, but worth the visit. I did note that although all couples/groups, there was no female full nudity apart from one lady.

A beautiful, local, naturist beach that’s LGBT friendly - be sure to bring your own towels, umbrella, and food as there is no service. Free parking is available on the street outside.
Jason J — Google review
Lovely beach. Water is calm and clean. Mixed crowd but with many gay men. Nudist beach, but not presumptuous. People of many different shapes and sizes. Don’t worry if you don’t have the perfect body, no one cares. But you will notice many good looking in shape men but also ones of all ages and stomach sizes. Bring your own umbrella and goods. There are no facilities there. Park along the street near Porto 9 and walk the public pathway to the shore and make a left and walk 5 minutes to the nudist part. We went late September and the weather was warm and not crowded. Best time to go!

(Translated by Google) The cult of Saint John the Baptist was brought to Maruggio by the Knights of Malta around the year 1300. In the religious order of chivalry, in fact, the devotion to this saint was vast and among the main. Maruggio, founded by the Knights, shows the signs of their passage in many buildings and traditions. A chapel was also built in San Giovanni, called "St. John Outside the Walls", and the Mother Church itself, dedicated to the Nativity of the Virgin Mary, is a legacy of the Order of Malta, which honored Mary above all in her representation of a little girl. When Maruggio was founded, San Giovanni somehow automatically became its protector, and from then on the people of Maruggio invoked him, celebrating him for a long time on June 24th. The change in the date of the feast is attested by the bishop's decree of 30 June 1928. With this episcopal document the request of the people of Maruggio to celebrate the holiday on 13 and 14 July was accepted, especially in relation to the memory of the "miracle" of Saint John who would have saved the town from a strong and violent storm years earlier. There is no exhaustive information about it, but it seems that in that event, the population of Maruggio took refuge in the church and prayed to the Saint to be protected from the very violent storm in progress, which stopped shortly thereafter. Personal photo taken on 02/11/2024. While the article was extrapolated from an article online. I must say that I didn't entirely expect it like this: I was in fact very struck by the columns with richly sculpted capitals on which round arches rest. The atmosphere is warm and familiar: the entire staff made us feel at home, always kind and helpful. The cuisine is authentic Apulian, simple yet rich in flavor. We sampled traditional dishes—from orecchiette with turnip greens to meatballs—and they were truly exquisite, cooked with passion and using genuine ingredients. Compliments to the entire staff for their professionalism and attention to detail. We'll definitely be back soon! I recommend booking, especially during the summer, as the restaurant is very popular and you might not be able to find a seat. Keep up the good work! Obviously changing the glass of 🍷. We finish with a good dessert and a new liqueur/bitter as a digestive. Great prices! Not at all exaggerated like the rest of the country.

But no one with a mask 🍽️ Reservations can be made for the terrace. The atmosphere is very pleasant and familiar. Here I would have spaced out a little more space between the outside tables. 📃 Menu with various meat dishes and many appetizers are very tasty. 💳💶 Fair value for money. 🅿️ We are in the center of Campo Marino, it's not easy to find a place in front of the restaurant but at a distance there are places on the blue lines where you can leave your car. For those who are in the centre, you can easily reach it on foot. 📞 I recommend booking on weekends and in the summer. Spiaggia di Monaco Mirante is a stunning beach located in the enchanting Salento region of Italy, perfectly positioned between Campomarino di Maruggio and San Pietro in Bevagna. This hidden gem boasts crystal-clear waters that provide a serene escape from the bustling summer crowds. The beach features a unique blend of rocky and sandy areas, making it ideal for families seeking both adventure and relaxation.
Rather wild and very beautiful for those wanting clear waters and rocky beaches. We were sick and tired of the super crowded “lidos” and we found this rather wild and very long beach. Parking is on the road, Italian style (clap your mirrors!!). Walk down on one of the many wooden bridges (beautiful) and enjoy the peaceful see, with plenty of space to lay your towel and umbrella. We did not find any bars or so but that worked for us. The sea was 😍 but rocky. However, you can find areas of pure sand that allow you to safely go in the water. Beautiful and calm in comparison to the heavily raved for lidos.

Nice sandy beach, clear water, on the "wild" side: down from the dunes, public beach with no facilities (umbrellas, lounge chairs, showers, bars, and the like). Parking on the side of the road "Italian style", if there is room (not sure how crowded it gets at popular times).

A shame not to protect these monuments of the Apulian and Calabrian coast. for the most part now in a state of abandonment. Absolutely lovely place in a small piazza, not so touristy place, clean and in the neighborhood of a church with special decoration for Infiorata fiesta. Quick and friendly service, very good food and what´s more, Maruggio as one of a few places in the south of Italy banned singles-use plastics in their restaurants and facilities. (Translated by Google) Tempo Zero, Maruggio In the heart of one of Puglia's most beautiful medieval villages, Tempo Zero is a triumph of flavor and hospitality. Here, the journey begins with the exquisite appetizers: a succession of small gastronomic gems prepared with fresh, seasonal ingredients. Grilled vegetables flavored with fine olive oil, fava beans, traditional meatballs, local cured meats and cheeses that speak of the land, and a few creative delights that surprise the palate. The pizza is a chapter in itself: light, fragrant, and well-cooked dough, generous toppings, and raw ingredients that taste of sun and sea. The first and second courses also deserve a mention, with full, authentic, and well-balanced flavors. But the real miracle of the evening has a name: Sara. A waitress like no other. Attentive, attentive, and attentive, she captures every need before you even express it, textbook speed, innate kindness, and a rare ability to make you feel special. Surprising is an understatement: Sara is the soul of Posto Zero (a rare commodity, it's increasingly difficult to find capable staff). Completing the picture is Roberto, the attentive and generous owner. It's a shame he didn't indulge in dessert :-) Little Luigi—aka "Harry Potter," nicknamed by me for his disarming resemblance—whose kindness and professionalism made the dinner even more memorable. The only hiccup? The red wine... served hot! But no need to panic: the situation turned into a comical skit that had not only our table but half the people around us laughing. And perhaps that's the beauty of it: here, even the unexpected turns into memorable moments. Conclusion: Posto Zero isn't just a restaurant, it's an experience that combines sublime food, rare hospitality, and the charm of one of Puglia's most beautiful villages. In short: excellent cuisine, a family atmosphere, and service that makes all the difference, all set in a picture-perfect village. I hope I've given everyone due credit and left nothing out. Oh, I'll be back! P.S. Roberto, put the red on the KTM cooler! With all my heart, Luciano (a poet, but not too much) (Original) Tempo Zero, Maruggio .Nel cuore di uno dei borghi medievali più belli della Puglia, Tempo Zero è un trionfo di gusto e ospitalità.

People get discouraged and leave. And if it wasn't air-conditioned at all, accommodate the customer anyway and turn on the air conditioning right away... it's work. And even the day before, if reservations are active from 9 or 9:30 pm and people without reservations arrive at 8 pm... they can find time to seat people and serve two pizzas in an hour and a half, oh dear. Also because in the meantime, for an hour or more, the tables were empty waiting for reservations. It seems like they just don't want to work except for those who book and always based on the weather. It's absurd to see this lack of empathy towards the customer and poor organization in 2025. And if you ask for takeout, given that you didn't book at 8 p.m....no, look, we have opening hours there too...and in the meantime, everyone was out there waiting, doing nothing.

Nestled in the charming town of Manduria, Vineria Casa Ciù is a delightful spot that perfectly captures the essence of Italian dining. This atmospheric venue offers an inviting ambiance where guests can unwind with a glass of exquisite wine while savoring delectable dishes. The menu features standout items like bruschetta topped with sardines and orange, alongside impressive cheese and meat boards that are sure to please any palate.
Atmospheric spot in the pretty centre of Marruggio for a glass of wine and great food. The bruschetta with sardine and orange was exceptional and cheese and meat boards also excellent. We had a wonderful family dinner here.

A fantastic unexpected experience. The local was full, but the owner let us in for an hour. I had the best charcuterie of my last 10 years, including a rose pepper lard and a boar's mortadella with truffle. At the end I was already full but I have previously ordered these sciarelli (kind of tagliolini) with acciughe in lemon sauce. It was worth today to make 650km even just to have dinner here. Owner and service extremely kind. Service swift and timely. Price adequate with quality and the interior decoration. WiFi available and credit card payment too. A very lucky chance for me tonight.

The owner made an extra effort to find a table for my partner and I. Food is very good and top ingredients. Got very nice advice on a top bottle of Primitivo. Don’t miss this place if you are around. Well done guys!

Very nice a cozy place. People working here are very nice and willing to provide you with a pleasant experience. Prices are very reasonable. Wine selection is quite good. i have tried this wine that I really enjoyed (Antieri - Susumaniello). The owner provide us with detailed description and origin of the wine the food is really nice an most of the bakery seem to be homemade. if i really want to find a negative point dont come here if you are in an hurry and you are looking for a quick service. Food and mostly wine deserve time to be enjoyed!

Great enoteca/wine bar in the historic center of the small city of Marrugio. Really enjoyed the interesting selection of local wines and the cheese and salumi aperitivo. Excellent and friendly service. Great atmosphere. For red wine lovers there is of course Primitivo but a lot more. Highly recommend. Great place...fun place...you can relax and feel at home.

The atmosphere is charmingly rustic, providing a cozy backdrop to enjoy your meal. Guests rave about the attentive service, even during busy times when they manage to accommodate special requests like multiple panzerotti orders.
(Translated by Google) Excellent place to eat pizza and panzerotti. Very friendly staff: despite the high number of orders, they even managed to fit 10 panzerotti in for the 14th evening! Highly recommended. The fried panzerotti: a real must! Thank you! 💕 (Original) Ottimo forno dove mangiare pizza e panzerotti. Grazie!💕

(Translated by Google) In August no pizzas due to lack of staff, at 9.00 on Sunday evening 1 hour of waiting for two panzerotti (ready around 10.10)... Always around 10pm people leave because it's all sold out. They say they can't find staff... could it be the fault of the famous citizen's income? In any case, it's a real shame because the prices are excellent and the panzerotti are certainly good... A round of applause to the elderly chef who works a lot.

(Translated by Google) Hmm... what should you write? On the first visit everything went well - we liked the pizza. The second time: The restaurant was open, the staff was sitting outside, I was told it would start in 5 minutes. Well, it turns into 20 minutes, even though they noticed me. To be honest, I find it impossible!!! (Original) Hmm... was soll man schreiben. Beim 1. Besuch lief alles gut- die Pizza schmeckte uns. Beim 2.

(Translated by Google) Excellent pizza and attentive service. Between panzerotti, rustic, sweet and open pizza, you are spoiled for choice. A rich menu that can certainly satisfy different tastes. Excellent pizzeria that I recommend. The pizza is the classic round one with medium thickness. (Original) Ottima pizza e servizio attento.

Nice and well kept Lido, but it gives the feeling they are more focused on the restaurant than on the beach bar. We missed the beach athmosphere, the good music, space to sit in the shade.. Disappointing shower, at an extra 50cent.

I took two sunbeds in the second row at lido posto 9 for my birthday on September 13th. The location is wonderful, a dream sea view. The service in the dining room and on the beach is always precise and friendly. We spent this day and many other evenings in this fabulous venue. The staff, local products and the sea view offer a unique service in the area. Michele is especially professional in all facets of the venue from breakfast at the bar to beach service until dinner. I highly recommend visiting if you are in the area.
