The Bursa Grand Mosque, also known as the Ulu Mosque, is a magnificent and ornate structure built in 1399 by Ottoman Sultan Bayezid. This Seljuk-style mosque features 20 domes and two towering minarets, making it a dominant and enduring symbol of Bursa.
The Grand Mosque in Bursa is a truly remarkable place – majestic, beautiful, and filled with a sense of history and spiritual peace. We visited early in the morning, when everything was still quiet and the mosque was gently alive with people in prayer. The atmosphere was deeply moving – a moment of calm and reflection that’s well worth experiencing. When visiting, don’t miss the chance to wander through the side streets around the mosque. It’s there that you’ll truly feel the heart of Bursa, surrounded by kind, welcoming locals and the charm of everyday life. A visit that leaves a lasting impression.

Impressive old historical mosque surrounded by businesses and recreation area. The grounds are always busy with worshippers and tourists as well. I did not see the inside but from what I gather it's also very impressive.

🕌 A must-see place in Bursa! Ulu Cami (Grand Mosque) is one of the finest examples of early Ottoman architecture. The atmosphere inside is peaceful, and the historical details are truly impressive. A perfect spot to take photos and feel the spirit of history.
Медина Н — Google review
The Ulu Cami Mosque is an absolute must-see! If you visit Bursa, this magnificent mosque should definitely be on your list. It was commissioned by Sultan Bayezid I after his victory at the Battle of Nicopolis in 1396 and completed around 1399. The mosque was designed by the famous architect Ali Neccar, and it stands as one of the finest examples of early Ottoman architecture. Built in the Seljuk multi-dome style, it features 20 domes supported by massive pillars, a design that symbolically reflects the Sultan’s vow to build twenty mosques, which he instead fulfilled by constructing one grand mosque with twenty domes. As its name suggests, the “Great Mosque” is truly majestic, richly decorated with intricate calligraphy, geometric motifs, and a central fountain used for ablution. Ulu Cami marks an important transition between the Seljuk and classical Ottoman styles, blending simplicity, symmetry, and spiritual harmony.
Stefan — Google review
The grand mosque of Bursa is beautiful, it’s old, it’s reminiscent of old Islamic architecture, its calligraphy is one to see, and the cover of the Holy Kaaba in Mecca is just icing on an already very beautified cake

Koza Han, also known as Cocoon Han, is a historic silk market with stunning Ottoman-era architecture and a wide range of retailers. This multilevel han was built at the end of the 15th century by architect Abdul Ula Bin Pulad Shah under the orders of Ottoman Sultan Bayezid II. The han served as an inn for merchants and consists of two courtyards, barns, warehouses, and 95 rooms.
Beautiful building. Courtyard offered a serene place for a cup of tea. Bazaar style shopping to be had around the outside of building. Inside had lil shops with silk scarves and delicates. Fresh fruits and veggies galore a lil further down. Enjoyed this explorer day alot!
Hana S — Google review
Visiting friends in Bursa for the Adha holiday, I was invited, among other places, to experience the special atmosphere of this charming place, the Koza Han, where people flock from various places in Turkey and around the city. It’s a huge courtyard where cafés and other shops abound, each offering their unique coffee flavor, sweets or food. We settled in one corner overlooking the yard, and waited patiently for what proved to be the best Turkish coffee I’ve tasted to date: Gözde kahve (favorite coffee). What makes it unique is the way it’s prepared slowly over coal, the way one would barbecue. The server brought the trays carrying the empty cups (each of a different color), as well as water and loukoum, a local tradition, which I find endearing. Later, when the coffee was ready, he brought each separately in a copper coffee pot, made differently to meet each of our tastes (sweet, black, half sugar). Just sitting there and observing the crowd around gives one a sense of serenity and calm, something we needed at the end of a very busy and tiring day. People sitting and chatting, others mulling around, the smell of coffee brewing hanging in the air, it’s all a pleasure one has to experience. I would definitely recommend for everyone who gets the chance to enjoy 😊 this treat.

It might be a historical place. But it is occupied by cafes. And everyone smokes here. You can feel vibe of smoking heaven. If there are not many cafes here like now, it would be much beautiful and great place than now.
Mothusi — Google review
Beautiful place with shops specialized in different things but mostly silk. Ambient is nice. There is very small masjid in the middle from 2hich you can take more panoramic pics and videos fir the place. I gave it 4 instead of 5 because only being small but there several other Han beside it so you can walk for longer time and see other shops but most importantly enjoy the sepcial vibe there.

Koza Han is a beautiful historical place in the heart of Bursa. The atmosphere is peaceful, full of history, and surrounded by lovely shops and cafés. You can enjoy Turkish tea under the trees and feel the spirit of the old Silk Road.

A very cute inn with a tiny mosque in the middle, inside there are shops selling mostly textile products, and there are also small cafes where you can drink tea and coffee.

A very much nice place. Entrance is only 2 liras, you can use the bus card to go in. The place is nice and clean and the music playing all the time was very nice too. Walking inside was organised as well, you need to follow the foot signs on the ground to walk through it. The only problem was that all instructions were in Turkish language only.

The Osman Gazi Türbesi is an Ottoman tomb located on a hilltop in Bursa, Turkey. The building has been reconstructed from a Byzantine structure and includes a terrace with cafes that offer stunning views of the surrounding area. While some visitors find the tomb to be overly decorated and not aligned with Islamic teachings, it remains an important historical site for many people. The tomb itself is elevated above floor level, which goes against traditional Islamic burial practices.
Visiting the Osman Gazi Tomb was a truly moving experience. As the founder of the Ottoman Empire, Osman Gazi holds a significant place in Turkish history. The tomb itself is beautifully maintained and reflects the grandeur of the Ottoman era. The serene atmosphere allows for quiet reflection on the life and legacy of this important figure. It's a must-visit for anyone interested in Turkish history and culture!
Lilih S — Google review
Here lies the founder of the Ottoman Empire. The shrine attracts many visitors and is ket in a very good condition. The guards at the entrance are dressed in the former of the days when Osman was the Sultan. They are a part of the attraction of the place. As it is a mausoleum, modest dressing is recommended.

The resting place of Osman Gazi, holy shrines of other important figures and close companions of the Ottoman regime. Located in Tophane park, which overlooks the panoramic view of Bursa city. Open to the visitors and free to enter, a calm, quiet and peaceful atmosphere near the tomb. A ceremonial reenactment used to perform there. Dressed as Ottoman soldiers and offer tribute to them in a crowd of spectators. Orhan Gazi's (Son of Osman Gazi) resting place is also next to this. Really a place to feel the old history and understand. A must visit spot in Bursa.
Hashim S — Google review
Here lies the first Sultan of the Ottoman Empire, I mean what can be said other than, May Allah grant Osman Gazi Jannat-ul-Firdous for all his contributions. The experience of visiting the tomb was very good. Make sure to stay till the end of the hour to see the guard change. Rest in peace sir.
Soban — Google review
The tomb of the first Sultan of the Ottoman Empire, Osman Gazi! When Bursa was conquered in 1326, Osman was still alive but too ill and old to take part in the campaign, so his son Orhan led the conquest. Next to Osman Gazi’s tomb, you’ll also find the tomb of his son, Orhan Gazi. What’s interesting is that the tomb of Osman Gazi is still guarded by human guards!
Stefan — Google review
We wanted to pay something but the staff refused. May God bless the administration of Bursa for taking care of the place. Real soldiers are standing there! Bravo for their work and may God give them strength

Visiting the tomb of Osman Gazi was an amazing and unforgettable experience. As the founder of the great Ottoman Empire (Osmanlı Sultanate), his final resting place carries immense historical and cultural importance. The tomb is beautifully preserved, and the peaceful atmosphere allows visitors to truly reflect on the legacy of this iconic leader. What made my visit even more special was witnessing a traditional parade near the tomb. It added a vibrant and ceremonial touch to the experience, giving a glimpse into the rich Ottoman heritage and how it’s still honored today. The location also offers stunning views over Bursa, and nearby sites like Orhan Gazi’s Tomb and the historic Tophane Clock Tower make it a perfect spot for history lovers. A must-visit destination for anyone exploring the roots of the Ottoman Empire!

Üftade Mosque and Tomb is a serene and ornate complex that serves as the final resting place of Üftade, an Islamic mystic who passed away in 1580. The mosque exudes tranquility and offers a spiritual experience for visitors. It is highly regarded as a historical and architectural gem, drawing both locals and tourists seeking a peaceful atmosphere to pay their respects or simply soak in the spiritual value of the site.

Uludağ Teleferik is the world's longest aerial tram, spanning 5.5 miles from the city to a nearby ski resort and park. Whether visiting in winter or summer, Uludağ offers a range of experiences. In winter, it's a snowy wonderland perfect for skiing, while in summer, the cool weather provides relief from the heat.
Have been here 2 times.. 2019 and 30 December 2024. My son was excited during the whole trip. ❤️❤️
Sabara — Google review
It was an okay ride. The price was high compared to the ride. There was a bit of a wait to get the tickets and there was a part of the lift that was not working so we only were able to ride half of it. If you have money to spare do it or else, it’s okay to miss it. One of the employees spoke arabic so that was very helpful.
Mike A — Google review
The view is absolutely stunning and worth seeing at least once. However, the cable car is quite expensive—especially for non-Turkish visitors, and it's unclear why there's a price difference. What's more frustrating is that they still charge the full fare even when the second station is closed, meaning you can't reach the summit. While it's officially "due to maintenance," it's clear that this closure is seasonal, as the upper section is simply not open in summer. Overall, it felt overpriced for a partial experience. I’m glad I saw it once, but I wouldn’t go again.
Elfra F — Google review
While the views from the Uludağ cable car are undeniably breathtaking, the overall experience left much to be desired. As a foreigner, I was charged 950 TL (around €22), which feels unfairly steep—especially considering that half the line was apparently "under maintenance" (we were told we couldn’t reach the summit, a common excuse it seems during the low season). There was no prior warning about the limited access, and no reduced fare to reflect the shorter ride. Beyond the scenic ride itself, the rest of the experience felt disorganized and poorly managed. For the price paid, I expected more than just a one-way view and vague explanations. The natural beauty is there, but everything else—from pricing to transparency—needs serious improvement.
Carmine M — Google review
Love it... Very organized. The fast line cost 300 lira but it's worth it... You don't have to wait to get there. Clean cars, the mountains are beautiful, touring the forest is a must. Must try if u visit Bursa

Wonderful experience to fly through the mountains covered with trees and clouds on top. I am so happy that the people and government of Turkey have taken a good care of their country. Would love to visit again.
Haroon M — Google review
The views were great. But the prices were outrageous. My Turkish fiancé was 90 tl to ride the cable car whereas, they charged me 300 tl because of my USA passport. It’s not fair. We spent 110 tl on just 2 coffees. Make sure to bring your own food because everything is overpriced. Other than that, the mountain is a great place to escape the heat and stress of the city. Many playgrounds for children.
Kerenza P — Google review
One of the amazing experiences I had in Turkey. The cable way has 2 stops. The first one (Satialan) is at 1635 m altitude. Once out, you will fund many activities and things to do for the whole family. You can have nature walks in the amazing fir forest, play at the adventure park, rent a bike or ATV, have a picnic in nature and many other things. You can easily spend the day there especially for families. The second stop (kurbagakaya) is at 1810 m altitude. It has ski resorts and chalets. The ride in the cable way itself is amazing since you go up Uludag mountain, then ride almost horizontally, then ride to to the top very close to the trees where you can enjoy the fir trees. It is a must when in Bursa.

We had a really nice experience at Bursa Kebapçısı. The view was great and the service was attentive and friendly. The İskender was cooked just right, and the yogurt was fresh and tasty. First time to try iskender kebab and it definitely taste different from other kebab. food is in great taste but pricy. The place is in a quite garden like place amid the vibrant part of the city. The services is like servers in high end restaurant. The only thing is I think it is overpriced. I ordered the “1.5 person” portion and the whole meal is 410 lira include a Ayran drink. I expect to get more meat but the bottom is the bread.

I recently had the pleasure of visiting Bursa Kabapesi during my trip to Bursa, and I must say, it was an unforgettable experience! The moment I took a bite of their Bursa kebaps, I was blown away by the unique and tantalizing flavors. The combination of perfectly cooked beef, aromatic spices, and a hint of smokiness created a taste sensation like no other. The ambiance of the restaurant is warm and inviting, making it an ideal place to visit with your family. The friendly staff added to the overall pleasant dining experience. The attention to detail in the presentation of the dishes was impressive, showcasing the care and passion that goes into each meal. As a beef lover, I appreciated that Bursa Kabapesi focuses solely on beef offerings. This dedication to quality is evident in every bite. The beef was incredibly tender and juicy, bursting with flavor. It's clear that they source the finest cuts of meat to ensure an exceptional dining experience. I highly recommend Bursa Kabapesi to anyone looking for a memorable dining experience in Bursa. Whether you're a local or a visitor, this restaurant will not disappoint. Make sure to try their Bursa kebaps for a true culinary delight. Trust me, you won't regret it!" 🥙👌

To begin with, it's important to clarify that the dish known as Iskender Kebap should actually be referred to as Bursa Kebap, as another restaurant holds the naming rights. Nevertheless, the culinary delight remains the same—Iskender Kebap. The food at this establishment is truly exceptional, particularly their delectable eggplant sauce that accompanies the kebap. The service is prompt and efficient, with ample seating available. The servers are also highly commendable, making the overall dining experience quite enjoyable. As of June 2023, a dish of kebap was 220TL

Nestled near the iconic Ulu Mosque, Âbad Türk Sofrası is a delightful culinary gem in Bursa that promises an unforgettable dining experience. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, with attentive staff who go above and beyond to ensure your comfort. Guests rave about the delicious, freshly prepared dishes, particularly the renowned Iskender Kebab, which captures the essence of local flavors beautifully. The restaurant prides itself on its hygiene and offers stunning views that enhance your meal.
So the food was really good. We can’t really say if it is the best in Bursa since we only tried this place, but we loved the service. They were very nice. They even got us extra salads for free. They were respectful. It is very hygiene and the only restaurant next to ulu mosque that has a nice view And although they don’t serve tea but since we really wanted to , they got us some even though it wasnt on the menu but they got it for us and for FREE

Abad restaurant was recommended by a friend to try its iskender and kebab. Our experience was average due to the delayed service and unattentive waiters; we ask for five Water bottles and the waiter brought 4 bottles. We asked him more than one time to get another bottle but he keeps forgetting. I ordered double iskender, the meat was good a little bit dry and in general was above average in taste and portion though it was not hot. The other food we ordered where mixed kebab and kofte. The kofte was delicious and hot. The bill was 818 TL which was overpriced. The cashier didn't give me a receipt. I think he was doing tax fraud.

This kebab shop Kebapçı İskender is a popular attraction near the city center in Bursa, Turkey. The ground meat skewers are delicious and the atmosphere is old-fashioned and traditional. It can be difficult to get a seat, but it's worth it.
I ate Iskander kebab for the first time, and for me (that my country has many kinds of delicious kebabs), the taste stayed with me forever. The respectful treatment of the staff, good service and nostalgic atmosphere along with the fair price was a complete package.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Tarihi Mavi Dükkan İskender 1867 is a must-visit for lovers of traditional Turkish kebab. The food is incredibly tasty and full of authentic flavor. This place has been around for a long time, and it shows in the quality and care they put into every dish. You might have to wait a little, but it’s definitely worth it. The İskender is especially amazing. Highly recommended for a true taste of Turkish cuisine!
Nusret K — Google review
Best İskender, I had. The portion is the right size, with a generous amount of butter, making it a tasty and true comfort food. Compared to other places I tried in Bursa, this one was much better in both quality and service, which was superior. Highly recommend it!!!

We wanted to try İskender kebap here, but there was a long queue, so we left at first. Later, while walking by, we saw an available table and went in. We sat and ordered, but the waiter didn’t seem happy with our order and just said “PEKI.” After a few minutes, a group of five guests arrived, and their food was served quickly, while we were still waiting! We found this behavior unfair. The food was good, but it’s expensive and not really worth the price.

The food was very fresh and delicious, authentically cooked over coals and served in a perfectly balanced plate of meat, bread and yogurt. The wait was shortened by the fact that they very efficiently take your order beforehand and therefore once seated, you receive the food in a matter of minutes. In my opinion, well worth the price!

Tophane Clock Tower is a striking 15-meter-tall neoclassical structure that was reconstructed in 1905. Originally built as a fire tower, it has become a popular attraction for both local and Arab tourists, partly due to the city's natural beauty and its prominence in Turkish movies and TV series. The area around the clock tower is rich in historical sites, including the tombs of Osman Ghazi and Orhan Ghazi, the founding fathers of the Ottoman Empire.
Totally worth it! If not for the historical monuments then at least just for the fantastic view of old town Bursa with its beautiful old mosques and bazaars, and the gorgeous mountainside.

The Irgandi Bridge, constructed during the Ottoman era in 1442, is a significant historical landmark in Bursa. It served as a commercial hub with an Ottoman bazaar on top and storage spaces within its main structure. The bridge is adorned with traditional arts and crafts outlets, offering visitors a glimpse of artisans at work. Its yellow bazaar atop the ancient stone bridge makes it a unique sight in Turkey.

Tophane Parkı, located in Bursa's Osmangazi neighborhood, offers impressive views of the city and is surrounded by historical sites. Tophane Park is located in Bursa's Osmangazi neighborhood. This is one of Bursa's busiest areas. There are so many historical sites surrounding this park. The Tophane Park is surrounded by lovely flower gardens and trees. This is really energizing. The sight of tulip blooms in the center of the park astounded me. Additionally, the entire Tophane Square is visible from the park's summit. The Tophane Clock tower and Osman Gazi's tomb are located in this park. Osman Gazi's tomb : The founder of the Ottoman Empire, Osman Gazi, was buried at this tomb. There are also a number of graves. The following people are buried there as well: Nilüfer Hatun, the wife of Osman Gazi; his son Şehzade Kasım Çelebi, his daughter Fatma Sultan, Murad's son Savcı Bey and Asburçe Hatun, Yıldırım Bayezid's sons Musa Çelebi, Şehzade Korkut, and Cem Sultan's son Şehzade Abdullah. Tophane Clock Tower: Bursa's Tophane Clock Tower was built by Ottoman Sultan II. It is an important monumental work reflecting the architecture of the Ottoman period. The historical clock tower is said to have been constructed to commemorate Abdulhamid's throne ascension on its 29th anniversary. This significant massive structure embodies the Ottoman era's architectural style. It has six floors and a height of 33 metres. Stunning viewpoint overlooking Bursa from beside the tower. From August 2, 1904, to August 31, 1905, was when the clock tower's construction was finished.

The Muradiye Complex, located just a short walk west of the Bursa Castle remains, is a historically rich site that includes the Muradiye Mosque, built in 1426 under Sultan Murat II. The complex also features a madrasa and the tombs of sultans. The mosque's architecture is reminiscent of Bursa's Green Mosque and boasts a garden filled with domed tombs that narrate the early Ottoman Empire's turbulent history and succession struggles.

This complex is set in pleasant gardens with a small cafe for refreshments. The mosque with the is very impressive, commissioned by Sultan Murad ll it contains 12 tombs(türbe)most belonging to the relatives of the Sultan. The mosque was completed in 1426, fire damaged the mosque in early 18th century, and one of the minarets collapsed due to an earthquake in the 19th century.,. The complex houses a Madrasa, Bath, and Maradiye Hospice. The Madrasa (school) is now a museum. It was the last complex built by an Ottoman Sultan in Bursa, Murad ll what is the father of Mehmet, the conqueror. Some of the tombs have is Iznik tiles. The museum has beautiful copies of the Quran. I found this to be a beautiful and relaxing place, despite the fact it must attract many tourists and local people.

The Complex of Sultan Murad II was the highlight of my Bursa visit. The interior of the mosque is one of the nicest we have visited in Turkey. There are a dozen tombs in the complex and these are immaculately restored. There is quite a variation in the burial plots and the decorations in each. The Karagoz Museum in Bursa, Turkey, is a unique celebration of the traditional art of Turkish shadow puppetry, particularly the Karagoz theater. It houses an extensive collection of exquisitely crafted puppets, costumes, and accessories that offer visitors a captivating insight into this centuries-old performance art.
Ive always loved karagoz and hacivat! Used to watch some clips on tv back in the day so seeing this was super cool! Its a shame the culture of storytelling with puppets is dying whilst it being a very fun and special. Its a small museum and it was free to enter. It was super interesting to read the given information and see how those puppets actually look like in real life. I wouldve loved for this museum to have a museumshop with souvenirs! Sadly stores nearby didnt sell anything related to karagoz and hacivat either

A very interesting museum! I've read about the Karagoz and Bahlavan in the Middle Eastern and Central Asian culture before and how they influenced kingdoms and civilians but never thought of finding a place that tells the story through pictures, old newspapaers and wooden figures from various destinations. Also, i was lucky to attend a Karagoz play during a school trip. Of course, it was in turkish and i didn't understand a word, but the music was so entertaining it reminds me of my childhood, add to that the excitement and energy i felt amongst the children..That was priceless!! متحف الاراجوز

I couldn't believe it, as if the gentlemen serving were asking why you came. You say thank you, there is no response, no one says bon appetit, rude service. We ate quickly and got up, wondering how we could eat and go. Besides, you were not cheap. We returned home with a meal that was not worthy of the 800 TL per person fee. I was an embarrassment to my wife and daughter. With this service, yes, do not provide service in normal times.

(Translated by Google) We went to the iftar dinner and we were hungry, they said there was no pastry left for you, it was an iftar dinner for two people for six people, poor quality food, bad service, in short, it was a disgraceful iftar meal. I definitely do not recommend (Original) Iftar yemeğine gittik aç kaldık, börek size kalmadı dediler, alti kişiye iki kisilik iftariyelik, kalitesiz, yiyecekler ,kötü hizmet tek kelime ile rezalet bir iftar yemeği idi. Kesinlikle tavsiye etmiyorum

Durum restaurant
Donerci Bekir Usta is a popular spot known for its delicious lahmacun, crispy and flavorful. The green salad is standard, and the service can be a bit amateurish at times. The restaurant has become more comfortable over the years and offers favorites like wrap, raw meatballs, and kunefe. With multiple branches in Bursa, it opens from 10/11:00 in the morning until 03:00 at night with friendly staff.
It was very good, i mean food drinks and the service. THANK YOU ALL :)

Ok iskender kebab. Much tastier version at the original restaurant just around the corner (and not much more expensive) . Midye dolma (mussels with rice) quite nice

Kebab shop
Turkish restaurant
İSKENDER Tarihi Ahşap Dükkan is a renowned restaurant in Bursa, known for inventing the famous Iskender kebap generations ago. The restaurant doesn't have a menu as they exclusively serve Iskender kebap. Along with the meal, patrons can enjoy Sira, a sweet drink made of slightly fermented grape juice unique to Bursa. Located centrally in Bursa, this historic restaurant exudes coziness and charm.
A historical wooden shop full of charm and warmth! The atmosphere feels authentic, and the smell of İskender makes you even more hungry 😋 Delicious food, kind staff, and a real taste of Bursa’s tradition.

Unfortunately, I didn’t find the same taste as before. In the past, the taste of butter and yogurt was also better. Now, I found the taste of the İskender ordinary.

I had the Iskender at İSKENDER Tarihi Ahşap Dükkan, and it was really tasty! The amount of meat was generous, which was a pleasant surprise. Personally, I found the hot melted butter on top a bit excessive for my taste, but overall, it was a delicious experience. Highly recommend trying it out!

The Original !! and full of character, İSKENDER Tarihi Ahşap Dükkan offers a delicious taste of traditional Iskender kebab in a charming, old-style wooden setting. The meat is tender and flavorful, the butter and tomato sauce are rich and perfectly balanced, and the service is warm and attentive. A must-visit for anyone looking to experience genuine Turkish flavors in a place that feels like a step back in time. Highly recommended!

A historical iskender meat restaurant, good service, good food, welcoming staff, beautiful wooden & tiles decoration, prices are high & getting higher time after time
Talal A — Google review
it's really a place just for Iskender. There's much varieties on the menu. Since we came in the late afternoon and was not the peak season for tourists, we have been served very quick and attentively. And we got a very good table for us.😃

I read online this was a must eat meal in Bursa... yes this is true. You can capture Bursa in this meal. Very delicious and freshly prepared as you order. I recommend sharing a portion with someone so you can continue to try more street food in the area. Definitely mix the tomato/ meat/ bread/ yogurt together with the green pepper.... it will be a great flavor explosion in your mouth.
